After 6 years of being a loyal customer to Volkswagen, this is the thanks I get. I have a lease that is up Feb. 2016. November 2015 I was called into my dealer to trade out my car for a new lease. I explained I had fallen back on some payments, because I was out of work for a few months due to medical issues. I was making slow payments but doing my best. I had returned to work full-time and was ready to get the deal done with the new lease. They said Volkswagen, would not approve another lease because of slow payments. I was on-time every month for 51/2 years, and as you know real life happens sometimes. In any event the dealer said he was able to work out a deal and I should come in and sign papers. I arrived to the dealership at our scheduled time... waited 2 1/2 hrs. only to be told that there was an error. It was not approved and in fact Volkswagen credit wanted the dealer to confiscate my vehicle right there. They allowed me to leave "yeah right" gimmicks. I stepped outside and immediately called VW Credit to rectify the situation. They told me to make two payments and I would be up to date, or a least put back in the 30 mark. I agreed, I would go to Moneygram in the morning and get things squared away. Needless to say a few hours later my car was repossessed, from a friend's "private enclosed garage" already suing which means I was followed to location "lawsuit in effect." I only owed them $1,000. I had to pay $3200 to get my car back. Explain. Devils. My credit is now ruined, the vehicle is still due back in Feb. and I am assed out!! This is the second time they have screwed me over. I have bought them so much business I got 6 other family members to get a Volkswagen. So glad all leases are coming to an end. We will never support Volkswagen again. I will shout from the Mountain top!! Hate them all. Trust me lease or buy elsewhere!! Please believe me I have so many horror stories dealing with them!!

2017 GTI Polo with known thermostat and water pump issues, The car has 35000klms on it. They will not replace it, fix it at my expense. There is no goodwill at all, I could understand if the car had over 100000 km - but it is still new and it is a known problem. VW never again!!

I purchased a VW Jetta TDI in early 2010. By mid-2011, the Air Conditioner was not working properly and I needed a new Compressor that cost me $1200. Approximately 3 years later, I am told that I need another compressor because the A/C is not working. I have had this vehicle for approximately 4 years and literally it has had 3 compressors. I am about to spend $1400 on this 3rd compressor and Volkswagen Customer Care Unit people state that there is no assistance they can provide. The car has too many years on it (a total of four) and I will have to pay for the 3rd compressor (I paid for the second one too). The only comment I have is that I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER VW VEHICLE; IT IS CRIMINAL AND PATHETIC THAT A COMPANY STATES 3 COMPRESSORS IN 4 YEARS IS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. What a hypocritical "Care Unit." I have received no satisfaction and I would never recommend purchasing a Volkswagen vehicle.

The fit and finish on my VW is on another level compared to domestics in the segment. The car has held up quite nicely. Service at the dealership is a bit pricey so I've found a good independent mechanic. Overall my Eos delivers a great experience on summer days and feels comfortable enough for long haul road trips up and down the I-5.

I owned a 2010 VW diesel Golf during the timeframe eligible for former owner compensation. Before the emissions scandal occurred, my Golf required a $2000 diesel particulate filter at 96k miles. I reluctantly replaced it because I loved the car and the clean diesel emissions. At 100k miles I had the recall emissions software upgrade, and at 106k miles the light came back on and I was told it needed a second $2000 diesel particulate filter. I learned that many owners chose to drive it with the DPF light on, but Service recommended not to as it would impact other functions. I couldn't justify another $2000, so I traded the car in to the dealership and got a used Honda in return. 2 weeks later the scandal hit the news, and I learned that a Diesel Particulate Filter did nothing. I filed a Settlement Claim, got confirmation of eligibility, uploaded all the documents, and 6 months later they denied it. I filed an appeal and have been emailing them once per month, but still no money. What a fiasco, I wonder if any former owners will ever get their money if current owners are having trouble.

