Please forward to any other KIA Executive Team member that should be informed. We just want to share with you an extremely disappointing Customer Experience and lack of Customer Care from one of your car dealers located in Delray Beach Florida. On Saturday, July 30th my wife and I dropped by your dealer in Delray. After discussing pricing and other related information, we proceeded to sign the necessary papers for your team to prepare the loan documentation and other documents necessary for us to come the next day to pick up a car that your team said was supposedly somewhere in Florida. After various phone calls during Monday, August 1st we agreed with your team to drop by the Dealer at around 7:00 PM ET, which we did. When we arrived, for our surprise your team shared with us that the car they were expecting to be delivered to their dealership for us (a 2016 Kia Sorento white LX) was involved in an accident. The car was being drove by someone instead of being delivered in a toll platform truck to avoid precisely these type of issues. Your management team should learn from this experience. In summary, we spent hours, expected a new KIA SUV be delivered to us today Monday August 1st. For our surprise nothing was delivered to us because after such a poor Customer Experience your team was not able to deliver as expected. We shared with the Manager what we expected because of the frustrating and disappointing customer experience, and that KIA management should review our situation and at a minimum propose to us a 2017 with the same financial numbers we already discussed. Your Manager understood our frustration, but was not able to compensate us for such a bad customer experience. He proposed us a 2017 but it represented around $4K dollars more than what was already discussed and agreed to (because that was all he was able to do at this level), which is NOT ACCEPTABLE to us, that was not what we originally agreed to. They ruined our weekend, our illusions and our expectations... Is this what KIA calls Customer Satisfaction? This transaction took place on the last day of the month for your Dealer. We do not want to think that they just wanted to book the sale and once the month was over they left us hanging with the problem. If you measure your Dealers based on executed sales, then this is a mute point, but if its based on sales book, then this is a problem. I just want to make sure I bring this issue to the attention of the KIA Management team, because this the worst Customer Experience I have suffered in my lifetime. KIA lost a potential customer for life. I will make sure that I share my experience with family members, work colleagues, and in social media as well. This should have never happened. A satisfactory customer resolution should have been found immediately to this situation.

2012 I purchased Kia Ceed 29,000 miles from Kia garage with one previous owner. Issues with the gears stiff, failing to engage the garage and web info said this is normal. The problem increased. Car became unsafe to drive. I requested the garage to investigate. The garage has now confirmed the clutch and flywheel (plus) other components have broken. Kia head office has refused to fix the car under the warranty stating wear and tear. The garage is refusing to do the work - cost of repair is 1000. The garage is also stating this kind of failure happens with low mileage. Head office stated poor driving caused the problem. As you can gather I am not impressed with the service provided by Kia, or the car! Has anyone else had a similar issue, or could offer advice?

In March of 2012, I purchased a new 2012 Kia Rio. Not long after having it, the radio would not read CDs. I had it in the dealer service department several times, and I would still have the same problem. The dealer finally decided to replace the radio with a re-manufactured one. The refurbished one that was put in was even worse than the original one. It would freeze up, go out, and do things without me touching it. Also, I would lose control of it, and it would even stay on after the car was shut off, key taken out of ignition, and car locked. I took it to another dealer to have them look at it. And after a long period of time of having problems with it, it was replaced again with yet another refurbished one. It worked okay for a while, and now all of a sudden, when turned on, there is no sound. There is no sound whatsoever when I run the volume knob up and down. I am fed up with Kia for their products and service! I will never buy another Kia! I am in the process of filing a lemon law claim with the BBB. They should buy this vehicle back after countless sorry attempts to fix the problem and Im still having trouble out of it!

Purchased a 2011 Kia Sorrento brand new (less than 100 miles on it) in August of 2014. Went to bring it in for a simple camera replacement that would be covered under the 5 year/60k warranty, only to find out that the warranty started back in 2011 when the car was placed on the lot. So by the time I purchased the car, there were only 2 years left of the warranty unbeknownst to me (even though they sold me the car as new --certainly not a demo). Conveniently no one is able to resolve this issue -- hitting a wall with kiaconsumeraffairs, and the dealership is just not helpful altogether. This is my second Kia, and will now be my last. A lot of headache over a quick repair. Curious if all dealerships do this to lessen the chance of someone making a claim under the warranties -- have them all start prior to the car being sold.

Rattle from under dashboard from new, told at 1500 service plastic settling in. Told at 15000 service not covered by warranty as it was due to plastic dash etc and classed as normal. 27000 rattle driving me mad, again not covered by warranty. Spoke to RACQ, they felt it was definitely a warranty problem. Contacted Kia Sydney, ** promised to ring back. Still waiting, contacted Kia in Korea no response. Service manager from Kia service in Bundamba Ipswich contacted me saying they will have a look at the car, but will take a WEEK to check it out and no promises it will be covered by warranty.

Thinking it was normal warranty work, I went to Pence KIA to get my 2010 Kia Soul (with a little over 30,000 miles) have its rear wiper motor looked at for a grinding noise it was making. I was told that it was an adjustment and lubrication issue and is not warranty covered. KIA installed a motor on the car with admitted insufficient grease inside the motor and would be deemed a defective manufacturing issue. Now, they do not want to honor their obligation under their warranty saying it is an adjustment and lubrication issue, which I need to pay for. Below is the TBS issued by KIA where they admit to insufficient grease inside the wiper motor.“Visibility: rear window wiper/washer: Kia: service action - rear wiper squeal noise repair (sa026). Provides information relating to some vehicles that may experience a rear wiper squeal noise when operating. This concern is due to insufficient grease inside the rear wiper motor. 2010 Kia Soul Technical Service Bulletin 2010/01/01 NHTSA #: 10033669, Service Bulletin #: TSB-054.”

We took ownership of a brand new 2019 Kia Niro EX on 1/30/19, it would not start on 2/1/19. A tow company employee came by and took out a porta start battery jumper, hooked it up and the vehicle would still not start... It was put on trickle charge overnight and the battery was fully charged on [AM] 2/2/19 but same problem persisted... Resolution = have it towed in, no vehicle to use in the interim (UVO message says were closed, bye and roadside response says they do not deal with anything other than getting the vehicle hauled in). I have a hard time wrapping my head around what happened. The dealer says UVO should/can help but, unfortunately, if you need rental assistance and it is the weekend--- it appears you are out of luck (vacation with family/friends!). I think KIA needs to retool their customer relations department. Last KIA I buy and I will be sure to relate my experience (with no exaggeration) to those asking me how do you like your new car? ...Oh, do you mean the new (219) KIA Niro EX we bought on Wed and on Friday we had no vehicle to use, no communication/help except a tow company suppose I was out of town with my family... Cant make it up! I could go on but would rather focus my time on laying out my experience with KIA, which I will do. I would be more than happy to send documentation to anyone who is interested/in need of it.

Leased an awesome car for 36 months. Great shape when we turned it in. Waited for the final bill for the turn in fee ($400). When the bill came they soaked us for another $500 for wear and tear on tires though our mileage was less than the agreement. BEWARE.

2015 Soul a big loser. Under powered especially with air turned on. So-so gas mileage. I live in FL, the air conditioner has a hard time keeping car cool once it hits 90 degrees. Have to keep on recycle a lot. Stupid stuff Kia did: Cant install a cargo cover in base model, I guess they dont want to sell them; Cant purchase body side moldings, I guess they want you to bring the car into their shops to fix all the dings. The only thing that saves this car is the warranty.

I loved my vehicle when I bought her, she was pre-owned but very well looked after, one of the reasons why I bought her. A couple of months after buying the vehicle, one of my tenants, who I did not know worked for a Kia dealership, came over to me and asked if she could give me a piece of good advice. Sure, I said, always open to good advice. Little did I know that the advice she gave me would turn out to be the best advice I never took. She told me to sell the Kia Sorento because it was going to give me endless trouble. Since she told me I have replaced a gear box oil seal, cylinder head gasket, radiator water bottle (took Kia month and a half to get me a replacement water bottle), 2 radiator water hoses, radiator, crankshaft pulley bolt, and most recently a thermostat, where again Kia took 6 weeks to find me a spare. Like I said, I love the vehicle, but I will never buy another Kia as long as I live.

The 2011 Kia Forte ran great for 50K miles. Then, I guess I hit a rock - thats what the dealer told me - that apparently damaged the transmission fluid line underneath the car. They fixed it and told me the transmission was fine. So 1,250 miles later, the tranny locks up in 4th gear. Now, Kia is telling me that I should call my insurance company to take care of this. I told them, “No way. You guys told me it was fine. Now, you want to backtrack and blame the so-called accident.” Now, they’re saying if their metal in the bottom of the filter, then its on me. I dont think so.

