The Good- I brought my first GLE-350 Mercedes in September of 2016. I love the look and thought the Customer Service would match the luxury feel of the car and it did, until it didn’t. I attempted to give a jump start to another driver at the Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak and my beautiful SUV started displaying “Inoperable”. I called Roadside Assistance and Michael from the Bloomfield Hills location came to my rescue, literally. Michael, was great. He diagnosed the issue with my SUV. He stayed with me and explained the issue to the towing companies. His expertise and professionalism was phenomenal. Michael use his expertise to force my car into neutral even though another Mercedes representative stated that it couldn’t be done. My SUV was dropped-off Sunday evening at the Novi location near my home. Michael called me Monday morning to inform me that he explained what was going on with my SUV to the service tech at the Novi location. I called the Bloomfield Hills location to inform the Manager, Steve on how great Michael has been to me. I told Steve that because of Michael’s great customer service skills I wouldn’t mind staying with the Mercedes brand. The Bad & the Ugly-I arrived at the Novi location at 9:00AM to see what was going on with my GLE-350. I was greeted by Serica, so I asked about the status of my SUV. Serica told me she just started at 9:00AM as she checked her computer. Serica stated that it was assigned to a technician and without an appointment I was lucky to get in. Also, that she would call me with any updates. I thought to myself since I’m already here why wouldn’t she ask the technician the status. Two minute after I left, Serica called and told me the parts had to be ordered and that it would take 4 days. I asked Serica for a loaner car.Four days was a long time and I need a car for work. Serica, stated that no cars were available and that I would have had to book a car two weeks in advance. If I would have known two weeks ago that I was going to blow a fuse in my SUV then I would have planned. I called again on Tuesday, and asked for a Manager. I spoke with Johnathan to see if I could get a loaner car for work. I was highly disappointed in the customer service at the Novi location. Johnathan haven’t returned my call from 9:30AM Tuesday morning.On the other, Serica called to tell me that they are hoping to receive the part sooner than 4 days. In the meantime, I have a credit on my account because I paid my SUV bill for the remaining year with no car to drive. I truly expected Mercedes customer service to be best-in-class. I have driven an Acura for years and Acura’s customer service is top-of the-line. I really thought with a slogan like “Drive the best or nothing”’ the customer service would surpass the rest and be the best, boy was I wrong.
I purchased a brand new Mercedes Benz E350 4MATIC Sport from Fort Washington Mercedes in PA. My son and I took delivery of the car and as we were going home we heard a loud burst and the tire pressure monitor indicated malfunctioning rear right tire. The rear tire blew out at 40 miles odometer reading. The part that worried me the most was I lost control of the vehicle when it happened and was on the verge of hitting a car on the right lane. The emergency service in the car did not work. I had to call my insurance company for roadside assistance. It took them more than an hour to come and replace with a spare tire. There are numerous reports about E350 tire blowouts but I did not take them seriously and purchased E350 but I do not feel safe with this vehicle anymore. Im under constant worry of tire blowout and accident. I paid lot of money for this car and also purchased stress and fear. Note that tire blowout at high speed can cause serious accident and you never know when the blowout would occur. Im not sure what options I have but Im going to talk to the dealer. This car can put you in harms way. I realize now how serious the tire blowout problem is. Please be careful if you intend to buy this car.
I have a huge issue with MB. I own a 2006 CLS 500. This was my dream car. I wanted this car so bad but when I bought it, it gave me nothing but problems. More than twice my brakes went completely out. I could not stop or slow my vehicle down, red light flashed on my dashboard saying stop reduce braking power. Do you know how scary that is to be driving on the freeway 65-70MPH & have a car cut you off & you cant stop or slow down because your breaks completely shut down, shut off. There was another couple times I was driving at 45-55mph on the street and Im coming up on a red light and I cant STOP my car at all, the breaks lock up. I feel so lucky me or my family riding in my car were not injured. Twice MB had to fix the recall SBC (Sensotronic Brake Control) on my car. Certain vehicles, the sensotronic brake control (SBC) system may prematurely shift to the hydraulic back-up function mode, due to deterioration of the wiring harness connection, or due to premature failure of the hydraulic pump.Twice they had to fix this problem. I dont feel safe in this car at all. But the icing on this cake is once I got my car out of the shop, I go to Costco & fill up my gas tank, come out from shopping and underneath the drivers side back, tire gas is leaking. Me & my family get in the car & it smells so bad of gas which isnt good for a toddler to breathe nor anyone to breathe in for that matter. So I take it right back to the dealership & they diagnosed the problem -- crack in my gas tank. So since Im catching on to all these car reviews online I do my research and come to find out that Im not the only one with this or these problems on my 2006 CLS 500. Mind you MB said the gas tank leak & replacement would cost me 3,000$ to fix. So Im doing my research and there is no recall, just complaint after complaint about this gas tank leak. MB insists if I dont fill up my gas tank all the way it wont leak. I couldnt afford 3,000$ for a problem I knew MB was responsible for. So Ive been driving around for 1yr & a half with a cracked gas tank.Dec 2015 Ive exhausted all my options. Now I cant register my car, the check engine light is on because of the crack in the gas tank. So I was recently doing more research and finally MB extended the warranty & is going to cover the gas tank problem after letting me drive around with a cracked gas tank for 1yr and a half -- doesnt sound very safe and reliable. Mercedes-Benz slogan is The Best or Nothing. I havent gotten the best customer service. Roadside is picking my car up today 12-8-15 & MB of Scottsdale AZ informed me since the gas tank is on back order 1-6 weeks and they can NOT give me a loaner car. But they are going to keep my car for 1-6 weeks till the part comes in & the service rep. informed me there is 13 people ahead of me waiting on gas tanks so really who knows how long this will take. I called customer service, they were of NO help. I called them a few more times explaining to them I will NOT have a car. How will I get to work?! They said borrow a friend or family members car (I live in AZ with no family here unfortunately). But how could this be my problem? MB service rep also suggested I can still drive my car till the gas tank comes in. But I explained Ive already used my extended registration from the MVD and I cant register my car without getting a smog and I wont pass smog because check engine light is on because of the Gas Tank Leak... MB customer service wont do anything to help. I asked them what would they suggest and they stay quiet!!! I NEED ANSWERS!! I cant afford to rent a car till when?! 1-6weeks?! They cant even give me a date it will be down, everything is just up in the air & Im ** out of luck.. I am NOT ok with the way Ive been treated dealing with MB. I thought it was The Best or Nothing. My problem still isnt solved. MB roadside is on their way to pick up my car & I still have no transportation. But my car needs to be at the shop so they can order the part. This is so ridiculous and absurd!!
When my vehicle hit 50k miles, everything in my car went inoperable. The vehicle starts but thats it, cannot take out of park. I contacted Mercedes and was told I would have to tow my vehicle to the dealership and Im looking at a minimum of $2500 to diagnose the problem. Of course the warranty expired at 50k miles. Im stuck and at a loss. If anyone has had similar problems with their C250 I would love to hear what it was.
I would not drive or buy a new Mercedes ever again. There isnt enough time in the day to be in and out of the Mercedes repair shop. We just bought another Lexus and at this time selling our disappointing Gl350. After our 6 Mercedes the GL350 was the worst new suv ever. I have been in and out of the dealership 3 times this month, from oil leaks to the air suspension breaking and not being fixed properly. Mercedes would have to pay me to drive these cars. We just bought a Lexus RX last year, and LX to replace the GL. I figured out how good the Lexus was when I was in my Toyota Tundra towing 8000 lbs with 190k on the odometer, I beat it up all day long and it keeps taking any abuse I give it.This past summer at my farm it was 102 outside. I would leave the Tundra running because I don’t care. 40 min later I come back to a cool Tundra after doing some work on the farm. Getting in the cool Tundra with a duel axel trailer loaded to a max, I hit the road again. The Toyota/Lexus do everything the Mercedes cant! They keep me on the road. Toyota is Lexus and if the RX and LX are half as good as the tundra I will be satisfied and go back again.On the front end you may think you have a great car, but once you are out of the warranty Mercedes has you where they want you. The 80k I spent on my Gl is not a waste if I can help 10 people a year to not make the mistake I made. The Mercedes is a good car if you have more money than common sense and you have time to break down and spend your afternoon in the repair shop. I am the original owner of a 2001 Mercedes-Benz S-Class for which I paid over $85,000. My car has a mere 54,000 miles on it and is in superb condition. A few years following the purchase of the car, the thread on my steering wheel began to unravel, at which time I replaced the steering wheel. The same situation has occurred again, necessitating the replacement of the steering wheel for the second time in 54,000 miles. In an effort to appease me, Mercedes-Benz has offered me a whopping $150 toward the cost of putting in the 3rd steering wheel on this supposedly top-of-the-line vehicle. In view of their response, I feel that Mercedes does not stand behind their products, which are sold at premium prices yet often contain inferior workmanship.
The blind spot sensors are a godsend. My wife is a fairly new driver who I know doesnt check her blind spots as well as she should. The alert makes me feel much better about her driving. The vehicle has several modes that affect acceleration and handling. The only 2 that really matter are Comfort and Sport. Sport really brings out the power in the vehicle, and Comfort provides a smooth ride for daily driving. The interior has a premium feel to it while providing a comfortable experience.
I bought a new GLC300 and it has had squeaking brakes almost the entire time Ive owned it. Mercedes told me they were aware of the problem but didnt have the parts to fix it last year. They finally did after 6 MONTHS, now the problem is back! I left a message for the service manager yesterday (he had a lunch to get to). Then I called customer service. I STILL HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THE SERVICE MANAGER. You think you are buying a high end car but in reality the service brings down the brand. So disappointed. I owned a BMW prior to this car and I should have stayed with them, their service is top notch.
I have had numerous problems in my 4 year old ML 500 with the Airmatic suspension which I think is an untested, failed technology. As a result I have spent several thousand dollars replacing the suspension despite the fact that I never go off-roading with this car and also drive carefully to avoid the delicate suspension breaking down. My previous complaints to Daimler as well as their Middle East dealer have had NO RESPONSE! That suggests that not only is the car bad but also the support offered by the vendor is non-existent. I cannot see any reason to buy a new Mercedes especially when there are much better German cars available out there.
Brand new 2010 blue technology ML touted as super vehicle made in Germany is NOT. Never offered an ext. warranty. Prepaid maintenance two years extra through dealer is quack. Leaking oil from every edifice in vehicle after 50000. Dealer did not fix. Had to have towed, spent thousands on dealer repairs. Have loan underwater. Need out!! LEMON!
2009 SL550 37K miles. Close to $10K replacing pumps and parts for hydraulic suspension system within last 25 months. Known to have high rate of failure with MB. 2 weeks ago: Total brake failure at intersection. No warning, car hanging out on 40mph road. Alarms, car engine running but with no control. Could not depress brakes per message on dash hard enough to engage gears. Jumped on them and after several near miss t-bones was able to reverse but not stop reverse due to brake failure. Mercedes Benz SBC design flaw and I was lucky. Someone may not be so lucky someday. Will never drive that car or any other MB again. This is another dangerous and documented flaw. MB did not nothing but replace that part. I think I was supposed to be happy. Asked them for fair market value buy back for my car. I was given all the reasons I had no recourse from. They dont take where the car ended up with the brake failure into consideration to expired lemon law period. Better customer service for our Tahoe. More than disappointed.
