Check Engine Light
One of the most common car issues people experience is the dreadful Check Engine Light. Since there are over 200 possible warning codes, when this light comes on, we recommend having a professional mechanic complete a warning light inspection. Flat Tire
Although it is common for a tire to deflate over time, most tires become flat after being punctured by an object such as a nail. Most punctures can be fixed with a tire repair kit or patch, but large punctures or slashes generally warrant a tire replacement. However, it’s also possible for simple wear and tear to be the main cause of a flat tire. To help extend the lifespan of your tires, be sure to keep them properly rotated. We recommend that you rotate your tires every 5,000 miles (or every time you get an engine oil change) to help prevent unnecessary tire wear and tear.
Worn Brake Pads or Squeaky Brakes
If you ever hear a squeaking or high-pitched squealing sound coming from your brakes, it is likely that your brake pads are either dirty and need to be cleaned or worn down and need to be replaced. But don’t be alarmed, this is a pretty common car issue especially with older vehicles. The brake system is intended to wear out over time with use – some quicker than others depending on how often they are used. Given your vehicle’s brakes are vital to ensure you can safely stop, if you notice any symptoms of worn brake pads, like squealing, squeaking, or a soft brake pedal, you should have it inspected by a professional mechanic as soon as possible for brake repairs if needed.
Shaky Steering Wheel
If you are experiencing a shaky steering wheel, there are several things that can be causing this issue. If it only happens right after starting your car and beginning to drive, you are likely looking damaged at wheel bearings or damaged suspension components. If it is happening when you reach higher speeds, it is likely a tire/wheel balance issue. Regardless, if you are experiencing a shaky steering wheel, we recommend having a professional mechanic inspect the vehicle to properly diagnose and repair the issue.
Broken Starter Motor
The starter motor is the device responsible for cranking your engine to initiate power. When the starting motor fails, it’s usually because the electrical solenoid has been damaged, the starter motor is simply broken, or another electrical fault occurs. Although a starter can be replaced before it breaks, it’s difficult to predict when this will happen. For that reason, if you begin to experience any symptoms of a bad starter like it sounds different than normal or is taking several cranks to start, we recommend having a mechanic inspect your car starter to help determine the problem before assuming the starter needs to be replaced.
Overheating
If you have been driving for a few years, it is pretty safe to say that you have seen someone pulled over on the side of the road with smoke coming from their engine – this is caused by overheating. Thankfully, nowadays, overheating doesn’t occur as often as you may think. In most modern cars, the cooling systems are very complex, containing multiple sensors that monitor coolant temperature, flow, and other components. However, two easy ways to further reduce the potential for overheating issues are staying on top of radiator flush services and maintenance, as well as making sure to change the water pump before it breaks.

2013 M3 6-speed manual purchased at 27,500 miles in April 2015 with transmission problems since purchase. I only have to put gas in it twice a month, but the savings over the years will soon be eaten up by a necessary total transmission replacement including master and slave cylinders, entire clutch assembly, and probably the gearbox as well. Not surprisingly, after 2 years of complaints, Mazda techs were finally able to duplicate the shifting problem (stemming from a known issue and current class action suit) on a service visit just outside of warranty, and they blamed it on user error and normal wear and tear.All the reviews youre reading are true... Mazda does not stand behind their products after purchase. Skyactiv-Gs are ridiculously frugal on gas, though! 34+ mpg in mixed driving over 72,000 miles! My issue has been overall shifting crunchiness worst in temps below 50F and failure to shift into first gear multiple times per day since day 1 no matter the weather. Just buy a Honda or Toyota...the Mazda zoom-zoom feeling wears off the moment you drive away from the dealer and the depreciation is ridiculous, so youll be stuck with it until its paid off because no one wants to work on Skyactiv-Gs except Mazda despite being nearly a decade old technology.
Please let it be known that I nor my family will EVER be buying another Mazda ever again and I will be making it very public about how Mazda “helps” their customers. I leased a 2016 Mazda CX-5 after thinking it was the best decision for my family. I am now 8 months pregnant with my second child, have had the car for less than 2 years and the display screen is glitching. I found out it needs an infotainment display screen that will cost me $1200+. This is a MANUFACTURER issue and according to dealerships a known issue with these cars. It’s nothing I did and Mazda’s response back to me was, We can cover most of it but you will still have to pay about $400. So let me get this straight. I am LEASING and planned on financing what was at the time a brand new car in which a display screen went in less than 2 years which is a manufacturer issue so I cannot check any maintenance, no radio, etc. and I’m ** out of luck with getting it fixed? Great job Mazda. NEVER AGAIN.
2006 Mazda 3 - I had increasing problems with oil burning. I first noticed the problem when my car was still under warranty and mentioned it to the mechanic who said it was normal. My car slowly using more & more oil. I would check it weekly, at 8 years old and 138000 km putting in 1 liter of oil every 7-10 days. Last week had complete engine failure. Told I need a new engine. I think that is crazy for a car of this age, with this mileage that I have been very conscientious re: maintenance, oil changes, etc. Mazda no help at all. Since this has happened just through conversation in the past 5 days, I have learned of 2 other people with the same issue. This should be a recall issue. I had the same problem with my the locks (being kicked in to access car), Mazda was very little help. Finally paid for updated door locks but would not pay for damage done to my door.
I have been having problems with the throttle (Mazda Tribute V4) which has been sticking. For over a year now, I have been looking to see if there were any recalls against them. Finally when I looked today, it was only for the V6 engine. When I called them today through corporate and service department, I asked them why not on the V4, and they couldnt give me a correct answer. If its within the year, it should be for all Mazda vehicles. I have been in so many almost accidents with this vehicle and Mazda wants to charge almost $300 for a diagnostic and cleaning the carbon out. That is ridiculous. I am a single parent trying to make ends meet in this poor economy. This is the worst vehicle I have ever bought.
I have owned a Mazda since 1983. With different models, I call their products “chick vehicles”. All you ever had to do was change the oil. I own a 2007 Mazda Tribute. The driver door wasnt put on correctly. The headlight seals have all leaked. One was replaced under warranty and one not. After the warranty was up, I was told I have an oil leak. Its the major seal and will be about $1200.00 to pull the engine and transmission to replace it. When I made a comment at Lee Johnson Kirkland dealership where I bought the car, I was told all new cars are made cheap. The best is yet to come. I almost lost my hand. The hood came down on it and actually latched. I was trapped for about an hour until I finally broke off the wiper arm and pried my hand out. Its badly smashed and I have numbness in my hand but Im thankful to have my fingers. My car also has the recall for the sticking throttle. I got the recall letter in August. Its now the middle of November and Im told theres only parts for 04 models and older. They have made modifications to unlatch and open a trunk from the inside and outside but beware, if that hood latches close, there’s no way out except the release located in the driver’s side. Seriously, 26,000. I don’t think I will purchase another product from them ever again.
I bought a new 2011 Mazda CX-9 in January 2011. A few weeks ago, the bottom of my truck caught on fire after I heard a loud noise at a red light. Fast forward to today: it seems my transfer case blew, causing my transmission to blow and therefore causing the fire. There are no previous issues with the truck, no lights signaling an issue with the truck, nothing. Mazdas response? Well, Im under warranty, so its fully covered. Great, so can one get an explanation as to why a two-year-old vehicle would just catch on fire??? Nope, nothing, not from the dealership nor Mazda. In doing research, theres a nationwide reoccurring problem with transfer cases, and even a pending class action suit. Mazdas response? Nothing. Dodge my phone calls and emails, and dont even contact back my lawyer. Its disgusting how were the very people that gave them jobs, but the moment that a family is put in harm, they could care less. Most disgusting company I have ever come across. Mazda - you should be ashamed as to how you treat the very people that give you the opportunity to make a living. Simply disgusting!!!
I own a Mazda CX7. I received the Mazda notice concerning the timing chain quite a few months back. I actually went to have the car checked due to the notice, and I found that there was a problem with mine. This is no lie, what I am about to tell you. On the way back from the shop, my timing chain broke! This caused an enormous amount of damage, and thereby I have incurred a huge bill to have this fixed. I contacted Mazda Corp and explained that I had no way to indicate that I have had all the oil changes done due to the fact that my husband changes our oil on all our cars. They said to me that I have no recourse and there are no loopholes for my situation. They will not honor the situation.I am extremely disappointed in the service and the behavior of Mazda Corp. I have recently learned that others have experienced this same problem. Even though Mazda knew that there was a problem and thereby sent the notice in the first place, they are still unwilling to fix the problem or take care of the monetary damages. I am asking everyone who reads this and has had a problem with Mazda concerning this situation to contact me because I am going to file a Civil Suit against Mazda, but we must join forces in order to do this. Thank you.
My oil cooler started to leak. The dealer told me that the problem is a gasket, but I need to buy the whole part (oil cooler). After doing some investigation on the internet, Mazda knows that this is a problem and is not doing anything about it. If I dont get this part changed by Mazda (at the very least get a discount), I will never buy a Mazda again. I really love my CX-7 but this is not the only problem I had with it. This is the one that really filled my jar.
We purchased a new Mazda 6 and were being pushed in finance to purchase an alarm system for $350. My husband asked if the car already had an alarm system from manufacturer and we were told no. My husband thought it was odd so he asked again and the answer was still no! We then decided to purchase and later realized we have 2 alarms because it already has one. On top of this our dealer quit the next day and no one told us, so we continued to try to contact him and the rest of the staff seemed bothered when we had questions. Finally I call the manager (Mike **) about several issues and he would not return my calls. On his email responses he was rude and angry and refused to help us. I waited a week to fill out the survey to see how they would correct some of these issues and then finally I filled out the form truthfully. Mike then sends me a nasty, unprofessional email saying that because we gave him a poor score he no longer wanted to work with us! We were shocked. We are very unhappy with this dealership and wish we would have purchased this vehicle in Tustin or not purchased a Mazda at all (Even though I do like the car itself!)
