2027 Mazda MX-5 Miata

The 2027 Mazda MX-5 Miata continues the tradition of delivering an engaging driving experience through lightweight engineering, responsive handling, and open-top motoring. Rather than chasing excessive horsepower or oversized dimensions, the MX-5 focuses on the qualities that make sports cars enjoyable: precise steering, balanced handling, and a direct connection between driver and road.

With its compact proportions, distinctive styling, and reputation for reliability, the MX-5 Miata remains an appealing choice for enthusiasts who want an affordable sports car that is fun on winding roads and practical enough for everyday enjoyment.

Exterior Design

The Mazda MX-5 Miata features a low-slung body, sculpted sides, a compact front end, and flowing lines that emphasize its athletic proportions. Its small footprint and wide stance give it a purposeful appearance without the exaggerated styling found on some modern performance cars.

The traditional soft-top roadster allows drivers to lower the roof and enjoy open-air driving. Mazda has also offered the RF version, which features a retractable hardtop and a more coupe-like profile when the roof is raised. Availability of body styles and trim levels for the 2027 model will depend on the market.

Alloy wheels, LED lighting, and distinctive exterior details contribute to the MX-5's sporty character.

Engine and Performance

The MX-5 Miata has traditionally used a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre four-cylinder gasoline engine paired with either a manual or automatic transmission, depending on the configuration.

Recent models have produced approximately 181 horsepower, which may seem modest compared with larger sports cars. However, the MX-5's low weight helps it deliver lively acceleration and excellent agility without requiring a powerful turbocharged engine.

The six-speed manual transmission is particularly popular among driving enthusiasts because of its precise shifts and engaging feel. An automatic transmission provides an alternative for drivers who prefer convenience in heavy traffic.

The rear-wheel-drive layout contributes to the car's balanced handling, while its responsive steering makes it enjoyable on twisting roads. Final 2027 engine and transmission specifications should be confirmed when Mazda announces the model's official lineup.

Interior and Comfort

The MX-5's cabin is compact and focused on the driver. The seating position is low, the controls are arranged for easy access, and the cockpit emphasizes the essentials rather than unnecessary distractions.

Depending on the trim, features may include heated seats, leather upholstery, automatic climate control, and upgraded interior finishes. The soft-top version offers a straightforward open-air experience, while the RF provides a more enclosed cabin when its roof is raised.

Because the MX-5 is a two-seat sports car, passenger capacity is limited to the driver and one passenger. Storage space is also modest, so it is best suited to light luggage, small shopping trips, and weekend getaways rather than large cargo loads.

Technology and Safety

Modern MX-5 models have offered infotainment systems with smartphone connectivity, Bluetooth, and available premium audio equipment. The 2027 model is expected to continue providing contemporary convenience and connectivity features, although the final equipment package may vary by trim and market.

Driver-assistance technologies on recent versions have included features such as blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and smart braking assistance on selected configurations. Buyers should confirm the exact safety equipment available on the Canadian model.

Fuel Economy and Ownership

The MX-5's lightweight construction and naturally aspirated engine help it deliver reasonable fuel economy for a sports car. Actual consumption depends on transmission choice, driving conditions, and driving style.

Running costs can also be attractive compared with more powerful performance vehicles. Its relatively simple mechanical approach and established model history make it an appealing option for enthusiasts who want an enjoyable car without necessarily taking on the costs associated with a high-performance luxury vehicle.

Canadian owners should remember that the MX-5's rear-wheel-drive layout and low ground clearance require extra care in winter weather. Many owners choose to use winter tires or store the vehicle during the harshest months.

Final Thoughts

The 2027 Mazda MX-5 Miata is designed for drivers who value enjoyment behind the wheel over sheer power or practicality. Its lightweight construction, balanced chassis, rear-wheel drive, and available manual transmission create an engaging sports-car experience.

With its open-top design and distinctive character, the MX-5 is an excellent candidate for weekend drives, scenic road trips, and enthusiasts who appreciate the fundamentals of driving. Anyone considering the 2027 model should compare the final Canadian pricing, trim levels, and transmission options when official specifications become available.

I love my car. Living in Michigan, I needed a vehicle that handled well in snow but also with good gas mileage and being able to adjust the drivers seat is very important. After test driving several models, I was extremely impressed with Mazdas handling. I also love how the looks of the car. Its very stylish and its fun to drive. Definitely spend the extra money and get the navigation. I use it all the time. But I wish the rear seats were more comfortable. When test driving cars, I never thought to sit in the back. A word of advice, next time test driving, sit in the back and feel how your passengers are feeling.

Over the past month both my husband and I have been shopping for a new vehicle. Since we both have very different needs, it has given us the opportunity to visit multiple dealerships including Volkswagen, Hyundai, Jeep, Honda, Subaru and Mazda. Driving a variety of vehicles. The Volkswagen, Hyundai, Jeep, Honda, Subaru experiences were all pleasant. WITHOUT exception each of the sales people followed up with us with either a thank you email or phone call and WITHOUT exception each of those dealerships offered us water or soda while we were looking at the vehicles - particularly nice given the heat-wave weve been having. Now to the Mazda dealerships. Please note I use the plural. That is because my husband truly was interested in a Mazda 6. We have visited three dealerships in two states and have encountered the same outdated sales practices in all three places. I am not a mathematician but it seems statistically improbable that these practices largely abandoned in the industry would be independently retained by three separate individuals. It seems more likely that the corporation itself still encourages these practices - salespeople accompanying test drives? Sales managers insisting on speaking with you before you leave? Continuing to try and sell you a car youve expressly said you do not want? Frankly, I am doing whatever I can to encourage my husband to buy the Accord Coupe 6 cylinder. I love the car, the salesman has been wonderful to deal with and I dont have to dread what comes next even if we were able to buy the car.

Had vehicle towed in for noise in upper engine area (VVT). Towed in not to do any damage. They took off oil pan (was tapping not knocking) now this is a 2009 Mazdaspeed 3 with a k&n air filter and a street unit blow off valve no big changes and no issues at all besides the tapping. Well long story short, they took the bearing out (crank) and when i said put it back together i need a second opinion. Had it towed to another Mazda dealer who found out there was a problem with the covered VVT valve issues but did not cover the engine (34,600 miles) because of the air filter and BOV. I called BS but some stupid fool tech said my car was highly modified (what!!!) so they did not cover it and i paid out of pocket $6000 plus for a new engine. And yes i have video and written proof that they put the bearings back in backwards and ruined the engine for a simple fix. Since then, I do all my own service and have had 0 problems with 86,00 miles with the k&n filter and BOV. Should i be pissed? Yes! But I love my Mazda and I am sure they know they abused this customer with tech experience and knowledge of cars and trucks for 30 years plus and would think they all knew better when it is under warranty. This is where the term Stealership came from. Sad but true. Even worst I am not the type of person to hunt down these fools and drag them in court just to make a point and get my money back. I will (foolish me) hope they learn and turn.

I was once a loyal Mazda person. I loved the cars... until I bought a Mazda 5. Nothing but trouble. First there was the nasty habit of that car to overheat when idling for longer than 10 minutes, at which point the steering would freeze up and it became undriveable. A very dangerous thing in rush hour in Texas. Now, I have to replace a broken plastic cover to the tail light. Mazda made it so that you cant replace just the plastic cover. You have to replace the entire tail light assembly at nearly $500.00 just for the part! This is the very definition of insanity. I will never, ever buy another Mazda.

Windshield has chipped and cracked so that it had to be replaced and could not be repaired - 4 times in 2 years. Is Mazda addressing this issue? I am not paying for another windshield. There is clearly a design flaw - is this how they accomplished good gas mileage for this SUV?? Id rather pay the extra fuel costs.

