Ram Automobile Troubleshooting

If you're looking for help fixing your Ram Automobile, look no further! Our comprehensive Ram Automobile Troubleshooting guide will explain common issues, provide tips, and show you how to read your model's error codes.

Flat Tire
Although it is common for a tire to deflate over time, most tires become flat after being punctured by an object such as a nail. Most punctures can be fixed with a tire repair kit or patch, but large punctures or slashes generally warrant a tire replacement. However, it’s also possible for simple wear and tear to be the main cause of a flat tire. To help extend the lifespan of your tires, be sure to keep them properly rotated. We recommend that you rotate your tires every 5,000 miles (or every time you get an engine oil change) to help prevent unnecessary tire wear and tear.

Broken Starter Motor
The starter motor is the device responsible for cranking your engine to initiate power. When the starting motor fails, it’s usually because the electrical solenoid has been damaged, the starter motor is simply broken, or another electrical fault occurs. Although a starter can be replaced before it breaks, it’s difficult to predict when this will happen. For that reason, if you begin to experience any symptoms of a bad starter like it sounds different than normal or is taking several cranks to start, we recommend having a mechanic inspect your car starter to help determine the problem before assuming the starter needs to be replaced.

Oil Warning Light is On
An oil warning light is one of the most serious car problems you’ll ever encounter. When the light (or oil icon) comes on, you should immediately pull over and shut off your engine. The low-pressure warning light can be mean you’ve got a bad oil pressure sensor, bum oil pump, or a significant engine wear problem. But it can also mean that you’ve simply run out of oil. You can check your oil level right there on the side of the road.

Overheating
You might suspect overheating to be higher on this list, but in reality, it occurs rarely. In most modern cars, the cooling system is very complex, containing multiple sensors that monitor coolant temperature, flow, and other components. Staying on top of radiator flush services and changing the water pump before it breaks are two easy ways to reduce the potential for overheating issues.

Fix a Squealing Belt
Of all the car problems you might encounter, a squealing belt is probably the most annoying. The high-pitched squeal is produced when the rubber belt loses its grip and slips around the pulleys. In rare cases, a worn slow-moving alternator, pump, or AC compressor bearing or component misalignment can cause a perfectly good belt to squeal. But in most cases, the belt slips because it’s worn, is loose, or has been contaminated with oil or coolant. You can diagnose all those problems yourself with a visual inspection, a belt wear gauge, and a spray water bottle.

Worn Brake Pads or Squeaky Brakes
If you ever hear a squeaking or high-pitched squealing sound coming from your brakes, it is likely that your brake pads are either dirty and need to be cleaned or worn down and need to be replaced. But don’t be alarmed, this is a pretty common car issue especially with older vehicles. The brake system is intended to wear out over time with use – some quicker than others depending on how often they are used. Given your vehicle’s brakes are vital to ensure you can safely stop, if you notice any symptoms of worn brake pads, like squealing, squeaking, or a soft brake pedal, you should have it inspected by a professional mechanic as soon as possible for brake repairs if needed.

Poor Fuel Economy
When the engine is running efficiently, it burns fuel at a rate that helps improve fuel economy. However, several fuel system parts like fuel filters, air filters, mass airflow sensors, and O2 sensors will eventually get dirty or wear out. If this happens before they are replaced, it will cause the engine to consume more fuel than usual. Again, being proactive about routine servicing provides the solution.

Dead Battery
Most car batteries should last about three years or 50,000 miles. A dead battery is usually caused by reduced amps – or electrical currents – which naturally decrease as the battery loses its ability to maintain a charge. A damaged alternator, battery temperature sensor, or other charging system components can expedite this issue. It’s best to replace your car battery every 50,000 miles or three years, even if it’s not showing signs of damage.

This 2015 Ram makes the third new Ram for me. That being said the third was not the charm. My first was a 2006 Ram 2500 which was a good truck. A lot of recalls but all in all good truck traded with 50,000 miles. Second one was a 2011 3500 mega cab. Dual climate control was out when I drove it off the lot. 10 to 12 mpg which was bad. Third brake light and sun roof leaked, dash rattled 24/7 and 4wd would not work half the time. Really disappointed in that truck traded with 19,000 miles. So I bought my third truck which is the 2015 ram 2500. This truck is so weak Id rather pull with a 1500 and the transmission slips for the first 1/8 mile in morning. Truck now has 9000 miles. So in my opinion Im done with Ram trucks. As soon as I can trade this truck its gone. Take this review how you like. This is just my experience with Ram trucks.

The timing chain broke on my 2007 Ram 1500 4x4 5.7L hemi engine with 53,000
The timing chain broke on my 2007 Ram 1500 4x4 5.7L hemi engine with 53,000 miles. After an internal inspection, it appeared as if the timing chain tensioner was to blame. It is a stamped metal piece with plastic runner clipped onto it to keep the timing chain tight. Well, it look as if these plastic pieces failed causing the timing chain to grab the metal on the tensioner and rip it apart snapping the chain and locking up the engine. My vehicle is no longer under factory warranty. But I still contacted Dodge and they say that there is no warranty and that I must take it to the dealer for them to look at it and that any repair would be a Goodwill Repair. I explained to them that I do not have the monetary means to have the vehicle towed to Dodge inspected and then towed home again when they tell me there is no warranty. I still owe more than $21,000.00 on the truck and can’t drive it. What am I to do?

The Ram 2500 Alpine radio is great! Way better than the GMC boise system (no highs no lows must be Boise) you heard the saying. Also power and towing are great on the Ram. I have 60,000 miles now and I am wondering why I bought the lifetime warranty. The only thing that has happened is I bought a Dcx tuner from a company online and it locked up the ecm and had to buy a new one because they knew I tried to install it and that obviously would not be covered under warranty. When I get oil changes we laugh about it now. I also like the seats, dash, the way the Taylor hooks up makes sense not like the GM who does not think about the ergonomic when they build a truck. Theirs is more like a car a crapy car. Also the GM is so quiet that I almost got t-boned by a ambulance. The suspension is so loose it feels like you can flip over if you turned hard. Its just not a real truck. Now Im not saying I dont like frills. My Ram has heated and cooled seats, front and back sunroof, all the frills the GM has and they work better. The GM people are rude, slick like an old TV car salesman. The Ram dealerships are normal regular people. Ram 5 stars, GM 0. Mad GM took the bailout your money you pay out of your check every week not tax money, your money.

My engine on my 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 Ecodiesel 3.0L seized at 14K miles... Towed to Dodge in Yuba City, Ca. They charged me $1200 plus, to tell me that is my fault and water went into the engine by opening the pan!!! No water went, they are full of it... I am getting the second opinion at the Machine shop. I spoke to the owner, and he will give me the exact cause by opening the engine apart.

I purchased my 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 truck in 2013 and initially didnt have any issues. The first issue happened in June of this year. After having towed nothing the first 2 years, I purchased a 44 RV. After the second tow, a trip to Louisiana, the engine began to bog down on me and lose power. I took it in to the dealer to get it checked out and they hit me with a $2,000 estimate for repairs. Said the EGR valve was bad ($799 for part) and needed to be replaced. They also said a front ABS wheel sensor was bad and needed to be replaced as well. Guess what, my warranty didnt cover one cent of the repairs. They said this wasnt covered in the warranty. Go Figure! Well now I have a bad taste in my mouth for having to dish out so much money. Ive always wanted to own a dually and found that the Dodge was more affordable to me. Anyway, I chalked it up as a loss and moved on. That is, until now that I have gotten a Perform Service Soon light on my dash. After consulting my owners manual, it says I need to take it in to get emissions maintenance performed. Emissions/EGR Valve....Do you see where Im going with this? So I call the dealer and ask for cost. For starters, it will cost me $110/hr. to just check out the problem. Ive owned several Nissan vehicles and let me tell you, it never costs me a cent for them to troubleshoot any problems that I have. Also, I have never paid over $200 for any issue with them. They cover almost everything and better yet their vehicles rarely break down. At least the ones I have owned havent, thanks to God! Anyway, I think I am about to trade my Dodge in for a Chevy or Ford. I wont be able to afford paying Dodge for all the high repair costs and maintain payments at the same time. I really wish Nissan would come out with a ton pick up!!

Our 2009 Dodge Ram truck is sitting in the driveway and it is useless. It only has 130,000 miles. We have had it in for numerous repairs and we still have a useless truck that has no power. There is also a recall on a front end part and we still have never been able to get in for the repair. There is now a recall on the recall. Please do not buy a Dodge truck of any kind. Especially, do not buy from Love Chrysler in Alice, Texas. They could never fix your truck but they could keep sure could find something wrong with it. We spent over $20,000 on repairs and finally just went and bought a new Ford Truck. We will never ever step inside a Dodge Chrysler Dealership again to buy a car or truck. Why cant all of us who have been sold lemons band together and make Dodge Chrysler stand behind their repairs.

Own a 2005 DodgeRam One ton Mega cab diesel. Truck is stuck in the middle of my driveway, cannot be removed from park. Need a simple $75 part, the shifter cable that I have been told have been on back order since June 2015. I have logged 91 hours on the phone with salvage yards and Dodge stealerships. No reimbursement for 2 months for a rental truck. I am paying $600 a month for a truck I cannot remove from drive. No expectation date, no explanation as to why the long wait and NO apologies made by Dodge what so ever. There are 1244 on back order. How is this not a recall item? Always been a Dodge/Jeep fan. Maybe not so much after this experience. We shall see how much longer we will have to wait to get this part that is notoriously faulty. Forums for days and days on the matter and many people displeased. Considering gathering this info and trying to talk to people about getting enough of us together on these forums to start a class action suit. This is our work truck. Dodge has shut us and many others down. Very discouraged!

