8. Carbon Ceramic Brakes: The Competition Package version of the M6 offered optional carbon ceramic brakes, which provided exceptional stopping power and reduced brake fade during high-performance driving.

9. Customization: BMW offered a wide range of customization options for the M6, allowing buyers to tailor the car to their preferences in terms of exterior colors, interior trims, wheels, and additional performance features.

10. Competition Package: As mentioned earlier, the M6 Competition Package was available, offering more power, sharper handling, and unique design elements. It also included specific tuning for the suspension and exhaust system.

I purchased brand new 2011 BMW 128i which they no longer make for the price you are only paying for the name not the quality of a good car. I had issue from the start with the front end still never figured out what the noise was coming from. I now have 75,000 miles on it in the garage every night regular maintenance and this year alone problem after problem - Oil pan gasket leak $842+, Valve cover gasket leak $802+. Blower and wires fried replaced $750+, Gasket on the housing for oil filter $800+, Front struts $1450+. These prices are from the dealer that I purchased the car from brand new at @35k - nice loyalty to repeat customers, time to go back to a Honda and not Keeler.

Very confusing when they change network, they dont want to fix it. All BMW dealership tell you different stories. Customer relation is a joke, rude and obnoxious. This is my fourth Bimmer and customer service level is going down. I think BMW been losing money due to airbag recall, now network has change and dont want to correct this issue, very disappointed.

I own an 08 BMW 4S with 65,000 miles. The GPS failed and the dealer priced the repair at $1,435 to repair it. Need I say more? $1,435 to fix a GPS when Google Maps on my I-phone has a better GPS than the car did. Called BMW USA and they told me they could offer no help. This could be the last time I purchase a BMW. The Dealer is fantastic and the service specialist Terrance ** is top notch.

Disappointing policy concerning factory tires that are sold with a new vehicle. Dont get caught in this SCAM, there is no warranty, so same day you purchase your new vehicle, if tires start losing air and you find there is a puncture. Too bad, you get to purchase a new tire out of pocket. You then purchase a new tire, same brand and model and the dealer warrants the new tire for 1 year? Huh. No offer from dealership or from the national headquarters of any discount or compensation for your trouble and issue. What type of customer service is this?? This is my first BMW so starting off with a very sour taste of things to come from this experience.

I purchased a used BMW 318 EDS last year, this is a 2010 plate with 50k coming with a full BMW service history. I thought it to be a good buy as its quoted The ultimate drive. Within 5k the clutch had gone (my previous Vauxhall did 150k on the original clutch). However I got it replaced and thought sometimes it happens. Now at 60k the timing chain has snapped! BMW do not want to know anything, not bothered, so what etc. I can honestly say a BMW is not the ultimate drive, its just a complete overpriced brand that provides no customer support for a used car. Apparently this timing chain is a known fault. However the quote by the customer services lady was there is no current campaign against the fault so we dont have to honour it. The repair bill is around 1500, so please be very wary of buying a used BMW as you may end up with a complete dog of a car like I own. I should have bought a Ford or Vauxhall. Ultimate drive… Ultimate money pit.

I have 316I model 2010. Although PM services are being performed at BMW service center as per BMW manual, but while driving, Ive discovered that air condition is not working. Cairo BMW service center informed me that the coolant has to be replaced. Im wondering that an expensive car manufactured by reputable company, an important part gets faulty within 3 years after 42,000 km which is not happening in cheap cars. The problem is not only the cost of replacement but what hurts me is driving long way in sandy and hot weather with no AC and the cost of renting a car while my BMW is being fixed. This makes me hesitant to depend on my BMW car again, although it is not the case with BMW brand name. Please advise what to do. Thank you and looking forward to hearing from you.

I bought 2013 BMW 328i xDrive in Sterling, VA. My car has 74k miles on it. This car brand new is about 40k. Total repair cost so far: - At 47k miles - transfer case cover failed. - Cost to repair - $7,500. - At 73k miles - Head display unit, where you see navigation & radio etc, froze and failed. - Cost to repair - $2,200. - At 73k miles - Engine valve cover gasket started leaking oil and the Sterling BMW told me that it is at 8 on a scale of 10 to leak fire and catch fire. - Cost to repair - $1,000. TOTAL COST OF REPAIRS SO FAR - CLOSE TO $11,000 = CLOSE TO 25% OF NEW CAR PURCHASE PRICE.I have in my life never ever seen 25% repair costs in first 75k miles on any car I have driven. Highly disappointed and speechless. Thought this was a high end, high quality German built car. I called Sterling dealer, they said they acknowledge the repair price tag and agree that BMW North America should do something about it. So call BMW North America. They said I should have bought extended warranty - Ha!

I recently visited the BMW service center in about my 2007 BMW 525i, 58K old car. It stalled on the road with a huge cloud of smoke behind the car on the coldest day of the winter and I had to tow the vehicle to the service center. I did not get an appointment initially. I was told it would take at least couple of days to see the vehicle. I had no choice but leaving the vehicle at the service center. It took 10 days to get my vehicle back. I did not get the vehicle completely fixed and problem free. Nobody trust the owner of the car when I said I never found a single problem till it was stalled on the road.I was charged $2k initially. When I asked for the bad spark plugs which were replaced as part of the process, I was told they were disposed, then the representative went inside and found unused parts lying around the car and reduced that part price from the $2k he initially charged and gave me a new receipt. If I had not asked for spark plugs, I would have paid $2k and returned losing my money for the unused parts brought as part of my invoice. I am not confident if they have really replaced the parts that they are saying they did as part of the service contract. Now my car makes a chopper sound. It rattles like a old car out from the junk yard. The service manager says it could have existed before and it is continuing which is not true as nobody trust the car owner. The service guy told me that my engine is hydro locked and says that he never saw such problem in his entire experience and says that he do not know how to fix this. I am left to live with the problem. I smell the burnt odor when I drive. I do not know if it is a major problem or not. I was told if I drive the car for 1000 miles, the burnt smell will go away. One more surprising thing is, I was told they removed the entire engine oil from the engine. When they did that, is it not their responsibility to fill it back to normal level? They did not do it and told me I have to drive at least 1000 miles do get rid of the burnt smell and delivered the car. I took the car home, before I reached home it threw an error message saying the Engine Oil Levels are below minimum. What kind of service is that? Do they want to ruin my car and make me buy a new one or leave the car for more repairs and get looted? When I contacted the service center about the Engine Oil Levels, service manager asks me to come down to top off with one quart of oil. I asked him how can they deliver the car with engine oils at so minimum levels after service? I got no satisfactory answer. I have to leave the car for half day at the service center requesting (begging would be a right word here) to service my car paying $120+ more.I have no peace of mind with the car. All these problems clearly state that if you are out of warranty, just sell the car and get rid of the hassles. 58k on my car shows that it is still a baby. But the problems on the car are very scary. It is just the appearance and from inside BMW is the most problematic car I have ever experienced. I have to always worry about the battery draining because of the continuous checking of computers. The display throws all sorts of problems. Some times it stops working. Display is not a wear out part so early. Why should a customer worry about the car all the time? I have gone thru the forums. A lot of problems with 525 series. Why dont you guys recall and fix the problems? Why should the customer suffer so much paying for all the hot fixes you forgot in the first place while releasing the model? I am a very good driver and I maintain the cars very perfectly servicing them every 5k miles and taking good care. I have a Honda Odyssey 2007 model. Hassle free, not a single problem till now. Cars should be like that, hassle free. BMW is proving that luxury is a pain and a hole in customer pocket. If BMW is trustworthy as it claims, then please fix my car with no additional costs, as you did not fix the problem in the first case, despite charging me so much money and time. I hope someone will respond positively to this painful email. If not I will definitely will not buy a BMW in my life again and would not recommend to anyone. It is really painful knowing that BMW is so poorly serving customers not fixing the cars problems properly and driving customers to buy new cars.

My BMW had been sitting at the auto shop garage lot for a couple of weeks being looked over. I get a call from the garage owner early one morning that my BMW had caught on fire. I could not believe this! How could a car that had been sitting for weeks and had not been driven just catch on fire. The fire marshal investigated the matter and determined that indeed it was an electrical fire. I called BMW to make them aware of this situation. To my surprise the BMW representative told me that it was not an issue that BMW felt responsible for. I could not believe that this was BMW position regarding the quality of their cars. I was being told that because the car was not immediately under warranty BMW was not responsible. It was my position that here you have a supposed quality car that catches on fire just sitting. What company would not back their product in such a situation? I have a 16 month old son who was riding in this car on a daily basis before taking it in for maintenance. He could have died in this fire! BMW showed no concern or consideration in this matter. I will never buy another BMW if it was the last car on earth! Readers beware!!!

BMW Nightmare! 7 months ago my 2008 X5 died while I was driving the vehicle. Fortunately, there were very few cars on the road at the time. I jumped the car and took it straight to United BMW in Duluth, Georgia. They informed me that everything checkout fine and I simply needed a new battery. Fast forward 7 months and the vehicle died again while I was driving at a speed of 45 mph. I nearly got rear-ended. My family and I made it home after getting the car jumped, only to have it die in my driveway. Oh wait! It gets better. The vehicle was towed to United BMW in Duluth this morning. I explained the history to the representative named Scott **. Scotts response to me is as follows: 1. You must drive the vehicle at least 20 miles a day. 2. You must lock the vehicle when youre not driving so the system completely shuts down. 3. We recommend you purchase supplemental power for the vehicle to ensure the batter is adequately charged.4. If your fuel is low you may also experience problems. My response to Mr. Scott **: No one in their right mind would purchase a BMW based on what you described! His response, My job is to give you the information. I apologize if your sales representative failed to do so. Needless to say, Im afraid to let my wife or kids operate this vehicle. BMW, IF THIS ISSUE DOES NOT GET FIXED ONCE AND FOR ALL, AND WE END UP IN AN ACCIDENT, YOU WILL PAY DEARLY!

