Ram Automobile Model 2025 Ram ProMaster EV

2025 Ram ProMaster EV

The 2025 Ram ProMaster EV is Ram’s fully electric, commercial-focused cargo van built to deliver zero-emissions capability for businesses and fleets. It retains the versatile body styles of the standard ProMaster but replaces the gasoline-engine drivetrain with an all-electric setup, making it well suited for urban deliveries, service fleets and other use cases with moderate daily mileage and charging access.

Powertrain & Performance

Features a front-wheel‐drive electric motor producing about 268 horsepower and 302 lb-ft of torque.

Equipped with a large battery pack (about 110 kWh usable capacity) built into the floor, retaining the flat cargo-floor layout of the standard ProMaster.

Target range is approximately 162 miles (≈260 km) in city-driving conditions, depending on configuration and load.

DC fast-charging capability is included, allowing the battery to recharge from ~10 % to ~80 % in roughly 50–55 minutes (depending on charger power and conditions). Level 2 AC charging is also supported (up to ~11 kW onboard).

Payload capability in the cargo-van configuration is up to about 2,030 lb (≈ 920 kg); step-van/delivery body versions carry slightly less.

Towing is limited compared to traditional gasoline heavy-duty vans, making the ProMaster EV better suited for lighter cargo and urban/logistic operations rather than heavy trailers.

Body Styles & Practicality

The ProMaster EV is offered in multiple body lengths and roof heights: for example a 12-foot (≈ 3.66 m) cargo length or extended 13-foot (≈ 4 m) body, with high-roof and super-high-roof options.

Cargo volume tops out around 524 cubic feet (≈14.8 m³) in the largest van body-style configuration.

As with the conventional ProMaster the front-wheel‐drive layout gives a low floor height and large available interior volume for cargo, shelving or up-fit work.

The cabin features a large infotainment screen with smartphone integration (Apple CarPlay / Android Auto), fleet-oriented connectivity and commercial-use ergonomic touches (easy ingress/egress, wide sliding doors, etc.).

Safety/driver-assist features include a 360° camera system (depending on trim), forward-collision mitigation, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, and available adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go.

Strengths

A truly electric cargo van offering from a major U.S. brand, with recognizable van architecture and multiple body styles.

The battery built into the floor preserves much of the usable cargo space and floor height of the gasoline version – a key advantage for up-fits and commercial use.

Good power and torque for cargo-van tasks; instant EV torque helps with urban stop-and-go driving.

Lower running costs (no gasoline), fewer moving parts (electric drivetrain) compared to internal-combustion vans – potentially attractive for fleet operators with high usage.

Environmentally friendlier footprint (zero tailpipe emissions) which may help with regulatory compliance, urban access or brand image for businesses.

Considerations / Trade-Offs

The range (~160-170 miles) while adequate for many urban routes, is modest compared with some long-range EVs or for heavy usage patterns (full-day, mixed highway/city, large payloads). For heavy long-haul or remote operations, gasoline or diesel vans may still be preferable.

Payload and towing numbers are lower than the best-in-class conventional vans – if maximum cargo/haul is primary, this may be a limitation.

Charging infrastructure becomes critical: to fully benefit from the EV version you’ll need reliable access to Level 2 (overnight) and/or DC fast-charging in the field. Without this, operational flexibility may be impacted.

Upfront cost is higher than equivalent gasoline vans (even if operating costs may be lower over time). Fleet buyers need to assess total cost of ownership (TCO) including incentives, electricity costs, maintenance and residual value.

Commercial vehicles often have heavy duty and usage patterns – the EV version is newer in market, so long-term durability, service network and resale in commercial fleets will be unproven compared to established ICE versions.

Ideal Use Case / Buyer Profile

The 2025 ProMaster EV is a smart choice for businesses or organisations that:

Operate mostly within urban or suburban settings with predictable daily mileage (e.g., delivery fleets, service vans, last-mile logistics).

Have access to charging infrastructure (home depot charging, overnight charging, or accessible public DC fast-chargers) and can schedule charging around routes.

Value the zero-emissions profile (for regulatory reasons, brand image, access to low-emission zones).

Do not require extremely high towing or maximum payload—rather they prioritise usable cargo volume, utility and lower operating cost for medium-duty daily use.

Want the flexibility to up-fit shelving, racking, compartments without sacrificing the cargo-floor layout advantage (thanks to the battery under-floor design).

I have a 2013 Ram 2500 mega cab with a Cummins diesel. I bought my truck in January 2014 and have had nothing but problems with it. Its been to the dealership 4 times to have the pull corrected in the front end. Pulls to the right. Just recently had the uconnect display a message about service phone or something like that. Also just had my climate control stop working. Took it to the dealership and had them look at it. No codes came up. They said my aftermarket subwoofer would have to be removed to work on the climate control. Told them I wouldnt remove it because it has nothing to do with the climate control. The dealership then told me they would not work on my truck until everything aftermarket was removed at a cost of 500 dollars. I am friends with the owners of the local dealership and have set an appointment with them to address the issues Im having with my truck and their ** service department. Very unimpressed with the local service advisers and what they have done to fix my truck.

I purchased a 2017 Ram 3500 crew cab dually Laramie edition for my hauling business. Within the first week I was at the dealer with a complaint about wind noise coming through the back cab. They sent me to their glass department where I was told the back window wasn’t properly set from the factory. They said they have seen this before and the only way to fix it was they remove the back window and replace it. Being that the truck was only a week old I was extremely hesitant but agreed to the repair. Two weeks later I was back with the same problem and now when it rained water would come in and drop down the rear seat. I took it to another Ram dealer and this time was told after several test drives with their body technicians that the seams on the back of the cab were not formed together correctly and that’s where the wind noise was coming from not the rear window. Their solution for the repair was to remove the bed, fix the seams, repaint the back cab and then reinstall the bed. They would also take out the rear window once again and try and reseal it. I declined the repair and will be trading my brand new 68k truck in for a different brand. I have called Ram advanced support team and they have refused to take the truck back and give me another one. They said I must go through the repair process before they will discuss any further options.

I own 2 - 2015 Dodge Rams and 1 - 2016 Dodge Ram. 2 are 3500s. ALL 3 have premature front end tire wearing. Im talking less than 20k miles. On top of it all, the local dealership I purchased from said they dont know how to rotate the tires on the 3500s. Im at a loss that a service department can be so stupid!!! Plus, I get blue puffs out of exhaust with the 3500s when they start each morning. Also, the one 3500 has serious shifting issues. Trucks have been in 3 times each. Each time its been an absolute cluster and I have to physically remove my husband from the property or he was gonna lose it on these people. My father is the Fleet Manager at the dealership so I have to handle myself in a dignified manner but the dealership is blowing smoke up my skirt. I finally sent an email to corporate and NOW they sent a big wig down here and they are going to assess it. We all know how thats gonna turn out. Bottom line, no vehicle should have worn tires before 20k miles - ON ALL 3!!! Anyone else having this issue?

Paint flaking and rusting on pinch weld. Truck is 9 weeks old and 1780 miles. (hasnt even had its 1st oil change) When washing the truck I noticed paint flaking and rust appearing on lower body. I immediately took it to the dealership and they refuse to repair it until it becomes a HOLE?? I will never purchase a Chrysler product again. I will be looking at the 2015 F150 with the aluminum body. Very disappointed.

Hate this truck! This truck is an insult to real trucks. It cant tow anything with any weight. Every time you turn around something goes out on it. I recently saw a study that shows the front will completely crush if youre in a head-on crash. Thats not a surprise, but it is scary!

