I previously own a Mercedes Benz cla 250 and the engine burned. They towed my car to Mercedes Benz service. They said it was burned due to water outside the engine and developed hydro lock that causes fire. I told them I never drive into the deep water. I drove sometime when it rain or to go to a car wash. In short, if the engine of a Mercedes have a little water then the engine hydrolock will not function that causes fire. BEWARE. Don’t buy Mercedes Benz. Maybe you will be the next victim! I switched to another car company and I was so happy this time.

I love my car which now has over 200 hundred thousand miles. It is safe, reliable and beautiful. I will not trade in or sell it until I absolutely must because it is now an extension of me. Its a luxury car, heated seats, makes me feel special, and smooth ride. I have received a higher level of admiration and respect from others when I drive my car. Since the car is an older model it does not have technical advances such as a screen on the dashboard to assist with backup parking, which I would love to have.

I took my car for service, paid for it but it was never fixed, and after several visits, has gotten worse. They now want another payment. I am writing to you in hope that you can assist me with the resolution to a problem with Mercedes Benz of Sanford. I initially took my car in for service of a part that was fixed but was also recommended to perform a service on my transmission. The car, prior to the service, was operational, but it was pushing a bit and jerked. One of the service men indicated that the problem was something that had to be fixed with a computer program. I had previously changed the brakes, so it was not the brakes. The technician told me that the service was recommended at 50K miles for this car. He performed the service and I paid for it. Unfortunately, the problem continued. I went back to the dealership and explained that the issue was not resolved and they said that they would look at it. They ran a diagnostic program. After they used a diagnostic service, one of the service men said that the car was fixed. I drove out of the dealership and immediately felt the problem again. I drove right back into the dealership and the service technician drove the car and told me that there is nothing wrong. He also said that they used a new program to extend the life of the car, an updated program for the transmission and that I would get used to it. The problem persisted and I was told by one of their managers to take the car to Tim at Mall of Millennia Mercedes Benz. I was ignored even though I had an appointment with Tim, and was told that he was in a meeting with the manager. I asked why they had made an appointment for me when he was not going to be available. They did not answer the question, but put me off again. I ended up leaving and the car was not fixed. I attempted to communicate with the managers at both dealerships as well as with the corporate office, and was subsequently told that there is nothing wrong with my car. The company will not answer my questions or fix my car, and the best that they did for me (case manager, Ms. **) indicated I should again visit the same dealership.On Thursday, September 5, 2013 I was on my way to a job interview and the car completely stopped and would not move at all. I was on a busy highway (436) and could have been in an accident during normal conditions. I was very lucky that there were no cars at that time, a very unusual situation on this road. If I had been on the freeway, I would have been in a bad car accident. After my interview, I took the car in to the dealer again and this time they seemed like they were actually going to fix my car. They provided me with a rental car for the time that their car is in the shop and they said that they would cover the cost of the rental car, as they did not have a loaner vehicle.I told them that I had already paid for repairs that were not originally performed and that I expected them to fix my car. Now they contacted me telling me that they want me to pay $900 for the repairs. I have already paid for the repairs that were never properly done on the car. I truly feel that they never looked at my car and did not fix what was wrong the first time. They have since had my car and are telling me that I have to pay this amount. I have already paid to fix my car and after multiple visits, many discussions and letters to their service center, they have yet to fix my car. I am asking for your assistance to resolve this issue as I feel that I have been taken advantage of through this whole process and that I paid for something that was not delivered. I would like my car to be fixed and have warranty for the repair and the parts so that my car operates properly. I already paid for repairs that were not performed and should not pay for something twice. This is a safety issue and they put my family and me at risk by not performing the repairs. I would like to have an explanation of what was wrong, the repairs. Please contact me at your earliest convenience.
I purchased a 2010 C300 less than a year ago with only 25,000 miles on it.
I purchased a 2010 C300 less than a year ago with only 25,000 miles on it. Ten months later, I am told that my car needs a new transmission and would cost about $10,000 to replace it. I only placed about 8,000 miles on the car and was told that my car was out of warranty. I adhered to all of the maintenance requirements and had my car serviced at all due dates. The car dealership told me that I should contact Mercedes Benz to ask for assistance because this was highly unusual. After calling Mercedes and pleading my case, I was told that the only thing they would do is offer me 10% off repairs or $1,000 towards the cost of a new Mercedes. I continued to plead and wrote letters to the top officials and never received any help or assistance. To make matters worst, I prepared myself to order the transmission and have it installed only to find out that the transmission is on back order. Mercedes Benz told me that it could take up to a year to have a transmission available. This is coming from the MB manufacturer that makes the cars and they dont have a transmission available. Now, my car sits in a garage unable to move while I still make the monthly payments. Buyers should be aware. This company does not provide customer assistance or service. I will never buy another MB.

I lost my Mercedes E350 key. Ordered duplicate key, paid $100 for key and $170.00 shipping from Texas, I am not sure what kind of shipping they use. If I order two keys they said double shipping charge. So I settled for one. Key comes- it does not work. Call the dealer they said it never happened before. I need to get car towed. Call my insurance they sent a tow but he could not get car out of park. Then called Mercedes USA they sent a tow person. He said “I do not know”, finally I talk to dealer who got mechanic on the phone and gave him instructions. Car reached dealership, of course the key is wrong, got another key from Texas and it worked. It is amazing how after charging so much people can be doing such mistakes, no apology and no loaner. I was without car for 3 days after paying $300.00 for key and no fault of my own. I have Volvo and Lexus other cars, they never charge for inspection, but at Mercedes they charge me $29.00 for that also.

I purchased my Mercedes SLK 350 new in 2005. The car currently has 49,000 miles on it. Within the last month while driving, my transmission has gone into neutral causing the car to lose forward motion and not allowing me to regain drive. This occurred on the freeway at 65mph, in traffic on a major boulevard and most recently on a one lane, steep downhill grade in Malibu Canyon. Each time I had to coast off the highway, turn off the motor and wait. Then I would restart the car and it would become drivable again. After the last incident, I took it to Silver Star Mercedes in Thousand Oaks where I have my SLK350 serviced and where I purchased it new in 2005 as a retirement gift to myself. After performing tests, they said it was a defective speed sensor and would cost $2,500 to replace. Even though the car only had 49,000 miles on it, they wouldnt repair it under warranty as the 5 year (50,000 mile) factory warranty had expired. Before authorizing the repair, I researched NHTSA to find out if there had been other reports of the same problem. While there are some reports of this on my model, there have been numerous problems with other Mercedes models speed sensors that have been repaired for Mercedes owners as a safety issue. Some of those repairs were directed by the NHTSA.Considering that the issue seems to be safety related and my Mercedes only had 49,000, well-maintained miles on it, I asked my service rep if he would mind contacting Mercedes about this issue and see if they would repair it or at the least, share in the cost of the sensor repair. Two days later, the dealer contacted me and said Mercedes wasnt interested. I am surprised and disappointed in Mercedes for their seeming lack of interest and Silver Star for not offering a cost adjustment in the absence of Mercedes not reaching out. It is my understanding that Mercedes has become more proactive in safety related issues and gives their dealers more flexibility in situations similar to mine. I have a genuine concern for my familys safety and the safety of other Mercedes owners and their families.

I called roadside assistance to help with a flat tire on Saturday. They responded in just under 1-1/2 hours and changed the tire. Dumped the flat one in the trunk on top of clothes and left trunk a mess. Second tire damaged but not flat. If flatbed needed, they now charge you if you are out of warranty - no more lifetime support. Parts had to get back to me if they could replace tires so went elsewhere.

We had a 2012 GL450 which we loved. It drove like a dream and convinced us Mercedes would be our choice from that time on. The navi system and controls were the only negative issues. So with that in mind, we upgraded to a 2015 the next year. Totally different car. The headrests are a nightmare. They are big and chunky, and the second row rests bob continually. You have to use pressure to lean back, and it drives passengers insane. You cant leave the rests down with passengers because it is a hard rock in your back if you do. I could go on and on about these. They cant be removed and when we asked the dealer if we had a lemon, he said he checked, and some do it and some dont. So no satisfaction in that.Another change is the seat controls are up higher on the door and not down on the lower part of the seat. This is inconvenient to me. Hard to explain but you tend to look at it when adjusting rather than feeling and keeping your focus on driving. Also, there is restricted movement with the wheel. In the 2012, when you adjusted your seat you could then adjust the wheel to any position, ie up/down/in/out. Not so with this one. Depending on the position it will not give full range. So I cant customize it to fit my comfort. The 2015 does handle well and the navi system is better, but still is not equal to some of the other car companies. But the insane headrests are the deal breaker. We are ready to trade/sell and find another company other than Mercedes.

I have a new 2018 Sprinter Van 3500 and because of needing a windshield repair discovered rust under the windshield on both side in the channel the windshield sites in from top to bottom. Mercedes is claiming that the rust is due to a conversion to a Class C RV as the roof of the cab was cut by the converter and metal particles caused rust to develop under the windshield and it is not a Mercedes problem. I am having a difficult time understanding how metal particles from a conversion would make their way under an already installed windshield on both side from top to bottom in the center of the channel, not at the outside edge. I am disappointed in what I thought was a quality product and the difficulty experienced with a Mercedes dealer in correcting the rust problem. Not wanting to correct the problem on this Mercedes Sprinter would cause me not to purchase another Mercedes.

There were no power. I got home and went to somebody else to help me. There they found that my car had dropped a valve on the no. 1 cylinder!! I had to buy another engine. Mercedes will not even look at the roof, take the time to try and figure it out, just sent me to a top shop who also had no idea, except to sell an entire new roof, cost over $1500. I purchased a Mercedes 500 SL from Mercedes dealer in Wisconsin. The car was shipped to me to Houston, Texas. It was 2006, the car was still under factory warranty. The first month I bought it, the transmission went out so I took it to Green Bay Mercedes dealer. They put a brand new transmission. 2 years later, I shipped to Jordan, Amman. The transmission went out again, so I took it to a Mercedes dealer in Amman. I had to pay this time, $4700 to rebuild the new transmission. I am so disappointed with Mercedes Benz now. I feel like I just bought a lemon.

