I purchased a new 2018 RAM 2500 Limited around April of 2018 and loved the way the truck handle and performed until someone rear-ended the truck and thats where the saga began due to lack of parts (national back order) from Mopar. The truck has been in the shop going on 2 month and counting for simple things like rear shock absorbers.

I bought this 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 new in 2001. Im still driving it and loving it 18 years later. Ive had some maintenance but what vehicle wouldnt after 228,000 miles. The maintenance was minimal compared to what it should have been. The 5 year battery in it I installed in 2009 and its still working in 2018. It doesnt look very good but I dont care. Its the most dependable vehicle I have ever owned.

A friend and I bought two 2008 Dodge Ram trucks. At the time, the dealer had them sale priced by almost ten thousand dollars! How could anyone resist such a bargain! However, we should have heeded the old saying You get what you pay for. Well, right from the start, my trucks transmission shifted hard from first to second. I took it in and the serviceman said The transmission needs to break in. WHAT!!! I thought he was joking but he wasnt!!! So after 5000 miles, the problem continued and the dealer said there is nothing they can do about it. I traded it and bought a Ford. Consequently, absolute flawless operation with the Ford F150 for years now!!!Secondly, my friend’s truck would burn out a transmission solenoid every time he put his truck in four wheel drive. Meaning, he could not take it out of four wheel. To date (2016) the dealer has NOT been able to repair the problem!! He also has numerous other problems since he purchased it and unfortunately, cant afford to buy a new truck. My opinion, Chrysler makes subpar products having so many flaws. They just cant keep up with offering corrected solutions or remedies to repair them (or just dont care to as a way of doing business). Rather, the dealers teach their employees how to double talk (lie) to confuse the customer so they (the customer) will be convinced that pigs can fly.

Only about $16K miles my 2016 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel 3.0L engine seized. Took it to the Dodge dealer, they are blaming me for that. Telling me I put water in the air box and engine seized! They are just trying to avoid the warranty. After researching, found out I am not the only one with the same issue. I guess the oil that was used for these engine causes the engine to seized between 10 to 20K miles. I am getting an Attorney at the moment to get a lawsuit going against Chrysler. Easy win...

I bought a 2001 model from Bonham Chrysler Lariat 1500CC and it is SUPER, except for the dash breaking up in it which was common for older models, but I just bought a dash cap repair cover and everything now is perfect. I dont know about the newer models, but the older are tried, tested and proven.

I have a 2015 Ram 1500 Crew Cab 4x4. This truck has had problems hanging in third gear. Went back to dealer for service, no codes and they say can not duplicate problem. Next had problem with it not starting, turn key and just like the battery was dead. After 7-9 times it finally starts. While driving down interstate truck went into neutral by itself, went back to the dealer BOB ALLAN MOTOR MALL, can not duplicate problem. Now the trucks lights go out while driving complete danger to me and whoever I meet on the road. Again same deal, can not duplicate. Contacted Ram customer service. They offered me a trade in assistance program which basically is a slap in the face as anyone who has ever purchased a new truck or car knows inside of two months you are upside down when trying to trade back to the dealer. These people have taught me one thing for sure. Do not buy RAM TRUCKS. THEY WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEM ONCE THEY GET YOUR MONEY. THEY COULD NOT CARE LESS.

I owned a 3500 diesel 2012 which the garage could not fix due to the O2 censors kept shooting up and putting the check engine light on. Dodge bought the truck out and we replaced it with a 2500 gas 2014 truck. This truck had a rear end whine in it. The garage we bought it from said it was like opening Pandoras box and did not want to fix it. This whine was between 50-60 mph. We then took it to another dealer and they heard the whine and opened the rear end but did not see anything wrong with it. The truck had 12,000 miles on it with original warranty and an extended warranty on it. The dealer charged $172.00 to have the whine worse 45-50 mph than when we brought it in to be fixed. Bottom line is go buy a FORD or Chevrolet not a Dodge Ram. Two strikes and youre out forever.

I have lost customers and a lot of money Because of this truck! I dont recommend anyone to buy a Dodge Ram! This is by far the worst truck I have ever owned! And Dodge doesnt care. They DONT stand behind their products. I have contacted them personally to give them a chance to make this right. Now that they have said they did their part by changing more parts again and have said that they dont know if thats what is wrong with it. I am supposed to rely on it. They have left me no choice but to turn this into my attorney!! SO DONT MAKE THIS MISTAKE AND DONT BUY A DODGE RAM TRUCK!!!

This is my third Ram, 2006, 2012 and now 2016. This is by far the worst truck I have ever owned, and the worst dealer service experience! The dealer was in too much of a hurry to put me in a truck, they failed to hear my needs and wants, from the get go with a salesperson who was actually a corporate rep, visiting the dealership this day. He did not listen to my towing needs, and everything he promised me for free (thrown in) was just added to my bill of sale, and my application was for 0% down, 0% financing - and in the end was 3.49%, which was not communicated to me at all.So, first I did not end with a hitch receiver, towing mirrors, or brake module - I had to buy a receiver for $300 and a brake module for $500 plus $90 to program it. I was forced to buy this, as the dealer would not help me and I had to move my trailer promptly. Second the rep promised me the truck could tow my trailers and handle the capacities. The truck falls short by 3000 lbs. because the 8 speed trans. and 3:21 rear gear combo are ** - something the rep failed to even look at and confirm capacities - and assured me that this truck could handle my towing needs. NOT!The truck: the front end is loose - rattles over tracks and bumps, shakes violently on highway (death wobble close) - tires have been balance three times, steering column shakes and rattles, transmission growls, shudders, clunks (when putting into gear or decelerating), vibrates on highway. Rear end clunks, tow haul button doesnt work, gas gauge glitches, headlight out of aim, antenna loose, leather seat clips came off, door weather strip fell off, hood is not aligned with fender, led lights fell out of back seat. When towing my 3500 lb. trailer in tow haul mode the trans. feels like it wants to explode (loud growling and vibration) at any speed. This experience may be only from my particular truck and dealer but I feel it warrants this submission!

My truck has had issues with shifting since the day I bought it. The salesman told me it just needs to be broken in. I have 40,000 miles and now they have to put a new transmission in and they are starting out with only replacing a solenoid. Meanwhile I have no car. I research this now and see several complaints on transmissions and engines. Not happy with this vehicle at all.

Took trip to Calgary. Needed fuel filters. Tried to get service on a Saturday. Couldnt get service. Here are some of the things I was told. Bear in mind this is a NEW DODGE DIESEL (OWNED LESS THAN A YEAR): This is our busy season so you will need to book after Wed. We dont have a mechanic in on Saturdays and one of the filters is tricky. It will leak if not done properly. Try Mr Lube. Mr Lube says too new a vehicle, we dont stock these filters (also remember I was told one filter is tricky so why would a dealership suggest Mr Lube). Sorry, we dont have these filters in stock.

Warranty Service: My 2011 Dodge Truck (VIN **) was taken to Crown Dodge, initially, for a shimmy at 70MPH (on cruise control). The problem was noticed when I decreased my average speed from 75MPH to 70MPH to save gas. The problem exists when ascending/descending long hill. The truck was taken to Crown Dodge 4 times; each time, something was done to correct the fault. However, after being told it was fixed, I drove it home on the I-44 turnpike, and the situation each time was the same. The final analysis was that it is the nature of the beast - that engine has such torque. A local independent repair facility assured me it was not the U-Joints. I took the truck to Central Oklahoma Dodge yesterday and gave the information above. Today, they tell me (Mark) that they cannot duplicate the problem. He (Mark) is going to take the truck on the freeway tomorrow to try to duplicate the problem. My question is, what if he duplicates the problem? Then what? If it is the nature of the beast, nothing can be done. I am unable/unwilling to drive a vehicle with a known problem. I converted to Dodge from Chevy/Ford at the suggestion of my close friend. This is my second Dodge. Please advise soonest. (I am unable to talk on the phone due to Cochlear implant. If you need me to call you, I have to use my CapTel phone.) Thank you.

The truck is an excellent version this year. Lots of room and very comfortable. The interior is well designed and easy to operate the instrument panels. The handling of the Ram is a bit tough because of the rear of the truck being so light but Ive added weight by placing blocks in the bed and covering them easily as not to be seen. The price of the truck is a bit costly. With gas prices rising they should bring the price down. Otherwise the performance and durability are worth the money. I would recommend this truck to all. Go and check it out. You will not be disappointed.

