Ram Automobile Model 2022 Ram ProMaster City
2022 Ram ProMaster City
The 2022 Ram ProMaster City is a smaller cargo van designed for urban and commercial use. While it shares the ProMaster name with its larger sibling, it has its own set of features tailored to its smaller size and different use cases. Here are some typical features associated with the 2022 Ram ProMaster City:
Compact Size: The ProMaster City is smaller than the standard ProMaster, making it more maneuverable in tight city streets and parking spaces. This makes it ideal for urban delivery and service applications.
Cargo Capacity: Despite its smaller size, the ProMaster City still offers a significant amount of cargo space. It typically features a spacious cargo area with flat walls and low floor height for easy loading and maximizing cargo volume.
Customization Options: Like its larger counterpart, the ProMaster City offers various customization options to suit different business needs. This may include shelving, racks, partitions, and other accessories to organize and secure cargo.
Fuel Efficiency: With its smaller size and typically smaller engine options, the ProMaster City tends to be more fuel-efficient than its larger counterpart. This can help businesses save on operating costs, especially for frequent city driving.
Technology Features: While focused on utility, the ProMaster City may still offer some technology features for convenience and safety. This could include a touchscreen infotainment system, Bluetooth connectivity, and available driver assistance features such as rearview camera and parking sensors.
Easy Maneuverability: The ProMaster City is designed to be easy to drive and maneuver in urban environments. It typically features a tight turning radius and good visibility to help drivers navigate through traffic and tight spaces with confidence.
Durability: Like the standard ProMaster, the ProMaster City is built to withstand the demands of commercial use. It typically features a rugged construction and durable materials to handle daily wear and tear.
Safety Features: While specific safety features may vary depending on the trim level and options chosen, the ProMaster City typically comes equipped with standard safety features such as airbags, stability control, traction control, and antilock brakes to help keep drivers and passengers safe on the road.
As with any vehicle, it's essential to review the specific trim levels and options available for the 2022 Ram ProMaster City to determine which features best suit your business needs. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, it's recommended to consult the official Ram website or contact a local dealership.

I purchased my 2014 Ram Express 1500 quad cab 2WD exactly 1 year ago today. I had bad experience with the HERITAGE DODGE DEALERSHIP, Parkville, MD - MILEONE AUTO GROUP. My truck had a recall due to a software update (compass supposed to be moved from my Uconnect 5 to the D.I.C. screen) - that was 2 radios & 2 attempts to fix the problem, still no compass at all in truck. While truck was in shop, the express lane manager said they would do a tire rotation. Well I marked all tires, all they did was switch the 2 front tires to either side. But as the MANUAL STATES: IN ORDER TO DO A CORRECT TIRE ROTATION IS BACK TO FRONT, FRONT TO BACK - NOT RIGHT TIRE TO LEFT & VICE VERSA.The payload capacity of this 2WD 1500 is claimed to be 1900 lbs.+ in the bed of the truck. Now here is the kicker, I load my 2013 Yamaha Grizzly 700 in the bed & my bed squats down 5 (5 inches) - my Yamaha Grizzly only weighs 686 lbs. with fluids. Currently this $35k truck with only 12k miles & 1-year old KBB is $21k trade-in value. The design of the coil spring, rear springs is great when empty; handles nice & smooth. Add 200 lbs. & go over a speed bump carefully & you will feel the sag/plush/too soft springs bounce you 2-3 times. Add the 686 lbs. & gently go over same speed bump - bump stops, actually hit the axle. Now I have to go & purchase HD coil springs or purchase AIRLIFT ULTIMATE 5000 AIR BAGS SO I CAN NOT ONLY HAUL my 1 quad, but also my 10 x 6.5 open trailer with my wifes sportsman 500 HO Polaris too. For a truck (not really a truck, when you cant haul anything over 200 lbs.) its pretty quick. With the 5.7 Hemi, MPG is 20-23 MPG hwy.
Car stopped running at 65 miles an hour. Engine seized due to slushy oil from over heating. Called dodge since I read a lot of complaints of this on the internet. Nothing was done.
I purchased a Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab. And I love this truck. It rides smooth. This truck is great for on and off road. This truck gets up and goes no hesitation. But I would make the dodge level. I dont like the fact that the front of the truck is approx 2 inches lower than the back suspension. I also would maybe put a nicer rim on this vehicle. Also the steering box should be changed in this vehicle. They have been known to cause issues like the death wobble. The slider also needs to be reinforced and a sturdier lock should be used. But I love the body style and comfort of the interior. And the overall appearance and performance of this vehicle. I love the engine sizes you can choose for your lifestyle. Dodge is a very reliable truck. And I chose this vehicle due to reputation of Dodge Ram Tough. Ive never had any problems with it.
Ram 3500 diesel 2014 - 66k for the truck. 4 weeks in the shop to find out it has no power out of the hole. Strap a ratchet strap around the hitch and to a 4 inch tree truck wont do anything. Back over a 8x8 wood block truck wont do it. Pull my fifth wheel horse trailer 15k from a dead stop on a hill you will be backing down.....
I am reviewing this truck first of all because I had a total loss due to fire on a major highway in BC Canada. I had a temperature giving erratic readings prior to at about 99000 km just before drivetrain warranty was about to expire. I took the truck down to Kelowna Dodge and explained this along with other issue I was having with the truck and had all fluids changed. Paid for a diagnostic. Problem found to be a poor sensor so they replaced it but it was not covered under drivetrain warranty. Now Im out $500. I picked the truck up and it immediately had the same problem but no cooling issues.I blew a flex plate at 106000 km and it grenaded stuff near the torque converter and toasted my starter. 1.5 days later and $3500 the Abbotsford Dodge dealership. They noticed the sensor problem but said I should take it to the dealership that fixed it to begin with so as to make sure all in now covered under warranty seeing it was problematic before 100000 km. This dealership was great to deal with. I got the truck back into the Kelowna Dodge dealership and they now found it to be a water pump but covered this under warranty. This lasted one day and the same issue with the erratic coolant temperature problems. I talked to other mechanics and they all said its a head gasket and is a common problem. On the way back from the coast through the mountains the truck overheated and my temperature sensor bottomed out at 90 and stayed there and I pulled over immediately. Checked under the hood but kept everything running to allow the fans to cool things down. I called the service department again at Kelowna Dodge and asked them for their advice and they told me to limp it in if the engine is running good. Everything cooled down but the sensor was toast so I started to limp it back but its 200km through the mountains. No problems with the engine. On a big climb with everything sounding fine and taking my time the truck has smoke coming from underneath the hood on passenger side. As a result even with the attempt of a fire extinguisher we could not put it out and it burnt to the ground.I called the dealership about any recourse knowing this should have been solved and was a direct result of their own misdiagnosis and they said the only recourse is insurance however the loss of my vehicle I use for work is now gone. Essentially too bad so sad. They said Ram wont cover the resultant issue of a truck loss from a cooling problem even though under warranty. This directly affects my insurance and Dodge Ram should cover this and get me a new vehicle. If you plan to use these trucks for serious hauling I would not recommend Kelowna Dodge for service nor purchasing the Ram 3500 dually truck for commercial hauling use via reliability problems.
Bought an 05 Ram 1500 Daytona new in 05. Spent months in shop trying to fix pulling issues and loud pop in front suspension after being just weeks old. Final fixed. Now in 2015 I have had 4 sets of sway bar end links installed, new ball joints, control arm parts, tie rod ends, etc. THE TRUCK HAS ONLY 47,000 miles, the entire front suspension was shot at 38,000 miles. This is a 2-wheel drive, never wrecked, well-cared for California truck. Dodge claims no recalls of problem on this model or year. Dodge seems to play dumb on issues that have been present since purchase. Now for the 2015 (wife insisted on another Dodge) this is a very expensive fully loaded 4x4. All the bells and whistles (her truck) bought on a Friday. On Sunday noticed a 3x1 section of paint on door edge peeling. Returned to dealer and was told I had damaged the paint. Spent months working with Dodge corp. trying to get fixed. Finally after being told they would not fix because they deemed it damage not defect I ended up paying $1,100 to have repaired at an auto body shop who took pics, wrote statement that its a defect, sent all to Dodge and was denied again. DODGE WARRANTY IS A JOKE. We will never buy a Chrysler product again.
2012 dodge ram 1500 - I have been having issues with the vehicle jerking while Im stopped. Took it to dealer and they said it did it, but they cant find the problem. Then the suspension creaks when going over a bump, replace shock and sway bars. Taking back in tomorrow to get it figured out for the 6th time!