Purchased a 2006 750li with 36k miles. Had it 8 months so far, in what I thought was good condition only to find out that its riddled with problems and manufacturer defects. First, key fob went dead, required car to be towed to the dealer losing a week of use and $1500. Two months later, the water pump went out and was informed that the vacuum pump was leaking oil. The control arm bushings were bad and the power brake was leaking as well. $9500 later everything was supposed to be fixed, a week into the repair the restraint system developed a fault. Reading online, it seems not only that BMW is aware of the problem but recalled the power brake issue and the restraint system issue, however, when calling BMW of Dallas, I was informed they could not cover the repairs. When I mentioned previous repairs they said these are normal wear items. Since when do all the control arm bushings, vacuum pump and water pump go out at 40k miles. I paid a lot of money for this car and expect BMW to honor their vehicles problems instead of pointing fingers and trying to put blame elsewhere. I am being quoted $2200 for a new seat belt module bringing my grand total repair bill to over $15000.00 for a car thats worth $30k. I understand normal wear and maintenance but the repairs in question should not be considered wear and tear at this stage or mileage in the vehicles run.

Cut and dry I had nothing but nightmares with my Bmw truck 2006 x5. It was my 3rd BMW and my last brought to Hassel Bmw to service every 3-5 months with higher price tags fuel pumps, tires, halo lights had shorts all the times, coolant light, check engine light. I needed a cyclone separator which cost out of pocket 1800 for just that issue. One time hassel gave me a bill total was 6k. I laughed like who yall think paying for that then I got smart. Thank God it was paid for so I traded my bmw and that was 40k when I first brought it only got 7k blue book trade in. I was hurt but got rid of it for a 2012 Toyota Camry. Best move I ever made. Word to the wise never buy pre owned bmw from anywhere. I would tell yall about the nightmares with my 330i and x3 but I have a life and will be typing till next year. Moral of story buy bmw brand new, never pre-owned.

Im leasing a 2017 230i xDrive Convertible. In one year and 12K miles, Ive already had to replace 3 run flat tires at a cost of $400-$500. Now I know why I was offered insurance at the time of my lease, which I didnt take. Ive never needed it before. No one explained the issues with these tires. Now I find myself either having to make a one time payment of $1,300 for the insurance for the remainder of my lease; put regular tires on the car but run the risk of damaging the transfer case ($4-5K repair) or continuing replacing tires every time I hit a pothole. This is my Ultimate Driving Experience; NOT!!! Horrific experience; never again; a total disappointment.

I purchased an 08 M6 from the dealer in May of 13. It had 63,000 mi. In the fall 0f 14, I had the clutch, flywheel and slave cylinder replaced for a few thousand. In Dec. of 14, the check engine light came on. I parked it and had it towed to the dealer in Jan. They said it didnt have the correct battery so they replaced it, synced it to the computer for several hundred. Then they said it needed a new vanos pump as the chain was broken and metal shards were found in the bottom of the oil pan. Solenoids in the VANOS system had broken, causing the chain to break. The vanos pump was replaced and now Im told they couldnt get all the metal shards out and I need a new engine for $25,000.00. This is the top-of-the-line flagship vehicle for BMW. It has 72,000 mi. on the engine and has experienced catastrophic failure. I owe several thousand for the work thats been done and it still needs a new engine. Id appreciate suggestions, advice.

The husband and I both have BMWs. Mine is a 2010 and his is a 2011. After getting extremely crummy service at Fairfax BMW in Fairfax, VA, we decided to try Sterling BMW in Sterling, VA. Surely BMW doesnt hand out their Center of Excellence awards all willy-nilly-like, right? Well, apparently, they did in 2010. While there are many additional detailed points of their suckage, I will provide you the highlights:I took the 2010 in to get new tires. After spending $2000 on 4 new kicks mounted and balanced and alignment for the old girl, they wanted to charge us over $100 to fill the tires with Nitrogen. While I understand its a business, dont nickel and dime me when I just dropped $2000. After finally getting my car back, we drove it home. Traffic was a little rough that evening, so we werent going terribly fast. The next day, however, we noticed a major wobble. The vibration was so bad, the side mirrors were shaking. I got to work and felt like I had driven a jackhammer instead of my luxury car. I took it back in on Monday. They finally called on Tuesday, claiming it was two bad tires. Alright, fine. When we went to pick up my car, they couldnt find it. Let me repeat that. When I went to go rescue my car, they had misplaced it. It took the entire service department, a few of the sales guys and over an hour to find it. Immediately after picking it up, we magically had squeaky brakes that we had never had before. The sad thing is that Id rather listen to the brakes than to BMW Sterlings horrible excuses.During the same time, we had my husbands SUV in for several items that BMW Fairfax couldnt fix after repeated visits. These included brakes, slipping transmission, air conditioning and a rattle in the tailgate. They had the Bears car for over a week. They replaced the brakes and fixed the AC. They could not, however, recreate the slipping transmission and they said they could not hear the rattle, despite the fact that they let the technician drive our car home one night (Im still reeling at that one especially when they asked my husband if that would be okay and he said no)! Of course, we heard the rattle in the tailgate as soon as we left the dealership. Call us crazy, I guess. We changed from Audi over to BMW because of service issues. We had a 5 series and a Mini Cooper prior to getting our current cars. When we got these cars in San Francisco, we were in love with the cars and the dealership/service. At this point, we are about a millisecond away from switching to Mercedes. Apparently, our paltry two-car household matters not to the auto giant. Between the incompetence, attitude and just overall cheapness, I cant see spending another cent with BMW. Dare I say lemon? I dare.Ha! So we got a call from BMW USA. After playing phone tag for 3 weeks, the Rep rushed us through our side of what has happened. She kept saying she was sorry we felt that way anytime we mentioned how disappointed we were about the crummy service or the shoddy quality. When she asked what we wanted, DH mentioned we would love to be able to just settle things amicably without having to consult a lemon-law lawyer. She said that if that was what we wanted to do, go ahead. This doesnt bode well for their Customer Service. I will update with results.Update #2: We were promised a resolution within 3-5 business days. We are on the 4th business day and just got a call from BMW USA to tell us they dont have a resolution yet. Surprise, surprise. And, there is no update on when we will know something. We are not surprised one single bit, aside from the fact that they called at all. What do you want to bet that they will wait until we make our next payment in 6 days and then call to tell us they cant do anything?Update #3: My husband finally called and was told we would hear something early in the week during the week of 7/16. They are supposedly waiting to hear something from Fairfax BMW. Im not holding my breath.Another update: We were supposed to hear from Customer Service last week. Nada. DH called on Friday, 7/20, and asked for her extension. It rang and someone else answered. DH requested our rep and was asked what it was in regard to. He told her we are trying to give back our lemon. She said she would look up our case, looked up the information and surprise! She couldnt find anything. He asked then to get transferred to our reps phone and he left a message requesting a call back that day. Again, nothing. We got a call back from her today, 7/23. The phone didnt ring; we just got a voice mail. We called her back and havent heard a peep since then.We are giving her until tomorrow pm to get back with us and if we dont hear from her, we will be foregoing the niceties and proceeding directly past go to a lemon lawyer. In the midst of all this, other things have stopped working on the X5. The rear camera works occasionally, but it chooses when and where. The auto-telescoping steering wheel has stopped working. The transmission is still jerky. My opinion? Do not buy a BMW!

This is a reply to Charles of Hobbs, NM: In regards to the gasoline smell, Charles, you need to replace your charcoal filter and make sure the rubber hoses are not cracked. Secondarily, when you fill up your car, stop pumping gas as soon as it clicks off. Dont fill it to the top; it overflows into your charcoal canister. You can find the part on bavauto.com or rockauto.com. Its very easy to replace.

I have a 2013 BMW 328i with just under 40,000 miles. The fuel pump went out last Friday 6/15/2018. No excuse for a fuel pump going out at this point. It is still under the 50,000 mile warranty criteria, but over the time limit. I purchased a certified pre owned (CPO) 2006 325i sedan from Center BMW in Sherman Oaks, CA. with 54k miles for less than $30k. I was 24 years old, recent college grad, and just bought my dream car, I was happy. Within a year of purchasing, I experienced problems. The dealership fixed whatever was under warranty for the next 2 years (as per the CPO warranty). In the 6 years I have had this car, I have put on 63 miles, so now it is over 100k miles. I took care of my car and gave it whatever attention it needed, right away.Once the warranty was over, I experienced more problems that I had to pay for on my own: new Xenon headlight, all 6 pistons back firing (at different times over the 6 years), transmission gave out, power window on rear passenger side broke, window locks broke, driver side door handle/lock broke, display on radio broke, starter broke, rear view mirror broke off window, interior of steering wheel peels off, rear window molding had to be replaced twice, driver window motor stalls, passenger front door lock motor stalls, molding around passenger rear window leaks and water gets in with rain/car wash.Molding of roof racks peeling, car rattles when you turn the wheels to the furthest point possible while driving, especially on an incline, car rattles/shakes when the AC is on and car is at a complete stop, AC turns on automatically randomly, exterior lights on drivers side stay on when car is off and locked (randomly), BMW symbol on hood peeled and faded, and there is a loud, embarrassing rattle coming from underneath the car.For 20% of these problems, the dealership fixed under warranty. The rest they claimed were not under warranty and I had to pay for out of pocket. For about 30% of these problems, I took my car into the dealership 3 times and they could not figure out the cause and suggested I would fix and pay out of my pocket, even when the warranty was still valid. They claimed the warranty did not cover since they could not find the root of the cause and I would have to pay for time and labor for the dealership to take the car apart and figure out the root of the problem and then determine if the problem would be covered by warranty. The third time I caved in and paid for labor/time for the diagnostics and after all that the dealership told me the problem was not covered by warranty.Center BMW just sold me a lemon and sucked every penny out of my dream car. I finally got fed up and wrote a letter to the corporate offices explaining to them how unhappy I was with my BMW and how the dealership handled the problems and also mentioned how the lemon I purchased was a disappointment since I received a poor quality car that did not live up to the reputation BMW holds. Their response was there was nothing BMW would do once the warranty expired and the owner was responsible for all repairs.

