They sold a car that I returned with my car tracker unit. Since July 2011 they keep on telling that they will tell the current owner to bring the car so that they can remove it and get it fitted in my new car. Till today, they are not giving me back my tracker unit. What is frustrating is that they dont want to tell me the truth or maybe they lost it. I dont know, I just keep on waiting for them.

4 weeks ago, on 5/8/12, I brought my car in for service. The check engine light came on. It was in for 3 days to replace fuel injection system. I got it out and 4 days later the check engine light came back on. I brought my car back to the dealer on 5/15/12 and it has been in there ever since until this day. It is still in there and today is 6/1/12. I am getting the run-around. They have been trying different things to fix the problem and still have not fixed it. They wouldnt even provide me with a loaner. I have been paying out of pocket for a rental car going on 3 weeks now and they won’t even reimburse me for that when they test drive my car, put mileage on my car and burn up my gas. I strongly feel this car is a lemon.Instead of them saying its a lemon, they want to spend countless hours and weeks trying to fix a car they dont know how to fix for 3 weeks now. I am so angry. I dont know what else to do. They are not helping me to my satisfaction at all. All they keep telling me is they are working on it. Its been almost 3 weeks now. Enough is enough now. They keep taking apart my car and putting it back together to the point that I dont want the car because I dont think I’ll be or feel safe in it. My car is in Union Park BMW in Wilmington, DE 19806. BMW needs to buy this car back so I can move on with my life. It does not take this long to fix any car - not 3 weeks!

I purchased a BMW-X1 series from Sanghi Classic (BMW showroom) at Jaipur on 16/8/12. Now its total running kilometer is 14,214 km till date. But after that, we found that my vehicle is not running properly - On speed of 100 km, my vehicle trembles automatically which may cause serious accident at any time. We have a Honda CRV for the last 5 years and have changed the tires of the vehicle, and now, after running for more than 100,000 km, there is no damage in any of the tires. But in just running for 14,214 km of the BMW vehicle, we found that the condition of the tire is worst from the inside and in a very worst condition and is very risky to drive or travel. So please look in to the matter and replace the same with a new one. Thanks and regards.

I bought Blizzak winter tires from Bridgestone for the 2 time in 3 years. This last time I had an issue with one of the tire after 3 weeks. It was deflating. I stopped at the BMW garage in Oakville and they had to replace my tire. I wrote to Bridgestone from their website. They never got my request and realized when I called that did not even know where the web inquiries went!!! They basically wash their hands of any support. You spend $3,000 in tires in 3 years and they wont stand behind their products for $300!!! I will never buy any Bridgestone tires again, not because of their products but because of the lack of vision and consumer care from the company. I gave them an 8 on 10 for their products but a 1 on 10 for their consumer care service.

I have finally decided to share this with all so that everyone who owns a BMW i8 understands what can happen! The purpose of me sharing this with you is that The Ultimate Driving Machine did not turn out to be ultimate for us! This was a very traumatic experience for us. My daughter and I still have nightmares about it. Thank God my daughter and I got out of the car in time before it bursted into flames. Please note this car is not even a year old and less than 7000 miles! The worst part was I was scared and panicked as I could not open the wing door. This happened on September 2nd 2017!

In 2014 I decided I wanted to drive the ultimate driving machine. What a mistake. I asked my cousin who works at a dealership to locate something for me. In June 2014 I purchased my 2011 BMW 328i xdrive SULEV with 29k. I purchased extended warranty and Gap insurance for slightly over $30,000. I realized I overpaid but I was okay with it because I really wanted this vehicle. A few months into it my car began shaking violently and had a very rough idle. I had to replace spark plugs and coils. A few months after that it started having electrical problems. The car would turn off the heat, ac, radio, and lights. I had to replace an electrical module at 45k. I contacted BMW and they offered to pay 95%. I was satisfied until another few months went by and my car kept stalling, launching itself into traffic, shutting off and turning back on while I was on the highway, and wouldnt keep momentum. Turns out the fuel line broke off in my tank and I needed to replace the fuel tank at 50k. I called BMW again and they offered to replace it with only $250 out of my pocket... At this point I decided this car is a nightmare and I wanted out. Too upside down to replace it I decided Ive replaced enough and it should be good to go for a few years. NOW its idling rough again, hesitating to move and shaking violently once again. BMW offered me a $1,000 loyalty to trade out but dealerships are only offering $15,000 and I owe $26,000. For the age and mileage of this vehicle I should not have had it in the shop more than 5 times for serious maintenance. This car is a nightmare!!!! I would NEVER recommend BMW to friends or family members unless they dont mind having it in the shop more than on the road. Between electrical issues, faulty fuel pump/fuel line, coils, and an obnoxious ticking sound I have more of a headache than an ultimate driving machine. Its more like the ultimate pain in the butt. The cigarette lighter has never worked so I cannot plug in a GPS. When I have my ipod or Pandora playing the radio will randomly change the song or shut my music off and default to the radio. It also gets so hot that the radio stops working and says HIGH TEMP. It overheats and wont play music and turns off the AC or the heat randomly. For the price of these vehicles new and pre-owned they should not have THIS many issues. I have less than 65k on it and it constantly fails me. BMW is by far the worst vehicle I have ever owned. If youre considering a luxury brand try Lexus or Infiniti. BMWs are a waste of money!!

A 3 long 1/2 thick sheared and fell out on the driveway. The dealer (Jackie Cooper Imports, OKC) identified it as one of the bolts that bolts the transmission to the engine block. They could not say why it broke and BMW USA refused it as a warranty claim even though the driveline is covered by the CPO extended warranty. In the two years I have owned this car it has had the fuel pump go out, the fuse block melt, the water pump fail, and both catalytic converters fail. The dealer said call it was BMW USA, BMW USA would do nothing other than refer me to the dealer. This is a legitimate warranty claim and they are refusing to cover simply stating that is not covered by the warranty. No explanation, no body to talk to who can do anything about it. The warranty is not worth the paper it is written on. I love their cars, I hate their company. The dealer has been equally useful.

My son and I each purchased a BMW new at the dealer in Jan. 2011. His was a 3 series, mine was a 5. Today he was told he needs a new transmission for $4,800 and he is just at 40,000 miles and three months out of warranty. The dealer said they could not help since it was out of time not miles on the warranty. He never drove it hard, just drove to work and around town, still has same tires. Is there anything he can do? I have purchased five BMWs from this dealer and will not go back if they will not help.

I bought my 2014 X1 with 3800km on it. So far 1) the front end had to be to be replaced, 2) airbag recall, 3) Idle stop stopped working, 4) smell of fuel lingers in the interior, 5) most of the vents are brittle and break, 6) hazard lights switch is broken, replaced and broke again three days later. 7) Rear hatch door unlatches when gremlins want in or out, 8) rear door latch passenger side won’t latch. A door I rarely used.9) Valve cover and gasket replaced with 89000km (55000 miles), 10) Hole in the valve cover, 11) rust coming through under the rear hatch door. Told by Georgian BMW, Service Manager, who never worked in a body shop I was told, nor his manager, This I was told was due to a alteration. Car has never been in an accident, no record of an accident is apparent. BMW Canada told me to get the dealership to take pictures of the rusted area, Georgian BMW refused. (I won’t step foot in that door ever again and make it a point to tell anyone of the troubles I have with both car and dealership.)12) Doors locked with car running, 13) side plastic plate at bottom of door pops off. Had to use $4.00 tube of silicon on a “fine piece of German Engineering”. 14) Front cowl is plastic and broke off while hitting a pothole in the cold... Did I say...plastic front cowl like in the same plastic in the toy cars my Grandchildren play within the bathtub...but obviously more resilient. 15) Intermittent wipers are stuck on one speed. Told by Georgian BMW this was due to an aftermarket windshield. Odd in the corner of the windshield it reads BMW and I had never replaced it from when I bought the car. Funny that whenever I go into a BMW Shop to repair my car, continuously try to sell me a new and improved model of crap.

I looked and my mouth dropped right away. I went back to BMW. My back bumper was smashed and my light was broken. I was gone not even 10 minutes. The manager at BMW was very rude and nasty telling me this did not happen there. And I was responsible to cover the damage. Someone at BMW while in their possession crashed my car. Backed it in and knew I would get in and drive off. I took my car in for internal problems nothing having to do with the body. I did know I had to do a 360. My main concern was that my car was running properly. Not that my car would be smashed. How does that happen? Then for the manager to be so rude and mean to me blaming me like I did that damage. As he walks in he says to me “looks like someone is going to need a new bumper! That is no way to treat nor talk to a customer who just spent money and then having her car damaged from someone at BMW. Unacceptable. No one should have to go through this. Horrible.

