I have a 2003 mb 500 sl and I still own the car. For a car that costs more than $135,000.00, I am extremely disappointed in the major problems I have. All services have been done diligently and I have had to pay for many as you know the problems arise only after the warranty expires.Currently I am facing a serious color fade on the bonnet/hood and a leak from the closure point of the convertible above the driver when the car is washed or when it rains. And it rains in Florida. This is not something that the mb dealership wants to fix and I am disappointed that for a car that expensive, problems like these should be non existent or cost covered by Mercedes to say the least. All of my other Mercedes and I had 3 prior, the family all own Mercedes, did not have such issues. I am very disappointed and I so wanted to keep this car and buy another to run around. Can you please assist in my dilemma and in correcting these problems?
After purchasing brand new 2016 c300, I had two major problems to my car. After a year, on highway speeds after applying breaks the car started shaking really bad. I took the car to my local dealer from where I bought the car. They said the brake pads need to be replaced. Second time, fuel smell started coming inside the vehicle while driving or when it’s parked in my garage. This time, the fuel pipe was leaking. Both the repairs were done properly by my dealer and I was charged $0 since the vehicle is still under warranty. I also got loaner car for the time my car was at the dealer. Very happy with the service provided by dealer and Mercedes!!
I purchased my 2008 Mercedes Benz S450. I bought it 17 months ago and have had it in the shop 12 times. Yep. It’s true. The S450 nearly identical to the S550 but it’s a Canada-only edition. It has all the same features as an S550 but a slightly smaller engine therefore less gas consumption (not that I could care less). Within the 1st month, I had it back to the dealership for a $6,000 replacement of the GPS. With only 50,000 km on it (approx. 31,068 miles). It went downhill from there. Somewhere in there I lost my key and the replacement took six weeks and cost $406.13. Currently the catalytic converter is shot on the right hand side (there are 2) and that lovely quote has come in at $2,481 to replace. Cant wait until the other side goes. Sure people stare at this car as I drive by, beautiful lady with long blonde hair driving a high-end vehicle but it sure hasnt been worth it. Im making car payments about $1,000 a month and not only are the regular oil changes brutal ($500 on average) but there are a number of things wrong with the car that were wrong since the day I bought it that the mechanic cant troubleshoot because it doesnt seem to make that noise when he drives it. This includes the Distronic arbitrarily shutting off even on the highway on sunny days with no inclines on the roadway and no traffic with the car being washed just earlier that morning so nothing in the way of road grime. Go figure. The seat never worked properly since day one but since I didnt think the seats performed with the auto-inflation when you turned a corner, I never raised it up with the dealership. Then it cost me $500 after arguing back and forth because they said I broke it. By the way, the reason I never knew the seats were supposed to have this feature is because not only did it not work when I test-drove the vehicle and then bought it but the salesman was having surgery the day I bought the vehicle, and no one explained to me the various features. Ive been reading the very thick and complicated manual trying to see what features my car does have and thats how I found out. Again, when I went back to say it wasnt working since day one the dealership thought I was trying to scam them. Out of frustration I paid the $500 (half the cost) to get the seat fixed but believe me, I will take a polygraph test and prove the seat never worked since day one. I could never re-sell this car with a broken seat so I bucked up and had it fixed. I also take meticulous car of this vehicle and dont like things not working on it. Im exhausted but I still owe $40,000 on the car loan and Im locked in to this nightmare. Would I buy another one? No, of course not. I have owned two Chryslers before this, and NEVER had to pay this kind of maintenance and the one Chrysler 300C is a 2005, has over 400,000 km on it and Im lucky if Ive had to pay $3,000 in total for things that have need replacing. So, looking at the stack of receipts and work orders from the last 18 months, Ive got another three and a half years of payments to go on this thing and then Im free. Come on Mercedes. Stop creating new vehicles and advertising them on TV when you have a mountain of issues from the past to have to resolve. If I ran my company this way, Id be bankrupt and in jail.
300 E Cab 2012 - When I ask command blue tooth to call name from my phone book list it only gives me the option to call only one of 3 phone numbers 1-2 or 3, intermittent problem but recurring on more than 4 different times. Also drivers seat belt does not completely retract. Also strap gets caught in door.
I lost my Mercedes E350 key. Ordered duplicate key, paid $100 for key and $170.00 shipping from Texas, I am not sure what kind of shipping they use. If I order two keys they said double shipping charge. So I settled for one. Key comes- it does not work. Call the dealer they said it never happened before. I need to get car towed. Call my insurance they sent a tow but he could not get car out of park. Then called Mercedes USA they sent a tow person. He said “I do not know”, finally I talk to dealer who got mechanic on the phone and gave him instructions. Car reached dealership, of course the key is wrong, got another key from Texas and it worked. It is amazing how after charging so much people can be doing such mistakes, no apology and no loaner. I was without car for 3 days after paying $300.00 for key and no fault of my own. I have Volvo and Lexus other cars, they never charge for inspection, but at Mercedes they charge me $29.00 for that also.
This vehicle will run forever if properly maintained. I have 186,000 miles, serviced as per MB, using MB spec fluids and parts. The vehicle gets great gas mileage considering its size and weight. I believe this SUV will exceed 300k miles without any major component failure.
Bought a 2007 GL 450, certified pre-owned, and started having problems before 60,000 miles. Cam magnets, alternator, suspension, air compressor, DVD player, battery all failed. I have already spent thousands of dollars on repair. Very disappointed.
I placed an order for a Mercedes S class through a leasing company in October, for January delivery. Having placed the order I asked the leasing company for confirmation that the car had been allocated by MB. The leasing company suggested I complain to MB and ask them to confirm allocation. I had both written and MB at that time and they seemed to be responsive to my complaint. I then had a call from a woman from MD in Holland and she confirmed that the car had been issued for production, with delivery in Mid January. I contacted the leasing company who subsequently confirmed that the dealer still had no confirmation of allocation. My attempts subsequently to clarify the situation have been a complete waste of time. MB Europe now consider that it is not a problem they will discuss because I dont have a contract directly with them and now it seems the conversation I had about delivery in January is a figment of my imagination. It never happened. In other words I am either an imbecile or a liar. The attitude I get from MB is its nothing that they will comment on. Just completely abandon any responsibility to meet their obligations and commitments. They have the nerve to challenge what I say when I have it in writing. Anyway, needless to say, Im appalled that they just couldnt give a damn.
I lease a GLC 300 and after about one month my wife accidentally hit the mirror in a beam. Only the mirror connector broke, everything else is working normally, like the blind spot assist. Event the mirror glass is intact. I took it to the Mercedes-Benz of Stevens Creek (San Jose, CA). They told me and my insurance company that the expected repair time was 5 DAYS. I leave my car there and after 5 days I call to see if my car was ready. Then, they told me that the part is not available in the entire USA and would have to be imported from Germany, the new repair estimate is now 5 to 7 business days. In the meantime, Im still driving the rental car, and GEICO was nice enough to give me extra days with the car. After about 10 days that my car is in the shop I call again to see if my car is ready. And they told me Mercedes will not ship the part until June 1st, the current date was May 4th (almost a month waiting time). Then I started to asking questions like: Can you try to put the mirror back in my car? Answer: no, not possible. Can I have a loaner while I dont have my car back? Answer: no, loaner is only for regular maintenance. I called Mercedes-Benz Customer Service and after trying for a long time to get some help, they offered me a 45 dollars per-day refund with the rental car. In the meantime Im still liable for the lease payments.Around May 22, I call to see if there is any update, and in fact I had an update. The part will now only leave Germany in the first week of July. That day itself I went to Mercedes-Benz of Stevens Creek and got my car back. I drove all the way to Mercedes-Benz of Oakland and they were nice enough to give me a loaner (not nearly as good as the car I leased). I still dont have my car back and Im still paying the lease. This is my first time owning a Mercedes, and, as you can tell, my experience is terrible. So, of course, I dont recommend it. Their customer service is terrible, they dont do anything to alleviate your frustrations.
I am the original owner of a 2001 Mercedes-Benz S-Class for which I paid over $85,000. My car has a mere 54,000 miles on it and is in superb condition. A few years following the purchase of the car, the thread on my steering wheel began to unravel, at which time I replaced the steering wheel. The same situation has occurred again, necessitating the replacement of the steering wheel for the second time in 54,000 miles. In an effort to appease me, Mercedes-Benz has offered me a whopping $150 toward the cost of putting in the 3rd steering wheel on this supposedly top-of-the-line vehicle. In view of their response, I feel that Mercedes does not stand behind their products, which are sold at premium prices yet often contain inferior workmanship.
Recently I had the misfortune of seeing what Ethanol can do to a very expensive auto. My Mercedes SL 600(12-cylinder) simply stopped running while on a major road in NJ. I was able to get it to a nearby mechanic who diagnosed a fuel pump failure. A new pump was installed and the car quickly stopped running while burning out the pump. It was towed to Mercedes where it sits for over 4 weeks after they installed a new fuel TANK... a fuel tank!! I believe the damage done to the engine is catastrophic and it isnt going to end well with MB. The tragedy is my 150K car has very low mileage since it was my toy. It never saw harsh weather and sat garaged every winter. Problem is Mercedes knows Ethanol is Hygroscopic and mixes with water. Being heavier than gasoline, this mix of ethanol and water settles to the bottom of the tank where it corrodes metal and rubber gaskets. Think about this; Ethanol that precipitates out of gas settles and the Ethanol now becomes concentrated to mixtures greater than 20-30%. Read up on what this % of ethanol can do to a motor and fuel system. The Marine industry has been living with this nightmare for over a decade...
My husband and I own a business and finally had the fund to purchase a brand new special order 2013 Mercedes Sprinter Van in Fall 2013: FOR CASH, No Financing!! Month one he had brake and electrical issues & each time he went back they told him he was crazy. Month 2-5 (last time brought in was one week ago) weekly visits for failing brakes, emergency lights coming on and scary noises from the van. Each time they find nothing and they tell us there is no recall. How can something become a recall if they wont report the finding??? We were forced to started videotaping things to send them but magically they would tell us it was something he did. The van has less than 2,000 miles but we are the issue. This van has been in and out of service every month but they cant find anything wrong. Each time its there, we lose money, so why would we want to waste their time and ours??? At one time they had it in the shop for over 2 weeks!!! We never had these issues with our used vans. My main fear is the brakes stop working when I have my kids in there or some child is crossing the street and the brakes dont work. We are told every time that they cant find anything wrong. We spent over $55,000 cash and we lose money every time is sits in the shop. The service people have not helped us at all in this dealership and we dont want anyone else to go through this!!! I dont know where else to turn!!!
