BMW Automobile Model 2026 BMW 2-Series

2026 BMW 2-Series

The 2026 BMW 2-Series is BMW’s compact entry in the luxury lineup, designed to appeal to drivers who want agile performance, everyday usability, and premium feel in a smaller package. Positioned below the 3-Series in BMW’s range, the 2-Series blends dynamic driving characteristics with modern technology and contemporary styling. It targets younger luxury buyers, commuters, and those who appreciate a sporty driving experience without the size and cost of larger sedans.

The 2-Series is available in coupe and convertible body styles, with sportier trims offering enhanced performance dynamics.

Design & Exterior Identity

The 2026 BMW 2-Series carries a compact and athletic silhouette:

Sporty proportions: Short overhangs, a relatively long wheelbase, and a muscular stance give the car a poised, dynamic presence.

BMW design cues: Classic BMW elements like a bold kidney grille, sharp headlights, and sculpted surfaces contribute to a modern look without sacrificing identity.

** Coupe and convertible variants:** The coupe offers a sleek profile for sporty appeal, while the convertible provides open-air motoring for lifestyle flair.

Clean lines: Precision-molded panels and purposeful design detail create an appearance that balances youthful energy with premium sophistication.

The 2-Series stands out in urban traffic without appearing overly aggressive.

Powertrain & Performance

Performance is a core feature of the 2026 2-Series lineup:

Turbocharged four-cylinder engines: The base and mid-level engines blend strong midrange torque with efficient fuel use, making the car capable and responsive in everyday driving.

Performance-oriented options: Sportier variants (such as M Performance models) deliver stronger acceleration and sharper responses, appealing to enthusiasts.

Automatic transmission: A smooth-shifting automatic gearbox enhances everyday usability while supporting rapid gear changes when driven dynamically.

Rear- or all-wheel drive: Rear-wheel drive maintains classic BMW balance and steering feel, while available all-wheel drive adds traction confidence in varied conditions.

The 2-Series offers quick throttle response and engaging acceleration appropriate for its size and segment.

Driving Dynamics & Handling

The 2026 2-Series emphasizes driver-focused dynamics:

Responsive steering: Steering feel is sharp and communicative, helping drivers feel connected to the road.

Balanced chassis: Suspension tuning blends sport-leaning poise with everyday comfort, minimizing body roll while absorbing most road imperfections.

Nimble handling: Smaller dimensions and well-tuned suspension make the 2-Series agile through corners and quick in directional changes.

Driver confidence: Balanced weight distribution supports confidence at speed and makes the car enjoyable on twistier routes.

The 2-Series aims to deliver driving enjoyment without penalizing comfort for daily use.

Interior Comfort & Technology

Inside, the 2026 BMW 2-Series blends modern technology with driver-focused ergonomics:

Supportive seating: Seats are designed to provide support during dynamic driving while remaining comfortable over long distances.

Quality materials: Soft-touch surfaces, refined accents, and premium upholstery elevate the cabin above entry-level compact cars.

Driver-oriented control layout: Switches and displays are placed logically to minimize distraction and enhance engagement.

Infotainment and connectivity: A central display integrates media, navigation, and phone connectivity, while smartphone mirroring allows access to favorite apps and communication tools.

The interior balances modern digital convenience with tactile usability.

Safety & Driver Assistance

The 2026 2-Series includes a suite of safety systems designed to support confident driving:

Adaptive cruise control: Helps maintain safe distances during highway driving.

Lane-keeping support: Assists with center-lane stability over long distances.

Automatic braking: Offers mitigation in sudden traffic slowdowns.

Blind-spot monitoring: Improves awareness during lane changes and crowded conditions.

These systems support everyday safety without overwhelming the driver with intrusive automation.

Strengths of the 2026 BMW 2-Series

Sport-leaning dynamics: Agile handling and responsive acceleration make the 2-Series fun to drive.

Premium feel: Quality materials, contemporary design, and modern amenities elevate the compact experience.

Body style variety: Coupe and convertible options allow buyers to tailor form and function to preference.

Balanced performance: Engines and chassis deliver a blend of everyday usability and dynamic engagement.

Driver focus: Steering and brake feedback support involvement and confidence.

Trade-offs & Considerations

Cargo and rear space: As a compact two-door vehicle, cargo and rear passenger space are more limited than larger sedans or SUVs.

Ride firmness: Sport-oriented suspension tuning may feel firmer over rough pavement compared with comfort-focused compact cars.

Fuel use: Performance tuning in sport variants can result in somewhat higher fuel consumption.

Niche appeal: Its compact form factor and sport focus lean toward enthusiasts rather than traditional luxury buyers focused on maximum comfort.

Who the 2026 BMW 2-Series Is Best For

The 2026 BMW 2-Series is ideal for drivers who:

Want a sport-leaning compact luxury car with engaging handling.

Appreciate dynamic driving character without moving into larger or pricier segments.

Value a premium interior and modern tech in a compact form.

Prefer a coupe or convertible body style for personal expression and style.

Enjoy a driver-focused experience balanced with everyday usability.

Bottom Line

The 2026 BMW 2-Series delivers an enticing package for those seeking compact luxury with performance character. Its agile handling, responsive powertrain options, and premium interior materials make it a compelling choice for buyers who want dynamic driving without sacrificing everyday comfort and connectivity. With the choice between coupe and convertible body styles — and the option of sportier trims — the 2-Series stands out as a versatile and enjoyable premium compact vehicle.

I bought a BRAND new BMW 530 XDrive last May 2019. This June 2019 I got a flat tire. I called roadside assistance for the first time and arranged a pick up. It took over 3 hours (FIRST sign they dont care) but they finally got a tow truck to me. The Companys name was T & T towing based in Waldorf. The dealership they were supposed to take my car to was less than 30 minutes up the road. SO after an hour has passed and no update. I called T&T towing to see the status of my vehicle. I was then informed NOBODY WANTS YOUR CAR, WE WILL DROP IT OFF WHEN WE DROP IT OFF. I look on my BMW app and see my car is heading to Waldorf and not BMW of Silver Spring as requested. I contact BMW RSA to let them know how I am being spoken to and that I would like my vehicle returned. I went to Google and wrote a review about the towing company.10 minutes later BMW RSA calls me back and say that T & T towing is refusing to return my vehicle because of my review. (Second sign they dont care) why would you call me. I don’t know them. YOU (BMW) chose them to tow my car. So if you are saying they won’t return it then my car is stolen at this point. Another Hour goes by no car. I now get the police involved and T & T towing decides to bring back my car. It is now 12am the next day.I called BMW to schedule a pickup for the next morning for 7:30-8am so they can get it because I go to work. I called the next morning at 8 only to be informed NO Tow truck was scheduled (Third sign they dont care). I call them and rearrange and afternoon pickup after 5. I get car tow by Past and Present Towing and Recovery. I go pick up my car and I now have a BIG gash missing from my bumper. I call and file a claim on June 5th 2019.First BMW denied my claim saying there is no record they towed my vehicle a second time. Then after I got RSA to send report because it seems customer service and RSA are on different networks and it shows they towed it twice. I am on month 3 and they STILL havent made a decision on my vehicle. I am going to sell this car and get an Audi or Mercedes. No reason to spend this much and they treat you like this.

I purchased my 2012 BMW X5 last November with 18K miles and a factory warranty. I brought the car in for its first service (in June, the computer told me) and oil change and to fix the tire air sensor. After the oil change was completed and supposedly the air tire sensor was fixed, I was told to call the service rep if I had any more issues. Well within a few minutes of leaving the dealer, the light flashed on and off and has been doing this ever since. Well I took it in today for another schedule service apt. - rear brakes (the computer told me too) - and to again check out the tire air sensor. I was told this would take one or two hours, so I waited (I was told they were out of loaners). (Note: work is over an hour away and home is 1/2 hour away). After over 3 hours, I got the car back and was told that I would have to come back yet again to fix this complicated tire air sensor - a couple of days will be needed to troubleshoot this issue, which I dont really care that much about. Air sensors are problematic on a lot of cars. I got in my car and the car said service check (computer) in two thousand miles (about maybe 6 weeks for me). So back at the dealer soon.Well I regret buying a BMW. It is an excellent ride. I didnt realize I would be spending so much time at the dealer for service for a late model car with relatively low mileage. So not worth it unless you live within a few minutes of the dealer. And yes the dealer will give me a ride anywhere! I work for myself, so every hour I am sitting in the dealer is an hour I am not getting paid for. I wish BMW would take some consideration for our time and realize not all of us have time to visit the BMW service dept. every month. I hope to get rid of this vehicle soon. So now I have to bring the car back for the third time - for the same issue. Oh well thats what I get for buying a BMW.

I bought a 2001 BMW 330CI from a friend in 2007. As much as I enjoyed my driving experience through the years, I have spent thousands of dollars in repairs. And every 2 years, I dreaded the smog certification process. It always failed and I would usually spend a ton of money trying to get it fixed so it would pass and I could renew my registration. This year was the last straw. I spent 3 months going back and forth to my mechanic, testing, re-testing and spending almost $600 on repairs; still not passing. Then I took it to another mechanic, where I spent over $1,000; still not passing. Then I went to a BMW dealer to have them reset the computer due to a BMW Bulletin on that particular year/model; still not passing, and another $175. In between all these visits, I took it out on various driving cycles to reset the monitors, per various YouTube recommendations. Finally, it passed in April 2015. In September 2015, I decided to sell the car, but since the sale was outside the 90-day window of smog certification, I had to have it smog checked again. Guess what? It failed. After fighting with a few of the mechanics I used before, one of them cut me a little break on the price; did some additional repairs to the tune of $411 and finally the car passed the smog check. In total, I spent almost $2,200 in repairs, just for smog certification, not to mention all the other stuff I had replaced over the years. By the way, most of the smog repairs were due to faulty sensors. I called the corporate office of BMW and they wouldnt do anything in the way of reimbursement.

