When buying a vehicle normally buy to use not to always to be in the shop for repairs and waiting on parts or recalls. Frustration part is Ram dont care. If they would have developed a good vehicle from the start the EcoDiesel owners would not have this problem. Have tried to get Ram to buy back or supplement rebate on a gas truck with no success. Buyers beware of Rams EcoDiesels. If buying a truck to have at home think twice.

Dodge RAM has had a long-term, well-known problem where sometimes when the driver hits a small bump in the road the truck starts shaking violently and wont stop until the truck slows way down. The claim is that it has been fixed in the 2013 model but it has happened to my 2013 RAM 3500 three times. The truck has 13000 miles and is in perfect condition. I took it to the dealer and at first he claimed that hed never heard of the death wobble. I showed him dozens of internet articles, including references to many notices to the dealers about this problem. After that he admitted that he knew about it but said there was nothing he could do. He inspected the truck and said that it looks perfect. Only it still has the death wobble. Now what?

This 2015 Ram makes the third new Ram for me. That being said the third was not the charm. My first was a 2006 Ram 2500 which was a good truck. A lot of recalls but all in all good truck traded with 50,000 miles. Second one was a 2011 3500 mega cab. Dual climate control was out when I drove it off the lot. 10 to 12 mpg which was bad. Third brake light and sun roof leaked, dash rattled 24/7 and 4wd would not work half the time. Really disappointed in that truck traded with 19,000 miles. So I bought my third truck which is the 2015 ram 2500. This truck is so weak Id rather pull with a 1500 and the transmission slips for the first 1/8 mile in morning. Truck now has 9000 miles. So in my opinion Im done with Ram trucks. As soon as I can trade this truck its gone. Take this review how you like. This is just my experience with Ram trucks.

I purchased a brand new 2014 Dodge Ram 2500 Megacab with a Cummins and it is the single most regrettable purchase I have ever made. The truck feels like its built to fall apart. It shutters and jerks when I get off the gas. It clunks into and out of gear like a 20 year old truck. There are rattles I can hear already in front and back. The key is currently stuck in the ignition for the 5th time since I bought it and I have a tow truck on the way. Ive driven Fords for 20 years and NEVER dealt with any of this. Do yourself a favor and pick up a Ford. Or, if you insist on a Dodge, contact me and Ill give you a good deal on mine.

Bought a 2015 Ram 1500 quad cab. I tried the window lock and only the back 2 windows lock not the right front. Well after dealing with a dealer they finally got back and said this is the way it should be. I dont buy it. I wonder if it locks on a 2 door truck? Contacted other dealers on problem. All said right window should lock. Contacted my dealer. They sent me paperwork that this is normal operation for the ds trucks. I dont why they would allow this being in my case kids or dog can roll window down. Not good!

My 2013 Dodge 1500 5.7 Hemi has a bad head and has been in the shop for 10 days. Took a week for them to figure out what was wrong. Now I was told that the head is on back order and it my take another 3-4 days before I get my truck back. I ask for a loaner truck so I could pull my boat and they said they could not help me. This would have been a real problem if I was out of town and could not have been able to pull my boat home. I think I will be trading this truck off as soon as I get it back. Poor service at the dealer in the way they handle this problem. I feel they could have put a new motor in my truck by now and here is set without a truck. No more Chrysler products for me.

I have owned 3 2001 Dodge Ram quad cabs. I purchased the 3 red one due to an accident in the 2nd one which totalled my truck. It saved my life. However, I am as disappointed as everyone else about the dashes cracking and Dodges refusal to do a recall. I guess they wont because they would be recalling everyone still operable which would be extremely costly. The dash on the totalled one was completely caved in when I purchased it in 2006. I had to buy a dash mat. The 3rd truck which I still own was just starting to crack in 2010 at the time of purchase. I believe the mat has helped it last longer. It continues to crack.I think they could offer owners a monetary settlement which might satisfy their gross manufacturing negligence and the owners having to deal with it on a daily basis. I have other issues with my current truck but believe they are from normal use and factors not necessarily related to Dodges negligence. Overall it is a well built safe vehicle.

Diesel engine blown out at 65K. Bought the DODGE RAM 1500 brand new in 2016. Thought the Diesel engine would give us great long-term service - after all we have Dodge trucks as old as 2003 on the road for our contracting company. We do NOT do heavy loads nor towing, they are Quad cabs basically light hauling & crew taxi. Regular service and only 1 previous issue with mass air sensor $800 of that at dealership. The other morning, truck started normal, drive 5 miles to fuel up. Tried to start after fueling, big noise and that was it. Engine blown. Now waiting 6 days to see what they are going to do. 35,000 miles left on factory warranty and they are leaving us with no truck and guessing...

Just purchased a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 from Tate Dodge in Glen Burnie, MD 1 1/2 hrs away, 3 weeks ago. I started hearing a chirping noise at 5 mph on turns or driving straight after 4 days of purchasing. I took it to a closer Dodge dealer for inspection and they said truck has water damage . The technician says there is a lot of caked on mud, rust all the way in the bottom to top of vehicle. He explained that it shows signs of water damage. I explained this to Tate and they refused to refund me my money and no one has fixed the chirping sound.

I bought the truck used from a Dodge dealership. Used it. Had 58,000 miles on it. I was shocked I got the loan so I planned on keeping the truck for a while. When it hit 102,000 miles (out of nowhere!) I lose the transfer case and the transmission (and I never abused the truck). Actually bought a new transfer case from dodge. Cost me $3,500 and cost me the same for the transmission I had rebuilt. 30,000 miles later the same thing happen to me. I lose both of them. To make a long story short I replaced 3 transmissions and 3 transfer cases.Got the same thing from dodge about transfer case out of warranty. I swear there was a defect in the truck when it was made, I took it to good people not on backyard mechanics. No one to this day could figure out why. I would of placed a suit against dodge for all the money I spent because trucks just dont do that. The truck was never wrecked either. Last winter I put a Jasper trany and Jasper transfer case in it. Had my truck maintained all the time. Last Nov. I had to change everything because it blew out dry shafts muffler pipes. It vibrating and no one can figure it out. WELL I am extremely happy to say I got another loan and I bought me a Ford F250 Super Duty. I will never buy a Dodge Ram ever again. They would have to give it to me for me drive it.

I have a 2015 Ram 1500 Crew Cab 4x4. This truck has had problems hanging in third gear. Went back to dealer for service, no codes and they say can not duplicate problem. Next had problem with it not starting, turn key and just like the battery was dead. After 7-9 times it finally starts. While driving down interstate truck went into neutral by itself, went back to the dealer BOB ALLAN MOTOR MALL, can not duplicate problem. Now the trucks lights go out while driving complete danger to me and whoever I meet on the road. Again same deal, can not duplicate. Contacted Ram customer service. They offered me a trade in assistance program which basically is a slap in the face as anyone who has ever purchased a new truck or car knows inside of two months you are upside down when trying to trade back to the dealer. These people have taught me one thing for sure. Do not buy RAM TRUCKS. THEY WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEM ONCE THEY GET YOUR MONEY. THEY COULD NOT CARE LESS.

I been trying to have my Dodge Ram Truck 2012 fixed since earlier this year. Each time I bring the Ram to shop I been told it cannot be repaired because the part for the recall is not available. Each time I call a case is open up and a few days or weeks later the case is closed for one or another reason. The last case was open on 11/9 and I was instructed to bring the Ram to the shop. My son went to the local Dodge Country Dealer, and was told the part is not available till Feb. 2019 and there is nothing they can do. Meanwhile the Ram make a terrible noise after the gear jumps out on low speed, intersections or red lights and no one will touch it to see what the problem is because of the recall.Mrs. **, a manager, called and stated after her research between the Dodge Dealer and the Parts Department at Dodge, that recall part is only shipped out in a number of 5 and only every 7 days. We are on the list at the Dodge Country dealership but this does not help much because even that Dodge Dealer states there so many trucks and not enough parts. This is not acceptable and I request that something is done. I have a 2012 Dodge Ram Truck with a bit over 63000 miles and I am barely driving it because of the concern to cause more damage to the transmission. It seems that Dodge customer service does and cannot assist with this issue. I send letters, called, posted on the Dodge website and all I get is: Sorry there is nothing we can do back because Mopar Parts does not ship more than 5 parts at the time.