I bought a new GLC300 and it has had squeaking brakes almost the entire time Ive owned it. Mercedes told me they were aware of the problem but didnt have the parts to fix it last year. They finally did after 6 MONTHS, now the problem is back! I left a message for the service manager yesterday (he had a lunch to get to). Then I called customer service. I STILL HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THE SERVICE MANAGER. You think you are buying a high end car but in reality the service brings down the brand. So disappointed. I owned a BMW prior to this car and I should have stayed with them, their service is top notch.
I bought one brand new diesel Mercedes 250 C-Class and I want to know is it standard safety feature in countries where they keep left to have a pull to left if you leave the steering wheel? I complained to them and they are always so nice that I could not complain strongly. Besides, their team convince me its wonderful. This one year my mental peace has gone and I am using antidepressants (I am a doctor) to keep my balance. I have lived in USA, UK, Australia. I know about high-end cars. Now I want your help. How to help the Germans to improve their car technology? I want to donate my car to them to improve their technology. No conditions applied. They should not feel ashamed because I am helping them so that so many other customers will be benefited.PS. First month servicing, they said alloy wheel bend is there (are they made of alloy or alumina?), and slowly, one of the tires developed one bulge. Later, 2 more. Please help me to improve the great GERMAN MERCEDES BENZ CARS. NO CONDITIONS APPLIED. I ABIDE BY MY LETTER.
I purchased a 2014 ML350 Bluetec and had some problems with throttle responsiveness and transmission revving. After extensive technical servicing, the problem was not resolved. I decided to get rid of the vehicle and get another same model. Within weeks the exact same problem emerged. I contacted head office customer service to help resolve. They pushed it back to dealer who did everything they could however they still expected me to pay depreciation. There is a fundamental performance problem with this model. As a result, I had to get out of the first one where I took an out of pocket hit of $15,451.41 because of depreciation. Then I get into the same issue with 2nd model and as a result of having to get out of it much earlier than desired I am taking a depreciation hit of 23, 734.85. All in Mercedes is asking me to give them $39,186.26 because of a faulty product. This is my fundamental issue. They should be taking this vehicle off my hands without any penalty to me and working to retain my business. Why should I pay for manufacturer defect? I am not interested in paying another cent out of my pocket to resolve a Mercedes defect. I guess I will have to consider moving to Audi or BMW even though I like the ML product when it works properly. Its about the reasonableness principle and that is the foundation of any customer relationship.
I bought my 2010 E550 only 5 months ago with less than 23K miles. Since I have the car, I have been not less than 6 times in the dealer shop for repairs. Today, I had to call the road service as the car didnt turn on at all, I have been told by the gentleman that showed up that there is an electric element killing the battery and I have to bring the car for service again. The first 6 times I have been in the shop is because the volume in the media system stops working, I turn on the car and randomly the volume on the radio would turn on. If the volume doesnt come, I will have no Bluetooth system, no volume on the navigation system, any music, etc. They have changed the radio, the amplifiers, the Sat. unit, but still the problem is there. I am probably too fuzzy to want to have music while I am driving my beautiful car and I also want to have the navigation system to give me instructions when I need guidance. The problem is not just the non-existing volume on the media system once in a while; the real hazard here is that when the volume comes back randomly, it does so at the loudest possible. This is a very serious problem because that very loud volume may scare you while you are driving. It can really cause an accident. I have been told that the problem is the BlackBerry attached to the Bluetooth system but I no longer have the BlackBerry with me and the problem is still present. I believe there is another problem in the car and they cant figure it out. I would like to know if anybody else is having such a problem while driving an E-Series or is it just my moody car. I think if they cant fix the problem, they should get the cars out of the road. It is a very serious problem.
When you paid premium price for purchasing and routine maintenance of a MB 350E, you expect a solid car with good quality. You would be wrong! My 2011 MB 350E has shown poor quality of materials. The control buttons of the steering wheel were wrapped with a piece of plastics and starting smearing. Moreover, the car seat cover has been torn apart, while the main driver of the car is lighter than 120 lb and the car has been parked mostly in garages. You can see that in the attached photos. I have never seen a premium car deteriorated so early so fast. It seems that the car was built with too many low quality artificial materials, or plastics, and not built to last! Maybe MB is expecting people to spend money every other year to buy a new one. Well, with such poor quality, people may have to to buy a new car in a year or two after an MB, but another brand!
This car is everything I ever thought. Reliable, dependable, smooth riding car, handles great on the freeway, strong engine load, great trunk space and beautiful sunroof. Beautiful body, great gas mileage and easier to handle grade on the road. Power windows, leather seats, heated seats season, 2 hand on the road, love to cruise control. Just love this luxury car. Will highly recommend it to others.
I have a 2008 E320 that was serviced at Mercedes-Benz of Portland a few times. Unfortunately, they did not do the work they charged me for. I spent over $3000 in routine maintenance and none of the work was done. There is a HIGH turnover rate with the mechanics and service advisors. I get the impression that the manager is quite ineffective.
I recently leased a GLC 300 2020. From the first day of driving this vehicle a humming noise from the center console started up after approximately 20 minutes of driving. I was advised by my dealership to bring it in to the service dept as this is an issue. The service dept. told me that it is the new MBUX system that has been installed in these new GLC cars that gets too hot so a fan comes on to cool it down. They informed me that because the MBUX is so close to the engine that it gets hot quickly and that the fan has 3 speeds and automatically kicks in at the 3rd fan speech. Additionally, they told me this issue will only get worse in the summer and that everyone with this vehicle will be experiencing the same issue that as soon as they go into their cars this fan will start up right away due to the hot weather. Although the service department acknowledges that this is an issue for the consumer and that this box could be placed somewhere else in the car, I am told that at the moment there are no solutions and that Mercedes is saying this is normal. I contacted Mercedes Benz USA customer service where I spoke with a women named Kiara/Chiara and she was no help at all. In fact I had to chase her to down and call numerous times about this issue. She informed me that there was nothing that could be done on Mercedes Benz end and that the service department would have to provide me with any necessary documentation that I would need to take action. I was completely brushed off by customer service at MBUSA. This is a car company who does not stand by the vehicles that they are selling/leasing and will do nothing of any sort to resolve defective vehicles. Mercedes is supposed to be a Luxury vehicle but this vehicle is far from a luxury vehicle. The service dept. has informed me that others have come in with the same issue as me and from researching online I can see others are starting to report the same issue. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company as they will do nothing to fix defects and just claim its normal. A humming noise coming from the center console is far from normal.
Mercedes Benz: A waste of money on Roadside Assistance Package or Emergency response package. Futile Products that Mercedes Benz Offers: 1. SOS-GPS, 2. Towing Service, 3. Loaner Cars Service, 4. Customer Service. Last week, Our family was traveling to Death Valley National Park from Phoenix for a get together party. We started around 12.00 noon @ Friday from Phoenix and planned to reach destination by 6.30 pm with several breaks in our Journey. When we are on I-93 and close to Mile Mark 64, Our Mercedes E 300 car had flat (tire blow out though it has run flats on it) around 4.30 pm, which is around 180 miles away from Phoenix and another 120 miles to Vegas. We pulled over the car and realized our run flats were of no use anymore. We tried to move our car further down the roadside aisle but the car doesn’t move and shows the indicator as if its disabled. We called immediately to Mercedes Benz SOS call (A red button on top of our head in Mercedes Benz), They received our call and politely directed us on suggestions to press another wrench button to reach roadside assistance. We followed their instructions. We called for RoadSide assistance for help.We had a conversation with roadside assistance for 15 minutes and gave our location along with mile marker. We been requested several times by our Mercedes Benz on our location, We shared what we know as we are nowhere in the middle of desert and don’t know exact location where we are other than our Mobile Phone provided coordinates. They recorded information and said that they are going to look for a toll truck guy to pull our car near to Henderson Las Vegas Mercedes Benz Showroom. We requested either for a loaner or provide a rental car as the toll truck doesn’t pick 4 people due to their policy constraints. We made it clear that we are ready to pay for those services as Safety is much priority at this moment as we are in middle of highway. To our Surprise, Mercedes Benz couldn’t offer a loaner nor rental. Instead they suggested to get a ride from a family member. (Who the hell on the world can give such a dumb response other than Mercedes Benz Call Center when they already know that we are 180 miles away from home location.)After waiting there for 2 hours and having several conversations with Mercedes Benz Call center, They called again to find our exact location as they couldn’t pinpoint our location. We immediately responded them by sending our Google maps locations. After an hour, We called them up again (around 7 pm) and realized that they might take another 1 hour to pick our car. So we made up our mind and said to come and tow as we are going to leave keys inside and lock the car. Here is the interesting part. As Mercedes Benz offers Lock and Unlock features through your mobile App from anywhere, I requested them to call me when they are about to pick my car so that I can unlock using my App. In that way, its safer to have keys inside of car and keys would help to start the engine. The customer service rep says that they are not sure whether that feature works. Bummer. Finally, we agreed to leave keys nearby front tire and leave the place. We called for Lyft and our pick up was ready in 15 minutes to take us to Vegas. Now the question arises on the products of Mercedes Benz. 1. How come Lyft able to pinpoint our location and render services in less than 15 minutes and dropped us safely to destined location whereas So called Advanced Machine Mercedes Benz couldn’t find its own location where it was stalled. 2. How come Lyft being an App operated able to provide best Customer service where as so-called Luxury vehicle Mercedes Benz doesn’t even know how to talk to its customers and provide some solution and get them to safe destination. 3. How come Mercedes Benz couldn’t offer a loaner car to its customers who are in needy (This is desperate state of being safe) than to promote on their brand.4. How come Henderson Las Vegas Mercedes Benz fail to understand the customer needs instead claim as if their cars is good to move on run flats for another 50 miles. (When the car itself states as if its disabled and cannot move). After coming home, We realized as if AAA and Lyft are better than so called Luxury cars. Just think what would have happened if you have kids in the car, same situation and middle of nowhere. Why do we need to buy these cars which sets high expectations on their services but failed to execute when needed?
My ML 350 which is still under factory warranty had some surface peeling off exterior door trim and buttons on the steering wheel. The trim issue is esthetic only but the wheel button surface peeling actually affects the same operation of the car because the buttons which control important car functions are not useable. The two dealers I went to for service were the Palm Beach and North Palm Beach dealers and both were well aware of the problem from other customers and both told me it was my tough luck as the defects were not covered by the warranty. One said it was from driving and parking in the Florida summer sun but as I unsuccessfully explained I spend summers in Colorado and garage the vehicle un-driven in summer. THIS IS MY THIRD AND LAST MB.