Mazda Corporation in Canada has a huge problem that seems to be growing wee
Mazda Corporation in Canada has a huge problem that seems to be growing week over week. I purchased a new Mazda CX5 10 months ago. The vehicle drives fantastic. It just needs a lot of TLC. Paint is not evenly distributed leaving visible color distortions. Front bumper is not, absolutely not, suitable for winter driving in Canada. I went through a spray - car was to get the salt and grime off the car and the bumper just cracked. Dealer is telling me I hit something... No scuff marks, no other damage than a crack that starts exactly where there is a cut out in the bumper. This is a flaw in the plastic material that the bumper is made of. I will eventually replace the bumper but at $ 1,000.00 it simply is not feasible right now. The infotainment system is cause for long debates with the dealer and on the phone with Mazda Canada customer support. I have also put in a claim at the MTO (Ministry of Transportation in Ontario) to see if they are willing to see the point of a defective infotainment unit that requires constant attention during driving. USB drives simply crash, Bluetooth becomes grayed out. Needs a complete disconnect from the battery to resolve (plus reprogramming). Dealer states that they did a firmware upgrade but only tested for the GPS system and, since I keep that up to date (I had to purchase maps to be updated quarterly), it showed on the bill that the firmware already was up to date. That is not the firmware!! The infotainment also has a firmware that can be checked by pressing radio on/off and audio at the same time. Since the dealer made a statement that the firmware is up to date, Mazda Canada does not want to respond to any flaws or changes that need to be made. Music volume is just unacceptable. I had to crank the sound to 30 before I can even hear the speakers and there is a constant hiss at lower music levels. Dont even think of driving with the roof open. You will have to crank it all the way up to 45 or 50 (65 is the max). I purchased the GS model for this. The sunroof is a much welcome tool in keeping the temps in the car at bay in the summer. The OEM tires will not last for more than 40,000 KM by the way. Last but not least: the dealer will only work on any TSB (technical service bulletin) when the customer insist. It is not done voluntarily. Mazda Canada still claims there are no TSBs for the car - if asked why they are so secretive about this, they claim that all works as it was meant to be. The car, in their eyes, is perfect. In my opinion, the many test reports are flawed and I have also contacted these sites and producers of the shows with the facts. Also the Dealers insist you take the rust proofing and if you do the car will be ready in 4 days. I refused ant it took 2 weeks with the 3M protection film still missing. These tricks will be pressed upon the buyer when I thought I was done with the purchase. I have deep regrets I purchased the car. I will zoom-zoom for a little longer but this car will not last the full 10 years my (t)rusty Ford Taurus did. I do not recommend anyone to purchase a Mazda CX5 if peace of mind is important.

I have not had a single issue with my car in six years, it has been the absolute best purchase I have ever made. The car has also retained much of its resale value. My vehicle is totally manual, transmission and windows; the vehicle also gets great gas mileage. I chose this car because it was rated very high for reliability and overall value at the time I bought the vehicle. However, I dislike the clips that secure parts to my vehicle, and they break very easily. The oil pan fell off a few months after purchase and some of the interior clip ons broke as well.

I bought a brand new 2005 Mazda RX-8. I loved the car, until about 60,000 miles later when the car started stalling, even after I brought it up to operating temperature. It took about 6 trips to two different dealerships to discover that the problem was a bad engine that would need to be replaced. I was still under warranty. However, Mazda did not want to replace the engine. They said I did not properly maintain the car. After proving that I followed maint. schedules and all oil changes at Mazda dealerships, did they replace the engine. Now my new engine is at about 80,000 miles and the same problem! I need another new engine! But because my car is over 100,000 miles, Mazda will do nothing for me. They offered me loyalty offers for owning a Mazda. They refuse to acknowledge they have a poor product and to stand behind it. Because of this I will never buy another Mazda, and I suggest the same for you.

Year and a half ago, I bought a CX-7 2008. At first it was great, loved that car! It was perfect for our family and loved the way it drove. A year later, things started majorly happening. I noticed that the tires were wearing down fast. I had it aligned and rotated when I needed to. I did everything on the right time line, but still the tires started going bald fast. Then I took it in for a routine oil change and was told that the oil cooler was leaking. When I bought the car from a dealer, that was an issue, and the dealer fixed it before I bought it. Now a year later, it was leaking again. So I took it to my mechanic and he checked it out. He found that not only was it leaking, but that the engine was going because there were metal parts in the oil. I had to buy a new engine! Now 6 months later, the oil cooler is leaking again!!!! I asked the Mazda dealership why? They didnt have any answers for me. Now Im backwards in this piece of junk!!! And I have to have a car to go to work. I have a limited income because Im a teacher and when talking to Mazda, there is nothing that can be done.

Bought a used Mazda CX-7 July 2016. July 2017 the left front control arm broke while driving down the road. Had my mechanic make the repairs to the car. Sept 2017 I get notice that there is a recall on the issue that occurred. Had the car to Mazda dealer August 2018 and repairs were made as per the recall but now Mazda USA does not want to reimburse me for the repairs made by my mechanic in July 2017 since it was done after the August 10, 2016 date of the recall which I knew nothing about till Sept 2017 when I got the first notice of the recall. Finally got them to look at the info but now they are using the fact that I dont have a bank statement from July 2017 showing the repairs were paid with my Visa when the slip from the garage is clearly marked paid Visa. Big company just looking for any possible loophole to get out of owning up to their mistakes.

I purchased a 2014 Mazda 6, loaded with their technology package. The GPS was the worst ever experienced. The speaker in the front passenger door vibrated so badly it was hard to use the system, even with the bass turned off. The GPS would indicate a turn 400 yards away when basically at the turn point. It would then suddenly advise to turn, when almost through the intersection. The front drivers seat had limited settings. I went to Mazda for service and all I got was a shoulder shrug. I sent a note to Mazda and didnt even get a response. After 8 months of problems I dumped this car and took a loss of approximately $8,000. I have now owned about 12 cars and the Mazda 6 was the worst experience ever.

Mazda 5 is sharp looking car with lots of great features for an affordable price. Great experience driving for everyday and long road trips. Very roomy with the third row seating option. We have had very positive experiences in owning 3 other Mazdas. Great driveability in town, freeway or long distance. Gets good gas mileage. Has Bluetooth feature for answering and making phone calls hands free. However, it does not have power seats or lighted mirrors on the visors. Sometimes the catalytic converter has an odor of sulfur that service technicians do not seem able to smell or find the cause of when we have it serviced.

My husband bought me a 1998 Mazda 626 in June. In July I took to car to get a tune up and to see why the check engine light was on. When they hooked the car up to the machine they told me that the the first spark plug was misfiring and that it showed up that the threads from that spark plug was crossed. I took the car back to the dealership and they told me that someone had glued the spark plug and all my mechanic had to do was to wipe the glue off and the do the tune up. So I said okay and took the car back to Mekinee here in Raleigh. Well, they said they werent going to touch the car so I called up the dealership and they said for me to bring the car to them, I said okay. While Im on my way to take them the car, all of sudden the car broke down along the side of the highway. They came and towed the car, so the following day my husband who is in the military came home and we went down to check on the car and thats when they told us that the transmission was gone on the car. This car only has around 100,000 miles on it , now I dont know what to do and the dealership has completely stopped having contact with me and my husband.

My wife purchased a brand new Mazda CX-3 GS and after just over 6,700 kms, when put into Drive it would take anywhere from 6-12 seconds to engage and move forward. It didnt even make it to the first oil change! We brought it into Regina Mazda and they were able to duplicate the problem. We were told that a new transmission would have to be ordered. However, they couldnt give me any sort of a timeline and couldnt locate any available assets in their system. Its been almost a week and we havent received any update from the dealership. We were given a Mazda 5 for a loaner but had to return it as it was their shuttle vehicle and then received a 2016 Mazda CX-5. Still waiting for update. :(

At approximately 2 years old, my car started tripping the check engine light and AT light. So, I took it to the dealership to have it checked out. It had around 26,000 miles at the time. They cleared the light and said a cable must have been loose or something. Fast forward two months and again, it was the same issue. But this was followed by leaving me stranded. I had it towed and they diagnosed it as low voltage, but werent sure if it was the battery or what. They would not move forward until the battery was replaced and apparently on a brand new car. Mazdas 3-year 36,000-mile warranty means absolutely nothing. Even though I have regular maintenance at the dealership and had it in at 24 months for the light, they would only cover 25% as it was now after 24 months. Batteries have a 12-month warranty before being pro-rated. Keep in mind, once you replace it, the exact same battery has a 3-year warranty. The battery itself even shows 36/60 on the outside. I called North American operations and they blew me off. I asked everyone else up the food chain and nothing happened. They wanted $155 for the battery at the dealership or $100 at Autozone. Ultimately, I had to buy a new battery. Since Mazda covers nothing at twice the price, I bought the one from Autozone which is a 36/8 year warranty. Mazda then proceeded to charge me $55 to put it in. Save yourself time, money, and sanity. Dont buy Mazda. And if you decide to anyway, dont buy from Suburban Mazda in Michigan. I originally bought 2 Mazda 6s from them in 2009 and they will be my last.

A few days ago I jumped in the Mazda 2016 CX-5 and the console keep rebooting. The Mazda logo came up but then I never went to the home screen. Have no navigation, no hands free phone and the radio is stuck on just one station, the last station I had on before the system went down. Called Mazda and they told me they dont know whats causing the problem so I shouldnt bother bringing it down for service. I have about 47K miles on it. I did purchase an extended warranty. So now what? Wait for Mazda to contact me? They told me that they are receiving a lot of calls on this problem right now. But it looks like its been going on for a while now.

