2026 BMW i4

The 2026 BMW i4 is a fully electric compact luxury vehicle that blends sport-oriented performance, everyday usability, and premium refinement in a four-door Gran Coupe form. As part of BMW’s growing electrified lineup, the i4 is positioned for drivers who want an electric vehicle (EV) that does not compromise on driving engagement, interior comfort, or modern technology. It offers an alternative for shoppers seeking a dynamic EV with a traditional car-like experience, distinct from SUVs or crossovers.

Design & Exterior Identity

The 2026 BMW i4 carries a sleek and purposeful design:

Gran Coupe silhouette: A low, coupe-like roofline with four doors blends practicality and sporting style.

Balanced proportions: The long hood, short overhangs, and wide stance communicate both stability and agility.

Modern BMW cues: BMW’s distinctive design language is expressed in refined body surfacing and attention to detail, creating a premium look suited to both everyday driving and executive environments.

Electric-specific elements: Subtle design features — such as smooth surfaces and aerodynamic enhancements — emphasize efficiency and modern EV identity without overwhelming the car’s elegant form.

The i4 projects a confident presence on the road, combining sophistication with sportiness in a compact electric package.

Electric Powertrain & Performance

At the heart of the 2026 i4 is its electric drivetrain:

Electric motors: The i4 uses electric motors that deliver instant torque and smooth, linear acceleration typical of electric vehicles.

Battery system: A high-capacity battery provides a practical driving range suitable for everyday commuting and longer trips.

Transmission: A single-speed, direct-drive setup characteristic of electric vehicles ensures seamless power delivery without the interruptions of gear changes.

Driving character: The electric powertrain provides strong acceleration from zero, with responsive throttle control supporting both relaxed cruising and dynamic driving.

The i4’s drivetrain focuses on efficient, refined power delivery with the responsiveness that many EV drivers expect.

Driving Dynamics & Handling

The 2026 i4 delivers driving dynamics that reflect BMW’s performance heritage:

Balanced handling: The battery’s low placement helps to lower the center of gravity, contributing to a planted feel through corners and stable behavior at speed.

Steering feedback: Precise and communicative steering enables confident responses in urban and open-road driving alike.

Ride comfort: Suspension tuning focuses on a blend of comfort and control, smoothing out everyday road imperfections while maintaining dynamic composure when pushed.

Regenerative braking: Adjustable regenerative braking lets drivers tailor deceleration and energy recovery to their preference.

Overall, the i4 feels agile and confident, providing a driving experience that remains engaging despite its electric focus.

Interior Comfort & Practicality

Inside, the 2026 BMW i4 combines modern design with everyday usability:

Seating comfort: Supportive seats provide comfort on both short and long drives, with available adjustments and optional features for enhanced luxury.

Quality materials: Premium upholstery and refined trim elements create an upscale cabin environment.

Layout and ergonomics: A driver-focused cockpit places controls and displays intuitively, helping maintain focus and ease of use.

Cargo space: The liftback design offers a practical cargo area with flexible load-carrying capability for everyday life.

The interior strikes a balance between premium feel and functional usability, appealing to both daily commuters and weekend travelers.

Technology & Connectivity

The i4’s tech suite supports modern expectations for connectivity and convenience:

Digital instrument display: A configurable digital cluster provides clear, real-time information on speed, battery status, range, and navigation.

Central infotainment: A responsive touchscreen integrates media, navigation, vehicle settings, and connectivity functions with intuitive menus and controls.

Smartphone integration: Wireless connectivity allows seamless access to calls, music, maps, and apps.

EV-specific feedback: Screens and menus provide energy usage, range estimation, and charging information to help manage electric driving efficiently.

Technology in the i4 is intuitive and enhances everyday usability without overwhelming the driver.

Safety & Driver Assistance

The 2026 BMW i4 includes a comprehensive suite of safety and driver assistance systems:

Adaptive cruise control: Helps maintain consistent speeds and safe following distances on highways.

Lane-keeping assist: Supports vehicle stability and lane position during sustained driving.

Automatic emergency braking: Adds a layer of mitigation in sudden traffic scenarios.

Blind-spot monitoring: Improves awareness during lane changes and in dense traffic.

Safety technologies are designed to enhance confidence on the road while retaining driving engagement.

Strengths of the 2026 BMW i4

Electric performance: Instant torque and smooth power delivery make for lively acceleration and confident passing.

Sporty handling: BMW’s tuning emphasizes dynamic balance and impressive cornering composure for an EV in this class.

Modern interior: Premium materials, intuitive technology, and practical layout support daily usability.

Practical range: Battery capacity and energy management provide a usable driving range for commuting and longer trips.

Advanced safety suite: Contemporary driver assistance features enhance confidence in varied driving situations.

Trade-offs & Considerations

Charging dependency: Long trips require access to reliable charging infrastructure; planning becomes part of extended travel.

Range variability: Actual electric range varies with speed, weather, and accessory usage.

Price point: Premium EV offerings like the i4 generally carry a higher initial cost than comparable internal-combustion models.

Cargo size vs SUVs: Despite a practical liftback design, cargo and rear seat space are more compact compared with larger electric SUVs.

Who the 2026 BMW i4 Is Best For

The 2026 BMW i4 is ideal for drivers who:

Want a premium electric vehicle with dynamic driving character.

Appreciate sport-oriented dynamics in an EV without sacrificing everyday comfort.

Value modern technology and connectivity in a refined cabin environment.

Need a practical range for commuting, errands, and occasional longer trips.

Prefer a vehicle that blends performance, usability, and electric efficiency.

Bottom Line

The 2026 BMW i4 delivers a balanced, engaging electric driving experience with an emphasis on performance, comfort, and modern technology. It showcases BMW’s ability to translate the brand’s driving dynamics into an EV format without losing the character that has defined the company’s sport sedans and coupes. For buyers seeking a luxury electric vehicle that feels lively behind the wheel while remaining refined and practical, the 2026 i4 stands out as a compelling and well-rounded choice in the growing EV landscape.

I have owned BMWs since 1994...a total of six. The last...and I mean last one is a 2008 BMW X5 4.8. I have spent thousands of dollars on repairs and the vehicle has only 80K miles. This is one shoddy vehicle. Never again.

X28i X1 - Car with 75000 mile completely shut off in middle of traffic with catastrophic engine failure due to timing chain. We were lucky we were not killed. Cost us $8000 to replace engine (we still owe on the vehicle loan to begin with). Drove the car once and now it needs a new battery and alternator. Piece of crap and BMW should step up and reimburse us for this repair as they know this problem exists.

I bought a 2009 BMW X5 4.8i V8 from my son-in-law who bought it new. The car had 37,000 miles on it when I bought it and now has 87,000 miles. Half of the mileage has been on 1000 mile trips. The car has been well maintained with all recommended services throughout the period. My wife and I are over 70 and do not drive the car aggressively. Here is my repair experience with this car. All but the first occurred after the 50,000 mile warranty expired: Air conditioner hose connection leaked refrigerant -- replaced hose. Headlight washer nozzle dropped off -- replaced nozzle. Plastic water overflow tank seam separated -- replaced tank. Vacuum pump leaked -- replaced vacuum pump. Oil leaked through several front engine seals and valve covers -- replaced seals. Burnt oil of 1 quart per thousand miles, through valve seals -- replaced valve seals. Vacuum leak through fuel pump activating engine/emission light -- replaced fuel pump. Total cost for these repairs was around $15,000 over 3 years. All of the repairs were done at BMW dealerships. (This, of course, was over and above normal maintenance like oil changes, adding oil, alignments, tires, brake pads, inspections, etc.) Fortunately, I had third party extended warranty coverage. The dealership mechanics told me these problems are common with BMW V8 engines. There are several reports on the web of these same problems. While BMW touts their engineering, they obviously dont engineer seals that lasts 100,000 miles. If you are considering a used BMW V8, count on $3,000 to $5,000 in repairs a year plus typical maintenance. By the way, I generally keep a car for 200,000 miles or more. The BMW is the priciest car I have owned. It also has had more repairs up to now than any of my other cars throughout their 200,000 mile life history. The car is a nice car to drive. However, given my experience, I cannot recommend a BMW. The problems I experienced had nothing to do with the the sophistication of the design. They were all basic part failures!

My BMW X5 diesel 2017 has 16000 miles and has died 2 times in the middle of the road. Abruptly stopped, almost hit twice in the side and rear end. I had a BMW 535 diesel and the same experience at 36,000+ miles. All 3 times, major fuel pump failures with no advanced warning. Stranded two times, 4 hour tow wait time! Uhg! Glad I had AAA towing as a backup!

I bought an 18 month old BMW 520d 2010 version on the basis of the fuel economy stats of 60+ mpg on the open road and 44 mpg in urban areas. I purchased the car from Vines Approved BMW dealer in Guildford, Surrey, UK. In practice, the car is only giving me 40 mpg on the open road and 25 in urban areas. I was given an as new warranty from the dealer and they have fully checked the car and they say that all the parts work fine, .etc but the practical answer is that they dont. A gap of 20mpg between advertised and actual performance is simply not close enough to be ignored. My legal question relates to the product description being completely misleading in their advertising and now they are hiding behind parts performance rather than the operating performance that they sell the car on. I have asked for them to either buy the car back or give me compensation based upon actual performance relative to that which is promised and they have rejected me. I would be most interested to know if others have had similar experience and whether I have legal grounds to pursue them.

Purchased a Certified Pre-Owned 2011 750i on 2-14-2015 from Principal Auto Group in San Antonio Texas. This has been a terrible experience. The car had bent rims and would never ride smoothly... they wanted me to pay for a thrust balancing, then they would blame the tires but my independent tire shop confirmed the tires were okay. The first time I had a major problem the car was in the shop for 12 days because they do not have a enough bays. Lesson learned: If you buy a CPO car insist on a new battery... battery dies about a year after purchase $600.00!!! Purchased a two year extended maintenance warranty (battery not covered) BUT unknown to me it was backdated to when the previous maintenance contract expired in 2014. Lesson learned: Read the fine print because why would any educated intelligent adult assume a two year maintenance contract would start the day you purchase it and expire two years later? The salesperson stated that the original bumper to bumper 4yr/50,000 mile warranty was still in effect because it was a 2011 with 47778 miles but when I kept trying to get resolution on the vibration I was told the original warranty had aged out because the original sale date was actually at the end of 2010. They should hold representatives of the company responsible for their statements. As many on here have stated I would expect more from a Luxury car company.

My 2007 325i floods on the rear seat floor. My 2002 528 did the same thing. This is a flaw that BMW needs to address. My 2007 325i battery died. BMW has it set up where one cannot buy an after market battery because they cannot be registered to the car, which prevents the car from realizing a new battery was installed and all of the warning lights flash on the dashboard.Im still searching for how the water is entering the car. I have looked at all drains, window seals and the padding in the door. I spent $350-plus to have my battery replaced and registered to the car.

Share my unfortunate experience with BMW quality! I bought a BMW X1 about 4 years 9 months ago. Troubles started just after bought it. This and that warning lights came up often. After about one year, the battery drains all the time, have to replace the whole electric and battery system. A few weeks ago, just about 9 months out of the warranty, I drove it to Utah for a vacation. When I drove back home, it broke down in a city with transmission malfunction warning on the way. I have to tow it to the city BMW service for repair. After spent more than $1200, I still cannot drive it back home. It needs to replace the transmission, costs more than $11000. Left me with no other options, I have to sell it to the BMW dealer cheap and rent a car back home! This car only has 47000 miles, the transmission is gone!