I bought a 2006 Ram 2500 Quad Cab 4x4 with the Hemi in December 2005. I loved the truck for its looks, comfort, power and performance. I do not work the truck, except to plow my own 500 ft. driveway and to tow a 10 ft. enclosed motorcycle trailer to trade shows about 9 times a year, all under 200 miles each way. Other than that, it is used to commute to my shop, or for enjoyment, hunting etc. All was pretty good with it for the first 18K miles. Then the rear end went, with a bang. It went again about 20K later. The fuel pump, 5 injectors, 4 coils, all spark plug wires, intake manifold gaskets, and the catalytic converter went bad. Two O2 sensors, the headlight dimmer switch, the ignition switch and the body control computer failed. Both upper and lower ball joints on both sides had to be replaced along with the tie rod ends. Both right and left front axle u-joints failed along with the front drive shaft u-joints. The rear drive shaft u-joints failed.... 4 times EACH. The tail light electrical harness failed. The hood latch broke twice. The tailgate latch failed after 150 miles, causing the gate to fall open and dent itself on the trailer we were hauling. The e-brake failed. All four rotors rotted away, and 2 calipers failed. The front axle bearings failed. The bolts holding the left exhaust manifold rotted away, TWICE. The right hand manifold bolts failed once. The left side headlight harness failed. The catalytic converter failed again. The transmission shift control malfunctioned. The muffler rotted out. The tailpipe fell off. The oil pan rusted through. The air conditioning blender doors broke twice..... $1000 each time. The serpentine belt tensioner fell off. The anti-lock brake controller failed. The left side of the pickup box rusted through above the wheel well. The sliding rear window leaked from day one. The headlight switch broke. The body control computer failed a second time. The check engine light came on for a total of at LEAST 40 times, and was checked, reset, fixes made and turned off each time. AND, that was only after I only started counting after the first year. AND, all of this took place in 62,000 miles. The truck cost me $8500 out of pocket for the last year I owned it. After 62K miles, I FINALLY got rid of it. And, I am NOT hard on my truck. I have another vehicle for work. THIS one was for pleasure. It received proper maintenance and service, and still was a POS. NEVER buying Dodge again, and this was the fourth I had........ NEVER again.
I own 2 - 2015 Dodge Rams and 1 - 2016 Dodge Ram. 2 are 3500s. ALL 3 have premature front end tire wearing. Im talking less than 20k miles. On top of it all, the local dealership I purchased from said they dont know how to rotate the tires on the 3500s. Im at a loss that a service department can be so stupid!!! Plus, I get blue puffs out of exhaust with the 3500s when they start each morning. Also, the one 3500 has serious shifting issues. Trucks have been in 3 times each. Each time its been an absolute cluster and I have to physically remove my husband from the property or he was gonna lose it on these people. My father is the Fleet Manager at the dealership so I have to handle myself in a dignified manner but the dealership is blowing smoke up my skirt. I finally sent an email to corporate and NOW they sent a big wig down here and they are going to assess it. We all know how thats gonna turn out. Bottom line, no vehicle should have worn tires before 20k miles - ON ALL 3!!! Anyone else having this issue?
My 2012 Ram 1500 is better than advertised. It has been 6 years of trouble free ownership. Can be a great daily driver and work truck. Comfortable for long trips and plenty of power for towing. It does it all well.
2012 ram 1500 crew cab - Fantastic truck. I have owned F-150, Silverado, Tundra, Tacoma and GMC. Amazing gas mileage for a big truck, 17-18 around town and 22-24 hwy. Zero problems, 40,000 miles on original tires, great highway cruiser on long trips. Great stereo. Good in snow, rain. Pulls trailers like they are not there.
I purchased a new 2013 Ram 3500 Dually Longhorn. I currently have 83,000 miles on the truck. I have towed my 21000LB 5th wheel camper 17,000 miles. I am very impressed with the quality and the capabilities of this truck, I have had two issues with the truck thus far, a def injection/DPF exhaust part failure, and, a seized water pump. Both times the dealer service was quite good. I would buy another one. I just sold my 2001 Ram Cummins 2500 with 307,000 miles. It was an excellent truck. I replaced it with a 2017 Ram 1500 Longhorn. I hope it does as well. So far so good, I love the Ram boxes and the cargo management system.
Purchased a 2011 dodge 1500 4x4 Laramie 5.7 Hemi new in April 2011. Get in truck just seven months later and it will not drive. No gear action. Had it towed to the dealership and day one, the tech says he doesnt know the problem. Day two, doesnt know; day three, ask me why the transmission fluid looks new. Heck, I dont know, you tell me. Day four, informs me that its the transmission pump. Its shot. In seven months? Ive been seeing a lot of transmission complaints about dodges. Makes one wonder.
We had no problems with our 2015 Dodge ECO DIESEL 1500 Longhorn truck, excellent fuel mileage, everything worked perfect, then when driving on the toll road at 60 mph truck was getting 32 mpg mileage 33,134 and we are not towing anything our ENGINE BLOWS, we had it towed to the nearest Dodge dealer, after removing the engine pan full of metal parts, Dodge would cover it under warranty. We traded it in on a Dodge 5.7 V/8 not happy with fuel mileage. However we feel we can trust this engine to last at least 65,000 miles.
I have a 2008 3500 dually. I had bought the vehicle new. The dealership where I had purchased it from is 65 West of St. Louis, MO. When I purchased it, they had a special for free oil changes. So, the dealer had done all the oil changes on this truck until it hit 50,000 miles. There is a sticker on the support beam by the radiator that states that the front drive shaft should be lubed at each oil change. There is also a note in the owners manual that states that the drive shaft should be lubed. There is no zert fitting for the drive shaft and Dodge claims that it should be there, but they will not do anything about it. Dodge has taken the attitude of too bad, so sad.I had started to hear a metal grinding noise coming from the front end of the truck. I took it in to the dealership and they told me that the ball joints were bad. Lucky I had purchased the extended warranty. The warranty company did pay to have it replaced but the tech failed to drive it or check the wheel bearing. So now I have to take it back to the dealer and in hopes that the warranty company will honor it. The vehicle now has over 100,000 miles on it. I bought it only because of it having a Cummins engine.
I bought this Dodge ram 1500 2014 new and drove it for less than two years before the bumper started rusting, but because I put so many miles on it (40,000) it was not covered under the warranty. The tires needed replacing at around 25,000 miles. Had to replace an airbag sensor for over $500. Had to replace the fuel gauge sensor that is located in the fuel pump in the gas tank, that cost around $350. Had to take it in and have exhaust manifold bolts replace but that was covered under the 100,000 mile manufacturer warranty. They also replaced the right front axle because that was loose with play. Also covered under the warranty luckily. I have it in the shop right now and they believe the camshaft is bad which is covered under the 100,000 mile warranty also. The truck has 92000 miles on it and is 3 years old this month. I have decided I will sell it before it turns 100,000 miles and buy maybe a Tundra or a Chevy but certainly not another Dodge. This was my second and I love my first one but this one drove me over the edge. I will also look for a dealer who seems concerned with my wants and needs. I do have to say I love the look of the Dodge truck. Mine is dark graphite gray with custom rims and its beautiful but I should have purchased stock in their check engine light because it never turns off.
So I bought a 2013 Ram 1500 last Sept. Its been a year now and I have had nothing but problems. After only owning it a week, it had an air leak in the cab. Next the cruise didnt work properly. Took them 2 visits to the shop to get the leak fixed - cruise to this day still wont work properly. Then it had trouble starting - took it in. Now they tell me it needs new fuel injectors. Took them 4 months to finally get them installed. Only because I called and called! Then my sat. radio stopped working and a few days later my radio just keeps turning on and off!! Also randomly my wipers stopped working. The paint is cracked on 2 spots - whats next? I bought this because Im just starting out a new family and thought by getting new, I could count on no problems. What do I do next... Really want to get out of this truck and into something else!
I have a 2019 Dodge Ram 3500 for 5 months now. I also use my truck for work and had a incident in Pennsylvania. I was told parts will be in 2-3 business days! Then 5 days later I was told parts are on back order up to January. I cannot work due to no parts to replace...Brand New Truck and no parts for it!! Also, I have a Case Manager and she said she has a Expedited Team looking into it. Now, it has been 13 days and still need the same 3 parts. There is no guarantee on any parts. Ive asked for a replacement truck and still no answer!!!! But I cannot make a vehicle payment now due to no replacement parts or vehicle for work.. Next it will be I Cant Pay My Bills.. They still expect me to make a car payment though... This is not good customer service!
I purchased my 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 truck in 2013 and initially didnt have any issues. The first issue happened in June of this year. After having towed nothing the first 2 years, I purchased a 44 RV. After the second tow, a trip to Louisiana, the engine began to bog down on me and lose power. I took it in to the dealer to get it checked out and they hit me with a $2,000 estimate for repairs. Said the EGR valve was bad ($799 for part) and needed to be replaced. They also said a front ABS wheel sensor was bad and needed to be replaced as well. Guess what, my warranty didnt cover one cent of the repairs. They said this wasnt covered in the warranty. Go Figure! Well now I have a bad taste in my mouth for having to dish out so much money. Ive always wanted to own a dually and found that the Dodge was more affordable to me. Anyway, I chalked it up as a loss and moved on. That is, until now that I have gotten a Perform Service Soon light on my dash. After consulting my owners manual, it says I need to take it in to get emissions maintenance performed. Emissions/EGR Valve....Do you see where Im going with this? So I call the dealer and ask for cost. For starters, it will cost me $110/hr. to just check out the problem. Ive owned several Nissan vehicles and let me tell you, it never costs me a cent for them to troubleshoot any problems that I have. Also, I have never paid over $200 for any issue with them. They cover almost everything and better yet their vehicles rarely break down. At least the ones I have owned havent, thanks to God! Anyway, I think I am about to trade my Dodge in for a Chevy or Ford. I wont be able to afford paying Dodge for all the high repair costs and maintain payments at the same time. I really wish Nissan would come out with a ton pick up!!