I own a 2006 Dodge Ram 5.9l, I bought it new. 2yrs ago the truck wouldnt start. Took it to the dealer and was told the fuel was contaminated and the entire fuel system needed to be replaced. It wasnt under warranty due to the reasoning and they filed against my insurance for the $13,000.00 of repairs. Now 2 more years have gone by since then and we now have the same issue, again. This time $13,000.00 out of my pocket. After looking into it and researching...Bosch told Dodge the injectors and CP3 injection pump cannot handle trash in the fuel and that dodge needed to update their filter to a lower micron (2 micron filter), which they didnt and the consumers are out thousands of dollars. Im quite surprise there isnt a class action suit for this one yet.

I have a 2008 3500 dually. I had bought the vehicle new. The dealership where I had purchased it from is 65 West of St. Louis, MO. When I purchased it, they had a special for free oil changes. So, the dealer had done all the oil changes on this truck until it hit 50,000 miles. There is a sticker on the support beam by the radiator that states that the front drive shaft should be lubed at each oil change. There is also a note in the owners manual that states that the drive shaft should be lubed. There is no zert fitting for the drive shaft and Dodge claims that it should be there, but they will not do anything about it. Dodge has taken the attitude of too bad, so sad.I had started to hear a metal grinding noise coming from the front end of the truck. I took it in to the dealership and they told me that the ball joints were bad. Lucky I had purchased the extended warranty. The warranty company did pay to have it replaced but the tech failed to drive it or check the wheel bearing. So now I have to take it back to the dealer and in hopes that the warranty company will honor it. The vehicle now has over 100,000 miles on it. I bought it only because of it having a Cummins engine.

I purchased a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 5.7 HEMI Quad Cab with 30,000 miles. It was a big purchase for me so I couldnt afford costly repairs. Well, I picked the wrong truck for that! Within the first year the truck spent a lot of time at a couple different dealers getting the dodge kinks out of it. A steering box, steering pump, 2 sets of ball joints, 2 sets of axle joints, front bearings, lower control arms, front cv drive shaft, 2 tie rod ends, clutch and flywheel, front Y pipe and sensors, wheel hub assemblies and other odds and ends. Now after so much work the steering is soo tight that every small move on the steering wheel the truck swerves in that direction and will not center itself. To add icing on the cake, even though I took good care of the body and kept it washed and waxed constantly, the clear coat is peeling off of the roof and top of the doors and rust bubbles are showing up everywhere. I drove it daily for 2 years until I parked it because I can not afford to keep repairing it or keeping the 14mpg engine fueled up. I spent hours talking to warranty reps and Chrysler and I would have been better off talking to my dog. I am simply just waiting until it is paid down enough to part with it and never look back. 2 1/2 years of nightmares and family loaners. $30K truck and I dont even trust it to haul my family.

I am a dog trainer. I needed a good, dependable truck for my business. Lots of my friends have Dodge Rams (different versions) and one has over 400,000 miles on his Diesel. I pull horse trailers. I am on the road a lot and need good transport for dogs and me. So, after much research and recommendations of Dodge Ram, I decided to go that route. When I looked it up under consumer research articles, it was one of the highest recommended trucks on the road.Just last week (October, 2014), my dealership sent me a letter wanting to buy back my truck for a good sum. Stated this was the most popular model and they were in desperate need of them and had a waiting list of people. At that time, I had only $2,000.00 before paying off my Dodge Ram. I opted not to sell my truck to the dealership and trade up. I needed a vehicle that would last me at least 200,000 miles and keep me free of truck payments for at least 5 years. Then I would trade up, or not, depending on how well my truck was holding up. I have always done the proper maintenance on my truck when it was needed. Oil change, fluid changes and checks, tire rotations, new brakes, new tires and babied it, because hey, its a Dodge Ram and will last me at least 10 years or 200,000 miles. Needless to say, that was not to be. On a trip home from Illinois, just across the Indiana line, my truck blew the engine. When the mechanics checked my truck and took the head off, it showed every bit of 100,000 miles. After much discussion and more research, I was told that this particular model, 2008 dodge Ram 1500 had aluminum in the valves and should have had steel. No wonder it fell apart at 6,000 miles out of warranty. The story gets better. Because I lost compression in my truck, I lost almost all control of my brakes and steering. I was in Poseyville, Indiana at the time. It almost cost me a dog grooming parlor, but fortunately I was able to get the truck into the gravel parking lot and stopped. I have called around to see my options and presently I am at $5,000.00 to get a rebuilt engine and have it installed. My truck is at a friends in another state and it cost me $350.00 to have it towed to their house. Towing it back to Kentucky was financially out of the question. My full coverage insurance refunded me $80.00 of this. So, now I am out of a work vehicle and I have no vehicle to drive. That puts me in the position of making the rest of my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck payments (I owe a whomping $2000.00) and the cost of renting a car until I can save the money to have mine fixed. At that point I will have to sell it or whatever. But I still have to pay my house payment, utilities, office rent space for my business, etc.I am not whining, I am not feeling sorry for myself, so you haters and naysayers keep it to yourself. I am thoroughly pissed that I researched a truck, did my best to make the right choice for my business and now I am out a vehicle. Bottom line; This was not a used truck. It was a brand new, right off the show room floor vehicle, cared for and babied (yes, I can prove it... I have every oil change and filter, etc. ever put on it) because I tried to choose the right vehicle for me. It lasted less than 4 years, and has 106,000 miles on it... and I paid a very hefty price for this piece of junk that was touted as one of the best trucks on the market.Kentucky’s useless Lemon Laws: The Kentucky Lemon Law applies when, during the first year or 12,000 miles (whichever comes first), following delivery of a new vehicle: The dealer has attempted to repair the same problem four (4) or more times, or the vehicle has been out of service for repair at the dealership for a cumulative total of 30 days or more. To qualify for the Lemon Law, the problem must substantially impair the use, value, or safety of the automobile. Vehicles leased after July 15, 1998 are also covered. Kentucky Informal Dispute Resolution System or Arbitration: Kentucky requires manufacturers to provide new vehicle owners with a cost-free informal dispute resolution system. The decision is binding on the manufacturer but not the consumer. You qualify if the dispute happened in the first two (2) years or 25,000 miles (whichever comes first), and you are a Kentucky resident AND you purchased the vehicle in Kentucky.

Well, after taking the hijacked vehicle into the dealer, they were just as puzzled as to why the truck popped the Service DEF, See Dealer message as according to their tech, the entire system checked out. Regardless, they performed a reset of the PCM and supposedly updated it to the latest version. Thus far the truck is running, but who knows if this issue will crop up again. In any case, my original rating has to stand as this is outrageous that they will put out into limp mode, on an otherwise perfectly running vehicle, after 200 miles. It would make sense to simply warn to correct the error or at least extend the range/speed to a more reasonable level.

Dodge Ram pickup. I want to start by saying this is all my personal opinion
Dodge Ram pickup. I want to start by saying this is all my personal opinion, take it or leave it, I just wanted to share my experience for anybody that is considering purchasing a diamer chrysler product. I have purchased over 179K personally of Dodge, Chrysler Jeep products, (this is not including the interest paid for financing) and I am truly upset over the lack of customer service for loyal customers as evidenced by the below correspondence from the corporation customer service. I also require fleet vehicles in my business, and have not included the dollars spent for dodge products (Trucks and Vans) in the totals.I would like to warn anyone considering a Dodge, Chrysler, or Jeep product to do your homework and remember the old adage of you get what you pay for and the mantra that I am sure that the executives of the corporation have posted on their desks: PT Barnum: there is a sucker born every minute! My fleet vehicles over the last 25 years have included all makes and models, the dodge trucks have the worst record for duration of any of the other brands we have purchased. Generally we have to retire the Chrysler products at less than 100K miles, due to major failures or repeated minor failures. I made the decision to retire a RAM 1500 at only 30K due to repeated failures, a/c, sensors, rear end, etc. although these items were all covered under warranty, in the service industry, lost time is lost money, not to mention the transportation to the dealership, and all of the other associated direct cost. We traded it in on a Ford, it now has over 250K on it and is still running strong. With only the standard wear items being replaced, tires, belts, brakes, etc. I purchased the dodge vehicles personally due to the lower initial cost and the body styles and physical appearance. SUCKER!! I write this to warn anyone that is considering a product from this company that you can either pay now, or pay later.

