Product Reviews:

The ILX is a nice small car with good electronic features. The TL, TLX and many other Acura models have very nice exterior and interior designs and it isn't too small or too big and has nice seats that aren't easily damaged. The cars work very well and have great helping technology. The upgrade options are very good just a little pricey, the upgrade includes extra things for the car to make it look and perform better which adds onto an already great car. Acuras are very good for family, you can fit 5 people in it which is a good size, there is enough space to take little road trips.

I am a huge fan of Acura as well as Samsung and anything about cars and electronics intrigues me. I own a TSX ACURA year of 2010, I am greatly in love with it. Acura has a nice sleek look that make it different from other cars on the road today in 2016. The best part about it that it is luxury but not too expensive, great running car and very dependable. Plus you can fit one person in your front seat and 3 in the back with enough seat belts for everyone. I like factory items on an Acura to keep it classy, however, I did spice up my TSX up with some custom wheels, black and chrome. They go great with the car and makes it look like a combination of sport and luxury. However, I have had an issue with the navigation system draining too much battery causing my battery to go dead frequently.

Would not recommend Acura/Honda to anyone! They are the worst. I purchased a 2018 Acura MDX in Aug 2018 from Paragon Acura and I have been having problems with the vehicle since September 2018. First the car would not move when I put it into reverse or drive. When I finally got it to move it started making a grinding noise. I took it to Island Acura and they said my transmission is overfilled with transmission oil. They drain it to the right level. When leaving I heard a winding noise coming at low speed and decelerations. Took it back to the Island Acura and they said it's coming from the transmission and front diff. They refused to work on the MDX bc I did not buy the car from them and said I have to take it back to where I bought it from. I took it back to Paragon Acura and they kept my MDX for over 3 weeks and did not resolve the issue instead they caused more of an issue. They return my MDX with damages. When I reach out to Paragon about the situation they said they will contact me back within 15 mins and they never did. I had to reach out to them the next day. I contact Acura cooperate and them seem to not care at all. My car only has 2200 miles and it dont seem to be a problem with them. Still have transmission problems. My quarter panel, rear bumper, front bumper, driver door, and inside the front door jam have to be painted. Plus my car is filthy with some interior damages. I also received a parking tickets while my MDX was in for service at Paragon Acura. This is the worst car company I have ever dealt with. DONT EVER GET A HONDA/ACURA PRODUCT! NOR DEAL WITH PARAGON ACURA!

I purchased 2018 Nissan Pathfinder (VIN Ending with XXXXXX) from Ryan’s Open Road Acura in East Brunswick, NJ on Oct, 19, 2020. My Sales Rep was Luis. This vehicle had 62,009 miles when I purchased it and I was told on the day of purchase (Oct 19, 2020) that vehicle will have 1K Miles/30 days (whichever comes first) dealer warranty. On top of that I purchased Easy Care extended warranty. Everything was signed on Oct 19 and I took the vehicle home. After a few days, vehicle’s engine started making noises and it would release white smoke from exhaust. Assuming vehicle was covered under dealer warranty (1K miles/30 days), I brought it back to Ryan’s Open Road Acura in East Brunswick, NJ. On Nov 2, 2020 Ryan’s Open Road Acura in East Brunswick, NJ technician looked at the vehicle and after diagnostic and test drive said it seems ok so drive it as is and if problem persists, bring it back. Obviously, problem did persist and I had to bring the vehicle back on Nov 18, 2020 to Ryan’s Open Road Acura in East Brunswick, NJ and they gave me a loaner to look bit deeper into the issue. Next day, Service dept manager Steve called me and said, I need to take the car to Nissan because they can diagnose it better plus since I have the extended warranty, it should be all covered. I didn’t agree given the fact dealer warranty was still good (1K/30 days) but they insisted they are an Acura dealership and they cannot diagnose Nissan vehicle. I took the vehicle from there to Nissan Dealership in Keyport, NJ. Once they looked at the vehicle and vehicle’s old records, they told me this vehicle was brought to 4 different dealerships for service since it had engine issue. They suggested I go back to the Ryan’s Open Road Acura in East Brunswick, NJ and they should get it fixed since you are still under (1K/30 days) warranty. I came back to Ryan’s Open Road Acura in East Brunswick, NJ again before Thanksgiving holidays and let them know what Nissan Service dept was telling me and Used Car Sales Manager “Freddy” came out to help me. After discussing for over an hour with other managers in the back area, he came back and shown me a car fax and basically said “you see when a car is brought to me, we run a car fax but if there is nothing in the car fax report about the engine issue. We can’t do much about it because we don’t know about it”. Really? Well, what exactly is the dealer warranty for then? Anyhow, “Freddy” told us what he can do is, he can take the car back and let me pick something else. Basically a “trade” which of course comes with its own complications. After Thanksgiving, I was notified by Nissan Service Dept at Keyport, NJ that my Extended Warranty adjuster denied the claim because car had this issue before I purchased it from Ryan’s Open Road Acura in East Brunswick, NJ. I, once again stopped by at the Ryan’s Open Road Acura in East Brunswick, NJ on Nov 30, 2020. I met with Use Car Sales Manager “Freddy” again and after spending more than 2 hours he looked through few vehicles that could possibly work with my budget. He found 2017 RDX but when we presented the numbers they were high. I asked “Freddy” I know trade is not worth for me but how come Ryan’s Open Road Acura in East Brunswick, NJ is not taking responsibility that I was dealt a bad hand and they should simply get the vehicle fixed as per the contract. I didn’t get any response to that and instead I was getting lame excuses like I was “cursing”. Fact is, he didn’t want to deal with the issue, he didn’t want to acknowledge vehicle that was not certified/was sold and now it’s my headache to deal with it. I am writing this let you all know what goes on when you purchase a used vehicle and how these dealers can treat you. Be warned.

