Well there is an engineering screw up that Mazda knew about it, and put the part on it anyway, knowing the part was a screw up, and refuses to repair it at their cost. The vvt solenoid should be replaced because they knew all about it. Its really a crying shame that they have screwed over so many people. There should be a recall on this, but I guess they are sweeping it under the rug. Its going to cost about $2,000 to repair this vehicle. My daughter has 3 children and cannot afford this. She brought her vehicle to a Mazda dealership in Baton Rouge, La. To be fixed, Mazda did agree to pay only $500.00 of the repairs. Her vehicle sat at Mazda for 5 damn weeks and they never worked on it. They said they would try and squeeze her vehicle in, and even though she was going to have to pay the remaining balance which is 1,500, they still never fixed a Damn thing! So she went and picked it up and all they did was hand her the keys and said nothing. I Would never purchase a MAZDA vehicle ever! Mazda should be brought Up on charges and held responsible for Their negligence.

Purchased a 2007 cx-9 in 2009 from dealer with 19k miles. Great looking car. First problem was tire life. The original Bridgestone Duelers lasted 29k, and yes, proper inflation and rotation, and alignment. Subsequent sets met with only marginal improvement. Went with Perreli Scorpions, and Yokohamas. At 99k, last week, I foolishly purchased a new set of Michelins (60k warranty). My plan was to drive this thing until those tires were shot, and call it a day. Mind you, Ive met or exceeded all service schedules, to include flushing the tranny last spring. Heres a short list of the problems with the cx-9: Drivers door seal leaks creating excessive noise in cabin. AC controls are intermittent between front and rear compartment. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. Power doors refuse to lock as the indicator light states I have a door open. Both keyfobs failed, and dealer wanted in excess of 300 to replace and reprogram. I opted with using the hard key, but had to have that programmed. Passenger door window wont go all the way down. Dealer had two attempts to fix that, and its doing it again. Now for the biggies: 60K Pass side rear wheel bearing went, $500.00. Then, Huge clunking noises coming from somewhere in front end suspension. I replaced tie rod ends, and stabilizers with greasable Moog fittings. Still have the clunk noise. Learned this was due to failed lower ball joints on the control arm. I was heartened to hear that a recall was pending and made the appointment with the dealer after my tire installer confirmed my suspicion. Within one week of putting the tires on and Within days of scheduling my ball joint/control arm repair, my wife pulls up the driveway and the sound coming from the drive-train was like she was dragging a washing machine behind the car. I will limp it into the dealer tomorrow a.m. to find that at minimum, I will need a new transfer case. This is completely unacceptable! If you take care of your vehicle, as I have, this stuff should not happen! I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER MAZDA.... and shame on you Ford Motor Co for supplying the POS parts on this vehicle without proper vetting.

A word to the wise, if you have a mechanical problem check to see what issues Mazda may be extending warranty coverage. From experience, dealerships and Mazda provide no foreknowledge to a problem with faulty manufacturing issues that are covered under an extended warranty. On my daughters 2012 CX9 there was a factory problem with a brake line. Dealer quoted over $800 repair cost and never informed us that this problem was covered under extended warranty. I happened to find out by internet search, it was a warranty covered issue and we still fell within extended warranty time and mileage limits. She now is told the AWD is not functioning due to a faulty factory power transfer unit. There was and still is no indication by any warning light or anything that a problem with the AWD occurred. Unfortunately, the extended warranty time limit expired 6 months ago. We have no idea when the AWD failed and neither does Mazda dealership. I can see that this is going to be difficult to get this covered because no one can tell if it failed under the warranty limits (we are still within the mileage limit). This is a $1500 repair quote. I think if Mazda has knowledge of factory failures this information should be made more readily available to consumers. Or better yet MAKE YOUR DAMN CARS BETTER!!!

That is when my Air Conditioning clutch froze up (of course after the warranty ends) on the Air Conditioning Compressor and now it blows HOT air. Mazda wants $1,200 to replace it, so I spoke to Morgan at Mazda about this problem, thinking Mazda would stand behind it considering the small amount my AC unit was used. The thing is I live in the Mountains in NC and really did not use the Air Conditioning very much. I bet that AC unit has only been used 10% of the time... Plus, I have purchased 2 brand NEW Mazdas in the last 5 years. Mazda still refused to stand behind their product and cover this under warranty... I am done with Mazda. I will never buy another Mazda again and I am going to warn everyone I can about Mazda poor service after the sale. What a horrible way to treat your loyal Customers. Something similar happened to my Father and Dodge stood behind their AC unit even after the Warranty expired... Now my Father will only buy a Dodge. Mazda just does not get it. Mazda just lost an entire family and friends of future Customers. NEVER AGAIN...

I was driving on the highway and RPM started to rev up; I couldnt switch gears and clutch gave out from underneath me. Luckily, I was able to roll off the highway when I noticed the problem. Of course, one problem leads to another. The battery then died at the shop. I had to replace it as well. This comes not even a month after the rotors for brakes hit the fan. This has got to be one of the most problematic cars I have seen. A clutch dying in less than 3 years and the worst part is my car was due off its lease next month. I assume this to be a manufacturer defect, and maybe one day they will admit to a faulty clutch. As for customer service, its some of the worst I have ever seen. They review your concerns with an eraser or write with one. Horrible company and car!