So Mazda has kidnapped my mothers car for 3 weeks now. My mom is not very well in English and sometimes gets taken advantage of and I feel like MAZDA HAS FULLY TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF MY MOM. We had my uncle call and my brother even called so this morning I have decided to call for her cause I wanted to know if she was EVER GETTING HER CAR BACK. She has to work so I called and asked for the person in charge of my mothers car and the little girl on the phone told me, Ok. Yes he’s in so she transfer me to the VOICEMAIL so NO HE WAS NOT IN (LIES). I left a voicemail for JASON and then calling back to Mazda the little girl picks up the phone and I tell her, Life is kinda hard right now for my mother and her and I don’t see eye to eye sometimes living together (I’m putting this nicely cause she really pissed me off) and that little girl had the nerve to tell me, You need to take care of your mom. Little girl you don’t have the right to tell ANY customers that about their family. You guys have had my mothers car for 3 weeks now with no answers. She bought her car in 2016 and how the hell does the transmission just mess up like that and then finding out they don’t even do an engine check in your car when you go and get an oil change. Stoney Trail Mazda has the worst service/callbacks and rude service people EVER. You guys need to work on your people skills and maybe get a new girl to pick up the phone for service cause she had no clue what’s she’s doing... One more thing my mother had to rent a car and pay it with her own money cause Mazda said that her plan didn’t cover it. They also said they would try there headrest to fix it and try to cover her car rental and NOPE that was another lie... Youre better off taking your car to another mechanic that!!!

The car itself is a cheaper version of a Toyota. Spend the few extra dollars for the Toyota and get a manufacture that stands by their cars. Mazda is having a big issue with the CMU chips failing for the entertainment screen. My car was 3 months past the warranty coverage and even knowing that they are having problems with these they refused to do anything. Even the replacement motherboards are failing. Without the CMU chip you can’t play the radio. This is not something that should fail after 3 1/2 years. I had to spend $1500 so I could listen to the radio. You get what you pay for. My mom gave her old mazda. We had no problems with it until we were stopped at a light and the oil light came on. 30 sec later the motor seized up due to a cracked housing for the oil filter. Out of the blue the housing cracked blue oil all over the bottom of the car and seized the motor. After talking to mechanics junk yards and other people on the Internet, we found that this was a very common situation. I put in a complaint with the NATSA the ph number is 888 327 4236. The more complaints the better the chances are of us getting our cars fixed to everybody that has had this problem.

This is about my second consecutive Mazda sedan I have owned. After I was notified of the recent recall of the passenger side inflator on my 2012 Mazda 6 I wanted to also have the drivers side one replaced, at my expense, and when it was later recalled (as it most likely would be), I wanted to be reimbursed for whatever my cost was. I first presented this request to the dealership who told me the cost would be around $700, because they said the inflator part alone could not be replaced. Because I am willing to pay this amount I then contacted Mazda Corporate Customer Experience where I was told Mazda could not promise any reimbursement but would “review” such request. Finally, I contacted two executives at the Corporation with this request. My last request to one of them was made by letter mailed by certified mail. Although the letter mailing was verified received by USPS, it has now been some 3 months and I have not received any reply and I dont expect to. My Opinion: This clearly shows me: MAZDA DOESN’T EVEN CARE ENOUGH ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS TO EVEN RESPOND TO THEM IN THIS SITUATION. This experience has now cemented my decision to never purchase another Mazda again. I probably should not have purchased this one because I had a problem with the moonroof not always closing on the last one that was only fixed because a friend of mine knew someone at Mazda that I was able to connect with who got the problem finally fixed after my having taken the car to the dealership numerous times and told they “had to replicate the problem” before it could be fixed.

Recently I purchased a 2015 Mazda MX-5, color zeal red. Damn what a beautiful car!!! I saw the car for the first time about a month ago, and test drove it. On the test drive the car accelerated on its own as I rounded the corner to enter the freeway. The salesperson sitting in the passenger seat said, Whats happening? Heck if I knew. As I depressed the break pedal the car accelerated. This happened a couple to a few times within about ten seconds as I would let up on the break and then apply the break again. Finally the car was back in control. The salesperson wanted to take over the driving so I let him. No problems the short distance back to the dealership. The salesperson said the car acted weird because I was most likely me getting confused in which pedal to use test driving the car. I purchased the car. I know what youre thinking. That I was pretty stupid for buying the car based on the test drive experience. Okay, I agree. The car has about 170 miles on it and this rapid acceleration on its own has happened a total of six times. I scheduled to take the car into University Mazda (This is where I purchased the car) on Nov. 25, 2014 to see if they could figure out why the car was accelerating on its own. On my way to the dealership the car dramatically accelerated on its own as I was breaking to avoid hitting the car in front of me. In order to slow the car down I shifted into neutral. The dealership had the car for one day and their guess as why the car is accelerating on its own is because I have the drivers seat too close to the steering wheel, and that Im getting confused in what Im doing with my right foot as Im driving. Hows that for high tech diagnoses? Forget the fact that I own a truck and Prius, and have had about eighteen cars in my life time. Ive never had this same problem with rapid acceleration with any of my other cars or truck. Look, I may have been stupid to buy the car in the first place, but Im sure not going to be even more stupid to buy some cheap dime store reasoning by the dealership for why the car is accelerating on its own.

Got the Mazda Tribute secondhand really cheap... runs really well... have not had any issues except flat tire and the key not wanting to come out of the ignition. Also, the gear shift sticks but I attribute that to the previous owner letting her kids accidentally spill a soda on it. It has grey color... spacious design... has cruise control that works great. I love any kind of SUV/Crossover... they have so much more room than even a large car... great for trips... modern and sleek design. But I wish it had better quality interior material and design. The car is secondhand and she had kids but they would not have been able to do the damage quite so easily otherwise.

Then recently this past Friday, a rock chip also caused the windshield to crack (14+). This car is not even 1 year old & the windshield cracked 3 times. I believe there is a design flaw with the windshield, or the process for making the windshields is not correct. There are cars on the road for over 10 years old which get rock chips and do not crack. There is a problem here.

I am disappointed with my Mazda experience. To start off with, I was lied to when I bought my Tribute. The salesperson took advantage of my inexperience and need for a quick sale. I wanted a car with Bluetooth capabilities. There was a phone deckle on one of the buttons so I said good it has Bluetooth. Not once was I corrected even after saying at least five more times that that was a deal breaker. I am on the road a lot and depend on my phone. I was told that I didnt need a 4X4 that the Tribute would make it through any snow and ice and have no problem getting up my sister’s drive because of the weight of the engine, and the space between the wheels was so large. I got stuck in the parking lot at work today. I had to be pulled out, not impressed. My starter went on my Tribute a couple of months ago. It is a 2012 Tribute, and the starter went once again not impressed. And when I got my car back, there was grease all over the hood. When people ask me what I drive, I say a Mazda Tribute and if they ask me if I would recommend it, I say no and would suggest not looking at Mazda. Pretty sad when I am paying a payment beyond my means, and I have to borrow a 4X4 just to go to work to pay for a car that is sitting in my driveway because it wont move in the Alberta weather.

Had Mazda CX 5 for two years. First two years the car worked fine. Third year had to be towed twice. Ended up replacing the battery & service cost me over $300. Now today again it did not start and it is ticking like a bomb even when I disconnected the battery. What a disappointment. Not to speak of missing my several work days including today.

Im contacting you in regards with my recent experiences with the Mazda deal
Im contacting you in regards with my recent experiences with the Mazda dealership in Peterborough Ont. I replaced a part on my car last winter after it fell off due to hitting a snow bank. A month or so later, the same part fell off my car for no reason. I did not hit anything. I took my car back to Mazda to have it replaced. After they looked at my car they then proceeded to tell that I owed them $30 or more because they looked at it and cut the piece off that had fallen off. They then gave me a quote for a new bumper and the piece that I had already replaced once. Which was over $1000. I refused to pay for a piece which I just replaced and told them I could not afford a new bumper. The lady at the service desk then told me that it looked like I had hit something with my bumper and thats why the piece had fallen off. I was insulted at the fact that she was trying to put blame on me when I had done nothing. The next day my father called and explained the situation to the manager and they then said that they would replace the part free of charge and for me to contact them to arrange an appointment. I gladly called them back and told them to order the part and that I needed to speak about finances with my dad about getting a new bumper, and that I would call them back. I called them back and set up an appointment to get the piece put on, but a few things came up and I wasnt able to go to the dealership. I cancelled the appointment, and the next thing I know Im receiving phone calls from blocked phone numbers that I have a new bumper waiting for me at the dealership and I need to come in and get it put on since I ordered it. They have called me numerous times and left what I would call rude messages on my cell phone an my home number. I called them three times on did not get an answer at the service desk. They have now informed me that they will be sending my bill to collections if I do not get the bumper put on. I refuse to pay for something that I did not order, and especially how Ive been treated. This is my first experience with buying a Mazda and dealing with them and I will never buy a Mazda again due to the experience. Im a good customer, I pay my bills, and never wanted this to go to this extent. I look forward to hearing back from you.