This car brand offers the sporty model (ILX), the mid-size sedan model (TLX), the larger sedan (RX), the two SUVs (MDX and RDX), and an expensive sports car (NSX). All the cars are tastefully designed inside and out. The Acura brand provides in their standard cars what most others charge as extra. All the cars have leather seats that are very comfortable and superior handling. Most of the upgrades were "nice to have" options. The description was good enough to understand what I'd be getting if I opted for some of the personalized options. Passenger capacity in all Acura models is as expected. Sedans comfortably fit 4 people and the SUVs can fit one more.

When driving on a highway in a snow storm my dash lights up like crazy telling me that the Collision Mitigation and adaptive cruise control has stopped working. The voice on the warning said to turn off the engine and restart it. If this didn't help see the dealer. When I went to Pauly Acura to find out about the problem I was told that was normal. When I called Acura directly I was told to check the owner's manual and basically this is normal. We bought the car for its safety features. Wouldn't you want all features to work in bad weather? I asked what Acura was doing to correct the problem and was told nothing. I asked to talk to a supervisor and the lady I talked to would not connect me. My other car has the same type of system and works perfect in bad snow storms. This TLX 2015 with 3000 miles on it is not as good as our old 2001 or 2006. If I knew that this safety system had a problem I would of bought a different car. Who reads the owner's manual before they buy a new car?

2014 acura mdx - Unusual engine noise when idling. It started in March of 2015. Took it to dealership. Was informed that it common noise to mdxs. However, when I bought this mdxs new there was not this unusual noise present. So acura has no fix for this problem. Others have reported similar noise. I believe that a class action lawsuit against acura will have to be taken for them to fix this problem.

Looking at all of the reviews that preceded the one I am writing, I think the problem is that Honda Corp. has allowed itself to become "Americanized". The service culture of North America has increasingly taken over the company and it is behaving more like a GM, FORD or Chrysler. The pedantic, customer-oriented style of Japan has slowly been wrung out of Honda North America. My Acura 2008 MDX which I purchased as a certified model in late 2011 has been a basket of problems. Poor shocks (which they won't acknowledge), tire replacement after just 25,000 miles, a GPS system that needed to be replaced, battery that failed quite conveniently after its warranty expired, a power tailgate that didn't operate properly, a failure of a relay that affected the Air Conditioning are just a few of the problems. The ride on my MDX is very rough and I can't figure out why. Most have been taken cover under the warranty - but it's a pain to keep going into the shop. I thought the whole idea buying a premium SUV was that as long as you did the regular maintenance, this type of thing wasn't supposed to happen. This is certainly the case with Mercedes E350 that I own and my previous Lexus RX 350 (which was a fantastic vehicle). The service culture at the dealerships is okay but it feels more like a Ford dealership than a Lexus or Mercedes dealership. The other day, their shuttle driver forgot that my son had been waiting for 45 minutes for a lift home and he ended up having to get home on his own. It was an innocent mistake but the problem was indicative of some structural problems. Again, this is okay for a middle value car but for a company that is holding itself out as a premium company, it's not acceptable. It's unlikely I'll buy an Acura again. I'll go back to Lexus where frankly the product and after market service was just a league above. To put in airline terms, Acura feels like "premium economy" not "business class". I don't know if anyone at Acura reads these reviews, but someone should start paying attention. There is a lot of competition out there. Finally, the weird thing is that whenever I send my car in for servicing, I get assailed for customer feedback. Yet when I sent an email on this, there was still no response. Hopefully, our reviews are taken seriously by someone who has some influence within Acura.

I will keep this short. We have owned 6 different Hondas and Acuras and this will be our last! We bought this 2019 RDX in October 2018 and the brakes have been squeaking loud since day 2. We have taken it into two different Acura service centers to get it fixed three different times since Dec 2018 and we hear the same thing every time “it is a known issue that Acura engineering is working.” How long does it take to fix this without a recall? Where is the buyback for this annoying and unsafe condition? nowhere to be found.A call to Acura customer service gets you the same place. After waiting two weeks for my case manager to really look into the issue, I was told to take the car back to the same service center so someone can look at it? I thought it was a known issue? I thought it was with Acura engineering? Oh wait, it is. The service center will change out the brakes and rotors but that does not fix the issue just wastes time and effort. Until Acura figures out how to treat customers right and work real issues with criticality, do them a favor and treat them like the brand they are...buy a Kia. At least it will be cheaper and still squeak.

Upon purchasing my 2015 Acura TLX, I was not told that Acura and Apple iPhones do not play nice with each other. At the time I had an iPhone 5S and now have an iPhone 8 and neither work with my car's hands-free dialing. I have carefully entered contact names and voice tags into my speed dial list but when I speak the name John **, up comes a list of names starting with Mary **. Acura offers no fix. Quite the deal from a so-called luxury care.