We had our car serviced here and when we got it back it CAUGHT ON FIRE and so it begins. Trust me... Its worth the read. :) Heres the situation: A couple of days before Xmas, our car shut off in a parking lot and wouldnt turn on even after roadside assistance came and we hooked up a new battery. We had it towed to Autohaus on Edens, Northbrook Il based on a recommendation and because it is a Mercedes dealer and we wanted trustworthy service. They did a diagnostic and had a hard time figuring out the issue.Tom ** was very communicative and explained they were checking the battery and all the electronic systems etc but it was taking some time. Finally, we go word that they had identified that it was the EIS system. They replaced that system, completed the installation and they did a multipoint inspection to identify potential issues as well as confirm that the battery, cables, mountings etc. were inspected and were AOK. This took 10 days.We got the car back. It CAUGHT ON FIRE while were were driving. The fire was where the battery is located underneath the passenger seat with flames and smoke billowing up. There was no indication anywhere on the dashboard that there was a problem. Thank god We were not on a highway and that one of my kids or spouse werent sitting there when this happened or we could have been killed or badly burned. Luckily it was snowing a boatload and we got the fire out by shoving snow on it and when the smoke cleared, we noticed the red safety plate that typically covers the positive connection had been removed and was sitting placed in the back of the passenger seat. We took pics, contacted our insurance who told us to contact the dealer and let them know once we had a cause.We contacted Tom ** at Autohaus on the Edens and explained the situation. He advised us to have it towed back there so they could do an investigation. We had the car towed up there and he called a couple of days later and stated that they needed us to authorize $500.00 to pay for a further diagnostic because they had to pull up the seat to determine the cause of the fire. He believed it was an issue with something shorting out the battery but needed confirm. We agreed to the diagnostic. He commented that they never touched the battery the first time we brought it in. We reminded him (we have his voicemail) that when we brought the car there the first time, he let us know they couldnt figure out the problem as they had tested the battery and it was working fine.They also completed installation of the battery (he confirmed) and finally they provided us with a multiple point written inspection report where they specifically stated that they inspected the battery, cables, mountings etc. and all are AOK. We again brought up the missing red safety cap that should have been covering the positive wires and he stated that doesnt matter and isnt the issue. We asked if the exposed wires that should have been covered by the cap could have caused the fire if they sparked and he said he wasnt sure but would know more once they did a full investigation.We waited and then received a report where no diagnostic was included but rather they just supplied the cost of the damage and repairs for $4600.00. Included in this report was a new multipoint inspection where they stated that they inspected the battery, wires, mountings and cables and all were AOK. Except that the battery had melted as had the connecting wires and cables. WHAT? Hmmmm.He followed up with a phone call and stated that they thought the battery was faulty and we should go after the battery company. We asked why that wasnt listed as a diagnostic he said he couldnt legally state that but we actually paid 500.00 to figure out the cause and we would need that to go back to the battery company. We also asked bout that multipoint inspection stating all was ok with the battery, cables, mountings etc. When, in fact, they had been in a fire and all was melted/seriously damaged. What we learned from Tom ** is that these inspections are a courtesy and they may or may not actually do them! What?I brought my car to Mercedes because I trust they do what they said they did. I trust their recommendations. It turns out that they dont actually do the inspection. These two reports confirm this fact. Which brings me back to the first time around. If they had actually done the inspection, wouldnt they have either picked up on a loose wire and/or the missing plate? Seems reasonable. Note to self: They do NOT do the inspection, just say they do.We asked him to document the faulty battery and then we got another report where the multipoint inspection reflects that the battery, cables, mounting etc. are NOT AOK and also NOT documenting a faulty battery as the cause but instead identifying some loose wires by the positive battery cable (that would have been covered had the cap been on or picked up if they actually did the inspection) added 250$ to the bill and sent it over. 4900.00 and no cause or accountability. At this point in the conversation, we contacted the head of service Jim ** who had Tom call us back because he was too busy. You can imagine our frustration! The worst part is Tom was very polite and kept saying we want you to have a great experience and be happy. Not possible at this point.We brought our car here in December and spent 1800.00. Got it back and then it CAUGHT ON FIRE while we were driving! We bring it back again and get a huge runaround with no clear cause, conflicting reports, phone calls that conflict what was written and all the while they have our car as a hostage! Finally after 2 weeks without a car Jim ** agrees to talk to us. He does not appear to have an understanding of the details to date and the gist is he asks: What do you want? Do you want me to pay for this? Cause that isnt gonna happen. Call your insurance and have an adjuster come out. We dont want to push a claim on them but thats why you have insurance. Once we figure it out we can get you loaner and I can cover your deductible.Progress! I contact my insurance to explain that we are at an impasse and give them the details. They agree that this sounds very suspect and they get involved (thank God) but due to Covid it will take them a few days to get out there. I call Jim back with the update and he says great but no deal on the loaner. There is a catch. I can get a loaner once insurance agrees that they will pay for it...interesting.... The next day, Tom ** calls to reinforce that we will NOT get a loaner until insurance agrees to pay. He ends the convo with we want you to have a great experience. Seriously? (Note: if you have a Mercedes, get rental insurance with your car insurance!)Finally insurance and Autohaus strike a deal that is less than what they charged us initially at $4200.00 and Tom calls to state that it will take them another 7-10 days but we can have a loaner as long as we bring it back every 3 days... no exceptions. What?! Has anyone ever gotten a loaner for longer than 3 days from Autohaus on Edens? I know I have from Mercedes downtown. We live 40 minutes away; we have 4 kids; We have been without our car for 2.5 weeks (due to what appears to be negligence). We never got a loaner the first time either....oh and we had our car serviced there and then IT CAUGHT ON FIRE which is why we need a loaner! This was the WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!When we go to pick up the car, there is yet another report differing from the first 4 and they have added charges for additional parts but dont know what the parts are. Literally a change for parts unidentified. They told us to pay the difference and that they had contacted our insurance who would reimburse us except...wait for it...not accurate. And regarding those outstanding charges that we paid for? They will get back to us on what they were for. Still waiting.What about MERCEDES USA you may ask yourself? Well we also involved Mercedes USA and spoke with Susan, Executive Referral Manager at HQ in Georgia and she is supposedly investigating to see if there was a car malfunction but dealerships are basically franchises and they have no involvement AT ALL! What? They said this type of situation has nothing to do with them.Also she indicated that if we got the car fixed, they may not be able to investigate which is ridiculous. You would think Mercedes USA would want to inspect what happened when a Mercedes Benz catches fire at the battery under the passenger seat while being driven and there is no indication other than the flames and smoke engulfing the car that there is an issue? And that this occurred immediately after having it serviced at a Mercedes Benz Dealership. I guess not. It is so far down their list that after we submitted the photos and took the time to fill out all the information she has not responded in any way. Thankfully no one was hurt or killed or this would be a very different conversation.How did it end? We got our car back and we got the battery back as well. We are waiting to hear whats next from Mercedes. It was too big of a deal to not leave you with the details so there you have it! Dont go to Autohaus on Edens and if you do: know that the multipoint inspection isnt real. To be quite frank do yourself a favor and dont buy MERCEDES. If you want a German car...I would say look to buy and Audi or a BMW.

It is my duty as a member of my community to issue this public service announcement. Please read and think carefully before buying or leasing any Mercedes vehicles. My wife had always dreamed of driving a Mercedes. After months of shopping around for the best model, I finally surprised her with an E350 in November 2013. Unfortunately, within one month a bubble was formed on the front passenger tire and it ended up popping while I was driving 30mph on a date night with my wife. I brought it into Mercedes to be serviced and I was assured that this does not happen often, so they replaced it for free. After this first incident, I was a bit wary but still was optimistic that her car was safe to drive.About a month later, my wife was driving alone late in the evening on her way to a class when she hit a minor pothole and both her front tires popped. My wife immediately panicked, because she was stuck in New Rochelle, pulled off to a road late at night and had to wait two hours in the cold for a tow truck to come. During this long wait, she noticed hundreds of cars driving over the same road that were not affected. This was the last time she ever drove this car alone.Through the spring, I continued to notice bubbles appearing on the tires. In March of 2014, there was a bubble on the front and rear passenger sides of my car, which both had to be replaced. This brought the count up to 5 tires in 4 months. By April, there was another bubble on the front passenger which brought the count up to 6, so 6 new tires within 5 months. Im 52 years old, and have driven over a dozen cars in my lifetime and I have never experienced anything like this. Every time I would bring my car into Mercedes I was told that my car was safe and this shouldnt happen again.In September of 2014, around 9 months into my Mercedes experience there was yet another bubble forming on the front passenger side of my car. As usual, I brought my car in to be serviced and they assured me that this would not happen again. I was skeptic, but I needed a car to get to work, so I continued to drive the E350, which had become my car after my wifes traumatic experience with it.The winter was a long, brutal one so I tried to avoid driving the Mercedes as much as I could. Once the snow cleared up, I started to drive it more regularly and of course in the second week of March, I noticed a bubble on both the front and rear passenger sides of the car. Ive become an expert on these situations, so as per usual, I brought it into Mercedes to be serviced. Less than a week later, I was with my wife, and her friend who has a newborn child when the car hit a pothole on the freeway. The front passenger tire popped, and the three other tires had bubbles that had to be replaced. We had to sit on the highway, with a newborn child and wait 40 minutes for a tow truck to come and rescue us from this madness. During this 40 minutes, with the baby crying and my wife and her friend in fear that another car could crash into us as we waited on the highway, I observed that no other car had any issues driving over those potholes. My tire count was now 13 tires in16 months. 9 days later, I was driving home at night around 10PM and yet again another tire blew. Although Im young at heart, I can no longer deal with the stress and fear of driving this luxury car. I had previously owned or leased many different brands of luxury cars including Lexuss and Audis and I have never experienced anything like. After every one of these occurrences I called Mercedes and asked if there was any way I could get a new model car that wouldnt have this issue or end my lease short, and they continuously blew me off. After my 14th tire had to be replaced, I called Mercedes corporate to alert them of this issue and to my surprise they werent alarmed and didnt seem to think this was a serious issue. The regional manager I spoke to - **, who claims to not have a supervisor told me that the issue was with the roads, not with the car. Yet, when I asked him why this happened to me through every season and didnt seem to impact any other cars, he had nothing to say. So, please, think carefully before letting any of your loved ones or yourself drive one of these dangerous vehicles.