So after 5000 miles, the problem continued and the dealer said there is nothing they can do about it. I traded it and bought a Ford. Consequently, absolute flawless operation with the Ford F150 for years now!!!Secondly, my friend’s truck would burn out a transmission solenoid every time he put his truck in four wheel drive. Meaning, he could not take it out of four wheel. To date (2016) the dealer has NOT been able to repair the problem!! He also has numerous other problems since he purchased it and unfortunately, cant afford to buy a new truck. My opinion, Chrysler makes subpar products having so many flaws. They just cant keep up with offering corrected solutions or remedies to repair them (or just dont care to as a way of doing business). Rather, the dealers teach their employees how to double talk (lie) to confuse the customer so they (the customer) will be convinced that pigs can fly.

2011 Dodge 1500 Truck Crew Cab, Dark Red - Real simple things: The brake pedal makes a popping noise when you push it down or let it up. Ive now tried on 3 different times to get that fixed. This last time I was told they could not duplicate the problem. What a sorry excuse. The second time I was in their garage they could hear it and sprayed the brake pedal with some kind of lubricant that lasted for approximately 2 weeks, then the squeak came right back! There is a problem with the CD player, it skips towards the end of the CD songs - it rattles, and if you hit a bump, it ejects the playing CD. The mechanic claimed he could not duplicate this problem as well.So I asked Micheal (one of the service order writers) to get in the truck with me and I put in a CD less than a month old and showed him how it starts skipping towards the end of the CD. He claimed he heard it skipping, which of course it was. I am so tired of these people thinking I will just go away and live with the problems my new truck has... I guess! Ive had the truck 6 months and it has a little over 8,000 miles on it. These 2 problems I have with the truck since the first day I drove it home. At this point in time, I no longer want them to fix the CD player. I want a brand new one! I dont think they know how to fix it since the problem is still there 6 months later! I sure hope you can help me.

2012 Ram 3500. Had this truck 2 1/2 years. Its had the high mount stop light replaced 3xs to correct a water leak. Not confident its fixed, only seems to last a few months. Had radio updated 3xs before replacing to fix the nav system. The major issue is that when I slow or come to a stop I get diesel exhaust fumes coming from the vents. I have complained to the dealer about 4xs about this, they can never find anything. Last trip in last week they smelled the exhaust and replaced the EGR. Picked up truck Saturday, drove it Monday and same issue. Started a case with Chrysler. They called back and asked what is my expected outcome? Really told them take the truck and give me my money back, just dont think they know how to correct the issue and its to the point no one will ride in the truck. This is nasty, not to mention a health hazard. This is my 1st & last Chrysler product Ill ever buy.

Best 3/4 ton truck on the market in my opinion. Power is great, mileage OK and quality fantastic. The amount of purchase could be better, but for what is out there, not a better truck out there. I would stay away from the 1/2 ton though, as my experience shows the fuel mileage sucks and the Hemi has been plagued with problems.

Sold my 05 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel to buy New 2016 RAM 2500 w/ turbo diesel. After having the fuel sensing unit go out at about 45,000 miles, got it fixed under warranty luckily with 150 dollars deposit. So here I am with 65000 miles, now its the turbo actuator part. Apparently its about 3100 dollars (American) without the warranty. So I am locked to have the dealership do the work, and of course its backordered and I am out of my truck for going on 2 weeks (while renting a mini van to keep myself in business). All I can tell anyone, buy the dealership warranty before driving off the lot. Biggest mistake Ive made ever since selling my 05 Dodge Ram inline 6. As soon as I get the truck back, Im selling to buy another brand. I need a dependable truck.

Bought a demo Dodge Ram 2015 Longhorn Limited EcoDiesel with 2400km on it.
Bought a demo Dodge Ram 2015 Longhorn Limited EcoDiesel with 2400km on it. On Thanksgiving driving on a HW with my whole family, noticed burning tire smell in cabin, and a smoke behind me. I have just done rustproofing and car was standing outside for 3 days without being used as per recommendation due to drip, but found it weird that the smoke appeared after an hour of driving, did not make sense. As I was pulling over to make sure my tires are not on fire engine shut down without a warning or any type of alarm. I was towing an empty trailer which was soaked with black engine oil and after checking the oil level, there was none in the engine. After towing my truck back to the dealer and diagnostic (500$CAN) was told that they found metal shavings in oil pan, the main crankshaft bearing failed = metal shavings spread, build up pressure that blew rear main seal and due to engine oil loss resulted in catastrophic engine failure. Since in Canada warranty is only to 100000Km and I am at 141000Km, it will not be covered by a warranty, and service manager, after showing me the bill for repairs told me I should of bought an extended warranty (thanks **, for a reliable product that I bought from your dealership). Called Fiat and any one I could think of, seemed that the system is stacked against consumer. Estimate for repair is 19000$CAN plus 26h of labour, plus tax. (oh and they are on a 2 week backorder since they only make 20/week) Towed my car on my own to US dealers who are currently installing my new engine (used cost 6500USD and new 9985$ USD) and labour is 23h to do the job (usually 2 business days or less to deliver new engine). In US it is 100000miles warranty and receptionist assured me that he will look into the warranty for me on his side, not holding my breath, but after dealing with all these issues and not having a car for a month, my trust in Dodge or Fiat products has been diminished. After doing a little googling for this particular issue, a lot of info out there, bottom line there has not been a Canadian/US class action movement yet although quite a bit of engine failures stats for 2017 - 19 Fiat EcoDiesel failures per week in comparison to Cummings 2/week. Not sure where they got their stats but will look into closely. Mine is a 2015 and has even worse rep as per online reviews. Depend on my outcome with America dealer when I pick up my truck with new engine in it (so far customer service has been 100% better). As for Canadian side, I will no longer buy a car there from any dealer due to heavy monopoly, price gouging and a very poor customer service.

Steering box wore out before 50k miles.. Wasnt sure what the problem was.. but when the truck drifted continuously and had to severely correct steering constantly while driving, I figured it was alignment. At 52k I was at the dealership asking for an alignment to be done. They told me an alignment wouldnt help because my steering box is wore out. Wanted me to pay them 2800 dollars to put in new steering box and update the linkage to the heavier duty components. I was told Chrysler knows about these problems but wont fix them. Consumers have to flip the bill. I have a 2008 megacab hemi 4x4 I purchased brand new. Never has it been off roading and only towed short distances with it a few times.

I just purchased a 2014 Ram 1500 6 weeks ago with 36,000 miles on it. Every time I stop I feel a jerk, kinda like something is slipping. If it does not do it when I stop it does it when I take off! The Dodge dealer was very unhelpful. Wanting to charge me even though I have a warranty! So Im bringing it where I bought it from. Its a Nissan dealer but I figure its best to go where I purchased it. I traded a Ford truck with 170,000 miles for this truck and never had a driveshaft issue. Im wondering if I should fix this and get rid of it? Does anyone know if I can legally make them take it back? Ive only put 3,000 miles on it, it would not have been that much but I called the Dodge dealer right after I noticed it and they said it was normal, it was the brake assist!!

I have 2019 Dodge Ram lease, I’m very satisfied with the vehicle EXCEPT for the touch screen which is so attention distracting that I believe it poses a hazard for drivers. I find myself having to pull off the side of the road to operate features because the system is so complex it’s a distraction. The US Navy is getting rid of touch screens because they feel they are a danger and blame them for two recent vessel collisions. This kind of technology is highly overrated and make the vehicles less safe to drive. Knobs and buttons are easier to to navigate and safer to use. More tech is not always a better idea.