Kia has advised me recently that they had overstated the fuel economy ratin
Kia has advised me recently that they had overstated the fuel economy ratings for the 2012 Kia Sorento that I purchased for my wife Barbara earlier this year. This is very disappointing to us as we bought this vehicle primarily based on the EPA mileage estimate on the window sticker. It is now obvious that we were deliberately misled by KIA. We feel like fools! Kia has proposed lowering the mileage estimate on our 2012 Sorento, only 1-2 mpg from 22/32mpg to 21/30mpg. Based on my experience, this is not enough. We are getting only about 25-27mpg highway and have done a lot of that type of driving since we bought the vehicle last spring. Reimbursing us for a 1-2mpg difference is woefully inadequate. If we knew that 26mpg highway was all we were going to get, we would never have purchased this vehicle in the first place.Every time we complained about the mileage disappointment, we were told by many different KIA personnel that we hadnt driven enough miles. Need to break in the engine and drive about 5,000 miles to realize the higher numbers, they said. Then when we passed 5,000 miles and didnt get the promised mileage numbers, they moved the bar and told us to drive 10,000 miles. Now we are at 13,000+ miles and still getting only about 26mpg hwy. This suggests a systemic issue where the entire Kia organization was involved in the cover up. The projected reimbursement of 1-2mpg for the difference between the EPA estimate and new EPA estimate does not come anywhere near making up for the difference between the promised 32mpg highway versus the 26mpg that we are getting. We are only experiencing 18mpg city and 26mpg highway, which is significantly less than the revised estimates of 21/30mpg. The proposed compensation for the additional fuel costs incurred based on 1-2mpg is insufficient and should be 3-4mpg higher. If Kia is truly committed to compensating affected owners fairly, for the unexpected fuel costs resulting from this lower fuel economy experience, they need to do more than this. As someone who spent over 30 years in the customer relations activities, I believe Kia will have 900,000 unhappy former customers who will do long lasting damage to the Kia/Hyundai brands. If Kia truly values its owners, they need to do more to make this right with them. This was the first Kia that we have ever purchased. Based on the way we feel, we will never consider buying another Kia or Hyundai product again.A car owner should have a special relationship with his vehicle. Being pleased at how it looks when he approaches the vehicle and fully satiated with how it performs when he is behind the wheel. However, every day when I drive our Sorento and watch the mpg readout on my dashboard consistently running 3-4mpg less than the revised estimates, I am overcome with feelings of buyers remorse and I feel deceived all over again. In addition, the proposed remedy does not address the negative impact on the value of our Sorento. Right now we feel duped, would never buy another Kia or Hyundai vehicle again and will tell everyone we know that they should not ever trust what Kia or Hyundai says.If Kia really wanted to build long term, trust-based relationships where customer satisfaction is central to their business, they would increase the proposed compensation. Apologies and regret wont cut it. I have significant regret at purchasing my first Kia product. If Kia is fully committed to doing everything to resolve this problem and want to make things right for those affected, increase our compensation.

I bought a new car from Kia in November at 9 pm. After spending about 3 hrs there because the salesmen who promised to give me a better deal went home without calling me they then tried to charge me about a 100.00 more than the other dealer. The next day I noticed a small ding in door but was going to let it go until I noticed part of the rear bumper area had waves or indentations throughout it. I finally got it fixed after being laughed at originally. Three months ago I noticed the paint on my car starting to pop. There are no dents on the car and it is garage kept yet they are trying to avoid fixing it and blaming it on something contaminating the paint. This is garage kept in a personal parking spot at work with no trees around it. I partially blame the dealer. But for Kia corporate not to take action is inexcusable. I have missed work because of the stress this has put on me and I now may have to take legal action to get it fixed

07 Sorento - I have had my car to Kia service shops many times complaining about engine noises. The first at 7700 miles. Of course they couldnt find anything so it went back again and again. Its now in the shop 2000 miles away from my warranty being out and it needs a new motor. Now Im being told that Kia will not cover it due to insufficient service records. I have all the records, just some of the oil change receipts, dont have mileage written on them so they wont accept those. However its ok for us to have receipts from Wal-Mart where we bought oil and filter and changed ourselves, no mileage written on it but that ones ok. Theyll accept it. I spoke with someone from Kia before submitting my claim to them and she told me as long as I had some of the records that should be fine. What a joke. I think they need to start honoring their warranties or maybe make your cars right the first time.

This car has a defect that Kia is not telling consumers. If you try to turn into oncoming traffic and hit the gas quickly this car will actually stop in the middle of intersection and leave you there while the POS Traction catches up with the engine. Very unsafe. The Tech from Kia has informed me that there is no fix and they all do it, so his remedy is to just take it easy and be careful when entering intersection to make sure you leave lots of room before pulling out... I could not believe this and I want to warn other consumers before you spend $65,000.00 on a car. DO NOT BUY THE KIA K900. Its a death trap waiting to happen. I am getting rid of this car ASAP before I end up in a very serious accident Killing some innocent people or my family. DO NOT NOT NOT BUY THIS CAR.

I have sent a message to customer service about my cracked bumper and I am extremely upset with the situation. Here are the pictures regarding my e-mail and I would like a response from customer service. I am an unsatisfied customer and I regret buying a car from Kia since I was not aware that the plastic was this cheap. I did not hit a snow bank nor did I run over anything. I am a very careful driver and I am not happy that the cheap bumper cracked on its own and I am extremely not happy about the incompetent Kia technicians at the Kia Montreal-North. They were arrogant and unhelpful in so many ways and blamed me, the customer, for the cracked bumper without any interest in hearing my side of the story. My e-mail is ** and I will be waiting for the prompt reply this coming week. Thank you and have a good day!

This is the first brand new car I ever bought. I bought it because I was sick of always having to fix my used car. I wrongly assumed I would not have this problem with a new car. I bought it in October. The acceleration sticks on gear change, but I didnt want to spend my life in the shop (again) so I deal with it. When summer hit, I found out the AC didnt work. I scheduled a service time. The guy on the phone was a bit rude but I chalked it up to him probably having a bad day. They dye the AC and tell me to come back in a week. Its still blowing cold, but I bring it back as requested. They cannot find the issue, so they send me on my way. Two weeks later, its blowing hot air again. I have to go back. This time they tell me the hose is broken and replace it. It took them 3 days to replace a single hose. While I am grateful I received a car to drive in the meantime, it was the most disgusting pile of garbage I had ever had the displeasure of driving. Whoever had previously owned this vehicle did not in any way take care of it. After day 3 of calling and waiting for the car to be fixed, I drove over to the dealership after work and vowed to wait until they took care of it, regardless how long it took. I walked in and they asked if I was there to pick up my car. They never bothered to call me.Today I had a flat tire. No spare in the trunk, which I had foolishly thought would be standard for every vehicle. I called the dealership and was told to call roadside assistance, which was free. Okay, fair enough, but if the tire cant be fixed, I cant afford to buy a new one right now, so I dont know if thats a good idea. I was blown off (same guy as earlier, still rude so obviously not just a bad day thing) and told to just call roadside assistance and go from there. I was also told that tires were not covered under the warranty, which was the only question he bothered to answer. Of course they arent. In all, because I did not have a spare tire, it took me 6 hours and a total loss of days wages to get a flat tire fixed, and surprise! Its covered under warranty. So not only was the guy rude, but he lied to me too. I have become more acquainted with the service staff at Kia in the last 9 months than I was with my mechanic in the last two years of my used car. I bought a new car to avoid that.I am very dissatisfied with Kia and their customer service. I requested a manager when I got there, to discuss the issue of the rude representative, and he never once showed his face in the time I was waiting for my car to be fixed. Because of that, I came here to post a public review instead of keeping the issue between me and the manager.

We bought a Kia Sportage new. The engine blew on the interstate. No engine warning lights, nothing at all. Engine is blown. We have meticulously maintained this car and gave the records. 139K miles and it is now dead. Dealer diagnosed engine failure consistent with other recalled Kia/Hyundai motors but they refused to replace engine. Kia corporate (consumer affairs) was very helpful at first but as soon as the dealer confirmed a defective engine consumer affairs has gone silent. They do not return calls after at least 10 messages. BEWARE of the 2.0L and the 2.4L Theta II engines. They are defective. Kia recalled only a small number of them. A large number are failing. 2017 Sorento engine seized in October of 2018. Vehicle is sitting at the Cooper Kia dealership in NY. Rewind. Vehicle had a slight knocking sound. Husband calls dealership and states that oil change was already scheduled following day and they say bring it up on Monday as it was Friday. Oil change completed and drove car home. A while later went to run errands and horrible loud knocking at this point. Call Kia and they say, Drive it up to us. Um ok. Not even 5 mile out of my home city and the freaking car dies on the highway, my husband driving and me following. Had a hard time getting it off to the shoulder and waited for roadside. Kia calls following week and says they need maintenance records before they will inspect. Faxed them over right away and charge me to take the valve cover off. Then then say engine needs to be replaced at my cost! No way!Under warranty with 32,000 miles. Kia said that oil changes were not legit. They said that because the VIN number not on the receipt, no good. So I argued the fact that the license number on all receipts could be traced to DMV to verify. Duh. Back and forth arguing and they finally decide they will honor warranty engine replacement but my husband has to pay for labor about 1,000. Uh ok. 9 months have passed and engine on backorder.Call in every month to see status and no one really knows. Kia consumer affairs had the third now rep that just called to see what’s going on. Really? You’re calling us. Billy from Kia consumer says that it doesn’t look like the engine will be in by the time the lease is up. So I’m paying for a vehicle and carrying full insurance that I haven’t driven in 9 months. He proceeds to have us contact KMF and the dealership to try and get out of the lease. We’ve asked to get out of the lease several times and denied. KMF said, Don’t call and ask us as it is solely up to Kia and the dealership. Ridiculous runaround and fed up with the terrible lies.Received a campaign letter about software issue and knocking engines to update in February. Maybe if the stinking sensor worked and warned people beforehand they could fix issues before disaster strikes. Or perhaps stop making the darn crappy engines and blaming consumers. What a disappointment. Husband went up to get plates off vehicle last week. Contacted BBB and attorney general. We shall see. I don’t want this SUV back. Never buy a Kia and don’t let them convince you that it’s your fault. FYI number 4 cylinder misfire code and crankshaft misaligned. Kia, your engines suck and you know it. With all the lawsuits and recalls, don’t be surprised if they go belly up in the industry. Awful experience.