My BMW 2006 325i with only just 50k plus miles now has a transmission overheat light warning. It was stuck in drive gear and forced into park. Next morning, it would not release into any gear. Endless problems, high parts cost, Arrogant dealership! - I realize fully that my opinion(s) are not exactly the same as some out there who are chiming in with comments about more recent models purchased, new or used from BMW dealerships, but I thought I would give my two cents because of my shock that these cars are absolutely not built with the same quality of a Mercedes or of Chevrolet (at least when it comes to their Corvette products). Recently, I purchased a 1999 BMW 328i Convertible with 116,000 miles on it. I did so believing that BMW had superior quality and engineering. The car is so cosmetically perfect as to indicate that it had been well taken care of, and the Carfax was in order, too. The engine overall runs fine, although Ive already gone through two steering pumps because BMWs are apparently prone to having steering pump clogging issues with their steering pump filters, also, my air conditioning does not work properly due to a common BMW problem called the fan regulator switch. Realizing fully that there would be things that needed fixing on any car with such high mileage, I never in my life have heard of some of the ridiculous things that are wrong with this car nor have I ever experienced the sticker shock with regard to finding/purchasing parts in order to patch this thing back together (i.e. a new cup holder, which usually can only be ordered directly from BMW because there are no used ones on the market due to the fact that they are made so cheaply is $60.00 at the local arrogant dealership. A coin holder which is usually broken but which has to be replaced in order to complete the restoration of the center console is $30.00 and looks like nothing more than a small piece of thin plastic with cheap springs inside). The airbag light that is on is not due to something specifically wrong with one of the airbags, but rather has to do with the seat belt tensioner, a typically BMW, overkill, goofy part and/or mechanism, which requires a full replacement of the seat belt latching mechanism on the passenger side, $550.00 for the part from BMW, $150.00 if Im lucky to find a used one on eBay that actually works. And the service advisor at the local dealership here in Kansas City just kind of laughed, like theyve done about most things. When I asked for an estimate to have it installed, saying, Its hard to say how much it would cost, we dont do much work on the ‘older’ cars.” When I asked about the drivers seat, of which the power gears have locked up and no longer work, he simply flat out said We really dont do work like that on the ‘older cars’, and recommended one of two or three local boutique-type foreign car garages around town.” The same went for my convertible top, always with a good little arrogant laugh. I inquired about an oil change, and after another arrogant little chuckle, and checking with several other mechanics and service advisors, was told it would probably be about $100.00. This after Ive spent a good $1,000.00+ at their dealership on parts which Ive installed myself. Ive owned several sports cars in my life, most of which were purchased used, including 5 Corvettes, and two Mercedes-Benz SLs (one of the Mercedes had over 160,000 miles on it when purchased; the other over 80,000 miles). All were far superior cars to this ultimate driving machine, with far fewer problems of any kind on them. I cannot believe the shoddy quality of everything on this car. The plastic on almost every plastic part is cheap and cracks; electrical problems are now starting to crop up with my entire left tail light mechanism failing to operate now (never have I experienced a whole bank of tail lights failing on any car Ive ever owned, foreign or domestic). I realized I was going to have to replace the top because it was worn out; however, parts of the top that are necessary to complete the top rebuild are astronomical in price, with small plastic pieces and one foot of elastic cord costing $80.00 wholesale; one piece, available only from BMW, that is held in place with the stupidest design I ever saw of having one central screw in the center of the windshield, cost $283.00 and is so flimsy that its a wonder that it wont need replacing once a year. The top doesnt work correctly and there is no guarantee that it ever will. Ive seen 30 year old Chevrolets with tops that are not this intricate, cheap, nor prone to problems that still work beautifully. Just today, most of my tail lights and all of my interior lights stopped working! This car looks like it was well taken care of, but it must have all been to no avail. I now understand why a used BMW is only worth about 30% of what a used Mercedes is valued at. I did not sign on to being a Beemer owner thinking that I was buying something with as many problems as a 50 year old Jaguar or MG. I was thinking the quality would be more like a Mercedes and as for the arrogant preamble to this site, which says: “High-performance cars require lots and lots of very expensive routine maintenance. Also theyre notorious for being afflicted with all kinds of exotic problems. If youre really into cars, understand them and are willing to lavish time, money and attention on one, the BMW may be for you. If youre looking to raise your self-esteem by buying something really expensive, we recommend real estate.”Thats **! Furthermore, the arrogance of the people who work at the local dealership, including at the parts counter is unbelievable. They almost want to argue with you about what part you need. If they cant find it immediately, they get cranky and claim it doesnt exist, that that was a part that BMW didnt put on the car, or some other crazy excuse. Then, when you finally bring them a part number, they apologize and tell you its $500.00. A Corvette and Mercedes SLs are high performance cars, and I do understand cars, and BMWs are pieces of crap! Just my two cents, but I will never purchase a BMW, new or used ever again!

BMW did not do anything financial to assist. No payments!!! The vehicle had 30k miles. They put a reman engine in. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER BMW EVER AGAIN. The dealer said there hands were tied and they could not do anything. All this could have been resolved for less than $4,000.00. BMW Corporate would not do anything.

DO NOT buy car from this dealer!!! This deal is selling you a defective car!!! I purchased a brand new 2020 X7 from this dealer. And the car was broken after 7 days driving: 1. The touch screen is 100% off, I cannot control anything on the display. 2. The bluetooth wipe out my and my wifes phone (Andriod and iPhone both) connection 3 time a week, which mean we need to reconnect/reconfigure our phone connection every other day. 3. The battery is dead permanently, the error signal was on when I purchased it originally, but the sales told me it will be back to normal after couple days driving. But after 1 week driving, the battery error signal is still there, and need to be replaced. 4. The rubber seal on the front end hook is coming out, and looks really ugly and do not match the BMW brand at all. 5. The auto lock is not function at all. After enabling this feature, the auto lock still not working at all. This feature is very normal one on any premium brand car back to 5+ year ago. I personally own another Acura and Tesla, all of cars have this function and there is no problems to use such function in the past 3 years.6. All of the cellphone app remote control function is not working on my car. I cannot lock/unlock/flash/horn the car via the phone app.I drop off the car 5 calendar days (4 business) ago. And service department is still working on it, from the time it took, I can definitely tell this is not a small issue. Since the service adviser told me, replacing a new battery will only cost them half business day. So for sure, there is a huge defective on this brand new X7 car. I am really surprised that this dealer will sell defective car to the customer, especially on such high end/premium 7 series product line. Update @2020-06-24: After 5 days waiting, today afternoon the service department just called me back, saying the display is totally off, and cannot be fixed by them. So they decided to order a new display from BMW, and the new part will by arrived in Friday (so another 3 business days waiting). And then they will need to replace the display part completely! Can you imagine this is what happened to a brand NEW X7, with 7 days driving and only less than 200 mileage.

I had purchased a BMW black X3 very recently on 8/2/13. The car was taken from the Cochin showroom on 8/2/13. While taking the car out on 9th for a short drive, a disturbing knock sound from the back side of the vehicle was occurring. The vehicle was taken to the showroom and the same was attended by the technicians on 12th Feb. On the 13th, while traveling the same sound was heard and this time it was louder. The vehicle was taken to the showroom again on 14th Feb, but I was informed by the staff that as the technicians were not available, the complaint cannot be attended to. The AC cooling effect was very less. Its highly disappointing to notice the callous attitude from the staff and just within days after purchasing a brand new car. This really creates a very bad remark on such a well-known prestigious brand.

My wife and I have 2 vehicles. A 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander with 130k miles and a 2007 Ford Edge with 128k miles. We decided to buy a certified pre-owned 2010 BMW X5 with 64k miles on it in March of 2016. Over the last 9 months, we have only put 6k miles on this vehicle and it has been serviced numerous times. We bought an Elite Plus, 2 year warranty. When we do drive this car, we baby it. This past week, we backed it out of the garage and instantly heard the engine fan going at max speed. About a mile later, warning messages came on to drive the car moderately and then to pull over and turn it off. Said the engine temperature was too high. We had it towed into BMW and after reading BMW forums, the exact same problem had happened to many X5 owners. The fix was nearly all the same: Failed electric water pump requiring replacement along with thermostat. Most people had their vehicles fixed for $1400 or less. Local BMW dealer said we not only need to replace the water pump and thermostat, but also coolant hoses, need a coolant flush and the reservoir replaced. $3500 in cost. My warranty is only good for $800 contribution to this problem. I was amazed at the vast number of BMW owners reporting on this problem at 60-70k miles for the exact same issue. One would think there would be a recall on this, but no. I bought a BMW for the Ultimate Driving Machine experience and had heard of its reputation as a reliable vehicle. 2016 has been a disaster for this vehicle and I am not only disenchanted with the need to replace the water pump and thermostat, but I also feel like the BMW dealer is trying to bilk me by replacing coolant hoses and the reservoir when I dont even have a leak problem.

Driving along and all of the sudden a fan came on with a loud blowing sound. I parked my car and planned to take it to the shop the next day. I checked the coolant, it was a little low so I added. The next while on the way to the shop, still loud blowing, the engine overheat warning came on. I pulled over and towed to the shop. As soon as they hear the fan come on, they said immediately, the water pump failed - We get about 4 or 5 a week on this car. As a result, I have to replace a water pump, and cracked radiator, $2,000. I check the internet and found many, many of the same complaints. I read that there was a recall for the X5s with the V8 engine. I imagine the design is the same and therefore the recall should include the V6 engine as well.

Now the car is 51000 miles and it is leaking oil from the valve cover and is leaking oil from the main seal and needs motor mount. The car is service at BMW. The technician said he was going to have to lower the engine and transmission in order to change the main seal. Also, he said BMW that doesnt leak oil is not a BMW (sarcastic). $2000 job, thanks God I bought the extended warranty. My last car was a 2002 Acura mdx, drove 9 years, put 187,000 miles, never leak any oil and the only money I spent in that car was a tune up I did when the car was around 120.000 miles. My next car will be a Lexus gx460, the real ultimate drive machine!! Bmw is good for the rich people, they lease for 2 years then return and get another one. I had actually received a piece of mail that had said my car was a recall. Now as many years as we’ve owned the car never have I ever heard or had been sent a letter of my car being a recall and we’ve been the first owners the only owners and it’s been so many years. My car is a 2001 and they’re just recently telling me about the recall which could’ve killed me and my kids and very harmful very harmful recall. Actually it is. They should’ve notified people a lot sooner because anything could happen whether it’s your fault or not your fault. Then they tell you to come in and that they will take care of it for you but they make it almost impossible for you to bring your car in and at the very end they end up making you pay for something which is supposed to be completely on their end. The customer service was horrible.

I have a major problem with my 2007 BMW X3! The motor mount brackets are broken and my engine isnt sitting in its correct place anymore! This sounds like a manufacturing defect and a huge safety issue (this is my family car and my family could have been seriously injured). I purchased my X3 certified pre-owned and added extended maintenance. This should be covered but BMW of Henderson, NV said that it is not, and would have occurred due to driver error. That is ** and I could have never caused this. I only drive on streets and highway roads, plus, I baby my car! I bought a BMW because of its reputation and am hugely disappointed! I wanted to stick with BMWs and planned to always own a BMW until this incident! I dont trust the brand as much as I used to and I cant believe that a BMW dealership wont own up to something that should be a huge safety concern and should be covered--my family and other families safety!