CLEARLY MANUFACTURER PROBLEM!!! Traded in my 2011 Mercedes Benz E350 for a 2016 Mercedes Benz E350; my favorite vehicle and fourth one I have owned. I only drive it on the weekends, Since the purchase in May of 2019. I have driven the 2016 probably 10 times on Sundays to church. It has never left the state of Georgia. Upon returning from being at Church all day Sunday February 16, 2020 730 am to 730pm. I parked the car in my garage, an hour or so later I realized I forgot something in the car. Hearing a crackling noise I began to look at the golf cart charger and the only other thing in my garage, the car. The rear window had completely shattered! it appears as though the sealant is missing from the upper left and right corners of the rear of the vehicle. MICHAEL G OF Mercedes tells me there is nothing they can do since there arent any open recalls. I have never seen such a thing! **

Quiet ride, to the point where you feel so comfortable you want to rest instead of driving this vehicle. Now there is a good side to anything and there is the other side! Someone once said if you have to ask the price you must not have the ability to afford the cost to make repairs! First order of business, vehicle warranty a MUST! You ended up selling your first child to keep it on the road. Average maintenance cost per year $2,000 to $3,500 even if you have a good warranty. Tires, tune up, head lights for starters. The ride, the looks, the style might be worth the price to you.

Mercedes Benz: A waste of money on Roadside Assistance Package or Emergency response package. Futile Products that Mercedes Benz Offers: 1. SOS-GPS, 2. Towing Service, 3. Loaner Cars Service, 4. Customer Service. Last week, Our family was traveling to Death Valley National Park from Phoenix for a get together party. We started around 12.00 noon @ Friday from Phoenix and planned to reach destination by 6.30 pm with several breaks in our Journey.When we are on I-93 and close to Mile Mark 64, Our Mercedes E 300 car had flat (tire blow out though it has run flats on it) around 4.30 pm, which is around 180 miles away from Phoenix and another 120 miles to Vegas. We pulled over the car and realized our run flats were of no use anymore. We tried to move our car further down the roadside aisle but the car doesn’t move and shows the indicator as if its disabled. We called immediately to Mercedes Benz SOS call (A red button on top of our head in Mercedes Benz), They received our call and politely directed us on suggestions to press another wrench button to reach roadside assistance. We followed their instructions. We called for RoadSide assistance for help.We had a conversation with roadside assistance for 15 minutes and gave our location along with mile marker. We been requested several times by our Mercedes Benz on our location, We shared what we know as we are nowhere in the middle of desert and don’t know exact location where we are other than our Mobile Phone provided coordinates. They recorded information and said that they are going to look for a toll truck guy to pull our car near to Henderson Las Vegas Mercedes Benz Showroom.We requested either for a loaner or provide a rental car as the toll truck doesn’t pick 4 people due to their policy constraints. We made it clear that we are ready to pay for those services as Safety is much priority at this moment as we are in middle of highway. To our Surprise, Mercedes Benz couldn’t offer a loaner nor rental. Instead they suggested to get a ride from a family member. (Who the hell on the world can give such a dumb response other than Mercedes Benz Call Center when they already know that we are 180 miles away from home location.)After waiting there for 2 hours and having several conversations with Mercedes Benz Call center, They called again to find our exact location as they couldn’t pinpoint our location. We immediately responded them by sending our Google maps locations. After an hour, We called them up again (around 7 pm) and realized that they might take another 1 hour to pick our car. So we made up our mind and said to come and tow as we are going to leave keys inside and lock the car.Here is the interesting part. As Mercedes Benz offers Lock and Unlock features through your mobile App from anywhere, I requested them to call me when they are about to pick my car so that I can unlock using my App. In that way, its safer to have keys inside of car and keys would help to start the engine. The customer service rep says that they are not sure whether that feature works. Bummer. Finally, we agreed to leave keys nearby front tire and leave the place. We called for Lyft and our pick up was ready in 15 minutes to take us to Vegas.Now the question arises on the products of Mercedes Benz. 1. How come Lyft able to pinpoint our location and render services in less than 15 minutes and dropped us safely to destined location whereas So called Advanced Machine Mercedes Benz couldn’t find its own location where it was stalled. 2. How come Lyft being an App operated able to provide best Customer service where as so-called Luxury vehicle Mercedes Benz doesn’t even know how to talk to its customers and provide some solution and get them to safe destination. 3. How come Mercedes Benz couldn’t offer a loaner car to its customers who are in needy (This is desperate state of being safe) than to promote on their brand.4. How come Henderson Las Vegas Mercedes Benz fail to understand the customer needs instead claim as if their cars is good to move on run flats for another 50 miles. (When the car itself states as if its disabled and cannot move).After coming home, We realized as if AAA and Lyft are better than so called Luxury cars. Just think what would have happened if you have kids in the car, same situation and middle of nowhere. Why do we need to buy these cars which sets high expectations on their services but failed to execute when needed?

I have owned Mercedes Benz vehicles for over the past 10 years getting a new vehicle every 2-3 years. I have never had a need for warranty repair until now. What a complete failure! My 2013 S-Class left my wife and kids roadside nearly 2 weeks ago. Towed to the local dealer, 24hrs later I told that my 1 year old under warranty S-Class will not be covered and the repair will be $31,000+ due to lack of oil change. That is simply not true other than I did not have the oil changed by MB! I contacted corporate MB to dispute the dealer’s statement that the repair will not be covered under warranty. I was told someone would call me back within 24 hours. The following day I heard from someone who captured the information and told me she would handle it and I would hear from her soon. That was 10 days ago. No return phone calls! I called this corporate contact 4 days ago for an update and she informed me she has no update for me and would call me back. No return phone call! It has been 12 days, we are without our S-Class, and I have been renting a car myself while waiting on MB. I am disgusted by the poor service provided by Mercedes Benz! This is supposed to be a luxury brand that you pay a premium price and have an expectation of better than average service. That could not be any further than what my experience is. This is the first time I have ever needed warranty of a Mercedes Benz and this is a complete and utter failure! It has come to an attempt using social media to reach someone at MB that cares to service the issue since the normal channels have yielded me no results, not even a return phone call.

My car currently has ~40k miles. When I was at 37k, my check engine light came on. I took my car in and was told that it has a problem with the transmission and it would be about $4500 to fix. The check engine light continued to come on and the next verdict was a problem with the engine. Another $1500. I have been driving a MBZ since 1986 and am a very loyal customer. That said, I doubt I will ever again buy a MBZ. I am trying to get MBZ USA to do something about it but cannot connect with customer service. I was told that the transmission problem is common on the 2006 E350 and that MBZ knows about this problem. If so, they need to address it. I should not need over $5000 worth of work on a $60k car with less than 40,000 miles.

2012 GL350 blue - An absolute nightmare of epic proportions. Purchased new from my dealer to drive to Georgia. Drove the following day to GA and back. Noticed oil all over my garage floor. Called dealer immediately and took in. Told loose oil line. This continued to happen four more times. Drove car very little. Had two other cars. One week before I was due to turn in was driving it and check engine light came on. Called dealer. Said couldnt get me in. To keep driving it, that it probably was just a bad sensor and happens all the time. I parked it over the weekend and didnt drive it. Following Monday took it to take my daughter to dentist, dash lights flash, power steering goes out, car is dead. Had towed to my dealer. Was told engine full of sludge. Engine blown and they can fix it for $30,000.00. Words cannot express my feelings in buying a $70,000 car and having a blown engine at 26,000 miles with no warranty. This happened in August. I renewed my lease and took to a certified garage for repairs. Came home to an orange notice two days before Christmas from a repo agent. I called immediately. No one would answer. Left two messages. Called MBFS said they were no longer going to honor the lease extension and want the car back. I explained to them the car is being fixed. You know where it is and have the whole time. They agreed. Such a horrible nightmare. Made all my payments. Fixing car which was not my fault to begin with. Have all records of leak from my dealership, also the oil all over my garage floor (lucky for me my dealership did provide me with degreaser as their solution to get the oil off the floor, which it didnt), also have letter from Mercedes wanting to take my car to their proving grounds in Ann Arbor Michigan; that they are running test on the Blue engine from 2012. I would appreciate anyones help. Too many details to list all here. Most unbelievable. So utterly devastated.

Then they said they would fix two issues, squealing brakes and squeaky dash. They fix the squealing brakes but would not fix the noise in the dash. Customer service would not help and the manager of the dealer would not Return my call. They lie about customer service in my opinion, no way will there be a Mercedes-Benz in my family ever.

In order to get the improved navigation disk, I must pay $300 for the update disk and another $250 for a security number to unlock the update disk I bought. I already paid for a navigation system when I bought the car. Now these greedy Germans want $250 just to unlock the disk they sold me. I could buy a new iPhone for what they gouge customers. Im done. Never again will I own a Mercedes-Benz.

A few days ago my 5 year old daughter spilled a 1/3 full kids water bottle on the floorboard of the right rear seat. The water bottle holds 12 ounces so I estimate this was 4 ounces of water. 30 minutes later the car started smoking inside then the dashboard display went blank. We took the car to Fletcher Jones Mercedes Benz and today received the news from their service department that the Control Unit had shorted out from what appeared to be a clear liquid, leaving us to assume it was caused by the 4 ounces of water. The Control Unit is located directly under the front passenger seat. It is only separated by the carpet. Of course, they said this is not covered under warranty and the cost to replace this unit is almost $8,000.Why would Mercedes place a computer for the car under the passenger seat without at least making it a little water resistant? In rainy days people are constantly getting in the car with wet feet. When you have kids its not uncommon for things to get spilled on the floor. For such a thing to cause the brains of the car to malfunction is simply poor design. It makes me question other design components from this manufacturer. Not well thought out!