I purchased my dream car 4 years ago. I was so excited but then for the last 3 yrs, I have been taking my 645ci to BMW of Annapolis complaining about my transmission. Each time, they told me they couldnt duplicate the problem but took care of other issues. I had a 3rd party warranty that they charged close to $14,000. Not once could they diagnose the problems with transmission. The last few times I took it, the transmission malfunction light was on. One of the service advisers even saw it. But again I was told they couldnt duplicate the problem. In May 2017, I again took it there since my light came on again. They had my car for weeks, but I was told to pick up the car. They couldnt duplicate the problem. A few weeks later, my car would not go in reverse and the transmission light came on again. I called and spoke to the Service Manager Steve **. He told me to bring it to him and they will take a look at it. Well, my husband was able to get it there and told him that the car would not go into reverse, reminded them that I just had it there for the transmission issue and showed picture of the transmission light. Once again, I was told they couldnt duplicate the problem. Their foreman sent me an email stating he reviewed all my previous complaints (which a documented in email) and stated they couldnt duplicate the problem, but that I needed a new transmission shifter selector lever ($1,500) but couldnt guarantee that would take care of the problem. Also stated in email that he notice they showed a pattern of low voltage issues (which I never was told before). My warranty expired the beginning of this year (due to time on mileage). Not once was I informed of the low voltage issues and nothing was ever done about my complaints of the transmission. This would have all been covered but now it is not. I contacted the corporate office, Group 1 Auto. They are the owners of BMW of Annapolis. I received a call from Steve ** from their office. I had him on a conference call with my husband so he could explain our issues. While my husband talked to him, Mr. ** snickered several times while my husband was talking. My husband asked if they was laughing at him. I found the snickering very rude. All I wanted was some kind of resolution with my car. I wanted to know why the transmission light kept coming on (both my husband & I have had problems with the shifting or slipping of the transmission). We were never given an answer. I didnt want to put $1,500 into the car and that not be the problem. I wanted answers. Instead I got we need the loaner car back and Do you want us to put in shifter? Well it turns out Steve ** was at the BMW service department. He told us on the phone we need the loaner back and we will not do any work on your car so please take it to a different BMW service department. I have never in my life been treated in this manner. They couldnt figure out the problem and instead of calling the Corporate Team (which I found out BMW has to figure out problems like this), they wouldnt work with us.My husband ended up getting the car (with no reverse), and noticed damage to the dashboard and curb straps (that were not there when car dropped off). He also had to call the police in order to get the information on who actually worked on our car (test drove it and tried to diagnosis) since BMW would not give him that information. Now I am without a working car, a broken dashboard and still do not know what is wrong with the transmission. I dont understand how it got to this point. Why were the experts not called when they couldnt duplicate the problem. Especially when I told them I was having problems in 2014? This could have been avoided had they taken the extra steps. I understand parts need to be replaced, but I feel it was never diagnosed properly. I am in total disgust. This has given BMW a bad name.

I leased 2014 328i since Feb. 2014 and has 4600 miles on it and just went to BMW service for the fourth time with same issues. First they cant duplicate the issue then second time foreman got into my car and verified the noise. Third time, they could not verify again when the noise still continues and fourth time, I decide to take it to different BMW service center and the mechanic sat with me and verified the noise is there and wrote on service report. But, as I picking it up the noise were still there and I notified BMW north America but no response. What should I do? Should I hire a lawyer? Or is it something I can deal with BMW North America?

I recently bought a used 2011 BMW X6 with 42K miles. The vehicle was owned by a friend of mine and she was the original owner. The X6 was serviced by BMW dealer and at recommended intervals. After two weeks, the car wont start and had it towed to an independent shop. The diagnosed was the VVT motor and DME unit (Digital Motor Electronic) were bad and total replacement for parts and labor comes to $4,700. The mechanic informed me that he has seen this issue many times and normally happens at 90-100K miles and not 42K miles. The mechanic said I should call BMW of North America to see if they would reimburse the cost. BMW refused stating the car no longer under warranty. IMO, BMW products are crapped and expensive to repair and I will never buy their cars and let people know not to buy their cars since they dont stand behind their products. Their cars are overpriced and a piece of junk.

I leased a 2009 328i BMW and a basic part of the car was Voice Recognition - no need to buy the navigation system. I leased the 2013 328i and of course expected the Voice Recognition to be part of the package. No one at BMW Manhattan knew that it wouldnt be. I took the car and soon learned this was the case. Called BMW and was told that this year it wasnt part of the basic package but they were fixing it and the software would be available by June 2013. June has come and gone and I am now told it will not be available at all. Never would I have taken this car. BMW will not take the car back. This is a safety issue - and I dont know of another car that doesnt provide this as a basic. BMW is arrogant about this and dismissive. I will never get another one of its cars. This is bad business.

I have a 2014 BMW 750iL Xdrive. When I come to a slow stop the car starts jerking in the last few seconds before stopping. If I take my foot off of the brake without stepping on the gas, it will jerk again for a few seconds until it get a little speed. I say slow stop above because it does not jerk when I come to a faster stop. I usually drive in Comfort+ mode with the auto Start Stop engine engine turned off. I have taken the car in several times now and still have the problem, and they seem to not have a clue what could be causing this. Never had this issue with any other car I have ever driven! First, Id like to say that this Driving Experience has been the worst experience on my end. This letter is to notify you BMWNA as the manufacturer that my vehicle is once again at Fort Lauderdale BMW for the fourth time, and I will allow one more repair before my attorneys proceed with the Lemon Law of Florida State. I will also like to ask if anyone at BMWNA has any kind of consideration to at least prorate my monthly charge because of my reoccurring issues with my car. I believe thats just right being that I have to waste money, time and mostly time in traffic and off work because of this issue. Im a very unhappy customer and I will say this now and forever, I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER BMW! And everyone that I get a chance or would like to get to hear my horrible experience with BMW I will be glad to tell them of my long stressful/humiliated days. My time with BMW has been enjoying all the loaners that I have acquired since my time with BMW. I really dont know, but BMWNA keeps telling me that they have traded me out of the car twice already so they cant help me in anyway but I dont think its right for me to pay close to $1700 monthly for my car to be in the repair shop constantly. The information in red is of the lady that communicated with me that BMW OF NA cannot help me anymore, when I was having my issues with 2013 328i that the alignment was bad and BMW of Coconut Creek could not fix it. I ask for BMWNA to allow me to trade out of it because of on going issues and Margaret ** I guess said OK but its not like they give me money the first and I still carry the negative equity. Then I got into a Certified New 2011 M3 which had issues from the start. You check all service records on that 2011 M3. They changed parts and I would say out of the 9 months I was on the contract, it was in the shop 4 months. The vehicle had a stalling issue that could not be duplicated but yet parts were changed within the 3 service centers I visited. Coconut Creek BMW, Pompano Beach BMW, and Braman Bmw of Palm Beach. I got loaners so frequently that my phone would automatically sync to the Bluetooth system. Because of my numerous times at service and Margaret ** Certifying that the car would work as intended, it happened again. She first gave $1500 and the trade of my car for a certified used or new car. I said that wasnt enough because at the dealerships I went to they said the bank couldnt allow me to get in to a less expensive car so they then gave me $3500 which I thought was still a low amount being that the BMW stores could not help much so now I have a HIGHER PAYMENT WITH A CAR NOT OF MY CHOICE BUT AN EXECUTIVE DEMO, that the BMW Bank allowed me to get into because of my negative equity on the M3. But I never wanted to get rid of M3, the car was in the shop month after month and I just wouldve thought that since I was going through this issues they would have some sort of consideration and put me into the same car for the same price and not a $100,000 car not of my choice. I just want to say that when I do get the chance to leave BMW of North America I will leave running and never look back!!!BMW of North America has no consideration for your customers. I mean Im not lying of the repairs because they have my service records. I have my service records on this new 650 xDrive. This has been the worst experience and can guarantee you that I will never encourage anyone to buy a BMW and will never get myself into this mess again. Thanks but no thanks.

They said after my $20,000.00 repair, they were in repo status. I said no and that the car is back in for repair and Im on my way to pay. I was at Western Union with a witness to pay two payments. The girl at BMW was rude and said theres nothing she could do. The repo showed up in 30 minutes at BMW repair shop and took my car before I arrived. I never heard from anyone of this. I called on my way to repair shop and they said my car was taken and that was that. No authorization, no police involvement. The car could be stolen, for all I know. Then they billed me $12,000.00. I bought a 2003 Dinan 525i used with ~60K on it. In the last 7 years Ive logged another 180K+ on it. While I have had to do repairs (I work on it myself) it is nothing out of the ordinary; tires, brakes, coolant system rebuild (pump, radiator, fan clutch, overflow tank and pulleys/belt), alternator, O2 sensors, vanos seals and intake rubber ducting, all gearbox fluids changed. It is all to be expected for a car of this age. I have no complaints as the car has served me well. Some interior trim has broken or weathered and has been replaced, and the sunroof tracks will get replaced this summer. I am getting it detailed to celebrate its 250K milestone. I paid for a platinum extended warranty on my 2008 BMW X5 to extend coverage to 7 years or 100,000 miles. I did so because of the numerous major problems I had with the vehicle after initial purchase. During a routine service at Freehold BMW in NJ, I was told that I needed thrust bushings replaced at a cost of over $1,000. When I asked if they were covered under the platinum warranty, they said no. I went to BMWs website and found that they are listed as covered. When I pursued this with both the dealer and BMW USA, I was told that they are not covered if replacement is due to normal wear and tear and that I failed to read the small print on their website. They said if it was a defect in the product, they would cover it. So I guess everything that I paid for under this contract is subjective based on their opinion. They do not even identify which items specifically are subject to this wear and tear clause. So I guess if my navigation system breaks, they will claim I used it too much! I will never buy another BMW again. BTW, I never had these corporate integrity problems with my Mercedes or Infiniti cars. Escalation to Managing Supervisor at BMW N.A. doesnt help either. All you get is the dealer blaming corporate and corporate blaming the dealer. What a scam these extended warranties are.