Bought a 2014 2500 Mega Cab Laramie Longhorn for $67,000 dollars. At 3000 miles the steering tie rod locking nuts and main nut backed off and caused the steering wheel to turn 180 degrees and almost came off which would have resulted in no steering. Took to the dealer there were no parts. They were backordered, dealer offered to retighten the existing nuts. I told them I wanted both tie rods and all the nuts replaced because they had pulled threads. I crawled under the truck and marked all the parts with a magic marker. After three weeks part of the parts came in. They replaced them but did not replace the ones I marked. They told me it was ready. I showed them the magic marks on the parts they did not replace and I told them to reorder all the parts again because they screwed the new nuts on the pulled threads. Two more weeks and got all the parts put on. They realigned the wheels. At 4000 miles it happened again. We went through the whole process again. Another two weeks. Knock on wood they got it right this time. Now I have 49000 miles and did not buy the extended warranty ($3800). I was pulling my RV trailer down a long hill and started hearing a whine pulled over and determined it must be the fan blade. Drove it whining to a RV park and dropped my trailer. The whining would increase when the engine was revved. I sounded like the power steering whine. It was full of power steering fluid and no leaks. The next morning I started the vehicle and was warming it up. After ten minutes I went outside and the vehicle was smoking and had dumped all the power steering fluid on the pavement. The pump pressured up and blown the hoses in three pieces.I called the mechanic at the place I work, who has a fleet of 200 dodge rams. He told me this was a known issue with Dodge. The hoses have a plastic liner in the ends that rupture and ball up in the hoses and restrict the flow of fluid causing the whining sound. When you shut off the engine overnight the plastic cools and hardens plugging of the hose. When you restart the plastic stops the flow of fluid and the pump pressures up and blows the hoses in two. I you were driving and this happens you lose power steering and power brakes creating a potential hazardous situation. It is extremely difficult to steer and practically no brakes. If you hear this whining sound shut it down immediately and dont drive.I had my truck towed to a dealership about 10 miles under the 100,000 mile Chrysler warranty but would have had to pay the difference of anything over 10 miles (read the fine print). Ordered the parts. They were on backorder. I was told it would be approx. 3 days getting the parts. The dealership does not have loaner vehicles or rental cars. My RV was racking up $42.00 a day waiting on parts. I rented a car for $23.00 a day. Nearly $75.00 a day waiting on parts. The dealership would tell me every two days the parts would be there anytime. After 11 days I took my family home in the rental car and release it. I got a fellow RVer to tow my trailer to storage. I was given the price of parts and labor to fix the truck was $339.00.I called Chrysler Customer Care and talked to a agent named Patrick. He called the dealership and verified my information and said Chrysler would definitely take care of the cost of fixing the truck even though it was out of warranty. He said for me to pay the bill and gave me a link to upload the receipt and they would reimburse me. He also said when I finished with the rental car they would send me another upload link and they would review whether they would reimburse or not. (All sounds great huh? NOT.) I finished with the rental car and uploaded the receipts to Chrysler. The link could be used only one time.I called to get another link so I could upload the receipt for the repairs. I got an agent named Debbie. She said Chrysler would not take care of any of it and told me Patrick had misinformed me and wanted to know if I wanted to buy a service contract. She was a lawyer wannabe and would not move. Chrysler Customer Care needs to change their name to Chrysler WE dont CARE about our Customers Just give us more MONEY. As of this writing it has been 17 days with no parts in sight. Looks like I may have to go get my truck and tow it home and put third party parts to get it running again. If you are considering buying a Ram Truck read every one of the reviews above and prepare yourself to deal with all or most of the issues described. Remember!!! Chrysler doesnt care about its customers. Only getting your money!

I had a check engine light come on on a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 with 17,000 actual miles. Took it to our dodge dealer (Christophers Dodge) and upon running the computer was told that there was probable a clogged exhaust line and/or valves not working. Upon taking the truck in a week later was informed by Christophers Dodge that we had a completely plugged EGR Cooler and it would cost around $3200.00 to fix. This has been a problematic part with Chrysler and if replaced during the 5 year 100,000 miles warranty it would be paid for. Well since our vehicle falls out of the 5 year warranty period they would only reduce the cost of the labor. Even though the vehicle only has 17,000 miles and looks like it came off the showroom. We were informed we were not loyal customers since we had not done our oil changes there. So we ended up paying 2600.00 for the repair and in my opinion will never purchase another Chrysler product since they do not back their vehicles.

I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 that I bought brand new. Since I have had the truck, several components have failed-- transmission wiring, emission control system, wheel bearings, tail light wiring, control module, powering steering pump, transfer case and now the ignition. This was my first brand new truck to own and it turns out to be a lemon that Dodge does not care about or will do anything about. I have talked to several individuals through Dodge and they all seem not to care. I also have talked to many other people who own Dodge trucks and they told me that they will never own another Dodge product. This company has a long road ahead of it if some kind of action is not taken. And youre welcome Dodge for the taxpayers bailing you out.

Called Chrysler about recall notice and was given a tarp-like cover for the front of my vehicle. Basically told there is no fix, it is a manufacturing defect and cannot be fixed. Put this tarp on your vehicle if the temp drops below -1C or 30 degrees F. Therefore, I paid for a $75,000.00 (tax included) that must have this cover on it in order to drive in cold weather. (I remember 40 yrs ago putting a piece of cardboard in front the radiator of my car to improve the heat, it is now 2015 and nothing seems to have changed.) Otherwise, a warning light comes on then the vehicle goes into limp mode (max speed 30 mph). If this happens I was told to find a warm garage and park the truck in it until it warms up. I can see this happening on a 400 series hwy at 1 am in the morning, and having a huge tracker-trailer drive into me from behind, as I am only limping along trying to find an exit and warm garage. Someone will die from this defect. It is totally unacceptable, incredibly dangerous, and completely irresponsible of Chrysler to hide this defect until you buy the vehicle, then say oh by the way you need this tarp to drive your $75,000.00 truck in the winter. Good luck!

I bought A Brand new 2012 Dodge 1500 Ram and had to take it back to the dealer to get a moisture problem fixed, drops of water dripping from the ceiling of the cab. Dealer saw the problem said they fixed it and if it comes back I would get a new truck. The problem was not fixed, there is excess moisture on the dash. Its covered in ice after parking it overnight in winter and they refuse to repair my defective truck or give me a new one. I purchased a brand new 2011 Ram 2500 and my serviceman at the dealership noticed severe rust spots while doing an oil change last May. I cannot believe a 5 yr old vehicle would have a problem like that. The dealership said it would cost $1,500.00 to replace because they have to lift the motor to change the pan. I wash my truck regularly. I contacted Ram customer care and they said it is out of warranty and it is because I live in the northeast. If Ram is going to design a vehicle where you have to lift the motor to change the pan, how about using a quality steel that will not rust out in 5 yrs.

