Ram Automobile Model 2011 Ram Dakota
2011 Ram Dakota
The 2011 Ram Dakota is a midsize pickup truck that was produced by Ram Trucks, a division of Chrysler Group LLC (later known as FCA US LLC and now part of Stellantis). The Dakota was a versatile truck known for its towing and hauling capabilities, as well as its comfortable ride and spacious interior.
Here are some key features and specifications of the 2011 Ram Dakota:
Engine Options: The 2011 Ram Dakota offered two engine options:
3.7-liter V6 engine: This engine produced around 210 horsepower and 235 lb-ft of torque.
4.7-liter V8 engine: This more powerful option generated approximately 302 horsepower and 329 lb-ft of torque.
Transmission: The engines were paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission or an optional 5-speed automatic transmission. While not as advanced as more modern transmissions, they were reliable and served their purpose.
Drive Options: The Ram Dakota was available in both rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and four-wheel-drive (4WD) configurations. The 4WD system provided enhanced off-road capabilities and traction in various driving conditions.
Towing and Payload Capacity: The Dakota was capable of towing trailers and hauling payloads. The exact towing and payload capacity varied depending on the engine, drivetrain, and optional towing packages.
Crew Cab and Extended Cab: The Dakota was offered in both Crew Cab and Extended Cab configurations, providing seating for up to five passengers in the Crew Cab and additional storage space behind the front seats in the Extended Cab.
Interior and Features: The interior of the 2011 Ram Dakota was relatively spacious and offered various features, depending on the trim level. Available features included power windows and locks, a touchscreen infotainment system, and available leather seating.
Safety Features: Standard safety features included front airbags, side-curtain airbags, antilock brakes (ABS), and electronic stability control (ESC).
Trim Levels: The 2011 Ram Dakota was available in different trim levels, offering various features and options to suit different preferences and needs.
End of Production: The 2011 model year marked the end of the Dodge/Ram Dakota's production. The Dakota was discontinued after the 2011 model year, and Ram Trucks shifted its focus to full-size pickup trucks.
As with any used vehicle, it's essential to conduct a pre-purchase inspection and obtain a vehicle history report to assess its condition and maintenance history. For the latest and most accurate information, I recommend consulting official Ram sources or visiting a Ram dealership.

Ram Automobile Model 2011 Ram Dakota
I am the original owner of a 2008 Ram 2500 w/ Cummins 6.7L engine. The truck has been serviced religiously. I purchased the vehicle because Cummins has a stellar reputation. Or so I thought. As soon as the warranty expired, the engine computer motherboard failed. The cost was $3,000.00 and it took three trips to the dealer to completely install the motherboard correctly. Hey, things happen, correct? Recently, I have had a consistent engine light on. At 70,000 miles, I took the vehicle in for service. After a diagnosis, the code of P2262 was the most prevalent code and it signifies a turbo failure. Replacement cost is $4,901.00. I called Dodge to express my concern and they refused to stand behind their product. While I have researched blogs and forums for a reasonable solution, at the end of the day, I have a Cummins diesel engine, with two major failures, before the vehicle turns 70,250 miles. This is an inferior product with an inferior organization (Chrysler-Dodge) standing behind it. Run, dont walk, away from FCA (Fiat Chrysler).
Bought a Dodge Ram 1500 new on 3/3/2008. It came with lifetime power train warranty. Today, the trucks engine broke down and Chrysler is nullifying the warranty. Their reasoning is that there was an inspection due at the five-year point and it was not done. My problem is that the first time I heard of this inspection was today.
Purchased 2011 Ram truck with Uconnect. The GPS dont have any data without an update. Why would the original data be removed when the truck changes owners?
Purchased my first Ram April 2013 because of the gas mileage. I own a business and opted for cars in the past because I drive about 45,000 miles a year. I now have 83,000 trouble free miles on it. The gas mileage is as advertised and the 3.6 six is powerful enough since I do not tow. My dealership is exceptional, Reagle Dodge in Banger. The fit and finish is excellent and up to import standards. I never had to return to the dealer for driving issues. Only problem I had was with the connect that was replaced. Reading other reviews the dealer you buy from is important.
Bought a brand new 2016 Ram Rebel off the show room floor and drove it home. Noticed a smell and looked under truck and saw fluid leaking for transmission. Dealer said it was all different parts but in the end they had to replace the trans. They had it for a week and a 1/2, said it was done so I picked it up then the shifting felt like the trans. was going to fall out. Brought it back the next day. They said they put the wrong program in and installed the correct program. Picked up that night, just to see they hit the driver side mirror and marked it. Called to let them know the next day. No one seems to care, still waiting for them to have their detail person call me, truck still smells like its burning something and it comes into the cab. Took it back. They said the radiator fan cover fell off and they reinstalled it. They think that was the burning smell. Picked it up, drove home and still smell the burning.Brought it back. They kept the truck over the weekend and on Monday night they said it was ready. Came back and they said they cant find no leaks but it still smells. They said it could be from the trans. oil that leaked all over the exhaust, and it could take 3 or more months for the smell to go away but they dont know where its coming from, I made an appointment with another dealer to hopefully get this fixed. The truck stickers at $51,700 and I guess RAM trucks are suppose to run like $500 oil burning cars.NOW for Chrysler care support they suck worse than the dealer. I have been assigned several different case managers that never call you back even though they say within 24 hrs. BS, I had my truck back before they even got a hold of the dealership. Then even though I have been taking it to the dealership they said it had been over 30 days and I would have to start a new case file so I did then I was assigned David who I had to call back because it had been over 2 days, even though their people say within 24 hrs. So David tells me he cant get a hold of the dealership thats why he was not calling me back. I told him I had made another appointment at a different dealership to maybe see if another dealership can fix it. I asked him if he could arrange a loaner car for me and he kept talking about how the other dealership hasnt called him back so I asked him if he was even listening to what I had been saying. He didnt even know what I was talking about.I think he was playing Pokemon Go on his phone instead of listening. I asked for him to transfer me to his supervisor. He said he couldnt. I asked him for his supervisors name and I would call them. He said he couldnt give me that information. I asked him if he knew his supervisors name even, so I hung up and called Chrysler back and was on hold for like 25 min before someone answered then I was give elevated alert and was sent to another person who told me I was being assigned to another case person not her but that person will get back to me within 24 hrs. Again this has not happened, but that will be another story Im sure, but the Shylo women I spoke to but couldnt take my case. Told me that they are not allowed to give supervisors names out, that is company policy so if you have an idiot for a case manager you have no recourse to talk to someone above him to get your car fixed. In my two months, of dealing with Chrysler I havent had a case manager that has been competent and able to fix my car or even get a hold of any of the dealerships. None of the case managers call within the 24 hours that is promised by lower Chrysler care employees; normally it takes around 4-5 days to get a callback or even after the truck goes into the dealer to get serviced, and they just say so is the truck fixed now? I believe Chrysler care is just a way to slow down the process of getting your car repaired. Think they are a way to piss you off so you either trade or sell the truck without them having to do a buy back or actually spend the money to fully fix the truck.I have bought 4 Rams and 5 Jeep Wranglers in the last 5 years. I really like my new truck other than I have already made 6 this will be my 7th trip to the dealership in hopes to get it fixed. If things dont turn around and the truck doesnt get fixed it looks like Ill be spending my money on Ford trucks instead. I feel sorry for anyone that has to deal with Chrysler care, now that I am in this crappy situation trying to get my vehicle repair. I guess when they say Ram trucks are the longest lasting trucks on the road, it is because they spend most of their time in the shop rather than the road like it should.
We took our 2008 truck to the garage to get it fixed, cost us $700.00. Now, they are telling us the tie rod needs to be replaced. The mechanic that my husband talked to said that you now have to replace the whole thing, that they changed it; it is going to cost us around $1,000.00 to get this replaced. We have a family to take care of and thought we were buying something at $500.00 a month that we could depend on. If they changed the part within the last 2 years because of problems, why is the part not a recall? I keep telling my husband I will never and I mean never own another Dodge! This is the second Dodge truck that we have owned since 2005. The first one was a Dodge 2002 and we had nothing but problems with that also. You want to make them and have us pay a lot of money for them but dont want to stand behind them. I just dont understand. Not a very happy mom in WV.
My new Ram 1500 started having a burnt oil smell coming through the vents at about 400 miles. It is worse when sitting still or at an idle. Been to local dealer with no luck. I was told there is no issue, its a new truck. Opened up a case with Chrysler and my case worker told me that dealer advised him I should take it back to original dealer. Original dealer could find nothing. Changed the oil, first change at the dealer. Same issue once I got back home and came to a stop. It was bad enough that the burnt oil smell released into the air of my 2.5 car garage. An half hour later my entire garage smelled like burnt oil.
I purchased my Ram 1500 on May 4th 2015. It is a 2014. It had 3500 miles on it when I purchased it. When I asked the salesman why his reply was they had to drive it here. I bought right into that. But with all that aside I paid $32,000.00 cash and after driving it for a month I wanted to add rear view camera and GPS. I was told that I could and a step side so I took it in to have it done at the tune of$2100.00. No problem. Then I was called to be informed that they could not install GPS. I am very disappointed. I really needed it installed. I have the 500 series radio. Can you help me? I love my truck.