I own an ML 500 2008 model. At no more than 10000 km, the front suspension collapsed. 30000 km later, the same problem occurred. Mercedes Benz refused to repair and I had to pay over R30000 for replacing it. At 150000 km the hydraulic pump collapsed. I had to pay R9000 for a replacement. One month later, it collapsed again!! They replaced it on guarantee. One month after, same problem with the pump happened again. They replaced it and said that if it happens again, it is my problem and they will not look at it again!! Now the car has 170000 km and it does not change gears. I have to stop the car in the middle of the road to switch the engine off to reset the computer and start it again. It happened a couple of times during the day. The central locking is not working either. The suspension is making a terrible noise when I go over bumps. This is the ** car I ever had!! My wife drives a BMW, no problems at all.I wrote to Mercedes customer care services a few months ago about the problems and Im still waiting for an answer. The car is always serviced at Bedfordview dealer. What a ** dealership? Its always my mistake for the failures!! Soon i will take the car outside of BMW head office and set it on fire after I invite all the car magazines and the management of Mercedes to see what I do to rubbish cars like this. I will then walk in to BMW AND GET AN X5.
I have a c-class 300 2016 and the screen starts to get lines then it gets worse and turns black, I have taken the car twice to the dealer and they are yet to fix the problem.
On Saturday July 14th, 2017, after about 1-2 miles of driving my 2017 MB E300 started jerking and the check engine light came on when I drove toward the first lane for a left turn on a busy highway intersection. I also found the gear was changed to neutral on the panel. I tried to change the gear to drive while waiting for the traffic light but I couldn’t. I changed the gear to park and stopped the engine to restart the car but couldn’t restart at all. I pressed the MB roadside assistance (MRA) button. They said a tow truck would be there within 20 mins. In the meantime someone helped push the car to move it to the side but the gear didn’t stay on neutral. It kept going back to park. Then it didn’t go to neutral anymore. I got stuck in the middle of the road at the intersection. There was nothing else I could do but patiently waited for towing with my little kid inside the car with an emergency light on and all 4 windows open. The car was heated up with the outside temp of over 90F. My kid was getting exhausted and drowsy due to a high temp of 110F inside the car. I pressed the assistance button again after waiting almost 40 mins and explained about an urgent situation. They said they were still searching for a provider and would text me an ETA of a tow truck once they located it. Couldn’t believe what they said. My kid was almost passing out from the heatstroke. I started looking for other ways to tow my car when I finally got a text from the MRA saying a truck would be there in 50 MINS. OMG! Couldn’t believe what they said! Then a lady stopped her car next to me. She gave us water, let me move my kid into her car with cool air, called her AAA, and let me use the service under her authority. AAA showed up in 15 mins and towed my car to the nearest MB dealership. The service department was already closed because it was Saturday. I left a car key and my contact number. I was more disappointed with a lousy MRA than the car breakdown. What’s the purpose of the button? Why did they install the useless button in the car? If it wasn’t there I wouldn’t press it and waste almost 1 1/2 hrs on the street! What a terrifying and life threatening situation I had! My kid could have died in the car!I got a text from the service department in 2 days. They found a spark plug failed and damaged one of the engine cylinders. The engine now needs to be replaced and no ETA on the replacement. Wow! For less than 2 year old Mercedes-Benz with 17000 miles on? What kind of junk has Mercedes-Benz sold? And more shocked about a very poor customer service to a loyal customer with 10 years old relationship!
Spent over $50,000.00 on this SUV (2017 Mercedes GLC300), for the last year I have been trying to get Customer Service to help me with the Send2Benz feature in the Mercedes Me app. After spending countless hours on the phone with them, a representative told me the particular unit installed in my vehicle isnt compatible with Send2Benz, apparently they used 2 different brands of Navigation in the GLCs and the one in my SUV isnt compatible. I have complain to the Concierge and she didnt seem to care, told me there was nothing she could do and I just have to manually type in the address. I also emailed and called the General Manager Edoardo ** and he will not return my messages. I think they need to replace my unit with one that works correctly.
I have very bad experience with Mercedes Benz. I have two recalls. I have battery problem. It cost me $2,300. My car is 200K but the quality is rubbish. After recall, I have to walk to the North service centre from train station because they dont answer to my telephone call for pick up. When I check the rate of Mercedes Benz, it is 27th which is bottom. The past glorious time is gone. It is absolutely rubbish. Anyone buy Mercedes Bend I call he or she is HOKU, which means foolish people.
A range of problems from drive belt being replaced, alternator, the lights inside not working, clanking from the engine when aircon is on, rear end noise, the car sliding on acceleration (rear end) and then the car misfired and a near miss with a truck. Mercedes has fixed all other than clunky noises and aircon noise. They tells the car is safe, then why is it sliding on the roads and lacking power on acceleration. In the process of picking up my car an hour late from my workplace, they get me a parking fine. They then deliver it back to my home late also. They indicate they will pay the fine, I have confirmation of that. They have not, and the fine has increased. I receive paperwork advising no known issues, though the engine light code paperwork has the misfire in ignition coil noted. My guess is notice done as my car is still not driving well. I ask my complaint to be sent to their CEO. I have not received confirmation of this. Silverstar in Doncaster had advised me that my car is fine and what would I expect of a 2 year vehicle. They offer to replace mine with a demonstrator and inform me they will offer me 35,000 for my 50,000 car and I will need to pay them the gap of 20,000. The dealer principal recommends that yes you should go to consumer affairs. Poor service, poor quality 2012 c180, very disappointed. Here I am now driving a car that does not accelerate and with continuous engine noise and malfunctions. Level of safety felt: zero. I am now due for a service though do not want to be humiliated at a Mercedes Dealership in Victoria again.
I have been a customer of MB of Boerne Tx for a few years. I purchased my last vehicle from them. I will not be going back. On June 27, 2017 I brought my car to MB to check an engine issue. I utilized one of their loaners. I picked my car up the next day and drove to my house. I opened my trunk to grab my cooking cutlery which I had put there the day before only to find it gone. I did a quick check of everything else in the car and found I was missing two other items. What makes this so frustrating is I blame myself since this is not the first time Boerne MB employees have stolen something from my car. The other time, I reported the theft immediately to my service advisor Linda who gave me a complimentary wax job. She told me she had reported that theft to management. I should have emptied my car out before taking it there but I was in a hurry and forgot my cutlery was in the back.I did not bother to go back and report it because obviously nothing would be done or it would have been done the last time this happened and would not have happened again. The main reason I am providing this review is so other Mercedes-Benz owners do not make the mistake I made and become a victim of MB of Boerne employees. Empty your vehicle before you leave it with them.To MB management, I sincerely doubt I am the only one this has happened to since it happened to me twice. This would be easy to find out which of your employees is the thief or thieves. Plant something in a vehicle and track it. You will catch them sooner or later. You have lost my business but maybe you can prevent this from happening to another customer. Had you done this after the first time I reported it to you it might not have happened again. Dont get me wrong, I blame myself but even after the first time I thought I could trust you. More fool me... it has been an expensive lesson replacing my Wusthof cutlery set but it is a lesson learned. I will utilize MB of San Antonio from here on but my car will be empty regardless.
Great convertible car option in a German car. Very comfortable to drive, good electronics, sleek handling, good price compared to Porsche, easy and less expensive to maintain. Good resale value. Good Patel value. The warranty is good too.
I have purchased a 2006 Mercedes-Benz ML350. I have been a Mercedes owner for over 30 years and bought this ML350 to last me for the rest of my life, with the expectations of receiving quality and service.Instead, with 37,000 miles, I have incurred thousands of dollars in repaired services. This could not possibly be represented as the German engineering. I feel that as a consumer, a victim of total misrepresentation.I would expect Mercedes-Benz to stand by their product. At this point, I believe getting rid of this vehicle and purchasing, and finding myself a more reliable and upstanding company to buy myself a new car from.
GKL250 Bluetec and tires - I believe I need to bring this to everyones attention and would welcome a response from Mercedes Benz on this one. I have already written a complaint but they dont seem to be too keen on responding in an acceptable manner. I am a female who lives in Western Canada and our nearest MB dealership is 120 kms away. I bought this car, ex-demo with 1500 kms on it. About a month after I got the car, the run flat indicator came up telling me to check the tire pressure. I noticed that the rear driver side tire was down, so I pumped it up again and reset the indicator inside. A few days later, it happened again but this time went completely flat because I had been driving on it. It was on a Sunday.I called Mercedes Benz helpline and the lady at the other end told me that I had run flat tires on my car and this means I wont have a spare tire but I can still drive up to 80 kms an hour on the tire and take it into my nearest dealership which would be Vancouver (120 kms away). I explained to her that there is no way I could do this as the rim was now sitting on the tire. After a lot of back talk, I finally convinced her this wasnt possible, so she organized a tow truck to come and pick the car up and take it down to Vancouver (at MB cost). The tow truck left a huge black line on my driveway where the rim of the tire had scraped into the tire itself when putting it on the ramp. The next day, Monday, I had a bunch of appointments that I had to re-schedule, so that I could take the bus to Vancouver to pick my car up. I arrive at the dealership and I am informed that the tire could not be saved and was presented with a bill of $575. I questioned why it was this expensive and they said thats what run flats cost. This week, 5 months later, the run flat indicator came back on and I noticed a nail in one of the tires. I took it to my local garage who managed to fix it for $23.99. I asked them how much they would charge for run flats and they said that I dont have run flats on my car and that they are regular all season tires and they would charge for a good tire between $250-$275.As you can imagine, I am not very happy on a number of levels and particularly as I have regular tires and dont have a spare in my car. I referred this complaint to the dealership and was merely told that I have a compressor in the back of my car and I can easily pump it up. This is not acceptable. If the tire had blown out making it totally undriveable and I was in one of the many areas throughout BC that has no cell phone service, what would I do? I can change a regular tire if I had one but in this case, I would be totally stranded! As far as I can tell, this is a big issue that needs to be resolved by MB and I am hoping that they do the decent thing and follow up and to safeguard other owners of these cars.
I am disappointed by the level of service provided by Mercedes Benz South Africa to their customers. I ordered a new C200 in September 2011. I got involved in an accident. My insurer approved the repairs and I took the car to the panel beaters. The insurers provided me with a courtesy car for a limited period.I thought I wouldnt have to walk very long thereafter. Unfortunately, Mercedes Benz did not have parts. I contacted national customer support after waiting more than a month. Parts have not arrived (confirmed with them and panel shop). I asked that I be provided with a courtesy car as I used the car to go to work. They refused and said it was not their fault. I say it is, because had they had parts, my car would be in my hands by now. They later told me the parts had arrived. Panel shop claimed to have received them last Monday (19/03/2011). Repairs will likely to take 3 more weeks. I am still a pedestrian.I loved Mercedes cars. I bought a Mercedes at a price and for, amongst other things, good service. That is what I expected. I value myself and as such prefer to deal with people and companies that value me. I thought Mercedes was among one of them. Was I wrong? Now I know. I may have to be associated with them for longer than I can endure. What a pity?