I purchased this BMW 330i vehicle used and while I got it for a great deal, Ive had issues with it ever since. First, the engine went out then had issues with the car stalling. Not so good luck with the vehicle. It dawned on me that the previous owners probably did not take care of the vehicle which is why it had so many issues. Nevertheless, the car does have good features such as heated seats. I also like how the battery is located in the back. The car is really good in bad weather conditions such as snow and ice. I also like how there is a computerized screen which has various options on it for service and radio. Still, I would definitely fix some of the maintenance features of the vehicle and make it so that any mechanic can fix the issue without needing a code from the BMW dealer. I would also change it or have it so that when there is an electrical failure, there is a way to override using the windows and unlocking and locking the doors. With those main issues fixed I would enjoy the vehicle so much more.

I bought a BMW 530e 2019. Car drives fine. However, mileage is suppose to be 68MPGe. I get 48 MPG, and thats with using the battery to the fullest, driving only Econ Mode, and keeping most of my trips less than 16 miles. Ive received 2 recalls on the car already... Also, called local dealerships (Norwood, MA) for a scheduled oil change and to handle the recalls. I cant get into to the dealership till about 3 weeks later with a loaner. If I had a cheaper: Toyota, Honda, Nissan, that definitely is not the case. Those dealers can accommodate in a few days. Ive found you dont get better service or technology with a BMW, you get a brand name only with nothing behind it. Never buying another BMW. Had a Mercedes before, their service was much better.

Today he was told he needs a new transmission for $4,800 and he is just at 40,000 miles and three months out of warranty. The dealer said they could not help since it was out of time not miles on the warranty. He never drove it hard, just drove to work and around town, still has same tires. Is there anything he can do? I have had a love affair with BMW since the mid 1990s, however Im sorry to say that relationship is on the rocks. Having had 3 brand new BMW cars and one new BMW motorcycle I can now say that BMW quality is no longer a corporate mandate, just a slogan. What was once (with proper care) a vehicle that you could rely on, be proud of and enjoy has become the brand of what next. I say this as my X3 sits in a service bay to replace the drivers side mirror which fell off! $1300 To replace something not broken not damaged but the latest in a long line part failures that was preceded by a motorcycle that I literally had to throw away. WHAT? Yes a 2003 R1200C with less than 12000 miles stored in my hanger that in 2014 turned into junk because of cheap manufacturing processes, poor quality wiring and metal plating that literally fell off. Sound familiar, among exterior body reflectors and interior parts that have fallen off or delaminated on the X3 the one that has convinced me is the drivers door handle that is slowly turning into black goop and when I showed it to the service writer he said and I quote On the earlier models you had to replace the entire door panel.... As I said in the beginning not worth the money, because you are paying for quality that is no longer there.

I purchased a used 2009 BMW X5 with 9,000 miles two months ago from Coggin
I purchased a used 2009 BMW X5 with 9,000 miles two months ago from Coggin BMW in Fort Pierce, FL. Within a few weeks, there was a very strong fuel smell in and around the vehicle. Upon calling the dealership for the 3rd time, we were able to get an appointment 4 days later to have the vehicle looked at. The issue was a fuel leak around the fuel pump flange and melted plastic around the fuel pump electrical wire. This is a very dangerous situation that could have resulted in deadly consequences.I am very disappointed by the lack of urgency on the part of Coggin BMW to resolve this dangerous situation. Most of all, I am appalled at the fact that BMW North America would produce and sell a vehicle that would have this life threatening issue by 9,000 miles. I find it very disturbing that the issue is brushed aside unless there is a fire or catastrophic explosion due to the negligent manner in which BMW made this vehicle. I believe that I am not the only one who expects a company of BMWs stature to be free from serious problems like this, especially with a fairly new automobile. The dealership fixed the fuel leak and melted electrical wire issue but I am not confident that I am safe in this vehicle. I was not told why this problem happened and not sure if and when I will have another serious malfunction that could result in serious consequences. I do not feel safe in the vehicle and I have no confidence that BMW can provide a reliable, safe product. I also dont have confidence in the dealer network to provide a reliable and safe vehicle for me to drive.

Endless problems, high parts cost, Arrogant dealership! - I realize fully that my opinion(s) are not exactly the same as some out there who are chiming in with comments about more recent models purchased, new or used from BMW dealerships, but I thought I would give my two cents because of my shock that these cars are absolutely not built with the same quality of a Mercedes or of Chevrolet (at least when it comes to their Corvette products). Recently, I purchased a 1999 BMW 328i Convertible with 116,000 miles on it. I did so believing that BMW had superior quality and engineering. The car is so cosmetically perfect as to indicate that it had been well taken care of, and the Carfax was in order, too. The engine overall runs fine, although Ive already gone through two steering pumps because BMWs are apparently prone to having steering pump clogging issues with their steering pump filters, also, my air conditioning does not work properly due to a common BMW problem called the fan regulator switch. Realizing fully that there would be things that needed fixing on any car with such high mileage, I never in my life have heard of some of the ridiculous things that are wrong with this car nor have I ever experienced the sticker shock with regard to finding/purchasing parts in order to patch this thing back together (i.e. a new cup holder, which usually can only be ordered directly from BMW because there are no used ones on the market due to the fact that they are made so cheaply is $60.00 at the local arrogant dealership. A coin holder which is usually broken but which has to be replaced in order to complete the restoration of the center console is $30.00 and looks like nothing more than a small piece of thin plastic with cheap springs inside). The airbag light that is on is not due to something specifically wrong with one of the airbags, but rather has to do with the seat belt tensioner, a typically BMW, overkill, goofy part and/or mechanism, which requires a full replacement of the seat belt latching mechanism on the passenger side, $550.00 for the part from BMW, $150.00 if Im lucky to find a used one on eBay that actually works. And the service advisor at the local dealership here in Kansas City just kind of laughed, like theyve done about most things. When I asked for an estimate to have it installed, saying, Its hard to say how much it would cost, we dont do much work on the ‘older’ cars.” When I asked about the drivers seat, of which the power gears have locked up and no longer work, he simply flat out said We really dont do work like that on the ‘older cars’, and recommended one of two or three local boutique-type foreign car garages around town.” The same went for my convertible top, always with a good little arrogant laugh. I inquired about an oil change, and after another arrogant little chuckle, and checking with several other mechanics and service advisors, was told it would probably be about $100.00. This after Ive spent a good $1,000.00+ at their dealership on parts which Ive installed myself. Ive owned several sports cars in my life, most of which were purchased used, including 5 Corvettes, and two Mercedes-Benz SLs (one of the Mercedes had over 160,000 miles on it when purchased; the other over 80,000 miles). All were far superior cars to this ultimate driving machine, with far fewer problems of any kind on them. I cannot believe the shoddy quality of everything on this car. The plastic on almost every plastic part is cheap and cracks; electrical problems are now starting to crop up with my entire left tail light mechanism failing to operate now (never have I experienced a whole bank of tail lights failing on any car Ive ever owned, foreign or domestic). I realized I was going to have to replace the top because it was worn out; however, parts of the top that are necessary to complete the top rebuild are astronomical in price, with small plastic pieces and one foot of elastic cord costing $80.00 wholesale; one piece, available only from BMW, that is held in place with the stupidest design I ever saw of having one central screw in the center of the windshield, cost $283.00 and is so flimsy that its a wonder that it wont need replacing once a year. The top doesnt work correctly and there is no guarantee that it ever will. Ive seen 30 year old Chevrolets with tops that are not this intricate, cheap, nor prone to problems that still work beautifully. Just today, most of my tail lights and all of my interior lights stopped working! This car looks like it was well taken care of, but it must have all been to no avail. I now understand why a used BMW is only worth about 30% of what a used Mercedes is valued at. I did not sign on to being a Beemer owner thinking that I was buying something with as many problems as a 50 year old Jaguar or MG. I was thinking the quality would be more like a Mercedes and as for the arrogant preamble to this site, which says: “High-performance cars require lots and lots of very expensive routine maintenance. Also theyre notorious for being afflicted with all kinds of exotic problems. If youre really into cars, understand them and are willing to lavish time, money and attention on one, the BMW may be for you. If youre looking to raise your self-esteem by buying something really expensive, we recommend real estate.”Thats **! Furthermore, the arrogance of the people who work at the local dealership, including at the parts counter is unbelievable. They almost want to argue with you about what part you need. If they cant find it immediately, they get cranky and claim it doesnt exist, that that was a part that BMW didnt put on the car, or some other crazy excuse. Then, when you finally bring them a part number, they apologize and tell you its $500.00. A Corvette and Mercedes SLs are high performance cars, and I do understand cars, and BMWs are pieces of crap! Just my two cents, but I will never purchase a BMW, new or used ever again!

I bought 2013 BMW 328i xDrive in Sterling, VA. My car has 74k miles on it. This car brand new is about 40k. Total repair cost so far: - At 47k miles - transfer case cover failed. - Cost to repair - $7,500. - At 73k miles - Head display unit, where you see navigation & radio etc, froze and failed. - Cost to repair - $2,200. - At 73k miles - Engine valve cover gasket started leaking oil and the Sterling BMW told me that it is at 8 on a scale of 10 to leak fire and catch fire. - Cost to repair - $1,000. TOTAL COST OF REPAIRS SO FAR - CLOSE TO $11,000 = CLOSE TO 25% OF NEW CAR PURCHASE PRICE.I have in my life never ever seen 25% repair costs in first 75k miles on any car I have driven. Highly disappointed and speechless. Thought this was a high end, high quality German built car. I called Sterling dealer, they said they acknowledge the repair price tag and agree that BMW North America should do something about it. So call BMW North America. They said I should have bought extended warranty - Ha!

Total bill: over $5300. First, they had my car for close to six weeks. I had a problem with the computer, 4-wheel drive sensor, maintenance for 65000 miles, and key switch install. Second, I asked for the oil to be changed and 65000 mile tune-up. When I got it back my computer said that it had not been changed and it was a quart low. Third, I have dents and scratches on the car that did not exist prior. Fourth, the steering wheel now makes an annoying sound when you turn the wheel. Fifth, the heat knob on the dash was broken. It did not exist prior. Sixth, they turned off the ability to update the system through the i-drive. Seventh, the 4-wheel drive sensor still comes on.Eight, I was charged hours of research--shouldnt they already be a BMW expert? Ninth, they lied and said I could be not reached was the cause of the delay(s). Tenth, I asked for the used parts they supposedly changed and they said they were not available. We didnt think youd want them. Im thinking of filing suit, but dont know an attorney or group that would help. Any suggestions would be helpful even if you tell me Im wasting my time. After receiving a recall letter from BMW for the brake vacuum pump (recall campaign no. 10v-446), I took the car to Crevier BMW but was told they didnt have the part. I never heard back from Crevier BMW, and I forgot about it until the brakes completely failed without warning. I had the car towed to the nearest dealer in Irvine. They replaced the vacuum supply line but not the vacuum pump. They recommended that I replace the leaking vacuum pump at my cost of over $900. The description of the problem included in the recall letter from BMW specifically indicates that the leak from the vacuum pump into the vacuum hose is the root of the problem. I spoke to Jody ** at BMW and she said that the recall is a federal mandate and this mandate only requires them to replace the line and not the pump.I have owned BMW cars for more than 12 years, you would think they would stand behind their product and keep a loyal customer happy. They truly do not care about the customer. They will only take care of the problem if the car is leased and/or under warranty, and even then, theyll put off the work until the car is out of warranty.I have had a new 750Li since 2006. From the beginning, the engine oil light would come on and I would have to take the car in to be topped off. I kept asking why I had to do this so often and they assured me that it was normal for the 750. I had a new 745 before this car and I never had this problem. I didnt worry about it since there was no sign of a leak on my garage floor. Now that the car is out of warranty, they tell me that there is a leak.