I purchased a 2016 Ram 2500 6.7 diesel Crew Long Box 4x4 maybe 10 months ago. This week Monday morning I started my truck and check engine light came on so I stopped at my local dealer they plugged it in and couldnt read any codes. They informed me that the soonest they could look at the truck was 10 days away. I asked the service manager if the truck would go into limp mode. He informed me NO. I made an appointment 10 days out. Later that day I drove the truck an hour north and boom. What happens the DEF system starts a count down to 5 mph. So I drive into the nearest RAM dealership. They tell me We have no one that can look at the truck or plug it in. I ask the service writer what am I supposed to do brand new truck 16,000 miles on it less than a year old. I was told if you drive west about an hour you should hit another RAM dealership. They might have someone that can look at it, if not keep driving west and you will hit another dealership they might look at it!! I mean really thats what I was told. Now keep in mind you have a 150 mile range until the truck goes into limp mode and wont go over 5 mph. Its December in Wisconsin and its cold so instead of driving west I decided to head closer to home and I stopped at another RAM dealership and asked them to plug it in to see what was wrong with it. This is the 3rd Dealership I stopped at that day. They also informed me that they didnt have anyone to look at the truck and I would need to warm the truck up and try clearing the code out of it which could buy me a few days. I paid $60,000 for this truck and this is what 3 different dealers tell. Well my truck is at a service shop now not a RAM dealer because this private shop is moving heaven and earth to get it back on the road since no dealership would do anything. The kicker is all over this is under warranty but Im paying out of my pocket because I dont have any other way of getting around without my truck. Ive called Customer Service with RAM 3 times and I keep getting the runaround with no HELP. If people like me stopped buying RAM Trucks dealerships wouldnt be in business. I guess spending $60,0000 few months ago doesnt classify me as a good customer..... Sad part is a traded my Chevy Duramax in on a new Cummins. I guess Im the one that made the mistake. I wonder if GMC customer service would be better after spending $60,000. I keep getting told someone would call me in 24 hours still waiting. Im glad that a 3rd party service center is helping me because if they wouldnt be right now I can tell you some Chevy or GMC dealership would be getting a RAM as a trade in. My faith in RAM is gone and Im out thousands of dollars for parts and missing appointments because my new truck is broke down. Thanks but no thanks.

At the point of sale no copies of bill of sale or installment loan contract was given to me the buyer. Then when I tried to cancel after 3 days of no receipts they made out and deposited my 3 checks for the down payment. I DID not get any paperwork till June and had to call police to get it. Then they would not give my trade back and cancel deal. Then when I got the paperwork it was shrunk photocopies, not the hard copies I signed in. This is a 10-25k fine. So the loan was 30074.00 after paying in 17000 in cash for 4 years I still owe 29500.00. And the truck is worth 12000. This crime was committed on 4/09/13. And no one has ever helped me in this fraud and check writing fraud. So far they ducked every bullet. Im 71 and the payment is 657 monthly on a 15.8 loan. Where do I find relief. On 2/22/12, I took my 06 Dodge Ram 1500 to the Jeff Wyler Chrysler/Jeep Dealership at 100 Alexandria Pike, in Ft. Thomas, KY in response to not one but two recall announcements. After the dealership repaired the turn signal malfunction, I received a call telling me the lug nuts bloated and not easily coming off. I was then informed it would cost me $159.60 for new lug nuts and replacing. In view of the fact, I was there in response to a Chrysler recall to replace a hub bearing which required removing the wheels. It amazes me the dealer doesnt have a lug wrench to remove the original lug nuts. I discussed this with the service manager to see if this was an unusual occasion. The response was a yes. At that point, I began to suspect this is one of those dealer scam occurrences. I called the Chrysler Dodge Ram Case Management Group in Detroit. After playing telephone tag with a Leslee for week to finally get her to understand which Jeff Wyler dealership in KY and OH I had dealt with, she was very unsure of the next steps. I asked to speak to a manager. I talked to a man who was totally unfamiliar with the case and immediately took the corporate position that the lug nuts are out of warranty. I found that apprehensible. If Chrysler cant make a lug nut that lasts longer than one year, Im not surprised the American auto industry is in big trouble. A very discourteous woman got on the line and echoed the same thing. Just so you know, I currently own two Chrysler products. I also leased a Chrysler 300C about 4 years ago. In net, I have owned three Chrysler products in the past 4 years and was in fact looking at Jeep SUVs at that dealer for my wife. In conclusion, I am very angry about being ripped off by a dealer who doesnt own a usable lug wrench. Even more so, Im angry at a company like Chrysler that is so shortsighted you are willing to lose significant future business rather than correct what I believe is a very poor customer service decision. Unless I receive a full refund of $159.60, I will soon divest myself from the Dodge Stratus and the Ram 1500.

First I must say that I have had a lot of warranty work done to this vehicl
First I must say that I have had a lot of warranty work done to this vehicle already and that in itself is depression. The brakes however have been a problem since I purchased the truck. Since the first 100 miles I started seeing brake dust build up on my chrome rims. At 30 thousand miles I had it at the dealer for a sensor problem that was under warranty and asked them to check the brakes. I was then informed that I would need all new brake pads because there was a lot of rust on the brakes built up from not driving it as much. So the brakes were changed but the dust problem persisted. So with the price of gas going down I started using the truck more and more. (No more sitting and rusting). Now at 58 thousand miles it was in for the recall and more warranty work and I asked them to check the brakes again. It wasnt hard to detect a problem since I had a loss of power, heavy brake dust build up and when I stopped on a slight incline and put the truck in neutral it did not roll. I was informed by the service department that the arch enemy RUST was back but this time it was because of it being exposed to the harsh climate that I live in. Now I needed all 4 wheels not only brakes but calipers, rotors, pads brackets you name it I needed it replaced, because of RUST! What the dealer was going to charge me amounted to a down payment on a new truck. Although I could do the work myself I had a friend of mine who is a certified mechanic do the work for less than 1 quarter of the cost of the dealer. While doing the repairs he found that the rear axle seals were leaking and had contaminated my parking brake. So I contacted the dealer again and the seals are covered under warranty but, if you havent already guessed the parking brakes are not.Now after reading online and talking with certified mechanics this seems to be a widespread problem with Chrysler vehicles. So should this not be addressed by the National Highway Safety Administration? Perhaps these vehicles should be recalled. Brakes are a safety concern to everyone driving on the roadways, Are they Not? These vehicles are advertised as work horses and machines that are made to tow. So why cant they stop as well. Also after having aftermarket part installed and a few hundred miles later, still no brake dust, mileage has increased by almost 4mpg and it rolls freely when in neutral.

This is my second Ram and it will be the last. I needed a good reliable truck since I travel for a living in it. So I purchased a brand 2014 Ram 1500 crew cab in June 2014. I have put 15k mile on it and love the room and performance of my truck. However, the 8 speed transmission has issues and was in shop for a day. Note: It took 3 weeks for the dealer to get the parts. Im not sure if it’s been fixed since I only got to drive it for about 3 weeks and then it had a major oil leak. I took it to my dealer on Dec. 19th and today is Jan. 3rd and I still do not have my truck. The dealership told me it would be 3 weeks, which is stupid! So, I contacted Dodge and they cannot give me a reason other than they are trying to locate a part. I was referred to a case manager whom hasnt returned any of my 4 calls. Also, I was given the part mgr. number at corp. office. Once again, No return phone calls. I like my truck but, I will not deal with this lack of service from Dodge Ram Trucks. My dealer has been great to deal with but this new V-6 has issue with the oil filter housing and the 8 speed transmission does too. I thought I was buying the truck of the year. But I made a big mistake. Buyer Beware. I wouldnt recommend anyone purchase this truck unless you are looking for trouble.

We purchased this vehicle brand new in 2011. We love the truck and have never had any issues with it except for the paint chipping off and its rusting already at 4 years old. At approximately a year old we noticed a random chip above one of the headlights. You can tell it bubbled up and chipped off. The damage was not from a rock or an accident. We now have 2 different rust spots. One is on the end gate coming out from the dodge emblem and the other is right above the windshield. Like I stated, love the truck but am very disappointed in the quality of the paint!!

Took trip to Calgary. Needed fuel filters. Tried to get service on a Saturday. Couldnt get service. Here are some of the things I was told. Bear in mind this is a NEW DODGE DIESEL (OWNED LESS THAN A YEAR): This is our busy season so you will need to book after Wed. We dont have a mechanic in on Saturdays and one of the filters is tricky. It will leak if not done properly. Try Mr Lube. Mr Lube says too new a vehicle, we dont stock these filters (also remember I was told one filter is tricky so why would a dealership suggest Mr Lube). Sorry, we dont have these filters in stock.