My 2008 Dodge Ram 1500s motor blew up on Aug 6. This particular model is not covered past three years/36,000 miles. I bought it used and the first owner didnt buy the extended warranty. I contacted Chrysler directly, case number 21213374, in order to find out if they would assist me in some way since a three-year-old motor should not blow up. Aug 8 was my initial call and I have called my caseworker Natasha every day and left messages in order to find a resolution. She has not yet returned my calls despite my plea for immediate assistance and I am without a vehicle and insurance will not provide a loaner. Considering the automotive industry is lagging considerably, wouldnt customer service be a top priority? No loyalty to repeat owners (I have had six Chrysler autos) and complete indifference to people in need of help.

Where do I start?! We purchased a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 new off the lot, after trading in our Dodge mini-van purchased new in 2004. Financing was really easy through Chrysler Finance. This was the only positive thing in all of our experience with this truck. The first year, we had problems with the gas cap light coming on, then the engine light. We had regular maintenance because we needed to have a reliable truck for our outfitting business. Within the next year, one day, the truck wouldnt even start. We found out that the anti-theft sensor in the steering column wouldnt accept our key. Again, we needed a new sensor; this was one of many to follow. We had to replace the radiator several times, have it flushed because the heater wouldnt work. The air-conditioning hasnt worked for 3 years now. The computer has been eating up all our money, and the dealer refused to change it when it was still under warranty. A sensor for the windshield washer fluid has been on for 2 years; the engine light is still on and now after the truck is finally paid off, the anti-theft device needs to be replaced again. I forgot to mention that the rear end, after the first year, started slipping. I could go on but I think a person reading this gets the message. Yes, there are a lot of kilometers on this vehicle since 2007, but it has been a very stressful experience and journey. I am sorry to say but through all of the trouble with this Dodge Ram, we had to rely on a 1997 Ford F150. Never again will we buy a Dodge.

In May my engine light came on. Now in November after 12k miles and 25 actual documented trips to service we still have same issue with Def system problems. Dealership, dodge and Cummings are all involved. Its going in again next week to install a device to monitor the truck from another location as well as a new pump and another sensor that has been replace multiple time. This is my everyday driver and being without a truck like this is not useful. In the 25 times I have been given a car once (had to be jumped 1/2 mile away to get back home) and a 1/2 ton old Chevy truck 3 times. Chrysler has given me a case manager and somehow my case was closed last week, I call inquiring why and they couldnt tell me but started a new one. Anyone else suspicious? 5 times so far the computer has threatened to shut down in 200 miles and instructs getting to dealership. So next week is 26 times in the shop since May with my everyday 5500 work truck with a dump landscape box, tool boxes, snow plow and computer stand installed in truck. I wish I could take away everyone elses computer until this truck is fixed.

Aug. 28, 2017, while driving a 2015 Dodge 1500 Eco Diesel at 40 mph with 41000 miles, recently serviced, truck lost power, tach went to zero, white smoke billowed from the back of the engine hood in front of windshield. Pulled over. Opened hood. Flames pouring out of backside of engine on both sides. Shot a 2 lb fire extinguisher, did not help much. Noticed a large oil or fuel slick on the passenger side of road, 3 feet to the outside of the truck. Engine compartment fully engulfed in flames within 4-5 min. Truck cab was inflamed by 7 min. We lost everything we had in the truck. Called Dodge to make claim on our 100,000 mile, Mopar Bumper to Bumper warranty... which they denied. We are looking to build a case against Dodge listing others who have had this same experience. Dodge has denied that anything was wrong with their truck. We disagree.

Bought a new 6.7 Cummins Ram 2017 5500 from dealer. Use the vehicle for transporting boats and freight. Stay on top of all my maintenance and the motor has dropped a valve seat at 144k miles. I dont pay 52k for a vehicle and the motor to drop a valve seat in motor. Gonna cost me 10 to 15k to repair motor. Any motor should last long than 144k. I had a check engine light come on on a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 with 17,000 actual miles. Took it to our dodge dealer (Christophers Dodge) and upon running the computer was told that there was probable a clogged exhaust line and/or valves not working. Upon taking the truck in a week later was informed by Christophers Dodge that we had a completely plugged EGR Cooler and it would cost around $3200.00 to fix. This has been a problematic part with Chrysler and if replaced during the 5 year 100,000 miles warranty it would be paid for. Well since our vehicle falls out of the 5 year warranty period they would only reduce the cost of the labor. Even though the vehicle only has 17,000 miles and looks like it came off the showroom. We were informed we were not loyal customers since we had not done our oil changes there. So we ended up paying 2600.00 for the repair and in my opinion will never purchase another Chrysler product since they do not back their vehicles.

My 2012 Ram 1500 SLT is only used less than six months of every year and I have had two years yet the rear differential seal keeps going. Its been replaced twice and is leaking again in under six months since the last replacement. I requested they check that and the exhaust manifold last time it went in for repairs, and instead of doing so they suggested I buy a new truck, and when I refused their offer they continued to try to push me into it with numerous follow up calls. Needless to say they didnt even check why the seal keeps going just told me it was worn out and theres nothing that causes that, then told me the rattling noise was because I needed an oil change which had been done a month prior. Told them if thats what it was to do the oil change. After paying for another oil change and bringing my truck home I am still having the same issues, what do I do?

Very poor customer service in regards to replacement of front seat padding
Very poor customer service in regards to replacement of front seat padding in my Ram 1500. The representative I spoke to said that it wouldnt be covered under warranty. They claim the seat padding was covered for 12 months or 12 thousand miles. The padding has broke down so far that it feels like youre sitting on the bars. They claim theyve known about this for 7 years but refused to do anything about the manufacturing process. In my opinion, Dodge doesnt care about customer safety or customer service. 2014 RAM TRUCK 15000 miles. Pushing two years old. Day one -- starts great, runs about 2 minutes, dies. This occurred for about 3 months, back to back repairs, had to use roadside service. Finally cured that. Next problem to this exact date, almost a year later, and still no fix! Airbag light on right NOW! Dealership has TRIED numerous repairs and fixes, NO LUCK! Many trips back and forth to dealership, (8 repair orders) STILL ON RIGHT NOW! NOT FIXED! 4 attempts or cases with their STAR TEAM. Whatever that is? They suck! Chrysler Resolution team has tried and I said tried to resolve, offered me $$$ and wipe out past history, extended warranties, I said take that and stick it up your??? REALLY, I JUST WANT AIRBAG FIXED not cover it up and think Im desperate for money. Guess what? Im not! Now have retained a Lemon Law attorney to maybe help. Its been many months and Chrysler tells him no refund or replace. Then Chrysler attorneys tried to offer me $2000 and think I would be happy and say sure. Then again I told my attorney to tell them to stick that up their **! Do they think Im that easy or stupid! Plain and simple and you will understand when I tell you this -- its my life youre messing with daily, 50/50 chance it might or might not work, Russian Roulette every time I sit behind the wheel and drive. THEY DONT CARE! I guess since they are a multi-billion dollar corporation they dont give a ** about lives, their product or name. JD POWER MUST NOT TAKE THIS INTO CONSIDERATION WHEN THEY AWARD BACK TO BACK TRUCK OF THE YEAR! My time, my life, my family is important Chrysler! When we purchased our 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 it was during the promotion for the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty. The stipulation was that it has to be taken to the dealer every 5 years for a check up or the warranty is voided. We took it in December 2012 and again in August 2018. We felt that since December 2018 is 6 years that we still had the warranty. We were informed by Dodge that they do not have to notify us of either an impending expiration or that we needed to return for the 5 year check up. Since it hasnt been a full 6 years after we were hoping to get the warrant reinstated, at the dealers direction. We are having a terrible time getting a resolution from anyone at Dodge. We have purchased a total of 5 vehicles from Chrysler over the last 12 years and were hoping they would consider a long time customer.

We installed both a front and rear bumper replacement on a 2016 Dodge Ram. During the process we removed the sensors in the factory bumpers and reinstalled them in the aftermarket bumpers. The sensors failed to come back on so we sent it to the Dodge dealership for re-calibration. They discovered that six of the sensors had failed. The total bill will be just under $1000. How is it that these sensors are so sensitive that they cannot stand such a simple process as removal and re-installation? If these sensors are really this sensitive, they must be a faulty design and should be recalled.