First, I would like to say I have been satisfied with my Mazda product. I have had my car now for 12 years and have had virtually no issues other than normal maintenance. However, my car has had several recalls, one of which came after I had already had and paid for the repair. That is where I have my problem with Mazda. The recall stated it takes 6-8 weeks to process a claim on repairs that have been recalled, o.k., I get it. I sent my recall reimbursement form and supporting documents registered mail, which was a smart move on my part, because they first tried to claim that they did not receive my recall repayment request. I told them that a representative had signed for the registered mail 4 days after I sent it. So they requested. I fax the form and supporting documents. I waited approximately 4 weeks to see what the status on my refund was. Mazda Recall Center told me they cant send a check because the repair was made with a credit payment (it was a debit card that was used for the payment on an account I had already closed). So they told me after a week later, when I called again, that they would have to get an approval to send a check. I waited 2 more weeks, called and was told that the check should be on the way 2-3 weeks. I waited 3 weeks to call back, and have now been told that it will take another 2-3 weeks to get the reimbursement. I feel as the Mazda is Hemming and Hawing with this issue for whatever reason and would like to know if anyone else has been having this type of issue with Mazda.
Mazda 5 has suspension problems - I have had shocks redone 3 times in 7 years. I am a single woman not carrying passengers all the time!! Others have the same issues - otherwise a good car. Great car all around but they are discontinuing it - maybe because of the suspension problems. Gas mileage is good if you stay below 110. :)
I was cheated by Mazda Marshals Milton Keynes. I took my Mazda RX8 to the dealership for a check just to sort out my issues with my CD player which wasnt working properly. Along with that, I told them that the car seems to consume a lot of fuel. They later called me back and to my surprise no value was added to my car, nothing was done to my CD and all previous faults still existed. I was charged $57 which they claim is for the inspection of the car. I then called Mazda customer service along with checking their website only to find out that Mazda does a free comprehensive car health check, the same check which I was charged for. To further worsen the matter, a week after the inspection I discovered my RX8 had issues with starting again whenever it is turned off. I usually have to wait five minutes before starting the car again. I have written to them repeatedly but no reply. Im currently getting legal advice concerning this.
I purchased my 2008 Mazda Tribute brand new. The first year (8 months after purchase), I noticed a sound in my car. I quickly took it to the dealer I purchased my car from. As soon as I pulled up to the dealership, the mechanic told me that it was a belt and was easy to fix at $150. He informed me that a lot of Tributes had been coming in with this issue, but not a big deal. I had it fixed. There were a few minor issues afterwards. Fast forward 2 years later, my car mysteriously would not start. I would have to catch a cab to work. When I called a mechanic to come out to take a look at my Mazda, it started (what!). This went on for about 6 months. I went on a trip to NY and once again it would not start. The dashboard cluster defaulted; cost to fix was $1000. I took it to a certified dealer and while fixing it, they informed me that I also had a transmission leak which would cost me $1500 to fix. At this time, a recall notice had been mailed and I was unaware of this issue. I needed my car being a single mother of 3; I had no choice. Fast forward to present day, 2013, about a week ago, my car started making loud noises. I took it back to the dealer I purchased my car from. Guess what! My transmission has to be replaced cost $3600 (really!) and I had to pay $100 for them to tell me that. Unfortunately, I was one of the millions hit with layoffs; no income. I called Mazda corporate and informed them that I was not aware of the recall notice sent out in 2011. The customer service rep informed me that there wasnt a recall and that I was misinformed. I informed her that I got the information off their website and from the dealership. She was not empathetic to my situation. I understand that my warranty expired. However, I feel that a recall should never expire. If you are aware that a defected part has been placed in your product, you have a responsibility to replace. I paid $17,000 for my car. With all the service issues, Im close to $7000 in repairs and towing fees - almost half the cost of the car. This is not fair to me and others, who work hard all our lives, especially when my car only has 75,000 miles and Im the only owner and now when money is nonexistent to me. Please do not purchase a Mazda. It’s a money pit.
My 2008 Mazda Cx9 went into flames while parked in front of the house. Horrible times. Had to get the kids out right next to the burning car. I had a transmission problem before, which took a lot of money and effort to repair. I was ok with it, but a car that burns while parked is something I will never accept.
On May 21, 2013, I bought a new Mazda 6 Sedan - full optional, including the Red Soul extra paint. Just few miles away, I noticed 3 spots on the front hood. The paint is extremely thin and it is difficult to see the clear coat with a magnifier lens. I brought the car to the dealer and they said it is normal to get spots because of road sand. I washed the car and one more spot appeared. Because of my firm complaints, I was able to get an appointment with an inspector from Mazda and now Im waiting to see him. Paint quality is unacceptably cheap for that car standard. Should I expect the car surface to be pitting away day by day?
I purchased a previously owned 2008 Mazda6 in October 2009. My transmission is failing; diagnosed with severe corrosion, and clutches are slipping. We have a total 86,000 miles on this car. The car was driven by two mature people. Kindly explain the failure of the transmission. If, this is typical for this car at this day and age, we need to let the public know.
I truly love my Mazda. Had leased a Mazda 6 for 3 years. Liked it so much I leased a new one for three more years when my first lease was up. Has all of the best features you could want. Comfortable and classy. Plenty of storage room in the trunk and all of the controls are easy to use and understand. Only complaint is that the controls on the levers behind the steering wheel can’t be seen in the dark.
I own 2009 Mazda 5. It has 145,000 miles on it and still runs great! I bought it in 2010 and it was the best car purchase. No problems at all. Only changing oils, tires, and breaks. We needed second car and we decided to get another Mazda, this time CX5. I think I would never buy another brand. I would absolutely recommend to a family and friends.
Bought a 2012 CX-9. First 2 years car ran great then 500 miles past warranty driver window motor goes out. Then a week later passenger window motor goes bad. Battery goes out. Car was only 2 years old. Now under recall which part needs to be replaced and both wheel bearings are going out after only 50K miles. What a POS. These parts should not be going bad this soon. Will never buy another Mazda again. Just lost my business because was going to buy another one next year.
I use to love the CX9, until they gave it an overbite. Or Duckface.. I dont know,, The front end is hideous. Im now currently Waiting till they change it to go back to Mazda. Everything else about the CX9 grand touring is amazing.
I bought a brand new 2005 Mazda RX-8. I loved the car, until about 60,000 miles later when the car started stalling, even after I brought it up to operating temperature. It took about 6 trips to two different dealerships to discover that the problem was a bad engine that would need to be replaced. I was still under warranty. However, Mazda did not want to replace the engine. They said I did not properly maintain the car. After proving that I followed maint. schedules and all oil changes at Mazda dealerships, did they replace the engine. Now my new engine is at about 80,000 miles and the same problem! I need another new engine! But because my car is over 100,000 miles, Mazda will do nothing for me. They offered me loyalty offers for owning a Mazda. They refuse to acknowledge they have a poor product and to stand behind it. Because of this I will never buy another Mazda, and I suggest the same for you.
I had an accident in my Mazda 6 on February 17, 2012. I was totally innocent as someone drove up the back of me. My car was towed to a local crash repair. They ordered replacement parts from Mazda on 27/2/12. To date, they have still not received the parts from Mazda and hence I am still without my car. I contacted the customer support area to find out what the problem was and they advised that Mazda was moving warehouses and unfortunately they couldn’t locate the parts. I rang them back today, 17-4-12, only to find that some parts will still be at least 10-14 working days away. I have been without my car for 8 weeks and will not be getting it back in the near future. Mazda definitely do not live up to their value statement.
This Mazda CX-5 had replaced one that I really enjoyed. But it does fulfill my needs but its not the type of car I would normally pick out. I like the fact that is all wheel drive. I like the pep in the engine and the gas mileage. I do like the fact that every Mazda has a GPS in it and I like the heated seats. However, the CX-5 is just a lower class model than I was used to previously. The CX-5 is a fine car but I wish that the radio system had XM or Sirius radio.
The Mazda CX 5 handles really well, especially in the winter. It is really comfortable to drive and has good fuel economy, and enough room for other people and all of their stuff. It is not too large and easy for me to handle. It was a really good deal compared to what you would pay for other cars in this price and category. However, the center console and screen is a little too small, and it is difficult to use while I am driving. You cant just glance at it and flip the channel. And I would make the seats move a little more, for someone with shorter legs it is hard to reach the pedals.
Hi - My 2010 CX7 with full Mazda service history and only 57600 miles on the clock, stopped at 60 MPH on a busy dual carriage way with my kids in the car, I could barely steer or brake it was terrifying! Luckily we managed to come to a stop only because it was a quiet time of day on school holidays or god knows what could have happened. I called Mazda to advise them as I thought they would want to know about the issue, total stone wall.I had the car towed to a garage nearby who told me the engine had seized due to it being starved of oil, the car was FULL of oil. They checked and it was a block in the sump. After doing research I realise this is a very common problem with Mazda and I cannot believe they are totally ignoring this issue, not help offered. My car was worth #7.5k now its worth nothing! Where is Mazdas duty of car to customer driving this car, why are they not making sure dealerships are checking this issue to protect people at service, what will it take, someone to be killed! I am just disgusted at their refusal to acknowledge this issue.
I had brought my car in for a check-up and oil change, and the check engine light was on. They did their check and gave me the car back but the check engine light was still on. I was told that they never reset it because I did not tell them that it was on, although they said that they checked all lights in the car. The car engine was making a noise as well, but nothing was ever said. This check-up was done just before my 160,000 km engine guarantee was up.At 162,000 km, my engine blows. I contact Mazda Canada and they say, Too bad. Your guarantee is up, and say that I missed an oil change. I heard that there are lots of cases like this and that there may be a class action lawsuit against Mazda concerning these 2.3L Mazda engines. I would appreciate information if you have any.
