My 2016 Cadillac ATS is presently at the dealership being tested for a jerky transmission ride--they apparently cant find anything wrong with it! When placed in Drive, it is not a smooth transmission but when I disengage the stop-engine feature it is a little better but not much. Ironically you have to DISENGAGE the stop engine feature on the car since the default is always ON! Ive driven GM cars, including Cadillac for 50 years and this is the most disconcerting ride of any car Ive owned. Curious if others are experiencing this same difficulty?

My 2007 Cadillac DTS has started leaking oil and the dealer informed me the cost to replace the lower block seals is $3400! Wow! I am shocked this isnt covered under the 100k Engine and Drive Train Warranty. Maybe thats why the extended warranty mileage has recently been reduced significantly. I see lots of posts about this leak on other sites.

Cadillac offers coupes, sedans and SUVs. I have the Cadillac Escalade which is luxurious but tough, can hold our large family and cargo and has excellent snow/ice traction. It is an SUV which features a built-in DVD player, an excellent stereo system and heated seats both available to change in the back seat. It can very comfortably hold 5 to 7 passengers and the family pet with room for camping gear and shopping items, even for moving furniture.

Took my 2010 Cadillac SRX 81,000 miles. Dealership said I need new Timing Chain. The Chain has been stretched out of place. $1900.00 dollars to repair. GM has to know they have a problem with the Timing Chain on these vehicles. Talked with local repair shop who has seen the same problems with at least one other SRX. What a lousy car, will never buy another American made vehicle.

Cadillac DHS 2003 - Just read a comment by an owner of a 2003 Cadillac and I wanted to respond with What are you doing with my car? I have had to replace the transmission, rack & pinion, numerous window regulators, A/C compressor etc and now the intake manifold gasket. One would think that after building cars for a hundred years, and the humiliation of putting (the once revered) Cadillac name on the Cimarron, that taking some pride in engineering components shouldnt be asking too much.

Cadillacs models are all really cool and I like them and I wish I could buy them all but I cant because who has that kind of money? I drive an escalade which is a huge vehicle with lots of space. It has got a rugged design which I like a lot and it makes for good business. It is a very huge car and can seat 7 people which is enough for birthday groups, road trips and all sorts of crazy adventures. So I really really like it and I hope it is a feature they do not take away because then I would be sad.

2000 Cadillac Deville Delegance - Purchased the car in 2005 with 67K miles
2000 Cadillac Deville Delegance - Purchased the car in 2005 with 67K miles on it. I wanted a big car to be comfortable sitting in traffic. The Car was a Florida car brought up to NYC for trade-in on a Toyota Avalon. The dealer indicated the car had all service records from the date of purchase, so i bought the car. It was a REALLY nice car to drive, big beautiful bench seats, lots of power and great on gas. I averaged 25MPG which in a cruiser was something unheard of at the time. But at about 75K miles, all the beauty was left behind. The car ended up with overheating issues, i brought it to Cadillac who indicated that this was a known issue on the Deville and DHS of those years, that the NorthStar had issues with the head studs sealing incorrectly and leaking. They told me that the engine would need to be replaced, because of the design flaw that caused the engine head to warp (Why no recall?). I ended up buying a NHRA approved Dragster Radiator and cooling fan and wired it up to a toggle switch, after checking with multiple forums, it turns out that this is NOT the case, it is a flaw in the cooling system, that if caught early enough can be corrected. This worked for the remainder of the life of the car, but in that time, I replaced: All power window motors with Toyota Camry motors, which lasted the length of the car, replaced the thermostat with a wide open version that would constantly circulate the coolant. Replaced the stereo, as it shorted out, due to water leaking into the car when it rained, which used to set the alarm off while driving in the rain. Replaced the Torque converter with a high performance one from an LT1 Vette. And for kicks after the exhaust rotted off put two flowmasters on it. While it was a nice looking car, it died at 103K miles with a fiery death due to an electrical fire from water leaking into the car from under the windshield onto the electronic instrument cluster. (Ironically after the fire my fans and radiator still worked) Guess I wire better than GM. My complaint with GM is why they cant build cars better? I have had Toyotas go 400K+ miles with only 1-2k dollars of actual maintenance needed for the life of the car. I cant understand why people keep buying them. I for one would buy another Cadillac Deville, but only as a weekend tinker project, or possibly a demo derby car, since fire typically gets the crowd roaring!

This sunroof started leaking water after I had the car about 5 years. I have a 2009 Cadillac CTS sedan. The first time this happened the car was still under warranty. Everything in the front was soaking, the dashboard, the floor, the seats, the doors. We had a hard rain the night before so I rented a carport to keep my car in. But, every year since then, any time there is any moisture or rain in the air, it affects the electrical system, the check engine light comes on, and after they get through with repairs I have at least a $500 bill. The water is still an issue with other parts of my car. Water damaged seat motor on my drivers side. $1100 bill for used motor that was in another car. The whole electrical system that controls the movements of the seats had to be replaced.

Cadillac ats 2013 - Vehicle makes loud clunking noise when in drive and at a stop. Feels as if engine is shaking. For 50,000 miles and engine noises to appear seems as if Cadillac is a rip off. The worst, the dealer doesnt help unless you pay for them to diagnose what is so loud and clear. GM needs to get their crap together. Cadillac vehicles are beautiful, but will become ugly to an owner that has to spend so much money on an issue that is obviously from the maker. How do you expect to compete with BMW?