I bought a Kia Forte for my daughter in 2016. She had the car for about 6 months and it was totaled when a hog ran onto the highway during a night that had heavy fog. We had the gap so I wasn’t worried because it was my understanding they pay the car off. I had asked multiple times if this would affect my credit and I was assured it wouldn’t. The car was totaled in March and in September I get a bill for around $1,100. I called and was informed that gap didn’t cover everything so I paid the bill. I go to purchase a car last week only to find that they had put delinquent payments on my credit report until it was completely paid off. That was from May to November they put delinquent payments every month. I called to get this removed because that wasn’t what I was told. Kia absolutely refused to remove it and informed me that in the contract you have 120 days to pay off the car. The gap didn’t even pay their part until June. They clearly don’t care or try to work with people. I will never purchase from them again. The man told me that they never said that and acted like I was the enemy. It was on a recorded line, but it is clear what kind of company they are. Save yourself the trouble. Don’t buy from them. This is the first time that I had ever had to use the gap and if you buy from them and it happens to you they will screw up your credit.

My Kia Sedona has a lot of road noise. We have changed the tires and it hasn’t helped at all. I don’t know if it come from the doors and windows leaking or from the tires or maybe something else. The Kia service center is not open to helping with problems or getting things fixed.

I have only had my car for about 4 year and a couple months. I keep up with maintenance and everything. Recently, my car has been shaking, stalling and the wheel drifts to the right. It has got to the point where I do not even wanna drive this car. I brought my car to Kia and they quoted me $150 for something that needs to be replaced and told me that my tires are causing the wheel to act like it does. I still have a warranty for the car and they did not fix or replace anything. There are more problems to this car that I am not aware of. I was looking to keep this car for another two years, but looks like now I am going to have to trade it in. I a bit disappointed with Kia, I did not think I would run into so many problems so soon in the game.

I own a 2012 Kia Soul and as Ive read previously in a Sorento post, my engine also went out. I was on the interstate with my grandson going about 75 mph when I heard a loud knock, my dashboard lights all flickered like Christmas lights, and my car stalled. Luckily, I was able to pull over from the fast lane to the side of the road. Kia has had my car for 3 weeks. The dealership and I have called headquarters multiple times with no response from my case manager. No one has provided me with a rental car. I have to pay for a rental out of my own pocket. I dont see my make or model on the recall list but I obviously have the same engine issue as the other Kias. My car barely has 100,000 on it. It just flipped like the week or 2 before the engine went out.

I bought a used 2010 Kia Soul on August 16, 2012; with 60,000-mile warranty. I thought I would be covered for equipment-related vehicle breakdowns. Two days later, on August 18, 2012, which was a Saturday, the car would not start. It was in the afternoon outside a store in the rain. After calling the local Kia dealership, it was expeditiously towed to that dealership. I rented a car and went about my business, hoping that everything would be covered under the excellent warranty. It turned out to be the battery. It was replaced for this dealer, but as a maintenance issue, I had to pay for it. During this process, I was told that the Arizona heat is hard on batteries. This being the case, I believe that Kia policies be changed, and customer not be sent out with an unwarranted battery. To me, it reflects badly on Tempe Kia and Kia as a whole. Another issue is covered in another complaint.

Bought a 2015 Kia Soul. Great running car. Good fuel milage. Very responsive 2.0 motor. Seats are very comfortable. Lots of headroom. Found out there is a no spare tire. And I need to go to the dealer and get my oil changed. They want you to only use their oil filter. The car rides and handles great. Only problem with the car is the Road Noise. Took the Nexen tires off at 1500 miles and got a set of P7 Pirelli at Discount tire. It cut the noise in 1/2 but there is still a lot of noise. Got over 7000 miles in 6 months.

I bought my KIA Sorento 2012 as a new vehicle, and have had way many problems than normally expected for the past few years, including safety problems. Car stopping suddenly on the road is a horrible experience with the family on-board, but it has happened twice even after their fix (First in 2014, Second in 2016). Major problems (Safety issue): Car became disabled while running on a high speed limit busy road in 2014. Dealership found an alternator failure and they replaced it. Car became disabled again while running on a road at night last Friday (February 26, 2016). The exact same symptoms as before; LED indicators began malfunctioning, accelerator stopped working, and Car lost its power while running.Other problems (Non-Safety issue): Battery replace twice with bad cells found. (Car keeps causing the battery to die.) Passenger power car seat stopped operating twice. Navigation keeps resetting (deleting all the saved addresses and settings). LED light indicators malfunctioning or stuck. Car is inherently bad or has some root causes for the problems, and so needs a more fundamental solution rather than fixing locally. This car is potentially very dangerous as the same safety problems keep breaking out, but KIA (Dealership, Headquarter) simply follow the warranty manual with the repeated problems.I asked KIA to either replace the car or replace the electrical engine board, but they refused. All Im asking is being able to drive the car with enough confidence that it wont stop on the road (and expose my family to a dangerous situation). Again, car being stopped twice suddenly on the road is a horrible experience, and KIA should deal with the issue more than just warranty, as there may be the same problems with their other cars.

I spent days at the dealer working with a salesman. I called later on the last night and said I would I would take the car and be in morning to make the purchase. I went and got my bank loan approved and in order to be prepared. He called me and said to come later in afternoon because they were sending him to pick up a car; however, my car was getting serviced and detailed and would be ready for me when he gets back, so there was no need to come down now since he was being sent out of shop for a few hours. I said I can come in right now to take care of my end of paperwork since you just opened. He said later about 3 or 4 would work better, “Don’t worry I have your car being prepped for you and it will be definitely be ready for you and you can take it home right away.” I called a few times while he was taking care of his business and left messages at shop throughout the day. Then I get a phone call at 8:30 pm after I did all my end of paperwork and loan papers and get the loan for this same day purchase that says another salesman sold the car from under him while he was out doing business for the shop. Now the car isn’t there and I was never notified till 8:30 in the evening hours later from the morning I was supposed to get the car. Now the car is not there and I have my loan done—no car and no remorse, or compensation for their wrongdoings. My time and money I put into this by driving back and forth, doing the loans and insurance, research, credit checks and so much more to list right now. They should make good on another car in a big way and fast since I took off of work and holiday to make this transaction. That is not at all good customer satisfaction at all! What will they do to compensate me? And get me in the car, I want today! I have no car as of tomorrow and I am very unhappy with the Kia service and customer satisfaction attempt at this point. Who knows, maybe they will change their ways and surprise me with a make good offer.

They then fail on their promise every time. Why did my valve stem for my 2010 Kia Soul break? This will cost me $200.00
Why did my valve stem for my 2010 Kia Soul break? This will cost me $200.00 to replace. I love driving my little Kia. I was told Montgomery Kia/Chevrolet Preston Hwy Louisville KY personnel that, it is not covered under bumper to bumper warranty. They said that it is manufacturing defect and it was not broken by them. The stem is not covered by the warranty. A reason why it broke is that a long stem air hose chuck was used to replace the air. Individuals wiggling the long extension air chuck can bend and break off the computerized air valve. I believe in keeping good air pressure in my tires saves gas and tire wear. I believe that whether I had used or service attendant had used a shorted air stem chuck on this valve stem to this tire. It still would have broken off. And when the air hose extension chuck used on this tire, air hose was removed for air stem of this tire, the stem came with the extension chuck. This tire on the driver side front has several times registered air pressure was low on my dash lights the last six months. The tires on vehicles sometime lose air pressure. The weather changes from normal temperatures to lower cold temperatures.I was told by one of Montgomery Kia technicians that this is manufacturing defect of the company that makes this computerized valve air stem. While I was making an appointment with the dealership to replace the defective stem, the air stem on this tire had lost air pressure while my Kia Soul was in motion on the highway. This would be considered a blow out. As my Kia Soul was sitting still, the tire went flat immediately.I have very good records of service done on my Kia, which all recommends service checks have been done at Montgomery Kia. The manufacture defective valve stem broke and deflated at car service station. I had them replace the air stem with regular valve stem, which since 2008 most vehicles have this feature letting you know when tire pressure is low. This is a very good feature on my Kia. By the way, if anyone has a Hyundai 2008-2012, you have the same computerized valve stems in your tires like mine. Valve stem on a tire before 2008, you basically had to rip up the metal rim of a tire or unscrew the core of valve stem out for a tire to go flat, not because the valve stems were manufactured with defect parts. The computerized valve stem to me has alloyed (metal) fatigued. I believe in safe lighter vehicles, but you need dependable tires, rims and valve stems on the vehicles. If your engine blow-up, you will come to a rolling stop. If your computerized valve stems break on one your tires, you may be in an accident. If this manufacturing defect from a company that produced this computerized valve stem to me, should this be a recall from Kia. How many vehicles that are on the road that this company manufacturing defective computerized valve stems? How many Fords, Chevrolets, Hondas, Toyotas and Kia on the road today?

We have called and dealt with the car dealer about the front end thumping sound. We had to replace the tires at 22,000 miles and we had the car in the car dealer 10 times. With only 22,000 miles on the car, we spent $672.15 for new tires and the dealer would not help, Atlantic Kia (out of bus., selling Kias now) in Pleasantville, NJ 08232. Now with 70,000, it needs tires again and the thumping area is the worst of the 3 tires. Now we will spend $550 for new tires. With that we always get rotation, balancing and front end alignments. We have all receipts but Kia will not call or email back and will not help at all.

