Ram Trucks, stylized as RAM and formerly known as the Ram Truck Division, is an American brand of light to mid-weight commercial vehicles, and a division of Stellantis. It was established in a spin-off from Dodge in 2010 using the name of the Ram Pickup line of trucks.

Easy to drive despite its size, the 2020 Ram 1500 is versatile and competitively capable. Redesigned for 2019, this half-ton pickup truck now wears sleek bodywork and can be equipped with an interior that rivals many luxury-brand SUVs for plushness, without compromising its ability to do real work. The Ram's smooth riding coil-spring suspension tops all rivals, and optional air springs at all four corners do even better regardless of load. The choices of drivetrains and equipment make it easy to find a version suited to weekend household chores, off-road fun, or serious towing and hauling. The Ram 1500 isn't just a great truck, it's a great vehicle, and that's why we named it to our 2020 10Best list.

Bought new 2500 Crew. 6.4 on spec sheet. Used 2qts of oil doing break-in, continued to smoke at startup, Gets 8mpg. Dealer said all is normal! Worst truck I have ever owned. Traded back to Chevy. Expensive lesson. Come to find out they cost same as Ford and Chevy new but when it's time to trade Ram, no one wants them. Lesson learned. Never again!

Def issue. Pump fail, I spend around 2000 dollar and replaced it. After few days engine light came on again and sensor not communicating with gauge. Now mechanic told me that def tank need to be replaced. All mechanics saying that there is lots of problem with Ram 1500 EcoDiesel trucks but why Dodge is not recalling?

Warranty Service: My 2011 Dodge Truck (VIN **) was taken to Crown Dodge, initially, for a shimmy at 70MPH (on cruise control). The problem was noticed when I decreased my average speed from 75MPH to 70MPH to save gas. The problem exists when ascending/descending long hill. The truck was taken to Crown Dodge 4 times; each time, something was done to correct the fault. However, after being told it was fixed, I drove it home on the I-44 turnpike, and the situation each time was the same. The final analysis was that it is the nature of the beast - that engine has such torque. A local independent repair facility assured me it was not the U-Joints. I took the truck to Central Oklahoma Dodge yesterday and gave the information above. Today, they tell me (Mark) that they cannot duplicate the problem. He (Mark) is going to take the truck on the freeway tomorrow to try to duplicate the problem. My question is, what if he duplicates the problem? Then what? If it is the nature of the beast, nothing can be done. I am unable/unwilling to drive a vehicle with a known problem. I converted to Dodge from Chevy/Ford at the suggestion of my close friend. This is my second Dodge. Please advise soonest. (I am unable to talk on the phone due to Cochlear implant. If you need me to call you, I have to use my CapTel phone.) Thank you.

I have had my 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi for 6 months now. The first problem is Sirius radio does not work all the time. It cuts off and on almost constantly. Second, and most troubling, is the transmission is not shifting properly from over drive (6th) down to any other setting. It takes about 5 to 10 seconds to respond, and while in cruise, it will delay downshifting while climbing an incline for as long as it takes to drop 5 to 7 miles per hour before it reacts. The other problem is first thing in the morning, the transmission will not go into reverse. You start the truck and drop it into reverse, and it just sits there. Put it back into park and wait about 1 to 3 minutes, and it goes into reverse but backs up so slowly that you would swear it was freezing outside.Next, the rear view mirror doesn't dim at night. Next, there is no road hazard warranty on the tires direct from Goodyear or the dealer, but they don't tell you that. Next, the truck was advertised to get 20 highway and 14 in town. My GMC truck got 21 on the highway, and this thing gets at best 13.8 MPG. I was told that the mileage should improve. I now have 38K on the truck, and fuel mileage has dropped to 9.2 MPG.Now to the best part. I have had this truck in my dealer's face at least 1 week a month or more every month for the past 6 months (since purchased new), and the line I'm being fed is that there is nothing wrong with my truck. Since it has not set a code, the dealer (and per Dodge) cannot change a part or spend their money correcting anything that isn't or doesn't break.I make my living with my truck. I'm losing money every mile I drive with the fuel expenses. A friend of mine is getting 22 MPG with his truck (a new 2012 also). Any one with a 2012 Ram that is experiencing the fuel mileage problems I have seen, please contact me. I need 500 owners with verifiable fuel mileage concerns to start a class action suit against Dodge. I spent many years building and restoring cars, and I'm tired of dealing with stupidity from these glorified parts changers (now called technicians, not mechanics) who can't find their ass without a code.