I own a 2007 335i, which I purchased from BMW dealer, and always had it serviced by a BMW dealer. Around 35,000 miles I began having repeated problems with oil leaks, the service engine light would constantly come on and the engine wasnt performing properly. I was told that the codes just needed to be reset and that the problems were fixed. A few days later the check service engine light came on again. I went back to the dealership and was told it was the code for the fuel pump plausibility and all they had to do was to reset it with the software and it would be fine.A week later the same thing happened. This time around I asked them to take a look at the issue. I once again was told that the problem was fixed and that the codes just needed to be reset. The check engine light would come on regularly and I was always told the same thing - that it was due to the software update but the car had no issues.I took my car in to the dealership right before 50,000 miles and before the warranty expired to have an oil change and at that time I was told that the car had an oil leak and the fuel pump had to be replaced. They replaced it and reset the codes once again. I explained the car was not driving properly, as it would jolt and it wouldnt accelerate. The service rep said he would check on that and make the necessary repairs. I left the dealership and on my way home the service engine light came on once again. I went back to the dealership and was told they needed to reset the codes again.A few months later, I noticed the car was leaking oil and the engine was not running properly. The service engine light was also back on. I took it to the dealership and was told it was the fuel pump, and there was a problem with the turbochargers and engine. I was told it would not be covered under the warranty as the warranty had just expired. I had them do them complete the repairs as it was necessary. In less than 24 months, Ive had to have the fuel pump and oil gaskets replaced three times. The car went into limp mode as I was driving on a busy intersection and just turned off in the middle of traffic, putting my life as well as other drivers lives in danger. I was struck from behind by a van because the driver didnt anticipate me just stopping without warning. This a huge safety issue and BMW needs to be held accountable for withholding this information from customers. I had to have my car towed to the dealership and they refuse to warranty the defective items.I called BMW North America and spoke Leah in Customer Affairs and she informed me that it was up to the dealership if they wanted to apply the warranty or not. She said it is not up to the corporate office to make those decisions. I also demanded a copy of all my service maintenance records from the BMW dealership where I had the car serviced and they refused to provide them to me.I asked to speak to a supervisor and was transferred to Ross at BMW corporate office. I told him I wanted a copy of all my maintenance records from the SM BMW dealership emailed to me, as I couldnt go there in person but needed to the records to show proof that I had the fuel pump repaired numerous times. He told me he called over to the dealership and requested the records but they refused to email them to me and proceeded to say that they dont have to give me those records.I was beyond appalled that I would be treated that way, after all I had been through given they sold me a product with a manufacturers defect. I explained that the dealership was charging me over $5,500 for the fuel pump and oil gasket repair, yet I had already paid over $8,000 to have it repaired numerous times. The dealership refused to warranty the defective items. I am beyond disgusted with their lies, fraudulent practices and their sheer incompetence. Ive decided to retain legal counsel at this point.

Also, called local dealerships (Norwood, MA) for a scheduled oil change and to handle the recalls. I cant get into to the dealership till about 3 weeks later with a loaner. If I had a cheaper: Toyota, Honda, Nissan, that definitely is not the case. Those dealers can accommodate in a few days. I love to drive the BMW 640i (plus the look). And people love the look too. Its fun, responsive, fast, gorgeous, awesome driving machine, tight (no rattles or squeaks), super-incredible convertible and eye catching! You feel totally in control when driving this 6 series car. Turning radius is awesome too! Need acceleration? No problem. Ever. Fully loaded this car does almost everything! Cameras all around can show if you are evenly in a parking space! Write addresses on the ceramic dial for navigation. Or talk to the car to get directions or to make a call on the phone. On cruise control, it will slow itself if a car gets too close! One touch and the convertible top opens or closes by itself. Check the car, unlock it, turn on the lights, or even sound the horn from my phone! Or turn on the ventilation in the car from my phone if it is too hot out so the car will be cooler when I get in! And if I need any kind of help - at all - I can contact my “always there” BMW assist! They will answer questions, send directions, give suggestions, talk to me, read to me, anything! Seems like there is nothing that this car isn’t able to do! Cannot imagine a better-looking or driving vehicle!!!

My car battery suddenly died on my new 335i 2011. They wanted $195.00 to diagnose the battery and $435.00 (totaling $630.00 for parts, not including labor). What use is a warranty if you have to pay as much to repair it if it was out of warranty? It took them 2 days to diagnose it, and they wanted to keep my car over the weekend. Its not rocket science to replace a dead battery. Its literally a 5 minute job. Im disappointed at the amount of my time that they have wasted. The battery only charges to 10.6 volts (dead cell, faulty product). I have completely lost faith in BMW. I have had transmission problems since 5,000 miles (2nd gear synchro 6MT) that the dealer has failed to replace under warranty. When I purchased the car, it came with 2 bad rims.Heres my current BMW Warranty experience: Did the custom-ordered car come with bad rims? Blame customer. Is the car transmission failing at 5,000 Miles? Blame customer. Does the car battery have dead cells? Blame customer. There is poor communication with customers and lack of communication.

I have recently bought myself a 530D BMW, FPJ875MP, from the Zambesi BMW dealership in Pretoria. I based my purchase on the following reasons; safety of my family, whom I believe we all value. I have always associated BMW with high standards in terms of safety and service delivery. This was still my opinion even after I purchased the vehicle. Looking back now, I feel the sales person did not portray the actual facts about the vehicle that was sold to me. If I purchased the vehicle from a private dealer then I understand the risk, however, I came to a reputable dealership to avoid any complications associated with purchasing vehicles from private owners or private dealerships.I work abroad for long periods at a time and last week, January 3, my wife was on her way back to Secunda, at night, on the N17 when the right rear wheel burst at 120km/hour, with other traffic around them. She managed to avoid a serious accident and bring the vehicle to a stop on the side of the road. This left my family stranded next to a location close to Carnival City. She was assisted by a stranger, who advised her to move the vehicle for safety reasons to the nearest bridge, where he assisted her to change the wheel. First and foremost, the salesman assured me that the vehicle had gone through the BMW Quality Assurance and that the vehicle had been serviced. I was not given any record of either. After a month, the service light came on, upon which we contacted the salesman. He advised me to bring the vehicle in for a service, which took one whole week. The spare wheel was taken out of the vehicle and not returned until we questioned the salesman. The salesman also promised us lock nuts for the vehicle upon purchase on which he has not delivered. On January 4, she went to a tire dealership, who on inspection, discovered that the wheels, both rear wheels were running on the wire on the inside and that being the reason for the tire ending up like it did. Upon purchasing this vehicle, the sales consultant informed me that he had placed two new tires on the vehicle and I am failing to understand how these could be worn out like it was over a couple of months. Both my wife and I are conservative drivers. Upon purchase of the vehicle, it had four run flats. However, when receiving the vehicle, he had placed the ordinary tires on the vehicle.Over and above everything, I purchased a BMW from a BMW dealership because I trust the brand and also associated it with quality. As you can imagine, my wife has lost faith in the brand as well as its representatives. She was shaken up by the incident and the lack of integrity from a sales point of view is very poor. I purchased this vehicle from a BMW dealership to avoid all the complications that I have not avoided. I now want to know, what you are going to do about it.

Was recently informed by BMW they are no longer supporting BMW ASSIST which is a feature that INCLUDED (past tense) collision detection as well as stolen vehicle recovery along with other functionality such as being able to send Google directions to the vehicle. My X5 is a 2012 (!) vehicle!!! With all the BS advertising BMW has out there about how great their cars are and how safety is a great concern for their customers, trying to get an answer other than we are sorry for any disappointment this may cause you is totally and complete BS!The manner I found out about their decision to stop supporting these features is not because I purchased one of their vehicles (brand new) but because I noticed the ability to send directions to my vehicle was not working. Pretty pathetic manner to manage customer loyalty. BUYER BEWARE if buying a used BMW... UNDERSTAND CLEARLY your vehicle based on whatever year it may be (2013 BACK...??!) will not have important safety features such as collision detection nor stolen vehicle recovery... period. If I had not purchased an extended warranty to 100 K miles I would be selling this thing ASAP. Will be a cold day in hell before I purchase another vehicle from this company.

I was driving my 2013 BMW 328xi with family in Toronto in busy traffic on Nov 1, 2014 & suddenly the cars engine stops and all power features stop working. I managed to glide the car to the curve amidst busy traffic switching lanes with my hazard on and barely averting a collision. The dashboard monitor stated something about the start/stop ignition. I attempted to start the car and it would turn briefly but would not start. After several attempts I called BMW roadside assistance. After being left on hold sometime, I was advised a tow truck would arrive at 5:50 pm, it was 4:30 pm. I advised them the car was not safe as the busy road was full of fast moving traffic on Mount Pleasant North of Moore. The individual at the call center claimed he could not do anything. I called my older son to pick up my wife & son with hockey gear and shopping.Exactly at around 5:50 pm a flat bed tow truck arrived with we buy scrap cars inscribed on the truck (not kidding). The tow truck driver attempted to start the car and mentioned he was unable to put the car in neutral. He asked it could damage the car if he pulled it onto the truck. I again called BMW roadside assistance and the individual (now supervisor) asked I sign a waiver to take responsibility for any damage caused by their towing. I refused and the man was argumentative. The Tow truck driver suggested another tow truck with rollers and stated he would not take responsibility without a waiver. Another hour passed before the next tow truck arrived. It was a cold evening in Toronto and I asked BMW roadside assistance if they could shuttle me home after the car was towed. I was told I need to go with the tow truck. Upon arriving at the dealership it was closed and the security mentioned there was nowhere for me to wait. (No news yet from roadside assistance.) By this time I had chatted prior with BMW roadside assistance individuals in Chicago, Toronto, Florida and Winnipeg (they kept transferring me). The Winnipeg girl finally called a taxi while I waited for another hour in the cold (I could have called a taxi or got a ride myself if they had not insisted I stay with the car earlier). I had to pay for the taxi anyhow and was provided a budget of $100 after I asked. The Winnipeg girl stated they may reimburse me and she would email info. (The email arrived two days later with completely different information.) No courtesy car. I must say the roadside assistance (call center) experience was poor. I had to call several times and often they would place me on hold or they just hung up after 20-30 min on hold. They kept sending electronic voice messages asking if things had been taken care, while I was telling them they had not. A couple of women were good but did not have answers and they even gave the wrong information about rental cars claiming none were available in the entire City of Toronto. To end my evening, the taxi driver turned out to be a racist maniac from Beck Taxi. I told him to stop at Yonge and Lawrence, I paid him (he insisted on cash as his machine was in the trunk). I ran over to Starbucks and waited for a ride home back to Bathurst and Eglinton. What a nightmare! The dealer was excellent and they fixed the problem in two business days. However the same new car also had a brake problem a couple of months prior and cost $1,200 for new brakes (the downtown Toronto dealer claimed it was not covered under warranty at 30,000 km). The car had speedometer problem and showed service was overdue (at minus -7000 km), the car had been serviced a couple of months prior. Luckily this one is a leased car, however after driving BMWs for the past 10-12 years I am concerned the new 3 Series appear to have problems. I hope they take note and sort out the problems.