Since July 2011 they keep on telling that they will tell the current owner to bring the car so that they can remove it and get it fitted in my new car. Till today, they are not giving me back my tracker unit. What is frustrating is that they dont want to tell me the truth or maybe they lost it. I dont know, I just keep on waiting for them.

One of the issues has been an EVAP leak error which keeps coming up every 6 months. Now they say you have to continue paying to diagnose the same issue that they could not fix. I have had it with BMW and when comparing it to my E350 Mercedes Benz I will give Mercedes a thumbs up on their service and their car. I am just so frustrated with BMW and this will be the last car I buy with them.

Two weeks ago we had great pleasure in taking BMW Arden to the small claims court. My daughters 18 month old BMW had a faulty wishbone arm. It should have been repaired under warranty but she had to pay the insurance excess of £395. We had a small win as BMW had to pay it back. I know it wasnt much but at the end of the day it was the principle. Here is how it began: BMW Series 1. On 17 September 2017 my daughter Sam stopped at traffic lights to turn right into the Esso garage. When the lights changed, she moved slowly away, at this point the wishbone arm snapped causing her to catch the car in front. A passing mechanic who has his own garage examined the car and said it had issues. The only marks on her car was a small dent and scratch as the photos show. We sent photos to an online mechanic, he said that slight knock would not have caused the wishbone arm to snap. Her insurance company transported the car to their garage in Ashford. A couple of days later BMW asked Sam if they could take it to BMW Arden to undergo repairs as it was still under warranty. When she collected her car a month later, she was shocked when she had to pay her insurance excess of £395.00, she’d been told it was being repaired under warranty. It is apparent that at no time Ageas the insurance company inspected the vehicle. A letter dated 6th March 2018 states “I have reviewed our Audatex report from Arden Maidstone repairers who have not advised in their comments on the engineers report that the drive shaft snapped due to wear and tear or due to being faulty. Had they seen the car then they would have known it was the wishbone arm and not the driveshaft. They also wouldn’t have had to ask BMW what caused it to snap!We wrote and complained to BMW Arden, BMW Customer Services and the Ombudsman. They all said the insurance company carried out the repair so you have to pay. Her authorized repair company in Ashford did not do the repair, BMW Arden did and then invoiced the insurance company for £4550,09. Our mechanic said the cost should have been no more than £500. A solicitor advised me the onus of responsibility lay with Arden BMW, she said the insurance company was just doing their job.On July 6th, 2018 I wrote a final letter to Gary ** the assistant service manager at BMW Arden, His last email said, “The possible cause of the broken wishbone arm was wear and tear.” At the time my daughter’s car was 18 months old with under 7000 on the clock, so how could it have been wear and tear? We believe it had a faulty wishbone arm from new or it was in an accident when it was delivered to Arden Maidstone.

I recently submitted a survey of my recent visit to the local BMW dealership (Schafer BMW of Wilmington, NC). I stated that I had taken my vehicle (2011 X3) in for a problem with noise coming from the passenger side at speeds of 45-50 MPH. The dealership stated that they too heard the noise and it was due to the tires. With 30K miles on the tires and their recommendation, I purchased 4 new tires, had them balanced and a front end alignment. Two weeks later I noticed the same noise coming from the same location. I returned my vehicle to the same dealership and again stated that the same noise was coming from the same location even after purchasing 4 new tires with an out of pocket of expense of $850 for tires, mounting, balancing and front end alignment. The dealership now states the noise is coming from the exhaust and not the tires. The resolution is still pending and BMW Customer Relations and Assistance states that they cannot reimburse me for the tires or accept responsibility of the dealerships misdiagnosis. Help!

My 2006 330xi has been a great car. My warranty expired after four years. During the four years of covered issues including replacement of tires twice (very loud run flats) and replacement of chrome around the windows that oxidized, I was still a happy owner. I noticed that the rubber strip that meets my windshield and the top of my car was flaking off of the car. I called my dealer, BMW Devon Hill. First, I was insulted on the telephone when the service technician asked me if my car was outdoors. Then, I brought the car in and he looked at the problem and showed it to the manager, and when I returned, I was told that I was out of warranty. He was kind enough to give me an 800 number to call. Why he didnt go any further to help me is the first complaint I have.I spoke to a very nice girl over a period of 10 days who also told me that I was out of warranty and basically told me to have a nice day. I wrote a letter to BMW. Someone called. That was a miracle. He asked me a few questions, called back, and had the same final decision. My complaint is the rubber probably cost about $5, if that and the labor might be 10 to 15 minutes. This automobile, ultimate driving machine cost me $42,000, and once I went out of warranty, it was, Goodbye. Youre out of warranty. I couldnt be more disappointed. I would never buy another BMW for something as small as this problem. I was insulted and basically dismissed by everyone. I think this is terrible public relations, customer service, call it whatever you want.

2009 BMW 335I - Battery was removed to be replaced. Closed trunk as car was in public place, now I cannot access trunk to replace battery, cannot use front jump option under hood as cables in trunk are touching or grounded. At this time the only option BMW is suggesting is to have car towed to BMW so they can troubleshoot at $175 an hour - and from what I have found is they will locate the fuse wire and use that to open trunk. They removed the key hole in 2009 with this car thus leaving the consumer in the lurch.

I have never had a worse experience in purchasing a new car than from Schomp BMW (Highlands Ranch, CO). Sales people were warm and friendly but management and the quality of the car was terrible. The day I took the car off the lot, check engine light came on. Called my sales rep and he asked me to bring the car in to get it reviewed and fixed. Two weeks later, I got the car back. One week after that, engine light came on, yet again. Same as before, waited two weeks to get the car back. I was hoping this was the end of it. One day later, check engine light. At this point, I was incredibly frustrated and concerned that I bought a lemon given its been in the shop 3 times with less than 400 miles on the car.Asked Schomp BMW to provide an extended warranty given how many times I had to bring it back into the shop for repairs. Management was willing to look into the warranty and mentioned they would go to bat for me. They also asked if I would be willing to pay another $1K for the warranty if needed and wanted to manage expectations. I said absolutely not given the number of issues I have had with the brand new car. They called me back a couple days later and said they could provide the warranty if I pay $2K. Thats double what they initially told me! You dont set the anchor price in one conversation and then double it in another. Thats Sales 101.I ended up giving the car back to Schomp and getting a refund. Its a bummer. I really liked the car and was also working with the Sales rep on purchasing another vehicle. They are playing the short game and lost a long-term customer as I will never buy a BWM or another car from a Schomp dealership. What a terrible experience.

There is a recall on all BMW N63 vehicles for excessive oil consumption bulletin B001314) customers care package. My BMW 550i GT is consuming oil and white smoke is coming out the tailpipe. I took my vehicle to BMW and they refuse to perform the necessary repairs included in the ccp, my crankcase valves, also the cooling hoses. All this is included in the class action suit they claim I have a engine leak. The engine is leaking because the valves are worn and need to be changed. I need help getting them to conform to the ccp. The people at BMW say I need to replace my engine at a cost of more than 15 thousand dollars and due to the mileage on my car 106 thousand they are on going to pay 4 thousand dollars. So I’m stuck paying more than the car is worth unbelievable. Don’t buy BMWs because it’s only a matter of time before your valves go bad as they use plastic parts throughout the engine.

I have a 2011 BMW 528i Sedan. Bought as a CPO, with factory warranty for about a year remaining at the time of purchase. From the beginning, I have noticed that trying to brake moderately quickly at low speeds (10 - 20 MPH) would create a very bad clunk from the front-end. Trying to reapply the brake quickly while the car is starting to roll (driving off) will cause a smaller clunk and a very noticeable vibration of the whole body of the car. Dealer replaced the thrust-rod bushings in the front, but that did not fix it.Later, the dealer (perhaps under instructions from BMW?) started claiming that the clunk was normal, since it was found in other 5-series cars!! They would simply not regard the fact that other BMW cars dont exhibit the same problem, and heck, even the non-luxury cars from Honda / Toyota / Nissan / Hyundai / GM / Ford etc. etc. dont exhibit this problem!!Now I am close to the expiration of factory warranty. In the last month or so, I have started noticing a metallic knock from the rear axle area when braking at 15-20 MPH speed, a clicking noise from the front passenger door while slowing down, various creaks/squeaks from various parts of the body at random while driving, unusually heavy rattling from the driver and front passenger doors/windows on rough pavement...I have taken the car to the dealer for these various noises, and the dealer has not been able to replicate these noises, other than just one rattle from the coin box. A LOT OF PROBLEMS, in one sentence. To make matters worse, MOST of the things outside the power-train seem to be excluded under the BMW CPO warranty. I am not really sure what to do, as the factory warranty is about to expire in just two weeks..

I recently purchased an 09 BMW 535i which had 23k miles. I have since put 8k miles on this pile and it has been in for service twice both for fuel related issues (injectors/fuel pump). When it was in for service last time, they said I needed four new tires. How could this be? I explained to the sales manager I thought I bought a certified pre-owned vehicle. After our meeting, he said he would pay for the two front and I would have to pay for the rears (ridiculous) especially when I traded in a car with brand new tires on it. Well, since he was only willing to purchase the two rear, I said okay reluctantly. But when he said the two rear tires will cost me $1,400 with an alignment, I about fell out of my chair. I then explained that I would get the four tires on my own and bring him the bill for the rear two since I know I can get them much cheaper. His response was no for the reason he did not want to take the commission from his service writer and his service department. (Wow.) This guy would rather make sure his people are making a buck rather than make a customer happy. I will never buy a BMW again. It has been the worst experience of my life. They are only concerned about making a buck. They have no integrity or honor. I dont want to deal with this type of people.

I absolutely love the 2017 BMW 7-Series. This is my second BMW and its my all time favorite. This car drives like nothing I have driven before. I had owned a series 3 prior to this purchase and found that it was easy to park, but just not big enough for everything we do. That was the main determining factor in purchasing this car. The leg room in the back is what you find in the front seat. No worrying about the front seat hitting your knees when the front seat is adjusted. With the front seats as far back as possible, there is still ample leg room, even for a tall person. The only thing that I have an issue about is the hefty repair charges. In the previous car, quite a bit after the warranty expired, I needed some repairs done. After purchasing the new model, we found the repair bill for the old car. It was nearly the amount that we put down as the cash deposit. Repairs can get expensive but it is worth it. All the controls are easy to read and figure out. The music that comes with the car is phenomenal. I have never heard speakers sound this good in factory sound system. Typically if you want sounds this good you would need to purchase a new stereo package as an after purchase add on. Also, the way it hugs the corners and curves is unbelievable. This is the smoothest ride ever.