MBUSA/CAC Roadside Service is not what it seems to be. MBUSA/CAC will straight out tell you what you want to hear and then dont assist as they say. They blow smoke up your **, Go see the dealer. They will make the decision. Then the dealer say MBUSA has final say. They pass the buck and dont help. As far as roadside, they use Allstate Road Service when you are not close to 30 miles of nearest dealer. Allstate does more damage to vehicles than good. They (so called techs) dont know if your vehicle needs shorter lug bolts to mount spare wheel and then they damage brakes, caliper, wheel and other components. Dont trust them.

The blind spot sensors are a godsend. My wife is a fairly new driver who I know doesnt check her blind spots as well as she should. The alert makes me feel much better about her driving. The vehicle has several modes that affect acceleration and handling. The only 2 that really matter are Comfort and Sport. Sport really brings out the power in the vehicle, and Comfort provides a smooth ride for daily driving. The interior has a premium feel to it while providing a comfortable experience.

When the servicing date finally arrived I am told that the camshafts are messed up and they cant do anything until they hear instructions from the main headquarters. When they received instructions, the instructions were to dismantle and document and nothing else. 10 days later, the car is still sitting in their garage. They dont even offer a loaner car or an actual date of completion. I cant get ahold of anyone in Bogota. When I call MB America, they also cannot help. Have been trying to get in touch with Germany no luck as well. It seems like Mercedes-Benz does not care about customer service and or its clients.

We purchased a 2010 GLK 350 with around 70,000 miles on it. It performed well for several years although the headlights do not light far enough down the road. The driver seat MB-Tex upholstery failed in two places very quickly. $1100 repair. At about 100,000 miles the car would not start. The electronic ignition system had to be replaced for $2000. It had Takata airbags so my wife refused to drive it while we waited a year or so for them to be replaced. While waiting, the passenger door lock stopped working so that the door would not open. $1000 repair. About the time the airbags were replaced during the last year two other messages occurred on the dash. Problem with driver seatbelt connection and problem with the passenger seat sensor. $2400 to repair. We are ready to sell it to avoid more repairs.

I purchased my second Mercedes a 2013 GL450. In the less than year I have owned this, the check engine light has been a three-week issue to fix. Just after I passed the 50K on miles and just over the time of 4 years the check engine light came on again. $150 to diagnose. They required a compression test as the results was a cylinder losing compression. $400 to run compression test. After a few more days I receive a call that the #5 cylinder head is bad and will need replaced. Losing 60% compression, bleed off on idle. The cost for this repair was going to be $15,000.00. My question was what makes this happen to a car with only 53K miles on it? Manufacturer defect or a poor build job? No real answer other than it was going to be expensive due to the parts to replace, labor, machining that would need to be done and about 2 weeks to fix. Shy of an attorney at this point. I said this needs to be taken care of by Mercedes. Is this a common situation? If so then a new class action lawsuit needs to be filed. A few more days and Mercedes said they would split the cost with me. Now we are at $7500 if nothing else is wrong once they get into the engine. Still this should be on them for something this major with a car that has no more miles than this one has. $15K is 1/2 the price of the value of the car almost. Crazy. I have tried to get Mercedes to take care of this one. It should be on them for something this major with a low mileage engine issue. Still fighting trying to get this fixed. Any suggestions? I am open.

I have a 2 year old, C class AMG, still under MB warrantry. When bought from a non franchised MB dealer which had 4,500 on the clock when bought - It now has 7,800 on the clock. In that time the front discs have been changed once at 6,000 miles and are now due for change again. With a different issue. For the first week or two, the brakes were perfect. Then I could feel the brake pedal was pulsing. After a new set of MB discs. Current issue with these, is horrendous vibration on the car all over the car at minimum braking. (Anything above 20mph). Hard braking, the vibration disappears until you start easing off on the brakes. Or, you get below 20mph.3 weeks ago, it was booked into, first MB (Solihull) dealership, on latest discs changed at 5,500 roughly and car was showing 7,000. Lucas over the phone called me and said front discs are warped. Told him not correct (or words to that effect.) Cant be, its had new MB discs. He told me. In which case take it back to the (non) franchise dealer you bought it from and get them to repair it... which I was not happy with it the slightest. So, I talked to the manager of the dealership and he pacified me by saying, its a known issue, when bolting the wheels up to the hub (Basically fed me **, it turns out).So, two weeks ago, took it to an independent garage. After telling them the issues. They said instead of just slapping new discs on. They would check everything. So, they clocked the wheels to the hub. Both fronts running true. Then clocked the front hubs. Drivers side was running out 0.005 though. Passenger side was running bang on. (So, MB Solihull were wrong, and were effectively going to fit new discs to a hub that was out?)At that point Id decided never to use MB Solihull again. Due to Lucas telling me to take the car back to the dealers Id bought it from over the phone and an incorrect fault diagnosis. I think they were more interested in carrying out the software update to the powertrain module, than sorting out the issue I had with the brakes (Probably never even took the wheels off. Just drove the car. Experienced the vibration and fed me, what is in the customers handbook). Lucas said he would e-mail me the report. Needless to say, that never happened. Yesterday the non-franchised dealers I bought it from, had it booked it into 2nd different MB (Coventry) garage. I though to cure the problem. The dealer told MB Coventry, everything wed learned from the independent garage.I phoned MB Coventry at 2.30pm and was eventually told that theyd found the problem. It was rust on the hub and you have a broken bearing. So youve cured the problem? No. Weve not been told to cure it. And started to talk about corrosion on the mating faces. etc. Straight out of your How to get out of sorting a known issue handbook. (I was not polite, as by then Id realised that I would be driving this heap of scrap on the motorway for another week).Got off the phone and phoned up the garage who stripped the car down last week. They said no signs of rust on the hub. Then phoned the dealer and apparently MB had quoted for Two hubs. Even though one hub was running true... not sure what else they quoted for. Just knew they were trying to rip me off. I then went to the Coventry branch to pick the car up and discuss with the manager, the issues I have. He shows me pics of the hub and shows pics of the broken bearing. So, incredulously I say to him, youve stripped a car down and put it back together again with a broken front hub bearing, and are going to hand that car over to me? (Basically called him a liar as I didnt believe the hub he was showing me, was mine (Even if it was. The implications of giving a car back to a customer with a fault such as that, doesnt bear thinking about).He talked to me, out by the car and went all over the wheels looking for any signs of bangs or refurbishment, even suggested the wheels werent the originals... While he was doing this, I noticed that the outside areas of the wheels, were still covered in brake dust. So, voiced my doubts that theyd even taken the wheels off, at all. He persuaded me they had, as the wheel nut areas you could see no brake dust. Which brings me to the question that if MBs wheels/hubs, etc. are so critical on their mating faces that they need to be spotlessly clean. Surely the very first thing MB should do, before removing the wheels, is to remove any brake dust on the outside? So, when bolting up the wheels, Your not compounding the problem?(The car is vibrating all over the place. A bit more brake dust isnt going to make that much difference). The manager also blamed refurbished wheels? Everything basically that was not covered, by the MB manufacturing warranty. I then said, there is no way I would ever, take a car of mine to MB for anything and I wouldnt trust their mechanics to put my great grand daughters Lego together if their latest diagnosis on my car is to be believed. I will never buy an MB again, as they obviously have a serious design defect, that needs addressing, if the brake discs are that fragile. Manager agreed by looking sheepish, if that makes sense.My perception of MB is that they like scaring people into throwing their money away. Total whitewash with respect to my customers complaint. Obviously couldnt give a damn about their (ex) customers. More interested in trying to screw as much money out of gullible customers as they can. Clearly a good business model. But one ex-customer isnt going to make a difference.

We agreed on the price and after waiting for the finance guy to clean up his desk which took a lot of time, we were ready to sign the papers. After two hours being in that dealership the sales manager came and informed us that the general manager wants us to sign a paper and also put $10000 security deposit in order to make sure that we are not going to ship the car to China for two years and then they will return the deposit. They even took a copy of my Dental license. I objected the security deposit, in the beginning after consulting with someone they agreed to the signing a paper and copy of my license. After signing almost 90% of the paperwork the guy got a phone call and then told us they cannot go ahead with the deal. We wasted more than two hours in that dealership and felt very insulted. The General manager think everybody is a criminal otherwise they prove they are not... just not American way.

I would not drive or buy a new Mercedes ever again. There isnt enough time in the day to be in and out of the Mercedes repair shop. We just bought another Lexus and at this time selling our disappointing Gl350. After our 6 Mercedes the GL350 was the worst new suv ever. I have been in and out of the dealership 3 times this month, from oil leaks to the air suspension breaking and not being fixed properly. Mercedes would have to pay me to drive these cars. We just bought a Lexus RX last year, and LX to replace the GL. I figured out how good the Lexus was when I was in my Toyota Tundra towing 8000 lbs with 190k on the odometer, I beat it up all day long and it keeps taking any abuse I give it.This past summer at my farm it was 102 outside. I would leave the Tundra running because I don’t care. 40 min later I come back to a cool Tundra after doing some work on the farm. Getting in the cool Tundra with a duel axel trailer loaded to a max, I hit the road again. The Toyota/Lexus do everything the Mercedes cant! They keep me on the road. Toyota is Lexus and if the RX and LX are half as good as the tundra I will be satisfied and go back again.On the front end you may think you have a great car, but once you are out of the warranty Mercedes has you where they want you. The 80k I spent on my Gl is not a waste if I can help 10 people a year to not make the mistake I made. The Mercedes is a good car if you have more money than common sense and you have time to break down and spend your afternoon in the repair shop. The brake sensor light came on in my Mercedes 350 ML. I stopped driving the car and took it in for service. When quoted a price, they said that not only do I need my brakes changed, but I need the rotors changed as well. I asked then what was the purpose of the brake sensor light if by the time it went on, the brakes were so worn that it affected the rotors. The response was that I should have brought the car in for service earlier. I have had numerous problems with this car. The door for the gas tank fell off. The service agent accused me of breaking it off. Why I would do something like this, I am not sure. The rear seat belts continually get stuck, endangering the safety of my children. The console between the two front seat squeaks. The rear view mirror is loose. All minor problems, but something you do not anticipate in a car of this type.