After the service was done and the emailed coupons were presented the Service Manager denied and did not apply the coupons. 20% discount was offered on any service done at the dealer. After the service was done, the manager refused to apply the coupon and pointed out the fine print. This coupon is very deceiving as it was very clear that they wanted to get customers pulled into the dealership for service thru this offer, only to turn it down when it was time to pick up the vehicle.

I purchased an R1200 ST in March 2011. The bike was not serviced or registered in my name upon delivery, and came without the spare key. A week later, the clutch gave in. It was only three weeks later before the registration and an agreement to repair the bike were done. After the second wash, scratches appeared on the tank and covers. A long debate and threats ensued to have the bike repaired, with a promise that it would receive priority treatment. A month later, the bike was delivered without keys, service book and the same scratches. The keys were delivered two days later at 02:00 in the morning. Currently, Im trying to locate my service book from the dealer with no response. BMW SA refused to assist me with my original complaint, and now with the service book. The product may be good, but the after-sale service in South Africa is non-existent.

Please will be highly appreciated to have your involvements since I have noticed few serious issues which I felt it is worth highlighting it to you all. Basically, it is really disappointing to see a poor support from Local agent in Sultanate of Oman for BMW. As everyone knows BMW is worldwide class, well known and reliable vehicle. However, due to poor service it leads us to question the quality/performance of the car. The reasons of saying that as below: Whenever you take your car for service or collecting you have to wait 45 min as a minimum even if you have an appointment or ready for collection! A lot of failures and repair is costly as well, so I am not sure is it because of the vehicle not reliable or the mechanics that are available is not qualified to maintain such car? I have noticed several times, we simply receive an estimate asking for replacement, never came across for a simple repair, so is that the direction just simply change and charge for spare parts which are very high with no doubt compared where else? I would kindly request you to investigate and advise accordingly, since I am currently having two BMW: 1) X5, Model 2009, Chasis# WBAFE81039L094909, Engine# 50884258. I stopped taking it for service with agent since Dec 2014 due to the above reasons; and 2) X6, Model 2009, Chasis# WBAFG810X9L280666, Engine# 20794348.

Several months ago BMW sent me a letter to bring my car in to be service for a recalls and/or updates. They returned my car stating they would contact me later to finish the job after a part they needed came in. A few months later they called me to bring my car back in. A week later, I received a call from a service department person saying they broke the engine coil off my car and will have to take the whole engine out now. Im nervous because my car was driving fine before I got the letter and the call to bring my car back in to BMW. The guy who kept communicating with me said hes going on vacation for a week but someone else he named would be taking care of things. No one contacted me about my car. When he returned from vacation he called. He said he was back and they are waiting on a part and when it come in they will pull my engine out.I asked, Will it driving like it was when I bought it in? He replied, It should be better. Im knowing, nothing was wrong with my car. I didnt even know why or what needed updating. He said the mechanic is going on vacation now for a week. A week later he called saying, Im just calling to keep you informed and we have another car engine on the table right now and as soon as we finish with it, were going to put yours on it. My husband is in from Florida and hes asking me how do a car going in for updates end up having the engine pulled out of it? He following up saying, Once they pull your engine it will never drive the same again. Another friend whom is a Director at a college stated they would have to give me a warranty stating if anything happens to my engine they will fix it no matter what the problem is or give me a new car. Im more scared and upset. The following week the service person call me again on Friday saying, Well we finally got your car in and getting ready to work on it and you should have it back by Tuesday or Wednesday. So far they have had my car a month so I drove to BMW when they were closed on that Sunday and across the street from them sit my car with a small plate hanging off the front of it by a wire and parked crooked. Now, Im upset and all trust of the one keeping me informed is all out the window. I called and left him a message about me seeing my car on the other lot. He called back saying they are working on it now and it should be ready by the end of the day. I said to him, Im concerned about my car sitting for weeks and whether it will run right. He told me they ensure whatever parts they put on it for two years. I didnt feel that was good enough.I got a call from him later saying, Your car is ready but in all honesty I just dont feel right giving you back your car without the mechanic driving it for the whole weekend and hes getting ready to put some miles on your car. I said, Well have him drive it on the highway to make sure its driving ok and he said he will. Maybe the mechanic is driving it out of town for the 4th of July.My car is a fully loaded pearl color 750Li xDrive Super Sport Twin Turbo Engine, which I made a payment on in June as it sat on BMW lot due to their mistake. They tried to put me in a 3-Series. I wouldnt take it so they put me in a 5-Series with Sam Swope courtesy vehicle in big bold letters across the back window and had me return it because they sold it, they said. I had it for over three weeks. They put me in a black 5-Series afterwards that is more up to date and I still have it. Basically, BMW has had my car for about 6 weeks and the mechanic still have it at his house right now somewhere.

I bought my 323i in 2002 with 50,000 miles. Ive spent more on unscheduled maintenance and breakdowns in each and every year than I ever spent in the entire 17 years I owned my Honda (which racked up 240,000 virtually trouble-free miles, by the way). Now at a paltry 115,000 miles, the BMW transmission has failed and the car is a total loss due to repair cost. Is there no limit to the level of embarrassment and engineering ineptitude BMW NA will endure before they step up and address just a few of their chronic reliability issues?

My car battery suddenly died on my new 335i 2011. They wanted $195.00 to diagnose the battery and $435.00 (totaling $630.00 for parts, not including labor). What use is a warranty if you have to pay as much to repair it if it was out of warranty? It took them 2 days to diagnose it, and they wanted to keep my car over the weekend. Its not rocket science to replace a dead battery. Its literally a 5 minute job. Im disappointed at the amount of my time that they have wasted. The battery only charges to 10.6 volts (dead cell, faulty product). I have completely lost faith in BMW. I have had transmission problems since 5,000 miles (2nd gear synchro 6MT) that the dealer has failed to replace under warranty. When I purchased the car, it came with 2 bad rims.Heres my current BMW Warranty experience: Did the custom-ordered car come with bad rims? Blame customer. Is the car transmission failing at 5,000 Miles? Blame customer. Does the car battery have dead cells? Blame customer. There is poor communication with customers and lack of communication.

I am not fully sure why BMW thinks they can get away with having faulty engines in over 500K cars for a seven year period but theyre doing it. Now they want me to pay $4600 to fix something they knew was broken? That is utterly ridiculous. How is it that these major car companies can have recall after recall and not be reprimanded or mandated by law to sit a few months or years? Or even have quarterly inspections regarding the quality theyre producing... I was almost killed in a car accident by a semi-truck when my engine stalled on the highway from 70 to 30 mph in under 2 seconds. All I can recall is hearing the screeching of the truck as it fishtailed behind me, not to rear end me. However, I must pay for it? Wow. As a veteran who served over 20+ years, that is a difficult pill to swallow. Whats even worse is how BMW treats you after that.