I bought a brand new Cadillac CT6 in 2017. After 2 years of use, I noticed the wheels had some spots that resulted to be paint peeling off of the wheels. It took multiple visits to the dealership to open a report and get the warranty claim started since service technicians did not know how to properly open a warranty claim. After more than 2 months of continuous visits to the dealership, GM finally answered that they would not replace the wheels due to warranty expiration. Poor warranty support on a car of more than $50k tag price. Not buying Cadillac again.

Recently purchased this as a new car from a local dealer who used it as a courtesy vehicle. It had only 2500 miles and had most of the factory warranty remaining. I am glad I did not pay the new car price and paid at a nearly 40% discount off sticker. This Cadillac defines why discerning luxury car buyers never cross shop Cadillac and laugh at the notion of Cadillac being a luxury brand. This car is rife with rattles, poor fit and finish, low quality materials, the failure that is CUE, clouding headlamps (at 4000 miles), constant headlight malfunction warnings, misfitting panels, steering that seems to have a mind of its own often failing to turn with input or causing the wheel to jerk without input. This is the sorriest excuse for a luxury automobile ever and explains why Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Lexus, Volvo, Jaguar, and other traditional luxury brand owners will never cross shop a Cadillac.

I purchased a 2012 Cadillac SRX with Navigation. It is a piece of trash. It doesnt place me within 1000 feet of my desired target and gives wrong messages as far as turning directions. I discussed the problem with the Cadillac District Rep and he said its as good as it gets. The Nav system is a $2400+ add-on. My advice? Dont buy a Cadillac. Their customer service stinks. I purchased a new 2013 Cadillac CTS Coupe in July 2013. A week after purchasing the car, I noticed a popping sound when I put the car in reverse and turned the wheels. The dealership determined that the rear differential must be replaced. They replaced rear differential and 2 month later, the right rear differential seals were leaking fluid. Car returned to dealer for this repair. I have since contacted an attorney to pursue a buyback from Cadillac under the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act. The right side weather stripping/molding had to be replaced as it would not seal completely and water would enter my vehicle when it rains or when at the car wash. Cadillac says this does not qualify as a defect therefore they are only willing to grant a minimal goodwill cash offer. Cadillac/General Motors is pathetic.

It took me a while to just figure out what I was really looking for in a Cadillac because their cars were all good quality models. When I narrowed it down a bit, I still had trouble deciding other features of the car which were also varying. I got a sleek, classy DeVille in a dark blue color that isnt too flashy but still retains the prestige of a cadillac. It has a tan leather interior with heated seats as well as settings that can stored for up to 2 drivers. Its passenger capacity is up to 5 people with a driver, passenger seat, and 3 people in the back, although it might be a bit of tight squeeze, but that has not been an issue. The actual specs and parts of the car were not really a great concern of mine considering I wanted to keep the car the way it is for a while.

I had submitted a review in June after having been told by Cadillac that I was SOL regarding the issue I had with the OEM tires on my 2017 XT5. Fortunately, I complained to my dealer and told them I wouldn’t be back after my lease was up. The dealer intervened on my behalf with Cadillac and shockingly, they were successful where I had not been....I received a check for full reimbursement for the Continental tires I replaced the OEM Michelin tires with. According to the lady with the dealership that handles warranty issues, there should not have been an issue with Cadillac refusing my claim as there had been a Bulletin issued regarding the problem with the tires!! So...I have a decision to make....I’m happy with my dealer, but still unhappy with Cadillac! I will at least consider another Caddy, but not a slam dunk for me like it once was! I will also consider others as well! Remember when you bought a Cadillac knowing you were buying quality? Not so much anymore. One would think the manufacturer would figure that out. Regardless, I felt I should tell “the rest of the story”!

I like the customization to the chassis that we ordered from the showroom. It has a unique design that is noticeable worldwide no matter where you go. I definitely look forward to buying another one. Although we have very few customizations the dealer offered various promotion packages that allowed us to customize the ceiling, the color of the car, the interior even a sunroof. I was more than satisfied with my purchase experience. It was the sedan so there was plenty of seating for me and my family. I bought a 2010 Cadillac SRX June 2012 with 62,000 miles. Biggest mistake of my life. After paying almost $43,000 for a luxury car you expect getting your money’s worth. I should have taken the legacy deal being offered for my QX45 Nissan Infinity from the dealer across the street But my hubby convinced me to BUY American. One week later the hydraulic for my tailgate almost knock me unconscious. That was $150 out of pocket for it was a supposedly As is sale. Dealership had forgotten about the 10 point pre-inspection he had bragged about. They promised replacement for the scuffed wheel wells was also almost a no go. The salesman had developed an amnesia issue. That should have been an indication of future and my still on-going issues with my car. Alexander of Oxnard and GMC refusal to recognize my issues with this very expensive LEMON. Two years later my woes had begun. First, dealer’s insurance company was unable to locate my extended warranty to cover the issue. How convenient. After purchasing another 2- year of coverage, my warranty was found so now I had an overlap of 3 months, but with another contractor. Two different companies. I have lost count of the number of hours Ive spent taking in my car because of dropped phone calls, radio not working, incorrect direction by navigation system, or my car cutting off and refusing to restart. The constant failure of the navigation system which is link to the radio is usually an indication my car will fail to start in the next weeks. Now I am skittish about plugging my iPod into the car’s system. Navigation/phone systems refuse to save local addresses and phone #s. Alexander recommended replacing the navigation/radio system for a hefty $800. After much discussion it was reduced to $350. Im still refusing to pay out of pocket. Neither GM nor the dealership can explain why I should pay out of pocket for this much noted design flaw. Oh let me not forget to mention I cannot take my car through a car wash. It would be necessary to get a jump in order to leave the parking lot. I read where another SRX owner has the same issues. Now I am in the process of submitting documents to be reimbursed for towing fees, a new battery, and the initial labor cost for troubleshooting cars problem; problems stemming from design defect that GM was already aware of. I am still hoping GM will do the right thing and replace my radio and navigation system free of charge. This citizen will not ever buy GM again. Going back to Nissan.

