Product Reviews:

I have had three leased vehicles with NMAC. I am now told that the $500 forgiveness on body damage won't be given because I won't lease again. I also found out that they are charging me $395.00 to return the car (disposition fee). I believe this is not moral or ethical. Attached is my return inspection.

I have a concern about my 2009 Nissan Maxima. I got stranded today because the steering wheel wouldn't unlock so that prevented my car not to start using the push button starter. I did some research and found out that Nissan is aware of this problem but doesn't have it as a recall. Now it's going to cost me like 1,000 to repair and my car isn't even paid off yet. There goes my Christmas shopping money for my kids.

I bought my 2011 Rogue in 2014. Loved it for a couple years. Once it hit 100,000 miles it was one problem after another. One of the rear locks didn't work anymore, my air conditioner went out but the most expensive and frustrating thing was the CVT transmission went out at 112,000!!! WTF?? And they can't be rebuilt, you have to buy a new one directly from Nissan... $4,100 later my air conditioner goes out the next week. Luckily, someone ran into us and totaled the vehicle before I had to spend the $300 to fix this. Stay away from any vehicle that has a CVT!!!

I would not have given a one star had the option been available. This is the second vehicle I have financed through NMAC. I had a horrible experience the first time in 2000 and decided to give it another shot. We purchased a 2012 Altima Coupe in April 2012. I have constantly had to call and argue with the reps simply to get my information. I was told I would receive in the mail documents regarding my payments and account information through NMAC. I never received any of this. It is December and I still have only been able to get info regarding my account by calling myself. No communication whatsoever has ever made it to me through the mail. I have requested it many many times for various reasons and still there's nothing. Also, their online payment system is a complete joke. More often than not, it will not accept my card info and I will have to retry at a later date. This has caused my payments to be late more than once. I also never receive my statement notifications by email that the reps have promised would be sent. Also, my rate on my contract from the dealership shows 0.9% and when I look at my account information through Nissan Finance Manager, it shows a 2.9% rate. I wonder who/when that was authorized.I will never finance through NMAC again, possibly never own another Nissan vehicle.

My 2010 370Z started making a "clunk" sound from the rear of the vehicle. Dealer worked on it for nearly 3 weeks and eventually told me that the noise is just a characteristic of the vehicle. I asked other 2010 370Z owners if they had the same noise and every response was no. This noise is not normal. I called Nissan Consumer Affairs and they reviewed my case and eventually told me that there is nothing they can do other than extend a portion of the warranty. What good is the warranty if they refuse to fix the problem?

In November 2007 we bought our 1st and last Nissan. Against my better judgement, I relented and agreed to buy my wife her Nissan SUV. My reluctance was based on the cvt, which in my opinion was unproven technology. My fears were not unfounded. After 75000 miles of fair service the cvt issues began to manifest themselves in the form of a load clicking when cold. This load clicking is only under load or when car is in motion, also while cold there is a metallic screech or scraping noise on acceleration, and lastly a shuttering on acceleration from a stop as if hunting for the right gear to start out in.Wife took car to Mcgrath Nissan of Elgin Il for routine oil change as she always did, and asked to check for the noise, she was told “We can hear no noise but there is rust on your brake rotors and the rear pads are very low 1-2 mm. Do a brake job and see if your noise goes away". So I think for argument’s sake let’s do a brake job and eliminate their rederick. I performed a 4 wheel brake job pads, rotors, and hardware. Upon removal of said parts rear pads were actually closer to 5mm and fronts 10-11mm. But ok I bought the parts, let’s put them on. Guess what? Same noises and symptoms. Back to Mcgrath. Now we’re told $120.00 to diagnose problem. But that would go away if they found it to be cvt problem. I was confident they would find the problems to be the cvt and agreed. After letting car sit out and cooling down tech took for a test drive, and heard the clicking, and screech, but not the shuddering. It was his diagnosis the clicking is in the upper engine. Now how can this be if it only happens while transmission is engaged? We can pull the valve cover off and inspect the engine for $350.00. There may be varnish or sludge build up. The oil changes always performed on time, at your facility with your recommended oils how would this be possible? Well stuff happens I'm told. How is it the noise only occurs while transmission is engaged? No answer. What about the screech? The tech said it is slight or faint and not bad enough for Nissan to warranty the problem. What good is a 120,000 mile cvt warranty if Nissan won’t honor it and repair a problem? In all fairness to Mcgrath Nissan they did waive the $120.00 charge for the inspection, when confronted with my disappointment in their product. And I do understand they don't want to get stuck with a repair that Nissan won’t reimburse them for. But at 76000 miles on a car to have a failure of the cvt that has been problems from day 1 for hundreds if not thousands of rogue owners, they obviously know there is an inherent problem with the first generation Rogue cvt’s as they redesigned them in subsequent years, and replace the catastrophic failures with the new design. There is no one in the world that can convince me that the Japanese manufacturer's build quality is superior as I have had a similar experience with Toyota as well. MY advice is buy American, my friends.