I first purchased my 2019 Dodge Ram pickup back in April, everything went great I purchased an all black Big Horn. The whole dealership came to congratulate me on being the first to purchase. I received random thumbs up from strangers I was enjoying the truck as my daily driver, picking up the kids etc. Fast forward to my current experience with my Ram and I haven’t driven it a full week since August due to my power steering locking up at random times. The most recent time was two days ago where I couldn’t even get out the driveway nor turn the truck back into my yard without the power steering hindering my turn. After sitting in the waiting area a total of 10 hours, driving 3 different loaner vehicles, I now feel like purchasing this truck was one of my worst experiences I’ve made. I know that many new vehicles have small things but I feel that the safety of my family and I has been at risk and the best I could get is a truck that locks back up the next day. Do better Dodge this is embarrassing.

I am reviewing this truck first of all because I had a total loss due to fire on a major highway in BC Canada. I had a temperature giving erratic readings prior to at about 99000 km just before drivetrain warranty was about to expire. I took the truck down to Kelowna Dodge and explained this along with other issue I was having with the truck and had all fluids changed. Paid for a diagnostic. Problem found to be a poor sensor so they replaced it but it was not covered under drivetrain warranty. Now Im out $500. I picked the truck up and it immediately had the same problem but no cooling issues.I blew a flex plate at 106000 km and it grenaded stuff near the torque converter and toasted my starter. 1.5 days later and $3500 the Abbotsford Dodge dealership. They noticed the sensor problem but said I should take it to the dealership that fixed it to begin with so as to make sure all in now covered under warranty seeing it was problematic before 100000 km. This dealership was great to deal with. I got the truck back into the Kelowna Dodge dealership and they now found it to be a water pump but covered this under warranty. This lasted one day and the same issue with the erratic coolant temperature problems. I talked to other mechanics and they all said its a head gasket and is a common problem. On the way back from the coast through the mountains the truck overheated and my temperature sensor bottomed out at 90 and stayed there and I pulled over immediately. Checked under the hood but kept everything running to allow the fans to cool things down. I called the service department again at Kelowna Dodge and asked them for their advice and they told me to limp it in if the engine is running good. Everything cooled down but the sensor was toast so I started to limp it back but its 200km through the mountains. No problems with the engine. On a big climb with everything sounding fine and taking my time the truck has smoke coming from underneath the hood on passenger side. As a result even with the attempt of a fire extinguisher we could not put it out and it burnt to the ground.I called the dealership about any recourse knowing this should have been solved and was a direct result of their own misdiagnosis and they said the only recourse is insurance however the loss of my vehicle I use for work is now gone. Essentially too bad so sad. They said Ram wont cover the resultant issue of a truck loss from a cooling problem even though under warranty. This directly affects my insurance and Dodge Ram should cover this and get me a new vehicle. If you plan to use these trucks for serious hauling I would not recommend Kelowna Dodge for service nor purchasing the Ram 3500 dually truck for commercial hauling use via reliability problems.

This truck was in the shop with just over 1000 miles on it having major components replaced and almost two years later it continues to be undependable, unsafe, glitchy, and in the Service Department repeatedly. Chrysler refuses to stand behind their product, they have ignored the warranty, they have treated me like I am fabricating issues to the point that I have started taking pictures/video of incidents that occur to prove these issues are occurring. They refuse to buy the truck back, they dont care that some of the problems are safety concerns, they just want their money and dont give a damn about the customer (who is apparently NEVER right!!). I bought a new 2012 Ram Quad cab with the hemi in April of 2012. About the time I hit 7,000 miles on the truck, I developed a nasty vibration in the truck once you leveled out the speed at around 50 MPH. Being a Mechanic for a living, I started to pay attention to this vibration and accelerated to see if I could drive out of the vibration to which I was able to. This vibration was not there all of the time. It would come and go and had a mind of its own. My wife and I went for a nice drive one day. And on our way back we were in a 30 MPH zone, leveled out speed, the truck jolted forward 2 times in about 500 feet of driving without me hitting the accelerator. At that time, I decided to make an appointment to drop the truck off at the dealer to get it checked out. When I went in to the dealership to look at vehicles for my wife, I went in to set the appointment up and spoke with the Service Manager. I started to explain to him what the truck was doing. And he knew exactly what it was doing and cut me off and told me to drive the truck and level out the speed - when it starts to vibrate, hit the tow-haul button and see if it stops vibrating. He told me that they have this complaint frequently. I did what he had asked of me to do, and it helped the problem, but did not totally get rid of the vibration. So I took the truck in and dropped it off. I told them to drive the truck to see what I was talking about and a service tech wanted to drive the truck with me. So we went for a drive and he was driving the truck. We got onto a smooth fresh paved road and sure enough, he verified the complaint. We drove back to the dealership and pulled the truck into his bay. He hooked up the computer/scanner to check for flashes (updates). To my surprise, there were several, and he said he would flash the truck and drive it again to see if one of them would cure the vibration. When we got back from sons basic training in Georgia, I went to pick up the truck. They said it was done and the flashes took care of the vibration. I got in the truck and drove away and BAM, vibration still there. So I called them again and talked to them. The Service manager stated that it was normal for this truck to do this, that he could take me to the lot and put me in any brand new RAM and it would do the same thing. I was not going for this stupidity, so I contacted Ram brand and told them of the problem. They assigned me a case manager (A Woman who sits behind a computer). I received a call from her and she told me she would contact the dealer and get back to me after she verified my complaint. When she finally called me back, she told me that they wanted to send out a district tech advisor to drive the truck. After this was done, the tech advisor reported that it was as per design and was totally normal and will not hurt anything and needs no repair at this time. I have made several calls to the case manager to no avail. The service manager actually told me that he felt 2 separate vibrations but they could not do anything without the approval of Chrysler LLCs approval, because they do not know what is causing the problem. The case manager tells me that the service manager says the truck is fine. They played me the entire time, then they tell me I have 3 choices - live with it, trade truck in for new truck and pay the difference or take to another dealer. I took to another dealer and dropped it off with them. They verified the vibration and did some serious investigating and said that they believe it is related with the torque converter but cannot do anything as of yet until it gets worse. We purchased a travel trailer in June which weighs 6,400 LBS. This truck has shifting issues when pulling this camper, and at times when shifting into final gear, it slams/clunks and shifts very hard. So now here I sit, 21,000 miles on the truck and still nothing done about it. Did a Google search on this complaint and my oh my, the complaints of this exact issue and yet nothing gets done about it. Before this problem became so severe, and I figured Chrysler would take care of this, we purchased a brand new 2012 Journey Crew fully loaded and 2 brand new 2012 Avengers for the kids, and this is how they treat us… My brother in law has the exact same truck and does not have this problem at all, yet they say it is as per design... HMMM.

The 1994 through 1997 Dodge Rams with the V10 engine had an ignition control module that selected the proper ignition coil. About 2002, Dodge discontinued this part (#56027978). As a result, when this part fails, the engine will only run on 6 cylinders and since there are no replacements, the truck is unrepairable. In my case, I have a truck with only 112,000 miles on it and it is only good for salvage. Retail value on this truck is about $8500 if it were running right, and I will have to eat the loss as the dealer wont even take it as a trade-in.

2014 Ram 1500. 1000 miles after purchase. Horrible gear hunting between 2/3 - 3/4. Trans bangs at highway speed when you hit gas to pass. Trans sometimes revs with no power. Clunk first time you hit gas after start every time. Vibration in drive shaft felt in gas pedal at 2000rpms every time. Dealer acknowledged the issue with trans the first 2 times. I called Chrysler several times and they finally opened a star case and I went to a different dealer. Chrysler contacted dealer before I got there. Dealer would not let me ride along with tech. Surprise surprise.. Dealer and Chrysler came back and said the truck performs as designed. What a coincidence!!! I even showed them video of the issues. Test drive other Rams of the same year and model. There were nine of these issues as it was when I first bought mine.I guess Chrysler should advertise our vehicles perform horribly after 1000 miles by design. Lemon law process started. My boyfriend bought a 2011 Dodge Ram 2500. It was 69000 paid off same day. Well after a couple months of driving it, the steering was messing up. Then we received a letter saying there was a recall on left tie rod. Well we ended up taking it in to get fixed and have had them pretty much refuse us saying we need to take it to where we got it from, but I thought any Dodge dealership could help us. And before we found out about the recall we had spent 9 thousand to get it fixed and I dont think they did anything to fix it. We also spent 6 thousand on a service contract that doesnt really help us get anything fixes with truck. I just am so frustrated that we have a nice messed up truck and its just been sitting in our front yard for the last two years. Does anyone know what we should do since I have no idea? Im young and learning and really could use some direction in this problem. Thanks everyone. Have a nice day!!