My 16 month old son, Odin, and my 3 year old Thor had just been buckled into their seats. I just plugged in my phone as my battery died sending a text that I would meet in a few minutes... for the catfish festival! I backed out, started driving and poof! My airbags exploded!!! I drove off the road and into my neighbors driveway without ever hitting the breaks. Next thing I know, my face, shoulder and arm are burned from the airbags, and my kids are screaming. My neighbors all come out, one saw the whole thing, and asked what happened. I am sure I sounded like crazy lady with..I have no idea. But, I really didnt know why one minute I was fine. And the next I had airbags and a crash. 1 week later I got the recall in the mail for the airbags. I still have not received the recall for temporary loss of vehicle control. Ram has not responded to my report of the recall, its been a week and I have called EVERY day to see when I get to talk to someone. I walked into local Ram dealer and asked for the local Chrysler rep-Scott ** - I cant get his number nor will they give me his email or even a mailing address for a lawsuit letter! My GEICO rep wants to part out my totaled truck without looking into the recall. I am told by 3 GEICO adjusters, they are not going to download the box... the magic box that will confirm my airbags, and if I want to persist i.e. It I can. Wow. Where is the class action? My attorney said since me and my kids werent racking up thousands of medical bills (we were only going 15 mph) it is not worth taking on. I am now out 10,000 to get my same truck this year. I am changing insurance, to say the least, and want to sue Chrysler... but have no address for my lawyer to send a letter to! Anyone else have this problem??? So the day comes to pick it up. I take my truck home and while driving it around no longer than 30 mins the engine light comes on. So my first time experience was destroyed. I took it to the dealership in Strathroy Ontario where I purchased it. They told me it was the gas cap fault. I said “How can it be that? I didnt fill it up, you guys did.” So they cleared the fault and on I went. This fault went on for 2 months before finally they figured it out and replaced the duel cats that were faulty. So for the first two months living at the dealership. Getting rented vehicles etc., etc. I hated this truck period! You buy a 50000 dollar truck and its crap from the get go! What a crappy feeling. Not to mention I called Dodge and talked to the dealership 3 days after I bought it and wanted a different truck! Dodge told me I cannot back out of my loan. They told me I could not get another truck and if I even could that would be the dealerships decision. I thought in Ontario you can back out of a contract within 15 days of signing it? Guess I was wrong. So I talked to the dealership, my salesman and the garage. They just really shrugged me off saying “We will see what we can do for you” and never got back to me and really did nothing.I was told they were going to talk to the owner and try to help me out cause of what I was going through, nothing ever happen. Not even a sorry! I was told they would give me a free 50 inch tv for everything I went through and cause I was so nice and understanding with them. Nothing ever happen. Now not even 10 days after I bought the truck I took it in and took the salesman out for a ride in my truck telling him my truck is the worst ride in a vehicle Ive ever had. Feeling every bump after bump and when you go over bumps or raises like going over bridges; it grabs the truck and shoots it sideways. My wife refuses to drive my 50,000 dollar truck. It makes her sick from all the bumps and horrible ride. This truck twice now has almost carried my wife and kids off the road resulting in an accident. Even myself, I drove over a common bridge in our area on Pike Side Rd outside Strathroy doing 90 kms and it shot me 2 feet sideways resulting in missing the bridge wall by a foot. I have never been more scared in my life driving a vehicle.I also took my vehicle in at the same time complaining about the tires. Im buying a 50000 dollar truck and they put on the cheapest tires. I have 40000 kms on my truck now and they are done already. They have been done at 20000 kms ago! I took it in on my first and second service asking if they were Ok and they said yes, nothing wrong with them. They are at the wear bars pretty much. Thx for being honest Dodge. When I bought the truck the sales guy told me to go to another tire place to trade them in and get a discount on better tires. This is the sales guy for Dodge telling me the tires are crap after I realize it days after I buy it.So I called the tire place. They turn me down cause they have 80 tires sitting in the back that they cant move cause of doing these deals for Dodge. So out of luck. Thx Dodge for selling me a 50000 dollar truck and sending me straight to the tire place for four new tires 30000 kms later for 1500 dollars in good tires cause you rip your customers off informing us youre selling us a 5 star rating road worthy truck; wouldnt that include the tires? Hogwash...So here I am less than a year and a half later paying for a truck owing 70000 dollars and I have a truck that was a piece of crap from the first day, having cat issues, balled tires in 30000 kms, a truck that rides like a Russian tank - well sorry Russia your tanks ride better! Hanging radio issues, suspension issues etc., etc. My wife wont ride in it cause it makes her sick. And while I look back supporting Dodge 3 times buying a Neon RT in 2002, a Dodge 2010 Caravan, and now a 2013 Dodge Hemi, I am honestly thinking of taking my services to another company. We own a dairy farm and have supported Dodge for years. I think we are going to buy elsewhere from now on. Now Im not saying all this just because I had just one bad go. Im so upset because after all of this not once did I get an apology, not once did they offer me anything out of compassion for what Ive gone through, not once did the owner or Dodge or anybody call me or anything! I will continue to hate this truck every day and not once has anyone given a crap at all!Im so upset you would think they would have given me free oil changes or God something to show support or compassion. Nope all the promises; hot air from what I call it, all the grief I went through and the shop employees know what I went through - they saw it. I didnt even get a sorry from the owner of Dodge! So my best friend buys the same truck but a Sport 2014 - same tires, suspension blah, blah, blah. You take my buddy out for a ride same road in his truck then mine! Im so upset, so upset his truck rides like a gem like what mine should ride like. Im so upset. I took him in mine and he was pissed. He now sees the difference and how horrible mine is. And when we went out we almost got into an accident cause when passing a car we hit a bump and it threw us into the side of road, the gravel part and we almost wiped out at 90 kms an hour. Its nice to know I got ripped off and my buddy has the truck I always wanted. So we go to the dealership, my friend confirming the difference, etc., etc. from my truck to his and I have an appointment Friday to look at suspension. Guaranteed Mr. **, everything looks Ok. If you continue to have these issues, just let us know and we will tell you the same thing over and over again and do nothing.” Im so upset. Ill never buy another Dodge ever again and if I can stop one person from doing the same, Ill be happy. It kills me to feel this way cause I loved Dodge for years. All I got to say, if something ever happens to my family be flying off the road, they better hope I die in the process! It sucks to want to be so happy, but all you get is 7 years of grief! Why doesnt anyone care anymore? What have people and companies come to these days? Its so sad.

Purchased a 2011 dodge 1500 4x4 Laramie 5.7 Hemi new in April 2011. Get in truck just seven months later and it will not drive. No gear action. Had it towed to the dealership and day one, the tech says he doesnt know the problem. Day two, doesnt know; day three, ask me why the transmission fluid looks new. Heck, I dont know, you tell me. Day four, informs me that its the transmission pump. Its shot. In seven months? Ive been seeing a lot of transmission complaints about dodges. Makes one wonder.

2016 Ram 3500 Diesel - Horrible front end vibration on delivery. According to the FINDLAY RAM dealer in Post Falls Idaho where I bought it, it is normal for the front to vibrate your fillings out. Vehicle dangerously cut out pulling out onto the highway/road. Took it to the same dealership 3 times and they couldnt figure it out (I checked the transmission fluid and it was a full quart low). The computer went completely crazy making every single gauge go crazy, and warning light flash continuously. She drove it straight back to the dealer and it wouldnt start again. They had to give her a loaner car and couldnt get their diagnostic machine to even talk to it. Out of the blue it magically works again a day or two later, but since no code was thrown they didnt fix anything.Engine is now knocking like crazy on acceleration (taken it to the dealership 4 times) and the same dealership says its not a problem and that if I throw a rod out of the bottom of the engine while on vacation, warranty will cover it. This is a brand new 67 thousand dollar truck... and all of this has happened in the first 5000 miles. I am now at 8000 miles and couldnt be more disappointed with the brand, the dealership, and RAM care. Now I am going to have to get a lawyer to get this resolved.

My Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 SLT pickup has a severely cracking dashboard, and it has been an obvious manufacturers defect for many years. It is getting to the point where the dash could become dislodged in pieces and either fall into the dashboard area or worse, shatter in sharp pieces in the event of a collision. I called the customer service 800 number and was told that even though I am the original owner of the vehicle, that Dodge would do nothing to make my vehicle safe for me and my kids because there were too many miles on the truck. Sad thing is that the truck has been an excellent vehicle, fun, completely reliable, and I wont buy another Dodge product because they wont fix a cosmetic issue that could be very dangerous.Short sighted corporation, as I would have bought another Dodge in a heartbeat, but not now.

I own a 2009 Dodge 2500 with 85,250 miles on it. While pulling a 28 foot 5th wheel trailer, the front brakes locked up while traveling down the freeway almost causing us to almost go into the ditch. We brought it to the dealership, and they found that all the rubber brake lines had failed on the truck. The rear brakes were not working at all and the front brakes had locked up. They stated that this is something that is showing up on some Dodge pickups. This is a huge safety concern that we feel needs to be addressed by Dodge.