I have a 2000 Mazda B4000 pickup with 69k miles on it. I bought it new and have given it the very best of care. It is in pristine condition and I had planned to drive it for many more years. In the last month I have had two episodes of sudden unintended acceleration: I press the brake and instead of stopping, I accelerate. The first time, I was approaching a red light at about 35 mph. I applied the brake but the truck did not slow. I applied the brake even harder and it slowed a bit but I could tell I wouldnt stop in time. Fortunately the light changed and I went on through. It worried me, but I took it to be a fluke. The second time, I was pulling into a parking space in a strip mall. When I applied the brake, the truck rocketed forward. I slammed on the brake and was able to stop but the RPMs were so high, the drive wheel was still spinning. I flipped it into neutral and turned the key off. Had there been an obstacle, or heaven forbid, a pedestrian in front of me, the results could have been disastrous.I immediately drove it to the mechanic who has serviced it for all these years but could not demonstrate the problem so they could not offer a fix. I called the Mazda dealer and he assured me there are no recalls for this unit. I have searched the Internet and found many descriptions of sudden unintended acceleration, but none for a Mazda B4000. I love this truck and had planned to keep it for years to come. Now I am afraid to drive it. Any suggestions?

I purchased my Mazda Cx-7 in December 2009. Only one week after my purchase, the engine light came on (12.17.09). I took my car to Sussman Mazda for service and they replaced a valve. Shortly after that, the engine light came on again (3.10). This time, a timing chain/belt was replaced. A couple of months later, the engine light came on again with the car now needing a transmission sensor replaced (10.10). On June 25, 2011, the engine light came on again. I took the car back and was told that the car could not be seen until June 28. I decided to keep the car there due to the driving condition while taking the car to the dealer. On June 28, I never received a phone call and had to call the dealer. I was informed that the machine that read the problems with Mazda cars was currently broke, and they had no idea when the machine would be fixed. While waiting, I rented a vehicle, which was not covered by my warranty because they were not able to state what was wrong with the car. I was told that I should now pay for a tow truck to have my car taken to another dealer. I expressed that when my car was dropped off on 6.25.11, the machine was not broken; therefore, I should not be responsible for towing the car. The dealer indicated that they would try to fix the machine in the meantime and get back to me. While waiting, I contacted the Mazda headquarters concerning this matter. They concluded that Sussman would pay for the rental car. My car stayed with Sussman for about two-and-a-half weeks. Sussman dealer stated that they wont have a new machine anytime soon and they agreed to transport my car to North Penn dealership, which concluded that my car needed a new turbo and possibly a new engine. Im very confused on how a car, which was purchased not even two years ago, would need so much work. I recently picked up my car on August 4, 2011. It is my understanding after completing some research that the Mazda Cx-7 has had several issues concerning the engine in the later models. I conclude this letter by stating that service at Sussman was horrible. This is my first experience with Mazda cars and based on this, I would never recommend this vehicle. I hope that you can shed some light on this matter concerning engine concerns. Also, until this day, Sussman has yet to phone me concerning the rental car fee, after copies of the receipts were sent for over $900 in payment. I look forward to hearing from someone in the near future.

If the vehicle remains idle for 3 days or more it has to be towed in for repairs. The dashboard panel goes blank. Now, the dealership is telling me the cause of the problem is the engine failing compression test and thats a cost for the consumer when I have complained about the vehicle since day of purchase. Records shows each time the vehicle been in the job. The vehicle is practically new.

My Mother bought a brand new Mazda 626, this was a long time ago. SO long ago, that CNN news was just getting started. My mother was killed in this car while driving home from work, she hit a telephone pole at 45 mph. She was removed from the car and taken to the hospital where she died shortly thereafter. We were stymied as to what happened. No one knew, then we found out, way down the road, through CNN news that the car had a history of the ignition turning itself off if you had a heavy key ring. Of course there were accidents all over the US many fatal, some just injuries, etc. I found this out about this car, about a year or more after the accident. Recently I did a search on this Mazda 626, and I couldnt find a thing about it. Was all information removed about these cars, what happened, has Mazda fixed this problem? I hope so, as a year ago I bought a Mazda 5 which so far, has been a great little car. It took me 28 years to be able to buy a Mazda. BTW, Hasnt GM just spent a lot of time apologizing to its customers for the same problem? Wonder how many people died in the GM cars? Mazda didnt even apologize.

My car started hesitating for a couple of weeks. After my car was diagnosed and serviced for the alternator and wiring, another problem was diagnosed, a leak under the intake manifold (PCV hose). After the tuned of $1400 plus paid out, I drove it off the lot and the engine light came on. I turned around and brought it back. On 10/19/11, they kept the car. The next day the tech advised me that he drove it for 10 miles and nothing happened. My car remained with them again. They cleaned the connectors and tested the solonoid valve and they said it was okay. I picked it up on 10/20/11 and the same thing happened. They kept it. I picked it up the next day. On 10/21/11, again the light came on after leaving. I went home and called them. The tech stated it would cost me another $400.00 plus. What? I stated they should fix it because the engine light was not the problem. I brought it in for the alternator and wiring. What happened with my engine light? I took the car and went to work. There was no light on and then, the light was on, etc. Oh and by the way, they stated to me the valve with an open and shut flap could stay open or closed and I should not worry. They were lax in that statement. Do they not understand its my engine light? I have had my Mazda 6 for 5 1/2 years and never had a complaint regarding maintenance and repairs from the Mazda dealer before. What is going on? Or, is it just the Mazda dealers in Lodi, New Jersey? If theres a class action suit in the making, Im in.

I have a 2008 Mazda CX-9 with 139,000 miles on it. I bought the car because Motor Trend gave it import SUV of the year and due to its positive reviews on maintenance. So far weve had pretty good luck with this SUV until now. From the research Ive done and from whats been confirmed by both Mazda USA customer service and a local dealer service the transfer case out of the factory is in fact faulty and did in fact ruin the transmission. Ive done extensive research on this and this is absolutely a known issue that the transfer case is ruining these transmissions. Ive also discovered that the Mazda dealerships in my area are selling upwards of 4 transfer cases per week and often out of stock due to this replacement of the faulty transfer case coming out of the factory. I cannot understand why Mazda hasnt sent out a bulletin to its valued customers regarding this. I can only imagine the lack of transparency on this is due to the large financial impact it may have. I am contacting you to request that you take this issue to whomever can help resolve my case and provide significant financial assistance towards the replacement of my transmission and faulty transfer case. Ive been told that Mazda apparently has a software update that would fix this issue--but I find it impossible to believe as I have never received any notification of this being an issue or any software update to fix this faulty transfer case. I find it hard to believe that a software upgrade is going to fix a mechanical issue and cannot find any evidence of this software update being legitimate.Mazda supposedly makes a quality product and supposedly cares about customer loyalty and service. I would say that not telling your customers about a faulty part (known issue on factory transfer case) that DESTROYS the transmission and causes SIGNIFICANT financial hardship is not fair or reasonable customer service.

We own a 2010 Mazda CX-9 and we are having significant issues with the brake booster. We called the customer service department at Mazda and were told to bring the car in. Once we brought the car in we were very rudely told that we would have to incur the cost of inspection and possibly repairs. The brakes are hissing very bad and they are very difficult to press down on to get the car to stop. I was in the car with my young children and was very afraid that the car would not stop. I explained all this to the service department and they said that the part would be upwards of 750.00 and that it did not qualify for the extended warranty due to the amount of miles on the car. I cannot believe that with all the complaints about the brakes that they would not honor their car and fix it properly to ensure the safety of their drivers. I am very disappointed and hope that someone steps in and does a recall asap so there are no accidents that could have very easily been avoided if they would just fix their faulty part!!!

I bought a 2006 Mazda speed 6 in October of 2006. The car was in the shop more than out. In August 2010, I took it to two dealerships for white exhaust smoke. They stated that it had to do with the turbo and the motor was shot. They would not cover it under warranty. I could not afford to fix the car as it would cost over $5000. I gave the car back to the bank even though I loved that car. Two days ago, I get a letter from Mazda saying that they are now covering this repair under the warranty. I was so mad that I gave up my car and now they are covering it. If they would have covered it back when I first brought it in, I would still have that car!

