Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, commonly referred to as BMW, is a German multinational corporate manufacturer of luxury vehicles and motorcycles headquartered in Munich, Bavaria, Germany.

Completely redesigned just last year, the BMW Z4 is back after a four-year hiatus, and it's better than ever. The rear-wheel-drive two-seat roadster still falls short of the sublime Porsche Boxster for all-out speed and driving enjoyment, but it's a close second, offering extremely strong performance in a refined package that's enjoyable to drive every day. Its base price is also about $10,000 less than the Boxster's. This time around, the Z4 is offered only as a convertible—there is no longer a coupe version—and it's BMW's least expensive two-seater. This latest generation has also shed its heavy and complex retractable hard top for a more traditional folding soft top, but its interior seals tightly and remains quiet on the highway.

I purchased a BMW 318ti in December 2009. I started experiencing a never ending coolant problem on the car since July 2010 and until at present. In over a year, I've spent the total amount of R26475.05 trying to get this problem resolved. Every three to four months, the car has the same problem. Every time I take it to a BMW dealer, they never take responsibility for the previous work or parts that was replaced on the car. They double charged me, and I cannot seem to get the problem resolved. The car has been booked in numerous times; if a service is requested to be done on the car, they claim they have done full diagnostic tests on the car. So, how come I have to fork out a fortune every three to four months to fix the car?

I am a big loyal long time fan of BMW (German Engineering).I was referred friends family to buy BMW cars based on my experience. Finally that came to an end. Little story - First time I took my 2008 BMW X5 (36K miles) on a vacation out of Colorado with my family (Wife and Little daughter). I drove from Boulder, CO to LA and was driving this big guy was fun. Stayed in LA couple weeks then I went to San Diego to see zoo and Sea World. On Saturday we went to zoo, came back and drive my BMW x5 to Los Angles Americas shopping center. Had good time shopping center and finished the dinner. Then got in to X5. Started the car. Something unusual. Heard some big fan noise and then opened bonnet and looked for noise. Fan was running like chopper blades. Thought it’s because of air-conditioning is running in full mode. Then drive the car for 1 mile and suddenly engine over heating symbol displayed on dashboard. Then I took my car in near gas station (it was midnight, 10:30 PM in new place) and stopped. Luckily internet was on my smart phone and searched the internet for this problem and found lots of postings. After reading these posts, I understand something went wrong in engine cooling system. I called my insurance guy to tow the car and drop at nearest BMW dealer. Tow guys showed up in 30 minutes and off loaded all the things out of my car and handed it tow guys. My hotel is quite far and I need a car to go to sea world next day .I took taxi to airport to rent a car. Around 2 AM reached hotel...I was trusting BMW than any other brand because all that I was feeling that BMW are made finest engineering company and will not break down at least within 60k miles. My perception was wrong. Today morning I got a call from dealer and said electronic water pump is broken. The repair cost would be 1300 USD.I searched internet and NHTSA for recalls. I found one recall 11V521000 about the same issue. BMW recalled 2008-1011. I called BMW Customer Care about the same thing. They took around 55 minutes to find the recall information. Finally they said your VIN is not under the list. My problem is same exact problem what they recalled for. The supervisor was very rude (Her name is CASEY **, Resolution Specialist, Customer Relation Department) at me and behaved like she is the only decision maker in BMW. I felt really very bad and regretting why I bought BMW. The colleague was next to me was able to hear all the conversation. He is worried now because he owns X5 and M3. What bad service from BMW.

Friends and family I wanted to share my recent experience with BMW to forewarn any of you who might be considering purchasing a vehicle with them. Although this post is long, I please urge you to read through and leave comments and share to strengthen my case against BMW. I own 2010 535I GT. Summary of my experience: I had initially gone to BMW to repair a faulty water pump, where they should have also discovered the other issues they later diagnosed during their 27-point inspection. These issues were overlooked and I had to bring my car back to get re-diagnosed, where they estimated $5,700 in repairs. After the repairs were done, a new problem arose, and funny enough, the new problem is the result of them fixing the initial issue, which they still have the nerve to charge me to fix. Read the full story below:I first noticed an issue with my car 2 months ago when my engine started overheating on the freeway. As a result I towed my car to McKenna BMW in Norwalk, CA where I paid close to $800 to repair a faulty water pump. Close to two weeks later I found another issue. This time the problem was the headliner on the sunroof. I brought my car to BMW of Ontario where a full inspection was done. The diagnosis: replace the headliner and repair leaks in valve cover gasket and oil filter housing. Total cost estimate for repairs: $5,700. After making a fuss, they agreed to a 25% discount and since I had guests coming in from out of country, I okayed the repairs. After that I started checking reviews online. I noticed that quite a few people had complaints about headliner malfunction. One was at 14,000 miles. Had I been using my sunroof, I would have probably discovered this problem sooner and would have been a part of warranty. I do think it is a faulty part and manufacturing defect. After I picked up my car, I got on the freeway and heard noise from the roof again. Stopped by home real quick to pick something up. As soon as I turned off the engine, there was a big squeaking noise coming from the engine. Took the car back and had a test drive with the service manager on duty, and he concurred with the two noise issues and promised to fix them. A week later the service advisor contacted me saying the noise from the roof was fixed. However the squeaking noise was a result of repairing the gaskets. Explanation was that when there was a leak in gasket, the air had an escape route. After replacing the gaskets, the air had nowhere to escape, thus making the noise. To eliminate the noise I would have to pay to replace the valve cover. Beware: If you are buying a brand new BMW, there would be a squeaky noise from the engine because the gaskets would be new and the air would have nowhere to escape (lol). I contacted BMW corporate to explain my situation and to be refunded for my repairs, waste of time and inconvenience. They dismissed my claim and said there was nothing they could do since I no longer had warranty. I definitely feel profiled as a woman, and I feel like the BMW dealership preyed on my lack of mechanical knowledge to squeeze me for every cent. This was a truly exhausting and upsetting customer service experience. I expect much more from a luxury car company.

