2026 Mazda CX-70 Hybrid

The 2026 Mazda CX-70 Hybrid brings electrification to Mazda’s two-row midsize SUV, combining strong performance, improved efficiency, and a premium interior. Designed for drivers who want a balance between power and fuel savings, it offers a refined alternative to traditional gasoline SUVs while maintaining Mazda’s signature driving dynamics.

Overview and Positioning.
The 2026 CX-70 Hybrid sits as an electrified version of the CX-70, targeting buyers who want midsize SUV space without stepping into a fully electric vehicle. It competes in the growing hybrid and plug-in hybrid segment, offering a more engaging driving experience than many rivals.

Mazda positions it as a near-luxury SUV, emphasizing design, interior quality, and driving feel while adding efficiency through hybrid technology.

Design and Exterior.
The CX-70 Hybrid retains the same sleek and upscale design as the standard CX-70.

It features a wide stance, smooth body lines, and a long hood that give it a premium appearance. The front end includes Mazda’s signature grille and slim LED headlights, while subtle hybrid-specific details distinguish it from gasoline models.

The overall design leans more toward refinement than ruggedness, making it appealing for both urban and highway driving.

Interior and Comfort.
Inside, the CX-70 Hybrid offers a high-quality and spacious cabin.

Materials such as leather, soft-touch surfaces, and available wood or metal accents create a luxurious feel. The layout is clean and driver-focused, with a horizontal design that enhances the sense of space.

Seating is comfortable, with supportive front seats and generous rear-seat legroom. The two-row layout allows for a larger cargo area, making it practical for families and long trips.

The cabin remains quiet, especially when operating in electric mode, enhancing overall comfort.

Powertrain and Performance.
The 2026 CX-70 Hybrid typically refers to the plug-in hybrid version of the CX-70.

It combines a 2.5-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor, producing around 320 horsepower. This setup delivers strong acceleration while improving efficiency.

The plug-in hybrid system allows for short-distance driving on electric power alone, making it ideal for commuting or city driving.

An 8-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive provide smooth power delivery and strong traction.

Electric Range and Efficiency.
The plug-in hybrid system offers an all-electric driving range of approximately 40 to 60 kilometers under ideal conditions.

This allows many daily trips to be completed without using gasoline, reducing fuel consumption and emissions.

When operating in hybrid mode, the system delivers improved efficiency compared to traditional gasoline engines, making it suitable for longer journeys.

Driving Experience.
The CX-70 Hybrid maintains Mazda’s focus on driving dynamics.

It offers responsive steering and a balanced chassis, making it more engaging to drive than many midsize SUVs. The electric motor provides instant torque, improving acceleration and responsiveness at lower speeds.

The transition between electric and gasoline power is smooth, creating a refined driving experience.

The suspension is tuned for comfort, absorbing road imperfections while maintaining stability and control.

Technology and Features.
The 2026 CX-70 Hybrid includes a wide range of advanced technology.

It features a large central infotainment display, a digital instrument cluster, and smartphone integration. Mazda’s rotary controller helps simplify operation while driving.

Driver assistance features include adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and advanced safety systems.

Additional features include premium audio systems, ambient lighting, and customizable driving modes.

Interior Space and Practicality.
The CX-70 Hybrid offers excellent practicality.

It seats five passengers comfortably and provides a large cargo area thanks to its two-row layout. The absence of a third row allows for more storage space, making it ideal for families or travel.

Its size provides a good balance between interior space and maneuverability.

Trim Levels and Pricing.
The CX-70 Hybrid is available in multiple trims, typically aligned with mid- to higher-level CX-70 models.

Pricing generally starts in the mid-40,000 dollar range and can exceed 60,000 dollars depending on features and options.

This positions it competitively within the midsize hybrid SUV segment.

Pros.
Strong combined performance from hybrid system.
Ability to drive short distances on electric power alone.
Upscale interior with high-quality materials.
Engaging driving dynamics for an SUV.
Spacious cargo area with two-row layout.

Cons.
Higher initial cost than gasoline models.
Electric range is limited compared to full EVs.
Infotainment system may take time to learn.
Charging required to maximize efficiency benefits.

Final Thoughts.
The 2026 Mazda CX-70 Hybrid is a well-rounded midsize SUV that successfully blends performance, efficiency, and luxury. It offers a compelling option for drivers who want the benefits of electrification without fully committing to an electric vehicle.

2005 Mazda 6 GT head light bezel melted due to heat from fog lamps. After this occurrence, Mazda denied a third replacement. The newer model fog lights were moved to the bumpers; therefore, it was a known issue and Mazda chose to ignore this. 2010 Mazda CX7 GT NAV is outdated; Mazda refused to provide updated software, claiming NAV systems are accessories covered only by a 12 months 12k miles. NAV is standard equipment on GT model, not an accessory. It has poor material and design of smart keys - Mazda refused to replace broken key case at only 8 months old. Mazda Capital Finance bank does not inform buyers of limitation or guidelines, leaving consumers with the short end. I bought a new Mazda MX5... It is only a few thousand miles out of warranty. That is when my Air Conditioning clutch froze up (of course after the warranty ends) on the Air Conditioning Compressor and now it blows HOT air. Mazda wants $1,200 to replace it, so I spoke to Morgan at Mazda about this problem, thinking Mazda would stand behind it considering the small amount my AC unit was used. The thing is I live in the Mountains in NC and really did not use the Air Conditioning very much. I bet that AC unit has only been used 10% of the time... Plus, I have purchased 2 brand NEW Mazdas in the last 5 years. Mazda still refused to stand behind their product and cover this under warranty... I am done with Mazda. I will never buy another Mazda again and I am going to warn everyone I can about Mazda poor service after the sale. What a horrible way to treat your loyal Customers. Something similar happened to my Father and Dodge stood behind their AC unit even after the Warranty expired... Now my Father will only buy a Dodge. Mazda just does not get it. Mazda just lost an entire family and friends of future Customers. NEVER AGAIN...

Mazda 2015 - Im wondering if anyone else is having the same issue with Mazda windshield breaking easily when hit by a rock. We only had our car for 9 months and we had our windshield replaced twice already! The first one happened twice in one week after 3 months purchasing the car. Now, it happened again after six months. The first replacement was an original Mazda windshield, now we are trying a different brand to see if it happens again. I had a Toyota Celica year 2001 for 12 years but never encounter this type of problem, so I dont think its my driving. I hope they do something about this, because according to the company that did my car the first time, they have also had plenty of repairs done for the same car. Hope this review helps!

I have a 2008 Mazda CX-9 with 139,000 miles on it. I bought the car because Motor Trend gave it import SUV of the year and due to its positive reviews on maintenance. So far weve had pretty good luck with this SUV until now. From the research Ive done and from whats been confirmed by both Mazda USA customer service and a local dealer service the transfer case out of the factory is in fact faulty and did in fact ruin the transmission. Ive done extensive research on this and this is absolutely a known issue that the transfer case is ruining these transmissions. Ive also discovered that the Mazda dealerships in my area are selling upwards of 4 transfer cases per week and often out of stock due to this replacement of the faulty transfer case coming out of the factory. I cannot understand why Mazda hasnt sent out a bulletin to its valued customers regarding this. I can only imagine the lack of transparency on this is due to the large financial impact it may have. I am contacting you to request that you take this issue to whomever can help resolve my case and provide significant financial assistance towards the replacement of my transmission and faulty transfer case. Ive been told that Mazda apparently has a software update that would fix this issue--but I find it impossible to believe as I have never received any notification of this being an issue or any software update to fix this faulty transfer case. I find it hard to believe that a software upgrade is going to fix a mechanical issue and cannot find any evidence of this software update being legitimate.Mazda supposedly makes a quality product and supposedly cares about customer loyalty and service. I would say that not telling your customers about a faulty part (known issue on factory transfer case) that DESTROYS the transmission and causes SIGNIFICANT financial hardship is not fair or reasonable customer service.