I purchased a BMW 550i new from the dealer ($75K). I was sold a maintenance warranty on the understanding that it covered the cost of replacing the brakes at 80K miles. When it reached the 80K I was told that the brakes still had too much life on them to replace and since the 5-year warranty was expiring, they would not replace the brakes. Theres some small print that was not clear that allows them to do this. DONT BUY THE EXTENDED SERVICE WARRANTY if you decide to purchase a BMW. Its a total rip off. Unless you drive very aggressively, you will basically overpay for for oil changes and windshield wipers. Read on about whether you should buy a BMW.While I liked the car, it has had an endless set of repairs. This was fine while it was under warranty but a money drain once it was off warranty. My car was delivered with the engine light on. I subsequently had it taken back to BMW in Monsey, NY using my miles (over 100 there and back) only to have the light go back on, over the course of the lease. The tires, it appears arent strong enough for the weight of the car. I would get a flat often or bubbles on the tire, not to mention I felt everything on the road. My issue is mostly with roadside assistance. It would have been better not to have it as an option. I would never have gone with a BMW to start with, but more importantly I would not have been stuck for hours waiting for a promised tow truck -- that never showed up. On 3 occasions during my lease term of 39 months I needed roadside service. The first 2 times, they didnt have anyone and the third time, after waiting 90 minutes I was told the TOW TRUCK broke down. I lease a 2014 528i and I am about to return the car at the end of the Nov 2016. I called customer service and everyone has a very pompous and entitled attitude. Theyre very rude! One supervisor finally removed 1 tire charge and 1 ding charge of $300 but still leaving me with an abusive $900 charge for a couple of very small dings that you can barely see.I called customer service a second time and the woman I spoke with was rude, short and useless! Not to mention that after driving the car for 2 years it started shaking and rattling when idled at a traffic light. These cars are not built well at all. They are the ultimate driving machine indeed. They will ultimately drive you broken, frustrated and unsatisfied. I was actually considering leasing an X6 but now I WILL NEVER LEASE OR BUY ANOTHER BMW AGAIN.

I purchased my 2013 BMW 328i in 2015. The car has about 46.000 miles on it, and it is just out of warranty. The check engine light went on. I took it to Stevens Creek BMW for repair. After they did the diagnosis, they texted me I need new NVLD pump. I confirmed with them that it is $546 including parts and labor. However, when I came to pick up the car, they charged me $761.89. They told me the additional $215.89 was diagnosis fee. I was wondering why the dealer charge diagnosis fee. Isnt that diagnosis part of the repair procedure. I paid the full amount anyway.I took my car and went on the freeway for couple miles. The check engine light came back on again. I assumed that they didnt test drive after the repair. I ended up to take my car back to the dealer the next day. They did another diagnosis and found a different problem. It was fuel tank venting valve. This time the problem seems fixed. I think I shouldnt pay for the diagnosis fee because I let them repair in same dealership. They didnt told me there were diagnosis fee prior to my authorization of repair. Second, I paid $190 for the fault repair pump which the fuel tank venting valve shouldnt cost that much. My suggestion is that you want to make sure what is total amount you have to pay... We purchased a 2010 BMW 535i station wagon from Bob Smith BMW in Calabasas 4 years ago. We even paid for extended warranty to 100k miles. The engine broke down on 89k miles. Contacted BMW North America AND Bob Smith to repair, no one takes responsibility to help us. After the car had to towed to Bob Smith for diagnosed (it was already diagnosed elsewhere to determined the engine went bad already) they told us it will cost over $1600 to diagnosed. Then they told us it will cost us over $20,000 to replace the engine. Yes, you read it correctly... $20,000 NOT $2,000.Bad customer service when it comes to warranty. Only if we could beg the public not to purchase BMW, we would. If youre thinking of owning one, please think twice before you do it. BMW will give you the best service when everything is going well, but the minute something is seriously wrong with the car they will show their true color. So sad & extremely disappointed with the way BMW handled the whole situation. Weve owned 4 BMW but we are going a different direction now. Unfortunately we still have another BMW 328i, cant wait to just get rid of it as well. Sighed.

BMW 750i xdrive run flat tires and wheels - I have lost 5 new front pirelli run flat tires within the 6 month. In addition one of my wheel cracked and I had to replace it as well. Evidently BMW command center that pushing these run flat tires dont care about their customers. These run flat tires might be good for European autobahns but not for road conditions in East Coast. I have changed the plans of purchasing BMW for my son. No anymore BMW. I have replaced the tires to non run flat. In addition to it BMW claims that run flat can run another 50 miles after damaged is not simply true - it barely runs 10 miles max before start damaging the rim. In addition BMW emergency service does not deliver anything emergency except being polite on the phone. I will be selling out my BMW as soon as I can get rid of it. If you dont want to waste your money stay away from BMW. It is not the luxury car anymore as it use to be back to history.

I purchased a BMW 228i from a authorized BMW dealer and right after one year with 12000 miles on it the original Pirelli tires on the car split from the sidewall. I know for sure that I didnt hit the curb or anything and the car is always garaged. When I spoke with BMW they said they cant do anything about it and you need to contact dealer. So I contact my deal and he said since you didnt purchased any tire warranty with us we cant do any thing and you need to pay $400 to replace the tire. Since it was important I went ahead and spend $400 for just one tire. Now its a month passed and the exactly same thing happened on another tire and this time I again contacted BMW asking if there is any manufacturing defect with the tire or wheels. They opened the case and asked me that we will take 3 days to revert back with the case. Its already 1 week passed and they never bother to revert back to me on whats going on with the case. Couple of days back I called customer service and they said its being assigned to the service manager Matt ** in BMW and if you want you can call at his extension otherwise he will revert back to you. I called at his extension 3 times. Left a voice message but they just dont bother to at least call me back and tell me we are working on it. It feels like they just dont care about they customers, not sure if they are working in the office or not. THE MOST PATHETIC customer service from such a big company. Now that not over, this time I went to discount tires for this tire issue and they said if you are at tread count lower than 2/32 (which is 8/32 since the new tires are at 10/32) since you purchase the new car which and if it is a run flat tires Pirelli (Original tires from BMW) will replace it for free and if the tread count is lower than that (8/32) it will calculated as pro rated basis. They called Pirelli themselves and give me after pro rated calculation. They gave me $100 back and also replaced it with new tires. Now when this happened to my another tire neither BMW or their authorized dealer (Ralph ** BMW), that you will get the pro rated amount back. It felt like Ive been cheated by BMW and their authorized dealer.

My speedometer in my brand new car is off by 10% and when I brought it in to BMW Spokane for correction, was told BMW has a disclaimer for accuracy of their speedometers. WTF? Having several other electronic issues like the radio randomly shutting itself off, seat cooler and armrest heaters turning themselves on and the XM radio rerunning the program from about 5 minutes back if for some reason, I briefly lose connection like driving through downtown or something. My Toyota gave none of these problems, nor does my sons Subaru. Also they dont provide a courtesy vehicle in Spokane citing the global supply chain. I could go on about the service dept in Spokane which has been another BMW disappointment. Glad Toyota isnt impacted in that way. Dropping a 130 grand on a car I thought I would have for years is embarrassing as I dont have that new car joy. I dislike my car and will never buy another BMW.

I own 2 BMWs. A 2008 750I and a 2008 X5. In the last year I have spent over $5000.00 on each car. Its one thing or another. The most expensive are the various oil leak repairs. I have owned BMW cars for the last 8 years. I am done. The design of the engine, while high tech, is not reliable and will have the customer spending a lot of money for repairs.

I leased a 328i three years ago. It was my second one. United BMW in Roswell bent over backwards to get me into another vehicle, treated me like gold... The car had 21,000 miles on it, a cream puff. When I told them I was not interested in leasing another they put their game face on. Inspecting and reinspecting the vehicle in full sun for anything they could tag me with. They pulled out their dingo meter and one tire was a tenth of 1 millimeter off... They banged me for 300 bucks. My dent and ding package only covered the ding if the paint was not chipped on top… They took out the microscope. The general manager was an **... They lost a good customer. I will make sure I let all my friends know. Be prepared if you lease a BMW, they will bend you over in the end.

I owned a 2008 BMW 335i. My car got caught in fire yesterday and it covered with flames. Luckily I got out the car quickly and nobody is hurt. Its too dramatic and I would never have expected this. I used to love its apparent and the cars handling, even though there are numerous problems I had to deal with (random misfires, water pump, fuel pump and crankshaft position sensor failures). Up to this point, I am hesitated to buy another BMW in future. I Googled and there is a list of news reported about BMWs get caught in fire.

I purchased a 2008 BMW 335i as a second owner. Then, I discovered after the purchase that the title was branded lemon--manufacturer buy-back. Carfax did not have the word lemon until two years later when the state of California required the word lemon be added. Regardless, the BMW was a buy-back at 4,000 miles because the fuel pump failed. Eight months later, the below recall was issued:VOLUNTARY RECALL: BMW High-Pressure Fuel Pump Voluntary Emissions Recall--models w/ N54.The upshot of this is that my car was branded a lemon due to manufacturing failure but none of the cars post recall were branded as such. BMW refuses to intervene on my behalf to the California DMV, to reserve the title branding; thus, leaving my car worth 25% less than comparable values for this particular model. While trying to trade it at a BMW dealership, they confirmed that it wasnt worth 60% of comparable values.Doesnt BMW USA have a responsibility to make this right? None of this would have been known by me had I not seen a Carfax with the updated lemon language and had I not tried to sell the car, now with 35K miles on it. Please help me. BMW has flatly said that there is no recourse for me.