1997 Dodge truck paint peeling off in mass - Lousy Dodge/Chrysler paint. Beware spending big bucks on a Dodge Ram or Chrysler product. The paint has peeled off the hood, top of the cab and almost every horizontal surface. It is also creeping down the sides. It is like a time bomb. It started about 4 years ago, like a timer went off. My last Dodge truck for sure. $2,500.00 to repaint. They have to strip it. I have friends with other brands of trucks with more miles and as old. They still have their paint.

Purchased a 2011 dodge 1500 4x4 Laramie 5.7 Hemi new in April 2011. Get in truck just seven months later and it will not drive. No gear action. Had it towed to the dealership and day one, the tech says he doesnt know the problem. Day two, doesnt know; day three, ask me why the transmission fluid looks new. Heck, I dont know, you tell me. Day four, informs me that its the transmission pump. Its shot. In seven months? Ive been seeing a lot of transmission complaints about dodges. Makes one wonder.

I have a 14 Ram 3500 driving out of town. My water pump came apart and put the fan into the radiator. Ok no big worries stuff happens. Called roadside assistance, they were very helpful. The problem was when I actually got to the dealership. Service advisor told me that they couldnt even look at it for three days. I asked about a rental, and they told me that I would have to pay out of pocket until they could look at it to determine if it was covered under warranty. I explained my situation on how I was stranded three hours from home. The service advisor was incredibly rude didnt even want to let someone spend 10 min to authorize a rental. So now I am out a hotel room and fuel for my wife to make a 440 round trip to come pick me up and another 440 miles to go get it whenever they get around to it. I understand they have their scheduled vehicles but I think a little consideration should be given for situations like mine when people are stranded away from home.

I bought a 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 in 2010 basically because it looked decent enough and price was less than a Ford or even Chevy. I did this even though many people told me not to due to their experience with problems with owning the truck. Also was told the MPG was far lower than other similar trucks in same weight class. Needless to say I ignored this advice and went ahead and bought it. Now 40,000 miles later and 4 1/2 years I am regretting my purchase. Keep in mind too I am not even pulling a trailer and using it for around town driving. First year I noticed I was getting overall 9 MPG overall which in this day and age is a disgrace. Also the sheet metal is very thin on truck bed. They I guess saved a lot of money here but you will get dent if you lean into in with your clothes. Again no other truck that I have owned does this. Fast forward now to 2014 and the real horror of the lack of quality comes out. In the last two months my window switches and door lock controls on drivers door broke, the gauge that measures outdoor temperature stopped working and the Cup holder broke internally somehow (no outside damage whatsoever just a poorly made device). Well I brought it to Dodge and they see you coming and are trained to hit you hard when you come in the door. Those three little things cost well over 1000 to fix!! Dodge makes parts cheaply and then profits when you come in to fix them. These parts should never break and its criminal IMO when they do break that Dodge hits you so hard to fix them. Also a wire became broken or loose somehow around my license plate and the light wont work. Service tech gleefully calls and says it wont pass inspection without light and says it cost 300 to fix this since access is so hard. I complain. He listens surly just thinking about nothing but his commission or his pay. I took up snow plowing this year in 2015. I have plowed for 15 years with Ford trucks never a problem. That of course all changed here with two hrs into snow plowing with this truck. It became stuck in 4 low and never came out of it till endless attempts. Also I backed into a snowbank muffler clamps and all bent and broke. Again 15 years backing into snowbanks with Ford trucks this never happened. They are reinforced, placed correctly and strong. Not the case with my Dodge - cost I think 500 to fix. This Dodge 2500 is the worst truck have ever owned, its built like a car and they put their heavy duty badge on it for a reason - I have no idea. I will never buy a Dodge truck again nor will anyone in my family or more. I almost did forget when I went to shop for all this serviceman of course tells my transmission fluid and power steering fluid dirty and need to be changed all for another approx 700!! All marked up through the roof, high commissions for service manager? What do you think? I inform him that manual says change transmission fluid at 60k and only if pulling trailer. I am at 42k and no trailer lol. I pass on fluids and get rimmed pretty hard for all else.Really shifty this hole Dodge company.... Oh the line when I pulled up for service was twenty deep.. All SUV, Trucks and cars waiting to be fixed and all looked relatively new too. Big moneymaker for Dodge and Jeep, they build inferior cars and trucks of low quality and profit as us dumb folks parade in to get them fixed. Never again for me!!

I am the original owner of a 2008 Ram 2500 w/ Cummins 6.7L engine. The truck has been serviced religiously. I purchased the vehicle because Cummins has a stellar reputation. Or so I thought. As soon as the warranty expired, the engine computer motherboard failed. The cost was $3,000.00 and it took three trips to the dealer to completely install the motherboard correctly. Hey, things happen, correct? Recently, I have had a consistent engine light on. At 70,000 miles, I took the vehicle in for service. After a diagnosis, the code of P2262 was the most prevalent code and it signifies a turbo failure. Replacement cost is $4,901.00. I called Dodge to express my concern and they refused to stand behind their product. While I have researched blogs and forums for a reasonable solution, at the end of the day, I have a Cummins diesel engine, with two major failures, before the vehicle turns 70,250 miles. This is an inferior product with an inferior organization (Chrysler-Dodge) standing behind it. Run, dont walk, away from FCA (Fiat Chrysler).

My wife and I own two Dodge Rams. A 2003/4.7 and a 2005/5.7. Recently, the 03 lost oil pressure so I had a friend that is a mechanic trained by a Chevrolet dealer assist me in repairing my truck. We pulled the engine and took it apart to find that the oil pan was painted on the inside from the factory and the paint began to peel away plugging up the oil pickup causing the loss in oil pressure.I have built many older cars and have never had a oil pan that was painted on the inside. I am worried now that our 05 ram will have the same issue. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why anyone would paint or use some type of coating on the inside of a oil pan. We have gone to great lengths to take very good care of our trucks and this truck has just under 90,000 miles on it.The good thing out of all of this is that I use Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil along with Z-MAX and after inspection of the engine, it seems that the engine is fine. I personally took a wire wheel and got all of the paint out of the oil pan along with a new oil pump and pickup other new parts and am putting the engine back in soon.I dont know how one might get compensated for this but it would be nice! The big question is how many people have had this issue and took there truck to be repaired just to be told that it was something else and paid a lot of money. Is their any way to find out about this issue and what if any that Dodge might do to fix this? How many other makes have coated oil pans?