I bought this Dodge ram 1500 2014 new and drove it for less than two years
I bought this Dodge ram 1500 2014 new and drove it for less than two years before the bumper started rusting, but because I put so many miles on it (40,000) it was not covered under the warranty. The tires needed replacing at around 25,000 miles. Had to replace an airbag sensor for over $500. Had to replace the fuel gauge sensor that is located in the fuel pump in the gas tank, that cost around $350. Had to take it in and have exhaust manifold bolts replace but that was covered under the 100,000 mile manufacturer warranty. They also replaced the right front axle because that was loose with play. Also covered under the warranty luckily. I have it in the shop right now and they believe the camshaft is bad which is covered under the 100,000 mile warranty also. The truck has 92000 miles on it and is 3 years old this month. I have decided I will sell it before it turns 100,000 miles and buy maybe a Tundra or a Chevy but certainly not another Dodge. This was my second and I love my first one but this one drove me over the edge. I will also look for a dealer who seems concerned with my wants and needs. I do have to say I love the look of the Dodge truck. Mine is dark graphite gray with custom rims and its beautiful but I should have purchased stock in their check engine light because it never turns off.

We purchased this vehicle brand new in 2011. We love the truck and have never had any issues with it except for the paint chipping off and its rusting already at 4 years old. At approximately a year old we noticed a random chip above one of the headlights. You can tell it bubbled up and chipped off. The damage was not from a rock or an accident. We now have 2 different rust spots. One is on the end gate coming out from the dodge emblem and the other is right above the windshield. Like I stated, love the truck but am very disappointed in the quality of the paint!!

Purchased 2019 RAM 3500 DRW Limited HD High Output Cummins with Aisin Transmission in April 2019 - one of the first deliveries of said truck. In August 2019 (approx 16k miles) Left Front Speed Sensor was replaced as it was throwing error messages - FCW system unavailable, service immediately; 4wd Temporarily unavailable, service immediately; Electronic Stabilization Control unavailable, service required; Trailer brake system service required; ABS service required.2 weeks later, same error messages, and ABS module was replaced. 2 weeks later, same error messages, dealership cleared codes and could not replicate. Went on 1600+ mile road trip. Returned home, 13 days after last visit to dealership, same error messages. As of today, dealership says cannot replicate - currently truck is on day 7 at dealership for 4th visit. Chrysler says maybe software update needed. ANYONE out there with challenges on 2019 RAM HDs? IMO, this is unacceptable. I just want it fixed.

Warranty Service: My 2011 Dodge Truck (VIN **) was taken to Crown Dodge, initially, for a shimmy at 70MPH (on cruise control). The problem was noticed when I decreased my average speed from 75MPH to 70MPH to save gas. The problem exists when ascending/descending long hill. The truck was taken to Crown Dodge 4 times; each time, something was done to correct the fault. However, after being told it was fixed, I drove it home on the I-44 turnpike, and the situation each time was the same. The final analysis was that it is the nature of the beast - that engine has such torque. A local independent repair facility assured me it was not the U-Joints. I took the truck to Central Oklahoma Dodge yesterday and gave the information above. Today, they tell me (Mark) that they cannot duplicate the problem. He (Mark) is going to take the truck on the freeway tomorrow to try to duplicate the problem. My question is, what if he duplicates the problem? Then what? If it is the nature of the beast, nothing can be done. I am unable/unwilling to drive a vehicle with a known problem. I converted to Dodge from Chevy/Ford at the suggestion of my close friend. This is my second Dodge. Please advise soonest. (I am unable to talk on the phone due to Cochlear implant. If you need me to call you, I have to use my CapTel phone.) Thank you.

I purchased a 2014 Dodge Ram Laramie with a Cummins turbo diesel. The truck had 37,000 miles. A strong selling point was the 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. At 40,000 miles, and three days after the first $700 payment the motor blew all the oil out locked up. The dealership would not even have it towed. It has sat on their back lot for two weeks and they cant even tell me whats wrong with it. I have a 14 Ram 3500 driving out of town. My water pump came apart and put the fan into the radiator. Ok no big worries stuff happens. Called roadside assistance, they were very helpful. The problem was when I actually got to the dealership. Service advisor told me that they couldnt even look at it for three days. I asked about a rental, and they told me that I would have to pay out of pocket until they could look at it to determine if it was covered under warranty. I explained my situation on how I was stranded three hours from home. The service advisor was incredibly rude didnt even want to let someone spend 10 min to authorize a rental. So now I am out a hotel room and fuel for my wife to make a 440 round trip to come pick me up and another 440 miles to go get it whenever they get around to it. I understand they have their scheduled vehicles but I think a little consideration should be given for situations like mine when people are stranded away from home.

Just bought my truck two months ago, only made three payments so far and its the super basic model, no bells, no whistles. When we first took the test drive there was upper ticking (which still happens from time to time upon start-up) in the motor and the salesman said it hasnt been started in a while but would make sure it was fixed. Then the first time I ever switched it into 4wd it made horrible grinding noises. Took it to the beach and almost got stuck cause the 4wd wouldnt engage properly. Took it back to the dealership to have it looked at and they said it was fine, but of course, it will seem fine on flat pavement cause there is no resistance. At that point, I found out about some recalls that were issued, so I asked for that to be looked into, but there were no parts available and one of the recalls. Chrysler didnt even know what they were going to do about it and I was advised to not drive my truck, yet all the 2015 models were pulled off the lot and werent able to be sold for the same recall. So seeing how my truck was deemed unsafe for my family I asked for a different truck. They wouldnt do anything for me not even get me a loaner car till this issue was figured out. The dealership offered to give me a trade in on another truck, but wouldnt give me what I paid for my truck two months ago and also the trade in would raise my monthly payments. This is complete ** in my eyes how I have had nothing but issues with this truck and all I want is a vehicle that is reliable and safe for my family and not a single person will get me a fair deal on a different truck or something. Im paying 35k for a unsafe vehicle. I cannot wait to be done with Chrysler. This is the very first time I have ever bought a vehicle from a dealership and this whole experience has ruined dealerships for me. Thanks for nothing.

The issues with Ram trucks that people are having must be just from these people on here. Regardless of the Chrysler vehicle, whether it be Dodge Journey, Caliber, SRT Charger, Challenger, Magnum, Dakotas, Stratus, (on my second Hemi Ram), I know people that own/have owned all the above-mentioned vehicles, and besides regular maintenance, zero mechanical issues whatsoever. I myself have owned 2 Rams, and again, NO mechanical issues whatsoever. The only issues Ive had has actually been with cosmetic stuff added to the truck by the dealership after delivery from the factory. The side step bumpers and brackets rusted, and the powder coating was peeling off after only 2200 miles. One Rumble Bee sticker on the box had to be replaced as it was starting to bubble. I took the mud flaps off the dealer put on as they were literally flapping in the wind, rubbing the paint. Oh yes, the radio would have a mind of its own, would sometimes stick on maximum volume, wouldnt shut off, couldnt change stations, nothing. And sometimes wouldnt even turn on. Chrysler had to download new software into the radio. Works great now. Guess what, my Dads friends 2016 Honda Civic (yes Honda) had the exact same problem. The dealership had to download new software into the radio. Works great now. (Yes, a Honda Civic.) Anyone Ive known. Family members as well, anyone Ive known who have had Chrysler vehicles have never had any mechanical issues at all. Just regular maintenance.A buddy of mine, his Magnum went 215,000 miles zero problems. Heck, never even replaced the battery. My first Ram truck went 173,000 miles. Except regular maintenance, zero mechanical issues.Broken exhaust manifold bolts was the only what I considered major issue. (Even though the repair was only $378, taxes in, Canadian dollars to boot as Im in Canada) And the place I had the work done, they told me Chrysler AND GM trucks are prone to exhaust manifold bolts breaking. The service manager told me they do probably 1 a week from both GM and Chrysler. My nephew bought a new Ford Fusion. Sooner rather than later he traded it in, guess what, he was having electrical issues with it. And he thought, before it gets any worse, and runs out of warranty, trade it in. My girlfriends 2012 Mazda (yes Mazda), the torque converter quit on her 2x. Leaving her literally stranded, again, yes Mazda. Japanese. I worked with a guy who had a Miata, THE biggest pile of junk he said he had ever owned. Nothing but problems with it. Guess what people, even the Japanese can make crap vehicles.

Regardless, they performed a reset of the PCM and supposedly updated it to the latest version. Thus far the truck is running, but who knows if this issue will crop up again. In any case, my original rating has to stand as this is outrageous that they will put out into limp mode, on an otherwise perfectly running vehicle, after 200 miles. This will be a VERY short version. My husband and I have always worked, never had help from the government. Never had anything repoed or taken back. This was VERY VERY embarrassing & degrading! Bought our 2007 Dodge one ton truck. In 2010 we got behind on 2-3 payments and was contacting Chrysler each month to try to let them know we would send them money asap (I have all names and dates of all of this). Husband was working in Arkansas and the truck broke down, was told it was the fuel injectors. We had them fixed at the price of $3600. While the truck set at the dealership and we were waiting on our taxes to pay the bill, Chrysler contacted us and said they were repoing the truck. They felt that where the truck was sitting was dangerous and they would pick it up. We paid Chrysler $2025 to catch the bill up in full and take it off the repo list. Why would we pay them that much money if it didnt take it off the list of being picked up? Two weeks later they picked the truck up from the dealership where we had it worked on even AFTER paying the bill in full!!! The dealership was going to take all our personal belongings out of the truck for us but the repo company said not to worry they would do that. The repo company cleans out the truck and drags it to a Texas auction. We hired an attorney so we could get the truck back and continue making payments on it. We did not want it to go to auction then we have to pay that huge difference when it sold while someone else drove the thing around. Then we would have to buy another vehicle for my husband to go to work in. I go to Texas to pick the truck up. It has 3 new dents in it and the mirror is broke! When I pick up the truck in Texas I immediately go to Arkansas to the repo company to pick up my husband’s stuff. The repo company had stolen our GPS, some knives, a NICE pair of jumper cables made out of welding leads and several other things that were in the truck. Im pretty sure the dealership would not have stolen that stuff out of the truck I know that repo company did. Their office was an old house that was really run down and nasty, would not let my kids out of the truck while I was there. The repo company swears there was nothing else in the truck except what I picked up! They lied, Chrysler lied and up to date we have paid about $60,000 all in cashier’s checks. But Chrysler gets to make the rules up as they go along!! No one ever gets on to them or how they conduct business. Once we got the truck back and started making these ridiculous payment of $1270 per month it still breaks down. Still had to pay the $3600 for fuel injectors. The front tire and WHOLE rim fell off while driving down the highway pulling a camper heading to another job. Sparks were flying and it caught on fire. I wish we had no morals we should have let the dang thing burn! That was almost $3000. The thing is always in the shop! For what we have paid out in repairs we could have bought another truck!! Im teaching my kids and anyone who will listen NOT to buy anything from Chrysler!!

