Product Reviews:

We have a Diesel 5500 Dodge Ram with that horrible DEF system. During this recent snow storm the computer system told us we had 195 miles to service the DEF system before the truck would CUT OFF. This is the 2nd time in 40,000 miles we have had this happen. We are a snow plowing company,195 miles during a snow storm does not give us a lot of time. We brought the truck into Ross Dodge (Boone, NC) and we were told there was no one to help in service, we took it back the next day and the service people told us they would not look at the truck until the ice and salt had been removed from the bottom of the truck. They did offer to keep it in their bay overnight to melt the debris away. Crazy thing is the truck was needed to (let's all say it together) plow snow. Why couldn't they take it over to their handy car wash and wash it off, or put on their big boy underpants and deal with the dirt? They do not keep the DEF part in stock. So now back to the dealership for a 3rd, or maybe it's the 4th, time to replace a part that we have no control over. Why is this part not stocked? It is used on so many Dodge Diesels both commercial and individual. Shame on Dodge for letting one state control their multibillion dollar company. Grow a set and stand up to California!

2014 RAM TRUCK 15000 miles. Pushing two years old. Day one -- starts great, runs about 2 minutes, dies. This occurred for about 3 months, back to back repairs, had to use roadside service. Finally cured that. Next problem to this exact date, almost a year later, and still no fix! Airbag light on right NOW! Dealership has TRIED numerous repairs and fixes, NO LUCK! Many trips back and forth to dealership, (8 repair orders) STILL ON RIGHT NOW! NOT FIXED! 4 attempts or cases with their "STAR TEAM". Whatever that is? They suck! Chrysler Resolution team has tried and I said tried to resolve, offered me $$$ and wipe out past history, extended warranties, I said take that and stick it up your??? REALLY, I JUST WANT AIRBAG FIXED not cover it up and think I'm desperate for money. Guess what? I'm not! Now have retained a Lemon Law attorney to maybe help. It's been many months and Chrysler tells him "no refund or replace". Then Chrysler attorneys tried to offer me $2000 and think I would be happy and say "sure". Then again I told my attorney to tell them to stick that up their **! Do they think I'm that easy or stupid! Plain and simple and you will understand when I tell you this -- it's my life you're messing with daily, 50/50 chance it might or might not work, Russian Roulette every time I sit behind the wheel and drive. THEY DON'T CARE! I guess since they are a multi-billion dollar corporation they don't give a ** about lives, their product or name. JD POWER MUST NOT TAKE THIS INTO CONSIDERATION WHEN THEY AWARD "BACK TO BACK" TRUCK OF THE YEAR! My time, my life, my family is important Chrysler! I really want the RAM TRUCK/CHRYSLER OWNERS to know how well your life or problem means to them. I hope this blows up the internet, national news, goes extremely viral! Help me! I purchased a new 2015 RAM 3500 Dually with the 30,000 lb tow package for my business. The dealer convinced me to buy the factory extended warranty for $4,500. It was supposed to be a 4 year, unlimited Mile warranty. Between the time I purchased the truck and October 2016, I had already 3 warranty claims covered in the truck. Then in December of 2016, after av$900 tow bill, an authorized dealer informed me that my truck had a hole in the piston and cylinder wall #5 was scarred up so bad that the engine was junk. That it would be $23,840 to get my truck on the road.A Chrysler inspector came out and not only denied my warranty claim, but voided the warranty saying they had already paid out a lot of money on my truck and that they would not pay out anymore. That because I used my truck for "commercial use" my claim was being denied. I bought a work truck and used it for work. I battled with them and got nowhere. Then the dealer battled with them and told me yesterday that they were 90% sure that Chrysler would pay out one last time and fix my truck. Then today, the dealer said that Chrysler would not help me at all, case closed, that they will fight me in court if I get a lawyer. The manager of the dealership said he had never seen Chrysler treat somebody like this in his 18 years there.

My truck has had issues with shifting since the day I bought it. The salesman told me it just needs to be broken in. I have 40,000 miles and now they have to put a new transmission in and they are starting out with only replacing a solenoid. Meanwhile I have no car. I research this now and see several complaints on transmissions and engines. Not happy with this vehicle at all.

Dodge Ram 1500 SLT is a great truck! Very good value for the price. I recommend the one with a v8 (Hemi or not). The truck has given zero abnormal maintenance over the years. The only things I've replaced have been tires, brakes, battery and belt.

Ram 1500 - A bunch of yellow lights came on, on the dash. I took it to the dealer and they found my front hubs are cracking and almost came completely apart! Does anyone know if this has been an issue with all of the problems associated with Dodge, Jeep, and Chrysler?

My 1500 is only 1 year old and has 26K miles on it. Recently my brakes began squeaking at low speed when applied. Was informed I need to machine my rotors, $250. Rotors only have a 1 year or 12K mile warranty. Rotors cannot handle daily rush hour commute. It's a truck and it can't handle daily rush hour traffic??? I don't even tow anything. Overall, I love my truck. Called customer service twice and they were clueless to assist me. 3 different dealers service department have informed me this is common due to the nickel content in the rotors. The rotors in stop and go traffic are overheating and becoming pitted which is causing the squeak when braking.

Diesel engine blown out at 65K. Bought the DODGE RAM 1500 brand new in 2016. Thought the Diesel engine would give us great long-term service - after all we have Dodge trucks as old as 2003 on the road for our contracting company. We do NOT do heavy loads nor towing, they are Quad cabs basically light hauling & crew taxi. Regular service and only 1 previous issue with mass air sensor $800 of that at dealership. The other morning, truck started normal, drive 5 miles to fuel up. Tried to start after fueling, big noise and that was it. Engine blown. Now waiting 6 days to see what they are going to do. 35,000 miles left on factory warranty and they are leaving us with no truck and guessing...

I owned a 98 Dodge Ram right off the showroom floor and before I gave it to my son, it only had two major issues. One was a recall for towing package, they had to weld an extra piece of metal to the trailer hitch. The other issue was, I am assuming the same as most other people that owned that year with the Dashboards that fell apart.I currently own a 2011 Cummins Turbo Diesel, that had the left tie rod recall, took the truck into my local dealership, oh and I bought from a privately owned dealership about 200 miles from where I live. The dealership I took it to for the recall didn't ask any questions or anything about doing the work. I bought this truck in July of this year and have already put over 5K miles on it and she's running like a dream. In my opinion, if you bought your truck for something other than work, then you bought the wrong thing. These are work trucks, built to be USED!!!! If you bought it for the NAV or the Phone or fancy Radio, then maybe you should have looked into buying something else for that price, like a Benz, BMW, Audi or Volvo. Just my opinion. Oh the 98, when I gave it to my son 9 months ago, had over 120K miles on it. The Cummins I traded my Challenger for and only paid 23K for it. Just because these vehicles have all that fancy stuff on them doesn't make them not be a Truck!

Dodge Ram 1500 - Hemi has loads of power. Large touch screen and comfy leather seats. Handles well without tipping around corners. Big horn edition has so many options that I makes for a comfortable, enjoyable ride.