My vacuum pump and hydraulic system on the trunk locking mechanism has failed. Cannot open trunk with any of the three methods of design. The Dealer laughed at me and said it would cost me over three thousand dollars to fix everything and that was a guess. No help at all other than they said I had to drill out the key hole with tumblers and try to manually open it that way. So I drilled out the mechanism on a car that cost over 120,000 thousand dollars to get into my trunk. Now the problem is the dealer would not code my key to a used lock and said I had to buy one from them at over 500 dollars and they would key that one to my lock. Then I would still have to pay to fix the vacuum pump and hydraulic pump to use my trunk. Frustrated due to the fact of price gouging and poor design from the engineers to make a trunk that is very difficult to open. I cannot lock my car or trunk because it has a smart key that is extremely difficult to use. I will never buy another Mercedes-Benz car again. I will also encourage everyone I know not to buy one.
2011 C class Mercedes - Car sounds like a helicopter (popping ,sputtering and vibrating) when initially started for 35 seconds. Mercedes claims it is a characteristic of the engine. Have been trying to resolve issue with Mercedes of Arlington and corporate for the past 1 1/2 years. If I had heard when 1st looking for car certainly would not have purchased. Very disappointed with Mercedes and would not buy another.
28 times in the shop in a year and a half. Radio, sunroof, and windshield replaced. No support from dealer or Mercedes. Car is slow and sluggish. The car has had numerous problems with leaks and the radio as well as other electrical parts like wiper delay not working, GPS screen blanking out, radio cutting in and out, etc.
The brake sensor light came on in my Mercedes 350 ML. I stopped driving the car and took it in for service. When quoted a price, they said that not only do I need my brakes changed, but I need the rotors changed as well. I asked then what was the purpose of the brake sensor light if by the time it went on, the brakes were so worn that it affected the rotors. The response was that I should have brought the car in for service earlier. I have had numerous problems with this car. The door for the gas tank fell off. The service agent accused me of breaking it off. Why I would do something like this, I am not sure. The rear seat belts continually get stuck, endangering the safety of my children. The console between the two front seat squeaks. The rear view mirror is loose. All minor problems, but something you do not anticipate in a car of this type.
I was excited to buy my smart convertible, which after five years, is sitting in the garage, with the roof not closing. I live in the sub-tropics, rain comes in a split second. Mercedes will not even look at the roof, take the time to try and figure it out, just sent me to a top shop who also had no idea, except to sell an entire new roof, cost over $1500. Service tech said, “Get the roof closed and get rid of it ASAP.” $17000, five years old, trade in value 1500. SHAME ON MERCEDES FOR MAKING A DISPOSABLE CAR!!!
5 months into my 2011 MB E350 BlueTech lease the front left tire blown on a highway. The tires are run-flat Bridgestone Turanza EL400-02 MO Extended 245/45R17 95H. I stopped the car and saw the rim made a cut in a sidewall. Not repairable, I had it replaced. 45 days later, another front tire was again blown on a highway the same way. I put on a spare and ordered replacement. 2 days later, the third tire blows the same exact way. All incidents were on the roads. I travel for 10 years and never had any issues with my previous cars. I complained to local dealer and was told it was caused by my way of driving. Ridiculous! The tire repairman told me these run-flats are not flexible and have a very thin sidewall so it gets punctured by the rim. I feel MB should compensate me for what I paid replacing their tires.
My C300 Mercedes drives smoothly. It is good on gas using 1 gallon for 42 miles. It has seat warmers which are great during below 35 degrees. Tires every 2 years. Maintenance A once a year and oil change every 5,000 miles. The car has been great for the price I paid.
Any car but NEVER EVER Mercedes. Why am I posting here? To create consumer awareness. NEVER EVER MERCEDES AGAIN. Worst customer service ever. Mercedes Benz Canada is the worst company to deal with when there is a problem with the car. Complete lack of customer service and they do not care if you are a long time client. They simply don’t care. After almost two years no one is able to find the problem in my 2018 E 400 at Mercedes Oakville and Mercedes Benz Canada is not willing to do anything. After repeated visits for a problem brought to their attention right after we leased the vehicle it still hasn’t been rectified. We have had to escalate to arbitration but still no help because it is an intermittent noise that doesn’t happen every day. Despite multiple employees hearing the noise on multiple occasions they can’t fix it.Mercedes Benz Canada’s response to arbitration was pathetic. Their response was we are welcome to keep taking car back. They have tried to repair multiple times at an inconvenience to us and their only solution is to keep going back. No one expects multiple visits for a noise issue on a car that costs this much. We were so desperate to get rid of this vehicle that we even went and talked to sales department at Mercedes Benz Oakville who knew about the situation but were unable to do anything to make it reasonable for us to switch cars. They just don’t care that we are unhappy and stressed about paying so much money every month for a car that annoys us. Despite providing them with multiple recordings evidencing the noise they still can’t fix it and just don’t care.Over all terrible and worst customer service experience we have ever had. If you don’t want to have any problem, just DO NOT BUY MERCEDES FROM MERCEDES BENZ OAKVILLE. There are lots of other luxury brands to choose from. IF YOU WANT DETAILS ABOUT OUR EXPERIENCE feel free to contact us. I can even provide documentation and you can make better decisions when you are picking a luxury car.
I purchased my second Mercedes a 2013 GL450. In the less than year I have owned this, the check engine light has been a three-week issue to fix. Just after I passed the 50K on miles and just over the time of 4 years the check engine light came on again. $150 to diagnose. They required a compression test as the results was a cylinder losing compression. $400 to run compression test. After a few more days I receive a call that the #5 cylinder head is bad and will need replaced. Losing 60% compression, bleed off on idle. The cost for this repair was going to be $15,000.00. My question was what makes this happen to a car with only 53K miles on it? Manufacturer defect or a poor build job? No real answer other than it was going to be expensive due to the parts to replace, labor, machining that would need to be done and about 2 weeks to fix. Shy of an attorney at this point. I said this needs to be taken care of by Mercedes. Is this a common situation? If so then a new class action lawsuit needs to be filed. A few more days and Mercedes said they would split the cost with me. Now we are at $7500 if nothing else is wrong once they get into the engine. Still this should be on them for something this major with a car that has no more miles than this one has. $15K is 1/2 the price of the value of the car almost. Crazy. I have tried to get Mercedes to take care of this one. It should be on them for something this major with a low mileage engine issue. Still fighting trying to get this fixed. Any suggestions? I am open.
I was a loyal owner of Mercedes Benz (two cars in the past four years). My most recent purchase is the C350 Sport. It came down with a transmission breakdown last week, after three years and just 86,000 miles. I had the car towed to the Euromotors (Germantown, Maryland). I was told that I was to pay about $10,000 in repairs. I became a Mercedes Benz customer because of your craftsmanship and reputation. I never expected a power train issue so early in the life of such a great car. I love the car; I enjoy driving the car, and I expected to remain a loyal customer for a longtime. In fact, I was planning to trade my C350 for the new E350 Coupe next year. The dealership is not willing to do a courtesy repair on my car because my regular services had not been completed by them. I would like the Mercedes corporate office to intercede on my behalf, but when I contacted them (in not so many words), they told me that I was SOL (short on luck), and I was at the mercy of the dealer. I guess I made a big a mistake when I left BMW to become a Mercedes owner.
This cars performance and comfort of my 2017 c- class sedan is perfect for long trips. The dealership has been very informative and I am very pleased with having purchased a prepaid service plan since this is saving me money on increased costs of parts due to supply chain problems.
First of all, I wish I had known about this site when my incident first took place. I just want to share my experience with everyone so that people can be aware when purchasing a Mercedes Benz. I plan on speaking out on every single forum out there, and if it can help even one person, then I will be satisfied. I live in Los Angeles and purchased a brand new E350 in 2007. Just a few month after the purchase (around 10,000 miles on the odometer? ), I was driving down the freeway when the car came to a sudden stall. The engine completely died, and I could not get it started back up. I was in the second lane from the inside, and the freeway was full of drivers speeding at 70-80 mph. Unable to get out of my car, I watched vehicles behind me careening to a sudden stop or jerking to rapidly change lanes. It was truly a frightening experience.I called 911 to report the incident then AAA to get a tow truck. The CHP arrived within about 15 minutes to help divert traffic away from my car as I was at a dead stop in the middle of a 5-lane freeway. The officers alerted me that it is too dangerous to stand still in the middle of the freeway and that they needed to immediately move my car off the freeway. Since they didnt have towing capability, the only way for them to do that was for them to push the car from the back with their squad car while I steered towards the nearest exit. Without getting too dramatic, I will say that this was probably the most frightening experience of my life. Luckily, no one was injured, and the car just suffered a lot of scratches on the rear bumper as a result of it being pushed by the police car.I wrote to MBUSA and explained the entire experience plus access to the police records. They offered absolutely no sympathy. They didnt even offer a nice gesture by offering to fix the scratches which would have cost approximately a few hundred dollars - pocket change to them. They didnt see any seriousness to the incident. I could have been seriously injured, and I could have caused serious injury to other motorists on the freeway that day. The message that they were sending to me was clear: I am an isolated incident to them, so I do not matter at all. Theyre a big, powerful company with millions of other buyers, so of course they dont care. How nice. Im the familys third generation of MB driver, and I will most certainly be the last.
I custom ordered a 2017 GLC and purchased it last summer. Initially we loved the car but there are certain issues that make the car dangerous in the rain and are highly irritating and ruin the driving experience of the car. The cars windshield wiper system is highly flawed. When driving in the rain, whether it is pouring or light rain, the windshield flutter very hard making driving in the rain unsafe, distracting, and highly irritating. The dealership replaced the blades twice before replacing the actual wiper arms. The problem persisted. Once it began raining more, they noticed more and more customers are bringing in their new 2017 models for the same problem. After testing their inventory, they finally advised us that it is a design flaw and there is nothing they can do unless Mercedes Benz issues a recall.I have attempted to contact Mercedes numerous times, but they are unresponsive. I have no idea what to do now. It is very distracting and dangerous to drive a car with wipers that stutter heavily. Finally, the car has electronic issues. Lights inside the car will go on or off on their own. The car will not lock at times. Bluetooth sometimes works, sometimes not. etc.
My E500 4Matic car does not run and the MB dealership wants me to pay 7500$ for a temporary fix. When I purchased it NEW it immediately went bad... I have paid over 12,000$ for the same issues and now I find out there was a class action suit against MB.. What I have been trying to get here in Florida is an attorney to start one.