2011 Cadillac SRX Luxury Collection Delegance - Anyone who buys this year/model car should beware of the issues. I was fortunate enough to unload this car and I couldnt be happier that I am rid of it. It was in the shop at least once a month after the warranty was over. I could not afford to keep taking it to the mechanic for one thing after another and there are no decent warranties available to cover it over 60k. I drive a lot (obviously its a 2011 and it had over 70k when I got rid of it). Cadillac should offer a much longer warranty if they are going to sell a crossover or any other vehicle that needs repairing as much as this. There is no piece of mind with this car. The navigation was always broken and the pop up screen is a joke. The starter was fixed twice, the water pump was bad, the belts were bad, it overheated constantly, it was making thumping noises toward the end so I knew the transmission was about to go. If Cadillac considers elegance as waiting for another tow truck, then they did a good job. I couldnt wait to get my new Land Rover but I dont think I will ever get out from under that Cadillac.

Upgrades are a plus like seat warmer, sunroof, and all the extras. But I got those cause they are a must to me, and its more convenient. Space was also a must for me, and the vehicles capacity is awesome! The leg room, arm space are not cramped up like the other car Ive had previously. Everyone is satisfied and comfortable.

Unfortunately the 2011 excellent DTS Cadillac we owned was in a head on with a loose horse and my husband was killed and me suffering injuries for 3 years. Needless to say that Cadillac was totaled. It was my mother’s day gift from my love. To top that in 2 months I lost my only grand daughter and her 3 year old girl in a horrific wreck roll over auto accident where they drowned in the bayou of Louisiana. It was so devastating to where all I wanted to do was die. Then 2 weeks later lost 3 very long time best friends in weird tragic ways.Rented a car for 3 months then found this incredible awesome 2013 Cadillac XTS 4. Only 6,000 miles from previous owner. I was happy to say the sales rep got me through to the purchase and it was my Miracle Car. I have loved it with all my heart and had more compliments than ever on an auto from young kids to people so old they could hardly walk with their canes or walkers. It is an absolute beauty.BUT now... along with so, so many I found online with exact same problem, most threatening, suggesting or planning to file a class action suit, I too am so distraught because the CUE SYSTEM is OUT! It began (like most others) at the bottom level, then in short time, maybe 2 weeks, the entire system went out. NO navigation, no radio, no Sirius XM, which Ive paid a year in advance for. No car phone, no emergency contact info. The car was purchased as a luxury with all of this in it, but now it is NOT working! I suggested to the big online group to let’s ask Cadillac to do a RECALL since so many have or will have this same problem, trying to talk them out of a class action suit.I do NOT want to make a bad name for Cadillac as I LOVE the dealership, the SERVICE representatives and mechanics and the dept. Their services are the BEST ever! The salesman who sold it to me was the BEST ever. Im 77 so Ive purchased a lot of cars and dealt with a lot of salesmen! Will you PLEASE, PLEASE help me to get this CUE Infotainment Center replaced? I was told by dealership it would be a minimum of $1,200 and others were told up to $1,900.We are appalled that our warranties and extended warranties do not cover replacement and there is no fix for it. Warranties state that the only classification is RADIO and radio is not covered. Thanks for your help. Hopefully to assist me in pulling out of this deep depression and downhill slide with this all now happening on top of everything else. This system is really the only companionship I had when traveling alone.

We have enjoyed our Cadillac SRX, but have the headlight fogging issue. We were out of the country when they issued the recall but missed it when we came back. They stated basically that we were out of luck. Earlier this year they offered $200 towards a $1200 repair bill to replace both headlight assemblies. We cant see with the headlights on low beam and have to place them on high beam. In checking with Cadillac today they are standing by their offer. We will not buy another Cadillac and will be telling anyone we encounter that is looking to purchase a luxury car to stay away from Cadillac because of their lack of support. I have had much better success from Lexus and Ford with issues like this. I will stay with these brands.