Cape Cod, MA: At the end of Jan. 13, I purchased a high-end 2010 luxury Maxima SV with 33k miles. The dealer pushed a $2000 'extended' warranty on me saying mine would run out at 36k. When I read it over carefully, I realized that this did not cover everyday issues (exp: brakes, tires, etc.) and every item that was 'covered' were parts/issues that Nissan would be bound by LAW to correct anyway! (I know this as the previous Director of the BBB & of the Consumer Assistance Council in our region working closely with our State Attorney General's Public Protection Bureau.)As an educated consumer, I cancelled this useless policy, and surprise - in December 13, 6k miles over the ridiculous 36k "warranty" (less than any other manufacturer to my knowledge), my beautiful Maxima had me, a woman, stranded in a dark parking lot on an icy rainy Sunday night. It was incapacitated due to a faulty part in the steering column connected to the 'push' start. After research I found that there are MANY HUNDREDS of complaints and horror stories regarding this issue & that Nissan had recalled the defective part on 2009 models. Although I expect the 2010 Maximas also contain this defective part. This brought me on a journey to complain to Consumer Affairs and a "regional" rep. Neither were concerned with standing behind their expensive, luxury, top of the line vehicle, and were not even interested in extending the repair as a "goodwill" gesture as, after all, I "didn't purchase the Extended Warranty"! Try as I might, I could not get through to them that they were STILL bound by "Implied Warranties" in Massachusetts under MGL. Ch. 93A Consumer Protection provisions. Nissan CANNOT develop and sell 'extended' warranties (Express Warranties) in order to avoid what they would be required to do under an 'implied' warranty. Basically: a product must perform properly for a reasonable amount of time or it is the seller/manufacturer's responsibility to rectify. Nissan is attempting to coerce purchasers of their vehicles into purchasing expensive 'extended' warranties - therefore GETTING THE CONSUMER TO PAY FOR (NISSAN'S) RESPONSIBILITY BY LAW. This is fraud & misrepresentation to consumer and an illegal practice! I am SO disappointed in Nissan Corp. This was my fourth Nissan and the other 3 ran forever! Truly, one of the reasons I wasn't worried about an 'extended' warranty is because in the past Nissans were exceptionally reliable. At this time I don't know WHAT is going on with Nissan Corp., but they apparently feel no responsibility towards the consumer if they haven't purchased an expensive and unnecessary 'extended' warranty, therefore absolving them of any financial liability (ie - YOU, the consumer, already paid for yours & everyone else's repairs by purchasing this so-called 'warranty'). I've filed a Consumer Complaint with Consumer Protection and intend to file a MGL. Ch. 93A claim for treble damages. I also intend to inform our Attorney General of this fraudulent practice to gather information to prepare a 'class action' lawsuit to obtain monetary damages for consumers!