I have 07 Mazda 6 with 85,000 miles. I am told by my mechanic that these engines are horrible and he has seen 3 in the last month that have to be replaced. Curious how many Mazda has seen in a month? Right side control arms (front) need replacing. Price by Mazda is more than double to repair than quoted by my mechanic.At 85,000 miles, I need new tires. This will be my 3rd set. I am a soccer mom not a tire burning teenager. I will never buy another Mazda again. I’m not sure if the box is checked or not checked but I would be interested in hearing from an attorney if there is a class action suit against Mazda.
Purchased my CX9 in late 2012. Purchased the top-of-the-line touring with all the options. Got the top extended warranty and made sure I was set for 10 years. I love the car and how it drives and handles. HOWEVER, the Bluetooth stopped working properly July 2013 and Mazda spent almost a year blaming my phone (Blackberry) and my husbands iPhone. Finally, in August 2014, they admitted they have an issue with the software and it was a module issue. Mazda CANNOT fix it. They keep putting in test modules yet they refuse to provide me with respectful customer service. I said I would be their test subject and help them, no thank you for all my time and they have made the problems worse, not better. And when I asked Mazda Canada to have the engineer working on the issue call me, nothing... I asked them for compensation. Nothing... Now, I have a car where $2,500 worth of options dont work. I cant sell the car and I cant trade it in. Mazda has left me stuck with a car they cannot fix. Mazda Canada has put it back on the dealer and is even treating them with disrespect and indifference. Feeling left in a lurch! DONT BUY A MAZDA, STAY FAR AWAY....
One of things I like best about the 2009 Mazda 5 is that the side rear lights are set high up, so that people in huge SUVs etc. can see my turn signals. I also really like the rear hatch, which opens high enough that I do not bump my head!
Two years ago I had my VVT valve and timing chain replaced because of extended warranty. Now, the timing chain is making noise again and I believe the same problem has come back. The turbo has also had to be replaced. No help from Mazda.
I have a 2008 Mazda 6, 2.3 Sport with 68,000 miles on it. The engine receives regular oil changes and has never been low on oil. Recently the engine started making a knocking sound at about 2500 rpm. The sound got worse and it would appear that I need a new engine at a cost of around $6000. I dont see how this could happen on a product that is less than 4 years old that has received regular maintenance. Mazda is a joke but worse than that is the fact that I have recommended this brand to my father and friends (two of them now own one). I really dont want to invest any more money into this car but it isnt worth any money without being able to drive it.
I bought a new 2015 Mazda CX9 back in March 2015. Was a reliable vehicle up until about 3 weeks ago. After I dropped my kids off at school I heard my fan getting loud under the hood. I looked at my dashboard, no engine light, no coolant light, nothing. So I drive 1/4 mile further and see that my coolant gauge is starting to rise, I then pull over into the next neighborhood as it begins to steam from underneath my hood. I have it towed to the closest shop to where I stalled out at, and they tell me that at 77,000 miles I need a NEW ENGINE! I had 2 other opinions from different mechanics and they all stated the same. I towed it over to the Mazda dealer that I bought it from, and they have basically told me tough luck. I forwarded every service record that I had since I purchased the car. But I would have to fork out $6k for a brand new engine. I will never purchase another Mazda again, nor will I ever recommend my family and friends. In a automotive industry that is fighting to retain their customers, I wouldve thought this wouldve been a great way to earn a customer for life. If you own a Mazda beware. As I stated there was no warning, and I wasnt due for another service appt for another 2 months. Way to go Mazda!
We own a 2007 Mazda 6 and today, we again had to have the bulbs replaced one high beam and one low beam. Since we have owned this car, we have replaced the bulbs at least six times. We have discussed this with the Mazda dealer and he says that no one else has complained about the lights. We are not happy with the lights. Today, it cost us $128.81 to replace the bulbs. This is ridiculous. We have had other Mazda products and have been very happy. Please deal with this issue. Thank you.

I was in a car accident driving at 35 to 40 miles and I was in an accident. I hit the other car by the front of my car and the airbags didnt open from either side and I think thats not correct.
Recently I purchased a 2015 Mazda MX-5, color zeal red. Damn what a beautiful car!!! I saw the car for the first time about a month ago, and test drove it. On the test drive the car accelerated on its own as I rounded the corner to enter the freeway. The salesperson sitting in the passenger seat said, Whats happening? Heck if I knew. As I depressed the break pedal the car accelerated. This happened a couple to a few times within about ten seconds as I would let up on the break and then apply the break again. Finally the car was back in control. The salesperson wanted to take over the driving so I let him. No problems the short distance back to the dealership. The salesperson said the car acted weird because I was most likely me getting confused in which pedal to use test driving the car. I purchased the car. I know what youre thinking. That I was pretty stupid for buying the car based on the test drive experience. Okay, I agree. The car has about 170 miles on it and this rapid acceleration on its own has happened a total of six times. I scheduled to take the car into University Mazda (This is where I purchased the car) on Nov. 25, 2014 to see if they could figure out why the car was accelerating on its own. On my way to the dealership the car dramatically accelerated on its own as I was breaking to avoid hitting the car in front of me. In order to slow the car down I shifted into neutral. The dealership had the car for one day and their guess as why the car is accelerating on its own is because I have the drivers seat too close to the steering wheel, and that Im getting confused in what Im doing with my right foot as Im driving. Hows that for high tech diagnoses? Forget the fact that I own a truck and Prius, and have had about eighteen cars in my life time. Ive never had this same problem with rapid acceleration with any of my other cars or truck. Look, I may have been stupid to buy the car in the first place, but Im sure not going to be even more stupid to buy some cheap dime store reasoning by the dealership for why the car is accelerating on its own.
Mazda 2015 - Im wondering if anyone else is having the same issue with Mazda windshield breaking easily when hit by a rock. We only had our car for 9 months and we had our windshield replaced twice already! The first one happened twice in one week after 3 months purchasing the car. Now, it happened again after six months. The first replacement was an original Mazda windshield, now we are trying a different brand to see if it happens again. I had a Toyota Celica year 2001 for 12 years but never encounter this type of problem, so I dont think its my driving. I hope they do something about this, because according to the company that did my car the first time, they have also had plenty of repairs done for the same car. Hope this review helps!
Our daughter was in an accident with extensive front end damage. The airbags never deployed even though the radiator was pushed into the engine. The hood looks like an upside down V. The front bumper was removed and the side front wheel panels were also damaged. This was a 1999 Protege LX. Is this a defect that the bags did not deploy?
Mazda 2009 - I have had my 1st Mazda since 2010 July. Well, first time I bought a car that isnt a Toyota. I have had both head lights go out, shocks in rear done twice, tie rod end alignment done twice and tires twice. My engine would accelerate for days past 15 miles. My brakes got stuck; I couldnt get off the expressway and missed my stop. I’m still under extended warranty of which doesnt cover any of these things. I took it to 4 shops to be looked at, Goodyear, Midas and Mazda, all of which can’t find anything wrong with this ** car.
I love my 2014 Mazda 6. Biggest thing I dont like is the center console slides back and forth under my elbow. Dealer told me nothing can be done. Also sound system is nowhere as nice as my older VW Passat and I have the upgraded Bose.
I bought a 2001 Mazda Millenia in 2012. It had been owned by an elderly man and stored in a garage after each use. I paid $5500.00 for the car and at 42,000 miles I COULD NOT pass up the new looking car deal. Only a few problems so far and minor at that. With over 100,000 miles on the still awesome looking, driving and handling perfect as well as runs like a new car, I am a very happy owner. Changing the oil every 2500 miles myself and using the best oil. Its a car, treat it right and it will last. Most car companies have their problems. Look at GM, Ford and others. With the amount of Mazda on the road today, I think the problems are minor. I wish Mazda would help more people with their Mazda problems. It would be a better car company for all.
I purchased this new car in 2015 and I have had problems with the transmission. When going from reverse to drive, the car lurches forward without even putting your foot on the gas. Because of it I hit a cement wall and did $6000 damage to the front end. After several trips to the dealer they finally told me that they were aware of the problem and ordered a new part. Well it is doing it again. I park in a parking ramp and I have to maneuver to get parked. Last week the car lurched forward again and did damage to the car again. Now back to the dealer and I am sure they will once again tell me I dont know how to drive. Parking attendants have had the same issue and hit a planter when the car lurched forward. I regret the day I ever purchased this vehicle. I just do NOT want to own it anymore because it is not safe.
I have a 2000 Mazda B4000 pickup with 69k miles on it. I bought it new and have given it the very best of care. It is in pristine condition and I had planned to drive it for many more years. In the last month I have had two episodes of sudden unintended acceleration: I press the brake and instead of stopping, I accelerate. The first time, I was approaching a red light at about 35 mph. I applied the brake but the truck did not slow. I applied the brake even harder and it slowed a bit but I could tell I wouldnt stop in time. Fortunately the light changed and I went on through. It worried me, but I took it to be a fluke.The second time, I was pulling into a parking space in a strip mall. When I applied the brake, the truck rocketed forward. I slammed on the brake and was able to stop but the RPMs were so high, the drive wheel was still spinning. I flipped it into neutral and turned the key off. Had there been an obstacle, or heaven forbid, a pedestrian in front of me, the results could have been disastrous.I immediately drove it to the mechanic who has serviced it for all these years but could not demonstrate the problem so they could not offer a fix. I called the Mazda dealer and he assured me there are no recalls for this unit. I have searched the Internet and found many descriptions of sudden unintended acceleration, but none for a Mazda B4000. I love this truck and had planned to keep it for years to come. Now I am afraid to drive it. Any suggestions?