My overall experience with my 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Mega Cab is a nightmare! From day one, the truck had a wobble and still does. mind you not this truck was new and now has 30k miles. It has gone through 3 steering boxes, 2 tie-rods, rear end replaced 2 times, 6 radios, windows have scratches all the way down (poor design), u-joints, 5 sets of tires, ball-joints linkage.I havent gotten anywhere, except stress. I suffer from lupus and all this stress is killing me. I am doing lemon law. Chrysler doesnt want to buy it back. Go figure. They dont want it either. (lol) Never again will I buy a Dodge product.

Took my 2012 ram 3500 Dually in for service.. Repair front hubs, bearings, front steering stabilizer, and 4-wheel drive transfer case, alignment... Also to fix the warning lights that keep coming on (Service 4-wheel drive, ABS light and brake light).. Ok so got all this done at Arrigo Dodge in West Palm Beach.. They had the truck for 12 days... Got it back and transfer case making a binding noise, lights are still on, and front end now pulls to the right... Take it back to them and they have it another week.. Pick it up and the lights come on again.. Ok so now I tell the service guy I need to drive to Colorado 1800 miles. Is the truck safe? He said Yes dont worry about the warning lights. Just have it looked at when you get there. If they stay on... Well Im not a mechanic so I drive it there not realizing that the ABS brakes dont work when those lights are on.. And Im pulling a 24-ft trailer... So I get to Florida take it to the Dodge dealer to get it checked out. The dealer checked out the truck... Come to find out the alignment was done wrong which wore the 2 front tires to the core and they put the wrong chain in the transfer case and used the wrong sealant in the transfer case.. The Dodge dealer in FL was contacted by the Dodge dealer in Colorado and this was brought to their attention. And the spec sheets and repair diagnostic was given to the dealer who incorrectly did the work the first time (Arrigo Dodge WPB). The Colorado Dodge dealer said that the dealer who fixed the truck originally should pay for the repairs.. I contacted them several times even speaking to the owner of the Dodge dealer, getting nowhere.. Now Im out 1500 dollars and that is not right.. Let alone I put my family in danger since the Colorado Dodge dealer said there could have been a bad accident due to the repairs.. I think that the original dealer should be liable for the repairs cost... Thats why we take our truck to the dealership to get worked on by certified mechanic.. To be safe and right... Again Im not a mechanic... Thank God nobody got serious hurt on the road... That would be a law suit waiting to happen...

Dodge Ram 1500 2014 6cyl 4x4 purchased new. I had two problems with this truck. 1. Cruse control didnt work all the time. 2. Driver side electric window and door lock controller had to be replaced. These were the only problems I had. The transmission started acting up. Not shifting smoothly and lagging. This started after 80,000 accumulated miles. On the positive side this truck was a joy to drive. Easy to handle. Tracked straight and true in all weather conditions. Comfortable cabin that was quiet with an excellent stock stereo sound system. The electronics were easy to use, especially the blue tooth phone system. I drove this truck for a total of 5 years.

A week ago, on June 25, 2013, I arrived home at 4 pm and left with a friend and was notified by my neighbor at 6:30 pm that my truck which had been parked since 4 pm was fully engulfed in flames. He held water from the garden hose on it until the VFD arrived to extinguish what was left. The end result is that from the cab forward, it is totally burned to the ground. With only liability insurance on it, its a total loss with no idea how it caught on fire. The point of origin looks to be from the drivers side fender well area under the hood. Ive heard numerous rumors of the fuse boxes shorting out, and/or the avs shorting out causing the fire. Thus far, Ive not seen or heard of any recall from Dodge. Can anyone guide me to the correct direction for restitution for my truck that was in great condition with many more miles of dependability left in it or so I thought? Is Dodge going to stand behind their product that has been proven by other owners to have this problem and make good for it? Or just keep taking our money for vehicles with a lifespan of maybe lasting long enough to pay them off before just having to dispose of it?

I own a 2014 Ram 1500 Sport. About a month ago while driving down the road the windshield wipers went on on a clear day. When I went to turn them off I realized they were NOT ON!!! About five seconds after that the Service Airbag Soon light came on. Before I could find a place to pull over the driver side air bag deployed. Truck has been with the dealer the entire time, engineer has given go ahead to fix the issue and the truck is still not fixed. NO ONE from Chrysler/Dodge has returned my calls (four so far), dealer says they can only put the shop foreman on my truck but he needs to supervise others so cant commit a full eight hours a day to my truck. Will say they have given me a rental truck to use but I want this resolved.I am particularly frustrated that no one has the decency at Chrysler to return my call. I do not want this truck back. Am going to chase them for a new 2015 Ram 1500. Have contacted a lawyer, the CT Dept. Of Consumer Protection and if this is not resolved to my satisfaction soon I will contact my local news media and inform them of what happened.

I feel it is necessary to write you about the problems I have faced with my truck and your company. On September 12, 2014 purchased 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 from Dallas Dodge Chrysler Jeep (11550 LBJ FREEWAY, DALLAS, TEXAS 75238) VIN # **. On the purchase date, radio and navigation do not work correctly. I was told by the salesman to take it by my local Dodge dealer (McMullan Motors) to have it checked as it is still under warranty. The first time I take it in, after waiting for a couple of hours, I was informed the radio technician was not there and I would have to bring it back in. I work about 300 miles from my home so I informed them I would have to set up another time to drop it off. I could not leave it and do not own another vehicle. I was also not offered a courtesy vehicle or rental car. In the meantime, I noticed several other things not working correctly so I made a list to get everything checked upon my return. On December 15, 2014 I bring my truck in to be serviced for the following problems: navigation/compass/radio not working, headlights fogging up, vibration felt while driving down the road. Of these 3 problems, only one was fixed even though I was assured by the service department my truck was fixed and I was good to go. On December 23, 2014 I was shopping and when I returned after a rain, my truck had approximately 3 of water inside the cab. I immediately called the McMullan Motors and they explained to me someone else had called with the same problem. I was told if I took it somewhere to have it fixed, other than a Dodge dealership, that would void the warranty. I then made another appointment to drop my truck off, leave it and pick up later. On January 5, 2015 I took truck in for leaking back glass. I am called and good to go. On February 12, 2015 check engine light comes on. I make another appointment. On February 13, 2015 I take truck in for check engine light, fuel sensor vibration. I explain to the service dept. I am still feeling the vibration and was assured they did not feel anything and I should bring it back in for another look. On May 4, 2015 take truck back in for vibration/rotate and balance tires. This time, they rotate and balance my tires. I pick truck back up and yet again I am told that I am good to go. I call them back later that day and tell them I still feel it. I was informed I should bring it back in for another look. During the month of July, my back glass leaks again after a rain. I take it to another dealership to have it repaired. I also explained the vibration to them. I cannot leave it that day and asked to bring it back the next week. This time I leave the truck for 5 days!!!On July 22, 2015 take truck back in for leaking back glass, vibration felt while driving. I go back to pick truck up and I was told that my vehicle warranty was up and my extended Gold Plus warranty (I paid an extra $1500.00 dollars for this) had a 100.00 dollar deductible which I was responsible for. When I explained I had already paid for this once, I should not be responsible for paying for something that was already fixed once by Dodge, the service manager told me to call the dealership and ask them about it. I asked about the vibration and the manager informed me that Ram is notorious for putting bad tires on trucks. The tires are probably the cause of the vibration and I should contact Goodyear to discuss it with them since Dodge is not responsible for tires!!! So, I call McMullan Motors about the back glass issue. I was told by the service department and I quote, Sir we get ** parts all the time! Sometimes we get ** parts right out of the box!!! How sad is it that your own employee tells me this!!! Mr. Hegbloom this is my complaint: I drive to Dallas to purchase my dream truck! I get these responses from your own employees!!! Good to go. Ram has gotten so bad, Dodge separated themselves from the Ram name. Dont know why its vibrating - couldnt feel anything- bad tires, ** parts. Not once has anyone apologized and tried to actually fix my truck. It seems that passing the buck on has become quite the norm. I know this letter is lengthy and for that, I apologize. There are many truck companies I can choose from. I can buy any truck I so desire, some for less money. I have been a loyal Dodge customer for many years and feel that I am owed some loyalty in return. I am truly disturbed by the inept actions of your employees. I saved up my money and had the choice of any truck on the market. I hope that you can restore my faith in your company. As of today, here is a recap of problems I am still having with my truck: engine noise vibration around 40 mph or 1100 rpm, vibration in truck suspension while driving normal speed, transmission is slipping when accelerator is pressed, transmission shifts hard in and out of gears, tires are severely worn at less than 40,000 miles, overall performance of truck is poor, radio still does not work correctly, USB port does not work.

I just purchased my 5th Dodge Truck 2012 2500 Super Duty Crew Cab, had leather installed in by dealer and console was very hard to open. So I was told they will order a new cover and install it. I also told them for the second time that my automatic transmission is banging when I go from park to reverse and drive, was told that they put it on the computer and it was a stabilizer bar that needed some grease. They were closing but trans problem is still banging. What is my next move? I do not want to give the name of the dealer because they are all nice to me when I drop my truck off and go out of the way to help you. I just want my truck with problem switched out or correct the problem.