Hate this truck! This truck is an insult to real trucks. It cant tow anything with any weight. Every time you turn around something goes out on it. I recently saw a study that shows the front will completely crush if youre in a head-on crash. Thats not a surprise, but it is scary!
Since we got the Ram Dodge 2007 1500 pickup in 2008 from the dealership, the 4 wheel drive truck will all of a sudden die when I hit some bumps on our dirt road where we live (I am not 4 wheeling either, I have kids in the car). This happens randomly. We have taken it in now for 3 times. First time, they said they saw that it happened on the computer. However, the second and third time, they said they didn’t see it and that it was because my key chain was too heavy. Since 2008, it has died while driving on my dirt road at least 8 times. I just pray it never does it on a bumpy road, on the freeway or highway. Does anyone else have this problem? I don’t take it to the dealership anymore because they say it is because of my keys. Well, I changed it so now it is light so it can’t be that.
I purchased a 2006 Dodge Ram Quad cab (3/4 ton diesel pickup). I wanted a good pulling pickup that would get better gas mileage than my gas pickup. It did not happen. When I asked the service guy, he said it needed a break-in. Why did my niece get almost 30 miles to the gallon on her diesel with a load and an automatic while I get 9 miles to the gallon with a load and a manual shift? Did I get the shaft?
My engine on my 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 Ecodiesel 3.0L seized at 14K miles... Towed to Dodge in Yuba City, Ca. They charged me $1200 plus, to tell me that is my fault and water went into the engine by opening the pan!!! No water went, they are full of it... I am getting the second opinion at the Machine shop. I spoke to the owner, and he will give me the exact cause by opening the engine apart.
I am very meticulous with cleaning my truck (2009 Dodge Ram Diesel) because I like it, spent a lot of money on it, and want it to last. Every time I wash it, which is usually once a week, I thoroughly sponge wash the interior of all wheel wells. Now I started noticing bubbles in the paint over the rear wheel wells. While at the dealership for a tie rod recall I had the service manager at Hoffman Chrysler/Dodge, Hagerstown, MD looked at the rust development. He agreed that as clean as the truck is kept that it should not be rusting. He gave me an (800) number for Chrysler and said I could even offer his name for verification. I called and they made me feel foolish for even calling. Actually told me he shouldnt have given me the number and that it wasnt something they were responsible for. In my opinion Chrysler knows they have a manufacturing problem for 1000s of their trucks to be rusting out in the same areas in such a short time. I love the truck but could never purchase another Dodge. None of my Fords or Chevys ever rusted out in 5 years. By the way, I was notified of the tie rod recall and it took 10 months for Chrysler to get the parts to the dealership for replacement. They were sending them one at a time and there were lots of owners on the list for the recall just at my dealer alone. You pay a lot of money for these Diesel trucks and once you drive away they act like its not a problem for them to rust away in 5 years. :-(
I cant move my steering column away from my knees! I was adjusting it and went to low apparently and now it will not come up! Additionally, the cruise control only works half the time and now Ive read that there is a recall on the Dodge Ram Hemi 2014-2016 for the airbags in this steering wheel. I seriously feel unsafe in this vehicle. Traded in a 2014 Chevy Silverado because we wanted a lower monthly payment and ended up only getting a $55 per month break and all these problems. I knew better than to get a Dodge. For as expensive as this vehicle is, its not worth more than my life.
Bought an 05 Ram 1500 Daytona new in 05. Spent months in shop trying to fix pulling issues and loud pop in front suspension after being just weeks old. Final fixed. Now in 2015 I have had 4 sets of sway bar end links installed, new ball joints, control arm parts, tie rod ends, etc. THE TRUCK HAS ONLY 47,000 miles, the entire front suspension was shot at 38,000 miles. This is a 2-wheel drive, never wrecked, well-cared for California truck. Dodge claims no recalls of problem on this model or year. Dodge seems to play dumb on issues that have been present since purchase. Now for the 2015 (wife insisted on another Dodge) this is a very expensive fully loaded 4x4. All the bells and whistles (her truck) bought on a Friday. On Sunday noticed a 3x1 section of paint on door edge peeling. Returned to dealer and was told I had damaged the paint. Spent months working with Dodge corp. trying to get fixed. Finally after being told they would not fix because they deemed it damage not defect I ended up paying $1,100 to have repaired at an auto body shop who took pics, wrote statement that its a defect, sent all to Dodge and was denied again. DODGE WARRANTY IS A JOKE. We will never buy a Chrysler product again.
Bought Ram 1500 Ecodiesel Laramie three years ago and absolutely no issues. Great vehicle; tows a large bass fishing boat up hills with ease. Excellent fuel mileage. Smoother ride than most sedans and other SUVS I have traveled in. Great sound system.
I purchased my 2014 Ram back in Sept of 2015 as a left over. I noticed rust marks bleeding onto the paint on the rear wheel lips. Upon closer inspection I noticed the seam on the wheelhouse was rusting and bleeding out on to the paint. I took the plastic liner out and drove truck to dealer so they could submit photos to Rams digital imaging. After not hearing from dealer for over a month I contacted them and they told me they denied claim, that I had to call so consumer complaint number which I did and was a total waste of time because the person said he could not do anything for me.Then it got brought to regional manager who admitted that Dodge is aware this is an issue but doesnt want to pay to have it fixed properly. SO THEY ADMIT THAT THEIR TRUCKS HAVE DEFECT BUT ARE NOT WILLING TO FIX IT! So now Im stuck with a one year old truck with 17,000 miles rusting. I have contacted a attorney and am going to start the process of taking them to court. I really enjoy the truck otherwise and am refusing to lose money for someone elses poor workmanship.
At 35000 km, my Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins developed a coolant leak. Its so serious that it was towed the dealership. As it turned out, one of the 2 bolts that hold the pump in place had come right out. Now, it gets good! I was told that they have to order this bolt. One bolt, what could be special about this bolt that it could not be found anywhere but at a MOPAR warehouse? While my truck was in the shop, I asked that they look at the recall, front end, and tie rod. As it turned out again, I need new tie rod ends. They have to be ordered. I was told they would be ordered with the bolt. The next day, the bolt was in and installed; the tie rod parts were not shipped. First, Im told by the service manager that they were not aware that one was needed when in fact I was told the day before. Then I was told that there is a limit to how many tie rods they are allowed to order per week! Really?
I purchased two 2016 Dodge Ram 3500 in 2017. Had one only a few months and had to have it lined up and dealership had to replace one front tire. Second truck the dealership paid to get it lined up a month after we purchased it. We had it lined up again 6 months later. So now this truck has the two front tires wearing out on the outer thread at about 20,000 miles and 5 months after the last line up. The first truck we purchased has 26,000 miles on it and the front passenger tire (the one replaced a yr ago is wearing out on the outer edge as well. Dealership does not know why this is happening. They say because we did not rotate the tires every 5000 miles (we would have to do this in between oil changes). Then they said it was because we drive around too many curves. (What the heck.) They want to put these tires on the back inside duels so DOT can ding us on bald tires. They said the back tires are worn a little because of over inflation and we never put air in them since we purchased the truck. They cannot tell us why the tires on these trucks are wearing so now we have to purchase new tires every 20,000 miles or less?? Oh and the first truck has to have ball joints replaced. They do not want to do anything to help and they said the Big Wigs at Dodge says they have no reason to believe that there has been enough issues with these trucks to warrant them doing anything about it. GOOD old USA auto manufacturers. I thought our Ford trucks were a headache but these suck.
I have a 2013 Dodge ram 3500 4x4 diesel dually. Im on my 3rd set of front tires. The truck has 36000 miles on it. Will not hold a front alignment. Dodge is aware of this problem and offers no repair solutions. The tires are worn out before the recommended oil change.
While driving my 3 week old 2015 Ram 1500 the truck computer shifted from drive to park while I was traveling at 40 mph. This sudden shift caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and has scared me enough to never drive the truck again.
I called the dealership about my 2014 Dodge 1500 Outdoorsman with a bunch of problems. It has only 40.000 km on it. I have to pump the brakes. The service advisor said this was normal. Both bumpers are rusting. I was told it is residual rust by the service advisor. The first time and the second time it was due to road sand and was not warrantied. The truck will do random horn honk and door lock at lights or just sitting parked. It wont do it at the dealer so it is my problem. Engine has bad chain and lifter noise after being parked for 3 to 5 days but the service advisor told me this is normal for that type of engine. After a few hours of driving it starts to get a right hub howl but it wont do it at the dealership so it is my problem until it breaks. After driving a few hours on the highways when you slow down for a light you get different cluck. But because it wont do it at the dealership it is my problem until it breaks. I have reported all this to Chrysler Canada but their answer is well if the dealer cant find it or wont do it at the dealership then wont do anything and the rusting bumpers is normal wear due to road conditions. I payed extra for extended warranty even tire warranty. If I hadnt pay the truck off I would have driven it back to the dealership and walked away. They tell me I can come down and trade it one.