I own a Mazda 6 2007 model. I have been very displeased with both quality and reliability of this automobile. The problems I have had: interior roof light fell out, clips on light broke, coil pack shorted, catalytic converter, A/C compressor, rod bearings (ruined engine). My family currently has 5 Hondas, 2 CR-Vs and 3 Civics and all bought new. Together they have over 600,000 miles and other than wear and tear items (tires, brakes, oil filter), have had zero problem. Honda also has excellent customer relationship department at every dealership I go to. Advice to everyone, when driving down the road, notice what brands you see the most (in parking lots, on the road) and go buy from them.

My Mother bought a brand new Mazda 626, this was a long time ago. SO long ago, that CNN news was just getting started. My mother was killed in this car while driving home from work, she hit a telephone pole at 45 mph. She was removed from the car and taken to the hospital where she died shortly thereafter. We were stymied as to what happened. No one knew, then we found out, way down the road, through CNN news that the car had a history of the ignition turning itself off if you had a heavy key ring. Of course there were accidents all over the US many fatal, some just injuries, etc. I found this out about this car, about a year or more after the accident. Recently I did a search on this Mazda 626, and I couldnt find a thing about it. Was all information removed about these cars, what happened, has Mazda fixed this problem? I hope so, as a year ago I bought a Mazda 5 which so far, has been a great little car. It took me 28 years to be able to buy a Mazda. BTW, Hasnt GM just spent a lot of time apologizing to its customers for the same problem? Wonder how many people died in the GM cars? Mazda didnt even apologize.

While the 2014 cx-5 has some nice features such as blind spot monitor, (which is kind of necessary since rear visibility is not that great) it has some quirks that I dont like. If you live in the hills, the fancy moving headlights are horrible, visibility on low beams drops off so that if you are traveling up or down hill you have to put on your brights to see. We have the touring model which has a push button start but no button on the door so you have to pull out the fob to enter the car. A minor inconvenience but the most annoying thing I discovered the hard way is that if the fob drops out of your purse into the seat, and you lock the door, you will get locked out of your car. We had Push button start Nissans for 8 years and if you tried to lock the door with the fob inside it would alert you with a beep and open the doors. In the Mazda, you just get locked out. The final issue is the climate control knob. Shortly after purchase, the climate control knob would not stay on defrost and the air wasnt coming out of the vents it was supposed to. We contacted the dealership and they checked it and fixed it, but a month later it did the same thing. We contacted them again and they said that Mazda was aware of the problem and they had to special order a part by vin # to correct it. We had it fixed a second time and its been 3 weeks and the climate control wont click into defrost again! The dealership has been good about wanting to fix it, but so far they havent been able to figure it out. The dealership said our cx-5 was not the only one with this issue. Perhaps they have fixed some of these quirks with the 2015 /2016 models? I wont buy one again. Im going back to Nissan.

Front Axle on 2005 Mazda 6 - I just drove from Clemmons to Wendover Avenue in Greensboro and suddenly the front of the car sounds like I drove over a boulder and the engine fell out. I managed to coast to Sheets Gas Station. The car would turn on but would not go forward in drive or reverse. Called a tow truck and took it to the Mazda Dealership. The front axle is broken... I could not imagine how though... have not run into anything or rear ended anyone. I just had the axle worked on in Hickory. Not happy but blessed it was not the transmission.

Back in June of 2015 we purchased a new 2016 Mazda CX5 from Fremont Mazda in Fremont CA. Once we agreed on the price, the car was delivered to us in poor condition, the paint felt like sandpaper (it was not prepped right) and we found cookie crumbs in the cup holder and candy wrappers under the drivers seat. By the time transaction was done it was late (about 9:30PM), but even with the poor outside lighting, we noticed defects in the paint on the hood of the vehicle. The dealer assured us they would take care of it. It was late, and even with all these issues we took the car home, trusting that all would be made right. I could look past the cookie crumbs and the candy wrappers, but in daylight the next day, multiple defects in the paint were very apparent. We took the car back to the dealer, they had a Mazda rep look at it. It was determine that the defects were under the clear coat of the paint, but they were severe enough to do anything about. The dealer offered after some complaining to repaint the hood (could not guarantee it would match) or get us a VISA gift card for $500. As I was pretty fed up with the dealer, we opted for the VISA gift card. It took about 6 weeks and lots of calls, but what finally arrived from Mazda was a Mazda gift card, good for only 1 year, but for Mazda mechanical repairs only. What good is $500 of credit for repairs on a brand new car that has a 3 year warranty? By the way repairs dont include painting the hood. So now I have a car with defects that came from the factory that no one will do anything about. After multiple complaints, the dealer said, Mazda will make the next 2 lease payments to make it up to us, nothing ever happened. Then the dealer said instead we would receive a $500 check from Mazda. That was at least 4 weeks ago, NOTHING!I wish I could say the story ends here, but it got worse quickly. A couple of weeks after buying the car, a piece of gravel hit the windshield and cracked it so badly - the car is not drivable as the crack is along the drivers side of the windshield and quite large. The insurance company authorized a replacement ASAP. This was in early July. Turns out Mazda does not have any replacement windshields anywhere in the US as the model is so new, yet they continue in production somehow. It is now almost 3 MONTHS later and still no windshields available, no date as to when it will be, and no offer of help from the dealer at all.We have made multiple payments on this car since early July, have not been able to drive it and have defects that are permanent in the paint before we even got it home. The dealer not only did not keep the commitment of compensation for the paint, but offered us no help when we found out the back ordered windshield could take months to come in (and it has). We even checked into aftermarket windshields, but were told, they are also not yet available. As a consumer, I believe there is an implied understanding when you buy a new car, that typical replacement parts will be available, clearly not the case with Mazda and the 2016 CX5. We will never look at another Mazda, not because of what happened, but rather because the company and the dealer offered no help. I called Mazda corporate helpline many times. They dont return phone calls and when you do finally get someone, they tell you, you need to be patient, and we value your business, right!

My car slammed to a halt, my tire disconnected and rotated 90 degrees. I have owned many older Classic Vehicles, and this is the first time I have seen this without a full side on collision. I called Mazda Canada, and got told the Car was out of warranty. As a result of there not being a recall on this part I am on my own. Well the short version is this; several years ago, I ended up suing Mazda because of the defective CD40 engine in the 626. I won, they refuted (with a new judge), and the win was turned in their favor. I still owed on the car with Fairlane credit. Both Mazda and Fairlane are owed by Ford. I spent close to $4000 repairing two transmissions on that car and now Im being sued to pay the balance of a loan I owe on a car that was a lemon when I got it. I dont mind paying my debt, but I dont have the car because it didnt work. There should be a comprise somewhere on this. Not trying to shaft on my loan, but the damages and near-death accident I had in the car as a result of the mechanical defect should be applied to my balance.