I been going through it with Mercedes Benz USA since 2017. I purchased a 2011 S400 in 2016 that one day just wouldn’t start out the blue. I sent it to the Mercedes dealer for repairs. For 2 months they told me they couldn’t figure out the problem. They said every test came back good but they think it might be the hybrid battery. I then was told it may be covered by a state warranty or by Mercedes. I started pricing the battery and it was roughly $5000. I was just preparing myself to pay. I continue to call and they continue to not have an answer for me but they kept me in a loaner for 2 months. Then one day out the blue my service rep called me and said it wasn’t covered under warranty. He told me that it was going to cost $11,000 for the repair. After getting off the phone with him to make the decision if I want to pay or not, I called back to see what that price covered and was told it’s for the battery. A day later I received an email with the statement of charges. That’s when I saw they need to replace something else. They need to replace the Power Electronic Module. I found this weird and called my service rep who was now out of town. So this when things really got fishy to me. I then did a google search about the part and found that it had a Service Campaign Announcement that came out in 2012. I then call Mercedes to see if my car was on that list to be replaced. I was told no I wasn’t on the list but later I called and was told just I was on the list. That when I asked why it’s not covered. I was then told it was covered because the warranty had expired. I told them that the Service Campaign for repair said it was indefinite. They said they had to call the manufacture. Days later I called corporate about the issue and was told they could give me a discount on a car. That they would not honor their Service Campaign announcement. I contacted the office of Consumers. They contacted Mercedes and was then told that they already replaced. We then sent the car fax report over that should it hasn’t been replaced. Mercedes at this point sent a letter back refusing to comment anymore. So they put out expenses pre broken cars and expect to to fix them when they break. They lie and steal from their customers. I have fought overseas just to be ripped off. This is not the American way!
Resolved to my satisfaction.
My 2015 ML350 Model, had 82,000 miles, then the catalytic converter need a replacement. Why? No solution from the manufacturer. The new replacement was very costly. I need help. Maybe a recall is needed.
2012 SLK 350. MBUSA, I do not agree with your companys position. To date, we had the roof trim replaced, the roof trim brackets broken (in shop for repairs), the door panels replaced, the roof cover replaced, and we are waiting for the glove box door (the material on existing one is delaminating). In addition, there are paint flaws caused by poor handling (according to MBUSA). And, after all this, I do not hear any embarrassment or indication of compensations for my troubles from MBUSA or Daimler. I am starting to believe this is standard quality for Mercedes Benz.I agree, having an MB approved body shop do anything to the paint could reduce the cars value (if the value is not already compromised due the number and type repairs already accomplished). At this point, I feel I have the following options: 1) We can file a Lemon Law Claim or other legal claim. This option is not optimum for anyone and my wife will not let me. 2) We keep the car; but given the current position of MBUSA, it is very unlikely I will ever have anything good to say about Mercedes Benz. And my family will never buy another MB product and I will do my best to dissuade my friends, co-workers, people I meet, from buying a Mercedes Benz car. 3) We can trade/sell it and buy some other companys car. I have two very good vehicles from Toyota and BMW. Unfortunately, I fear the trade-in value of this car may be very inconsistent with the possibly overstated quality of MB. 4) We can come to an agreement about compensation/price adjustment. My wife likes the car and we would consider buying another Mercedes Benz in a few years.Honestly, I prefer option 4. You have my money and you can maintain your position, but ask yourselves what if? What if, given all the defects we forced on this consumer, we agreed to compensation of a few thousand dollars for the actual depreciated value to save ourselves more than $30K, $40K, $50K (times friends and family) in future sales. I appreciate your further consideration.
On November 2011, my 2005 SLK350 stopped shifting out of first gear. I had car towed to EuroMotors, and they did diagnostic test for $105.00. They told me it would be $4,331.15 to fix. I called a local import repair shop and had it towed to them. The owner of the shop has had the car for 2 months, trying to get parts from Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes keeps saying the repair parts are back-ordered and that Mercedes dealerships get them first. I spoke to a Mercedes service manager in California, who informed me that this transmission valve body and intake manifolds are widespread problems with their cars. I then called MB of North America, and they denied there was a widespread problem and that there is no recall. They told me that the independent import repair owner can order these parts. The owner of the repair shop has called every dealership in the tri-state area and was being told he cant order the parts needed to repair my little red car that I have painstakingly paid for over the last 5 years.I had car towed again to MB Keenan Motors, and they said they have to do a diagnostic test. I told them I already did that and would have results sent to them. No, they said, cant accept tests from different dealership. I have been told that the transmission is a widespread problem, and yet, MB will not recall. I would like to research a class-action suit.
I own a Mercedes Benz SL 500 (TRS680 GP). Earlier this year, the car went into your workshops ten (10) times before they were able to repair the distronic sensor. At 30,000 km, the car went for a service. Within 50 km after the service, the suspension collapsed and there was a complete failure of the brakes. Fortunately I was able to avoid an accident. The car was towed in to Mercedes-Benz Sandton (corner Rivonia & South) on Monday July 18, 2011. This morning (July 29, 2011), I went and enquired what was happening and I was told the parts for the suspension were due on the 4th of August.Only after the suspension was repaired could they establish why there was a total brake failure. If more parts are required, then I guess there will be a further 3- 4 weeks of wait without my car.The customer service center will not return my calls. (Lance)In summary, straight after the car was serviced, a serious safety problem arose – namely, the suspension and total brake failure occurred. Previous experience showed that repairs, namely the distronic, are not reliable and excessively slow. Please explain to me why I should not notify the relevant authorities on the apparent inability of your group to maintain vehicles in a safe and roadworthy condition.Your reply without delay would be appreciated.
I leased a brand new vehicle GLA250 that has a random ghost acceleration that cannot be fixed. The front differential had to be completely replaced at 4,700 miles on it. Then the tires went bald at 5,000. Then the gym service manager Mark ** says the cars drivetrain can’t handle potholes and these types of problems are common with Mercedes Benz. Their insurance recommendation also refuses to cover this car. It’s been a nightmare as I also ran over the neighbors child as the car suddenly accelerated. Was told to leave the car running for 2 minutes before driving which obviously made no difference. The only excuse is they cannot replicate so they cannot help.Their insurance company says it makes no difference whether they can replicate the issue and should pull the unsafe vehicle from use. But instead they sent this email notifying me that they won’t help or resolve or even respond to the safety concerns “no guarantee that assistance will be provided.” Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is currently reviewing your request concerning the 2016 GLA250W4 bearing vehicle identification number **. We want to set a clear expectation that there is no guarantee that assistance will be provided. Our review process typically takes 4 to 6 weeks; during that time we will be evaluating a review of all repair orders, the number of down days related to those repairs, the overall repair history and your individual state’s statutes.
Purchased a Mercedes-Benz SLK 250 hardtop convertible. After the second leak the local dealer replace my hardtop and installed a fake pano roof that looks like a cheap aftermarket accessory that devalues my car. I purchased a hardtop and that is what I wanted and expected when I returned to the dealership. Now trying to get the situation resolved after escalating to MBUSA. This has turned into an ordeal. To complicate matters, their correction has resulted in a series of additional damages and attempts to profit more from their mistake. I contacted the NC Attorney General Office because I refused to reason with unreasonable people.
Mercedes GLE 350 SUV - I experienced sudden acceleration that caused me to shoot out from an auto wash about 75 yards. A small tree stopped me otherwise I would have landed on a busy road. Airbags came out. All engine front totally damaged. I received minor injuries.
M-benz will hurt you. After my wife having a major electronic failure came home quite shaken just after leasing the Mercedes Benz sl63 AMG, I had the car checked. They said there were no error messages in the computer to collaborate her statements of the lights and the gauges going crazy inside and out of the car, with numerous error codes coming up. We later found out Mercedes Benz has their on board computer set to reboot with critical failure there by wiping the memory clean of the event. After other numerous electronic failures and not getting Mercedes to fix or even acknowledge them, even with photos and video, we were almost killed one night on the open highway on Oct 7 2013 when the same event that happened to wife finally occurred with me in the car. When the electronics went on rampage and freak-out lights flashing, bells dinging, flashing error codes and emergency message causing me to try to get the car on the shoulder of the road, I struck a piece of tire left on the road probably by a truck. It took the whole front of the car out. After 6 weeks of waiting for our car I called Fletcher Jones in Nevada. They told me they could not get the error codes to clear but not to worry, they were going to get it cleared up. 2 weeks later we got the car. I asked what it took to get the codes cleared up, he smiled and said the tech crashed the on board computer and it reset itself. When we drove the car back home from Vegas we had transmission trouble and error codes. I called Fletcher Jones in Las Vegas Nevada. They told me to take the car to Fletcher Jones in Ontario, 15 miles from our home in Verdemont CA. They kept the car for a few days and when they returned it they said there was nothing wrong with the transmission and there were no error codes. After several trips back to the dealership, half of the time they would not take the car. They refused to keep it till it was fixed and they would call me when the part came in. Before the part came in we were informed that my father in-law was on his death bed. I called, explained the situation and asked if they could expedite the part so we could take the car back east. I was informed by party dial that their main tech guy, George, said the car was safe to take back east the way it was.On our way out to pa, when we reached Flagstaff we started to have problems with the trunk not closing and the trunk opening while driving on the highway. By St Louis we had electrical problems and the trunk would not lock or close after opening. We drove to pa with trunk wired shut. While in pa the car was at Mercedes 4 times in 5 weeks. We were forced to stay an extra week waiting for parts to come in. We were told that the electronics were screwed up in the front of the car. Just outside to Amarillo Texas the same thing happened with the electronics that caused the accident and damage to the front of the car in October 7 2013. This time we caught it on video. We almost made it to the side of the road just before the car stopped running and went dark. The car coasted to a stop. We had no cell reception. We waited in the car for awhile. Out of desperation I tried to start the car and it sprang to life like nothing happened. Thank god we got this on video. It DID not matter to Mercedes Benz when I sent the video to Fletcher Jones in Ontario. They said not to bring in the car, they would show the video and Mercedes Benz and get back to us. They never DID!!! So much for the mantra the best or nothing.
There is a manufacturer defect at 57,700 miles. Premature failure of the balance shaft gear due to manufactured with poorly hardened metal. Mercedes Benz refused any help whatsoever for the $5,000 to $7,000 repair. If you own a 2003-2010 Mercedes Benz, better start saving your money up for the repair bill! Mercedes Benz says to Navy service member: We here at Mercedes Benz want to thank you for your service but since you arent the original owner and you havent had your car serviced at a Mercedes Benz dealer, we cannot participate financially. Wow! They cannot stand behind their product or the Mercedes Benz name either. They just hide behind a line of **! We just bought the car 9 months ago. I havent really had a chance to get it serviced at the dealer until the manufacturer defect showed up!
I have a Mercedes E350 and purchased MBrace for roadside assistance. I have unfortunately had to use it about 6 times diue to the low profile tires and NJ roads! One time I waited 4 hours on the side of a busy highway. Apparently they canceled my roadside assistance because when I called they asked if I was in a safe area and I said no so they said they would send police to put out flares or park behind me. The police never showed and why would they cancel my tire change to begin with??? The next time they said due to my location, they couldnt help me, after being cut off 4, yes, 4 times waiting on hold and having to call back!Another time I waited an hour and a half and when the guy finally came, he broke off the piece that is supposed to be removed to allow the jack to sit against the underside of my car. I called roadside assistance another time and it rang, said it was connected and no one came on to help me. I had to hang up each time. I called the info button to speak with someone and she just connected me and I was cut off again! The service is worthless and expensive!