Hi my name is Kizy **. I am a newlywed and also have a baby on the way. My problem is I bought a BMW 2011 X6 that was under warranty when I purchased it for my wife in 2013. it had a 3 year warranty or 50,000 miles on the car. My problem started on August 18 2014 when the car overheated. I took it to the BMW store in Rochester, Michigan. I was told that the coolant to the turbo needed to be replaced which was fine and I picked up my car two weeks later. On September 2, 2014, I picked up my vehicle and drove it to Costco but as I was leaving Costco, I noticed that my car left a puddle of antifreeze underneath my car, so I ended up having my car towed to the dealer again. They then said they found two leaks in the car and the tank was leaking. They said they repaired the cap. My car was in the shop for over two weeks then I had to have it towed again and it stayed there for another five days!A couple days later, my low coolant light came on so I called the dealer and spoke with the service rep, **. He told me it could be a bubble in the system from when they flushed it out. They handed me a quart of coolant and told me to put it in my car and if the light goes back on, to give them a call because they were busy. So I added a quart of coolant and then a couple days later, my light went back on and because it was a Friday they could not get me in that day so they gave me two more quarts to add to my car. I did not think anything of it so I did as he instructed and added 1 quart more so light would turn off.I went to the movies with my wife and her eyes started itching and we both started to feel sick and nauseous. I was getting upset that my pregnant wife and my future baby were in danger for inhaling coolant! The next day, I called BMW North America and spoke to a lady named Betsy. She advised me to take my car back to the dealer that day and I did. I explained to BMW North America my concerns and how important it is for me to make sure my pregnant wife is safe and healthy!! I explained to everyone at the dealership all my concerns regarding my car and my familys health. On October 24, 2014, I brought my vehicle in for service because of the coolant scent in my vehicle and my car had been burning a quart of oil almost every week. BMW Rochester found that the coolant/antifreeze return lines to the turbo were leaking into the engine and the car was returned to me on November 03, 2014. On November 05, 2014, my wife and I were out and she noticed the scent and told me they did not fix my vehicle because she could still smell it and her eyes were burning again. Her senses and her smell were stronger than mine because she was pregnant. So I called BMW North America and the dealership to explain to them whats going on. I brought my car back into the dealership for this same issue now being the fifth time and I had service reps **, and the head mechanical get into my car so they could smell the coolant I have been trying to get them to fix and also told them how my car had been losing its oil. On November 06, 2014, I brought my car back into the dealership and the head service rep, **, told me coolant was coming in because the bottom pan wasnt treated properly and he was going to make sure that his top serviceman was going to treat it this time. At this time, I was angry and I felt that BMW wasnt taking my case seriously and using my pregnant wife and I as test dummies. They would fix the one problem but not all of them and if it didnt work, they would keep telling me to come back in. I just dont feel like the dealership or BMW cared about our health or safety and they used us as test dummies. On December 12, my reduced power came on and my low coolant came on. I called BMW of Rochester. They told me not to bring my vehicle back into the dealership and refused services and told me to go to Erhard of BMW at 4065 Maple Road Bloomfield Hills to fix my problem. I was really upset that I had to drive an hour and some time to go to the dealer to have my problem fixed! The service guy ** at Erhard told me on December 19, 2014, that there was a coolant leak again coming in my Vehicle from the bottom of my turbo line and the computer needed to be reprogrammed. He also said I needed the spark plugs and intake replaced. I still havent gotten my car back. My biggest concerns are my familys health and safety. Im also concerned of the internal damage and the value of my vehicle depreciating. Im at a loss for words with BMW and the dealership and dont understand why I kept getting the runaround and still do not have my vehicle correctly repaired! The distress this has caused my wife and I has been unnecessary!

I purchased a used 2009 BMW X5 with 9,000 miles two months ago from Coggin BMW in Fort Pierce, FL. Within a few weeks, there was a very strong fuel smell in and around the vehicle. Upon calling the dealership for the 3rd time, we were able to get an appointment 4 days later to have the vehicle looked at. The issue was a fuel leak around the fuel pump flange and melted plastic around the fuel pump electrical wire. This is a very dangerous situation that could have resulted in deadly consequences.I am very disappointed by the lack of urgency on the part of Coggin BMW to resolve this dangerous situation. Most of all, I am appalled at the fact that BMW North America would produce and sell a vehicle that would have this life threatening issue by 9,000 miles. I find it very disturbing that the issue is brushed aside unless there is a fire or catastrophic explosion due to the negligent manner in which BMW made this vehicle. I believe that I am not the only one who expects a company of BMWs stature to be free from serious problems like this, especially with a fairly new automobile. The dealership fixed the fuel leak and melted electrical wire issue but I am not confident that I am safe in this vehicle. I was not told why this problem happened and not sure if and when I will have another serious malfunction that could result in serious consequences. I do not feel safe in the vehicle and I have no confidence that BMW can provide a reliable, safe product. I also dont have confidence in the dealer network to provide a reliable and safe vehicle for me to drive.

We called BMW for 2011 X5 about problems almost every month with engine sign and more. BMWs answer was You didnt buy new BMW and you have 40k miles already so we cannot do anything, sorry. I asked Mr. ** for supervisor, he said, My supervisor (**) will tell you same thing & refused to transfer or provide her contact info. Anyway, we have numerous repairs done under warranty in last 2 years and ongoing... We have driven BMWs for over 20 years & now I can say very clearly Dont get heavy scrap with overloaded, computerized, constantly failing components with BMWs policy to keep making service money without caring for customers at all. In 2014 we owned BMW 2011 X5, 2001 740iL, 2008 335i, 2005 325xi, 2003 X5 & 2003 M3.

I bought a x5 2009 with 36.000 miles. Because I never had good reviews about BMW cars and my wife want this car so much, I bought a extended warranty for $5000. Now the car is 51000 miles and it is leaking oil from the valve cover and is leaking oil from the main seal and needs motor mount. The car is service at BMW. The technician said he was going to have to lower the engine and transmission in order to change the main seal. Also, he said BMW that doesnt leak oil is not a BMW (sarcastic). $2000 job, thanks God I bought the extended warranty. My last car was a 2002 Acura mdx, drove 9 years, put 187,000 miles, never leak any oil and the only money I spent in that car was a tune up I did when the car was around 120.000 miles. My next car will be a Lexus gx460, the real ultimate drive machine!! Bmw is good for the rich people, they lease for 2 years then return and get another one. Bmw cars after 2 years of use, it start to fall apart.

We were unable to turn on the hazard light to alert the other drivers. All we could do was praying that the police will show up before we get hit by other vehicles. BMW of North America has refused to accept any liabilities for the defective battery used to build the X1.

The Front Seat Occupant Protection Mat icon on my 2007 BMW 328XI has been displayed on my dash instrumentation for over a year. I looked up the recalls on this vehicle on www.safecars.org and it indicated that the model was recalled. The summary at the website stated, In the event of a crash the front passenger airbag could be deactivated increasing risk of personal injury.I called BMW Customer Relations to inquire about the recall and the representative informed me that my vehicle VIN number was not part of the recall. He informed me that my vehicle was not in that production run, although it was produced the same year. Therefore my vehicle did not meet the requirements for the recall. I understand that numerous BMW owners have made a similar complaint about their vehicle and recalls are usually initiated in this manner. Regardless of the production time that my vehicle was made, my vehicle has the same defect as the other vehicles and should be replaced by BMW.

I filed for bankruptcy on the 7th of July, 2010. BMW financial services was not listed. I kept the vehicle (certified used, finance purchase in 2007) and continued my monthly payments as per contract which was signed when I purchased the vehicle. After a year out of bankruptcy, this August 2011, I was informed that I do not have any grace period. I have written to BMW and the reply was, the contract can not be changed because of bankruptcy. I am not asking to change the due date which is the 28th of each month, the 8 or 10 days grace period is in question of which I had the advantage of, before and after bankruptcy which helped me to meet my monthly payment. BMW has taken away this grace period. This is terrible in these days when the economy (lack of jobs) is a bad shape. I just have merely a year to pay off on the vehicle. Does BMW care about good customer relationship as they can re-posses the vehicle and sell vehicles more than the owed balance?

I had issue from the start with the front end still never figured out what the noise was coming from. I now have 75,000 miles on it in the garage every night regular maintenance and this year alone problem after problem - Oil pan gasket leak $842+, Valve cover gasket leak $802+. Blower and wires fried replaced $750+, Gasket on the housing for oil filter $800+, Front struts $1450+. These prices are from the dealer that I purchased the car from brand new at @35k - nice loyalty to repeat customers, time to go back to a Honda and not Keeler.

I purchased a 2005 X5 last week that had been in two accidents from BMW of Oyster Bay located in Oyster Bay, Long Island. I traded in my Volvo XC90 towards purchase of the 2005 X5 grey color SUV. I brought the truck to my regular mechanic to get new front tires and my mechanic found and showed me the left and right front axles were shot and it was dangerous to drive the vehicle. So I replaced them, cost me $850 for parts alone plus labor. My mechanic also pointed out it needed lower ball joints and front control arms so I brought it back to the dealer and raised hell, How can you sell me a vehicle with all these problems? They sold me a piece of junk. They sold it to me for $16000 less my trade. I laid out 8402 dollars for the balance due. They are now fixing the vehicle and called me today to let me know they ordered air bag parts. They wont be in until Thursday. Also, I gave them a list of all the problems that have to be fixed. The drivers door has a rattle in it and closes sloppy. The front end is shot. They gave me loaner car while I wait till they fix it. They sold me a lemon.