When we spoke on December 9, 2011, about the poor experiences at the service department, I was hopeful that it would not repeat itself in the near future. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, I must report to you of the poor service yet again experienced. Whether or not you or anyone else cares, I leave that up to your business decisions; however, from the consumers stand point, if asked about my experiences at Silver Spring BMW, I would have to inform then that purchasing the vehicle was great; however, the service department is the worse that I have seen in more than 34 years of driving. As anyone knows, any vehicle needs servicing over the life time, but think twice about purchasing a vehicle from Silver Spring BMW because the service department is just poor. People are polite and they have a smile on their faces but what is promised to the customer is not given to the customer.I will be happy to meet with you to inform you of my experience, but yet again, an appointment was set on December 9, 2011, for this day (December 20, 2011) at 7:30 am. And, despite several email reminders that my appointment was scheduled at 7:30am, and an assurance from Juan L/N/U that I could be taken at 7:30 am, and being the second vehicle waiting at the front doors to open, I had to wait because my advisor had another previously scheduled customer. I decided to leave in complete disgust with the overall operation and process. Whether or not you have a Good Ole Boy system in place, who knows. And of course, a business is welcomed to have a Good Ole Boy system in place; if that is your business model, thats your choice and customers should know.Nevertheless, when you believe that Silver Spring BMW is able to schedule an appointment at an appropriate time to have my windshield repairs, please advice. Of course, I am left to the mercy of Silver Spring BMW. Thanking you in advance for your time and attention to this matter. Have a Happy Holiday Season.

It sounds like a tractor and it drives like one. Engine is struggeling under 3000 rpm and above it, the vibrations are so severe that you will think twice about driving above 60 miles per hour for extended periods of time. The Rotax engine is the worst engine I have ever driven. Good for your lawnmower but that,s it. And, in my opinion, not worthy of the BMW badge.Pro,s: it is reliable, cheap to maintain, and easy to handle.

My 2017 X1 was blacked out and completely died while entering the freeway. The BMW computer system failed to alert or display any warnings about the faulty battery or vehicle. We were unable to turn on the hazard light to alert the other drivers. All we could do was praying that the police will show up before we get hit by other vehicles. BMW of North America has refused to accept any liabilities for the defective battery used to build the X1.

I bought an 18 month old BMW 520d 2010 version on the basis of the fuel economy stats of 60+ mpg on the open road and 44 mpg in urban areas. I purchased the car from Vines Approved BMW dealer in Guildford, Surrey, UK. In practice, the car is only giving me 40 mpg on the open road and 25 in urban areas. I was given an as new warranty from the dealer and they have fully checked the car and they say that all the parts work fine, .etc but the practical answer is that they dont. A gap of 20mpg between advertised and actual performance is simply not close enough to be ignored. My legal question relates to the product description being completely misleading in their advertising and now they are hiding behind parts performance rather than the operating performance that they sell the car on. I have asked for them to either buy the car back or give me compensation based upon actual performance relative to that which is promised and they have rejected me. I would be most interested to know if others have had similar experience and whether I have legal grounds to pursue them.

I am the sole owner of a 2007 BMW X-3. I have had my car serviced at South BMW in Miami, FL. I have owned this car continuously since 2007. I was to be a loyal BMW owner until a recent discovery. The right rear motor mount bracket screws (the four bolts broke off), the engine is not sitting properly and the transmission is making a discernible noise. I only drive on city streets and highways. I am not an off-road driver and this vehicle has not been involved in any type of accident. The BMW warranty covered my vehicle to 50,000 miles. I did not purchase the extended warranty (maintenance warranty offered by the dealership) as it covered nothing. I am afraid that the engine will fall out of the vehicle, causing bodily injury or maybe even a fatality. I noticed that you already have one complaint about this same issue. Please help me. I am not asking for you to replace my vehicle, just fix it to where I can drive it again without fear.

BMW NA does not want to take responsibility for the defective airbag sensor
BMW NA does not want to take responsibility for the defective airbag sensor on my vehicle. I was driving on I-880 in Hayward, going about 70 mph, and the driver-side door and curtain airbags deployed suddenly. There was absolutely no impact to the vehicle (1999 BMW 323i). The road was very smooth and gravel-free. I pulled to the side of the freeway, a very unsafe area in that location. My vehicle wouldnt start back up due to a safety feature in the safety terminal of the battery. I contacted BMW NA and it took them close to two weeks to get an engineer to look at my car. I received a call from the claim representative and she told me that the airbags deployed because my car is not new.” After rebutting that ridiculous statement, she proceeded to find another answer (other than the airbag sensor is defective, of course). The engineer found there was some kind of impact to the car. I know there was no impact because I was driving my vehicle. I requested documentation for my records and the claim representative told me she cannot give me any documents because the findings are internal information and she cannot give that information out. She proceeded to offer that BMW NA will pay for the damaged parts, but I had to pay for the labor, which would cost a minimum of $4,200. The manufacturer should hold full responsibility for the damages. If BMW NA believed they were not responsible for the incident, why would they offer even one penny toward fixing the damages? I believe that a class-action suit should be pursued. There have been many incidents reported about this same situation. My vehicle was manufactured in December of 1998, one of the first vehicles ever manufactured for the model year 1999. Naturally, there would be some bugs/defects with my vehicle, especially considering that there is a recall for the airbag system on 1999 BMW 323is (but only for the 1999 323is manufactured between April and August of 1999). Please help. I will try to round up as many people with this same issue and have them file complaints as well.

My speedometer in my brand new car is off by 10% and when I brought it in to BMW Spokane for correction, was told BMW has a disclaimer for accuracy of their speedometers. WTF? Having several other electronic issues like the radio randomly shutting itself off, seat cooler and armrest heaters turning themselves on and the XM radio rerunning the program from about 5 minutes back if for some reason, I briefly lose connection like driving through downtown or something. My Toyota gave none of these problems, nor does my sons Subaru. Also they dont provide a courtesy vehicle in Spokane citing the global supply chain. I could go on about the service dept in Spokane which has been another BMW disappointment. Glad Toyota isnt impacted in that way. Dropping a 130 grand on a car I thought I would have for years is embarrassing as I dont have that new car joy. I dislike my car and will never buy another BMW.

I bought a certified pre-owned 2007 X3 in 2009, which luckily means I have a warranty till 2013. When I bought it in May 2009, it had the service engine light on and dealer tells me its due service and will do it the week after. Ever since, the light keeps coming up every 2 months, and the dealer takes a week to do something. Then he tells me that they do whatever BMW tells them to do and gives it back saying that the problem has been resolved. So far, I have had at least ten such trips. The last two trips are taking much longer. The last trip took 19 days about month and half ago. I went in again on Nov 28th and it is still being looked at. The dealer has provided me a loaner car so I dont have a major hassle as a result. But it is amazing that this supposedly superior engineering company cannot figure out after so many tries why the stupid light comes on. Can any one really trust their advanced systems like iDrive and so on to actually work? Is BMW more of a superior marketing engine as opposed to a superior engineering company? The evidence suggests that they are definitely a superior marketing company.

Got a flat on tires designed to go 50 miles, but only got 5 miles before it was on the rim. Didnt know I didnt have a spare... never told me when leasing my 2014 X5. The nice lady on the roadside assistance call, said that she would send a tow truck to tow my car 60 miles (I would have to pay and be reimbursed by BMW) to the nearest dealer, but that unfortunately, since it was Sunday night and I was 150 miles from home, in the rain, that I would have to find a place to stay. Again at my expense, and find a way to get to that dealer, 60 miles away and get my car back on Monday sometime.... I didnt, called friends who came and fixed the flat. Then on Monday BMW said sorry for your inconvenience, expense and disappointment.... but thats the way it is, and the expense of the tire, rim, and service was mine... since I didnt have insurance. I purchased a used 2005 BMW 525i almost two years ago and it had 52,000 miles on it. Thank goodness I decided to purchase an extended warranty through my lender because at 75,000 miles or so, my transmission started acting up. This vehicle has not been neglected and has been taken good care of. However, I had transmission fault messages on my computer, so I took it in. Turns out that my transmission needed to be replaced. After my $7,000 transmission was put in, I still had problems. They reprogrammed the vehicle to try and fix the problem, and Im still having problems. Its also really slow on take off and it shifts from 2nd to 3rd really hard. And when I slow down, it shifts really hard from 2nd to 1st. All in all, my warranty company has paid out over $10,000 in repairs over the past two years, almost half of what I paid for the vehicle. That is just ridiculous. Ive read so many peoples horror stories about their BMWs transmissions failing and I just wanted to share my story too. I know that BMW is not taking responsibility for any of their vehicles so I felt like I should share. The more people that come forward, the better. Maybe one day BMW will own up to producing some rotten transmissions in their vehicles. All I can say is thank goodness for warranties. But its not about that. Its about your car, your BMW that you love so much, being in service for a month, and having issue after issue. Its frustrating and BMW needs to to tighten up their products.