MERCEDES GL 350 MANUFACTURED 2012. I purchased the above vehicle from you in January 2013. In October 2013, for the first time, the dash displayed the warning LR Consult Workshop (see attachment). It has taken Laughtons 5 months to identify the problem and I am now advised another 3 weeks to fix it. This is a totally unacceptable level of service. I am also advised that the earliest I will have the car repaired by is Friday 11th July.Since Im leaving for my annual holiday on the 12th, I have no confidence my vehicle will be ready in time whatsoever. I have been further advised that a loan vehicle from you would not be insured for driving in Europe and is therefore of no use to me. I have therefore to revert to my position of two weeks ago when I wrote: I give notice that unless this fault is fixed by the 30th June 2014, then I will ask you for a permanent replacement vehicle of an equal or superior specification. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICES MERCEDES.
My 2017 GLC tailgate opens by itself while in my garage overnight. Today was the third time. The keys were in my pocket I never touched the fob. This time it did significant damage to the garage door and the tailgate. Have you heard anyone else having this issue? Second issue when driving less than 20mph the back camera clicks (activates but does not turn on). This is a new occurrence which I believe is related to the tailgate opening automatically.
You reviewed in the last week Quality Poor to Fair Appeal, Poor to Fair Service, Poor to Fair. I was very displeased with my last two services. Last time, they left three bolts out of the pan causing a rattle and a bolt out of the center brace at the top center rear of the engine. This is a brace that you would remove to change the air filters. On the service done today, the service rep Barry told my wife she needed $8,000 worth of repairs and she had him call me. I asked Barry what needed to be repaired. He said, For starters, you havent had your transmission serviced in 40000 miles. I said, Are you sure? He said according to his records and the service department records, it had not been serviced. Well Barry, I have a bill here that said I had the transmission serviced the last time I was there. He told me I had a serious oil leak at the oil cooler. In the last 10000 miles, the oil did not drop as much as a fraction of a quart. I normally wash my own car, check my oil and keep the area under the hood spotlessly clean. If I had all the oil leaks that he told me I had, I would notice. I will now take my car to one of the best transmission specialist I know and see if they really serviced my transmission last time. I have another Mercedes Benz that I have had for 27 years that was purchased at Snyders when they had the dealership and then I paid for the transmission to be serviced four times over the years and twice at Carlton in Greenville, SC. The transmission failed and I found out that that transmission had never been serviced once even though I have service records to prove that I had. I thought I had finally found an honest MB dealer in Mercedes of South Charlotte but I am pretty sure there is no such thing as an honest MB dealer. It is impossible to send your wife to have a car serviced and expect a fair deal. Its not an issue of money as I can certainly afford what I want. I am just tired of being ripped off. I met the owner and his son and I was really impressed that I had found a dealer I could trust but I can tell you now, run, run as fast as you can away from an MB dealer. I drive a 2011 Mercedes Benz E350. The extended warranty is expired but it only has 89,000 kms on it. First issue, the air conditioning gives me heat instead of cold air. I had sensors to replace after checking warning light codes. The main issue Im having with Mercedes is there is a tear in the leatherette seats in the drivers side. The car has only 89,000 km. I can understand the other issues and how I would be out of pocket, but I would expect a much higher quality standard for an $80,000 dollar car. I had assumed the seats were made out of real leather and would be stitched properly. This issue I expected Mercedes to resolve. However, after many attempts the best they offered was to pay for half the material (about 25% of the total cost). Mercedes is not the quality of vehicle that their image portrays. I would not buy another one in the future, back to BMW for my next vehicle.
I was enticed by Mercedes to buy this car. I was told that there would be only 150 in the United States and that you could never buy the same model with the color of the anniversary edition. That was all fine. They did not sell the color and there were only 150 made. However!!! When the 2019 E400 came out you can walk into the showroom and buy the car with the same color as my 25 year anniversary edition. Very poor of the mercedes company to do that. I have owned probably 7 or 8 Mercedes in my life, and I have bought last one I will ever buy. The car has devalued a lot because of this. I am looking into filing with the Better Business Bureau against such lousy practice of such a large company. I will never buy another Mercedes and I will tell everyone to never trust what they have to offer. So please!!! In my opinion look elsewhere before you buy and overpay for a Mercedes... Look at Audi or BMW before you trust this company.
My car, the GL450 4matic, has had steering column replaced, a recall for other same year 2008 GL450, but for some reason the recall did not apply to my particular vehicle in that year... Electrical between the lift gate and passenger windows and moonroof have gone out and been repaired more than once. Air sacs & front suspension both failed and replaced. All of this by 60,000 miles.My husband’s 2009 sl63 AMG has also had air suspension issues including needing to replace hoses that the mechanic said Mercedes is famous for. The coolant keeps disappearing and seems to be mixing with the oil through the head gasket on a car with 40,000 miles. Not only is this the worst craftsmanship Ive experienced, the dealership and service departments could not be worse in their customer service or concern to fix any problems. I would love to join anyone in holding Mercedes responsible for these repairs.
I purchased a 2015 CLS 400 4MATIC with less than 7500 miles. After driving the vehicle for a week, I noticed a small grill for the dash temperature sensor missing. I took it to MB of Boston in Somerville, MA. I trusted that would be cover under factory warranty because I purchased this vehicle with an obvious factory defect, the dealership declined the warranty repair, instead quoted me $1200 to replaced the small vent on the dash without no explanation, the dealership make no effort to remedy the problem to ensure customer satisfaction. I was heartbroken to be told that it would not. I reached out to MBUSA customer relations, I was told a number of time theyre going to call the dealership to work it out with them and get back to me. Since then Ive been trying to reach MBUSA no one from the dealership or MBUSA has contacted me or made any attempt to remedy this situation.
2011 C class Mercedes - Car sounds like a helicopter (popping ,sputtering and vibrating) when initially started for 35 seconds. Mercedes claims it is a characteristic of the engine. Have been trying to resolve issue with Mercedes of Arlington and corporate for the past 1 1/2 years. If I had heard when 1st looking for car certainly would not have purchased. Very disappointed with Mercedes and would not buy another.
I bought the car when it had half a tank of fuel in it but when you fill it up is stinks of gasoline. If you go online searching for this problem there are a lot of complaints regarding this situation but Mercedes chooses to ignore it! No recalls! Just expensive fixes! This is the 2nd piece of crap Mercedes I’ve had the misfortune to own.
My thoughts about Mercedes Benz Financial and Customer Care Im completely unhappy, disenchanted and disappointed with Mercedes Benz Financial and Mercedes Benz Customer Care. To give you a timeline of events I leased a brand new AMG C 43 2019 MB on February 9th 2019 and exactly 3 days later the engine light went on and as of today February 26th the Mercedes Benz mechanics have yet been able to remove the engine light. Hence as of today my out pocket costs have been over 5,000 not including the ceramic tints I put on the new car all for nothing. At this point I have filed a grievance with Mercedes Benz Customer service and they have commenced the Buy Back Process which they say takes 24 hour period before someone can reach out to me. That was 4 days ago and still no call or email from someone from Mercedes Benz to address my concerns absolutely ridiculous. All the while all I have heard in regards to customer service is, Mr. ** you have to understand we didnt manufacturer the car, you signed a contract. Excuse me, yes I did sign a lease agreement but at this point services have not been rendered and in order to have an agreement and or contract both parties should act professionally and with high business standards and morals. Mercedes Benz USA should own this and be accountable for me being inconvenienced. It is now February 28th and still no car, and not one senior level executive has reached to me to make this right. Throughout this process the lack of responsiveness and customer service mentality as been lacking and definitely in question. Ultimately the sad part is that I still dont have a brand new car and what was supposed to be a proud day in my life has turned out to be a nightmare. E. **. Not sure at this point if I should cut my losses and to Audi. My feeling that I have lost faith in the Mercedes Benz brand. It would have been nice if a a senior executive would have had the decency to call me personally and claim ownership regarding my experience with MB Financial as well as customer care.
I just got a brand new C180k 2012 from CNA Egypt. It was fitted with command online package, which cost me $2500. I was informed by the sales guy, and it is also mentioned on Mercedes Egypt website, that this package includes GPS navigation system. This was the main reason for me to order this package. I was shocked upon receiving the car to find out that Egypt map is not available on this system. Accordingly, the GPS is not functional! So, they just cost me extra $2500 without getting any benefits.
In 2009, we bought a 2002 Mercedes ML-500. We are the 2nd owner of the car. A few years following the purchase of the car, every time when it rains, our car is leaking water everywhere, from the front light, sunroof, floor board to fuse box, and back light from the back seat. We have our two and a half years old son sit in the back seat; he got wet all over. We took the car to the Mercedes dealer. They want us to pay $600-$700 to check to see what going on. But the thing is, a Mercedes car never leaks, and also they are the best car brand in the world. Our friend has an older model car than us but never has that problem. Anyone has the same problem as mine who can give me some info?
When we purchased this vehicle new and picked it up the problems started. The speaker fell out of the wall while I was driving home. I fixed it before my wife gets upset about quality. We took the van to Disney and water started pouring into the van from the roof. Took it in and they fixed it and left a dirty shop towel inside the AC unit, plus dirty finger prints on the panels. Door adjustment on sliding door was not correct. Door would rattle while driving. This was repaired at dealer when oxy sensor went bad. Then the egr valve went bad. Then the AC compress clutch failed and was replaced. They made us pay the labor. AC condenser cooler totally disintegrated and fail into the parking lot in a little pile of aluminum fins. The hide lines stayed intact. This was repaired as well.Paint on the vehicle at 8000. Miles started to chip off every time a bug hit it. Now it looks bad. I used touch up to hide it. They said they would fix it and repainted it, but they never did. Now the serpentine belt and pulley and tensioner are being replaced at my cost. This cost 800 dollars, but they were supposed have fixed this with the AC compressor repair. Anyway, there is more. My van only has 38,000 miles on it. Can you believe this. Mercedes has refused to assist and we have purchased 6 vehicles from them through the years. I guess the German quality is gone and they dont care either.
