VW TDI buy back - We turned in our car on Jan. 19, 2017. Today is Feb. 22, 2017 and they still have not paid us. Not only that, the car was a 2009 and was on track to be crushed but we were not told this when it broke down and they made us pay 4300 to repair it as supposedly VW would not take back a car if it wasn't running. Now I am wondering if it was the dealer - Ken Garff in Orem Utah.

I bought a VW Tiguan in Dec. 2019, top of the line with bells and whistles. About 14,000 Km after, when I took it for the 15k km service, I asked them to have a look at the brakes as they've started to make some noise. They said the brakes overheat, the metal is blue (sign of overheating) and they they'll need to be replaced. $1,500 invoice. They said the warranty doesn't want to cover it as it is a consumable. I know that the warranty doesn't cover consumables (oil, filters, brake pads etc), but this is the first car I have to change the brakes under 60,000 - 80,000 Km. I love my cars and I look after them, but I see this as a factory defect, not a user error.I would like to clarify something: I've owned and drove multiple cars along the years. I'm a car guy, I love cars. I bought the Tiguan for my wife, but I drove it 90% of the time due to some circumstances. I had multiple German cars, Japanese and American cars over the years. Just so you know, I'm not looking for any freebies, discounts or anything like that. Just want the manufacturer and representatives to stand behind their claims and contracts. The dealer can't change them on warranty, they've submitted pictures and technical reports to VW Canada but they've rejected any warranty claims. I've called them directly to talk about the situation, they've opened another "case" and VW Canada said they'll get back to me in 48 hours. Few days later I called them again as I didn't hear anything from them. They said another 48 hours...This becomes a joke, they throw the blame from one to the other and together to the put it in the owner's lap to pay it. The warranty is a shame, they make the best to get out of replacing faulty parts or repair them stating it's user fault. I start to have doubts about the parts reliability and warranty, at least not in North America. Unless you have a blown engine in less than 1,000 Km, they won't cover anything, and even then, they might say you've done something wrong to it or looked in the mirror the wrong way.

Purchased a 2012 Tiguan less than a year ago at 58K. From day 1 there have been constant oil leaks all year. I took it back to the dealer repeatedly. Oil leaks continued. A couple weeks ago I paid an $1800 bill for a rear main oil seal leak. VW refused to reimburse me because they said there was no recall on it and it's past warranty. I know for a fact this is a consistent problem for this year and model and it should be under recall not to mention it started when it was under 60K. I am very unhappy and want to be reimbursed for the repair due to a faulty product. I won't stop until it's reimbursed.

On March 21st, my daughter was driving her friend to the airport when they smelled something burning. She has a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta Wolfsburg Edition (100K) that she bought when she turned 16 with a majority of her own money. The seat heater malfunctioned and burned a huge hole through her seat and right through her sweatshirt and t-shirt. We have read tons of complaints about the seat heaters. Since the black leather in her car is no longer being manufactured, they want to replace it with a light gray leather. The bottom seat will remain black and they will replace the portion your back rests on with light gray. This is a horrible remedy. She will have one light gray seat and the others will be black. An entire month has gone by and the parts are still not here. The first order was supposedly lost so they placed another order and it's on backorder with no ETA. Volkswagen in NO WAY cares about their customers. This is the worst customer service we have ever dealt with. Don't buy a VOLKSWAGEN if you expect to be taken care of! All they do is string you along. I cannot believe that they can continue to get away with this. CUSTOMER Care is a total JOKE! You should honestly be ashamed of yourself for the way you handle serious issues. She was not part of their recall.

VWGoA settlement - This process is BEYOND ridiculous. I have been in "process" since October 2016. Every time I submit they want something different. Approved documents re-submitted are then not approved. Volkswagen lawyers are HORRIBLE. They stall at every point they can, as every moment they stall, means interest from the settlement money they SHOULD be paying that THEY promised, lining their pockets. As consumers, we are getting screwed. I will NEVER purchase another Volkswagen, they are liars and cheaters.