During closing they did not have it included. The closer said it was an oversight and the sales mgr would take care of it. After the close, the sales mgr had me fill out paperwork and submit a copy of my 2002 cars current registration. He said it would take about 3 weeks to process. It has now been 3 months and I still have not received the $500. I have called the Mazda customer care # several times, and I have contacted the dealership several times. They say they are looking into it but they do not return my calls or email. I think 3 months is more than enough time to resolve this. Im very unhappy with both the dealership (Auto Barn, Chicago, IL) and Mazda USA for not delivering on their promise.

Only well known gasoline is used; vehicle never abused nor in an accident; current mileage: approx. 52,500 miles. Complaint: main cat converter began to fail with severe loss of power as a result. This occurred at approx. 52,000 miles. Had Pre-Cats tested on computer. Results: Pre-Cats showed signs of early failure. There are two Pre-Cats. Bank One is now showing below design efficiency. Evidence of honeycomb fusion has already been seen. I contacted Mazda, California. Was instructed to talk with a Mazda Dealership. Did this. Went to Mazda of Lodi. While there, met with Ownership and Shop Manager. Indicated that Mazda Corporate would require an assessment of the Pre-Cats and would then determine the degree of financial assistance given to me considering the low mileage of the vehicle. I am also a repeat Mazda customer as Ive purchased two Mazdas in the past. In summary, Lodi Mazda refused to accept my vehicle saying it was too old and they did not want to become involved with it as well as stating that Corporate would not pay them anyway. (Is this legal?) I was abashed at their cavalier attitude and attempted to convince them that I had been sent to their Dealership by Corporate; they simply found this humorous. I left with utter frustration. I then called Mazda California and reported the incident. I did receive a follow up call from Mazda wherein they indicated that I should not expect any assistance from them as my vehicle was out of warranty. Frankly, considering the low mileage, I believe Mazda should have at least paid for the Pre-Cats; I did not request any reimbursement for the main Cat. My relationship with Mazda is now over; I will never purchase another Mazda car or SUV. My Tribute is like new so I will invest in new Pre-Cats and bite the bullet. Mazda and Lodi do not want to read my mind. Needless to say, they will not see my truck for service nor for anything else. Responses from fellow Mazda owners are welcome.

The underside and the inside of the hatch rusts even without stone chips. The bottom inside weld of the hatch rusts. This was not sprayed when I had the car rust proofed (so request it). Mazda declined my claim under the 7 year rust perforation warranty. They are still not choosing to design their cars for the North American rust belt. Similar complaints can be found on internet forums. Otherwise this is a good car.

Mazda is having a big issue with the CMU chips failing for the entertainment screen. My car was 3 months past the warranty coverage and even knowing that they are having problems with these they refused to do anything. Even the replacement motherboards are failing. Without the CMU chip you can’t play the radio. This is not something that should fail after 3 1/2 years. I had to spend $1500 so I could listen to the radio. You get what you pay for. Beware of Mazda.

Where I live, I have no choice but to park on the street outside my apartment building. Ive always had a horrible feeling about not being able to fold it in at night when I come back from work. They called and said they didnt hear anything, after driving it several times. Drove the car some more and sound got worse. Took it back in and they told me it was my brakes. They changed a cylinder in the brakes but the technician couldnt get the brakes to work after changing it. They had my car over a week. Got the car back and the noise was still happening. I continued to drive it. One night, my husband and I had people flagging us down to stop. We had flames shooting out the back end of the CX-9. The fire department came quickly and put out the fire. Vehicle was towed to dealer. They found the transfer case had leaked out all of its sludgy oil. Mazda corporate technician was brought in to look at the case. It had 27,000 miles and still under warranty. The transfer case was replaced and the dealer had my car another 5 weeks. A warning light came on during the fire or before. Now, at 110,000 miles the car started making a loud whining noise after reaching 40 mph. I took it right in. After 2 weeks of having my car the dealer said it was the transfer case and a wheel bearing. I assumed they were fixing it and 2 weeks passed again. They called and told me it needed a new transmission now, too!! I have to have it fixed but will trade it ASAP!! They have had my car for almost 6 weeks. Called Mazda Corp. and they refused to help at all. They said since one transfer case was replaced by warranty that even if the car was recalled, I couldnt receive another part. I would have to pay out of pocket. Mazda knows there is problem with the transfer cases and knows it can lead to transmission failure but they refuse to recall the vehicles affected!

Now to the Mazda dealerships. Please note I use the plural. That is because my husband truly was interested in a Mazda 6. We have visited three dealerships in two states and have encountered the same outdated sales practices in all three places. I am not a mathematician but it seems statistically improbable that these practices largely abandoned in the industry would be independently retained by three separate individuals. It seems more likely that the corporation itself still encourages these practices - salespeople accompanying test drives? Sales managers insisting on speaking with you before you leave? Continuing to try and sell you a car youve expressly said you do not want? Frankly, I am doing whatever I can to encourage my husband to buy the Accord Coupe 6 cylinder. I love the car, the salesman has been wonderful to deal with and I dont have to dread what comes next even if we were able to buy the car.

