Land Rover is a British brand of predominantly four-wheel drive, off-road capable vehicles, owned by multinational car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover, since 2008 a subsidiary of India's Tata Motors. JLR currently builds Land Rovers in Brazil, China, India, Slovakia, and the United Kingdom.

Few SUVs are as capable as the 2019 Land Rover Discovery—and that refers both to its off-road potential and its people-hauling competence. From all three rows of seats, occupants are treated to spacious accommodations with a clear view of the road ahead as well as the roadside or trailside sights you'll encounter along the way. And getting to those trailside sights is one of the Disco's main selling points, as it boasts a maximum 11.1 inches of ground clearance—more than some jacked-up four-wheel-drive pickup trucks—thanks to an optional air-adjustable suspension and all of Land Rover's adventure-oriented off-road gear. For those times when your adventure calls for on-road duty, the Discovery delivers a plush ride, an upscale cabin, and plenty of infotainment and driver-assistance tech—some of which is newly standard for 2018.

Within 10 months of purchase of a new 2012 Range Rover from the Glen Cove dealership, the "check engine" light came on. I took it to the same dealer for service. Within two days, I got my car back. A week later, the light came back. I took it in for service again. This time they told me that the entire fuel system was contaminated from bad gas and needs to be replaced, but the warranty does not cover that and it will cost me $8,700. The insurance apparently does not cover that either. I am outraged. My car is less than a year old, and I can't drive it. I have never heard of such a problem in my 30 years of driving many cars.

Unfortunately, since the time I bought this car (end of September 2018) I had many issues with my new Land Rover Velar 2019. First issues were mostly electrical (screen not working, error messages while being stopped at a red light, back camera not working, etc.). I took the car in two opportunities and they explained these cars usually need software updates. I thought I should not waste my time taking the car to the dealer but did it…. I also had a weird noise with the brakes. They had to change them. Then I had to take the car for the Annual Service. They checked everything and in less than a month, my engine light was on! Took the car AGAIN and they said it was another engine software (not sure why no one update this when I took the car for my annual service?). But after taking the car 2 times, in less than a month my engine light went on AGAIN!! I was so upset and frustrated. The dealer suggested me that I contact Land Rover Customer Service for a Re-Purchase, as it’s obvious to me I have a defective car… After talking to someone for 38 minutes, she asked me many questions about my car, even if I have already paid for the car which we did, she simply said my case didn’t apply for re-purchase. She didn’t explain why or what was the criteria. Her only “solution” was for me to keep taking my car to the dealer. What type of solution is this? I asked to talk to her supervisor. She said he would call in the next 5 hours which he didn’t. He called passed the 5 hours and left a message saying I should follow this with the customer service representative, like ignoring my request of talking to him….I’m EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH LAND ROVER CUSTOMER SERVICE. My advice is: if you want a car that works and is reliable, PLEASE don’t buy this car. It’s gorgeous but it’s not reliable and customer service will not help you at all. They will just send you to the dealer and you will waste your time and money taking the car for service many times.

I purchased a 2016 Range Rover and returned the Range Rover Sport about 10 times to have the navigation system repaired due the wrong directions that the system produced. I am a realtor and need use of the nav all day and all week. I have to use my iPhone for directions and when customers are call me all day, I can't see my nav on my phone. The salesman told me that the navigation and equipment was the best you can get and after paying $88,000 for the Range Rover Sport I found that friends of mine who purchased $25,000 cars had navigation systems that put mine to shame! The dealer and the CORPORATE office didn't care. A matter of fact, the unit was so bad that they change the system completely in the 2017 due to the many problems but they wouldn't admit it or make me happy by putting a 2017 unit in its place. Also the cost to maintain the automobile is extremely expensive. Don't think about buying a Range Rover before you read the 1000's of complaints.

We've always had a Range Rover in the family and change them every two or three years. This one is a 3 litre diesel HSE with a few extras like air conditioned seats, a fridge in the console, self close doors and of course a tow bar which on this new model is electrically retractable. As all the others we've had no problems other than caused by a moronic parking scam in Spain damaging the electronic brake trying to drag the vehicle away. Land Rover were brilliant, arranged for it to be taken into dealer and repaired under warranty even though it wasn't their fault and we had a free hire car for the 4 days it was in the dealer.

I purchased a 2017 Range Rover Evoque Convertible in February 2017. If I knew then, what I know now, I would HAVE NEVER purchased the Range Rover Evoque Convertible. Here are the very few good things: Smooth Ride, SUV Convertible. Here is a list of the bad things with this car: Car not starting and stalling out: About 2 months ago this car started stopping mid drive. It does not happen every day, but when it does it is very scary.GPS and Radio Do not Work all of the time: About a month ago the GPS and Stereo screen blanks out at start up of the car. Happens about 3 times a week, not every time. Meridian Stereo is Awful: The speakers that they use in this car are very poor quality. I keep the bass and subwoofer at -1 and only turn it up 1/2 way and the 2 back speakers have blown out completely. So bad I only listen to talk radio now (when the radio turns on and the screen is not frozen).Poor service at all dealers - There are 2 Range Rover/Land Rover dealers in my area. Both of which only have appointments 2 to 3 weeks out. Even after speaking with the service managers they do not have any appointments or loaners for me to use to diagnose and fix these issues for at least 2 to 3 weeks. I suspect that Range Rovers have so many issues that they just do not have the staff to support the demand.Other observations - Car inside uses very cheap plastic in the console and areas in the dashboard, for $55,000 car the interior should be top quality. SUV Convertible: This car is so rare that many people talk to you about it (mostly curiosity and many bad things, like why do you need this car, etc.) I learned to ignore all of this unwanted attention. That said, now I am paying a hefty monthly car payment for this 2017 Range Rover Evoque Convertible that has major issues and no resolution in sight. My advice is DO NOT buy a Range Rover and certainly do not buy the Evoque Range Rover convertible if you want a reliable, luxury and convertible that people will bother you about every day.