My 2009 Ram has lit like a Christmas tree so many times I lost count. Replaced many modules over the years and Im 100% confident that not one was defective. Drive in with the warning lights on and everything working after a dealership mechanic evaluation, then something mysteriously (without explanation) stopped working (like the 4wd for instance) and was told a module needed replaced. These trucks are electrically unsound and have faulty instrument panels that Dodge wont repair. Terrible engineering and dealer mechanic work. Plus a company and subsequent dealerships that cant and wont address the problem except waste your time with a bad warranty. I absolutely stand by these comments and have all my records/correspondence with the Dodge and the dealership.

On 07/07/14 I bought a 09 Ram truck from Island Chrysler in Pawleys Island SC. It only had 37233 miles on it. It came with a 90-day power train warranty. On the FIRST day I informed the dealership about an engine issue. I took the truck back for service the next business day. They checked it out and said it was fine. It only got worse. The engine loses power and smoke pours out the tailpipe. I took it back on 08/20/14 again no resolution. To date it has happened 15 times. I have put 3000 miles on it and it has used over 2 quarts of oil every 1000 miles. I have changed the oil twice. I called Chrysler and they have given me the runaround. I am disabled and can not afford to fix this. HELP.

I have 2019 Dodge Ram lease, I’m very satisfied with the vehicle EXCEPT for the touch screen which is so attention distracting that I believe it poses a hazard for drivers. I find myself having to pull off the side of the road to operate features because the system is so complex it’s a distraction. The US Navy is getting rid of touch screens because they feel they are a danger and blame them for two recent vessel collisions. This kind of technology is highly overrated and make the vehicles less safe to drive. Knobs and buttons are easier to to navigate and safer to use. More tech is not always a better idea.

With every visit I was greeted as an inconvenience each time until the second to last where Jay who I perceived to have been helpful until I went for the last time. He told me I was square and would not be charged for the repairs due to 99% of the problems being due to lazy mechanics. I was charged $500+ to have the repairs accomplished. Hindsight I shouldnt have given them a dime but I wanted to be done with this dealership as soon as possible. You will have better luck going anywhere but here. I personally have a biased against Dodge in general after this experience and will probably go to another brand.

I have been a Dodge person for 50 years with both cars and trucks. I brought a 2012 Ram 2500 4wd diesel thinking it would compare to my 97 ram 3500, but it has not. From the start I started having problems and the truck has left me on the side of the road more than once. It start with front drive shaft going out. Manual says to grease the u-joints but the shaft has no inserices to put grease in, this was $500.00 dollars to fix. Next the transmission went out. This was 2.300.00 dollars. Next the front headlights stop working, this was $150.00. Now the hydro-brake-booster has gone out, the bolts that hold brake fluid to the booster (which two) both broke in middle of the bolts. This separated booster letting fluid out losing all brakes. I am still waiting on the part because it was a special order, and the air-conditioner valves in desk is starting to give problems.

Purchased a new 2013 Dodge 2500 from O Daniels Chrysler in Fort Wayne, IN.
Purchased a new 2013 Dodge 2500 from O Daniels Chrysler in Fort Wayne, IN. In Oct. the 1st problems I had was with the steering & transmission. The truck would not steer straight down the road. I took the truck back to ODaniels 3 times before they found a bad tire, and it still doesnt drive like other ones I have driven. The tranny jerks when it shifts, sometimes it clunks in really bad. ODaniels said they could not find anything wrong. After taking the truck back several times, ODaniels informed me that Chrysler told them it is normal for the Dodge 2500 to jerk & clunk into gear, so theres nothing they can do. In the meantime my wife & I are smelling fumes, we blamed it on semis & other vehicles. Then we noticed fumes when there was nothing else around. The fumes got worse & they happen every 400 to 600 miles, I took truck back to ODaniels. They kept the truck for 2 weeks & drove it 100 miles. They said they could not reproduce the problem, therefore there is not anything wrong. We picked the truck up from ODaniels. Within 500 miles the truck put fumes in the cab, this time we had to stop and get out of the truck. I called ODaniels and they said it did not show up on the computer so they couldnt do anything. ODaniels said they would trade us our truck for a 2014 truck, if I would pay an additional 18,000 dollars. The consequence of that is that I am still driving a Dodge Ram with a jerky, clunking transmission and with fumes in the cab. I find it shameful that Chrysler does not care anymore than this about the consumers safety & health. There is a lot more to be said, but this is about as mild as I can make it.

Bought the vehicle in February. Chrysler paid it off July the 7th. Bought a Ram 2500 crew cab on June 28th. In shop on July 9th, with 350 miles; transmission went out. Ill tell you something: All dealerships are the same after; they could care Less!! Bought my first one from Haddad Dodge in Bakersfield and my second one from Hunter Dodge in Lancaster. Both new trucks, neither one made it to 400 miles before they went into the shop. Shouldve kept my Ford Power stroke, was an awesome truck. My experience terrible. Brought my new 2017 Ram 1500 in for wind noise issue coming in the doors. First dealer said it was my vent visors, still the same after they were removed. They had the truck for 5 days, said it was fixed and ready for pick up. So I took truck for ride, same issue as when it went in. Then the manager said he brought three trucks out and they all have the same wind noise. I told him then they should tell the buyer before they spend 60.000 for a truck that theyre buying a truck that is not very well sealed. Not impressed because I just traded in my 2013 with no wind noise whatsoever with 160.000 kms on it. Nobody wants to help. RAM JUNK, POOR QUALITY VEHICLE. Bumper to bumper warranty ya right. I purchased a 2016 Ram 2500 6.7 diesel Crew Long Box 4x4 maybe 10 months ago. This week Monday morning I started my truck and check engine light came on so I stopped at my local dealer they plugged it in and couldnt read any codes. They informed me that the soonest they could look at the truck was 10 days away. I asked the service manager if the truck would go into limp mode. He informed me NO. I made an appointment 10 days out. Later that day I drove the truck an hour north and boom. What happens the DEF system starts a count down to 5 mph. So I drive into the nearest RAM dealership. They tell me We have no one that can look at the truck or plug it in. I ask the service writer what am I supposed to do brand new truck 16,000 miles on it less than a year old. I was told if you drive west about an hour you should hit another RAM dealership. They might have someone that can look at it, if not keep driving west and you will hit another dealership they might look at it!! I mean really thats what I was told. Now keep in mind you have a 150 mile range until the truck goes into limp mode and wont go over 5 mph. Its December in Wisconsin and its cold so instead of driving west I decided to head closer to home and I stopped at another RAM dealership and asked them to plug it in to see what was wrong with it. This is the 3rd Dealership I stopped at that day. They also informed me that they didnt have anyone to look at the truck and I would need to warm the truck up and try clearing the code out of it which could buy me a few days. I paid $60,000 for this truck and this is what 3 different dealers tell. Well my truck is at a service shop now not a RAM dealer because this private shop is moving heaven and earth to get it back on the road since no dealership would do anything. The kicker is all over this is under warranty but Im paying out of my pocket because I dont have any other way of getting around without my truck. Ive called Customer Service with RAM 3 times and I keep getting the runaround with no HELP. If people like me stopped buying RAM Trucks dealerships wouldnt be in business. I guess spending $60,0000 few months ago doesnt classify me as a good customer..... Sad part is a traded my Chevy Duramax in on a new Cummins. I guess Im the one that made the mistake. I wonder if GMC customer service would be better after spending $60,000. I keep getting told someone would call me in 24 hours still waiting. Im glad that a 3rd party service center is helping me because if they wouldnt be right now I can tell you some Chevy or GMC dealership would be getting a RAM as a trade in. My faith in RAM is gone and Im out thousands of dollars for parts and missing appointments because my new truck is broke down. Thanks but no thanks.