Mercedes Benz: A waste of money on Roadside Assistance Package or Emergency response package. Futile Products that Mercedes Benz Offers: 1. SOS-GPS, 2. Towing Service, 3. Loaner Cars Service, 4. Customer Service. Last week, Our family was traveling to Death Valley National Park from Phoenix for a get together party. We started around 12.00 noon @ Friday from Phoenix and planned to reach destination by 6.30 pm with several breaks in our Journey.When we are on I-93 and close to Mile Mark 64, Our Mercedes E 300 car had flat (tire blow out though it has run flats on it) around 4.30 pm, which is around 180 miles away from Phoenix and another 120 miles to Vegas. We pulled over the car and realized our run flats were of no use anymore. We tried to move our car further down the roadside aisle but the car doesn’t move and shows the indicator as if its disabled. We called immediately to Mercedes Benz SOS call (A red button on top of our head in Mercedes Benz), They received our call and politely directed us on suggestions to press another wrench button to reach roadside assistance. We followed their instructions. We called for RoadSide assistance for help.We had a conversation with roadside assistance for 15 minutes and gave our location along with mile marker. We been requested several times by our Mercedes Benz on our location, We shared what we know as we are nowhere in the middle of desert and don’t know exact location where we are other than our Mobile Phone provided coordinates. They recorded information and said that they are going to look for a toll truck guy to pull our car near to Henderson Las Vegas Mercedes Benz Showroom.We requested either for a loaner or provide a rental car as the toll truck doesn’t pick 4 people due to their policy constraints. We made it clear that we are ready to pay for those services as Safety is much priority at this moment as we are in middle of highway. To our Surprise, Mercedes Benz couldn’t offer a loaner nor rental. Instead they suggested to get a ride from a family member. (Who the hell on the world can give such a dumb response other than Mercedes Benz Call Center when they already know that we are 180 miles away from home location.)After waiting there for 2 hours and having several conversations with Mercedes Benz Call center, They called again to find our exact location as they couldn’t pinpoint our location. We immediately responded them by sending our Google maps locations. After an hour, We called them up again (around 7 pm) and realized that they might take another 1 hour to pick our car. So we made up our mind and said to come and tow as we are going to leave keys inside and lock the car.Here is the interesting part. As Mercedes Benz offers Lock and Unlock features through your mobile App from anywhere, I requested them to call me when they are about to pick my car so that I can unlock using my App. In that way, its safer to have keys inside of car and keys would help to start the engine. The customer service rep says that they are not sure whether that feature works. Bummer. Finally, we agreed to leave keys nearby front tire and leave the place. We called for Lyft and our pick up was ready in 15 minutes to take us to Vegas.Now the question arises on the products of Mercedes Benz. 1. How come Lyft able to pinpoint our location and render services in less than 15 minutes and dropped us safely to destined location whereas So called Advanced Machine Mercedes Benz couldn’t find its own location where it was stalled. 2. How come Lyft being an App operated able to provide best Customer service where as so-called Luxury vehicle Mercedes Benz doesn’t even know how to talk to its customers and provide some solution and get them to safe destination. 3. How come Mercedes Benz couldn’t offer a loaner car to its customers who are in needy (This is desperate state of being safe) than to promote on their brand.4. How come Henderson Las Vegas Mercedes Benz fail to understand the customer needs instead claim as if their cars is good to move on run flats for another 50 miles. (When the car itself states as if its disabled and cannot move).After coming home, We realized as if AAA and Lyft are better than so called Luxury cars. Just think what would have happened if you have kids in the car, same situation and middle of nowhere. Why do we need to buy these cars which sets high expectations on their services but failed to execute when needed?
Ive owned 5 Mercedes over my car buying experience and I can tell you I will never buy another one. I have a ML 350 BlueTEC (diesel) that has known problems with the vehicle. I just found out on the oil leaking near the rear main seal. I called Mercedes to ask why in the world would a car with 57k miles have a problem like this when Mercedes brags about how great an engineered car they make. I have spent over a week on the problem the dealer fixed the supposed problem to break another problem. Now they want me to pay for what they broke. CROOKS WOULD BE THE WORD I WOULD USE. Ive had several Lexus and no problems. Mercedes does not stand by their name and overcharges for everything. The customer service people just lie to you, point blank. DONT BUY A MERCEDES, BUY A LEXUS. CROOK, CROOKS, AND CROOKS.
They had someone else’s information on my account that I was paying monthly for. I contacted them to no avail! Just canceled my Mbrace services today! Beware they’re horrible, I was paying monthly for a service that they made an error on Surprised that Mercedes Benz is affiliated with them. As a first time lease owner of my fist Mercedes C-class this was a huge disappointment. Prepaid for 2 services at the beginning of the lease just to find out that they expire 2 years after and not by the end of the lease how they made me think. Was only less than a month after my expiration that I took car for service B and now on top of my already paid $500 I must pay again. This is beyond dishonest and most terrible customer treatment Ive ever encountered. Called the office and spoke to Juan who was only able to get a partial credit for the service I now have to pay for the second time. How would you like paying for service twice? Also, on the phone with Mercedes customer service I was blackmailed by Juan (phone number: **) not to write my honest review about this situation or they would take away even the partial credit they just gave me that only partially covers my second charge for the same service I already paid for when I signed up for the lease! It was so unprofessional and disgusting to be blackmailed to stay away from writing this honest review that made me even more compelled to do so because I want to warn all future unsuspected new customers of how they will be treated as well. I will not be buying my future vehicles from them and so is my family. I only want to give my business to places that truly appreciate their customers and with lots of great competitors out there it will be easy to do. You dont want to be tricked, lied to, especially as a first time customer into something that will screw you later and they wont even care about it. Everyone should know before becoming a customer of theirs that they treat their customers in the worst possible manner without any care and with great amount of unprofessionalism by blackmailing them to speak the truth. Did not expect this coming from this car maker of this magnitude but be warned and stay away.
I got a new C200 around 2010 and been driving for 6 years now. This model is good till the use of 130,000 Km. After that start having minor fault but very critical for safety. The car stopped at junctions or traffic lights whenever it went into idle mode. After checking with some local service they advise to change Air Mass sensor and it was almost fixed!! So far I am very satisfied with this brand.
My car is everything I expected and love everything about it especially its appearance. It’s sexy, sporty, not modified, fits today’s cars future looks, and rides fantastic. It has all the toys and creature comforts, all the right safety equipment and has a service warranty that exceeds the cookie cutter warranty of most vehicle coverage on other models.

After (3) MB dealer service exams and 9 Embrace calls, am informed All 2017s have European 3G LTE systems that Will not work in US and cannot be modified. Many other buyers with same problem and MB refuses to exchange car.
I went to get my car serviced and requested if they would make sure they would wash and clean my car; specifically, vacuum the car trunk. The service fellow assured me that they do it for all cars that they service and it would be done. Well it wasn’t. I expected they would wipe the seats, clean the glass but all they did was a shabby vacuum job and washed the car mats. When I called and complained to Gordon, all he said was sorry they were supposed to vacuum the trunk but I guess they didn’t. He went further to say that they usually don’t clean glass or wipe the interiors at all. But he would mention it to the manager.It was such a cold response from the service provider at Mercedes Benz. He could have said, “Well, whenever you can come by, we will clean your car,” but he offered nothing. Useless cheap service. When you purchase a high-end car, I believe the service and customer care after are very important. It is such a turn off, that I wouldn’t buy another Benz because of the lousy, “give a damn about the customer” attitude.
One of the most incredible thing. I bought for my daughter (16Y) a GLC300 for 60K in Delray Mercedes with no park aid assist (bip bip bip), amazing nobody telling me that I need to buy a totally useless package in US named active parking assist to have this, absurd. Korean, Chinese, American, Italian and even the majority of German cars this is standard, but Mercedes force you to buy a useless huge package to have this small and totally necessary sound warnings park assist.
I purchased a 2017 CLA 250 December 2016. I have less than 20,000 miles on the car. I dont live in the city but have had to replace two tires for what Mercedes calls a bubble. Ive had numerous Mercedes and have never had this problem. I dont drive in the city, dont have speed bumps where I go. Mercedes say warrant doesnt cover this. Mercedes is only a name. The quality of their cars a lower than HONDA. You pay all this money and get nothing. The extended warranty is a hoax. How do you have an extended warranty that ends and you havent used your original warranty. Then there is no warranty. Any car you buy now gives more than Mercedes. Its just the name, the car is overpriced and overrated.
2012 SLK 350. MBUSA, I do not agree with your companys position. To date, we had the roof trim replaced, the roof trim brackets broken (in shop for repairs), the door panels replaced, the roof cover replaced, and we are waiting for the glove box door (the material on existing one is delaminating). In addition, there are paint flaws caused by poor handling (according to MBUSA). And, after all this, I do not hear any embarrassment or indication of compensations for my troubles from MBUSA or Daimler. I am starting to believe this is standard quality for Mercedes Benz.I agree, having an MB approved body shop do anything to the paint could reduce the cars value (if the value is not already compromised due the number and type repairs already accomplished). At this point, I feel I have the following options: 1) We can file a Lemon Law Claim or other legal claim. This option is not optimum for anyone and my wife will not let me. 2) We keep the car; but given the current position of MBUSA, it is very unlikely I will ever have anything good to say about Mercedes Benz. And my family will never buy another MB product and I will do my best to dissuade my friends, co-workers, people I meet, from buying a Mercedes Benz car. 3) We can trade/sell it and buy some other companys car. I have two very good vehicles from Toyota and BMW. Unfortunately, I fear the trade-in value of this car may be very inconsistent with the possibly overstated quality of MB. 4) We can come to an agreement about compensation/price adjustment. My wife likes the car and we would consider buying another Mercedes Benz in a few years.Honestly, I prefer option 4. You have my money and you can maintain your position, but ask yourselves what if? What if, given all the defects we forced on this consumer, we agreed to compensation of a few thousand dollars for the actual depreciated value to save ourselves more than $30K, $40K, $50K (times friends and family) in future sales. I appreciate your further consideration.
I went into Walters Mercedes Benz in Riverside to try and figure what could be the problem of the noise - I had just purchased the car from a friend - and he didnt want me to have any problems so he paid $4,000 for a diagnostic check up to make sure all was good. When I was at Walters - not sure if he was a salesman or a mechanic, but he said that that it is a common occurrence for the roof window to fail. He estimated $1600 to have it repaired. I have just finished to talking to Mercedes Benz, and got the total runaround, Two people there Tara, and Antonio, said that they were unaware of any problem. How about you. I am disappointed by the level of service provided by Mercedes Benz South Africa to their customers. I ordered a new C200 in September 2011. I got involved in an accident. My insurer approved the repairs and I took the car to the panel beaters. The insurers provided me with a courtesy car for a limited period.I thought I wouldnt have to walk very long thereafter. Unfortunately, Mercedes Benz did not have parts. I contacted national customer support after waiting more than a month. Parts have not arrived (confirmed with them and panel shop). I asked that I be provided with a courtesy car as I used the car to go to work. They refused and said it was not their fault. I say it is, because had they had parts, my car would be in my hands by now. They later told me the parts had arrived. Panel shop claimed to have received them last Monday (19/03/2011). Repairs will likely to take 3 more weeks. I am still a pedestrian.I loved Mercedes cars. I bought a Mercedes at a price and for, amongst other things, good service. That is what I expected. I value myself and as such prefer to deal with people and companies that value me. I thought Mercedes was among one of them. Was I wrong? Now I know. I may have to be associated with them for longer than I can endure. What a pity?
Air ride failed within first 3 years of ownership. Changed all 4 air bags 2 times, yes 2 times over the course of ownership. Also changed air compressor. Then cooling system fan and radiator. Car had major electrical issues. Had a mind of its own. Sensors for backing up always went off while driving heavily annoying. Rear hatch door went window guides broke. A real lemon. It was totaled because water rose above the floor flooding out my computer.
My Mercedes-Benz C-Class interservisan could not believe in everything is working fine till they got their hands on it. They told me my realise what corroded both sides. Had a good look myself and was not what life was not working anymore. Then believe it also sat nav was working great. I came out - it stopped working. What the hell have they done to try and get money out of people? Its unbelievable, unacceptable and the worse dealership have ever dealt with. Even Skoda must offer something better than this. Never trust a murderer again.