I recently purchased a 2016 GLC300 and am appalled by the Navigation System. The GPS gives a one mile prompt when giving turn instructions. I was in the left lane of a 4 lane highway and heard the prompt prepare to turn right... no distance stated... no arrow on GPS screen to show mileage before turn. The prompt is ONE MILE from the turn. I was almost in an accident trying to get from the left lane to the right exit. If anyone uses a GPS on your cell phone you know there is an arrow with mileage stated for your next turn. The GPS on the Mercedes does not have this so you have no idea when your next turn is coming. Then the next prompt is 1/4 mile from the turn. Way TOO little notice for safe driving.Its embarrassing to be driving an expensive car with your cell phone in the cup holder utilizing another navigation system because the Mercedes is SO INADEQUATE. If Mercedes wants to market to younger drivers, they have to catch up with technology. Oh... and another thing... my home address isnt in the GPS system. I was told the system is only updated every year to year and a half. Again... a cell phone Navi system is updated to the minute. Get with the 21st century, Mercedes!

Service notification Mercedes 2008 model C300 - I have regular maintenance done on my except for the service B last year since the warranty had expired since a few years and only got the oil changed at the mercedes dealer. I was quite surprised when I asked them to remove the past due service B notification and they refused saying they are not allowed to do that. This is my car and I dont want them to leave this message on my panel. Can they refuse to remove their messages on my car.

My CLS550 only has 60k miles. The check engine light came on and the dealer has informed me that it is due to a faulty balance shaft. This is a known issue and a class action suit was filed. Mercedes settled out of court so they would not have to issue recall notices. I was never notified of the situation so I have been driving the car, not realizing that I was in danger. Now that I am aware of the issue, Mercedes is only willing to cover 37% of the $6,000 it is going to cost for the repair. How can any company think it is ok to use faulty parts, not inform the consumer and then not stand up to their responsibility? I will never own another Mercedes and I encourage everyone to beware of doing business with such a company.

I bought a new 2012 CLK 350 MB from Myrtle Beach Automotive. Air conditioner did not work (came from factory not working). After 1 week in service center, I received the car back. I met with GM **, Service Manager **, and Service and Parts Operations Manager ** out of the corporate office in Jacksonville, Florida about receiving another new car, extending my warranty, or refunding my money. ** went on to tell me he had the power to do whatever he deemed necessary to keep me the customer happy and the dealership in which he also represented. Long story short, he did nothing but lose a customer for life. And now for peace of mind for me and wife, we are probably going to be spending another 3 to 4 grand on an extended warranty because we are concerned that we have purchased a lemon. I sure wish I would have read all the reviews before purchasing a MB.

2008 MB e350 sedan with gas, fuel pump failed and the replacement for a California high efficiency emissions car has a metal tank that is not repairable. The pump is built in and cannot be replaced w/o replacement of the entire tank costing $2800 for parts only. There is a warranty for all gas e350 due to leakage of gas but the metal tank is excluded and I have no recourse to repair or replace except thru m/b, no aftermarket parts or anything. Has anyone have success with this unique problem in repair or replacement?

I have a 2007 ML 350 which I had purchased new. The car now has 117,000 miles on the odometer. For the past seven years it has been a great vehicle and the only problem I had was with a window lift on the passenger side. There were always little things like light bulbs, but nothing that was mechanical and needed fixing until this past week.The check engine light came on and when I brought the car in it was diagnosed to be a relay for the fuel injection system. A reasonable $211 fix. The next day the light came on again. Brought the car in again and it was diagnosed that there was a blockage in the air pump system for the admissions. I was quoted a $5,600 repair job. They have to tear the engine down to find the blockage.I was told by my service advisor that this shows up at about 115-120,000 miles. It is caused by carbon build-up. I maintain my car as per factory specs so it is not a lack of maintenance that caused this. In my estimation there may be a design flaw in the emissions system. Since the car is out of warranty the dealer cannot do anything for me to correct this. When I contacted Mercedes they said that because of the age of the car and the mileage they cannot or wont do anything for me. They wont even split the bill with me. However, they would give a $3,000 incentive to buy a new car. In the the meantime, my car has been rendered worthless. I cannot trade the car nor sell it with the check engine light lit up. I am at a loss on where to go from here. Any ideas?

I have two keys for my 2006 350. I have replaced the batteries over the years no problem with that at all. Recently, I went to replace the battery in set of keys but that didnt work for all the functions. I could lock my car but not open it... strange huh. So I went to my alternate set of keys, used them for a while and then that set didnt work either... weird. I could open my car doors but couldnt lock them. So I have been using 2 sets of keys to run my car. Doesnt make sense to me.So I contacted my Mercedes Dealership and explained the issue. They said, No problem. Come in and we will order you 2 new sets of keys. Sounds good so far... but not too fast. Each set would be $300. Mercedes wants me to pay $600 to replace Faulty keys. I didnt lose them... I just used them since I have had the car. Now they dont work properly. So I have to pay Mercedes $600 so I can operate my car and replace faulty keys. I have never heard that before. I could understand if I lost keys... but I didnt... they just stopped working correctly. So for being a good customer (repeat customer) I am now saddled with a $600 charge to replace faulty equipment. If I do that... which I must... there is no guaranty the new keys will last either. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of... COME ON MAN!! Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I cannot express in words my disappointment and disgust in my recent experience with Mercedes-Benz. I will never own another model. It is certainly not what I would expect from a luxury car or a first-class dealership. I researched for several weeks before choosing to purchase and finally deciding on the GLA. The fact that it was a Mercedes made the decision easier for me as I knew it would be a car that would be flawless and have unmatched resale value. I purchase a new 2016 GLA 250 on July 18, 2016. After driving my brand new GLA for only 2 weeks, I took it in for an unusual wind noise coming from the drivers side window. I trusted that because the car was sold to me with an obvious factory default, the dealership would make every effort to remedy this problem and ensure customer satisfaction. I was heartbroken to be told that it could not, and would not, because the noise was due to the way the car was factory-made and attempting to do any repairs would void the extended warranty that I had purchased. To date, no one from the dealership or Mercedes-Benz has contacted me or made an attempt to remedy this situation. Unfortunately, because of this experience, this will be the first and last Mercedes-Benz I will ever own. The unfortunate thing for Mercedes-Benz of Beaumont, whether they realize it or not, is that my husband is a bank president in a small town about 25 miles west of Beaumont, that has three locations, and I work in a thriving school district in a town 30 miles east of Houston. Between the two of us, we know a great deal of people. We know first-hand, about customer service and how vital it is to a business, large or small. We intend to tell everyone we know of our horrendous experience with that dealership. To add insult to injury, I have since received an email indicating that I have received new inquiries on my credit, which may lower my credit score. It did indeed change my credit score by significantly dropping it several points. The report details show they are all due to inquiries from Mercedes Benz. I have reviewed the GLA on several websites unfavorably and plan to file a report with the Better Business Bureau regarding the horrendous customer service at Mercedes-Benz of Beaumont. For a company known for first class customer service and satisfaction, you should be embarrassed to have colleagues such as those at MB-Beaumont in your employ. I have since read countless reports of the same wind noise from other owners on various websites. DO NOT PURCHASE A GLA!!! As for me, I will NEVER drive another Mercedes. There are plenty of other luxury models to choose from.

Mercedes UK claimed the parts were consumables and are therefore not covered under the warranty even though the car only had done 20k miles. The dealership finally replaced the fronts after 5 months of complaining but has refused to replace the rear. I also had issues over the alleged mileage on the car and the claimed servicing on the vehicle. Mercedes UK behaves like a back street dealer and refused to help. Jeremy ** claimed that Mercedes had improved their after sales, I strongly disagree.

The car would not even start after they were done. Mercedes customer retention negotiated a buyback but on the day of the transaction they changed the terms. I am still paying for a car today that doesnt run.

A recall on my CLK500, 2006 for a bonding issue sliding roof. About a year ago, while driving east bound on Highway 90 in Chicago IL, My sliding roof bonding gave way. As I was driving the sun/moon roof flew off. Thankfully no other cars were following closely and no one got hurt. After I got home, I ordered the part and got the car fixed. Just about now, I received a message from the dealer on a open recall for the same issue. Since I had already got the vehicle fixed I was hoping I would be reimbursed for the cost of parts and labor. As per the dealership this is an issue that needs to be addressed by Mercedes support center, while The Mercedes support center suggested the opposite. Been going in circles. I have had nothing but issues with this car and would never suggest to waste your money with Mercedes. A very unhappy and unsatisfied customer.

It came down with a transmission breakdown last week, after three years and just 86,000 miles. I had the car towed to the Euromotors (Germantown, Maryland). I was told that I was to pay about $10,000 in repairs. I became a Mercedes Benz customer because of your craftsmanship and reputation. I never expected a power train issue so early in the life of such a great car. I love the car; I enjoy driving the car, and I expected to remain a loyal customer for a longtime. In fact, I was planning to trade my C350 for the new E350 Coupe next year. The dealership is not willing to do a courtesy repair on my car because my regular services had not been completed by them. I would like the Mercedes corporate office to intercede on my behalf, but when I contacted them (in not so many words), they told me that I was SOL (short on luck), and I was at the mercy of the dealer. I guess I made a big a mistake when I left BMW to become a Mercedes owner.

I went to the dealership and got a diagnostic test. They insisted that I replace the whole unit at $3500. I went to a small music shop and they changed the fuse. The sound works great now.