I bought my 2017 Ram 2500 6.4 2/12 months ago. The truck when purchased had 11 miles in it. The day after I purchased the truck I started in driveway and noticed a puff of blue smoke. Went a couple days and noticed it 75% of the time. Called dealer with 200 miles on truck and they said to call them back at 500. It was just breaking in. I called them back at 500 and they said to give it until 1000 miles. At about 1500 miles I made them give me an appointment. It was over 2 quarts low on oil. They saw the smoke and topped it off. Now they have me doing an oil consumption test? Every 500 miles I have to go to dealer and they check it and top it off!It is averaging between a half a quart to 3/4 of a quart each time. They claim it is protocol that I have to do this up until 7500 miles! That nothing can be done until the break-in period but monitor it! This is insane! I have to drive to dealer every 500 miles. The truck is going to burn over 5 quarts before its first oil change! The warranty people on phone said this is normal protocol! Soooo over $40,000 on new truck, 5 quarts of oil per oil change and people coming up to me constantly telling me my brand new truck sure was smoking when I started it up (extremely embarrassing). Lesson learned.
This is my second Ram and it will be the last. I needed a good reliable truck since I travel for a living in it. So I purchased a brand 2014 Ram 1500 crew cab in June 2014. I have put 15k mile on it and love the room and performance of my truck. However, the 8 speed transmission has issues and was in shop for a day. Note: It took 3 weeks for the dealer to get the parts. Im not sure if it’s been fixed since I only got to drive it for about 3 weeks and then it had a major oil leak. I took it to my dealer on Dec. 19th and today is Jan. 3rd and I still do not have my truck. The dealership told me it would be 3 weeks, which is stupid! So, I contacted Dodge and they cannot give me a reason other than they are trying to locate a part. I was referred to a case manager whom hasnt returned any of my 4 calls. Also, I was given the part mgr. number at corp. office. Once again, No return phone calls. I like my truck but, I will not deal with this lack of service from Dodge Ram Trucks. My dealer has been great to deal with but this new V-6 has issue with the oil filter housing and the 8 speed transmission does too. I thought I was buying the truck of the year. But I made a big mistake. Buyer Beware. I wouldnt recommend anyone purchase this truck unless you are looking for trouble.
Under 10,000 miles and truck began shutting down because of DEF injectors. Happened 6 times! Injectors replaced, now many miles later, my truck is in the shop and they are telling me, gonna cost $2,000.00 to fix DEF. This is overwhelming to say the least. Same problem. Never will I purchase a Dodge again.
2006 dodge 3500 dually diesel 4x4 megacab - Love my truck dont get me wrong. Paying for it is one thing, keeping it on road is another. Not looking for legal action but want to say I was very happy when warranty was over and didnt have to listen to Dodge dealers lie to me and repeatedly bring my truck in to be left for entire days to fix minor things repeatedly. Unfortunately first major repair as failed transmission which was just after warranty. Bought truck new and never abused a day, never towed more than 27 travel trailer and did all recommended service. Before warranty was up needed steering pump, tie rod fell off in driveway, many u-joints, rear of vehicle issues and vibrations, tach is sporadic, wiper motor, and more. At 76000 km they said e brake was screwed and as a favor would do work if I bought $1100 worth of parts because they were fixing warranty stuff anyway... I did. Now Im suspicious and curious about the e brake because I just paid a good shop $1900 to rebuild it because the e brake blew apart, my rotors were garbage, seals were taken out and such.... why? I have never abused truck or even used the e brake (may be one problem) and most kms are highway. 147000 kms on a 2006 in 2014.... never abused. I work away a lot and just want to go home and enjoy sports trips with kids... I am leaving out a lot but Im tired of writing and am still very pissed about recent bill. Am I missing something? Mechanic thinks I drove with e brake on for damage I had... I did not! Used to call truck my baby, but to save face I call her my old girl now. :) Wife begs me to buy a new truck. Funny thing is I bought this because its my dream truck and only way I could afford it was to purchase over 8 years like a moron... so Im still paying for it, lol. Dont know how long I will keep it because I really do love driving it and would die without mega cab but.... do the repairs ever end? Divorce over a truck? ;)
My truck has had issues with shifting since the day I bought it. The salesman told me it just needs to be broken in. I have 40,000 miles and now they have to put a new transmission in and they are starting out with only replacing a solenoid. Meanwhile I have no car. I research this now and see several complaints on transmissions and engines. Not happy with this vehicle at all.
I just purchased my 5th Dodge Truck 2012 2500 Super Duty Crew Cab, had leather installed in by dealer and console was very hard to open. So I was told they will order a new cover and install it. I also told them for the second time that my automatic transmission is banging when I go from park to reverse and drive, was told that they put it on the computer and it was a stabilizer bar that needed some grease. They were closing but trans problem is still banging. What is my next move? I do not want to give the name of the dealer because they are all nice to me when I drop my truck off and go out of the way to help you. I just want my truck with problem switched out or correct the problem.
2012 Ram 3500. Had this truck 2 1/2 years. Its had the high mount stop light replaced 3xs to correct a water leak. Not confident its fixed, only seems to last a few months. Had radio updated 3xs before replacing to fix the nav system. The major issue is that when I slow or come to a stop I get diesel exhaust fumes coming from the vents. I have complained to the dealer about 4xs about this, they can never find anything. Last trip in last week they smelled the exhaust and replaced the EGR. Picked up truck Saturday, drove it Monday and same issue. Started a case with Chrysler. They called back and asked what is my expected outcome? Really told them take the truck and give me my money back, just dont think they know how to correct the issue and its to the point no one will ride in the truck. This is nasty, not to mention a health hazard. This is my 1st & last Chrysler product Ill ever buy.
Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel is a great truck. No problems. 2015 Ram Cummins. All option heated seats, steering nav, I have used truck to run my farm. I would buy another. Ave 18-19 mph not towing.
Took my 2012 ram 3500 Dually in for service.. Repair front hubs, bearings, front steering stabilizer, and 4-wheel drive transfer case, alignment... Also to fix the warning lights that keep coming on (Service 4-wheel drive, ABS light and brake light).. Ok so got all this done at Arrigo Dodge in West Palm Beach.. They had the truck for 12 days... Got it back and transfer case making a binding noise, lights are still on, and front end now pulls to the right... Take it back to them and they have it another week.. Pick it up and the lights come on again.. Ok so now I tell the service guy I need to drive to Colorado 1800 miles. Is the truck safe? He said Yes dont worry about the warning lights. Just have it looked at when you get there. If they stay on... Well Im not a mechanic so I drive it there not realizing that the ABS brakes dont work when those lights are on.. And Im pulling a 24-ft trailer... So I get to Florida take it to the Dodge dealer to get it checked out. The dealer checked out the truck... Come to find out the alignment was done wrong which wore the 2 front tires to the core and they put the wrong chain in the transfer case and used the wrong sealant in the transfer case.. The Dodge dealer in FL was contacted by the Dodge dealer in Colorado and this was brought to their attention. And the spec sheets and repair diagnostic was given to the dealer who incorrectly did the work the first time (Arrigo Dodge WPB). The Colorado Dodge dealer said that the dealer who fixed the truck originally should pay for the repairs.. I contacted them several times even speaking to the owner of the Dodge dealer, getting nowhere.. Now Im out 1500 dollars and that is not right.. Let alone I put my family in danger since the Colorado Dodge dealer said there could have been a bad accident due to the repairs.. I think that the original dealer should be liable for the repairs cost... Thats why we take our truck to the dealership to get worked on by certified mechanic.. To be safe and right... Again Im not a mechanic... Thank God nobody got serious hurt on the road... That would be a law suit waiting to happen...
From day 1 when I drove off the lot I called dealer and said brakes are squeaking and grinding. They said too bad get new brakes, lol. Yep seriously brand new van. So I have taken it for a weekly oil change for 2 months and said brakes are bad and have been told no it is my imagination. So now that the warranty is out they say I need to pay them 500 for new brakes. They are worn to metal on 2 month old van. The coolant leaks. There is a hole in the floor of the van, a mid-weld, the headliner does not meet pastis and is frayed, one recall cant be fixed. No parts and dont know when they will have them. The leaf spring bushings are bad and the van squeaks going down road. So 2 issues are dangerous safety issues. Chrysler will not fix anything. I had a 10 year old Sprinter that I should have kept. This is complete junk and Ram Chrysler has zero customer care. Do not buy one, this may put me out of business. The pic is the hole in floor. Notice you can see the ground outside
When buying a vehicle normally buy to use not to always to be in the shop for repairs and waiting on parts or recalls. Frustration part is Ram dont care. If they would have developed a good vehicle from the start the EcoDiesel owners would not have this problem. Have tried to get Ram to buy back or supplement rebate on a gas truck with no success. Buyers beware of Rams EcoDiesels. If buying a truck to have at home think twice.
I Love my truck from inside out, if Ive ever had a problem they were right on it. Im an female but I wanted a truck and Im so glad I chose the Ram. It looks and feels top of the line and didnt break the bank!
