Nissan Motor Company is a Japanese multinational automobile manufacturer headquartered in Nishi-ku, Yokohama, Japan. The company sells its vehicles under the Nissan, Infiniti, and Datsun brands, with in-house performance tuning products labelled Nismo.

In spite of being virtually unchanged for more than a decade, the 2019 Nissan Frontier continues to sell well. Meanwhile, its mid-size pickup competitors have benefited from improvements during their lifespans—or they're all new. While the Nissan has a primitive cabin and tired styling, its cheap-yet-durable interior and configurable cargo box do have a certain appeal for those seeking the utmost in practicality. Likewise, the Frontier offers a comfortable ride and competent towing at an affordable price. However, anyone interested in modern powertrains, contemporary features, and up-to-date styling will want to look elsewhere.

Product Reviews:

We purchased a new 2015 Nissan Rogue with a CVT transmission, we also paid for an extended warranty. We have since put 91,000 highway miles on the vehicle. The transmission began to stutter and lightly slip at random intervals. I DROVE it to an authorized dealer (Antwerpen Nissan here in Owings Mills, MD). They told us that after ($149) diagnosis, it needed a valve body and cooling assembly. We were then informed that it needed a new Catalytic converter as well. They stated that our extended warranty expired at 60,000 miles, but Nissan would cover 60% of the transmission work. After replacing the parts, the vehicle was still doing the same thing and now would not shift out of 1st gear. We were informed that we were now responsible for an additional $1377.00 for another transmission part. Remember that I drove the vehicle there, with NO issues of shifting our of 1st gear. Bill at this point would now be around $3700.00. They have now replaced the additional part (I was not told what the mysterious part is) and again the vehicle will still not shift out of 1st gear and still slips. I have now been told that they will have to try and figure out what to do next, however it will of course be an additional charge. They have had the Rogue for 2 weeks now, they DID provide a courtesy car after 4 days. I have cited multiple online recalls for 2012 to 2018 Nissan Rogue with the CVT transmission, as well as lawsuits I have found about them. I was told that my vehicle is not listed by the Highway administration as being part of any recall or bulletin. BEWARE. We are adult drivers who are not rough on our vehicles. We are without our vehicle, currently sitting at a huge bill, a broken vehicle that has only gotten worse from the work that was done, and still waiting to hear how much MORE we will have to pay to get our Rogue back.

Transmission problems. They know about problems with their vehicles but don’t care. DO NOT make the same mistake I did. I have talked to several people that bought them and mechanics they agree, don’t BUY. I talked to their corporate office and they don’t care and won’t talk about the issue.

My family and I were debating about purchasing a new 2016 Nissan Rouge thinking it was a safe and a reliable family car but encountering these extremely dangerous mechanical issues I faced with my family in the car going 65 mph on the interstate had me thinking otherwise. The transmission fails when needing to accelerate then cuts back on after we just nearly missed getting into an accident with an 18 wheeler. This car is unsafe and was recalled by Nissan to get this issue fixed so I mean, they should be aware of this problem with these cars now that we are out of the extended warranty. Ms Amber ** the manager and Joe the specialist both specified (that they are not in the position to do anything) for our family that they are sorry, "OK, thank you." Just like that she ended the conversation. So now that you know they will not back up their product and at least help the cost of repair or completely exchanging it for the type 2 transmission for the car, please don't buy a Nissan. Read all defects and reviews, know how many people they have turned away because of this problem. Please choose a safer car for your family to drive in. Thank you for your time.

2013 Nissan Sentra SV with transmission issues. Took it to the Premier Nissan of San Jose and was told they could not find the issue. Test drove with the mechanic. Next day they say they can't reproduce the issue. Went back again and went on a test drive. Next day again they say they can't find the issue.I went back and this time another mechanic went on a drive with me and brought the computer to record data. He said that the car will need to stay there. This was already a week in the shop and they did not provide a loaner.Extremely poor customer service. The service advisors are a bunch of liars. They don't even call me back with a status update. I had to call them multiple times to find out. They changed their statement 3 times about me getting a loaner. 2 weeks in now and I am still without a car. Stay away from this dealership and stay away from Nissan. ABSOLUTELY MY LAST NISSAN EVER EVEN IF THEY GIVE ME A 50% discount.

I leased a brand new 2017.5 Nissan Rogue SV AWD Premium Package in July 2017. My vehicle traded was a 2015 Rogue (same model) I had hit my mileage on a year early. Not only was I pleased with my 15, but I spent 2 years as a Nissan employee, and I retain the Nissan Visa card. I would say I'm a pretty good customer and supporter. In 6 months and 7k (now 8k) miles, my Rogue has had the radio/navigation system fully replaced! My Rogue has also been TOWED into the dealership's service department! I work nights. It was Christmas Eve. The car never made it to work. Of course, 3 days later after the holiday, the Rogue worked fine and the mechanics could not duplicate the issue. A diagnostic test showed a possible air flow problem... which I read about in another review... but they really have no idea. I am a single mom, on a check-check basis, and one reason I lease is to avoid maintenance! I cry all the time in my car. I am frustrated. Every time I start the Rogue I wonder what will happen next. I have lost confidence in this vehicle. I filed a claim with Consumer Affairs. I have received 2 emails from the gal stating she has tried to reach me multiple times by phone but I have no missed calls, voicemails, nothing, and the number(s) is saved in my phone. I have responded to these emails but then have not heard back from "her". In the last week, I have called "her" DIRECT line 5x leaving my contact phone number 2x every message. I have gotten voicemail each time. Since December 26, 2017 I have called Nissan Consumer Affairs 8x. I should not have to be dealing with this regarding a vehicle purchased brand new not 7 months ago. Certain staff members at the dealership have been as helpful as they possibly can be but they have limitations which I understand. At least they're on my side. Nissan seems to think this entire issue is a game. It's not. I live in Columbus, Ohio. We do not have major public transport opportunities. I cannot afford a chauffeur, I cannot afford taxi cabs or Uber. Nissan needs to step up.