The transmission shifted into 4th gear and would not shift from there into a lower or higher gear. The truck (2011 Dodge Ram 1500) has 79,000 miles on it. You could still shift it into reverse, but to go forward it was stuck in 4th gear. The truck is still at the dealer. They have told us we would have to pay for the controller they replaced even though this has not fixed the problem. They are now working on the internal parts of the transmission.
I have purchased 3 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel trucks in the past 5 years, and I have had issues with all 3. The latest being today. #1 18DOD: Diesel driveability. Cust states vehicle wont start. NO CRANK CHK AND REPORT. Work performed by TYLER **. Installed 68089322AG: MODULE: Totally Integrated P [email protected]. Hazardous Materials Charge. No start. No crank. Loss of communication with TIPM Module. Removed and installed new TIPM Module. Reconfigured TIPM Module. Vehicle now starts and runs. The car was parked in the parking lot of my office for 8 hours and would not start, not even a sign of life when I put the key in it. They told me at the dealership the module problem was most likely from overheating. The truck was sitting in a parking lot. I dont think RAM gives a ** about me or the parts they use to make a vehicle for the public, however I do know this. I WILL NEVER BUY A DODGE RAM VEHICLE.
I was driving my 2013 Ram 2500 with under 10,000 miles and it shut down to what seemed like one cylinder running, with an awful knocking noise. Was towed to the dealer. Ended up having a broken valve spring, 2 bent pushrods, and 2 lifters had to be changed. Rather than change the engine, they said there was no internal engine damage and would fix it. With the noise it made Im shocked theres no other internal damage. They fixed it and sent me on my way.A month later I change the oil and it was full of metal flakes. I guess when they diagnose for internal damage they do not look at the oil. I cant understand that. I called about the issue and they said I should not be doing my own maintenance and theres no proof that there was any metal in the oil because I changed it. How else would I have found this out? They have no idea where the metal could have came from but theres enough to make golf ball sized ball. Told me I was covered by the engine warranty and they would do nothing further to the truck and still deny theres internal engine damage. So I will continue to drive it circulating metal. They didnt even want it back to flush it out.A month later the check engine light is on so I have the code read with a reader at Auto Zone. Theres something wrong with the oil pump. Instead of replacing the engine they are going to keep making me bring it back, an hour away, to keep repairing it until the warranty is over. This engine should have been replaced, not band-aided. My $46,000 truck has rebuilt engine, more internal damage that they will not acknowledge, and only has 11,000 miles on it. Chrysler does not stand by their products and has no interest in making it right. Just wanted to warn others about what happens with Chrysler products when theres an issue.
I have a 2014 Dodge Lone Star I bought in March. I was trying Dodge for the first time in my life and I will never do that again. I have about 9000 miles on my truck all highway miles but it all started at like mile 5000 something. I have been to dealership three times, left it there twice and it still isnt fixed. They explain that it cant be fixed because where the dealership is located at the speed limit is lower and by policy they cant exceed it. But to really feel the fault you need to go by the speed limit up the highway and they tell me to go to a dealership closer to that speed limit.I will never go back to that dealership or service department. They state they will call and never do. While my truck was there if I didnt call to check on it they never would have told me nothing. They should not be in business.
I been trying to have my Dodge Ram Truck 2012 fixed since earlier this year. Each time I bring the Ram to shop I been told it cannot be repaired because the part for the recall is not available. Each time I call a case is open up and a few days or weeks later the case is closed for one or another reason. The last case was open on 11/9 and I was instructed to bring the Ram to the shop. My son went to the local Dodge Country Dealer, and was told the part is not available till Feb. 2019 and there is nothing they can do. Meanwhile the Ram make a terrible noise after the gear jumps out on low speed, intersections or red lights and no one will touch it to see what the problem is because of the recall.Mrs. **, a manager, called and stated after her research between the Dodge Dealer and the Parts Department at Dodge, that recall part is only shipped out in a number of 5 and only every 7 days. We are on the list at the Dodge Country dealership but this does not help much because even that Dodge Dealer states there so many trucks and not enough parts. This is not acceptable and I request that something is done. I have a 2012 Dodge Ram Truck with a bit over 63000 miles and I am barely driving it because of the concern to cause more damage to the transmission. It seems that Dodge customer service does and cannot assist with this issue. I send letters, called, posted on the Dodge website and all I get is: Sorry there is nothing we can do back because Mopar Parts does not ship more than 5 parts at the time.
My experience terrible. Brought my new 2017 Ram 1500 in for wind noise issue coming in the doors. First dealer said it was my vent visors, still the same after they were removed. They had the truck for 5 days, said it was fixed and ready for pick up. So I took truck for ride, same issue as when it went in. Then the manager said he brought three trucks out and they all have the same wind noise. I told him then they should tell the buyer before they spend 60.000 for a truck that theyre buying a truck that is not very well sealed. Not impressed because I just traded in my 2013 with no wind noise whatsoever with 160.000 kms on it. Nobody wants to help. RAM JUNK, POOR QUALITY VEHICLE. Bumper to bumper warranty ya right. They write reviews that they are as quiet as a luxury car. Thats false advertisement.
2014 RAM TRUCK 15000 miles. Pushing two years old. Day one -- starts great, runs about 2 minutes, dies. This occurred for about 3 months, back to back repairs, had to use roadside service. Finally cured that. Next problem to this exact date, almost a year later, and still no fix! Airbag light on right NOW! Dealership has TRIED numerous repairs and fixes, NO LUCK! Many trips back and forth to dealership, (8 repair orders) STILL ON RIGHT NOW! NOT FIXED! 4 attempts or cases with their STAR TEAM. Whatever that is? They suck! Chrysler Resolution team has tried and I said tried to resolve, offered me $$$ and wipe out past history, extended warranties, I said take that and stick it up your??? REALLY, I JUST WANT AIRBAG FIXED not cover it up and think Im desperate for money. Guess what? Im not! Now have retained a Lemon Law attorney to maybe help. Its been many months and Chrysler tells him no refund or replace. Then Chrysler attorneys tried to offer me $2000 and think I would be happy and say sure. Then again I told my attorney to tell them to stick that up their **! Do they think Im that easy or stupid! Plain and simple and you will understand when I tell you this -- its my life youre messing with daily, 50/50 chance it might or might not work, Russian Roulette every time I sit behind the wheel and drive. THEY DONT CARE! I guess since they are a multi-billion dollar corporation they dont give a ** about lives, their product or name. In May my engine light came on. Now in November after 12k miles and 25 actual documented trips to service we still have same issue with Def system problems. Dealership, dodge and Cummings are all involved. Its going in again next week to install a device to monitor the truck from another location as well as a new pump and another sensor that has been replace multiple time. This is my everyday driver and being without a truck like this is not useful. In the 25 times I have been given a car once (had to be jumped 1/2 mile away to get back home) and a 1/2 ton old Chevy truck 3 times. Chrysler has given me a case manager and somehow my case was closed last week, I call inquiring why and they couldnt tell me but started a new one. Anyone else suspicious? 5 times so far the computer has threatened to shut down in 200 miles and instructs getting to dealership. So next week is 26 times in the shop since May with my everyday 5500 work truck with a dump landscape box, tool boxes, snow plow and computer stand installed in truck. I wish I could take away everyone elses computer until this truck is fixed.
2012 Ram ST 4x4 Hemi: Love this truck. All I hear is in 2.5 million trucks sold over past 5 years is a few problems from people who bought used trucks. Yes I had things fixed under warranty. This truck drives great and has excellent power. I feel your pain. I drive in 4wd all the time. Long road trips are a delight. 125k miles now. Bottom line the trucks are not made to last forever. Dont beat them up... too much.
I have a 14 Ram 3500 driving out of town. My water pump came apart and put the fan into the radiator. Ok no big worries stuff happens. Called roadside assistance, they were very helpful. The problem was when I actually got to the dealership. Service advisor told me that they couldnt even look at it for three days. I asked about a rental, and they told me that I would have to pay out of pocket until they could look at it to determine if it was covered under warranty. I explained my situation on how I was stranded three hours from home. The service advisor was incredibly rude didnt even want to let someone spend 10 min to authorize a rental. So now I am out a hotel room and fuel for my wife to make a 440 round trip to come pick me up and another 440 miles to go get it whenever they get around to it. I understand they have their scheduled vehicles but I think a little consideration should be given for situations like mine when people are stranded away from home.
2009 Dodge Ram 3500 Dually: Front axle u-joints went out at 46000 miles. The vehicle is for highway use only, and its well-maintained. I believed this should not have been replaced until 100,000 miles. I have bought 5 new pick-ups in the last 10 years and will now start looking at other companies for a new pick-up due to this not being covered by Dodge. People at the dealership did not care.
The truck will not properly shift to 6th gear. Upon a visit to dealer, I was told it was ok, but there was no change in its performance. Then a second trip was made to the dealer who again said that there was no problem. I then found a different dealer and was again told transmission was ok. It was not, so I returned to first dealer and had transmission mechanic take ride with me. He saw problem but did not know how to repair it. He told me he would contact Detroit. That was March 06, 2015. I feel as if Im being blown off. The problem is real and must be addressed in an honest way.