Purchased a new Mazda speed 6. At approximately 44K miles, the engine blew (for lack of mechanical terms) at a repair cost of $8,600 not under warranty by 60 days but still under mileage (oh well). Was then told that new engine, turbo, etc. Would now be covered to an additional 100K miles. Now one year later, the car has a check engine light on. Took it to Mazda. They said it maybe a valve and would be $1200 to repair that. Somehow apparently not covered by the new warranty. On top of that, I had to pay $130 for the diagnostic that only gave a maybe result (apparently again not covered). 2013 M3 6-speed manual purchased at 27,500 miles in April 2015 with transmission problems since purchase. I only have to put gas in it twice a month, but the savings over the years will soon be eaten up by a necessary total transmission replacement including master and slave cylinders, entire clutch assembly, and probably the gearbox as well. Not surprisingly, after 2 years of complaints, Mazda techs were finally able to duplicate the shifting problem (stemming from a known issue and current class action suit) on a service visit just outside of warranty, and they blamed it on user error and normal wear and tear. All the reviews youre reading are true... Mazda does not stand behind their products after purchase. Skyactiv-Gs are ridiculously frugal on gas, though! 34+ mpg in mixed driving over 72,000 miles! My issue has been overall shifting crunchiness worst in temps below 50F and failure to shift into first gear multiple times per day since day 1 no matter the weather. Just buy a Honda or Toyota...the Mazda zoom-zoom feeling wears off the moment you drive away from the dealer and the depreciation is ridiculous, so youll be stuck with it until its paid off because no one wants to work on Skyactiv-Gs except Mazda despite being nearly a decade old technology.

I have previously owned 2 Mazdas. The last Mazda 6 was totaled in accident. As I recovered, I began to decide on a replacement vehicle. I was drawn to Mazda. The new 6s do not have the same sporty look as my previous 6, so I considered other styles. As we were test driving several vehicles, including a 3, the salesman pointed us to a cx-7 under the dealership awning. He pointed out the incredible deal due to the enormous vinyl windshield cover at $21,999.00. We test drove the 7 and decided on this vehicle. The salesman had us consider owning this vehicle versus another 7 with lesser options for similar retail. Inside, another man entered the cubicle to inform us that the windshield cover had been put on the wrong vehicle. I am familiar with signing and obligation, so relevance here is the constant. The vehicle was not just on the lot, but in a hot spot under the awning and according to the conversation, had been signed wrong since at least the previous day.I did not purchase a vehicle from the dealership that day or since then and have been deliberating on the most respectful way to handle this situation. I look forward to action to rectify this unusual situation.Cordially,Lucy

My daughter bought a new crv from Mazda, the car doesnt even have 70,000 miles on it now. Well there is an engineering screw up that Mazda knew about it, and put the part on it anyway, knowing the part was a screw up, and refuses to repair it at their cost. The vvt solenoid should be replaced because they knew all about it. Its really a crying shame that they have screwed over so many people. There should be a recall on this, but I guess they are sweeping it under the rug. Its going to cost about $2,000 to repair this vehicle. My daughter has 3 children and cannot afford this. She brought her vehicle to a Mazda dealership in Baton Rouge, La. To be fixed, Mazda did agree to pay only $500.00 of the repairs. Her vehicle sat at Mazda for 5 damn weeks and they never worked on it. They said they would try and squeeze her vehicle in, and even though she was going to have to pay the remaining balance which is 1,500, they still never fixed a Damn thing! So she went and picked it up and all they did was hand her the keys and said nothing. I Would never purchase a MAZDA vehicle ever! Purchased a 2007 cx-9 in 2009 from dealer with 19k miles. Great looking car
Purchased a 2007 cx-9 in 2009 from dealer with 19k miles. Great looking car. First problem was tire life. The original Bridgestone Duelers lasted 29k, and yes, proper inflation and rotation, and alignment. Subsequent sets met with only marginal improvement. Went with Perreli Scorpions, and Yokohamas. At 99k, last week, I foolishly purchased a new set of Michelins (60k warranty). My plan was to drive this thing until those tires were shot, and call it a day. Mind you, Ive met or exceeded all service schedules, to include flushing the tranny last spring. Heres a short list of the problems with the cx-9: Drivers door seal leaks creating excessive noise in cabin. AC controls are intermittent between front and rear compartment. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. Power doors refuse to lock as the indicator light states I have a door open. Both keyfobs failed, and dealer wanted in excess of 300 to replace and reprogram. I opted with using the hard key, but had to have that programmed. Passenger door window wont go all the way down. Dealer had two attempts to fix that, and its doing it again. Now for the biggies: 60K Pass side rear wheel bearing went, $500.00. Then, Huge clunking noises coming from somewhere in front end suspension. I replaced tie rod ends, and stabilizers with greasable Moog fittings. Still have the clunk noise. Learned this was due to failed lower ball joints on the control arm. I was heartened to hear that a recall was pending and made the appointment with the dealer after my tire installer confirmed my suspicion. Within one week of putting the tires on and Within days of scheduling my ball joint/control arm repair, my wife pulls up the driveway and the sound coming from the drive-train was like she was dragging a washing machine behind the car. I will limp it into the dealer tomorrow a.m. to find that at minimum, I will need a new transfer case. This is completely unacceptable! If you take care of your vehicle, as I have, this stuff should not happen! I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER MAZDA.... and shame on you Ford Motor Co for supplying the POS parts on this vehicle without proper vetting.

I loved my Mazda from day one. In July 2007, I leased my CX-7, AWD, Touring. In July 2010, because I loved it so much, after test driving several other cars in the same class, I financed the rest and kept it. I have proof of all my oil changes and maintenance to the vehicle. I paid it off nearly one year early with some of my retirement savings so I could enjoy not having a monthly payment for the first time in my life. I also put brand new tires on and another $3,000 of maintenance, replacing the cracked transfer case, leaking oil cooler and loose ball joint (as recommended by Mazda). I responded promptly to all recalls by bringing it right to the dealership I leased and purchased it from. In January 2015, my family was in the car on the way to the mall. The check engine light came on. My husband and I argued for 20 seconds about how he felt there were always problems with the car (I still disagree to this day with the always part). 10 seconds later....the engine shut off, he was barely able to steer the car down an exit ramp off the highway when the car completely stopped. Black smoke came pouring out of the hood. We grabbed our two toddlers out of the their car seats and I stood with them in the freezing rain while flames shot out of the bottom and sides of the car and my husband called 911. Ill never forget how I stood there with tears streaming down my face, shivering and trying to hold my babies while my Mazda that I trusted for almost 8 years, burned beyond recognition in front of me. Thank God nobody was hurt. We dont know what caused it since no warning lights were on prior to that and nothing was reported to me by Mazda service when it was in the shop not even 6 weeks earlier. The insurance money is barely covering what I put in to this car in the last 5 months. I wont buy a Mazda ever again, and I suggest you dont either.

I have a 2010 Mazda CX9 with approximately 23,000 miles on it. Last week, it was parked at the airport parking garage, and the power lift gate could not be closed, neither with the automatic button, nor manually, so I called the Mazda roadside assistance for help. Since the car was inside the parking garage, it was not possible to tow it. So, they connected me to some local dealership for some possible remote assistance, but the service center of the dealership was already closed. The only option I was left with, was to drive the car back home with the lift gate open (For sure, I didnt want to keep my car in the garage overnight with the lift gate open). Since the lift gate could not be closed due to malfunctioning, while coming out of the parking garage, it hit the concrete roof beam, and had severe damage.Mazda dealership found that the liftgate could not be closed due to malfunctioning of the motor. Since the car is within the warranty period, this will be fixed by them. But they denied to take the responsibility of the body damage, that was caused by this. Initially, they questioned why the roadside assistance was not called. When we gave them the details of my call to the roadside assistance, then they changed the statement to body damage is not covered under warranty. I understand that the body damage is normally not covered in warranty, but in this case, the damage occured because of the malfunctioning of the motor, which was under warranty. If the motor worked fine, then the body damage would not have occurred. So Mazda should take the responsibility of the damage that was caused by them. When asked what is the Mazda-recommended way to handle this situation, the zonal manager of Mazda told you could have left the car in the parking garage (with the liftgate completely open) and taken a rental car back home.

I purchased my CX-5 in 2015, and it is just at one year old. The windshield cracked, starting from the left hand side and reaches across right in front of the view. Researching this, it is apparent that many Mazda owners have experienced cracked windshields. There was no rock, just started cracking. Under warranty still, but the dealer will not honor the windshield. Replacement cost including labor is $850.00.Also, the tires on the car were nearly bald at 16,000 mi. The cost to replace the set was over $1,600 one year into the ownership, and Ive had to pay an additional $2,500 in expenses. If I had it to do all over again, I would have purchased the Honda CRX. So sad to give a company so much money, and have no similar consideration in return. And the dealerships do not take ownership of the problems; Its the Mazda manufacturing, in Japan. Ill never purchase another Mazda again. I hope this encourages someone to not purchase any Mazda vehicles in the future. Ill spend an hour or two at the dealership on Saturday to mention these issues to prospective buyers.