Rating: Poor. When I decided to purchase a 2012 Kia Sorento, I spoke with the dealership several times in order to make it a quick and easy transaction. I spent six hours sitting in the waiting room of the dealership. This should have been my first clue! When I arrived home and reviewed the paperwork, I discovered that instead of taking off the amount of my trade in and downpayment, they added it. I was overcharged $10,000. After contacting the Kia finance department and not getting any answers, just excuses, we contacted the attorney general and our attorney. I feel that I was discriminated against and taken advantage of because I am a woman. I have had nothing but trouble with the vehicle since I got it. The headlights wouldnt shut off and after spending 5 hours at the service center, was told that a part would be there in 2-3 days. They offered to give us a ride home or let us drive the vehicle and continue unhooking the battery each time we parked the vehicle. My husband had to get pretty nasty with them in order for them to give us a loaner car. They stated that they didnt have any, but offered to rent one from a rental company. At that time, I also explained that the headrest had fallen off. They didnt even get that fixed! When I returned to pick up my car, they had to program the keyless remotes, and now they dont work. I would never recommend a Kia to anyone, nor will I ever purchase another one.

I have had the most horrendous experience with Kia of St Cloud in MN. Have taken in my car for regular maintenance. After about a year, started having a problem with my back seat latch not letting loose. Was told that they couldnt fix it because they didnt have their main mechanic there. Told me to let me know if any more problems. Kept having the issue, so was told they would fix it when I brought it in for my oil change. Got at my appt 20 min early and there service advisors didnt help us for over 20 min. Had a few more minor issues to look at too. Was told wait time would be 2 hrs. Sat for over 3 1/2 hrs and my vehicle wasnt fixed because they now had to order parts. Tried to tell me on part was covered under warranty. Had less than 13,00 miles and had purchased extended warranty. Caused a scene in the waiting room where other customers were, so he said they would cover it. Called corporate to file a complaint and they were worthless. Gave contacted them 3 x and no results. They contacted dealership because I wanted my survey. Was told by corporate that they didnt have my email address, but yet it was on my service invoice. Service manager said that he doesnt have anything to do with, but yet corporate says they do. Nothing like covering each others **. WILL NOT EVER BUY ANOTHER KIA. THINKING OF TELL THEM THEY CAN KEEP THEIR PIECE OF ** CAR AND THEIR SERVICE AND TAKE THE LOSS.

I bought a 2019 Kia Sorento with only 35,000 miles on it. The car broke down after less than 2 months of use. It has been towed to the dealer and been sitting in their lot for over two months now. The week my car died, I also lost a family member and was unable to get to the hospital before he passed. The mechanic said they dont know what the problem is with it and they wont approve a rental until he can find the exact problem and they also will not approve a reimbursement for the rental. I have called them several times about the fact that I am making a car payment for a new car and additional fees for rental with no end in sight. I bought a new car specifically so I would not have these types of problems. This situation is completely unacceptable and I will never ever buy another Kia as long as I live. I honestly dont think the company even cares which is all the more frustrating.

I inherited my parents 2003 Kia Spectra. I was driving it on the freeway when all of a sudden the right rear tire froze up causing me to have to pull over to the small shoulder in the inside lane. I immediately put on my hazards as I was still halfway in the lane. I turned the car off then back on again. I was then able to continue on to my destination. When I got into the car again to go home, it seemed to run fine. Then when almost home it did it again. I was luckily close to a Les Schwab who said it was my brake lining, which had broken in half. They said that it has been happening to 2003 to 2005 Kias, they had three just last week. I have heard of no recall for this problem, but something needs to be done about this before someone is killed. I have to have them repaired, which cost me $270.

Kia 2013 Optima Hybrid: 7/17/2015 - Drivers side rear passenger tire blowout on 405 freeway, exit 18. 7am, Costco Fountain Valley, had air pressure check. Got on the freeway and had a blowout. I rotate tires and have tires inspected every 6 months. I have about 28k mileage, the tire was rated 9 on inspection. I was very upset because I nearly got killed if not for the kindness of this lady who blocked traffic and escorted me to the shoulder. The previous week, I had my car inspected and I had a slow leak on the side. The Kia dealer suggested I replace the tire. First blow out, I manage to get car to Pep Boys and got a replacement tire. To my horror, I found out I did not have a spare tire. The blow up patch was useless. I asked Pep Boy what was the cause. They said NO nails or apparent cause. I replace tires with same type. I thought it was ODD that a new tire on a new car would blow up (I purchased my Kia Feb 2014). In less than a year, I had to replace a tire. When 2nd tire blow out happened, I decided to replace all four tires with Bridgestone. I dont know about you but replacing 3/4 tires on a relatively new car is unheard of in all my years of driving. I have had tires lasting me 70-75 miles. The shredded tires fell apart around the whole seam of the car in inner circle just above the rims.

Why am I liable for something that has not been my fault? I am giving this
Why am I liable for something that has not been my fault? I am giving this a day to be resolved then I will go to my lawyers which is scorpion and I will not give up. I refuse to pay a service. When I pay for the service if I wanted to pay I was not going to take the service plan. I know I have to pay for the brakes. I will not pay the service so let me explain myself for the 100th time. I took my car for the service as agreed with Kia east rand branch. On the 3rd I had a accident with my car. As per attached you can clearly see I picked it up on the 23rd of Dec knowing I never skip my service as you can see and Im never late either. I tried phoning Kia Kempton as thats where I always take my car. Disappointingly no one responds. I then phone your kia kempton sales to find out why is no one getting back to find out oh they closed. Fair enough.I go on your useless website where it clearly states book a service, leave your details, someone will get back to you. And to my surprise guess what? No one did. So sad. This I did in Dec knowing my car needs to go. I desperately try and get hold of someone. No one phones me back. I phone your branch east rand either the 28 or 29 Dec. I get the following words: Sorry we are full but we can help you the 3rd. Knowingly this is not going to work as its due now they assure me its no problem at all. So I believed your people again. Im doing it as per how Im suppose to keep in mind as attached my car went in. So I could not do it as I usually do early and if you bothered phoning your customers back this wont happen. So I get a nice phone call today. I need to pay for a service. Now look the lady there well done but for the rest useless. So Im giving this one day to be resolved so I can take my car at the cost of you all not me as I pay for the service plan and I was not at fault as you can see. So one day and then Im taking this further. I will not leave this. I will pay for my brakes. Not the service. My number to get hold of me; **. I expect a call in the next hour. As to how this will be resolved this car is not second hand its not ten years old and its sure as ** has never missed a service and kia kempton didnt say nothing at all. So blame your staff not me. I pay you still and whats sad its 200000 not a 5000 second hand car. This is disgusting to think I wanted to buy another kia when this is the treatment you get when you not at fault between kia and liquid capital? My car will be serviced at your cost. Decide how so I can take it as Im running the km up by having it again your fault. One hour and Im sending it to my lawyer.

Our 2012 Sorento was serviced by the KIA service department where we bought the car. We were driving in town at 35 mph when the engine just stopped. The engine had no warning lights and no noises. We luckily were near a parking lot and were able to coast in. Called the KIA service to receive the car and diagnose the problem. They tell us the main engine bearing failed and we will need a new engine. If this is a problem KNOWN to KIA, they should replace the engine for us. At no cost. We had a Subaru Forester for 260,000 miles with absolutely no engine problems! I think this needs more investigation.

I like the Kia Sorento because it is very good on gas and is easy to drive. It has a lot of space in to sit four people comfortably. It is a great car to go on vacation in too. I would make it have a large backup camera installed in it. And also the gas tank door would work all the time. Also a have handle on the front near the windshield for older people to be able to use it to get in and out with. The car has a noise in the motor but the dealership says they cannot find anything wrong. My mechanic says there is something wrong with the timing chain. All in all it is a good riding car.

I have a 2015 Kia K 900. It was 8 months since I purchased from Kia Escondido, I had about 5k miles on it when I was hit on the driver side at the rear quarter panel/back passenger door. I was pushed into a center divide and my entire front Qtr Panel and front end was demolished. NOT 1 AIRBAG DEPLOYED!! I called Kia and their engineers went out to study/test/read the circuit board to get all logistics at time of impact. They went to investigate the car more than once (car was at the auto body shop) and Kia would not release the car to been inspected by my Mercury Insurance to assess damage. The car sat at Tag Collision center for 51 days before they let Mercury assess the damage. The car was totaled out by Mercury and the engineers from Kia said that the airbags did not deploy because there were not enough factors involved for them to deploy. I personally was more concerned that considering where and how I was hit that if I had passengers in the back seat that there would have been skulls hitting the door window (place of impact). I figured that Kia would want to know in case they needed to do a recall on the K 900s to protect lives in future accidents. Kia did not allow me to see the report or tell me exactly what factors were involved to as why the airbags did not deploy. But the whole thing raised a red flag when they kept telling Mercury that the car was not ready to be inspected??? Im just a puzzled and concerned consumer who received no answers but instead a big storage bill from Tag Collision, no thanks to Kias control of when Mercury Insurance could do their job in a timely manner. Kia offered to sell me another K 900 but I just cant considering I would not feel safe or maybe be as lucky to escape injury if I were to get into another accident where if the airbags did not deploy and was extremely hurt instead of protected. This is for Kia to take notice and for there to be a record that Kia not only knew of this airbag situation but that there was an investigation done and a report on file (just in case there are future issues with consumers regarding this topic).