I drive a 2001 Dodge Ram, 2WD, 5.9L Magnum V8, 46RE 4-speed auto, my father
I drive a 2001 Dodge Ram, 2WD, 5.9L Magnum V8, 46RE 4-speed auto, my father was the first owner, and I can say for either of us, the experience has been nothing but great. Ive put around 15,000 miles on it myself, and the total mileage is 122k miles just about now. The dealerships have been very trustworthy and capable when my dad owned it. I personally have done all repairs myself though since I started driving it. Reliability? Pretty good.Back when I was around 10 years old and my dad drove it, it was a snowy cold day and my dad somehow got the dumb idea to drive it up the neighborhood hill to check on us while we were sledding. He got stuck, obviously, and had my mother give it some gas while trying to push it. My mother decided give it gas meant just hammer the pedal to the floor, and she redlined it for a solid ten seconds while my dad was yelling to stop. The engine was bone cold when this happened and it snapped a valve spring. Im sure most people on here would blame Dodge for that, but thats just plain stupidity that caused it. Thankfully the valve didnt fall into the cylinder and the repair was simple. At around 90k miles the torque converter failed, but didnt take the rest of the transmission with it so that was good.I have a friend who works for Chrysler and he told me that they had a problem with some sneaky workers throwing bits of trash in the torque converters during assembly to sabotage them, and it took quite a long time for them to figure out who was doing it. I found this pretty interesting. When I started driving it (105k miles), I changed out the shocks which made it drive wonderfully, and the ball joints were worn out, one of them started getting noisy, so I replaced all four of them. Chrysler somehow thought it was a good idea to rivet them to the control arms, which made replacing them awful. I sat in my driveway with a drill and angle grinder removing 14 rivets, and it was quite a nightmare. The heater core started leaking, which really can happen on anything, so I replaced it and also replaced the totally cracked and fallen apart dash pad (huge problem on these 2nd gens). I decided I wanted to install a shift kit in the transmission, so I did that and saw there was quite a bit of friction material in the pan. The front band was pretty worn out, and judging by the gunk I saw in the pan, it was about time for a full rebuild of the transmission. I started preparing to do that and one school morning I shifted it into reverse, and had to give it a TON of gas to get out of the driveway. When I got home that day I had no reverse so I knew it was time (did the rebuild at 120k miles).During the rebuild, my findings were that the clutch packs looked pretty great for the mileage, and the loss of reverse was due to the rear servo cracking. Id imagine this was caused by the increase of line pressure by the shift kit, but rear servo failures in 46REs arent unheard of in totally stock circumstances, so who knows. The failure of the rear servo caused the servo pin to stick open, cinching the rear band down extremely tight and shredding the friction material. This also ruined the rear drum. The front band was indeed worn out, and if it had run any longer it would have destroyed the front drum in a few thousand miles.I completed the rebuild for about $1000, however if I had used OEM spec parts it would have cost me around $400 to bulletproof it. The parts I used are for extreme horsepower and drag racing situations, and the transmission is good for around 800hp now. It shifts extremely quick now and this truck is a total blast to drive. If youre looking at a 1994-2001 Dodge Ram, what I can tell you is that the engines are incredibly reliable and have ton of low end power, the transmissions are very well designed and easy to work on while having some easily fixable weak points, the dash pads WILL crack if they havent already, the frame is incredibly strong, and the truck is a good solid truck that will last you for many years and many miles if you take good care of it. 5 stars!

Where do I start? My truck is a 2016 RAM 2500 6.7 Diesel. 4k miles on it. Ive only had it 3 months and been to dealer twice each month since bought it. Windows had bubbles in them. Alignment issues - pulls to the right. Service manager said this is very common meant while my front tires are wearing out badly. Shimmy at steering wheel at hwy speeds. Service ABS system displays at every start. Told be service rep, basically not to expect much since most of these trucks i.e 2500 are all doing it that it will continue to have a pull on the alignment. Going in to dealer again tomorrow second time in one month for same issue on alignment.

We bought a Ram truck, it is the nicest vehicle we have ever owned. My husband drives it as his main vehicle, but I do drive it too. We have not had any problems with this vehicle, and it is a 2016. But we wish it got better gas mileage, but thats a dream. I do think it cost too much, it was more than our first house. That was a hard pill to swallow. I dont like black interior, this truck has cream colored seats and brown trim, it is beautiful. My husband keeps it washed and vacuumed every week.

2014 Dodge Ram 3/4 Ton Diesel Laramie - The day I brought the truck home It showed a problem with the tire sensors. I called the dealer to make appointment asap and since then it has been in 3 times for the same problem this time now they have had it for seven days and still nothing! I do believe the dealer is trying but Chrysler is not interested or really not into customer service. The only answer I get is Chrysler engineering is working on it (BS). This is the first Dodge I have ever owned and will most likely be the last. I have always bought Ford Trucks but all my friends had Dodges and talked very highly of them so thought I would try - bad mistake. Call me if you want more details.

2016 Ram 2500 Cummings Diesel Laramie, purchased 3.5 months ago brand new and has been in the shop for 11 days with front end noise and vibration issues that started at 4600 miles. The truck is still at the dealer with no answer how they will fix or when I will get it back. Very disappointed with Manufacture! I would not command purchasing any product from this manufacture.

My Ram stopped in the middle of road 3 times now. First time I took it to the dealer they replaced a cable. Second time they replaced the mpc because the water went in it. It has been raining but I cant even take it to a car wash. And now the third, the engine cut off. The dealer is telling me its the alternator and its not covered under warranty because it was muddy. The cost is approx $2000. Let me just say that when I bought the Ram for work, it was to be able to travel in a construction site. Even they advertise it going in mud, mountains etc. I am very disappointed of this truck. Seems that I wont be able to take to work anymore and leave it in the parking at home since it wont survive mud. Never going to buy a Dodge truck ever again. The 60,000$ truck is not made for construction people.

I purchased a used ram 3500 for use on my farm and to pull my camper and haul my sxs back in Feb 2016 with 44,000 miles on it. In July 2016 took a trip to Florida and the check engine light came on. Took in when I returned home they reprogrammed the pcm. hence turned off the light. At the end of July 300 miles later I went to Tenn. The light came on again on my return home. 30 miles from home the traction control 4 wheel drive and anti lock brake lights came on. So I scheduled an appointment for the following Friday. Dropped it off at 8 am the 5th of Aug. They have put 4 or 5 parts on it all have had to be ordered. They still have the truck 3 going on 4 weeks later and the part they say it now needs is on national back order until the 6th of Sept. I have tried to get my money back as its holding me up on things I need to do. The dealer says no and Chrysler complaint dept has done nothing but follow up with the dealer occasionally calling me... saying that it doesnt qualify for a buyback. How do you sell vehicles you can keep parts for and how long is too long to have to wait? My patience are done... MY SUGGESTION IS DO NOT BUY A RAM PRODUCT CAUSE THEY DO NOT BACK THEM. Since I work with the public and go above and beyond to keep my customers satisfied, I believe this is very poor customer service.

2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie 4x4.5.9 Cummins, AT - I bought my 2005 in 2005 with 44,000 miles on it from a dealer In Victorville Ca. The first owner bought, sold trailers out of state and used the heck out of this towing for 11 months. It was in good shape so, I own it now. Price reflected the high miles. It has just over 108,000 on it now. I tow a 10,000 toy hauler with it, some times up high in the mountains. Not towing Hwy 18.6mpg at 65mph/16.5 at 75mph. Towing 14.5 at 65mph. Do not drive 75mph with that trailer. 1800 RPM is sweet spot for torque to fuel mileage. The brakes and BF Goodrich tires were replaced at 44,000 mile purchase date. I just put my first tires on it at 108,000. Brakes in front are almost ready to be replaced as well as the upper and lower ball joints (Darn heavy Cummins). I have serviced the engine every 3,000 miles. Serviced cooling system and gear boxes at 90,000 miles. Automatic trans at 75,000 miles. I run Lucas fuel additive to help out with the occasional bad diesel I seem to get. I have been very happy with this purchase. No interior or exterior problems. This truck is not as fast or powerful as the new ones, but God bless it. It will do anything I need. I had a 2001 with the Cummins w/ 5 spd manual. I loved that truck. Before that a 1997 with the V-10. My friend is still driving it with I do not know how many miles on it. Just saying: I have had either good luck or been blessed. I am going to purchase a 2005 Rumble Bee tomorrow. Yellow and Hemi YeeHaw. Got to have something sporty for a change. No, the above rated truck is not for sale.

I made the mistake of spending $45,000 on a brand new 2016 Dodge 2500. The day I drove it off the lot I turned around and came back and said there was a problem with the transmission. I was told I didnt know what I was talking about. 3 months later was in the shop for a repair that took two and a half weeks. Since that time it has been in the shop three additional times for the transmission. I recently asked case management that is handling the issue for me how many more times I must be inconvenience before they replace the transmission. I stated its obviously defective and I was told, No its not defective because we can fix it.Theyve had four times to fix this transmission and it is yet to be fixed so in essence buying inconveniences are Unlimited as far as Dodge Chrysler are concerned. This is the third Ram truck I bought and it is the last. I will never ever purchase another Chrysler product and I would dissuade anybody from ever purchased the in Chrysler product. Im tempted to put the lemon on the truck and driving around with a sign on it that says, What an idiot. I should have bought a Ford. And to add insult to injury I have to rent my own vehicle while they have mine in the shop. Way to go Chrysler. Never again. Biggest piece of **.

I have a 2015 Ram 2500 Longhorn addition with the 6.7 Cummins diesel. My issue is with the 5 mph max de-rate feature. It has happened twice now. The first time it went off, it took the dealer 4 days to get a new injector for the def system. Now for the second time, my truck is 53 miles from a 5 mph limp mode and it is holiday weekend. I am stuck not able to use my $60000.00 truck because of this EPA GOVT BS! There needs to be another way. My truck runs fine, but I am forced to see my dealer for DEF service. WTF? There needs to be a fix. I will delete this DEF SYSTEM altogether or sell the truck. Love the truck and engine but not a fan of being told to report to dealer or drive 5 mph. That is socialism!