I have never owned a bigger heap of junk. I bought a 2014 Ram 2500 diesel brand new with 249 kilometers on it and at 300 it went in because the 3rd brake light on roof filled with water shorted out and caught fire. Truck was 2 days old. Had to rent a car while being fixed. Then ever since that issue it has broke down every 1000 kilometers since. As of today (December 7, 2018) truck has had over a hundred repairs. On its 5th set of new tires second complete set of brakes oil pan has fell off twice trans pan once. Track bar 3 times now. Two front ends and endless wiring issues. Now if all that isnt enough apparently they need constant 150$ radio updates and it doesnt let you know. Just one day doesnt start. Tried lemon law and they dont cover anything larger than 1500. Tried trade in. Its worthless. This truck has scared me to not ever buy another new vehicle again. Its been replaced with a 1980 Chevrolet K30. My paperwork I built for the lawyer handling my case on truck is over an 1-1/4 thick. If you ever thought about what its like to own a Dodge let me tell you. Id rather run through a live minefield wearing snowshoes and get a kick to groin repeatedly for an hour than buy or ride in another fiat deathtrap.
I have the 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie and I love it! It drives wonderfully, and I love all the bells and whistles and features it has and how smooth it drives and rides. Very comfortable for the whole family! However, Ive been wanting to have a lift done eventually, and work done on muffler/exhaust to make it sound louder/rumblier. Ive always disliked wood paneling and wish car makers would work away from wood paneling, it looks cheap. But I like the moon/sunroof, heated/cooling front seats, heated back seats, heated steering wheel, Bluetooth voice command Uconnect and black exterior and interior. It is extremely comfortable for both front and back seats!
The truck is great but we cant seem to solve the problem of the radio. We were without the truck for three days. The radio problem was supposedly fixed by giving us a new radio. 50 miles later we are experiencing the exact same problem! HELP!
I bought the truck used from a Dodge dealership. Used it. Had 58,000 miles on it. I was shocked I got the loan so I planned on keeping the truck for a while. When it hit 102,000 miles (out of nowhere!) I lose the transfer case and the transmission (and I never abused the truck). Actually bought a new transfer case from dodge. Cost me $3,500 and cost me the same for the transmission I had rebuilt. 30,000 miles later the same thing happen to me. I lose both of them. To make a long story short I replaced 3 transmissions and 3 transfer cases.Got the same thing from dodge about transfer case out of warranty. I swear there was a defect in the truck when it was made, I took it to good people not on backyard mechanics. No one to this day could figure out why. I would of placed a suit against dodge for all the money I spent because trucks just dont do that. The truck was never wrecked either. Last winter I put a Jasper trany and Jasper transfer case in it. Had my truck maintained all the time. Last Nov. I had to change everything because it blew out dry shafts muffler pipes. It vibrating and no one can figure it out. WELL I am extremely happy to say I got another loan and I bought me a Ford F250 Super Duty. I will never buy a Dodge Ram ever again. They would have to give it to me for me drive it.
I have a 2008 Dodge Ram truck. I purchased an extended warranty to 100,000 miles. At 95,000 miles, I took the truck in complaining it would not go backwards when in reverse. They talked me into servicing the transmission and said it was fine. At 102,103 miles the reverse clutches in the transmission fell apart and caused the transmission to go out. I thought Dodge would back their product but they said, sorry, the warranty had expired. I really thought this was supposed to be a Ram Tough Dodge Truck but found out otherwise. I had to spend $4,600 to get the truck fixed.
2012 Ram ST 4x4 Hemi: Love this truck. All I hear is in 2.5 million trucks sold over past 5 years is a few problems from people who bought used trucks. Yes I had things fixed under warranty. This truck drives great and has excellent power. I feel your pain. I drive in 4wd all the time. Long road trips are a delight. 125k miles now. Bottom line the trucks are not made to last forever. Dont beat them up... too much.
So I bought a 2013 Ram 1500 last Sept. Its been a year now and I have had nothing but problems. After only owning it a week, it had an air leak in the cab. Next the cruise didnt work properly. Took them 2 visits to the shop to get the leak fixed - cruise to this day still wont work properly. Then it had trouble starting - took it in. Now they tell me it needs new fuel injectors. Took them 4 months to finally get them installed. Only because I called and called! Then my sat. radio stopped working and a few days later my radio just keeps turning on and off!! Also randomly my wipers stopped working. The paint is cracked on 2 spots - whats next? I bought this because Im just starting out a new family and thought by getting new, I could count on no problems. What do I do next... Really want to get out of this truck and into something else!
The Dodge Diesel 2500 is a strong powerful truck with exceptional towing capability. Reasonable fuel consumption. With routine service and maintenance, this vehicle will last 300,000 miles or more.
Bought a 2013 Dodge Ram. At 122000 Mi started to get a lifter tick in it. Took it to the dealer, was told for the amount of $9,000 I needed to replace the engine. Apparently Chrysler released a service bulletins with this very problem Im here. I have been a loyal Dodge owner for 30 years but to be left out here hanging on here and basically told too bad your $50,000 truck is a piece of junk is disappointing at best. I will never buy a Dodge product ever again.
The new 12 Inch Electronic/Radio Display System doesnt work. Unable to make hands free phone calls, or access their Uconnect on vehicle support service because there is high levels of static and very low volume. This $70,000 truck has been back to the dealer twice, within the first month of ownership. Both times, the dealer was unable to repair the problem. They claim they have been in touch with the RAM Techline, who instructed them to run an updated software download. They did it, but it did not repair the problem. I have now been told I have to wait, Possible as long as December for the next new software download. Why they think that software update will work, given they said the first software update they completed was supposed to fix the problem and it didnt. In addition to the technology problems Ive experienced, the optional hard bed cover leaks!!DONT make the same mistake I did. I owned Chevy trucks for 15 years, but decided to try a Dodge. DONT make the same mistake I did and buy this truck. Unfortunately Im one of those people RAM refers to in the advertising campaign by saying: More People Are Switching To RAM. All I can say in response to that campaign slogan is More People Are Being Disappointed With RAM!!!
2014 Dodge Ram 3/4 Ton Diesel Laramie - The day I brought the truck home It showed a problem with the tire sensors. I called the dealer to make appointment asap and since then it has been in 3 times for the same problem this time now they have had it for seven days and still nothing! I do believe the dealer is trying but Chrysler is not interested or really not into customer service. The only answer I get is Chrysler engineering is working on it (BS). This is the first Dodge I have ever owned and will most likely be the last. I have always bought Ford Trucks but all my friends had Dodges and talked very highly of them so thought I would try - bad mistake. Call me if you want more details.
The 2001 Dodge Durango is the biggest mistake of my life. About 16 months ago, I bought a 2001 Dodge Durango. I only had it for 9 months when the engine started to make a loud, knocking noise. I kept all my oil dates and maintained the vehicle as needed. I was told that I needed a new engine. Not only that, but I had several issues with steering and air conditioning. I bought the truck because of the Dodge reputation of being a good vehicle. Now, I owe money on a truck; and Im paying for something I cant drive. Instead of fixing it, I am going to have to junk it. I am truly disappointed in Dodge. I have lost so much money for nothing. I am asking for help before I decide to junk the truck. Can anyone help me?
This is my third Ram, 2006, 2012 and now 2016. This is by far the worst truck I have ever owned, and the worst dealer service experience! The dealer was in too much of a hurry to put me in a truck, they failed to hear my needs and wants, from the get go with a salesperson who was actually a corporate rep, visiting the dealership this day. He did not listen to my towing needs, and everything he promised me for free (thrown in) was just added to my bill of sale, and my application was for 0% down, 0% financing - and in the end was 3.49%, which was not communicated to me at all.So, first I did not end with a hitch receiver, towing mirrors, or brake module - I had to buy a receiver for $300 and a brake module for $500 plus $90 to program it. I was forced to buy this, as the dealer would not help me and I had to move my trailer promptly. Second the rep promised me the truck could tow my trailers and handle the capacities. The truck falls short by 3000 lbs. because the 8 speed trans. and 3:21 rear gear combo are ** - something the rep failed to even look at and confirm capacities - and assured me that this truck could handle my towing needs. NOT!The truck: the front end is loose - rattles over tracks and bumps, shakes violently on highway (death wobble close) - tires have been balance three times, steering column shakes and rattles, transmission growls, shudders, clunks (when putting into gear or decelerating), vibrates on highway. Rear end clunks, tow haul button doesnt work, gas gauge glitches, headlight out of aim, antenna loose, leather seat clips came off, door weather strip fell off, hood is not aligned with fender, led lights fell out of back seat. When towing my 3500 lb. trailer in tow haul mode the trans. feels like it wants to explode (loud growling and vibration) at any speed. This experience may be only from my particular truck and dealer but I feel it warrants this submission!
I traded my 16 F150 for a 19 Ram 1500 and I didnt look back. The Ram ride is smooth, the acceleration is quick, but not jerky. The 8 speed transmission is a little indecisive when its shifting, but it doesnt make the truck ride any different. I did have an issue with my Google maps showing me in Colorado, but after an update everything is working fine.