The husband and I both have BMWs. Mine is a 2010 and his is a 2011. After getting extremely crummy service at Fairfax BMW in Fairfax, VA, we decided to try Sterling BMW in Sterling, VA. Surely BMW doesnt hand out their Center of Excellence awards all willy-nilly-like, right? Well, apparently, they did in 2010. While there are many additional detailed points of their suckage, I will provide you the highlights:I took the 2010 in to get new tires. After spending $2000 on 4 new kicks mounted and balanced and alignment for the old girl, they wanted to charge us over $100 to fill the tires with Nitrogen. While I understand its a business, dont nickel and dime me when I just dropped $2000. After finally getting my car back, we drove it home. Traffic was a little rough that evening, so we werent going terribly fast. The next day, however, we noticed a major wobble. The vibration was so bad, the side mirrors were shaking. I got to work and felt like I had driven a jackhammer instead of my luxury car. I took it back in on Monday. They finally called on Tuesday, claiming it was two bad tires. Alright, fine. When we went to pick up my car, they couldnt find it. Let me repeat that. When I went to go rescue my car, they had misplaced it. It took the entire service department, a few of the sales guys and over an hour to find it. Immediately after picking it up, we magically had squeaky brakes that we had never had before. The sad thing is that Id rather listen to the brakes than to BMW Sterlings horrible excuses.During the same time, we had my husbands SUV in for several items that BMW Fairfax couldnt fix after repeated visits. These included brakes, slipping transmission, air conditioning and a rattle in the tailgate. They had the Bears car for over a week. They replaced the brakes and fixed the AC. They could not, however, recreate the slipping transmission and they said they could not hear the rattle, despite the fact that they let the technician drive our car home one night (Im still reeling at that one especially when they asked my husband if that would be okay and he said no)! Of course, we heard the rattle in the tailgate as soon as we left the dealership. Call us crazy, I guess. We changed from Audi over to BMW because of service issues. We had a 5 series and a Mini Cooper prior to getting our current cars. When we got these cars in San Francisco, we were in love with the cars and the dealership/service. At this point, we are about a millisecond away from switching to Mercedes. Apparently, our paltry two-car household matters not to the auto giant. Between the incompetence, attitude and just overall cheapness, I cant see spending another cent with BMW. Dare I say lemon? I dare.Ha! So we got a call from BMW USA. After playing phone tag for 3 weeks, the Rep rushed us through our side of what has happened. She kept saying she was sorry we felt that way anytime we mentioned how disappointed we were about the crummy service or the shoddy quality. When she asked what we wanted, DH mentioned we would love to be able to just settle things amicably without having to consult a lemon-law lawyer. She said that if that was what we wanted to do, go ahead. This doesnt bode well for their Customer Service. I will update with results.Update #2: We were promised a resolution within 3-5 business days. We are on the 4th business day and just got a call from BMW USA to tell us they dont have a resolution yet. Surprise, surprise. And, there is no update on when we will know something. We are not surprised one single bit, aside from the fact that they called at all. What do you want to bet that they will wait until we make our next payment in 6 days and then call to tell us they cant do anything?Update #3: My husband finally called and was told we would hear something early in the week during the week of 7/16. They are supposedly waiting to hear something from Fairfax BMW. Im not holding my breath.Another update: We were supposed to hear from Customer Service last week. Nada. DH called on Friday, 7/20, and asked for her extension. It rang and someone else answered. DH requested our rep and was asked what it was in regard to. He told her we are trying to give back our lemon. She said she would look up our case, looked up the information and surprise! She couldnt find anything. He asked then to get transferred to our reps phone and he left a message requesting a call back that day. Again, nothing. We got a call back from her today, 7/23. The phone didnt ring; we just got a voice mail. We called her back and havent heard a peep since then.We are giving her until tomorrow pm to get back with us and if we dont hear from her, we will be foregoing the niceties and proceeding directly past go to a lemon lawyer. In the midst of all this, other things have stopped working on the X5. The rear camera works occasionally, but it chooses when and where. The auto-telescoping steering wheel has stopped working. The transmission is still jerky. My opinion? Do not buy a BMW!

Bought the tire and wheel warranty straight from the dealership. The 2001 BMW R1150 GS is a fabulous motorcycle. A beast of a motorcycle. Well engineered and tough it will take you where miles are afraid to tred! The R1150 GS has power to spare. Surprising lower and performance. My last motorcycle was a 2003 Harley Davidson 883 Sportster. I was impressed with the power of that Harley but this 1150 BMW puts it to shame. The BMW is smooth yet robust. The 6-speed gearing has a wide range. I especially like third gear! A handful of throttle feels like you are blasting off to the moon! At age 67 I only rode my BMW mildly off road on my own farm and then only over improved dry pastures! Mine has just over 31,450 miles at the time of this review! My bike was fully serviced and ready to ride anywhere when I purchased it second hand. The tires were just 1 year old with just 1,000 miles on them. I am 67 years old and recently purchased this BMW motorcycle in September 2021, however it is too tall for me to ride comfortably and safely. I have a 30" inseam but riders need longer legs to safely handle this motorcycle. I thought about lowering the suspension but these GS BMW's are too nice to alter. So I purchased a second BMW R1200C Pheonix last week which suits my stride much better. I do not need two BMW motorcycles so I am reluncticly parting with my GS. This is what Cycle World Magazine had to say about the BMW R1150 GS: BMW R1150GS - BEST USED BIKES Exemplifying the very essence of a two-wheel Swiss army knife. Cycle World July 22, 2015 YEARS SOLD: 2000–2004 MSRPNEW: $14,190 ('00) to $14,500 ('04) BLUE BOOK RETAIL VALUE: $4,885 ('00) to $6,500 ('04)BASIC SPECS: The R1150GS is powered by an 1,130cc air-/oil-cooled, four-stroke opposed twin featuring four valves per cylinder, electronic fuel injection, and shaft drive. The 1150 introduced a six-speed gearbox, while later models came equipped with dual spark plug heads and servo-assisted combined ABS brakes. The GS weighs 582 pounds WET with its 5.5-gallon fuel tank topped up and produced 74 hp and 68 pound-feet of torque at the rear wheel on the Cycle World dyno. The "Showa" suspension offers 7.9 inches of rough road-smoothing travel, while the adjustable saddle height (33.1 to 33.8 inches) accommodates a range of riders. WHY IT'S DESIRABLE: Few bikes have proven to be as versatile as the GS BMW Beemer family, with the 1150 exemplifying the very essence of a two-wheel Swiss army knife. It's a road-hardened touring mount and heavyweight dual-sport all wrapped in one. "I went places and saw things on the GS that I never would have on another bike," Mark Hoyer remarked back in the days before he was editor-in-chief. "It truly makes molehills out of mountains." All that, plus the reputation of durability and reliability rivaling that of an anvil easily warrant the price of purchase. THE COMPETITION: Long-travel twins gained prominence in the early 2000s with the introduction of the KTM 950 Adventure and 1,000cc Ducati Multistrada. Undoubtedly, this trend was helped along by the BMW R1150GS, which was honored as the Best Sport-Touring Bike of 2000 by Cycle World in our Ten Best issue.

I recently visited the BMW service center in about my 2007 BMW 525i, 58K old car. It stalled on the road with a huge cloud of smoke behind the car on the coldest day of the winter and I had to tow the vehicle to the service center. I did not get an appointment initially. I was told it would take at least couple of days to see the vehicle. I had no choice but leaving the vehicle at the service center. It took 10 days to get my vehicle back. I did not get the vehicle completely fixed and problem free. Nobody trust the owner of the car when I said I never found a single problem till it was stalled on the road.I was charged $2k initially. When I asked for the bad spark plugs which were replaced as part of the process, I was told they were disposed, then the representative went inside and found unused parts lying around the car and reduced that part price from the $2k he initially charged and gave me a new receipt. If I had not asked for spark plugs, I would have paid $2k and returned losing my money for the unused parts brought as part of my invoice. I am not confident if they have really replaced the parts that they are saying they did as part of the service contract. Now my car makes a chopper sound. It rattles like a old car out from the junk yard. The service manager says it could have existed before and it is continuing which is not true as nobody trust the car owner. The service guy told me that my engine is hydro locked and says that he never saw such problem in his entire experience and says that he do not know how to fix this. I am left to live with the problem. I smell the burnt odor when I drive. I do not know if it is a major problem or not. I was told if I drive the car for 1000 miles, the burnt smell will go away. One more surprising thing is, I was told they removed the entire engine oil from the engine. When they did that, is it not their responsibility to fill it back to normal level? They did not do it and told me I have to drive at least 1000 miles do get rid of the burnt smell and delivered the car. I took the car home, before I reached home it threw an error message saying the Engine Oil Levels are below minimum. What kind of service is that? Do they want to ruin my car and make me buy a new one or leave the car for more repairs and get looted? When I contacted the service center about the Engine Oil Levels, service manager asks me to come down to top off with one quart of oil. I asked him how can they deliver the car with engine oils at so minimum levels after service? I got no satisfactory answer. I have to leave the car for half day at the service center requesting (begging would be a right word here) to service my car paying $120+ more.I have no peace of mind with the car. All these problems clearly state that if you are out of warranty, just sell the car and get rid of the hassles. 58k on my car shows that it is still a baby. But the problems on the car are very scary. It is just the appearance and from inside BMW is the most problematic car I have ever experienced. I have to always worry about the battery draining because of the continuous checking of computers. The display throws all sorts of problems. Some times it stops working. Display is not a wear out part so early. Why should a customer worry about the car all the time? I have gone thru the forums. A lot of problems with 525 series. Why dont you guys recall and fix the problems? Why should the customer suffer so much paying for all the hot fixes you forgot in the first place while releasing the model? I am a very good driver and I maintain the cars very perfectly servicing them every 5k miles and taking good care. I have a Honda Odyssey 2007 model. Hassle free, not a single problem till now. Cars should be like that, hassle free. BMW is proving that luxury is a pain and a hole in customer pocket. If BMW is trustworthy as it claims, then please fix my car with no additional costs, as you did not fix the problem in the first case, despite charging me so much money and time. I hope someone will respond positively to this painful email. If not I will definitely will not buy a BMW in my life again and would not recommend to anyone. It is really painful knowing that BMW is so poorly serving customers not fixing the cars problems properly and driving customers to buy new cars.

My 2009 BMW 328xi had trouble starting one day. I brought it to my mechanic
My 2009 BMW 328xi had trouble starting one day. I brought it to my mechanic and he said everything looked fine. My car had been serviced by BMW until I bought the car in December 2014. So in Feb 2015 when I was driving my car on the NYS thruway, it shut down!!! The car shut down!!! Fuel Pump warning came on. I was fortunate I was able to steer the car off to the shoulder and called AAA. They towed it to my mechanic less than two miles (how lucky) and my mechanic replaced the fuel pump, even though he said, it looks fine. August 2015 (less than 6 months later) I was traveling in the Bronx going through a light when AGAIN car shut off. I was able to coast to a gas station. Lucky again. FUEL pump warning again. I called my mechanic and he said it seems like something more serious.I called corporate and they suggest to get my car to the Spring Valley NY BMW dealer where they say first, the pump was not a BMW pump (it was, my mechanic actually bought the part from the dealer!!). Then dealer said it was on backwards.. PLEASE!!! They had my car a week and I asked if they diagnosed the problem. They said no but they replaced fuel pump AND fuel tank. 3 weeks later I am driving on Route 17 South Middle lane, 60 miles an hour, traffic all around, and YES fuel pump light and car shuts down!!! I swerved and was able to get the car to safety. LUCKY 3 times!!! BMW has a serious problem with fuel pump. Today the car is at the dealer. I logged a formal complaint, a Liability complaint with BMW 3 weeks ago and again this week. This is a serious matter. This car is a DEATH trap!!! Today I received a call from Corporate stating that they will Not pursue this matter in any form!! Can you believe this?? BMW needs to accept responsibility on this. I was told by a lawyer that if I was hurt or was killed I would have a case. I will not wait until there is a fatality. We need to do something now. Please anyone with fuel pump issues, please contact me. I am relentless and will have BMW accept their responsibility.

