Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport mechanic
Volkswagen AG, known internationally as the Volkswagen Group, is a German multinational automotive manufacturing corporation headquartered in Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony, Germany.
The 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport is a stylish and versatile two-row SUV that shares many features with its larger sibling, the Atlas. Here are some of the key features available in the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport:
Engine Options: The Atlas Cross Sport offers two engine choices. The standard engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 producing 235 horsepower. There's also an available 3.6-liter V6 engine generating 276 horsepower.
Exterior Design: The Atlas Cross Sport features a sportier and more aggressive design compared to the larger Atlas, with a sloping roofline and a more compact overall profile. It retains the bold and muscular styling cues of the Atlas but with a more coupe-like appearance.
Interior Comfort and Space: The Atlas Cross Sport offers a spacious and well-designed interior with two rows of seating, accommodating up to five passengers. Available features include leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, a power-adjustable driver's seat with memory settings, and a panoramic sunroof.
Infotainment and Connectivity: The Atlas Cross Sport comes standard with a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Higher trims offer an 8-inch or 10-inch touchscreen display, a premium Fender audio system, navigation, and a wireless smartphone charging pad.
Safety Features: Similar to the larger Atlas, the Atlas Cross Sport comes equipped with a variety of standard and available safety features such as forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a surround-view parking camera system.
Driver Assistance Features: Additional driver assistance features available in the Atlas Cross Sport include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, automatic parking assist, and a semi-autonomous driving mode called Traffic Jam Assist.
Cargo Space: While the Atlas Cross Sport sacrifices some cargo space compared to the three-row Atlas, it still offers a respectable amount of cargo space behind the second row, with up to 40.3 cubic feet of cargo space. Folding down the rear seats expands the cargo capacity to 77.8 cubic feet.
All-Wheel Drive: The Atlas Cross Sport is available with Volkswagen's 4Motion all-wheel-drive system, providing enhanced traction and stability in various road conditions.
Overall, the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport combines stylish design, comfortable interior, and a wide range of features, making it a compelling option in the two-row SUV segment.

Product Reviews:
Have a 2016 Passat. Laid keys in trunk and when rain started, shut trunk, forgetting keys were in it. Doors were unlocked, but could not get trunk open with internal latch, so had car towed into dealer. Already had a previous appointment to resolve electrical issues that had been ongoing from another dealer which had not been fixed. Car had 18k miles on it. Dealer could not get trunk unlocked, so instead of fixing the internal latch at the door to open the trunk, they called a locksmith and charged us $125 for a key to "unlock" the trunk. Got the car home, the "key to unlock the trunk" did not work. There is no place to put a key in the trunk, the latch still did not work and we could not get the trunk open. Called the dealer and they refused to refund $125.Did some online research and found there is a button in the glove compartment to push which resets the trunk, pushed the button and the trunk opened. Again, advised dealer of this and the inability of their staff to fix this issue and again requested refund, again was refused. Now, they won't even respond to us. When daughter went to pick up the car and pay for what was supposed to be an oil change, she questioned the charge and they were very rude to her, caused her embarrassment and caused her to cry. Volkswagen Customer Care refuses to help since the problem is not Manufacturer. The issue started from a dealer installed LoJack system, which customer was not made aware of. Dealer will not return calls, nor will GM.T of Mosheim, TN

I purchased a new 2010 Golf TDI a few years ago. My first VW ever after owning everything from Mercedes to Scion. I've been impressed by the comfort, performance, and fuel mileage. My problem started about six months ago when, without warning, the car failed to start. Checked all typical causes with no success. After the cost and inconvenience of a tow to the dealership it sat there for several days. They were unable to find the cause of the problem as it started for them. They charged me $105 for the privilege of doing nothing.Fast forward to a few days ago, exactly the same symptoms as before, no start. Towed to the dealership an entire day wasted waiting. The car gets to the dealership and the mechanic goes to look at it and it starts.... Car is at dealership for several days again and the service manager eventually tells me they can't duplicate the problem and can't do anything more.By this point I'm furious and call VW USA Customer Care, several phone calls later they essentially tell me the same thing, sorry can't help. So I have a car in the garage I'm afraid to drive because of the likelihood of being stranded yet again. I will NEVER buy another VW product; Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, Ducati, etc. Here's the totally unacceptable response I received after posting to VW USA Facebook page: "We're very sorry to hear about your experience, and we apologize that we were unable to meet your expectations. Should you experience any further concerns with your Golf and visit your local VW dealer for inspection, please don't hesitate to reach out to us again."T. of Seattle, WA

Runs forever with little maintenance. Gets good gas mileage. I love my bug. It's easy to drive, fits in small parking spaces. I was worried about cargo space but you would be totally surprised the room and what I can fit in there!Kathi of Riverside, CA

I have 2021 Atlas Cross Sport, I love the vehicle but the remotes are extremely frustrating. Fob will not work unless you're very close to the vehicle. I took it in to the VW dealer and the service rep said, "You're not the only one complaining about issue and unfortunately there is no no fix for this problem." Why can’t VW come up with a fix?Khalid of Oakville, ON