The battery blew up under the hood, had it towed, mechanic said he never seen anything like it. Thats the first problem. Car made a whistle noise, come to find out its the turbo. Mind you this car has only 64K miles on it.Called Mazda, told them the turbo had failed. They want records of all maintenance. I can give them records of battery situation because the car was towed. But when it comes to changing oil or filters, I am quite capable. Now they wont fix turbo because I chose to change my own oil instead of paying someone else to do it. Mazda us nothing but a letdown. I wouldnt recommend a Mazda vehicle to my worst enemy. I will NEVER buy another Mazda.

Now, they rejected a request for help; and the local dealer, Colonial Mazda, wanted $1400 for the parts and $400 to install it. I was able to get the part from another Mazda dealer at $1000 by mail. Now, Colonial Mazda refuse to install the part. What a joke - a bad design followed by bad service and a company that does not stand behind their products. In addition, they think people are stupid to pay 40% more on a part that Mazda should be responsible to replace.

I asked to have a remote start installed (I live over an hour and a half from the dealership as this is the closest Mazda dealership to my home). I took a full day off work to drive to the dealership and wait four hours for the remote start to be installed. They installed an Mobile Remote Start (MMS) and NOT a remote start as I asked. The Mobile remote start doesnt work where I live and work in WV due to the lack of cell service in many areas. So I asked them to remove it. I had to take off another full day off work to have them remove the incorrect product that they installed the regular Mazda remote start.Its been a couple of months and the Mazda product (remote start) has been nothing but problems! It works one day and then doesnt work the next day. When it does work, it wont start until Im like right up on top of my car and then when you open the door, the car shuts off. I changed the batteries and that didnt do anything. It worked the first day and not the second or third day. I contacted my salesman who said I could bring it back down and they would take a look at it and repair it if there was an issue. He said they would replace it if it was faulty. I went out and looked up the reviews and the reviews all indicate that similar problems have existed (with reviews dating) back to 2012. Apparently Mazda has done nothing to address or fix the issues with the faulty device.I requested a refund (I paid about $500.00 for the product and the installation). Mazda refused to give me a refund. They care absolutely nothing about the bottom line of their customers. This will be the LAST MAZDA I ever buy! Not because the car is bad, I like the car, but because the service after the sale of a 30K+ product is obviously NOT one where the customer care. I will be encouraging all my friends on Facebook and work and everyone from here on out who ask me about my car (its a beautiful car... I get lots of questions about it), NEVER to buy one if they expect to have quality service after the sale! Terrible business practices Mazda! You should be ashamed of yourselves. P. S. Once we brought the car in we were very rudely told that we would have to incur the cost of inspection and possibly repairs. The brakes are hissing very bad and they are very difficult to press down on to get the car to stop. I was in the car with my young children and was very afraid that the car would not stop. I explained all this to the service department and they said that the part would be upwards of 750.00 and that it did not qualify for the extended warranty due to the amount of miles on the car. I cannot believe that with all the complaints about the brakes that they would not honor their car and fix it properly to ensure the safety of their drivers. Once we agreed on the price, the car was delivered to us in poor condition, the paint felt like sandpaper (it was not prepped right) and we found cookie crumbs in the cup holder and candy wrappers under the drivers seat. By the time transaction was done it was late (about 9:30PM), but even with the poor outside lighting, we noticed defects in the paint on the hood of the vehicle. The dealer assured us they would take care of it. It was late, and even with all these issues we took the car home, trusting that all would be made right. I could look past the cookie crumbs and the candy wrappers, but in daylight the next day, multiple defects in the paint were very apparent.We took the car back to the dealer, they had a Mazda rep look at it. It was determine that the defects were under the clear coat of the paint, but they were severe enough to do anything about. The dealer offered after some complaining to repaint the hood (could not guarantee it would match) or get us a VISA gift card for $500. As I was pretty fed up with the dealer, we opted for the VISA gift card. It took about 6 weeks and lots of calls, but what finally arrived from Mazda was a Mazda gift card, good for only 1 year, but for Mazda mechanical repairs only. What good is $500 of credit for repairs on a brand new car that has a 3 year warranty? By the way repairs dont include painting the hood. So now I have a car with defects that came from the factory that no one will do anything about. After multiple complaints, the dealer said, Mazda will make the next 2 lease payments to make it up to us, nothing ever happened. Then the dealer said instead we would receive a $500 check from Mazda. That was at least 4 weeks ago, NOTHING!I wish I could say the story ends here, but it got worse quickly. A couple of weeks after buying the car, a piece of gravel hit the windshield and cracked it so badly - the car is not drivable as the crack is along the drivers side of the windshield and quite large. The insurance company authorized a replacement ASAP. This was in early July. Turns out Mazda does not have any replacement windshields anywhere in the US as the model is so new, yet they continue in production somehow. It is now almost 3 MONTHS later and still no windshields available, no date as to when it will be, and no offer of help from the dealer at all.We have made multiple payments on this car since early July, have not been able to drive it and have defects that are permanent in the paint before we even got it home. The dealer not only did not keep the commitment of compensation for the paint, but offered us no help when we found out the back ordered windshield could take months to come in (and it has). We even checked into aftermarket windshields, but were told, they are also not yet available.As a consumer, I believe there is an implied understanding when you buy a new car, that typical replacement parts will be available, clearly not the case with Mazda and the 2016 CX5. We will never look at another Mazda, not because of what happened, but rather because the company and the dealer offered no help. I called Mazda corporate helpline many times. They dont return phone calls and when you do finally get someone, they tell you, you need to be patient, and we value your business, right!