My 2011 Dodge Ram Laramie Crew Cab 4x4 built on 5/16/2011 and purchased on 7/24/2011 has an air turbulence problem in the A-pillars of the front doors. It has been to the dealer three times. Mine was built after they redesigned the door gaskets yet after 60 mph the turbulence becomes an issue. I cant find anything on this problem and if it is not a recall or in a TSB, Dodge doesnt seem to want to admit there is a problem or want to try and fix it. The doors were readjusted yet the issue is still there.

This has been a nightmare of gargantuan proportions. I purchased a vehicle, signed the paperwork December 9, 2019. The vehicle was finally delivered to me Friday, December 20th. It was dirty inside when I picked it up and it never worked properly. I took it back to the dealer the following Monday morning (Dec. 23rd). It is now March 11, 2020 and I still do not have a vehicle. The corporate employees I have had to deal with told me things like, they have an unlimited amount of time to decide what to do. They dont return calls in a timely manner. They are trying to get me to take another truck and charge me more, because the special that was running at the time I bought the original truck isnt applicable now. They have offered to trade vehicles for weeks, but havent agreed to a meeting time to arrange for it. I have been paying insurance and payments for a vehicle I dont have and they havent offered to reimburse me for the insurance. I posted on Dealer Rater and BBB in January and it was the only thing that got their attention, so here I am again, hoping to get this settled and, to be honest, I dont want anything to do with Dodge/Chrysler anymore at this point. I just want my money back so I can go elsewhere and purchase a vehicle that works from a dealer that cares. Oh, and the real kicker is that I have since found out that the problem with this model has been known for over four years, the parts to fix it are hard to get and one service tech said he is surprised by one of these vehicles lasting 10,000 miles before the failure occurs. Yet, they are still selling the vehicles. If they are out of warranty when the problem occurs, it costs over $7000 to fix it.

At 30000 miles needed front brakes, still had over half of original pad left. Chrysler corp would not cover premature wear. Now 2000 miles later same problem. Very unhappy with truck. I go out of my way to tell even strangers about my experience. These are not the only issues either... Hemi is week, truck shifts constantly, when in four cylinder mode the truck shudders, wont hold a gear on hills, very poor quality interior... I could go on.

I was driving home on December 8, 2016 when I noticed smoke coming from the passenger side under the dash. Within seconds flames came through the fabric under the dash and hit the floor. I pulled over as fast and safely as possible. I grabbed what I could and got out. I went to the passenger side and attempted to put out the flames but I failed. I called 911 and within minutes the FD arrived on scene.I contacted Chrysler about the fire and they hired an investigator. He contacted me and I explained what I saw. 3 weeks later I got a letter in the mail saying it is not a manufacture defect. The thing that got me from the letter was We are sure you will appreciate, fire of this nature can and do occur for a number of reasons not associated with the manufacturing process. Then tell me how does a 2015 truck catch fire inside the cab while driving at 65 mph? Im not a smoker and the truck was all stock. I would not recommend anyone buy anything from Chrysler. They do not stand by their products.

2014 RAM 2500 6.7 Cummins Limited top of the line 4x4 - I bought this truck new in Florida in Sept of 2014. Little did I know. Since then, it has spent close to 40 days in the dealership on over 10 occasions for a variety of problems. Electrical, suspension and worst of all, engine issues. The DEF system has caused two breakdowns out of town (you get this wonderful warning that your engine will go into limp mode-5mph in 150 miles). Great when youre over 150 miles away from home. The DEF tanks, heater, gauges and complete exhaust including emissions have been replaced. Yeah, the FEDs have made these problems and I dont think any diesel manufacturer has avoided issues. Anyway, I had it. After spending $70,000 on a truck that breaks down all the time, I used Floridas lemon law and Chrysler didnt even argue with me on it. In the middle of getting another vehicle, but still driving mine. While waiting for a replacement (going with gas), the tailgate got stuck closed and still is. The truck handles nice, has a great stereo and is super comfortable but enough is enough. I read some of the same issues with the RAM eco-diesel. Anyway, I know that pre-DEF diesels are great but if you are considering a new one, forget it. You will hate yourself after the warranty expires.

Purchased a 2007 2500 Dodge 5.9 SLT new. Have had very few problems with the truck except AC compressor which began overheating and would not cool. Had to the dealer several times before they finally replaced it. More recently in late August 2015 the Shift Cable broke. Had it towed to the dealer. After 4 or 5 days they checked and agreed it was broken. When asked when it would be repaired I was advised that the part was on back order (over 800) and would not be available until 14 November 2015. Very irritated I accepted the fact that I would not have my truck for a while. I check often for updates and recently told that it would be 9 December 2015 before part would be available.Irritated by the delays I contacted Dodge Customer Service and lodged my complaint. The customer service rep called four days later, apologetic, and advised that the part would not be available until late January 2016 or early February 2016. Dodge has a parts supplier problem since contractors provide them to Dodge. My complaint with this is bad suppliers and bad management. If in August there were already over 800 on back order what is the problem. This is obviously not an aftermarket part or they would be available.

We purchased our 2019 Dodge Ram Lone Star on Labor Day of 2018, from All-Star Dodge in Canyon, TX. We live on 3 miles of dirt road, out in the country! The cab of our NEW pickup fills up with dirt every time we go down it! So much it’s suffocating! I’ve taken our truck to All-Star and they took pictures and they sent them into Chrysler, but they said the doors looked completely sealed. Since then I’ve sent MORE pictures and a video to Salvador at All-Star and still nothing is being done!??? My advice, don’t buy one of these, if you’re going to be driving it on dirt roads!! That’s pretty much why we own/buy trucks, because we live on a dirt road!! We own Fords and have owned Chevys and NEVER have we had dirt filling the cab, of our other pickups anytime!! Oh and I’m VERY OCD, about keeping my vehicles clean, at all times and I CAN’T KEEP THIS ONE CLEAN, AT ALL ON THE INSIDE!! We’ve had this truck starting January 1, 2019 goin on 5 months, that being said! I’ve been inhaling all the dirt and continue to, all this time and have been sneezing, coughing and dealing with sinus infections, from this crap! I’m headed back to Amarillo today 12-29-18, so YES I’m going to All-Star Dodge AGAIN & gonna see about getting someone higher up the ladder or having Salvador call someone higher than him!! Sick of this crap!! Oh yes and the trucks under warranty and I’ve already heard that All-Star Dodge will not/do not stand behind their word of, “We will take care of our customers!” So DON’T SHOP THERE!!

I have been a brand loyalist since 1986. This is my 6th RAM truck. We factory ordered a 2018 2500 HD 6.4 SLT with the options we wanted and needed for towing. Truck was delivered 12/2017. The day after delivery we noticed an abnormal start up noise from the engine compartment. With less than 100 miles we took it into a local dealer for inspection. After 7 inspection, demonstration and repair visits. 21 days in service and 8 months of driving with a monoxide sensor on the dash. FCA determined that the truck exhaust leak could not be fixed. They offered to replace the truck or refund our money. We elected to order an exact replacement truck. Frankly, other than the exhaust leak, this is the best RAM truck we have owned. All other functions, features, performance and comfort are 5 star. We received the replacement truck 1/2019. At 80-100 miles the replacement truck developed the same noise. FCA, Ramcares and our dealer found it hard to believe that one customer could receive 2 factory defects for exhaust leak. We have asked FCA and our dealer to repair the leak. We are not going to order another truck or take our money back. This truck is going to be fixed. At this time we have not received a response to our request for repair. We have done a full investigation of this issue/problem. It is a known problem on some 2500 HD 6.4 trucks. The cause is in part the assembly process and in part the design and parts quality. We have gotten some great intelligent help from MOPAR parts people, RAM techs and the internet. We have decided to order the repair parts and have a qualified outside tech repair the truck properly at our expense. We will address FCA-RAM when the repairs are completed. Dodge-RAM has come a long way in product quality and customer satisfaction over the last 30 years. I believe the companys recent decision to have the head of RAM focus only on the RAM Brand will result in correction of these type of quality problems. However, senior management needs to get out in the field and engage the reputational risk that the brand is experiencing. The vendor parts quality issues and assembly issues can be fixed.