I was a loyal owner of Mercedes Benz (two cars in the past four years). My most recent purchase is the C350 Sport. It came down with a transmission breakdown last week, after three years and just 86,000 miles. I had the car towed to the Euromotors (Germantown, Maryland). I was told that I was to pay about $10,000 in repairs. I became a Mercedes Benz customer because of your craftsmanship and reputation. I never expected a power train issue so early in the life of such a great car. I love the car; I enjoy driving the car, and I expected to remain a loyal customer for a longtime. In fact, I was planning to trade my C350 for the new E350 Coupe next year. The dealership is not willing to do a courtesy repair on my car because my regular services had not been completed by them. I would like the Mercedes corporate office to intercede on my behalf, but when I contacted them (in not so many words), they told me that I was SOL (short on luck), and I was at the mercy of the dealer. I guess I made a big a mistake when I left BMW to become a Mercedes owner.
I come to make a statement of the worst auto customer service I have ever had. My wife and I contacted Mercedes-Benz dealer in Silver Springs, Maryland on January, 21st, 2017 to buy a 2017 Certified Pre-owned Mercedes GLC 300 4MATIC. After test-drive and negotiation, we decided to finance the car with a down payment. As it was Saturday evening and MB Financial services was already closed, all financial approval would be done next week.On the next Monday, January 23rd, I was informed by the dealer that in order to get the financing approved I had to cash down 50% of the value of the car and provide Bank Account statements, pay stubs, Lawful Permanent Resident ID and other documents. I was not surprised since I recently relocated to the USA and I already knew my Credit Score was low. So I made it happen by providing all documents required and by doing an International Wire Transfer to fulfill the amount necessary for the buy. As this transfer was done with urgency, I had to pay extra fees to get the money ready for buy.On Tuesday, January 24th, I was informed that the financing would had been approved and I no longer had to cash down 50% of the value of the car, but about 15%. And car would be delivered on Thursday afternoon, January 26th. In the meantime, I got the car insured and pay for the first monthly payment of it. On Thursday afternoon, Delivery Day, my wife and I returned our rental car and took an Uber to the MB dealer. Everything seemed usual until the big disappointment came. After we had signed part of the contract documents for the buy, we were informed by the manager that they did no longer had approval from MB Financial Services to our financing.Long story short, we came back empty handed, or better said by feet. We were rudely sent alway without any worry by dealer staff if we had the means to come back home. Not even a taxi was called. To conclude, together with all financial loss we had (early returning of a prepaid rental car, Uber, auto insurance and fees on international wire transfer), we suffered prejudice for being immigrants, although we are highly schooled people with Lawful Permanent Residency. The reputation of Mercedes-Benz as one of the greatest auto brands simply vanished for me and my family. The Star lost its bright!
My name is Sibongile **, I have a serious concern Mercedes Benz Constantia Kloof Roodepoort, Gauteng. Firstly: I brought A class 160 classic Mercedes Benz only for fixing of the starter, they made a quotation and we agreed on the price which was R15 177.10 and I paid the deposit of R10 000. Surprisingly when I call them to make follow up, Ive been told that the car is losing power. They assume that the problem is on the petrol pump which need to be replaced. Again, they did second quote of R24 583.30. When I went to collect the car, there was another fault of sensor which need to be replaced. Again, the price went up to R32 797.50. The mechanic Jan told me that when they test drive the car the car loses the power again.I called them to find out if the car is okay but they asked me to come to the workshop they want to show me something, they told me that there is other faults in the car that involved ABS or Computer box, the car still giving them same problem of the power. Firstly Mercedes refused to diagnose the car and find all the problems in the car, they do it one by one which I dont understand. Before fixing my car they were supposed to give me the full diagnosis report because there are the specialists but they failed to do so, they told me that the mechanic does not allow that. They are using assumptions all the time. I am frustrated and running short of cash. I might lose my car, even now the car is still with them. Please intervene on the matter. I am so frustrated and running out of cash.
When you paid premium price for purchasing and routine maintenance of a MB 350E, you expect a solid car with good quality. You would be wrong! My 2011 MB 350E has shown poor quality of materials. The control buttons of the steering wheel were wrapped with a piece of plastics and starting smearing. Moreover, the car seat cover has been torn apart, while the main driver of the car is lighter than 120 lb and the car has been parked mostly in garages. You can see that in the attached photos. I have never seen a premium car deteriorated so early so fast. It seems that the car was built with too many low quality artificial materials, or plastics, and not built to last! Maybe MB is expecting people to spend money every other year to buy a new one. Well, with such poor quality, people may have to to buy a new car in a year or two after an MB, but another brand!
I have owned Honda or Acura products for my entire life. I drive quite a lot but thought I would try something different this time. I really loved the look and feel of the CLA 250 and thought I would test drive it. I was hooked. I bought the car on the spot. Great sales and finance support. No issues there. However, after about 8000 miles, the car started to have issues with the brakes, electrical system and front end, which I am sorry to say, I was forced to document meticulously, wasting numerous hours. To make a long story short, I was treated so poorly it was staggering. And by a Mercedes dealership, which I really didnt expect. I have owned the car for a little over a year; it has been in the shop about two months out of that time and still is not driving correctly. The service manager and general manager are not only unhelpful, but downright rude. Stay away from these guys.
I own a Mercedes Benz SL 500 (TRS680 GP). Earlier this year, the car went into your workshops ten (10) times before they were able to repair the distronic sensor.At 30,000 km, the car went for a service. Within 50 km after the service, the suspension collapsed and there was a complete failure of the brakes. Fortunately I was able to avoid an accident. The car was towed in to Mercedes-Benz Sandton (corner Rivonia & South) on Monday July 18, 2011. This morning (July 29, 2011), I went and enquired what was happening and I was told the parts for the suspension were due on the 4th of August.Only after the suspension was repaired could they establish why there was a total brake failure. If more parts are required, then I guess there will be a further 3- 4 weeks of wait without my car.The customer service center will not return my calls. (Lance)In summary, straight after the car was serviced, a serious safety problem arose – namely, the suspension and total brake failure occurred. Previous experience showed that repairs, namely the distronic, are not reliable and excessively slow.Please explain to me why I should not notify the relevant authorities on the apparent inability of your group to maintain vehicles in a safe and roadworthy condition.Your reply without delay would be appreciated.
In January of 2019 we each received our new leased vehicles, and 6 months of free MBRACE. I have used this service in the past and it was tolerable, though hardly worth the ridiculous price. What is provided currently is horrible. It takes forever for someone to answer, and each time I call, the people who answer neither speak nor understand English. Guaranteed that when the free period is over, it wont be continued, and I highly doubt I will use it when its free.
We bought a 2021 Mercedes Sprinter RV and my one concern is that the cassis was Mercedes. About 8 months of owning this something is wrong with the turbo, dropped this off at Mercedes Melbourne FL after making an appointment 3 weeks out and this still has not been looked after 5 weeks now. Do your homework on service centers prior to buying, in Central FL there are only 3 service centers for sprinter. Go with a ford or Ram for an rv cassis they have hundreds of services centers!
I have two keys for my 2006 350. I have replaced the batteries over the years no problem with that at all. Recently, I went to replace the battery in set of keys but that didnt work for all the functions. I could lock my car but not open it... strange huh. So I went to my alternate set of keys, used them for a while and then that set didnt work either... weird. I could open my car doors but couldnt lock them. So I have been using 2 sets of keys to run my car. Doesnt make sense to me.So I contacted my Mercedes Dealership and explained the issue. They said, No problem. Come in and we will order you 2 new sets of keys. Sounds good so far... but not too fast. Each set would be $300. Mercedes wants me to pay $600 to replace Faulty keys. I didnt lose them... I just used them since I have had the car. Now they dont work properly. So I have to pay Mercedes $600 so I can operate my car and replace faulty keys. I have never heard that before. I could understand if I lost keys... but I didnt... they just stopped working correctly. So for being a good customer (repeat customer) I am now saddled with a $600 charge to replace faulty equipment. If I do that... which I must... there is no guaranty the new keys will last either. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of... COME ON MAN!! Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I wanted to post this to hopefully let potential customers know what to ask their dealership when thinking of purchasing a GLC 300. I apologize for the long length, but, think it will give some insight into the possible multiple problems. Keep reading: My wife and I purchased a 2016 Mercedes Benz GLC 300 4Matic in March of 2016 - - our first and only Mercedes. Within 6 months of purchase, the brakes starting to emit an ear piercing squealing when in reverse. We contacted the dealership and were told that there was a design problem with the brake pads and new parts were being worked on.In the interim, the brakes started squealing in forward as well. We waited from September, 2016 until the beginning of 2017 before new pads were put on. Later in the year we began to hear tire noise inside the vehicle. We had a second maintenance service scheduled and done on December 9, 2017 and informed the dealership of the tire noise.After their investigation, we were told that we needed to purchase new tires, although, the mileage on the tires was at 18,935 miles. The Pirelli Scorpion Verde tires on the vehicle are rated for 65,000 miles. At the same time, we also experienced a clicking noise near the drivers door. The explanation for this was noise coming from the high pressure fuel pump. Not sure why we didnt hear the same noise when the vehicle was brand new. Also, the brake squealing also started again. We were informed, after having to ask, that Mercedes was working on yet another fix, but, parts were not yet available. We are still waiting for the new brake parts.This was just a prelude to what was coming. On January 4, 2018 my wife was driving home from work. The vehicle began to shake, sputter, and she could not get the vehicle to accelerate. By the time she reached home, 8 miles, the car was smoking profusely. After contacting the dealership, the car had to be towed. We were contacted the next day, January 5, by the Service Manager. We were told that a call was placed to the engineers in Germany because this had never happened before, even though there are several posts on various internet sites that dispute that statement.Due to the dealership not having a loaner vehicle available, we had to rent a car from January 5 until January 15 this was reimbursed by Mercedes. On January 15 we did receive a loaner vehicle from the dealership. On January 24 a call from the dealership informed us that the torque converter had gone bad and needed to be replaced. The mileage on the vehicle at this time was approximately 19,500 miles. Finally, on January 30 we received a call indicating our vehicle would be ready on Thursday, February 1. We met with the Service Manager upon arrival at the dealership and reviewed all the issues we experienced with the vehicle up to that point.We then began driving back home. When we were about 20 miles from home, a check oil level indicator message appeared on the instrument panel. When we arrived home, I checked the oil level and found that it barely registering on the dipstick. We were instructed to have the vehicle towed back to the dealership. They started looking at the vehicle on Monday, February 5. They called and informed us that the oil had not been touched in any way during the torque converter work, but, they needed more time to determine where the oil was going. They will continue to investigate as of tomorrow, February 3.
I took my car for maintenance where the only reason I went there is because the gentleman that sold me my cars I think is great, plus has great customer service. I pay for the maintenance package for my car. There were three items I had concerns with. The location kept my car there for two days and I am still not happy with the navigation system that shut down and was not working. Even after service I had to use my phone for navigation. My main concern was my tire and the guys from service said dont worry I will have that taken care of for you. I left feeling great thinking my car will be fixed. Navigation again not happy with but my tire was left as it is with more a lot of excessive air. Dangerous to even drive. I called corporate customer service. Was horrible and not comfortable to speak with. The case worker called me and it was a waste of my time. Hold is too long. Getting in touch with anyone in corporate is easy. Also, I called back asking to speak with someone else even asked for the General Manager and they said Ralph ** does not accept calls from customers? That was not customer service orientated at all. When I should not even pay a 200 tire it should have been replaced when its a tire leak. That is a bad tire which is not my fault. I was shocked on the customer service. Never had I had such horrible experience. One thing is that I would never buy another Mercedes ever again. That is only what I drive and would be the only car I drive, however they will lose a repeat loyal customer with this pity low class service. The case manager Justin did not even try to assist when I was not pleased with the situation, and they told me he doesnt report to anyone? That is false information and every customer has the right to speak with some else. They send me off with a defective bad tire which is not safe to commute in.
