Scion is a discontinued marque of Toyota that debuted in 2003. Intended to appeal to younger customers, the Scion brand emphasized inexpensive, stylish, and distinctive sport compact vehicles, and used a simplified "pure price" sales concept that eschewed traditional trim levels and dealer haggling; each vehicle was offered in a single trim with a non-negotiable base price, while a range of dealer-installed options was offered to buyers for personalizing their vehicles. The Scion name, meaning the descendant of a family or heir, refers both to the brand's cars and their owners. In an effort to target the generation Y demographic, Scion primarily relied on guerrilla and viral marketing techniques.

The 2016 Scion iA was a compact sedan that offered a balance of affordability, fuel efficiency, and a range of features. Here are some of the features commonly found in the 2016 Scion iA:

Fuel Efficiency: The Scion iA was known for its impressive fuel economy, making it a practical choice for daily commuting and city driving.

1.5-Liter Engine: The car was powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that provided adequate power for its size. It was paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission.

Standard Features: Unlike many compact cars, the Scion iA came very well-equipped even in its base trim. It included features like keyless entry, push-button start, power windows and mirrors, cruise control, and a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel.

Infotainment System: The iA featured a standard 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which was relatively large for its class. It included a backup camera, Bluetooth connectivity, USB ports, and voice recognition.

Advanced Safety Features: The Scion iA stood out for offering advanced safety features typically not found in its price range. It included a low-speed forward collision warning system with automatic emergency braking, making it a safer choice compared to some competitors.

Interior Quality: The interior of the iA was well-designed and featured higher-quality materials compared to some other vehicles in its class. Soft-touch surfaces and a modern layout contributed to a more premium feel.

Handling and Ride Comfort: The iA had responsive and nimble handling, making it enjoyable to drive on city streets and winding roads. The suspension provided a balance between sportiness and ride comfort.

Compact Size: With its compact dimensions, the iA was easy to maneuver and park, making it well-suited for urban environments.

Trunk Space: The iA offered a relatively spacious trunk for its size, enhancing its practicality for carrying groceries, luggage, and other cargo.

Scion Branding: The Scion brand was known for offering vehicles with distinctive designs and customizable options. The iA carried some of this brand identity with its unique styling cues.

Product Reviews:

I loved the Scion TC. It drove well, had good pick up, and good gas mileage. The car looked nice and had a moon roof that I loved. It had airbags all around, it looks and handles like a sports car, but is considered a car so the insurance isn't as high as that of a sports car. But if I could change anything about the car, I would make the ride a little smoother, and eliminate the blind spots.

I got a brand new 2016 Scion iA. I fell in love with it until after 6 months of ownership and less than 7,000 miles my display screen started to turn off while I was driving it! I've gone to the dealership three times to get it fixed and they tell me since they don't see what goes on they can't do anything to fix it! The customer service is beyond lazy, unprofessional and rude! I have several videos of my screen turning off while I am driving it and they keep insisting that nothing is wrong with it! I know my car. I've had it for a little over 6 months so I know that something is wrong with it, but because they don't want to get off of their lazy butts and find the problem I'm having to be terrified that something else might go wrong with it!

My 2009 Scion XD had thick black smoke pouring out of the driver's side door after I started the car and rolled the windows down. It smelled like burning tires. I was in a crowded parking garage on the 4th floor. I turned the ignition off and ran away from the car because I thought it was going to go up in flames. Luckily the smoke disappeared...but not the putrid odor. I proceeded to drive home...but I was petrified the entire trip. I called the dealership the next morning and left a message. No one returned my call. I called back a total of 12 times....nothing....so I called back again. No one would help me. I took the fuse out that powers the windows and drove up to the dealership. I located a service advisor and told him what happened. I have an appointment tomorrow morning. I'm really frustrated with this situation. I wonder if anyone else has experienced this type of problem?

2010 Scion XB - My experience with Hickory Toyota was very good. At first the financing went pretty smooth all the way. Had to be called back in order to finish my financing but I have been very satisfied overall. In the 2nd month, after I've had the car ranging from 2012 to now 2016 I have put 15 sets of brakes on the car back and front here. Lately I have had the rotors turned 28th another set of brakes. I'm still not satisfied with the overall appearance of the way it stops. My car stalled on me. Sept 2016 I had to put a battery in it which I had already put a battery in it a year ago from Toyota. October my car stalled on me at the red light. I made it to my workplace and the car completely cut off. I called Toyota. They were very nice and send out a wrecker which cost me a lot of money to have the car towed for them to fix it. It was my alternator which cost me a total of $764 minus $100 that my insurance paid on the towing bill. My car still is not in Tip-Top shape but I could really understand because it does have over 200,000 miles on it. This is really getting on my nerves because of the way my car still is wanting to cut off at stops or when I come to a red light or stop sign. I am very very confused with this. I just wonder what's going on with my Scion XB. Is it the mileage on it or do I just need to try to it something else. I've had a bad experience with this car and it seems to be getting worse and worser. Oh yes after I picked up my car from Toyota replacing the alternator, my car sound awful and sound like it was going to cut off. I told them about it, they looked at it again and said it should smooth out on its own. Well it has not. Thank you so much for listening.