I own a 2009 Dodge 2500 with 85,250 miles on it. While pulling a 28 foot 5th wheel trailer, the front brakes locked up while traveling down the freeway almost causing us to almost go into the ditch. We brought it to the dealership, and they found that all the rubber brake lines had failed on the truck. The rear brakes were not working at all and the front brakes had locked up. They stated that this is something that is showing up on some Dodge pickups. This is a huge safety concern that we feel needs to be addressed by Dodge.

We have a Ram 3500 and we love it! We have gone over 300,000 miles in 3 years towing RVs all over the United States and Canada. It has been strong, comfortable, durable along with a great towing package and the price was right. My favorite feature is the 2 person dual control on the AC/heater temperature and the dual seat temperature control. But they could do away with oil changes and make tires that do not have to be replaced. Other than that, it has been very trustworthy and never caused us any problem except for routine maintenance.

My Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 SLT pickup has a severely cracking dashboard, and it has been an obvious manufacturers defect for many years. It is getting to the point where the dash could become dislodged in pieces and either fall into the dashboard area or worse, shatter in sharp pieces in the event of a collision. I called the customer service 800 number and was told that even though I am the original owner of the vehicle, that Dodge would do nothing to make my vehicle safe for me and my kids because there were too many miles on the truck. Sad thing is that the truck has been an excellent vehicle, fun, completely reliable, and I wont buy another Dodge product because they wont fix a cosmetic issue that could be very dangerous.Short sighted corporation, as I would have bought another Dodge in a heartbeat, but not now.

We have a Diesel 5500 Dodge Ram with that horrible DEF system. During this recent snow storm the computer system told us we had 195 miles to service the DEF system before the truck would CUT OFF. This is the 2nd time in 40,000 miles we have had this happen. We are a snow plowing company,195 miles during a snow storm does not give us a lot of time. We brought the truck into Ross Dodge (Boone, NC) and we were told there was no one to help in service, we took it back the next day and the service people told us they would not look at the truck until the ice and salt had been removed from the bottom of the truck. They did offer to keep it in their bay overnight to melt the debris away. Crazy thing is the truck was needed to (lets all say it together) plow snow. Why couldnt they take it over to their handy car wash and wash it off, or put on their big boy underpants and deal with the dirt? They do not keep the DEF part in stock. So now back to the dealership for a 3rd, or maybe its the 4th, time to replace a part that we have no control over. Why is this part not stocked? It is used on so many Dodge Diesels both commercial and individual. Shame on Dodge for letting one state control their multibillion dollar company. Grow a set and stand up to California!

I was driving my 2013 Ram 2500 with under 10,000 miles and it shut down to what seemed like one cylinder running, with an awful knocking noise. Was towed to the dealer. Ended up having a broken valve spring, 2 bent pushrods, and 2 lifters had to be changed. Rather than change the engine, they said there was no internal engine damage and would fix it. With the noise it made Im shocked theres no other internal damage. They fixed it and sent me on my way.A month later I change the oil and it was full of metal flakes. I guess when they diagnose for internal damage they do not look at the oil. I cant understand that. I called about the issue and they said I should not be doing my own maintenance and theres no proof that there was any metal in the oil because I changed it. How else would I have found this out? They have no idea where the metal could have came from but theres enough to make golf ball sized ball. Told me I was covered by the engine warranty and they would do nothing further to the truck and still deny theres internal engine damage. So I will continue to drive it circulating metal. They didnt even want it back to flush it out.A month later the check engine light is on so I have the code read with a reader at Auto Zone. Theres something wrong with the oil pump. Instead of replacing the engine they are going to keep making me bring it back, an hour away, to keep repairing it until the warranty is over. This engine should have been replaced, not band-aided. My $46,000 truck has rebuilt engine, more internal damage that they will not acknowledge, and only has 11,000 miles on it. Chrysler does not stand by their products and has no interest in making it right. Just wanted to warn others about what happens with Chrysler products when theres an issue.

The track bar broke on my truck and I had lost steering. I managed to cross over two lanes of traffic to the emergency lane and crawl home at 25 miles per hour. When I called Dodge, the woman at the recall center said that they went by VIN numbers only and that my VIN number was not on the recall list. Therefore it could not have been the track bar that failed. As she continued, she said that they knew only 1500 trucks had the wrong smaller truck part and because my VIN was not on the list. It could not have been the track bar. I asked where do I go to get it fixed and submit proof of the track bar being the wrong size and she said its up to me to get it fixed and its not Dodges fault if the wrong size was installed. But they would appreciate me being a Dodge customer. I HATE DODGE! Every Dodge we ever had, the drivers door come off the hinges or they break leaving us to weld the door shut, suspensions go, engines go. Grrrrr, frustrating.

The 1994 through 1997 Dodge Rams with the V10 engine had an ignition control module that selected the proper ignition coil. About 2002, Dodge discontinued this part (#56027978). As a result, when this part fails, the engine will only run on 6 cylinders and since there are no replacements, the truck is unrepairable. In my case, I have a truck with only 112,000 miles on it and it is only good for salvage. Retail value on this truck is about $8500 if it were running right, and I will have to eat the loss as the dealer wont even take it as a trade-in.

Very poor customer service in regards to replacement of front seat padding in my Ram 1500. The representative I spoke to said that it wouldnt be covered under warranty. They claim the seat padding was covered for 12 months or 12 thousand miles. The padding has broke down so far that it feels like youre sitting on the bars. Ram Country Dodge in Del Rio, TX, I had an appointment for the recall on the 2011 Dodge 3500. I was told it would take 2 hours. I left it at noon, went to pick it up at 6 pm because after several calls, it still wasnt finished mainly because they havent even started on it. Finally, after speaking to the owner, I was told they would have it done in 30 minutes.Several weeks later, the truck died while I was driving it. It was towed to Crenwelge Motors in Fredricksburg, TX where we were told after 5 days of being there, that the recall had never been done and that the fuel pump in the tank was not working. The day the truck was picked up and driven about 45 miles back to Mason, TX, it was still having some sort of problem. So on the 7th of August, it was taken to All American Chrysler in San Angelo, TX. It is still there and we were told that there are 7 errors coming up on the computer. We are not happy at all with the fact that we have a brand new truck and the problems and the runaround we have gotten. Our daughter drives that truck and is in college and needs it. I would like someone to get in touch with me immediately.

I called the dealership about my 2014 Dodge 1500 Outdoorsman with a bunch of problems. It has only 40.000 km on it. I have to pump the brakes. The service advisor said this was normal. Both bumpers are rusting. I was told it is residual rust by the service advisor. The first time and the second time it was due to road sand and was not warrantied. The truck will do random horn honk and door lock at lights or just sitting parked. It wont do it at the dealer so it is my problem. Engine has bad chain and lifter noise after being parked for 3 to 5 days but the service advisor told me this is normal for that type of engine. After a few hours of driving it starts to get a right hub howl but it wont do it at the dealership so it is my problem until it breaks. After driving a few hours on the highways when you slow down for a light you get different cluck. But because it wont do it at the dealership it is my problem until it breaks. I have reported all this to Chrysler Canada but their answer is well if the dealer cant find it or wont do it at the dealership then wont do anything and the rusting bumpers is normal wear due to road conditions. I payed extra for extended warranty even tire warranty. If I hadnt pay the truck off I would have driven it back to the dealership and walked away. They tell me I can come down and trade it one.

About the time I hit 7,000 miles on the truck, I developed a nasty vibration in the truck once you leveled out the speed at around 50 MPH. Being a Mechanic for a living, I started to pay attention to this vibration and accelerated to see if I could drive out of the vibration to which I was able to. This vibration was not there all of the time. It would come and go and had a mind of its own. My wife and I went for a nice drive one day. And on our way back we were in a 30 MPH zone, leveled out speed, the truck jolted forward 2 times in about 500 feet of driving without me hitting the accelerator. At that time, I decided to make an appointment to drop the truck off at the dealer to get it checked out. When I went in to the dealership to look at vehicles for my wife, I went in to set the appointment up and spoke with the Service Manager. I started to explain to him what the truck was doing. And he knew exactly what it was doing and cut me off and told me to drive the truck and level out the speed - when it starts to vibrate, hit the tow-haul button and see if it stops vibrating. He told me that they have this complaint frequently. I did what he had asked of me to do, and it helped the problem, but did not totally get rid of the vibration. So I took the truck in and dropped it off. I told them to drive the truck to see what I was talking about and a service tech wanted to drive the truck with me. So we went for a drive and he was driving the truck. We got onto a smooth fresh paved road and sure enough, he verified the complaint. We drove back to the dealership and pulled the truck into his bay. He hooked up the computer/scanner to check for flashes (updates). To my surprise, there were several, and he said he would flash the truck and drive it again to see if one of them would cure the vibration. When we got back from sons basic training in Georgia, I went to pick up the truck. They said it was done and the flashes took care of the vibration. I got in the truck and drove away and BAM, vibration still there. So I called them again and talked to them. The Service manager stated that it was normal for this truck to do this, that he could take me to the lot and put me in any brand new RAM and it would do the same thing. I was not going for this stupidity, so I contacted Ram brand and told them of the problem. They assigned me a case manager (A Woman who sits behind a computer). I received a call from her and she told me she would contact the dealer and get back to me after she verified my complaint. When she finally called me back, she told me that they wanted to send out a district tech advisor to drive the truck. After this was done, the tech advisor reported that it was as per design and was totally normal and will not hurt anything and needs no repair at this time. I have made several calls to the case manager to no avail. The service manager actually told me that he felt 2 separate vibrations but they could not do anything without the approval of Chrysler LLCs approval, because they do not know what is causing the problem. The case manager tells me that the service manager says the truck is fine. They played me the entire time, then they tell me I have 3 choices - live with it, trade truck in for new truck and pay the difference or take to another dealer. I took to another dealer and dropped it off with them. They verified the vibration and did some serious investigating and said that they believe it is related with the torque converter but cannot do anything as of yet until it gets worse. We purchased a travel trailer in June which weighs 6,400 LBS. This truck has shifting issues when pulling this camper, and at times when shifting into final gear, it slams/clunks and shifts very hard. So now here I sit, 21,000 miles on the truck and still nothing done about it. Did a Google search on this complaint and my oh my, the complaints of this exact issue and yet nothing gets done about it. Before this problem became so severe, and I figured Chrysler would take care of this, we purchased a brand new 2012 Journey Crew fully loaded and 2 brand new 2012 Avengers for the kids, and this is how they treat us… My brother in law has the exact same truck and does not have this problem at all, yet they say it is as per design... HMMM.

