I have a 2014 Kia with 130,000 highway miles. It is now using oil. In the 50+ years I have owned vehicles I have never had one that used oil. At 86,000 miles it needed rear calipers because they were rusted on. Four mechanics told me this was not normal. This car is either on the highway or in a dry garage. Kia refused to help in any way shape or form. Needless to say my next vehicle will not be a Kia. I purchased this vehicle from the Kia dealership in Boardman Ohio and I have never experienced such unprofessional customer service.

I purchased a 2016 Kia Soul+ in October 2016. I loved my Soul... so much that I was recommending Kia to all of my family and friends. Well... while on vacation June 20, 2017, my Kia Soul+ seized on the freeway while going 65 mph!!! Lucky for me and my family, the freeway was fairly empty. Had it towed to a nearby Kia Dealer. They determined it was the same problem that all the cars on the recall list were having. So they gave me a rental and sent me on my way. It's been three weeks and still no answer as to when my car will be fixed. I live 600 miles away from where my car is at! I can't believe that in the past 6 years Kia hasn't resolved this issue with the engine!! I'll be trading in my Kia for something else! This is unacceptable!

My wife was in an accident on Monday, 10/31/11 on Hwy 741 and her car was totaled out. My wife has developed pain in her neck and back area, now her chest. During this accident, none of the airbags deployed at all. We had a wrecker driver take our car to a body shop in Forney, Texas and the manager showed us 5 other cars that were Kia that had the same problem to where the airbags haven't deployed. Is this a defect in the system? My wife could have been in a very serious situation or even killed in this accident. We put our trust in these cars when we purchased them from the dealerships and later we found out that they are not working properly.

I took my Soul to Kia due to a screeching noise in the front while braking thinking there may be a stone stuck in the pad. Come to find out the rotors had rusted in the front only to the point that they were pitted. I bought the car a few months prior from an independent dealer and the Kia dealer said that the car must have sat for a while but they were not sure. Thus is just conjecture on their part. They said the rotors were not covered because the warranty does not cover rust. They recommended that I call Kia corporate and see if they will make an exception. I called and was treated poorly by Robin, a supervisor, but after an exercise in patience she agreed to escalate the issue to the district service manager. It has been 3 working days and I am still waiting to hear back from them. I had to take it back so they could get pictures of the rotors over the weekend. The funny thing is that rotors on the rear are fine which makes no sense unless poor rotor quality or substandard design with the front brake system. The service department says that the district service manager will likely approve it but it can take another day or two and it will take more time to get the parts in. Meanwhile I am driving a car that the front brakes sound terrible and I feel unsafe driving. Very poor customer service and quality.

I thought I found my dream car, but ended up having it for just 3 weeks. Two and a half weeks after purchasing, my battery went dead so I had it jumped and my boss checked the oil since the hood was open. He was totally shocked as there was absolutely no oil reading on the stick at all. We went and got a quart of oil and told me to immediately take it to the dealer. The dealer gave me a loaner car for the day so they could make sure there was no damage and said it was fine, topped it off with oil and said there was a loose wire on the battery. Three days later my husband drove the car to the store and called me and said he now knows where the oil is going... It's burning it. He said he saw a stream of smoke as he drove down the road. My first response was, "this can't be... I am so in love with this car"!! (Crazy I know!)I called the dealership and my husband took it straight there and they said a Kia dealer needs to look at it. Well, long story short and tons of phone calls to the Dealer and Kia Consumer Affairs, there was major sludge in the engine and the engine needed a replacement. According to Carfax, per Kia, there is no indication there was any maintenance to the car which resulted in the sludge. I've never even heard the word sludge in regards to a car until this and now that I've researched it... it's an ongoing problem. Even though the car is still under the 60,000 mile warranty, Kia is not taking any responsibility and claims the dealer should have checked the car thoroughly before selling it to me. Kia also denied the warranty with this same problem on this car in July 2016 so the original owner traded it in for another victim to purchase and deal with this problem, which ultimately was me. Kia denies the warranty because of no proof of proper maintenance, but yet doesn't protect the next buyer with the sludge problem for this to happen again to an innocent buyer that was in search of a car. They claimed they didn't report things like that to Carfax. I stated, "well maybe the owner did his own oil changes like my husband does and maybe it could be a defective problem." Of course there was no reason for them to listen to my plea or opinion. There was no reason for me to know there was any kind of problem. We checked the car out and everything looked great under the hood that we could see as well as the running of the car for the 3 weeks I had it. I just want to make it clear to the next buyer... Just because you're buying a car with a "warranty" it could have the word "if" behind it, so please be careful. Check the car fax, obviously it's their "certifiable proof" of the maintenance of the vehicle, (it's not just for wrecks anymore), read any lawsuits that are out there and for the lenders, be careful of what you're financing. If a car fax determines the maintenance of a car and a warranty that is not being honored because of it, you could be holding a title of a car that is not even on the road and end up in your parking lot broken down. Meanwhile, the consumer's credit that they have worked on for years go to shambles. Personally, I believe over greed and deceit. I've been without a car for 10 days now and unsure where all of this is going. Loved my car and so did my clients that I drove around. It's a shame how this was handled. I just hope I protect the next person on what to look at before purchasing what they believe has a warranty and is protected.