Right side control arms (front) need replacing. Price by Mazda is more than double to repair than quoted by my mechanic. At 85,000 miles, I need new tires. This will be my 3rd set. I bought a new MX on Jan 16, 2016. I already owned a 2004 MX5 that I bought new in 2002. When I bought my new car I asked if I qualified for the $500 loyalty incentive, which they assured me I did. During closing they did not have it included. The closer said it was an oversight and the sales mgr would take care of it. After the close, the sales mgr had me fill out paperwork and submit a copy of my 2002 cars current registration. He said it would take about 3 weeks to process. It has now been 3 months and I still have not received the $500. I have called the Mazda customer care # several times, and I have contacted the dealership several times. They say they are looking into it but they do not return my calls or email. I think 3 months is more than enough time to resolve this. Im very unhappy with both the dealership (Auto Barn, Chicago, IL) and Mazda USA for not delivering on their promise.

I have an 2007 Mazda B2300 truck which I bought in July 2010. On January 28, 2012, I noticed a leak coming from the differential. I immediately called the two Mazda dealerships closest to me, but being a Saturday, neither would take me that day. I had to get somebody to at least look at this, so I ended up at a Meineke shop, which Id been going to for several years. Leak turned out to be the pinion seal which I had them fixed. The following Thursday, I had to bring it back to Meineke, because the differential was making whining noise. Meineke offered to do the warranty work, and I agreed. I put a claim into Mazdas service contract. They then dragged their feet and called on a third party adjuster to come and look at the damage. After a week of the truck up in the air on Meinekes rack, per lack of communication with Mazdas warranty people, I had to OK Meineke to open up the differential, etc. It turned out the main bearing had gone bad. This adjuster decided I was at fault for not maintaining it and also that the shop was at fault for not tightening the pinion nut tight enough on their former pinion seal job. This was all a bogus excuse though. Nowhere is there any maintenance schedule for the differential in the contract nor in the owners manual. The shop had tightened the pinion nut the first time so hard, they said any harder and it wouldve stripped. Still Mazda denies me coverage based on this adjusters bogus theories. Mechanics say the bearing went bad causing a wobble in the drive shaft which in turn compromised the pinion seal, thus causing the leak. Differential was still running smooth and noiseless, when I discovered the leak and took it in. This then has nothing to do with lack of maintenance running out of oil or the pinion nut not being torqued down properly. I had to pay the shop out of pocket for part of the bill, as they gave me a break. They also paid for a rental car for the week, which also should be covered by Mazda. Local attorneys say this would really be small claims, but now Im searching on where to have papers served to Mazda as they have no real office in California, etc. Meineke shop owner and his mechanics are willing to come to court to give their expert opinion, etc.

Bad valve body??? I am not a happy consumer! I have owned the car for 45 days. I paid $31,000 for a loaded CX-5 Grand Touring. I broke down on the highway today. The dealership that I had the car towed to just informed me that it was a bad valve body. Maybe not a big deal to him, but driving a brand new vehicle with 4,000 miles and breaking down on a major highway on a 90-day waiting for a tow truck to arrive is a VERY big deal to me!!

2007 Mazda Miata MX-5 manual transmission - I am in the market for a more practical car so I have been reading reviews of the brands I am considering. Every brand seems to have issues and I just wanted to share my experiences with the Miata. I bought the car new in December 2006 and have been the sole driver since. It now has 110,000 miles and still going strong. The only mechanical repair I have had was needing to replace the thermostat around 80,000 miles. I just now had to get new brakes for the first time. The paint still looks brand new and I am constantly being asked if it is a new car. The only thing that has not held up well is the cloth upholstery on the drivers front seat but the aftermarket leather seat covers look fabulous. I LOVE THIS CAR! I have loved it since I drove off the dealership lot. I lament having to part with it for a larger car that is better in the snow and after reading the reviews, I am even more hesitant to replace it. If you are considering a Miata from the 2006-2015 generation, I can highly recommend one.

The vehicle gave no warning sign and Mazda okayed it with their full circle check, not to mention we purchase an extended. We have been mislead by numerous persons and our vehicle stayed there for 2 months with the same answer. We trying to have the extended IW pick up the charges on good faith. Not to mention this is the second Mazda we had a problem with. They’re a long history from day one with our RX8. If anybody wants to listen, Ill give the horrible service detail and lies. We pick up our vehicle and had to call an officer for instruction. The consequence is they kept our vehicle for 2 months with no phone calls or status what they’re doing. You dont find too many people purchasing 2 vehicles the same day and the RX8 shutting off on us for a 3 years period to finally replacing the engine. The Tribute is left for us to do the repair. All we are asking is for help and to get our point across so nobody has to spend their holidays driving around in an unsafe RX8, which me and my family relied on the Tribute.

I have a 2009 Mazda 6. I have replaced pretty much all of the bulbs at some point in the 4 years Ive owned this car (headlights, brake lights, turn signals, etc.). In total, I would estimate probably 10-12 times. A few I did have done at Valvoline when I had a quick oil change and they noticed a bulb out. But I have also had it to the dealer several times pleading with them to figure out why the car keeps blowing bulbs. Their answer every time just the bulb and bulbs blow which means I have to pay for it because warranty doesnt cover unless its a defect. Ive owned several other cars both new and old and never had to replace more than 1-2 bulbs in my life. Same goes for every single person I talk about this. Why is it everyone thinks theres something more going on except the dealer? So I dropped it off again this morning and they are already trying to tell me last bulb I replaced was passenger side and this time its driver side, so probably just the bulb again but they will do a diagnostic and my charge will be a minimum of $90 for that. Very dissatisfied with Mazda and the dealer (Jeff Schmidt Mazda in Beavercreek, Ohio). Very poor customer service. Do they really think its okay to have to replace a bulb in your car every 3 months?! I will never own another Mazda or buy a car from this dealer again. I strongly advise anyone reading this to do the same.

Help me please! My engine problems began at 38,000 mi. Dealership only replaced VVT actuator once, before stating it was over a year therefore they would not replace a second time without my covering the cost. Another dealership fought corporate to have it covered. I was thankful! Then real problems began. Two turbos later and many code lights naming everything under Mazda sun, I had the last ever illuminating engine light that would not clear regardless of what Mazda service did. I hate this company. It was finally paid off but I had to sell it for $5000, because it needed a new engine. Within 40.000[sic] miles our bluetooth unit in our CX-9 broke. No warranty and a $900 repair bill if we wanted to repair it. We opted out and are now using Bluetooth headset. Less than 60.000[sic] miles CD player goes out and we cannot load or take out the CDs and not even play the cds that are in there. Less than 80.000[sic] miles DVD player goes out. So basically we are back to good old radio only. Also one of the entry keys failed which is about $300 to replace. Sealing rubber on the driver window side is leaking and creates a lot of cabin noise. That said the car drives nice although it is a gas guzzler. So if you are looking to Zoom without any media and lots of wind noise the Mazda CX-9 is what you are looking for. The day before Christmas Eve 2014, as we drove out of a parking lot, our well-maintained 2006 Mazda3 started feeling bumpy. We stopped on the street, and my husband looked under the hood: the engine had fallen out of place! There was no warning. Our Christmas week involved tow-trucks, car rental, and inability to find anyone who could work on the car before the following week. We found out the motor mounts had failed, which seemed to be a common problem on Mazdas. Worst of all, as we saw online, it often happened again and again.Six months before, wed had the motor mounts replaced. Our mechanic found a crack in one of them and suggested replacing them all, with Mazda parts. Wed had no trouble with the car since then, and had only gone another 7000 miles. I spoke to the service manager at the Mazda dealer, who said hed never seen an engine fallout in the years hed been there. He said Id have to contact Mazdas corporate office; they made all decisions, and maybe theyd help with repairs. The corporate woman I spoke with wasnt overly encouraging. She only said wed have to have the car towed to them so their service dept could check it out.Merry Christmas? Customer service? Online comments made us doubtful that Mazda would ever help us, and I shuddered to think where wed be if the engine had fallen while we were on the freeway. We finally decided, instead of spending too much time and money on a car we could never really trust again, to buy a new car--NOT a Mazda. A photo of our good-looking Mazda3 convinced the dealer to take it as a trade-in, and have it towed to them. We only got 107,000 miles out of our Mazda3, the least weve ever had on a car. Needless to say, it will be the last Mazda well buy. Warning to other Mazda3 owners: every time you have your car serviced, have them check the motor mounts. It could save you all kinds of grief, and maybe your life.

