Land Rover is a British brand of predominantly four-wheel drive, off-road capable vehicles, owned by multinational car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover, since 2008 a subsidiary of India's Tata Motors. JLR currently builds Land Rovers in Brazil, China, India, Slovakia, and the United Kingdom.

Off-roading and luxury rarely go hand-in-hand, but the 2020 Land Rover Discovery is the perfect vehicle for this rare intersection of automotive categories. Not only is it a genuine go-anywhere SUV, it's also good at toting the family around town and ticking off errands from your weekend to-do list. It offers space for up to seven in its upscale cabin and buyers can choose from two V-6 engines: either an efficient diesel or a thirsty-but-muscly supercharged gasoline-powered engine. An optional air suspension provides additional ground clearance on demand for when the going gets rough. Cargo space is good unless you're planning on toting both a full-load of passengers and their cargo, but Land Rover will happily sell those folks a roof-top cargo box that will look right at home atop the Discovery's ruggedly styled body.

Product Reviews:

I bought my 3rd Land Rover in 2017 after a long hiatus (after issues in 1998/2003). Almost immediately the infotainment screen began blacking out and rebooting all the time. It took 3 days for them to update this, it worked a bit better but it was not perfect. Whenever I called in for service, they would ask me if I was SURE I wanted to get it fixed (like, are you SURE you want to wait for how long it's going to take us) because they don't have loaner cars, and the technicians are slow to get to issues. This was April 2017. Forward to December. I am driving out of my neighborhood (I am at 5500' altitude) and I accelerate aggressively to get around an 18 wheeler as I am getting into high speed traffic coming down the mountain. My accelerator pulls from my foot, is flush with the floor, and tips at 85 mph with the RPM gauge redlining at 8000. The car is wobbling and shaking, I have zero control of it. I press the brake several times pretty hard/gentle and it finally pops out. I never drove the car again. (Note, the service person had the audacity to ask if I was sure I wasn't accidentally driving with both feet. Right. 1st gear at 8000 RPM. With my right foot on the brake. Yeah). Car was towed back to the dealership where I got it, 500 miles away, they offered me a decent trade amount, I trade up to a Supercharged regular Range Rover, with a hefty price tag. They put this car above back out on the lot for sale a few days later. The new car has issues almost immediately. The steering wheel jerking into left and right lanes at high speeds out of the blue. Techs said, "Oh disable your lane assist". So I did that, no help. I almost was jerked into an 18 wheeler on a curve on a highway in the rain the next day going 65mph. Then they say, "Oh, disable your blind spot warning". I did this as well. Of no help. I go in and uncheck the "driver assist" for both options, and it seems to help some. Then of course the black screen starts its visits, rebooting in the middle of driving or not coming on at all. Bluetooth calls dropping. The gear shift dial sticking (can't D to R or R to D or P) and with the computer rebooting randomly, coming back on during driving, all the cameras go nuts and start making sounds all over the place until it realizes that the car is actually DRIVING now, not trying to park. The dealership refunded my money for this one. I am forever grateful for that, they did step up. They did imply that LR's were more for appeal and looks and status than reliability and dependability. They say, it's a great car if you are ok with being in the shop, even better to live near one. I got a GMC Yukon Denali yesterday. It's amazing, and my breakup with Land Rover is complete. The accelerator incident was one of the scariest events of my life. I am not a panicky person, but I had nightmares for weeks after that one.

The car is a statement and is not only ready for all weather conditions and terrain. It's just as at home in the city streets as it is on a mountainside. It come in many different colors and finishes, leather and upgrades, care and maintenance packages. I wanted a specific wood grain and needed a sunroof, back carriage organizer, golf package, - specific white exterior. I got everything I was looking for. The truck comfortably seats 4, but 5 is its capacity. I don't have any children or carpooling, just me and my partner. So the size is perfect for furniture shopping.

Land Rover offers great vehicles, which are very economic on gas and great for road trips. It's easy to fix and take care of. It's a very nice and sophisticated type of vehicle. The interior is very nice, mirrors work well, electronic locks, and spacious room to put things to go on a travel. It has enough room to fit a family of 6 and room in the back to put bags and luggage for vacation and has plenty of room to be comfortable for long trips. Every few years newer models have been produced and the options have become more updated.