We bought a new 2013 Dodge Ram a week ago. My hubby was on his way home from work yesterday and he had a blowout. Now Dodge is charging us for the new tire. The truck is a week old. My hubby could have been killed. Very lucky my two year old son wasnt aboard. They are claiming that there is a nail hole in the tire and that’s what caused the blow out. As if passing over $50,000 to them for the truck wasnt enough. Now we are driving around with a 17 inch dummy tire on our brand new truck. She is off level from having 20 inch tires on all besides one. Something needs to be done about this.

Just over 2 years ago I purchased a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4x4 from Vasko Dodge located near Canonsburg, PA. The truck has 23,000 miles on it. The truck currently has just over 36,000 miles on it. During my 13,000 miles of ownership to date, the following has been replaced or repaired on this truck (majority of which were sold to me this way): broken front wheel; air filter with 1/2 inch of dirt; windshield wipers; windshield washer fluid empty; front tie rod end; front coil overs/struts; repaired dent/rust on tail gate (Part of Sales Agreement/I paid a discount); tires; front brakes and rotors; rear brakes and rotors; transmission fluid; trans axle fluid; transfer case fluid; spark plugs; anti-freeze; fuel injectors had to be cleaned so engine would idle properly; gas cap; pressure sensor for gas tank (so check engine light would go out); and serpentine belt. I have an office job and all this truck hauls is a DVD movie and a bag of groceries on occasion. This truck is nothing a but a poorly built pile of junk and a money pit that has taken away from the quality of my life and caused me much stress and anxiety. Never again! I am done with Dodge.

Dodge RAM has had a long-term, well-known problem where sometimes when the driver hits a small bump in the road the truck starts shaking violently and wont stop until the truck slows way down. The claim is that it has been fixed in the 2013 model but it has happened to my 2013 RAM 3500 three times. The truck has 13000 miles and is in perfect condition. I took it to the dealer and at first he claimed that hed never heard of the death wobble. I showed him dozens of internet articles, including references to many notices to the dealers about this problem. After that he admitted that he knew about it but said there was nothing he could do. He inspected the truck and said that it looks perfect. Only it still has the death wobble. Now what?

I added 1 foot of hose to the axle vent and ran it over the frame and pointed it at the ground. No more problems the way Dodge had it, any water ran into the axle. BAD DESIGN.

I bought new a 2008 2500 Dodge Ram work truck with the 6.7L Cummins engine. I pamper this truck. it is almost shameful how lightly I use this machine, but sometimes I need to tow small work trailers while the truck is loaded over short distances. It is a manual shift 6 speed. I now have 45,000 easy miles on it. I am now 1,000 miles into the second clutch on the truck, and (thanks to Crown Dodge in Ventura Ca. and some worn-out ball joints) I am $6,400 poorer! I was told then that 35,000 is all you can expect out of a Dodge clutch. The truck also only gets 12.3 MPG empty on the freeway! Why has this expensive work truck worn out so quickly after so light a work load and low miles? Why do my friends with similar trucks get 20 MPG? I guess I need to try and trade in this truck and buy something that will hold up. I dont think it will be a Ram. Perhaps, the unions could fix my problems!? This is shameful.

This is my third Ram, 2006, 2012 and now 2016. This is by far the worst truck I have ever owned, and the worst dealer service experience! The dealer was in too much of a hurry to put me in a truck, they failed to hear my needs and wants, from the get go with a salesperson who was actually a corporate rep, visiting the dealership this day. He did not listen to my towing needs, and everything he promised me for free (thrown in) was just added to my bill of sale, and my application was for 0% down, 0% financing - and in the end was 3.49%, which was not communicated to me at all.So, first I did not end with a hitch receiver, towing mirrors, or brake module - I had to buy a receiver for $300 and a brake module for $500 plus $90 to program it. I was forced to buy this, as the dealer would not help me and I had to move my trailer promptly. Second the rep promised me the truck could tow my trailers and handle the capacities. The truck falls short by 3000 lbs. because the 8 speed trans. and 3:21 rear gear combo are ** - something the rep failed to even look at and confirm capacities - and assured me that this truck could handle my towing needs. NOT!The truck: the front end is loose - rattles over tracks and bumps, shakes violently on highway (death wobble close) - tires have been balance three times, steering column shakes and rattles, transmission growls, shudders, clunks (when putting into gear or decelerating), vibrates on highway. Rear end clunks, tow haul button doesnt work, gas gauge glitches, headlight out of aim, antenna loose, leather seat clips came off, door weather strip fell off, hood is not aligned with fender, led lights fell out of back seat. When towing my 3500 lb. trailer in tow haul mode the trans. feels like it wants to explode (loud growling and vibration) at any speed. This experience may be only from my particular truck and dealer but I feel it warrants this submission!

I called the dealership about my 2014 Dodge 1500 Outdoorsman with a bunch of problems. It has only 40.000 km on it. I have to pump the brakes. The service advisor said this was normal. Both bumpers are rusting. I was told it is residual rust by the service advisor. The first time and the second time it was due to road sand and was not warrantied. The truck will do random horn honk and door lock at lights or just sitting parked. It wont do it at the dealer so it is my problem. Engine has bad chain and lifter noise after being parked for 3 to 5 days but the service advisor told me this is normal for that type of engine. After a few hours of driving it starts to get a right hub howl but it wont do it at the dealership so it is my problem until it breaks. After driving a few hours on the highways when you slow down for a light you get different cluck. But because it wont do it at the dealership it is my problem until it breaks. I have reported all this to Chrysler Canada but their answer is well if the dealer cant find it or wont do it at the dealership then wont do anything and the rusting bumpers is normal wear due to road conditions. I payed extra for extended warranty even tire warranty. If I hadnt pay the truck off I would have driven it back to the dealership and walked away. They tell me I can come down and trade it one.

Backup camera works on and off since 60k. Fuel gauge which is inside the fuel pump was replaced at 90k. Now Remote door lock does not open doors Everytime. (Key and battery are fine.) I bought a 2006 Ram 2500 Quad Cab 4x4 with the Hemi in December 2005. I loved the truck for its looks, comfort, power and performance. I do not work the truck, except to plow my own 500 ft. driveway and to tow a 10 ft. enclosed motorcycle trailer to trade shows about 9 times a year, all under 200 miles each way. Other than that, it is used to commute to my shop, or for enjoyment, hunting etc. All was pretty good with it for the first 18K miles. Then the rear end went, with a bang. It went again about 20K later. The fuel pump, 5 injectors, 4 coils, all spark plug wires, intake manifold gaskets, and the catalytic converter went bad. Two O2 sensors, the headlight dimmer switch, the ignition switch and the body control computer failed. Both upper and lower ball joints on both sides had to be replaced along with the tie rod ends. Both right and left front axle u-joints failed along with the front drive shaft u-joints. The rear drive shaft u-joints failed.... 4 times EACH. The tail light electrical harness failed. The hood latch broke twice. The tailgate latch failed after 150 miles, causing the gate to fall open and dent itself on the trailer we were hauling. The e-brake failed. All four rotors rotted away, and 2 calipers failed. The front axle bearings failed. The bolts holding the left exhaust manifold rotted away, TWICE. The right hand manifold bolts failed once. The left side headlight harness failed. The catalytic converter failed again. The transmission shift control malfunctioned. The muffler rotted out. The tailpipe fell off. The oil pan rusted through. The air conditioning blender doors broke twice..... $1000 each time. The serpentine belt tensioner fell off. The anti-lock brake controller failed. The left side of the pickup box rusted through above the wheel well. The sliding rear window leaked from day one. The headlight switch broke. The body control computer failed a second time. The check engine light came on for a total of at LEAST 40 times, and was checked, reset, fixes made and turned off each time. AND, that was only after I only started counting after the first year. AND, all of this took place in 62,000 miles. The truck cost me $8500 out of pocket for the last year I owned it. After 62K miles, I FINALLY got rid of it. And, I am NOT hard on my truck. I have another vehicle for work. THIS one was for pleasure. It received proper maintenance and service, and still was a POS. NEVER buying Dodge again, and this was the fourth I had........ NEVER again.