$1200 seems to be the benchmark for service at BMW. Funny how another BMW owner in a conversation in the service department said the same. Im guessing this is the goal quota. It would be interesting to know how many others might coincidentally be sharing the same experience. Always friendly but always something else. Last visit I was told about an early oil leak that I would need to address probably on the next visit. Today was next visit and it was not mentioned. Quota was met with 800 dollar rear brakes and 425 spark plugs. This is the third visit in the last 12 months maybe and each 1200-1400. I wont be driving another BMW. On July 29, 2010, I purchased a 2010 BMW 3 Series 328xi at BMW of Orland Park. The purchase included a balance of factory warranty for four years or 50,000 miles on all parts. The air conditioning was blowing warm air when the controls were set to cool and I took my car to the service department on May 18, 2013. The service department rep said the refrigerant was low, there were no leaks found and that he will evacuate and recharge the system. He also said dye will be added to help determine the location of the leak. The system was then blowing cool. I had no reason to suspect that the service department was not working in good faith to resolve the problem. The air conditioner was blowing warm air when the controls were set to cool again and I took my car to the service department on May 23, 2014. The service department rep said the refrigerant was low, there were no leaks found and that he will evacuate and recharge the system. I requested that the air conditioner system is repaired or replaced. He also said it is difficult to do diagnostics for a refrigerant leak and that an oil will be added to help determine the location of the leak. The system was then blowing cool and I was charged $209.19. I had no reason to suspect that the service department was not working in good faith to resolve the problem. The air conditioner was blowing warm air when the controls were set to cool again and I took my car to the service department on March 31, 2015. I explained to the service department rep named, Craig, that I am not willing to pay for diagnostics, evacuation and a refrigerant recharge again. I requested that the air conditioner system is repaired or replaced. I also requested that BMW, at the minimum, assist with the cost since the warranty was still active and not utilized at the initial appointment when I reported the air conditioner not working properly. I entered a caveat beneath my signature on the work order that I only agree to have the air conditioner system reviewed for subsequent repair and/or replacement. I told Craig at least four times during the consultation, I do not want to pay for an evacuation and recharge procedure.Craig told me the AC condenser could be damaged from a rock, so hell have to check out the whole system anyway, especially since its out of warranty. I explained to Craig that since the car was not out of warranty the previous two times I reported the issue, some consideration should be given to me as a customer. Craig said he will check with BMW and see if they will help pay as a good-will gesture. He said BMW would probably pay 85% of the cost. I told Craig that I am a single small woman who is financially alone and that I cannot afford to pay $300 every year for diagnostics, evacuation and a refrigerant recharge because I do plan to keep the car. I am planning to retire within the next five years and this is not in my budgetary agenda. Also, I explained if I were to pay $300 every year for the next five years, I would have paid to have the air conditioner system replaced.Craig responded by saying that he was not independently wealthy either. So I left my car with the understanding that every effort would be made to determine how the air conditioner system would be repaired and/or replaced. Craig called me on March 31, 2015 and asked for my permission to keep my car for another day. He said, they couldnt find anything wrong with the air conditioner system and will continue to try to find the problem. I agreed.Craig called me on April 1, 2015 and again asked for my permission to keep my car for another day. He said, they couldnt find anything wrong with the air conditioner system and will continue to try to find the problem. I sighed and he said, and I quote, Hey, Im trying to help you out. Were checking out the evaporator coil and trying to see if its the factory. Even though his tone was unprofessional, I agreed. It was at this conversation I began to suspect that he was not working in good faith to resolve the problem and that there is no recourse for me.Craig called me on April 2, 2015 and said he couldnt find anything wrong with the air conditioner system or any leaks. I asked him if an evacuation and refrigerant recharge was done and he said yes. He did exactly what I asked not to be done. I told him I was not pleased that this issue was not resolved as I requested. He said he did me a favor because he charged me for only one unit of refrigerant and he put in two units. When I asked why cant the system be repaired or replaced, he said they dont know what part to repair or replace. I am so discouraged and angry that I was not given a more intelligent explanation. BMW can build machines for which they cannot repair? He said he will notate on the invoice, that next time, I will not have to pay for the diagnostics. He said maybe next time Ill get a convertible for the loaner car.Craig suggested that I pick up my car in the morning because traffic was heavy on La Grange Road that time of the evening and he wont be there. I dont use La Grange Road to travel to Ziegler BMW and I wasnt interested to seeing him considering my disappointment to the way this issue was handled. So I picked up my car within 45 minutes after being notified to do so. When I got into my car, it stunk like cigarette smoke and sweat. I was provided a loaner car in the interim. The loaner/rental car agreement for a temporary substitute vehicle indicates, No smoking or a $250.00 fine will be charged. A copy of my credit card was obtained to ensure payment should I breach the no smoking policy. However, I am not being compensated to have my car deodorized. In summation, I am extremely saddened to be treated with such disrespect and callousness. I purchased a BMW because I need a reliable car. I also chose BMW because I suspected that I would receive the kind of customer service that would equate with the kind of product I purchased. I am extremely upset and dissatisfied about this issue. I feel very uncomfortable to use BMW for any of my automotive needs. However, I am still interested receiving a satisfactory remedy from BMW as previously requested.

Leased a 2013 328xi, brand new, off the lot! Loved the car for the first six months until I was driving one day and the car shut off while driving down a back road. An error code read on the screen, so I called BMW. They manually reset the code, car started right up and drove home. I didnt think anything of it until a month later, Im driving 70 miles on the highway and the car shuts off again! Called BMW and drove the car directly to the dealership. They had the car for a week and couldnt replicate the issue and blamed it on the cold winter we were having even though the car is garaged. Fast-forward another 3 months.. Its spring, warm outside and car shuts down again driving on the highway. This time, almost got into an accident and since I was close to the dealership, drove right there. I refused to take the car back until they figured out the cause, and cold weather wasnt to blame. They had the car almost a full month and couldnt replicate the issue. They claim that there was a loose rear distribution box and fuel pump. Three weeks later, car is back in for check engine light. I get the car back but called corporate BMW and got a complete runaround. Three times in one year the car shuts off, COMPLETELY UNSAFE! After a month of going back and forth with a resolution specialist, BMW refuses to terminate the lease and offers a credit for money toward the lease. NOT ACCEPTABLE!! Still trying to climb the corporate ladder and find someone to speak to. What happens if the next shut off cause an accident?? They dont care, no customer service, and no regard for safety. They say you get what you pay for, well apparently not in this case.

I purchased my dream car 4 years ago. I was so excited but then for the last 3 yrs, I have been taking my 645ci to BMW of Annapolis complaining about my transmission. Each time, they told me they couldnt duplicate the problem but took care of other issues. I had a 3rd party warranty that they charged close to $14,000. Not once could they diagnose the problems with transmission. The last few times I took it, the transmission malfunction light was on. One of the service advisers even saw it. But again I was told they couldnt duplicate the problem. In May 2017, I again took it there since my light came on again. They had my car for weeks, but I was told to pick up the car. They couldnt duplicate the problem. A few weeks later, my car would not go in reverse and the transmission light came on again. I called and spoke to the Service Manager Steve **. He told me to bring it to him and they will take a look at it. Well, my husband was able to get it there and told him that the car would not go into reverse, reminded them that I just had it there for the transmission issue and showed picture of the transmission light. Once again, I was told they couldnt duplicate the problem. Their foreman sent me an email stating he reviewed all my previous complaints (which a documented in email) and stated they couldnt duplicate the problem, but that I needed a new transmission shifter selector lever ($1,500) but couldnt guarantee that would take care of the problem. Also stated in email that he notice they showed a pattern of low voltage issues (which I never was told before). My warranty expired the beginning of this year (due to time on mileage). Not once was I informed of the low voltage issues and nothing was ever done about my complaints of the transmission. This would have all been covered but now it is not. I contacted the corporate office, Group 1 Auto. They are the owners of BMW of Annapolis. I received a call from Steve ** from their office. I had him on a conference call with my husband so he could explain our issues. While my husband talked to him, Mr. ** snickered several times while my husband was talking. My husband asked if they was laughing at him. I found the snickering very rude. All I wanted was some kind of resolution with my car. I wanted to know why the transmission light kept coming on (both my husband & I have had problems with the shifting or slipping of the transmission). We were never given an answer. I didnt want to put $1,500 into the car and that not be the problem. I wanted answers. Instead I got we need the loaner car back and Do you want us to put in shifter? Well it turns out Steve ** was at the BMW service department. He told us on the phone we need the loaner back and we will not do any work on your car so please take it to a different BMW service department. I have never in my life been treated in this manner. They couldnt figure out the problem and instead of calling the Corporate Team (which I found out BMW has to figure out problems like this), they wouldnt work with us.My husband ended up getting the car (with no reverse), and noticed damage to the dashboard and curb straps (that were not there when car dropped off). He also had to call the police in order to get the information on who actually worked on our car (test drove it and tried to diagnosis) since BMW would not give him that information. Now I am without a working car, a broken dashboard and still do not know what is wrong with the transmission. I dont understand how it got to this point. Why were the experts not called when they couldnt duplicate the problem. Especially when I told them I was having problems in 2014? This could have been avoided had they taken the extra steps. I understand parts need to be replaced, but I feel it was never diagnosed properly. I am in total disgust. This has given BMW a bad name.

My wife bought a used BMW X3 2014 with about 35M miles on it. After a couple oil changes and 42M miles the engine had a drivetrain fault and BMW said it was a computer issue and we needed to pay to update our program. A month later we got another drivetrain malfunction fault but this time the oil pump quit on the way to the dealership and the engine seized up. BMW insists this is not their fault and they have no liability.