April 2017 I purchased a 2006 Dodge Ram from Mak Haik. In June 2018 the wheel separated from the vehicle sending the vehicle into a few flips. The airbags never deployed for me the driver or my passenger.
Bought my RAM December 2013. First week had water on floors, leak. Bertarra ignored me, said it was winter. Started going to another dealership. They found third brake light leaking. At 30000 miles needed front brakes, still had over half of original pad left. Chrysler corp would not cover premature wear. Now 2000 miles later same problem. Very unhappy with truck. I go out of my way to tell even strangers about my experience. These are not the only issues either... Hemi is week, truck shifts constantly, when in four cylinder mode the truck shudders, wont hold a gear on hills, very poor quality interior... I could go on.
I own a 2006 Dodge Ram 5.9l, I bought it new. 2yrs ago the truck wouldnt start. Took it to the dealer and was told the fuel was contaminated and the entire fuel system needed to be replaced. It wasnt under warranty due to the reasoning and they filed against my insurance for the $13,000.00 of repairs. Now 2 more years have gone by since then and we now have the same issue, again. This time $13,000.00 out of my pocket. After looking into it and researching...Bosch told Dodge the injectors and CP3 injection pump cannot handle trash in the fuel and that dodge needed to update their filter to a lower micron (2 micron filter), which they didnt and the consumers are out thousands of dollars. Im quite surprise there isnt a class action suit for this one yet.
2015 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel - Last fall our ECO was put in shop due to it violently shaking and losing all power. The dealership told me my fuel system imploded due to bad fuel. Had the station tested where I last received fuel... No infractions found so $6,500 later the entire fuel system was replaced. This was with less than 20,000 miles on truck. Yesterday with 30,763 miles it caught fire and is Totalled! Im sure they will blame it on something they think we did but I will never ever own another Ram Ecodiesel! Im so disappointed! So many people having issues with these Ecodiesel yet Chrysler isnt stepping up!
I have this car Dodge Dart SXT 2014 new and I have problems with idle, transmission shifting bad, front suspension noise and steering noise in cold temperature. I take my car to the dealer more than 3 times and they do nothing to fix the problems of my car. I am tired of the excuses of Dodge dealers. I want this problem fix.
Truck bought used with very low miles same year of model. Truck maintained, waxed, etc. Paint has totally come off, rust and mold began to form. Dodge says nothing wrong...sure!!! History has shown Dodge trucks do not hold paint and you will need a paint job eventually.
Just purchased a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 from Tate Dodge in Glen Burnie, MD 1 1/2 hrs away, 3 weeks ago. I started hearing a chirping noise at 5 mph on turns or driving straight after 4 days of purchasing. I took it to a closer Dodge dealer for inspection and they said truck has water damage . The technician says there is a lot of caked on mud, rust all the way in the bottom to top of vehicle. He explained that it shows signs of water damage. I explained this to Tate and they refused to refund me my money and no one has fixed the chirping sound.
I love my truck. Ive always been a Dodge person mainly because of their sleek design, roomy interior and safety features. Love the way it handles on and off the road. Mine is an extended cab and has plenty of leg room. Its a great all around truck. Its got the horsepower to get any job done and big enough for the whole family. The suspension on my year model wasnt too great but the manufacturer has really improved it in the newer models over the years.
The 2016 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman has exceeded my expectations for a pickup truck. I pull a 8000lb trailer with it and it performs beyond my expectations. Enough power to always have some reserve if needed. Pulled through the Rockies and engine oil and transmission fluid maintained normal temperatures despite working hard. The interior is the best of all the major trucks I looked at prior to purchasing it and the controls are all in locations easy to reach and utilize while driving. The ride is not stiff like the other trucks providing a more comfortable ride and the sway control is excellent which is important for heavy loads and trailering. All at a price $9,000.00 less than its competitors. I would recommend this vehicle to anybody who needs a truck.
When you drive, you feel safe. The vehicle feels so solid. I have been driving lightweight vehicles for years. No more! Gas mileage not bad either. It handles beautifully. Also roomy in front and rear. Seats easily fold down and slide. It is also beautiful, in my opinion.
I have been a brand loyalist since 1986. This is my 6th RAM truck. We factory ordered a 2018 2500 HD 6.4 SLT with the options we wanted and needed for towing. Truck was delivered 12/2017. The day after delivery we noticed an abnormal start up noise from the engine compartment. With less than 100 miles we took it into a local dealer for inspection. After 7 inspection, demonstration and repair visits. 21 days in service and 8 months of driving with a monoxide sensor on the dash. FCA determined that the truck exhaust leak could not be fixed. They offered to replace the truck or refund our money. We elected to order an exact replacement truck. Frankly, other than the exhaust leak, this is the best RAM truck we have owned. All other functions, features, performance and comfort are 5 star. We received the replacement truck 1/2019. At 80-100 miles the replacement truck developed the same noise. FCA, Ramcares and our dealer found it hard to believe that one customer could receive 2 factory defects for exhaust leak. We have asked FCA and our dealer to repair the leak. We are not going to order another truck or take our money back. This truck is going to be fixed. At this time we have not received a response to our request for repair. We have done a full investigation of this issue/problem. It is a known problem on some 2500 HD 6.4 trucks. The cause is in part the assembly process and in part the design and parts quality. We have gotten some great intelligent help from MOPAR parts people, RAM techs and the internet. We have decided to order the repair parts and have a qualified outside tech repair the truck properly at our expense. We will address FCA-RAM when the repairs are completed. Dodge-RAM has come a long way in product quality and customer satisfaction over the last 30 years. I believe the companys recent decision to have the head of RAM focus only on the RAM Brand will result in correction of these type of quality problems. However, senior management needs to get out in the field and engage the reputational risk that the brand is experiencing. The vendor parts quality issues and assembly issues can be fixed.
I have a 2014 Dodge 1500 Ecodiesel. I have had the injectors rebuilt, the inner cooler replaced. Now they say the turbo boost is bad, the exhaust system had to be cleaned. I only have 50,000 miles on it. Chrysler says they are working with the dealership to resolve the problem. I have had my truck for about 8 days in April. Its in the shop now with no idea when it will be done.
2015 Dodge Ram 3500 Dually. I really wanted to love this truck. I was coming from a Ford 6.0 let down, really loved the truck. Had I done a hair more work I would still have the truck. First, the alignment was bad from the day I drove it off the lot. Seemed fine but the front tires were bald, thread showing, by 35K. Replaced 2 front tires and Hogan Tire shop in Purcellville, VA told me they couldnt align the truck because a ball joint was bad. Furious, I took it to the Dodge dealer and they told me joints were all fine and measuring basically new. Oh, BTW, chose your dealer carefully. The dealer in NOVA cant align a big truck like this because his rack is too small, I was still within warranty for this. 10 hours+, not an exaggeration, of my time to determine the truck was fine and still needed an alignment. I use this heavy duty truck everyday and tow more than three times a week. 10 hours of down time kills me. I never aligned it, totally my fault. Truck was pulling like mad to the right. I have a seriously strong left arm from it. I have new tires and feel like I can ignore, 14K only a couple months in busy truck time, I realize the front right is really wearing badly. WTF, truck less than 50K and serious pull to the right and worn tires on the front, rear are still good. Take to local mech and he aligns, tightens it all.Less than a week later I notice the steering wheel is out of alignment. Each day I drive it is a little more out. I am hauling round bales and finally lose my ** with the steering, over 90 out. I take back to my alignment dudes and they say the lock nuts have backed off. Its a lock nut? What? Well Dodge has 2 nuts that are tightened against each other, not a lock nut, and one backed off. They small shop fixed and I trust the fix since we are over 2 weeks and steering has been rockstar since.Other things, I have had a check engine light since the mid 30K range. No ** the manual says the light will probably resolve itself in a few runs and should do that. Sure as ** that was the case. What they didnt say was that the problems were compounding. Truck was great except there were times we backed into the driveway and the exhaust was terrible, in town we had the same thing since we drive windows down a lot. Absolutely intolerable exhaust smell. We are coming from a 2005 Diesel that was pimped and the smell was appropriate.51K, and now I have a DEF malfunction. I drive this truck everyday. Put only the DEF in it from the store and the pretty plastic containers. I only have 125 miles to drive before it ** down? I have done everything right and this is what my over 50k in American dollars gets me? Oh, and the exhaust warranty is very specific. Dont think you get 8/80K, there are terms.
We bought a 3500 Dodge Ram diesel truck with 22,000. We purchased an extended warranty for six years or 100,000 miles. Chrysler is refusing to honor the warranty.