Purchased my first Ram April 2013 because of the gas mileage. I own a business and opted for cars in the past because I drive about 45,000 miles a year. I now have 83,000 trouble free miles on it. The gas mileage is as advertised and the 3.6 six is powerful enough since I do not tow. My dealership is exceptional, Reagle Dodge in Banger. The fit and finish is excellent and up to import standards. I never had to return to the dealer for driving issues. Only problem I had was with the connect that was replaced. The new 12 Inch Electronic/Radio Display System doesnt work. Unable to make hands free phone calls, or access their Uconnect on vehicle support service because there is high levels of static and very low volume. This $70,000 truck has been back to the dealer twice, within the first month of ownership. Both times, the dealer was unable to repair the problem. They claim they have been in touch with the RAM Techline, who instructed them to run an updated software download. They did it, but it did not repair the problem. I have now been told I have to wait, Possible as long as December for the next new software download. Why they think that software update will work, given they said the first software update they completed was supposed to fix the problem and it didnt. In addition to the technology problems Ive experienced, the optional hard bed cover leaks!!DONT make the same mistake I did. I owned Chevy trucks for 15 years, but decided to try a Dodge. DONT make the same mistake I did and buy this truck. Unfortunately Im one of those people RAM refers to in the advertising campaign by saying: More People Are Switching To RAM. Purchased brand new 2017 Dodge Rebel on January 1, 2018. So far Ive only put 600 miles on it. Noticed above drivers door a hump under the painted plastic trim which covers the roof seam/joint. Notified local Dodge service department. They took pictures to send to the Dodge engineering department. The local Dodge body shop also inspected it. It appears at the factory when it was built, some metal debris was left under the sheet metal when it was crimped and spot welded. This caused metal to protrude at the joint. Also, there is a visible hump in the sheet metal. To top that, at the factory, they simply threw the plastic trim over it and painted it! There is a HIGHLY VISIBLE 1/3 rise in the trim. I noticed a leak on my drivers floormat. The body shop said it was from the roof seam issue. How in the hell did this get through even the weakest of quality control both at the factory and at the dealership? The dealership has now had my truck for a week. The headliner has been removed for inspection. Called dealership Friday and they said the Dodge engineers are looking at the problem. How can this end well for me? Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Bought a 2014 2500 Mega Cab Laramie Longhorn for $67,000 dollars. At 3000 miles the steering tie rod locking nuts and main nut backed off and caused the steering wheel to turn 180 degrees and almost came off which would have resulted in no steering. Took to the dealer there were no parts. They were backordered, dealer offered to retighten the existing nuts. I told them I wanted both tie rods and all the nuts replaced because they had pulled threads. I crawled under the truck and marked all the parts with a magic marker. After three weeks part of the parts came in. They replaced them but did not replace the ones I marked. They told me it was ready. I showed them the magic marks on the parts they did not replace and I told them to reorder all the parts again because they screwed the new nuts on the pulled threads. Two more weeks and got all the parts put on. They realigned the wheels. At 4000 miles it happened again. We went through the whole process again. Another two weeks. Knock on wood they got it right this time. Now I have 49000 miles and did not buy the extended warranty ($3800). I was pulling my RV trailer down a long hill and started hearing a whine pulled over and determined it must be the fan blade. Drove it whining to a RV park and dropped my trailer. The whining would increase when the engine was revved. I sounded like the power steering whine. It was full of power steering fluid and no leaks. The next morning I started the vehicle and was warming it up. After ten minutes I went outside and the vehicle was smoking and had dumped all the power steering fluid on the pavement. The pump pressured up and blown the hoses in three pieces.I called the mechanic at the place I work, who has a fleet of 200 dodge rams. He told me this was a known issue with Dodge. The hoses have a plastic liner in the ends that rupture and ball up in the hoses and restrict the flow of fluid causing the whining sound. When you shut off the engine overnight the plastic cools and hardens plugging of the hose. When you restart the plastic stops the flow of fluid and the pump pressures up and blows the hoses in two. I you were driving and this happens you lose power steering and power brakes creating a potential hazardous situation. It is extremely difficult to steer and practically no brakes. If you hear this whining sound shut it down immediately and dont drive.I had my truck towed to a dealership about 10 miles under the 100,000 mile Chrysler warranty but would have had to pay the difference of anything over 10 miles (read the fine print). Ordered the parts. They were on backorder. I was told it would be approx. 3 days getting the parts. The dealership does not have loaner vehicles or rental cars. My RV was racking up $42.00 a day waiting on parts. I rented a car for $23.00 a day. Nearly $75.00 a day waiting on parts. The dealership would tell me every two days the parts would be there anytime. After 11 days I took my family home in the rental car and release it. I got a fellow RVer to tow my trailer to storage. I was given the price of parts and labor to fix the truck was $339.00.I called Chrysler Customer Care and talked to a agent named Patrick. He called the dealership and verified my information and said Chrysler would definitely take care of the cost of fixing the truck even though it was out of warranty. He said for me to pay the bill and gave me a link to upload the receipt and they would reimburse me. He also said when I finished with the rental car they would send me another upload link and they would review whether they would reimburse or not. (All sounds great huh? NOT.) I finished with the rental car and uploaded the receipts to Chrysler. The link could be used only one time.I called to get another link so I could upload the receipt for the repairs. I got an agent named Debbie. She said Chrysler would not take care of any of it and told me Patrick had misinformed me and wanted to know if I wanted to buy a service contract. She was a lawyer wannabe and would not move. Chrysler Customer Care needs to change their name to Chrysler WE dont CARE about our Customers Just give us more MONEY. As of this writing it has been 17 days with no parts in sight. Looks like I may have to go get my truck and tow it home and put third party parts to get it running again. If you are considering buying a Ram Truck read every one of the reviews above and prepare yourself to deal with all or most of the issues described. Remember!!! Chrysler doesnt care about its customers. Only getting your money!

I purchased my 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 truck in 2013 and initially didnt have any issues. The first issue happened in June of this year. After having towed nothing the first 2 years, I purchased a 44 RV. After the second tow, a trip to Louisiana, the engine began to bog down on me and lose power. I took it in to the dealer to get it checked out and they hit me with a $2,000 estimate for repairs. Said the EGR valve was bad ($799 for part) and needed to be replaced. They also said a front ABS wheel sensor was bad and needed to be replaced as well. Guess what, my warranty didnt cover one cent of the repairs. They said this wasnt covered in the warranty. Go Figure! Well now I have a bad taste in my mouth for having to dish out so much money. Ive always wanted to own a dually and found that the Dodge was more affordable to me. Anyway, I chalked it up as a loss and moved on. That is, until now that I have gotten a Perform Service Soon light on my dash. After consulting my owners manual, it says I need to take it in to get emissions maintenance performed. Emissions/EGR Valve....Do you see where Im going with this? So I call the dealer and ask for cost. For starters, it will cost me $110/hr. to just check out the problem. Ive owned several Nissan vehicles and let me tell you, it never costs me a cent for them to troubleshoot any problems that I have. Also, I have never paid over $200 for any issue with them. They cover almost everything and better yet their vehicles rarely break down. At least the ones I have owned havent, thanks to God! Anyway, I think I am about to trade my Dodge in for a Chevy or Ford. I wont be able to afford paying Dodge for all the high repair costs and maintain payments at the same time. I really wish Nissan would come out with a ton pick up!!

The timing chain broke on my 2007 Ram 1500 4x4 5.7L hemi engine with 53,000 miles. After an internal inspection, it appeared as if the timing chain tensioner was to blame. It is a stamped metal piece with plastic runner clipped onto it to keep the timing chain tight. Well, it look as if these plastic pieces failed causing the timing chain to grab the metal on the tensioner and rip it apart snapping the chain and locking up the engine. My vehicle is no longer under factory warranty. But I still contacted Dodge and they say that there is no warranty and that I must take it to the dealer for them to look at it and that any repair would be a Goodwill Repair. I explained to them that I do not have the monetary means to have the vehicle towed to Dodge inspected and then towed home again when they tell me there is no warranty. I still owe more than $21,000.00 on the truck and can’t drive it. What am I to do?