This must be the only front wheel drive vehicle that wears out its rear brake pads and tyres before the front. Well, if you want to be mislead, lied to and taken advantage of then I suggest you come here. I went into Mazda back in March 2019 to test the CX-5, after driving it around and listening all the great features I started to become more and more interested in the vehicle. Zakou, my sales rep tried to get me the best deal. I explained to him I still had 3 more months left on my previous lease but he assured me it wouldnt be an issue because Mazda would take care of the remaining balance (which by the way, was written in the contract and stated in all the paperwork signed by them and myself).Well, to cut the story short, its been almost three months since I switched to Mazda, my previous lease hasnt been paid off yet although they took the vehicle from me, I have been CONSTANTLY reaching out to my sales rep, calling the store, asking for a manager, financial manager, ANYONE that could help me out and all I get is: I will find out what is going on and I will reach out to you but I never hear back from anyone, and the manager seems to never be available. The only person I was able to talk to was the manager for used cars who obviously had no idea what I was talking about and also promised to call back, but I am still waiting for that call - one week later-.I have sent copies of the letters from my previous car dealership regarding the missed payments and how this was reported to the credit bureaus damaging my credit and all Zakou (the sales rep) would say is that he passed it on to his managers. When I asked which manager so I could follow up he would say I could just call and ask for one and they would all know what I was talking about, which again, LIES, because not once was I able to get a hold of a manager, they seemed to NEVER be there, and when I would reach out to Zakou again, hed tell me the same thing making me even more upset at the fact that I was not getting any concrete answers. The last thing I was told by my sales rep was for me to pay the balance and bring them a cancelled check for a refund which at this point I refuse because that is not what I agreed on, and if I wouldve known that from the beginning I would have just waited out the three months so I wouldnt be stuck with two lease payments!! It is safe to say, this has been by FAR the worse experience with a dealership that has failed tremendously with their customer service. Their lack of attention or interest in my situation has made my experience so sour, if it wasnt for my contract I would have returned the vehicle already so I wouldnt have to deal with them.

Back in June of 2015 we purchased a new 2016 Mazda CX5 from Fremont Mazda in Fremont CA. Once we agreed on the price, the car was delivered to us in poor condition, the paint felt like sandpaper (it was not prepped right) and we found cookie crumbs in the cup holder and candy wrappers under the drivers seat. By the time transaction was done it was late (about 9:30PM), but even with the poor outside lighting, we noticed defects in the paint on the hood of the vehicle. The dealer assured us they would take care of it. It was late, and even with all these issues we took the car home, trusting that all would be made right. I could look past the cookie crumbs and the candy wrappers, but in daylight the next day, multiple defects in the paint were very apparent. We took the car back to the dealer, they had a Mazda rep look at it. It was determine that the defects were under the clear coat of the paint, but they were severe enough to do anything about. The dealer offered after some complaining to repaint the hood (could not guarantee it would match) or get us a VISA gift card for $500. As I was pretty fed up with the dealer, we opted for the VISA gift card. It took about 6 weeks and lots of calls, but what finally arrived from Mazda was a Mazda gift card, good for only 1 year, but for Mazda mechanical repairs only. What good is $500 of credit for repairs on a brand new car that has a 3 year warranty? By the way repairs dont include painting the hood. So now I have a car with defects that came from the factory that no one will do anything about. After multiple complaints, the dealer said, Mazda will make the next 2 lease payments to make it up to us, nothing ever happened. Then the dealer said instead we would receive a $500 check from Mazda. That was at least 4 weeks ago, NOTHING!I wish I could say the story ends here, but it got worse quickly. A couple of weeks after buying the car, a piece of gravel hit the windshield and cracked it so badly - the car is not drivable as the crack is along the drivers side of the windshield and quite large. The insurance company authorized a replacement ASAP. This was in early July. Turns out Mazda does not have any replacement windshields anywhere in the US as the model is so new, yet they continue in production somehow. It is now almost 3 MONTHS later and still no windshields available, no date as to when it will be, and no offer of help from the dealer at all.We have made multiple payments on this car since early July, have not been able to drive it and have defects that are permanent in the paint before we even got it home. The dealer not only did not keep the commitment of compensation for the paint, but offered us no help when we found out the back ordered windshield could take months to come in (and it has). We even checked into aftermarket windshields, but were told, they are also not yet available. As a consumer, I believe there is an implied understanding when you buy a new car, that typical replacement parts will be available, clearly not the case with Mazda and the 2016 CX5. We will never look at another Mazda, not because of what happened, but rather because the company and the dealer offered no help. I called Mazda corporate helpline many times. They dont return phone calls and when you do finally get someone, they tell you, you need to be patient, and we value your business, right!

I have a problem with my power steering pump. I had an accident last year and after the dealer had repaired my car, I started having problems with my power steering. When I asked if that problem could have been from the accident, he told me no, because the pump was in the back when actually, the pump is located just where my car got hit really bad. I took my car back to a different Mazda dealer, but I was told that my pump looks great and if it happens again, they will look for a different problem. But I might have to pay again for a new pump! What a joke! I just hope I wont have an accident before someone from Mazda do something! And to top it all, Mazda had recalls on this problem and they told me it is safe to drive like this! Im waiting for a response soon!

Yes, my wife and I have gone through five Mazdas in the course of fifteen years. We used to purchase European cars exclusively, but have since jumped off that ship! Quality control issues abounded with our European luxury cars. Anyhow, this is a Mazda review. First off, let me just say that people are most adamant about getting their voices heard when they are upset; it is human nature to complain. However, it isnt often that we will write home about positive experiences unless they were truly out of the ordinary. On that note, this has been my experience with Mazda in the past fifteen years. My wife and I purchased our 2001 Protege MP3 brand spanking new, off the lot, in late 2000 after our BMW 325s engine failed completely. We had the MP3 for about five years and clocked in 260,000 miles. In that amount of time, the trunk started to retain water after 50,000 miles. What did we do? We removed the plugs in the trunk to let water out; PROBLEM SOLVED. At around 100,000 miles, a clunk started to appear in the rear end of our MP3. As it turns out, the bushings were bad on the rear sway bar. We upgraded to polyurethane and problem was solved. At around 160,000 miles, the rubber intake hose developed a crack so we installed a cold air intake. PROBLEM SOLVED. In 2005, we were t-boned when a motorist failed to stop. Our poor yellow MP3 was totaled; it went to automotive heaven and was dearly missed. Overall experience with the MP3: smiles every time we drove the car. The MP3 did not have the best fit and finish, had a harder sport-tuned suspension, and had more road noise, but we felt so connected to the car each time we drove it. We decided to purchase a brand new 2006 Mazda6 S (V6 manual) off the lot after the death of the MP3. We loved the little 6, which was roomier than the MP3 and much more upscale. The double wishbone suspension made U-turns a hassle, but boy was it fun to take around twisties. In 2009, we decided to purchase another vehicle so we opted for the 2009 Mazda6 GT, which- unfortunately - was only offered in an automatic. The 2009 was certainly more of a blast in a straight line (much more hp than the 2006) but was somehow lacking in overall driving connection. Additionally, Mazdas decision to switch to MacPherson struts somehow made the car feel more tame. After clocking in 89,000 miles on the 2009 MZ6 we traded it in for a used 2007 Mazda5 (only 12,000 miles and a manual transmission! ) in the summer of 2012 because our family grew to a size of four (two more kids) overall. In the fall of 2013, the Mazda5s thermostat went out, so that was a $40 fix and 30 minutes of my life taken away. Afterwards, the throttle body on the MZ5 gave out on us in 2014 at 95,000 miles. It was a $180 purchase for a new OEM TB, plus $15 for new coolant and 20 minutes of my life. It was around this time that we decided to purchase a ‘14 Mazda3 Sport (manual) in February 2014 because my wife and I absolutely fell in love with the cars aesthetic. We drove the car out the lot at $21,500 with huge smiles on our faces. It is now February 2015 and we still have our 2006 Mazda6 S (128,300 miles), 2007 Mazda5 S (112,200 miles), and 2014 Mazda3 S (3,111 miles). In the years that we have owned the 06 Mazda6, we have only had to change the oil, brakes, tires, and coolant. NOTHING MECHANICAL BROKE DOWN. As for the Mazda5, the biggest issues were only the thermostat and throttle body, which set us back less than $300. The 14 Mazda3 is still too new, but no issues have arisen yet.Overall, our collective experiences with our Mazdas have been very pleasant. We conducted extensive reviews before our purchases and we had realistic expectations of Mazdas flaws in their cars (bumpy suspension, increased road noise, etc), so not once did we feel cheated by Mazda (or anyone else for that matter.) However, for every day that we drive our cars, we love the experience. Sure, they arent Porsches or Ferraris, but for the money, they were certainly a pleasure to drive. Plus, can you fit five people and 30 cubic feet of cargo in a Ferrari? I think not. This has been our experience with Mazda. Who knows, we might be outliers in Mazdas brand quality? We intend on getting the ND Miata soon as well. I hope this review was helpful.