For the past 10 months I have been unsuccessful in getting BMW North America to pay a rebate. If this was the first time I would accept this as just bad luck - however in ALL cases that I have applied for rebates the same BMW policy/process has been adopted to reject a rebate claim regardless if all documents have been submitted correctly. BMW should not offer rebates if the intent is not to pay the rebate or they make it so difficult that the average person just gives up as the rebate value does not warrant the effort.I have received excellent (amazing) service from Darian BMW for the past 7 years, however BMWs corporate policy regarding automatic rejection of rebates is an unethical business practice and is going to drive customers like myself to support competing manufacturer like Discovery who honor their programs and pay rebates promptly. I have applied for 3 rebates in the past 6 years from BMW, with only one rebate been paid after many months of continues arguments and re-submissions.Rebate 1: After months of following up I was informed that the first rebate was received by BMW but the voucher needed to be submitted by myself as the program had ended. BMW North America informed me that it is the customers responsibility to retain advertising documents as proof of rebate. As I did not retain a copy of the advertising documents, and was unable to get a copy from BMW the claim was rejected and not paid.Rebate 2: I submitted a rebate claim with advertising documents and BMW invoice. As with rebate 1 the application was in the system and been processed, however after 3 months of continues follow-up I was informed that the application was rejected as not all of the paperwork was received (even though BMW had confirmed previously that documents had been received and payment was been processed). In this case I had proof of submission and that all paperwork was provided.BMW apologized and said they would process, however 2 months later I followed up to query why I did not receive the rebate. BMW informed me that they are unable to process the rebate as they have no record of the rebate program. Having learnt from the first rebate I retained all documents. I resubmitted (3 times) the paperwork with a copy of the rebate advertising documents etc. BMW once again apologized and finally processed the rebate. Total process time over 8 months with numerous calls, emails and re-submissions.Rebate 3: Rebate 3 was submitted with Rebate 2 (same time) as the work was completed at the same time. BMW received all paperwork but in this case BMW North America forgot to process this rebate with rebate 2. BMW apologized and at first agreed to honor the rebate. After 9 months of continues follow-up BMW North America have informed me that they do not have the money to pay this rebate and that payment will need to be processed from BMW Germany? BMW North America acknowledge receipt of all the paperwork including the advertising documents. Today (02/07/2017) I receive a call from BMW North America notifying me that I am refusing to submit the paperwork and therefore BMW are unable to process the rebate???

IM lucky to be alive. What first began as a smell of fuel inside the car escalated to a strong smell of gas. After looking at the undercarriage of the vehicle, I discovered fuel leaking down the drivers side gas tank inches away from the hot exhaust. Tracking where the leak was coming from, I removed the passenger rear seat and discovered that the fuel pump plastic housing developed cracks all around, causing the fuel to escape below the passenger seat down the gas tank. The vehicle operates fine and there are no dash lights indicating that there are any failures of fuel. However, it seems the fuel has broken down the plastic housing of the fuel pump over time, resulting in an enormous loss of fuel when the vehicle is running. I am very glad I discovered this issue, which I believe is an enormous safety issue and consider myself lucky that I didnt catch on fire on my last drive. I will follow-up with BMWs hotline because I am certain there are other drivers that own the E90 series that may be having the same issue and hope NHTSA can put this on their bulletin and open an investigation on the serious issue. As far as BMW Coggin in Fort Pierce, FL, Richard ** politely kicked me out and told me he had an appointment with a doctor and did not even hear my issue out.

I purchased a BMW 228i from a authorized BMW dealer and right after one year with 12000 miles on it the original Pirelli tires on the car split from the sidewall. I know for sure that I didnt hit the curb or anything and the car is always garaged. When I spoke with BMW they said they cant do anything about it and you need to contact dealer. So I contact my deal and he said since you didnt purchased any tire warranty with us we cant do any thing and you need to pay $400 to replace the tire. Since it was important I went ahead and spend $400 for just one tire. Now its a month passed and the exactly same thing happened on another tire and this time I again contacted BMW asking if there is any manufacturing defect with the tire or wheels. They opened the case and asked me that we will take 3 days to revert back with the case. Its already 1 week passed and they never bother to revert back to me on whats going on with the case. Couple of days back I called customer service and they said its being assigned to the service manager Matt ** in BMW and if you want you can call at his extension otherwise he will revert back to you. I called at his extension 3 times. Left a voice message but they just dont bother to at least call me back and tell me we are working on it. It feels like they just dont care about they customers, not sure if they are working in the office or not. THE MOST PATHETIC customer service from such a big company. Now that not over, this time I went to discount tires for this tire issue and they said if you are at tread count lower than 2/32 (which is 8/32 since the new tires are at 10/32) since you purchase the new car which and if it is a run flat tires Pirelli (Original tires from BMW) will replace it for free and if the tread count is lower than that (8/32) it will calculated as pro rated basis. They called Pirelli themselves and give me after pro rated calculation. They gave me $100 back and also replaced it with new tires. Now when this happened to my another tire neither BMW or their authorized dealer (Ralph ** BMW), that you will get the pro rated amount back. It felt like Ive been cheated by BMW and their authorized dealer.

I have a 2004 BWM X5 4.4, sticker price of just under $66K in 2004 dollars. In August 2014 I installed a BMW trailer hitch so I could tow my travel trailer. I ordered the wiring harness for the lights at that time. They had been on BO nationally and in Germany for months at that point. Today Im told by BMWNA customer relations that BMW will no longer be providing that part for the older X5s. Im SOL.Its past their mandatory 10 federal regulation, so if you dont like it buy a new model to tow anything with. I currently own: 1999 BMW M Coupe, 2004 BMW X5, 2005 BMW K 1200LT. Previous: 2007 BMW K1200GT, 2002 BMW K1200RS, 2009 BMW R1200GS, 1995 BMW 318, 2004 BMW 750. Do you think I will buy another one? Is this any way to treat customers? Is a 10 Year old $66K vehicle really disposable? Shame on BMW for their practices and policies. Anyone else interested in filing a class action lawsuit?

2007 BMW 550i transmission - People, if you having a rough shifting on your BMW, dont take it back to the dealer or no it is not your software. I ran into this problem with my BMW, I try everything, but checking the transmission fluids. AS you know BMW dont have dipstick and the computer is not going to tell you if you need to add the transmission fluid. The transmission have a shifting lever that go inside the transmission, over time it will go bad and that cause the transmission fluid to leak people dont realize that. So change the sleeve to keep it from leaking and add new fluid and you good to go and that how I fixed my transmission problem.

The controller key isnt working it has to be always near the antenna in order to work. The controller key loses connection easily. When im in a hurry the doors just wont open, it would take about a minute to open the doors and get in the car. When driving, the controller key says it is not near, and the car notifies me that it will turn off. It distracts me from driving, even once I was turned over because traffic police thought I was talking on the phone!

I love the fact that it has an interior motion sensor and tilt sensor, you’ll know if anyone ever tries to jack your wheels. I love that this car has manual mode and sports program for performance driving. My car has been a very reliable car, still runs just as good as the day I bought it.

While headed to vacation from New Jersey to Canada, our BMW 328i xDrive beg
While headed to vacation from New Jersey to Canada, our BMW 328i xDrive began to experience a tapping sound from the engine and shortly thereafter, the check engine light lit up, at which point we used the BMW Assist feature for advice and to locate the nearest BMW Dealer. Explaining our situation to the BMW Representative, we asked for the nearest BMW dealer. Unfortunately they were over a hundred miles away, but the BMW representative informed us that we could continue to drive the vehicle with the service engine light on indefinitely as long as it wasnt red or flashing. We thanked her and proceeded on our journey. A couple of hours later, the tapping turned into a knocking sound and we again used the BMW Assist feature who located a dealer in Rochester, NY. She proceeded to place a 3-way call and remained in the background to listen. We were informed from the dealer that they could not get us in, but he reiterated that we could continue to drive the vehicle with the service engine light on indefinitely as long as it wasnt red or flashing. We continued into Canada, checked into a hotel, and parked the car for the night, searching the internet to locate the closest dealer which turned out to be Performance BMW in St. Catherines Ontario. We brought the car to Performance BMW in St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada in the hopes that they could have a look to diagnose the problem.Tanya ** was very understanding and sympathetic to our situation and she got our car right into a bay for diagnosis. We sat patiently for almost 2 hours until we were informed that it is taking longer to figure out the problem, and that BMW uses Enterprise Rental rather than loaner BMWs and we were put into a Hyundai Sonata, which is NOWHERE near a comparable vehicle to what I have purchased. After returning to the dealer to get the remainder of our luggage, Tanya informed us that as soon as they have a diagnosis, they would contact us.We returned to the dealer the following day hoping to get the car, and continue our vacation to New Hampshire, when we were informed that the main bearing of the crankshaft was the problem, and that the parts have to be ordered from Germany, which would take anywhere from 3-6 weeks plus the time needed to put everything back together. We were advised that Performance BMW could only cover the rental for the end of the day (second day) and that we would have to cover the remaining rental time, and then submit our expenses as part of the trip interruption clause, but there is no guarantee that it will be reimbursed. We have made several attempts to contact BMW North America. All we have been told is that until we have our vehicle back & submit our expenses, BMW North America will take the expenses under consideration for reimbursement. This is unacceptable.BMW of Mt. Laurel (purchasing dealer), indicated that if we had brought our car there for repairs, we would have received a loaner car until our vehicle was complete; and Performance BMW indicated that if we had purchased the vehicle in Canada, and brought it there for repairs, we would have received a loaner car until our vehicle was complete; but since a foreign dealer is working on a foreign car, neither dealer wants to cover the cost of the BMW loaner vehicle that we are entitled to let alone figure how to get it back to us.Once the car has been repaired and everything is in working order, we now have a new problem. We already took our vacation, now we have to take time off work to get our vehicle that failed. In addition, we now have a new car that had to have its engine rebuilt with less than 30,000 miles...not only will it affect our comfort level in this vehicle (do we take it on a trip, will it break down, what will it cost, etc.) but now we feel that this will affect the trade-in value of the car. I have spoken w/ several service advisers and sales personnel all said that this engine issue is not at all common, and the work will not affect the value of the car. However, I do not believe that is an accurate statement. There has to be something that can/will be done by BMW to correct this issue. At this point, I feel that BMW should replace the vehicle w/ a comparable BMW. If your resolve of this matter is not to our satisfaction, we will have no other choice but to leave the BMW and purchase a better quality luxury vehicle.