The turbo of my B Class has failed for the second time in just more than a year. The clock is on 62,000 km. Both times, Mercedes has towed the car in but didnt even ask if I need a courtesy car. I have to travel 40 km to work and back. I had to collect my car myself in Pretoria, 100 km from where I stay. Mercedes gave me a reason why the turbo failed each time and each time their comment was that it never happened before with a B class. If that is the true, it means my car is a defected car and actually should be replaced. They only give the reasons and stopped at that. Im not satisfied with just an answer from a company that is supposed to be one of the finest in the motor business. My husband bought me a Mercedes because its one of the best, but my trust in my vehicle on the road is ruined and I am scared for the next time the turbo fails, the car lost power and had a lot of smoke coming from the exhaust. Fortunately, I was near the school where Im teaching and could reach my destination. What if my car lets me down on a deserted road and Im alone? I really want somebody to give me more than an excuse and with a practical solution to my problem.
My wife recently exited our C300 MB to come back into our home. She came back to the car only to find it had driven off down our hill, thru our brick pony wall and finally thru our neighbors boulder ditch. 7 weeks later, the insurance company totaled the car. In the meantime we have been complaining numerous times to MB head office over the fact that the car has always exhibited a safety feature in which it shifts into park automatically whenever, and every time, the door is opened. The one time we needed it to, it didnt. Failed completely and now we have lost our car. What really is disappointing is the fact that MB USA has completely ignored this and frankly if this safety feature doesnt perform, then the next time the car runs away on someone, the results could be more tragic than it was this time. Shame shame shame on MB for caring so little to even address this with us.
I had a 2015 smart car. When my lease was over I turned the car in and got a 2018 smart. This happened on July 2018. On Aug 15, 2018 someone used the 2015 smart car with my expired inspection sticker and got a traffic ticket, when I got the ticket in the mail I contacted the salesperson Nicole ** in the Manhattan office, sent her the ticket, my new inspection sticker, the new car registration card and all she asked for, by text. Now it is October 21 2018. And they have not done anything to correct this issue. Horrible experience, it seems they do not take responsibility for their wrongdoing.
I purchased a used 2007 Mercedes-Benz C230. The car had around 70k miles on it. I was driving home one night and the car suddenly jerked and went into Limp mode. Meaning the car would not accelerate past 40 mph. I was able to drive it to a MB Service Center where I was informed that a sensor inside the transmission had failed, it was an anti-theft related part and could only be installed and programmed by Mercedes. I reached out to Mercedes for some assistance and was told because the car wasnt serviced throughout its life by MB they were not willing to help with the cost of the part. $2,700.My next purchase of a Mercedes was a 2009 C63 AMG. These are high-performance, hand-built engines. I verified this vehicle had always been serviced at a MB dealership before I purchased it. Around 80,000 miles, I was driving down the interstate and was about to pass someone when a check engine light came on and my vehicle lost all power, we were lucky there was enough of a gap in the Houston traffic to pull over safely. The vehicle was towed to Mercedes and was there about 3 or 4 days before they called and told me a wiring harness for the fuel pump had shorted out and needed to be replaced. $700. It took them another 3-4 days to actually get the vehicle repaired. At about 85,000 miles I get a notification that my brakes need to be replaced. Call MB for a quote. $6,000.At about 90,000 miles a check engine light came on. It went off but soon after it returned. I took it to the Mercedes Dealership, 4 days later they call me and tell me my INTAKE MANIFOLD is cracked and needs to be replaced for $3,747.00. This is a hand-built performance engine, are you kidding me? I again reach out to MB USA with my concerns and looking for some assistance, they tell me the service records dont matter and its about 1. If I bought the car from Mercedes and 2. How many times I, myself have had the vehicle serviced by the dealership. From that they decide if they feel the need to help with the cost of the repairs. This part is obviously faulty and Mercedes would be embarrassed if I posted the pictures of the crack in this aluminum-alloy intake manifold and the bubbles forming in the weaker parts of the metal.I asked the Lead Technician what would cause something like this and his response was That would be a question better answered by an engineer. I am not saying all cars dont have their problems, I am saying most of us cant afford the problems Mercedes-Benz have. The parts, service, and maintenance required on these vehicles is extremely expensive and if something happens you better hope you have thousands of dollars laying around that you can use.
I just got a brand new Mercedes Benz 2016 c300. In less than a half month, the engine wont start. When I push start button, all indicator lights are on. And the brake tail light cannot be turned off. WTF. I am still waiting road assist to tow it to the dealer. Can I exchange for a new one???
My key will not turn my ignition. I have done some research and it seems that this is something that has happened to many Mercedes Benz automobiles and isnt specific to my model, which is a 1997 C280. I am so disappointed. The motor runs great and I love the car, but this is absolutely ridiculous! I went out one day and the key just wont turn no matter how hard I tried and what I did. I dont even know what the problem is. I dont know if the steering wheel is locked somehow and I just need to somehow get it unlocked or if its jammed or if something isnt lining up inside where the key goes. I dont know.
The worst vehicle I have ever owned and the worst service. When you buy a vehicle 2016 with less than 1200 miles on it and they tell you the van should get between 30-40 miles per gal and you get 18.4 and the lights keep on going on and off, and the tires had to be replaced with less than 9,000 miles on it, and the doors and windows stick, and you go in to have the check lights corrected and ten miles down the road they are back on, when the fuel gauge is not accurate, and and and...I could write a book about this piece of overpriced garbage. I now suffer from Ford envy as I drive all over the country and I do not feel safe in this vehicle as lights are going on and off all the time including check engine lights. Ive had more problems with this vehicle and spent more money in the few months Ive had the Metris than I have ever on a vehicle, and I usually get between 250,000 and 325,000 miles on a vehicle.The salesman left the dealership right after I bought the van and the service dept. instead of fixing the warning light they filled the fluid levels! Ive already talked two friends into not buying a Mercedes! The salesman told me they only allowed 100.00 for my van which had 4 brand new tires and battery as they could only scrap it. I would have taken it back and given it to public radio but he said they had already sent it off! Should I go on? When I had the tires replaced because they said they were not safe I took the tires and they look fine to just about everyone who has looked at them. I had to have air put into the tires two days after I purchased it as the light for air pressure was on. I am a professional and because I am a woman I pay attention to vehicles and everything that affects me and my business. I am now going to see if I can get any money for this piece of junk and buy another van, Hopefully this will be from a decent company and will not have chocolate on the seats when I get it. Never buy a Mercedes or deal with their salesmen or service dept. Anyone want to buy this cargo van? Oh they told me that the Metris is a cargo van but you shouldnt put any weight in it!
I purchased a new 2017 Mercedes Benz Sprinter van and at approximately 5000 miles I started having transmission issues. I brought it to the dealer 3 times for the same issue. Every time they tried different things from updates to the control module, replacing the valve body to even swapping out the transmission control module all with no resolve. They even had a technical rep come out and after 3 weeks in the shop it’s still not working correctly. I’m convinced that their technicians are glorified part swappers and they have no clue what theyre doing. This is my first experience with Mercedes Benz and it’s going to be my last because to date this issue has cost me over 25k in lost business from not having my van and Mercedes Benz could care less.
I bought a brand new special ordered gl 450 2014. In 6 months, I took it back 3 times to the dealer. Transmission is banging in to gear. They kept it 2 days. Updated a program and problem is worse. Its now jumping on the highway. The dealer said drive it for a month then bring it back if it happens again. It happened while I was driving out of the dealer. No help and I just spend 90 grand on a Gl 450. Never again I would buy a Benz or recommend anyone to buy a benz. Poor service. They experiment on your vehicle.
S550 MB. 108k miles. Miss on cy 2. 5000.00 in repairs in 2 months. No resolve. MB of fort wayne cannot figure it out. This car costs over 90k in 2007. It has 120k miles. It has cost close to a dollar A MILE TO DRIVE! That is what you call Mercedes-Benz standards???
With under 40,000 at the initial start of the check engine light coming on which no one else besides MB has ever serviced, I had to get the balance shaft replaced in the motor at my total expense. From reading reviews and information from this page and other pages they said it was best to take the car back to the dealer for this type of job. I tried other Mercedes dealerships in Cleveland: North Olmsted gave me a phone estimate of $10,000, Mercedes-Benz of Willoughby Leikin said they were too small to handle such a big job so I ended up taking the car back to Mercedes Benz of Bedford where I originally purchase it for a mere$7,036.51. I associate this cost with me being **, female, prior neg. post and phone calls. This was the worse purchase I have ever made in my life and I would NEVER buy another Mercedes. They do not stand behind their merchandise. I think they tossed a coin to see who was going to service me (after corporate calls, because Bedford where I originally purchased the car new, never called me back). My conclusion: once the car is out of warranty they really dont want your business, unless its to trade the car in on a new one and they resell your old one for a mint. I know people are in business to make money but when your product falls short of what it claims to be I feel you are obligated to provide some type of relief. Word of mouth is the best advertisement you can get. When the words of many mouths is a negative experience in the end you lose. By the way Mercedes USA was a waste of my time. They did absolutely nothing.
I own a 2003 Mercedes CLK 320 convertible. I love my car. However, I am having to trade it in because of rust problems! The car has only 28,000 miles and has been kept in covered garaged parking when not in use. Both doors started rusting at the very bottom about a year ago. Mercedes says it is out of warranty and the repairs will be upwards of $5,000. I am very disappointed with Mercedes and sad to have to get rid of my car.
I have complained to the West Chester Ohio dealership regarding the Parking Brake not releasing after putting the car in gear. I pull the park release and it has no effect on the brake. The only way I can get the car to move is to apply the gas, until it releases with a loud noise. This cannot be safe, but I was told that this has been happened with some of their other customers. I called and filed a complaint with MB USA and was told they will forward it to their recall department. I was curious how many other customer are experts this issue.
I got a very nice Mercedes Benz new B Class - a demo vehicle that has less than 3k on it and its diesel. A reasonable price deal was agreed upon and according to the MB dealer, fuel filler would be sorted before collection. No chance. Two fuel flaps later and after they have collected (Greenoaks Slough) and put a chip on my windscreen, they cant fix it to get it fitting correctly. MB customer services wont do anything and say its the way the vehicle is designed. Yes. They do MB cars with bits that dont fit. This is my first MB, I am very pleased with the car but not the after sales. This is no better than a back street car lot with a second hand car salesman. I had a C class loan vehicle while they had a look at my vehicle and its fuel filler flap is just perfect. I know its a different model but the principle is the same. It also proves that MB cant do it right. Why, MB? Never again, Im afraid!