Spoke with local Ram dealer and he explained how to start the truck with a dead fob battery. I removed the battery purposely and placed it the fob on the start button and it stopped the alarms on the truck and gave a run light. Foot on brake and pushed start. Truck roared to life. I have to retake original complaint and chalk my experience up to ignorance of technology. Still believe this should get explained to consumers. Thank You.

Purchased a 2007 2500 Dodge 5.9 SLT new. Have had very few problems with the truck except AC compressor which began overheating and would not cool. Had to the dealer several times before they finally replaced it. More recently in late August 2015 the Shift Cable broke. Had it towed to the dealer. After 4 or 5 days they checked and agreed it was broken. When asked when it would be repaired I was advised that the part was on back order (over 800) and would not be available until 14 November 2015. Very irritated I accepted the fact that I would not have my truck for a while. I check often for updates and recently told that it would be 9 December 2015 before part would be available.Irritated by the delays I contacted Dodge Customer Service and lodged my complaint. The customer service rep called four days later, apologetic, and advised that the part would not be available until late January 2016 or early February 2016. Dodge has a parts supplier problem since contractors provide them to Dodge. My complaint with this is bad suppliers and bad management. If in August there were already over 800 on back order what is the problem. This is obviously not an aftermarket part or they would be available.

Overall the truck is a good truck, has lots of features. I would recommend a test drive and purchase. Just like all vehicles now days, are overpriced, by being over inflation. The big screen on the dash is the biggest in the industry. Truck seems to be solidly built. Lots of electronics for a pleasant drive. The power of the diesel is a great asset with the four wheel drive.

This truck is one of my favorite vehicles. I had zero problems with it and the Hemi engine is awesome. My only complaint was that it got pretty bad gas mileage, and this during 2007 and 2008 when gas was 4 something a gallon in Texas. Great truck, fair to good interior, low payload capacity, but towed a trailer well. Nice sounding and fast.

We took our 2008 truck to the garage to get it fixed, cost us $700.00. Now, they are telling us the tie rod needs to be replaced. The mechanic that my husband talked to said that you now have to replace the whole thing, that they changed it; it is going to cost us around $1,000.00 to get this replaced. We have a family to take care of and thought we were buying something at $500.00 a month that we could depend on. If they changed the part within the last 2 years because of problems, why is the part not a recall? I keep telling my husband I will never and I mean never own another Dodge! This is the second Dodge truck that we have owned since 2005. The first one was a Dodge 2002 and we had nothing but problems with that also. You want to make them and have us pay a lot of money for them but dont want to stand behind them. I just dont understand. Not a very happy mom in WV.

I own a 1500 Ram Big Horn which was purchased new from Five Star Dodge Warner Robins. When I purchased the Ram I was told I was entitled to oil changes from Ram and 1 oil change from the dealership. Due to the low mileage on this vehicle I didnt need the service frequently and wasnt told by the dealership that there was a time limit in which this had to be done. Unfortunately on 7-5-18 I had service done which would have been the fourth oil service on the Ram Truck and was charged $36.13. I called consumer affairs and was told that service agreement wouldnt be honored due to the length of time and again I stated that the dealership made no statement when purchasing the Ram Truck about a time limit to the service agreement. I also purchase a 2016 Ram Truck Big Horn 4x4 from the same dealership which more mileage was put on this vehicle due to it involved being destine as a work vehicle and all oil changes were honored. I usually buy/purchase vehicle every 4 years and have considered buying another Ram Big Horn but feel that if I am going to be penalized for not driving and taking care of my purchase and the Ram company isnt going to honor an agreement due to time then I should seek other types of truck makers. I regret that for $36.13 that a company like Ram would want to lose a valued customer. This can be easily resolved by honoring an oil change at one of your facilities with a coupon. Please understand I feel at this time that if Ram will not honor this then will Ram honor their other warranties/services. Thank you and hope to be able to continue to do business in the near future.

I was driving home on December 8, 2016 when I noticed smoke coming from the passenger side under the dash. Within seconds flames came through the fabric under the dash and hit the floor. I pulled over as fast and safely as possible. I grabbed what I could and got out. I went to the passenger side and attempted to put out the flames but I failed. I called 911 and within minutes the FD arrived on scene.I contacted Chrysler about the fire and they hired an investigator. He contacted me and I explained what I saw. 3 weeks later I got a letter in the mail saying it is not a manufacture defect. The thing that got me from the letter was We are sure you will appreciate, fire of this nature can and do occur for a number of reasons not associated with the manufacturing process. Then tell me how does a 2015 truck catch fire inside the cab while driving at 65 mph? Im not a smoker and the truck was all stock. I would not recommend anyone buy anything from Chrysler. They do not stand by their products.

Well, where do I start. We bought a truck from Kernersville Dodge. It was a $3500.00 Dually and paid cash for the truck. We did this in October and we still do not have the title for this vehicle. We have called the dealer and Chrysler several times and each one has told me that the title was mailed. Then I spoke to a manager and she said, Well, we dont have the title to send you, so she didnt know what the first 3 people were talking about. We think that the dealer had not paid off the truck and they still had a lien on the title. I couldnt tell you. I have never been lied to so much.In the meantime. We have had the truck in there for at least 5 times for the vibration. It has been to 3 dealerships now and still Chrysler doesnt want to make it right. Kernersville tried to balance it and then said nothing was wrong. We fussed and fussed until Chrysler sent us to Nichols in Burlington. They did put 2 ties on the front and it was 2 totally different tires then what was on the truck. And they didnt report even doing that job. We fussed about that and they wouldnt make it right. So, we go back to Chrysler and tell them that we are going to get an attorney and get the truck returned and get our money back. The next day we get a call and they have made us an appointment for Crown Dodge in Greensboro. I take the truck in there and the service advisor says oh yeah we had one just like this when he worked at another dealer and we had to fight and fight Chrysler before they would change the tires and it is back tires that we have the issue with. So, he called yesterday and said that Chrysler wouldnt make the tires good and we would have to fight with them. So, I pick it up again today. The other issue was that we had the radio go out and Kernersville ran a test and said to our face that they would change the radio out. We said okay, expecting them to call when they got it in. And we would AGAIN drive 100 miles round trip to get that done. Well, when the Crown Dodge place called Kernersville Dodge to see if they ordered that radio, the guy said, Oh, we already changed that radio out. We knew was a lie. When my husband had talked to them the week before to check on all of this, they said that they had no record of getting a radio or that they even tested the radio. They would have to do that again. We had the paperwork where they did it. So, did they do the test or not. We know they didnt change it out. So, Crown ran their own test and yes the radio is bad and they ordered another. So, now I have in my possession a 60,000 dollar truck with no title and mix match tires that cant be rotated and a radio that goes on and off on its own. Hmmm, but Kernersville Dodge wont make it right. But they were all fine when I was getting ready to make that check out. Oh, yeah I didnt mention that they put the tag under the wrong weight and it was supposed to be a farm tag and it wasnt. Kernersville Dodge did that and didnt want to make that right either. We were told to pay the taxes on the truck and buy another tag. And guess what? I dont have a title or registration to get a tag. The temporary tag has run out. The worst experience I have ever had with a car dealer. They suck. And what makes me so mad is that they dont care. They really could care less if you are a happy customer or not.

On December 31, 2012, I purchased a 2013 Dodge Dart at the Dodge Dealership
On December 31, 2012, I purchased a 2013 Dodge Dart at the Dodge Dealership in Marlow Heights, MD. Two months after having the vehicle, I began to have electrical problems where the left turn signal would not work. I took it to the dealership three times and they could not get it to work so I was offered to purchase a new Dodge Dart in May of 2013, and the Dodge dealership paid off the first vehicle. Well, it has been a little over a year and I have begun to have problems and I am afraid to even drive the vehicle now for safety reasons. In June of 2014, my vehicle would not start. I had to get a jump and from that time, I needed a jump every time I started the vehicle. I took it to the dealership and they worked on the vehicle for about a week. In mid-July of 2014, I took my car on a road trip and while out of state, my car would not start again and this is after I was told I received a brand new battery. I was afraid that I would not make it home and had to get a jump from a stranger while out of town just to make it home. Now, every time I want to head out, I am afraid that my car will not start and I just dont feel safe. I can be out in the evening and not be able to make it home; I should not feel this way having a one-year old vehicle. A few days later, the entire car reset on its own as well, all the radio stations that were pre-set were set back to factory as well as the clock; I am sure this is not normal. I took the vehicle to the dealership and they worked on it for four days and said they could not find anything wrong with my vehicle and sent me home with another problem: a damaged vehicle frame, bent rocker panel and the paint is now chipping. I have spoken with the customer service multiple times about many of these issues and I dont think they are listening. I work full-time so I cannot drive back and forth to the dealership; I cannot afford to continue to take off or be tardy for work. Today, August 4, 2014, I took the vehicle into the service center at the dealership because I have the day off. They refused to work on my vehicle without charging me stating that I could have ran over a pot-hole, I explained theres no pot-hole that I know of that I could have run over that will cause the frame of my car to point outwards.Overall, I am now stuck with a vehicle that I do not feel safe driving because I never know if it will start or when the next problem when arise and as a customer of Dodge, I do not feel respected as they damaged my vehicle and have not offered to even fix it even though they damaged it. I do not want another Dodge Dart as I feel unsafe and it should be re-called.