I purchased my vehicle 2 years ago and just recently got to 20,00 miles and had to have the rear disc brake pads replaced because they barely passed inspection. I called the customer service number and they said they would gladly replace them free of charge if I went back to the dealer immediately that day to get it done. I then learned that this is a flaw that some of the CX-5s have including the current models. I leased my vehicle so I will be returning it before the 40,000 miles when it will probably need them again. It is expensive to replace them every 20,000 miles when they should last at LEAST 40,000 miles. If I owned this vehicle who would have to keep replacing them when they wear sooner than they should, ME!!! That is an expense I can not afford.I also have an issue that when you open the back hatch there is not enough light to see what you are doing. I like the way the car handles in the snow, which is why I leased it to begin with, to see how well it did. I like the car and would love to buy another when my lease is up but I dont know if I will because of the expense of replacing the discs every 20,000 miles.

To all owner of Mazda 2007-2013 Grand touring model. This car has around 62 K miles on it and solely serviced at Peterson Mazda dealer which I bought the car from, in Huntington Beach, California. About a month or so the car was serviced as scheduled and the inspection revealed nothing out of the ordinary. I was informed that eventually, I have to change the brake pads within 6 months or so. There was about 1/3 left on them. Without any warning of any kind, the brakes quit working and the car was not driveable. I thank God that my kids were not with me. The only way I came to a full stop was to downgrade to the 1st gear and apply the emergency brake. I recall I was on the freeway and the car had to be towed to my place. I replaced the disks, put new pads front and rear and the car still was not breaking. I took the car back to the dealer thinking that the master cylinder was defective and need replacing and I was ready to bit my tongue and pay for it since my warranty just expired at 60K. To my surprise I was told that there is a factory recall on the brake boosters and the replacement is free. I was outraged by the fact that we were not informed of this potentially dangerous issue, and I was told that it is on the need to know or repair basis and that the dealer is not liable since Mazda would not reimburse the cost of the repair, which averages $400 or so. Thanks a lot, Mazda. It is almost as bad as the exploding gas tank from the Ford Pinto back in the days. Do yourself a favor call your dealer and let them know about those boosters. Your life is at risk. For the record, I rarely write reviews but this time I felt obligated to inform the public about the shady dishonest behavior that Mazda is conducting and my life and kids life is worth more than your pathetic $400. Signed a teacher and very unhappy customer.

Within 40.000[sic] miles our bluetooth unit in our CX-9 broke. No warranty and a $900 repair bill if we wanted to repair it. We opted out and are now using Bluetooth headset. Less than 60.000[sic] miles CD player goes out and we cannot load or take out the CDs and not even play the cds that are in there. Less than 80.000[sic] miles DVD player goes out. So basically we are back to good old radio only. Also one of the entry keys failed which is about $300 to replace. Sealing rubber on the driver window side is leaking and creates a lot of cabin noise. That said the car drives nice although it is a gas guzzler. So if you are looking to Zoom without any media and lots of wind noise the Mazda CX-9 is what you are looking for. We purchased a new Mazda 6 and were being pushed in finance to purchase an alarm system for $350. My husband asked if the car already had an alarm system from manufacturer and we were told no. My husband thought it was odd so he asked again and the answer was still no! We then decided to purchase and later realized we have 2 alarms because it already has one. On top of this our dealer quit the next day and no one told us, so we continued to try to contact him and the rest of the staff seemed bothered when we had questions. Finally I call the manager (Mike **) about several issues and he would not return my calls. On his email responses he was rude and angry and refused to help us. I waited a week to fill out the survey to see how they would correct some of these issues and then finally I filled out the form truthfully. Mike then sends me a nasty, unprofessional email saying that because we gave him a poor score he no longer wanted to work with us! We were shocked. After two more weeks of arguing with Mazda Customer Service Center in Irvine California, I was told by telephone call that Mazda engineers reviewed the photos I sent them and determined the repairs were Just fine, but they would gladly add some more electrical tape to the harness if I would like. I demanded to talk to someone in higher authority and was denied. I asked to have a report of their findings in writing and was denied. I just took my car to an independent repair facility for inspection and they agreed with my complaints 100%. Their estimate to repair is going to cost me and my insurance company $2600. Mazda is the most dishonest company I have ever dealt with in my life. I will never purchase another Mazda as long as I live.

Mazda 2009 - I have had my 1st Mazda since 2010 July. Well, first time I bought a car that isnt a Toyota. I have had both head lights go out, shocks in rear done twice, tie rod end alignment done twice and tires twice. My engine would accelerate for days past 15 miles. My brakes got stuck; I couldnt get off the expressway and missed my stop. I’m still under extended warranty of which doesnt cover any of these things. I took it to 4 shops to be looked at, Goodyear, Midas and Mazda, all of which can’t find anything wrong with this ** car.

My vehicle never made it to the service department, they kept my car and wanted to charge me additional to tow again. I was not able to retrieve my vehicle so I lost to towing company. I called the bank they retrieve the vehicle and repoed. The car was auctioned off. Now it shows on my credit report. Im having a hard time getting a vehicle due to open loan.

I love my car. Living in Michigan, I needed a vehicle that handled well in snow but also with good gas mileage and being able to adjust the drivers seat is very important. After test driving several models, I was extremely impressed with Mazdas handling. I also love how the looks of the car. Its very stylish and its fun to drive. Definitely spend the extra money and get the navigation. I use it all the time. But I wish the rear seats were more comfortable. When test driving cars, I never thought to sit in the back. A word of advice, next time test driving, sit in the back and feel how your passengers are feeling.

We leased a 2009 Mazda CX-7 (garaged and highway driven only). There was never a problem. The battery died. We changed the battery. Car started and then died. After one month, it again had been flat bedded by Mazda. They did a check and told me they could not find anything wrong with the electrical system, but they found sludge in the engine compartment. They had a recall on a valve which I never received in the mail. The car only had 17,000 miles on it. After 3 years, Mazda came back and said they would cover under lease or extended warranty, which I had. They said it would cost $9,500 to replace an engine with a 17,000-mile leased car and they would not stand by their product. I want to start a lawsuit on the car as I have had many leases without these problems ever and leased over 10 cars in the last couple of years with no problem.

I purchased a 2016 Mazda CX5 in late 2015. By the end of March 2016 (less than 4 months) I had transmission problems. I took my brand new Mazda in and they told me that they would check it out. They called back and said that it was the transmission and they would file a report with Mazda. They also said that the machine that manufactures the transmission was not working properly during the time my transmission was being made. It was also stated that Mazda doesnt know what cars doesnt have the missing piece. My question is why didnt Mazda put out a recall if they knew there might be an issue with the CX5 or any car with a transmission made at that plant? I bought this car brand new, why wont Mazda replace the car with another new car that has been checked for this issue? Fixing the transmission is not the same as purchasing a new car without defects. Up until now I have been a loyal Honda customer. I researched this car and heard a lot of good things about it. However after having owned a Mazda CX5 and seeing how Mazda has a total disregard for their customers, I will NEVER purchase a Mazda again.