After I visited the car dealer to trade in my car to buy another, I chose a 2006 R 350 Mercedes Benz. After I test drive it I decided to go ahead and buy it, did the paper works, I was inform that I couldnt drive the car home that night, the report was they having a problem starting the vehicle, something to do with the battery. I try to resolve it but it kept doing the same thing, I think that when they realized it was not the battery but something more internal. Long story short, after I receive the car couple day after it was deliver, it would not start. Took it back to Spanos, they looked at it and said they didnt find anything wrong with the it. Thought maybe its just a one time thing, but after about a couple of days, the car kept doing the same thing until about three month of having the car, it stop working completely.Took it to my mechanic and thats when I found out that they actually rig up the gas pump with industrial glue, they reroute a wire in the fuse box because they didnt want to spend money to fix it before they put on their lot for sale. I actually took it to the Mercedes Benz shop and they were baffled that someone could rig up a repair and sell it to unsuspecting customer. Now Im stuck with a car I cant drive for months, it still in the shop and that to and injury they actually sold me the car way over Kelley Blue Book value, stole my cadillac for little or nothing, now Im stuck with a car with a bad repair. My only thing is I would like Spanos to make sure they repair these car properly before they put it for sale. They do have a bad reputation for doing stuff like that and I also like for them to fix my car or pay for the repairs they should have done before it was sold to me.
My husband and I were very interested in buying a Mercedes Sprinter van but before taking the plunge we decided to rent a 2011 Sprinter. I am very glad we did because I would NOT want to own this vehicle due to MAJOR safety considerations. Also, we had a VERY poor experience with one of the service advisor of this dealership.This is our story: We were traveling through Southern Oregon and were climbing one of the steep grades of I-5 heading into Grants Pass. Suddenly, we heard a loud “pop” and the Sprinter suddenly lost power. We were in the left lane and had to quickly try to get over. We barely missed getting rear ended by a car and then a big rig. It was terrifying. We managed to get off the Interstate near Hugo, Oregon. We didn’t know it at the time but the Sprinter’s computer deliberately put the van into “limp mode”. This means that the vehicle has a fraction of the power it normally has. When we found a safe place to park, we pulled over and contacted Mercedes Emergency Roadside Assistance. They told us that it would be 2 hours before a tow arrived to take the incapacitated van and us to the M-B Dealership in Medford. We called the M-B Dealership in Medford and let them know what was happening. While we were waiting for the tow, my husband accessed information on the internet and learned that this was likely to be an issue with the Sprinters turbocharger connection to the engine. There seems to be a variety of ways that the turbocharger on this van fails. Some of these failures result in expensive maintenance issues BUT some of them make this van dangerous to drive.My husband told the M-B what he thought the issue might be with this van. Turns out that he was basically correct. We asked the Service Advisor to let us know what was happening with the repair as soon as she knew anything. Not ONCE did this Service Advisor contact us to tell us what was happening in the subsequent 2 days. We were fortunate enough to call and reach another Service Advisor who kindly told us that the problem WAS the connection between the Turbo and the Sprinter’s engine and that it would take about 4 hours to repair.I later called the Service Manager and tried to figure out if there was a reason why the Service Advisor never bothered to return our calls. Of course, the Service Manager never called me back. Given the reputation M-B has for superior customer service, I was a little perplexed at this situation but later came to the conclusion that if you are frequently dealing with unhappy M-B vehicle owners, you probably learn not to return phone calls. In summary, I was so upset at this life threatening experience and the callous way the Service Advisor treated us that I would never buy a Mercedes vehicle and I will do what I can to warn anyone to stay away from the Sprinter van.
Have a 3500 Sprinter Van purchased new in 2011... In the past year, have spent over $10,000 in repairs. The latest issue is that the drive shaft universal joints have to be replaced and the Mercedes dealership tells me that the whole shaft has to be replaced as the universals cannot be changed on their own?????? 2,000 for what would be a $200 job anywhere else. Seems everything about this van to repair is expensive... Def heater $2,000, trouble diagnosis $200, headlights rotted out in two years, alternator in three, blows out lights on a regular basis, radio has not worked since it was ahead old, etc etc etc... Worst van we ever had...
Its a nice car. I like the feature of heated seats and also sunroof. Window looks nice too because if you slide them down front and back both then it looks like a sports car because its not separated. Cars outlook is beautiful. Especially the shape of the car is much nicer than others. I liked everything in the beginning but its not good for everyday car. This might be for 2nd car if you have extra money for the car because its too expensive for maintenance and there is some electric problems after you purchase 3-4years later. I think there is too many accessories inside of the car and also outside as well. Thats why I have some problem sometimes. I like the most of features but then internal parts fell off and light ball fell off in front. This car started to gives me problems pretty soon.
In July of 2011, I purchased a certified pre-owned Mercedes E350 with about 10,000 miles on it. Now, less than 3 months of owning this car, the air conditioning smells awful when I turn it on, I mean it literally smells like feces or sewage. I stopped by the Mercedes dealer today (8-October-2011) where I purchased it from only to be told that Mercedes is not warranting this problem. I was told he had 4 customers just this week reporting the exact same thing. It would be my responsibility to pay for what would be the amount of a temporary fix; replacing the cabin air-filter and spraying some Lysol-type disinfectant in the coil condensate box, costing around $180 to $200. This same scenario would need to be repeated at least yearly or more often. The service adviser himself even stated he did not agree with Mercedes not warranting this problem, and even stating that Mercedes does not believe it to be a problem. Well try driving my car with the A/C on with the smell that immediately begins to fill the car. It nearly makes you want to vomit so bad. My A/C is virtually unusable because of it. I have owned Mercedes cars since 2008 and not once have I had an issue, until now. And this is making me seriously contemplate selling the car (at a substantial loss because who wants to buy a car that smells like sewage) and buying something else. I had considered myself to be a lifelong Mercedes owner/driver, but if they refuse to stand by their product, then why should I remain loyal to them? It is an engineering and design defect that needs to be retrofitted and corrected. Come on Mercedes, do something about this, or I wont be the only Mercedes customer that youll lose to another manufacturer.
I have a 2010 Mercedes-Benz C300. It was leased on 5-18-10. Transmission replaced on 9-14-10. Problems started on or about 6-1-11. I have been into the dealership to have it repaired and still not corrected (currently at dealership). Attempts to repair were on 6-1-11, 11-16-11, 12-7-11, 1-10-12, 2-13-12 and 3-12-12 (currently there). Lemon law letter was sent on 2-21-12. No response to that at all. I’m very angry and just want out of this lease once and for all.
My Mercedes is the best car I have ever owned. Well priced, high luxury, great drive. Maintenance has been reasonable. Really cannot complain about this car. Sound system and navigation system perform well. The leather interior is lovely!
My car developed a water pump issue - it was changed at a dealership. 12 months later it developed the same problem but this time the dealer wanted £180.00 as a contribution because it needed a new pipe. It was then I discovered Mercedes Benz are having problems with water pumps. My car Mercedes Benz C200 CDI a 2011 model now requires its 3rd water pump. This could be an international problem Mercedes Benz are not going to admit
Purchased a Mercedes-Benz SLK 250 hardtop convertible. After the second leak the local dealer replace my hardtop and installed a fake pano roof that looks like a cheap aftermarket accessory that devalues my car. I purchased a hardtop and that is what I wanted and expected when I returned to the dealership. Now trying to get the situation resolved after escalating to MBUSA. This has turned into an ordeal. To complicate matters, their correction has resulted in a series of additional damages and attempts to profit more from their mistake. I contacted the NC Attorney General Office because I refused to reason with unreasonable people.
Brake failure and proximity warning system failure that MB and the dealership refused to support. Rather than fight this I’ve decided to get rid of the car. The dealership in Buffalo, NY and MB were terrible.
I have a 2007 Mercedes Benz S550 with 25k miles, and had to spend $6000 for a Remanufactured Transmission at Mercedes Benz of Scottsdale, Arizona. I called Mercedes Benz Corporation and a case manager by the name of Valerie told me that because I dont have any warranty from Mercedes Benz, I am on my own and kick rocks, they dont have to pay for the transmission. What type of company sells a product and when the product fails, they dont want any part of it. Please I need an attorney to help me deal with this issue. You tell me a vehicle that costs $100k to make needs a new transmission after 25k miles driven. Are you kidding me? Mercedes Benz has a lot of people in my situation. Can the Us Attorney General does her job? Can you please investigate Mercedes Benz and find out why they cost American Citizens so much money after buying their fake beauty cars....
I have a problem with one of the vehicles we have bought with Mercedes and I would really appreciate assistance in solving this problem. I have bought all my Mercedes from Mercedes-Benz Angelopolis. I submitted a letter to the dealer and they told me that they have not received answer from Mercedes. To date, we have seven Mercedes vehicles and none of these had experienced problems before or had manufacturers defects except for this Class A-190. The vehicles we own are: one Class ML 350, two Classes ML 500, one Class A 190, one Class C, and one Smart.The only reason we have continued with the brand was the durability and the confidence that the vehicles gave us; it was reliable, as what I used to say. The vehicle, Class A-190, which has the problem has just 30,000.00 miles. I cannot conceive that a Mercedes has major problems with such a short mileage. I insist that the only reason Im still buying Mercedes is because of the supposed level of quality and service life of the vehicles. I hereby, request this to be reported to the plant in Germany and to repair the vehicle at no cost. Its not a Chevy, GM or a Ford; its a Mercedes. Its what the vendor say when you are paying extra money for a Mercedes, and it should last as a Mercedes. My wife almost never use this car. If this is what we expect from the brand, it is cheaper to buy an Atos or any other car and change it every three years. I have been its most faithful advertiser because I always trusted the brand. I hope this will be resolved. 30,000.00 miles are nothing for a Mercedes transmission. I definitely want to stay with them but in no way I will accept them trying to rip me off. This transmission came defective from the beginning. Four years ago, we started to buy other brands for a couple of problems we had with the service; while Ford and GM, are still a mess, at least Toyota has given us good service. Last year, we bought back with them the Class C and the Smart. A couple of days ago, we were evaluating to buy another Class ML-500, but after this, we do not know what to think. It really upsets me that Mercedes ends up being as good as a Chevy and in theory charges me extra money for a quality that does not exist. Please give me a favorable solution to this issue as quickly as possible. If not, then tell me what to do.I wont buy a Mercedez Again and I will suggest that everybody chose another brand.
I bought my car E350 4matic 2012 last year around April and a few weeks ago, my car started making a tapping noise. I took my car to the closest MB dealer and after a day or two, they finally found that the car had a wrong size wrist pin in the piston. They offered to change the 6 pistons and the connecting rods all together. I have friends who build engines and flip cars from scratch, so I ran the issue by them. I even had one of my friends to talk to the technician adviser and pinpointing the real issue. At first the dealer was telling me that there is an oil lash in the pistons. After my friends talked to them and corrected them that there is no oil lash in the pistons and the tapping noise can only come if the wrist pins are not the correct size. Since the car came with defective parts and they changed almost the engine, I believe the value of my car has diminished and the MBUSA should compensate me at least by extending the warranty. After several phone calls and emails, someone in the name of Joe called me from the MBUSA and told me that he will talk to the dealer and the service adviser; and he will get back to me. So I got a call yesterday and result was/is disappointing. He told me that MBUSA did not grant any extended warranty and that is why the original warranty is there for. My next step is to file a complaint to Virginia Department of Consumer Affairs and Better Business Bureau Virginia. Did anyone else have any issue similar to mine on their E350? I am certain my next car is not going to be a Mercedes Benz. What would you guys do if you were me? Thanks for your inputs in advance.