Last weekend my ~1 year old Scion FR-S dies completely out of the blue on the 405 while my eight month pregnant wife was driving it. This is a car that is just over one year old, was bought new from this dealer, and is still under warranty. We get it towed to this service center Saturday. Eddie ** tells us: "We'll know what's wrong by the end of the day!" and "We'll cover you for a rental. Just call us Monday morning!" Monday morning comes around. No word about what is wrong with the car. All calls to Eddie go to voicemail. No calls are returned. I walk to the service center and find Eddie. He says he is still "waiting on authorization from Japan". He tells me he will not offer me a free rental. I'm late to work and have to rent a car from Enterprise to get to work. The next day Eddie tells me that they will not cover clutch repairs under warranty. I have never abused my car, and in previous warranty services have reported clutch/transmission issues which they failed to investigate properly or fix. They tell me that if I want the car fixed under warranty I have to authorize a tear down of the transmission. They provide no quote detailing how expensive this tear down will be. They say that if they find the problem after the tear down is the clutch they will not cover it. If the problem is in the transmission and is a covered by warranty they will cover it. I ask them about the other possibility, if they tear down and find no issue with the transmission. They say in that case I will have to pay for the tear down (again, not provided with any estimate of tear down cost).I decline based on the fact that I have never abused the clutch, and we have experienced and reported previous clutch/transmission issues (and have recorded video evidence of this prior to service where they "could not reproduce it" happening) it does not seem reasonable that I should be liable for paying for investigatory work to determine what is wrong with my car under warranty. I decline to authorize the tear down. When they refuse to negotiate or provide further information, I am force to tow the car to another dealership for service.

My husband is 6'7'' and he has difficulty finding a car which he fits into. He has a large upper body torso. We liked our first 2005 Toyota Scion XB, good interior room. Has little eye appeal however good gas mileage, handles well. And most importantly, I was involved in a motor vehicle crash and it protected me well with all airbag deployment and also seat belt was adjustable for my height of 5'3" which I believed saved my life. Yes I had injury, but when you consider I was hit by a tractor trailer from behind and then hit into large truck in front of me, I feel lucky to be alive. Not pretty but very durable. Yes he bought another Scion XB 2014, new car.

On 10/18/14 our 2006 Scion XB back door garnish broke. In doing some online research we found that this is a common problem with this model and the repair is covered under a warranty enhancement/Extension of Warranty Coverage for Back Door Garnish Loose or Broken (warranty policy bulletin no. POL 13-01). We contacted the closest dealer McGeorge Toyota Scion 9319, W Broad St. Henrico, VA 23294 to get it repaired under this warranty and they stated it was nothing they could do under warranty to repair the problem. We mentioned the previously stated warranty and they were persistent in letting us know that the warranty will not repair this problem. We went back to the internet for some help with this no warranty repair problem. Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. website had all the information on this problem. Upon reading the first bit of information it stated: Owner Notification Letter Mailing Date - The owner notification will commence in late March, 2013 and will be mailed over several months. We never received stated notification letter. We were the second owners of this XB which we purchased from Haley Toyota of Richmond 3600 Lonas Pkwy Midlothian, VA 23112. I am sure this was a slight oversight being we were the second owners. We would like to get this repair done as soon as possible under the warranty extension. I also read that Scion is advising you (the owner) of this Enhancement to the Warranty coverage to assure you that we stand behind the product. This is the part that is a joke and a crock of it! We need some assistance on what to do next in getting the door repaired? We proceeded to contact Scion. We went back and forth. I wanted to know why there was a time limit on repairing a defective part they knew they had from the beginning. They replied in so many words that a warranty has it's limited and ours had expired. In other words we had to pay for the defective part they knew would happen later rather than sooner. Not even a compromise on they supply the part and I supply the labor. We'll be looking to purchase another vehicle in 2015 and I can assure you it definitely won't be a Toyota!!! Do not purchase a Toyota because they will not stand behind their product when the consumer needs it the most.

I am a full-time student which doesn't leave me as much time as I would like for work. I also have 2 dogs that ride around with me when I do have a day off. The AC in my 2009 Scion tC has stopped working yet again for a 3rd time. I get that the AC is a difficult thing to understand because of all the mechanisms that makes up the AC unit, but to have this problem 3 separate times is wrong. My sunroof squeals and it scares me, sometimes my car really shakes when I first start it. I have read that many people had trouble with their engine blowing out. I could not afford that and most importantly I am concerned for my dogs Buddy and Teddy's safety as well as my own.I understand there was never any warning signs before everyone's engine blew. I've been disgusted with the service provided to me so I've been really reluctant in my decision to go in for service. I will never spend any money there or on another car from there. My AC should be covered under warranty. If not they can keep the piece of trash they sold me. I'd rather walk everywhere. This made me give at least one star, in my opinion they really deserve 0 stars.

Since I buying this car (October 2015) in Puente Hills Toyota, 17070 Gale Avenue, City Industry, CA. When I using the navigation system (GPS) using radio or not THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM'S VOLUME IS LOW AND CAN BARELY HEAR THE VOICE. I went today August 18, 2016 to Puente Hills Toyota and they only update but they not fixed, I can't use my navigation system because is unsafe to see the screen only when I am driving.

While trying to open my trunk, the handle just broke. No aggressive force was used. This seems to be a common problem with Scions and it needs to be fixed in all past and current models.