Deceiving with its looks! Dont be tricked by poor quality product and expensive after service fixing. Feel bad for the body designer, talent wasted on rotten interiors. 2014 Mazda 6, replace batteries every 8-10months. Inside plastics falling off. Exterior plastic bumper covers falls off 3 times, forced to glue on. BT audio problems, and now... Transmission failure! With every single service encounter, service folk says its normal to have battery replaced every year and a half and then changes story to a Year and now. Under a year... Poor customer attitude. Service folk highly unprofessional. Biggest regret to trust this brand. Stick with Toyota or Honda. Want nice looks, wait and save for better.

After less than a year of ownership my MX-5 convertible was developing holes in the soft top from rubbing on the frame. I researched the problem and found several instances of this including a long term test done by Motor Trend that showed photos of the top wearing in the same exact spots as mine. Their top and others I saw were fixed by replacing the frame with a newer design that doesn’t rub and the cloth soft top. For some reason on mine they will only replace the cloth top. That will not solve the problem. The service department agrees with me and so did The person at Mazda I talked to on the phone but Mazda still won’t approve the frame replacement. This will be my first and last Mazda purchase! I have owned several new cars and have never experienced anything as bad as this. It’s a shame because I really do like the car otherwise. But if they won’t fix an obvious problem I’m not going to take a chance that I’ll have a worse problem later. Trading it in for another car before this new top starts getting holes in it!

Finally when I looked today, it was only for the V6 engine. When I called them today through corporate and service department, I asked them why not on the V4, and they couldnt give me a correct answer. If its within the year, it should be for all Mazda vehicles. I have been in so many almost accidents with this vehicle and Mazda wants to charge almost $300 for a diagnostic and cleaning the carbon out. That is ridiculous. I purchased this new car in 2015 and I have had problems with the transmission. When going from reverse to drive, the car lurches forward without even putting your foot on the gas. Because of it I hit a cement wall and did $6000 damage to the front end. After several trips to the dealer they finally told me that they were aware of the problem and ordered a new part. Well it is doing it again. I park in a parking ramp and I have to maneuver to get parked. Last week the car lurched forward again and did damage to the car again. Now back to the dealer and I am sure they will once again tell me I dont know how to drive. Parking attendants have had the same issue and hit a planter when the car lurched forward. I regret the day I ever purchased this vehicle. I just do NOT want to own it anymore because it is not safe.

2010 Mazda 3 - Another one bites the dust. I work from the house, do mainly highway driving and put about 100 miles a week if that on the car right now. I was driving on the highway and RPM started to rev up; I couldnt switch gears and clutch gave out from underneath me. Luckily, I was able to roll off the highway when I noticed the problem. Of course, one problem leads to another. The battery then died at the shop. I had to replace it as well. This comes not even a month after the rotors for brakes hit the fan. This has got to be one of the most problematic cars I have seen. A clutch dying in less than 3 years and the worst part is my car was due off its lease next month. I assume this to be a manufacturer defect, and maybe one day they will admit to a faulty clutch. As for customer service, its some of the worst I have ever seen. They review your concerns with an eraser or write with one. Horrible company and car!

Had many problems from the start, dealer service was no help. Things kept getting worse. When I got it tire psi was at 49 psi, should be at 29. Adjustment cams on control arms off zero so toe in front back out of alignment, wears out tires fast. When I locked car the gas door pops open. Tables constantly reboots when it’s driven in the rain or when it’s washed, there’s a terrible film on the windshield and it’s pitted. One mechanic says it looks like a new muffler was put on, the body sags about an inch left rear wheel and clanked until a friend fixed, still sags a little at 22,000 miles. Lose inside panel. Overheats when idling. Dealer service is horrible, been to 5. Refused to refund extended maintenance. Dealer cashed my refund from Warrantech, kept money. Warrantech sent me a second check and then the dealer wants me to give them that money so they can take their cut and send back to me. Mazda North America is no help. There are other problems. This is my third new Mazda lemon.

I think that is crazy for a car of this age, with this mileage that I have been very conscientious re: maintenance, oil changes, etc. Mazda no help at all. Since this has happened just through conversation in the past 5 days, I have learned of 2 other people with the same issue. This should be a recall issue. Was shopping for CX-5, and when you know how difficult and stressful it is
Was shopping for CX-5, and when you know how difficult and stressful it is to deal with dealership, you know how great it is to be taken care by a great sales person. For the first time I walked in, Mr. Jason **, took care of me with no pressure, taking the time to answer all my questions, printing me clear and detailed sales offers for financing and leasing, and for the first time in my experience, was trustworthy! Went several times to meet him for questions, until the time we were going to sign for lease. Provided him with all requested necessary documents and information the evening before. On May 30th, 2018, after 3 hours spent with him with all paperwork’s, we had to wait for his Financial Manager Nick, who was supposedly too busy in assisting other clients, when his office was empty. Jason could not even have an appointment schedule from this busy person. He asked me to pay half of the deposit to hold the car for me, and charged my credit card. Therefore, he asked me to come the next day, May 31st, in confirming that Nick would call me to set up an appointment, and to confirm me the credit approval and monthly payments amount. Waited until 1:40PM to contact Jason because I have not received any feedback from anyone. Around 2:00PM, Jason texted me back in apologizing that he was assisting clients, but no information regarding appointment, credit approval or anything related to the lease offer. Only because the Financial Manager is again too busy and so well organized that he cannot delivered. Explained to Jason, that if they are not interested by my potential account, it will force me to seek for another dealer offer in order to not lose the benefit of 0% interest financing/lease special May sales. At 3:00PM, just a quick text to let me know I was approved for the amount, but no appointment still... After many back and forth with several Mazda dealerships, I accepted another offer to get my car ready that evening at the last minute! Texted back to Jason to express my disappointment about his Financial Manager and the General Manager of this dealership, who both let him down and made him lose the sale. Also requested to be refunded of my deposit charged on my credit card.As of June 4th, no news about either my refund, or a call from any Manager to apologize or anything else. So, I called to speak with Mr. Mark ** who is registered on BBB as General Manager, but no one as his phone or can transfer my call... Called 4 times to be transferred on voicemail, so asked to General Manager to call me back, and left them all information needed to understand the situation. Mr. Chris **, General Manager called me back, but had no information about the situation. Expressed my disappointment about the way his dealership is operated, his Financial Manager who did not delivered, how it is a shame to not support and provide resources to his great sales persons to close sales, and claimed for my refund. He asked my credit card number again, because he claimed no one will have it and it is the only way I could receive my refund... wonder what they do with card receipts after you pay, and may be they do have a shoe box accounting records systems! He also told me not to be worry about his management style… Provided him with my card information, and he claimed I will be refunded same day. He told me that he would talk with his Financial Manager to understand the situation, but I advised him to talk with Mr. Jason ** who lost the sale because of Financial Manager.I feel very sorry for Jason because, from the beginning to the end of the process during my 4 visits, he offered me a great service and beyond expectations compared to all dealerships from several brands I went to for months for car shopping. He was a trustworthy sales persons (which is very rare) with a consultant approach, very patient with me in explaining in details all my questions, and professional. Even this dealership is 1 hour drive from where I live, I really wanted to close the sales with him. In summary, I would not recommend this dealership if you don’t have the time to be lied around, and have to wait for the Financial Manager to deign to do his job professionally. If you are not in hurry, well then asked for Mr. Jason ** who is the person I would recommend.