The clutch on my Mazda 6 (bought new) wore out after approximately 10,000 miles. Replaced by Mazda Main Agents, this also failed after approx. 10,000 miles. Again replaced by Mazda Main Agent, and lasted only around 10,000 miles. Regularly serviced by the same Mazda Main Agents (except just once).I am 81 years old, have held a driving license for well over 60 years. For many years did all my own servicing, maintenance and repairs. You name it and I have almost certainly had it in pieces. The exceptions being gearboxes and differentials. (Never had one of these fail). I claimed reimbursement for these repairs, but was told it was due to my riding the clutch. Rubbish! when I learned to drive back in the 1950s riding the clutch was a sin because, in those days cars were fitted with carbon (graphite) clutch thrust bearings which being soft would wear out very quickly if one rode the clutch, modern cars are fitted with tapered roller bearings or simple ball races. I never wore one out but the ingrained lesson never to ride the clutch has stayed with me ever since.A letter later from them suggested that I was accelerating away from traffic lights etc. too hard, insinuating that perhaps I was a bony racer. In my 20s, 30s and 40s this MIGHT have been the case, but in my 70s and now 80s I am long passed such behavior. I have done everything required of me prior to taking them to the small claims court, including utilizing the facilities of Mediators but they still keep coming up with silly replies. The latest being that I have the clutch examined by an authorized independent company. They also said that this would be impossible because the parts were thrown away on being removed. I am about to write to them yet again informing them that I have, together with other items, both the clutch and the scored flywheel that was replaced in my garage.Advice to everyone considering purchasing a new car, DO NOT BUY A MAZDA without checking the record of service one can expect from your Mazda main Agent. If anything fails, it would seem that they will do anything to avoid recompensing one for anything failing. My claim will be made under the Customer Rights and Protection Act, under the section stating that any purchase should be fit for purpose and last a reasonable length of time. All the time that this correspondence has been going on, (several months) the worry and stress has had very severe adverse effect on my health. They have been informed of this but apparently consider it not worth their while to make any comment on it. Hopefully, if you wish, I will come back to you and let you know the result.
As indicated in the service record when I got my first oil change, I had 3,000 miles on my 2012 Mazda 5 when I first complained to a Mazda dealer that my car would wobble when going forward into a right turn and in reverse when making a left turn. The service people said they could not recreate the problem as stated on the work order, but it would mysteriously go away for a while when I complained during multiple oil changes. Recently, at 25,000 miles, the service manager at this dealership finally told me my rotors were out of round so they were going to ground them down to make them straight. I requested they be replaced with new rotors but they said no. The dealer who sold me the car with the defective rotors said no and Mazda Headquarters said see the dealer who sold me the car.The dealer I bought the car from said its an issue of wear and he doesnt do warranty work unless hes paid by Mazda. His service mgr. said he didnt feel or see a problem during a test drive after the rotors were filed down so they refused to replace them. If it was an issue of wear, the problem would not have been occurring since I bought the car. Filing down the rotors mostly eliminated the problem, thus indicating the rotors were bad from the start. To make sure the dealer saw information about the wheels wobbling in formal complaints on paperwork from the 3,000- and 25,000-mile oil changes, I filed a complaint with the state. They sent me a notice that the dealer said it was a wear problem and they would check with Mazda Headquarters!!Now Im wondering if the State of Michigan Attorney General has the will to tackle big business. I sent them every piece of information related to the problem and I would like my rotors replaced. Anybody out there have any ideas, similar problems?
Contacted dealership where car was bought. Spoke to so called manager and I told him I was very disappointed that we needed 4 new tires at 24,500 miles, seats are very uncomfortable you would slide off of them if you didnt have a seat belt on, and inside of doors get very dirty, dont understand this, and windshield breaks easily. I told him I would not buy another Mazda or recommend one to another. He said I HOPE YOU WILL BE HAPPY WITH YOUR NEXT CAR. ROTTEN ATTITUDE NOT VERY GOOD FOR BUSINESS.
On July 25, 2015 my new 2016 CX-5 only two months old did not want to start. I checked the battery and it showed it had power but my car was as dead. I called my dealer at Lodi N.J. where I bought the car for advice and Rahsheed told me to call Mazda roadside assistance and I did. Spoke with a Mazda roadside assistant and told her what was going on with my car and she told me a flatbed tow truck will be at my location within a hour. One hour later comes the flatbed tow truck and I asked the driver if I could ride along and so I did. We get to Koeppel Mazda Queens NY. I tell the tow truck driver that I am going inside to let the manager know that we are dropping off my car. The manager Andrew ** steps outside with me and as the tow truck is backing up and bringing my new car down it scrapes and damaged my new Thule bike rack. Andrew the manager tells him to stop what he was doing and that the car needs to be lowered on the street. At this point the driver is getting frustrated and levels his flatbed truck in which he forgets to put the rear straps and chain hooks on the rear of my NEW CAR and also forgets to put my NEW Cx-5 off off of neutral and failed to put it in park and Failed to deploy the emergency parking brakes on my car. He then drives forwards, fast and slamming on his brakes causing my Brand New (Mazda CX-5 GT with Tech package) to shoot forwards and crashing into the back of his tow truck causing front end damage. Three Mazda certified workers seen the accident including the service department. Manager Andrew ** and I were all in shock on what just happened. Andrew and I took photos of the damaged SUV and Andrew told me that he would take care of the report. I advised Andrew that I don want my car back due to the loss of my resale value caused by Mazda. On 8/14/2015 I stopped by the repair shop that was fixing my car to get some things I left in the car. To my horror my car was in the back of the shop dirty with my whole SUV front end sitting on top of my cars roof, not to mention both my front windows was rolled down getting dust and dirt all over the place and not to mention there goes my new car smell and the body shop wasnt even certified Mazda repair shop. I know that when a new car rolls off the assembly line everything is calibrated, the transducer in the front of my Mazda emblem with the laser on my windshield work hand in hand so that my auto brake assist work properly. Now my new car will have a damage report on carfax that I did not cause, all Mazdas fault. Why did my new car did not want to start in the first place? It was only two months old with just 2000 miles on it. Mazda Roadside assistance contracted the tow truck company NYC Tire Auto Care Inc. The incident happened in front of multiple employees of Mazda (Manager: Andrew ** (Service department associate: Izzy ** and two others from Parts Department that will vouch what happened. I will now lose thousands of dollars on my trade in when I decide to trade inmy 2016 CX-5. I stated that I dont want my car back to every Mazda personnel I spoke with due to the fact that it was Mazdas fault. I just want a brand new CX-5 with everything I put in but sadly I am getting the runaround. Even my insurance company called in my behalf and they also getting the runaround.
Mazda paint is really soft. My 2011 Mazda cx7 paint is totaled: noise clip, hood, doors, even starting on the roof. This all started at less than 16,000 km. Now, with 30,000 km., the car looks like its 10 years old. I have fought with the dealer but they dont care (Northside Mazda Sault Ste. Marie, ON Canada, owned by the Palumbos). I have spoken to Mazda Canada customer relations and set up an appointment (which took three months) with the district manager. He pretty much said it was normal and couldnt see Mazda covering the damage. What a crock of **. If they were to cover it, it wouldnt be warranty but a goodwill gesture. But I would have to talk to Japan. Im not holding my hopes up. But if I could get just one person to not buy a Mazda from this, it would make my day. Dont buy Mazda. They dont take care of their customers. I will never buy Mazda again.
My Four door Mazda 2 Hatchback is Black. It is a nice good car with basic features nothing too fancy. It gets me from point a to point b. I just pay way too much for it because I got with the wrong dealership. It was a smaller car with gas mileage good. I do not like big cars and maneuvering those so the outside size was perfect for me. Once I had kids I did not like that it was so small and no space for car seats and strollers. You have to scoot the seats all the way up in order to fit everything and that is very inconvenient. Now I am trying to trade the car in.
My mom gave her old mazda. We had no problems with it until we were stopped at a light and the oil light came on. 30 sec later the motor seized up due to a cracked housing for the oil filter. Out of the blue the housing cracked blue oil all over the bottom of the car and seized the motor. After talking to mechanics junk yards and other people on the Internet, we found that this was a very common situation. I put in a complaint with the NATSA the ph number is 888 327 4236. The more complaints the better the chances are of us getting our cars fixed to everybody that has had this problem.
Engine Failure. My wifes car that we both really enjoyed until recently. I did a lot of research on this vehicle before we purchased it and the price was excellent with the Tech option. All was ok until a few weeks ago. Started noticing the smell of burnt oil in the cabin when we were stopped at an intersection. Came home, looked under the vehicle and didnt notice anything. This continued on each time we used it (we carpool so it doesnt get driven daily) and then eventually I noticed oil spots on our driveway. Thought it may be either dripping from the filter or the bolt so I decided to do an oil change which I noticed that there was an excessive amount of oil present on the underside of the chassis and also in the plastic shroud that must be removed to access the oil pan and filter. The bolt and filter were on tight so the oil was coming from another location.Drove the vehicle into work the following day and again the smell of burning oil (like oil that would get onto the exhaust) was present when the vehicle was running but at a stop. Parked in a spot where there were no oil spots and I went into work. Roughly 3 hours later I had a look at the vehicle and noticed a 5 round oil spot under the vehicle. Contacted the Mazda dealership and drove it in for an appointment that afternoon. They had the vehicle for 2 hours and I came there after work to check up on what they found. First words out of the technician were we ordered you a new engine as this one has a porous block. Not sure if the block was porous or cracked as one would think that after 31000kms it would have been evident sooner.Regardless, the dealership provided a replacement vehicle (Mazda 3) and have indicated that this will be repaired once they receive a new engine as they were on back order. Dealership also indicated that this is not the first 2.5L with this issue found on a 2018 CX5. Ive owned over 30 vehicles so far and this is the first time Ive had this type of failure. Needless to say, Im not too happy with the reliability demonstrated by a Japanese built vehicle.