My car is a 2010 BMW 750. I had so far 3 engine faults in the space of less than 2 years. I take the car to the dealer. He fixes it under warranty. But every time, he doesn't provide me with replacement car immediately. Instead, I have to wait for up to a week sometimes provided, I don't have a second car. The second issue, which is more important; why are there repeated engine faults in my car when it’s still new? Is it a manufacture fault? This is serious! I'd like you to look into this matter and consider replacing this car with a brand new one. This is your reputation on the line here! I bought an expensive car so that I can relax, not so that I spend a great portion of my time at the service department. This is simply unacceptable.

I purchased a brand new 528 BMW and the battery went dead in less than 5,000 miles. And the dealer refuse to replace it under the warranty. They make me pay for it. And now it made me upset even more. Because the battery dead again in 2 1/2 yrs later. But this time they said I have a shortage in the wires or whatever and it costs me over a $1000.00. At this point, I just gonna sell that piece of **. And never buy another BMW. I believe I've been ripped off by BMW or the dealership.

Hello I would like to make a complain about my BMW 520d 184ps 2011. My car left me while I was driving. Suddenly I didn't have any power and my car stopped. I took the car to BMW dealer and they told me that is the same problem I had 2 years and one month ago. The injection system and I need to change the same parts as 2 years ago. 2 years ago BMW paid for the parts and I only paid for the workmanship. Then around 120.000-130.000 km, and now I have 214.000 km and I don't consider normal that the injection system should be changed after 90.000 km. Please help with a solution for my problem.

My battery needed to be replaced and to my surprise the dealer installed an "Exide" brand battery on 20 Feb 2013 and I was told it has 4 years Warranty. I believe that is not proper or even BMW policy to replaced BMW factory built battery with "Exide" brand battery. Now the battery is discharging and needed to be replaced and the dealer claim that it is out of Warranty because he only give 4 years Warranty on a new cars, and 2 years Warranty on old cars. My car is 2006 BMW 750li. I will no longer do business with (BMW Katy - Texas dealer). Please advise on how to solve this matter? or give any suggestion about an "Exide" brand battery service center to honors my Warranty in Houston.

I own a BMW 6 series. I have it in the shop right now with the convertible roof sensor issue. I have had this fixed 2x before. I had it scheduled in a different state a month ago but the BMW dealership said I had to get it fixed at the dealer that originally did the work. So I have brought it to that state and it is now a month later and my warranty expired the day before my appointment. BMW wants me to pay over $600.00 to repair a problem that I have had repaired twice already and so far they are not even honoring my warranty.

I'm a 19-year-old full time college student and full job worker. I'm broke and I don't have money for anything besides my studies. I'm on an extremely tight budget. Anyway one day Some guy contacted me from Craigslist since I posted my Honda for sale since I have been wanting to get rid of it and get something more decent since I have a professional job. He asked if I wanted to trade my 01 Honda Civic for his 1999 BMW 5 series. The pictures of the car were so beautiful and I said immediately, "Yes! Can I see it? Where can we meet?" And we met up 20 minutes later. I was alone (I know I'm an idiot). He was w/ his baby and his girlfriend and he said he already had the same BMW sitting at home and he wanted a Honda for his GF because of the good gas mileage. I then test drove the Beamer and it didn't feel quite right, but I told myself, "Oh well, I'll take it to a mechanic and I'm sure it's something minor." The guy who traded me didn't ask for cash on top which was sort of sketchy. All he said that was wrong was that it needed an oil change and power steering fluid, hence the check engine light on the dash. I come to find out that the BMW couldn't even start the second day I had it and it began to make this LOUD air noise when I would hit the gas. OMG, I was having an anxiety attack and immediately took it to a fair priced mechanic who works on marine and automotive here in Salem, Oregon. The Mechanic felt so bad for me I could see the sympathy in his eye. I basically told him the story and he couldn't stop staying how BMWs are pieces of ** and I should have never ever traded my perfect beat up Honda for it. I also came to find out that it would cost over 7 grand to repair the vehicle back to good condition since it had OVER 10 CODES or mechanical work needed to be done to it. Now my car still won't start because the battery died and I live alone and have no one to help me. I'm broke as hell and I don't have money for ANYTHING not even to register it under my name so I get the title in hand to get rid of it.

I have X5 and I have problems with the car since I bought it brand new. It's been in and out of the shop for so many things gone wrong. What kind of company is this! My Honda was one of the best vehicles I had and the services were much better. Would never buy a BMW again.