I bought a new Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 on 03/26/2012. The warranty has run out. The truck currently has about 60k + miles on it. The truck started making a whining noise from the rear end. I brought it to my local Dodge dealer to get it looked at. Turns out its the rear end pinion bearing that went bad. The mechanic told me that I might be in luck and that there might be a recall on this rear end. He did some research and found out my VIN number did not match the recall. The repair that the recall calls for is the same repair they did on my truck. The pinion bearing they took out of the truck was trashed due to lack of proper lubrication, the reason for the recall. I called the RAM customer assistance office and received no assistance with this repair. This lack of lubrication condition could cause the pinion bearing to seize and cause a loss of vehicle control and or cause a crash without warning. The last sentence was pulled directly from the recall advisory that for some reason does not include my truck yet the problem I had is just like the recall. RAM really needs to get this checked out before someone is injured. If you own a 2012 Ram 1500 get it checked out. Safety Recall K36.

I purchased my Rubicon in March 2014, spent $61 000.00 and was incredibly excited. By November of 2014, I was already having balance issues and a ridiculous speed wobble. Took it in to two different locations in Edmonton and they told me it was fine and nothing was wrong. March 2015, I couldnt drive my jeep any longer. The wobble was so bad I couldnt hold on to the steering wheel and wasnt able to control it.I take it back to Dodge and they told me theyre surprised it hasnt fallen apart. All 4 Fox shocks had to be replaced (only highway driven and 40 000 on) away bar and track bars as well. Then they told me this was REGULAR maintenance. Are you kidding me? It was in the shop for 3 months because they kept ordering the wrong parts. When I got it back they had some reason messed with the steering and the steering wheel was on crooked... Then they told me it wasnt them who did that... They were the last knee to touch my jeep and the steering was fine prior. Now I just took it back today as the abs and traction control lights were on. They told me my brake line was close to breaking so to be careful driving until they could order me one, and that my sensors were gone in my front end. $600 later for labour... I pay and drive away. I make it 1 km down the service road and am driving about 30 km an hour and my abs light starts flashing off and on and my entire jeep locks up and I stop in the middle of the road. This ends my story because I turned around and took it right back, furious!!! They dont know whats wrong with it now and I ended up leaving it there. This Jeep is going to suck all my money dry. Worst decision ever to buy this thing and I barely even drive it!

Dodge Ram has been my dream truck for years. I finally was in a financially sound enough situation I could afford one, brand new, off the lot. I researched for one in my price range with most of the features I wanted within my price range. I decided on a 2022 Ram 1500 quad cab. 7 miles on it when I went to the dealership. I was so excited when they handed me those keys after I signed the papers! I drove off the lot Saturday evening, took my wife to dinner, drove the truck to work on Sunday. I started the truck and the check engine light came on. The dealership was closed on Sunday so I took it back Monday. They told me it was a cylinder 4 misfire due to an injector being stuck in the open position so they replaced it. I got the truck back Tuesday. I drove to the grocery store and home.Wednesday, I got up and went to run an errand. I started the truck and the check engine light was on once again. I took it back to the dealership. Its now Tuesday and I havent seen my truck since I dropped it off. I reached out to Chrysler multiple times, reached out to the dealership who said they were waiting for Chrysler, Chrysler said they were sending a tech out which they have yet to do because they were waiting to hear from the dealership. It has just been a complete disaster at this point of back and forth and I am making payments on a truck Im not even able to drive. I am very meticulous with cleaning my truck (2009 Dodge Ram Diesel) because I like it, spent a lot of money on it, and want it to last. Every time I wash it, which is usually once a week, I thoroughly sponge wash the interior of all wheel wells. Now I started noticing bubbles in the paint over the rear wheel wells. While at the dealership for a tie rod recall I had the service manager at Hoffman Chrysler/Dodge, Hagerstown, MD looked at the rust development. He agreed that as clean as the truck is kept that it should not be rusting. He gave me an (800) number for Chrysler and said I could even offer his name for verification. I called and they made me feel foolish for even calling. Actually told me he shouldnt have given me the number and that it wasnt something they were responsible for. In my opinion Chrysler knows they have a manufacturing problem for 1000s of their trucks to be rusting out in the same areas in such a short time. I love the truck but could never purchase another Dodge. None of my Fords or Chevys ever rusted out in 5 years. By the way, I was notified of the tie rod recall and it took 10 months for Chrysler to get the parts to the dealership for replacement. They were sending them one at a time and there were lots of owners on the list for the recall just at my dealer alone. You pay a lot of money for these Diesel trucks and once you drive away they act like its not a problem for them to rust away in 5 years. :-(

I bought the truck in May of last year with only 18000 miles on it. I changed the oil as soon as I bought it (DelVac Mobil 1, 15-40wt syn). Abt 3000 miles later I got the change oil soon message. So I changed it. Another 3000 mile goes by and I got the same message again, but this time I called my local Dodge Ram dealer (Huntington Beach). They told me that the 7500 mile oil change interval is just an approximation. I also noticed that when I drained the oil (into a 5 gal bucket) I noticed the oil level was abt an inch and a half from the top. The dip stick is hard to see if the oil level is higher than it should be. So I took notice to that, so now after another 3000 miles I took an oil sample via Quinn Cat. and it came back with low oil viscosity with an 8.5% of fuel in the oil. Ive tried to get help via my local Dodge dealership and all I got was No engine light, then we cant do anything. I don’t feel that any of what Ive explained is normal. Is there anything you can do to help. Well I got my truck back from Dodge and they told me that 8.5% fuel dilution is? Normal? I cant believe that. They also said that they did a comprehensive injector test. The only thing that I saw in the paperwork that they gave me was that the tech pulled the valve cover and looked at the injectors and stated he didnt see any leaks. Also the tech smelled in the engine, and it didnt smell of fuel. That, is as far as I can see is their BIG test. Anyway, my VIN is **. My oil change intervals are May 25, 2013, 18700 miles (That’s when I bought the truck), Aug 24, 2013, 22176 miles, Nov 17, 2013, 26659 miles (This is when I pulled over 4 1/2 gallons of oil/fuel mix out of the engine), Jan 21, 2014, 29732 miles (This is when I took the oil sample). Changed oil Mar 24, 2014, 32980 (Oil Sample 9% rule in oil), April 27, 2014 (Oil sample no results yet). Now, Im not the smartest cookie on the planet, but if I get 8.5% & 9% of fuel in the oil at only 3073 mile between oil changes, something is wrong (In my Opinion). Thanks for your time. VIN: **, Mileage: 35281, Servicing Dealer: Huntington Beach Dodge.

Dodge Ram - WARNING - If you have a 2019 or 2020 Dodge Ram Diesel. GET RID OF IT. Our 2019 with less than 30,000 miles has been at the dealership for 45 days now with NO RESOLUTION. We were stranded on the Interstate for two hours - IT JUST DIED AS WE WERE DOING 75MPH, - we are blessed no one was right behind us. The warranty that is supposed to be top rated is useless. The case managers, supervisors, do not return calls and the poor dealership service managers are left to deal with things that the engineers dont know how to fix. The fuel pump recall doesnt have a fix and there is no fix for all the damage that comes when the fuel pump goes out and sends metal shavings all through injection system. Our last update after 45 days (and paying two truck notes) is that STAR engineers have no idea how to fix this damage. We have been without a vehicle all this time. SO IF YOU HAVE ONE OF THESE, GET RID OF IT BEFORE YOU ARE LEFT IN A MESS LIKE THIS!

I owned a 3500 diesel 2012 which the garage could not fix due to the O2 censors kept shooting up and putting the check engine light on. Dodge bought the truck out and we replaced it with a 2500 gas 2014 truck. This truck had a rear end whine in it. The garage we bought it from said it was like opening Pandoras box and did not want to fix it. This whine was between 50-60 mph. We then took it to another dealer and they heard the whine and opened the rear end but did not see anything wrong with it. The truck had 12,000 miles on it with original warranty and an extended warranty on it. The dealer charged $172.00 to have the whine worse 45-50 mph than when we brought it in to be fixed. Bottom line is go buy a FORD or Chevrolet not a Dodge Ram. Two strikes and youre out forever.

I purchased new two 3500 Diesel. One 2004 the other 2007. They both have had major issues with the front end. The infamous Death Wobble on both trucks began occurring around 40K. The 2007 was my wifes until it started the wobble. The drag link in the 07 broke clean on two different occasions. The first time was the night of my first childs wedding night. Went to back the truck up so we could load gifts and heard a loud Bang. The drag link sheared at the threads. I purchased a new link from NAPA and paid for their most heavy duty, lifetime warranty. Took the truck to an alignment shop and had it aligned and inspected (Ball joints, u-joints, etc.). A month later while driving at 80 mph on the Interstate I crossed over a bridge with a slight bump and the truck began wobbling and then bang!!. Wobbling stopped but I knew what had happened and coasted to the emergency lane applying the emergency (rear) brakes. When the truck was almost at a stop I pressed on the front brakes and the truck skidded. I got out and the driver side wheel was 90 degrees pointing out. The irony is I was on my way to a local dealer for a recall on the front ball joint. I had the truck towed to the dealer. They inspected the Ball Joint, said it was fine and then gave me a 6 line item list on what was wrong and needed to be fixed. $5500.00 estimate. I told the service writer to leave the truck alone and I would have it towed to a service facility that I trust. I replaced the Drag Link again, took the pile of ** to have it aligned again. The alignment owner told me to replace the front stabilizer shock and use Monroe brand instead of the Super Heavy Duty rock-n roll brands. They had had the best luck with Monroe. For the next three years I could only drive safely at top speed of 60 mph if I wanted to avoid the Death Wobble and possibly break another link. I will not let anyone else drive the thing for their safety. I put a more heavy duty tracking bar and an aftermarket stabilizer bracket on it. Still could only go 60 mph and feel safe. A few months ago I replaced the front hub assemblies and U-Joints.By doing so the truck feels like it did when I purchased it new. Now I can go 80 mph plus and feel safe. Regarding the 04, the front stabilizer tie rod broke and the truck doesnt Death Wobble any longer. Im tempted to leave the thing broken. Once a Dodge... Always a Dodge. Ill never buy Dodge again. Most DANGEROUS vehicles Ive ever owned!!! Im thinking the new Nissan with Cummins and Allison Tranny looks Real Good.