I recently purchased a certified pre-owned Mazda 6. After owning it for only 5 months, the brake pads on the front of the vehicle are completely worn. Mazda expects me to pay $100 to fix my vehicle? I feel this to be ridiculous. I shouldnt have brake issues so soon after owning a car and Mazda should do the right thing and fix my vehicle for free.
Just out of warranty my passenger window motor broke. I had to buy a new motor off the internet because the dealership wanted six times the price for the part. Then a year later the driver outside door handle broke. Four months later the same handle broke again. I didnt realize but the other handles dont get as much use but theyre starting to show theyre starting to give. I will not be buying a Mazdas again and this car (Mazda cx7 2010)was not cheap.
Mazda 6 emergency brake caliper recall - I cant believe that I have been a Mazda fan this long and am treated so badly. I have been swearing by their cars for years and now. I wont anymore. I got a recent recall (Ive had them in the past) and was treated poorly. Actually, they refused to send me a refund for work that was done prematurely because of a faulty part. I am upset because I really was one the 1st people to drive my 2014 Mazda6 in the ATLANTA AREA. Basically, the work I had done wouldnt have happened had they recalled the issue sooner; now they refuse to pay me back! It always kills me; how a company making millions of dollars refuses to pay loyal customers hundreds of dollars to keep them. Its OK. I will find a new car brand to stand behind next. File Number **.
I bought my 2015 Mazda CX-5 from Fox Mazda in Grand Rapids, MI in February of 2018. At the time it had 31,000 miles on it. Last week, I went to start my cart and the engine started and then sputtered and died. After getting a tow, the Mazda dealership in WI (where I now live) has informed me that my high-pressure fuel pump has failed. Between the tow, labor, and parts it is going to be over $1,000 to repair an item that should not be breaking on a car with less than 50,000 miles. On top of that, the part is apparently back-ordered and I was told that it could take anywhere from a week to a month for them to get the part in. So now, I am without a car for an indeterminate amount of time as a result of fuel pump failure on a relatively new car with low miles.
In a previous post of about one month ago, I stated that the compressor had gone out on my new 2016 Mazda 6 GT. Can you imagine this, the dealer repaired it 4 weeks ago. Now its in the shop again for the same thing. Compressor/air conditioning system went out. This car has about 3000 miles on it. I contacted Mazda on all levels because I want a new car. I am still waiting to hear from the dealership. I currently have their loaner. Trust me. This is so very frustrating!
Recently, I had an issue with my vehicle when it wouldnt start. I had my car towed to my mechanic in Indialantic. He ran the diagnostic test on my car and found out that the ECM computer system had failed, and also fried 6 of my coils. My mechanic had given me a quote of $1,400 for repairs. In the meantime, I was calling around to see if I could find an ECM for a cheaper price. I came across an EPA federal warranty that stated: Any vehicle with less than 80,000 miles and less than 8 yrs. old is entitled to this EPA warranty on any specified major emission control components. The warranty states that all components are covered and the manufacturer will have to repair the components free of charge. I brought the warranty over to my mechanic to look it over. He stated that he would call Mazda and find out if they will honor this federal warranty. My mechanic spoke with a gentleman named Robert **. He approved the use of the warranty and told the mechanic to have us bring the vehicle over to Mazda. The next day, I paid to have the car towed to Mazda. Robert ** stated that he would call me before he started to give me a price on the repairs. When he called later that afternoon, he gave me a quote of $1,700. This was $300 more than my mechanic. He then called back again and stated that he would drop the cost to $1,345. It is costing me the same price with the warranty as it would have at my mechanics garage, without the warranty. I also had to pay to have the car towed to Mazda. I only brought it over to Mazda because the gentlemen stated he would honor the warranty, and he is charging me more. I feel belittled and taken advantage of.
Year and a half ago, I bought a CX-7 2008. At first it was great, loved that car! It was perfect for our family and loved the way it drove. A year later, things started majorly happening. I noticed that the tires were wearing down fast. I had it aligned and rotated when I needed to. I did everything on the right time line, but still the tires started going bald fast. Then I took it in for a routine oil change and was told that the oil cooler was leaking. When I bought the car from a dealer, that was an issue, and the dealer fixed it before I bought it. Now a year later, it was leaking again. So I took it to my mechanic and he checked it out. He found that not only was it leaking, but that the engine was going because there were metal parts in the oil. I had to buy a new engine! Now 6 months later, the oil cooler is leaking again!!!! I asked the Mazda dealership why? They didnt have any answers for me. Now Im backwards in this piece of junk!!! And I have to have a car to go to work. I have a limited income because Im a teacher and when talking to Mazda, there is nothing that can be done.
I bought my cx5 last jan 2014 here in the Philippines. I am already having trouble with my thermostat, with the aircon, with the bluetooth. They have poor after sales service. They want to tow my car without any replacement. I only have one car. I cant complain to anybody. Here they will make you feel its your fault you have flaky unit. They want to charge for the repairs. The is less than one year old. Still without warranty. I tried calling mazda Japan but they dont have contact number. Cant complaint to anybody. I should have bought German made car. POOR after sales. Not reliable. Have a back up car because mazda will break down anytime.
Bad valve body??? I am not a happy consumer! I have owned the car for 45 days. I paid $31,000 for a loaded CX-5 Grand Touring. I broke down on the highway today. The dealership that I had the car towed to just informed me that it was a bad valve body. Maybe not a big deal to him, but driving a brand new vehicle with 4,000 miles and breaking down on a major highway on a 90-day waiting for a tow truck to arrive is a VERY big deal to me!!
It has been a great vehicle so far and its comfortable to ride in. I love how I just need the key fob in my pocket/purse and can lock/unlock with one touch and a key is not needed to be placed in ignition. It is very dependable. It is also very comfortable and fun to drive. I chose this for the third row seat to upgrade from the CX-7 I owned. I like the leather seats, sunroof, rear view camera, keyless entry and driving and fold down third row seat. But I would like for it have Apple CarPlay, more leg room in third row, seat coolers and better softer leather seats like previous CX-9 models have.
I had purchased a 2000 Mazda V6 from an independent dealer. He sold the car with no warranties. I purchased my car on 3/5/12 and less than five hours after I had the car, my engine blew. The owner does not want to fix my engine nor refund me the amount that it will cost for me to put another one in the vehicle. The car was $2,700 total. After weeks of trying to get the situation fixed, he said that he will put $350 towards another engine and I have to pay the rest. That is not fair to me as a consumer because I didnt have the car long enough to blow the engine and I feel like I should not have to pay out of my pocket to replace it.
Well, if you want to be mislead, lied to and taken advantage of then I suggest you come here. I went into Mazda back in March 2019 to test the CX-5, after driving it around and listening all the great features I started to become more and more interested in the vehicle. Zakou, my sales rep tried to get me the best deal. I explained to him I still had 3 more months left on my previous lease but he assured me it wouldnt be an issue because Mazda would take care of the remaining balance (which by the way, was written in the contract and stated in all the paperwork signed by them and myself).Well, to cut the story short, its been almost three months since I switched to Mazda, my previous lease hasnt been paid off yet although they took the vehicle from me, I have been CONSTANTLY reaching out to my sales rep, calling the store, asking for a manager, financial manager, ANYONE that could help me out and all I get is: I will find out what is going on and I will reach out to you but I never hear back from anyone, and the manager seems to never be available. The only person I was able to talk to was the manager for used cars who obviously had no idea what I was talking about and also promised to call back, but I am still waiting for that call - one week later-.I have sent copies of the letters from my previous car dealership regarding the missed payments and how this was reported to the credit bureaus damaging my credit and all Zakou (the sales rep) would say is that he passed it on to his managers. When I asked which manager so I could follow up he would say I could just call and ask for one and they would all know what I was talking about, which again, LIES, because not once was I able to get a hold of a manager, they seemed to NEVER be there, and when I would reach out to Zakou again, hed tell me the same thing making me even more upset at the fact that I was not getting any concrete answers.The last thing I was told by my sales rep was for me to pay the balance and bring them a cancelled check for a refund which at this point I refuse because that is not what I agreed on, and if I wouldve known that from the beginning I would have just waited out the three months so I wouldnt be stuck with two lease payments!! It is safe to say, this has been by FAR the worse experience with a dealership that has failed tremendously with their customer service. Their lack of attention or interest in my situation has made my experience so sour, if it wasnt for my contract I would have returned the vehicle already so I wouldnt have to deal with them.
Purchased the 2014 Mazda CX5 in November of 2013 in Appleton, WI from Bergstrom Automotive. Noticed immediately the rear passengers inside windows were frozen solid and that snow was blowing inside the door of the rear passenger side. Called Mazda immediately and they told me they had no complaints about this issue. They told me to take it to the dealership to test it out. The problem was they test it inside and not outside when the weather is freezing. They did nothing about it and sent us home with the Mazda. They said I could trade it in for about a $5000.00 loss and get a new 2014-2015. The 2014 only has 3800 miles on it. The experience has been a nightmare.
CX5 with 105,000 miles. Started car, backed out of garage, proceeded to drive away and a loud noise just before the car died. Ended up pushing the car back to the house and into the garage. Spent a few hours looking over everything and could not find the source of the problem. Checked the oil and it was fine. Checked fuses, all were good. Checked starter and alternator, all good. The next day I looked under the passenger side of the vehicle and notice two drops of oil on the garage floor. Checked oil again and it was up to level. Followed a small trail of oil pooling on the dust cover (under the engine) and saw two jagged holes in the engine block just above the oil filter. I wish I could post pictures of the holes and block pieces. The engine block wall is VERY thin and not what you would expect. Mazda really went cheap on manufacturing these SkyActiv blocks! The car belongs to my wife and is out of warranty range so with $13k left owed on it, were screwed. One more thing to add is Mazda had already replaced the defective automatic transmission at 80,000 miles.