I am a dog trainer. I needed a good, dependable truck for my business. Lots of my friends have Dodge Rams (different versions) and one has over 400,000 miles on his Diesel. I pull horse trailers. I am on the road a lot and need good transport for dogs and me. So, after much research and recommendations of Dodge Ram, I decided to go that route. When I looked it up under consumer research articles, it was one of the highest recommended trucks on the road.Just last week (October, 2014), my dealership sent me a letter wanting to buy back my truck for a good sum. Stated this was the most popular model and they were in desperate need of them and had a waiting list of people. At that time, I had only $2,000.00 before paying off my Dodge Ram. I opted not to sell my truck to the dealership and trade up. I needed a vehicle that would last me at least 200,000 miles and keep me free of truck payments for at least 5 years. Then I would trade up, or not, depending on how well my truck was holding up. I have always done the proper maintenance on my truck when it was needed. Oil change, fluid changes and checks, tire rotations, new brakes, new tires and babied it, because hey, its a Dodge Ram and will last me at least 10 years or 200,000 miles. Needless to say, that was not to be. On a trip home from Illinois, just across the Indiana line, my truck blew the engine. When the mechanics checked my truck and took the head off, it showed every bit of 100,000 miles. After much discussion and more research, I was told that this particular model, 2008 dodge Ram 1500 had aluminum in the valves and should have had steel. No wonder it fell apart at 6,000 miles out of warranty. The story gets better. Because I lost compression in my truck, I lost almost all control of my brakes and steering. I was in Poseyville, Indiana at the time. It almost cost me a dog grooming parlor, but fortunately I was able to get the truck into the gravel parking lot and stopped. I have called around to see my options and presently I am at $5,000.00 to get a rebuilt engine and have it installed. My truck is at a friends in another state and it cost me $350.00 to have it towed to their house. Towing it back to Kentucky was financially out of the question. My full coverage insurance refunded me $80.00 of this. So, now I am out of a work vehicle and I have no vehicle to drive. That puts me in the position of making the rest of my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck payments (I owe a whomping $2000.00) and the cost of renting a car until I can save the money to have mine fixed. At that point I will have to sell it or whatever. But I still have to pay my house payment, utilities, office rent space for my business, etc.I am not whining, I am not feeling sorry for myself, so you haters and naysayers keep it to yourself. I am thoroughly pissed that I researched a truck, did my best to make the right choice for my business and now I am out a vehicle. Bottom line; This was not a used truck. It was a brand new, right off the show room floor vehicle, cared for and babied (yes, I can prove it... I have every oil change and filter, etc. ever put on it) because I tried to choose the right vehicle for me. It lasted less than 4 years, and has 106,000 miles on it... and I paid a very hefty price for this piece of junk that was touted as one of the best trucks on the market.Kentucky’s useless Lemon Laws: The Kentucky Lemon Law applies when, during the first year or 12,000 miles (whichever comes first), following delivery of a new vehicle: The dealer has attempted to repair the same problem four (4) or more times, or the vehicle has been out of service for repair at the dealership for a cumulative total of 30 days or more. To qualify for the Lemon Law, the problem must substantially impair the use, value, or safety of the automobile. Vehicles leased after July 15, 1998 are also covered. Kentucky Informal Dispute Resolution System or Arbitration: Kentucky requires manufacturers to provide new vehicle owners with a cost-free informal dispute resolution system. The decision is binding on the manufacturer but not the consumer. You qualify if the dispute happened in the first two (2) years or 25,000 miles (whichever comes first), and you are a Kentucky resident AND you purchased the vehicle in Kentucky.
The new Ram truck is awesome. We love the truck so far. We dont drive that often but the time that we have it performs and drives very well. The cab size is amazingly roomy and very comfortable. We love the smooth ride as well. 5 stars so far.
My drivers side airbag deployed in my 1995 Dodge Ram 2500 as I was driving down the road on Monday. I did not hit anything; it just deployed. I spoke to Chrysler and they told me that because my truck is 17 years old that they are not going to do anything. They are not even interested in finding out why it happened? I know that there are thousands of these trucks still on the road and I think that it is ** of them to not care because of the age of the vehicle. My truck is in great shape and is well taken care of and I am very disturbed with the experience that I just had with them. This may make me think twice before buying another Dodge.
Have owned 3 Dodge Rams...all had transmission problems and required replacements. All had issues with Limp Mode which is when the vehicle dies while driving. Stay away from these turds...go with the undisputed winner Toyota Tundra.
This is the second time in two months I have taken my Ram 3500 diesel into Crown for a check engine light that stays on. Both times even though their equipment says it needs an O2 sensor they say, No, that isnt the problem. Now after they have had it the second day they say it does need 2-O2 sensors, however they dont have any. They are on back order. So they will call me when they come in. So I pick up the truck and I ask the parts guy, how long should it take to get the parts and he checks the order. To my unbelief, he says there are over 5000 on back order. So he says about a month. I doubt if they will be in a year. What the heck is going on with Chrysler. Are they trying to go out of business. I have never heard of anything so stupid. I have to wonder how many people are ahead of me at Crown Chrysler waiting on the same part?
I purchased my Rubicon in March 2014, spent $61 000.00 and was incredibly excited. By November of 2014, I was already having balance issues and a ridiculous speed wobble. Took it in to two different locations in Edmonton and they told me it was fine and nothing was wrong. March 2015, I couldnt drive my jeep any longer. The wobble was so bad I couldnt hold on to the steering wheel and wasnt able to control it.I take it back to Dodge and they told me theyre surprised it hasnt fallen apart. All 4 Fox shocks had to be replaced (only highway driven and 40 000 on) away bar and track bars as well. Then they told me this was REGULAR maintenance. Are you kidding me? It was in the shop for 3 months because they kept ordering the wrong parts. When I got it back they had some reason messed with the steering and the steering wheel was on crooked... Then they told me it wasnt them who did that... They were the last knee to touch my jeep and the steering was fine prior. Now I just took it back today as the abs and traction control lights were on. They told me my brake line was close to breaking so to be careful driving until they could order me one, and that my sensors were gone in my front end. $600 later for labour... I pay and drive away. I make it 1 km down the service road and am driving about 30 km an hour and my abs light starts flashing off and on and my entire jeep locks up and I stop in the middle of the road. This ends my story because I turned around and took it right back, furious!!! They dont know whats wrong with it now and I ended up leaving it there. This Jeep is going to suck all my money dry. Worst decision ever to buy this thing and I barely even drive it!
2014 Ram 1500 4 x4 - Bought Ram new in March 2014. When it got 700 miles on it, it started smoking really bad on start up. It only does it about every two weeks. Been in shop at dealership 2 times - over a week each time. They have told Chrysler that it is steam, not smoke. I know the difference. Been going on over 3 months now and now in the last 250 miles the oil stick mark has dropped to the ADD mark. Still smokes when it wants to. Can I make them replace it with a new one?
2011 Dodge 1500 Truck Crew Cab, Dark Red - Real simple things: The brake pedal makes a popping noise when you push it down or let it up. Ive now tried on 3 different times to get that fixed. This last time I was told they could not duplicate the problem. What a sorry excuse. The second time I was in their garage they could hear it and sprayed the brake pedal with some kind of lubricant that lasted for approximately 2 weeks, then the squeak came right back! There is a problem with the CD player, it skips towards the end of the CD songs - it rattles, and if you hit a bump, it ejects the playing CD. The mechanic claimed he could not duplicate this problem as well.So I asked Micheal (one of the service order writers) to get in the truck with me and I put in a CD less than a month old and showed him how it starts skipping towards the end of the CD. He claimed he heard it skipping, which of course it was. I am so tired of these people thinking I will just go away and live with the problems my new truck has... I guess! Ive had the truck 6 months and it has a little over 8,000 miles on it. These 2 problems I have with the truck since the first day I drove it home. At this point in time, I no longer want them to fix the CD player. I want a brand new one! I dont think they know how to fix it since the problem is still there 6 months later! I sure hope you can help me.
The dodge 1500 front cab is designed perfect. Every control you need it at your fingertips. Nothing there takes your eyes off the road. The room at the back of quad cab is good, is enough space for a 6 foot tall person. Both front and back seats are very comfortable.
I have a big investment in this 2000 Dodge 3500 van because it is converted to a motor home by a Canadian company called RoadTrek. In the last year, my computer (ECM) has been replaced 5 times. The replacement ECM is under warranty, but the mechanics seem to be just replacing the computer until the warranty runs out, without being able to find the root of the problem. I continue to get false OBD-II reports of emission control problems and low idle controller problems, with accompanying cutting out and low idle roughness.
Ram 3500 2010 exhaust permanent defect. Problem: Oil change light at 500 miles. Action taken by dealer. Ignore the message keep using it. Research results: Carbon particles in oil; thus lugging the filter. Problem: Check engine light. Action taken: Reset computer. Findings: maintenance staff could not correct design problems. Not trained. Problem: engine stalls; thus causing loss of power steering, power brakes and potential catastrophic accident under load conditions. Action taken: Reset Computer. The corresponding agencies should force Chrysler to buy back such trucks and compensate for the loss in market value. Nissan had to buy back the mini vans that had a problem with fire in the engine compartment.
My 2012 Ram 1500 SLT is only used less than six months of every year and I have had two years yet the rear differential seal keeps going. Its been replaced twice and is leaking again in under six months since the last replacement. I requested they check that and the exhaust manifold last time it went in for repairs, and instead of doing so they suggested I buy a new truck, and when I refused their offer they continued to try to push me into it with numerous follow up calls. Needless to say they didnt even check why the seal keeps going just told me it was worn out and theres nothing that causes that, then told me the rattling noise was because I needed an oil change which had been done a month prior. Told them if thats what it was to do the oil change. After paying for another oil change and bringing my truck home I am still having the same issues, what do I do?