My 2012 Ram 1500 SLT is only used less than six months of every year and I have had two years yet the rear differential seal keeps going. Its been replaced twice and is leaking again in under six months since the last replacement. I requested they check that and the exhaust manifold last time it went in for repairs, and instead of doing so they suggested I buy a new truck, and when I refused their offer they continued to try to push me into it with numerous follow up calls. Needless to say they didnt even check why the seal keeps going just told me it was worn out and theres nothing that causes that, then told me the rattling noise was because I needed an oil change which had been done a month prior. Told them if thats what it was to do the oil change. After paying for another oil change and bringing my truck home I am still having the same issues, what do I do?

I have 2 Dodge Rams. One’s a ‘03 1500 Quad Cab with 4.7. Other is a ‘06 2500 Quad Cab. I bought the ‘03 in ‘05, and the ‘06 about a year ago. I bought the ‘03 with 20,000 miles, it now has 257,000. Ive never had to do anything to it besides routine maintenance and suspension of course. And bought the 06 with 90,000 miles. Now has 127,000 and still no problems. I take great care of mine and never hard on them. I have quite a bit of friends who drives Rams and none of them has trouble really. So I dont know why so many people has problems with them. It’s the only truck Ill ever buy.

2012 Dodge Ram 1500 4 X 4 - I just have to blow off steam. My husbands truck engine froze while working. Had the truck brought into Ray Brandt Dealership where it was purchased new from. 1st off on an expensive truck it is hard for me to believe that there is NO loaner that could be offered while checking my husbands truck out. After 3 weeks of me calling every other day we find out it is not covered under the Drive train warranty!!! Really? Abdul stated that Chrysler denied the claim, said the maintenance invoices looked fake? OMG and a rod was broken inside which suggests it was starved for oil? SO now I have a truck payment and 2 bills (1 for a rental) and 2 for a new engine that would not be covered. Why do we keep receipts for maintenance? They dont accept them anyway. I am very unhappy with Chrysler and his truck along with my 300 will be traded in and never buy another Chrysler product.... Shame on you, Chrysler.........

I bought my 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 in 2006. If you dont beat it and keep up on the maintenance you will truck that runs forever. My truck has a 6.5 lift kit and 37.5 inch tires. The lift kits are popular for blowing out u-joints, not my Dodge. Everyone you know in the last 10 years that I owned my Dodge that owned a Ford or Chevy, has purchased 2 or 3 new trucks since, but me I still have Ram tough, with 170,000 miles on it. I guarantee I never had it leave me stranded, no issues other my wear and tear. Its normal for things to need replacing. I maintain my gem by replacing tires, air filter, changing fluids on time, repairing rust, cleaning injectors etc. If you neglect your responsibility and something fails it isnt Dodges fault. You bought a Dodge for a reason. A Dodge is the only truck I will trust. Its nice to watch Ford owners complain that the tranny failed under 20,000 miles in a new truck as I sit back happy I have a Dodge. If the company is at fault, they tell you, Thats we have such a thing called recalls! I have a marketing degree, and I will use my skills to promote Dodge! Oh have I forgot to mention my Dodge was previously used in the mountains of Utah, and the previous owner rolled it, and amazingly after the roll the truck landed on all 4 wheels and it still drove off the mountain, thats when it was rebuilt and customized and I purchased it when it was 3 yrs old. You would think Dodge Ram is built tough! You think I would have had issues since but I havent! So stop your insulting and blaming Dodge for your negligence. What you all have to say about this! Keep it up Dodge. You rock!!!

I first purchased my 2019 Dodge Ram pickup back in April, everything went great I purchased an all black Big Horn. The whole dealership came to congratulate me on being the first to purchase. I received random thumbs up from strangers I was enjoying the truck as my daily driver, picking up the kids etc. Fast forward to my current experience with my Ram and I haven’t driven it a full week since August due to my power steering locking up at random times. The most recent time was two days ago where I couldn’t even get out the driveway nor turn the truck back into my yard without the power steering hindering my turn. After sitting in the waiting area a total of 10 hours, driving 3 different loaner vehicles, I now feel like purchasing this truck was one of my worst experiences I’ve made. I know that many new vehicles have small things but I feel that the safety of my family and I has been at risk and the best I could get is a truck that locks back up the next day. Do better Dodge this is embarrassing.

Purchased a 2014 Ram 1500 express in September 2014. Within 4,000 miles I observed odd tire wear on rt front tire. According to definitions by Bridgestone and Goodyear the tire wear condition is known as heal/toe wear or feathering. Have noticed that about half the trucks in my area are experiencing same problem. Have had 4 alignments, road force tire balance, and no improvement!Alignment in factory specs have 12,100 miles now, expecting maybe 3,000 more likes before I have to replace tire. Have Ram case worker assigned. No known fix to problem. Alignment does not correct problem. Dodge has now referred me to National Center for Dispute Settlement. Arbitration board will hear my case and attempt to settle in 40 days or less. If I am not satisfied I will lemon law truck through lemon law act. This is my 11th Chrysler vehicle, and the fifth truck. Very, very disappointed with suspension issue. Dodge used to be a good truck, but frankly Fiat is in way over their head having purchased this company. At this point they will give me a new truck through arbitration or lemon law act and make me happy or I will brink a class action suit against them. I know at least five other owners who are dealing with same problem and are more than willing to join action with me. My advice to Ram truck owners, dont let dealers blow you off, be insistent with customer care, and stick to your guns, the law is on your side!!!

I purchased two 2016 Dodge Ram 3500 in 2017. Had one only a few months and had to have it lined up and dealership had to replace one front tire. Second truck the dealership paid to get it lined up a month after we purchased it. We had it lined up again 6 months later. So now this truck has the two front tires wearing out on the outer thread at about 20,000 miles and 5 months after the last line up. The first truck we purchased has 26,000 miles on it and the front passenger tire (the one replaced a yr ago is wearing out on the outer edge as well. Dealership does not know why this is happening. They say because we did not rotate the tires every 5000 miles (we would have to do this in between oil changes). Then they said it was because we drive around too many curves. (What the heck.) They want to put these tires on the back inside duels so DOT can ding us on bald tires. They said the back tires are worn a little because of over inflation and we never put air in them since we purchased the truck. They cannot tell us why the tires on these trucks are wearing so now we have to purchase new tires every 20,000 miles or less?? Oh and the first truck has to have ball joints replaced. They do not want to do anything to help and they said the Big Wigs at Dodge says they have no reason to believe that there has been enough issues with these trucks to warrant them doing anything about it. GOOD old USA auto manufacturers. I thought our Ford trucks were a headache but these suck.