We have called and dealt with the car dealer about the front end thumping sound. We had to replace the tires at 22,000 miles and we had the car in the car dealer 10 times. With only 22,000 miles on the car, we spent $672.15 for new tires and the dealer would not help, Atlantic Kia (out of bus., selling Kias now) in Pleasantville, NJ 08232. Now with 70,000, it needs tires again and the thumping area is the worst of the 3 tires. Now we will spend $550 for new tires. With that we always get rotation, balancing and front end alignments. We have all receipts but Kia will not call or email back and will not help at all.

On 10/12/2021, I brought my 08 Kia Sedona EX with 181k miles in for a Oil Change at Plaza KIA, Brooklyn NY. And was returned to me with the Oil Pressure light on dashboard followed by the Check Engine light. The mechanic saw the dashboard's lights on while backing out the garage and tried to reset them, but to no avail. The Service Manager ran over claiming the mechanic done nothing wrong. Although, my vehicle didn't go in with these lights on. Kia claims no fault and blames the age of the vehicle. The Service Manager went on to state that they gave me a free diagnostic worth $129 and concluded that the Oil Sensor is the problem. And, that this repair and labor is a consumer purchase. The Mechanic attempted to inspect and troubleshoot this issue and was stopped by the Service Manager. I found this to be appalling and upsetting that my vehicle drove in to KIA fine and came out needing repair work that I have to pay for? Took vehicle to a independent shop nearby, They did inspection and found, 1) The Oil Sensor was not the issue and think it's the Oil Pump... 2) KIA put 5W-30 Oil in instead of 10W-40 Oil for such a high mileage vehicle, stating 5W-30 is like water and best when vehicle was new... 3) That I should stop driving the vehicle immediately before the engine eats itself from low oil pressure. So, I called corporate, they claim no fault, won't take any steps or actions to resolve this issue, and asked that I no longer come to them for service. To me, this look like mechanical neglect and attempted cover up by KIA. So, So Upset. Buyer Beware!!!

My Kia Sorento is as nice as a Lexus. It drives and handles very well. It has a very nice interior and the heated and cooled seats are great. The panoramic roof is nice!

We bought a Kia Sorento and financed through Kia.... HUGE MISTAKE! This company is absolutely horrible to work with... We traded our Kia for a different vehicle in February. The Kia was paid off via the new dealership... BUT Kia has called us 3 and 4 times a day trying to collect on a vehicle that we no longer own. We have spoke to several people at Kia giving them the payoff information and at the end of each call they still ask for payment.... YES... They ask for payment for a vehicle that we no longer own. There is a time lapse on Kia from payoff to their collection department. These people are awful to work with. For a month they call us numerous times a day....even after giving them proof of payoff! Our Kia was a good vehicle.... Just do not finance through Kia financial. I won't ever buy another Kia just for that reason! Horrible, Horrible Customer Service!!!!

Bought our first brand new 2011 Kia Sorrento because we wanted a warranty to cover any problems. In October, we noticed the paint was starting to bubble and chip off all over the top of the car and the hood. We took it to the service dept. At the dealership where we purchased it (don't ever do business with Keffer Kia in Mooresville, NC) and they told us it won't be covered under our bumper to bumper five-year warranty because we must have either driven through something or parked it under a tree. Are you friggin' kidding me?We now have a lawyer. I'm saddened by the fact that there is no honor or loyalty anymore when you purchase something today. I am also offended that they have the nerve to actually accuse a customer of something so ridiculous just to get out of fixing something that is clearly a defect. Anyway, just in case someone else is having the same problem, no, you are not going crazy and should complain about as well because I believe in the power of the pen and the power of all people united. If enough people come forward with these problems, the companies will have no choice but to start taking responsibilities for their merchandise.