I am a dog trainer. I needed a good, dependable truck for my business. Lots of my friends have Dodge Rams (different versions) and one has over 400,000 miles on his Diesel. I pull horse trailers. I am on the road a lot and need good transport for dogs and me. So, after much research and recommendations of Dodge Ram, I decided to go that route. When I looked it up under consumer research articles, it was one of the highest recommended trucks on the road.Just last week (October, 2014), my dealership sent me a letter wanting to buy back my truck for a good sum. Stated this was the most popular model and they were in desperate need of them and had a waiting list of people. At that time, I had only $2,000.00 before paying off my Dodge Ram. I opted not to sell my truck to the dealership and trade up. I needed a vehicle that would last me at least 200,000 miles and keep me free of truck payments for at least 5 years. Then I would trade up, or not, depending on how well my truck was holding up. I have always done the proper maintenance on my truck when it was needed. Oil change, fluid changes and checks, tire rotations, new brakes, new tires and babied it, because hey, its a Dodge Ram and will last me at least 10 years or 200,000 miles. Needless to say, that was not to be. On a trip home from Illinois, just across the Indiana line, my truck blew the engine. When the mechanics checked my truck and took the head off, it showed every bit of 100,000 miles. After much discussion and more research, I was told that this particular model, 2008 dodge Ram 1500 had aluminum in the valves and should have had steel. No wonder it fell apart at 6,000 miles out of warranty. The story gets better. Because I lost compression in my truck, I lost almost all control of my brakes and steering. I was in Poseyville, Indiana at the time. It almost cost me a dog grooming parlor, but fortunately I was able to get the truck into the gravel parking lot and stopped. I have called around to see my options and presently I am at $5,000.00 to get a rebuilt engine and have it installed. My truck is at a friends in another state and it cost me $350.00 to have it towed to their house. Towing it back to Kentucky was financially out of the question. My full coverage insurance refunded me $80.00 of this. So, now I am out of a work vehicle and I have no vehicle to drive. That puts me in the position of making the rest of my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck payments (I owe a whomping $2000.00) and the cost of renting a car until I can save the money to have mine fixed. At that point I will have to sell it or whatever. But I still have to pay my house payment, utilities, office rent space for my business, etc.I am not whining, I am not feeling sorry for myself, so you haters and naysayers keep it to yourself. I am thoroughly pissed that I researched a truck, did my best to make the right choice for my business and now I am out a vehicle. Bottom line; This was not a used truck. It was a brand new, right off the show room floor vehicle, cared for and babied (yes, I can prove it... I have every oil change and filter, etc. ever put on it) because I tried to choose the right vehicle for me. It lasted less than 4 years, and has 106,000 miles on it... and I paid a very hefty price for this piece of junk that was touted as one of the best trucks on the market.Kentucky’s useless Lemon Laws: The Kentucky Lemon Law applies when, during the first year or 12,000 miles (whichever comes first), following delivery of a new vehicle: The dealer has attempted to repair the same problem four (4) or more times, or the vehicle has been out of service for repair at the dealership for a cumulative total of 30 days or more. To qualify for the Lemon Law, the problem must substantially impair the use, value, or safety of the automobile. Vehicles leased after July 15, 1998 are also covered. Kentucky Informal Dispute Resolution System or Arbitration: Kentucky requires manufacturers to provide new vehicle owners with a cost-free informal dispute resolution system. The decision is binding on the manufacturer but not the consumer. You qualify if the dispute happened in the first two (2) years or 25,000 miles (whichever comes first), and you are a Kentucky resident AND you purchased the vehicle in Kentucky.

I have never owned a bigger heap of junk. I bought a 2014 Ram 2500 diesel brand new with 249 kilometers on it and at 300 it went in because the 3rd brake light on roof filled with water shorted out and caught fire. Truck was 2 days old. Had to rent a car while being fixed. Then ever since that issue it has broke down every 1000 kilometers since. As of today (December 7, 2018) truck has had over a hundred repairs. On its 5th set of new tires second complete set of brakes oil pan has fell off twice trans pan once. Track bar 3 times now. Two front ends and endless wiring issues. Now if all that isnt enough apparently they need constant 150$ radio updates and it doesnt let you know. Just one day doesnt start. Tried lemon law and they dont cover anything larger than 1500. Tried trade in. Its worthless. This truck has scared me to not ever buy another new vehicle again. Its been replaced with a 1980 Chevrolet K30. My paperwork I built for the lawyer handling my case on truck is over an 1-1/4 thick. If you ever thought about what its like to own a Dodge let me tell you. Id rather run through a live minefield wearing snowshoes and get a kick to groin repeatedly for an hour than buy or ride in another fiat deathtrap.

We are coming to you for help, on June 14, 2018 our 2018 Dodge Ram 2500 wit
We are coming to you for help, on June 14, 2018 our 2018 Dodge Ram 2500 with only 8,200 miles on it broke down on our way home in SC at midnight. Leaving us and our 2 children stranded on the side of 95. Chrysler warranty only covers towing to closest Dodge dealership. This is how we ended up with our vehicle at Plaza Dodge dealership. We are getting the runaround from the service Dept (Jon) & warranty guy handling our case (Tim). They have had our vehicle for 3 weeks with no end in sight. Last week we were lied to by both Jon & Tim about what was wrong with it (saying it was the rear overrunning gear) and that parts had been ordered. On Monday this week Jon called and said that no parts have been ordered, in fact our transmission had not been taken apart or touched all last week. On Tuesday this week Jon called my husband and said now they believe it to be a seal in the transmission and have ordered parts but it will now be next week for them to come in. He then turned around and called me and said some parts had been ordered but some were on back order and he did not know when they would come in. This truck is not only our personal truck (we tow our camper with this for our son’s travel ball tournaments) but it is also my husbands company truck (we own Marsh Lawn Care). We need it back or answers. We only have had it since April 27. We bought it brand new from Cary Auto Mall. We called them on June 14 to see if they could help us since we had just bought it and were told “why would we help you, we are not reaping the benefits of the warranty work”. I think all Dodge Ram consumers should know how poorly the new trucks are built & how little help warranty company is in getting them back to you in a reasonable timeframe.

My brother and I purchased a brand new 2014 Ram 3500 4x4 cc with 6.4 hemi from Tri- Cities Jeep/Dodge/Ram in Kingsport, TN. The night we purchase it 12 miles from the dealership, the loose gas cap light comes on then the check engine light. I continue on home because we werent done till 10 pm dealership closed. The next morning I go back, take it to service, explain what happened and they apologize, agree to usher right in to be checked. Three hours later they come get me and tell the gas cap was loose, I didnt tighten it correctly. It and check engine code reset, all is good. BTW I did not fill it up the dealership did. Later that same day, have driven my truck 43 miles since purchase, the lights come on again. The next day I return to the dealership and explain my displeasure and disgust. They tell me they need the truck for 4-6 hours to smoke test emissions system for leak which now appeared with loose cap light but they cant provide loaner car which is part of Car-Doc warranty I got with the truck. I schedule appointment for following Wed at 8 am. I took the truck in and set for 3 hours while they test it. The results are no leaks, has to be a loose gas cap, they flashed computer to clear codes, should all be good just be sure to tighten gas cap properly. This set me off, I have been driving for 25 years and surely have tightened a gas cap before as I explained to this young man. I proceeded to my salesman and asked for them to fill my truck up again, since most of my first tank of gas was used going back and forth to have light fixed. They did refill it. As I get on my street the light comes back on for the 4th time. I called back and told them I want it taken in and kept till fixed and I need a loaner for my business. I am told they dont have loaner trucks and I would have to wait on a list for a loaner car!!! I have owned several Dodges and used this dealer 3 times but I am thinking I am done with both. Should have bought Ford!!!!

I have ordered a new 2013 Laramie Quad cab 4X4 1500 pickup. There was some confusion in determining what items were standard, etc. So after I ordered it, I wanted to build it on your Ram Trucks site to verify the options, etc. Your site just does not work and to this day, I cannot build the truck I ordered. I became so frustrated that I considered cancelling the order even if I lost my earnest money and purchase a Ford or Chevy. I cannot understand why any management group would allow a sales site to be online that is so terrible and basically does not work property. If I were a shareholder of Chrysler, I would show up at the annual meeting and see if I could get a reasonable response. I am sure as a repeating customer I have no influence.

I purchased my 2015 Dodge Ram Eco Diesel from a custom build on Dodge website. To date my truck has been in the service shop in excess of over a 100 days. In fact it had to be towed on Thursday due to another problem. Dodge or should I say Chrysler Canada has been zero help. Getting a case manager from Dodge is a complete waste of time. Do NOT buy a Dodge. I rely on my trucks for work as I am in construction - the most unreliable vehicle ever - the service departments are equally terrible especially Harris Dodge. Always multiple visits and they never seem to fix the problems. I am by no means exaggerating by anything other than a Dodge!!!

