Mazda RX-8 repairs and service

Mazda Motor Corporation is a Japanese multinational automaker based in Fuchū, Hiroshima, Japan. In 2015, Mazda produced 1.5 million vehicles for global sales, the majority of which were produced in the company's Japanese plants, with the remainder coming from a variety of other plants worldwide.

A unique sports car in many ways, the RX-8 is a two-plus-two with half-doors for easier access to the rear seats and a rotary engine underhood. Though the rotary could use more power, its light weight endows the RX-8 with a near perfect balance and brilliant transient response. Unfortunately, it guzzles both fuel and oil.

I took my Mazda SUV for repair. The problem was the wheel bearing and the price to repair was $750.00 plus $135.00 for diagnostic totaling $885.82. I told the sales person, "if you forgo the $135.00, I will have you fix it." To my surprise, she said no so I paid the $135.00 and left with my car. She did not only lose a job but she also lost a customer as well. This is not good customer service...

I purchased my 2013 Mazda 2 from Daytona Mazda Mitsubishi back in November of 2015. I registered the vehicle with Mazda USA online since I live in Tennessee and the car was delivered to me by the dealership. I have been having significant issues with the steering and saw that there was a recall sent out by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration back in 2016. I have sent the dealership and Mazda several emails over two years. They have chosen to ignore.

I received a SSPA9 (Special Service Program) notice (gap between a instrument panel and information display) on October 2017. I called my local dealer (Scott Mazda of Allentown) three times and last call being on Feb.6 2018 and each time I was told that the parts are on backorder. I since forgot about it until today because I had to bring the car in for another common problem that a RECALL should be issued for (flickering lights while breaking) and asked about it again, but unfortunately I was informed that the SSPA9 has expired. I called Mazda customer service and was told that I should've brought the car to the dealer and gotten a work order to prove that I had the problem!. I wish someone had told me that the last time I called (Feb. 6 2018). Seems to me like a very convenient way to avoid paying for the repair!!!.

I own a Mazda CX7. I received the Mazda notice concerning the timing chain quite a few months back. I actually went to have the car checked due to the notice, and I found that there was a problem with mine. This is no lie, what I am about to tell you. On the way back from the shop, my timing chain broke! This caused an enormous amount of damage, and thereby I have incurred a huge bill to have this fixed. I contacted Mazda Corp and explained that I had no way to indicate that I have had all the oil changes done due to the fact that my husband changes our oil on all our cars. They said to me that I have no recourse and there are no loopholes for my situation. They will not honor the situation.I am extremely disappointed in the service and the behavior of Mazda Corp. I have recently learned that others have experienced this same problem. Even though Mazda knew that there was a problem and thereby sent the notice in the first place, they are still unwilling to fix the problem or take care of the monetary damages. I am asking everyone who reads this and has had a problem with Mazda concerning this situation to contact me because I am going to file a Civil Suit against Mazda, but we must join forces in order to do this. Thank you.

Mazda CX-7 2011: In June of 2014 I lost my first turbo, at 54,000 miles. After having the turbo replace it turned out that my fuel pump was also bad, had that replaced. In July of 2015 a weird noise began coming from the area of my turbo. Brought it to the Mazda dealership and was told it was probably a wrist pin. Brought my car to another dealership and it turned out a few bolts between the turbo and manifold had broke and the gap was causing the whistling noise. Had to pay for bolt replacement out of pocket (over $1000 because they also insisted on replacing the seals on the turbo). November of 2015 my second Turbo went. I was over the Warrantied mileage and warranty was denied. The turbo warranty from previous installation had also expired after 12 months. Replaced turbo at my own expense. January of 2016 the car flashed a check engine and oil light. Pulled over and immediately shut the car down. After having the car towed to a repair place it was discovered that the crankshaft bearing had gone bad and destroyed the motor. I basically have a worthless car with only 67 thousand miles on it.

I bought a new MX on Jan 16, 2016. I already owned a 2004 MX5 that I bought new in 2002. When I bought my new car I asked if I qualified for the $500 loyalty incentive, which they assured me I did. During closing they did not have it included. The closer said it was an oversight and the sales mgr would take care of it. After the close, the sales mgr had me fill out paperwork and submit a copy of my 2002 car's current registration. He said it would take about 3 weeks to process. It has now been 3 months and I still have not received the $500. I have called the Mazda customer care # several times, and I have contacted the dealership several times. They say they are looking into it but they do not return my calls or email. I think 3 months is more than enough time to resolve this. I'm very unhappy with both the dealership (Auto Barn, Chicago, IL) and Mazda USA for not delivering on their promise.