E46 BMW M3 - I am having nightmares with my M3, SMG gear box. The fault icon came on. I took the car to a BMW dealership. They kept it for 2 weeks, said the clutch was contaminated and that air was in the hydraulic system. It was fixed at a cost of 3800+. I collected the car, and it broke down the same evening, with the same complaint after driving about 20 miles. A call was placed to the dealership, who informed me that I would have to get it back to their garage on my own, as they do not do recovery. I had just spent 3800+ with this dealership. I got the car there and they said that they found air in the hydraulic system. It was bled, road tested and returned after 3 days. The M3 broke down again (and is presently at the dealership), after driving 3000 miles, with the same problem with the SMG box. The dealership is saying that its the same symptom, but different problem. They are now saying that its the hydraulic pump. I am now facing an additional bill of 2800. My questions are: 1. Whats the life span of an M3 hydraulic pump? 2. Is there an inherent fault with the BMW M3 SMG gear box? 3. Have others experience the same problems with BMW SMG boxes? 4. Is it true, that BMW only guarantee a life span of 12 yrs for the M3?5. How can I make a claim against BMW for selling a defect ultimate machine?

I placed a new vehicle order for a BMW X5 in September 2014, at BMW Monrovia, CA. BMW North America (NA) changed the delivery date several times. I had no confidence in them but my sales guy kept telling me different stories why they had to put off the delivery. I finally got my vehicle in November 2014. BMW NA then said they would give me a goodwill check ($1,028) for late delivery.I started to have a nightmare for this check. After two months I did not see the check, I went to ask my sale guy at the dealership. He later told me BMW NA sent a $500 check to my previous address. (My sales guy made a mistake by giving BMW NA that address as I had not lived there for two years). He said he had contacted BMW NA several times to ask for the check. It appears no one there was taking care of this matter. After hard pursuit, I finally had my check delivered to me in May 2015. That is six months later after they made their promise. I had to chase after my sales guy who was lazy by not advising me timely what was going on with this matter. The experience was horrible. There was no such thing called customer service with BMW NA. It is shame you have to keep chasing after them closely for more than six months to do their work. It is a shame with BMW NA.

I purchased my 2013 BMW 328i in 2015. The car has about 46.000 miles on it, and it is just out of warranty. The check engine light went on. I took it to Stevens Creek BMW for repair. After they did the diagnosis, they texted me I need new NVLD pump. I confirmed with them that it is $546 including parts and labor. However, when I came to pick up the car, they charged me $761.89. They told me the additional $215.89 was diagnosis fee. I was wondering why the dealer charge diagnosis fee. Isnt that diagnosis part of the repair procedure. I paid the full amount anyway.I took my car and went on the freeway for couple miles. The check engine light came back on again. I assumed that they didnt test drive after the repair. I ended up to take my car back to the dealer the next day. They did another diagnosis and found a different problem. It was fuel tank venting valve. This time the problem seems fixed. I think I shouldnt pay for the diagnosis fee because I let them repair in same dealership. They didnt told me there were diagnosis fee prior to my authorization of repair. Second, I paid $190 for the fault repair pump which the fuel tank venting valve shouldnt cost that much. My suggestion is that you want to make sure what is total amount you have to pay... Watch out for any hidden cost.

2007 BMW M6 - The fastest lemon on earth: I bought a used 2007 BMW M6 with 20,500 miles in January 2012 from Dave Walter BMW of Akron, Ohio. I drove from Detroit to pick the car up. Upon driving home to stop for gas (This car averages 10 mpg of premium, for your information.), my father noticed the BMW emblem was gone on the front. Needless to say, driving off the lot without a BMW emblem they blew off was very irritating, to say the least. But the dealership was surprised and said they will mail me one to put on. (By that, I mean I had to have a dealership put another one on because I broke the tiny plastic trying to squeeze it on the holes on my first attempt.) Prior to me receiving the new emblem was day two where while driving, a warning light came on that said passenger restraint warning. Now, I was very pissed. And just as this had happened while driving, the screen just went blank and would not turn on for the navigation or iDrive system. Now, the dealer was confused and said, We will see if we can get a dealer closer to you to handle this. Well, after a few days, they called saying I will need to bring it back to them in Akron, Ohio. I am now really pissed. Its winter, so I just tell them when the weather breaks, Ill get it to them. About a month later, I have a friend in Toledo drive the car back to them which results in no M6 for 2 weeks. They fix it, I get my car back. One day, thats right one day, after I got it back, the light returned! Great Job repairing that! So, I now just tell them to send a transport to my house and pick this pig up. Im not adding more miles and gas money, because you didnt fix it the first time. They agreed.Another few weeks passed, and I got the car back. Wouldnt you know it, they left me with 1/10th of a tank, despite promising to have it cleaned and full (I had over half a tank before they took it.). So I think Ok, the worst is over, right? Wrong! While driving home in July, the car literally died while driving and a light stated increased battery discharge. And my screen died, and I could not change gears! I got home, and now, I am not even on speaking terms with the dealership as I have been so pissed about how they handle everything. I had to jump the car (New battery was installed when I bought the car.) and drive it around to try to recharge it. This worked temporarily, and the light cleared. 3 days after the power dying issue, lo and behold! The passenger restraint light is back to its usually warning position. I have now made up my mind to sell this car asap as I fear the worst. 6 days after this and one day after putting it up for sale, driving home from work, theres a warning engine malfunction (reduced power). Thats right, its now 500 horses. I honestly was scared. Oh, and I forgot the trunk wouldnt open. You had to use a key, and the center consoles locking mechanism made it where you couldnt open the center console. I have since traded this car in, but I want it to be known that this story is 100% true and actually longer and more depressing. But this was my shorthand version of this POS. Dave Walter BMW of Akron, Ohio. It should be shut down! They do not deserve any business, and I assure you they did nothing to try to help me out in any way. Do not ever buy a BMW. Dont even take one, if its given to you, because the repair costs will break your bank account!

In July 2011, I sent an email to the BMW dealer in Cairo complaining about my BMW 525i Chassis Number: CS28301. My BMW was bought in 2007, and only has 120,000 km, but I am already having problems with the radiator and water pump. It is quite frustrating and disappointing on my part because I expected my BMW to last longer. I had the impression that it is built out of high quality materials, and it will never go fault that fast. I have other basic cars; Verna, Tarcel and Vectra, the same age as the BMW and maybe even older with higher mileage (300,000 KM), but they are still in good shape and has not malfunctioned unlike my BMW.My email was promptly answered, and I was told that I have to shoulder the expenses for the repair because my vehicle is already out of warranty since December 17, 2008. I had a BMW AG warranty policy, which was two years unlimited mileage. Mr. Hassan ** apologized for the inconvenience caused, and the time I spent dealing with my car problem. However, he said that the vehicle and their parts, regardless of how well made or maintained, do not have an infinite life span, and eventually replacement costs must be borne by the customer. He added that based on the vehicle age and mileage, they cannot consider the fault as a manufacturing defect.I relied that I will repair the car; I will sell it, and buy a Mercedes or Japanese car. I told them that BMW will lose its customer because its an expensive car, but not a durable car. Finally, I said that I will not recommend BMW to anyone I know.Copies of the emails are available for inspection.

There are so many issues reported for this vehicle (BMW 745), they have become essentially worthless, so my issue is not with any particular problem as most have been stated already. My issue is that when is BMW going to be held accountable for not doing their own issued TSBs when the vehicle was in for service and still under warranty. Okay so now I will state a particular problem (like we need another). COLD CLIMATE CONDITIONS TSB S.I. B11 01 07 October 2007. In a nutshell it states that in cold weather conditions, the crank case ventilation valve may freeze causing a leaking oil filler cap, leaking or broken valve covers to complete engine failure. What does BMW mean by extremely cold climate conditions, by reviewing forums etc. where the problems have been reported. This extreme cold area appears to be anywhere that it might snow! Being located in central Alberta, Canada is now apparently the equivalent to being in the arctic circle, then again so it would appear for locations as far south as Michigan. One must wonder where the BMW engineers developed the car, my guess Germany, but alas it would appear that Germany must have been unseasonably warm during the testing of this engine. How this is not a mandated recall is beyond my comprehension. But wait it gets even worse! So the valve gaskets start to leak in fall of 2013, I take it in for the repair and the work is performed, but leak persists, then it is discovered that the BMW dealer here in Edmonton supplied, standard valve cover gaskets, not the gaskets referred to in the TSB issued in 2007. Being Edmonton, why would they even supply any gaskets, that were not cold weather approved. Its just not an issue with the 7 series as it also exists in the 6 and 5 series. When it comes to the X5 AWD, where does BMW think their North American customer base is... California? I am the original owner and the car has all off 114,000 Kilometers on it. Does BMW make a good car... no, do they care... no, would I ever buy another ....no. Would I recommend anyone buy one... no. Hopefully this complaint will be read by people doing research prior to purchase and they can avoid the incredible frustration of being a BMW owner.

Re: 2007X3. Many times since, approximately the vehicle had 60K miles, prior to my 100k miles warranty running out, even though I was experiencing problems with my transmission (i.e. not shifting properly, clunking when shifting, noise and jerking when shifting), the Service Dept. told me there was nothing wrong. Now that I have 120k miles on it and my X3 will not go into AWD, I am told by Erhard that my transmission differential needs a $1,400 repair. I have never missed maintenance and at the last maintenance, I was complaining about my transmission.I would like my transmission problem fixed at no cost to me. It seems BMW, blew me off to get me through until my warranty was up (extended to 100k that I paid for). Very disappointing and too costly for me. My wife and I both own BMWs and will be going to a different make vehicle because of the deceitful treatment I have received. Something should be done about BMWs lack of responsibility when it comes to taking care of warranty issues.

I have a 2007 BMW 335i that I bought from a BMW dealer. The car is a CPO car. I have had a constant problem with the car burning oil. It uses about a quart of oil every 750 miles. I took the car into the dealer when I realized that there was indeed a problem. Their course of action was to do an oil study. What that meant was that I had to take it back to the dealer every time that the oil warning indicator went off, and that they would verify that the car had a problem. After many trips and quite a few hours sitting at The BMW Dealer, they did verify that the car was indeed using a lot of oil.On two occasions they kept the car for a few days to check it out. They said that they could find anything wrong with the car. I contacted BMW North America on their website, and they came back, telling me that 750 miles per quart was normal. Since then my CPO warranty has gone out, and I am stuck with this problem. On the plus side, the car is a lot of fun to drive. This has been a bad experience for me. I have had the car in the shop once since then. More problems, amounting to a $1,000.00 repair bill for what should have been minor things. I will never buy another BMW and cannot recommend them to anyone else. I also have a Lexus - five years old and ZERO problems. I would love to hear from anyone else that has had oil issues.

(I was told when I called that it was the hot weather that was affecting the camera operation). I am so disappointed in this car vis a vis the monthly car payment I keep making.