I am a owner of a 2012 Cadillac SRX. My husband and I had started to notice our low beam lights getting dim to the point that driving at night is next to impossible without the high beams and we were trying to figure out how to come up with the money to get our vehicle’s lights repaired thinking it was just something that happened over time. Recently 02/24/20 we received a letter in the mail that GM was offering to reimburse customers up to 800.00 per headlight who had spent money out of pocket to get the issue corrected. Well my first thought was great we don’t have to worry about how we are going come up with the money because GM is acknowledging that this is an issue on their end and we could just take our vehicle to the dealership show them the letter and they would fix our lights. WRONG! When I called the dealership we were told GM would NOT pay upfront for our repairs although they are AWARE of the issues with the SRX’s headlights. They are only willing to reimburse after repairs are done which could cost the customer up to 1,600.00. So my question next was what if the customer cannot afford the expense upfront? GM’s answer was, SORRY WE CANNOT HELP YOU....I cannot explain how taken advantage of I felt, Shame on you GM. You acknowledge upfront the problem is moisture related issues causing headlights that you placed in these vehicle to fail but you will only reimburse those who can afford to have them fixed first on their own if then.... During research I read reviews where some people have been waiting months to get their money back. I am not sure what is going to happen in my case but for anyone reading this review please beware. It is unacceptable how GM treats its customers and their their regard for customer safety. I will NEVER purchase another vehicle from them!

I purchased a 2012 Cadillac SRX about 8 months ago. The lift arms that keep the back hatch up both had to be replaced. I have had an ongoing intermittent problem with the display being static or shutting completely off. The vehicle is having an idle problem when the vehicle is stopped and when accelerating. When I expressed my frustration to the service manager, he told me, Well, GM makes the car; we have nothing to do with that. I responded that they sold me the car. I want the vehicle fixed and I dont want to bring the car in for a third time for the same problem.

Cadillac has base models but they also offer the coolest upgrades in the automotive industry. They have more upgrades coming as well. All of the Cadillac cars are beautiful so it was easy to choose. I love the way all the models look and how all the features really stand out. Several of the models are roomy for passengers. They did their homework when it comes to being roomy.

Its silver, with nice trim, and good rims. Its also a smooth ride. The name brand says it all, its definitely a caddy. There is many different choices you can pick from when it comes to upgrades and whatnot, but mine was bought used, so it came with whatever. You can also fit a good amount of people in the car, and still is comfortable because its such a nice car. It just depends on how large the other passengers are. Its worth every penny.

It was a perfect leather, very comfy to relax on and also the car was a very steady car. I painted my car from white to black just to make it look better because I liked the color. The passenger quality is phenomenal. Everyone who got in the car was very relaxed because the seats were perfect and no one gave a negative comment. Cadillac is a really good type of car to own.

In Oct. 2009 I took my 2007 SRX in for engine light check/repair. In Nov 2009 I brought it in for 5 times, twice for December 2009, once on Jan. 2010, once in Feb. 2010, Mar. 2010, April 2010, Sept. 2010, Oct. 2010, twice in Nov. 2010, once in Dec 2010, and once in Jan. 2011. There are many more that I dont have a repair order detail for. The SRX was in the Miller (now Baker) service shop, most of 2011. At times, when the light would appear, I would stop in, and the service adviser would clear it, if it was the same codes. No repair order appeared. At present, the check engine light is on, and has been on since early Dec. 2011. I was told to drive it.During 2011, Leo from Cadillac customer service would frequently contact me. I gave him an update, but I saw no action to help resolve this repetitive problem. The district rep, Tom **, is not willing to work with me, and is thwarting any resolution. He is certainly staining the Cadillac reputation. Who is his boss? I want resolution! Is this the quality automobile that Cadillac advertises?

I have a 2006 Cadillac SRX. Its been a bottomless pit for ongoing repairs... Purchased with under 40K miles ... problems started immediately Within a month, CD player started not functioning properly (has Nav). Brought to the dealer. Repair: R + R head unit... cost $2500 + labor $2500...? You can buy a hell of a home stereo for a lot less!! All it needed was to have the laser aligned and it was replaced with some other unit from Cadillac (remember R & R no actual fixing here) so someone else has my used $2500 player that probably took about 2 minutes to realign the laser... What was I expecting for $2500?Very quickly found that the car uses a quart of oil about every 1000... Do you want to hear what the Cadillac tech told me when I asked him what should I do? He said, I recommend keeping a case of oil in the back - nice. The cars original sticker was $55K. The steering rack at 40K started to leak... R & R 1000 bucks later... brought home. Next morning, the AC Delco unit they put in leaked worse. They replaced it... Does that mean it was free?At 60K, the right front wheel bearings at $450. I cant tell you how many times Ive had to replace the right front directional at $125. Now I use my fist with a good glove and bash the directional and at least for a while it comes back on (Cadillac glove) - saves a few $100 every year. About 80K, the left front wheel bearing replaced... another $450 repair. Did you know some places on the road get almost $10 for a quart of synthetic Mobil One? Is that synthetic or pathetic? I lost track of how many quarts Ive added in 4 years...I actually had a pretty good stretch for awhile until last week... just turned 100k... Seems the timing chain loosened up, slipped a couple of teeth, valve spring broke, bent a valve and put a hole in the valve cover. $55K and the motor cant go 100K without detonating... As I write, the motor is apart waiting for GM parts (Please...cant we use some aftermarket parts instead?) This bill ought to be a whopper! Ive spent more money on this car for maintenance than the last 10 cars I have owned. Buy American? Buy GM? NEVER AGAIN.