Bought a 2015 Ram 1500 quad cab. I tried the window lock and only the back 2 windows lock not the right front. Well after dealing with a dealer they finally got back and said this is the way it should be. I dont buy it. I wonder if it locks on a 2 door truck? Contacted other dealers on problem. All said right window should lock. Contacted my dealer. They sent me paperwork that this is normal operation for the ds trucks. I dont why they would allow this being in my case kids or dog can roll window down. Not good!

I was driving my 2013 Ram 2500 with under 10,000 miles and it shut down to what seemed like one cylinder running, with an awful knocking noise. Was towed to the dealer. Ended up having a broken valve spring, 2 bent pushrods, and 2 lifters had to be changed. Rather than change the engine, they said there was no internal engine damage and would fix it. With the noise it made Im shocked theres no other internal damage. They fixed it and sent me on my way.A month later I change the oil and it was full of metal flakes. I guess when they diagnose for internal damage they do not look at the oil. I cant understand that. I called about the issue and they said I should not be doing my own maintenance and theres no proof that there was any metal in the oil because I changed it. How else would I have found this out? They have no idea where the metal could have came from but theres enough to make golf ball sized ball. Told me I was covered by the engine warranty and they would do nothing further to the truck and still deny theres internal engine damage. So I will continue to drive it circulating metal. They didnt even want it back to flush it out.A month later the check engine light is on so I have the code read with a reader at Auto Zone. Theres something wrong with the oil pump. Instead of replacing the engine they are going to keep making me bring it back, an hour away, to keep repairing it until the warranty is over. This engine should have been replaced, not band-aided. My $46,000 truck has rebuilt engine, more internal damage that they will not acknowledge, and only has 11,000 miles on it. Chrysler does not stand by their products and has no interest in making it right. Just wanted to warn others about what happens with Chrysler products when theres an issue.

We have a 2004 Dodge 2500 in EXCELLENT condition. Driver side bed has rusted out over the rear wheel. Two separate body shops have refused to repair the rust citing bad metal or primer for that specific year. Recommendation is to replace the entire skin, cost approximate $2000 not including labor and paint. Any help??

I purchased a new 2013 Ram 3500 Dually Longhorn. I currently have 83,000 miles on the truck. I have towed my 21000LB 5th wheel camper 17,000 miles. I am very impressed with the quality and the capabilities of this truck, I have had two issues with the truck thus far, a def injection/DPF exhaust part failure, and, a seized water pump. Both times the dealer service was quite good. I would buy another one. I just sold my 2001 Ram Cummins 2500 with 307,000 miles. It was an excellent truck. I replaced it with a 2017 Ram 1500 Longhorn. I hope it does as well. So far so good, I love the Ram boxes and the cargo management system.

Bought a Dodge Ram 1500 new on 3/3/2008. It came with lifetime power train warranty. Today, the trucks engine broke down and Chrysler is nullifying the warranty. Their reasoning is that there was an inspection due at the five-year point and it was not done. My problem is that the first time I heard of this inspection was today.

I am very discouraged with the ordering Dodge trucks process. I ordered exactly what I wanted on/and its now August 5th and still has not moved through the building process at the Michigan plant. WTH is going on. VIN is was assigned only a few weeks after but its stuck in D status which is not even through the line yet. This is not the 4-8 weeks that I thought it was going to be. Now they are saying it could be the eTorque or the Ram boxes that is holding it up. I think this is unexceptionable. If you can choose on the main Ram truck website what you can order then why cant they build it in a timely manner?

2008 Dodge Ram 3500 with a severe front-end wobble. I purchased this vehicle used from a Chevy dealership with 46000 miles on it. At 50000 miles I had a violent wobble that started at the right side of the vehicle, spreading to the left, then moved to the back of vehicle. This wobble shook all in the cab of the truck. I returned the vehicle to the dealership where it was purchased in April 2011. There was no problem found with the front of the vehicle, so the dealership contacted a local Chrysler dealership that had no knowledge of known front end problems but suggested it could be caused by a worn tire. This dealer rotated the tires, balanced, and did a front-end alignment, which was covered by an extended warranty I had purchased; yet no failed components were found. This death wobble (as shown on the net) continued and at the present time it is at a Chrysler dealership. I have been contacted by the business stating they found no failed components, so the insurance will not cover any repairs; but the dealership feels it is the steering box linkage, which can be replaced at one thousand dollars (my cost) without a guarantee that it will fix the problem. Chrysler has known about the problem for years and has not come up with a solution to a poor design and will not assist in any repairs. The problem is covered in issue #74 of the TDR (Turbo Diesel Resource) where it talks about possible repairs and after-market business, such a Genos Garage, where they are marketing a BD steering box stabilizer which they state “will eliminate the wobble.” I checked with the NTSB for complaints, only to be advised there have been no deaths reported caused by this wobble. I want consumers to use caution when purchasing a used vehicle 2500 or 3500 Dodge Ram, but I also know that all vehicles does not have the problem or just not reported.

Since we got the Ram Dodge 2007 1500 pickup in 2008 from the dealership, the 4 wheel drive truck will all of a sudden die when I hit some bumps on our dirt road where we live (I am not 4 wheeling either, I have kids in the car). This happens randomly. We have taken it in now for 3 times. First time, they said they saw that it happened on the computer. However, the second and third time, they said they didn’t see it and that it was because my key chain was too heavy. Since 2008, it has died while driving on my dirt road at least 8 times. I just pray it never does it on a bumpy road, on the freeway or highway. Does anyone else have this problem? I don’t take it to the dealership anymore because they say it is because of my keys. Well, I changed it so now it is light so it can’t be that.

My Dodge Ram had 500000 miles on it when I got rid of it. No disappointments. I never replaced 1 injector, normal wear and tear. It went through brakes. Other than that, it was a great truck. All truck makers have little quirks, lights that burn out, front and back. Some switches, electrical.

This is my third Dodge Ram truck and it has been in service 16 times in 2 years. I have had everything from a drivers airbag warning light taking 5 trips to get fixed (and I had to live with while driving 3,000 miles across the country) to multiple DEF problems with the last one resulting in the entire replacement of certain systems. Perhaps the most troubling aspect of this truck is how many times there is a software update affecting the performance of the engine and mileage. 3 updates ago my mileage dropped 25%. The most recent update has restore much of this. As reported by others, the front end does not hold alignment and at 20,000 had to replace one front tire. The dealer here in Salt Lake City has both had their hands tied by Ram warranty service requirements (resulting in multiple trips) as well as having them drill through my brake line while doing another recall changing the bracing in my front end for which I did not receive any notice. That is another troubling aspect of the New Ram company. They wait until your truck comes in to tell you oh, we have a recall rather than sending any notification. The last two times I took my truck in resulted in the truck being gone for 3 days the first time (I just took it in for an oil change) to 5 days the last time for the DEF warning again resulting in both multiple recall changes and having my brake line drilled. I simply do not trust the truck any longer for long distant trips and hauling. Honestly, I think much of the blame has to go to Fiat and how they allow dealers to address problems and issues. Its like dealing with a health insurance claim. I have little doubt this story is playing out all over the Chrysler network as well.

A week ago, on June 25, 2013, I arrived home at 4 pm and left with a friend and was notified by my neighbor at 6:30 pm that my truck which had been parked since 4 pm was fully engulfed in flames. He held water from the garden hose on it until the VFD arrived to extinguish what was left. The end result is that from the cab forward, it is totally burned to the ground. With only liability insurance on it, its a total loss with no idea how it caught on fire. The point of origin looks to be from the drivers side fender well area under the hood. Ive heard numerous rumors of the fuse boxes shorting out, and/or the avs shorting out causing the fire. Thus far, Ive not seen or heard of any recall from Dodge. Can anyone guide me to the correct direction for restitution for my truck that was in great condition with many more miles of dependability left in it or so I thought? Is Dodge going to stand behind their product that has been proven by other owners to have this problem and make good for it? Or just keep taking our money for vehicles with a lifespan of maybe lasting long enough to pay them off before just having to dispose of it?

The truck was purchased used from the second owner, so it has some issues. Overall though, it is a good truck. It has not had any major mechanical problems, only minor ones. The truck always runs, is very reliable and dependable. Also, the price was right for what we could afford at the time. It was in good shape for the year. The dash was in one piece, which is unusual for a used truck. Normally, the dashes are cracked and broken from the sun and heat. The title was clear. We ended up making a new friend as well. I like that the truck is blue plus it is a basic model. It has manual locks and windows. It is just a good work truck. However, the heater comes on when you press the brake, so it has to be disabled during the summer. Also, before the brakes get warmed up, be careful and slowly press them or you may end up hitting your head on the steering wheel. Once they warm up, they are like normal brakes though. The windshield needs to be replaced because it is cracked as well.