I got a very nice Mercedes Benz new B Class - a demo vehicle that has less than 3k on it and its diesel. A reasonable price deal was agreed upon and according to the MB dealer, fuel filler would be sorted before collection. No chance. Two fuel flaps later and after they have collected (Greenoaks Slough) and put a chip on my windscreen, they cant fix it to get it fitting correctly. MB customer services wont do anything and say its the way the vehicle is designed. Yes. They do MB cars with bits that dont fit. This is my first MB, I am very pleased with the car but not the after sales. This is no better than a back street car lot with a second hand car salesman. I had a C class loan vehicle while they had a look at my vehicle and its fuel filler flap is just perfect. I know its a different model but the principle is the same. It also proves that MB cant do it right. Why, MB? Never again, Im afraid!
Please note that while this review pertains to a 2008 C300, I have spoken to owners of two newer model C300s, and the consensus among us is that reliability is far less than expected, and repairs are more frequent and more costly than we anticipated. Since owning this car, I have replaced several very expensive components, including a drive shaft and steering lock. During a single year, my repairs totaled $3,000. During the following year, repairs were $2,000. These are just two examples of a lengthy list of costly non-maintenance repairs. When I questioned the dealership about this track record, the salesman said, When customers ask me this, I tell them that its to be expected with a high-quality vehicle. TRANSLATION: You arent the only one whos had this experience. For me, the C300 is a low quality vehicle with a fancy emblem on the hood. I will never consider this brand again. If you decide to buy Mercedes, review buyer experiences before you do. You may save yourself a lot of heartache - and a lot of money.
2009 SL550 37K miles. Close to $10K replacing pumps and parts for hydraulic suspension system within last 25 months. Known to have high rate of failure with MB. 2 weeks ago: Total brake failure at intersection. No warning, car hanging out on 40mph road. Alarms, car engine running but with no control. Could not depress brakes per message on dash hard enough to engage gears. Jumped on them and after several near miss t-bones was able to reverse but not stop reverse due to brake failure. Mercedes Benz SBC design flaw and I was lucky. Someone may not be so lucky someday. Will never drive that car or any other MB again. This is another dangerous and documented flaw. MB did not nothing but replace that part. I think I was supposed to be happy. Asked them for fair market value buy back for my car. I was given all the reasons I had no recourse from. They dont take where the car ended up with the brake failure into consideration to expired lemon law period. Better customer service for our Tahoe. More than disappointed.
I bought a brand new 2014 S-class, spending a grand total of $134,000. This is my third Mercedes Benz product. I gave MB another chance after learning they revamped their quality control and assurance programs. The past two cars had its share of very expensive problems, both electronic and mechanical. I have MB another chance on a S-class. Beautiful inside and out, great performance, and loaded with mind blowing tech. Its the biggest purchasing mistake I have made in my life. The first 3K miles resulted in speed sensor failure. At 3.5K miles, another speed sensor failure. At 5K transmission warning light. Dealer could not remedy until they consulted with MB. Warning light reappeared after three days. Decoded and reset fixed it. Now comes strange vibrations during shifts that can be felt in the accelerator when pushed. Dealer claims simple adjustment needed. Problem not solved to date. At 7K instrument/video cluster vibration during highway speeds. Dealer cannot duplicate because they cannot drive it above 65mph. The vibration seemed to remedy itself but I do not believe its resolved. I also complained about the significant amount of brake dust from the front right wheel/brake. Dealer replaced brake pads. At 10K the transmission warning light reappeared. When pressed hard, the transmission would jerk/jump/shoot like a true piece of junk manual transmission. At this point, I made it a mission to return the junk to the dealer. I didnt care how much I would lose, I just wanted them to take it back. The lemon law may have applied but I dont have time to jerk around with MB after three of their cars. I drive quite a bit between hospitals for work and my time is valuable. The amount of time I spent going back and forth to the dealer was nothing short of a nightmare. MB dealer will give you every excuse possible always stating that my S-class is one of a kind. Talking with other MB owners waiting at the service department, Ive learned that most of them were there because of a malfunction, not routine maintenance and/or oil changes like at Lexus. I do not have the car anymore and I have returned to living a normal life in a wonderful Lexus LS F. I have close to 12K with absolutely ZERO issues. ZERO! Goodbye Mercedes Benz. Strike three...youre out!
I own a 2014 SL550 and a 2001 SL500. Mercedes no longer makes the keys for the 2001 SL500 and they can not tell you who can make them for you. I called 2 dealers and the US Customer support line. One dealer said you need to go to a locksmith. I called 22 locksmiths. None make the keys. Two said they cant make the keys because Mercedes will not release the codes necessary for them to make them. So let me get this straight. Mercedes cant make them and they wont enable anyone else make them. These keys have been unavailable for almost a year. If you lose your key, tough luck. Your car is a large paper weight. Mercedes doesnt give a hoot. What moron is in charge of this at Mercedes? Whoever it is, they could care less about their loyal customers and should be fired immediately. I think Ill sell both cars and buy something else. Mercedes has lost me as a customer.
Thanks to diminishing quality and outrageous dealer charges, depreciation on these cars is huge. If you avoid the hand grenades like air suspension, brake issues (2003-2006), exploding early 350 motors, and are prepared to never go near a dealer, you get an outstanding low mileage used car. I have a 1999 E320, purchased in 2009 with 45K miles, well under $10k. I now have 82k on it, and apart from a little A/C work, it has been trouble free and a pleasure to drive. Yes, oil changes are expensive at about $100, but are only required every 12k miles. I also have a 2007 CLK350 Cabrio, purchased last year with only 24k miles for under $20K. I have put about 10K miles on it so far, and it is as reliable and pleasant as the E320.
When we purchased this vehicle new and picked it up the problems started. The speaker fell out of the wall while I was driving home. I fixed it before my wife gets upset about quality. We took the van to Disney and water started pouring into the van from the roof. Took it in and they fixed it and left a dirty shop towel inside the AC unit, plus dirty finger prints on the panels. Door adjustment on sliding door was not correct. Door would rattle while driving. This was repaired at dealer when oxy sensor went bad. Then the egr valve went bad. Then the AC compress clutch failed and was replaced. They made us pay the labor. AC condenser cooler totally disintegrated and fail into the parking lot in a little pile of aluminum fins. The hide lines stayed intact. This was repaired as well.Paint on the vehicle at 8000. Miles started to chip off every time a bug hit it. Now it looks bad. I used touch up to hide it. They said they would fix it and repainted it, but they never did. Now the serpentine belt and pulley and tensioner are being replaced at my cost. This cost 800 dollars, but they were supposed have fixed this with the AC compressor repair. Anyway, there is more. My van only has 38,000 miles on it. Can you believe this. Mercedes has refused to assist and we have purchased 6 vehicles from them through the years. I guess the German quality is gone and they dont care either.
MERCEDES GL 350 MANUFACTURED 2012. I purchased the above vehicle from you in January 2013. In October 2013, for the first time, the dash displayed the warning LR Consult Workshop (see attachment). It has taken Laughtons 5 months to identify the problem and I am now advised another 3 weeks to fix it. This is a totally unacceptable level of service. I am also advised that the earliest I will have the car repaired by is Friday 11th July.Since Im leaving for my annual holiday on the 12th, I have no confidence my vehicle will be ready in time whatsoever. I have been further advised that a loan vehicle from you would not be insured for driving in Europe and is therefore of no use to me. I have therefore to revert to my position of two weeks ago when I wrote: I give notice that unless this fault is fixed by the 30th June 2014, then I will ask you for a permanent replacement vehicle of an equal or superior specification. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICES MERCEDES.
I was enticed by Mercedes to buy this car. I was told that there would be only 150 in the United States and that you could never buy the same model with the color of the anniversary edition. That was all fine. They did not sell the color and there were only 150 made. However!!! When the 2019 E400 came out you can walk into the showroom and buy the car with the same color as my 25 year anniversary edition. Very poor of the mercedes company to do that. I have owned probably 7 or 8 Mercedes in my life, and I have bought last one I will ever buy. The car has devalued a lot because of this. I am looking into filing with the Better Business Bureau against such lousy practice of such a large company. I will never buy another Mercedes and I will tell everyone to never trust what they have to offer. So please!!! In my opinion look elsewhere before you buy and overpay for a Mercedes... Look at Audi or BMW before you trust this company.
We have over a dozen sprinters and our 2 new 2016 models have been in shop several times for major work in warranty and every time now Mercedes Dealers say it bad fuel and I heard of this that Mercedes was telling dealers to use this line to avoid paying for warranty work. We have engine OBD monitors so we know more than the average. Would like to hear from others and working on a class action against Mercedes. I did call Mercedes to complain will not call me back.
At the dealership I purchased my vehicle from, the sales associate, cashier, service and front desk staff are exceptional. They go over and beyond to make you feel important and welcome to own a Mercedes Benz.
This car is an amazing machine that provides a safe vehicle on the road. If you want a car that will hold its value for a long period of time, this is the vehicle. If you keep up the preventative maintenance this vehicle will last years.
They had someone else’s information on my account that I was paying monthly for. I contacted them to no avail! Just canceled my Mbrace services today! Beware they’re horrible, I was paying monthly for a service that they made an error on Surprised that Mercedes Benz is affiliated with them. I didn’t receive a phone call or notification about the error. Thanks.
I have a 2012 GL450 with only 40k miles on it and I have had to have the front suspension replaced and/or fixed 2 times in a few months time. I researched if other owners have had this issue and yes it is a known problem since 2008. The MB dealer even knows of the issues this system has had. The problem is serious and is going to cause someone to lose a life or get hurt severely. The front suspension will just drop while you are driving and you receive a malfunction airmatic error on the dash. This seems to me a recall issue, but for some reason MB does not recall and fix the problem, until I guess a family loses a life. Fortunately my vehicle is still under warranty and they say they will fix it, but this is not my concern. My concern is that this issue is a real safety issue and the NHTSA needs to look into it. Look Takata stepped up and are fixing their faulty airbags, MB you need to fix your suspension systems before someone get hurt or killed.
On June I bought a Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG. After about a week of having the car a check engine light was on, took the car to the dealer and after a couple of days the dealer told me the problem was fix and it was only a bad sensor. After another couple of week the check engine light was on again; took the car to the dealer and after about a week of having the car I was informed that the 4 fuel injectors had to be change. Car was good for about 3 weeks. After that once again check engine light went on; took the car to the dealer one more time and this time is was the fuel pump that was replaced. I express to the dealer I was very unhappy with the situation. After going back and forth with the dealer about the situation, they told me I had to open a complaint with Mercedes-Benz USA by calling a 1-800 number. I did that and after and received a call from a MB regional manager that told me they review my complaint and were not able to assist me with my problem and explain me that if I wanted to get something done further I shall get legal counseling because they were very firm on their position. After all this I decided to move the page and get rid of the car. I purchase a BMW, which I had always have for many years and never had a problem with. This whole nightmare cost me 30 thousand dollars.