I have not had a single issue with my car in six years, it has been the absolute best purchase I have ever made. The car has also retained much of its resale value. My vehicle is totally manual, transmission and windows; the vehicle also gets great gas mileage. I chose this car because it was rated very high for reliability and overall value at the time I bought the vehicle. However, I dislike the clips that secure parts to my vehicle, and they break very easily. The oil pan fell off a few months after purchase and some of the interior clip ons broke as well.
My husband bought me a 1998 Mazda 626 in June. In July I took to car to get a tune up and to see why the check engine light was on. When they hooked the car up to the machine they told me that the the first spark plug was misfiring and that it showed up that the threads from that spark plug was crossed. I took the car back to the dealership and they told me that someone had glued the spark plug and all my mechanic had to do was to wipe the glue off and the do the tune up. So I said okay and took the car back to Mekinee here in Raleigh. Well, they said they werent going to touch the car so I called up the dealership and they said for me to bring the car to them, I said okay. While Im on my way to take them the car, all of sudden the car broke down along the side of the highway. They came and towed the car, so the following day my husband who is in the military came home and we went down to check on the car and thats when they told us that the transmission was gone on the car. This car only has around 100,000 miles on it , now I dont know what to do and the dealership has completely stopped having contact with me and my husband.
OK, the car drives and handles well so thats why it gets two stars but otherwise owning it has been awful. The computer needs to update? Reboots in the middle of driving. No kidding, literally on the road, using the navigation I spent several hundred dollars for, the cars computer reboots. Not once, twice. I take it to the dealership, the guy says yeah, the computer needs to be updated, no big deal.Then there is the computer not recognizing my phone 9 times out of 10, including when I wanted to dial 911 to report an accident. So useful! Even when it does recognize the phone, want to play Pandora? Better have the phone on and Pandora open or else nope. Open phone and turn on Pandora after the car decides it cant find them? Nope. Not going to recognize Pandora until you turn the car off and back on again. Want to use the iPod that is literally plugged into it? Maybe. We might let you. Unless we refuse to recognize it until you reboot the iPod and turn off and on the car.Then the drivers seat ripped within a few months of purchase. I took it in, it took weeks to replace the seat. Then the plastic piece that protects the electronics under the drivers seat broke. I took it in, got it fixed, that took weeks because the part had to be ordered. It broke again. I got it fixed again. It just broke this evening, and I just dont even know what to do. I deeply regret purchasing this vehicle.
2005 Mazda 6 GT head light bezel melted due to heat from fog lamps. After this occurrence, Mazda denied a third replacement. The newer model fog lights were moved to the bumpers; therefore, it was a known issue and Mazda chose to ignore this. 2010 Mazda CX7 GT NAV is outdated; Mazda refused to provide updated software, claiming NAV systems are accessories covered only by a 12 months 12k miles. NAV is standard equipment on GT model, not an accessory. It has poor material and design of smart keys - Mazda refused to replace broken key case at only 8 months old. Mazda Capital Finance bank does not inform buyers of limitation or guidelines, leaving consumers with the short end. They have Great Products (not perfect); however there is no customer support from Mazda North America.
Purchased a CX9 new in 2007. Drove it with a few problems like the Prox key losing its program forcing us to buy a new one at the cost of $300 plus $100 programing. But thats the short of it... At 59000 miles I walk into the dealer and have them doing some recall work on the car. I tell them its transmission is kind of slipping. Service guy says dont worry and recommends a trans service... I say ok... Come back a month later ask for trans service and he says, Its over drivetrain warranty now. Maybe the service will help. Sounds like the trans is shot. The part alone is $9000 and removal is another $3000. Has no record of my issue at prior visit. Says there is no warranty. Said you dont service your car here so we wont help you. I ended up spending another $3k out of pocket having a trans shop rebuild the trans. If youre thinking about it... RUN FROM MAZDA!
I cannot keep a battery charged. New alternator, new radiator. Thanks to alternator, new battery, new radio, new tires, etc. Money in it and still cant keep it charged. Does anyone know why this may be happening? I love the car (2010 Mazda CX9) but am fed up with it not running when I need it. Something is pulling battery down when it is parked in my garage overnight. Any help would be appreciated everyone if baffled at what is causing this. Cant trade it off. Just bought 6 months ago and have problem ever since. Owe too much to trade now. Help.
Thought just easy fix oil leak and when I went to fix it they want $429. Just for part and Mazda knows its a faulty product! They should do recall. Using oil and leaking terribly. Then makes you go through antifreeze to cool problem. Then makes engine light come on. They have known about this problem for a long time. How unfair to consumers! I will never want to buy another Mazda again!
Its my fault that Mazda use Bose speakers that corrode in the doors and stop working. So not covered under the warranty. Definitely not Mazdas or Boses fault. The brand / image that Mazda portrays is not reflected in the after sales service and warranty team. Buyer beware!
Since I bought this car in July of 2012 with 54000 miles, its been an amazingly reliable car. It handles really good, good acceleration and very quick. I average about 40.5 mpg with a good amount of city driving. Its a very easy and fun to drive car. I still have the original tires on it with 79000 miles and still has a little bit of tread left. Im pretty surprised with the tires life, especially being a 45000 miles rated tire. Ive never had an issue or problem with it and I look forward to all the moments Ill have with this car.
I have previously owned 2 Mazdas. The last Mazda 6 was totaled in accident. As I recovered, I began to decide on a replacement vehicle. I was drawn to Mazda. The new 6s do not have the same sporty look as my previous 6, so I considered other styles. As we were test driving several vehicles, including a 3, the salesman pointed us to a cx-7 under the dealership awning. He pointed out the incredible deal due to the enormous vinyl windshield cover at $21,999.00. We test drove the 7 and decided on this vehicle. The salesman had us consider owning this vehicle versus another 7 with lesser options for similar retail. Inside, another man entered the cubicle to inform us that the windshield cover had been put on the wrong vehicle. I am familiar with signing and obligation, so relevance here is the constant. The vehicle was not just on the lot, but in a hot spot under the awning and according to the conversation, had been signed wrong since at least the previous day.I did not purchase a vehicle from the dealership that day or since then and have been deliberating on the most respectful way to handle this situation. I look forward to action to rectify this unusual situation.Cordially,Lucy
20111 Mazda 3S - There was condensation on the passenger side headlight and it caused the light to burn out. Took the car into the Mazda dealer and they said that the bulb alone was going to be $266.75 AND - that the mechanism behind it and the entire housing would have to be replaced!!! Because they cannot get to the light from under the hood, the entire front panel would have to be removed AND it was going to cost OVER $2000.00 FOR THE HEADLIGHT!!! Yikes!!!! I wanted to cry... Trying to speak with others about options. Of course, the warranty is no longer in effect. Needed to vent!!!!!
I bought a car here 6 months ago. I had some bad experience but my wife insisted on buying something, so I did. Paperwork included many extra charges. They sold a prepaid maintenance plan - charged us for premium plan but paperwork said basic plan. Took me a while to get the errors corrected. Recently my car had a recall. Called the dealer. Literally, the conversation with dimitry went like this:I: I heard there is a Mazda recall. Dmitry: Yea, dont worry, we will call you. I: this sounds bad. Whats the issue? Dmitry: hey, no one died. So dont worry. I: are you sure? You sound so casual about it. Dmitry: are you looking for a free loaner or some free things? I: what? You sound bad. Is there a manager I can talk to. Dmitry: this is as good as it gets. What else can I do for you.WOW! Called the manager later on. Sal. He was no better either. This dealership has NASTY scammers masquerading as salespeople and service folks. Try calling the service dept to talk to a service specialist. You will NOT be able to reach anyone, no matter how many times you try. I regret buying Mazda and especially from this dealer. I will not go back to this dealer.
Add me to the woes of Mazda owners (Mazda 2004 MPV) with coil packs and fans that wont shut off. Replaced the fan switch last month when it continued to run after shutting off the vehicle. Replacing the third coil pack at 93,000. Three down, three to go. Would also like to know why there is no class action lawsuit yet. No fan of super torts, but I am pretty angry. Theres no recall/fix from Mazda.
We have seen a host of complaints on the internet, including the ** website about reliability issues on relatively new Mazda SUVs. In our specific case, both the LED lights on our 2016 CX-5 went out in under 40K miles. They cost a whopping ~$1100 to replace... each! Mazda corporate replaced one, but when the second one went out at 40K, said its not a reliability issue. The entire cost of replacing just one assembly costs as much as 3 years of standard maintenance costs. Were done with Mazda. In contrast, Subaru fixed an engine issue (twice, both times well out of warranty) at their expense just to stand by their brand.