Shortly after that, the engine light came on again (3.10). This time, a timing chain/belt was replaced. A couple of months later, the engine light came on again with the car now needing a transmission sensor replaced (10.10). On June 25, 2011, the engine light came on again. I took the car back and was told that the car could not be seen until June 28. I decided to keep the car there due to the driving condition while taking the car to the dealer. On June 28, I never received a phone call and had to call the dealer. I was informed that the machine that read the problems with Mazda cars was currently broke, and they had no idea when the machine would be fixed. While waiting, I rented a vehicle, which was not covered by my warranty because they were not able to state what was wrong with the car. I was told that I should now pay for a tow truck to have my car taken to another dealer. I expressed that when my car was dropped off on 6.25.11, the machine was not broken; therefore, I should not be responsible for towing the car. The dealer indicated that they would try to fix the machine in the meantime and get back to me. While waiting, I contacted the Mazda headquarters concerning this matter. They concluded that Sussman would pay for the rental car. My car stayed with Sussman for about two-and-a-half weeks. Sussman dealer stated that they wont have a new machine anytime soon and they agreed to transport my car to North Penn dealership, which concluded that my car needed a new turbo and possibly a new engine. Im very confused on how a car, which was purchased not even two years ago, would need so much work. I recently picked up my car on August 4, 2011. It is my understanding after completing some research that the Mazda Cx-7 has had several issues concerning the engine in the later models. I conclude this letter by stating that service at Sussman was horrible. This is my first experience with Mazda cars and based on this, I would never recommend this vehicle. I hope that you can shed some light on this matter concerning engine concerns. Also, until this day, Sussman has yet to phone me concerning the rental car fee, after copies of the receipts were sent for over $900 in payment. I look forward to hearing from someone in the near future.

I contacted 1-800-222-5500 and spoke with Stephanie ** who provided me a file number and informed I needed to have the dealership confirm the issue was the compressor. The dealership confirmed the compressor and belt need replaced. I contacted the Customer Satisfaction number back and the complaint process began. I was notified on 7/15 that Mazda will not provide any financial assistance as it is outside of my warranty period. Considering the low miles on my vehicle, the warranty JUST ran out and there are apparently issues with the air conditioning on my vehicle as there are SEVERAL complaints online, I was very disturbed that a corporation who is supposed to be reputable will not stand behind their vehicle.

Ive put 2 clutches in a person’s car because they ride it and dont know how to shift. Third, any turbo engine sucks, no matter who makes it, they all have problems. Fourth, up until 2014, the Mazda 6 was not a real Mazda, once again, built by Ford. Fifth, the recall for the Tribute for the throttle sticking was only on a V6 motor because of the engine cover laying too low from a valve cover stud and causing the cruise control cable to stick under rapid acceleration. Sixth, most of you with bad motors, youre not really doing your oil changes on time, so shut up. Seventh, mismatched or differently worn tires can/will cause damage to transfer cases, transmissions, and rear differentials. Eighth, cars rust especially if you live in an area where salt is used all winter. Ninth, your personal mechanic buddy probably cant describe the difference between 4WD and AWD, he doesnt know everything, he just wants to seem like the good guy so he gets your business. And tenth, if you have a RX8, its not a race car, rev it up before you shut it off to avoid flooding, and DONT MODIFY IT. Hope this sums up all your complaints easy because I got sick of trying to help people with ideas of what may be wrong.

I called CarMax about my extended warranty and was told it expired at 75K and I was at 78K. The car was taken to a reputable mechanic and when he pulled the engine down there was a massive amount of sludge on the engine resulting in cylinder head, timing belt, transmission damage. It appeared the car wasnt maintained. The engine has poor circulation of oil and although I just had an oil change 2 weeks prior to this incident it looked as if there wasnt any oil in the engine. It is irreparable. I still owe $9,000.00 on the vehicle and cant drive it. I just had hip replacement surgery and I have a disabled brother. We both depend on this vehicle and I am caught in a bad situation. It appears Mazda is aware of this problem per the complaints logged on the NHTSA website for the same make and model indicating engine problems and Mazda ignoring this issue. If I give back the car I still owe money!!! I cant afford to pay for a car and have to get one also. Buyers beware of buying a Mazda!! There is a hidden problem the company knows about and will not make good on something that they know is wrong to consumers.

The dealer replaced the seal (having the car for close to two weeks). The car continued to leak oil this fall (2011). The dealer contacted Mazda’s headquarters and they recommended replacing the transmission, which the dealer did. The vehicle continued to leak oil during the winter/spring of 2012. The dealer claims it is the rear main seal (dealer currently have had the vehicle for 1 week). Wouldnt the main seal have been replaced with the new transmission? Other issues include two sets of breaks, tie rod, electrical overhaul, and vacuum hose problem.

Another dealership fought corporate to have it covered. I was thankful! Then real problems began. Two turbos later and many code lights naming everything under Mazda sun, I had the last ever illuminating engine light that would not clear regardless of what Mazda service did. I hate this company. Finally ended up with Mazda Corporation. They were as worthless as the dealership. I am now working on a commercial with Honda to tell people that changing to another car is a huge mistake. Never had these issues with Honda.