The first vehicle was a 2014 Ram 3500 crew cab; had an electrical issue. First time in shop, had only 325 miles. After 4 attempts to fix problem, had to get an attorney. Bought the vehicle in February. Chrysler paid it off July the 7th. Bought a Ram 2500 crew cab on June 28th. In shop on July 9th, with 350 miles; transmission went out. Ill tell you something: All dealerships are the same after; they could care Less!! Bought my first one from Haddad Dodge in Bakersfield and my second one from Hunter Dodge in Lancaster. Both new trucks, neither one made it to 400 miles before they went into the shop. Shouldve kept my Ford Power stroke, was an awesome truck. Ram seems to have dropped its quality control to meet its high demand.
I have 2007 Quad Cab 5.7, never off a paved road, mostly highway driven. I have had to have 4 sets of struts replaced because they leak. Truck has 32k miles on it.
All the bolts on my clutch fan fell out of my less than year old truck while I was driving 110 on the Hwy. I just managed to pull my truck off the road safely because I did not have power steering after this happened. Then I was told that none of the 2800 in damage that this caused would be covered because I was 8000 km over my warranty. This should never happen in a lifetime of a truck let alone after a year.
Comfortable to ride no matter how far. Feels safe and solid. Toss anything we would like. Seems to be made very well. Looks good and when purchased had no rust like comparable Fords. The fords all had rust on frame and the Ram didnt. Overall better quality with the ram than with other brands drove. Seems more solid than the others.
Truck bought used with very low miles same year of model. Truck maintained, waxed, etc. Paint has totally come off, rust and mold began to form. Dodge says nothing wrong...sure!!! History has shown Dodge trucks do not hold paint and you will need a paint job eventually.
I have a 1998 Dodge Ram. Rear ended a vehicle. Air bag did not deploy. My mechanic has a 1999 Dodge ram just like mine. Front frame bent from rear ending Another vehicle. Totaled truck. No air bag deployment also. Thats what got me to wondering if faulty system. I have back pain from accident but cant do anything about it for I only had basic coverage and no personal insurance. Can I get help?
The vehicle has had vibration in the front end. Since purchase I had to replace the ball joints at 38,000 miles. Front end tire wear has forced premature purchase of tires. Def fuel problems have delayed travel plans twice. From my research I believe the front end issues should be a recall item. I have had the truck in service now 20 times and now have a CAR FAX history that is affecting the sale of the vehicle.
Bought my RAM December 2013. First week had water on floors, leak. Bertarra ignored me, said it was winter. Started going to another dealership. They found third brake light leaking. At 30000 miles needed front brakes, still had over half of original pad left. Chrysler corp would not cover premature wear. Now 2000 miles later same problem. Very unhappy with truck. I go out of my way to tell even strangers about my experience. These are not the only issues either... Hemi is week, truck shifts constantly, when in four cylinder mode the truck shudders, wont hold a gear on hills, very poor quality interior... I could go on.
I purchased my 2015 Dodge Ram Eco Diesel from a custom build on Dodge website. To date my truck has been in the service shop in excess of over a 100 days. In fact it had to be towed on Thursday due to another problem. Dodge or should I say Chrysler Canada has been zero help. Getting a case manager from Dodge is a complete waste of time. Do NOT buy a Dodge. I rely on my trucks for work as I am in construction - the most unreliable vehicle ever - the service departments are equally terrible especially Harris Dodge. Always multiple visits and they never seem to fix the problems. I am by no means exaggerating by anything other than a Dodge!!!
Took my 2012 ram 3500 Dually in for service.. Repair front hubs, bearings, front steering stabilizer, and 4-wheel drive transfer case, alignment... Also to fix the warning lights that keep coming on (Service 4-wheel drive, ABS light and brake light).. Ok so got all this done at Arrigo Dodge in West Palm Beach.. They had the truck for 12 days... Got it back and transfer case making a binding noise, lights are still on, and front end now pulls to the right... Take it back to them and they have it another week.. Pick it up and the lights come on again.. Ok so now I tell the service guy I need to drive to Colorado 1800 miles. Is the truck safe? He said Yes dont worry about the warning lights. Just have it looked at when you get there. If they stay on... Well Im not a mechanic so I drive it there not realizing that the ABS brakes dont work when those lights are on.. And Im pulling a 24-ft trailer... So I get to Florida take it to the Dodge dealer to get it checked out. The dealer checked out the truck... Come to find out the alignment was done wrong which wore the 2 front tires to the core and they put the wrong chain in the transfer case and used the wrong sealant in the transfer case.. The Dodge dealer in FL was contacted by the Dodge dealer in Colorado and this was brought to their attention. And the spec sheets and repair diagnostic was given to the dealer who incorrectly did the work the first time (Arrigo Dodge WPB). The Colorado Dodge dealer said that the dealer who fixed the truck originally should pay for the repairs.. I contacted them several times even speaking to the owner of the Dodge dealer, getting nowhere.. Now Im out 1500 dollars and that is not right.. Let alone I put my family in danger since the Colorado Dodge dealer said there could have been a bad accident due to the repairs.. I think that the original dealer should be liable for the repairs cost... Thats why we take our truck to the dealership to get worked on by certified mechanic.. To be safe and right... Again Im not a mechanic... Thank God nobody got serious hurt on the road... That would be a law suit waiting to happen...
We had our 2004 Dodge Ram 4x4 catch fire after sitting next to our house for 24 hrs. It was a cold motor, burned the cab, totaled out by the insurance. We were very fortunate that our house didnt catch fire. It only had 93,000 miles on it. We took real good care of it. I feel that Dodge needs to start recalling on these trucks for their fuse boxes shorting out.
Bought my Laramie in April 2014. Always was a Ford man - decided to try the Cummins. Bought brand new and wow this is the biggest letdown of my life. Since the second week of buying both front seats came apart at the fasteners and as of 8/21/14 I am waiting for the okay to replace them from Chrysler. The fourth week came around with a check engine light on so with broken seats that ripped my wifes dress I took it to the dealer. They said they cant figure out the code it produced so they just reset it. Two weeks later it was on again along with def service at dealer also tire pressure monitor system failed and the data radio has lost all presets and cuts in and out. Took to another dealer and they said theyre ordering parts and the radio had a recall. One month later came out from work to drive the two hour ride home from work - truck wont start, had to wait for tow truck. Now I am at a third dealership with my 68 thousand dollar truck chained down to a tow truck and I repeat the process of explaining the broken seats check engine light def service light tire monitoring needs service radio data system is still broke after the first recall etc. They call me a week later saying it is all fixed...I drove the two hours back making my wife miss work because they wont issue a truck to borrow while yours is getting fixed. Show up and nothing is fixed but they ordered all the parts. The truck starts though but still has broken seats def service by dealer tire pressure monitoring service are all still there. They ordered parts and will call. They told me it was a loose battery connection. I laughed cause that was my first thought as I checked it being I am a local 12 heavy equipment mechanic for the last 18 years and had my service truck right there. They lie cause I was fed up and got the Chrysler resolution team involved, the day I was stranded two hours away from home not returning to my house until 2am 11 hours after my truck wouldnt start and my wife got off work and picked me up. I have owned the truck 7 months and have been to the dealer 7 times - nothing has been fixed, just ordered with no call backs. After this month Im giving it back to the bank and will have a repossession all because Chrysler fiat ram cares nothing about customer service or their disgusting product. To all my union brothers, dont buy a ram or dodge - it will be a disaster you wont ever recover from. Stick with the Rord super duty or Chevrolet, they wont leave you and yours helplessly stranded lost and confused in the dark.
We have 2 such pickups at this household and have exact same complaints. We paid over $1100.00 for a GPS/Uconnect system in these vehicles both of which are almost totally worthless. Both of these vehicles are equipped to tow Trailers and both are used to tow Rv Travel Trailers. This crappy GPS sends you on wild goose chases, back roads etc. Its not designed to be used in a tow vehicle at all but there it is and no one wants to step up to the plate and make even a small effort to fix the situation. The dealer says its a product installed at the factory which is not made by Chrysler. I say Chrysler installed it. Its their responsibility to stand behind it and make it work as its advertised to do.I recently went to Canada and it actually showed me driving through fields where no roads exist and the Rt 1 highway I was on has been there over 7 years. Driving south through Maine on Interstate 95, my destination was KOA Campground in Freeport. It told me to exit 95 43 miles before the campground which I done towing a 30-foot trailer. It then proceeded to take me on 5 different country 2 lane roads only to cross 95 two exits below where it told me to exit.Next issue, WiFi. A monthly fee of 34.99 is supposed to give WiFi service up to 150 feet from vehicle. Well that 150 feet is more truthfully 20 feet MAX and the service is so slow. The accessory timer built in the RAM (15 to 20) Minutes shuts power off before you can get connected to a website. This family actually likes both of these vehicles but the High Dollar accessories suck. We will not be buying another RAM Product Simply because of service from Chrysler sucks. The Dealer has tried a lot of things to help but I see it as their hands are tied from no support as Paul Harvey said, PAGE 2.