After driving Mercedes Benz for over 10 years, I wanted something different so I purchased a 2009 BMW X6 50i. I had this vehicle for 3 months already and my vehicle has been to the dealership thrice for major issues, fuel injection, oil leak, and now, something about the damn exhaust or whatever. I have warranty but to be having these issues and my vehicle is at 51k miles makes no sense. The techs have no idea what they are doing because they rely on diagnostic test that don’t tell you everything. I found out that the issue I’m having now was replaced previously. I contacted corporate and told them that if this vehicle is a lemon, I want a replacement vehicle or reimbursement because this makes no sense. Also, they don’t give loaners unless you purchased a vehicle from that dealership. **. I have a rental for over a week and my vehicle is still not fixed. I get a phone call from the dealership tech saying, oh we found more issues. Just fix my damn car so I can move on. I’m already looking to switch out. Don’t buy BMW products, a waste! I didn’t have this issue with Mercedes or any other company.

I leased a 2014 BMW X5 at the end of December 2013. On this vehicle I have had the oil indicator light come on 5 times. Every time the light came on I brought it to the dealership. A service tech would come out, look at the light, open the hood, add oil and then reset the computer in the car and tell me that I am all set to go. The car now has 20,000 miles and on April 19th the oil indicator light came on and an error message displayed on the screen that read drivetrain malfunction. I immediately contacted my dealership as the car had a horrible shake to it and the message indicated to drive the vehicle at low speeds. I brought it in for service on April 21st which was Monday. The dealership contacted me Tuesday telling me that my engine was damaged beyond repair and it was my fault because I had not taken the car in at 10,000 miles. He then told me that the cars computer would have pinged the dealership and then I would have received a phone call to schedule a service. I told him that a call never happened and he searched on his computer and to his surprise the car indeed never pinged them and he agreed I never received the call yet I was setup for that service. He then said the car however pinged them on April 19th for a service but never prior to that validating what I had been telling him the entire time. He said I should have had an indicator light come on and the car should have pinged but he could not find a record of it. I told him that every time the indicator light came on, I brought it in and his service techs came out and took care of it and sent me on my way. I then asked him when I brought it in when the lights came on why did his service techs not know that car needed to stay for service and he replied to me that they were not trained for that, that they were only trained for top offs. I have done everything that I was supposed to do. I always brought the car in when the lights came on yet apparently the dealership doesnt train their service techs to fully understand what the vehicle needs. Now I am left with almost a $1300 monthly payment on a vehicle that has no motor and a dealership that doesnt want to take responsibility.

Bought a 2020 M340i xdrive BMW. The proximity feature of the Idrive have been an issue from the day I picked up the vehicle. On the way home from the dealership the doors would not open using the door handles. Had to use the key fob. On day two I called the BMW genius. He had me reboot the Idrive. This fixed the problem for a short time. The way it stands now, we never know when its going to work. It worked for a couple days recently, only to stop working for the last 2 days. I took it to the dealer when it was not working. When I got to the dealership, it started working when I arrived at the dealership. They checked for error codes. They said there may be issues with the antenna based on the error codes. The order is in for a new antenna. This was on 10/19/2020. Still have not heard anything from the dealership. It is now 10/27/2020. I dont know where the part is coming from, but I had hoped it would be here by now, and I could see if this fixes the problem. Hoping for the best, but I fear this going to be an issue as long as own the vehicle.

I bought a 2007 BMW 550i with 50000 miles on it. So far I have spent almost 2000 in repairs but nothing has really been fixed, my transmission hard shifts between 1 and 2nd same downshifting, it jerks when taking off basically giving you whiplash starting off. Ive had the car reprogrammed twice, all that did was turn my entertainment screen sea green. They say I need a valve body which is a $2000 dollar part inside the transmission which my aftermarket warranty would not cover because they said since its electrical they wont cover it. But the warranty states they cover internal tranny parts which is another rip off these warranty companies. AC compressor failed, water pump failed. Suspension sucks, it shakes. Have bought new tires and like 5 wheel balancings and still vibrates at 60 mph. And the car only has 61000 miles on it right now. This is my second BMW, they both sucked, spent way too much repairing these cars and time wasted. It will be my last BMW and the dealer will not address most of these problems, they recommend getting just a whole new part so 40,00 miles later that part will do the same crap. Fail!

Poor BMW service at Performance BMW in Chapel Hill, NC - When I purchased my pre-owned, certified 2006 325i, I also purchased the extended warranty which ran through to Oct. 31, 2012. Fifteen days after my warranty expired, apparently the bushing on a thrust arm (I am told) popped and was leaking some kind of viscous fluid. I was told it would cost $690.13 to repair which included realigning my car. I had, less than a month ago, purchased four new tires and a realignment to the tune of $1,200. When I complained about this happening 15 days after my warranty expired (and my car only has about 50,000 miles on it) and having just paid for a realignment, I was told they would knock off the $150 realignment and a $50 co-pay. So now I am still having to pay almost $500 for this problem. What a ripoff.I also tried to get my oil and filter changed before my service contract expired, but was not accommodated. I was told by the service rep to see him next time I brought in my car and have asked for this service while my car has been in their shop for almost a week now. Dont know if they will do this for me as they are very unaccommodating. I am still upset about their inability to accommodate me.

Leased a 2013 328xi, brand new, off the lot! Loved the car for the first six months until I was driving one day and the car shut off while driving down a back road. An error code read on the screen, so I called BMW. They manually reset the code, car started right up and drove home. I didnt think anything of it until a month later, Im driving 70 miles on the highway and the car shuts off again! Called BMW and drove the car directly to the dealership. They had the car for a week and couldnt replicate the issue and blamed it on the cold winter we were having even though the car is garaged. Fast-forward another 3 months.. Its spring, warm outside and car shuts down again driving on the highway. This time, almost got into an accident and since I was close to the dealership, drove right there. I refused to take the car back until they figured out the cause, and cold weather wasnt to blame. They had the car almost a full month and couldnt replicate the issue. They claim that there was a loose rear distribution box and fuel pump. Three weeks later, car is back in for check engine light. I get the car back but called corporate BMW and got a complete runaround. Three times in one year the car shuts off, COMPLETELY UNSAFE! After a month of going back and forth with a resolution specialist, BMW refuses to terminate the lease and offers a credit for money toward the lease. NOT ACCEPTABLE!! Still trying to climb the corporate ladder and find someone to speak to. What happens if the next shut off cause an accident?? They dont care, no customer service, and no regard for safety. Reliable, fast, safe and well built. I had an old BMW that just kept on running even when it needed repairs. It kept going and got me to where I needed to be. This 20 year old car looked no more older than most 10 year old cars and with over 250,000 miles on it. Ran and started up better than many newer vehicles of lesser years and miles; that is until admittedly my dog and I caused interior damage that aged the vehicles appearance. That 1996 BMW 740il was still running and reliably starting every day right up until when I sold it to someone who was willing to fix it up a bit and run it some more. I have spoken to many people that state, BMWs are known to last beyond the 300,000 miles that few other cars make it to.

I have had my 2011 528I since 09-02-11. Its a great car. BMW advertises that the only thing you have to pay for is tires and gas. I complained about the $1900 NAV system, and that it was not very user friendly, and that my $200 Magellan was a much better device. I had gone to the dealer, asking for a software upgrade, as the device had trouble finding known businesses that I attempted to locate as a test of the system. I was told that it would cost me $400 for an upgrade (which they recommend 4 times a year). I can buy 2 Magellans with free lifetime upgrades for that price. When I complained to BMW USA, they told me they had no control over local dealers, and they could charge any price they wanted. So much for the Tires & Gas.

I am the third owner of an 08 BMW 535I with a bad high pressure fuel pump (recall) that has been replaced two times in the last three years. This would be the third time for replacement, but Gwinnett BMW refuses to replace it. They said it was the alternator, and OM battery that caused the problem to the high pressure fuel pump and my warranty or recall would not be honored. There is nothing wrong with my alternator or battery, they are operating properly. If there is an OM battery in the vehicle it had to be placed in the vehicle prior to my purchase. Last service was at Global Imports in Atlanta, GA.

I purchased a pre-owned 2008 BMW 750IL with about 50,000 miles. I drove it to 92,000 miles before I had to trade it in. I have purchased three BMWs and have had serious service issues with the last two. The specific problem I have had with the last one related to the cars inability to start. I had to have it towed into the dealership 4 times when it would not start. In each case the dealer thought they solved the problem but had not. I paid $1,800 to have it fixed but without success. The dealer returned my money because they told me that even though they got the car running, they could not guarantee that it was fixed. This was a problem in the engine computer. Since the car was unpredictable to start, I had to trade it in on a new car, an Infiniti.I will never buy a BMW again. What is so frustrating about this situation is that I intended to keep this car for another 50,000 miles and the engine, if it started, certainly could easily deliver these miles. This situation forced me to invest +$50,000 that I had never budgeted for. I could not have a car that I did not know from one day to the next if it would start. When you pay this amount for a luxury car, you should not have to be stressed out about its ability to start. And for the dealership not to be able to fix and ask me to go away is quite a disappointment! I will be sure to tell hundreds of people over time my story and to recommend they never buy a BMW!!!