At 59000 miles I walk into the dealer and have them doing some recall work on the car. I tell them its transmission is kind of slipping. Service guy says dont worry and recommends a trans service... I say ok... Come back a month later ask for trans service and he says, Its over drivetrain warranty now. Maybe the service will help. Sounds like the trans is shot. The part alone is $9000 and removal is another $3000. Has no record of my issue at prior visit. Says there is no warranty. Said you dont service your car here so we wont help you. I ended up spending another $3k out of pocket having a trans shop rebuild the trans. If youre thinking about it... RUN FROM MAZDA!

For the first time I walked in, Mr. Jason **, took care of me with no pressure, taking the time to answer all my questions, printing me clear and detailed sales offers for financing and leasing, and for the first time in my experience, was trustworthy! Went several times to meet him for questions, until the time we were going to sign for lease. Provided him with all requested necessary documents and information the evening before.On May 30th, 2018, after 3 hours spent with him with all paperwork’s, we had to wait for his Financial Manager Nick, who was supposedly too busy in assisting other clients, when his office was empty. Jason could not even have an appointment schedule from this busy person. He asked me to pay half of the deposit to hold the car for me, and charged my credit card. Therefore, he asked me to come the next day, May 31st, in confirming that Nick would call me to set up an appointment, and to confirm me the credit approval and monthly payments amount. Waited until 1:40PM to contact Jason because I have not received any feedback from anyone. Around 2:00PM, Jason texted me back in apologizing that he was assisting clients, but no information regarding appointment, credit approval or anything related to the lease offer. Only because the Financial Manager is again too busy and so well organized that he cannot delivered. Explained to Jason, that if they are not interested by my potential account, it will force me to seek for another dealer offer in order to not lose the benefit of 0% interest financing/lease special May sales. At 3:00PM, just a quick text to let me know I was approved for the amount, but no appointment still... After many back and forth with several Mazda dealerships, I accepted another offer to get my car ready that evening at the last minute! Texted back to Jason to express my disappointment about his Financial Manager and the General Manager of this dealership, who both let him down and made him lose the sale. Also requested to be refunded of my deposit charged on my credit card.As of June 4th, no news about either my refund, or a call from any Manager to apologize or anything else. So, I called to speak with Mr. Mark ** who is registered on BBB as General Manager, but no one as his phone or can transfer my call... Called 4 times to be transferred on voicemail, so asked to General Manager to call me back, and left them all information needed to understand the situation. Mr. Chris **, General Manager called me back, but had no information about the situation. Expressed my disappointment about the way his dealership is operated, his Financial Manager who did not delivered, how it is a shame to not support and provide resources to his great sales persons to close sales, and claimed for my refund. He asked my credit card number again, because he claimed no one will have it and it is the only way I could receive my refund... wonder what they do with card receipts after you pay, and may be they do have a shoe box accounting records systems! He also told me not to be worry about his management style… Provided him with my card information, and he claimed I will be refunded same day. He told me that he would talk with his Financial Manager to understand the situation, but I advised him to talk with Mr. Jason ** who lost the sale because of Financial Manager.I feel very sorry for Jason because, from the beginning to the end of the process during my 4 visits, he offered me a great service and beyond expectations compared to all dealerships from several brands I went to for months for car shopping. He was a trustworthy sales persons (which is very rare) with a consultant approach, very patient with me in explaining in details all my questions, and professional. Even this dealership is 1 hour drive from where I live, I really wanted to close the sales with him. In summary, I would not recommend this dealership if you don’t have the time to be lied around, and have to wait for the Financial Manager to deign to do his job professionally. If you are not in hurry, well then asked for Mr. Jason ** who is the person I would recommend.

They later called me back and to my surprise no value was added to my car, nothing was done to my CD and all previous faults still existed. I was charged $57 which they claim is for the inspection of the car. I then called Mazda customer service along with checking their website only to find out that Mazda does a free comprehensive car health check, the same check which I was charged for. To further worsen the matter, a week after the inspection I discovered my RX8 had issues with starting again whenever it is turned off. I usually have to wait five minutes before starting the car again. I have written to them repeatedly but no reply. Im currently getting legal advice concerning this.

It was a great looking SUV with great technology and a fine trim level that included leather and wood trim. Complete the deal was 45,800 out the door. Considering the trim level and options that was a fair price. After one year we made the choice to lower our payments and down size to a less expensive car. The CX9 with 10,500 miles. The Trade in value of 31000 dollars. A loss of 33% of the value in one year. Stay away from any Mazda. Any car that loses that much value in one year should be taken off the market. I will never buy another Mazda in my lifetime.

Well I told them I will get another opinion.Took it to the Mazda Dealership in Gaithersburg, MD. Ive had this car since 2008 and theyve always fixed my car and never once did I have to take it back because something failed again. I was told by Mazda in Gaithersburg, MD that one of my fuel injectors is bad. That whoever looked at my car previously should have been able to figure this out since the cylinder that kept misfiring is connected to this particular fuel injector. I had the fuel injector replaced. So far the car runs like new. So far its been a few weeks. Engine light has not come back on. Frederick Mazda... Did I really need 4 spark plugs and 4 coils. Probably not!