Took it to the dealer where I purchased it to find out why it locked up. They have no idea - possibly a caliper defect. Bottom line have to replace both rear calipers and pads and have the fluid flushed. Never in 30+ years of owning Chrysler products have I had a caliper lock up at any mileage and I have had trucks with over 250000 miles. 2014 Ram 1500. 1000 miles after purchase. Horrible gear hunting between 2/3 - 3/4. Trans bangs at highway speed when you hit gas to pass. Trans sometimes revs with no power. I called Chrysler several times and they finally opened a star case and I went to a different dealer. Chrysler contacted dealer before I got there. Dealer would not let me ride along with tech. Surprise surprise.. Dealer and Chrysler came back and said the truck performs as designed. What a coincidence!!! I even showed them video of the issues. Test drive other Rams of the same year and model. We installed both a front and rear bumper replacement on a 2016 Dodge Ram. During the process we removed the sensors in the factory bumpers and reinstalled them in the aftermarket bumpers. The sensors failed to come back on so we sent it to the Dodge dealership for re-calibration. They discovered that six of the sensors had failed. The total bill will be just under $1000. How is it that these sensors are so sensitive that they cannot stand such a simple process as removal and re-installation? If these sensors are really this sensitive, they must be a faulty design and should be recalled.

I called them back at 500 and they said to give it until 1000 miles. At about 1500 miles I made them give me an appointment. It was over 2 quarts low on oil. They saw the smoke and topped it off. Now they have me doing an oil consumption test? Every 500 miles I have to go to dealer and they check it and top it off!It is averaging between a half a quart to 3/4 of a quart each time. They claim it is protocol that I have to do this up until 7500 miles! That nothing can be done until the break-in period but monitor it! This is insane! I have to drive to dealer every 500 miles. The truck is going to burn over 5 quarts before its first oil change! The warranty people on phone said this is normal protocol! Soooo over $40,000 on new truck, 5 quarts of oil per oil change and people coming up to me constantly telling me my brand new truck sure was smoking when I started it up (extremely embarrassing). Lesson learned.

I go for a test drive for Ram 1500 new model 2019. It was amazing and I like the new touch screen and the performance of the new engine but I was expected to try the new diesel engine which I read about it in the ram web site but as they told me the new engine didnt release in the market yet but overall the new ram is an amazingly good car. I want to buy the new model but I didnt have too much support from manager there due to my credit history.

I purchased my Ram 3500 2014 from Scottsdale Airpark ram in Arizona. This dealership will not help me with any of the below issues. Chrysler, paid a tech to do a ride along, and the tech seen all the below issues, but the computer said the truck was fine. Well it is NOT fine. This is the biggest piece of ** on the road. Please read #15. Very important. 1) The exhaust break does NOT work. 2) There is no power from the turbo. I cant even tow my 10,000 lb toy hauler up a hill. On my way to Flagstaff a 1973 40 Winnebago passed me. WTF! 3) Passenger rear light out, still shows up on screen. Airpark ram cant fix this. 4) Passenger light on step is now out. It was working when I dropped it off on 12-3-14. 5) Steering wheel is still sloppy. There is too much play. This is the fifth time they tightened it. 6) There is masking tape residue on the passenger side, after the windshield was removed at Airpark, to install the new ceiling. 7) Still no stopping power from truck breaks when trailer is hooked up. 8) Replace ceiling. Bill has it ordered. Never installed after a month and a half. 9) Tires are bald. Bill has an email to Coy. Waiting on response. Response was Not our problem. 10) There still is loud eerie creaking noises coming from truck, when in off position. 11) The horn sometimes sounds weak. You can hardly hear it. 12) Still no power and lag when towing a trailer. 13) The truck auto starts on its own. 14) The truck will not let you in sometimes when using the remote.15) BE VERY CAREFUL!!!!! The truck will go into full acceleration when you are driving. It has almost KILLED me, and others when this happens.I would like to start a class action lawsuit. Please call if you have the same issues.

2016 Ram 4x4 Ecodiesel MPG - Went in for software updates. They also changed a sensor that went out in the exhaust. Since this I cannot get over 20 MPG and before I use to get 28 to 31 MPG. I bought this and sold my Tundra for the MPG as I commute. Whats up with this RAM? I think they should have to refund my money or fix it for 20 MPG. I could have bought a heavy duty 2500 or a gas truck? Has to be a law on this false MPG claims.

Dodge Ram Rebel 1500. Purchased from Key Dodge, Lebanon, New Hampshire. Dodge Ram has in floor storage beneath rear passenger feet on both sides of the vehicle. Driving down a dirt road stick or branch kicked up. Broke plastic in floor bin/storage into interior of vehicle. Stopped by Key dealership to inquire as to pricing for parts. Was led to believe damage was indeed covered under warranty. Vehicle brought to dealership the next day and received a call two hours later after inspection of vehicle and informed that warranty would not cover damage. In order to do repairs for bin/storage the entire floor carpeting needs to be replaced. Interior of vehicle now is able to be exposed to outside elements i.e. road salt, dirt. Bad design flaw for an off-road capable vehicle plastic bin exposed on underbody of vehicle where road debris most certainly come into contact with said bin. Maybe some metal guard over bin or different bin/storage construction.

The Ram 2500 Alpine radio is great! Way better than the GMC boise system (no highs no lows must be Boise) you heard the saying. Also power and towing are great on the Ram. I have 60,000 miles now and I am wondering why I bought the lifetime warranty. The only thing that has happened is I bought a Dcx tuner from a company online and it locked up the ecm and had to buy a new one because they knew I tried to install it and that obviously would not be covered under warranty. When I get oil changes we laugh about it now. I also like the seats, dash, the way the Taylor hooks up makes sense not like the GM who does not think about the ergonomic when they build a truck. Theirs is more like a car a crapy car. Also the GM is so quiet that I almost got t-boned by a ambulance. The suspension is so loose it feels like you can flip over if you turned hard. Its just not a real truck. Now Im not saying I dont like frills. My Ram has heated and cooled seats, front and back sunroof, all the frills the GM has and they work better. The GM people are rude, slick like an old TV car salesman. The Ram dealerships are normal regular people. Ram 5 stars, GM 0. Mad GM took the bailout your money you pay out of your check every week not tax money, your money.

I purchased my Ram truck, new in September of 2021. Within a few months of owning it and just under 7,000 miles I started having vibration/drivability issues. My truck has been in the shop for the same issue approximately 9 times in the past year. I started a claim with Stellantis (Owns FCA) towards the beginning of December 2021 after several weeks of waiting I received an offer to buy back my defective truck. The offer I received to buy back my truck was far from satisfactory and would leave me still owing approximately $16,000 on my loan. I was then offered a cash and keep option, $4,000 and a CDI code (employee pricing). I countered with $5,000 and the CDI code to which they accepted. However, come to find out there are no dealerships willing to honor that CDI code on inventory already in transit or currently on their lot.I was told by multiple dealers of the RAM brand that if I wanted to use this code and receive a new truck at the employee pricing I would have to order something and wait at least 60-90 days, if not longer. I am now expected to continue driving an unsafe defective truck that the dealership has been unable to determine what is causing the issue, putting my family and I in harms way from a potential failure.I have been a loyal Ram/Jeep owner for the past several years and always appreciated how well the customer service was and the fact that they stood behind their brand. It is absolutely absurd to me that a company would not stand behind their brand in this case. How a company can expect a customer to continue driving and paying for a defective vehicle, take a loss on the buy back of their defective product, or accept a cash and keep option with a CDI code that cannot be immediately used to help a family get into a safe vehicle is absurd! The fact that Stellantis is okay with this vehicle remaining in service with the safety and drivability issues it has is extremely disheartening.