Yesterday afternoon 4pm my car X5 2018 suddenly stop at middle of highway. I’m so nervous and scare. It was so dangerous. I was two boys still small, my boys nervous and cry make my feelings more panic. I dunno what to do. So I use my car call out road assistance for help. But they said my car no under registers???? My dealer ignore me. She said, I cant do anything. You have to call customer service yourself. This is the service from BMW. I bought this car at auto Bavaria Glenmarie with Adrienne (**). She ask me handle myself. Omg???? This is nightmare for me in my life and nobody help. I call toll free number. A Malay girl Zurah ask so much question is not related. Is this important? I looked up all of these reviews to decide what to do about my 2011 BMW Coupe. I previously owned a 2007 328xi sedan. When the 6 years of warranty ran out, I had expenses of over $1000 frequently. I traded it in on a 2011 Coupe, with warranty. I almost have 50,000 miles on this car and I will definitely spend $2000.00 to get the next warranty. Then I will sell the car or trade it in. I love my BMWs. They are fun to drive and MY dealers have been great. The first was DeSimone BMW in Mt. Laurel, NJ, the current one is in Atlantic City, NJ. I always get a loaner car. The staff is polite and they answer my every need. As long as the car is under warranty, it is all good. It is so sad for me to read the horror stories on this site. I thought I was getting ripped off buying my 2011, it seems not. I wish the best for all of you. These are expensive cars, and for me they are worth it for the service and atmosphere, AND driving.

I purchased a 2013 328xi for my wife in June 2016. It came with 18 alloy wheels and brand-new Pirelli run-flat tires. After a few months, the rear passenger tire kept losing air. I took it in for inspection 8/23/17 and was told it was due to a cracked wheel. My wife never hit anything with that wheel that would cause such severe damage. The service rep said that she probably hit a pothole and that the run-flats dont provide enough cushion to protect the wheel. In other words, its a defect in the wheel/tire assembly (borne out by a class-action suit settled by BMW for cracked wheels on the Z4 in 2015). The solution offered by the service agent was to replace the wheel and tire for $1,035. I asked if BMW would take back the run-flats (with only 5700 miles) and replace with conventional tires so I wouldnt risk another wheel crack from a pothole. The answer was no.So I paid for a new wheel (discounted 50% by BMWNA after filing a complaint) and took the car to Discount Tire and bought 4 new Conti Extremes in trade for the run-flats at $30 each. Cost me $758. They inspected the right rear tire and saw no evidence of damage. There was also no evidence of impact to the wheel - just the hairline crack. BMW of San Diego could have done the right thing by replacing the defective wheel at no charge (the car is still under warranty), but instead tried to fleece me for the full cost of a new wheel and a tire that wasnt damaged. In fairness, the service manager, William **, made a good-faith effort to make this right. But the dealership and BMW didnt care. BTW, the car actually handles much better with the Continental Extreme Contacts, and the ride is much more comfortable. We just have to pray that she wont get a flat, because there aint no spare.

I keep getting a warning sign on my BMW 1 Series, which reads Drive train, continue to drive slowly. This has been happening at regular intervals and I have been taking it to the dealership called Club Motors Randburg, in which case they have not been able to fix it. The query is now at the hands of BMW SA and I am not getting any joy as I am disgruntled and pained by the way I have been treated by BMW. I have now requested for the dealership I bought the car from to take their car back and organize me another deal. The dealership is telling me that they can only trade in the car and I will have a shortfall of R100,000, which is extremely unfair from BMW as I got this problematic car in April 2012. Ever since I bought the car, it has been problems after problems. I regret the day I decided to buy a BMW ever in my life. That was the worst decision I have ever taken in my life. I have had the worst experience in my life. If this is the way BMW treats its customers, then they do not deserve the status they claim to give to their client - which is sheer driving pleasure. I am deeply disgusted and I feel ridiculed by BMW. While all I wanted was to have a great German machine, instead I found myself the biggest lifetime liability. My wish is for BMW to deliver the promise they give to the customers, which is a world class product and great customer experience. I would like BMW to contact me urgently as I am faced with a problem. The dealership is now forcing me to bring back the loan car that they have lent me as they feel that I must take my scrap car and it is not their problem, but mine.

I own a BMW X3 in the Philippines that is 5 years old, has been owned by me from new, always serviced by BMW and has 30k km on the clock. Recently the warning lights went on and it made a loud engine noise. BMW checked it over and told me that the transfer case needed replacement and that it would cost 200,000 pesos (USD 4,500). I checked on the internet about the transfer case and discovered that this was a common fault, that actually related to a plastic gear in the actuator. It seemed that the plastic gear problem was so common that a replacement was made and sold on Amazon.com. I bought the plastic gear for USD 50 and replaced the obviously worn gear in the actuator, perfect solution, no further problem. I tried to contact BMW in Munich because it seemed that BMW Philippines were being less than customer oriented. I assumed that BMW would be upset at such a bizarre situation. I was continuously referred back to Singapore, the regional headquarters, who constantly referred me back to Autozentrum, the Philippine agent. I finally got a letter from BMW in Singapore who told me it was their policy to only replace units, not parts in units. I tried to explain that this seemed to be disingenuous as the actuator gear was clearly a poor design and that charging USD 4,500 when a USD 50 part was obviously the solution, was penalizing a good customer and seemed to be short sighted. They sent me a curt note saying their policy was clear. My only advice is to buy a Hyundai, Honda, Subaru, Jeep, anything, but never a BMW.

I have had my 2011 528I since 09-02-11. Its a great car. BMW advertises that the only thing you have to pay for is tires and gas. I complained about the $1900 NAV system, and that it was not very user friendly, and that my $200 Magellan was a much better device. I had gone to the dealer, asking for a software upgrade, as the device had trouble finding known businesses that I attempted to locate as a test of the system. I was told that it would cost me $400 for an upgrade (which they recommend 4 times a year). I can buy 2 Magellans with free lifetime upgrades for that price. When I complained to BMW USA, they told me they had no control over local dealers, and they could charge any price they wanted. So much for the Tires & Gas.

BMW has had my vehicle for over a month now for repairs. The car is less than 4 years old and has less than 35,000 miles on it. I bought the car brand new. This is not the first time my car has been in the shop. There have been numerous other occasions prior to this time. I am emailing to express my dissatisfaction with the whole matter involving my vehicle. I am very distressed at the fact that it has taken this long for BMW to diagnose the problem with my car. I have stated before to BMW North America, I have reason to believe I was sold a lemon. I was also forced to buy a battery recently (receipt of 11/2/13 for amount of $898.68) to what I believe was an original defect with the vehicle. To say that I have been not only depressed but suffering mental anguish and frustration is an understatement. I am not pleased with BMW. I have strongly suggested some other recourse in this matter but I still get the run around. Please help me!!!!

I have a 2004 BMW 530i that was paid off. My daughter came home from work and parked it on the driveway and 2 hours after the trunk of the car caught on fire. The fire marshal said it was due the battery and the red wire in the trunk. I did not have comprehensive or collision insurance so the insurance company did not pay so I call BMW to let them know and I found out that there was other BMW that was in fire because the same issue. BMW took the car to evaluate the fire and then they came back and tell me the they are not responsible and offer 5k toward a certified or new BMW. I said I was not able to buy a new BMW at this point and BMW said we cannot help now. Im left without a car but I found out that BMW had a million car recall because that issue and the NBC news have other news on that issue as well but at the end nothing was done from BMW. I advise anyone with a 2004 to 2010 BMW 5 or 3 series get the car checked and file a complaint with anyone who listen thank you. At the end my car was totaled.

Bought a pre certified 2012 X5 BMW with 32,700 miles. At about 35,000 miles noted a jerky acceleration while in the 3,000-4,000 rpm range in standard or sport mode. Took to dealer and they could not get a code to fix or diagnose. Was given vehicle back to continue driving while they looked for help from a district service lead tech. During the time to wait for reply it became more violent in moderate acceleration. There are no sounds associated with this issue, just not a smooth acceleration. Once throttle is no longer calling for medium to hard response the jerking stops and all is normal. Note rpm and shifting are all normal during this jerking. Vehicle was scheduled to go back to address jerking when engine went into safe mode one week before follow up. It was diagnosed at 42,300 miles electric water pump failed. They replaced water pump (under warranty). As to the jerking issue tech was told to remove drive shaft to validate either drive shaft issue or transfer case issue. Once shaft was removed jerking stopped. I did not have any prior vibration so they determined it to be the transfer case. They replaced it with new one (under warranty) and it immediately stopped jerking during medium to hard acceleration. My concern is that with this low mileage and reading several BMW owners with similar issues that this is a major flaw that needs addressing beyond the standard warranty. I was lucky in that mine was diagnosed before the 50,000 mile original warranty expired. I have owned 3 prior BMWs from 2002-2008. I put high mileage on them at 250,000 miles plus so I know them well as to what wears out and when. None prior have had these issues so early in mileage. BMW dealer was excellent in taking care of me (Gault BMW). My concern is going forward into the 100,000 plus range with these parts already failing. BMW you have some issues to address!

I recently bought a used 2011 BMW X6 with 42K miles. The vehicle was owned by a friend of mine and she was the original owner. The X6 was serviced by BMW dealer and at recommended intervals. After two weeks, the car wont start and had it towed to an independent shop. The diagnosed was the VVT motor and DME unit (Digital Motor Electronic) were bad and total replacement for parts and labor comes to $4,700. The mechanic informed me that he has seen this issue many times and normally happens at 90-100K miles and not 42K miles. The mechanic said I should call BMW of North America to see if they would reimburse the cost. BMW refused stating the car no longer under warranty. IMO, BMW products are crapped and expensive to repair and I will never buy their cars and let people know not to buy their cars since they dont stand behind their products. Their cars are overpriced and a piece of junk.

The vehicle was taken to the showroom and the same was attended by the technicians on 12th Feb. On the 13th, while traveling the same sound was heard and this time it was louder. The vehicle was taken to the showroom again on 14th Feb, but I was informed by the staff that as the technicians were not available, the complaint cannot be attended to. The AC cooling effect was very less. Its highly disappointing to notice the callous attitude from the staff and just within days after purchasing a brand new car. On 17 December 2015, my wife brought our 2011 BMW X5 to Elite BMW in Ottawa
On 17 December 2015, my wife brought our 2011 BMW X5 to Elite BMW in Ottawa due to low coolant light appearing on the cluster. The dealership conducted almost two-hour diagnosis and determined that our vehicle requires a new water pump, thermostat and some oil gasket. The job should have been finished at the end of the day and my wife was waiting a phone call to pick up the vehicle. My wife did not receive the phone call and now it was 18 December 2015, 2 PM. My wife called to the dealership querying the vehicle. She was put on hold and then the dealership promised to call her back. My wife did not hear anything and then she called over one hour later again, now the dealership admitted that there has been a problem with our vehicle. In the process of repairs (i.e replacing water pump, thermostat and engine oil gasket and oil), the technician during is test drive (at least the dealership report states) had seized the engine. The technician had completed the work and replaced the engine oil (as they say) and was in process conducting the road test when the engine seized. Now the dealer is denying their responsibility and is suggesting us to buy replacement engine? How generous, they are even helping us to find cheaper used engine? Dont we have laws in Canada? This should not be even a question, i.e. you broke it, you bought it. Elite BMW is now working with BMW Canada and in preliminary discussion, BMW agrees to cover off 60% of the cost and the rest is collected from the customer based on the general manager, as the dealership is trying to wash their responsibility of the accident. The whole accident is tarnishing the BMW brand. The way situation is handled is less than it is expected of the brand. This is cheap shot and poor representation of the brand and is turning off customers and investors from the brand. Mierins Automotive Group, especially Elite BMW is keeping their promise: creating a dealership experience like no other. The truth does not lie in words rather than actions. Indeed BMW military appreciation program is to sell smiling in front of you and stab you on the back - thank you BMW Canada and Mierins Automotive Group! We provided the complaint letter to the service manager (Isabelle), basically stating that you broke it, you bought it. The BMW Canada agrees to cover off 60% of the cost of the engine rebuild and the dealership and the general manager and the service manager deny their role to the cause of the damage. The general manager offered the engine rebuild for approx 15,000 CAD, which we have doubts as the technicians failed the water pump replacement. In a discussion with the senior technician, he mentioned that the dealership have difficulties to find and retain technologically incline technicians as BMWs are challenging vehicles to maintain and repair. We as consumers should have rights and laws protecting us. When a vehicle is left to the dealerships care, it should be returned minimum at the same condition it was left there. We are a military family and protecting this country and its citizens and this is the thank you for the service from its citizens as return.