Land Rover offered me a coupe and a minivan. I was happier with the minivan as me and my family needed something nice to start the new year due to our old car breaking down. My wife and I love the appearance. I love the new doors, tints, motor engine, exhaust speed. Everything about this car screams bad. I also love the amount of space this vehicle offers. It is ridiculous but needed as I have a large family. It is a very useful car and will stay in our family lineage for a long time. We will continue to buy from the vehicle manufacturer also so that's very nice. I will probably buy one for my cousin on his birthday.

I bought a Range Rover Sport several months ago. 24 hours after my purchase while on a family trip, I started experiencing software issues. The radio, internet, several areas of the dashboard went blank and no Bluetooth connectivity. The answer was to do a software update at the dealership once I returned. The local dealership has been very nice and supportive applying these updates now monthly, but now we have given up. Since these updates would correct the problem for about 24 hours, it was not worth the time or effort. It is a product issue. My issues are now daily and extremely frustrating. The dealership helped me as much as they could and had to refer me to their Customer Support folks out of NJ. I hope you NEVER have to interact with the team out of NJ. The Range Rover team out of NJ are the worst support team that I have ever experienced. They denied further assisting me and basically stated by email that I need to wait for a new update to resolve my issue. There is no ETA on this issue being resolved. No call back to discuss this over the phone. I have multiple emails and calls into my rep. trying to further discuss my issues over the phone. I have been very patient and nice, but now I am done and now sharing this experience with others PRIOR to their purchase or support others out there with the same situation.

Land Rover Hinsdale worked on my car several times... Was guaranteed there will be no more problems with the rear differential. Less than a year later, it was leaking again. They took care of it but claimed I need a front wheel bearing... I wanted to confirm it had nothing to do with the rear Differential so did not authorize work until I can confirm it was truly a front wheel bearing... To my surprise they called claiming the car was fixed And I now owed $837.00. None of this work was authorized.... I was never able to confirm whether it was a front or rear wheel bearing or whether the rear differential was leaking. And that was why the rear bearing went out. Really makes me wonder... What were they hiding??? Why would they not let me confirm it was a front wheel bearing... was there a problem with my rear differential??? Was there a problem with my rear axle?? Did this cause problems to my rear wheel bearing?? I will never know!!! I was told by corporate Land Rover they've done all they can they are no longer going to pay for any repairs. They claim they done enough... They claim they paid enough... I wish I had this luxury!!!

Transmission replacement was declined while under warranty. I had taken my vehicle in for issues with the transmission. I brought these issues to the attention of the dealership while the vehicle was still under an extended warranty. They kept the vehicle for several weeks at a time and did not make any repairs to the transmission. My transmission continues to show signs of impending failure. I took the vehicle back in to have the issue addressed and they said that the transmission needed replacing; however, due to the extended warranty expiration, the repairs to the transmission will be at my expense. The service manager at Livermore Land Rover said that there are several notes in my service records that I had concerns with the transmission problems. I have sought an attorney. However, his suggestion is for me to take the consumer affair route first as he sees that the case is very simple. A preexisting condition is the responsibility of the car company to repair.

I have leased a Land Rover Evoque 2015 (new) - it has 92000 km and my lease is up Jan 2019. On July 14 the engine just stopped - I had it towed to a local mechanic. I wanted to make sure it was not just a battery issue (quick review) - I was told that the engine had experienced a catastrophic failure and caused the top of the engine block to blow off. I then had it towed to Metro West - where they just sat on the car for over two weeks- Always telling me that they are working on it with Land Rover. On July 27 I went into the dealer and demanded answers. The Service manager gave me a toll free number to Land Rover. I made the call and they had no record of my vehicle issue. It then takes Land Rover until Aug 03 - to tell me that if I went through them they would put in up to 3500.00 on repairs. They only want to replace with new engine (cost 18,000.00). Still they have not investigated why this happened. All service was performed, with the proper oil - there was no tell tail signs that there was an issue, the engine had the proper amount of oil. I have all records and photos of engine, plus a letter with a licensed mechanic opinion. On Aug 07 - I have towed my car from Metro West and brought it to my regular mechanic OK Hi Standard Tire. Through all this I have rented my own car - which I need to get myself prepared for a kidney transplant and work. I have asked Hi Standard tire to take all photos and see if we can determine what failed internally. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
