Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, commonly referred to as BMW, is a German multinational corporate manufacturer of luxury vehicles and motorcycles headquartered in Munich, Bavaria, Germany.

Enthusiasts bemoan the 2022 BMW 5-series for not delivering the same level of athleticism as past generations, but this spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped luxury car is still a compelling package. For one thing, there are four powertrains to choose from, ranging from a spunky turbo four-cylinder all the way up to a brutish twin-turbo V-8; a plug-in hybrid is also available for those who want to go green. The interior of the 5-series is relaxed and ready to make light work of long commutes and road trips, especially when equipped with such options as massaging seats. The 5's technology offerings are up there with key rivals such as the Audi A6, the Genesis G80, and the Mercedes-Benz E-class, but the BMW no longer delivers the driver engagement that used to make it the clear choice for those who appreciate a car that feels wired to your nervous system.

I am not fully sure why BMW thinks they can get away with having faulty engines in over 500K cars for a seven year period but they're doing it. Now they want me to pay $4600 to fix something they knew was broken? That is utterly ridiculous. How is it that these major car companies can have recall after recall and not be reprimanded or mandated by law to sit a few months or years? Or even have quarterly inspections regarding the quality they're producing... I was almost killed in a car accident by a semi-truck when my engine stalled on the highway from 70 to 30 mph in under 2 seconds. All I can recall is hearing the screeching of the truck as it fishtailed behind me, not to rear end me. However, I must pay for it? Wow. As a veteran who served over 20+ years, that is a difficult pill to swallow. What's even worse is how BMW treats you after that.

Originally I loved my 2011 BMW 335d diesel with 140,000 miles. I am the original owner. Vehicle develops serious carbon buildup due to direct injection. $4000.00 repair (decarb intake manifold). Manufacturer obviously knows about it because they stopped producing this vehicle. Then a few months later, emissions NOx sensors go bad and no way to fix without replacing catalytic converter and both front and rear NOx sensors. So far $2300 just for parts. The vehicle only gives you 200 miles to get her into a shop then it won't start. Imagine if every vehicle with a "Check Engine Light" on wouldn't run after 200 miles. To make matters worse, catalytic converters are back ordered going on three weeks now with a rental. Please advise.

Driving on major road and car suddenly dies with warning that drive train malfunctioned. Car would not restart blocked a lane of traffic, feared being hit from behind since on major roadway. Car had to be towed cannot put in neutral to pull off roadway. Thank goodness police office was able to park behind and flashlights until tow truck arrived. Disappointed in 2014 BMW 328i.

Worst customer service ever!!!! Worst customer service ever!!!! BMW recalled my car for a fault. I drive a large Estate used to transport therapy dogs and also to use for a family trip to Scotland BMW assist kindly organised a shoe box on wheels as a replacement. Despite numerous phone calls the unhelpful staff showed no compassion for the children who need the therapy dog and can’t even give me a rough estimate to how long I will have to put up with the worlds smallest car!!!! If I could give a 0/5 I would. As you can see 77% of people have given them 1 star.... Surely someone at BMW head office should be taking note???? Disgusting customer service!!!!

I purchased a BMW 318ti in December 2009. I started experiencing a never ending coolant problem on the car since July 2010 and until at present. In over a year, I've spent the total amount of R26475.05 trying to get this problem resolved. Every three to four months, the car has the same problem. Every time I take it to a BMW dealer, they never take responsibility for the previous work or parts that was replaced on the car. They double charged me, and I cannot seem to get the problem resolved. The car has been booked in numerous times; if a service is requested to be done on the car, they claim they have done full diagnostic tests on the car. So, how come I have to fork out a fortune every three to four months to fix the car?

I have a 2008 328i BMW which I love. The problem I have and I'm so upset about is the clicking or ticking noise. It is so embarrassing to go anywhere with a beautiful car and it tick so bad. Wherever I go people say, "You need to check the oil. That sound terrible." I tell them I have the oil changed every time I'm suppose to - it just ticks. Please help. I have put a lot of money in my car which I don't complain about because that comes along with having this car that I love. The guy that I take my car to said this clicking happen in the 2008 models. I think that should be something that BMW should stand behind. Please help, I don't have another $1000 or 2 to spend to fix a problem that you guys knew about. Thank you and again please help!

There are problems with the car from poor workmanship that BMW won't address that are expensive to repair. As a result I will never buy another BMW. During the years around the time my car was manufactured, BMW had a wiring problem with the backup and tail lights, but refuses to accept ownership to correct the problem.

I'll keep it short but my 5 series transmission failed on the same week the car registered 70k miles. Such a pity the BMW driving machine can't make it past 70k miles.

My 2006 330xi has been a great car. My warranty expired after four years. During the four years of covered issues including replacement of tires twice (very loud run flats) and replacement of chrome around the windows that oxidized, I was still a happy owner. I noticed that the rubber strip that meets my windshield and the top of my car was flaking off of the car. I called my dealer, BMW Devon Hill. First, I was insulted on the telephone when the service technician asked me if my car was outdoors. Then, I brought the car in and he looked at the problem and showed it to the manager, and when I returned, I was told that I was out of warranty. He was kind enough to give me an 800 number to call. Why he didn't go any further to help me is the first complaint I have.I spoke to a very nice girl over a period of 10 days who also told me that I was out of warranty and basically told me to have a nice day. I wrote a letter to BMW. Someone called. That was a miracle. He asked me a few questions, called back, and had the same final decision. My complaint is the rubber probably cost about $5, if that and the labor might be 10 to 15 minutes. This automobile, ultimate driving machine cost me $42,000, and once I went out of warranty, it was, "Goodbye. You're out of warranty." I couldn't be more disappointed. I would never buy another BMW for something as small as this problem. I was insulted and basically dismissed by everyone. I think this is terrible public relations, customer service, call it whatever you want.