I purchased the 2015 Cadillac Escalade SUV before it came out. I purchased it in Aug. of 2014. I was so happy to be one of the only people in my area to drive the new model Cadillac Escalade. Everything was going great until I noticed the transmission slipping when I hit the gas. I took it into the nearby Cadillac dealer in Burlingame CA. They are called PUTNAM Cadillac. I pulled up to the service line. After I told them I was having issues with transmission. They told me to wait. I waited 20-30 mins later ask what happened. They told me, You didnt buy your car from us so just keep quiet and wait until we are ready to help you. Wow this was a shock to me. I couldnt believe a big brand company would say something like this. They kept my care for a 1-2 weeks and told me the slipping is normal. I had no choice but to believe them. I am not a mechanic but Im sure I know when a transmission slips. Anyway I took off. Also the navigation was freezing and the steps were not working properly. They also replaced the electrical harness said it was bad. Then 1 month later the steering started clicking. Long story short after 4 visits to the same dealer. They ended up replacing the complete steering console. NOT SURE WHY THEY WOULD HAVE LET ME DRIVE. MY FAMILY AROUND ALL THIS TIME IF THEY KNOW THE PROBLEM COULDNT GET FIXED. I could have gotten in a accident and took my family with me.Since I purchased this car for the family. After all the problems I had to buy my wife a minivan (while still paying for the Cadillac payments) because she didnt feel safe in the Cadillac. She didnt even let me take the kids anywhere. So I ended up purchasing a truck so I could safely drive my kids around and not loss my marriage over the Cadillac. After they replaced the steering console the clicking went away but now the steering console is loose. Wow what the hell is going on here. If this is not a lemon vehicle then I dont know what is. I just got off the phone with Cadillacs rep. They said, What do you want?. I told them I want my money bad at the least (minus any wear and tear. Im a very fair person, but I dont want to be taken advantage of.). They said That is impossible, but we will forward your info to the higher ranked people in GM. So I will wait to hear from them and see what they say. I will keep this review updated every time I speak to them so everybody will know how it is to deal with a lemon vehicle with GM.

I have owned 5 Cadillacs in the past and have been driving them from 1996 on. The last GM vehicles a 2015 GMC Canyon (shifting issues, Recalls), 2017 GMC Sierra Denali HD Duramax (headliner rattle, faulty fuel cap, recalls,) and our 2014 Cadillac ATS (recalls, broken rims, rear differential vibration and leak, and now a shattered CUE Screen at 36971 miles. I am glad someone FORCES GM to fix the known safety issues through recalls, but the only recourse on the non safety GM KNOWN PROBLEMS is simply not to buy GM products. And as far as Cadillac goes, that recourse seems to be working as seen in the decline in Cadillac sales over the years. I just cannot understand who at GM is setting policy of not fixing known defects while at the same time advertise family and loyalty.

I have a 2005 Cadillac CTS 3.6L engine with less than 87,000 miles on it. About 2 weeks ago, a screw had somehow backed itself out of one of the gears and caused major damage to my vehicle. The valve cover is shredded, cracked cylinder head and a piece broke off the cast iron timing chain cover. I reported it to Cadillac in hope of them standing by their product and customer loyalty and in turn they have said its not covered under the powertrain warranty. At Cadillacs request, I had the car towed to Don Massey Cadillac because they were supposed to have a reputation for good customer service. That is very wrong. They took almost 5 days to look at my car and give a diagnosis. Now the mechanic that is going to fix the car is on vacation and has three weeks of work before he could get to my car. If the dealership would have looked at the car in a timely manner the mechanic could have looked at it sooner and at least got the parts ordered. I am now going to be at least another month without my car because Cadillac wasted my time. I will NEVER buy another Cadillac or GM product. This car has never been abused or had modifications done to it. Every oil change has had synthetic oil put into it. I am very dissatisfied with the Cadillac brand of luxury. 2010 SRX Cadillac had wet rugs in back floor. Had repairs made to leaking sunroof, water also corroded back hatch lift... Replacement made ($1300). Next week engine problems... Car towed to dealer... Now water damage has shorted out, ruined fuel injection, plus whatever is controlled by module under front seat... GM knew the sunroof failure was a possibility but did not send any warning to customer so the roof could be checked occasionally. This failure of roof hoses, which Cadillac knew was possible has cost me, up to 6/24/17, over $3000. The dealer should have checked all areas that could have water damage the first time the car was in for sunroof repair. We purchased a new 2016 Cadillac XTS4 in September 2015 from Cadillac Deale
We purchased a new 2016 Cadillac XTS4 in September 2015 from Cadillac Dealer Taylor Automotive in Toledo, OH. My wife is the primary driver and she drives only 4,000 to 5,000 miles per year. A few months after the purchase the battery was dead after not being driven for only 7 days. The salesman then advised us that the amount of electronic devices in the vehicle will drain the battery in a week or less. Even though he was aware of my wifes minimal driving, no mention of the inadequate battery support system in the vehicle was made until our first dead battery experience. It has occurred 5 times since it was purchased. This means that we must carry a jump start battery pack inside the car (not the trunk) and a tool to remove the key lock cover from the drivers door just to get access to the interior to pop the hood in order to do the jump start. When leaving the vehicle at an airport for a one week or longer trip, you can be assured that the car will require a jump start. How could General Motors have done such a poor, incomplete, inadequate engineering job on what they classify as a luxury vehicle for which we paid over $50,000.00? We are looking into the Lemon Laws in OH and we will pursue Legal Action if General Motors fails to correct this problem which is certainly causing many Cadillac owners the same problem. There are many other true Luxury vehicles on the market that do not have this problem because the engineering departments of those car companies figured a way to cut current drain while the vehicle is not being driven or they provided a battery electrical system that is designed to support normal vehicle operation without starting the vehicle every few days just to keep the battery charged. This problem should not exist in any automobile, much less one that represents General Motors top line brand and in this case the largest and most expensive sedan vehicle. I would caution anyone considering the purchase of any new Cadillac vehicle to question the dealer extensively and make sure the car you purchase or lease doesnt have this inherit problem. Even if you are a long term Cadillac driver you should look seriously at other Luxury Vehicle options.