We just discovered a leak on the passenger side floor area when the AC is on. Removed the mat and the carpet was soaked. Musty smell followed. The dealer said that he had never heard this complaint for this model but did list a number of other models where the AC drain was clogged and required unclogging. Fine. This should not be happening. It will cost their hourly rate to diagnose the problem. Sounds like a design issue. On the drivers side there has also been a leak that occurs after a big rain. The water is puddled on the mat. The passenger side trickles down and under the mat. Any feedback would be helpful.

2012 CX9 Transmission failure. I bought a new CX9 in 2013, primarily because we wanted a reliable car for my wife. It was a good car up until about the summer of 2019 when the transmission started to shudder in 5/6 gears. With only 118K miles, we took it to the dealer and they confirmed the torque converter was bad. So I was 18k miles past my extended warranty mileage and I was told it would cost me $3600 for a new transmission...and could be more if the front transaxle has issues. This was our first Mazda and we are so disappointed in the quality of these cars and with the response from mazda...which was no response. Ive owned many cars and never had any transmission issues of this magnitude. So going forward, I will only buy Honda or Toyota cars. Mazda should be ashamed of putting out this crap to consumers and sticking them (us) with a bill that we cant afford.

MAZDA 3 SkyActive - I have only 2200 miles on this auto and it has a peculiar issue. When driving at various speeds, when you press the brake to slow down and stop, this car revs from roughly 1000 RPM to almost 3,000 RPM. This causes the car not to want to stop even when pressing down on the brake. This car is dangerous to drive for wife and myself due to this various serious issue. This has happened about 6 times this year and I bought the car new. I keep it parked most of the time of having the fear of creating an accident if I cant stop and hit the car in front of me.I even took out the floor mat in front, checked the front floor for object, and clearances and everything looks good. I even am careful to the footwear that I drive in so that wont cause any problems. My wife refuses to drive the car at all. I have taken this car into service 2 times and the dealer told me that there was no apparent problem and had no issues. They did say that they had to adjust the engine a bit to keep it running smoother, case closed. Not so! This keeps occurring and I want to know if this has been an ongoing issue with this tin can or is the car I own a lemon? This is a very, very dangerous situation and if no one gets killed or hurt it could become a case for a class action lawsuit like Toyota a few years ago. I have never had this type of problem happen with any car that I have previously owned. The problem about should be brought to someones attention for everyone out there.

I own a 2006 Mazda 6. I purchased the vehicle in September of 08 with 20,000 miles, and all remaining warranty in force. In June of 2011, the check engine light comes on, and the engine begins to make a loud noise. I immediately had the car towed to the dealer, who notified me the next day that I will need a new engine. At this point, the car has 42,000 miles on it. The cost will be $6,600 for a brand new engine; they will only provide warranty for one (1) year, and because my warranty was up a few months prior, they will not stand behind it.While speaking to somebody from the Mazda corporate office, I was given only given a “sorry about your luck” attitude. As a result of the cost, I sent the vehicle to an independent mechanic, who replaced the engine with a used engine that has warranty for three years. I was also informed that there is a well known issue with Mazda engines, but the company refuses to stand behind their product, or remedy the problem.I dont think its unrealistic to expect a vehicle to last longer than 5 years (that only has 42,000 miles, and with only 20,000 miles is mine). Clearly by just reading problems posted online, there are many issues with Mazda products. Judging from my experience, speaking to somebody from their corporate office who would neither allow me to speak to anyone with authority, or offer any resolution to the problem to keep a customer, I certainly will not be purchasing any of their products in the future, and I would advise anyone I know to look elsewhere.

I purchased a 2014 Mazda 6, loaded with their technology package. The GPS was the worst ever experienced. The speaker in the front passenger door vibrated so badly it was hard to use the system, even with the bass turned off. The GPS would indicate a turn 400 yards away when basically at the turn point. It would then suddenly advise to turn, when almost through the intersection. The front drivers seat had limited settings. I went to Mazda for service and all I got was a shoulder shrug. I sent a note to Mazda and didnt even get a response. After 8 months of problems I dumped this car and took a loss of approximately $8,000. About a week or so later, I actually took notice that a/c was not working as good as it did before serviced by Mazda, and as a normal routine of checking fluid levels, I also noticed that the oil was low. On 9/25/11, I called the Mazda service department and spoke to Lee. I informed him the exact information and he told me to bring my car in for service. So, I schedule an appointment for 9/27/11 at 2:15 pm.I went in just to be told that in order for Mazda to service the car, I would have to pay $129 for the a/c and that if oil was short, I would not have a problem unless it was below low. I did explain to him that my husband had to put in a quarter of oil because it was so low. He suggested that I bring it back for another oil change and they would deduct a quarter off the amount. He was not willing to consider by chance that air was leaked out of the car by Mazda technician and not enough oil was put in the car by Mazda. He never stated over the phone about paying for them to check a/c or anything. I drove from another city just for poor service once again.

My Mazda 2010 CX7 is at the dealer and it needs the timing chain and the turbo charger to be replaced. The car has only 39,450 miles on it and I have sent Mazda warranty department copies of oil changes much more than they required and they denied to fix these parts due to sludge in the engine due to lack of oil changes. I have changed the oil and filter in my vehicle approximately every 3400 miles of which Mazda requires at every 7500 miles. They are stating that it is not a manufacturer defect but lack of maintenance. This is false. It is all over the internet that similar problems have occurred time and time again with the CX7 from 2007. Now Mazda is refusing to warrant the work based on sludge. The car is defective and it gets too hot thats why if there is sludge, it builds up the car. It is not made right. The warranty states that these parts are covered up to 6 years or 60,000 miles. I am well out of that range at 3 years 39,000 miles. Mazda needs to address this ongoing problem and start taking responsibility for the defects.

My 2008 Mazda Cx9 went into flames while parked in front of the house. Horrible times. Had to get the kids out right next to the burning car. I had a transmission problem before, which took a lot of money and effort to repair. I was ok with it, but a car that burns while parked is something I will never accept.

Well, guess what? That vibration that they supposedly fixed (with used parts - that I did not authorize) - still rears it head every now and then. I got stuck with the car and they had to change the valve body - on a brand new car that had roughly 3000 miles on it (yes, that is 3 thousand miles) and ever since I have a hard downshift that although the tech tells me he feels, the dealership repair center tells me is normal - this is of course after I returned it because of the hard downshift and the Rep told me that the computer needed to relearn my driving habits. Almost 1000 miles later, it is still doing it.NOW for the new problems. Yesterday I went to shift out of park and the transmission did not shift. 3 times I tried, finally it shifted. This morning I went to start my car via remote and I kept getting a P code on the fob. Book says its because the car was not in PARK. (Um yeah okay - car was parked in the driveway since 6pm the night before... and shut off). Cant wait for the BS they tell me now... Do yourself a favor. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER MAZDA. NO ONE - I REPEAT - NO ONE IS HELPFUL AND ALL THEY DO IS LIE TO YOU.