Mazda has some great features which Honda was missing and I was forced to cut down ROGUE because 4 cameras were headache and risky than technology developed by #mazda. Honda CRV, I realized is under power engine and whenever you need force/power, you can sense a howling and growling engine. It has overpriced itself and these two were major reason to opt for Mazda CX-5. There is one camera but sensors are used so intelligently that I have to say they made a niche for themselves. As soon as a car is in your blind spot - you dont/should not be looking into camera feeds - in Mazda CX-5, sensors make a yellow light glow in your mirror with a beep indicating that there is vehicle or person in your blind spot. I am over six feet - so entering and exiting is slight... a little bit tight... I have to adjust my posture of entering and exiting from this vehicle. My dealer experience was not as good as I wanted to be - #abbotsfordautomall #automall where #vipmazda is situated, didnt clarify before I reach to finance department that #bumper to bumper warranty is for 3 years only. They try to sell you insurance cover for those extra 2 years. Second bad taste happened, again when I was facing finance department that INSURANCE have to be from the dealer. They informed me that INSURANCE cannot be done from outside brokers or agents! Coming back to vehicle, its comfortable and nice... Ride is good but still cabin is not silent as I was expecting... In total, this is great vehicle which shows innovations and intelligent designing done by Mazda. This is made in Japan and quality of interior is not as bad as we see in Honda CRV. I like the way sensors handles vehicle and its power... when FWD will be changed in AWD is done auto. Thus it saves lot of fuel. I have driven it in fresh snow, black ice and the way vehicle managed traction and control is awesome. Seating is good and boot is comfortable too. I would definitely suggest this vehicle for small family usage - its navigation and sunroof is added features which helps in movement.

In the survey, they asked a very clear question if they filled up the tank with fuel. However, after I answered the question as honest as I knew of the thing they were supposed to do which was some negative and some positive, I got Schaumburg Mazda dealer doing things to the car every time I took the car for oil change. The first time, they lost the the bottom bolts of the front suspension lower control arm; then they made the tire lose air so the light for the tires in the cluster will light and the next time they had it for three days. Now, the car does not have traction and every time it spins the wheel because of slippery road. The engine lost power. The suspension does not have a grip to the floor so maybe they even took some suspension parts out. They did more to the car. I had just been honest to their survey and I believed the survey is a snare to the customers so they know who they will target to damage their car. Now, how can I prove the dealer has done things to the car with the performance of the car being diminished? I know if I take the car back to the dealer, they will finally make the car to break down beyond repair and, after the warranty is going to expire, where I can go to have them repair the car and have the absolute confidence the car will last with the care I give the years that it should. Never again will I buy a Mazda car not because they are not good but because the dealer is not honest to their customers. After they get their money, they do not care one bit about you, your car or their business.As a side note, I did talk to Mazda headquarters but it was worse than just to let it alone. Apparently, they are just so arrogant that they have the control of the dealer and they allow those things to happen.

I immediately had the car towed to the dealer, who notified me the next day that I will need a new engine. At this point, the car has 42,000 miles on it. The cost will be $6,600 for a brand new engine; they will only provide warranty for one (1) year, and because my warranty was up a few months prior, they will not stand behind it.While speaking to somebody from the Mazda corporate office, I was given only given a “sorry about your luck” attitude. As a result of the cost, I sent the vehicle to an independent mechanic, who replaced the engine with a used engine that has warranty for three years. I was also informed that there is a well known issue with Mazda engines, but the company refuses to stand behind their product, or remedy the problem.I dont think its unrealistic to expect a vehicle to last longer than 5 years (that only has 42,000 miles, and with only 20,000 miles is mine). Clearly by just reading problems posted online, there are many issues with Mazda products. Judging from my experience, speaking to somebody from their corporate office who would neither allow me to speak to anyone with authority, or offer any resolution to the problem to keep a customer, I certainly will not be purchasing any of their products in the future, and I would advise anyone I know to look elsewhere.

I wanted a car with Bluetooth capabilities. There was a phone deckle on one of the buttons so I said good it has Bluetooth. Not once was I corrected even after saying at least five more times that that was a deal breaker. I am on the road a lot and depend on my phone. I was told that I didnt need a 4X4 that the Tribute would make it through any snow and ice and have no problem getting up my sister’s drive because of the weight of the engine, and the space between the wheels was so large. I got stuck in the parking lot at work today. I had to be pulled out, not impressed. My starter went on my Tribute a couple of months ago. It is a 2012 Tribute, and the starter went once again not impressed. And when I got my car back, there was grease all over the hood. When people ask me what I drive, I say a Mazda Tribute and if they ask me if I would recommend it, I say no and would suggest not looking at Mazda. Pretty sad when I am paying a payment beyond my means, and I have to borrow a 4X4 just to go to work to pay for a car that is sitting in my driveway because it wont move in the Alberta weather.

They suggested that if it happens again, the head is bad and will have to be replaced for cost of $1500 or so. Apparently, this happens with Fords a lot and as I see here, Mazdas too. It is a commonly occurring quality issue that should be addressed by the manufacturer. Obviously, it weakens the threads when changed at 100k. I had no problems before that then change the plugs and 3k later, one blows.