My fiancee leased upon my recommendation in 2013 a VW CC. We decided to return it 2 months before the lease ended. The mileage on the car was 35% lower than what the lease contract specified, as it was only used half a year (snow birds in Florida). The car had absolutely no visible wear and tear, neither the body nor the inside. Upon delivery of the car we never ever got a call from the dealer asking why we were returning it. Neither did we get any comments about the returned car. Neither were we asked to have it surveyed. 2 weeks after delivery we get a statement from VW asking for over $400.00 for "deep scratches on the hood, the outside mirrors, the bumper". I call VW-credit and raise my objection. The answer: "We do not care what your arguments are. We had it surveyed by SGS and they assessed the damages!!" I don't know which car they assessed but certainly not the one which we returned. I asked, why were we not informed about these "damages" nor were we supplied the "SGS-inspection report". The answer from the incredibly rude VW-Credit employee: "It's not our business to supply you with a report from the surveyor nor is it our job to inform you of the damage!!!"I argued that the dealer should have informed us if they had independently found any damage. The answer from VW Credit "Then go and complain to them. We have nothing to do with the dealer. We recommend you pay as promptly or we will take action against you, which won't be good for you". We complained to the sales Manager at VW in Naples Florida, where we leased the car. The reply from the manager: "We have nothing to do with this. If you have complaints then address them to VW Credit!!"Called back VW-Credit. The bottom line answer: "Report the damages to your insurance company". I replied, "NO, I am not committing insurance fraud for you to cash money because that is exactly what you are asking me to do". I repeated that the car had absolutely zero scratches nor damages. What was the reply from VW-Credit: "We have no time for people like you". Phone hung up!We have leased the following brands in the past 10 years: Lexus, Kia, BMW. Have we EVER encountered any problems returning the cars? Never ever! Quite the contrary, we received letters thanking us for the business and inviting us to visit our dealer of trust so that he could help us choose a new vehicle. One fact is sure: NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL WE LEASE OR PURCHASE A VW!! If you have one under a lease contract, BEWARE WHEN YOU RETURN IT. We all know that VW needs to make up for the losses incurred due to the fraud committed with the emission scandal. Defrauding customers even more to get money from their pockets at the end of a lease is certainly a good way to reaffirm the company moral.

The car looks great on the outside, the inside as well. Very comfortable car and spacious. The drive is smooth and affordable in gas. It's not a big SUV and not too small. Enough room to fit 5 people and a large trunk. Very happy with the design of the vehicle. As for the engine, I did have a few issues. Instead of a timing belt it's a chain which needs to be changed and very costly. The pieces are ok in price but had to add some extra money on top of my payments. That was the downfall of this purchase.

I contacted VW Roadside Service for assistance and spoke with a customer service representative (CSR) named Tammy. She was very abrupt and discourteous as I tried to communicate why I needed Roadside Service. My front left tire blew out. I contacted the VW Roadside Service. The CRS asked if I had vehicle warranty and after she checked she said I did not have the warranty. At that point she became nasty and abrupt in taking my vehicle information. She told me that Roadside Service did not change tires. She did not listened to the information that I gave her and she kept telling me "this does not work" speaking about my credit card when that was incorrect. There was nothing wrong with my credit card. If she had listened to me she would have gotten it right the first time.My husband and I have purchased several vehicles from VW over the years and I am very disappointed and angry at the treatment I received when I was in need of "HELP". I did not think VW Roadside Service is only for consumers with warranties on their vehicle. I will not use or recommend this service to anyone else. There are other Roadside Services that are much nicer than this one!

This is the worst bank in history. I always had perfect credit until I made the biggest mistake by leasing through them. Since 2011 I have been trying to dispute inaccurate information being reported by them on my credit file, every time I had disputed it they in return come back with worse information than before adding more 30 day lates. This can not be legal and they shouldn't get away with this. They are the most frustrating company in the world to deal with. Don't ever buy or lease through them. They will report incorrectly and when you try to dispute it they will report back with worse information than before.

We bought a 2020 Tiguan six months ago. This car likes to stop itself in the middle of the street for no apparent reason. If you read more reviews online, you will find it’s a common problem. VW reviewed the case for 2 months only to let us know they weren’t going to do anything about it. Terrible customer service and seems to have no concern about driver safety. Would give 0 stars if I could.
