The Saturn Corporation was an American automobile manufacturer, a registered trademark established on January 7, 1985, as a subsidiary of General Motors. The company was an attempt by GM to compete directly with Japanese imports and transplants, initially in the US compact car market.

Saturn's two-seat ragtop is a brother to the Pontiac Solstice in that both share GM's rear-drive Kappa platform, but the Saturn has a softer ride and better sound insulation. It's 500 pounds heavier than a Mazda MX-5 but takes turns with aplomb. If you like the Sky but want more serious sports car performance, the Red Line model significantly ups the ante. Horsepower jumps by almost 50 percent thanks to a sophisticated, direct-injection turbo 2.0-liter four. Suspension upgrades include Bilstein shocks and 18-inch alloy wheels. Until there's a Mazdaspeed MX-5 Miata, there are no competitors.

Product Reviews:

It start making noise when turning to enter or exiting a parking. It sounds very hard when steering is turn left or right. This is my first Saturn Vue 2003 and to fix this problem it would cost me at least 2,000.00. I don't even take one of this for free.

For the past 12 months I have been experiencing some starting problem with my 2005 Saturn Ion. Sometimes, I put the key in the ignition and turn it and the car does not start. However, after taking the key out and waiting between 7 and 10 minutes and trying to start, it starts without any problem. As mentioned, this problem has been going on for the past 12 months. So today, after reading some of the blogs and a posted phone number (**), I decided to call, the lady answering the phone was very polite and helpful. She called a buick dealership and got the service person on the phone. I asked this person if he had ever heard of this problem and he acknowledged that he did not. But after pressing further, he admitted that he had heard of this problem but need the car to further troubleshoot the problem and that they will charge a fee to do.I'll wait and see what happens. I am not ready to contact an attorney yet.

2005 Saturn Ion 2: Along with my ignition switch failing, my power steering regularly going out while driving down the freeway, and my driver-side window not working, my key is now stuck in the 'on' position with the car running. I popped the clutch to turn it off and disconnected the battery. I ordered a new ignition cylinder and plan to replace when it arrives. I agree with the majority of the community that there are far too many problems with particular parts for a recall not to be made. I'm elated for the day I can rid myself of this car. It's been nothing but continual problems. My Honda on the other hand has nearly the same miles and not one problem in 5 years.

Last night after stopping at a local store, I attempted to turn my 2006 Saturn Ion off. The key would not move backwards and therefore, I could not remove it from the ignition slot. Obviously, I was unable to turn the car off. Since it was about 6:30 when this happened, I tried a couple of auto parts stores, but they found the problem strange. Finally, I drove it to a certified dealership for them to keep overnight. Today I found out that the key, cylinder, and housing would need to be replaced for $650.00! I am the only one earning money for my kids and myself. The consequence is that I do not feel I can afford a new car, so I am stuck paying for a problem that perhaps should be officially recalled. I can tell from this website that I am not the only one with the problem.

Please do not buy any Saturns. They are deadly! I purchased this car last year and all I had was problems and recalls. My door locks would go up and down while driving every other day. But when I take it to the shop, then it would stop. They couldn't fix it because they couldn't see the problem. Then my check tire pressure light would come on. I took it to the shop, the tire pressure was fine. Then the auto-theft light would come on and off. Basically the car had a mind of its own. I drove the car about 10 miles today, parked, walked across the street and it was up in smoke. The fire department said it started from the engine. Has this happened to anyone else? This car was a problem from day one. I would stay away from buying any Saturn cars, period!

I have a 2008 Saturn Outlook and have had nothing but problems. I know that my warranty has expired but for a 3-year old truck with 70k miles, why is the airbag light going on? Also, the trunk won't open, the stability and stabilizer track is acting up and GM has nothing to say about this. How can one help me address this issue? I am expected to pay for the repairs; I don't think I should.

I started smelling gas in my 2006 Saturn Ion in October of 2016 and took into a local service center to have it checked. They informed me that it was the fuel pump and it needed to be replaced right away. Well in my mind all I was thinking is my car could catch on fire so I agreed and they did the repairs on 11/11/2016 to the tune of $437.79. Later I find out that this was a special coverage recall and that my local dealer would have did the job at no cost to me. I called customer care and explained that I felt like this was an emergency and was not thinking about my local dealership which is 20 miles away. She gave me a case # and told me to get a reimbursement form from dealership and submit the papers and surely they could do something. Well I sent paperwork off in January 2017 and now in March since I have not heard anything I decided to contact them. They informed me that my claim was denied and that my vehicle still has the coverage so if it happens again take it to the dealership. I told her how upset I was and this was awful that I am out off pocket for something that was their fault. My car is 11 years old with 104,050 miles on it and the cap for the coverage is I think 150,000 miles. I would hope that a fuel pump would last longer than a few thousand miles. I have had nothing but problem with this car from the moment I bought it and I agree with everyone else about never owning another GM!!

Saturn Vue original trans failed at 121,500. Based on what I read, I was lucky to have had it last that long. As new GM failed to uphold the results of the lawsuit, that is to cover replacement for a defective product, I had to pay $5000 for parts and labor to replace. I was told warranty is 3-year/36k miles. I went ahead, thinking if I get three years that would be great and worth the money. Now, at 2 years and 34,000 miles, I have a failing trans and am being told that no, the warranty is only 12/12. I am screwed. Even my mechanic was told 3/36 by dealership where he bought it. Get it on paper, people. I cannot afford a new car or $5k to get another bad trans. I am stuck in PA.

I have a 2006 Saturn Ion, which up until the past 6 months I've enjoyed owning. It refuses to start about once every 20th (or so) attempt. When it finally does start, I can't figure out why since I hadn't done anything different than I had done previously at least a few times. Unreliable! Too bad, I really enjoyed this ride.

In the last four years, I've had my ignition replaced three times. Saturn designed a faulty ignition and as soon as a service department "repairs it", the problems start up (the same day). The key gets stuck in the ignition, the car won't start, or the car won't turn off. The problem can't be fixed because they keep using faulty parts.
