Following my recent lease application for Polestar 2 with ALD Automotive I would like to share with you my not so pleasant experience. After submitting my application form with all the associated documents I had to chase for the answer/decision only to learn that my application was unsuccessful. It took me by surprise because one of the first documents that I submitted was a letter from my employer confirming a car allowance (500 per month), which would cover most of the monthly lease payment. That meant that I would be using this allowance and not my own money to pay for the lease monthly. I also had sufficient savings to cover the initial deposit payment. When I highlighted this during my phone call I was asked to submit this letter again even though it had been already sent with the initial application. After sending it again I received an email confirming that my application was still unsuccessful. The very next day I applied for a PCP loan to buy Jaguar F Pace (diesel) of the same value as Polestar 2 and surprise surprise my application was accepted within 30min with no issues whatsoever. I have now a loan of a greater value than the lease for Polestar 2 could have been. The points that I want to make it here are:- I was in a perfect financial position to make this purchase. - I wanted to switch from a combustion engine car to electric vehicle to make an impact on the environment and join a growing number of EV owners- Due to bureaucratic approach of ALD Automotive and no inclination to look into my application a bit more further this choice of leasing EV was taken away from me and now I will be driving a diesel car for further four years. How do you want people to switch and start using EVs if you are making it so difficult to apply for a simple lease? In four years time when my PCP for Jaguar F Pace is due to finish I will be considering EV again but due to this experience with ALD Automotive it wont be Polestar 2. You lost me as a customer twice. Now, when you rejected my lease application and in the future when I will be making a decision about another car again. Well done!

Extremely Frustrated!Read all the great reviews about Polestar 2 and decided to place an order when I retired in June, and was given a delivery date for October, I was like an excited kid waiting for Christmas Day, I started to organise a Charger installation, car insurance etc. and awaited Polestar contacting me with my registration and handover details, this is where my dreams and excitement started to fade, apart from a message to pay the deposit I heard nothing, right into October, then I started sending messages to ask for a date I would receive my registration and/or handover, but heard nothing ! I logged into the website every day to check for updates but Nothing; then I noticed the delivery date changed to November, but no explanation, and the same silence through Oct, Nov, until a week ago when they gave me a December handover date, I contacted support on chat and told them I needed the registration for insurance and for the charger installation process, but Nothing (this is after I have paid the full amount !) I know the car has been in the uk for over 3 weeks as they sent me a photo of it coming off the boat in Southampton, so I asked for a quicker handover date as I had made plans to travel, but once again it was like messaging an empty address ! I started this process with joy and excitement, my first new car after working hard for 50 years, but I must say the past four and a half months have been frustrating and stressful, and have certainly taken the excitement out of my experience! I havent seen the Polestar 2 in the flesh as yet, and it is obviously a very good car, it is just a great shame that the customer service doesnt live up to the car, I realise this is quite a new company but just a short message or quick phone call to let customers know whats happening would make a big difference!

Puzzled by some of these bad reviews...My experience has been excellent. Ive test driven the Polestar 2 twice this month and have now ordered one. The online, telephone and in-store experience has been very good throughout, I cant fault it so far. Its a slight trek to drive up to Manchester but I had AWFUL experiences at both Mercedes and Jaguar in Chester - avoid them both at all costs if you want to lease a vehicle through your business, they dont want to know.

Car was 5 weeks late being delivered owing to a problem with a sensor in the boot.It took 3 weeks for them to diagnose the problem. No updates: I had to chase them.No compensation, even though they had an 8k deposit from me.The delivery driver had no idea how to use the car: its a complicated vehicle. Theyre supposed to bring a technician. So now I cannot use the car fully.I requested a technician to explain some of the functions. No response. The charging card they supply is useless: no preparation or explanation of that. Nearest charge point for the card they supply is 3 miles away. Suggest you find out which suppliers are near you and apply for cards/accounts, at least 10 days before you get the car.

If you are wondering to buy a polestar, calculate yourself extra good time for every single miner thing to get done, even the response from them will take ages. When they finally response, they will try to run away the problem. I have waited for this vehicle for almost two years, but really consider to get rid of it

My Polestar 2 was delivery on Monday. Unlike others on here I didnt have a particular issue with the leasing process although the car was a few weeks later than expected. However the main key fob does not work.. at all. It does not drive when in the vehicle or lock / unlock the doors. The car can be driven with the sports fob but does not lock when left... so is effectively not usable. This would not have been clear when the vehicle was delivered as the delivery person had both keys in his hand.Upon reporting this to Polestar I have now been told to make an appointment with a garage to sort out myself... my time and cost (whilst also paying them for a car that I cant use)Not happy at all... Id avoid.