I bought a new Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 on 03/26/2012. The warranty has run out. The truck currently has about 60k + miles on it. The truck started making a whining noise from the rear end. I brought it to my local Dodge dealer to get it looked at. Turns out its the rear end pinion bearing that went bad. The mechanic told me that I might be in luck and that there might be a recall on this rear end. He did some research and found out my VIN number did not match the recall. The repair that the recall calls for is the same repair they did on my truck. The pinion bearing they took out of the truck was trashed due to lack of proper lubrication, the reason for the recall. I called the RAM customer assistance office and received no assistance with this repair. This lack of lubrication condition could cause the pinion bearing to seize and cause a loss of vehicle control and or cause a crash without warning. The last sentence was pulled directly from the recall advisory that for some reason does not include my truck yet the problem I had is just like the recall. RAM really needs to get this checked out before someone is injured. If you own a 2012 Ram 1500 get it checked out. Safety Recall K36.
I purchased a new Dodge Ram 4500. I have had it just under 1 year and it has 53000 miles on it. I have had it in the shop SIX times now!!! And they wont do anything about it! I have lost customers and a lot of money Because of this truck! I dont recommend anyone to buy a Dodge Ram! This is by far the worst truck I have ever owned! And Dodge doesnt care. They DONT stand behind their products. I have contacted them personally to give them a chance to make this right. Now that they have said they did their part by changing more parts again and have said that they dont know if thats what is wrong with it. I am supposed to rely on it. They have left me no choice but to turn this into my attorney!! SO DONT MAKE THIS MISTAKE AND DONT BUY A DODGE RAM TRUCK!!!
This past Sunday my wife was sitting in the passenger seat. The seat belt locked and she could not get out. I had to use scissors to cut the seatbelt and Dodge is telling me its going to cost me 7:50 to $800 to get this repaired. This is a safety issue that should be looked into because if I would have had it been in a wreck and somebody was in the passenger seat and could not get out due to the failure of the release button would be talking a whole different story. I think that Dodge needs to replace this instead of me having to any suggestions.
I own a 1500 Ram Big Horn which was purchased new from Five Star Dodge Warner Robins. When I purchased the Ram I was told I was entitled to oil changes from Ram and 1 oil change from the dealership. Due to the low mileage on this vehicle I didnt need the service frequently and wasnt told by the dealership that there was a time limit in which this had to be done. Unfortunately on 7-5-18 I had service done which would have been the fourth oil service on the Ram Truck and was charged $36.13. I called consumer affairs and was told that service agreement wouldnt be honored due to the length of time and again I stated that the dealership made no statement when purchasing the Ram Truck about a time limit to the service agreement. I also purchase a 2016 Ram Truck Big Horn 4x4 from the same dealership which more mileage was put on this vehicle due to it involved being destine as a work vehicle and all oil changes were honored. I usually buy/purchase vehicle every 4 years and have considered buying another Ram Big Horn but feel that if I am going to be penalized for not driving and taking care of my purchase and the Ram company isnt going to honor an agreement due to time then I should seek other types of truck makers. I regret that for $36.13 that a company like Ram would want to lose a valued customer. This can be easily resolved by honoring an oil change at one of your facilities with a coupon. Please understand I feel at this time that if Ram will not honor this then will Ram honor their other warranties/services. Thank you and hope to be able to continue to do business in the near future.
Failed to repair my 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 on more than two occasions. The truck has caused me more grief than ever;I have been a loyal Dodge owner for over 10 years.
The newer trucks are made very cheaply you end up with lots of problems unless you get an extended warranty when you first purchase a vehicle. A ton of recalls. Overall my Dodge Ram is not equipped to handle a great deal of payload compared to other pickup truck. In order to get this repaired it takes a lot of money and its very difficult to get anyone to work on them unless its the dealership and theyre very expensive. A change of oil on this pickup truck cost you $56 at a dealership and thats in Sumter South Carolina versus $26 for a Chevy truck and $32 for a Ford.
I purchased a brand new 1500 quad cab with 3 miles on it. Now the truck has 329 miles and the radio has stopped working. I either get a blue screen, black screen, no backup camera, etc. I take it to the dealer and am immediately told they cant have anyone look at it because they are too busy. I refuse to accept that answer and seek out a manager. The manager, not happy I have disturbed his coffee break, comes out and confirms my problem. Then says come back and we will take care of it on your next oil change. What? You want me to wait several thousand miles, I dont think so. I have now escalated this to the owner and am awaiting a response. I will follow up.
I have a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500, which I purchased in November 2010. I purchased it because my 2009 had a gasoline leak, which my mechanic found. When I took it in, I also took it in for AC/HACV recall. They refused to allow me to leave with my truck. They said it was too dangerous, and they had no loaner. Now I own a 2006 Dodge Diesel, and this 2010, plus I have had nothing but Dodge products for the past 14 years. So when they refused my request, I asked them what I was supposed to do to get home and that my job required that I am on call as the Crisis Center Director 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; and my husband is the EMS Director for Atascosa County and he is also on call 24/7. Neither of us could be without a vehicle. Also note I was 32 miles from home. When nothing else could be done, I was told I could trade my 2009 for a 2010. So I did, because I needed a vehicle immediately. I lost the lifetime warranty on the 2009 Dodge. By the way, I am also a senior citizen aged 65. When I took the 2010 in for the recall last week, I asked about the plastic discoloration on my truck handles. The truck is a beautiful red, pretty and shiny; but the handles make it look bad. I have not damaged them in any way. I was told thats just how it was and they could do nothing. I want you to know that the quality of this trucks plastic is horrible both inside and out. When I trade again, should I have to, Im sure they will lower the trade-in price because of the handles and plastic; and that is not my fault. I believe you care about what people think, so Ive taken the time to write and inform you of this issue.I have always used this dealership and salesman for years, but Im very disappointed in your product. Too bad, you dont care enough to make sure your dealerships show the same respect to people.
We bought a Ram truck, it is the nicest vehicle we have ever owned. My husband drives it as his main vehicle, but I do drive it too. We have not had any problems with this vehicle, and it is a 2016. But we wish it got better gas mileage, but thats a dream. I do think it cost too much, it was more than our first house. That was a hard pill to swallow. I dont like black interior, this truck has cream colored seats and brown trim, it is beautiful. My husband keeps it washed and vacuumed every week.
Took my 2013 Ram 2500 Cummins to the shop with an EGR system leaking carbon monoxide into the cab giving me a headache plus it was making a knocking noise in the engine compartment and the A/C making a knocking noise. Anyways took it to the dealership to fix the issues and only one thing gets fixed out of 3 times. Ive taken it to the shop. They fixed the EGR and said they didnt know what the knocking in the engine was... But it was noted in the system well about a week later the batteries wont hold a charge and I have to jump it off if I want to drive it. All in all Im pissed the ** in Tyler hasnt helped me with anything. Im angry and want a lawyer who can get my hard earned money back!!
Warranty Service: My 2011 Dodge Truck (VIN **) was taken to Crown Dodge, initially, for a shimmy at 70MPH (on cruise control). The problem was noticed when I decreased my average speed from 75MPH to 70MPH to save gas. The problem exists when ascending/descending long hill. The truck was taken to Crown Dodge 4 times; each time, something was done to correct the fault. However, after being told it was fixed, I drove it home on the I-44 turnpike, and the situation each time was the same. The final analysis was that it is the nature of the beast - that engine has such torque. A local independent repair facility assured me it was not the U-Joints. I took the truck to Central Oklahoma Dodge yesterday and gave the information above. Today, they tell me (Mark) that they cannot duplicate the problem. He (Mark) is going to take the truck on the freeway tomorrow to try to duplicate the problem. My question is, what if he duplicates the problem? Then what? If it is the nature of the beast, nothing can be done. I am unable/unwilling to drive a vehicle with a known problem. I converted to Dodge from Chevy/Ford at the suggestion of my close friend. This is my second Dodge. Please advise soonest. (I am unable to talk on the phone due to Cochlear implant. If you need me to call you, I have to use my CapTel phone.) Thank you.
I Love my truck from inside out, if Ive ever had a problem they were right on it. Im an female but I wanted a truck and Im so glad I chose the Ram. It looks and feels top of the line and didnt break the bank!
I read all the posts on Ram trucks and lack of service and information. I ordered a new chassis truck, told delivery would be 2/28/14. To cut a very long boring story short, Ram dont know where the truck is. The phone # and live chat cant or wont answer any questions like where is my truck?! Then the Ram rep called the rail yard where the truck is and was told they were not releasing the truck!! WHY? Nobody knows. I asked for a list of dealers that had a similar equipped truck and was told to go to my dealer they should have one!!! They dont. Thats why we ordered one. I give up. I told the dealer to get me a delivery date, have not heard anything. RAM yep.
2012 dodge Ram 3500 - I had problems with the rear end at 66,000 miles. Took to my dealer. They refused warranty due to water damage in the rear end. The truck was only about 9 months old (yes, I drive a lot). They wanted $5,500. I did it for $2,800. One month later, I checked the fluid. It had water in it again. I added 1 foot of hose to the axle vent and ran it over the frame and pointed it at the ground. No more problems the way Dodge had it, any water ran into the axle. BAD DESIGN.
The 1994 through 1997 Dodge Rams with the V10 engine had an ignition control module that selected the proper ignition coil. About 2002, Dodge discontinued this part (#56027978). As a result, when this part fails, the engine will only run on 6 cylinders and since there are no replacements, the truck is unrepairable. In my case, I have a truck with only 112,000 miles on it and it is only good for salvage. Retail value on this truck is about $8500 if it were running right, and I will have to eat the loss as the dealer wont even take it as a trade-in.