While riding on the freeway with my daughter, our engine knocked and started to go slow, super slow like 10-20 miles per hour. I slowly pulled off and called my husband. He towed the car to Mazda and their excuse was because of vehicle maintenance, they would not replace the engine. They said there was sludge in the engine. Mazda has denied our warranty claim because of sludge in the engine, however this issue is caused by Mazdas faulty design in the turbo engine/timing chain which cooks the engine oil. Our car is only 2 years old and has only 50K miles and they are saying the sludge is caused by the owner. Ive had several vehicles and even if we never got an oil change an engine doesnt die like that from oil changes. Mazda will not provide us with any pictures or a copy of the denial report to verify this issue. Our warranty claim is denied and they will not even talk to us about this issue. Terrible product and customer service.To get this problem resolved, we must report this very unsafe issue to the Government, Better Business Bureau, and all other outlets. Everyone please complete a report so we can get some justice! God forbid someone could have run into the back of my car with my child in it!The best avenue to make us aware of an issue is to file a formal complaint with us, the NHTSA National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. 2009 Mazda 6 low seating comfort - Nice car to drive but cant handle a long trip. The seats are very firm and give both me and my wife a sore ** on longer trips. I mentioned to our local dealer when serviced but they commented it was normal. My son has a BT50 and the seating is far more comfortable. I did mention the discomfort to one of the sales reps and he could not believe me. It will soon be out of warranty and just wondered if or how I could get a second opinion. If that is the way it is that’s fine, but I will more than likely sell this car for a more comfortable sedan and quite likely not bother looking at a Mazda purchase again in the future.

I went into Mazda back in March 2019 to test the CX-5, after driving it around and listening all the great features I started to become more and more interested in the vehicle. Zakou, my sales rep tried to get me the best deal. I explained to him I still had 3 more months left on my previous lease but he assured me it wouldnt be an issue because Mazda would take care of the remaining balance (which by the way, was written in the contract and stated in all the paperwork signed by them and myself).Well, to cut the story short, its been almost three months since I switched to Mazda, my previous lease hasnt been paid off yet although they took the vehicle from me, I have been CONSTANTLY reaching out to my sales rep, calling the store, asking for a manager, financial manager, ANYONE that could help me out and all I get is: I will find out what is going on and I will reach out to you but I never hear back from anyone, and the manager seems to never be available. The only person I was able to talk to was the manager for used cars who obviously had no idea what I was talking about and also promised to call back, but I am still waiting for that call - one week later-.I have sent copies of the letters from my previous car dealership regarding the missed payments and how this was reported to the credit bureaus damaging my credit and all Zakou (the sales rep) would say is that he passed it on to his managers. When I asked which manager so I could follow up he would say I could just call and ask for one and they would all know what I was talking about, which again, LIES, because not once was I able to get a hold of a manager, they seemed to NEVER be there, and when I would reach out to Zakou again, hed tell me the same thing making me even more upset at the fact that I was not getting any concrete answers.The last thing I was told by my sales rep was for me to pay the balance and bring them a cancelled check for a refund which at this point I refuse because that is not what I agreed on, and if I wouldve known that from the beginning I would have just waited out the three months so I wouldnt be stuck with two lease payments!! It is safe to say, this has been by FAR the worse experience with a dealership that has failed tremendously with their customer service. Their lack of attention or interest in my situation has made my experience so sour, if it wasnt for my contract I would have returned the vehicle already so I wouldnt have to deal with them.

I had fully maintained my car at the Mazda dealer, changed the oil on schedule every time and had only Mazda technicians working on my car. Mazda Canada would only cover 33% of the replacement engine. This will be the last Mazda I ever buy, very displeased with Mazda Canadas lack of concern for their own reputation and customers.

The driver door wasnt put on correctly. The headlight seals have all leaked. One was replaced under warranty and one not. After the warranty was up, I was told I have an oil leak. Its the major seal and will be about $1200.00 to pull the engine and transmission to replace it. When I made a comment at Lee Johnson Kirkland dealership where I bought the car, I was told all new cars are made cheap. The best is yet to come. I almost lost my hand. The hood came down on it and actually latched. I was trapped for about an hour until I finally broke off the wiper arm and pried my hand out. Its badly smashed and I have numbness in my hand but Im thankful to have my fingers. My car also has the recall for the sticking throttle. I got the recall letter in August. Its now the middle of November and Im told theres only parts for 04 models and older. They have made modifications to unlatch and open a trunk from the inside and outside but beware, if that hood latches close, there’s no way out except the release located in the driver’s side. Seriously, 26,000. I don’t think I will purchase another product from them ever again.

How is this, when the car is still new? It took me 7 months to actually have this done, and the dealer was not of much help, until I wrote a lot of e-mails to the management.Why is it that, in this day and age, warranty, or customer concerns are not dealt with properly. Mazda now tells me by email, that they are not responsible. Perhaps using substandard materials? They are now just duping their customers. Second problem is that my tires lose 0.5, to 3 lbs of pressure, within a two week period, per tire, but of course, Mazda is not responsible. The dealer had finally water tested, and found nothing. It is a slow leak. Doesnt any one offer customer service any more, or are they just passing the buck.I guess I have to do the leg work, and call Michelin. I also have to get the alloy rims checked. As far as the seat goes, well, I have to deal with it on my own, of course Im sure, they would have no problem selling me one. As a first time Mazda owner, take my advice, and do not buy this substandard garbage. GM Im coming back.