I turned in my lease 3 months early because I was going to go over my mileage. I went in to discuss options. They told me they would waive my remaining months for buying a new vehicle with them. Now 3 month later I get an invoice for 1500 (way more than 3 payments of my lease) and VW is pawning this off on the dealership, Volkswagen Cypress, who won’t return my phone calls or emails. They are flat out scamming me! VW main office were so rude and horrible. I will never do business with them again and warn everyone to stay away from VW. The automatic responses that I have received really show this is common practice.

I have had leaking issues with my 2007 eos but have been told by dealer every time I had taken in that they could not detect any leaks. When it rained hard it leaks and it leaks on door panel and on part of leather seat. After I picked up car from dealer I would take to car wash. Of course it leaked then just like when it rains really hard. Called volkswagen customer service and they told me that they don't recommend taking to high pressures car wash and that they feel there is no issue. I was fed up constantly taking car to dealer not only for leaking but other issues. My car has condensation on inside of windows and the leather that cover door panels have peeled up from door. Driver's side window control needs to replaced. I will never buy or recommend a volkswagen ever. Dealership or company will not acknowledge any leaking issue.

2008 VW Passat 2.0T burns lots of oil.I purchased my 2008 VW Passat 2.0T on 5/2/11. I had oil change on 7/15/11 and was over 2 quarts low. I contacted my dealership since this car had less than 50,000 miles, why is its 100% synthetic oil breaking down like this since I obviously have a leak. The dealership said to check oil every 1000 and call back at next oil change; burnt/slipped around rings 2 quarts of oil. The dealership doesn't want to do oil consumption test because it's within "manufacturer acceptable limitations". Any oil consumption that requires I carry oil with me in my vehicle represents a real problem. This takes my $100 regular oil changes to $130. And nobody thinks this should be disclosed to the consumer prior to making a purchase decision? I did the research before I purchased and I didn't even dream of looking up this subject. I researched electrical malfunctions, engine life, performance, etc. This was never mentioned by the dealership, and now isn't "their" issue.

I purchased a new 2010 Golf TDI a few years ago. My first VW ever after owning everything from Mercedes to Scion. I've been impressed by the comfort, performance, and fuel mileage. My problem started about six months ago when, without warning, the car failed to start. Checked all typical causes with no success. After the cost and inconvenience of a tow to the dealership it sat there for several days. They were unable to find the cause of the problem as it started for them. They charged me $105 for the privilege of doing nothing.Fast forward to a few days ago, exactly the same symptoms as before, no start. Towed to the dealership an entire day wasted waiting. The car gets to the dealership and the mechanic goes to look at it and it starts.... Car is at dealership for several days again and the service manager eventually tells me they can't duplicate the problem and can't do anything more.By this point I'm furious and call VW USA Customer Care, several phone calls later they essentially tell me the same thing, sorry can't help. So I have a car in the garage I'm afraid to drive because of the likelihood of being stranded yet again. I will NEVER buy another VW product; Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, Ducati, etc.Here's the totally unacceptable response I received after posting to VW USA Facebook page: "We're very sorry to hear about your experience, and we apologize that we were unable to meet your expectations. Should you experience any further concerns with your Golf and visit your local VW dealer for inspection, please don't hesitate to reach out to us again."

I just took delivery of my 2014 Jetta Hybrid on Saturday. No easy way to put it but the claimed MPG for this Hybrid is BS. I have been driving it just highway miles and on cruise and only 2 mph over the speed limit 67 and I have been averaging 30 mpg. Which ** stinks. My reasoning for trading in my 2012 Audi was to get better gas mileage, which is not what is advertised on the sticker of 42 city and 48 highway. I am absolutely furious to say the least since I am well into a half a tank and only 200 miles. This is completely false advertising in the side of the manufacturer.I am so upset you have no idea. Just in the last 6 years, I have had 4 VWs and have been extremely loyal to the brand. I had an 2012 Audi and traded that since I was getting 28-30 mpg and driving much more. Since the Jetta is advertised at 42 city and 48 highway, I knew this was going to be a significant gain. This car is nowhere near what is claimed and I am completely upset about this. I will also be reach out to others on this matter.