The paint on the roof is fading & the rubber seal around my back window is chipping and cracking on my 2005 530i. I have gone to the BMW dealer & was told it was normal wear & tear. I have a 1999 Acura & the paint is not fading nor have any of the seals cracked on the windows. It is a shame you pay all this money for a BMW and the body of the car does not hold up. I have also gone to several body shops & been told the roof must be painted & window seal replaced. I am now forced to pay to have my roof painted and seal replaced on the back window.

When I called about another problem with the car, was told the cars warranty had elapsed. I told them the car was warrantied until 2012. The dealer told me the car was bought in 2005 even though it is a 2006 model and that it had expired. I informed them that the sales person told me the car was warrantied until 2012 and not 2011. They will not honor any warranties. Since purchasing the car, I have been in the shop for Thermostat problem, lighting problem, fluid leak problem from transmission and coolant, steering column problem, etc. I called the dealer and National BMW and nobody will help me. The transmission now has a warning light. If I replace transmission it will cost $5k to $7K.

I purchased a 2006 BMW 750li from the dealership on 10/14/2011. After purchasing the vehicle, I realized that the front end right side headlight was not aligned properly. I immediately called back to the dealer salesman Rich ** and informed him of my findings. He said that the dealership was closing, and to take pictures and send to him what I had noticed. I sent him pictures and informed him that I would contact the dealership in the morning which was10/15/2011. I called the dealership in the morning as I said, I would and spoke to Rich **. He proceeded to send me pictures of another vehicle with the same situation. He instructed me to take the vehicle to my local BMW dealership and have it inspected. On Monday 10/17/2011, I took the vehicle to Dryer Reinbold BMW in Indianapolis, Indiana for an inspection. After getting the vehicle back and talking with the Service Manager, I was told that I should take the vehicle to BMW Collision Center for further evaluation. I called and made an appointment for Friday10/28/2011. I had taken the vehicle in for an inspection, and was told by the Technician that the vehicle had previously been involved in an accident of some sort, which was causing the misalignment. I immediately contacted the Laurel BMW dealership to speak with the Used Car Service Manager Guy **, but he was not available. I proceeded to leave a message on his voicemail regarding the situation. I continued to try and reach someone, who could help me with this matter. I was instructed to call the General Manager Patrick ** and leave him a message.I proceeded to fax over the estimates that were given to me by the BMW Collision Center. On Saturday 10/29/2011, I called Guy ** to see what could be done, but was not able to communicate with him because of his attitude so I called Patrick **. I ultimately could not reach him so I left several messages on his voicemail. I finally decided to email Patrick some pictures of the vehicle from 10/14/2011. Patrick responded to my email, and we conversed via email regarding the matter. Patrick finally emailed asking me to give him til Monday because he was too busy to further address this matter regarding the vehicle.

I am very disappointed with the service I have received from the dealerships in the Atlanta, GA area. I purchased my car on January 15, 2015 and it was one of the proudest moments in my life. I have had to take the car in several time because of the oil leak and I was told by the 2 separate dealership that they cant find an oil leak. I took my car to a certified BMW mechanic and he informed me that there is a known oil leak with BMW 750li NG3 engine but BMW refuse to fix or change the engine. I got up this morning and wrote a letter of complaint and when I was looking for the Customer Complaint information for BMW I found this website. I went through and read all the posted complaints and I see I am not the only owner who is having oil leak and my air conditioner going out.It seem to be a big problem with BMWs and I am very disappointed but I refuse to drive a car that smokes, leaking oil and the air conditioner not cooling properly. I work for a major transportation company and I am going to be sure I let everyone I work with know the problems I am having with the so call Ultimate Driving Machine. Sounds like I bought a Lemon so if we are going for action lawsuit count me in. I agree that the 750li should considered a LEMON.

Since I bought my new 2007 BMW 530I in 2006, I have had a squeaky brake problem - a defect in the rotor. Up to this date, 2012, this problem has not been resolved. I have taken the vehicle into the dealerships repeatedly to fix this issue over the last 6 years, but it has never been fixed, and they never told me that the rotors needed to be replaced to fix the squeaking brakes until now, as my maintenance warranty is expiring soon. Out of all the years I took it in, they never told me this until now, and they appeared to be trying to get money out of me to pay out of pocket. Under the maintenance warranty, I need to drive the vehicle another 14,000 miles before they can replace the rotors for wear, but my warranty will end before I can drive that amount. Otherwise, I will have to pay out of pocket $900 per rotor to replace. I also contacted BMW customer service, and they told me they cannot do anything under the maintenance program and the warranty for the rotors expired already. I am very upset that BMW cannot resolve this squeaking brake issue. Im upset that the dealership never fixed this issue from the beginning, and BMWs poor customer service cannot help me. The squeaking has become unbearable wherever I go. Dont ever buy a BMW; overpriced and poor customer service.

I have a very big disappointment with the way your services are rendered with regards to availability of Parts. Anyone who purchases BMW expects no harassment and quick service from your company’s end. However this is my second instance that my car is hold in your service center for at least 25 days due to non-availability of part that is as common as a headlight.Last time car in service center was due to a manufacturing fault. Still had to wait for a period of not less than a month. Even this time if I have to wait for similar timeline for headlight replacement I don’t see any customer satisfaction or value for the amount spent. Point been please fix my car in a weeks’ time. If done so I will be very much obliged.Car was purchased from dealer- INFINITY CARS PVT LTD. When it was taken we were never warned about these shortfalls in your service center otherwise I would have never purchased your car and especially a new model. Also I will like to share my experience which is quite an unsatisfied one to not purchase any new model launched by BMW for at least 2 years till service centers start stocking at least the most popular parts.

My 2004 BMW 525 headlights have completely hazed over. I have tried several aftermarket products for headlight lens restoration. This has not worked or even made them marginally clearer. My dealer service person believes that the lenses were made of a lower quality plastic in this time frame compared to newer models. The only repair is to replace the whole headlight assemblies at $2,000 each. The Customer Relations person at BMW USA cheerfully took the complaint and said that nothing would be done. We are on our own. It is always nice to see a company stand behind a poor engineering decision, which is widely known within the company.

I just want to say I love my BMW and have never had any problems with my car. It has run beautifully since the day I bought it used from a private party with 48,000 miles on it 2 years ago. I only have 1 major complaint and that is the underside of the front bumper being that it seems to be too low. When parking, those cement stoppers? The car will easily park where the bumper is rested above the concrete stopper which is normal parking. HOWEVER if you do this BEWARE, because when you back out? KA-KLUNK! Sounds like someone was thrown into your vehicle but no, theres a piece under the bumper that gets caught on the cement piece and when you back out it gets caught on your bumper and nearly pulls it off! This has happened too many times to count as you cannot see the cement bumper and should not have to and should be able to park normally. The result is a separated bumper which will eventually get torn off. Ive had to have mine reattached several times. The clips have been broken numerous times and it is now held on with a strong black wire and the bumper has literally been screwed on. Unless I nearly park 3/4s of the way into a spot or back in it will inevitably happen again. Other than that the front seat does not recline flat. At best it reclines to a 30 angle which is weird for a luxury car.Otherwise I love my BMW. People dont understand these cars are very complex and technologically advanced. If taken care of properly... (using the proper grade fuel, proper fluids, etc.) Your car will run as good as the day it left the showroom. The red no in between with these cars, if somethings not right it wont run like crap. It just wont run at all until its dealt with.