Cadillac had a lot of selections of cars to choose from. I was really impressed with the amount of inventory they could fit in a showroom. They have good sales people, too. They will let you upgrade the heck out of the car just as long as you have the money for them. You can do it all if you want to spend. I knew the car was upgraded but the features were great and I could not believe it had so many different bells and whistles. You can also fit a lot of things and people in this car. It is quite roomy.

Lights come on all by itself. Had to disconnect battery. Dealership said I needed a module, I think that is what it was called. 1,900.00.. Kept car for 2 months. Whenever it would rain hard, my car would flood with water in the back floor board.. Now my car can sit for 2 days and I drive it, and make my stops 5 or 6 stops, get into car and car wont start, need a jump. Happened 2 times in 2 weeks. At 70,000 miles I needed a new engine. I can go on and on about the brand new Cadillac CTS that I bought brand new in 2003. I will never buy another Cadillac as long as I live. And this is just some of the problems that I have had. I havent even listed all of them. Car seat wouldnt go forward for 1 month, then it would. Gas hand would work and then it wouldnt. I honestly think that if you can call Onstar and they open your door for you, then they can do things to your car to make you bring it into the dealership. That is what I think. A 40,000.00 car you wouldnt think would give you so many problems, but I have learned my lesson. And they just called me yesterday to get me to try and trade it in for another Cadillac, Ha!!!

I have owned my 2006 DTS for 3 years. I bought it used with 51,000 miles. It now has 142,000. The car is very comfortable to drive and ride in. I love all of the luxury features such as automatic high beams, memory seats, remote start, and XM radio. I had a roomy trunk and quiet interior. It gets between 21 and 23 mpg pretty consistently on regular unleaded. What I dont like about it is how often it needs repairs. Around 70,000 miles, I had to have the entire front suspension system essentially rebuilt, as tie rods, ball joints, and struts were worn out. I developed several oil leaks, and I have stopped trying to get those fixed. Changing front turn signal bulbs and headlights requires the front bumper be removed. Parts seem expensive. I plan to keep it for another couple of years. I doubt that I will be replacing it with another Cadillac.

My wife and I recently rented a 2017 Cadillac XTS. We wanted to try it out before we bought one. Immediately after starting out we tried to use the CUE system and discovered that it is dangerous to use as it is totally distracting and takes your eyes off the road. It is very difficult to use the controls and activate them. I tried to plug my iPod in and it immediately froze up the system. It was extremely difficult to activate the A/C, heating and radio, stereo controls. This system is a complete failure and a deathtrap as it is dangerous to use. I hear as well that they are very prone to failure and not covered under the radio type warranty. What a failure for a car like a Cadillac where a person lays out high multi thousands of dollars. Cadillac needs to dump this system and replace it with one that this car should have. How disappointing. The car itself had adequate power but rode no better, braked no better or did it handle on curves and straight a ways any better than my 2010 Terrain. The seats were hard and uncomfortable on a long trip. As well the transmission did not do anything better than my 2010 Terrain. I expected a lot lot more from a Cadillac especially for the asking price but the car and the company did not deliver. Cadillac is asking way to much for this car and it does not deliver In conclusion we will not be buying any Cadillac of any kind and have decided to go with an Audi. We DO NOT recommend a Cadillac of any kind to any one.

What they had then and what they have now are different. A Cadillac no matter what model is a prime car at that time and very dependable. You cant go wrong with one. This was my 1st car in 1962. It had a sleek body style with sort of mud flaps called wings which clipped on the back tires. It had everything the cadillac had to offer. Radio, heat, air which was about it back then. The car had both a front and a back full bench seat that would ride 6 to 8, very comfortable and has plenty of leg room.

Red cars are the best. Has a nice big stereo. However, it will need a lot of work like nicer, better, big wheels, more windows, and a different color would be nice and a better stereo, long distance and more miles. The miles could be better with more room for a bigger family. But the capacity of this car is good. It was really good experience.

First, I will start by saying that I LOVE my car...and this has been my 3rd Cadillac that I have owned...but I guarantee that it will be my LAST! I have a 2013 Cadillac ATS and as of last August (2017), the CUE System stopped responding to touch on the screen. Therefore, like thousands of others out there...I am unable to use the airflow controls (feet, face, etc) as well as the Navigation because you have to confirm your location ON THE SCREEN which will not work! Of course this conveniently stopped working just after the warranty expired on the vehicle. Of course the only option is to have the CUE system/screen replaced at a lovely price of $1,200-$1,500 and that alone is not a guaranteed fix. I have seen so many comments from other owners who have replaced this 2-3 times for it to only continue to FAIL!!! There are thousands of vehicles out there with this exact same issue yet GM has done absolutely nothing!!! Youre a huge corporation... Stand behind it, take care of the problem and maybe you will retain your loyal consumers. Do nothing and you will inevitably lose them.