After the issue was fixed, we attempted to drive it back home only to have the same issue happen a mile down the road. Now Kia is refusing to provide us with a rental car during the time that the vehicle is being transported back to us, which could take up to 10 days. Nov. to next Jan. is a good time for car buying, since automakers will put more incentive/rebates on new cars. But not every brand is honest with customers. In particular, as a recent buyer with PAINFUL experience, I recommend: stay away from KIA, if you look for non-cheating rebates. This is based on my painful car buying experience from KIA (it is not dealers issue, but just KIAs issue). To summarize the experience, I felt I was unfairly treated, discriminated or even insulted by KIA, who in the end took away rebate written in the car contract that I signed 3 weeks ago. Basically, the car I have already put >500 miles, But then KIA told me that I am suddenly not qualified for their rebate and I should come back to pay more). My detailed story was below. (I will post this to major auto websites to help buyers avoid painful experience of mine. Any question, please email me at **).I signed the contract and obtained a new KIA Niro 2017 on 11/24/2017 (Black Friday), attracted by low price with KIA rebate. I am a recent grad, with diploma dated on 09/2016, during that time I was with my F1 student visa (this matters). After graduation, I obtained EAD (employment authorization card granted by US government) and worked in the same university I studied. Basically, I have a work permit to be employed and my contract is annually signed due to nature of research task. ( this matters for KIA). My credit score ~790, with annual salary > 70K. With those info. I was qualified for KIA rebate (1000 dollar) and final price of the car is around 24K, checked by KIA and KIA dealer before we signed contract. I put 10K as down payment, leaving 14K as 4-years auto loan with KIA per rebates policy.I thought everything should work as the signed contract. However, from Dec. 4 the dealer contacted me for my visa and EAD, per KIAs requirement. I feel strange but I try to work with them so I send out my F1 visa and current EAD (C09 category) that my employer has on file. I even emailed my position/annual pay from HR, and leave contact of my employer HR so that they can verify files. Now KIA finance begins to send ridiculous statements like: Contract Returned (Unable to accept Employment Auth Card, Must have Visa) 1. Visa submitted expired 10.03.2014 - Not valid... acceptable visas H-1B, H-1B1, L-1, TN, O1, E1, E2, E3 2. We will need employer letter stating they will request reinstatement due to applicants Visa expired 10/3/2014.There are two hidden rules or tricks from KIA that they can not give me rebate: KIA does not accept my Employment Auth Card (EAD). They keep looking at my expired F1-visa but ignore my current EAD. They want me to have a visa in THEIR list, which is only a small portion of valid EAD from the US governments. (https://save.uscis.gov/web/media/resourcesContents/EAD_Code_Table.pdf). I wonder, if US government grants me EAD for work and I indeed got employed with a good salary (70K annually for 14K loan in 4 years), then Kias policy is a discrimination. Moreover, Kia is also ignorant, as visa does not mean you could work legally (like F-1 ), instead EAD is standard work permit. I and my employer felt very sad when KIA keep asking us valid visa and ignore my EAD.KIA could not finance with me under 4 years, as my current employer only sign a one-year contact. I need to have a employment with a 4-year contract from CURRENT employer AND 4-year valid visa (they do not say EAD). This is truly ridiculous. If 4-year finance requires: 4-year employment contract with the same current company, who can be qualified, given the uncertainty of many jobs? Dealer and I tried to satisfy this unfair KIAs requirement. After talking with KIA (from dealer), one way for me is to bug my HR +boss to write a letter stating that: they have a good intention to hire me for 4 years.I did that and my HR finally agreed to work on this. However, I was later told that even with the letter I still can not have the rebate, because my EAD (KIA always asked visa) was unaccepted, and I need to reinstate a 4-year valid visa in KIAs list by me or my employer. I felt truly insulted as KIA implied that they did not consider my employment as normal or even legal. My HR felt very unhappy, and asked me to leave KIA, why not choose other brand, like HONDA?. Unfortunately, I did not have choice since I drove the car for 3 weeks, returning the car will be very unfair/impossible to dealer. In the meantime, I tried to get KIA finance contact and talked to them directly. From the dealer, I got number and called KIA finance: 1866-337-5632. After reporting my case number: **, I was told that KIA finance would not talk with me directly, and they asked me to contact dealer. They just ignore my request. In the end, I and dealer have to take care about the extra money due to the loss of KIA rebate. I, dealer, even my employer, all harmed and felt this is unfair from KIA. I feel I am discriminated or insulted from the whole process. KIAs hidden rules on the rebate was a cheating and dishonest trick on customer or even KIA dealership. If one seeks honest rebate/incentive, stay away from KIA, and look at other brands (there are so many). If you insist on KIA, think about their two after-contract hidden rules/traps (that is after your employment/salary + credit score satisfies and contracted was signed) that I encountered: 4-year finance? OK, then do you have proof of 4-years of employment from your current job? Working on visa/EAD? OK, do you have current 4-year valid visa (not EAD) that must be in KIAs list? Other conditions (waiting to see other customers posting...)? Feel free to forward my experience to other potential autobuyers so that they do not have to experience I experienced.

Firstly, let me start off by saying this is in regards to the Kendall Kia located in Miami, FL. I was initially greeted by Anika, salesperson, who is a great girl with lots of sales potential. Eventually, I left the dealership in my new 2012 Kia Soul. One (1) month later, I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner, Mr. Rod Rifai, after being unsuccessful at receiving a call back from any available sales representative. That conversation was trying, to say the least. My question for Mr. Rifai was when could I expect to receive my tag, as my temporary tag was expiring the following day. Somehow, that simple question turned into a screaming match between the two of us. He attempted to insult my intelligence throughout the entire conversation. I had to raise my voice just to be heard over his tirade and this was from the owner of the dealership. At the end of the conversation, I was promised that following Monday that Mr. Rifai would personally investigate the delay with my tag and get back to me. To date, I have yet to receive my tag or a follow-up call from Mr. Rifai and I am now on my second temporary tag. For obvious reasons, I will never recommend this dealership to anyone after my experience with the owner. He should not be in the business of customer service and, in my personal opinion, a hospitality class would do him wonders.

Cannot put anything in trunk as lid will open when it gets a mind too. l likewise have come out to enter vehicle and it is totally unlocked. This has happened 10-12 time in a year and half and dealerships say they cannot duplicate so I have a vehicle that is basically unsafe and worthless. Car is in now 3rd time after much argument with corp headquarters. They are arrogant, self-serving and totally without merit. Upon researching the web this evening, I find this is far from a one only problem they lied about that also. This company should be banned from selling faulty products and failure to honor their fabulously flawed warranty program. At 72 yrs of age I have never been so disgusted with a company such as this!! STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!

I have called several times, but I can not wait longer than 30 minutes while at work. I tried the web, but I cant register as the error says my birthday is wrong. As stupid as this may sound, I tried several times to get on auto pay since I had moved several items that when I stopped getting invoices, I assumed I had finally been successful. And as I had a new bank account that I was using for bills, I assumed the payment was coming out of that. I didnt realize I was in arrears until a collector called and threatened me. I paid the arrears and still cant get them on the phone or the web to get auto pay set up. I havent gotten a bill this month. It is a very pathetic customer service. I am just trying to give them money.

I bought a brand new Kia Carens in September 2009. From the start I had intermittent problems starting the car. At each service I asked the workshop to check the problem, and was consistently told that there was no problem. 2 weeks ago the car would not start at all. I bought a new battery, which helped for 1 day. The car was then with an auto electrician for 3 days and he could not find a fault. Eventually a key code showed, and with the spare key the car started. That only worked for 2 days. I then took it to Kia and they diagnosed that the electronic communicator from the key to the motor is faulty. How come they diagnose it now, but could not diagnose it for the past 3 years?? They wait until the warranty expires!! The quote to replace it is ZAR22,000.00!!! That is ludicrous. Is this a problem that anyone else has experienced with Kia?

For all of you people thinking of buying a Kia, read this. Bought a brand new 2012 Kia Sorento, not a demo, right out of the show room. At 800 km, head gasket had to be re-placed. At 1500 km, oil pan seal had to be replaced. At 2000 km, engine block had to be replaced. After arguing days with Kia Longueil and Kia Canada, we got them to replace the entire motor instead of re-building my engine. Then we went to pick up the truck and the electrical blew. Kia Canada does not stand behind their product at all! We requested to have the vehicle changed for a new one from the minute we started having these problems, and was told no but we will get free oil change. My truck that I paid over $40,000 for a new vehicle experience has been ruined by Kia Canada. I am now stuck with a hunk of junk. For my loss of time out of the office, anxiety and fear my truck will break down, Kia Canada offered me a free oil change. If I ever sell or trade in my truck which I will, what do I say when I am asked if any major repairs have been done to the vehicle? To my surprise Kia doesn’t stand behind their product. Too bad we do not have a lemon law in Canada. I would never buy a Kia again! If you research Kia Sorento, I am not the only person to have major problems with the vehicle or Kia Canada.Don’t buy a Kia!