I owned a 2000 BMW 323ci coupe that I purchased back in 2004. The car had only 13,000 miles on it and was optioned with every accessory available. I purchased the car from a private seller for $21,000 which I though was a steal since the car cost $43,000 new. The car looked flawless and drove as new; it still smelled new inside. I struck a deal and the BMW was mine. I felt as a BMW owner that was above most people now on the road and I changed my driving style to prove that I was now someone to be very envious of because I was to be respected driving a BMW. That claim to fame ended a few months later when the transmission failed on my BMW as I was shifting from reverse to drive. I couldnt believe it! How could this happen to a car with only 20,000 miles on it?!?! And a BMW for that matter. The cost to replace the transmission was $6,000!!!! That stung badly! In the coming years I also experienced very costly repairs ranging from HVAC issues, electrical problems, fuel issues, power steering failure, brake problems, a fractured subframe, cooling problems, Harman Kondom speakers rattling the interior when playing heavy bass music, broken and leaky sunroof, interior trim falling off, squeaks and rattles in seats and dashboard, popping steering wheel, cruise control failure, HID headlight burnout and I rarely drove in the dark, leaky trunk, power window motors failing, front turn signal housings getting wet inside and causing shorts. The cost of repairs on this hunk of junk amounted to over 15,000 dollars!!!!!!! All on a car with less than 100,000 miles! How horrible is that?! I had to sell my precious BMW for a mere $4,000 in 2009. What a piece of junk! Now I know why the original owner sold this crappy car and was driving a new Lexus sedan. I ended up buying a used 2006 Honda Civic Si that has been 100% trouble free and now has 183,000 miles on it. Im still reeling from my horrible BMW experience! I realize now that I was a pretentious fool thinking that driving a BMW was going to make me noticed and important on the road. Boy, was I wrong! DO NOT BUY A BMW!!!

If you are in the market for a BMW, please take your business elsewhere. I just got a 2017 BMW X5 3 days ago and I already regret it, the car is equipped with Apple Carplay but in order for me to access and pair my Iphone, I need to pay $300.00 for 240 months (20 years) and if I decide to buy another BMW, Ill have to pay again because you cant transfer the subscription. I call customer service to get more information just to find out the 2 customer service reps. are bosses and wont listen to you. Soon as I ask WHY they both told me that they wont give me the service for free like I was asking for it, I asked Why, WHY the fee???? beware!

First, Id like to say that this Driving Experience has been the worst experience on my end. This letter is to notify you BMWNA as the manufacturer that my vehicle is once again at Fort Lauderdale BMW for the fourth time, and I will allow one more repair before my attorneys proceed with the Lemon Law of Florida State. I will also like to ask if anyone at BMWNA has any kind of consideration to at least prorate my monthly charge because of my reoccurring issues with my car. I believe thats just right being that I have to waste money, time and mostly time in traffic and off work because of this issue. Im a very unhappy customer and I will say this now and forever, I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER BMW! And everyone that I get a chance or would like to get to hear my horrible experience with BMW I will be glad to tell them of my long stressful/humiliated days. My time with BMW has been enjoying all the loaners that I have acquired since my time with BMW. I really dont know, but BMWNA keeps telling me that they have traded me out of the car twice already so they cant help me in anyway but I dont think its right for me to pay close to $1700 monthly for my car to be in the repair shop constantly. The information in red is of the lady that communicated with me that BMW OF NA cannot help me anymore, when I was having my issues with 2013 328i that the alignment was bad and BMW of Coconut Creek could not fix it. I ask for BMWNA to allow me to trade out of it because of on going issues and Margaret ** I guess said OK but its not like they give me money the first and I still carry the negative equity. Then I got into a Certified New 2011 M3 which had issues from the start. You check all service records on that 2011 M3. They changed parts and I would say out of the 9 months I was on the contract, it was in the shop 4 months. The vehicle had a stalling issue that could not be duplicated but yet parts were changed within the 3 service centers I visited. Coconut Creek BMW, Pompano Beach BMW, and Braman Bmw of Palm Beach. I got loaners so frequently that my phone would automatically sync to the Bluetooth system. Because of my numerous times at service and Margaret ** Certifying that the car would work as intended, it happened again. She first gave $1500 and the trade of my car for a certified used or new car. I said that wasnt enough because at the dealerships I went to they said the bank couldnt allow me to get in to a less expensive car so they then gave me $3500 which I thought was still a low amount being that the BMW stores could not help much so now I have a HIGHER PAYMENT WITH A CAR NOT OF MY CHOICE BUT AN EXECUTIVE DEMO, that the BMW Bank allowed me to get into because of my negative equity on the M3. But I never wanted to get rid of M3, the car was in the shop month after month and I just wouldve thought that since I was going through this issues they would have some sort of consideration and put me into the same car for the same price and not a $100,000 car not of my choice. I just want to say that when I do get the chance to leave BMW of North America I will leave running and never look back!!!BMW of North America has no consideration for your customers. I mean Im not lying of the repairs because they have my service records. I have my service records on this new 650 xDrive. This has been the worst experience and can guarantee you that I will never encourage anyone to buy a BMW and will never get myself into this mess again. Thanks but no thanks.

My 2004 BMW 525 headlights have completely hazed over. I have tried several aftermarket products for headlight lens restoration. This has not worked or even made them marginally clearer. My dealer service person believes that the lenses were made of a lower quality plastic in this time frame compared to newer models. The only repair is to replace the whole headlight assemblies at $2,000 each. The Customer Relations person at BMW USA cheerfully took the complaint and said that nothing would be done. We are on our own. It is always nice to see a company stand behind a poor engineering decision, which is widely known within the company.

Im owner of BMW X6 5,0 Xdrive (2009). I bought this car like a new one. This is my third BMW. After 63 000km BMW service-car repair-a new engine. Because the car big, oil losses. After this repair many times Engine Fault on my board computer BMW X6. After Engine Fault a complete loss of power. Very danger! Every time in BMW service they told me... Dont worry.. we will repair it. After BMW service -car repair - a new both turbo there - but next ENGINE FAULT, BMW service-car repair- a new injections there - but next ENGINE FAULT, BMW service-car repair- a new cylinders, but next ENGINE FAULT, BMW service-car repair-a new injections again, but next ENGINE FAULT. BMW service-car repair-fuel pump, but next ENGINE FAULT... BMW service-car repair both catalysts and more other parts... but ENGINE FAULT.. is still again and again there! The inappropriate condition of the car (BMW X6 5,0 xi) has several times put not only the lives of my family and me at risk but threatened also the lives of other drivers on the road. All these extremely risky situations were caused by repeated errors in the engine when in use followed by a complete loss of power. Dont buy BMW, if you love your life and your family!

My 2005 645 CI is as awesome as it is a nightmare. It drives great, it looks great but I have had problems with the convertible top since I bought the vehicle. While driving with the top closed, a warning comes on: convertible top not locked. At this point the convertible top and the rear window cannot be operated, and if the rear window was open at the time that the warning came on, such window is stuck in the open position. At times such warning disappears while I continue driving a few moments or a few miles, at times it disappears after the engine has been shut down, and at times it continues to stay on until the problem is fixed by the dealer. The car has been at the dealer for this reason more than 15 times, the rotation sensors have been changed three times and they have been re-adjusted and/or re-positioned the other times. In 2010, I wrote about such problem to the management of the local dealer, as well as to BMW USA. The malfunction continues to happen, regardless. I just got back the vehicle from the dealer 2 days ago (beginning of August 2012), still for the same reason. I am reaching the point where if the problem re-occurs, I am going to dump my loved/hated car.

I sent an e-mail to BMW Customer Service/Relations ([email protected]) including a couple of pictures of my X5. Searching on the web it is clear this issue is present on these model year cars. Today, I was contacted by RuthAnn, BMW Customer Representative, and she basically stated that all they can do is to log a complaint. My 2002 X5 is well over the 4 years/50,000 miles warranty and there is nothing that BMW can do. I explained that this was clearly defective workmanship on the part of BMW given the amount of problems on these model years, but she stated this issue was due to the elements and I should take my car to the dealer to make an assessment of the problem. However, even if the dealer determines it is due to a bad paint job from BMW, there is nothing BMW can do since the car is out of warranty. I tried to explain that I have had cars from Ford and Nissan older than my X5 and they never presented a paint peeling problem. Yet, here I have a luxury car with less years than my old cars where the paint work is peeling away with no warranty coverage. No response there. At the end all I was able to get is to have the complaint logged and be disappointed by BMW once again.

Im a BMW lover and now owner of a 328xi series. I wouldnt have ever thought that I would become a lover of BMW knowing my dream was to have a drop top four door Lexus. But once my husband brought me to your curious dealership to test drive one of your 3 series model, I was sold. The car drove like it knew me and the sales associate made my drive easier by informing me about the developed and smart function on the vehicle. I was impressed and sold. I went home cooking and buyer way into my husband heart to get that 328xi. I guess it worked because the next week I drove my new man home. I loved my car until after driving it for four months. I’ve been to the Oyster Bay Dealership three times due to the malfunction sign that continues to show up on my dash board. I drove around stopping female BMW owner wondering if the malfunction sign appears on their dash any time they place their bag down, and they informed me that it does occur. I was so disappointed to hear this. I went online and noticed that BMW is # 6, in the top driven car selected by woman at 60.31 percent. I was also shocked to see that too. I think BMW is a great car for woman considering its sex appeal and the smart and easy functions. But now I understand why this is true. The car insides arent accessible for woman. Women need car that is enjoyable on the inside. Many women also work, manage to take of our kids and would like to be sexy at the same time. Its very disappointing when you have everything you want except what you need. Women are go getter too and we are growing every day. If you do a survey within your company and ask the men to ask their wifes where they place their hand bags, Im sure they would say on the front seat. Women have grown to be great consumers in the world now. We like to buy what we like. Studies show that one legacy of this recession is that women become a majority of the work force for the first time in American history. This information should give you more insight on how important it is to please a woman, will do whatever it take to feel complete and to be happy. Im writing to you today not only to complain, but to express the inconvenience it is for me to drive from Canarsie in Brooklyn to Oyster Bay, Long Island about 3 times out of four months to correct this malfunction issue. I continually think each time I get in the car, if something is wrong and is this car safe to drive God forbids if an accident occurs. Im very understanding the first time but the third time, I was in tears because I started to believe I received a used car, not an off the showroom car. Please believe that it wasnt easy for me to write this letter because Im a woman of patience. But it’s not easy for a married woman with children that has three jobs then have to drop what Im doing or take off from work to drive nearly an hour away just to get this problem fixed. I understand that your job is to deliver a car that make sense, drive smoothly, have a sleet look, economy friendly and safe. I must say BMW has all of those qualities except the nice accessory for a womans hand bag, preferably a hook on the side that slide in or out that we can place our hand bags. I believe this will bring your company in first place on the charts where it belongs and make us women a little happier. Thank you.

