Kia Niro EV leak repairs
Kia Corporation, commonly known as Kia is a South Korean multinational automobile manufacturer headquartered in Seoul, South Korea. It is South Korea's second largest automobile manufacturer after Hyundai Motor Company, with sales of over 2.8 million vehicles in 2019.
The 2022 Kia Niro EV is an all-electric variant of the Kia Niro, offering zero-emission driving with impressive range and a range of features tailored for electric vehicle (EV) enthusiasts. Here are some of the key features of the 2022 Kia Niro EV:
Electric Powertrain: The Niro EV is powered solely by an electric motor and a large battery pack, providing smooth, quiet, and zero-emission driving experience.
Long Electric Range: The Niro EV offers an impressive all-electric driving range on a single charge, which can vary depending on factors such as driving habits, temperature, and terrain. Kia has continuously improved the range of its EVs, so specific range figures for the 2022 model may vary. However, previous versions of the Niro EV offered ranges upwards of 200 miles (EPA estimate).
Fast Charging Capability: The Niro EV supports fast charging at compatible charging stations, enabling rapid charging speeds and convenient charging on the go. With fast charging, the Niro EV can replenish its battery to a significant level in a short amount of time, making long-distance travel more practical.
Regenerative Braking: Like many electric vehicles, the Niro EV features regenerative braking technology, which helps to maximize efficiency by capturing energy during braking and converting it back into usable electricity to recharge the battery.
Technology and Infotainment: The Niro EV comes equipped with a range of technology features to enhance connectivity and convenience. This includes an available 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, allowing seamless integration with smartphones for access to navigation, music, and other apps.
Safety Features: Kia prioritizes safety, and the Niro EV comes standard with a suite of advanced safety features. This may include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and more. Higher trim levels may offer additional safety features such as blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
Comfortable Interior: The Niro EV offers a comfortable and well-appointed interior with seating for up to five passengers. Depending on the trim level and options chosen, features may include available heated and ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a power-adjustable driver's seat.
Spacious Cargo Area: Despite its electric powertrain, the Niro EV provides a spacious cargo area with ample cargo capacity for luggage, groceries, and other items, making it practical for everyday use and road trips.
Available Trim Levels: The 2022 Kia Niro EV may be available in multiple trim levels, allowing buyers to choose the features and amenities that best suit their preferences and budget. Common trim levels may include LX, EX, and EX Premium.
Overall, the 2022 Kia Niro EV offers a compelling combination of long-range electric driving, advanced technology, safety features, and practicality, making it a popular choice for those seeking an eco-friendly and versatile electric vehicle.

Product Reviews:
In August 2010, I bought a Sorento and a Cadenza, the former was for my wife. On July 3, my wife got involved in a car accident and the insurance company of the other driver is paying up for the damages (he was at fault). I drove the car to the Kia official garage in Salwa on the same day (after completing all formalities). The car suffered damage to both doors on the right and all side airbags opened, plus the driver's seat belt damaged. Well, it is September 13th and the car is still at the garage. Every time I call, they are still ordering parts. Either they are lying or they are totally incompetent. I talked to the manager yesterday. He was very apologetic and said he will call the repair center and come back to me immediately. I am still waiting. The car has clicked 9000km and should have been replaced as it is brand new. I am now planning to get rid of both cars and buy something different (the cars are good but the service is shameful).Taha of Doha, Other