I purchased my Mercedes Benz (MB) Metris in 2018, new. 1 month after the warranty expired, I had an ABS sensor go bad. The van had 18,000 miles on it. It was replaced and the next day the ABS light came on again. Thinking it was a faulty sensor I returned it to the repair shop. They called to tell me that this time it was the other wheels ABS sensor. For a vehicle I had purchased specifically for the reliability and dependability I was extremely disappointed that these sensors would go bad so quickly. This is a MERCEDES. My mechanic suggested I contact the dealer. I have called the dealer 6 times, and each time they have said someone in their service department would get back to me. I gave them 1 week after each call to get back to me. I have never had a return phone call. The last time I called I asked for the manager. Again, promised call back, with no call. Then I reached out to make a written complaint on MB of America, still no response. I finally called MB of America customer service and did speak to a very nice man who agreed, this is not a normal thing to occur. He researched to part to see if there was a recall, none found. Then he proceeded to only provide a case number for reference if it happens again... This cost me almost $1000 dollars and I dont believe I should have incurred this expense on a vehicle with only 18k miles on it. For a vehicle maker who claims to be responsive, Im not feeling satisfied.
January 30, 2014 I leased a 2014 C300 from Mercedes Benz of West Bloomfield in Michigan. Upon arrival while picking up my new lease I was advised that my car has been hit and damaged and I would not be able to pick the car up. I waited almost 2 weeks because the paint was being shipped from another country. After that I picked up my car and had no problems with it until June of that year. My first attempt of turning on my AC for the summer was a failure. The AC was not working on my brand new Benz. I took it in for service 5 times for the same issue and every time they assured me that the problem was solved only for it to happen again. Yesterday July 27, 2014 I was driving on the highway going 70 mph, 2 miles before my exit I decide to get off the highway, and thank God I did or else I wouldnt be writing this right now. As soon as I got off the highway my car went from 50 to zero in a matter of seconds.Thankfully I got off when I did or I would have died on that highway or I could have killed someone. Still in a panic I called my dealership and explained what had happened, they told me to contact roadside assistance and have the car towed there and that a loaner car was waiting for me. And so I made the call, I waited for them for an hour. My car could not turn on and it was 95 degrees outside. Finally when the gentleman arrived he loaded my car and we started driving. He then informed me that my car was going to the Novi location which was 30 mins away from where I was now. I explained that my car is to be towed to West Bloomfield, the driver stated that he could lose his job if he did not drive to Novi. I called roadside assistance and they spoke to the driver and told him to turn the truck around and take me to West Bloomfield, he did not listen. We finally made it to Novi, Im beyond furious at this point. The representative at the desk said, I dont have a loaner car for you, and the earliest we could look at your car would be next week. After an argument between myself, the tow guy and Novi dealership I got back into the truck and drove 1 hour in the opposite direction back to Bloomfield Hills. Upon arrival my loaner car was ready. I was then on my way. I then called corporate and advised them of what had happened. I also told them that I no longer feel safe in my car and I either want my lease terminated or to be put in a new car. Today they called me saying it was a computer problem (the whole computer burned out) and once they change the computer my car will be running fine again. I refuse to drive that car, Im waiting on a call from corporate. In conclusion, Mercedes Benz sucks!!!
I have been driving cars for 20 years now and this has been the worst experience ever. I owned Fords, Fiat, Honda and all these cars were decently reliable. I bought a new GLC 300 2020 in Jan 2020 and two weeks later the car started with weird behaviors; it was suddenly off or the battery was completely drained; the driving experience was good. Then 500 miles into the car and it got suddenly broken. The car wont even start so I had to towed it into the dealership. Now they have found some core issues with the electronics of the car and will take them weeks to get it fixed. Make yourself a favor and stay away from this brand.
The Mercedes E350 has been around since 2006. This engine is a true workhorse, which is featured on a variety of body styles. I have owned two of them, the first on a lease and the second one a purchase. Although my current E350 is a 2013 model, it still looks new in style and condition. I have found it extremely reliable and with the MB Certified warranty, a wise buy. There are a number of great improvements to this model each year, but my current 2013 is as good as them all. I will not hesitate to recommend the E350 to anyone seeking a great-looking, luxury car. I found it to be very cost effective to purchase a Mercedes.
I have a new 2018 Sprinter Van 3500 and because of needing a windshield repair discovered rust under the windshield on both side in the channel the windshield sites in from top to bottom. Mercedes is claiming that the rust is due to a conversion to a Class C RV as the roof of the cab was cut by the converter and metal particles caused rust to develop under the windshield and it is not a Mercedes problem. I am having a difficult time understanding how metal particles from a conversion would make their way under an already installed windshield on both side from top to bottom in the center of the channel, not at the outside edge. I am disappointed in what I thought was a quality product and the difficulty experienced with a Mercedes dealer in correcting the rust problem. Not wanting to correct the problem on this Mercedes Sprinter would cause me not to purchase another Mercedes.
Last Sept. 2009, I leased a 3 year 2010 Mercedes ML-350 4matic. The water pump was replaced at the 5k mile mark. Both control arms were replaced at the 10k mile mark. The replacement resulted the off center steering wheel, corrected by miss-alignment with toe in adjustment, resulting in front premature tire wear and loss of correct vehicle handling characteristics. Steering wheel is still off center. The right front lamp marker error message detected at 10k mile mark one year ago is still not repaired. The left front brake wiring harness and sensor malfunctioned at 2 year mark with 18.5k miles. Both rear seat belt harnesses were defective from the factory, only the right one has been repaired.
I own a Mercedes B150 that has many problems. It run 77000 kilometers. When it reached 60,000 kilometers, we changed the left coupling and now we have to change the right one. The fatal problem now is the vitesse which requires the electro hydraulic control unit to be replaced after the car made 75,000 kilometers. From what I know this is an electronic piece in the vitesse, so its incomprehensible that it requires to be changed after 75,000 kilometers only. From what we knew, this is a general defect in the car that must be changed despite its high cost (14000egp). As a result of all the above, we demand that you change the spare part on the companys account because in other cars like the Renault the vitesse has a guarantee until 100,000 kilometers. I dont understand how in Mercedes, which is a high class category, it doesnt cover an equivalent guarantee. Please, consider all this in our complaint. I will wait for your reply, and my best regards to you all.
I bought a brand new, 2012 SLK350 on September 8, 2012. Within two days, a seat belt malfunction indicator appeared on the dashboard. I took it to the dealer on September 13 and was informed that the seat belt needed to be replaced, and parts needed to ordered/delivered from Germany. After multiple stories and repeated calls to the dealership about how long it would take, I finally got my car back on October 4th, almost one month of not being able to drive a brand new car that I had purchased for the proverbial $64,000. I called Mercedes Benz directly a few times and did not get any answer, other than an apology and that they would look into it. I am appalled by the quality, support, and service levels of Mercedes Benz.
2012 ML350 blue tech 38000 miles. Clicking noise sounding like a valve tap (non-mechanical description) but traced to the high pressure fuel pump. Selling dealer replaced the pump, noise disappeared for a month or so and has returned again. On visit to other than selling dealer, shop foreman listened to the vehicle and said he hears this noise all the time and dismissed it as a common occurrence. Find it rather surprising the MB hasnt come up for a fix for this very annoying noise. Any other solutions out there?
Happy Saturday evening. My prayer is that Mr. Stephen Cannon reads this email and as president and CEO works to resolve this problem. I own a 2006 R 350. My problems started with the suspension air parts that cause the car to look as if it has a flat tire, when it doesnt. It looks as if the tire-rods or shocks have failed. With this problem, when one goes bad and you fix it, the other automatically goes bad, so you MUST change BOTH sides. This is not a cheap repair. Actually, nothing about MB is a cheap repair. Once I had that done, the CAM shaft went bad. For this my car has been in the shop for the past 3.5 months. Now after practically rebuilding the engine, the problem is still not resolved. It cant be resolved, because all the parts were manufactured bad so when you replace one part something else goes bad. Ive found online that most if not all of the 06 and 07 R class models have had this same problem, MB is aware and have not recalled the cars. Over $6000 worth of new parts and labor, yet my car is still not fixed. These cars or at least mine should be recalled and the owners should be reimbursed for this literal pain and suffering. I have been terminated from my job and unable to get another because I dont have transportation. This was not my first MB. I have had 4, but this certainly may be my last if I cannot get any resolution to this. I have sent 2 emails. This is the 3rd to MB and was assigned a case manager. She called me 2 times. Ive called her more than 10 times. All I get is a person on the phone that says, I see that you left her a message. Is this the number where you can be reached? I say yes and that ends the call. Ok she will call you today. I attempted to reach MB via a BBB complaint, but they arent affiliated. LOST WITH A R-CLASS LEMON. Its sad that you dont acknowledge that these cars are lemons, but then again you do acknowledge, because you have discontinued the model. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE.
Mercedes Me App - What is wrong with these people. Have been waiting 8 weeks for them to verify that I own my vehicle. Should have been done within 1 - 4 hrs. Waste of time. Dont subscribe to their app. Clearly unfunded and under resourced.

My Mercedes S430 2005, has been repeatedly stalling. Had my mechanic put tester on it and showed crank shaft position sensor. Bought the first sensor from NAPA which was a different color from the original. Dont know if that makes a difference. Car continue to do the same thing. Bought second sensor from AutoZone same color but displayed same issue. Im in the process of taking it to dealership. Very unhappy and dont have money to blow.
I bought my C300 back in 2010 from Walters in Riverside, CA with two year extended warranty. I paid $3000 extra. At that time, Vincent, the agent who sold the car to me said that the seat covers were made from genuine leather. But last year the seat panels on driver side and passenger seat in the back were torn apart right where the stitches were. I went to the dealership in Fresno, CA, but they could not help neither the MB headquarter in New Jersey. I rolled back the cover and found it was made from vinyl. The C300 manual says the seat cover is made of genuine leather and the interior trim is made of wood. These are not true. MB is being dishonest and lied to me. I found on the internet that a lot of customers were reporting the same problem. I am still waiting for the defective airbag to be replaced. MB wants people either forget about the safety issue, die naturally or sell their cars.