I purchased my Mazda Cx-7 in December 2009. Only one week after my purchase, the engine light came on (12.17.09). I took my car to Sussman Mazda for service and they replaced a valve. Shortly after that, the engine light came on again (3.10). This time, a timing chain/belt was replaced. A couple of months later, the engine light came on again with the car now needing a transmission sensor replaced (10.10). On June 25, 2011, the engine light came on again. I took the car back and was told that the car could not be seen until June 28. I decided to keep the car there due to the driving condition while taking the car to the dealer. On June 28, I never received a phone call and had to call the dealer. I was informed that the machine that read the problems with Mazda cars was currently broke, and they had no idea when the machine would be fixed. While waiting, I rented a vehicle, which was not covered by my warranty because they were not able to state what was wrong with the car. I was told that I should now pay for a tow truck to have my car taken to another dealer. I expressed that when my car was dropped off on 6.25.11, the machine was not broken; therefore, I should not be responsible for towing the car. The dealer indicated that they would try to fix the machine in the meantime and get back to me. While waiting, I contacted the Mazda headquarters concerning this matter. They concluded that Sussman would pay for the rental car. My car stayed with Sussman for about two-and-a-half weeks. Sussman dealer stated that they wont have a new machine anytime soon and they agreed to transport my car to North Penn dealership, which concluded that my car needed a new turbo and possibly a new engine. Im very confused on how a car, which was purchased not even two years ago, would need so much work. I recently picked up my car on August 4, 2011. It is my understanding after completing some research that the Mazda Cx-7 has had several issues concerning the engine in the later models. I conclude this letter by stating that service at Sussman was horrible. This is my first experience with Mazda cars and based on this, I would never recommend this vehicle. I hope that you can shed some light on this matter concerning engine concerns. Also, until this day, Sussman has yet to phone me concerning the rental car fee, after copies of the receipts were sent for over $900 in payment. I look forward to hearing from someone in the near future.

This is my 3rd Mazda, if I ever have need to buy another car it will also be a Mazda, but my last one later 17 years so I may never need another one if this one lasts that long, too. I like that its strong, reliable, and has decent mileage. Its a great color, charcoal grey. I feel sexy driving this car. I feel like the brakes are completely reliable as well. But my model is a bit sporty for me. Id also like to sit a little higher and have better visibility especially the back window. Id love one of those backup cameras as well.

Driving home three weeks ago, the check oil light came on in my car. As I was trying to exit to a safe location (I was on the highway), the check engine light came on and then the battery light came on. The engine was shot. I purchased the car last July. Mazda claims it was a faulty oil change and they will not cover the cost of the new engine. The car cost me $18,000. I purchased it last year after I got hit in an automobile accident that left my previous car totaled. I paid for the Mazda 2 in full. Now Continental Mazda in Naperville, IL is stating I need to spend another $5300 on a new engine due to a faulty oil change. Im devastated. They will not help me out nor will the $20 oil change company (obviously). Mazda needs to make this wrong situation right again.

I bought my 2021 Mazda CX-5 in February of 2021 in Saint Louis, Missouri. I travel for work and I am currently in Flagstaff, Arizona. My vehicle began making a roaring sound from the passenger side tire. I thought it was odd because my car only has 30,000 miles on it. I took it to a local mechanic because the closest Mazda dealership is over 100 miles away. And I did not feel comfortable driving it. Turns out my wheel bearing is bad. I called Mazda customer service and they said “Yes that wheel bearings are covered under warranty, and they can call for a tow truck but there is no guarantee that a tow truck will be able to come get it, and if they do there will be no guarantee that it can be dropped back off. I have no other vehicle to pick it up. I asked if I could just take my vehicle to a mechanic and have them repair it and be reimbursed and the customer service rep said, “no it will have to be a Mazda dealership for warranty to cover it.”In conclusion, there is no guarantee that my vehicle will be picked up, and if it is there is no guarantee that it will be dropped off. Also no reimbursement so I am paying out of pocket. What is the point of a “warranty” that does not give you options to repair your vehicle? The customer service rep said she would transfer me to her supervisor and that she also sent her my number in case we got disconnected. She hung up the phone and I never received a call from her supervisor. Mazda warranty is **.

Well, if you want to be mislead, lied to and taken advantage of then I suggest you come here. I went into Mazda back in March 2019 to test the CX-5, after driving it around and listening all the great features I started to become more and more interested in the vehicle. Zakou, my sales rep tried to get me the best deal. I explained to him I still had 3 more months left on my previous lease but he assured me it wouldnt be an issue because Mazda would take care of the remaining balance (which by the way, was written in the contract and stated in all the paperwork signed by them and myself).Well, to cut the story short, its been almost three months since I switched to Mazda, my previous lease hasnt been paid off yet although they took the vehicle from me, I have been CONSTANTLY reaching out to my sales rep, calling the store, asking for a manager, financial manager, ANYONE that could help me out and all I get is: I will find out what is going on and I will reach out to you but I never hear back from anyone, and the manager seems to never be available. The only person I was able to talk to was the manager for used cars who obviously had no idea what I was talking about and also promised to call back, but I am still waiting for that call - one week later-.I have sent copies of the letters from my previous car dealership regarding the missed payments and how this was reported to the credit bureaus damaging my credit and all Zakou (the sales rep) would say is that he passed it on to his managers. When I asked which manager so I could follow up he would say I could just call and ask for one and they would all know what I was talking about, which again, LIES, because not once was I able to get a hold of a manager, they seemed to NEVER be there, and when I would reach out to Zakou again, hed tell me the same thing making me even more upset at the fact that I was not getting any concrete answers. The last thing I was told by my sales rep was for me to pay the balance and bring them a cancelled check for a refund which at this point I refuse because that is not what I agreed on, and if I wouldve known that from the beginning I would have just waited out the three months so I wouldnt be stuck with two lease payments!! It is safe to say, this has been by FAR the worse experience with a dealership that has failed tremendously with their customer service. Their lack of attention or interest in my situation has made my experience so sour, if it wasnt for my contract I would have returned the vehicle already so I wouldnt have to deal with them.

I bought a new MX on Jan 16, 2016. I already owned a 2004 MX5 that I bought new in 2002. When I bought my new car I asked if I qualified for the $500 loyalty incentive, which they assured me I did. During closing they did not have it included. The closer said it was an oversight and the sales mgr would take care of it. After the close, the sales mgr had me fill out paperwork and submit a copy of my 2002 cars current registration. He said it would take about 3 weeks to process. It has now been 3 months and I still have not received the $500. I have called the Mazda customer care # several times, and I have contacted the dealership several times. They say they are looking into it but they do not return my calls or email. I think 3 months is more than enough time to resolve this. Im very unhappy with both the dealership (Auto Barn, Chicago, IL) and Mazda USA for not delivering on their promise.

I purchased a 2015 Mazda CX7 from Looms Ford in Fredericksburg Virginia June of 2015. At the time of purchase the vehicle had 37K. Looms Ford knew that the battery was going, told me when theres a problem, contact us. When the car wouldnt start about 6 weeks later, I called and they informed me, not their problem. The battery blew up under the hood, had it towed, mechanic said he never seen anything like it. Thats the first problem. Car made a whistle noise, come to find out its the turbo. Mind you this car has only 64K miles on it.Called Mazda, told them the turbo had failed. They want records of all maintenance. I can give them records of battery situation because the car was towed. But when it comes to changing oil or filters, I am quite capable. Now they wont fix turbo because I chose to change my own oil instead of paying someone else to do it. Mazda us nothing but a letdown. I wouldnt recommend a Mazda vehicle to my worst enemy. I will NEVER buy another Mazda.