I bought the truck used from a Dodge dealership. Used it. Had 58,000 miles on it. I was shocked I got the loan so I planned on keeping the truck for a while. When it hit 102,000 miles (out of nowhere!) I lose the transfer case and the transmission (and I never abused the truck). Actually bought a new transfer case from dodge. Cost me $3,500 and cost me the same for the transmission I had rebuilt. 30,000 miles later the same thing happen to me. I lose both of them. To make a long story short I replaced 3 transmissions and 3 transfer cases.Got the same thing from dodge about transfer case out of warranty. I swear there was a defect in the truck when it was made, I took it to good people not on backyard mechanics. No one to this day could figure out why. I would of placed a suit against dodge for all the money I spent because trucks just dont do that. The truck was never wrecked either. Last winter I put a Jasper trany and Jasper transfer case in it. Had my truck maintained all the time. Last Nov. I had to change everything because it blew out dry shafts muffler pipes. It vibrating and no one can figure it out. WELL I am extremely happy to say I got another loan and I bought me a Ford F250 Super Duty. I will never buy a Dodge Ram ever again. They would have to give it to me for me drive it.
Dodge Ram 3/4 ton diesel 2 wheel drive transmission slips in and out. No one seems to be able to help or have any knowledge of this problem.
The Dodge Diesel 2500 is a strong powerful truck with exceptional towing capability. Reasonable fuel consumption. With routine service and maintenance, this vehicle will last 300,000 miles or more.
If you think for a second that the Ram badge means anything anymore, youre a fool just like I was to buy this $34,000 POS! The list is too long to list and transmission, electrical and engine trouble started at 600 miles! The only thing worse than the total lack of build quality is Chryslers denial technique. No one will take responsibility and service is always 2 weeks to 2 months away due to being completely overwhelmed with all these promaster rejects coming in with so many problems.Have decided to pay for a complete wrap with appropriate big yellow Lemon and verbiage to warn everyone about the horrible quality coming from Mexico. Will start in Asheville, NC and drive till I get justice for being robbed of my hard earned money. Anyone who wants to join my campaign is welcome. The wrap will be completed Jan 4th and I will be driving down the coast to Florida then take I-10 across to California making a total of 85 major dealers along the way including corporate offices.Chrysler has been shoving this junk to consumers and turning backs on the problems. Now we have this outsourced NAFTA garbage flooding the market and no one is checking the quality before shipping. After contacting all the responsible representatives assigned to resolving problems and have NO ONE call me back I am left with this last option. This is a matter of principle and while Chrysler has no shame in budging this junk the least I can do is show everyone what they are selling...
We purchased our 2019 Dodge Ram Lone Star on Labor Day of 2018, from All-Star Dodge in Canyon, TX. We live on 3 miles of dirt road, out in the country! The cab of our NEW pickup fills up with dirt every time we go down it! So much it’s suffocating! I’ve taken our truck to All-Star and they took pictures and they sent them into Chrysler, but they said the doors looked completely sealed. Since then I’ve sent MORE pictures and a video to Salvador at All-Star and still nothing is being done!??? My advice, don’t buy one of these, if you’re going to be driving it on dirt roads!! That’s pretty much why we own/buy trucks, because we live on a dirt road!! We own Fords and have owned Chevys and NEVER have we had dirt filling the cab, of our other pickups anytime!! Oh and I’m VERY OCD, about keeping my vehicles clean, at all times and I CAN’T KEEP THIS ONE CLEAN, AT ALL ON THE INSIDE!! We’ve had this truck starting January 1, 2019 goin on 5 months, that being said! I’ve been inhaling all the dirt and continue to, all this time and have been sneezing, coughing and dealing with sinus infections, from this crap! I’m headed back to Amarillo today 12-29-18, so YES I’m going to All-Star Dodge AGAIN & gonna see about getting someone higher up the ladder or having Salvador call someone higher than him!! Sick of this crap!! Oh yes and the trucks under warranty and I’ve already heard that All-Star Dodge will not/do not stand behind their word of, “We will take care of our customers!” So DON’T SHOP THERE!!
Ive had three Dodge Rams in my life and Ive really enjoyed them, they pack a lot of power and quality in a small price tag, look around at other trucks and youll find it hard to find a decent full size for under 50k but most all rams are even a few diesel models. Get a ram!
This Dodge Ram 1500 truck has a severe transmission problem where it jerks into 1st and 2nd gear which lunges the truck forward. Finding many references online with the exact same problem and after three dealership visits, Chrysler warranty claims the truck functions as designed. Buyer beware.
I purchased a 2006 Dodge Ram Quad cab (3/4 ton diesel pickup). I wanted a good pulling pickup that would get better gas mileage than my gas pickup. It did not happen. When I asked the service guy, he said it needed a break-in. Why did my niece get almost 30 miles to the gallon on her diesel with a load and an automatic while I get 9 miles to the gallon with a load and a manual shift? Did I get the shaft?
My Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 SLT pickup has a severely cracking dashboard, and it has been an obvious manufacturers defect for many years. It is getting to the point where the dash could become dislodged in pieces and either fall into the dashboard area or worse, shatter in sharp pieces in the event of a collision. I called the customer service 800 number and was told that even though I am the original owner of the vehicle, that Dodge would do nothing to make my vehicle safe for me and my kids because there were too many miles on the truck. Sad thing is that the truck has been an excellent vehicle, fun, completely reliable, and I wont buy another Dodge product because they wont fix a cosmetic issue that could be very dangerous.Short sighted corporation, as I would have bought another Dodge in a heartbeat, but not now.
The fuel tank sensor stopped working on my 2012 dodge RAM with 19000 miles on it 5 days after the warranty runs out. Could not get my truck inspected until I got it fixed. 390.00 later I am back on the road. Contacted RAM. Nothing they could do for me as it was past the 3 years. I wonder if they had the truck programmed to break after the warranty ended. Truck was always maintained and never abused. I should not be having 390.00 repair bills on a truck with 19000 miles on it. I would never buy another dodge RAM!!!
I took my truck that is a little over a year old in to have the DEF system checked and 2 recalls. We coordinated all of the issues with the dealer prior to arrival. They waited till I was about to pick up the truck to check on the DEF issue and they said they would call me in half an hour. I called 1 hour later and was told that the DEF wiring harness was shot and would not be going anywhere. Not to worry it will be in next Wednesday (this was a Friday). On Tuesday I decided to check and found that it might be Friday. At this point I contacted the Dodge national line and was told that it was definitely in on the following Wednesday. When I checked the following week, I was told that there we issues and it would now be in on the following Wednesday. When I checked 2 days later, I was told it would be Friday. I like my truck but to wait on a part for 21 days is unreasonable. I am not sure why their system is so broken, but based on their performance, I am not sure I could recommend a Dodge RAM. When you buy a truck like this you buy it because you need it. I haul my trailer to horse shows and do not have an option. I had to rent a truck to drive to a horse show and can only hope that Dodge covers it. They were trying to weasel out of paying for a tuck that is less than the truck that I purchased from them. The national representative has even stopped calling me back.
Have owned 3 Dodge Rams...all had transmission problems and required replacements. All had issues with Limp Mode which is when the vehicle dies while driving. Stay away from these turds...go with the undisputed winner Toyota Tundra.
Bought a demo Dodge Ram 2015 Longhorn Limited EcoDiesel with 2400km on it. On Thanksgiving driving on a HW with my whole family, noticed burning tire smell in cabin, and a smoke behind me. I have just done rustproofing and car was standing outside for 3 days without being used as per recommendation due to drip, but found it weird that the smoke appeared after an hour of driving, did not make sense. As I was pulling over to make sure my tires are not on fire engine shut down without a warning or any type of alarm. I was towing an empty trailer which was soaked with black engine oil and after checking the oil level, there was none in the engine. After towing my truck back to the dealer and diagnostic (500$CAN) was told that they found metal shavings in oil pan, the main crankshaft bearing failed = metal shavings spread, build up pressure that blew rear main seal and due to engine oil loss resulted in catastrophic engine failure. Since in Canada warranty is only to 100000Km and I am at 141000Km, it will not be covered by a warranty, and service manager, after showing me the bill for repairs told me I should of bought an extended warranty (thanks **, for a reliable product that I bought from your dealership). Called Fiat and any one I could think of, seemed that the system is stacked against consumer. Estimate for repair is 19000$CAN plus 26h of labour, plus tax. (oh and they are on a 2 week backorder since they only make 20/week) Towed my car on my own to US dealers who are currently installing my new engine (used cost 6500USD and new 9985$ USD) and labour is 23h to do the job (usually 2 business days or less to deliver new engine). In US it is 100000miles warranty and receptionist assured me that he will look into the warranty for me on his side, not holding my breath, but after dealing with all these issues and not having a car for a month, my trust in Dodge or Fiat products has been diminished. After doing a little googling for this particular issue, a lot of info out there, bottom line there has not been a Canadian/US class action movement yet although quite a bit of engine failures stats for 2017 - 19 Fiat EcoDiesel failures per week in comparison to Cummings 2/week. Not sure where they got their stats but will look into closely. Mine is a 2015 and has even worse rep as per online reviews. Depend on my outcome with America dealer when I pick up my truck with new engine in it (so far customer service has been 100% better). As for Canadian side, I will no longer buy a car there from any dealer due to heavy monopoly, price gouging and a very poor customer service.