I test drove a Polestar2 in Manchester last week. anchester was the closest location for taking a Test Drive, which is not very convenient when you live in the North of Scotland! Flew down with my wife (whoops! There goes my green credentials) and stayed in a hotel overnight. Arrived on time. Place was a little shambolic and it was quite difficult to discern fellow customers from Polestar staff. Eventually we made ourselves known to each other. He did my driving licence check (which had been done online TWICE before, when booking the Test Drive), and we walked to the back of the sales showroom which is located in the Trafford Centre. He told me to sit in the drivers seat and gave me the car keys. The car was not dirty but was well worn and as it was cheap leather was very baggy! However, everything came to life with the keys present. He told me to press a few buttons on the large tablet screen and to choose a destination from the menu. Whilst doing this, he was unplugging the car from the charger. The SoC was 40% so for sure I wasnt going to run away. He told me how to adjust the seat and wing mirrors. The left mirror wouldnt respond to any command to change from its location! He said that the team had been down to London in the car the previous day and he thought someone down there had clobbered the mirror whilst the car was parked but said Youll manage, dont accelerate too aggressively as you may give yourself a whiplash injury!!! Then turned and left. I was expecting him to accompany my wife and myself on the drive! We followed the instructions on the satnav to leave the Trafford Centre and get on to the M60. Just as we were entering the M60, the whole infotainment system decided to do a reset!! Screen went blank, no instructions, no nothing! After a minute or two (seemed like half an hour) it slowly started coming back to life again. However, there were now no voice commands coming from the satnav!! This while driving at 70 mph to keep flowing with the traffic, in a strange car, on a strange road, travelling to an unknown destination!! Scary. My wife managed to provide some vocal commentary but was unused to Google Maps and didnt understand some of the symbols used ad we missed a few turnings. Eventually manage to get off the Motorway and found a rugby club car park that was empty so we could try and get things sorted. Had to unmute the maps in 2 different pages of the software. Fortunately the sound came back. We decided we would curtail our test drive at this point and just drive back to the Trafford Centre, most of our allotted time had been burned up by now anyway! Drove back to the Trafford Centre without further mishap and was able to appreciate the car itself. When we got back to the Trafford Centre we entered the car park, which is like a complex maze! At this point the satnav threw another hissy fit and started out turn left, turn right instructions willy nilly!! Eventually got back to the allocated Polestar parking spots to find 2 different Polestar Reps waiting for us! I was advised that the original chap had been sent on a service call. Im not surprised!!! These two gents werte obviously stressed and only wanted to get back to the showroom rather than answer any of the dozens of questions I had. They put the car on charge, wished us farewell and trotted off back indoors. My wife and I picked up our bags and searched for a taxi rank. End of Polestar experience. I was contacted by Polestar CS on the following Friday, but missed the call. Phoned back and discovered that the number was for Volvo CS. The guy advised that they shared the same space as Polestar but there didnt appear to be anyone around. He took my details and said he would get someone to return my call soon. Im still waiting for that! In summary: Quite a good car (or it will be when all the engineering is out of Beta state - maybe in a couple of years time), but if you are after any sort of Customer Service - GO ELSEWHERE, theres plenty of choice!

I wanted the car as fast as possible, so I contacted Polestar support to see if I could get it before my old lease contract ended. They were really helpful and found me a car in stock. You can only buy a Polestar alike shopping @ Amazon, however, once paid you will be left in the dark by Polestar. Their CS is shambolic. No response to emails, they call with hidden numbers and worst... The entire order to delivery process is digital, thus the portal is key for any nmew Polestar owner. I was asked to make my own Polestar web ID, for them to link my car in the portal. But Ive never seen anything on the portal because my car wasnt linked to my account. They just called me that I can collect my car next week and they promised me that someone would call me to link my car to my ID. Not.... my phone has gone very quiet. This great car comes with no customer service, be prepared.

Polestar 2 is a nice car and drive well, but every day use its let down by software problems. I like Volvo cars, but I cant recommend this car as so many software issues and it seems that that have no quality standards when it comes to software.Even after several updates the basic still not addressed. 1. Car heating timers does not work2. Digital key does not work. Need to use emergency key brick.3. Average Consumption at vinter time is 32kW/100km. Effective range is 180-200 km. 4. Batteries indicator is unreliable. Go from 18% to 1% in 3 km.5. Auto seat and mirror adjustment when changing user stopped working in P1.8.5. If you buy the car in Denmark, then note Clever Charing network only have one DC changer in most bigger cities and only one high speed 150kW in Jutland. So the car is only for use near your home.6. Why the F... is seats not heated when cabin pre-heating. Who wants a heated cabin with frozen seats? 7. The car cabin was not cleaned (at all) upon delivery. Its a small thing, but a dirty new car is not the best impression.8. The remote Iphone app is a disaster and close to useless. 9. No Apple CarPlay. The Google system is disappointing and maps not syncing with phone so trips cant be planned. Spotify is beta with distortion and sometimes slow down playback speed.Come on Volvo - you are better than this.