I leased a 2014 528i about a year ago. The dealer (Vista BMW) claimed my deal was below wholesale... 50k for a sticker price of 56k. The car is adequate, nothing special, and the run flat tires are a joke... even Hyundai gives you a spare if you want. They run hard and if a flat BMW wants you to REPLACE it at your expense (about $350. Or more.) I took the car to CARMAX two months after I got it. It had 1600 miles and was perfect. CARMAX offered me $35k for the car (21k under sticker). I learned by talking to other dealers that BMW is so overpriced that you will never get out of it unless you take a huge hit. In August of 2013, I purchased 2010 X 3. This car had approximately 27 K and factory warranty effective through the end of April 2014. Approximately 2 weeks prior to the expiration of the warranty, I noticed a vibration in the drive train and took the car to the local BMW dealer for evaluation. The dealer determined that a manufacturing defect was contributing to the symptom but that another related component was also defective that BMW was already aware of for my make and year vehicle. The dealer replaced the component causing the initial symptom and advised that it would be 8 to 10 weeks before BMW could manufacture the other needed component and that all of these repairs would be covered under warranty. We were advised to keep and drive the car pending the receipt from BMW Germany for the other component, at which time we would be re-scheduled to return for completion of those repairs. We took the vehicle on an out-of-town trip days after having these initial repairs and while away several warning lights came on indicating a number of issues. Because the car was still drivable we completed our trip and promptly returned the vehicle to the BMW dealership for evaluation on approximately April 29, 2014. We were advised the car was now in worse condition than before and we were lucky that the differential had not locked up going down the highway. The car was left at the dealership who arranged for a loaner vehicle pending the repair of mine. On June 21, 2014, I was contacted by the dealership and advised that my car was repaired and ready to be picked up. I requested a test drive before taking receipt and the shop foreman accompanied me and my wife on a test drive. The car surged upon stopping which it did not do before and the vibration in the drive train was still very pronounced when turning. The shop foreman agreed the car was not roadworthy and we returned to the dealership. As of July 29, 2014, the dealership has not completed repairs to my vehicle. This vehicle has been out of service now for three months. I have offered to buy the loaner vehicle because my wife and I have lost all confidence with the dealers ability to competently repair my car. The dealer and BMW have offered assistance in an effort to negotiate a trade; however considering the aggravation and lost trust, their terms are currently viewed as unreasonable for me. We have had many BMWs down through the years and normally receive very good service from the car. The dealers however need more customer service training.

2013 335xi CPO 3 bent rims sold to me by BMW of south shore Hingham Mass. First I must start by saying Im writing this review with the facts and non-bias against BMW South Shore Gallery. I have owned 4 BMWs within the last couple of yrs. I recently went to BMW of south shore to trade my SUV for a sedan. Upon my arrival I notice that they had a new facility quite spacious and clean. Not many sales folks on the floor... However after a few minutes I was approach by a young gentleman which was quite articulate. We struck up a deal on my trade for a CPO sedan. After signing and ready for pickup a few days later I notice the car was not cleaned to my expectation... So I told them about it and they asked me to bring it back... so I did. After a few weeks later I was driving going 93 north. During my acceleration I notice that there was heavy vibration when the speedometer was 70 mph... I did not think anything of it... I thought this was just maybe balancing needed. Within a 2-week span I decided to call and make appointment to take a look... After arriving at the service area... I was in quite shock because the first thing the service advisor said was you will need wheel and tire insurance... Im like wtf in my mind... Ok I humored him... Then he said hes going to put it on the lift and show me that its not uncommon that I have bent rims? But 3 rims... How the hell did he know that the rims was bent... After putting it on the lift... he called me to look. He stated that 3 of my rims was bent and needed to be fixed. Keep in my mind I barely had this car for less than an month prior to observing this problem.I told them that Im not responsible for this, as this car is fairly new and I just picked it up. I was appalled by the next comment... that its not uncommon to have 3 or 4 rims bent... Seriously. I said I was going to go directly to BMW and complain of this deceitful practices on CPOs... and especially the folks in the service area selling you unnecessary things... BMW puts a lot into their CPOs and South Shore is putting the money back in their pockets... Right now Im still waiting for a call from them to fix my 3 bent rims which they knowingly sold the car to me with. The average driver would not have notice this issue if they were driving at 55 mph... So beware...Always go over the car thoroughly with the sales person... and have them put it on the lift and have 4 tires rotating so you can see if the rims are bent. My wife brought her car there several times for service and each time it has always been a problem because they serviced the wrong thing... including taking off parts and not putting it on back correctly... Theres no accountability with the service advisor... and mechanics. If you do purchase a car please take to another BMW dealer and have them go over it and I bet you will find quite a few discrepancies...

I purchased a used BMW that was purchased as a certified pre-own by the previous owner. The warranty extended through 2019 up to 100k miles. I thought this would be a transferable warranty seeing that it was purchased through BMW. I called in and was transferred to a third party company who had no record of the warranty. I called BMW back to which another person explained that the warranty can no longer be transferred because I did not buy the car directly from the previous owner. There was a third party involved. I offered to pay a transfer fee, have the car reinspected or whatever yet BMW would not transfer the warranty. I was surprised that BMW wouldn’t want to stand by a car that they certified as good based on a transfer of ownership that involved a third party. That seems like bad business to me and way to force a new owner to repurchase the same warranty again. I would suggest others be aware of this clause when purchasing a used BMW.

I have had a love affair with BMW since the mid 1990s, however Im sorry to say that relationship is on the rocks. Having had 3 brand new BMW cars and one new BMW motorcycle I can now say that BMW quality is no longer a corporate mandate, just a slogan. What was once (with proper care) a vehicle that you could rely on, be proud of and enjoy has become the brand of what next. I say this as my X3 sits in a service bay to replace the drivers side mirror which fell off! $1300 To replace something not broken not damaged but the latest in a long line part failures that was preceded by a motorcycle that I literally had to throw away. WHAT? Yes a 2003 R1200C with less than 12000 miles stored in my hanger that in 2014 turned into junk because of cheap manufacturing processes, poor quality wiring and metal plating that literally fell off. Sound familiar, among exterior body reflectors and interior parts that have fallen off or delaminated on the X3 the one that has convinced me is the drivers door handle that is slowly turning into black goop and when I showed it to the service writer he said and I quote On the earlier models you had to replace the entire door panel.... As I said in the beginning not worth the money, because you are paying for quality that is no longer there.

I purchased an 08 M6 from the dealer in May of 13. It had 63,000 mi. In the fall 0f 14, I had the clutch, flywheel and slave cylinder replaced for a few thousand. In Dec. of 14, the check engine light came on. I parked it and had it towed to the dealer in Jan. They said it didnt have the correct battery so they replaced it, synced it to the computer for several hundred. Then they said it needed a new vanos pump as the chain was broken and metal shards were found in the bottom of the oil pan. Solenoids in the VANOS system had broken, causing the chain to break. The vanos pump was replaced and now Im told they couldnt get all the metal shards out and I need a new engine for $25,000.00. This is the top-of-the-line flagship vehicle for BMW. It has 72,000 mi. on the engine and has experienced catastrophic failure. I owe several thousand for the work thats been done and it still needs a new engine. Id appreciate suggestions, advice.

I paid for a platinum extended warranty on my 2008 BMW X5 to extend coverage to 7 years or 100,000 miles. I did so because of the numerous major problems I had with the vehicle after initial purchase. During a routine service at Freehold BMW in NJ, I was told that I needed thrust bushings replaced at a cost of over $1,000. When I asked if they were covered under the platinum warranty, they said no. I went to BMWs website and found that they are listed as covered. When I pursued this with both the dealer and BMW USA, I was told that they are not covered if replacement is due to normal wear and tear and that I failed to read the small print on their website. They said if it was a defect in the product, they would cover it. So I guess everything that I paid for under this contract is subjective based on their opinion. They do not even identify which items specifically are subject to this wear and tear clause. So I guess if my navigation system breaks, they will claim I used it too much! I will never buy another BMW again. BTW, I never had these corporate integrity problems with my Mercedes or Infiniti cars. Escalation to Managing Supervisor at BMW N.A. doesnt help either. All you get is the dealer blaming corporate and corporate blaming the dealer. What a scam these extended warranties are.

I own an 08 760Li that was purchased in 11/08. Its less than 4 years old and would still be under warranty if the car had 5k miles less. The logic 7 amp quit and BMW failed to offer any assistance for the replacement. When you look on the internet, you will find a multitude of complaints about this amp failing. The car was 134,600 dollars new and Im in shock that BMW doesnt stand behind their product.

I purchased a 2008 BMW 335i as a second owner. Then, I discovered after the purchase that the title was branded lemon--manufacturer buy-back. Carfax did not have the word lemon until two years later when the state of California required the word lemon be added. Regardless, the BMW was a buy-back at 4,000 miles because the fuel pump failed. Eight months later, the below recall was issued:VOLUNTARY RECALL: BMW High-Pressure Fuel Pump Voluntary Emissions Recall--models w/ N54.The upshot of this is that my car was branded a lemon due to manufacturing failure but none of the cars post recall were branded as such. BMW refuses to intervene on my behalf to the California DMV, to reserve the title branding; thus, leaving my car worth 25% less than comparable values for this particular model. While trying to trade it at a BMW dealership, they confirmed that it wasnt worth 60% of comparable values.Doesnt BMW USA have a responsibility to make this right? None of this would have been known by me had I not seen a Carfax with the updated lemon language and had I not tried to sell the car, now with 35K miles on it. Please help me. BMW has flatly said that there is no recourse for me.