Unfortunately, I have not had a good experience so far. In February 2020 I purchased a new GLB250 and I loved the car. However, I cannot to get the Mercedes Me app connected as it will not accept the VIN. After at least a dozen calls to support, and with the case escalated to “the highest level,” I got nowhere. I called the dealer, Mercedes of Winter Park, and I spoke with at least 4 people. I even left the new car with them for three days. They found nothing and fixed nothing. TWO MONTHS later, all communications have ceased, I have been ghosted, both by the dealer and Mercedes Me support and the problem is STILL unresolved.
We purchased this beautiful black SUV in December of 2011, over a year ago as of today. I debated between an Acura vs. a Mercedes. I have owned an Acura in the past and was pleasantly surprised by Acuras outstanding customer service. However, I chose Mercedes, assuming they too would have impeccable service. This assumption was far from the truth. The Mercedes did not come with running boards and since I am short and we live in rainy Oregon, its essential to have running boards and mud flaps. We didnt want to have mud flaps put on until we received the running boards as the two really need to be installed at the same time. We have now been waiting over one year for the running boards. I have called Mercedes directly and been told we have been put on the preferred list but they did not have an ETA of when I would actually get them.To make matters worse, I purchased rubber floor mats and received a recall notice for the drivers side, took the mat in and was told they had to actually take the current mat, mail it to Mercedes and wait for Mercedes to mail the new one back. Again I am told, no ETA, and off the cuff, good luck with that...
I have decided to write this review after multiple BAD Customer experience from both the Customer Service & the MBFS. Its very disappointing that MBUSA & MBFS dont care how long you been a customer and how many Mercedes Benz & Mercedes AMG you have had in your immediate household. Thank you.
I purchased my Mercedes Benz (MB) Metris in 2018, new. 1 month after the warranty expired, I had an ABS sensor go bad. The van had 18,000 miles on it. It was replaced and the next day the ABS light came on again. Thinking it was a faulty sensor I returned it to the repair shop. They called to tell me that this time it was the other wheels ABS sensor. For a vehicle I had purchased specifically for the reliability and dependability I was extremely disappointed that these sensors would go bad so quickly. This is a MERCEDES. My mechanic suggested I contact the dealer. I have called the dealer 6 times, and each time they have said someone in their service department would get back to me. I gave them 1 week after each call to get back to me. I have never had a return phone call. The last time I called I asked for the manager. Again, promised call back, with no call. Then I reached out to make a written complaint on MB of America, still no response. I finally called MB of America customer service and did speak to a very nice man who agreed, this is not a normal thing to occur. He researched to part to see if there was a recall, none found. Then he proceeded to only provide a case number for reference if it happens again... This cost me almost $1000 dollars and I dont believe I should have incurred this expense on a vehicle with only 18k miles on it. For a vehicle maker who claims to be responsive, Im not feeling satisfied.
Last Sept. 2009, I leased a 3 year 2010 Mercedes ML-350 4matic. The water pump was replaced at the 5k mile mark. Both control arms were replaced at the 10k mile mark. The replacement resulted the off center steering wheel, corrected by miss-alignment with toe in adjustment, resulting in front premature tire wear and loss of correct vehicle handling characteristics. Steering wheel is still off center. The right front lamp marker error message detected at 10k mile mark one year ago is still not repaired. The left front brake wiring harness and sensor malfunctioned at 2 year mark with 18.5k miles. Both rear seat belt harnesses were defective from the factory, only the right one has been repaired.
On June I bought a Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG. After about a week of having the car a check engine light was on, took the car to the dealer and after a couple of days the dealer told me the problem was fix and it was only a bad sensor. After another couple of week the check engine light was on again; took the car to the dealer and after about a week of having the car I was informed that the 4 fuel injectors had to be change. Car was good for about 3 weeks. After that once again check engine light went on; took the car to the dealer one more time and this time is was the fuel pump that was replaced. I express to the dealer I was very unhappy with the situation. After going back and forth with the dealer about the situation, they told me I had to open a complaint with Mercedes-Benz USA by calling a 1-800 number. I did that and after and received a call from a MB regional manager that told me they review my complaint and were not able to assist me with my problem and explain me that if I wanted to get something done further I shall get legal counseling because they were very firm on their position. After all this I decided to move the page and get rid of the car. I purchase a BMW, which I had always have for many years and never had a problem with. This whole nightmare cost me 30 thousand dollars.
I have replaced 3 tires on my C350 in the past 2 years or so. A blow out at 100km/hr on the highway and 2 tires that have bulges on the inside of the tire that needed to be replaced. I am told by a local tire specialist Fountain tire that I need to replace both tires on the rear and having spend a small fortune I am not prepared to do that. I was advised with low profile tires and the winters in Alberta that this is something I need to get used to and keep paying for replacement every couple of years. These are continental tires and I am considering changing brand and height profile of the tire... Pretty choke with being sold a 4matic that I love to drive but finding out the tires sold are not the right ones for our climate..
I custom ordered a 2017 GLC and purchased it last summer. Initially we loved the car but there are certain issues that make the car dangerous in the rain and are highly irritating and ruin the driving experience of the car. The cars windshield wiper system is highly flawed. When driving in the rain, whether it is pouring or light rain, the windshield flutter very hard making driving in the rain unsafe, distracting, and highly irritating. The dealership replaced the blades twice before replacing the actual wiper arms. The problem persisted. Once it began raining more, they noticed more and more customers are bringing in their new 2017 models for the same problem. After testing their inventory, they finally advised us that it is a design flaw and there is nothing they can do unless Mercedes Benz issues a recall.I have attempted to contact Mercedes numerous times, but they are unresponsive. I have no idea what to do now. It is very distracting and dangerous to drive a car with wipers that stutter heavily. Finally, the car has electronic issues. Lights inside the car will go on or off on their own. The car will not lock at times. Bluetooth sometimes works, sometimes not. etc.
Hi there. Whoever is reading this is my experience. I fought with my cousin for many years, Who is better Benz or Audi? I could not take it from him saying Audi is better. But now after owning many of Mercedes I realized he was right. I have a Mercedes Metris that I bought last year for $40,000 for my company. Used it for year and putting 30k on it. Worth now $18,000. Seriously. Tires are worn already pieces inside a car. They start falling apart. Looks more like Kia or any other cheap car. Whats happening Mercedes? You cant afford competition anymore. Then stop producing this cars. We will buy 30-years-old ones. They run better and have great value. I also own 2010 ML appraised $12,300 only 70,000 miles... I am moving to any other car but you Mercedes. Bye.
I recently (Nov 2014) traded in my C-300 (2012) for the new C-300 (2015) at the London dealership. After a few weeks my daughter complained that her door (left passenger door) would not close properly. We unfortunately ignored her and continued driving the vehicle. Later in January, whilst driving with my family the rear door alarm came on, in a panic I asked my daughter to hold the door while I parked in the emergency lane. On inspection I noticed the door handle awkwardly open, even with constant pushing the door would not close!I took the car into the London dealership where the car was inspected (I also pointed out other quality concerns which I still feel have not been addressed). Later in the evening I was told, We have checked the back door and oiled the mechanism/door lock and this should fix the problem. On my further instance I was told the whole door locking system would be replaced as a precaution until then I could drive my car as it was safe to do so. Happy that qualified Mercedes Benz technical staff had given me a green light to drive without fear of safety concerns I returned home. One week after, the same incident repeated itself with my family in the car! I called the team at service adviser and informed him of the incident. I expected to hear something reassuring but was told the parts were on backorder, I will get back to you tomorrow on how we can solve this for you. As Mercedes Benz, I would expect a much higher standard of product quality and customer care, both of which are absent. Does Mercedes Benz not care about serious safety concerns on their cars? I fear not only for my safety but the safety of other families that may experience this or worse. Please live up to the promise you make to your customers.
I had a very bad experience with customer service assistant and Manager Steven. I visited the Plano Dealer for my first maintenance service. The lady assistant in the service line was not very friendly. I already mentioned I made an appointment. She didnt seem to care about what I said and asked me to call on the phone with her hands very rudely. I wasnt even feeling that bad, then I faced the adviser Mr. **. I was trying to mention a few questions about the auto control system. He didnt listen and was doing just his paperwork and ask me whats that? I had to have more this kind of conversation to get the information for the maintain service. Because this was the first time with Mercedes, the adviser did not listen to me, so I had to hear whats that? several times and spoke again. I became totally uncomfortable with the adviser. He did not even explain I had to have a loan car. When I went to pick up my car, one of my main concern, the noise, was not fixed. So I tried to explain the noise to the adviser and another guy, who was manager Steven. I didnt realize because he was standing in front of me without introduction. While I was explaining about the problem, they were talking to each other instead of listening to me. I felt I was ignored again. Finally, I asked for a manager, then the guy said, I am the manager. I was complaining how you people are rude, then he said that I was rude with stuck up face. I have been very happy with my car and the sales department people treats me with respect. On the other hand, service department people showed me very poor service and did not respect the customer at all. Even they charge the most expensive cost.
I am having a dispute with my dealers service. I had my r350 towed on a flat bed by a contracted towing service provided by Mercedes-Benz roadside assistance due to a flat tire that had recently been plugged. Luckily, the car was been driven in town at a slow speed and not at highway speeds with my children in the car!Extensive damage was caused to the under carriage and to the BlueTEC line because of this tow. I havent been with my vehicle or even an offer of a loaner vehicle, since Aug 31, 2011. Neither the dealer nor the towing company are taking any responsibility for the damage. I have finally directed the dealer to just repair the bare minimum so the vehicle may be driven.This experience has tainted my trust in Mercedes-Benz. I have every intention of disposing of both my wifes r350 BlueTEC as well as my E63 AMG. These two vehicles are my 5th and 6th purchases of Mercedes-Benz products. You can rest assured that they will be my last. If your are interested in salvaging a once loyal customer, I would be happy to discuss the details further.
I bought a Sprinter from Fletcher Jones on June 20, 2015, and many thing went wrong. First the car didnt have some accessories they said it had including CD player and tire accessories. I have picture of the car in dealership showing some accessories on it. They removed some accessories which was on the car and gave it to me as new owner while they took the car for washing. Second, the roof was leaking so bad that I couldnt use it while raining. My handicap mother and family became wet along all our belongings. I have pictures documented the rain from roof falling down. Roadside assistant didnt come to help, they even couldnt find cars owner name.On July 20, 2015, I took the car to the dealer and they said they even dont repair it there and I have to take it to Temecula. Finally, they accepted to repair the car problem after many hours of wasting my time. On July 22, 2015, I went to take the car back. Instead of handing me car repair report and apologies for the problem, they handed me a bill for registration that I have to pay and they claimed they forgot to bill me. DMV record shows they took registration fee which had been paid by last owner or dealer, which they said the last owner paid already and manipulated the document and started charging me for the same fees. Document and DMV record for my car shows that it dated the same day I took the car back and complained about leaking problem.After all, Scott, Customer Service Manager, confirmed multiple times that they will pay registration fees and they did not. I emailed DMV and they confirmed they received money but never sent me the tag. I have the email document. When I did not receive the tag not for 2015 and not for 2016, I went to DMV office in Santa Ana and I found out they paid and then they took the money back. Now I have to pay even penalties. The car even missing last years tag. I am wondering how and who in DMV office in Placentia, industrial branch 619, is supporting them to manipulate the documents.Fletcher Jones Dealers sale, service and customer service team are not reliable and trustworthy at all. They also said my car has car wash service, later they denied it. They lied in multiple occasion and manipulated customer multiple times. If they are big dealer, we have big country and someone has to stop them ripping off clients time, money and energy. They lie when they are selling, they lie and try to trick when they are writing the contract. Make sure read the contract word by word because they change it and ask you to sign. Sale manager is rude and manipulative. Dont go there and never trust what they say, they lie.