Have been trying to resolve issue with Mercedes of Arlington and corporate for the past 1 1/2 years. If I had heard when 1st looking for car certainly would not have purchased. On Saturday July 14th, 2017, after about 1-2 miles of driving my 2017 MB E300 started jerking and the check engine light came on when I drove toward the first lane for a left turn on a busy highway intersection. I also found the gear was changed to neutral on the panel. I tried to change the gear to drive while waiting for the traffic light but I couldn’t. I changed the gear to park and stopped the engine to restart the car but couldn’t restart at all. I pressed the MB roadside assistance (MRA) button. They said a tow truck would be there within 20 mins. In the meantime someone helped push the car to move it to the side but the gear didn’t stay on neutral. It kept going back to park. Then it didn’t go to neutral anymore. I got stuck in the middle of the road at the intersection. There was nothing else I could do but patiently waited for towing with my little kid inside the car with an emergency light on and all 4 windows open.The car was heated up with the outside temp of over 90F. My kid was getting exhausted and drowsy due to a high temp of 110F inside the car. I pressed the assistance button again after waiting almost 40 mins and explained about an urgent situation. They said they were still searching for a provider and would text me an ETA of a tow truck once they located it. Couldn’t believe what they said. My kid was almost passing out from the heatstroke. I started looking for other ways to tow my car when I finally got a text from the MRA saying a truck would be there in 50 MINS. OMG! Couldn’t believe what they said! Then a lady stopped her car next to me. She gave us water, let me move my kid into her car with cool air, called her AAA, and let me use the service under her authority. AAA showed up in 15 mins and towed my car to the nearest MB dealership. The service department was already closed because it was Saturday. I left a car key and my contact number. I was more disappointed with a lousy MRA than the car breakdown. What’s the purpose of the button? Why did they install the useless button in the car? If it wasn’t there I wouldn’t press it and waste almost 1 1/2 hrs on the street! What a terrifying and life threatening situation I had! My kid could have died in the car!I got a text from the service department in 2 days. They found a spark plug failed and damaged one of the engine cylinders. The engine now needs to be replaced and no ETA on the replacement. Wow! For less than 2 year old Mercedes-Benz with 17000 miles on? What kind of junk has Mercedes-Benz sold? And more shocked about a very poor customer service to a loyal customer with 10 years old relationship!

I own a 1999 Mercedes-Benz ML320 truck.On 13 Aug 2011, a 20-feet wooden telephone pole was lying on a badly-lit street in the middle of the night. No one knows how it got there. Driving 45 miles per hour, (speed limit is 45 mph) I hit it with the front of my car. Then the pole went under my bumper resulting into a broken steering column and a bent car frame. My air bags, however, did not deploy. When I asked Mercedes why the bags did not open, they said that it only opens when hit in certain spots. In the end, my car was totaled by the insurance company.

I contacted Mercedes Liverpool and they said that I need to go to the nearest Mercedes and fix it and they will cover all costs. I paid £1200 to change brake pads and disks and rear alloy wheel. Mercedes-Benz of Liverpool did not pay me anything, they keep saying my different stories. They said that they already sent money into my account, then they said that they issued check 2 weeks ago, then they said they need to get an approval from head office and so on. When I contacted Mercedes Customer Service, they replied to me saying that Mercedes-Benz of Liverpool had already paid me by the check so I had to go back to Liverpool to confirm that but they said: No we are still getting an approval from head office. Absolutely useless service!!! Worst service ever.

I leased a Mercedes ML350 in 2012. We loved it, so we purchased the 2012 (husband drives it) and ordered a 2014 ML for me. From day one we have had so many electrical weird glitches on the 2014. It has an automatic lift gate that worked when it felt like it for almost two years. I took the car into the dealership constantly and of course they said all was fine and they could not find the problem. Particularly helpful is for the lift gate to not go up when you have your arms full of groceries. Finally, one day (2 years later), the lift gate got stuck halfway open. Went to the dealership and this time they said that the motor was defective. Really??? The lift gate door still doesnt always release and open but at least it works 90% of the time. The automatic unlock on the 4 doors also worked intermittently since the day I picked the car up. I brought the car in countless times for all these issues.Finally they did something to the doors and it is better now. I would say it works 80 to 85% of the time. And, I am pretty excited about that! I still have to dig my keys out of my purse which again is generally when I have packages in my arms or late at night in a parking lot. As I write this I realize that these are first world problems but when you pay upwards of $65,000 for a car, you expect the quality to be there and your features that you have excessively paid for, to work. My favorite thing about the car is... it has a forward collision warning system that senses a car in front of you has slowed down or stopped and if you do not slow down it gives a very loud beep, beep, and a flashing warning on the instrument panel. The first time this engaged was on a country road where I was the only person on the road going about 50 MPH. No one in front of me for miles and then the load beep, beep and flashing red triangle appeared. It scared me to death!Mostly it engages when no one is around. Randomly, loudly and making me jump out of my seat. One time that feature actually engaged when it was appropriate. Today I was driving home and the traffic came to a complete stop and I was slow to notice it. But of course, neither did my car. I slammed on my brakes and all was well. I have taken the car in to see if they could fix this problem and of course they NEVER find the problem. I have cup cooling and heating (yes, first world problems) but that doesnt work either because the fuse that runs that and the cigarette lighter blow constantly whether I use the items or not. Well, I dont smoke but it would be nice to use my phone charger. In the two and 1/2 years I have owned the car I managed to coordinate once having a hot beverage that I wanted to stay hot whilst driving and the heating cup holder actually working.Finally at the dealership they gave me a bag of fuses so I could change them myself. NICE!!! How about we fix the the problem!!! My complaints have fallen on deaf ears. There is a lot of talk at the dealership about taking care of the problems but they never do. I am now convinced that when I service my car they take it back to the bay and park it and dont really try to do anything to it. Mostly I am so extremely disappointed in the Mercedes product. Shortly after we purchased our leased 2 year old 2012 ML with 38,000 miles on it, the drivers seat MB-Tex wore out and started tearing. We had a ten year old Mercedes with the MB TEX that had over 120000 miles on it and the interior was pristine!We had another ML AMG that had 168000 on it and that leather interior was perfect. I think the product has seriously deteriorated. I dont think my leather in my 2014 will make it to lease end date. The service department at our local MB dealership is deplorable. Our family has owned 5 Mercedes but this is my very last one. I fear that our 2012 wont make the 50000 mile mark. I CANT WAIT TO GET RID OF THIS CAR! I strongly suggest you buy ANY brand but MB.

My 2000 S-500 has been a real piece of ** and now the trade in value is less than a cheap Nissan. I purchased this piece of junk in 2003 with 37,000 miles and have had over $40,000 worth of factory repairs under the original MB warranty and with the extended warranty. And yet, still this hunk of junk continues to break down. Now that this overpriced status symbol is almost worthless. I have learned my lesson. Mercedes Benz and all of your snooty dealers can eat my shorts. I will never purchase any more of these quality cars again. Keep your overpriced garbage!!!

After my car had A3 service at the Lonestar Mercedes-Benz dealership in Calgary, Canada on June 21, 2016, the car started an oil leak. The car was diagnosed of a problem with the dipstick seal on July 27. However, it wasnt the real problem after the second check up was done in August 4. The dealer told me that it was the oil cooler seal which is a completely different thing. The problem wasnt really solved since I found the car still had an oil leak the next day and had to send it back to the dealer again.The worst thing was when I picked up the car on August 10, 2016. There was a big crack found on the windshield which was not on the car when I dropped it off at the dealership. Jeff, a customer service mgr, immediately denied and said that it wasnt their responsibility without even investigating the problem thoroughly. I was told that they can only replace the windshield at my own cost, and has formed no room for negotiation. Followed by a conversation with Doug, an operation mgr, who insisted that they wouldnt take responsibility, but would like to share the cost. After a couple of hours of discussion, the thing turned out to a disagreement of what they offered as I strongly think my car was under the dealers roof when it was being repaired. The dealers must be responsible for the problem they caused. How come I have to pay the damage that I didnt do anything about! The issues just keep coming with this dealer.These guys hang up phones, and even impolitely terminated the conversation and left me alone in the office. I felt bullied when they said, We will only give you this offer whether you accept it or not, the offer is firm and unchanged. I dont need any offer. What I need is the full compensation for the damage occurred at the dealer shop!

I have had two cars now of Mercedes in 2 and a half years. The first one was one of the red ones that they have known about for 4 years and still carried on spraying with this faulty paint. I had not much success with the warranty procedure to the degree that they only wanted to respray the panels affected, this happen to be everywhere apart from one side I argued for a full respray as the car was showing signs of getting worse by the week. I got so fed up that believe it or not I traded it in and got another one. This one was involved in a accident that involved the bonnet needing slight fill and respray. I was told it at to go to a Mercedes approved spray shop so of it went to Looker of Maidstone Kent where the first week it was sent back to me on a transporter. I did not let it be unloaded as it had scratches and chips in the new paint work. Back it went for another week. I was called and told it was ready for collection and when I got there the bonnet was not put on the car straight and the paint work still not good. They told me they had resprayed the whole bonnet but this was a lie as when I spoke to the guy that sprayed it, he said he only went across 3/4 of the way, they also told us they had replaced parts, they hadnt. They also managed to damage one of my alloy wheels in transport which was refurbished. I still think I should have got a new wheel as there was nothing wrong with it when it went in. After week three I got it back. I am still not happy with it as when washing it I have a circular mark on the bonnet. I sent all my correspondence to Mercedes Benz and after 5 days they have told me they are not prepared to compensate me other than the free labor only offered on my next service. They cant understand why I am unhappy and have told me that I have to go to the ombudsman. This is unreal from a so called premium branded company. Anyone that can help me get this out on the internet as they seem to think they are untouchable by the man on the street. My main bit of advice dont buy a Mercedes if you are expecting a good customer service and after care. Poor poor poor.

I own an ML 500 2008 model. At no more than 10000 km, the front suspension collapsed. 30000 km later, the same problem occurred. Mercedes Benz refused to repair and I had to pay over R30000 for replacing it. At 150000 km the hydraulic pump collapsed. I had to pay R9000 for a replacement. One month later, it collapsed again!! They replaced it on guarantee. One month after, same problem with the pump happened again. They replaced it and said that if it happens again, it is my problem and they will not look at it again!! Now the car has 170000 km and it does not change gears. I have to stop the car in the middle of the road to switch the engine off to reset the computer and start it again. It happened a couple of times during the day. The central locking is not working either. The suspension is making a terrible noise when I go over bumps. This is the ** car I ever had!! My wife drives a BMW, no problems at all.I wrote to Mercedes customer care services a few months ago about the problems and Im still waiting for an answer. The car is always serviced at Bedfordview dealer. What a ** dealership? Its always my mistake for the failures!! Soon i will take the car outside of BMW head office and set it on fire after I invite all the car magazines and the management of Mercedes to see what I do to rubbish cars like this. I have been into the dealership to have it repaired and still not corrected (currently at dealership). Attempts to repair were on 6-1-11, 11-16-11, 12-7-11, 1-10-12, 2-13-12 and 3-12-12 (currently there). Lemon law letter was sent on 2-21-12. No response to that at all. I’m very angry and just want out of this lease once and for all.