We are in the market for a newer 3 series BMW sedan. Our current 2002 325i has 240k miles. I have been a faithful BMW owner since 1970. But after the problems with our 2002 325i engine I am not sure about BMWs in our future. Last April we on a road trip to visit our son in Asheville, NC with the intention of purchasing a 3 series BMW. Our experience at BMW of Asheville was not impressive. We found a car during a web search of BMW of Asheville website. We were greeted at the door, offered a drink of water and introduced to sales specialist. The car apparently had some theft and paint damage while at the dealership. So the car was in the paint shop. But after an hour we were getting annoyed having not seen or Sat in a car. Then I noticed our sales specialist jumping in the air with a key fob I assume trying to locate the car. With Millions of dollars in inventory it would seem simple, to note on the inventory number where it is located and status. The dealership giving us excuses just lowered our confidence in the dealership. In the future I hope customers find a different experience than we had. Still needing a newer car we are looking at a 2007 328i. But after reading the reviews posted here. I am seriously questioning what I am about to do. Can I just on faith that it will turn out okay. Or will the insensitivity of corporate wear me out!

I have a 2020 BMW M4 Convertible. My vehicle has 8,000 miles on it and the brakes are warped and shuttering. My horrible BMW dealership (HENDRICKS BMW CHARLESTON) wont cover it because there is a white paper out on it. They said since I dont beat the car up, this will happen to the brakes. I gave them 3 weeks and still no call back, so I called them and found out they will not cover either. If you know how thick the rotors are on an M4, its hard to believe that they are warped after 8,000 miles. This to me is a definitely defect. Bottom line is BMW is not service oriented anymore. What is really funny is I was just in the process of purchasing an X7 for my wife, and immediately cancelled the order. There are plenty of other car manufacturers out there without dealing with this. I will NEVER buy a BMW again. As a side note. BMW was going to charge me 2100 to resurface rotors and replace brake pads. Just terrible when a company that used to be great is worse than Chevrolet. I quit buying Lexus for a 10 year period because of horrible customer service, and how they dealt with me at the end of a lease. BMW is a horrible company for folks that like blowing their money for nothing. I have owned 6 BMWs and this truly is the end of my relationship. They truly arent doing the right thing and Im certainly not going to have a business relationship with a company that doesnt do the right thing or backup their products and looks for ways to get out of support. I bought this in April 2008 with 18,000 on it, as a 40 mile each way commuter, and with the Corbin seat and BMW bags already on it. I love it right from the start. It has massive torque, gobs of acceleration and is fast enough for me (I haven't had it flat out, but I've had an indicated 120 mph out of it without trying hard). I found it a little too buzzy for comfort around 4500 rpm. The Manic Salamander bar end weights (18.5 ounces instead of the stock 9.5 ounces) completely cured that. I found it very windy over 70 mph; Parabellum windshield, adjusted as high as it can go cured that. My other add-ons were for personal preference, not necessity. The bike is as reliable as a stone, comfortable all day, a joy to drive and magic through the twisties. At first I felt like I wasn't getting much feedback from the front suspension, then I realized it just was not having any problems, so there was nothing for it to tell me. It just goes around bends on any surface at any speed I've asked of it without fuss.

The brand new BMW 335i N55F30 was purchased in April 2012, registered on May 4, 2012 has been handed over to BMW RAK service due to vibrations and some kind of noise from the front on 15/05/2012. The car has done only 3,000 Km. After inspection and balancing the wheels at RAK, the serviced car was returned to me with 80 gram weight on the front right side on 17/05/2012 (80 grams weight on an alloy wheel is too much even for any standards). After driving for a few kilometers, noise and vibration was noticed again and the same was reported immediately to the service supervisor Mr. **. The car was returned back to RAK service station on 19/05/2012 morning. On 20/05/2012, the car has been sent to Sharjah service station for further investigations. This car is still with Sharjah, UAE service station and they were unable to figure out the issue! This is a new car and such bad quality product from BMW is not acceptable to me. I need to know how I can get full refund! I do not need a new car as I am not sure about the new 335i. Repeated email and phone calls to BMW have no result. The sales executive who has sold the car to me also made it clear that he is helpless! What is happening with all the quality that is being boosted by BMW? Please, someone help with your suggestion on how to go about this issue. Thanks in advance.

I have had my BMW for 3 years and it was time to turn in my lease. Autovin had come to my house and inspected the car - they reported no problems at all to me. Called BMW FS to confirm that everything was fine a few days later and was informed that everything was good to go and I could turn in the car. I return the car a few days later to BMW Freehold & that evening I called BMW FS to inform them I dropped off the car and that I had fulfilled all responsibility on my end including paying for mileage overages. At that time, the representative advised I had to pay $300 for a tire that was 3 on the tread since they allow 4 and above. This was complete news to me & I called spoke to manager Asha ** who was the least bit helpful and all she could say was, Sorry, we cannot do anything else. I spoke to another supervisor Erin ** who also had no authority to make any changes & said this is how it is. It would have been nice to been informed of any wear on the tire as I could have replaced it myself and saved $200. I am about to get a new BMW in two weeks but definitely will not get that anymore. Word to the wise - DO NOT LEASE FROM BMW, they will screw you at the end and wont tell you about it until later when you are helpless.

My new vehicle is the worst experience I ever had. Wind noise creates so much distraction while driving that I feel safety issues are questionable. While driving I cannot focus on the road because the only thing I can hear is wind noise. I took vehicle to dealership twice, and third time they refused to take it in. They said that all of them are like that. I made a mistake to trade in my 2007 328i, which never made any noises. BMW needs to supply complimentary helmets with every new sold vehicle because that appears to be only cure. I tried turning my radio volume up, and still I can hear it. But another thing that worries me is that I have constant headache from the volume. Does anyone experience the same issues? I have called the manufacturer, and they are not concerned at all.

My new 750 Li X has been at the Bayside BMW dealer for 1 month. I have also contacted customer service at BMW USA . They havent fixed the car, the dealer lies and misrepresents the work orders. The company is run like a fraud. Also, BMW USA tell you the same lies . When I went today to pick up the car, the manager refused to test drive the auto so I could see if it worked, the staff is nasty and when I decided not to take the car until they assured me it was repaired. I got back into the loaner car, at which time, one of the staff banged on back of the car as I was backing up. That staff person then claimed that I ran into him. The police were contacted and the man who said I hit him decided to fake he was hurt. An ambulance was called and off he went to a hospital. The whole thing is one big scam to cover up that the central computer on these cars malfunction. These are expensive autos and they should not be sold in the US until someone looks into all of the complaints. You cant make this stuff up, but BMW should be held accountable for punitive damages.

I purchased a 2011 BMW 550i xDrive from International Autos Group. I must say I love the car and am very happy with the purchase. The issue I have is with BMWs failure to honor the contract that was signed. The contract states the CPO warranty with a deductible of Not Applicable, yet BMW is charging $50 for every service. It took weeks for BMW North America to render a decision, and I think they knew it was the wrong decision, but nevertheless they told me to pound salt. The rep was very rude during our last call. It is my understanding that International Autos Group in Milwaukee, Wisconsin ultimately denied the request to honor the contract. I caution against working with this dealership. Have had much better BMW dealership experiences elsewhere.

My 2017 330e has less than 6000 miles and broke down while I was out of state on vacation. Needless to say it ruined my vacation having to spend my time dealing with BMW and leaving it in CA while I had to rent a car to get back to NV. 2 weeks in the shop and no loaner car given. BMW offers a reunite program but only 250 miles or under warranty repairs. I call BS! They want to charge me the difference in mileage for the return of my vehicle which is $250. For the amount of money I pay to have this luxury vehicle they can’t get it back to me? I had to get a rental car to get home, now I have to buy a plane ticket to go get it and drive it back? No one will help me and I can’t even get through to customer service. I will never purchase another BMW again. I’m going back to Toyota. They treat you a whole lot better.

I am leasing a 2017 BMW 330i BMW. I really like my BMW car. On Sunday July the 30th my daughter and her daughter three month old baby girl were in the back seat in my BMW. My daughter ask if I would stop her Wendys at 3041 Headland Dr. When my daughter got out of the car to go into Wendys her daughter was asleep. I was sitting in the first seat on my phone. After about two minutes later I heard my granddaughter crying. I opened my door to get out and to get in the back seat with my three month old granddaughter. I shut the drivers door and went to open the back door and it was locked and went back to open the drivers door which I had just got out of and it was locked also. I checked all doors and they were all locked. I was devastated. My three month granddaughter was lock in the car and crying. I could not understand this at all because my keys to the car was still in the car and the car was still running. I was so upset, I ran into Wendys to tell my daughter and to ask for help. All this time my three month old granddaughter was in the car still crying really bad. My daughter and about six other people ran out of Wendys to my car to help. Because all doors were locked a young lady had to break the back window on the BMW for us to get the door open to get my granddaughter. We got my granddaughter out ok but she did have broken glass all over her from the young lady breaking the window. Your BMW Lover.

I am the first owner of A 2008 528i. Just installed my 3rd transmission into my beemer, its hilarious such German build? First one out at 45000 miles about over 5 years ago, then the warranty just outdated and go through back and forward negotiated with the dealer. Finally they paid for the transmission and I paid $1800 for the Labor charge... And 2 weeks ago its out again and this time I had 139200 miles on it, which mean about 5 years again, so just have the rebuild one puts on for a few days, and runs good so far, other than transmission problems, everything are fine. I love this car, just dont understand why cant they good one like Japanese... Haha!

I had a 2006 330i replaced all window regulators at $285.00 per window, replaced cly head assy. Steering angle sensor. Traded that P.O.S. In to BMW dealer for a 2010 X3. I have replaced all 4 window regulators and both rear regulators broke again today 9/19/2018 (no recall???). On this car, steering angle sensor for 4x4 light and brake light on $326.00. On airbag light came on took car to Roseville BMW for recall repair of passenger seat mat on 5/31/2018 they ordered part and said will call me when it comes in, and no one can sit in passenger seat until repaired, well, today is 9/19/2018 and they have not called me that the part is in yet!!! My 2006 X5 all 4 window regulators, steering angle sensor, oil dip stick tube, 1 door handle carrier assy, front driveline rubber joint, center support bearing assy, r/r airbag, L/Front drive shaft, (this is going out again), fuel sender w/ Pump, has blue smoke at idle, needs valve guide seals replaced at a cost of $10,000.00 to $12,000.00. I just read that BMW built aircraft engines. Thank god they stopped or planes would be dropping from the sky left and right. BMW is not the ultimate driving machine. They are the ultimate money sucking machine!!! I had a 1988 Buick Regal and never had to replace window regulators. So if you buy one of these P.O.S. I hope you have a healthy savings account. You will need it. BMW USA does not take care of their customers. I would never buy one again!!! BMW are the biggest junk cars ever built. I hope this helps people who are looking for an (ultimate money sucking machine!!!).