Driving along and all of the sudden a fan came on with a loud blowing sound. I parked my car and planned to take it to the shop the next day. I checked the coolant, it was a little low so I added. The next while on the way to the shop, still loud blowing, the engine overheat warning came on. I pulled over and towed to the shop. As soon as they hear the fan come on, they said immediately, the water pump failed - We get about 4 or 5 a week on this car. As a result, I have to replace a water pump, and cracked radiator, $2,000. I check the internet and found many, many of the same complaints. I read that there was a recall for the X5s with the V8 engine. I imagine the design is the same and therefore the recall should include the V6 engine as well.

In 2014 I decided I wanted to drive the ultimate driving machine. What a mistake. I asked my cousin who works at a dealership to locate something for me. In June 2014 I purchased my 2011 BMW 328i xdrive SULEV with 29k. I purchased extended warranty and Gap insurance for slightly over $30,000. I realized I overpaid but I was okay with it because I really wanted this vehicle. A few months into it my car began shaking violently and had a very rough idle. I had to replace spark plugs and coils. A few months after that it started having electrical problems. The car would turn off the heat, ac, radio, and lights. I had to replace an electrical module at 45k. I contacted BMW and they offered to pay 95%. I was satisfied until another few months went by and my car kept stalling, launching itself into traffic, shutting off and turning back on while I was on the highway, and wouldnt keep momentum. Turns out the fuel line broke off in my tank and I needed to replace the fuel tank at 50k. I called BMW again and they offered to replace it with only $250 out of my pocket... At this point I decided this car is a nightmare and I wanted out. Too upside down to replace it I decided Ive replaced enough and it should be good to go for a few years. NOW its idling rough again, hesitating to move and shaking violently once again. BMW offered me a $1,000 loyalty to trade out but dealerships are only offering $15,000 and I owe $26,000. For the age and mileage of this vehicle I should not have had it in the shop more than 5 times for serious maintenance. This car is a nightmare!!!! I would NEVER recommend BMW to friends or family members unless they dont mind having it in the shop more than on the road. Between electrical issues, faulty fuel pump/fuel line, coils, and an obnoxious ticking sound I have more of a headache than an ultimate driving machine. Its more like the ultimate pain in the butt. The cigarette lighter has never worked so I cannot plug in a GPS. When I have my ipod or Pandora playing the radio will randomly change the song or shut my music off and default to the radio. It also gets so hot that the radio stops working and says HIGH TEMP. It overheats and wont play music and turns off the AC or the heat randomly. For the price of these vehicles new and pre-owned they should not have THIS many issues. I have less than 65k on it and it constantly fails me. BMW is by far the worst vehicle I have ever owned. If youre considering a luxury brand try Lexus or Infiniti. BMWs are a waste of money!!

For the past 10 months I have been unsuccessful in getting BMW North America to pay a rebate. If this was the first time I would accept this as just bad luck - however in ALL cases that I have applied for rebates the same BMW policy/process has been adopted to reject a rebate claim regardless if all documents have been submitted correctly. BMW should not offer rebates if the intent is not to pay the rebate or they make it so difficult that the average person just gives up as the rebate value does not warrant the effort.I have received excellent (amazing) service from Darian BMW for the past 7 years, however BMWs corporate policy regarding automatic rejection of rebates is an unethical business practice and is going to drive customers like myself to support competing manufacturer like Discovery who honor their programs and pay rebates promptly. I have applied for 3 rebates in the past 6 years from BMW, with only one rebate been paid after many months of continues arguments and re-submissions.Rebate 1: After months of following up I was informed that the first rebate was received by BMW but the voucher needed to be submitted by myself as the program had ended. BMW North America informed me that it is the customers responsibility to retain advertising documents as proof of rebate. As I did not retain a copy of the advertising documents, and was unable to get a copy from BMW the claim was rejected and not paid.Rebate 2: I submitted a rebate claim with advertising documents and BMW invoice. As with rebate 1 the application was in the system and been processed, however after 3 months of continues follow-up I was informed that the application was rejected as not all of the paperwork was received (even though BMW had confirmed previously that documents had been received and payment was been processed). In this case I had proof of submission and that all paperwork was provided.BMW apologized and said they would process, however 2 months later I followed up to query why I did not receive the rebate. BMW informed me that they are unable to process the rebate as they have no record of the rebate program. Having learnt from the first rebate I retained all documents. I resubmitted (3 times) the paperwork with a copy of the rebate advertising documents etc. BMW once again apologized and finally processed the rebate. Total process time over 8 months with numerous calls, emails and re-submissions.Rebate 3: Rebate 3 was submitted with Rebate 2 (same time) as the work was completed at the same time. BMW received all paperwork but in this case BMW North America forgot to process this rebate with rebate 2. BMW apologized and at first agreed to honor the rebate. After 9 months of continues follow-up BMW North America have informed me that they do not have the money to pay this rebate and that payment will need to be processed from BMW Germany? BMW North America acknowledge receipt of all the paperwork including the advertising documents. Today (02/07/2017) I receive a call from BMW North America notifying me that I am refusing to submit the paperwork and therefore BMW are unable to process the rebate???

I have had a love affair with BMW since the mid 1990s, however Im sorry to say that relationship is on the rocks. Having had 3 brand new BMW cars and one new BMW motorcycle I can now say that BMW quality is no longer a corporate mandate, just a slogan. What was once (with proper care) a vehicle that you could rely on, be proud of and enjoy has become the brand of what next. I say this as my X3 sits in a service bay to replace the drivers side mirror which fell off! $1300 To replace something not broken not damaged but the latest in a long line part failures that was preceded by a motorcycle that I literally had to throw away. WHAT? Yes a 2003 R1200C with less than 12000 miles stored in my hanger that in 2014 turned into junk because of cheap manufacturing processes, poor quality wiring and metal plating that literally fell off. Sound familiar, among exterior body reflectors and interior parts that have fallen off or delaminated on the X3 the one that has convinced me is the drivers door handle that is slowly turning into black goop and when I showed it to the service writer he said and I quote On the earlier models you had to replace the entire door panel.... As I said in the beginning not worth the money, because you are paying for quality that is no longer there.

My new 750 Li X has been at the Bayside BMW dealer for 1 month. I have also contacted customer service at BMW USA . They havent fixed the car, the dealer lies and misrepresents the work orders. The company is run like a fraud. Also, BMW USA tell you the same lies . When I went today to pick up the car, the manager refused to test drive the auto so I could see if it worked, the staff is nasty and when I decided not to take the car until they assured me it was repaired. I got back into the loaner car, at which time, one of the staff banged on back of the car as I was backing up. That staff person then claimed that I ran into him. The police were contacted and the man who said I hit him decided to fake he was hurt. An ambulance was called and off he went to a hospital. The whole thing is one big scam to cover up that the central computer on these cars malfunction. These are expensive autos and they should not be sold in the US until someone looks into all of the complaints. You cant make this stuff up, but BMW should be held accountable for punitive damages.

There are problems with the car from poor workmanship that BMW wont address that are expensive to repair. As a result I will never buy another BMW. During the years around the time my car was manufactured, BMW had a wiring problem with the backup and tail lights, but refuses to accept ownership to correct the problem.

While headed to vacation from New Jersey to Canada, our BMW 328i xDrive beg
While headed to vacation from New Jersey to Canada, our BMW 328i xDrive began to experience a tapping sound from the engine and shortly thereafter, the check engine light lit up, at which point we used the BMW Assist feature for advice and to locate the nearest BMW Dealer. Explaining our situation to the BMW Representative, we asked for the nearest BMW dealer. Unfortunately they were over a hundred miles away, but the BMW representative informed us that we could continue to drive the vehicle with the service engine light on indefinitely as long as it wasnt red or flashing. We thanked her and proceeded on our journey. A couple of hours later, the tapping turned into a knocking sound and we again used the BMW Assist feature who located a dealer in Rochester, NY. She proceeded to place a 3-way call and remained in the background to listen. We were informed from the dealer that they could not get us in, but he reiterated that we could continue to drive the vehicle with the service engine light on indefinitely as long as it wasnt red or flashing. We continued into Canada, checked into a hotel, and parked the car for the night, searching the internet to locate the closest dealer which turned out to be Performance BMW in St. Catherines Ontario. We brought the car to Performance BMW in St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada in the hopes that they could have a look to diagnose the problem.Tanya ** was very understanding and sympathetic to our situation and she got our car right into a bay for diagnosis. We sat patiently for almost 2 hours until we were informed that it is taking longer to figure out the problem, and that BMW uses Enterprise Rental rather than loaner BMWs and we were put into a Hyundai Sonata, which is NOWHERE near a comparable vehicle to what I have purchased. After returning to the dealer to get the remainder of our luggage, Tanya informed us that as soon as they have a diagnosis, they would contact us.We returned to the dealer the following day hoping to get the car, and continue our vacation to New Hampshire, when we were informed that the main bearing of the crankshaft was the problem, and that the parts have to be ordered from Germany, which would take anywhere from 3-6 weeks plus the time needed to put everything back together. We were advised that Performance BMW could only cover the rental for the end of the day (second day) and that we would have to cover the remaining rental time, and then submit our expenses as part of the trip interruption clause, but there is no guarantee that it will be reimbursed. We have made several attempts to contact BMW North America. All we have been told is that until we have our vehicle back & submit our expenses, BMW North America will take the expenses under consideration for reimbursement. This is unacceptable.BMW of Mt. Laurel (purchasing dealer), indicated that if we had brought our car there for repairs, we would have received a loaner car until our vehicle was complete; and Performance BMW indicated that if we had purchased the vehicle in Canada, and brought it there for repairs, we would have received a loaner car until our vehicle was complete; but since a foreign dealer is working on a foreign car, neither dealer wants to cover the cost of the BMW loaner vehicle that we are entitled to let alone figure how to get it back to us.Once the car has been repaired and everything is in working order, we now have a new problem. We already took our vacation, now we have to take time off work to get our vehicle that failed. In addition, we now have a new car that had to have its engine rebuilt with less than 30,000 miles...not only will it affect our comfort level in this vehicle (do we take it on a trip, will it break down, what will it cost, etc.) but now we feel that this will affect the trade-in value of the car. I have spoken w/ several service advisers and sales personnel all said that this engine issue is not at all common, and the work will not affect the value of the car. However, I do not believe that is an accurate statement. There has to be something that can/will be done by BMW to correct this issue. At this point, I feel that BMW should replace the vehicle w/ a comparable BMW. If your resolve of this matter is not to our satisfaction, we will have no other choice but to leave the BMW and purchase a better quality luxury vehicle.