My name is Aubrey **** and I have been a Mazda driver /owner for the past 20 years. I am now the owner of a Mazda CX-7. My previous vehicle was a Mazda Tribute. Mazda is an easy sale for me. Since getting my first Mazda, the only thing I have needed to let the sales person know is how much I need to spend and the main features I am looking for. I have never had to write a letter like this before since all my previous Mazdas were excellent choices. However, I have to express my displeasure with this vehicle. I will attempt to express all the features with which I have been having problems over the past few months since I have acquired this vehicle.Wing Mirrors. The CX-7 is a cross between the ordinary car and the SUV. The wing mirrors are much too small for this vehicle and presents quiet and enormous blind spot. I have had a number of near misses since acquiring this vehicle!Automatic Transaxle Control. This Transaxle control is causing me trouble due to the design. Most automatic vehicles only requires a push of a release button and pulling the lever straight down into the required position. In this vehicle, there is no button. However, you have to maneuver your way around a number of grooves in order to get to a desired position. This gives the impression of a manual stick shift which to me seems like a backward step in the design of the vehicle.The Radio. The Tribute I had before the CX-7 had the feature in which was able to continue to listening to the radio when I got to my destination even after switching the engine off until I exited the vehicle. The CX-7 is lacking this feature which I find a huge drawback as it is a newer model.The Climate Control System. Safety is a very important aspect when driving. Most vehicles are designed for the drivers to keep their eyes focused on the plethora of things happening on the road at every second and features which distract from this should not be present in the vehicles. In the Tribute, with regards to the climate control system, there were five (5) buttons to select your preference of either the defroster, defroster and floor vents, the dashboard vents, the dashboard and floor vents and the floors only vents . This made it so you only have to take your eyes off the road once to select the mode you need. In this vehicle there are two (2) buttons, one for the defroster and one for the other modes. Therefore this makes it so that it is fine to select for the defroster however for the other modes, you are required to take your eyes off the road multiple times in other to be sure of the exact mode which was selected, as the second button needs to be pressed numerous times depending on the desired mode.Bluetooth. It is the law that persons are no longer allowed to hold phone in order to have a conversation when driving, so Bluetooth should not be thought of as a bonus feature in modern vehicle but a standard feature. This Bluetooth is seriously flawed. It rings, I answer but there is no sound. I cannot hear the person nor can they hear me. I hang up and the entire display goes blank. The radio goes out and the time resets itself. After which, I have no radio and no phone for days. This event occurs on a regular basis, it corrects itself, after which the phone will ring again and the whole incident occurs all over.Indicator. The Tribute I drove before had the indicators neutralized after 60 seconds. So if I was at a stoplight waiting to go left or right the indicator would neutralize and I would have to put it back on. This a great feature to have as when changing lanes on a high way the CX-7 keeps the light on where as the tribute would neutralize after a minute. It is very irksome for driver to be blowing and swearing at me on the highway for not changing lane as is being indicated. In conclusion, I have to confess the CX-7 is a step back into the past and I would happily trade it for a tribute with the Bluetooth and the heated seats as it is my opinion that I have been downgraded in my move from the tribute to the CX-7. My number is **** I would appreciate if someone from the costumer service could call me and we could find a common ground in which to settle this matter hopefully within the next week.
I bought a 2008 Mazda Cx9 two weeks ago. The blower motor went out and I saw several complaint on that because of leaking water from the driver side. Secondly, when I release the break, it makes this hard click and when you change to drive or reverse. The car has 57k miles on it and for the year, that is too many problems. They should make a recall on that blower motor and the water leaking from the a/c. I had a 2000 Tahoe with 172 miles and never had to replace any big things. This would be the last purchase for Mazda and I dont recommend it to anyone. I should have stayed with American made. Spending $20k for an auto that I have to fix two weeks later. What a piece of junk. I would like to let the owner of the Mazda to look at this two complaints. The car had only one owner and I just realized why he returned his car. Also, the motor moves when you press the gas. I dont know if that is normal, but I hope the motor doesnt drop while I am driving. Thank you, I will be waiting for a response.
My car started hesitating for a couple of weeks. After my car was diagnosed and serviced for the alternator and wiring, another problem was diagnosed, a leak under the intake manifold (PCV hose). After the tuned of $1400 plus paid out, I drove it off the lot and the engine light came on. I turned around and brought it back. On 10/19/11, they kept the car. The next day the tech advised me that he drove it for 10 miles and nothing happened. My car remained with them again. They cleaned the connectors and tested the solonoid valve and they said it was okay. I picked it up on 10/20/11 and the same thing happened. They kept it. I picked it up the next day. On 10/21/11, again the light came on after leaving. I went home and called them. The tech stated it would cost me another $400.00 plus. What? I stated they should fix it because the engine light was not the problem. I brought it in for the alternator and wiring. What happened with my engine light? I took the car and went to work. There was no light on and then, the light was on, etc. Oh and by the way, they stated to me the valve with an open and shut flap could stay open or closed and I should not worry. They were lax in that statement. Do they not understand its my engine light? I have had my Mazda 6 for 5 1/2 years and never had a complaint regarding maintenance and repairs from the Mazda dealer before. What is going on? Or, is it just the Mazda dealers in Lodi, New Jersey? If theres a class action suit in the making, Im in.
I bought my 2004 RX-8 car and it has about 98,000 miles on it. I got it in October 2011. I took very good care of the car. I let it warm up, worked the engine properly - all youre supposed to do to this special engine. Now, here it is on June, I am driving down the road, and the car, without a warning, just dies. I have a blown engine just like that. I am furious. If Mazda has known that this issue randomly happens with its cars, why isnt every single one that suffers from this defect gets replaced? I am now deep in debt, 104,000 miles and 9 months in a 5-year loan on a car thats virtually garbage. Please help someone.
Mazda MX-5 drain system design flaw. Mazda NA does not care. I had a very similar experience to previous post by Daniel of Palo Alto, CA on Feb. 2, 2011. Mazda North America customer service seems happy to lose a lifetime of customer loyalty for a $10 parts and maybe $100 labor fix that was a known issue since mid-production year 2006-2007. I should have been notified or the quick fix should have been done at one of the many visits to the dealership I had between 2008 and 2010 (over $16k in invoices over those years). I cannot begin to speak how angering it was that customer service insisted the entire Mazda NA Operations does not have access to Technical Service Bulletins (TSB), and therefore it would be up to the dealership to cover the fix for a manufacturing design flaw if they desired. I told the rep that the dealership actually pointed the other way citing that Mazda NA has to decide to cover it free of charge since it is not the dealership that designed the drain system. I told the rep that I want to speak with another more experienced agent or a supervisor to confirm that. The rep flat out flipped the script citing, No. No other agent or supervisor can help you. I am sorry you do not understand that. I am sorry that you interpret what I said that way. I am sorry that no one here can help you. I am ending this call now. Are you serious?! Are they trying to hurt market share? I personally will not be buying a Mazda again unless I have disposable income for a disposable car. The damage to their reputation in North America has been done in my eyes.
This is my 3rd Mazda, if I ever have need to buy another car it will also be a Mazda, but my last one later 17 years so I may never need another one if this one lasts that long, too. I like that its strong, reliable, and has decent mileage. Its a great color, charcoal grey. I feel sexy driving this car. I feel like the brakes are completely reliable as well. But my model is a bit sporty for me. Id also like to sit a little higher and have better visibility especially the back window. Id love one of those backup cameras as well.
I would like to warn you people out there about this dealership, seems to be a common theme with Mazda. This link verifies that the entire Mazda corporation has a systemic problem with accountability and safety measures. A dealership that sells a vehicle to a senior citizen with dementia is an all time low, unless youre Midway Mazda which seems to be acceptable. You can get this information from the MVSA BC complaints and cases against this particular dealership under the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA). Actually you can see it online as well, because it did go to court.Furthermore, they have had at least 9 abandoned cases all in a row, dating back to 2008 courtesy of the MVSA (Motor Vehicle Sales Authority which is Non-Profit, meaning donations and taxpayer funded) in which the MVSA manager indicates they lost those files, updating the computer system. MVSA is no better than the slum dealership it represents. They talk their way out of any type of action. If youre thinking about filing a complaint against Mazda through MVSA, make sure you read the policies and know your rights. Funny thing is that the MVSA Manager didnt even know what his own policies were, and when I told him, he was in disbelief and denial. If its in writing then its legal, talk is cheap. I waited over 9 months just to get a meeting, because they kept blowing me off, and didnt even bother to tell me why?This dealership falsified the inspection reports and would not take care of any issues brought up that were safety hazards, or even non-safety issues that cost me money out of my pocket. Its simple, downright neglectful and deceitful. The entire process from start to end was absolutely ridiculous from non-service to the product. I have been dealing with this issue for just about 2 years. I have wrote reviews, and sent letters to every organization and governing body under the sun. I have all the proof in the world, and civil court is the only way to go now. I would think twice about this dealership and I will make sure everyone knows about it too. I also would not buy from the Nissan next to this dealership as it is the same owner. Make yourselves accountable, instead of hiding behind poor policy, excuses and lies, because in the end it will hit your wallet! Disappointed taxpayer/owner of a Mazda.
I bought a brand new CX5 in Soul Red in May, 2014. After normal driving in summer road conditions, have already noticed 2 chips in the hood paint. I turned in a 2008 Honda CRV with almost 100K miles on it and had no such paint chipping. I was told the paint wasnt under warranty and tough luck. Very disappointed and can only imagine how terrible my brand new car will look after a winter and road salt hacking away at the paint. I have never owned a car with such an issue and now see many complaints with regards to Mazda paint.
I have a 2010 Mazda 5 with 23,200 miles which I owned for just under two years. I had a rear tire blow and brought the vehicle to the dealership. The tire was worn on the shoulder down to the steel belt but the rest of the tread was fine. The dealer contacted Mazda but because I could not prove that I rotated the tires (I do them myself and I check tire pressure bi-weekly) and because I did not have an alignment done at 12 months/12,000 miles I was not covered under warranty. This is completely unacceptable for a car that is less than two years old to have that kind of tire wear. I took the car in for an alignment to a third party and was told that both rear cambers are out of spec but they cannot be adjusted once they leave the factory. I believe I purchased a defective vehicle but Mazda will not replace it and it appears there is no fix to prevent it from happening again.The cost of the alignment and four tires was $582.