Door locks malfunction. Checked out, repaired, now a month later... same problem - module bad. Also tire pressure wont read on one tire intermittently. Dealer said thats a different module. Now getting radio problems and message to contact dealer as phone inoperable. Every time have to go to dealer to check then return to repair when part available. Now saw parts back ordered. Very disappointed.
2016 Ram 2500 Cummings Diesel Laramie, purchased 3.5 months ago brand new and has been in the shop for 11 days with front end noise and vibration issues that started at 4600 miles. The truck is still at the dealer with no answer how they will fix or when I will get it back. Very disappointed with Manufacture! I would not command purchasing any product from this manufacture.
Our 2009 Dodge Ram truck is sitting in the driveway and it is useless. It only has 130,000 miles. We have had it in for numerous repairs and we still have a useless truck that has no power. There is also a recall on a front end part and we still have never been able to get in for the repair. There is now a recall on the recall. Please do not buy a Dodge truck of any kind. Especially, do not buy from Love Chrysler in Alice, Texas. They could never fix your truck but they could keep sure could find something wrong with it. We spent over $20,000 on repairs and finally just went and bought a new Ford Truck. We will never ever step inside a Dodge Chrysler Dealership again to buy a car or truck. Why cant all of us who have been sold lemons band together and make Dodge Chrysler stand behind their repairs.
Let me begin by saying that I love my truck! But can tell you that Dodge service is subpar and over the top expensive. I took my 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 into the place I had bought it from. When I put the key in nothing happened. They had it for 3 weeks. I told them just leave it like it is and had it towed to Dodge. Dodge had it fixed in 1 day. Great right? Well when I got in my truck to take it home the console was just set back in place. I brought the mechanic out to look at it. He said Thats the way it came in. Are you kidding me? How am I supposed to drive this? I had to take it back to the first place I went to finish the job Because he wasnt sure how to put the console back in. YOURE THE DEALER! Its your truck. My second was when my key fob stopped working. I cant unlock my truck using my remote. I have to remove the key from its fob and unlock it old School. I go to the dealer (the only place you can go) and they say Sure, $300 please. Youre Kidding? Nope! Thats why most people just use the key. $30,000 and I have to use a key? Unless you give me $300. This brings me to my most recent fun filled experience. My engine light is on. After taking it to a trusted mechanic shop they tell me the only way they can get the light out is to take it to the dealer for an update on your system that only the dealer can do. In 2012 there was a Technical service bulletin issued for my truck. As I was NOT the original owner I was not notified. Now in 2017 the only way I can get my truck to pass smog is to take it to Dodge and PAY $120 to have my system updated. THEIR SYSTEM updated in my truck. After all it takes Labor to plug my truck into a computer for 5 minutes and push START. When I asked if this would solve the issue they said maybe not. You should have us do a diagnostic on it first for $210. If it turns out to just need the update will that money be covered in the $210? No. The $120 will be added to the $210. Sooo, I need to pay for an update to a system in one of your trucks when anything on my phone that is a Bug or systemic problem with their programming they just update it for free as its a programming issue on their end and nothing I did. To quote Yep. And if I do get the diagnostic test done Ill still need to pay for the update regardless so youre going to get $330 no matter what? Sounds like it. Does it at least come with lube? HaHa. Im not laughing. I called national customer service. Here Comes the final straw. He brings up that my warranty had run out. I told him thats impossible. I paid $1500 for the extended warranty 100,000 miles or 10 years. Its 8 years old and only has 71,000 miles. He told me the truck wasnt brought in for its 30,000 mile checkup so the warranty was voided. It had 38,000 miles on it when I bought it in 2012. How come I wasnt told about that then. As I wasnt the original owner I guess I wasnt notified. So what about the $1500 I spent on YOUR warranty. Sorry. I love my truck but I can see to keep it on the road its going to really keep costing me and it sure doesnt feel like Dodge cares all that much.
Own 2012 Dodge Ram with only 30k miles. Heater core went bad and will cost $800-$1100 to repair. Called Dodge and they will not pay any portion of the repair due to Age of truck. Explained truck looks like new with extremely low mileage (average mileage for a year is 12-15k miles) and would do absolutely nothing!! Done with this company. Will be sure to let people know and will post on social media as well. Poor customer service!!!
On 07/07/14 I bought a 09 Ram truck from Island Chrysler in Pawleys Island SC. It only had 37233 miles on it. It came with a 90-day power train warranty. On the FIRST day I informed the dealership about an engine issue. I took the truck back for service the next business day. They checked it out and said it was fine. It only got worse. The engine loses power and smoke pours out the tailpipe. I took it back on 08/20/14 again no resolution. To date it has happened 15 times. I have put 3000 miles on it and it has used over 2 quarts of oil every 1000 miles. I have changed the oil twice. I called Chrysler and they have given me the runaround. I am disabled and can not afford to fix this. HELP.
My truck has had issues with shifting since the day I bought it. The salesman told me it just needs to be broken in. I have 40,000 miles and now they have to put a new transmission in and they are starting out with only replacing a solenoid. Meanwhile I have no car. I research this now and see several complaints on transmissions and engines. Not happy with this vehicle at all.
My radio on my 2012 Ram hasnt worked right for a couple months. Sometimes it will come on but most of the time it wont. It only affects the AM and FM, CD player working and serious radio work. Of course Dodge wont back their products up. Very disappointed, will buy something different next time.
My 2019 Ram 1500 extended cab pickup truck has been a very good vehicle. The overall value Im very happy with. The warranty is on par with the rest of the industry. The power is great and the ride is very comfortable.
I purchased 2015 Dodge Ram last December with about 30,000, miles on it. Since then it has had FOUR safety recalls and the major recall on the power steering is being ignored. My local auto mechanic told me to see recall number - 16-U-167, but Dodge is stating there is no recall on this repair which just cost me over $2,700. I asked to cover at least half the cost of this repair. Rick ** at Christopher Dodge, agreed that this type of repair should not happen at low millage if at all, but they refused make amends and sent me to Dodge. I see a recall (note below) on the internet, but they should be standing behind their product either way. IF the power steering had gone out while I was driving I could have been killed. This will be my last Dodge. https://repairpal.com/recall/16V167000.Summary: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Ram 1500 trucks manufactured January 22, 2015, to September 13, 2015. Contamination on the Electric Power Steering (EPS) control circuit board may cause a short and result in the loss of power steering assist. Any advice would be appreciated.
I purchased a used 2004 Dodge Ram 1500. Right after I did, it had a shake and grinding noise in the front end, so I took it in. They never put it on the lift; they just drove it and said there was nothing. I took it the next day to Dunn Tire. They found 2 tires with broken belts, so I had all 4 replaced. I told Fox Chrysler Dodge and they did nothing and said they couldnt hear the noise. Also, when I bought the truck before, as we were making the deal, there was a rust area on the driver side box wheel. Well, they told me they put new metal in as requested but it has started bubble rusting through. I have all the receipts from the 2 wheel bearings; I had to replace the tires, plus the rear end was leaking when they had it in once - I pointed that out and they never fixed it. I have the receipts from that also. I went to the Better Business site and filed a complaint (also the state DMV). I need help. These crooked dealers need to be stopped.
I bought a Dodge Ram 2500 4 by 4 Cummins diesel 2015 model at Carl Gregory of Savannah Ga. I was told they would have my side steps black wheel to wheel for my truck that Friday. They put me off 5 different dates over a 3 week period to end up telling me they couldnt even get them (cost figured in price of truck). I ending up telling them to get them from OReillys auto parts or either Pep Boys and I gave them the part number to both, only to find out later that Mopar does carry the black wheel to wheel Mega Cab side steps. Now after owning it for six weeks my tire pressure sensors have gone out. It is now been the shop four times for a total of over 10 days and has yet to be repaired. The last time Carl Gregory had my truck, they had it for 6 days and did not do anything. They had told me it needed a module but after 6 days still do not have it put in. Now I have taken it to a new dealer to see if they can fix it. It has been there one day and they have ordered a sensor to see if they can fix it when there are 4 sensors that are not working. This is my first Dodge and probably my last. I have filed a complaint with Chrysler Corporation customer service....and my back Friday.
My Dodge Ram had 500000 miles on it when I got rid of it. No disappointments. I never replaced 1 injector, normal wear and tear. It went through brakes. Other than that, it was a great truck. All truck makers have little quirks, lights that burn out, front and back. Some switches, electrical.
2013 Ram 2500 bought new. Constant on going electrical problem well documented with Chrysler. Chrysler refused many times to help with trade or buy truck back. Truck explodes in fire and Chrysler tell me they are not going to fix it or replace it even with the fact it is under warranty. Fact, these trucks are dangerous, fact Chrysler is a dangerous company and will not play by the rules. Search web for fires and other life threatening events with Chrysler products. We could have been killed. Stay clear of Chrysler products.