I am very disappointed with the service I have received from the dealership
I am very disappointed with the service I have received from the dealerships in the Atlanta, GA area. I purchased my car on January 15, 2015 and it was one of the proudest moments in my life. I have had to take the car in several time because of the oil leak and I was told by the 2 separate dealership that they cant find an oil leak. I took my car to a certified BMW mechanic and he informed me that there is a known oil leak with BMW 750li NG3 engine but BMW refuse to fix or change the engine. I got up this morning and wrote a letter of complaint and when I was looking for the Customer Complaint information for BMW I found this website. I went through and read all the posted complaints and I see I am not the only owner who is having oil leak and my air conditioner going out.It seem to be a big problem with BMWs and I am very disappointed but I refuse to drive a car that smokes, leaking oil and the air conditioner not cooling properly. I work for a major transportation company and I am going to be sure I let everyone I work with know the problems I am having with the so call Ultimate Driving Machine. Sounds like I bought a Lemon so if we are going for action lawsuit count me in. I agree that the 750li should considered a LEMON.

My name is Anura, and Im from Chino Hills, California. Exactly 1 (one) week after my 72 months/100,000 miles warranty on my BMW 745 Lis was expired, I started to experience series of expensive car repairs. First, it got overheated and smoke started coming out of engine without a prior warning, after driving to Long Beach, California, just 45 miles with my family. I had to change all the plans and have it towed to my mechanic. It ended up costing me nearly $2,600 worth of repair work before getting the car back. A month or so later my transmission started slipping. This cost me another $3,100. 6 months later, I took it in to have it checked for serious oil and coolant leak problems. They had to change the valve cover gasket, coolant sensor and some coolant hoses, costing me another $3,600. Now Im having a serious smoking (out of tail pipe) problem, which will not make it pass the smog test. I got an estimate of $3,600 to fix that problem. Additionally, I have all kinds of flashing warning lights on the dash board. I hate to admit, if I want to go somewhere without having to worry about breaking down on the way, I wouldnt dare take my luxury BMW 745 Li, but rather my back up pick up truck Nissan Frontier. I intend to file a Lemon on this. If anyone has any advice or tips, please contact me at **. Thanks.

I brought my car in for an issue dealing with the airbag light illuminated on my dashboard. After being given an appointment 3 weeks after I asked for one, I was told that it was a seat motor issue and that the car thinks there is a passenger in the seat and will activate even if none is sitting there in an accident. The repair would cost over $1500. I rejected the offer but asked if they could take off the warning light. They said that it was impossible, that only if they repaired it could that happen. As I was waiting for the return of my car, they told me that now my passenger window wouldnt go up (although not even 20 minutes earlier I had raised it). I was told that the part was a window motor and it would cost $180. Since I had no choice, but found it highly coincidental, I agreed. They kept the car, but did give me a loaner, for 3 days. When I went to pick it up, they had charged me for 2 diagnosis, and $250 for the part. When I said I was told it was $180 the gentleman told Thats the price. $250. I paid. When I got in the car magically the airbag warning had disappeared. I then contacted BMW Canada complaint department. Then I received a phone call from the service department asking me about my experience. I told him and he said the manager would call me back that day. He never did. I called back BMW Canada and they said they would have him call me. Again he never did. After a week I called BMW Canada to complain again and they called him and transferred the call to me. I asked the complaint department to stay on the line as I spoke with him. She said she could not but to call her back after my call with him.I spoke with him for about 5 minutes. He was belligerent and kept saying they were not thieves. He would not give me an explanation as to how this could have happened. Since I was getting nowhere with him, I hung up and called back the complaint department again at BMW Canada. The woman had left for the day (16:00hr). I left numerous messages for BMW Canada to call me and finally heard back. They say there is nothing they can do other than when the dealership comes up for review, bring it up. If this is how BMW deals with their clients, I promise you this will be my last BMW.

I recently waited 3:15 minutes in my car for the towing company that BMW contracted to get to me. Im in the Chicago metro area. There are literally hundreds of towing companies and absolutely NO reason for this to happen. I hit a pothole and blew out my right front tire. I called BMW RA and received the confirmation email and ETA at 4:14 pm. The ETA for the tow truck was originally set for 5:53 pm, a full 90 minutes from the time I placed the call. That time came and went and no tow truck. I called back and BMW RA said, We contacted them, they are running a little behind and will be there in 30 min. That was a bold-faced lie, because I then received another text from R.A. stating that the NEW ETA was 6:40 pm, which was a full HOUR longer. 6:40 pm came and went and I called AGAIN. I was told at that point, We contacted the company and the driver is 15 minutes away. That was a bold-faced lie because shortly after that call I received another text changing the ETA to 7:12 pm. I called back and started screaming and they said they contacted a 2nd towing company just in case the original company didnt show. At 7:30 pm a different company showed up and that driver showed me his phone to prove to me that he had just been dispatched 15 min. earlier. The original company NEVER SHOWED. This is proof that the BMW RA people were lying right to my face and is also BEYOND PATHETIC that I had to wait in my car for 3:15 min. no bathroom, no food, running out of gas in the Winter in Chicago. This is the 2nd bad experience Ive had with BMW Roadside Assist. and I have to tell you I will think twice about purchasing another BMW. I didnt have these issues with Mercedes.

My 1999 740IL has a transmission that cannot be serviced. It is a closed system. You cannot check, or change fluids, or filters in the car, except at a great cost, and most dealers will not touch the transmission, including fluid changes, and flushes. My transmission failed after 208,000 miles, and after having serviced the car regularly, the model is marked by water pump failures, and engine seals that refuse to be sealed. In other words, beyond the superb engine and suspension system, BMWs are lemons, awaiting the unwary. The car is now undergoing its annual six months downtime between major repairs to the aforementioned parts. Now, add a failed transmission to engine seals, water pumps, radiators, and the random electrical failures.

I own a 650I, bought it from BMW dealer, always had it serviced by BMW dealer. At around 80,000 miles after having repeated problems with transmission, I was told I needed a new transmission and it was not covered by warranty. Also was told I need engine rebuilt! And also out of warranty! This car cost over $100,000, what type of valve stem guides do they use that they wear out at such low miles, not to mention a transmission, both items last longer on a $30,000 Honda... How pathetic!I spoke with BMW North America. They refused to warranty the defective items, and if one would check the new engines in BMWs, they would find most are burning oil very prematurely because the new engine design is built with sub par parts... This is a car costing over $100,000.00. I am disgusted with this horrible excuse of a luxury vehicle and more so the haughty attitude of BMW. One more thing, the dealer I was using Checkered Flag is horrible. They returned my car after a service, 4 quarts low on oil. When I called them, they said the oil sensor was faulty, when actually it was their lazy and inept service approach. I have engaged the services of a lawyer on this one!

I purchased this vehicle brand new. During the warranty period, there were issues that were resolved. However, at only 67k miles the car is no longer under warranty and starting to fall apart. My problems have been a bad blower motor, steering angle sensor and water pump. Its unfortunate that BMW strives on quality when their vehicles cannot reach 100k. From my experience, BMW is overrated and their customer service is even worse.

This happened to my vehicle in March and was misdiagnosed by the dealer. Leak reoccurred in the exact spot of a new tank 2 months after replacing, resulting in damage to DMTL and charcoal canister. After this repair many times Engine Fault on my board computer BMW X6. After Engine Fault a complete loss of power. Very danger! Every time in BMW service they told me... Dont worry.. we will repair it. After BMW service -car repair - a new both turbo there - but next ENGINE FAULT, BMW service-car repair- a new injections there - but next ENGINE FAULT, BMW service-car repair- a new cylinders, but next ENGINE FAULT, BMW service-car repair-a new injections again, but next ENGINE FAULT. Re: 2007X3. Many times since, approximately the vehicle had 60K miles, prior to my 100k miles warranty running out, even though I was experiencing problems with my transmission (i.e. not shifting properly, clunking when shifting, noise and jerking when shifting), the Service Dept. told me there was nothing wrong. Now that I have 120k miles on it and my X3 will not go into AWD, I am told by Erhard that my transmission differential needs a $1,400 repair. I have never missed maintenance and at the last maintenance, I was complaining about my transmission.I would like my transmission problem fixed at no cost to me. It seems BMW, blew me off to get me through until my warranty was up (extended to 100k that I paid for). Very disappointing and too costly for me. My wife and I both own BMWs and will be going to a different make vehicle because of the deceitful treatment I have received. Something should be done about BMWs lack of responsibility when it comes to taking care of warranty issues.

I purchased a certified pre-owned 2007 BMW 550i in 2009. There was a sporadic problem with the Sirius radio where it wouldnt change stations. I brought it in for service while the car was still under the original warranty to have it fixed. The service techs at Stevens Creek BMW could not reproduce the problem. The problem persists and I have brought it back in two more times but they can never reproduce the problem. I demanded that the radio be replaced and was refused. I called BMW customer relations and talked with Elizabeth ** at length about the issue. They refused to replace the radio because they cant reproduce the problem (which is pretty ridiculous since I reproduce it several times each week). Their logic is completely circular: they cant reproduce the problem it it doesnt exist. Transcript of conversation: So Im a liar? Oh, no, we believe you. So fix it. We cant fix it because we cant reproduce it and besides your CPO warranty wont cover it. But I reported the problem when the car was still under the original warranty. We couldnt reproduce it so we cant replace it under warranty. The Sirius radio is practically unusable. I spent a lot of money on this car. Its supposed to be the ultimate driving machine which I would think includes having a radio that works. This is just incredibly frustrating. The CPO warranty is completely worthless. The car also has crumbling front and rear window seals (on a 4-year-old car!) which the CPO warranty doesnt cover.I will never buy another BMW and I highly recommend that you dont either.