40,840 Mile service on 2012 E-350. We had our 7 year (70,000 Mi.) service but only 40,840 miles on vehicle completed at Mercedes of Hilton Head which cost $785.46. All prior services, from our purchase in 2012 with 12,000 miles, completed at Mercedes of Hilton Head. They discounted this to $657.37 after I raised heck for billing me $6 for washer fluid I had just filled. The year before the annual service was $902.90. Then I got the breakdown on additional recommendations as follows 1) Replace Transmission mount found collapsed $254.09, 2) Repack and adjust front wheel bearings $518.97, 3) Reseal Left Front Cylinder Head Cover $278.27, 4) Reseal Both Left Side Cam Magnets $291.28, 5) Reseal Right Front Cylinder Head Cover $293.18, 6) Reseal Both Cam Magnets on Right Cylinder Head $395.58 For a total of $2031.37.The last year we put on 4,000 miles with no mention of any of these issues in prior years. While I understand somewhat (again usually 100,000 miles) the repacking needs, the other two items were completely a failure of the vehicle to perform properly and unusual failure (I would hope) of things that I have had cars with over 150,000 miles without issues. I called Corporate, after the dealer gave no assistance, as I thought those repairs should be covered with such low mileage and care given to the car throughout its life. They offered $600 off if all service was completed at the dealership. Ive had a Buick that was 2 years out of warranty with 42,000 miles engine replacement all the way to the torque converter because of the engine failure and cost me $100.00. I always thought Mercedes was a quality vehicle, and I was sadly mistaken. Do NOT Buy Mercedes.

I called a local import repair shop and had it towed to them.The owner of the shop has had the car for 2 months, trying to get parts from Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes keeps saying the repair parts are back-ordered and that Mercedes dealerships get them first. I spoke to a Mercedes service manager in California, who informed me that this transmission valve body and intake manifolds are widespread problems with their cars. I then called MB of North America, and they denied there was a widespread problem and that there is no recall. They told me that the independent import repair owner can order these parts. The owner of the repair shop has called every dealership in the tri-state area and was being told he cant order the parts needed to repair my little red car that I have painstakingly paid for over the last 5 years.I had car towed again to MB Keenan Motors, and they said they have to do a diagnostic test. I told them I already did that and would have results sent to them. No, they said, cant accept tests from different dealership. I have been told that the transmission is a widespread problem, and yet, MB will not recall. I would like to research a class-action suit.

This can defect can result in fire. As of today, July 13, 2017, Mercedes told me it has no idea when the parts will be available to correct the problem. The recall affects a number of Mercedes models manufactured between 2015-2017. Mercedes has a particularly torturous telephone system. When I finally spoke to a customer service representative it was clear that he could not have cared less. Meanwhile, I have a car that is greatly diminished in value in my opinion. We have purchased approximately 10 Mercedes in the last 15 years, including 2 within the last 2 years. We will not be purchasing any more. I called to file a complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. I thought they might be able to help or have additional information. The woman barely spoke English and kept telling me my VIN number was not in their system. She finally put me on hold for about 5 minutes and amazing she found the VIN. She was equally incompetent at providing any information or in telling me what her agency would do. I asked if someone would call or email me. No way - government workers are not there to serve you apparently. Close down this worthless agency.

Our vehicle was past their factory warranty, therefore we had to pay $504 due to the this problem. Mercedes Headquarters in New Jersey refused all or any compensation. Safety issues do not end because the factory warranty expired. Maybe they should experience the stress and helpless feeling of driving 65 miles an hour and have the engine shut off!

Purchased my 2014 C300 a week ago. Has 10,000 miles. Traded in my 2011 C300 with 75k miles. Had 2 other previous Mercedes also, 2002, 2009. All had approx 75k miles when traded and NEVER an issue with previous 3 cars. 2014 has the ECO start/stop feature which if you research is not a FEATURE but a problem. Roadside Assistance tech who came out yesterday to try to assist me was floored when he could not even jump start it as he believed the starter was gone. He called Tow company, who also could not jump and gave same opinion, crazy that the starter could be gone! The ECO start/stop is believed to be the cause and if you read other problems it does a number on the wear of a battery and starter due to the excessive starting and stopping compared to vehicles without this!!! VERY IRATE AND DISAPPOINTED out of my new car for 2 days and everyone is sorry for my inconvenience.

The car is super in handling, comfort, braking, quietness.... like nothing I have owned before. However, I have just been realizing from the forums and from approaching MB dealers that it can be a harrowing experience for the whole family when trying to get an issue fixed fairly. Is it possible for you to share with us, other caring and concerned MB owners, your ways of best practicing due diligence in maintaining our vehicles and avoiding costly mistakes as well? I have recently replaced both batteries in my car, based on forum advice. I now get a white symbol of a wagon with an upward pointing arrow inside the center of the wagon symbol, and a message that simply says Visit Workshop. Someone mentioned that it has to do with the shocks/suspension, and sent me a link to the Arnott site, which is a fabulous find. Better quality, longer lasting shocks than original MB. I, and I dare say surely other MB owners too, would love to hear from you on the many issues that can crop up in our cars, and the best ways to prevent, prepare and cope with them safely and economically.Strangely, I used to think that MB cars last a lifetime, if well-maintained correctly. Perhaps it still is true, except that it takes a celebritys budget today. Perhaps not, as the cars have all functions controlled via microprocessors, which has historically not been a German forte. I bought a brand new 2014 S-class, spending a grand total of $134,000. This is my third Mercedes Benz product. I gave MB another chance after learning they revamped their quality control and assurance programs. The past two cars had its share of very expensive problems, both electronic and mechanical. I have MB another chance on a S-class. Beautiful inside and out, great performance, and loaded with mind blowing tech. Its the biggest purchasing mistake I have made in my life.The first 3K miles resulted in speed sensor failure. At 3.5K miles, another speed sensor failure. At 5K transmission warning light. Dealer could not remedy until they consulted with MB. Warning light reappeared after three days. Decoded and reset fixed it. Now comes strange vibrations during shifts that can be felt in the accelerator when pushed. Dealer claims simple adjustment needed. Problem not solved to date. At 7K instrument/video cluster vibration during highway speeds. Dealer cannot duplicate because they cannot drive it above 65mph. The vibration seemed to remedy itself but I do not believe its resolved. I also complained about the significant amount of brake dust from the front right wheel/brake. Dealer replaced brake pads. At 10K the transmission warning light reappeared. When pressed hard, the transmission would jerk/jump/shoot like a true piece of junk manual transmission. At this point, I made it a mission to return the junk to the dealer. I didnt care how much I would lose, I just wanted them to take it back. The lemon law may have applied but I dont have time to jerk around with MB after three of their cars. I drive quite a bit between hospitals for work and my time is valuable. The amount of time I spent going back and forth to the dealer was nothing short of a nightmare. MB dealer will give you every excuse possible always stating that my S-class is one of a kind. Talking with other MB owners waiting at the service department, Ive learned that most of them were there because of a malfunction, not routine maintenance and/or oil changes like at Lexus. I do not have the car anymore and I have returned to living a normal life in a wonderful Lexus LS F. I have close to 12K with absolutely ZERO issues. ZERO! Goodbye Mercedes Benz. Strike three...youre out!

In July of 2011, I purchased a certified pre-owned Mercedes E350 with about 10,000 miles on it. Now, less than 3 months of owning this car, the air conditioning smells awful when I turn it on, I mean it literally smells like feces or sewage. I stopped by the Mercedes dealer today (8-October-2011) where I purchased it from only to be told that Mercedes is not warranting this problem. I was told he had 4 customers just this week reporting the exact same thing. It would be my responsibility to pay for what would be the amount of a temporary fix; replacing the cabin air-filter and spraying some Lysol-type disinfectant in the coil condensate box, costing around $180 to $200. This same scenario would need to be repeated at least yearly or more often. The service adviser himself even stated he did not agree with Mercedes not warranting this problem, and even stating that Mercedes does not believe it to be a problem. Well try driving my car with the A/C on with the smell that immediately begins to fill the car. It nearly makes you want to vomit so bad. My A/C is virtually unusable because of it. I have owned Mercedes cars since 2008 and not once have I had an issue, until now. And this is making me seriously contemplate selling the car (at a substantial loss because who wants to buy a car that smells like sewage) and buying something else. I had considered myself to be a lifelong Mercedes owner/driver, but if they refuse to stand by their product, then why should I remain loyal to them? It is an engineering and design defect that needs to be retrofitted and corrected. Come on Mercedes, do something about this, or I wont be the only Mercedes customer that youll lose to another manufacturer.

Ive had my Mercedes S550 since 4/14 and I brought it into service 3 weeks ago to check the vibration and pulling to right. Service Tech. informs me its supposed to pull to right some and tire looked fine, dont need new tires. I just returned for my B service and Service calls to tell me I need 2 new front tires. Only $980 for 2 tires! I am furious. Needless to say I wont be replacing with Continental MOEs because of all the bad news out there about them and I wont be purchasing from Mercedes Benz! Last winter when they were having some financial problems, she was late with a payment. From that point on every month that she is one minute late with her payment, although still in the 15 day grace period, we get harassment calls. They start at 8:00 in the morning and again at dinner time. This month, she made a payment on the 7th and they are still calling every day, twice a day to both of us and it is the 28th. What the hell is the matter with you people? Financial Services lost a payment in May and it took them four months to find it. In the meantime, they are calling every day for that May payment that they already had. I have never seen such Mafia techniques in any company in all my 69 years not to mention a poorly run financial department that cannot keep track of the payments that are made and lose some of them and then start harassing customers for their own mistakes. I would never buy a Mercedes Benz product just based on your financial services harassment tactics. There is no reason for this kind of treatment. I intend to contact every consumer complaint organization I can find and send them a copy of this letter online, offline, by mail, and any other way possible.