Sporty, stylish, and great performance... I love the Mercedes C300. Disappointments - interior is stylish but feels plastic-y and cheap. The seats aren’t real leather and they eventually crack.
I bought this car in Dec-2016. From day-1, I could hear a screeching sound when applying the brake. When I reported, I was told that it is because its a new car and after few days it would stop. But I observed that this sound was not reducing at all and hence I took the car to the agency. I was told that they did some adjustments and the sound should cease now. I observed the same and one more agency visit did not resolve this issue. I have done annual maintenance/servicing in Dec-2017 & Dec-2018. Both the times I raised this issue but was never resolved.After each servicing, I used to get a Customer Servicing Feedback form where I raised this issue - but again it was ignored and never got any reply. In fact the mail I am forwarding now is a proof of me completing the survey this Dec-2018. Can I request someone in Mercedes-Benz to address my issue. When I decided to buy a Mercedes-Benz (after evaluating against Audi & BMW) I was 100% sure that I will not face any technical issues. But alas, here I am struggling to get some in Mercedes-Benz to address my concern. Can I expect a response?
I recently purchased a 2016 GLC300 and am appalled by the Navigation System. The GPS gives a one mile prompt when giving turn instructions. I was in the left lane of a 4 lane highway and heard the prompt prepare to turn right... no distance stated... no arrow on GPS screen to show mileage before turn. The prompt is ONE MILE from the turn. I was almost in an accident trying to get from the left lane to the right exit. If anyone uses a GPS on your cell phone you know there is an arrow with mileage stated for your next turn. The GPS on the Mercedes does not have this so you have no idea when your next turn is coming. Then the next prompt is 1/4 mile from the turn. Way TOO little notice for safe driving.Its embarrassing to be driving an expensive car with your cell phone in the cup holder utilizing another navigation system because the Mercedes is SO INADEQUATE. If Mercedes wants to market to younger drivers, they have to catch up with technology. Oh... and another thing... my home address isnt in the GPS system. I was told the system is only updated every year to year and a half. Again... a cell phone Navi system is updated to the minute. Get with the 21st century, Mercedes!
If I could give no stars - I would. I bought a used SLK (2 years old) with the usual approved mercedes talk that went with it and at the check list showing what work had been carried out before I took delivery. The salesman told me that it was one owner. Turned out to be two when the log book arrived. Mercedes are washing their hands of this lie as the sales man has now left, although I did tackle him before he left and he was looking into it.The tyres were delivered with the check list showing 6mm. 5 months and a puncture later they were 2mm. Again Mercedes have no interest as the tyres are still legal and are not taking any responsibility for my tyres evaporating. I have done 1000 miles in this time. No way on earth have they used 4mm tread, but Mercedes wont budge. They are legal and thats it. I had a wheel taken off and it had to be hit with a hammer to move it. The mechanic recommended I had them greased during my next service, but on the check list it is showing that they had been removed and greased.The car now sticks in a low gear when travelling in slow traffic. Its been back to Mercedes twice. They havent found a fault and apparently no fault is showing on the computer but they have done 200 miles in my car to check it and the last time was delivered back to me covered in mud. I am 4 miles away from the service centre. They have offered to pay for me to have it cleaned (take to a car wash effectively). This is the worst service I have had from anyone anywhere. Mercedes customer service are just weird with their random phone calls that last about an hour but resolve nothing. They dont care about their customers and that it pretty much it. Ive told them that what they need to say is Im very sorry that you are unhappy and we will make sure that your queries are responded to and explained. Rather than their very defensive attitude of the car is legal, the salesman has left - what happened to the customer is king. I will never buy another car from them. Id rather take a bus.
I have a 2011 amg c63 mercedez with very low miles. I hardly drive the car and is always in the garage. The paint has massive chips in the hood from small rocks on the roads. I have an old BMW that has over 169 k miles and barely has rock chips. This car paint is crap for the amount of money I paid for it. I bought this car brand new.
I bought a certified Mercedes E350 at a Mercedes dealership in NJ in 2016. This vehicle was bought at night. I was given the vehicle to take home and since it was certified with a full warranty, I felt confident that the vehicle was in great condition with no issues. After all, the certified warranty has requirements the vehicle must meet before it can be certified. My vehicle must have been the exception. There was a long list of issues which made it apparent that this vehicle shouldnt have been certified. I was lied to about the vehicle being in an accident, bad brakes, squeaky steering, broken remote, deep 18 inch long gouges in the windshield and rear glass, many other things and, the focus of this story, the TeleAid was intermittently inoperable. Some of these issues were fixed by me having to get them to pick up the car and take it the car back to the dealership for repair. Some issues were created by them driving it. Once I received my car back with bent wheels which were the result of potholes near the dealership. The dealer brought it back anyway, I had to get them to come get it so they could fix the wheels. They fixed the wheels, but 6 months later, the finish of the wheels was faulty. They blamed it on me saying the other side of the car were the wheels they had fixed and the other wheels had to be something I did. My car but they know more than me about it. Even now, 5 years after purchase, it still has issues that the dealer never fixed. One issue is the TeleAid system is inoperable much of the time as I mentioned above. This is the system that costs $600 per year for the subscription and does basically the same thing as OnStar but for twice the cost. I brought this in to the Mercedes dealer where I purchased it numerous times while still under the certified warranty for the TeleAid to be repaired. Every time I was told they couldnt find the issue. This left me without the option to use the system for safety and convenience due to its unreliability. Now 5 years later, I had to bring my car to the Mercedes dealer, a different Mercedes dealer, for the airbag recall among other things. The mechanic runs a short scan and finds the TeleAid issue on the first day its there. The antenna has been the issue all this time since it was first purchased. Will Mercedes own the issue since it shouldnt have been there when I bought the Certified vehicle in the first place? NO. Will Mercedes honor the original warranty since the issue was brought to their attention while the car was covered by the certified warranty? NO. Even though it was brought to the Mercedes dealer for this issue at least 4 times within the first year I owned the vehicle? NO. Even though I have documentation from the dealership showing I told them about the problem and they didnt fix it, documentation from the time it was covered? NO. Even though the corporate customer service representative told me at the time to document the TeleAid issue so that if its figured out when the warranty is expired, they will know it was an issue under the warranty and they will fix it for free? NO. What does Mercedes wonderful customer service department say? Not the dealership but the Mercedes main customer service, the ones who are supposed to help when the dealer doesnt? They said, Well, the representative who said that doesnt work here anymore. They said they would give me a sales incentive to buy another Mercedes, but they will not take financial responsibility for the issue because its not under warranty. They said this repeatedly like they were reading a script. They are actually under the impression that a customer could be treated this poorly and then, because of a nondescript sales incentive, the customer will forget their entire frustrating experience and buy another Mercedes. I was under the belief that Mercedes was a company known for excellence in customer service. I found they would rather lose a customer than pay to fix a vehicle issue that should have never been there when the car was sold. The best part of Mercedes being willing to lose a customer is that the issue would only cost $240.00 to fix. In my opinion, what the dealer does is puts a certified warranty on the car, which they pay for. Then they leave to problems for the customer to find, bring the car back in, and then charge the warranty company for the repairs they perform. That is exactly what happened with me. So, in closing, I have lost almost all respect for Mercedes as a company. With the exception of a few dealership employees, the company is horrible to deal with. They refuse to do the right thing by their customers. The only reason for the 2 star rating instead of a 1 star rating is my experience with one service manager. He deserves 5 stars and a raise, the rest of this company was a waste of my money and many hours of my time in trying to resolve issues that should have never existed. If this saves one person from blindly buying a certified Mercedes, Ill be happy. Dont trust the image, its not accurate.
My 2006 Mercedes Benz R350 has the gear not shifting. I looked at it, the gear position is moving R-N-D but the car does not move so I towed my car to MB dealership near my house Keyes European at Van Nuys to check and make sure. So I met Karin **, Service Adviser. After she had check, she said I needed to change transmission and it might cost me $7,100. After that, I tried to call MB customer service MB USA 1-800-367-6372. Mr. Justine said he will find out what is going on with my car and he promised he will call me back with 24-48 hours. Since that day, I didnt get any answer from him due to holidays and time difference. When I bought this car, I was looking for elegance, trusted and safe. As Mercedes Benz has good brand name, when I bought this car I almost paid all of my savings from many years of saving and I always think that car will be good with no problem. I thought MB has always good service with care because of the price value that I will get from MB.
I have a 2009 Smart car and the paint top clear coat is peeling off all over the car. If you google this issue, you will see that many of the Smart cars have paint issues, especially the red ones (which mine is). I called the Smart headquarters and I was instructed to apply for the Goodwill out of warranty process. I went ahead and got the estimate from their approved Auto shop and submitted that. I received a call today from Adam from the Mercedes-Benz headquarters and my request to have the car painted was denied. I saved for 3 years to purchase that car new. It now looks terrible and Mercedes-Benz has to know that this is an issue with their Smart cars. So, now I ride around in a crappy looking car. When people ask me how I like my Smart car, I take them for a walk around my car and then inform them that Mercedes-Benz will not back this issue up. I am very disappointed with their customer service. You would think that it would make more sense for them to fix the problem, versus me riding around in a crappy looking Smart car. Clearly, they dont care about their customers and keeping them happy. I would never recommend any Mercedes-Benz dealership. I should have bought a Subaru based on their excellent customer service.
At 2AM after being off for nearly 10 hours, the passenger seat of my 2007 GL450 caught on fire in my garage, nearly catching the house on fire and killing my dogs who were in the garage with the car. I reported this to Mercedes (MBUSA) and asked that they inspect the car because this was clearly a defect. The internet is littered with stories/complaints of GL450 seats catching on fire (Google GL450 fire). They said they would inspect it. After much prying, they never did an inspection. A friend with a GL450 called Mercedes to ask about these events that are on the internet that I had forwarded to her. They told her that no one had ever submitted a formal complaint on this, that they had never heard of that and she should not worry. This companys disregard for the lives of the people that buy their vehicles is appalling. You buy these cars because you think they are safe, yet when the company has been contacted on numerous occasions about a defect that has the potential to kill people, the company does nothing to fix the problem and lies to customers saying they have never heard of a GL450 catching on fire. Its as if they dont think we can search for things on the internet. I will never trust Mercedes again. I cannot believe they knowingly leave these cars on the road with seat heater defects that are literally like bombs going off when the car is unattended in a garage. This company has no respect for human life.
We have owned our Mercedes C230 since we bought it new in 2007. The Mercedes has outlasted our BMW 325i and our Toyota Tundra. The car still drives like new. Of course we have had regular maintenance performed regularly, just like we did on the previous mentioned vehicles. As of today, everything on the Mercedes is working properly. Unfortunately we can not say the same about the BMW or Toyota. Don’t get me wrong, the BMW and Toyota still had strong engines, it was the many little thing that went wrong. I would strongly recommend the Mercedes. We have purchased an E class Mercedes and are confident it will be as great as our still C230.