I need a diagnostics test to see why the RPMS escalate while sitting still and in drive, accelerating to about 7/8 RPMS,while not going nowhere. It's been doing this for about 2 1/2 yrs and all they can tell me is, cannot diagnose the problem if it doesn't register on the diagnostic tester. They want me to pay my deductible on my insurance, I'm not doing it. They should find out what's wrong with it at their expense since it's been happening at about 20,000 miles. And they will not pay for a loan car while it's being looked at. Lord help me if it shoots me out into traffic.

The track bar broke on my truck and I had lost steering. I managed to cross over two lanes of traffic to the emergency lane and crawl home at 25 miles per hour. When I called Dodge, the woman at the recall center said that they went by VIN numbers only and that my VIN number was not on the recall list. Therefore it could not have been the track bar that failed. As she continued, she said that they knew only 1500 trucks had the wrong smaller truck part and because my VIN was not on the list. It could not have been the track bar. I asked where do I go to get it fixed and submit proof of the track bar being the wrong size and she said it's up to me to get it fixed and it's not Dodge's fault if the wrong size was installed. But they would appreciate me being a Dodge customer. I HATE DODGE! Every Dodge we ever had, the driver's door come off the hinges or they break leaving us to weld the door shut, suspensions go, engines go. Grrrrr, frustrating.

I made the mistake of spending $45,000 on a brand new 2016 Dodge 2500. The day I drove it off the lot I turned around and came back and said there was a problem with the transmission. I was told I didn't know what I was talking about. 3 months later was in the shop for a repair that took two and a half weeks. Since that time it has been in the shop three additional times for the transmission. I recently asked case management that is handling the issue for me how many more times I must be inconvenience before they replace the transmission. I stated it's obviously defective and I was told, "No it's not defective because we can fix it."They've had four times to fix this transmission and it is yet to be fixed so in essence buying inconveniences are Unlimited as far as Dodge Chrysler are concerned. This is the third Ram truck I bought and it is the last. I will never ever purchase another Chrysler product and I would dissuade anybody from ever purchased the in Chrysler product. I'm tempted to put the lemon on the truck and driving around with a sign on it that says, "What an idiot. I should have bought a Ford." And to add insult to injury I have to rent my own vehicle while they have mine in the shop. Way to go Chrysler. Never again. Biggest piece of **.

2020 Ram Longhorn seats are uncomfortable and painful. Beautiful truck however, it is undriveable due to the extremely poor seat design. The contour of the seat design hurts the legs and hips and was not thought out whatsoever, which destroys what would be a great truck. It is important to design a seat correctly to make your product driveable, what a complete disappointment and it is unfathomable how this could possibly pass testing. Ram needs to step up and rectify this issue immediately.

I bought a new Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 on 03/26/2012. The warranty has run out. The truck currently has about 60k + miles on it. The truck started making a whining noise from the rear end. I brought it to my local Dodge dealer to get it looked at. Turns out it's the rear end pinion bearing that went bad. The mechanic told me that I might be in luck and that there might be a recall on this rear end. He did some research and found out my VIN number did not match the recall. The repair that the recall calls for is the same repair they did on my truck. The pinion bearing they took out of the truck was trashed due to lack of proper lubrication, the reason for the recall. I called the RAM customer assistance office and received no assistance with this repair. This lack of lubrication condition could cause the pinion bearing to seize and cause a loss of vehicle control and or cause a crash without warning. The last sentence was pulled directly from the recall advisory that for some reason does not include my truck yet the problem I had is just like the recall. RAM really needs to get this checked out before someone is injured. If you own a 2012 Ram 1500 get it checked out. Safety Recall K36.

I purchased a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 5.7 HEMI Quad Cab with 30,000 miles. It was a big purchase for me so I couldn't afford costly repairs. Well, I picked the wrong truck for that! Within the first year the truck spent a lot of time at a couple different dealers getting the dodge "kinks" out of it. A steering box, steering pump, 2 sets of ball joints, 2 sets of axle joints, front bearings, lower control arms, front cv drive shaft, 2 tie rod ends, clutch and flywheel, front Y pipe and sensors, wheel hub assemblies and other odds and ends. Now after so much work the steering is soo tight that every small move on the steering wheel the truck swerves in that direction and will not center itself. To add icing on the cake, even though I took good care of the body and kept it washed and waxed constantly, the clear coat is peeling off of the roof and top of the doors and rust bubbles are showing up everywhere. I drove it daily for 2 years until I parked it because I can not afford to keep repairing it or keeping the 14mpg engine fueled up. I spent hours talking to warranty reps and Chrysler and I would have been better off talking to my dog. I am simply just waiting until it is paid down enough to part with it and never look back. 2 1/2 years of nightmares and family loaners. $30K truck and I don't even trust it to haul my family.