My car was booked in for a noise in the engine on 3rd Nov 2015. Heard nothing for 2 days even after leaving numerous messages as the lady dealing with it was either away from her desk, on a call or busy with other clients. Eventually got a call late Wednesday afternoon advising that they needed to strip the crankshaft which would cost R2300.00. I advised that I would check with my husband and call them back. When attempting to call them back late Wed afternoon no one answered the phone. I then received a call Thursday pm to confirm that could go ahead with the job. I confirmed it was okay. I heard nothing on Friday and when phoning Friday pm, none of my calls were returned. By now I was extremely peed off. I eventually got my husband to go to Kia Tokai to check on the progress of my vehicle. When he arrived the ladys attitude was, Why have you come to see your vehicle? He was then shown the problem with the vehicle and the mechanic explained what needed to be done, we were offered 2 options costing R3700 or R20 000. We agreed to the R3700. Were then told the parts could only be ordered from JHB on the Monday 9th. We then received no update on our car at all. I then tried to speak to the manager of Kia Tokai who was in a meeting when I called at 9 am on Thursday. 12th Nov. I called throughout the morning and left 3 messages in total. He never returned any of my calls. Eventually the service manager called me to enquire what my complaint was. I explained the whole story to him and he was going to check on my car and call me back. Surprise, surprise he did not call back. I eventually called him again at 3:30 pm. This is what I was then told: yes the part had arrived but did I not know that it can take 3-4 days for a part to arrive? How would I know this? They now need to check if the part is compatible with my vehicle, come on, get real. Do you not know what part to order? I must be patient and wait because while my car has been at their workshop they have booked other cars in as well which will be worked on first, dont I realise that the job on my car is a big one. How would I know this, I am not a mechanic. Am I not a client? Are some clients given special treatment? Yes my car is not under warranty anymore (was bought from this branch in April 2012) but I am a paying customer. By this time I was fed up and asked to speak to the manager again. I was put through to reception, who advised me to pls hold as he was on a call. I was placed on hold 3 times. The service manager then came onto the phone saying the manager was in a meeting and if my car could not be fixed by close of business Friday 13th then they would organise a car for me to use. What rubbish! I feel that I was put on hold so that the service manager could speak to the manager first. Was he really on a call or in a meeting because reception says his on a call and the service manager says he is in a meeting. What kind of manager does not take responsibility for his workshop and staff?Yes I understand that parts come from JHB, yes I understand that some jobs take time, but is it not possible for a person to keep a client updated as to what is happening to their car especially if it takes 11 days without a result. It is now 2:30 pm on Friday 13th November and to date no car, no call! Would never take my car back there again (if & when I get it back). Would never recommend Kia Tokai to anyone as I would not want them to have to endure such incompetence.

Since we bought the 2003 Kia Rio, we experienced electrical shorts in the HVAC controls, especially in the motor fan control – it burned out. I was told the electrical harness was not on recall and not covered after 12,000 miles.Since they wanted more than $600 for the switch, I fixed it myself. The motor switch has burned up three times. This last time, the harness melted at the switch. It should have a motor resistor but this model does not have one or offer one according to the dealer. Many other Kia owners claim they have had the same problem. Many, fearing for their lives (the car catching on fire) and getting the runaround from Kia, have gotten rid of the car and have sworn never to buy another KIA. I firmly believe a recall on this model is in order, it could save lives. A class action law suit is way overdue.

My husband and I bought a 2009 Kia Sorento in December 09, three days before he was deployed to Iraq. We were told that we had a bumper to bumper warranty, and that everything would be covered. Within a month, I took the car back to the dealership to be told that nothing was wrong. On 3 other occasions, I was told the same thing. In July 2011, with under 50,000 miles, my car started to sound like an airplane taking off. I took the car back to Kia. And they told me I needed a rear differential. It would cost about 1400.00 to replace. They explained to me that the rear axle and back wheels could lock up. I asked about the warranty. And they said I needed to show them my oil change receipts. What does an oil change have to do with a rear differential? I spoke with the district manager who is very unprofessional and rude! She said that Kia will not honor the warranty and fix my car! Even the service manager was shocked! Kia prides themselves on their warranty, and now I see why. Because they dont honor it! Now we are stuck paying 19,000 for an SUV that is broke.

I purchased a 2013 Kia Sorento 22 months ago. Driving a few days ago, the vehicle started making a very old noise, then a huge bang. Stop and the car hasnt moved since. No check engine light... no low oil like... no indication that anything was going wrong. I kept all maintenance and upkeep records. I had a log on the oil changes since my dad did them regularly. The engine locked up, Kia wants 6,500 dollars to replace. I purchased the extended warranty, the warranty company will not honor since the oil changes were not performed at a shop. Im on a very difficult place being I still owe on car and dont have 6500 dollars laying around to buy another motor... this is a known problem and they are doing nothing to fix it!! I have the warranty and they refuse to cover since my dad did the oil changes. They told me they dont have proof my dad actually physically put the oil in my car so they refuse to approve the repairs!!! This warranty coverage was not cheap either. I dont know what to do, Im a single mom, no reliable transportation to work now. Dont buy a Kia!!!

I purchased a Kia Sorento back in 03 and have always taken my car for major services to the same dealer since. Recently, my car has had a vibration on acceleration and runs sluggish. There is a rattle on acceleration as well. To make my story short, I took it to the dealer and they checked it out and told me it needed spark plugs and wires replaced to a sum of $469.00. I got it done. A week later, I was having the same problem. I made another appointment. They checked it again and said it needed coils to the sum of $444.00. I asked if this will take care of the problem. They said yes. Today, 4/9/12, my car was towed to the dealer: same problem, only worse! The dealer said they will check again, but they will not cover the fix if it is something else. I told them that’s what they told me that was wrong; therefore, I am not paying one more cent!

They gave me power of attorney to someone elses car!!! Im financing two vehicles. I got married & changed my last name. Dmv wont do a name change because I dont have the vehicle titles. Which is obvious. AAA & DMV both said financing company needs to do it. Kia refuses to do so. They sent me limited power of attorney for both cars for me to take to DMV to do by myself. Aside that DMV cant accept it. It actually turns out they sent me a power of attorney for someone elses car? Wth!!On top of that they tell me I need to wait another 10-14 business days to wait for it to be corrected. Plus I need to call back Monday, because its Friday evening & the department who issues this forms is closed. I have to call a 5th time to request a new & corrected power of attorney with my correct vehicle information. Plus send a written request for them to send the title to DMV. Which takes 10-14 days for the request. Horrible service & customer service. Worst finance company ever! Who sends out a power attorney to a strangers car. Scary that such information would be released like nothing and take no responsibility for such mistake. Violation of privacy and confidential information.

To understand this KIA dealership in Burton UK, I need to back up a bit. I saw a car on the internet and arranged to view it. On the agreed day I checked to make sure that he car was still available and they said yes. I set off by train from Coventry UK. I had to change at Birmingham UK to catch a train to Burton. At Birmingham I got a call to say that the car has been sold. This sets the background to my subsequent dealings with KIA in Burton. They apologized and promised to let me have first look at another car. (With hindsight, I should have declined.)I did look at another car, the salesman told me that the car had had only one previous owner who gave up the car because he had epilepsy. We negotiated and agreed on a price based on what I had seen of the car and what I was told. He told me that (1) the car will be checked over and serviced (2) I will have two year free service in 2015 and 2016. When I received my V5C form from DVLA, it had two previous owners. I sent a text on 17/11/14 to the salesman and he did not reply to my query that he told me the car had only one previous owner from October 63. He did not reply. One morning as I was driving along the road I found that my windscreen washer had frozen. The temperature was barely -1 deg Celsius. When it thawed, I noticed that instead of the normal windscreen solution, it was pure water. Alarm bells started ringing. I checked the Service book and it was not stamped. I then wondered why the boot light has never come on.I wrote with a list of complaints to the CEO of KIA including that the car had not been serviced. My complaint was passed on to the customer services department saying that the garage was only obliged to top up the windscreen washer (with water by implication) and not to introduce a solution that lowered the freezing temperature of the windscreen washer. I found that astonishing. On the question of previous owners, because I had no documentary or audio evidence to support what I claimed was the gist of the conversation, that was dismissed. Apparently the bulb in the boot and had burnt out from use... by whom I wondered? They asked me to return the service book so that they will stamp it. I refused. I asked whether the two year verbal agreement on servicing the car still holds. No reply. I am intending to send it for servicing and bill the garage and if they refuse to pay, Ill try the small claims court. I paid for the car based on the information given to me which they deny. What should I do? Can I ask for my money back or reach some form of compromise? I also tend to write to KIA in Korea to complain. I suggested to the customer services that the point that the service book was not stamped is evidence that it was not serviced. There was no counter argument. The scan of the service document carried out had no page number so it could have been written any time. What can/shall I do? Anyone have the address of KIA in Korea?

My Kia Sorento was almost 5yrs. I did lots of highway run so it had miles beyond 100,000 thousand, but this vehicle was maintained as recommended and only by the dealer from which it was purchased. Driving along and without any warning it just blew up. Towed it to the dealer and of course they don’t know what could have caused it. I Googled and found out that others have problems with these vehicles. I contacted Kia Motors and a lady by the name of Heather told me theres an investigation into these vehicles and my vehicle was one of them. She said not to worry I’ll be given a loaner and my vehicle will be fixed and someone will get back to me.To date no one from Kia Motors has gotten back to me. A message was left on my phone by Kevin, and I returned his call 4 times leaving messages twice to no avail. It was someone from my dealership called to say my vehicle was not included so Kia was not responsible. In trying to see if my insurance would cover this I paid said dealer to strip the engine and they said the third cylinder blew through the engine block. (approx. a $7,000 fix) The insurance personnel took a look and said it’s a mechanical problem they will not cover.GUESS WHO IS LEFT HOLDING THE BAG? Me the consumer! I will give a 2 star because I seem to have gotten way better service from the vehicle than most of the others that I have read, but I still think Kia is lacking towards their customers. It cannot be right for big companies to be getting away with doing things like this to poor consumers.