My complaint is regarding my 2012 Ram 1500 Laramie 4X4 Crew Cab. I specially ordered my truck and waited a little over a month for delivery. On the day of delivery, I did a general inspection to make sure the truck had 4 tires and that the gauge display had worked. I followed my wife back home and then parked the truck in my driveway by itself. We went in for a few hours came back out as I helped her into the passenger side of the truck. I noticed that on the b-pillar next to the door latch the truck had a dime size paint chip missing down to the bare metal. I phoned the dealer and was told theyll take care of it. I had my wife take it in. My wife noticed that at the same time the plates were wrong, commercial instead of passenger. So they said they would fix that. The dealer tried to pass off touch up paint, a big glob in fact as a quality fix on a 2012 Brand new truck! I was obviously annoyed with this. I complained, they said theyll send it out to the body shop. This got me concerned to look over the whole vehicle in depth. I checked everywhere. I found multiple scratches in the door jams both on pillars and on the doors themselves all were down to the bare metal! I also found a dent on the driver’s side door that had to come from the factory, seeing how it was at a 45 degree angle an inch behind the handle and had no scratch to it or no paint from another vehicle. The dealership made excuses, but their service guy even stated, hey it was definitely a factory caused blemish. I was told they would take care of it all. I questioned a loner car for the time it was being fixed. I had taken the time to mark with frog tape all the issues and write out a list explaining them and how I didnt want any bond/body filler used and no touch up paint on the vehicle. When my wife went to drop the truck off and hand the service guy the paper I printed up for them, he tells my wife, Oh, this list gets longer and longer. They gave my wife 2000 Dodge Neon that stunk like b.o. and ran with no child seat restraint hooks in the rear. I have a newborn that had to be placed in there. Needless to say, I was perturbed. I called Chrysler and made an official complaint. They had my truck for almost a full week and they didnt bother to give as much as an update call. I had to call both Chrysler and the dealership to find out what was going on. I felt skeptical about my trucks repairs and asked to know what body shop they had it sent to. I was told and attempted to get the technical info on how it was fixed directly from the body shop. They gave me the run around and told me speak to the people at riverhead dodge. I thought it strange like a cover up since its my truck and the people who worked on it had brushed me off to speak to the dealership. I inform Chrysler and they tell me theyll be contacting Riverhead Dodge and get back to me with exactly how my truck was repaired. I said okay. I had to call Chrysler back to get the info from them. I was told some spots were touched up. I was not happy. I then got a call from Riverhead Dodge service dept. stating my truck was all ready for pick up. Due to my work hours and service dept hour’s confliction, I had to go over my truck with a salesman who could care less and was insisting I be happy with what was done. I was not, they had used touch up paint on one of the spots, didnt bother to finish wet sanding another and left a paint run on one. I was furious! I left the truck with a brief note to the service manager explaining why I felt it was not done. I called Chrysler, asked for a manager even though I was told that a manager was to be contacting me in regards to my case. I again had to contact them. I was told and I quote! Since the dealership is satisfied with the repairs made to the vehicle, we here at Chrysler are satisfied with the repairs made to the vehicle. Wow! Some customer service, huh. I thought it was the customer whom they had to satisfy. Guess not. That’s where my complaints have been since. I then during the very next week after, noticed when cleaning my trucks interior that the plastic on the center console passenger side kick panel that it was the bark brown in one spot and all the rest was the tan. I phoned another dealership, made an appointment with their service dept. They made note ordered the right color piece and replaced it without issue. So my main complaint is with Riverhead Dodge and Chrysler itself. If they end up with requiring another bail out, the government had best not assist them again and let them go under. I think a lesson in humility is exactly what they need so that whoever buys the company next can make some changes, both in the quality of the product and the quality of the customer service.

I just wanted to say I am disappointed with the rear coil spring suspension on my 2012 Dodge 1500. I have an enclosed trailer that weighs 2,800lbs and may have around 1,000lbs in it. The rear of the truck drops down drastically. I know the coil spring suspension gives it a better ride, but it ruined the carrying capacity. The fuel mileage has gone from 17.5 to 15.5 in the past week and I have not pulled anything or changed where I purchased the fuel or the grade of fuel. Maybe that will improve over time. Now I just have a truck that I really cannot use to its full potential.

I bought new a 2008 2500 Dodge Ram work truck with the 6.7L Cummins engine. I pamper this truck. it is almost shameful how lightly I use this machine, but sometimes I need to tow small work trailers while the truck is loaded over short distances. It is a manual shift 6 speed. I now have 45,000 easy miles on it. I am now 1,000 miles into the second clutch on the truck, and (thanks to Crown Dodge in Ventura Ca. and some worn-out ball joints) I am $6,400 poorer! I was told then that 35,000 is all you can expect out of a Dodge clutch. The truck also only gets 12.3 MPG empty on the freeway! Why has this expensive work truck worn out so quickly after so light a work load and low miles? Why do my friends with similar trucks get 20 MPG? I guess I need to try and trade in this truck and buy something that will hold up. I dont think it will be a Ram. Perhaps, the unions could fix my problems!? This is shameful.

Ram Country Dodge in Del Rio, TX, I had an appointment for the recall on the 2011 Dodge 3500. I was told it would take 2 hours. I left it at noon, went to pick it up at 6 pm because after several calls, it still wasnt finished mainly because they havent even started on it. Finally, after speaking to the owner, I was told they would have it done in 30 minutes.Several weeks later, the truck died while I was driving it. It was towed to Crenwelge Motors in Fredricksburg, TX where we were told after 5 days of being there, that the recall had never been done and that the fuel pump in the tank was not working. The day the truck was picked up and driven about 45 miles back to Mason, TX, it was still having some sort of problem. So on the 7th of August, it was taken to All American Chrysler in San Angelo, TX. It is still there and we were told that there are 7 errors coming up on the computer. We are not happy at all with the fact that we have a brand new truck and the problems and the runaround we have gotten. Our daughter drives that truck and is in college and needs it. I would like someone to get in touch with me immediately.

We have taken our 2015 Ram 3500 Tradesman diesel numerous times to three different dealers to try and find the source of diesel exhaust coming into the cab through the air ducts especially when the heater is on because the air does not recycle. It makes our entire family sick. We are being poisoned by diesel exhaust. Ram claims that no one else has this problem which is obviously a lie. It sounds like Thaddeus of S. Atoms River, NJ has the same problem. We also drove the identical vehicle on the lot and it had the same smell. This is a serious health issue and Ram needs to address it immediately before someone who doesnt have the same sensitivity to smells dies of diesel exhaust poisoning. Look it up on the internet. It is serious. It can cause chest pains up to two days later. Immediate issues include headache, nausea, throat and eye irritation. Please call Dodge Ram and complain if you have a similar problem. Dont let your dealer blow you off. This is serious.

I have a 2015 Ram 2500 Longhorn addition with the 6.7 Cummins diesel. My issue is with the 5 mph max de-rate feature. It has happened twice now. The first time it went off, it took the dealer 4 days to get a new injector for the def system. Now for the second time, my truck is 53 miles from a 5 mph limp mode and it is holiday weekend. I am stuck not able to use my $60000.00 truck because of this EPA GOVT BS! There needs to be another way. My truck runs fine, but I am forced to see my dealer for DEF service. WTF? There needs to be a fix. I will delete this DEF SYSTEM altogether or sell the truck. Love the truck and engine but not a fan of being told to report to dealer or drive 5 mph. That is socialism!

Dodge Ram 1500 2014 6cyl 4x4 purchased new. I had two problems with this truck. 1. Cruse control didnt work all the time. 2. Driver side electric window and door lock controller had to be replaced. These were the only problems I had. The transmission started acting up. Not shifting smoothly and lagging. This started after 80,000 accumulated miles. On the positive side this truck was a joy to drive. Easy to handle. Tracked straight and true in all weather conditions. Comfortable cabin that was quiet with an excellent stock stereo sound system. The electronics were easy to use, especially the blue tooth phone system. I drove this truck for a total of 5 years.

I bought my Ram 1500 new in 2015 with every tow option available. During the summer months (May-Mid September) I tow a 3,500lb boat about every other weekend... this was the sole purpose for buying this truck. This August while towing the boat the transmission failed to downshift (with a loud BANG) twice, then we got a check engine light, and the transmission reached 280* before being able to get off the highway. The truck was towed to the nearest dealer. The dealership told me there was no overtemp history in the computer and replaced just the valve body and filter. Ever since the repair the transmission regularly runs hot (up to 237* while not towing, usually in the 220s) and does a sporadic slip-bang shift.I opened a case with Ram Cares and got it into another dealership, they couldnt reproduce the problem. The mechanic told me that Chrysler only allows them to replace the valve body or the entire transmission under warranty (if the fluid is burnt), but he felt there was a problem with the heat exchanger for the transmission. When I picked up the truck the service advisor told me (after seeing my many pictures of the trans temp gauge reading 220s and 230s) that even though he cant do anything under warranty right now he thought the transmission would most likely fail before the powertrain warranty expires. This is a problem as Ive already been stranded once while towing my boat. The Ram Cares rep said Chrysler stands by the dealership and my request for further diagnoses OR a warranty extension on the transmission has been denied... this to me means that Chrysler doesnt have confidence in the transmission... a warranty extension would only cost Chrysler money IF the transmission fails again.