Horrible service and no accurate response to sudden failing brakes and light coming on. My car has been in government storage for over four years. My front driver and passenger side window rolls down but not up, the brake light comes on, and a grinding metal to metal sound is made, and sounds and feels like a spring is loose with no breaking control. Almost ran into a car the other day. I am in the military, this would not be good and this does not appear right. Next time it happens, will be taking it on base to see what the issue is. What I noticed is if you put the car in park, turn it off and restart it, it resets itself as if nothing ever happened. So, my plan is the next time it happens, to not reset it, record it, and drive all the way to the base to have them look at it, this could possibly if not, be a legal issue since the dealerships seem to think there is no issue and don't see a problem. Standby...for my next comments.

I had the opportunity to buy a vehicle brand new. I choose a 2004 Nissan Titian! I love this truck. I have taken pride in caring for my truck. I bought the LE Crew Cab in wonderful green color brand new off the floor in 2004 from Coast Nissan in San Luis Obispo. There has been a huge issue that started a year after I bought the truck. The clear coat is coming off the roof of the vehicle and the hood. I have paid for the truck to be waxed, clayed, and restored over the years trying not to pay for the whole truck to be repainted. Although, I have taken many steps to preserve and protect the paint, it’s not! Note that there was another issue with the extras that come with the LE model, heated seats. The driver’s seat almost caught fire and the dealer made me pay for the replacement stating it was my responsibility. I was the one that wanted them. I don’t think I fully understand how Nissan won’t take responsibility for a defective product that could have caused harm or destroyed the vehicle entirely. It is a standard upgrade that comes in the LE model and it is not a customer requested extra! I am writing this just to spread the word about Nissan faulty paint and unaccountable customer care. Although, fixing the paint would be the right thing to do!

DON'T BUY NISSAN SENTRA - I say sentra because that's what I own. Purchased a 2013 sentra and the car haven been back to the dealer more than I have been to the doctor during the same period. Too many problems. As of Aug 16th 2016 less than 34,000K miles: Oil leak steering rack, CVT slips and poor acceleration, Brake noise, Shock replaced below 20k miles, Air bag light - countless, Dead battery - replaced 3 times in 3 years - I tired of telling dealer it's not the battery. Stupid! Smelly AC - Like dead animal, Rear bumper color changed... parked in garage all the time... sun isn't a factor. Work from home. DON'T BUY.On the issue of dead battery... well I went to two funerals out of the country in July and Sept 2014. Gone for 3-4 days each time. Arrive well guess what? Car didn't start.. In October of the same year went on a cruise Friday got back Monday... won't start. August 12th 2016 went to get an oil change. Got out of the car at the dealer, give the key to the guy at the desk. Ten minutes later he walks inside... "Sir do you have a set of keys on you?" "NO...I just give it to you" I repiled. Rep. replied.. "The car won't start."Okay... they jumped it... which it started. Did battery test etc... said all is good. Saturday morning it started... just wanted to check. Wife and I decided to go for dinner selected a place... one hour drive away from home. "Not just for the food okay" - for the drive and spend time together. Well after we got dressed around 6pm ready to go... car won't start. Ok I got a jump and off we go. After 11pm we decide to head home, got to the parking lot car won't start. Finally close to midnight someone give us a jump.. it started and we left for home. Got home without any issues.Next morning 9am sunday... well not even a jump could help it... it was DEAD but I must say it was trying to turn over but it couldn't get there. Lights started flashing, beeping etc... like Christmas. Finally after trying well there wasn't any juice left. I GIVE UP... THERE GOES MY SUNDAY. Called Nissan Monday morning. Customer service said they won't get it towed. I had to pay out of my pocket... that did it. I let loose on the rep. but after apologized to her not her fault... but I was pissed. I told her let a manger called me. They said 24hrs. So 2 days wait... now I used my AAA and towed the vehicle. Battery changed again. Car is running for now. Today I missed the mgr call. I returned the call and left a message....