Almost 1000 miles later, it is still doing it.NOW for the new problems. Yesterday I went to shift out of park and the transmission did not shift. 3 times I tried, finally it shifted. This morning I went to start my car via remote and I kept getting a P code on the fob. Book says its because the car was not in PARK. (Um yeah okay - car was parked in the driveway since 6pm the night before... and shut off). Cant wait for the BS they tell me now... Do yourself a favor. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER MAZDA. They took off oil pan (was tapping not knocking) now this is a 2009 Mazdaspeed 3 with a k&n air filter and a street unit blow off valve no big changes and no issues at all besides the tapping. Well long story short, they took the bearing out (crank) and when i said put it back together i need a second opinion. Had it towed to another Mazda dealer who found out there was a problem with the covered VVT valve issues but did not cover the engine (34,600 miles) because of the air filter and BOV. I called BS but some stupid fool tech said my car was highly modified (what!!!) so they did not cover it and i paid out of pocket $6000 plus for a new engine. And yes i have video and written proof that they put the bearings back in backwards and ruined the engine for a simple fix. Since then, I do all my own service and have had 0 problems with 86,00 miles with the k&n filter and BOV. Should i be pissed? Yes! But I love my Mazda and I am sure they know they abused this customer with tech experience and knowledge of cars and trucks for 30 years plus and would think they all knew better when it is under warranty. This is where the term Stealership came from. Sad but true. Even worst I am not the type of person to hunt down these fools and drag them in court just to make a point and get my money back. I will (foolish me) hope they learn and turn.

I have had regular oil changes and have done all scheduled maintenance since Ive owned it. I had issues with the tie rods (scary story as well) that needed replacing. I expect brakes, tires, batteries, etc. will need replacing. I even expect that at some point the water pump will require replacing. What I did not know, is that the water pump, which of course failed a month before Christmas, is in the middle of the engine. In order to replace this $159 part, the entire engine had to be removed. I was without my car for 4 days and the total bill was over $1700. $159 in parts and $1500 in labor ($105 per hour). I am of course out of warranty but the dealer said to call the customer service number, they will likely help. NOPE, not a dime. What I have discovered about Mazda is that MAZDA DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. I will NEVER buy another Mazda and I will be telling the world for the rest of my life. Mazda just doesnt care about their customers so think of that before you make such an expensive purchase.

The 5 looked sporty and slick with pearl white paint. I was very gentle on the car to break in the drivetrain; I would start it and let it warm up for ~30secs. But after the 1st oil change at 2900 miles at the dealer of course the engine would shutter upon start. When putting the car in reverse the engine would rev up to 3000rpms without any input. When trying to pass on freeway the check engine light would appear. When the wife bumped a neighborhood street curb the van would drift to the right. Took it to the dealer and service manager was disrespectful and defensive. He literally pointed his finger at me and accused me of street racing!? Really guy in a van. He said the check engine light was due to WOT passes. Yeah right, tell me the code on scanner. No sir you would not understand. I informed him that I was a certified ASE tech and been working on cars for over 15 years. He later told me only techs he had specialized in Mazda. Now that I have brought in the van this early in ownership I could imagine the problems down the road. I dont know the driving routine in Japan but this brand is as fragile as an old Jaguar. So I traded it in for an Explorer and 0 problems yet.

We took it in to the dealer and they told us the only problem was that of the thermostat. Thankfully, we had bought the extended warranty that covered this. They told us everything else was fine and that was the only problem they had come across. About six months later, the car still kept overheating and we noticed there was another leak. We took the car in and now they are saying it was a lack of maintenance from our part. The engine was blown and there was oil all over everything. They told us that if we proved we took care of the engine adequately, that our extended warranty would cover it. We did everything that we could and got all the receipts of the Synthetic Oil we had bought, got all our ducks in a row and handed them the evidence they needed. Now, they are saying that due to the sludge, the warranty can be void. At this point, I started doing research based on the fact that we did take care of our car and its oil was changed even before it had to. (A car is a major investment. Why would we not take care of it when were spending $700-$900 a month to keep this car?) Something wasnt right. I had to put two and two together. According to other Mazda CX7 owners, their engines started giving out at 40k-80k miles. I also talked to a mechanic who told me they believe the engine is overheating due to the turbo in the engine, causing everything to melt. I talked to the main Mazda mechanic about this and they said that they cant do anything but wait and see if the insurance will cover this and replace the engine. He said he knows about the problems people have reported but there is nothing he can do. Mazda is definitely a major rip off and scam. They scam people out of their money by giving them faulty cars that give out way before 100k miles and then tell them its because they didnt take proper care of their engines. Buyers, beware of Mazda and even their Platinum warranty. They will use every excuse to void this! Read all the reviews of unhappy customers! Mazda is definitely not owning up to this like they should. The Mazda CX 7 engine is no good!

I had to center a piece of debris in the road and it struck and punctured the engine oil pan. This minor contact deployed both airbags which busted the windshield and knocked out my radio, vent louvers and rearview mirror.My research via the internet found this to be an issue with 95 Miatas. Please look into this issue to confirm if Mazda is responsible for the bags/glass/control module, sensors and switches. Understandably, the oil pan is my problem, and thank goodness I was not injured by the bags or fling glass and was able to maintain control of the vehicle.