Took delivery of a new Polestar 2 mid Dec 2021. Following 4 weeks of very happy motoring the door locks failed on the drivers door and I couldnt open the drivers door - using either the internal or external door handle.Called customer service at 8.00pm Friday night - fortunately the vehicle was at home so I wasnt stranded anywhere - and was advised our technicians dont work past 6pm and the earliest we can get to your vehicle is 9.00am. I have to leave for work 530am but my wife would be able to give access to the vehicle.930am and no technician yet arrived. Call PS Roadside Assist ( who is actually Allianz), was told the technician is running late - should be there by 11. Get a call from technician - sorry I couldnt call you but the number given to me by Allianz was a German one ( Im in the UK). Technician has to tow the car to nearest dealership. Says I will get a courtesy car. 15 mins later get a call from Allianz - courtesy car organised, Enterprise rent a car will be in touch. So far so good - disappointed the car broke but its new - essentially still a prototype so I was expecting some problems, but believed the strength of the service and support package advertised would keep me on the road. Then the wheels started to fall off. Phone call from Enterprise - I have received a request to provide you with a car to be delivered to your work address, but my branch closes in 6mins and I cant get there before closing time ( the nearest branch to my work is 1.5 miles away - 6 mins driving time) , so you will have to go to the airport during our opening hours to pick up a car. Explained due to my job ( emergency services, 12 hr shift) I cant leave my workplace, and the car has to be delivered to me. Mr Enterprise says - sorry cant help you this weekend, the earliest we could get you a car is 900am Monday, you better ask Allianz to arrange a different hire car company for you.Ring back Allianz - explain the story so far ( I had already told them my work situation meant I couldnt go pick up a car) - we completely understand, this is unacceptable from Enterprise, I will escalate to their area manager and find a solution for you.700pm, get to the end of my shift, had no contact from anyone. Fortunately using my wifes car so not stranded anywhere. Call Allianz on the way home. No update from Enterprise. Suggested to them they use someone else ( as Mr Enterprise recommended). Put on hold for a few minutes. Agent then advises yes that has been approved and the hire car team will be back in contact with a vehicle for you shortly. An hour later I get a call from Allianz (missed call, so voice message). Sorry we cant approve getting a alternative hire car provider, and this is your fault because you declined the car you were offered. You will have to wait until Monday. Cue very angry customer.Ring back - after a rant from me and many apologies from Allianz, get told a solution will be found tonight and we will give you a call back.No call back.Go to work 530am Sunday morning, in my wifes car. Her weekend completely wrecked now. 1100am get a call from Mr Enterprise, same guy from day before. I have a car available for you to collect from the airport. Doesnt work for same reason it didnt work yesterday. Ok, I can deliver a car to you tomorrow morning. Alright in that case delivery to my work doesnt work anymore, you need to deliver to my house (one hour away) as Im switching from day shift to Night Shift tomorrow and need to sleep during the day before I start work at 7pm.Then delivery wont be till Tuesday then. All my long range delivery slots are full Monday.Ring back Allianz. Bring them up to date on Enterprises latest offer. Very apologetic. Well call you back.730pm call from Allianz. Ive been reviewing your case file and there are clearly a lot of mistakes that have been made - we will sort this out.Nothing further heard that night. Decided to share my story on Polestars social media sites.900am Monday morning - Polestar has noticed my posts, now contacted by Polestar support rather than Allianz. Explain the story. Ok we will sort this for you. Get a call from Mr Enterprise - I have a car available for you to collect. No - as we discussed yesterday I need the car delivered to my house. Sorry cant do it, will tell my boss you have declined our car again.Get an update from PS late that day - you will receive a car tonight or tomorrow. Leave for work 530pm in my wifes car - no car delivered that night.Tuesday. Posted more stuff on FB. PS social media DMs me says you will get a car today. No car delivered.Wednesday. Mr Enterprise rings - can deliver you a car 1pm Thu afternoon at the earliest. Volvo dealer rings and says my car can be picked up 5pm Wed afternoon. The car cost 48k. I chose PS because of their Volvo lineage and promises on customer support. Very disappointed..

Not a happy Polestar customer!I got the email to book my delivery, got excited at just over a week before delivery, I had my number plate and VIN number. I decided to check the app and my order had gone. I contacted Polestar customer support and was asked to wait 4 days for the IT department to link my order. I was very surprised a week before my delivery to be told it had been cancelled (still showing up on the website). I was told by Polestar customer service to contact my leasing company. It took two days to be told that the wrong order was cancelled by Polestar and that I wouldnt be getting my car. I dont understand how my car which I ordered in July a week before delivery cant be assigned back to me.I have already sold my current car and as of next week will be carless and not driving around in my brand new Polestar.

Car broke down day 2, roadside assistance took it away with promise of rental car replacement. No contact. Polestar, please please please review your Leasing team. Personally, I have no issues with your approach to ordering cars; pick a car, configure it, order it, couldnt be simpler. But when I can afford a car, but your underwriters think I cant for whatever reason and then they put me through distress for rejecting me, for now apparent reason, then fob me off like a leper, well Im sorry, Im not sure how you can continue to stay in business. After 2 days of dealing with ALD its enough to put me off buying a Polestar 2. And Im not the only one, as many others are facing the same experience. I completely understand outsourcing, but why would you use a company who has tarnished the Polestar 2 buying experience? Dont believe me? Have a look at their Trustpilot rating, its shocking! Every disgruntled person who walks away is a lost sale, do you even care? How do you expect to compete in an increasingly competitive market with a service like this is absolutely beyond me.