Executive Summary: The American Automotive Industry as we once knew it and in some circumstances its new European/Asian owners has and continues to set higher and higher standards for not only our convenience, but always with safety in mind. And having had and witnessed some really bad automobile accidents, I for one am grateful for their due diligence. This document speaks to the topic of safety. The DEF System warning that shuts trucks down after some pre-defined distance is dangerous to all who own or operate one. Many of us spend countless hours in our trucks and often at remote locations. This piece of programming needs to be recalled and adjusted such that it does not shut down the truck, but simply warns the operator of the need for service as quickly as is reasonable. The Solution: Reprogram the controller module and change the service warning limitations such that they are benign but not ignored. The Benefits: Safety of all customers and consumers driving our highways. The call to action: Reprogram the controller module and change the service warning limitations. I purchased my second (new) Dodge Ram Laramie Longhorn 3500 Dually 4X4 in July of 2013 from Allen Samuels Dodge on the South Loop in Houston, Texas in July 2013. Up until the circumstances Im about to describe, I can honestly say Ive been happy with the product and its performance. And, since I spend a significant amount of time in my truck with or hauling animals, reliability and safety is constantly on my mind. Getting stranded at any time is not an option although flat tires are often unavoidable on the trailers.December 2, 2014. I am a senior consultant for a small firm where we support an engineering software application that requires occasional out of state travel. This past December the firm received a call from a client that had an emergency and needed someone on site within 48 hours to assist them for a month or more. I packed, kenneled my dog and headed for Wilmington, NC from my home in Bellville, TX within 12 hours. I chose to drive due to weather conditions at the time, not wanting to get caught in any airport delays. Again, time was of the essence and with just under 48,000 mile on the truck had no reason to believe there would be any systems issues. The oil had been changed the day prior, tire pressure was good, DEF tank was full and I had just fueled up.December 3, 2014. I was sitting in traffic on I-10 just 20 miles outside of Baton Rouge, LA when the DEF System warning of the need for service within 200 miles needed to occur or the system would kick in a governor that would prevent the vehicle from going more that 5mph. I immediately contacted the Dodge dealership in Baton Rouge (Salsburys Dodge, 9550 Airline Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA (225) 926-8800). They were terrific, I had them replace the fuel filters and according to their accounting, they flashed the module and I was on my way in an hour and a half. Its now after 5pm. I needed to make Mobile, AL or beyond that night.December 4, 2014- February 24, 2015. I returned home on January 15, 2015, have had a couple of oil changes, radiator flush and new antifreeze added at a RAM dealership in Wilmington, NC, more DEF added to the tank and were now at 54000 plus miles. The late afternoon of February 24, 2015 I was heading home from Houston, TX and the DEF System warning came back on. Once again I have 200 miles to get service. Since the Tommy Vaughan Dodge Dealership is the closest to my home at this point and I had a good friend who had just purchased his RAM from them a couple of months ago, I headed in on the morning of February 25th. 100 miles before the DEF System programming will shut me down. I made the call to Tommy Vaughan and scheduled service for in the morning at 8am.February 25, 2015, 8am through February 27, 2015 4:30pm. The initial item noted was the need to replace the air filter. This did not resolve the DEF System error message as was suggested. The folks at Tommy Vaughan Dodge worked tirelessly for the next three days troubleshooting the issue and appeasing me. None of the module errors alerted them to the real issue. It took numerous calls to Chrysler by them and me to get technical support to their personnel with little or no success.I contacted my service manager at Allen Samuels to determine if she had experienced anything similar. She suggested it was the DEF System Pump. Additional diagnostics proved this to be true. Still no success with DEF System pressure through the injector. Turned out this needed to be replaced as well due to the failure of the pump. ONLY after much frustration (mine), the issue is resolved and Im back on the road. Three days later. Loss of work is 30 man-hours at a consulting rate and more frustration than you can imagine.A consumer at the mercy of failed manufacturer procedures. Total cost of repairs was just under $1300.00 (warranty on the DEF System parts had exhausted at 50,000 miles. I had just above 54000). RAM was not willing to help me out with the cost of parts and labor. The pump and injector should have been RECALLED in that nationally, there are 70 of these pumps on back order for RAM. What do the folks do that cant get parts? Lose use of their vehicle or is the DEF System temporarily by-passed, I wonder? So, why the long letter and what do I really want?I want the DEF System module that is programmed to shut the trucks down at 200 miles to be re-programmed such that you get the warning that the system needs service, but does not put me and countless other drivers like me across America in a potentially life threatening situation as a result of Clean Air Act mandates.I have hauled horses across the United States, served as the equine ambulance driver for horses that were on their way to colic surgery (two hours from a venue in Montana) and drive 75 miles one way to work each morning with animals and people at home relying on my safe return for their well-being. My 2013 RAM cost me $65,000.00 (it was my second in a two year period, I purchased my first $55,000.00 RAM in 2011).That all major automobile manufacturers put every single diesel truck owner in America in harms way is unacceptable. How many wrecks are caused because a driver was suddenly shut down to 5mph, or could not get to dealer within 200 miles to address DEF System issues? Why are 70 DEF System pumps on back order? How many are on back order for the other truck manufacturers? In my own case, the Columbus, TX service department had to go to Brenham, TX to get the replacement pump and to La Grange, TX to get the injector. And where I am grateful to their heroic efforts, what if I had been stranded in a far more remote location? With a 40 trailer and 8 horses in tow heading to an international event 3000 miles from my home? What is Dodge going to do for me then? Or FORD, GM, Chevrolet? What if the DEF System had been in place during Hurricanes Katrina or Rita or Ike? Would we have been shutdown on a crowded Freeway attempting to escape harms way? What about the next hurricane season? Emergency vehicles? What if youre in the ambulance thats headed to a hospital some 200 miles away and the DEF System warning occurs. Do you mean to tell me the ambulance will need to be out of service until a service department can find parts?I ask, do you have three days to wait for a situation that was completely avoidable? Im not a bureaucrat; Im just a working person. Like all my friends that own diesel trucks that are in the same situation Im in. Do the right thing. Recall all the DEF System equipment and replace it, reprogram the DEF module warning system and stop shutting people down.Im all about cleaning up the environment meant even if its with a colorless, odorless product that can kill people and animals if accidentally ingested, and although Ive not tried it, I understand its pretty good at cleaning stains on concrete. But dont leave people stranded because of pre-determined mechanical obsolescence (in excess of 50,000 miles or is it base upon vehicle operational hours?).Do the right thing. Recall all the DEF System equipment and replace it, reprogram the DEF module warning system and stop shutting people down. Thank you for your time and consideration. This document will be sent to all the major US and European automotive manufacturers and made public via DEF forums and all forms of electronic communications effective immediately including Consumer Report. Once this recall is in place to include the reprogramming of the DEF Module, I will follow-up with a thank you letter to all.

Weve only had this since March 28th, 2017 - Over-Engineering is an understatement. EPA has pretty much got us choked down. We bought this big boy to pull a 5th wheel, but thus far, we stay in the repair shop more than anywhere else. Check Engine Lights repeatedly on with O2 Sensors and EGR valve replacements have pretty much got us reconsidering our purchase. With the steering locking up from time to time, (were waiting on a recall,) we dont trust it to take us to the store, let alone on the road for pleasure. Its been anything but... We just had to have the Injection Pump replaced and that set us back 4k. We are on a wait and see list now for the O2 sensor to come on again and they will work towards faulty wiring harness possibly. We simply cant afford this for all of this poor design. My 1st Ram and wish I had our Ford back. We are NOW dealing with standing water in the back from leaking rear brake light that Ram has known about for YEARS, yet they dont correct poor engineering on that issue. We also have water pouring thru the rear sliding window and fixing to go get replacement seals and sweeps for that. We are hoping for a buyback on this monster. Please help us. Its really a bad thing when service technicians drop their heads and shake them when they see you coming AGAIN and they call you by name. SAD!!!

Built Ram Tough! Thats a joke. Dont take that Dodge Ram Laramie anywhere off the main highway. 20,000 miles on my 2016 Ram Laramie. I followed the GPS system off the highway on to a road, this road had water cover. This water only became worse so I turned around. Now mind you the water wasnt that deep. But through diagnoses it was somehow determined that it was my fault that water went in to the air intake filter, and then the motor. This ceasing up the motor. Warranty refused to cover this. Insurance claim it was. Do you think Ram would at some point stand behind their product? Ohh... No. I asked at very least they cover the $250.00 deductible. That wasnt going to happen. Customer service actually hung up on me when I asked for a supervisor!! Worst product ever!! Worst customer service ever!! Chrysler will never get another penny of my hard earned money. On 03-31-2014 I purchased a Chrysler Group- 2014 North American Map update for Uconnect 430N (RHB) for my 2012 Dodge Ram. When I received the DVD disk update I place the disk in the radio as instructed to do so by the instructions that came with the update DVD. According to the instructions there was to be a screen prompt that provided a Unit ID and a validation code. The next step was to access a computer and go to garmin.com/auto-update/maps/activate. However, I was never able obtain the two items(unit ID and validation code) because the DVD disk fail to provide these two items and went directly into downloading the new maps. When the disk went into downloading the new maps, it deleted the old maps. It takes about two hours to download the new maps with the vehicle running. Since the DVD disk failed to prove the first two items (unit ID and Validation code) I was not able to access the unlock code in order to complete the download process. Now for the real problems; I am currently not able to use my GPS system in the truck, no map access. I called customer support at 1-800- 800-1020 who referred me to another custom service at 866-462-8837 to inquire about the problem with the DVD disk. The person I talked with did not have any knowledge about my GPS system in my vehicle. I must mention that the support center is a call center was not able to provide any remedy or suggestion concerning the DVD disk problem. All they recommended was to take it to a dealer. I took the vehicle to my dealer and they stated there was nothing wrong with the GPS system that it most likely a bad map update disk. So I called the support center (call center) back and advised them of what my dealer said (bad disk) and asked for disk replacement. The service center stated that I would have to send the DVD disk back to the manufacture (HERE, LLC) before anything could be done about a new Disk. So made next step was to send back the Disk and Hoping for a new disk so I could get my GPS working before vacation time. I sent the disk back on 04-10-2014 by certified mail (cost $8.68). On 05-09-2014, almost a month later I received a phone call from the producer of the map update disk (HERE, LLC) that they are going to refund the purchase price of the disk ($160.00) since they are not able to provided a new update DVD disk for my GPS.When I advised them that my GPS was not working since attempting to update my GPS with their DVD disk almost two months ago their only recommendation was to take back to the dealer. I order the map update from Chrysler Group in good faith but failed to get any real support from them or the Disk manufacturer. On checking their website that offered the map updates I found that the product for GPS update was temporarily out of stock. Apparently the manufacture (HERE, LLC ) realized a problem with the Map update disc. Now Im still without use of my $60,000.00 Dodge Ram Uconnect 430N navigation system because of a company Chrysler uses to produce map updates for their vehicles. I believe that HERE, LLC should have made an effort to insure that what they produce for consumers are flawless and without error when they want people to buy their product. In this case HERE, LLC has not made any effort to contact consumers and correct their problem with the map update Disk. Very unhappy with Chrysler and customer service.

My wife and I have purchased a 2016 Ram 1500 8 speed with the 5.7 Hemi with 0 miles on it. I loved the truck because it is my first truck. However, with only a little over 3000 miles on it I started to experience the truck lunging forward when coming to a stop between 1st and 2nd gears. I took it in 2 times for this and they just reprogrammed the TCM (trans control module). The third visit the truck was at the dealer for a week and a half and they replaced the valve body and TCM sensor.Last night 8/28/17 while driving through the main streets the truck died on me and the dash lights were flashing. I had no brakes, power steering, or transmission control over the truck. I am very lucky that I was not on the highway when this happened. I had the tow truck take it to the dealer and the diagnostics had over 10 fault codes... now thats pretty scary. I have since obtained a lawyer and we are pursuing lemon law here in California. Sadly my trust in the Mopar brand is broken and will never purchase another Dodge product again.

I have been a Mopar fan for a long time (that is all that I own). I needed new brakes on the front end of my 2007 Ram 1500, 4x4 four door pick-up ( the originals finally wore out). I usually do all of my own maintenance work on my vehicles, so I purchased new rotors, brake pads and small parts kit at my local parts supplier. Once I got into the job, I discovered that my new pads were much larger than the ones on my truck. Thinking that the counter man had made a mistake, I checked online to see what the correct part number was. The counter man had given me the correct part, apparently the factory had installed the brakes for a two door truck on my four door truck. These brake pads are significantly smaller than what should have been installed. I feel, that as a result, my safety has been compromised. My truck is equipped with a hemi which has had several power adders installed, and I occasionally tow a trailer with it. With these smaller brakes, I no longer feel as safe as I did, I wonder how many times in the past my brakes were ready to fade, and I was unaware. I am just reporting this to alert other owners to be aware that they might have the same condition as me. I feel that Chrysler did me a disservice and showed a certain lack of regard for my safety, and the safety of those that I share the road with. I am now in the process of researching which parts are the correct parts for my truck so that I may replace them for my peace of mind. The truck is my baby, so I wont consider getting rid of it. I still like Mopar, and their styling, but I am extremely disappointed in them. As of this writing, there have been no consequences, but I will be changing My Front end parts till I can have the bigger safer brakes.