Updated on 12/16/2019: Original Consumer Affairs complaint was filed 12/05/19. Their solution: They contacted the dealer that the body shop making the repairs is receiving the part from a wholesale part company. They yet again after 2 missed dates of which they claim the part would have arrived in which never happened. Now they claim they contacted the dealer with a new date of December 23rd 2019. Best part of it, They won't provide a rental (which most dealers have loaners) and also declined reimbursing the portion of the cost due to them not having the part available for my vehicle nor any other similar make/year. So because they can't provide it or don't have it customers like us need to wait and suffer. Why because as the customer escalations specialist described ''unfortunately they are coming from overseas, he did tell me that it has been put on an emergency status. We will not offer reimbursement or a rental at this time because you are outside of warranty and you are having the repairs done at a 3rd party. I do apologize.'' Not only have I not had the vehicle mind you (still financed) for 3 months now while paying for a rental right before Christmas but the only solution they could provide was calling the dealer for a proposed new date of arrival. But me as a customer need to jump threw hoops and submit claims both here and on social media and BBB just to get someone to pick up the phone.I have 4 children and with more than $900 worth of rental costs + deductible + an open ended date of when a part will come in with the only solution being a new date of arrival, and sorry that all we can offer is ridiculous. As the Regional manager said ''I am a regional manager, I would be the one you would pursue this. Unfortunately, we are not offering that. I will follow up with that dealer to make sure they get the part.''Original Review: Be-careful buying a KIA. I thought I was being smart by buying a KIA which normally I'd go for Dodge or Chevy! For 3 months my 2016 Kia Sedona has been in a shop waiting for KIA to actually provide or shall I say Manufacture a part in South Korea. Meanwhile I am paying for a rental. Corporate customer service couldn't help much. I was told the part needs to be ordered within the dealer, and the district manager needs to request it from Kia in South Korea to have it made. It's a damn wire harness. 3 Months with No ETA is unacceptable! I cant believe the manufacturer of the vehicle can't produce the part # 91112-A9370. I am willing to trade in the damn vehicle and NEVER BUY KIA AGAIN! I bought the car to last on the road for my family, not to last parked at the shop! Ridiculous.Carlos of Bayville, NJ

I think Kia has a problem with their rear end 2008 Kia Sorento. My car makes a lot of noise when driving, I had the rear end fluid change. Keep in mind that the Power Train Warranty is for 100,000 miles. I just have 43,000 miles on my vehicle. They said because I can not find the proof of having it changed, it's my fault and I would have to pay out of pocket to get it fixed. I read online that a lot of customers have the same problems with Kia Motors.Keith of New Orleans , LA

Have a problem with the radio and uvo on my 2012 Sorento. Have 36,000 miles on it and they said, it is no longer covered under warranty. Not even the extended warranty I purchased, at the time I purchased vehicle. Man was I ripped off. Be careful when and if you purchase a Kia! For myself, it's the last Kia I will ever own, and this latest incident has motivated me to get rid of this asap.Verne of Nashville, TN

We bought our Kia used, (we weren't told it was used at the time we bought it, we noticed it was used after we had bought it and got in it - as we didn't test drive this particular one). In any event, the warranty covered the electrical parts up to 12,000. At about 11,000 miles, I was driving down the highway and was told that break lights weren't working. We had head light issues and just thought it was a the bulbs, but both break lights went out, then pulled into the parking deck and notice no running light and no head lights except for brakes. We had to get towed back to the dealership and they replaced all the bulbs saying they were burned out. By the time the lights went out again, it was out of warranty. Every month or so, a bulb will go out - a head light, a break light. Then we noticed when you hit the back of the break light, the lights will flicker on and off, so the bulbs weren't actually burned out. Then we began to notice the electrical seats were burned out. And then the lights where the manual transmission gear stick was burned out. Then the license plate lights. And now, for the first time a new electrical issue surfaced in the electric side mirrors, they will no longer work. We noticed many burn marks within the electrical components. We are certain KIA was aware of the electrical issue when we brought the car in under its warranty period, but they refused to address and simply replaced the bulbs and said sometimes things like this happen. We have been stopped by police for headlights being out, brake lights not working and license plate light out. While I love my KIA Sorento and mechanically it has been a reliable vehicle, the electrical issues have been dismal, costly, and unsafe.Susan of Canton, GA

I have had issues with my transmission grinding in my 2008 Kia spectra LX, the transmission is a five speed manual. The transmission grinds while shifting in first and second. I had first brought the vehicle in for the issue in late 2010 with about 35,000 miles on the vehicle. They found nothing wrong. The issue persisted and has continued to get worse and now the vehicle is out of warranty. This vehicle has been to the local dealership 6 times and nothing can be found wrong. Independent repair facilities diagnosed the problem and recommended that Kia fix it under its warranty. Oddly enough, after the warranty expired and had taken it in for the last time, it needed a new transmission and the Kia dealership suggested it be replaced. The frustrating thing is that I was a master certified technician before I became disabled and know exactly what is wrong with the vehicle and continued to get the run around until the warranty expired.Jayson of Rio Rancho, NM