I am a student in the United States. I wanted to purchase a car from the local retailer in Richmond, Virginia. They refused to sell me a car just because I am a student but I felt it was a race discrimination. They kept asking me from where I am getting my money. I wanted to purchase a car for my own use while I am here in the United States for the duration I am studying. They started asking me personal question like from where will you get your money. For the past three months I have not gotten an answer from them. I went to visit the dealership again but they asked me to provide a 6 months bank statement. I am not sure why would they want one since I am not financing the car (I can't get a finance since I am an international student). They have been giving me a really hard time. There is no law within the United States that would prohibit me from purchasing a car. I currently own a jeep and would really like to add a Range Rover in the family. I hope I can hear from you soon and help me out with this situation.

I purchased a beautiful 2020 Range Rover Sport HST with red/black interior on 10/13/19. ON 10/25/19 I started experiencing problems. One of the display screens started to blind on and off constantly and the other two screens were scramble. I also was receiving a message saying "intelligent brake system not available". The service department performed a software update and changed a part. The day I pick up my vehicle from the service department the same problems started again maybe 3 hours later. A few days later while waiting in the valet parking line the truck just turned off while I was still in drive. This happen twice. Another visits to the service department for a software update again and I was told my battery was dead; so they charged my battery. As of 1/6.2020 my vehicle is back in shop again waiting for anther display and a part because now I'm receiving a message say "Forward alert not available". The dealer refused to give me another vehicle and land rover customer service has not return any of my phone calls. I was given a case number and told it can take a few months for land rover to decide if they want to purchase the vehicle back.

I left the car running on my street with the door open while I got out to put my dog away. When I came walking back from behind the house the Evoque was going up the street on its own. If kids would have been in the street like normal they would have been run over. The SUV door hit my brick mailbox and stopped the car. When I got in the SUV the gear shift control was still in the Park position.I called Range Rover and they responded with a tow truck and took the SUV to the dealership. The dealership had it for a couple weeks with very little communication with us. Then one day called and said they could not replicate the problem and said "we are pushing your Evoque outside so you need to make arrangements to have it picked-up and file an insurance claim." They said, "you must have left it in reverse and gotten out of the car." As you can imagine I was not happy.Next came the repair. The auto body shop called me a few days later telling me that LR/RR said the repair parts were not in the US and it could take from 3 months to one year to get parts. I have been fighting every day with LR corp and still have no ETA for any of it. Seems crazy but I would never by a LR/RR again. Customer service is so bad and my wife will never want to drive a car that can drop in a gear by itself. She has told me to sell the car when we get it back. I am going to have to inform the buyer of the issue.

I purchased this new Range Rover PHEV in May last year. In September we couldn't detach the charging cable. Roadside assist came and said the fault with this is so bad it needs to go to the dealer. This took the dealer and Land Rover 3 months to fix, with all sorts of faults discovered and waits for parts. We get it back and start to get major issues with the infotainment system and departure timers losing settings at random, or the car locking up during the charging cycle, so it won't actually charge. There no traffic info available now, the sun blind operates on its own while driving, the radio can change volume on its own, camera alerts are at maximum system volume, sometimes the infotainment system won't come on until you drive a mile or so.I have documented these and other faults, but are told there's nothing wrong with the car. I even have video evidence, but nothing is being done by JLR, who are aware of it, both at Dealer and Factory level. The leather seats are showing signs of wear on the seat base - The dealer "steamed" the leather to cure the issues, 500 miles later it's as bad as ever. I understand too that it's now subject to a recall because the engine does not meet publish emission standards. We have purchased over the years 2 Discos and 9 Range Rovers - Never again will I buy a JLR product, there's simply inadequate support.

In 2012 our LR2 was at 118,421. We were told by Redwood City service that differential/transmission failed. Replacement cost = $7,000. We said "NO." It is 2015. LR2 is over 161,000 miles. Differential/transmission = good. Conclusion?

I was very satisfied with my purchase. I also loved the salesman who sold me the car. I had it customized to my specifics and was very happy about it. I would not add any specific details as is looks great. I'm very happy with the look of the car. The size of the car is very huge and very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this car to others because of the size of the car. I really do love and enjoy it very much.

The car has 50,000 miles on it and I have had to replace the power steering shaft at a cost of $1,600. The horn button broke off and they do not sell just the button, they make you replace the entire horn. Most recently, my check engine light is reporting miss fires and they are recommending replacing all wires and spark plugs at a cost of $1,100. All of this within a 3 month period - awesome. I will never buy a Land Rover product ever again, and I am currently trying to sell mine. Don't put yourself through this. Oh, and in the same breath, the lovely assistant told me that my head gaskets are leaking coolant and oil which will be very costly. Great.