I did mention the discomfort to one of the sales reps and he could not believe me. It will soon be out of warranty and just wondered if or how I could get a second opinion. As indicated in the service record when I got my first oil change, I had 3,000 miles on my 2012 Mazda 5 when I first complained to a Mazda dealer that my car would wobble when going forward into a right turn and in reverse when making a left turn. The service people said they could not recreate the problem as stated on the work order, but it would mysteriously go away for a while when I complained during multiple oil changes. Recently, at 25,000 miles, the service manager at this dealership finally told me my rotors were out of round so they were going to ground them down to make them straight. I requested they be replaced with new rotors but they said no. The dealer who sold me the car with the defective rotors said no and Mazda Headquarters said see the dealer who sold me the car.The dealer I bought the car from said its an issue of wear and he doesnt do warranty work unless hes paid by Mazda. His service mgr. said he didnt feel or see a problem during a test drive after the rotors were filed down so they refused to replace them. If it was an issue of wear, the problem would not have been occurring since I bought the car. Filing down the rotors mostly eliminated the problem, thus indicating the rotors were bad from the start. To make sure the dealer saw information about the wheels wobbling in formal complaints on paperwork from the 3,000- and 25,000-mile oil changes, I filed a complaint with the state. They sent me a notice that the dealer said it was a wear problem and they would check with Mazda Headquarters!!Now Im wondering if the State of Michigan Attorney General has the will to tackle big business. I sent them every piece of information related to the problem and I would like my rotors replaced. Anybody out there have any ideas, similar problems?

I replaced my 2002 Mazda Tribute plugs (about 85,000 miles) with new ones. 2 /12 months later my first plug blew out (#6) and took the coil pack with it in the front head. I had an insert put in. Only 2 1/2 months later and another plug blew out (#1 I think) in the rear head. Jesse of Scappoose, called the complainants on this forum morons because we want to blame someone else for not putting in the correct plugs. What an idiot. I have replaced plenty of plugs in my day. I used regular plugs that are specified for this engine, nothing fancy. They are gapped and I use anti-seize compound on the threads. I hand tighten the plugs. No cross-threading is occurring. My theory on what happened is the stress of removing the old plugs weakened the surrounding metal and causing the new plugs to blow out within a short period of time. My repair is taking place tomorrow and I had planned on fixing the 4 others with inserts before they blow. However, after reading this long list of blowout events I have some reservations about how long the repairs will last and thus am thinking about getting it fixed and then trading it in for another manufacturer (Jeep perhaps?)

It has been good so far. It is good on gas and seems to be mostly reliable. Has a pretty big trunk for a little car. Runs pretty good. It is great for me and my daughter but has a good size back seat if we want to take others with us. It has some updated technology so that is nice, I can connect my phone and it is really easy to drive. It was the car I was able to get approved for so that is what I bought. However, the headlights have to be turned on and off manually, my old car had running lights so I didnt have to worry about the lights all the time. It is pretty low to the ground so it is a big change from an SUV.

I have a 2009 Mazda 6. I have replaced pretty much all of the bulbs at some point in the 4 years Ive owned this car (headlights, brake lights, turn signals, etc.). In total, I would estimate probably 10-12 times. A few I did have done at Valvoline when I had a quick oil change and they noticed a bulb out. But I have also had it to the dealer several times pleading with them to figure out why the car keeps blowing bulbs. Their answer every time just the bulb and bulbs blow which means I have to pay for it because warranty doesnt cover unless its a defect. Ive owned several other cars both new and old and never had to replace more than 1-2 bulbs in my life. Same goes for every single person I talk about this. Why is it everyone thinks theres something more going on except the dealer? So I dropped it off again this morning and they are already trying to tell me last bulb I replaced was passenger side and this time its driver side, so probably just the bulb again but they will do a diagnostic and my charge will be a minimum of $90 for that. Very dissatisfied with Mazda and the dealer (Jeff Schmidt Mazda in Beavercreek, Ohio). Very poor customer service. Do they really think its okay to have to replace a bulb in your car every 3 months?! I will never own another Mazda or buy a car from this dealer again. I strongly advise anyone reading this to do the same.

My wife has a 2007 Mazda CX-7 (rated in Consumer Reports as a Used Car to Avoid) that she purchased new in 2007. Over the past year, she has had instances where it begins to make a terrible noise around the front end and when she checks the tires, the lug nuts for the front drivers side tire are loose to almost falling off. She has had this looked at by multiple car repair and tire specialty shops and all have told her nothing is wrong with the studs or the nuts and they just werent tightened properly. The last time it was looked at (just a week ago!) the mechanic was planning to replace the studs and then notified her that there was just a build-up of rust/corrosion at the base of the studs that wasnt allowing the nuts to tighten all the way. She just called me a few minutes ago in tears because she once again heard the terrible noise, got out and checked the tire and four nuts were almost off! Would love to know if this is a problem other CX-7 or other Mazda model-owners have experienced. Very frustrating!

OK, the car drives and handles well so thats why it gets two stars but otherwise owning it has been awful. The computer needs to update? Reboots in the middle of driving. No kidding, literally on the road, using the navigation I spent several hundred dollars for, the cars computer reboots. Not once, twice. I take it to the dealership, the guy says yeah, the computer needs to be updated, no big deal. Then there is the computer not recognizing my phone 9 times out of 10, including when I wanted to dial 911 to report an accident. So useful! Even when it does recognize the phone, want to play Pandora? Better have the phone on and Pandora open or else nope. Open phone and turn on Pandora after the car decides it cant find them? Nope. Not going to recognize Pandora until you turn the car off and back on again. Want to use the iPod that is literally plugged into it? Maybe. We might let you. Unless we refuse to recognize it until you reboot the iPod and turn off and on the car. Then the drivers seat ripped within a few months of purchase. I took it in, it took weeks to replace the seat. Then the plastic piece that protects the electronics under the drivers seat broke. I took it in, got it fixed, that took weeks because the part had to be ordered. It broke again. I got it fixed again. It just broke this evening, and I just dont even know what to do. I deeply regret purchasing this vehicle.

Mazda CX-7 2011: In June of 2014 I lost my first turbo, at 54,000 miles. After having the turbo replace it turned out that my fuel pump was also bad, had that replaced. In July of 2015 a weird noise began coming from the area of my turbo. Brought it to the Mazda dealership and was told it was probably a wrist pin. Brought my car to another dealership and it turned out a few bolts between the turbo and manifold had broke and the gap was causing the whistling noise. Had to pay for bolt replacement out of pocket (over $1000 because they also insisted on replacing the seals on the turbo). November of 2015 my second Turbo went. I was over the Warrantied mileage and warranty was denied. The turbo warranty from previous installation had also expired after 12 months. Replaced turbo at my own expense. January of 2016 the car flashed a check engine and oil light. Pulled over and immediately shut the car down. After having the car towed to a repair place it was discovered that the crankshaft bearing had gone bad and destroyed the motor. I basically have a worthless car with only 67 thousand miles on it.

2008 Mazda CX-7. Too many problems to mention with these types of vehicles. There have been tons of recalls and if you happen to move and forward your address, they will still send the notice out to your old one just so they can screw you out getting the work performed!

This car drives very similar to the vehicle I replaced- Lincoln Navigator. I test drove my Mazda CX-9 during a snow storm and I was pleased at how well it barreled through snow drifts. Its very luxurious and roomy. Also fits me in regard to seat belt since Im very short; many belts cut me off at the neck. Love the interior, including color. Great gas mileage. Im proud of how car looks and performs. But I have difficulty locking car from inside car while car is still running, or turned off in my driveway... And I dont like the exterior color of black - really shows dirt. I also wish I had a tow package...