EcoDiesel 1500 pickup. I just love my pickup.. Though the fuel mileage is not as advertised. It does not get the 25 to 30 miles to gallon. Only getting 18 to 22 mpg. This pickup has over 100,000 miles on it and runs like a top.
I just wanted to say I am disappointed with the rear coil spring suspension on my 2012 Dodge 1500. I have an enclosed trailer that weighs 2,800lbs and may have around 1,000lbs in it. The rear of the truck drops down drastically. I know the coil spring suspension gives it a better ride, but it ruined the carrying capacity. The fuel mileage has gone from 17.5 to 15.5 in the past week and I have not pulled anything or changed where I purchased the fuel or the grade of fuel. Maybe that will improve over time. Now I just have a truck that I really cannot use to its full potential.
I purchased a used 2004 Dodge Ram 1500. Right after I did, it had a shake and grinding noise in the front end, so I took it in. They never put it on the lift; they just drove it and said there was nothing. I took it the next day to Dunn Tire. They found 2 tires with broken belts, so I had all 4 replaced. I told Fox Chrysler Dodge and they did nothing and said they couldnt hear the noise. Also, when I bought the truck before, as we were making the deal, there was a rust area on the driver side box wheel. Well, they told me they put new metal in as requested but it has started bubble rusting through. I have all the receipts from the 2 wheel bearings; I had to replace the tires, plus the rear end was leaking when they had it in once - I pointed that out and they never fixed it. I have the receipts from that also. I went to the Better Business site and filed a complaint (also the state DMV). I need help. These crooked dealers need to be stopped.
PROBLEMS WITH 2015 DIESEL 3500 DODGE RAM!!! I can’t speak for any other truck but 2 weeks ago my truck had a message about the DEF pump and I took it in. And I have taken very good care of this truck, oil changes are on time, fuel filters get changed on time, I take it to the car wash regularly, the DEF fluid is put in as soon as it hits the ½ way mark, I put new tires on it. They replaced the pump and found that something electrical was causing the pump to burn up. Well yesterday 3/30/17 I was told that the part wouldn’t be in for 3 MONTHS!!! In that amount of time they could rebuild the entire truck. Now I can’t trust it even if I get it back to haul my 5th wheel or me for that matter. My truck has 35,000 miles on it, however you don’t buy a truck to make huge truck payments on a something that you CAN’T DRIVE!!! I called CHRYSLER 1-866-726-4636 and they said someone would call me back in a couple days, but hey if they happen to not call you by Friday, you can call back on Monday. What the Hell!!! REPLACE THE WHOLE TRUCK OR OFFER ME SOMETHING!!! If you buy a 3500 Dodge Ram you best have someone follow you when you haul your 5th wheel once it gets to 35000 miles because let me tell you will be stranded on the side of the road!! And good luck having your truck to even get to a campground. They said they would reimburse me for a rental car, NO just pay for it, and pay for my truck payments since CHRYSLER HAS MY TRUCK AND I DON’T! I love the looks of my truck but if I can’t drive it what good is it?!! I hope that anyone who has already purchased a 3500 Dodge Ram doesn’t have issues with blood pressure because this would definitely raise it even more. I don’t care where you buy a vehicle from. 3 ½ months is an unacceptable time frame for them to fix your vehicle. CHRYSLER SUCKS!!!
2012 Dodge Ram 1500 4 X 4 - I just have to blow off steam. My husbands truck engine froze while working. Had the truck brought into Ray Brandt Dealership where it was purchased new from. 1st off on an expensive truck it is hard for me to believe that there is NO loaner that could be offered while checking my husbands truck out. After 3 weeks of me calling every other day we find out it is not covered under the Drive train warranty!!! Really? Abdul stated that Chrysler denied the claim, said the maintenance invoices looked fake? OMG and a rod was broken inside which suggests it was starved for oil? SO now I have a truck payment and 2 bills (1 for a rental) and 2 for a new engine that would not be covered. Why do we keep receipts for maintenance? They dont accept them anyway. I am very unhappy with Chrysler and his truck along with my 300 will be traded in and never buy another Chrysler product.... Shame on you, Chrysler.........
First I bought a brand new 2013 ram crew cab express. Problems with radio going out losing the screen then coming back. Also had problems with power locks the cause a pinched wiring harness. The dealership changed the radio twice, still had problems. So I turned in the truck with 3000 miles and upgraded to a 2014 ram. Thought that was better, no. The radio cuts out all the time and I only have 500 miles on new truck. The dealer has installed new software but after a couple days, the radio still cuts out, so they ordered me a new radio. Here we go again. I wish dodge would come up with an aftermarket radio that works, too much technology if you ask me. That is my gripe.
Love Dodge Ram. Love the color and the height. Really Tall. Bigger than most vehicles on the road. The dogs and the children love it as well. I also have to fight my husband to drive it day to day. May get another one of the Rams when it is time to upgrade. A newer one would have been great. There seems to be more of them just like mine on the road no matter where I go. Also, wish I would have bought it in black. Think my daughter will try to take it from me. I also dont like the Interior. The interior should be black. Lacks upgraded equipment as well. Would like a better stereo. Lastly, hard to read the speedometer during the day.
We bought this truck with 4000 miles on it. A demo wrecker. Big, strong, able to handle what we could throw at it. Unfortunately, have had nothing but an issue out of the def system. Hard to keep a wrecker on the road when it keeps flashing the shut down and will not restart in 200 miles message. Finally my husband found the problem. Def fluid crystallizes when air hits it, and each time you add def fluid a small amt of air hits the fluid, so guess what happens. Right. Some of those crystals get in the system, stop up the injector. If you dont believe, check the funnel you use to add def fluid. Crystals you will find. Still has SES light for the system, but at least its not shutting down now. Just a bit disappointed in the product dodge advertised as the truck built especially for the wrecker industry. Wake up Dodge. Wheres your pride in your products? The amt I gave for this truck should make it trouble free for a long, long time.
DONT BUY. Bought a brand new Dodge Ram (Longhorn) and second day the engine light turned on. I took it to the dealership for service and it took them 2 days to find out what might cause the problem and then they said theyll fix it but the engine light might turn back on, so they should check for other stuff. When they called me to come and pick up the truck they had damaged my brand new car and they said theyre not responsible for any damages! Horrible vehicle and customer service.
I have a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 that I purchased new. The left front fender paint is bubbling and the steering wheel leather is cracking and coming off. Im taking it in for service its still under warranty. What a shame that a $45000 truck is having these problems. Oh did I mention that the truck is on its second radio. Where is their quality control? Will keep in touch. Cant wait to hear what the dealer has to say.
Its great on miles and tows wonderfully. Its brilliantly awesome and stylish. The key fob is awesome. You can start the car with it and then take the key out so you can lock the car while its running.
My new Dodge Ram 1500 truck w/ hemi 8 speed transmission. When driving, it shifts into 4k RPM. On take off at 15 MPH it will be at 3k RPM until you get off the road and restart. And this is been happening since I bought the truck in July. Dealership gives me the run around when I take it in. They say no codes, nothing is wrong with it.
Transmission pump went out and was covered by warranty after 2 years. Terrible dealer service, no followup by Dodge after repaired. 3 year old vehicle starting to rust at end of hood, no damage/dings/chips causing issue, just rust bubble starting to form. They say not covered because it hasnt rusted all the way through. Do not have this issue with 2009 mazda 5, 2007 honda accord, etc...
As an owner of a Dodge this is the first time I have been very disappointed with its make of the Dodge Ram. My truck is 13 Years old at about 97,000 miles and have a blown head gasket. I keep up with maintenance and always clean dont use it much or haul anything. Now this is very expensive to fix. Its like putting a down payment for a new car.
I have had my 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi for 6 months now. The first problem is Sirius radio does not work all the time. It cuts off and on almost constantly. Second, and most troubling, is the transmission is not shifting properly from over drive (6th) down to any other setting. It takes about 5 to 10 seconds to respond, and while in cruise, it will delay downshifting while climbing an incline for as long as it takes to drop 5 to 7 miles per hour before it reacts. The other problem is first thing in the morning, the transmission will not go into reverse. You start the truck and drop it into reverse, and it just sits there. Put it back into park and wait about 1 to 3 minutes, and it goes into reverse but backs up so slowly that you would swear it was freezing outside.Next, the rear view mirror doesnt dim at night. Next, there is no road hazard warranty on the tires direct from Goodyear or the dealer, but they dont tell you that. Next, the truck was advertised to get 20 highway and 14 in town. My GMC truck got 21 on the highway, and this thing gets at best 13.8 MPG. I was told that the mileage should improve. I now have 38K on the truck, and fuel mileage has dropped to 9.2 MPG.Now to the best part. I have had this truck in my dealers face at least 1 week a month or more every month for the past 6 months (since purchased new), and the line Im being fed is that there is nothing wrong with my truck. Since it has not set a code, the dealer (and per Dodge) cannot change a part or spend their money correcting anything that isnt or doesnt break.I make my living with my truck. Im losing money every mile I drive with the fuel expenses. A friend of mine is getting 22 MPG with his truck (a new 2012 also). Any one with a 2012 Ram that is experiencing the fuel mileage problems I have seen, please contact me. I need 500 owners with verifiable fuel mileage concerns to start a class action suit against Dodge. I spent many years building and restoring cars, and Im tired of dealing with stupidity from these glorified parts changers (now called technicians, not mechanics) who cant find their ass without a code.