This vehicle has had over 20 major repairs and/or factory recalls in less than 60k miles at over $20,000.00 at retail. The problems are still there and they refused to resolve the issues during the last year of the warranty. I hired a lawyer and was paid for my "inconveniences" along with a promise in writing to repair the issues. I took it to a dealer and the factory Kia Service rep refused to inspect the vehicle. Paul ** is the National service manager and a pathological liar. This vehicle (and many other Kias) were given the lowest rating ever by J.D. Power and associates. In other words, they make very poor vehicles, using the cheapest of materials, and refuse to honor the written warranty. I am forwarding a substantial file to senior executive managers shortly to ensure that they are aware of the policy practices of staff like Paul, who is orchestrating fraud, with intent. This will also ensure the company cannot claim ignorance of the behavior of a "rogue employee". It is clear this company is committing fraud on a massive scale and is well aware of this. Interestingly, Hyundai behaved in the same fashion, about 15/20 years ago, and were almost bankrupt as a result of consumer backlash. All the execs and directors were eventually fired. It is time for the same to happen to Kia execs. Hyundai owns the majority of Kia shares. It should be noted that Kia recalled 146,000 vehicles last years for airbags which did not work. My vehicle eventually got a similar recall (not included in the large recall). Kia and its dealers were aware of the airbag issues but refused to act upon it until they were forced to do so. In other words, they are responsible for possible deaths and/or serious injury to many people who trusted this company to behave ethically. They do not. They were aware of the airbag issues years before the recall was forced upon them. We need to start a large program to warn the world of this company's willingness to defraud and to injure without concern. If everyone starts talking on social media about the phony warranty and the inherent problems of all Kias - we will bring them to their knees - where they belong.Robert of Sumas, WA

I hate your pornographic commercials. Have you no shame? Do you not know that young children are watching television? It's offensive, degrading to women and just adds to all the other garbage that is on TV. You must be pretty desperate and feel like your product can't sell itself, resorting to such offensive tactics. I will never consider buying a Kia or Hyundai, just the name alone conjures up negativity in my mind!Lisa of Burlington, NC

The buying process of my 2016 Kia Sorento was great! I bought at Ourisman Kia of Chantilly in VA. I bought a brand new vehicle despite the fact that I absolutely LOVED my paid off 2002 Chevy Tahoe. It was giving me a lot of maintenance issues so I hesitantly said "I'll buy new and save on repairs". All was great up until 5 months of having the car. It shut off on me twice out of nowhere. Both at red lights. I took it in for the scheduled oil change and so that this issue could be taken care of as well. The first response was "We can't seem to find the issue. Would you like to take it home or leave it." Well of course I chose to leave it. A week went by no word other than they had to wait to get something back from Kia. After a month of being in a rental the matter was resolved. They had to replace the intake manifold (yes on a brand new car). 8 months later the car was acting up again. It would not accelerate and made a terrible noise along with rough idling. I took it in twice both times the dealer could not "duplicate" the problem so they couldn't do anything and I had to pick up or be charged for the loaner. All oil changes had been up to date via this same service shop. The car failed on me again a third time, I had it towed and after emails and text to the GM and service manager they were able to duplicate the issue. The ECM was then replaced (the car is a little over a yr at this point). I stressed again and again that I did not feel safe in this car. I am a single mother of 4 and work my butt off for a reliable vehicle and this vehicle was not it! I questioned if I had not been sold a lemon and that issue needed to be addressed. However both the GM and SM assured all was well now. I went on a 3 wk road trip right after this last visit at the end of June. Thankfully I made it problem free on my trip. But on my way home from NC on 7/24 the car overheated with no warning indications whatsoever. I was able to pull over to the shoulder before it just cut off on me. It was towed yet again (not even a month later) to the nearest dealer in NC. They have no idea why it overheated. Why so much work has needed to be done to such a new vehicle and informed me that the motor will probably need to be replaced. WHAT!!! I am so sick of this car and the dealer not caring at all that it was faulty from the start. I will be taking this up with an attorney and recommend not to buy KIA. I have been covered by its good warranty yes but that doesn't cover the safety of my kids or I. As far as the mechanics of the vehicle and the customer service when problem arise this purchase was not worth it!!Nati of Woodbridge, VA