At 35000 km, my Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins developed a coolant leak. Its so serious that it was towed the dealership. As it turned out, one of the 2 bolts that hold the pump in place had come right out. Now, it gets good! I was told that they have to order this bolt. One bolt, what could be special about this bolt that it could not be found anywhere but at a MOPAR warehouse? While my truck was in the shop, I asked that they look at the recall, front end, and tie rod. As it turned out again, I need new tie rod ends. They have to be ordered. I was told they would be ordered with the bolt. The next day, the bolt was in and installed; the tie rod parts were not shipped. First, Im told by the service manager that they were not aware that one was needed when in fact I was told the day before. Then I was told that there is a limit to how many tie rods they are allowed to order per week! Really?

I have been a Mopar fan for a long time (that is all that I own). I needed new brakes on the front end of my 2007 Ram 1500, 4x4 four door pick-up ( the originals finally wore out). I usually do all of my own maintenance work on my vehicles, so I purchased new rotors, brake pads and small parts kit at my local parts supplier. Once I got into the job, I discovered that my new pads were much larger than the ones on my truck. Thinking that the counter man had made a mistake, I checked online to see what the correct part number was. The counter man had given me the correct part, apparently the factory had installed the brakes for a two door truck on my four door truck. These brake pads are significantly smaller than what should have been installed. I feel, that as a result, my safety has been compromised. My truck is equipped with a hemi which has had several power adders installed, and I occasionally tow a trailer with it. With these smaller brakes, I no longer feel as safe as I did, I wonder how many times in the past my brakes were ready to fade, and I was unaware. I am just reporting this to alert other owners to be aware that they might have the same condition as me. I feel that Chrysler did me a disservice and showed a certain lack of regard for my safety, and the safety of those that I share the road with. I am now in the process of researching which parts are the correct parts for my truck so that I may replace them for my peace of mind. The truck is my baby, so I wont consider getting rid of it. I still like Mopar, and their styling, but I am extremely disappointed in them. As of this writing, there have been no consequences, but I will be changing My Front end parts till I can have the bigger safer brakes.

Especially, do not buy from Love Chrysler in Alice, Texas. They could never fix your truck but they could keep sure could find something wrong with it. We spent over $20,000 on repairs and finally just went and bought a new Ford Truck. We will never ever step inside a Dodge Chrysler Dealership again to buy a car or truck. Why cant all of us who have been sold lemons band together and make Dodge Chrysler stand behind their repairs.

Bought my Laramie in April 2014. Always was a Ford man - decided to try the Cummins. Bought brand new and wow this is the biggest letdown of my life. Since the second week of buying both front seats came apart at the fasteners and as of 8/21/14 I am waiting for the okay to replace them from Chrysler. The fourth week came around with a check engine light on so with broken seats that ripped my wifes dress I took it to the dealer. They said they cant figure out the code it produced so they just reset it. Two weeks later it was on again along with def service at dealer also tire pressure monitor system failed and the data radio has lost all presets and cuts in and out. Took to another dealer and they said theyre ordering parts and the radio had a recall. One month later came out from work to drive the two hour ride home from work - truck wont start, had to wait for tow truck. Now I am at a third dealership with my 68 thousand dollar truck chained down to a tow truck and I repeat the process of explaining the broken seats check engine light def service light tire monitoring needs service radio data system is still broke after the first recall etc. They call me a week later saying it is all fixed...I drove the two hours back making my wife miss work because they wont issue a truck to borrow while yours is getting fixed. Show up and nothing is fixed but they ordered all the parts. The truck starts though but still has broken seats def service by dealer tire pressure monitoring service are all still there. They ordered parts and will call. They told me it was a loose battery connection. I laughed cause that was my first thought as I checked it being I am a local 12 heavy equipment mechanic for the last 18 years and had my service truck right there. They lie cause I was fed up and got the Chrysler resolution team involved, the day I was stranded two hours away from home not returning to my house until 2am 11 hours after my truck wouldnt start and my wife got off work and picked me up. I have owned the truck 7 months and have been to the dealer 7 times - nothing has been fixed, just ordered with no call backs. After this month Im giving it back to the bank and will have a repossession all because Chrysler fiat ram cares nothing about customer service or their disgusting product. To all my union brothers, dont buy a ram or dodge - it will be a disaster you wont ever recover from. Stick with the Rord super duty or Chevrolet, they wont leave you and yours helplessly stranded lost and confused in the dark.

Well, after taking the hijacked vehicle into the dealer, they were just as puzzled as to why the truck popped the Service DEF, See Dealer message as according to their tech, the entire system checked out. Regardless, they performed a reset of the PCM and supposedly updated it to the latest version. Thus far the truck is running, but who knows if this issue will crop up again. In any case, my original rating has to stand as this is outrageous that they will put out into limp mode, on an otherwise perfectly running vehicle, after 200 miles. It would make sense to simply warn to correct the error or at least extend the range/speed to a more reasonable level.

I purchased 2015 Dodge Ram last December with about 30,000, miles on it. Since then it has had FOUR safety recalls and the major recall on the power steering is being ignored. My local auto mechanic told me to see recall number - 16-U-167, but Dodge is stating there is no recall on this repair which just cost me over $2,700. I asked to cover at least half the cost of this repair. Rick ** at Christopher Dodge, agreed that this type of repair should not happen at low millage if at all, but they refused make amends and sent me to Dodge. I see a recall (note below) on the internet, but they should be standing behind their product either way. IF the power steering had gone out while I was driving I could have been killed. This will be my last Dodge. https://repairpal.com/recall/16V167000.Summary: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Ram 1500 trucks manufactured January 22, 2015, to September 13, 2015. Contamination on the Electric Power Steering (EPS) control circuit board may cause a short and result in the loss of power steering assist. Any advice would be appreciated.

We have taken our 2015 Ram 3500 Tradesman diesel numerous times to three different dealers to try and find the source of diesel exhaust coming into the cab through the air ducts especially when the heater is on because the air does not recycle. It makes our entire family sick. We are being poisoned by diesel exhaust. Ram claims that no one else has this problem which is obviously a lie. It sounds like Thaddeus of S. This is a serious health issue and Ram needs to address it immediately before someone who doesnt have the same sensitivity to smells dies of diesel exhaust poisoning. Look it up on the internet. It is serious. It can cause chest pains up to two days later. Immediate issues include headache, nausea, throat and eye irritation. Please call Dodge Ram and complain if you have a similar problem. Took them 2 visits to the shop to get the leak fixed - cruise to this day still wont work properly. Then it had trouble starting - took it in. Now they tell me it needs new fuel injectors. Took them 4 months to finally get them installed. Only because I called and called! Then my sat. radio stopped working and a few days later my radio just keeps turning on and off!! Also randomly my wipers stopped working. The paint is cracked on 2 spots - whats next? I bought this because Im just starting out a new family and thought by getting new, I could count on no problems. What do I do next... Really want to get out of this truck and into something else!