After buying a BMW, I was getting some indications that some general service work needed to be completed. After bringing my car into the local BMW dealer, Bill Jacobs BMW, my work was completed under warranty as well as additional items that they told me that needed to be fixed. Some of the items like brakes were also fixed and I was told that they were covered with the maintenance agreement that came with the car. I was surprised to learn that brakes were covered because they are not normally covered. I remember being told by the staff at BIll Jacobs BMW that BMW maintenance agreement is real good and covers a lot of stuff not typically covered.A month or so later, I was getting calls from Bill Jacobs BMW letting me know there they had additional service recommendations. I did not ask for their recommendations. I did not initially come in due to other commitments. After their persistence in calling me (they called at least 3 times), I agreed to bring the car in for the work. At that time, my battery was going defective and I asked them to look at that as well and I was told it needed to be replaced. I was asked to sign an agreement authorizing them to work on my car. Those were the exact words used by the service advisor. I signed the agreement. Never at one time did he say, These are the services we will perform in your car and this is the cost for the service for each issue. It was simply, Sign the agreement to authorize the work. When I went to pick up the car after the work was completed, I was astonished when I was handed a bill for almost $1360. I refused to pay the bill as the dealer never told me this service was something that was to be paid for. The service advisor never went over the estimate outlining what the costs were. The whole time, I was under the impression this was warranty work. Afterwards, they showed me the work order with prices but I assumed they were what were being billed back to BMW to cover the cover their costs. I figured if I were paying, it would have come up somewhere. They were very deceptive but released my vehicle without any hesitation. I received a phone call from Grant **, the GM. He was condescending during our conversation but willing to knock off the a few hundred dollars as if he was doing me a favor. I still felt since their employee was not upfront and the charges for the services they provide were extreme compared to what I could have purchased the services for elsewhere, I did not feel like they were being fair. I was willing to pay some of it but when he agreed to knock a bit off, it was a take it or leave it.I went out of town for a few weeks on a business trip. When I returned, I received a call from the Naperville police who were threatening to arrest me for theft of service if I did not come up with the full amount in 36 hours. After I consulted an attorney who advised me that this was a civil matter and not a criminal matter, I decided to tell both the police and Grant that I would not be bullied by them. Then a warrant was issued for my arrest. Now I feel as if Bill Jacobs BMW as well as the Naperville Police department for getting involved in a civil dispute is bullying me. How could it be a criminal offense if they released the vehicle? I never demanded it or threatened them in any way to turn it over. So how could I have stolen something? I would think they have an obligation to explain their services and be abundantly clear when work is being done outside of the warranty. Both the service manager and Grant ** hung their hat on the fact that their guys are well-trained so they were assuming the misunderstanding was on my end. But it does not matter how well-trained their guy is because he did not disclose that I was responsible for the repairs regardless of what was signed.Furthermore, as far as the police investigation, there really was not one. Bill Jacobs BMW filed a complaint and I was arrested. There was zero investigation. Even when I spoke to the officer who issued the warrant after I told them my side of the story, he said, They said that would be your response, that it was my word against theirs. Seriously, how can they investigate my word against theirs? There are only 2 people who know for sure what happened: the service advisor, Brad, and myself. The service manager and general manager who were so very confident that Brad indicated these were paid for services were not present during the discussion when the car was dropped off.

I owned a 2008 BMW 335i. My car got caught in fire yesterday and it covered with flames. Luckily I got out the car quickly and nobody is hurt. Its too dramatic and I would never have expected this. I used to love its apparent and the cars handling, even though there are numerous problems I had to deal with (random misfires, water pump, fuel pump and crankshaft position sensor failures). Up to this point, I am hesitated to buy another BMW in future. I Googled and there is a list of news reported about BMWs get caught in fire.

My 2005 645 CI is as awesome as it is a nightmare. It drives great, it looks great but I have had problems with the convertible top since I bought the vehicle. While driving with the top closed, a warning comes on: convertible top not locked. At this point the convertible top and the rear window cannot be operated, and if the rear window was open at the time that the warning came on, such window is stuck in the open position. At times such warning disappears while I continue driving a few moments or a few miles, at times it disappears after the engine has been shut down, and at times it continues to stay on until the problem is fixed by the dealer. The car has been at the dealer for this reason more than 15 times, the rotation sensors have been changed three times and they have been re-adjusted and/or re-positioned the other times. In 2010, I wrote about such problem to the management of the local dealer, as well as to BMW USA. The malfunction continues to happen, regardless. I just got back the vehicle from the dealer 2 days ago (beginning of August 2012), still for the same reason. I am reaching the point where if the problem re-occurs, I am going to dump my loved/hated car.

I have been having a problem with my car since I bought it brand new. First
I have been having a problem with my car since I bought it brand new. First incident occurred a week after buying my car at Sandton Auto. I had a problem with my brake pads. They were very noisy and couldn’t brake properly and got to a point where they had to be change within less than a month of buying a brand new car. After that, everything else was wrong in that car. Just after 2 months it started to have this noise in front - could be in the engine, I don’t know. I had to go home (Eastern Cape) so I couldn’t bring the car in. When I came back, I took my car to Zambezi Auto as I am closer to that side. They tried to fix it saying that it’s the cables going to or from the fan. All those cables were changed and my car was there for about 2 to 3 days.I went to collect the car and just before I got home the same day, the noise was still there. I called them and told them that what they did didn’t help even one bit. They arranged for me to bring back the car the following day. And mind you, that this is my only car, I just cannot afford to be taking it in where I can’t even get a loan car or any kind of assistance in terms of transport to and from work. My car spends another good 3 days there with them changing some other cables as well and re-gasing the fan or air-con. Then I went to collect my car again and the problem was still there. The noise was so loud that even people at the robot would turn heads. I told the dealer again that the problem was not fixed. This time around the cables inside my car were hanging around on the passenger sit side where I had to tuck them in. This is a new BMW car for God’s sake.I had to travel to Swaziland, so I was away for a month. When I came back, I had a tire bust and my car was towed to Menlyn Auto. Then, I told them as well about the problem. They looked at it as well and tried to fix it, but no luck. They said there was a new part that was needed and ordered it. And again I had to be car-less for more than a week. They did a test drive and told me that unfortunately the noise is still there and there is something else they have to do. Again, they chopped and changed whatever it was, but still the first day of me collecting the car the noise was there.I called them and told them as well, but nothing happened. I decided to bring it to the dealer I bought it from, which is Sandton Auto. I came with my problem and explained to the manager the whole story and the fact that if I bring my car in, I will need a loan car (which I was promised to get but didn’t). Then my car was booked in (this is the fourth time now in a dealer with the same problem). It stayed about 3 days because they had to keep the car in for testing in the morning to see exactly what could be wrong. They changed something as well and also when I went to collect the car, the noise was there before I could even get to the robot near them. I called them again and told them that whatever they did, it didn’t work because now the noise is getting worse. They booked the car again for the following week. I took my car there again to spend 2 days without a car and having to use public transport because no one could help. It stayed there again and they fixed few things, but still no luck. This time they even changed the entire computer system and this car was even giving false alarm warnings. This is what they told me and they didn’t know why because when they check the key, there was nothing. They also picked up that my PDC was loose (this confused me a lot). I went to them and spoke to the manager of the people fixing the cars, let him hear the noise I was talking about and he told me, Oh, that is a piece of cake. I can fix that easy.” This I couldn’t understand as he was the first person who was called to look at the car the first time it went to them. Now, this is the third time in Sandton Auto. The car was booked in for about 3 days now.The car went in, the system was changed, cables we replaced (now this feels like a second hand car) and everything else that could lead to this kind of problem was looked at by different BMW specialists. So more problems came out: 1. The speakers were damaged. I can’t even listen to proper music without the speaker kicking or vibrating or squeaking. 2. The car is vibrating now (and they did pick this up and said they will look at it). 3. I told them that the car sometimes doesn’t start, it just keeps quiet for a while. And this was looked at. Again, I had to leave my car there till the morning so that they can try and start it in the morning for testing (no loan car). 4. The brake pad’s noise is back (and the car was just serviced).5. The noise is worse than ever.I spoke to one of the employees there. She told me that this is a problem that they are experiencing in all BMWs. And she told me that BMW SA is aware of this problem. Most of the 320 I have this problem and there was a call out by BMW SA to change the fan belt to something else (can’t remember what). And she even told me about her own experience as she was at the robot and she heard this car (BMW) parked next to her with the same loud noise. So after that time I was told that they have to order a new fan for my car and change the entire fan system. This one was a masterpiece. I was asked where I bought the car by someone who was helping me there. I told them that I bought the car there by them and according to me the car was brand new. The reason why he asked this was because the car didn’t look like it was new and the PDC was not a BMW PDC. Wow - that’s what I said. I just said, “Wow.”This was a shock and I am asking myself lots of questions: 1. Could this be an old BMW car? 2. Is it possible that someone sold me a car that was a second hand? 3. Is it possible that this BMW car with these kinds of problems could be a demo or something?Really looking at it: is this possible? So right now I am still waiting for a call (which I don’t think I will get as it’s been 2 weeks already) for the fan and an explanation on the PDC. And right now the PDC is faulty for real. It beeps when you are too close to something. I really don’t know what to do in this situation. I don’t feel like I am driving a new car at all. As I travel a lot, I’m afraid that my car will soon be in 100,000 km where I won’t have the privilege of just taking the car in. I don’t have time to leave my car with the dealer anymore as I have proven that this problem cannot be fixed. I am tired of complaining and being stranded in terms of transport and worrying if this beautiful BMW 320 M Sport car cannot just stop in the middle of the road. Can someone out there help me, please?