Im leasing a 2017 230i xDrive Convertible. In one year and 12K miles, Ive already had to replace 3 run flat tires at a cost of $400-$500. Now I know why I was offered insurance at the time of my lease, which I didnt take. Ive never needed it before. No one explained the issues with these tires. Now I find myself either having to make a one time payment of $1,300 for the insurance for the remainder of my lease; put regular tires on the car but run the risk of damaging the transfer case ($4-5K repair) or continuing replacing tires every time I hit a pothole. This is my Ultimate Driving Experience; NOT!!! Horrific experience; never again; a total disappointment.

BMW Financial is irresponsible and incompetent in managing consumer accounts. I had an account with BMW and made payments through Moneygram over a period of four months. Moneygram was not informed BMW was no longer using their services, even though each payment appeared to be received by BMW Financial. My car broke down. I took it to the dealer and it was repossessed for non payment, even though I had receipts indicating payments had been made. As a result, I was stranded in another state with a child. And they wouldnt accept the payments, even though cash was offered to immediately cover the payments they purportedly didnt receive. I will never buy another BMW or deal with their financial services, which appear to be managed by over zealous teens. They have no future other than pretending to have authority over people who drive cars they otherwise probably couldnt afford.

I own a 2007 335i, which I purchased from BMW dealer, and always had it serviced by a BMW dealer. Around 35,000 miles I began having repeated problems with oil leaks, the service engine light would constantly come on and the engine wasnt performing properly. I was told that the codes just needed to be reset and that the problems were fixed. A few days later the check service engine light came on again. I went back to the dealership and was told it was the code for the fuel pump plausibility and all they had to do was to reset it with the software and it would be fine.A week later the same thing happened. This time around I asked them to take a look at the issue. I once again was told that the problem was fixed and that the codes just needed to be reset. The check engine light would come on regularly and I was always told the same thing - that it was due to the software update but the car had no issues.I took my car in to the dealership right before 50,000 miles and before the warranty expired to have an oil change and at that time I was told that the car had an oil leak and the fuel pump had to be replaced. They replaced it and reset the codes once again. I explained the car was not driving properly, as it would jolt and it wouldnt accelerate. The service rep said he would check on that and make the necessary repairs. I left the dealership and on my way home the service engine light came on once again. I went back to the dealership and was told they needed to reset the codes again.A few months later, I noticed the car was leaking oil and the engine was not running properly. The service engine light was also back on. I took it to the dealership and was told it was the fuel pump, and there was a problem with the turbochargers and engine. I was told it would not be covered under the warranty as the warranty had just expired. I had them do them complete the repairs as it was necessary. In less than 24 months, Ive had to have the fuel pump and oil gaskets replaced three times. The car went into limp mode as I was driving on a busy intersection and just turned off in the middle of traffic, putting my life as well as other drivers lives in danger. I was struck from behind by a van because the driver didnt anticipate me just stopping without warning. This a huge safety issue and BMW needs to be held accountable for withholding this information from customers. I had to have my car towed to the dealership and they refuse to warranty the defective items.I called BMW North America and spoke Leah in Customer Affairs and she informed me that it was up to the dealership if they wanted to apply the warranty or not. She said it is not up to the corporate office to make those decisions. I also demanded a copy of all my service maintenance records from the BMW dealership where I had the car serviced and they refused to provide them to me.I asked to speak to a supervisor and was transferred to Ross at BMW corporate office. I told him I wanted a copy of all my maintenance records from the SM BMW dealership emailed to me, as I couldnt go there in person but needed to the records to show proof that I had the fuel pump repaired numerous times. He told me he called over to the dealership and requested the records but they refused to email them to me and proceeded to say that they dont have to give me those records.I was beyond appalled that I would be treated that way, after all I had been through given they sold me a product with a manufacturers defect. I explained that the dealership was charging me over $5,500 for the fuel pump and oil gasket repair, yet I had already paid over $8,000 to have it repaired numerous times. The dealership refused to warranty the defective items. I am beyond disgusted with their lies, fraudulent practices and their sheer incompetence. Ive decided to retain legal counsel at this point.

I bought a 2006 BMW 750i CPO. I bought the car with only 39000 miles on it. I have 67000 miles now. I was told the car had 6 years and 100000 miles of warranty on it. When I called about another problem with the car, was told the cars warranty had elapsed. I told them the car was warrantied until 2012. The dealer told me the car was bought in 2005 even though it is a 2006 model and that it had expired. I informed them that the sales person told me the car was warrantied until 2012 and not 2011. They will not honor any warranties. Since purchasing the car, I have been in the shop for Thermostat problem, lighting problem, fluid leak problem from transmission and coolant, steering column problem, etc. I called the dealer and National BMW and nobody will help me. The transmission now has a warning light. If I replace transmission it will cost $5k to $7K.

I am not fully sure why BMW thinks they can get away with having faulty engines in over 500K cars for a seven year period but theyre doing it. Now they want me to pay $4600 to fix something they knew was broken? That is utterly ridiculous. How is it that these major car companies can have recall after recall and not be reprimanded or mandated by law to sit a few months or years? Or even have quarterly inspections regarding the quality theyre producing... I was almost killed in a car accident by a semi-truck when my engine stalled on the highway from 70 to 30 mph in under 2 seconds. All I can recall is hearing the screeching of the truck as it fishtailed behind me, not to rear end me. However, I must pay for it? Wow. As a veteran who served over 20+ years, that is a difficult pill to swallow. Whats even worse is how BMW treats you after that.

I have had to take the car in several time because of the oil leak and I was told by the 2 separate dealership that they cant find an oil leak. I took my car to a certified BMW mechanic and he informed me that there is a known oil leak with BMW 750li NG3 engine but BMW refuse to fix or change the engine. I got up this morning and wrote a letter of complaint and when I was looking for the Customer Complaint information for BMW I found this website. I went through and read all the posted complaints and I see I am not the only owner who is having oil leak and my air conditioner going out.It seem to be a big problem with BMWs and I am very disappointed but I refuse to drive a car that smokes, leaking oil and the air conditioner not cooling properly. I work for a major transportation company and I am going to be sure I let everyone I work with know the problems I am having with the so call Ultimate Driving Machine. Sounds like I bought a Lemon so if we are going for action lawsuit count me in. I agree that the 750li should considered a LEMON.

I chose BMW S3 because, although roomy enough for my family of five, it still feels more sporty than mini SUV. I love the sunroof, the leather seats, and other features that make it feel like a true luxury vehicle with great engineering. However, I dont like that maintenance and repair can be very costly. Also, the ride is a little jarring, and not as smooth as I would like. Nevertheless, I have really enjoyed driving my car. The control, and, road handling are amazing. The pick up is phenomenal, the steering is clean and tight, the ease and power of driving it make even boring tasks desirable. Its a great driving experience.

We purchased a 2005 BMW X3 in 2007 to be my wifes car. It had 22,000 miles, not bad. While its styled nicely, also with ample room for an SUV and it handles nicely, it has been a mechanical nightmare. Its our first BMW and I assumed it would be reliable and be of high quality. WRONG. It was OK for a couple years of use, up to 35,000 miles, but since then, its been one expensive repair after another. Things that SHOULDNT break in a relatively low-mileage automobile. First, it was the liftshocks that raise the back tailgate. It would drop down on your head if you didnt keep one hand holding up while unloading groceries, etc. I was able to do that repair myself with new shocks. Next, it was the back passenger window mechanism in which a plastic piece along the ridebar broke. No one was messing with the window. There was no abuse, just my wife lowering the window to bring in air. Of course, the plastic piece is part of a whole motorized ridebar/lift assembly and in order to fix (only a dealer has the parts, btw) cost $575! Ridiculous. Next, a cracked intake manifold, along with several other parts (faulty PCV valve, breather hose, vent valve) that required replacement. Cost: $1,500! This last October, it was a leaky oil pan and oil filter housing, $450! Finally, about six months ago, four lights appeared on the dashboard, AWD, brakes, I forget the other two. Well, theyre all related to the same thing: a small motor beneath the drivers side undercarriage that distributes torque to the four tires independently, thus AWD. Great concept, BUT NOT IF THE GEARS INSIDE THE MOTOR WEAR OUT which is exactly what happened. The car had about 51,000 miles when this occurred. The motor is inside a housing about the size of a football. The motor cost $1,800, plus $1,200 labor, grand total of $3,000! The labor is high because numerous things have to be removed under the car to get at, and replace, the AWD motor. Well, we have to wait to get this last fixed, but I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER BMW AGAIN, EVER!! I could understand one fluke, one faulty part, but this has become an awful financial burden for us. My Toyota, on the other hand, has 74,000 miles and never a problem! Only basic maintenance: oil, tires, brakes... So you figure it out, which is the better vehicle?

I purchased a BMW 5 series, new, on July 10, 2010. The car is 1 1/2 years old. It has been in the service center of Vista BMW, which is where I purchased it from, more than I have driven it. First of all, when I purchased the vehicle I was not informed I had run-flat tires on the car, nor was I offered a replacement warranty option. Naturally I did not think I had run flat tires on the vehicle since there is a full size spare tire in the trunk, which cars with run flat tires on it typically do not have. Then of course I have had multiple problems with the tires and the computer that registers the pressure in the tires. I brought my car to Vista BMW service several times and they kept resetting the computer system so the tire pressure did not register low pressure, never telling me I had problems with my tires. After the pressure light came on for the 10th time, I brought the car to an independent tire dealership, they put the car on a lift and showed me the tires. The front tire had a nail in it and that was why it was losing tire pressure and both rear tires had the steel belts sticking out of them and thats why the tire pressure indicator kept coming on. Yet I had brought the car to Vista BMW on many different occasions and never once did they inform me of the problems with the tires.Leaving me in a dangerous situation everyday, driving this vehicle. I ended up replacing the tires with regular tires after having the car for 1 year at my own expense. The other major problem I have had since I purchased the car, is the constant internal squeaking of the car, which sounds like all the doors are loose from the inside. The squeaking is so loud you can hear it over the radio. Again, I have brought my car into Vista BMW service and they claim the seal on the doors needed teflon tape to stop the squeaking. They proceeded with the repair and the noise was gone for a couple of months. The noise returned and I returned to Vista BMW service. I was then told 2 different solutions by 2 different service advisers. One adviser said the seals of the doors needed to be replaced, the other said no, that they were going to tape it again because that was what the manufacturer suggested, which is what they did, placed tape again. The noise was gone only to return a couple of months later. I believe I went back again another time for the same problem. I have to review my service tickets. I just brought the car in again to Vista BMW service on January 26, 2012 because the doors were squeaking again and I was having other problems which have still not been fixed ; (replaced windshield wipers, which dont clean the windshield and are extremely noisy, asked to have wiper fluid put in at service appointment, they put in plain water, interior vanity light out, still not replaced, and on curves a yellow light on my dash board which is a circle with a triangle in the middle flashes, I have brought the car in for this several times and it still has not been fixed).I spoke directly to the service manager at Vista BMW, Don ** and he reviewed my complaints, which he assured me would be taken care of. I have not heard from anyone since the car was dropped off on the 26th. Today is January 28, I called Vista BMW service today and asked for the service manager and was told he would call me back. A valet from Vista BMW called me back and started reading off my ticket of what was addressed, yet had no knowledge of me or what has been happening with my car. The service manager assured me on when I dropped the car off that the door seals would be replaced, not taped again. I asked the valet again to please have the service manager call me back about my car.Mr. Don called me back today and told me they taped up the doors again. I began telling Mr. Don what he had told me, that the door seals would be replaced as well explaining all the unresolved problems I have had with the car. He expressed that he did me a favor by getting involved in this particular situation and that he test drove my car and the squeaking noise was gone. I expressed to him again that he assured me that the seals would be replaced and not taped. His response was, “Fine, we will replace the seals but I can not promise the squeaking noise will not happen again on the interior of the car.”I expressed to him the car is 1 1/2 years old and still under warranty and this should not be the case. Mr. Dons response was, “Well, thats the way it is and there is nothing you can do about it. We will not replace your car and you are in no position to declare Lemon Law on your car since you have 30,000 miles on the car.” I told him I never mentioned Lemon Law and wanted my car fixed once and for all. When I asked him about the other problems I brought my car in about, his response was, “I did not read your service ticket so I dont know.”I am beyond frustrated, I have never had a new car in service as much as my BMW, I have also never had such poor service from a car dealership. This is my first BMW and will be my last. I had several Honda cars, new, and never had a problem with these cars or the service and I spent half the price on the car. Is it too much to ask to have your car fixed properly? Or that a new vehicle not have a multitude of problems?