I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Mega Cab 4x4 which was bought new with a lifetime power train warranty. The oil pressure gauge went down several times, which I pulled over and sometimes the minute I did the pressure picked up. Most of the time I killed the truck for a few seconds and restarted and pressure picked back up. I took it to Rockwall Dodge. They kept it for a week and told me they could not duplicate and to keep driving it. If it happened again, to not turn it off, and drive it to them. I told them I am not driving my truck with no pressure. Few months later the rod broke in the motor. The field rep said there was sludge in the motor and denied my claim, saying it was not maintained. I sent a year’s worth of maintenance receipts to the case manager, and they say that it’s the field manager that looked at the pictures to base his personal opinion even though I have records. Now there is no one to override this opinion. I did my part (regular maintenance). Now they still won’t fix my truck. There are fresh metal shavings in the photos that sludge the oil and turned it silver, pieces of the broke rod, and pick up screen full of shavings. This is all a result of the rod breakage and there is no reason this should not be covered. I had the dealership send me over the same photos the rep was sent and there is no way this is an un-maintenanced truck. Need help to make Dodge honor their lifetime power train warranty!
My Ram stopped in the middle of road 3 times now. First time I took it to the dealer they replaced a cable. Second time they replaced the mpc because the water went in it. It has been raining but I cant even take it to a car wash. And now the third, the engine cut off. The dealer is telling me its the alternator and its not covered under warranty because it was muddy. The cost is approx $2000. Let me just say that when I bought the Ram for work, it was to be able to travel in a construction site. Even they advertise it going in mud, mountains etc. I am very disappointed of this truck. Seems that I wont be able to take to work anymore and leave it in the parking at home since it wont survive mud. Never going to buy a Dodge truck ever again. The 60,000$ truck is not made for construction people.
Since we got the Ram Dodge 2007 1500 pickup in 2008 from the dealership, the 4 wheel drive truck will all of a sudden die when I hit some bumps on our dirt road where we live (I am not 4 wheeling either, I have kids in the car). This happens randomly. We have taken it in now for 3 times. First time, they said they saw that it happened on the computer. However, the second and third time, they said they didn’t see it and that it was because my key chain was too heavy. Since 2008, it has died while driving on my dirt road at least 8 times. I just pray it never does it on a bumpy road, on the freeway or highway. Does anyone else have this problem? I don’t take it to the dealership anymore because they say it is because of my keys. Well, I changed it so now it is light so it can’t be that.
My 1500 is only 1 year old and has 26K miles on it. Recently my brakes began squeaking at low speed when applied. Was informed I need to machine my rotors, $250. Rotors only have a 1 year or 12K mile warranty. Rotors cannot handle daily rush hour commute. Its a truck and it cant handle daily rush hour traffic??? I dont even tow anything. Overall, I love my truck. Called customer service twice and they were clueless to assist me. 3 different dealers service department have informed me this is common due to the nickel content in the rotors. The rotors in stop and go traffic are overheating and becoming pitted which is causing the squeak when braking.
Brand New Truck with paint issues on the roof, inner door and metal shavings under paint in the bed. After weeks of contacting them, they approved the roof and the bed but they denied the claim for the door even when the area had rust on it and I just own the truck for like two weeks. If your trucks rust in two weeks then is poor materials used on it. Before they approved the truck to get fix, I fix the bed. My guy repair all the paint and metal shavings. I decided to spray a bed liner since it would be the best option to keep the bed in good shape. I sent the receipt and now Dodge Chrysler is giving me a hint that they might denied the claim since I installed a bed liner on top of the repairs. Are you kidding me, you should be praising me since I fix it for way less that was approved initially.Crappy company, and by the way I had a 2007 Ram. I also own a charger and now have this problem on this Ram 2016 Laramie. Is incredible how they are risking a customer for a mere $597. This truck was 50K. Plus Im stuck with this truck with a major problem (roof paint), Dodge who is going to pay me for the value lost for a crappy paint job done by you. Im pretty sure this will come out on my truck report. Also if you have a problem with your dealer, then you are out of luck since they contact the dealer for everything. The dealer that I deal with is Arrigo Dodge in Fort Pierce FL. Good luck if you are in this area. They are as crappy as it gets. They are part of this problem since I took the truck for the pictures to them. They did not took my info so the case was just sitting there till I call them. Really mad customer
I have already stated before about our exhaust filter issues (PDF). Thats been a journey. The truck still does not regenerate. Now, I wanted to note how dirty Chrysler plays their role. We were in a gravel drive to discover we needed our 4 wheel drive because they had some good gravel in drive. For us to discover the transfer case was out. Our 2015 5500 truck stayed in the shop for 31 days. I asked for a little help on downtime and Chrysler fights that they even go into my fb page to copy pics and any sayings I had posted to go up against me. Ok, now, were dealing with a shortage in the truck. And also at night LOTS of dampness and moisture gets in the truck. Our things inside even gets wet. We get sick. If you purchase a Dodge vehicle you are stuck with all issues. We never was offered extended warranty. I realize that and Chrysler turned us down. Said it was too late cause we had 65,000 miles on it. You know why they denied extended warranty? Because they know they sold us a lemon. And must I add... They go out of no way to make anything right. We also had problems with the hogshead leaking. That put us out of work for a while also. The transfer case was not replaced the front end. They just replaced gears. Which means later, all the metal that was grinder is going to cause more problems.
I have this car Dodge Dart SXT 2014 new and I have problems with idle, transmission shifting bad, front suspension noise and steering noise in cold temperature. I take my car to the dealer more than 3 times and they do nothing to fix the problems of my car. I am tired of the excuses of Dodge dealers. I want this problem fix.
My husband and I purchased our 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 on August 8th of last year. Our first issue was the a/c took it to the dealership. They did the dye test and said everything was fine that it was just over charged within 2 weeks. I was calling them again because it was not fixed. They tell me to bring it back, they did the dye test again and found a bad gasket, problem fixed!! Now our second issue is well we dont know. The dealership dont know either. The traction stability light was coming on and staying on while at the same time the tire pressure sensor is beeping and flashing in the dash. I called the dealership starting on the first of September and I called them everyday. I was told by one of the service associates that unless it doesnt start or leaves me stranded, then it should be fine just keep driving it. 4 associates, 2 managers and over a week later, they call me to bring it in that was on 9/10/14. They still have our truck and still dont know whats wrong with it. Im so frustrated and dont know what to do!!
I purchased a RAM ProMaster 3500 to remodel and use as a RV to travel in my retirement. I purchased the Diesel so it would last a long time. The motor failed three times in 20,700 miles. The state of North Carolina titled it as a Lemon. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS TRUCK. In addition Chrysler Customer Service lied to me on three (3) occasions, so do not trust them to make good on what they tell you. The old Chrysler is dead and the new owner Fiat is not to be trusted. Sell your Chrysler stock. The product appears to be a good price, the actual cost can not be calculated, I lost over $7,000 dollars over a 30 day period while I lived on the side of the road.
Love the powerful engine, but not worth the headaches. Tons of recalls... 3 in the last week!!! Brought truck in for its first tire rotation and the mechanic asked if I had been in an accident as the entire truck bed is nearly 2” out of alignment (shifted to the left) with the front cab! Radio, navigation system, AND hands-free phone system all started to glitch at 48, 000 miles. Would cost over $700 to replace. The body looks beautiful, but dents much easier than ANY of my trucks... I’ve owned GMC and FORD prior to purchasing my RAM. Very frustrated with all the service issues and not having a navigation system that was quite pricey!
Love this van (Dodge Ram Regency Conversion Van). It is very nice to drive. Comfort in any seat you sit in. If you need seating this is your van. Tired, take a nap. The back bench seat folds down and makes a comfortable bed. Plenty of room for whatever you need.
First off NEVER buy a new Dodge truck!! We bought a brand new 2015 Dodge Ram 3500 DRW... Only having 147 miles on it at 3,000 miles truck went in to the shop for over a month to have tail gate and hood re-painted from having blemished paint from the shipping! At the time of getting re-painted the truck was out of line and pulling terribly to the right... Having electrical issues and squealing brakes! Again at 10,000 miles pulling strongly again to the right we take it back in and get aligned... Right after leaving the dealership the steering leakage comes apart while my wife was driving down the interstate... Went in the shop again for a few weeks... This truck has been through 3 sets of tires and it only has 36,000 miles on it...Since buying this truck it has literally been in the shop every two months the last time which was last week it spent 1 month and 1 week in the shop with the front end coming apart once again in the truck!! We pick it up this week and its shaking so bad its hard to drive and the passenger back ceiling is leaking from the rain!! The truck is covered in ants inside and out they are coming out the vents and steering column!! Called to report our problems once again to Hoover Dodge Jeep and Ram in Summerville, SC only to be treated like a piece of trash!! We are hardly getting to drive the truck because its constantly in the shop but yet the payments are due every single month on time!! So over this company and the dealership!! DO NOT BUY A NEW DODGE!!! Take our advice and just about everyone on this page that is complaining!! This company has went to hell very quickly.
We bought the truck in May of 2016. We have had Nothing But Problems! It is currently back in the shop to have the cams and lifters replaced on the side that didnt get replaced just a few months ago! We have had electrical problems, cruise control problems, sensor problems. Thankfully we paid the 3800.00 for the extended warranty! I would strongly suggest doing your homework prior to purchasing a Dodge Ram! I will definitely NOT purchase another one!
I traded my 16 F150 for a 19 Ram 1500 and I didnt look back. The Ram ride is smooth, the acceleration is quick, but not jerky. The 8 speed transmission is a little indecisive when its shifting, but it doesnt make the truck ride any different. I did have an issue with my Google maps showing me in Colorado, but after an update everything is working fine.
