Product Reviews:

Bought my 2015 Kia Sorento in March of 2017 and have had problems with it pretty much right away. Started with my key fob. The driver door does not recognize my key fob and I have to either open the passenger door to unlock my car or hit the fob multiple times before the driver's door opens. I've replaced the batteries and it hasn't helped. My alternator dies at 66K miles, which I thought was ridiculous. I called Kia to see if they would grant any good will since I was out of warranty and they did nothing. Claimed they couldn't help since I was the 2nd owner. In my opinion, it shouldn't matter if I'm the 2nd or 5th owner. The car only had 66k miles on it and the car was bought from a Kia Dealership in Buford, GA. From a dealership, it wasn't a private sale. No reason other than Kia is garbage that an alternator should die at 66k miles. And now, my window doesn't work. I rolled down the passenger side window this morning and it won't go back up. I'm bringing it somewhere to get it looked at, not Kia. It looks like the motor is no good. Of course it is, it's a Kia. Well, I've learned my lesson with Kia cars and hope you will learn from this review. DO NOT BUY KIA!

At the beginning of December 2011, I brought my 2008 Rio5 to the Kelowna dealer to check out a rubbing sound from under the hood. They said it was probably a bushing. Now it is December 30 and they keep sending estimates to Kia then sending an estimate for something else. When I phone the Kia service/warranty number, they say we'll phone the dealer, the dealer says they just submitted another estimate and on and on.I had a trip across Canada planned for Christmas that fell through and it looks like I will miss my parents 50th wedding anniversary. I am at the point where I will take it to a trannie shop then paint my car with a "Kia Sucks" motif for my very delayed trip.

I have a Kia Sorento. Since day one, I have had issues with the airbag lights coming on. The clock spring has been changed six times and now is on again. Kia will not admit that there is a problem with the car and will not do anything about it. I am concerned for my safety should I get in an accident. After six times, one would think that the car has issues and they should repair it.

This has been the WORST experience I have EVER had. I went through USAA to buyout my Kia from a lease. Two months later I start getting collections calls saying I'm two months behind because Indiana is a dealer only state, and not only was I never informed, records indicate that Kia CASHED the check from USAA. They claim they issued a refund check to USAA but a week later, USAA still doesn't have it. Now I am paying two car loans, both of which are accruing interest. THIS IS ILLEGAL!

It was a great car until the engine went bad. Kia helped us out by paying for the parts, we had to pay the labor. The dealer was of absolutely no help on this at all.

My leased Kia had a seized engine THREE weeks ago. Still in shop. No ETA on repair. Kia customer service NON existent to me. Do NOT purchase anything from this company. They do NOT care about consumers.

We bought a new Kia Soul from Doug Smith Kia in American Fork, UT on Dec 31, 2014. Drove home to Texas and noticed a rhythmic, vibrating, humming noise when we cruised at highway speeds. Possibly this is some kind of harmonic balance problem. It has gotten a bit worse as we have driven the car. It now has 2000 miles on the odometer. Took the car to local Kia dealer in Amarillo, Tx, Pete's Car Smart, and although the two head mechanics rode with me and clearly heard and felt the problem, they could not make a diagnosis. They had the car for three days, said they had calls into the Kia engineering tech dept., but could not get help. They had me drive another brand new Soul right off of the truck, and it did the same thing. The head mechanic rode with me and he heard and felt it, too. We are not sure what course of action to take now.

I owned a 2016 Sorento. On May 12, 2019 it inexplicably caught fire. It was towed to the dealership where it was purchased and the service department immediately took responsibility after inspection and since it was still under warranty they were about to begin repairs. Later that day, I was called by the Kia corporation in California (I live in Texas) and asked to give my oil change records. I normally don't keep my records and only had a few, but 2 of the last 3 had been at the dealership and the dealership had just done my Texas inspection 3 weeks prior to this. About 4 days later, Kia called and said that they would not cover the cost of repairs because I didn't have enough recorded oil changes. Our insurance couldn't pay because it was also determined by them to be a mechanical defect that was Kia's fault. It was not anywhere in my warranty handbook (or any of their handbooks) that I was supposed to keep my records. I asked the lady (Ashley) about that and she said that it was "implied". My father in law is a mechanic and sometimes changes our oil and his too. I wasn't sure why that oil changes would even matter if a vehicle caught fire. I am 51 years old and I have paid off and traded in multiple vehicles including 3 Kias. I owed over $9,000 on this Kia which I had to roll into my next car because the repairs were going to be $11,000. (New engine-minimal body damage).I have been blessed that this did not cripple us financially; but if we were younger and still struggling, it could have destroyed us. One of the reasons that I had purchased the Kias was because of the 10 year warranty. I feel that Kia was looking for any way to get out of their responsibility to pay. Kia's own service department had already taken responsibility. It is most disheartening that some segments of society have turned to this. Needless to say I will never purchase another Kia again and if you do, be cautious on the warranty. They are not a trustworthy company at the corporate level. Since our incident, I read in consumer reports of over 290,000 other Kias spontaneously catching fire. I will continue my disagreement by bringing a lawyer into it.

Kia Soul bought March 2014. 1 recall within 1st year. 6-18-15 the car would not start. I had to miss work and find someone to take me to the dealer. Hours later I was told nothing was wrong with the Battery. 7-24-15 the car would not start again. A little over a month since the last problem, I found someone to drive me to Kia after my car was towed and I had to miss work again. Hours later again, nothing wrong with my Battery. I called the Kia 800# while waiting, told there were 2 more recalls (they won't call them recalls anymore), these items noted as corrected on my invoice.7-27-15 the car would not start again. Kia called a tow truck again. I borrowed a car, could not call in work again. After multiple calls to Kia service, tow company and Kia at 800#. I was offered a loaner car and mine would be research more. Later that day per message on my voice mail, car is fixed, battery replaced. I bought a new car for the security and this is what I get. Stress on my mother and myself, miss many hours of work going on my record as missed work hours and gas for multiple trips to Kia.Updated on 9/07/2015: The parking and tail lights have come on in the middle of the night for no reason. It was discovered when going outside to get the newspaper 2 days and I woke up the next day worrying about my car at 3:00 am, the lights were in again. OBVIOUSLY the problem is not the battery. The computer needs checked with good machine for a short or something else, not the one at Dutch Miller Kia in South Charleston, WV. Car lights do not just come on in the middle of the night for no reason. Why this problem was not found after 3 visits in the summer? I am scheduling an appointment at my Kia in WV for 9-10-2015. I cannot miss another day of work.

I really don't have a problem w/ the Service Dept. They are trying to help me. I bought my 2015 Kia Sorento back in 3-14. I have had it in for numerous problems from engine sticking when in cruise control & slipping when you take off & for a water leak that doesn't seem to ever go away! It has been in for service over 7 times! They can't seem to find the transmission sticking. But it definitely does it. They told me it seems to be normal for the car??? Really... I've had a 2015 Sorento loaner for over a week & it doesn't stick at all. I've brought that up & they look at me like I have a 2nd head! I've asked them if they changed the engine again from the 2015 to 2016? They said, "No." But I've notice it gets better gas mileage & has more pick up & go. I don't feel safe in my 2015 Sorento. I live in the Atlanta so I need a vehicle that can go when I hit the gas. Yes I'm well aware that it's only a 4-cylinder but the loaner I have is two & it's a great car. I've had no problems w/ the sticking or slipping transmission!