I purchased a 2012 Kia Sorento back in November of 2017. After seeing the vehicle had been well maintained on the Carfax and it had low mileage of around 75,000 I felt confident the vehicle would be a reliable long term purchase for me and my family. Now just months later in May 2018 the vehicle spontaneously shut down while driving last week. Fortunately for me I on road with parking lot I could safely roll into and stop. This may not be the case if this happens to another vehicle who may be on a high traffic interstate, high speed roadways, etc. After having it towed to the local Kia dealership I am being told it needs an entire new engine. After a little research, I noticed a Kia Sorento engine failure recall for 2012-2014 due to poor engine manufacturing assembly from leaving debris in engine. After contacting Kia consumer affairs I was told my VIN was not included in this recall. However, they settled on covering half of the $4,000+ repair. If they know they are at fault, why not pay repair in entirety? They claim it is not covered under a warranty and I am ‘fortunate’ they covered as much as they did. I just wanted to educate anyone looking to purchase a new or used vehicle. Steer clear of Kia or Hyundai products unless you can justify buying a new engine before 90,000 miles. I am now going on my THIRD week of having to pay for a rental vehicle because Sorento is still is not repaired. Between the weekly vehicle rental fees, time and hassle, towing fees and the unpronounced $2,000+ for an engine repair I am beyond frustrated at the lack of customer safety concern and service. Please share this to friends and family. Even if this helps just one person not have to go through this situation in the future it was worth my time writing and sharing it.

It started on Wednesday Sept 3, 2014, my Kia was lacking its get up and go. I called the dealership and told them that my car was running rough and had a hard time starting but no warning lights. They were able to see me the following Monday. According to the diagnostic test nothing was wrong but that the oil was in rough shape. I told them keep looking. After further review they determined that the fuel pump was bad. They replaced it and I picked it up on Wednesday. I only drove about 2 miles and could tell that the car was still not running right. I called the shop when I got home but they were already closed for the day so I called right away Thursday morning. They got me in right away and called me about 4 hours later letting me know that the Turbo was burnt out and that I needed to show proof of oil changes since I purchased the car (2 1/2 years ago!). I am still fighting this, I cant find all my receipts. I may find myself stuck with a car that only has 38K miles and a payment but not a car that can be driven. What kind of company is Kia? Neither the engine or oil light NEVER came on ---EVER! Yet if I dont find evidence of enough satisfactory oil changes (they say 8) then the warranty is void!! This is crazy --- does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks.

KIA is by far the worst company to deal with. The vehicles are horrible, and their warranty is a scam. I have had issues with my KIA Stinger since day one, and it has been nothing but fight after fight to get warranty work done. I have had 3 dealerships and multiple reps at their so called Premium Care division. The reps at corporate are all rude, and act as if they are doing you a favor. They do not care that the car has issues, and blame the dealers. I have had to get the Attorney Generals office involved with a consumer fraud case as well. Do yourself a favor and stay away from KIA. Their vehicles look good on paper, but they are cheaply made and will have many issues.I purchased 2 new 2018 vehicles, both the top of the line KIA has to offer, and they are nothing but trouble. One issues after another. We have a Honda CRV that is 4 years old and has never had to make a visit to the dealer for an issue. Better to have a shorter warranty on a reliable car, than to have to have the car at the dealer every week. As of this writing, my car has been at the dealer for service for 70 days and counting. They still have no idea how to fix the issue. And all this time I am expected to continue to make payments while not having a car for over 2 months. Please do yourself a favor and do not buy KIA. Just do a little research and you will see all the issues these vehicles have. I wish I had done better research before purchasing.

Less than impressed with this company and severely aggravated and disgusted. The Kia experience in general has really gone downhill in the past 10 years, but after my last purchase, it will be my last and I wish I could go back in time. From sales to service to Kias consumer affairs, everyone dropped the ball and rate a huge FAIL.Kia Consumer Affairs used to be a last line of sanity and a place to go where you could get help; now theyre just people who act like they are doing something, but ultimately just ignore you and never follow up or follow through. As others have said, watch the numbers closely in Finance because they will try to add things without asking. My last experience turned me so sour Ill probably get rid of this brand new 2021 car that is riddled with computer bugs and subpar paint before its even six months old. The car will start falling apart after the first year anyway. Terrible company with a terrible internal culture in how they deal with customers and they are turning out cheap vehicles.

One of our customers at our shop has a 100k mile warranty on her vehicle and her Valve Body went bad at 94000 miles. It is a part that should be covered under warranty. She has kept up on all of the maintenance on her vehicle per the warranty booklet and has records to prove it. Peak Kia was awful to deal with. They suggested replacing the Transmission and that it wasnt going to be covered under warranty. The grand total was 4000 dollars. The assistant service manager was a complete jerk. He stated that if she didnt have 3 Transmission services at 30k, 60k, and 90k then her warranty was void. I read the warranty book a few times to make sure I wasnt missing anything. She was supposed to at 90k for normal driving conditions. The book stated at 30k and 60k the Transmission should be serviced if the car is driven in severe conditions. Her car is not. We have been trying to get this covered since June. I have spoke to the corporate office in July and still havent received any word from them. Completely unacceptable! She has called multiple dealers as well as corporate and has only heard back today just to tell her they are still working on it. Come on, seven months. Here is what I have gathered from the situation. Kia could care less about their customers. Kia would rather lose a customer than please a customer.

I bought my Sorento new, it is a 2009. Running loud. It has 77K miles and the diff. rear end is bad. I cannot believe there is not a recall as many complaints as I have seen posted on the net. There needs to be a class action lawsuit! It can lock up while you are driving or explode!!! How many people have already wrecked because they just thought it was just sounding a little loud. I really thought it was just my tires or something. This is going to eventually be a giant recall like Toyota had, but as we all know it takes a few people dying first. I will keep all you Kia owners in my prayers. As for me....I am going to trade mine in for a Honda while it at least looks like it will run!

I purchase a 2012 Kia Soul from Regal Kia and in 2016 the engine busted. There was no indications that there was a problem with the engine because the engine light never turned on. Also, a month after I had the car, the starter went dead, had to pay $400 for a new starter. I want everybody to know that the Kia Soul is not a very good car, do not buy them. When I got in touch with the Kia Headquarters, they did not want to take responsibility for their defective car. Warning: Do not buy the Kia Soul or any Kia cars. They are poorly made cars that dealership make money on. No I would not recommend a dog much more a friend.

I bought a new 2015 Kia soul in January and now in April with less than 5k, the AC went out. I took it into the dealership only to be told a rock hit the condenser. The service guy tells me that it is not covered on the warranty and that it will be around 900 to fix... The strange part is... that I looked online for my own part, and I found a forum where there are almost 100 complaints of a phantom rock hitting condensers all over the US. I talked to the General Manager and I talked with corporate and there was nothing that could be done on their part... My lawyer will now have to take matters into his own hands.

I am writing in reference to the safety of my children. I am a single mother of two (one having a disability). I have purchased my second Kia in the past three years. I love my Kia Soul. I have only had this car a year and five months. I am very saddened to know that my motor is causing my car to burn oil so frequent that I am having to add up to a quart a week to make sure that my engine does not lock up on me. I am so upset knowing that as a single mother, I just cannot afford to buy an engine, a motor, nor can I afford to get one fixed. I use my car on a daily basis to transport my children, and for my job. I am planning a move across the country in June and I just do not know what I am going to do. Is there anyway someone from Consumer Affairs can help me get this fixed. My warranty is out because I am over 100,000 miles. I bought an extended warranty upon purchasing the used vehicle. I am aware there are recalls happening with Kia and would like to know if my car qualifies. I am taking a risk everyday on putting my children in that car. I was so upset when I spoke with someone in Consumer Affairs and the only response they gave me was that I better try and hire a lawyer! Please I am begging for someone to help me. After my family and I have been valued customers for years and have purchased a total of seven cars out of the East Tennessee lot, I know that there is something that you all can do. Please help!!!!

2006.5 Kia Optima EX - This is the worst car ever. I purchased it new and have had trouble ever since. First, the headlamps bulb on low burned out. The dealer rep said it was the alternator. A new one was put on and still the same problem. New headlamps were installed and still had the same problem. Lighting for nothing - I cant see driving after night on low beam. The starter went out. The factory alignment was bad and the dealer could not fix it; I had to pay to get an aftermarket cam for it and a front end alignment. The switch went bad on the 6-way power seat; the brakes wore out too soon for normal driving. Two sets of tires worn out due to not being in line when the dealer said there was nothing wrong with it. And the straw that broke the camel’s back: it is not worth anything, not even to a dealer. So having said all this, I would tell everyone to stay away from Kia. It’s a good looking car but a pile of junk.

I purchased my 2014 Kia Sorento after it was a leased vehicle for two years. I was thrilled at the beginning until halfway through year 2 of owning it ALL of my paint started peeling off of the roof and the sides of the windshield. After fighting Kia for months and them denying that anything with their paint is faulty and taking it to numerous repair shops I got it painted for the low low price of $1,000. I then had the OTHER side of my windshield start peeling less than 2 weeks after I got the driver side painted resulting in me having to fight with Kia again. I have been fighting this battle since June of 2018 and am still waiting for my reimbursement check from consumer affairs for the first round of repainting. They apparently keep forgetting to hit their magical process button for my check as that is the excuse Ive now received 3 times from them. DO NOT BUY ONE OF THEIR CARS. The paint is not properly applied and is not thick enough and will start peeling just before year 4 of owning the car. Kia will tell you they only insure their paint job for 3 years and that you are out of luck. This product is faulty and they are not willing to do anything except turn you away and not acknowledge the problem. Terrible company.