I have a C350 2009 that has a transmission double shifting problem from 11K miles. When car is cold, once you pass from park to drive with the brakes applied, you get two hits to get in driving mode. The first one is the common sensation of getting in drive; the second one is like somebody is hitting your rear bumper. After two years driving the car to Mercedes Benz of Pembroke Pines where they tried all possible solutions directed by MB USA, which include repairing transmission, changing computer programs, replacing a transmission, placing a new parts from Germany and more that can be seen in my car maintenance history, all of this represents two years of stress and loss of my time. Today, I was surprised that MB USA got the conclusion based on one of their specialists that the issue in my car is common for all other cars same model parked at the dealer. Is this not amazing? All the money and time spent to fix my complaint got the great and funny conclusion that this is part of the car design? It is offensive. It is frustrating that we, the customers, look for a good and guaranteed car that make our driving and lives easy without problems and results that now I cannot believe in Mercedes Benz as my dream car because MB is designing and building cars that have issues hidden, not described in their owner manual or at least notified to customers. What is happening with one of the best car brands in the world? For sure Ill not purchase any other Mercedes Benz in my life and will not recommend anybody believing on brands. All are the same! If somebody has a suggestion on how I may elevate my frustration and solve this situation is more than welcome to contact me.
I bought a 2007 Mercedes CLK on 1/12/2012, a Saturday. I was told by the dealer that I could not take it home because the check engine light was on and they had to fix it before I received the car, a smog issue with California. You cannot sell a car in California without it going through a smog check. Seeing the light was on, it would not pass smog during a visual inspection. I was to receive the car the following Wednesday, 100 miles away, and they were going to deliver the car to me after they had fixed the problem. More than likely, they were waiting for my cashiers check to clear. I have receipts on all of this, stating they will deliver it to me at a later date and when they would deliver it. The day I received the car, the check engine light was still on and they, the dealer, instructed me to go to Mercedes and get the code cleared because they had put an O2 sensor on it. That was the reason why I did not get the car the day of the signing of the papers. Well, I took the car in to remove the code, but there were 5 codes on it, none of which were related to the O2 sensor! Here are just a couple of codes showing: random misfire po300, and po303, misfire no. 3 cyl and there is more relating to the cam. Now Im looking at thousands of dollars to fix this but they, the dealer, covered their butt by having me sign everything from as is to no attorney if I were to sue them. I want to see all receipts made on this car and see if anything was fixed on it as promised, and the name of the smog company that smogged this car. Im going to file a complaint with the Air Resources Board (ARB). I just want everything fixed with the check engine light off.
Top notch German made car. Drives like a dream, very few mechanical issues and is truly luxurious inside. This car is both beautiful and functional. It’s got the traditional Mercedes look and classic feel that gives a nod to the past while driving you into the future.
Mr. Mercedes: Shake your head or roll over in your grave. Our new 2018 C43 AMG my wifes car needed new all season tires. I went to the Queensway Toronto Canada location and bought the rims and new winter tires about $4000.00, Free storage of our original tires and the new all season installed. Early April rolled by and the weather was warmer time to change the tires, this is when it started like a ** show, my first appointment was today May 29th 2018, requested a pickup and leave a loaner vehicle. We live 2 km away. Abruptly was told NO DON’T OFFER THAT SERVICE”. Went there for my 7.30 AM appointment, the staff opened the door at exactly 7.30am, No greeting other than running in circles getting the staff papers ready to do the staff job, then a HALLLLO no face to face contact. Impolite then I was reprimanded that I was early YOUR APPOINTMENT IS 7.45”. Is there a charge $70.00. You’re kidding. Im not paying to have my tires put back on, WELL YOU BETTER TALK TO ANOTHER STAFF. In the meanwhile other staff are coming to work and exercising their legs getting limbered up for their job but nobody, says hello or BOO. Then Mr STAFF, came by 30 minutes later MR SHUTERMANN, non polite no effort to even come close to pronouncing my name. Then it even got stupider, Mr Staff WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO WITH YOUR TIRES. Now Im asking, “Is this a joke”, for 15 minutes’ worth of work Im there an hour now. My other issues about the car fuse cover keeps falling off and the front hood had permanent paint discoloring, when this was shown, Mr Staff YOU DONT KEEP YOUR CAR VERY CLEAN DO YOU. Now we really get bazaar. MR STAFF says YOU’RE CRITICIZING ME PERSONALLY. Wow now we’re going down a really dangerous ** path unbelievable, the ** show continues. Then Mr Staff asked me WHAT DO I DO FOR A LIVING. I expect an apology from senior Mercedes management. Completely unbelievable.
The car is 2010, it rides like a full size car. Controls are very convenient for access. It has the bi-turbo 3 liter which has more than ample horse power for a sports vehicle with a much larger motor. Repairs are few I the three years I have had this vehicle. Traction in the snow is unbelievable. This car is just a pleasure to drive year round, fuel economy is great.
I bought a new Mercedes-Benz C 220 on 22-09-2015 but, unfortunately, the car after reaching my home garage which is 300 kms from Dealer Showroom is not able to drive through. Its front doors are noisy from day one & the wind screen is always full with moisture thus reducing the day/night visibility to 30%-40%. After continues complain I have received only mail & call but no technician has turned up till now. Also the website sources show that the particular VIN (**) belongs to C220 model & year of manufacture 2006. I am surprised whether I had purchased a new car or a used car? It seems to ask for a replacement.
I dont have any problems like other owners of Mercedes-Benz described here but I am a little bit confused now and scared after reading these horrible reviews if it would be really possible to have problems like brakes complete failure on the highway or sudden fire or any other catastrophic failures resulting in expensive repairs. I do maintain my car myself and so far I dont have any problems - my original tires lasted to 50,000 mi, front rotors and pads replaced for the ceramic at 50,000 miles, I change the oil every 10,000 miles, oil filter after 5,000 miles (it is nicely accessible from the top of the engine - not like other US cars). I have only one issue with rattling sound at the slow speed in the rear on passenger side - it may be a shock absorbent. I have some skills (I used to be a car mechanic on East German cars like Trabant :-) so I can small repairs perform by myself. With something big I wouldnt go to dealership, I would rather find experienced private mechanic in smaller shop. I suspect that after visiting the dealership you may have more problems. Try to change the oils and filters by yourself, rotate your tires and save hundreds of dollars. I love my car and I hope that I will not have the problems like other people described here.
I bought a new MB E350 2014. The car has spent more time in the workshop than with us. List of issues: Noise in the front of car, noise while turning the car. The biggest issue with the car has been getting flat tires on passenger side three times in 4-6 months time. The tire get bubbles and then get flat eventually. This car is only 7000 miles in 18 months. Dealership keep telling us that it hit a pit or bump and other reasons to get flat tire. This is my 4th car and I never had any issue in any cars where tires get flat every two months. I am very very frustrated with this car and would never ever in my life ever ever buy or recommend anyone buying Mercedes Benz.
My old 1998 Mercedes SLK230 runs like a new car, never any problems. We own two Mercedes cars, and both work like a charm. My SLK230 has been driven from Dallas to San Antonio and back in 4 days, and we had no problems on the way. Considering that this is an old car, the workmanship on it is excellent.
Bought New 2009 C300. Only has 40,000 miles. Biggest junk we ever owned. Driver seat came apart. Paint on front bumper cover and all door handles peeling off (all plastic areas). Dealer agreed to repaint. After 1 year its happening again (Color is Mars Red). Car went into lock mode and wouldnt start. Had to be flat bedded to dealer. Blower motor for heat/air burned out. SRS system set off trouble codes dealer. Said bad seat belt parts. Car is out of warranty and have to pay for everything. Never owned such a junk!Bought New ML250 Bluetec Diesel. Just turned 20,000 miles on 4/4/17. Driving down road and starting surging. Went a little further down road and surging again. This time smelling Diesel fuel. Started smoking from under hood. Car broke down. Had to be flat bedded into dealer. Dealer said Fuel leak and all other related damage from fuel spraying on engine is due to rodent damage and warranty is not covering anything. Want to charge me $4500 to $5000 for repair.I dont believe there was any rodent damage and the fuel leak was caused by faulty parts. We drive the car every day. It doesnt sit around. I also drove it all day on 4/4/17 and this happened at 2:30 pm after driving all morning. I opened hood on roadside to make sure it wasnt on fire. Didnt see any signs on rodent nesting or anything. The car is under warranty and extended warranty and they wont cover anything. This is terrible customer service/relations. We are done with Mercedes-Benz. We will tell everyone we know. What is the sense of having warranty when they wont honor it. Rodent or not. Fix it. Warranty it. Its called customer service. What about the oil leak recall... which we havent got. I say that ruined the wires or harness and the oil ate through and that caused the problem. MB wont own up to these problems. When the MB Rep called me back she agreed with the dealers decision. Terrible. We are talking about New Vehicles $100,000 worth of JUNK. Our lawyer will be getting informed of these issues. We also filed a complaint with NHTSA.
I bought a brand new special ordered gl 450 2014. In 6 months, I took it back 3 times to the dealer. Transmission is banging in to gear. They kept it 2 days. Updated a program and problem is worse. Its now jumping on the highway. The dealer said drive it for a month then bring it back if it happens again. It happened while I was driving out of the dealer. No help and I just spend 90 grand on a Gl 450. Never again I would buy a Benz or recommend anyone to buy a benz. Poor service. They experiment on your vehicle.
Never again will I buy a new Mercedes. Our 2011 ML350 has only 22,000 on it as of today. We use it for vacation trips only and it is stored in a climate controlled garaged when not in use. We have had three major repairs in the 22,000 miles, mostly sensors failing that made drivability terrible. Also had to have a new computer installed after several trips to various MB dealers who could not seem to diagnose the problem.Latest problem is bad rattling noise from the front suspension. I took the car to an independent mechanic who has a stellar reputation who diagnosed the problem as upper front strut mounting failure. This was at 17,000 miles and in preparation for a trip to Florida we had scheduled and wanted to be sure it was safe to drive. On that trip I took it to a dealer in Raleigh, NC where our daughter lives to have it repaired (We have no dealer within 100 miles of us here). The dealer verified the strut problem and quoted over $1800 to repair, which was a shock to me as I assumed at 22,000 miles that the warranty would cover this. We were told the time on our warranty had expired by just a little bit and it would not be covered by warranty. I called MB USA and tried to get it covered since it was such low mileage on the car. They would only allow a 40% discount on the repair. I then took the car to the earlier mentioned mechanic who did the repairs for less than the 40% off price at MB dealers. Never again will we buy a MB or have this one repaired by a MB dealer. The build quality on this car is about as bad as owning a Yugo. I have much experience on automotive builds as my hobby is restoring antique cars and building hot rods. I have built several cars from the frame up and currently own two hot rods built that way (1953 Ford F-100 and a 1934 Chevrolet). The car club I belong to is who recommended the local mechanic I use now for all maintenance on my newer cars when I dont have time or equipment to do it myself. The MB was purchased by my wife as her car and we expected much more from such a high priced vehicle. Highly disappointed in Mercedes-Benz.