We bought a fully loaded CX5 in 8/14. It was the best decision weve made. Because of my back problems, I need to have a seat thats adjustable as well as an upright position. The CX5 provides that for me. Last summer we drove across the country and depending on my back, I was able to make adjustments to make it very comfortable for when I drove as well as being a passenger. The safety features such as the blind spot monitoring, the rear camera, and the automatic lights and windshield wipers were so helpful when driving. I felt so safe in this car. Mileage was good too, the car still has under 12K and were doing 26.7 mpg total. My only negative is that the rear hatch/door is not power controlled. In a fully loaded car I wouldve expected that, but it was not an option. I do want to note about some of the other reviews here - people need to explain their problems better. Owners also have to be realistic. How one drives a car does affect brakes. Front end Collisions only trigger front air bags (not side ones). Injuries can be caused by not wearing seat belts. And yes, sometimes cars have defects, but tens of thousands of cars are made of a particular model each year. A few will have problems from the get go. This is why many states have lemon laws. But if 5 people report the same problem, this is not a defect. Most likely your car got that 1 in 25,000 bad part. In that situation, if you can definitely prove it was Not your fault, you may get the maker to pay for the repair. But usually you cant, so hope the bill is low - that’s all.

I own a Mazda CX7. I received the Mazda notice concerning the timing chain quite a few months back. I actually went to have the car checked due to the notice, and I found that there was a problem with mine. This is no lie, what I am about to tell you. On the way back from the shop, my timing chain broke! This caused an enormous amount of damage, and thereby I have incurred a huge bill to have this fixed. I contacted Mazda Corp and explained that I had no way to indicate that I have had all the oil changes done due to the fact that my husband changes our oil on all our cars. They said to me that I have no recourse and there are no loopholes for my situation. They will not honor the situation.I am extremely disappointed in the service and the behavior of Mazda Corp. I have recently learned that others have experienced this same problem. Even though Mazda knew that there was a problem and thereby sent the notice in the first place, they are still unwilling to fix the problem or take care of the monetary damages. I am asking everyone who reads this and has had a problem with Mazda concerning this situation to contact me because I am going to file a Civil Suit against Mazda, but we must join forces in order to do this. Thank you.

We leased a 2009 Mazda CX-7 (garaged and highway driven only). There was never a problem. The battery died. We changed the battery. Car started and then died. After one month, it again had been flat bedded by Mazda. They did a check and told me they could not find anything wrong with the electrical system, but they found sludge in the engine compartment. They had a recall on a valve which I never received in the mail. The car only had 17,000 miles on it. After 3 years, Mazda came back and said they would cover under lease or extended warranty, which I had. They said it would cost $9,500 to replace an engine with a 17,000-mile leased car and they would not stand by their product. I want to start a lawsuit on the car as I have had many leases without these problems ever and leased over 10 cars in the last couple of years with no problem.

2006 Mazda 3 - I had increasing problems with oil burning. I first noticed the problem when my car was still under warranty and mentioned it to the mechanic who said it was normal. My car slowly using more & more oil. I would check it weekly, at 8 years old and 138000 km putting in 1 liter of oil every 7-10 days. Last week had complete engine failure. Told I need a new engine. I think that is crazy for a car of this age, with this mileage that I have been very conscientious re: maintenance, oil changes, etc. Mazda no help at all. Since this has happened just through conversation in the past 5 days, I have learned of 2 other people with the same issue. This should be a recall issue. I had the same problem with my the locks (being kicked in to access car), Mazda was very little help. Finally paid for updated door locks but would not pay for damage done to my door.

My Four door Mazda 2 Hatchback is Black. It is a nice good car with basic features nothing too fancy. It gets me from point a to point b. I just pay way too much for it because I got with the wrong dealership. It was a smaller car with gas mileage good. I do not like big cars and maneuvering those so the outside size was perfect for me. Once I had kids I did not like that it was so small and no space for car seats and strollers. You have to scoot the seats all the way up in order to fit everything and that is very inconvenient. Now I am trying to trade the car in.

I would like to know why I got rust spot on the side trim of the door on the back by the window between the back and front door of my 2004 Mazda3. I had it on both sides of my back doors. The body shop said he has never heard or seen that before on any door of any vehicle. It is under the trim and the only way to fix it is to replace the whole door. So, I would be disappointed that I have a car that is this nice and have something like this. This is why I would tell people not to buy because there is no excuse for this to happen.

I had brought my car in for a check-up and oil change, and the check engine light was on. They did their check and gave me the car back but the check engine light was still on. I was told that they never reset it because I did not tell them that it was on, although they said that they checked all lights in the car. The car engine was making a noise as well, but nothing was ever said. This check-up was done just before my 160,000 km engine guarantee was up.At 162,000 km, my engine blows. I contact Mazda Canada and they say, Too bad. Your guarantee is up, and say that I missed an oil change. I heard that there are lots of cases like this and that there may be a class action lawsuit against Mazda concerning these 2.3L Mazda engines. I would appreciate information if you have any.

This car drives very similar to the vehicle I replaced- Lincoln Navigator. I test drove my Mazda CX-9 during a snow storm and I was pleased at how well it barreled through snow drifts. Its very luxurious and roomy. Also fits me in regard to seat belt since Im very short; many belts cut me off at the neck. Love the interior, including color. Great gas mileage. Im proud of how car looks and performs. But I have difficulty locking car from inside car while car is still running, or turned off in my driveway... And I dont like the exterior color of black - really shows dirt. I also wish I had a tow package...

Tribute recall notice - I received the 1st letter from Mazda last month. I took my Tribute to Premier Mazda of Georgetown (where I purchased it in 2008); they disconnected cable and told me to expect another letter from Mazda advising me they now had the parts for the repairs. I received the letter today telling me to call and set up an appointment. I spoke with ** who said to wait for yet another letter because the repairs were not being effective. This sounded fishy, so I called Mazda Corporate and spoke with Jose. He called ** at Premier Mazda. He was told ** had given inaccurate info and told me to call ** who would set up an appointment. I have called Premier and left messages to get a call back. I feel I am being ignored!

My 2001 Mazda Millenia broke my heart and my bank. I bought it from Duncan Auto in Key West. It was lovely and it still is, but the engine is useless. The hold light went on and the transmission began to burn. When I called Duncan, the dealer where I had purchased, they said that their mechanics wouldnt touch it. I tried some more local mechanics who had their way with the car and charged me heavy but still the problem persisted. The car could not be driven over 25 mph and I couldnt go anywhere without the transmission burning up. Finally, at my expense, I had it towed to a Mazda dealer in Miami. They said that it needed a new transmission at a cost of $6000.00. The car cost me most of my savings ($17,000.00) which was a lot of money for me and was the first nice thing I ever bought myself and it lasted only two years. This cleaned me out and I cant afford another car at this time. The car still sits in front of my house and forever a painful reminder. Do your research people and buyer beware. Thought just easy fix oil leak and when I went to fix it they want $429. Just for part and Mazda knows its a faulty product! They should do recall. Using oil and leaking terribly. I purchased a 2010 Mazda MX-5 Sport model in June of 2010. This year, the convertible top started tearing on the passenger side above the window. By the time I got to the Dealer, Beach Mazda in Myrtle Beach, SC, there was only one day left on the warranty. The car had less than 22000 miles on it so the three-year warranty should have been in effect. The service department took pictures of the tear and the odometer and sent them to Mazda. Mazda declined to warranty the repair. The service department again brought this to Mazdas attention when a Mazda representative was visiting the dealership. They again declined to warranty the repair. I sent a letter to the General Manager of Beach Mazda about this problem and I never received a response. I appealed the ruling to Mazda and they again declined to warranty the repair. I attempted to disputed this through the BBB Auto Line procedure but they wont help me because the car is now out of warranty. The top has now started tearing on the driver side in the exact same manner. Beach Mazda has given me a quote to replace the top and the cost is more than $1300 plus tax. Why would I buy a Mazda part if they wont warranty it? To top this off, Mazda is now trying to sell me an extended warranty. This is my FIRST and LAST Mazda. My wife and I have purchased 4 cars from Beach Automotive and I will think twice about buying another car there. The manager could have at least responded to the letter I sent!

It has been a great vehicle so far and its comfortable to ride in. I love how I just need the key fob in my pocket/purse and can lock/unlock with one touch and a key is not needed to be placed in ignition. It is very dependable. It is also very comfortable and fun to drive. I chose this for the third row seat to upgrade from the CX-7 I owned. I like the leather seats, sunroof, rear view camera, keyless entry and driving and fold down third row seat. But I would like for it have Apple CarPlay, more leg room in third row, seat coolers and better softer leather seats like previous CX-9 models have.