I still owe $10,000 on it, and it will cost over $3,000 for repair, to have the transmission rebuilt. If they really took care of my car up to 100,000, why is it that 47,000 later, the transmission broke. Unacceptable for a BMW. The car I had prior was a VW, and was still running well at 287k. I cant afford to have it fixed. I am now without a car, and very upset.

My car was delivered with the engine light on. I subsequently had it taken back to BMW in Monsey, NY using my miles (over 100 there and back) only to have the light go back on, over the course of the lease. The tires, it appears arent strong enough for the weight of the car. I would get a flat often or bubbles on the tire, not to mention I felt everything on the road. My issue is mostly with roadside assistance. It would have been better not to have it as an option. I would never have gone with a BMW to start with, but more importantly I would not have been stuck for hours waiting for a promised tow truck -- that never showed up. On 3 occasions during my lease term of 39 months I needed roadside service. The first 2 times, they didnt have anyone and the third time, after waiting 90 minutes I was told the TOW TRUCK broke down. I have a very big disappointment with the way your services are rendered with regards to availability of Parts. Anyone who purchases BMW expects no harassment and quick service from your company’s end. However this is my second instance that my car is hold in your service center for at least 25 days due to non-availability of part that is as common as a headlight.Last time car in service center was due to a manufacturing fault. Even this time if I have to wait for similar timeline for headlight replacement I don’t see any customer satisfaction or value for the amount spent. Point been please fix my car in a weeks’ time. If done so I will be very much obliged.Car was purchased from dealer- INFINITY CARS PVT LTD. When it was taken we were never warned about these shortfalls in your service center otherwise I would have never purchased your car and especially a new model. Also I will like to share my experience which is quite an unsatisfied one to not purchase any new model launched by BMW for at least 2 years till service centers start stocking at least the most popular parts.

Between replacing wheels and tires the electrical problems are mounting up. Now I hear clunking from the transmission. I have had injectors replaced two times, fuel pump two times, rear tail lights, one front headlight and I wish I could only tell you about the gremlins with the seat belt, turning the wheel and having the phone call someone. Having the roof not open and close properly. You wouldnt believe.

The car is fun to drive, very fast but it could be temperamental when it comes to repairs. I had some earlier repairs but now that I have almost 100K miles things have settled down and hopefully only basic maintenance should hold me over. The car is 9 years old hope to keep it another 18 months.

I have X5 and I have problems with the car since I bought it brand new. Its been in and out of the shop for so many things gone wrong. What kind of company is this! My Honda was one of the best vehicles I had and the services were much better. Would never buy a BMW again.

I bought a 2003 Dinan 525i used with ~60K on it. In the last 7 years Ive logged another 180K+ on it. While I have had to do repairs (I work on it myself) it is nothing out of the ordinary; tires, brakes, coolant system rebuild (pump, radiator, fan clutch, overflow tank and pulleys/belt), alternator, O2 sensors, vanos seals and intake rubber ducting, all gearbox fluids changed. It is all to be expected for a car of this age. I have no complaints as the car has served me well. Some interior trim has broken or weathered and has been replaced, and the sunroof tracks will get replaced this summer. I am getting it detailed to celebrate its 250K milestone. This car owes me nothing! It has served me well and I have no indication that its getting tired.

This is a complaint regarding lease termination inspection for BMW and outrageous payment that BMW charges for repair. I had an inspection for my BMW 528i on March 14, 2012 for the lease termination done by reps from Data Scan. For some reasons, the inspector refused to give me a repair cost after on-site inspection and suggested to call next day. He pointed 5 scratches on the body though. When I called next day, it turns out it was the phone number of BMW Financial Services. The representative told me over the phone that complete repair cost is $900.00.About a week later a got a statement from BMW Financial Services showing that my repair cost (5 scratches, from 2.5 to 10 long) is $2,700. I have a strong feeling that BMW running a scam, trying to punish customers who do not want to continue leasing from BMW. I paid my charges already but I want everyone who consider leasing BMW what they will face at the end of the lease termination.

Purchased a CPO 2006 X3 with 13K on it in 2006. Car now has 103K on it. First time buy of a BMW for us. Have owned many different brands (Ford, GM, Dodge, Audi, Honda) and I have never had anywhere near the range of problems that the BMW has had with any of them. Car was back at the dealer every 3 months like clockwork over a 3 year period for a different failure each time. Everything was fixed under the extended warranty that comes with the CPO cars (thanks God!!) and the dealer has been very good at fixing each problem. But due to the wide variety of failures, whatever confidence I had in the ultimate driving machine is long gone. Car is used for commuting to work daily for my wife and has always been garaged. The list of failures fixed under warranty: Torn engine mount, Sunroof controller failed, heated steering wheel failed (which also required a new airbag due to chaffed wires in the steering wheel), failed engine computer, failed rear wiper motor, water in the high mounted LED brake light, failed drivers seat position memory module, rear passenger door lock failed, broken rear coil spring and there is an oil leak around the oil filter housing (something that I learned is very common and an $800 repair at the dealer). The things that I had to fix myself once the car came off warranty: Failed front drive shaft CV joint because the boot cracked and slung out all the grease and the other rear coil spring broke. While replacing the drive shaft I found that the steel used in the car is very cheap. I sheared off a bolt head like it was made of butter while removing the front suspension strut. BMW makes very nice cards out of very poor materials. The interior of the car is not holding up too well either. The seat vinyl is cracking and some of the bezels around the switches in the door panels are peeling off a layer of plastic. Last BMW Ill ever buy.

I bought a brand new 2013 BMW 650i Gran Coupe xDrive which cost me $104K. After driving my car 13k miles, I got an oil change from a non BMW repair center which is okay according to BMW. The shop was not able to take off the service light when it turned on at 15k miles. They told me its not a problem because I already got the oil change; I should take it to BMW to take the service light off. Within five days, my car shut down and I got it towed to BMW of Bayside. When I took it to BMW of Bayside, they automatically declined my service because I never took the car for an oil change at a BMW dealer and told me I owe $18,500 for a new engine. I spoke to the service manager and I told him I had a valid receipt for repair. He was quick to answer, It doesnt matter to me. Your cars warranty is void. I quickly reached out to BMW of NA and going back and forth, they asked to see the receipt just to waste my time for two months. Now BMW of Bayside and BMW NA does not want to give me information or a reason why they arent covering me especially after BMW of Bayside told me when they received the car, it had only 4.5 quarts in the car and only 3500 miles over the normal 15000 miles per oil change limit, which should be enough to drive it even if I didnt get an oil change. Im now in the position of not paying for my car and leaving it in the shop. I will burn my credit before I shell out $28k for a warranty item!

I bought a BMW with extended warranty which covers paint, tires, windshield
I bought a BMW with extended warranty which covers paint, tires, windshield etc. I was not told about the full deal. I was misinformed about windshield because their extended warranty only covers it one time! If it happens again no one will help. I was not told and didnt read the fine print. Now I had also coverage for paint and had a scratch in the bumper. They said its accidental or driver error. I dont understand what I should do at this point. All I did was parked the car in the Home Depot parking lot and came back to see the bumper scratch. Now its not covered according to the BMW 3rd party coverage. I asked under what criteria my scratch is not covered and what did you based on? They said picture and some and someone came and looked at it and thinks that its not covered.I went and spoke to the sales manager. He said that you paid $2000 for windshield protection and now you already got the money back and just be happy about it. I paid almost around 8000 for extended warranty. No one is able to help me out at this point. I called IBC and they said they dont deal with extended warranty and ask me to call and talk to my local MP!!! Can anyone help?

BMW Nightmare! 7 months ago my 2008 X5 died while I was driving the vehicle. Fortunately, there were very few cars on the road at the time. I jumped the car and took it straight to United BMW in Duluth, Georgia. They informed me that everything checkout fine and I simply needed a new battery. Fast forward 7 months and the vehicle died again while I was driving at a speed of 45 mph. I nearly got rear-ended. My family and I made it home after getting the car jumped, only to have it die in my driveway. Oh wait! It gets better. The vehicle was towed to United BMW in Duluth this morning. I explained the history to the representative named Scott **. Scotts response to me is as follows: 1. You must drive the vehicle at least 20 miles a day. 2. You must lock the vehicle when youre not driving so the system completely shuts down. 3. We recommend you purchase supplemental power for the vehicle to ensure the batter is adequately charged.4. If your fuel is low you may also experience problems. My response to Mr. Scott **: No one in their right mind would purchase a BMW based on what you described! His response, My job is to give you the information. I apologize if your sales representative failed to do so. Needless to say, Im afraid to let my wife or kids operate this vehicle. BMW, IF THIS ISSUE DOES NOT GET FIXED ONCE AND FOR ALL, AND WE END UP IN AN ACCIDENT, YOU WILL PAY DEARLY!

Not clear about durability as I have the car only one year, but maneuvering, acceleration, safety mechanisms, etc., are excellent. 228i is a relatively small coupe with rapid acceleration (0 to 60 in seconds), great maneuverability (takes corners sharply and with stability), good safety mechanisms (rear view camera, alarms/reminders for seat belts, emergency brake, parking, etc.). Windows provide good visibility all around though I wish there was a rear window wiper. Has driver & front passenger heater seats, automatic air conditioning and seat settings that driver adjusts to his/her comfort level, etc. Trunk is a good size. Back seat is a bit small if youre tall, otherwise comfortable. Could use a bit more storage space (console, glove compartment and very small compartment next to driver door to lock up keys for glove compartment if valet parked). Remote keyless access. Great car/value for the money. Good support service from BMW.