The handling of the Ram is a bit tough because of the rear of the truck being so light but Ive added weight by placing blocks in the bed and covering them easily as not to be seen. The price of the truck is a bit costly. With gas prices rising they should bring the price down. Otherwise the performance and durability are worth the money. I would recommend this truck to all. I have a 2012 Dodge RAM 5.7 Hemi with a #5 misfire problem. The problem was reported to the dealership at the last oil change, but all they did was reset the fault code and returned the vehicle to service, exclaiming they could not duplicate the problem. Took it in last week and informed them of my concerns. Two days ago, received a call from the Tech Representative requesting permission to accomplish a complete tuneup, i.e. spark plugs, possible bad coil pack, and to perform a fuel system clean and flush. Aghast, I responded that this was a complete waste of time! On top of that, the service departments wants $775.00 dollars just for a tuneup. Obviously I think they are trying to find ways to make normal servicing so expensive that I would either choose to take my truck back and fix it myself (which voids the warranty), or to pay them a hell of a lot of money to do something that would only take about 1.5 hours. This is so they could pay the techs and the Reps labor for completing a warranty replacement, should it come down to that.I already know what is wrong with the engine. #5 (and sometimes, 1, and 3 cylinders) have a history of failing due to faulty valve seat design. The hemi heads utilized pressed-in valve seats that are powder coated from Mexico (theres problem number 1), and these rings eventually work themselves out of the valve ports, mostly the exhaust side, but sometimes the intake side. As the seats back out, but doesnt completely fall out, compression is lost although not entirely gone. This explains why some of the misfiring only happens at 3/4 to WOT responses. In severe cases, the seats come out complete resulting in destroying the piston, the heads, and possibly the timing chain if enough forced impact occurs.I have 4,000 miles left on the warranty, and it is quite clear that the dealership in Sumter South Carolina is trying to throw the vehicle back at me without actually repairing my truck. And if the tune-up doesnt solve the problem, they will have constituted SOME labor expenses from the most expensive tune-up in recorded history! $95 diagnostic charge, and nearly $700 bucks for a tuneup for no more than 1 to 2 hours of work! What ticks me off is how Chrysler has continued to engage in mafia style treatment in forcing consumers to buy their crap, con them into buying the extended warranty, and yet refuse to honor the warranty when circumstances are warranted. How in the name of God are these people allowed to continue bamboozling the American people?I have been screwed twice before from Dodge! My 1997 Dodge Stratus 2.4 liter lost a head gasket at 48,000 miles. Repairs were at my own expensive at about $650 bucks. A year later, the gasket failed again, only this time resulting in a seized engine! I next bought a 2002 Stratus R/T with the worthless 2.7 liter engine. This engine lost a water pump at 89,000 miles. But because the pump is internal, and a special tool is required to depressurize the timing chain tension pump, I was left with paying Chrysler some $900 dollars in repairs. 8 months later, it failed again only this time destroying the engine! Now my 2012 RAM may need an engine replacement, and at best, the dealership will choose a Jasper engine which are nothing but crap! Total crap! And thats even if the dealership doesnt try backing the truck back at me with a continued problem! The solution folks? DO NOT BUY DODGE! And ignore some of the online trolls telling you they have over 300,000 miles and counting on their trucks and cars. Some (if not all) of those people are paid trolls to defend Chryslers worthless piles of junk! The 5.9 engines were not that bad. Sure they were under-powered compared to the Hemis, but very rarely did any 5.9 engines fail except under vehicle maintenance neglect. There is absolutely no reason why my 2012 Dodge RAM truck should have a worn camshaft, worn lifter roller, faulty valve-seat rings, and all leading to misfiring of cylinder 5 with under 100,000 miles accumulated!Fool me once, shame on you! Fool me twice, shame on me! Fool me thrice, then double shame on me! I swear to Chrysler that I will never buy another Dodge vehicle ever again! Moreover, I will ensure that no future customers are fooled into buying your pieces of crap! Facebook, Youtube, online forms will be filled with my rants! And trust me! Ive personally seen three people in my town with this very same problem, 2 of which had theirs repaired under warranty, but the other screwed. Looks like I am next!

Dodge Ram 1500 SLT is a great truck! Very good value for the price. I recommend the one with a v8 (Hemi or not). The truck has given zero abnormal maintenance over the years. The only things Ive replaced have been tires, brakes, battery and belt.

Let me begin by saying that I love my truck! But can tell you that Dodge service is subpar and over the top expensive. I took my 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 into the place I had bought it from. When I put the key in nothing happened. They had it for 3 weeks. I told them just leave it like it is and had it towed to Dodge. Dodge had it fixed in 1 day. Great right? Well when I got in my truck to take it home the console was just set back in place. I brought the mechanic out to look at it. He said Thats the way it came in. Are you kidding me? How am I supposed to drive this? I had to take it back to the first place I went to finish the job Because he wasnt sure how to put the console back in. YOURE THE DEALER! Its your truck. My second was when my key fob stopped working. I cant unlock my truck using my remote. I have to remove the key from its fob and unlock it old School. I go to the dealer (the only place you can go) and they say Sure, $300 please. Youre Kidding? Nope! Thats why most people just use the key. $30,000 and I have to use a key? Unless you give me $300. This brings me to my most recent fun filled experience. My engine light is on. After taking it to a trusted mechanic shop they tell me the only way they can get the light out is to take it to the dealer for an update on your system that only the dealer can do. In 2012 there was a Technical service bulletin issued for my truck. As I was NOT the original owner I was not notified. Now in 2017 the only way I can get my truck to pass smog is to take it to Dodge and PAY $120 to have my system updated. THEIR SYSTEM updated in my truck. After all it takes Labor to plug my truck into a computer for 5 minutes and push START. When I asked if this would solve the issue they said maybe not. You should have us do a diagnostic on it first for $210. If it turns out to just need the update will that money be covered in the $210? No. The $120 will be added to the $210. Sooo, I need to pay for an update to a system in one of your trucks when anything on my phone that is a Bug or systemic problem with their programming they just update it for free as its a programming issue on their end and nothing I did. To quote Yep. And if I do get the diagnostic test done Ill still need to pay for the update regardless so youre going to get $330 no matter what? Sounds like it. Does it at least come with lube? HaHa. Im not laughing. I called national customer service. Here Comes the final straw. He brings up that my warranty had run out. I told him thats impossible. I paid $1500 for the extended warranty 100,000 miles or 10 years. Its 8 years old and only has 71,000 miles. He told me the truck wasnt brought in for its 30,000 mile checkup so the warranty was voided. It had 38,000 miles on it when I bought it in 2012. How come I wasnt told about that then. As I wasnt the original owner I guess I wasnt notified. So what about the $1500 I spent on YOUR warranty. Sorry. I love my truck but I can see to keep it on the road its going to really keep costing me and it sure doesnt feel like Dodge cares all that much.

I purchased new two 3500 Diesel. One 2004 the other 2007. They both have had major issues with the front end. The infamous Death Wobble on both trucks began occurring around 40K. The 2007 was my wifes until it started the wobble. The drag link in the 07 broke clean on two different occasions. The first time was the night of my first childs wedding night. Went to back the truck up so we could load gifts and heard a loud Bang. The drag link sheared at the threads. I purchased a new link from NAPA and paid for their most heavy duty, lifetime warranty. Took the truck to an alignment shop and had it aligned and inspected (Ball joints, u-joints, etc.). A month later while driving at 80 mph on the Interstate I crossed over a bridge with a slight bump and the truck began wobbling and then bang!!. Wobbling stopped but I knew what had happened and coasted to the emergency lane applying the emergency (rear) brakes. When the truck was almost at a stop I pressed on the front brakes and the truck skidded. I got out and the driver side wheel was 90 degrees pointing out. The irony is I was on my way to a local dealer for a recall on the front ball joint. I had the truck towed to the dealer. They inspected the Ball Joint, said it was fine and then gave me a 6 line item list on what was wrong and needed to be fixed. $5500.00 estimate. I told the service writer to leave the truck alone and I would have it towed to a service facility that I trust. I replaced the Drag Link again, took the pile of ** to have it aligned again. The alignment owner told me to replace the front stabilizer shock and use Monroe brand instead of the Super Heavy Duty rock-n roll brands. They had had the best luck with Monroe. For the next three years I could only drive safely at top speed of 60 mph if I wanted to avoid the Death Wobble and possibly break another link. I will not let anyone else drive the thing for their safety. I put a more heavy duty tracking bar and an aftermarket stabilizer bracket on it. Still could only go 60 mph and feel safe. A few months ago I replaced the front hub assemblies and U-Joints.By doing so the truck feels like it did when I purchased it new. Now I can go 80 mph plus and feel safe. Regarding the 04, the front stabilizer tie rod broke and the truck doesnt Death Wobble any longer. Im tempted to leave the thing broken. Once a Dodge... Always a Dodge. Ill never buy Dodge again. Most DANGEROUS vehicles Ive ever owned!!! Im thinking the new Nissan with Cummins and Allison Tranny looks Real Good.