Extremely disappointed with my 2016 VW golf sportswagon and their customer care. I have been a VW owner for 20 years and didn’t have any problems with the quality until I purchased this car. The car had transmission problems only after 6 months and the same issue happened numerous time during the 5 years. Not to mention that there were a few recalls as well. The turbocharger also failed just shortly after the warranty expired. I called VW customer care to see if they can help given that I had been a loyal customer. The experience with customer care had been terrible and disappointing. It took 6 weeks for them to complete an assessment for the car. I had to follow up numerous times and was always given the answer that they will look into it and call me back. But they never did. It’s not until that we went to the dealership to talk to the service manager that customer care put effort to complete an assessment of the repairs. It’s disappointing that given the quality history of the car they are only willing to cover about half of the repair cost. Their decision is final and doesn’t given a chance to discuss further with them. The quality of this car is not what I expected from VW.What is also extremely disappointing is that they don’t offer basic customer service. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that I will get a call within 48 hours. It never happened as always and it took numerous follow up calls and 8 days later before a supervisor called. This is totally unacceptable customer service. Their “don’t care” attitude will drive away loyal customers. I will never buy another VW product or recommend them to a friend or family.Bill of Toronto, ON

I surrendered my Volkswagen Jetta for the diesel recall on 1/18/17 and Volkswagen has not paid off my lender as of today's date. I continue to make my payments to keep my account current and preserve my credit, even though I have signed power of attorney over to Volkswagen. I am not making any progress with Volkswagen. It's a different story every time I call them. I need assistance please. I have every phone call and correspondence written down for verification. I have received my final offer, and Volkswagen has admitted over the phone they made a mistake on the payoff amount, even though they are supposed to contact my lender (Santander) to verify the payoff amount.catherine of North Chesterfield, VA

I love this car. It is reliable, compact, concubine, it fits my lifestyle, it gets good gas mileage and I like its sleek aerodynamic shape. I don't like Aquarius looking cars and this car is rounded on all its exterior chassis. I also liked the features for what I was purchasing. It felt like a quality care with quality accouterments at an affordable price. A good value for the money, indeed. However, I would like to see the Volkswagen in general including mine get better gas mileage. It is a 4.0 engine and should be getting a lot better mileage than its currently being. Very disappointing.Lisa of Beaverton, OR

At 62k miles, my VW's coil pack ignition just failed, which is costing me about over $600. I can't believe my VW make and model wasn't part of the recall. I would appreciate VW of America to reimburse me for my disbursement because this is not fair and no other makers of cars run through such headache of mechanical failures. My car stopped in the middle of the roads and would not budged, where I could easily get killed. I also maintained all the regular maintenance required by VW. Now I have to lose a day of paid work and over $600 in repairs due to VW faulty parts.Myrl of Medford, MA

I’ve never bought a brand new car and wasn’t able to get a loaner vehicle when there’s a warranty issue. I’ve never had this experience with BMW or Mercedes or any other new car that I’ve owned in my entire life. If the car breaks be prepared to not have a car, for however long it takes him to fix it. Worst warranty program ever. I will never buy another VW EVER AGAIN. I’m receiving safety recall notices in the mail but can’t get them fixed. The dealerships will only drive you 10 miles from the dealer and I live more than 10 miles away from a dealer. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with the new car.Ryan of Kissimmee, FL

So here is the deal. My husband and I, we purchased 2013 VW Tiguan. During the first year I had to bring the car to the dealer 4 times, due to an engine problems. First time, the engine light went on (at that point the car was about 4 months old!! ), we brought it to the dealer and after they checked it, they told us that it is just a glitch in electronics...Two months later, the light comes again, we bring it to the dealer and hear the same story...yet this time they told us that they switched something off (!!!!), so that the "false" engine light alert won't come on again! Couple of months go by (just FYI - I commute on highways every day to and from work), and when I'm in the middle of my way home, the engine light goes on again... 20 minutes later, after the light had came on, the car just stalls/the engine shuts off!! Luckily the traffic was heavy and I was going about 10-15 miles/hour...I had to come to a complete stop in the middle of the highway and restart the car. I can't even imagine what would've happened if I was going the full speed...We brought the car to the dealer, and were informed a day later, that there is a sensor problem, and that they will be replacing it. When we took back the car we asked the dealer multiple times whether this problem will be happening again - they assured us that it will not!Yet, a couple of days ago (the car is one year and 2 months old at this point) I start my regular commute from work to home, and...here we go, the engine light comes back on!!! And, as in the old scenario 20 minutes later (luckily I was still downtown - so the speed was about 5 miles/hour. I was giving a way for another car to go on the stop sign) the car engine just suddenly shuts off! I then decided to go to the dealer right away, and on my way to the dealer the car stalled (engine shut down) for the second time!!! LUCKILY AGAIN I was going on low speed due bad weather condition (first snow) and bad traffic!!! It just terrifies me to think about what would've happened if I was going 55-60 miles?? This time the dealer told us that there is a wiring problem (the wires that lead to the sensor are all messed up). I understand that they would fix this, but I am now extremely skeptical about the quality of this vehicle. I can't trust to use it anymore...I am now wondering if I should give up the idea of being a VW owner at all...Given that there was a recent recall on Tiguan models (some manufacturer's mistake with the engine programming - which we supposedly took care of!! ), I was wondering if some of you have faced the same problem with the engine suddenly shutting off (Remember the GM manufacturer's mistake and engines shutting off, when people died due to this?). If so, I urge everyone who experienced this to please respond, we need to take action - as it might be some manufacturer mistake, which might have terrible consequences in the future!!Kateryna of Northfield, IL