Bought a 2008 Mazda CX-9 Grand Touring right off the showroom floor. It was/is beautiful and has lots of bells and whistles. However within a few weeks we heard this really loud noise on the right front of the car, by the tire when driving over 50 miles an hour. We inquired many different times and they said it was probably the tires but that the tires werent included in the warranty. The transfer case along with some other things that the Mazda employee told us made it dangerous to drive and legally they couldnt allow me to drive my car until it was replaced. The inside knobs of the car lights fell off within a few months of purchase. The headphones that went with the rear entertainment system were defective. The Bluetooth that allows you to talk hands-free is has so much static that the person on the other line cannot hear you very well. They did not fix that.I tried to get Mazda to replace the car with another or buy it back. They refused and said that because they kept fixing the problems - we couldnt file for lemon law. However, they did say if things continued to go bad after my warranty expired, they would extend it. Did that happen? No, it did not. We filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Since then, the brakes I replaced 3x within 2 years as they continue to squeak even when they are brand new! Mazda told me it was probably because I got my brakes done at Midas who used a different brand so I allowed them to replace it with the Mazda brand. Yep, still squeaks. Its VERY loud and embarrassing. At that point, Mazda told me there was nothing that they could do.Last summer, the water that comes from the air conditioning backed up inside the car, flooding the passengers front floor. This summer, it did the same. Due to this, the front blower motor has stopped working. This will be over $600 to replace so here I drive this expensive car with the windows down since I have no air conditioning. At night, I have to drive with the windows down and the windshield wipers on because the windows fog up from the front blowers not working... NO DEFROST! We have had nothing but problems with this vehicle.Financially drained - not from the payment (although its way too expensive to have all these troubles!) but due to the continual repairs. I had a Saturn before this and drove it for ten years having to replace only the fuel injection. Everything else worked! $45K vs $16K. When it comes to Mazda, you do NOT get what you pay for. Unless you are paying for a lot of problems - then you are right on the money!
A week ago I unlocked my car and opened the door to a very loud sound that was like a jackhammer or machine gun. I was alarmed, had no idea what was going on, and finally figured out it was the car stereo. I drove the car to my local mechanic, enduring horribly loud and unabated noise the whole way, and they confirmed it was the stereo. My mechanic told me to take it to Mazda, which I did. Mazda charged me $100 to take a look at the stereo, then told me it had an internal failure and would cost ME $1,050 to replace the stereo and another $150 to install it. I was appalled. My cars warranty was for three years and I have had it for three years and nine months. My problem. Not theirs. I called Mazda USA and they agreed. They added that because of my high miles they wouldnt consider chipping in to replace the stereo. Since when did miles have any wear and tear on a STEREO! Very tacky on Mazdas part. I have loved my car otherwise and would have definitely have purchased another of the same model soon. Now I will never buy another Mazda. Their behavior is scandalous.
First off these cars are priced well, very affordable. Bought a 2013 Mazda 5 van as my 1st new car. It got great gas mileage 22mpg city and 31 on highway. The 5 looked sporty and slick with pearl white paint. I was very gentle on the car to break in the drivetrain; I would start it and let it warm up for ~30secs. But after the 1st oil change at 2900 miles at the dealer of course the engine would shutter upon start. When putting the car in reverse the engine would rev up to 3000rpms without any input. When trying to pass on freeway the check engine light would appear. When the wife bumped a neighborhood street curb the van would drift to the right. Took it to the dealer and service manager was disrespectful and defensive. He literally pointed his finger at me and accused me of street racing!? Really guy in a van. He said the check engine light was due to WOT passes. Yeah right, tell me the code on scanner. No sir you would not understand. I informed him that I was a certified ASE tech and been working on cars for over 15 years. He later told me only techs he had specialized in Mazda. Now that I have brought in the van this early in ownership I could imagine the problems down the road. I dont know the driving routine in Japan but this brand is as fragile as an old Jaguar. So I traded it in for an Explorer and 0 problems yet.
My Mazda Tribute caught fire sitting in my driveway due to a recalled ABS Module failure. Mazda admitted blame after over a week and said they would fix my car at no cost to me. After eight weeks of constant battle with Mazda USA and Hiley Mazda of Huntsville, Alabama, I was told my car was ready to pick up. The repairs of the car are a complete mess. The badly burned brake lines were not replaced and the badly burned wiring harness was spliced back together in pieces. They didnt even match the insulation colors to the existing wires and mismatched the wire size! After two more weeks of arguing with Mazda Customer Service Center in Irvine California, I was told by telephone call that Mazda engineers reviewed the photos I sent them and determined the repairs were Just fine, but they would gladly add some more electrical tape to the harness if I would like. I demanded to talk to someone in higher authority and was denied. I asked to have a report of their findings in writing and was denied. I just took my car to an independent repair facility for inspection and they agreed with my complaints 100%. Their estimate to repair is going to cost me and my insurance company $2600. Mazda is the most dishonest company I have ever dealt with in my life. I will never purchase another Mazda as long as I live.
Love my SUV Mazda CX7. Its so comfortable. Have much space for family members and its a good vehicle to travel and have a big back space for stuff, groceries, shopping items. The interiors are very durable material and easy to clean. And easy repair and to drive so safely and secured part. I recommended so much for all type of family. Its very pretty design so I would like to buy a new one next year. But I would like maybe a more bigger back in a new model but at all its fine other parts. Quality and strong parts. All the model is ok.
After less than a year of ownership my MX-5 convertible was developing holes in the soft top from rubbing on the frame. I researched the problem and found several instances of this including a long term test done by Motor Trend that showed photos of the top wearing in the same exact spots as mine. Their top and others I saw were fixed by replacing the frame with a newer design that doesn’t rub and the cloth soft top. For some reason on mine they will only replace the cloth top. That will not solve the problem.The service department agrees with me and so did The person at Mazda I talked to on the phone but Mazda still won’t approve the frame replacement. This will be my first and last Mazda purchase! I have owned several new cars and have never experienced anything as bad as this. It’s a shame because I really do like the car otherwise. But if they won’t fix an obvious problem I’m not going to take a chance that I’ll have a worse problem later. Trading it in for another car before this new top starts getting holes in it!
I have trouble with my heater when it is minus 12 or more. It may take 10 miles for the blue (cold) light to go off and may come back on again. If colder may not heat at all.
Been very happy with the Mazda 5 for the most part. It drives well, is not too expensive to run, and has not needed many repairs. Also fits nicely into our very tiny one-car garage, which is a definite plus. I choose it because the storage area could hold all of the items I knew I would need to carry there, which was the main reason was shopping for a new vehicle. But I dislike that there is only one keylock, on the drivers door. To open any of the other doors, must first open driver door, then use inside controls to open rest of doors.
Back in January, a pebble hit my windshield on my way to the airport. Needless to say, I had damage the size of a .50 cent piece. I called my insurance company and they use a TPA that replaces windshields for them. It took the company 6 weeks to install my new windshield, because every time the windshield was delivered it was cracked. Just Monday, April 25th, I am driving to work and another pebble hit my windshield. I did not think much of it, until then I saw a spider crack going up my windshield... Not again!Is there a defect with these windshields? Then, it takes 4-6 weeks for a replacement to be installed because Mazda is SO backed up from California and then they arrive broken. I would appreciate Mazda to respond and to fix this issue, as this is a serious defect! It is against the law to drive with a broken windshield. And then be told that there is a 6-8 week back order. One window replacement company told me 3 months... are you kidding me! Mazda - you need to look into a recall!!! If not, you will have class-action on your hands!
Got to love the great comment We have to verify if its on warranty 1st. In July 2010, I drove out of the Mazda dealer with my Mazda Tribute. In 2012, the back hatch lock was broken. They fixed it on warranty. Then again, this past May 2014, it broke again. They said it wasnt on warranty anymore, and it would cost $250.00, which I went ahead and got fixed. This did not seem to me like normal life of wear and tear. At the same time, my AC stopped working. They charged me another $100.00 to tell me that it could cost up to $700.00 to fix it. Again, this is not to me acceptable wear and tear. I live in Canada and use the AC 2 months out of 12. They said that the vehicle still runs the AC in winter to get the humidity out. Anyhow, I figure that if they had told me as a selling point, buy this vehicle and you will need to spend money to fix things that should be normally working given the age of the vehicle, but wont. Sign on the line please. In June 2013, I went in for some noise in the front undercarriage. They said that they had to check if the warranty was still on. Now, I drove the vehicle out for the 1st time on July 9th, 2010. They were arguing with me that it was in May, at 1st. Then, they gave me another date in mid-June. I said that I would go home and get my purchasing contract signed and dated. I came back with it, and there it was. July 9th, 2010. Still, they were not convinced. I said that any half bit lawyer would agree with me, since there it was on paper. A day later, I went back, and they said that the financial adviser had filed the wrong contracts. Imagine my surprise, they were finally willing to take my original contract as being the correct one. I am not at all satisfied with the service nor the quality of this vehicle I have at this time. I am still making payments on it, and on top of that, I need to fix things that should be almost outliving the vehicle.
I went to see and purchased a used car from Mazda of Palm Beach. Almost none of the features on the carfax ad were correct. The dealer claims it is Carfax issue. I never would have paid the price I did had I known the complete options on the car.
To all owner of Mazda 2007-2013 Grand touring model. This car has around 62 K miles on it and solely serviced at Peterson Mazda dealer which I bought the car from, in Huntington Beach, California. About a month or so the car was serviced as scheduled and the inspection revealed nothing out of the ordinary. I was informed that eventually, I have to change the brake pads within 6 months or so. There was about 1/3 left on them. Without any warning of any kind, the brakes quit working and the car was not driveable. I thank God that my kids were not with me. The only way I came to a full stop was to downgrade to the 1st gear and apply the emergency brake. I recall I was on the freeway and the car had to be towed to my place. I replaced the disks, put new pads front and rear and the car still was not breaking. I took the car back to the dealer thinking that the master cylinder was defective and need replacing and I was ready to bit my tongue and pay for it since my warranty just expired at 60K. To my surprise I was told that there is a factory recall on the brake boosters and the replacement is free. I was outraged by the fact that we were not informed of this potentially dangerous issue, and I was told that it is on the need to know or repair basis and that the dealer is not liable since Mazda would not reimburse the cost of the repair, which averages $400 or so. Thanks a lot, Mazda. It is almost as bad as the exploding gas tank from the Ford Pinto back in the days. Do yourself a favor call your dealer and let them know about those boosters. Your life is at risk. For the record, I rarely write reviews but this time I felt obligated to inform the public about the shady dishonest behavior that Mazda is conducting and my life and kids life is worth more than your pathetic $400.