As an adult, I bought my first Honda in 2005. It was a brand new top of the line Honda Accord. Since I purchased it I had many issues but Honda fixed it once I was put in contact with the regional manger by giving me a brand new 2008 Honda Accord that matched the one I had purchased in 2005. I only mention that before I begin my story regarding the purchase of the two BMWs that have been a NIGHTMARE.My history with BMW is very lengthy but I am going to try and condense the issues to keep it simple. As a child always dreamt of owning a BMW, and once I was financially able to do so I went ahead and invested in what I thought was the Ultimate Driving Machine. So my childhood dream is and has been nothing less than a Horror Story. In 2010 I purchased a Brand New 2010 X5 with 10 miles on the odometer. I was thrilled to say the least. I didnt have the car 3 weeks before there was a Jack Hammer sound coming from the vehicle, took it to the nearest BMW dealer and was told that a screw came out the bottom and the pan was loose underneath. Soon after that, I kept taking it in because of a pungent Sulfur Smell, unlike a Rotten Egg smell, that is usually due to the catalytic converter, which was of the issues I had with my Honda. The dealer then proceeds to take out the mats in the front and back and actually cut out part of the floor mats and replaced it with some other material and told me that was the reason for the smell. Well that was not the reason because the smell never went away.Keep in mind that this smell was emitting since I initially bought the car. Moving forward, I made enough complaints to BMW NA and finally got them to send an Engineer to take the car apart and see what the problem could possibly be. After being given the runaround by the first so called Specialist, I received a call from her Supervisor, after making numerous complaints, and he was rude and very disrespectful. He told me that the reason why the smell was emitting from my car was because I kept laundry detergents in the trunk and there were traces of tobacco in the car. Now first of all thats a bunch of BS and secondly the smell was strong when the car was new, so how do you explain that. He was so rude and disrespectful in the way he spoke to me, he even hung up the phone on me. It was not a disconnection, it was a direct hang up.I have been hospitalized 3 times for 5 days or more for internal pain in my stomach and the Drs. could not find any reason why I was in such pain and constantly throwing up. I kept telling them that I was constantly ingesting a pungent sulfur smell from the car. My hematologist finally said that I may have been getting ill because of the smell. The car has been in and out the shop for so many things, burnt out internal light from rear passenger mirror, water in the panel where the back light, check engine light, car not accelerating, and then taking off like a jet, almost causing several accidents. The list goes on and on. In December of 2013 in the height of Christmas shopping season when the traffic is heavy and thick, I finally had enough of the BS when the car totally just stopped in the middle of the highway, while cars and tractor trailers almost slammed into me about 5 times, because the car would not drive more than 20 miles an hour. The story goes further than that. But now I was sort of in duress and since they werent trying to acknowledge that they sold me a lemon that has jeopardized me and my family since I bought it, I figured I would get rid of that and buy a CPO just in order to not fight any longer or lose any equity that I had already invested. WHAT A MISTAKE. Vehicle #2 is a 2012 CPO X5 that I got in December of 2013 that has been in the shop more than 10 times and has been there for over a week now as I write this letter.I wrote everyone in BMW, even the owner, his secretary, his Press Secretary and his Assistant. Till this very day, I have not even received an Acknowledgement that they even received my letter. But I know they did because I got a confirmation that it was received. So, although their information is hard to get over the internet, I did my research and got it. So if anyone needs the Email to the President of BMW and his team, you can email me and I will gladly provide it to you.Bottom Line, like many people have stated here, BMW is not living up to their Brand and they need to acknowledge everyones investment into their Brand, not just the elite or a chosen few. As the saying goes: Hey You Never Know and I say this to any BMW executive that you never ever know who you are dealing with no matter how big or small. Its the little people that make the big people. Remember that.

I have a 2007 BMW 335 with 68,000. I took it to the dealer and came up with $3600 repairs. How can a reputable car manufacturer produce cars that have an oil leak and to repair it, you need to remove the casket of the engine for a car with such a low mileage? I am saying goodbye to BMWs. Their official dealer garage shop is clearly stating that their cars cannot compete with those of other manufacturers such as Lexus where one can go up to 100,000 miles without any major repair.

While headed to vacation from New Jersey to Canada, our BMW 328i xDrive beg
While headed to vacation from New Jersey to Canada, our BMW 328i xDrive began to experience a tapping sound from the engine and shortly thereafter, the check engine light lit up, at which point we used the BMW Assist feature for advice and to locate the nearest BMW Dealer. Explaining our situation to the BMW Representative, we asked for the nearest BMW dealer. Unfortunately they were over a hundred miles away, but the BMW representative informed us that we could continue to drive the vehicle with the service engine light on indefinitely as long as it wasnt red or flashing. We thanked her and proceeded on our journey. A couple of hours later, the tapping turned into a knocking sound and we again used the BMW Assist feature who located a dealer in Rochester, NY. She proceeded to place a 3-way call and remained in the background to listen. We were informed from the dealer that they could not get us in, but he reiterated that we could continue to drive the vehicle with the service engine light on indefinitely as long as it wasnt red or flashing. We continued into Canada, checked into a hotel, and parked the car for the night, searching the internet to locate the closest dealer which turned out to be Performance BMW in St. Catherines Ontario. We brought the car to Performance BMW in St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada in the hopes that they could have a look to diagnose the problem.Tanya ** was very understanding and sympathetic to our situation and she got our car right into a bay for diagnosis. We sat patiently for almost 2 hours until we were informed that it is taking longer to figure out the problem, and that BMW uses Enterprise Rental rather than loaner BMWs and we were put into a Hyundai Sonata, which is NOWHERE near a comparable vehicle to what I have purchased. After returning to the dealer to get the remainder of our luggage, Tanya informed us that as soon as they have a diagnosis, they would contact us.We returned to the dealer the following day hoping to get the car, and continue our vacation to New Hampshire, when we were informed that the main bearing of the crankshaft was the problem, and that the parts have to be ordered from Germany, which would take anywhere from 3-6 weeks plus the time needed to put everything back together. We were advised that Performance BMW could only cover the rental for the end of the day (second day) and that we would have to cover the remaining rental time, and then submit our expenses as part of the trip interruption clause, but there is no guarantee that it will be reimbursed. We have made several attempts to contact BMW North America. All we have been told is that until we have our vehicle back & submit our expenses, BMW North America will take the expenses under consideration for reimbursement. This is unacceptable.BMW of Mt. Laurel (purchasing dealer), indicated that if we had brought our car there for repairs, we would have received a loaner car until our vehicle was complete; and Performance BMW indicated that if we had purchased the vehicle in Canada, and brought it there for repairs, we would have received a loaner car until our vehicle was complete; but since a foreign dealer is working on a foreign car, neither dealer wants to cover the cost of the BMW loaner vehicle that we are entitled to let alone figure how to get it back to us.Once the car has been repaired and everything is in working order, we now have a new problem. We already took our vacation, now we have to take time off work to get our vehicle that failed. In addition, we now have a new car that had to have its engine rebuilt with less than 30,000 miles...not only will it affect our comfort level in this vehicle (do we take it on a trip, will it break down, what will it cost, etc.) but now we feel that this will affect the trade-in value of the car. I have spoken w/ several service advisers and sales personnel all said that this engine issue is not at all common, and the work will not affect the value of the car. However, I do not believe that is an accurate statement. There has to be something that can/will be done by BMW to correct this issue. At this point, I feel that BMW should replace the vehicle w/ a comparable BMW. If your resolve of this matter is not to our satisfaction, we will have no other choice but to leave the BMW and purchase a better quality luxury vehicle.

I got a brand new 2022 X5 on Dec 22, 2021. After just 1000km drive, the engine light turned on and my car has been in dealership since 5 days ago. Such a frustrating experience with BMW. Perhaps other German competitors are more reliable. I wish I had not gotten a car from BMW.

My transmission needed a $3000 part which had been replaced less than 2 yea
My transmission needed a $3000 part which had been replaced less than 2 years earlier near San Diego, CA. BMWs warranty for parts purchased from their dealerships has a 2-year part and labor warranty. The part was replaced at Ontario BMW (now Penske) of Southern California under warranty free as confirmed by the customer service manager named Gary at Ontario BMW. And after the repair in a very unexpected manner, the BMW reps at BMW of North America rejected the repair because the repair was not done at the San Diego BMW dealer where the original repair was performed. The possible caveat that the transmission parts be replaced at the original part of service was never mentioned to me by any of BMWs official agents and representatives. The car is now fixed. And because it was not done in the original dealership in San Diego, they literally want to dismantle my BMWs transmission (basically redamage it) and make me pay for towing to San Diego to redo the repair. Not only does this make no financial $$ sense for me or even for BMWs own dealership, but its a poor and senseless, useless decision that violates BMWs own warranty policies. Please intervene and quickly shut this case in our favor since my request is beneficial for all sides involved. The warranty was honored as stated by BMWs agents and since no one at BMW knew of this hidden caveat, it makes no sense since my BMW broke down in Ontario, California. Thanks!

I am overly wrought about my purchase of a 1994 BMW (purchased in 2003 with only 62,000 miles). It now has 132,000 miles on it. The following has happened in the last three years: the transmission went out, air conditioning went out, SRS system is down, radiator went out (2 times), $2,000 of leaks, and lumbar adjustment (both seats) broken.

This my 2nd BMW that I have owned. One was a 1999 530i, and now I have a 2011 535i. My issues are with the interior and water leaks. I feel that both are BMW problems and should be fixed at their expense. The water leaks are from the moisture barrier within the doors. You would think that with the technology today this would not be an issue.Yet here I am knee deep in water in my back floorboard. I have owned several different cars that were much older and never had a leak anywhere. I do not understand how BMW can claim this is the Ultimate driving machine. My interior issue is with the driver door grab. It is made with some kind of soft material. The problem is it melts due to the extreme heat. Living in the South, we have very hot summers. I do use sunscreens. However it doesnt help. I had to remove the material and now I am left with an ugly looking door grab. Needless to say I am out of pocket for these fixes, Both problems I believe are manufacturer defects. My local BMW service center is in agreement with my reasoning. However BMW wont fix anything. My next Ultimate driving machine wont be a BMW.