It’s safe, the brake alerts so you don’t get yourself in an accident when you can’t see other drivers on the side and when the car in front stops. The GPS system tells you where you’re going and talks to you when you make a mistake. It can fit nine people comfortably with lots of legroom. I purchased a 2010 Cadillac SRX in December of 2009. Four years later, the cars hood had bubbling of paint where the aluminum meets the paint on the hood. I watched it increase for 2 years and to prevent any rust from forming took it to Perfect Ten Auto Collision to have it repaired. Then I heard about this happening because Cadillac had used a lower grade aluminum around the hood that butts up to the hood paint. It cost me $789.61 to have this fixed. I would just like to know if Cadillac is responsible in any way for the damage?

I purchased a 2013 Cadillac ATS in 2014 with 11,000 miles on it. I wish I had read about the problems with the Cue system freezing up. I now have that problem, mine is frozen. I called Cadillac and complained about it, case # ** and asked if there was any recalls on this. I spoke to Ashley on 1/17/18 and she said that I should take it to the local dealer to see what the problem is. I told her that I did not want to pay 100.00 for someone to tell me that it needs replacing. Ashley told me that I may get some help from Cadillac to replace the unit. I dropped the car off on 1/25/18 for my 10am appointment, it took all day for the dealer to look at the car and in the end they told me that it needed to be replaced at a cost of 1479.00 and gave me a bill for 143.81.1/29/18 Spoke to Ashley at Cadillac and told her what transpired and told her I was not happy. Ashley said that she would look into it and get back to me within 72 hours. On 2/6/18 I finally received a call from Ashley at 10:31am at the time I could not talk and that I would call her back in an hour or two. I called back at 12:26pm left message to call me. On 02/7/18 Ashley called back and told me there is nothing they will do for me. Beware of obstacle to knees, causing personal injury upon entering and exiting the driver seat of an XTS. I have injured my knees twice and it is a bad painful abrasion. There is a protrusion above the speaker on the door liner where it integrates with the dashboard once door is closed. The injury is complicated by the dynamic force in which you enter and exit a car. Cadillac should clear the space allowing for swiveling leg rotation. Cadillac needs to protect its drivers and correct this design flaw. Yours truly, sore knees

I walked away with just a scratch on my finger. Caddy saved me! So I found another one, had to do some maintenance to it (Battery, radiator & transmission flushed, alignments and tires balanced! Wanted that done whether it was needed or not), it runs great! Comfortable ride, quite and the V6 performs close to a V8. Its a luxury model! The AWD is great in snow/ice or rain. I recently bought a USED Escalade, but I was smart enough to buy a warranty
I recently bought a USED Escalade, but I was smart enough to buy a warranty. Unfortunately, after 3,000 miles, the check engine light came on and it had low oil pressure due to worn cam bearings. When I brought it to Cadillac, I found out it happened to also be certified, which was great because not only do I have my warranty, but it is warranties through Cadillac. Now, I know my vehicle has only 53,000 miles on it, but I cant blame Cadillac for this problem. I blame the previous owners for not maintaining this vehicle. I also own an Automotive Service Center, but because of my warranty, I did have to bring it to Cadillac, and there is no way the selling dealer would have known this was going to happen when selling the vehicle. This is why I purchased a warranty. No matter how new a vehicle is, when you buy a used vehicle, you never know how it has been maintained. So for the guy that bought his car in Naperville and drove to Tennessee, you bought a used vehicle. Shame on you for not having it inspected! Yes, they were deceptive, but how can you blame Cadillac. All vehicles, whether they are American or foreign, have their own distinct issues. For instance, Honda Odyssey. I have heard from many of my customer that they had to have their transmissions replaced. Chrysler use to have problems with their transmissions. GM 3.1 liter intake manifolds leak coolant and oil. There is a technical service bulletin in which you have to take the engine out of the Toyota Avalon to change the timing chain and guides at around $4,000.My point is that vehicles are lasting much longer than they ever use to, as they should with all of the technology. The key is to maintaining your vehicle and stay on top of them when they fail. Granted if your vehicle is within 1 to 3 years and there is a serious problem, but come on after 4 to 5 years, things are going to start failing. One of my biggest complaints with the automotive manufacturers, like the gentleman with the broken window stated, is that his glass is on back order. I find that either parts are on 5 to 6 month back order, or in some case, they discontinue parts after 7 to 8 years, sometimes less. Some of the parts are not available aftermarket, which just leads me to believe they just dont want their vehicles to last so you have to purchase a new one.