I purchased this Dodge Ram 1500 late in 2015. Regularly serviced, 13000 miles. New condition. Was driving it at low speed when it stalled. I pulled off the road and noticed flames, called 911 until the fire company arrived. My vehicle was engulfed in flames. I darn near popped the hood. Glad I did not. Anyone have pending lawsuits against Dodge Ram? I have seen several posts about an alternator problem that leads to fires but perhaps they are hushing things up. Any similar experiences and recommendations? I have owned 3 Dodge Rams and purchased 5 Chrysler products.
Went to dealer about tire pressure light for my 2014 Ram 2500. Changed oil, rotated tires while there. Light was back on by the time I got home. Explained to them that it wasnt the tire since the driver side sensor was off, even after they rotated tires. They decided to replace tire anyway. Light was back on less than ten miles from dealer. Went back the fourth time. Now being told it is the RK module? Which is part of the radio (brain) of the truck. This is back ordered, and they have no time line on it. Is there anyone out there that knows the person to complain about this poor customer service.
We purchased what was supposed to be a new 2014 Dodge Ram Laramie Longhorn Cummins motor crew cab dually. Well in all reality it was not. Had problems with the truck from day 3. Has a terrible lag, vibration, no power, will not hardly pull out of the driveway with a trailer on it. Dealer said, Thats not right. Bring it over. We took it over. They all do that we were told. Then why on the phone was I told there is something wrong. Come to find out the truck had apparently been bought and brought back. It had been worked on several times and was in service in Jan. when we purchased. In Aug. Dodge got involved and things have gone down since brake controller is out, cruise control is out, traction control is out, rear window leaks has a short in it somewhere, tires are wore completely out at 12,000 miles. ABS system works sometimes, exhaust brake works sometimes, uses oil about 1 quart per 1000 miles, fender flares falling off, running board falling apart, seat memory sometimes works, coolant light comes on, motor sounds like its going to blow, has a miss. Radio is going out map, light going out, not the bulb either, the map light itself. There are many more things going on. Dodge agreed to put us in another one but has to be of equal or less value so buyer beware. Do not buy a Dodge. We have talked to a lot of people that just give up and trade them off.
I purchased 2015 Dodge Ram last December with about 30,000, miles on it. Since then it has had FOUR safety recalls and the major recall on the power steering is being ignored. My local auto mechanic told me to see recall number - 16-U-167, but Dodge is stating there is no recall on this repair which just cost me over $2,700. I asked to cover at least half the cost of this repair. Rick ** at Christopher Dodge, agreed that this type of repair should not happen at low millage if at all, but they refused make amends and sent me to Dodge. I see a recall (note below) on the internet, but they should be standing behind their product either way. IF the power steering had gone out while I was driving I could have been killed. This will be my last Dodge. https://repairpal.com/recall/16V167000.Summary: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Ram 1500 trucks manufactured January 22, 2015, to September 13, 2015. Contamination on the Electric Power Steering (EPS) control circuit board may cause a short and result in the loss of power steering assist. Any advice would be appreciated.
Less than 10000 miles the rubber under the clearance lights had to be replaced. Dealer said they were dry rotted it was causing water to leak into my cab. Truck has a constant shake above 65, dealer says nothing is wrong even though you can visibly watch the passenger seat shake like crazy while driving. 30000 miles water is leaking into my cab again. This time through my rear brake light (with camera). It stained my ceiling which they ended up replacing. Also the paint is severely flawed. It looks like I drive my truck through a gravel pit behind a tractor trailer at 75.Rockers are rusted inside of door head bubbling rust. Under paint bumper has bubbling rust... what do you think Chrysler says rock chips. Yeah a rock chip somehow caused rust to bubble under the paint without leaving a chip.... Truck is complete garbage. Dont waste your money. They slap a warranty on it to make you all warm and fuzzy but when there is a problem they dont do anything to fix it. I wish I could give it zero stars.
Just purchased my truck this month October 25, 2014. Has 670 miles on it and started making a noise as I was driving in a wind tunnel. Took my truck in today and was told the fan clutch is bad and needs to be replaced. I shouldnt be having to replace any parts on my truck being I just bought it and its brand new. Spoke to a manager regarding this issue and was told I could not return my truck back to them. Going to speak to another manager on Tuesday and my blood is boiling. Very dissatisfied with Dodge as of now!!!
Dodge Ram - WARNING - If you have a 2019 or 2020 Dodge Ram Diesel. GET RID OF IT. Our 2019 with less than 30,000 miles has been at the dealership for 45 days now with NO RESOLUTION. We were stranded on the Interstate for two hours - IT JUST DIED AS WE WERE DOING 75MPH, - we are blessed no one was right behind us. The warranty that is supposed to be top rated is useless. The case managers, supervisors, do not return calls and the poor dealership service managers are left to deal with things that the engineers dont know how to fix. The fuel pump recall doesnt have a fix and there is no fix for all the damage that comes when the fuel pump goes out and sends metal shavings all through injection system. Our last update after 45 days (and paying two truck notes) is that STAR engineers have no idea how to fix this damage. We have been without a vehicle all this time. SO IF YOU HAVE ONE OF THESE, GET RID OF IT BEFORE YOU ARE LEFT IN A MESS LIKE THIS!
I just purchased a 2014 Ram 1500 6 weeks ago with 36,000 miles on it. Every time I stop I feel a jerk, kinda like something is slipping. If it does not do it when I stop it does it when I take off! The Dodge dealer was very unhelpful. Wanting to charge me even though I have a warranty! So Im bringing it where I bought it from. Its a Nissan dealer but I figure its best to go where I purchased it. I traded a Ford truck with 170,000 miles for this truck and never had a driveshaft issue. Im wondering if I should fix this and get rid of it? Does anyone know if I can legally make them take it back? Ive only put 3,000 miles on it, it would not have been that much but I called the Dodge dealer right after I noticed it and they said it was normal, it was the brake assist!!
This 2015 Ram makes the third new Ram for me. That being said the third was not the charm. My first was a 2006 Ram 2500 which was a good truck. A lot of recalls but all in all good truck traded with 50,000 miles. Second one was a 2011 3500 mega cab. Dual climate control was out when I drove it off the lot. 10 to 12 mpg which was bad. Third brake light and sun roof leaked, dash rattled 24/7 and 4wd would not work half the time. Really disappointed in that truck traded with 19,000 miles. So I bought my third truck which is the 2015 ram 2500. This truck is so weak Id rather pull with a 1500 and the transmission slips for the first 1/8 mile in morning. Truck now has 9000 miles. So in my opinion Im done with Ram trucks. As soon as I can trade this truck its gone. Take this review how you like. This is just my experience with Ram trucks.
My 16 month old son, Odin, and my 3 year old Thor had just been buckled into their seats. I just plugged in my phone as my battery died sending a text that I would meet in a few minutes... for the catfish festival! I backed out, started driving and poof! My airbags exploded!!! I drove off the road and into my neighbors driveway without ever hitting the breaks. Next thing I know, my face, shoulder and arm are burned from the airbags, and my kids are screaming. My neighbors all come out, one saw the whole thing, and asked what happened. I am sure I sounded like crazy lady with..I have no idea. But, I really didnt know why one minute I was fine. And the next I had airbags and a crash. 1 week later I got the recall in the mail for the airbags. I still have not received the recall for temporary loss of vehicle control. Ram has not responded to my report of the recall, its been a week and I have called EVERY day to see when I get to talk to someone. I walked into local Ram dealer and asked for the local Chrysler rep-Scott ** - I cant get his number nor will they give me his email or even a mailing address for a lawsuit letter! My GEICO rep wants to part out my totaled truck without looking into the recall. I am told by 3 GEICO adjusters, they are not going to download the box... the magic box that will confirm my airbags, and if I want to persist i.e. It I can. Wow. Where is the class action? My attorney said since me and my kids werent racking up thousands of medical bills (we were only going 15 mph) it is not worth taking on. I am now out 10,000 to get my same truck this year. I am changing insurance, to say the least, and want to sue Chrysler... but have no address for my lawyer to send a letter to! Anyone else have this problem??? My uncle owned a Chrysler dealership for 30 years (retired for last 15) and has never heard of such negligence by Ram. He is embarrassed to have been their rep/dealer.
Bought new 2016 2500 cummins in august. Engine brake started to not engage when going down hill. And transmission was not shifting down. Dealer did update on the ecm flash. Now I have no engine brake and the transmission lets the truck freewheel unless you apply brakes. This shouldnt be this way. The Transmission should shift down and the engine brake should reduce the use of the brakes 30 to 40%. Is ram going to fix this problem.