I bought a CX7 8 days ago and it's sitting in the shop. I was stuck with a friend 2 inches from traffic and 4 inches from running off the road. The shop that I was able to tow the car to says the engine was switched out. And nothing noted on Carfax. Also I HAVE NOT MADE MY FIRST PAYMENT ON THIS "CAR". I WISH I COULD RATE THIS CAR A NEGATIVE BUT CAN'T BY THIS SYSTEM.

I recently bought a Mazda CX-5 (2 months ago). At the time of purchase I had only a couple of criteria but they were very important to me since I put A LOT of mileage on my cars. (My last car was a 2007 and it had 380,000 km on it when I finally decided to buy a new car.) My criteria: The car needed to have XM/Sirius availability, a bluetooth that enabled true hands free use of my cell phone calls and an easy to use, straightforward navigation system. I was told the CX 5 I was purchasing had all three… WHAT A LIE!!!I paid an extra $1300 for the "tech package" to be installed into the car that would supposedly allow all three of above criteria. Immediately it was evident that something was wrong with the navigation (or so I thought). It took no less than 7 step to input any address into it. It was impossible to use on the fly and required not only pulling over to input info BUT it demanded 6 more levels of information before it would give me directions! I'm serious. After returning to Budds' dealership to attempt to gain further insight on how to correct this issue it became evident that NONE of the salespeople knew how to operate it! NONE! Not even the sales manager. We had to contact the Navigation system manufacturers in the state to find out what the problem was. Turns out, there was no problem. That was the crappy-ass cheap nav system that Mazda had ordered for their 2016 CX line of cars!!! Oh - by the way, the voice recognition is non-existent. Now I am back to driving around having to rely on my iPhone Google Maps to direct me on my travels. Nice to know Mazda has our backs (tongue firmly planted in check) helping its customers abide by the hands free driving rules now strictly in place in Canada and the US. There is no excuse for this type of 20th century technology in today's 21st century, seriously?? The XM was a joke, it does not actually show up on the in-dash display. It is provided exclusively by a tiny little remote that has push buttons. No scrolling capability, no visual feedback about what station you are on or listening to, unbelievable. By the way, I had the tech package removed and requested my $1300 back. My Bluetooth is another matter, cuts in and out on a regular basis. I have to reconnect my phone and the car's bluetooth at least 4 times a month. Again, as with the nav system, the voice recognition is non-existent.I HATE THIS CAR. $40,000 and 7 yrs of car payments for the privilege of driving a car with no nav system, XM/Sirius or bluetooth capability. So basically I am back driving around having to use my iPhone for cell calls and google maps. One more thing, the gas mileage sucks, the tank is the size of a football. I am filling up every second or third day AND it sounds like a diesel engine when you first start it up. I thought something was wrong with the muffler when I first started driving it. Turns out the loud engine and exhaust noise is the result of the "skyactiv technology" they use, another huge marketing BS story they try to sell you about why Mazda is so advanced. Did I mention HOW MUCH I HATE THIS CAR??

Mazda should stand behind their products. I own a 2001 Mazda Tribute and have had multiple problems with it. I have spent thousands of dollars trying to keep it running. I really think hundreds of Tribute owners who have had trouble with their SUVs should file suit. I drive carefully and take really good care of my cars and I still have all of these problems. This is my first and last Mazda. Here is a list of current and past problems: car door handle broken, coils replaced, transmission problems, radiator replaced (it split open), fuel modulator replaced, CV joints problem, rear hatch doesn't lock, interior linings coming off/ash tray and cup holders broken, and exhaust leaks/catalytic converter.

AIRBAG DEPLOYED ON MY 2001 MAZDA MPV - In May of 2014, the airbag on the passenger side front seat deployed while I was sitting at gas-n-go after pumping gas. My daughter was sitting in the seat. It cause deep bruising to her back and cracked her rib. Now I'm afraid to drive it!