So Mazda has kidnapped my mothers car for 3 weeks now. My mom is not very well in English and sometimes gets taken advantage of and I feel like MAZDA HAS FULLY TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF MY MOM. We had my uncle call and my brother even called so this morning I have decided to call for her cause I wanted to know if she was EVER GETTING HER CAR BACK. She has to work so I called and asked for the person in charge of my mothers car and the little girl on the phone told me, Ok. Yes he’s in so she transfer me to the VOICEMAIL so NO HE WAS NOT IN (LIES). I left a voicemail for JASON and then calling back to Mazda the little girl picks up the phone and I tell her, Life is kinda hard right now for my mother and her and I don’t see eye to eye sometimes living together (I’m putting this nicely cause she really pissed me off) and that little girl had the nerve to tell me, You need to take care of your mom. Little girl you don’t have the right to tell ANY customers that about their family. You guys have had my mothers car for 3 weeks now with no answers. She bought her car in 2016 and how the hell does the transmission just mess up like that and then finding out they don’t even do an engine check in your car when you go and get an oil change. Stoney Trail Mazda has the worst service/callbacks and rude service people EVER. You guys need to work on your people skills and maybe get a new girl to pick up the phone for service cause she had no clue what’s she’s doing... One more thing my mother had to rent a car and pay it with her own money cause Mazda said that her plan didn’t cover it. They also said they would try there headrest to fix it and try to cover her car rental and NOPE that was another lie... Youre better off taking your car to another mechanic that!!!

I purchased a used 2008 Mazda CX-7 in 2010. The car was in mint condition. A few months later, I would occasionally hear a ticking in the engine but the car ran fine so I thought nothing of it. I kept up with my oil changes. Last Thursday, I started the car and heard a terrible noise in the engine and my check engine light came on. I went home and did some research and discovered that the timing chain on the VVT is a huge issue with this vehicle. Thousands of inquiries and complaints. I researched recalls and discovered that Mazda has extended the warranty to 70,000 miles. My car has 52,000 miles. I called the dealership and they confirmed the extended warranty and told me to bring my car in. He said nothing else except that it would be covered. When I got to the dealership, they inspected the vehicle to make sure it was the timing chain problem before I left it. The service manager came out to the waiting room and asked me to talk with him privately in an office. He showed me a paper towel with what looked like chunky oil. He told me he would not be able to cover my car under the extended warranty because I had sludge and did not maintain my vehicle properly. I took that as an insult and told him I did get my oil changed. He asked me to provide receipts which seems ridiculous to me. Unless someone goes to one oil change place religiously, how do you keep track of all of those receipts? In my case, I have a friend do most of my oil changes. No receipts. I called Mazda direct to complain. They told me that they would forgo the receipts if they had permission to remove the valve cover and check the condition. At my expense! I called about 6 independent mechanics around town and they all told me the CX-7 has a sludge issue. That no vehicle with 50,000 miles would have sludge that bad even if oil changes werent performed at regular intervals. That no vehicle should need a timing chain at 50,000 miles. It is an obvious defect in the design and Mazda doesnt want to pay out millions to correct their mistake. I cannot afford a $1200 repair and now after reading all of these complaints, Im afraid my engine is going to blow. Mazda needs to take care of their customers!

2012 Mazda 3 6 speed with Skyactiv Transmission problems - This car had 180 miles on it when I got it; it now has 2000. From day one, I have experienced problems shifting into 1st gear, where it just plain and simple will not go into gear. This happens whether the car is cold or warm. Also on 2nd gear and reverse. It sticks in almost every gear. It clunks loudly when putting the car into 1st gear initially and when going from 1st to 2nd. It also accelerates on its own when I am both shifting up and shifting down. I have almost hit someone at a stop light and while sitting in stop and go traffic because of this issue. It happens every day, intermittently. I feel very unsafe driving it. Mazda has said that they will contact the dealership and speak to them, because the dealership will not confirm nor deny that these things shouldn’t be happening, which is weird seeing as the car is brand new and no brand new car should ever refuse to go into gear nor drive on its own. I had a 2004 before this with zero problems and I regret buying up. I am very unhappy and in danger.

I have Mazda CX7. I am very disappointed with the service and the empty promises from Mazda Indonesia. I wanted to complain about a very bad service of Mazda Motor Indonesia’s unsatisfactory quality, but no one of your dealers will help me and also MMI. This really shocked me because I was a Japanese car lover and have never bad experienced with other brand of Japanese cars. Please contact me via email.

Just passed 24000km on the odometer and the brand new 2016 CX3 I bought a year ago has a complete transmission failure. I had to bring it into the dealership (Stoney Trail Mazda) in Calgary AB Canada for a period of 4 weeks. They had to replace the complete transmission which took 2 weeks and after the replacement there was still noises coming from the vehicle, they took another two weeks to find out what was wrong and was complete clueless. They told me they did further work by replacing the flywheel and a number of other parts. The dealership is making an effort and did fix everything without further cost to me and did provide a rental vehicle which I appreciate greatly. However, I completely lost confidence in Mazda as a company. Ive been a long time Mazda owner and the fact that the dealership is not stepping up to replace a clearly lemon/defective vehicle is really upsetting. This will be the last Mazda I will ever own. Stay away from the Mazda CX3!!!

Mazda 5 has suspension problems - I have had shocks redone 3 times in 7 years. I am a single woman not carrying passengers all the time!! Others have the same issues - otherwise a good car. Great car all around but they are discontinuing it - maybe because of the suspension problems. Gas mileage is good if you stay below 110. :)

Bought a used Mazda CX-7 July 2016. July 2017 the left front control arm broke while driving down the road. Had my mechanic make the repairs to the car. Sept 2017 I get notice that there is a recall on the issue that occurred. Had the car to Mazda dealer August 2018 and repairs were made as per the recall but now Mazda USA does not want to reimburse me for the repairs made by my mechanic in July 2017 since it was done after the August 10, 2016 date of the recall which I knew nothing about till Sept 2017 when I got the first notice of the recall. Finally got them to look at the info but now they are using the fact that I dont have a bank statement from July 2017 showing the repairs were paid with my Visa when the slip from the garage is clearly marked paid Visa. Big company just looking for any possible loophole to get out of owning up to their mistakes.

I had plugs changed 3k ago on my Mazda Tribute and one blew out the other day. It broke the coil off. Dealer is charging me $500 to drill out and install sleeve and new spark plug. They suggested that if it happens again, the head is bad and will have to be replaced for cost of $1500 or so. Apparently, this happens with Fords a lot and as I see here, Mazdas too. It is a commonly occurring quality issue that should be addressed by the manufacturer. Obviously, it weakens the threads when changed at 100k. I had no problems before that then change the plugs and 3k later, one blows.

I wanted to add my thoughts on the Mazda 2. At first I was excited about my brand new 63 plate Mazda 2. Having driven it for a couple of months with no problems I was just parking when the brakes stopped working. I pressed the brake pedal but it wouldnt budge. I ended up under a lorry as I was only parking. The damage to me and the car was minimal but I have lost all confidence in the car. I have taken it back to Mazda who have told me after carrying out tests there is nothing wrong with the brakes. I simply do not believe them and I will never drive this car again. I wonder if anyone else has had similar problems??