I have a 2014 Dodge 1500 Ecodiesel. I have had the injectors rebuilt, the inner cooler replaced. Now they say the turbo boost is bad, the exhaust system had to be cleaned. I only have 50,000 miles on it. Chrysler says they are working with the dealership to resolve the problem. I have had my truck for about 8 days in April. Its in the shop now with no idea when it will be done.

The timing chain broke on my 2007 Ram 1500 4x4 5.7L hemi engine with 53,000 miles. After an internal inspection, it appeared as if the timing chain tensioner was to blame. It is a stamped metal piece with plastic runner clipped onto it to keep the timing chain tight. Well, it look as if these plastic pieces failed causing the timing chain to grab the metal on the tensioner and rip it apart snapping the chain and locking up the engine. My vehicle is no longer under factory warranty. But I still contacted Dodge and they say that there is no warranty and that I must take it to the dealer for them to look at it and that any repair would be a Goodwill Repair. I explained to them that I do not have the monetary means to have the vehicle towed to Dodge inspected and then towed home again when they tell me there is no warranty. I still owe more than $21,000.00 on the truck and can’t drive it. What am I to do?

I purchased my 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 truck in 2013 and initially didnt have any issues. The first issue happened in June of this year. After having towed nothing the first 2 years, I purchased a 44 RV. After the second tow, a trip to Louisiana, the engine began to bog down on me and lose power. I took it in to the dealer to get it checked out and they hit me with a $2,000 estimate for repairs. Said the EGR valve was bad ($799 for part) and needed to be replaced. They also said a front ABS wheel sensor was bad and needed to be replaced as well. Guess what, my warranty didnt cover one cent of the repairs. They said this wasnt covered in the warranty. Go Figure! Well now I have a bad taste in my mouth for having to dish out so much money. Ive always wanted to own a dually and found that the Dodge was more affordable to me. Anyway, I chalked it up as a loss and moved on. That is, until now that I have gotten a Perform Service Soon light on my dash. After consulting my owners manual, it says I need to take it in to get emissions maintenance performed. Emissions/EGR Valve....Do you see where Im going with this? So I call the dealer and ask for cost. For starters, it will cost me $110/hr. to just check out the problem. Ive owned several Nissan vehicles and let me tell you, it never costs me a cent for them to troubleshoot any problems that I have. Also, I have never paid over $200 for any issue with them. They cover almost everything and better yet their vehicles rarely break down. At least the ones I have owned havent, thanks to God! Anyway, I think I am about to trade my Dodge in for a Chevy or Ford. I wont be able to afford paying Dodge for all the high repair costs and maintain payments at the same time. I really wish Nissan would come out with a ton pick up!!

2003 Ram truck 1500 Crew PU 4x4 Quad - I purchased my Ram new in 2003 and absolutely love this truck. I take very good care of my truck and in return it takes very good care of me. Last week I had a roll over - sideways luckily and walked away without a scratch. This truck is built like a tank. Though the insurance company totaled it, I was offered a fair amount of settlement and intend to fix my baby up. Now, I did hear from several sources in multiple states that Dodges newer trucks are way below the quality level of their older models such as mine. What I cant determine is exactly when (what year) Dodge started messing with a very, very strong, dependable vehicle. So, for you folks that purchased a newer Dodge truck, I regret that you will not be experiencing the wonderful, dependable, strong truck of years ago. Dodge, you messed up and are losing and will continue to lose the large number of faithful Ram customers because you decided to ruin a wonderful product... So, so sad.

A plastic cover blew off the passenger side mirror of my 2009 Dodge Ram 1500. This occurred while I was driving. I went to the Clear Lake Dodge to get a replacement plastic cover prior to any electronic damage occurring due to environmental exposure. I purchased an extended Bumber/Bumber warranty program at the time of purchase. This is still valid. I was told this was cosmetic and would not be covered under warranty. The mirror, however, would have been covered. There is nothing wrong with the mirror.I was taken to the parts department and told that the $5-10 plastic cover could not be purchased separately. I was informed that the entire mirror assembly would need to be purchased and installed at a later date. I was told by the service manager that this was a Chrysler policy and there was nothing that could be done. I am a loyal Chrysler customer with my previous vehicle being a Pacifica. I will be in the market for future family vehicle purchases. This experience calls into question any future Chrysler product purchases.

I am 32 years old and have owned 3 Ram trucks. I bought all 3 as the second owner from a Dodge Dealership. I bought a 2012 Ram 2500 with the Hemi 18 months ago. It was over 100k miles but had only one owner who had all the maintenance completed at the dealership. It appeared to be a super clean truck. Within the first 6 months the solenoid went bad in the transmission. $500. Now I am facing a bad camshaft and poor lifters. $3500. I have had the truck less than 18 months and am dumping over $4,000 into this truck and that is just to get it back to normal. Ram of course only has the same junk camshaft and lifters to put back into the truck. They have not improved it or do not have any aftermarket parts to fix their poor design. Not to mention it took 3 weeks to get in because this part remains on back order. I had loved my other Ram trucks and was happy with this one before this problem occurred but I will never own another one and like I said I am only 32. I would urge anyone looking for a truck to choose another brand. I cringe when I see them saying longest lasting trucks on the road. Good luck and dont buy a junk Hemi. It is only as good as its parts.

My 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 has sat at the dealership for eight months now (since 5-10-2018). Not only was my claim within the 10 years and 100,000 miles, it could have caused a deadly accident. I just wanted the damage fixed. After eight months and the value dropping even further they completely denied the claim and would not even assist with some type of discount. My truck is inoperable and I paid $48,000 10 years ago. Now I am left with nothing and no recourse. If I have learned anything it is never buy from this company.

Diesel engine blown out at 65K. Bought the DODGE RAM 1500 brand new in 2016. Thought the Diesel engine would give us great long-term service - after all we have Dodge trucks as old as 2003 on the road for our contracting company. We do NOT do heavy loads nor towing, they are Quad cabs basically light hauling & crew taxi. Regular service and only 1 previous issue with mass air sensor $800 of that at dealership. The other morning, truck started normal, drive 5 miles to fuel up. Tried to start after fueling, big noise and that was it. Engine blown. Now waiting 6 days to see what they are going to do. 35,000 miles left on factory warranty and they are leaving us with no truck and guessing...

I own a 2014 Ram 3500 Cummins Turbo Diesel. I gave you my word it has 420.000 miles on it. Towed a 30.000 lb hot shot purchased brand new from Texas. Never stop running. Never put more than $700 for some maintenance. I was passing cars loaded at 85 mph! The Cummins engine are unbelievable strong and powerful. I am a truck driver. 48 years old. 1 million miles. Drove semis, Volvos, Freightliners. Def system complicates things specially in the winter, truck build a little flimsy but I was very lucky maybe. Cummins engine 385 hp. No words for it. Thanks Cummins Indiana! PS, obsessed with maintenance. This truck are for guys with some mechanical understanding. Love it!