Worst customer service ever!!!! Worst customer service ever!!!! BMW recalled my car for a fault. I drive a large Estate used to transport therapy dogs and also to use for a family trip to Scotland BMW assist kindly organised a shoe box on wheels as a replacement. Despite numerous phone calls the unhelpful staff showed no compassion for the children who need the therapy dog and can’t even give me a rough estimate to how long I will have to put up with the worlds smallest car!!!! If I could give a 0/5 I would. As you can see 77% of people have given them 1 star.... Surely someone at BMW head office should be taking note???? Disgusting customer service!!!!

After reading through the majority of complaints here, Ive come to the conclusion that it is either the failure of the consumer to research the product carefully or expectations that are unrealistic and do not disclose the full story. For those that have had a bad sales experience, it is a failure of the dealership employing sales people that do not know their product and over promising and under delivering. If you buy a used car especially over 85k, as I read regarding the X5, expect it to have mechanical failures with some parts that require maintenance, i.e. cooling system parts such as t-stats and water pumps. Modern cars that are built by teams of suppliers are all prone to failures of suspension parts, bushings, window regulators, etc. and is an unfortunate result of the economies of building a car, any car. Buying a car because you thought it was prestigious, well, thats just an expectation residing in stupidity. BMW have never stated their x products are true off roaders (look at the wheels and tire profiles!). If you want that, buy a jeep or LandRover or LandCruiser. Navigation systems, blame the software guys (probably Navteq). They provide the disks for everyone in the industry. The car you purchased CPO was state of the art at the time and has evolved quite quickly. All of you expecting a car that is bare bones, be aware that most cars today have ecu/telematics units with more computing power than a Saturn V rocket (that took the Apollo astronauts to the moon). The trans guy? You needed a new clutch probably because you continued to drive the car after the trans light came on in which you probably needed a trans shift solenoid (approx $200). I am on my third car and have been fortunate to own many performance marques, all of which have had their share of issues. For the woman that claimed she was dismissed because car was out of warranty, what do you expect? What do you not understand? Out of warranty is out of warranty. You didnt complain if they fixed stuff at their cost within the warranty. Now, its your turn to incur cost. Cars arent cost free to maintain. You bought a car. A product. Thats it! You didnt do anything to qualify you for winning the Nobel prize so why should your expectation be that they fix your problem? Should they fix everyone elses car on the road thats out of warranty? For the guy with the motor mount issue, your car was probably in an accident. I have seen CPOD cars sold without disclosure of accidents by a major luxury japanese manufacturer and thats not the fault of the marque but the dealerships shoddy and shady selling practices. Conclusion, educate yourself if you buy anything. And stop with blame or false expectations that youre owed something. Car manufacturers step up to the plate to cover you either warranty or goodwill when analytics show there is a problem.

The 2001 BMW R1150 GS is a fabulous motorcycle. A beast of a motorcycle. Well engineered and tough it will take you where miles are afraid to tred! The R1150 GS has power to spare. Surprising lower and performance. My last motorcycle was a 2003 Harley Davidson 883 Sportster. I was impressed with the power of that Harley but this 1150 BMW puts it to shame. The BMW is smooth yet robust. The 6-speed gearing has a wide range. I especially like third gear! A handful of throttle feels like you are blasting off to the moon! At age 67 I only rode my BMW mildly off road on my own farm and then only over improved dry pastures! Mine has just over 31,450 miles at the time of this review! My bike was fully serviced and ready to ride anywhere when I purchased it second hand. The tires were just 1 year old with just 1,000 miles on them. I am 67 years old and recently purchased this BMW motorcycle in September 2021, however it is too tall for me to ride comfortably and safely. I have a 30" inseam but riders need longer legs to safely handle this motorcycle. I thought about lowering the suspension but these GS BMW's are too nice to alter. So I purchased a second BMW R1200C Pheonix last week which suits my stride much better. I do not need two BMW motorcycles so I am reluncticly parting with my GS. This is what Cycle World Magazine had to say about the BMW R1150 GS: BMW R1150GS - BEST USED BIKES Exemplifying the very essence of a two-wheel Swiss army knife. Cycle World July 22, 2015 YEARS SOLD: 2000–2004 MSRPNEW: $14,190 ('00) to $14,500 ('04) BLUE BOOK RETAIL VALUE: $4,885 ('00) to $6,500 ('04)BASIC SPECS: The R1150GS is powered by an 1,130cc air-/oil-cooled, four-stroke opposed twin featuring four valves per cylinder, electronic fuel injection, and shaft drive. The 1150 introduced a six-speed gearbox, while later models came equipped with dual spark plug heads and servo-assisted combined ABS brakes. The GS weighs 582 pounds WET with its 5.5-gallon fuel tank topped up and produced 74 hp and 68 pound-feet of torque at the rear wheel on the Cycle World dyno. The "Showa" suspension offers 7.9 inches of rough road-smoothing travel, while the adjustable saddle height (33.1 to 33.8 inches) accommodates a range of riders. WHY IT'S DESIRABLE: Few bikes have proven to be as versatile as the GS BMW Beemer family, with the 1150 exemplifying the very essence of a two-wheel Swiss army knife. It's a road-hardened touring mount and heavyweight dual-sport all wrapped in one. "I went places and saw things on the GS that I never would have on another bike," Mark Hoyer remarked back in the days before he was editor-in-chief. "It truly makes molehills out of mountains." All that, plus the reputation of durability and reliability rivaling that of an anvil easily warrant the price of purchase. THE COMPETITION: Long-travel twins gained prominence in the early 2000s with the introduction of the KTM 950 Adventure and 1,000cc Ducati Multistrada. Undoubtedly, this trend was helped along by the BMW R1150GS, which was honored as the Best Sport-Touring Bike of 2000 by Cycle World in our Ten Best issue.

We purchased a 2005 BMW X3 in 2007 to be my wifes car. It had 22,000 miles, not bad. While its styled nicely, also with ample room for an SUV and it handles nicely, it has been a mechanical nightmare. Its our first BMW and I assumed it would be reliable and be of high quality. WRONG. It was OK for a couple years of use, up to 35,000 miles, but since then, its been one expensive repair after another. Things that SHOULDNT break in a relatively low-mileage automobile. First, it was the liftshocks that raise the back tailgate. It would drop down on your head if you didnt keep one hand holding up while unloading groceries, etc. I was able to do that repair myself with new shocks. Next, it was the back passenger window mechanism in which a plastic piece along the ridebar broke. No one was messing with the window. There was no abuse, just my wife lowering the window to bring in air. Of course, the plastic piece is part of a whole motorized ridebar/lift assembly and in order to fix (only a dealer has the parts, btw) cost $575! Ridiculous. Next, a cracked intake manifold, along with several other parts (faulty PCV valve, breather hose, vent valve) that required replacement. Cost: $1,500! This last October, it was a leaky oil pan and oil filter housing, $450! Finally, about six months ago, four lights appeared on the dashboard, AWD, brakes, I forget the other two. Well, theyre all related to the same thing: a small motor beneath the drivers side undercarriage that distributes torque to the four tires independently, thus AWD. Great concept, BUT NOT IF THE GEARS INSIDE THE MOTOR WEAR OUT which is exactly what happened. The car had about 51,000 miles when this occurred. The motor is inside a housing about the size of a football. The motor cost $1,800, plus $1,200 labor, grand total of $3,000! The labor is high because numerous things have to be removed under the car to get at, and replace, the AWD motor. Well, we have to wait to get this last fixed, but I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER BMW AGAIN, EVER!! I could understand one fluke, one faulty part, but this has become an awful financial burden for us. My Toyota, on the other hand, has 74,000 miles and never a problem! Only basic maintenance: oil, tires, brakes... So you figure it out, which is the better vehicle?