Bought a Ram 1500 big horn with HEMI in December 15. Around July, the tailgate had started to fall open on its own. This had continually become worse, even happening a couple times when truck is sitting still. Called dealer and explained, told me there are no recalls for this. Has anyone also had this issue or know of a recall for this?

On March 22, 2015 I did my paperwork to lease a Ram 1500. I had been driving it for the last week and ended up driving about 300 miles. I have had some issues with the truck from the radio, to the wheel sensors, to hub bearings, to paint work. I dealt with it for almost a year, and saw it was truck month again. I decided to go in and trade my vehicle and see what If I could get something different. The dealer asked me when I wrecked my truck. Told them I never wrecked my truck. CarFax is showing that on 2/3/14 the vehicle was involved in a front and rear impact accident. Very minor damages reported. So then my investigating skills got the best of me. With the dealers help, I have received the invoice, build date, transportation drop off date, PDI report etc. I found all this stuff about my truck at the beginning of March of 2015. Contacted CarFax and they confirmed that the vehicle was in an accident in Michigan on 2/3/14. So looking at the dealer invoice, it was invoiced on 2/10/14. Accident occurred before the dealer invoice. No dealer trade was involved. Shipped directly to the dealer. The transportation company dropped off the truck on 3/10/14. Exactly one month after the dealer invoice, and there were NO damages to the truck. I have the transportation copy of drop off and signatures on the sheet. The dealership was also able to provide me with the build sheet and it to was in a KZOB status. This was interesting because it has limited definitions on the sheet, but one stuck out was damage. The truck then was Pdid at the dealership on 3/12/14 with 12 miles on it. Then I started looking at the truck and drove it for a week and leased it on 3/22/14. Chrysler customer service told me it was just a scratch on the truck and that is why there is a CarFax incident. I said that there is a scratch on the truck and now its reported to CarFax? What? If it was a scratch wouldnt it have been fixed and sent out? Why would they report it to CarFax? Who is covering what up? Today on 5/11/15, I am getting nowhere with Chrysler/Ram/Fiat. Everyone wants to pass the buck and point fingers to the dealership. Now I am waiting to see if the district manager for Chrysler Great Lakes region can do something. I have had a discussion with him, after learning about the CarFax report, and he said.... it happens with transportation damage. I can understand transportation damage occurring, but you would never think that when buying/leasing a brand new vehicle that it would have already been wrecked. The value of my truck isnt as much as one with a one owner, good serviced, good CarFax vehicle. But it is ok to deceive the dealer and the public/buyer.

My 2019 Ram driving freeway at 70MPH suddenly went from 70 to idle. Towed to dealer. Said nothing wrong. Then did it again. Called Chrysler. Nothing. These trucks should be off the road. Lucky to not have been killed. Talked to others going back to 2015 had the same problem. Still no help for them either. Any ideas?

2016 Ram 1500 Hemi. Stopped running Saturday. As of Wed no significant contact from Ram and virtually no contact from Ed Voyles dealership. Id say they dont know whats wrong except I cant get anyone on the phone. Ram seems to be avoiding me so they dont have to give me a loaner and the Ed Voyles rep must be sitting on the toilet all day because he cant seem to pick up the phone. Thank goodness Georgia has strong lemon law, counting up to 30 then they have to buy it back.

My husband and I purchased our 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 on August 8th of last year. Our first issue was the a/c took it to the dealership. They did the dye test and said everything was fine that it was just over charged within 2 weeks. I was calling them again because it was not fixed. They tell me to bring it back, they did the dye test again and found a bad gasket, problem fixed!! Now our second issue is well we dont know. The dealership dont know either. The traction stability light was coming on and staying on while at the same time the tire pressure sensor is beeping and flashing in the dash. I called the dealership starting on the first of September and I called them everyday. I was told by one of the service associates that unless it doesnt start or leaves me stranded, then it should be fine just keep driving it. 4 associates, 2 managers and over a week later, they call me to bring it in that was on 9/10/14. They still have our truck and still dont know whats wrong with it. Im so frustrated and dont know what to do!!

I owned a 98 Dodge Ram right off the showroom floor and before I gave it to my son, it only had two major issues. One was a recall for towing package, they had to weld an extra piece of metal to the trailer hitch. The other issue was, I am assuming the same as most other people that owned that year with the Dashboards that fell apart.I currently own a 2011 Cummins Turbo Diesel, that had the left tie rod recall, took the truck into my local dealership, oh and I bought from a privately owned dealership about 200 miles from where I live. The dealership I took it to for the recall didnt ask any questions or anything about doing the work. I bought this truck in July of this year and have already put over 5K miles on it and shes running like a dream. In my opinion, if you bought your truck for something other than work, then you bought the wrong thing. These are work trucks, built to be USED!!!! If you bought it for the NAV or the Phone or fancy Radio, then maybe you should have looked into buying something else for that price, like a Benz, BMW, Audi or Volvo. Just my opinion. Oh the 98, when I gave it to my son 9 months ago, had over 120K miles on it. The Cummins I traded my Challenger for and only paid 23K for it. Just because these vehicles have all that fancy stuff on them doesnt make them not be a Truck!

Where do I start? My truck is a 2016 RAM 2500 6.7 Diesel. 4k miles on it. Ive only had it 3 months and been to dealer twice each month since bought it. Windows had bubbles in them. Alignment issues - pulls to the right. Service manager said this is very common meant while my front tires are wearing out badly. Shimmy at steering wheel at hwy speeds. Service ABS system displays at every start. Told be service rep, basically not to expect much since most of these trucks i.e 2500 are all doing it that it will continue to have a pull on the alignment. Going in to dealer again tomorrow second time in one month for same issue on alignment.

We purchased a new Dodge Ram 1500, Big Horn Edition, complete towing package/navigation. It has been in the dealer shop, quite a few times, more than any vehicle I have ever owned, navigation issues, tires worn out in 15,000 miles, can’t even roll down our back passenger windows without having your eardrums broken, the noise is horrendous, they say it fine, don’t roll down window. First time we opened rear window on cab, wouldn’t close, got everything in cab wet, they finally replaced cable after the third time at dealer, and I let “Everyone” in the dealership know of my disdain for my new truck. I have ticking issues now in my engine, they say its fine, its not!!! Then they checked my in cab filter during oil change, and they broke my filter box, I found pieces on floor after the oil change, they didn’t tell me, I went right back in with pieces in my hand, and they said, We will have to pull the whole dash out to fix/ replace it! I still am furious about this, I duct taped it all. Paint is so thin, I have chips in paint all over front, and sides!!! I had a 2009 Dodge Ram, with the 360 cu in in it, had 320,000 miles on it, only repair was a intake gasket and transmission valve replaced... NEW Is Not Better... Paid over $55,000 for a piece of junk, will never own another Dodge Ram again, I am done with bad trucks, bad service... Very frustrated.

The track bar broke on my truck and I had lost steering. I managed to cross over two lanes of traffic to the emergency lane and crawl home at 25 miles per hour. When I called Dodge, the woman at the recall center said that they went by VIN numbers only and that my VIN number was not on the recall list. Therefore it could not have been the track bar that failed. As she continued, she said that they knew only 1500 trucks had the wrong smaller truck part and because my VIN was not on the list. It could not have been the track bar. I asked where do I go to get it fixed and submit proof of the track bar being the wrong size and she said its up to me to get it fixed and its not Dodges fault if the wrong size was installed. But they would appreciate me being a Dodge customer. I HATE DODGE! Every Dodge we ever had, the drivers door come off the hinges or they break leaving us to weld the door shut, suspensions go, engines go. Grrrrr, frustrating.