Usually I service on time at toronto dealer where I bought the car at same location. @ 32200+ KM got the engine oil replaces at sainte foy, QC (I was away with family) as advised by my dealer and 2 recalls performed. @33000+ KM came back to dealer (after my tour), asked about brake fluid flush, which is recommended by Nissan but its not done by dealer (dont know why). I gave my consent to replace if required. And for wheel rotation (which is also recommended by Nissan.)When I picked up my car, I feel there is gas pedal delay in the initial acceleration (between 800 and 1800 RPM). On minutely trying to identify, why there is an uneasiness for me to drive, the usual resistance in the gas pedal that is altered, and the pressure I usually put on the pedal has changed, and which started to get annoying. Usually I use 87 octane fuel. This time I filled 91 octane fuel, still the acceleration is identifiable. Usually I drive in ECO mode, which is sluggish. Normal is better and Sports mode is usually quite peppy. After trying all the combination, I realized this the feedback/resistance, may have been altered. Don't know how and why (forgot to mention I had also asked for bronze cleaning on the car). Dealer has failed to understand the point and they keep on telling me about sensors and error codes. What I realized after studying the matter that the sensor and codes will work nice, when the pedal recognizes the press.Concern of mine is the pressure is gas pedal stars identifying the press after a small delay (maybe we are talking about 5~7 millimeters). Why I am concerned: I have to press more gas pedal now to get to my normal driving habit for years/decades; I am quite concerned now if this pedal will have more issues to offer; Since the pedal feedback/resistance spring may have altered, it may happen, that say when in highway, it will get stuck to a position and send incorrectly send sensors of pedal being pressed even after removing feel from pedal. Now I feel little unsafe in this car. More details can be shared on request.

I leased a 2014 Pathfinder May of 2014. My gas mileage was very poor. At 2500 miles, I was averaging 8 to 9 miles to the gallon. The car is rated at 19 city and 25 highway. I mentioned it to the service department and he said I need to get more miles on the engine and that it would improve. Well I don't expect to get 19 mpg but at least 15 to 16 mpg. I now have 11,000 miles on the car and am averaging a big 10.1 to 10.3 city and 12.6 highway. I am not a lead foot driver. I took it to my dealership and they said they would check it out correct any problems they find. After having the car all day, they claim there is nothing wrong with my car. Is 12.6 highway send up a red flag or what. My friend has the exact same car as myself, same model, year, and engine. He averages 15.9 city and 18.2 highway with his a/C on. I mentioned this to my dealer, they said to call Nissan consumer affairs rudely. Well I did, they tried to tell me maybe it's the way I drive and look at my book from Nissan to get some tips on how to drive to get better gas mileage. What kind of tips can I get for highway driving? Your foot basically stays in one position driving on the turnpike at 65 to 70 mph. The woman at consumer affairs said to take it to another Nissan dealer for a second opinion and if they find nothing wrong then I'm basically stuck with what I have. She also said the gas estimates are just that an estimated mpg. Does 12.6 mpg come even close to the 25 mpg rating of Nissan. If I don't get any solution from Nissan then I will put big lemons on the car with gas mileage I am getting and park it in front of the dealership. Maybe it will get someone's attention. Well, that's where I stand at this point.

We have a 2008 versus with a CVT-transmission that went bad at 120956 mileage. Faulkner Nissan diagnostics stated trans needed to be replaced for 3300.00. The extended warranty was for 12000 miles. We contacted Nissan to ask for partial assistance and waive the 956 miles. Our request was denied by Rachael from consumer affairs who states she makes the decisions to grant customers request or not. She stated that our vin-number was not included in the extension which is not true according to Nissan's website. Ms. Rachael wanted us to have car re-diagnosed for 100.00 knowing she had already decided to decline assistance based on the false information about the vin - number not being included.

Losing power in the middle of traffic. Now they are saying I need to replace the transmission which is gonna cost $4600.00 dollar which only have 6800 miles on it. I pulled over. Let it cool down. It's a 2012 Nissan Rogue that I've only had one year. I've read so many reviews on this same problem. There should be some sort of recall on this. Please I need help on correcting this matter. I have breast cancer and I need my car to get to my treatments and it is so dangerous for my car to be lagging in traffic. Please help me.

My situation is no different than most of these other complaints, so I'll be brief. My local Nissan dealership says that they have no idea why my 2011 Juke refuses to start from time to time. Even after replacing my alternator, (700.00) they still don't know. It's a pity that the Nissan dealership can't repair their own vehicles.