I purchased a BMW 228i from a authorized BMW dealer and right after one year with 12000 miles on it the original Pirelli tires on the car split from the sidewall. I know for sure that I didnt hit the curb or anything and the car is always garaged. When I spoke with BMW they said they cant do anything about it and you need to contact dealer. So I contact my deal and he said since you didnt purchased any tire warranty with us we cant do any thing and you need to pay $400 to replace the tire. Since it was important I went ahead and spend $400 for just one tire. Now its a month passed and the exactly same thing happened on another tire and this time I again contacted BMW asking if there is any manufacturing defect with the tire or wheels. They opened the case and asked me that we will take 3 days to revert back with the case. Its already 1 week passed and they never bother to revert back to me on whats going on with the case. Couple of days back I called customer service and they said its being assigned to the service manager Matt ** in BMW and if you want you can call at his extension otherwise he will revert back to you. I called at his extension 3 times. Left a voice message but they just dont bother to at least call me back and tell me we are working on it. It feels like they just dont care about they customers, not sure if they are working in the office or not. THE MOST PATHETIC customer service from such a big company. Now that not over, this time I went to discount tires for this tire issue and they said if you are at tread count lower than 2/32 (which is 8/32 since the new tires are at 10/32) since you purchase the new car which and if it is a run flat tires Pirelli (Original tires from BMW) will replace it for free and if the tread count is lower than that (8/32) it will calculated as pro rated basis. They called Pirelli themselves and give me after pro rated calculation. They gave me $100 back and also replaced it with new tires. Now when this happened to my another tire neither BMW or their authorized dealer (Ralph ** BMW), that you will get the pro rated amount back. It felt like Ive been cheated by BMW and their authorized dealer.

I have had a terrible experience with this 7 series. This car jerks at times giving me a Drive Train Malfunction and the car becomes extremely unstable. This has happened 2 - 3 times already since I bought this car. Service Center (BMW Murray Motors - Denver) says Fuel Injectors are bad and so this issue. They replace Fuel injectors and the problem comes back after 2 months. Extremely dissatisfied and angry. I am paying too much money every month and have no peace of mind. In addition to this issue I have had other issues as well. My first impression Car: Terrible Car. Please do not buy BMW!!!

My 2007 325i floods on the rear seat floor. My 2002 528 did the same thing. This is a flaw that BMW needs to address. My 2007 325i battery died. BMW has it set up where one cannot buy an after market battery because they cannot be registered to the car, which prevents the car from realizing a new battery was installed and all of the warning lights flash on the dashboard.Im still searching for how the water is entering the car. I have looked at all drains, window seals and the padding in the door. I spent $350-plus to have my battery replaced and registered to the car.

Im leasing a 2017 230i xDrive Convertible. In one year and 12K miles, Ive already had to replace 3 run flat tires at a cost of $400-$500. Now I know why I was offered insurance at the time of my lease, which I didnt take. Ive never needed it before. No one explained the issues with these tires. Now I find myself either having to make a one time payment of $1,300 for the insurance for the remainder of my lease; put regular tires on the car but run the risk of damaging the transfer case ($4-5K repair) or continuing replacing tires every time I hit a pothole. This is my Ultimate Driving Experience; NOT!!! Horrific experience; never again; a total disappointment.

I send my car to BMW of Main line on Bala ave, Bala Cynwyd PA to fix the engine as I noticed a white smoke come out of tail pipe. The car have only 80 K. After they take the car for about month they give me the car. I drive the car for about two months. It was time to change the oil. I go to another BMW dealer closer from my new home. After they change the oil I noticed a ticking noise. At the time I go to pickup my car, they inform me that this issue inside the engine and I should take the car to the dealer who open the engine for me as this engine should be under cover. I called BMW of main line and I called BMW of north America. NO one helped me, no one even their manager told me to take it to BMW who change the oil and the one who change the oil, they told me to take it to the one who open the engine. They forgot that both of them are BMW and I dont care how they deal with this thing. I just need this ticking noise to be fixed. They only smile on your face when you are there to buy a car, then when you go back to fix something that they cant handle they just keep ignoring you. They look for cheap mechanic to handle our cars. They are not professionals.

I purchased a brand new 2007 BMW 328I in October of 2006. After 6 years of owning that car, I am completely swearing off of BMW for life. Most recently, the steering lock on the car malfunctioned. A few months back, it was an engine overheating problem that caused my engine to completely lose all power in the middle of a busy intersection. Over the years, there were countless incidences of the vehicle losing power. Put all that together with a ride that is hardly ever smooth, lots of jerkiness and delays in acceleration. I contacted BMW to complain about the most recent issue - not because the issue itself, but because of my level of dissatisfaction that a brand as reputable and as costly as BMW would present me with this many issues on a 6-year old car. It pains me to have to say goodbye to a car that is as attractive as the BMW model, but I refuse to spend my hard-earned money with a dishonorable company on a car that under-performs.

Without warning, my 2007 BMW 328Xi engine shut off and stopped in the middle of a busy road. I was told by a BMW service rep that my fuel tank draw tube fell off causing loss of fuel to the engine. I learned online that this is happening to other 2007 era BMWs and the reason is that the fuel draw tube is corroded by the fuel it is drawing and weakens and falls off. The fix is a new fuel tank, pump and draw tube for excess of $2,000.When contacted by my service rep, BMW gave a token $500 toward my repair leaving me with a $1,900 repair bill. Had this failure occurred on a busy Seattle freeway, my life would have been in grave danger as would have others around me - there would have been an accident with no way to avoid it. BMW is aware of their product failure and my question is who has to die before BMW steps up to the plate and accepts responsibility and recalls and repairs these vehicles? If you own a 5-7 year old BMW (maybe newer), its going to happen to you and I would appreciate your raising your voice to BMW before someone has to die to get BMWs attention.

I have a 2020 BMW M4 Convertible. My vehicle has 8,000 miles on it and the brakes are warped and shuttering. My horrible BMW dealership (HENDRICKS BMW CHARLESTON) wont cover it because there is a white paper out on it. They said since I dont beat the car up, this will happen to the brakes. They said the M4 is meant to be raced and beat up...so not an everyday driver. I pushed thing up to BMW, and after promising to check on helping out and get back to me in 5 days. I gave them 3 weeks and still no call back, so I called them and found out they will not cover either. If you know how thick the rotors are on an M4, its hard to believe that they are warped after 8,000 miles. This to me is a definitely defect. Bottom line is BMW is not service oriented anymore. What is really funny is I was just in the process of purchasing an X7 for my wife, and immediately cancelled the order. There are plenty of other car manufacturers out there without dealing with this. I will NEVER buy a BMW again. As a side note. BMW was going to charge me 2100 to resurface rotors and replace brake pads. Just terrible when a company that used to be great is worse than Chevrolet. I quit buying Lexus for a 10 year period because of horrible customer service, and how they dealt with me at the end of a lease. BMW is a horrible company for folks that like blowing their money for nothing. I have owned 6 BMWs and this truly is the end of my relationship. They truly arent doing the right thing and Im certainly not going to have a business relationship with a company that doesnt do the right thing or backup their products and looks for ways to get out of support. I had purchased a BMW black X3 very recently on 8/2/13. The car was taken from the Cochin showroom on 8/2/13. While taking the car out on 9th for a short drive, a disturbing knock sound from the back side of the vehicle was occurring. The vehicle was taken to the showroom and the same was attended by the technicians on 12th Feb. On the 13th, while traveling the same sound was heard and this time it was louder. The vehicle was taken to the showroom again on 14th Feb, but I was informed by the staff that as the technicians were not available, the complaint cannot be attended to. The AC cooling effect was very less. Its highly disappointing to notice the callous attitude from the staff and just within days after purchasing a brand new car. This really creates a very bad remark on such a well-known prestigious brand.

I purchased this 2008 pre-owned BMW in July and it is under the warranty. Only one month later, the engine light is on so I have to go for the maintenance. One month later, the right rear light is not working so i have to go to the dealer again. What really troubles me is that last weekend I am waiting for my friends in my car which only without the engine in 20-30 minutes, the battery is dead. When I called roadside assistance from BMW, this guy cannot even find where the battery is located and he tried to connect his equipment with something looks like battery besides the engine. When I pointed out to him that the battery may be located in the back, he used his equipment which is not fully charged to jumper my car. Of course, it did not work so he insisted that it is my battery problem and even told me to tow the car on the next Monday. And I called BMW again to ask for sending a professional roadside assistance to me, which should not be the previous one. They promised the new guy will come in two hours. It is already 10pm on Sat night. After two hours, it is close to 12am, the old guy called me again and said BMW send him again and he wont come anyway. I am so frustrated. I have to call my friend to pick me up and interestingly, my friend used his jumper and it worked. It should be much easier but BMW assistance just made things more and more complicated.