Although I thought my experience was unique, today (June 15, 2015) when I went to get my car oil changed it appears I wasnt the only one with this issue. Two other customers at the Mercedes service desk had exactly the same issues. Imagine my surprise! At $275 a tire all of us were pretty twisted that this issue is going on and Mercedes has NOT issued a recall on this brand tire! Can someone help stop this unsafe issue? Does someone have to get hurt first? How many more people are in the same boat? Can someone canvas the service logs at Mercedes and see how bad this issue really is? Lastly based on the young attendant behind the desk she said, weve had tons of people with flat tires. She also stated, dont worry we have truckloads of tires in inventory. How scary! What would you assume? Someone please advise, how do we proceed?

After many conversation with the Lawrenceville Dealership in NJ where we were told that indeed the car is too heavy for the tires. No solutions was offered other than for me to pay more money to have the tires changed. Mercedes is aware they are selling a defective product that can potentially be life threatening and they are doing nothing about it. I then e-mailed the corporate offices and was contacted by an agent who tried to work a resolution where we would still pay over 2000 and had to give those tires we paid a premium for, back to them (SCAM)... As a matter of principle and the fact that I can get better tires without them or their HELP... we refused the Great deal!! Nevertheless STAY AWAY... Looks like they dont care if you are stranded in the middle of no-where or if you die as the tires fall apart while you drive or like in my case while the car is parked in the garage!! When I purchased a brand new Mercedes Sprinter van I was immediately faced with continuous faults, breakdowns and issues with the engine and the mechanical working of the vehicle. After months of Cricks mechanics working on my vehicle and replacing parts constantly due to many different mechanical issues, Mercedes (Melbourne) representatives decided to inspect my vehicle whilst another harmonic balancer was being installed (this was the 5th one replaced!). This vehicle directly impacted on the success of my business and cause massive grief for me during this period as I purchased the vehicle believing what I was told by the sales staff ie; a very reliable vehicle for my mobile business.My experience during this time was that I was advised that my van would be repaired ‘as good as new’ by close of business that day (2012). I was then contacted approximately 5 minutes before close of business that it was not ready and they needed to order another harmonic balancer. This was the fifth one replaced and would be another 4 days?! This van had been towed 10 times during the first 8,000 kms. I have so many stories about my customers having to push this van out of their premises. I was continually forced to wait for tow trucks, wasting hours/days of business time. This van spent more time in Cricks workshop than on the road. This van had so many issues and gave me so much hell, as well as impacting on me, my health, my family and most of all my business. My business is a mobile business and I was definitely not mobile due to this van.One particular incident that I will never forget, was when the van just stopped, ‘turned off’ in the middle of the D’Aguilar Highway and a truck almost hit me at highway speed, missing me by cm‘s - an extremely frightening event! When I finally was able to negotiate a new agreement for the lemon that I bought, I thought this was the beginning of a new start for me - not knowing my nightmare had just begun all over again. I thought my new van was perfect, faultless and not thinking that Garry Cricks would let me down again.I believe that they have not serviced my vehicle correctly, not repaired faults, and treated me extremely poorly and deliberately told me false information. MB Sprinter Van is the worst vehicle I have ever bought! Had it 5 months and has been towed 10 times in first 8000km. And this was my fifth harmonic balancer to be replaced. I am on my 2nd Lemon. Most unreliable van ever! - we are forced to make repayments on a vehicle that sits in the workshop being repaired constantly. Not worth the extra money and certainly not the quality that the name live up. This is unacceptable and a result of the deliberate engineering of products so they only last for the warranty period. I was informed by the sales guy, and it is also mentioned on Mercedes Egypt website, that this package includes GPS navigation system. This was the main reason for me to order this package. On a recent road trip the check engine light lit up on my 2010 GLK 350. When I took the vehicle local dealer where they performed a quick test to reveal what they termed as a camshaft stretched timing chain. I had heard previously that Mercedes had been having this 350 engine problem with several models and years. I went online to discover that in fact that there have been numerous such problems with the 350 engine. My local dealer wants $2,600.00 to pull the engine and repair. Yes, the vehicle is out of warranty, but it seems to me that Mercedes knew well before the 2010 models were produced that they were having complaints about the 350 camshaft adjuster problem.

I got a new C200 around 2010 and been driving for 6 years now. This model is good till the use of 130,000 Km. After that start having minor fault but very critical for safety. The car stopped at junctions or traffic lights whenever it went into idle mode. After checking with some local service they advise to change Air Mass sensor and it was almost fixed!! So far I am very satisfied with this brand.

Thanks to diminishing quality and outrageous dealer charges, depreciation on these cars is huge. If you avoid the hand grenades like air suspension, brake issues (2003-2006), exploding early 350 motors, and are prepared to never go near a dealer, you get an outstanding low mileage used car. I have a 1999 E320, purchased in 2009 with 45K miles, well under $10k. I now have 82k on it, and apart from a little A/C work, it has been trouble free and a pleasure to drive. Yes, oil changes are expensive at about $100, but are only required every 12k miles. I also have a 2007 CLK350 Cabrio, purchased last year with only 24k miles for under $20K. I have put about 10K miles on it so far, and it is as reliable and pleasant as the E320.

Mercerdes 2012 GL450 - I had to replace the Continental Tires with less than 24,000. I found out the MFG doesnt even have a tread warranty for these tires. These are the cheapest tires available for this vehicle. Mercedes put my family in danger with these garbage tires and I will never purchases another Mercedes again. I have never in 31 years of driving have I had to replace tires that were totally shot with 24,000 miles on them. The dealership and corp said this is normal tread life!!!! We have always had Lexus in the past and Mercedes is not even close to the quality. Dont buy a Mercedes with these junk tires on them if you like your family.

The car computer show Service B. I was asked to pay $695 plus tax. Within that service, there are several points checked, oil + filter and an air filter inside. If there are problems, I have to pay for extra parts and labor. The car is on warranty! I have never heard about any car on warranty to pay extra, until the car was damaged in an accident. The installed GPS within the Navigation System, has extremely old map data and to update, I was asked to pay $ 395+ tax. The GPS has very serious errors. 1. While driving on last left lane Hwy 427 North, close to 409, I was advised to turn left! 2. While driving already on Lakeshore Blvd, East of Browns Line, was asked to turn left to get to Lakeshore! I do believe, that brand new car has to have the newest, actual map data and while the errors are serious, the update should be free of charge, like with any mechanical parts on warranty. The GPS is not even close to GARMIN, where the functions are very logical and easy to use and mine model under $200 had lifetime update plus touch screen.

I bought a brand new, 2012 SLK350 on September 8, 2012. Within two days, a seat belt malfunction indicator appeared on the dashboard. I took it to the dealer on September 13 and was informed that the seat belt needed to be replaced, and parts needed to ordered/delivered from Germany. After multiple stories and repeated calls to the dealership about how long it would take, I finally got my car back on October 4th, almost one month of not being able to drive a brand new car that I had purchased for the proverbial $64,000. I called Mercedes Benz directly a few times and did not get any answer, other than an apology and that they would look into it. I am appalled by the quality, support, and service levels of Mercedes Benz.

My 2008 GL 450 CPO has been in the shop for more than 20 times in the last 2 years that I have owned it. The last time, it was in for 36 days waiting for a compressor for the suspension. MB USA said, Oh sorry, we cant do anything for you. I asked them to extend my warranty, but they said no. I just want to tell as many people as I can that MB doesnt stand behind their product. My advice is to buy from another auto maker.

First 9 were Continental and the last 6 were Michelin. You cannot rotate the tires and I was not told this. There should be a recall on this tire and rim setup if there is not one. After I visited the car dealer to trade in my car to buy another, I chose a 2006 R 350 Mercedes Benz. After I test drive it I decided to go ahead and buy it, did the paper works, I was inform that I couldnt drive the car home that night, the report was they having a problem starting the vehicle, something to do with the battery. I try to resolve it but it kept doing the same thing, I think that when they realized it was not the battery but something more internal. Long story short, after I receive the car couple day after it was deliver, it would not start. Took it back to Spanos, they looked at it and said they didnt find anything wrong with the it. Thought maybe its just a one time thing, but after about a couple of days, the car kept doing the same thing until about three month of having the car, it stop working completely.Took it to my mechanic and thats when I found out that they actually rig up the gas pump with industrial glue, they reroute a wire in the fuse box because they didnt want to spend money to fix it before they put on their lot for sale. I actually took it to the Mercedes Benz shop and they were baffled that someone could rig up a repair and sell it to unsuspecting customer. Now Im stuck with a car I cant drive for months, it still in the shop and that to and injury they actually sold me the car way over Kelley Blue Book value, stole my cadillac for little or nothing, now Im stuck with a car with a bad repair. My only thing is I would like Spanos to make sure they repair these car properly before they put it for sale. They do have a bad reputation for doing stuff like that and I also like for them to fix my car or pay for the repairs they should have done before it was sold to me.

I live in NH, purchased 2017 GLC 300 in the Spring and was told I would need winter tires (which I always need on my SUVs). Salesperson did not tell me I wouldnt be able to get snow tires for this car. The tires are run flats and the size is a rare run fast snow tire size. MB USA told me I could purchase regular snow tires, but then I would have to purchase a new wheel and tire for a spare at the cost of over $700 just for the spare! Even if I wanted to buy a spare, the car is designed for run flat tires only and there is no place to store the tire and no jack, etc. I told MB that I refuse to buy 5 regular snow tires, and lug the smelly spare around in the back of my car. Additionally, it would take up all the space that I use for luggage, groceries, etc. I am insisting on returning the car. I spent a lot of time considering a new SUV, and would have immediately taken the GLC 300 off the list if I had been informed of this situation. So, here I am in NH, living on a steep dirt road without snow tires.

E320 Brake failure - Driving on US1, rush hour, normal speed, suddenly the whole dashboard turned red and says brake defective, stop vehicle. Dont have time to react. Crashed into 2 other cars after few seconds. Horrible experience. Dont know what to do from here. Anyone any suggestions?