I bought my 2013 SRX in 2014 and it had 12000 miles on it. The transmission shifts so hard, GM says this is normal. I dont think so. They had a recall on it, but I cant tell a difference. My cue screen quit working at 61k miles. Just over factory warranty. Dealership told me it would be at least 1200.00 to fix it, I opted to go without. Fast forward 6 months. My front left tire will not hold air, its a brand new tire. Come to find out, my rim has corroded and will not seal to the tire. Eventually, this happened with all 4 tires. Meanwhile, my cue screen has started cracking on the inside. I dont even use the cue module because it doesnt work. Dealership said it cracked because of the heat. I end up with a flat tire at end of my driveway, I go to change it, no spare, no donut. Just a can of fix a flat type stuff. I call dealership, they tell me to call roadside assistance. Seriously? I find out from the internet that I can order the cue replacement screen on Amazon for 80 bucks. I did. Then I took it to a local mechanic and had them install it for me. Cost me 130 bucks to have it installed. Beats the hell out of the minimum of 1200 for Cadillac. They try telling you the whole unit needs replaced. They take it, slap a new screen on it and sell it as refurbished. Crooks! So after buying new rims and an aftermarket screen and dealing with a hard shifting car, Im at 91k miles at this point, I get in my car to leave work and the ac stopped working. Took it to my fave local mechanic. He tries to fix it but apparently it is a sensor that has to be fixed by a gm dealer so it can be reprogrammed. Of course it does! To sum it all up, the Cadillac looks nice, the electronics quality is definitely lacking, and Cadillac does not stand behind their product. I will never buy another gm product again. My money will go back to Nissan.

I am a victim of bad work performed on my vehicle by the service department
I am a victim of bad work performed on my vehicle by the service department, unethical car service practices and unheard-of customer resolution at Suburban Cadillac Plymouth, 40475 Ann Arbor Rd., Plymouth MI. I took my car in for service on 6/2/17 and the dealership had my car for over 2 months which caused me great concern. I researched the Timing Change job that was being done and learned it was a very tedious job. When I finally received my vehicle, cost $3111.01 which my warranty covered 100% but $750.00 was rolled over to me due to dealership not accepting $70 per hour labor cost and I had to make up difference. The next day while heading to work I noticed my XM Satellite radio wasn’t working. I called my Cadillac representative, ** to report the issue. He stated, “I’m sorry to hear that but that has nothing to do with the work that was done on your car and there are no loaner cars available at the time, you can schedule a loaner car but know this will be a separate issue/charge.” I explained these things were working prior to car repair and please have techs go over their work. It could have been the way they re-assembled things back together that obviously effected something else. My rep ** states to bring it in but understand no dealership responsibility and expect new charges.Upon arrival I ask to speak with the service director, **. He appeared friendly and sympathetic to what had happened to my car but agreed with his rep, **. When I ask ** to speak with someone higher up he declined and stated he is the only one that can assist. I insisted and he left the office briefly and returned with a business card of a manager under him. I was insulted and felt disrespected with the treatment of the team working together against me, the customer. He had me sign papers agreeing to check the vehicle for 130.00 fee. He gave me a loaner car and said, “Have a nice day. We will call you.”I received the call maybe a week and half later with ** asking for permission for a tech to drive my car home to ensure engine light doesn’t come back on. It is determined pass 50 miles, I gave consent. The next week ** called to say they have an estimate for my car. “The radio needs replacing cost $1600.00 because Sirius Radio stated the issue is not on their end, and by the way, while your car was being test driven something pertaining to the brakes collapsed and that will cost you $700, your total bill $2500.00 warranty doesn’t cover nor the dealership. The remainder covers the engine light and lockout issue. Let us know how you would like to proceed.”At this point I felt raped by these unheard-of business practices and called in later in an effort to reach a higher up. I left several messages on ** phone but received no call back. I was passed around the dealership and sent to voicemails with no return calls after leaving a couple messages. Much happened in between that revealed their dishonesty and how they worked together to ensure I didn’t speak with someone in authority to attend to this matter.I picked my car up today 10/3/17 paying 751.00 for the brake collapsed incident that happened while at dealership. Of course, my satellite radio still not functioning due to me declining to pay 1600.00 for a problem that occurred with them working on my car. And my computer system is now out of whack; voice commands no longer working, cd player not working, sound system poor sounding. I could have taken my car to a non-Cadillac qualified mechanic but felt Cadillac was top of line service. I am sick about the condition my car is now in. A couple of similar unethical instances happened to me within the past 2 years but were resolved satisfactorily via escalation so I continued to do business with this location but with this last instance and seeing this is a trend and now their normal practices, it’s clear I need to get the attention of someone who cares about the bottom line of the company. What Im asking for is the dealership take ownership for their work which is the right thing to do -- refund my money for the incident that occurred while they had my car (mechanic took my car home) and put my car back in the condition it arrived in, working satellite radio (which I’m paying monthly services for) and reset or adjust my computer system. Voice commands no longer work. All inside controls and functions were working perfectly prior to the major repair done on my vehicle. The work they performed had nothing to do with these issues but obviously the way they reassembled my vehicle affected these things. They tore my engine down; kept my car 2 1/2 months, something obviously went wrong.Suburban Cadillac is using dealership mechanical lingo and rhetoric to mask what really happened and it is extremely frustrating that they have charged me 3111.00 plus 750.00 within 30-days to return my car to me out of whack and satellite radio not working. The radio is fine but the XM Satellite whom I’m paying monthly subscription is no longer working after car pickup. I filed a complaint with GM website, mailed a letter to corporate and spoke with someone finally at GM Customer Care on 10/17/17. They stated they spoke with Suburban Cadillac and must believe the experts and it’s nothing they can do. She was young and appeared insincere and indifferent to what had happened to me. She spoke very fast as if reading from a script and closed the matter. So now I’m reaching out to Better Business Bureau and the State Attorney General because the dealership has taken my money and left my vehicle with problems and no repair shop wants to go behind their work. Respectfully, Ripped-Off Customer.