Performance and customer service from dealership: I was never given a chanc
Performance and customer service from dealership: I was never given a chance to drive my New 2012 Kia Rio by the salesperson. Being a woman, I felt they took advantage of me. No test drive, who does that. It was a cash sale. Yes, thats right. I shelled out a cool $ 19,924.05 and now, I am getting treated like crap by the local dealership. I was not told there was not a spare in the trunk. So all this time I m driving around thinking it was a spare not a box and a small compressor that doesnt work. It took me having a flat on a cold snowy day with my baby in my car. They refused to send a courtesy shuttle for me and kept giving me the run around. I then called for roadside service which showed up 1 hour later. I could change the tire and the hole was too big to fix with the so-called repair kit, what a joke. That is just one issue. Second complaint, the gas mileage is not what the sticker price claimed. I spent too much on gas with that car. And third complaint is the car drives lousy and rough, it doesnt even drive like a new car, no smoothness, and I feel and hear every bump in the road. It has a pull and drives real slow and doesnt take a hill at all. The car has no power at all. What liars to get a sale. These people should be ashamed of themselves. Poor service and no care for the customer now that they have got my hard earned money. Do I take a loss and trade or just sell the car out right and go to another dealership? I knew I should have gone to Ford. I guess you live and learn you people are real jerks. Now, they have my car that was towed to them. They have no tires on hand and had to order one at my expense, $100.00 to be exact. And, they refused to give me loaner car until this issue could be resolved, but I raised so much beef with them they finally obliged me and gave me a used Sonata to drive. That is the least you could have done. Do I sue or wait and see what Kia is going to do about my car. Twice they tell me nothing is wrong with the car, I drive it daily and I know that there is. I even had my son fly in from Virginia to drive it. I figured maybe it was operator error. Wrong, it is that cheap made car which should have been recalled in my book. The overall performance is shabby to say the least and has no high quality performance and for a 2012, it drives like it is 6 years old or more.

I was looking for a car with great gas mileage, comfortable in seating 5 people, and would last for many years. I bought the 2009 Kia Spectra LE and had some reservations as I had always owned either a Ford or Chevrolet all of the years I had driven but the salesman indicated that the nitrogen tires increased the gas mileage. After owning it for 2 years I developed an air leak and kept taking it to the dealership to get nitrogen in the tire until they could get me in for service on the tire. I finally just started using air and found absolutely no difference in my gas mileage so I have since replaced all 4 tires with regular air tires.

We bought a 2008 Kia Rondo EX 2.4L brand new from the dealership and opted for the Kia Protect 5 Star plan extended warranty. Thankfully this covered repeated visits for struts and front end parts and included the premature timing chain (not belt) replacement at 140K. At 151K the engine throws a rod through the block. All oil changes performed and documented and reviewed and approved by Kia. However the Kia Protect warranty states two items: 1) Repair will be covered up to the wholesale value of the vehicle (originally I was told by Kia my wholesale value was $1500 but after a month Kia Protect reviewed and increased to $3500).2) Warranty repairs may include new or reconditioned Kia parts but also says at the discretion of the administrator .Response from the dealership: I spoke with the extended warranty company this morning and they gave me a max value they will cover, they will cover to a max of $1479.00, and they will only install OEM Kia parts, which means you would have to cover the difference, and new parts and install you’ll be looking upwards of 10,000.00 which would be a large difference to cover. Your other option is a used complete motor assembly that would be approx. 4700.00 plus taxes installed, but they will not cover any of it. Motor will take a few business days to get to us, then we would need a few days for install.I argued with both the dealership and Kia that may include does not mean must include. However Kia Protect will only replace the engine with a new Kia engine and will not consider a used engine. Estimate from Kia Protect (LGM FINANCIAL SERVICES INC.) The estimate is as follows: total estimate $9484.60. Kia protect: $3500 including taxes. Remaining balance to be paid by contract holder: $5984.60. There is a $500 difference in the amount if the head does not have be machined. Escalated issue from Kia Protect from adjuster, supervisor and manager to no avail. Will be looking for a new vehicle from someone more reliable that stands by their product.

I brought the car to the dealer with what appeared to be a wheel bearing problem, 98,300 miles. It had been a great car. I followed all maintenance according to the service manual. They called me back 2 days later and said it was internal transmission damage, manual transmission. When was the last time somebody heard of a modern manual trans failing? After getting the runaround for almost a month, they tell me that I should have been following the severe service schedule because I live in New York. The car has had an easy life, well cared for and garaged. So, Kia warranty isnt worth the paper it was written on in the manual. The 10/100 powertrain warranty is a scam. Warning, if you have a Kia, ignore the service schedule and follow the severe service duty schedule. That way, they can deny your claim later because it was used in severe service.

2003 Kia Sorento heater and lights in the center dash controls: I bought it
2003 Kia Sorento heater and lights in the center dash controls: I bought it brand new; second was sold in GA in 2002. The heater has never gotten hot or even warm. On cold days, it takes about 20 to 30 minutes of driving to get the inside of the car—bearable but still cold. It has been in the shop multiple times and the service department says nothing is wrong. If you turn the fan on more than low it will stay ice cold on the inside of the car forever. Also, on cold days (below 38 F) the center dash control lights will go completely off or cycle over and over very fast so there is no control over any of the functions until the lights settle down and stay on normally, which is when it gets warm (bearable, the chill is mostly not bad) in the car. This has occurred since it was a year old, but the problem with the heater not working kept our attention after sending it in for a couple of times on the light problem. I do like the fact that it still runs and drives good with all service work recommended being done on time most of it at Kia, although the oil and filter changes were done elsewhere most of the time unless it was scheduled for service work at the same time. I installed a new set of spark plugs and actually did a couple of oil and filter changes myself to make sure it could be done by me if needed. I kept all paperwork. We just gave up on the heater being broken and learned to live with it after 5 years or so went by, but these problems have never been fixed for even a minute. I’m totally dissatisfied with Kia service on these two problems. A few months ago, the crankshaft pulley bolt broke and stranded us at BJs Gas pumps in Cumming, GA on Saturday night on Thanksgiving weekend. So we had it towed to Kia Mall of GA where we bought it and had to raise Cain for 6 to 8 weeks before they finally reimbursed us for the tow because the bolt had been replaced on a recall notice at their service department in 2007, I believe. I have never had to spend so much money on service work to keep a warranty in force, but in the long run it has been worth it because I just picked it up after having to replace the electronic crankshaft and camshaft sensors at 92,000 miles and they did replace the leaking valve cover gaskets under warranty. I did have to shell out $1620.00 for this trip to the shop, replace all the belts and change out the anti-freeze. Hopefully, it will keep running without any further serious problems for a year or so to make this trip worthwhile economically. I would buy another Sorento, but I would definitely not accept any excuses about not correcting any type of problems such as the ones Ive had with this one. All in all, I am semi-satisfied with the Sorento. I have never kept an auto this long before except my 1998 Expedition and I have spent a whole lot less money on the upkeep for the Expy. It just loves gasoline so much I cannot afford to drive it much and it isnt worth much on the market to sell. So I will keep it around as long as possible and give it to one of my grandchildren one day if they want.

I purchased a KIA Sorento in 2013. It was brand new. In 2017 at about 30,000 miles, it started producing a lot of blue exhaust. It continued to produce the blue exhaust, so I took it into KIA Roseville to get it serviced. They changed the oil, did regular maintenance, and checked out the problem. When I went in to pick up my car, they said everything was fine, and there was some sludge, but it should work its way out. They also told me to call them if the problem persisted. The problem did persist, so I called KIA Roseville, and asked if I should bring the car back in. They said that the problem was probably caused by the sludge, and that I should just continue driving on it to work the sludge out. Well, I kept driving on it, and even drove from Sacramento to San Diego. When I got back from my trip to San Diego, my car started making a strange noise. I called KIA, and made an appointment to get it checked out again. I took my car in, and this time they told me my engine was about to fail, and that we needed to replace it. They also said that KIA would probably not cover the warranty, because we were missing some of our maintenance-receipts. They told us that there was excessive sludge. What kind of car gets excessive sludge in the engine at 30,000 miles? Oh, and mind you, I never had one warning light go on in the car. Well, it turns out this problem with KIA Sorentos, and other models, is happening everywhere. I have found hundreds of views with the exact same problem.

Kia does NOT stand behind their 100,000 mile warranty at all. Bought 2006 Sedona new. Within 12k miles, both left and right turn signal lights going out all the time. Head lights burn out every other month. Front rotors and brakes need replaced, 12k and again and again. Bolts came up missing on sider door. Thermostat caused the check engine light to come on. NONE OF these item were covered! AC compressor went out twice, was fixed under warranty. At 60k, the Air bag light came on. Again not under warranty, 1500.00 to fix that. More headlights and turn signals all throughout the ownership of this Van. Rotors and brakes again. Blend door for AC and heat making a clicking sound in the dash. Valve covers leaking. Rattle and clunks in the front end now. Intermediate No start, No Crank, battery is good. All electrical items work with no crank no start. Found out this is a Junction box where all the wiring connect to along with the engine disable and key fob. Now the key fobs have to be reprogrammed at the dealer and they want anywhere from 52 to 80 dollars for that? This has to be one of the worst designed and most UNRELIABLE Brands on the road today.

I purchased a used 2016 Kia Sorento fully loaded SXL (Highest trim, original MSRP of $43,000) for $27,000 + TAX/FEE with just under 40,000 miles on it in 2017. I had the car shipped to me from Gary Rome KIA in ENFIELD, CT (Never do business with this dealership. They are dishonest). I live in TN and they shipped the car down to me after a brief negotiation of price over the phone. From the moment the car was delivered to me I had several issues that the KIA dealership that sold me the car should have taken care of. 1. The panoramic moonroof was sticking and wouldnt close properly. 2. The car had tires on it OLDER THAN THE SUV ITSELF! 3. The tailgate was sticking and not opening properly.4. The keyless entry and automatic tailgate opening both did not work properly (Less than 60% success on keyless entry, 90%+ failure on tailgate feature). 5. The car was delivered with only ONE key fob (Promised two, never made good on it. Thats $200). 6. The exhaust system on the SUV had a catastrophic failure resulting in complete loss of engine power and leaving me without a car for over a week while car was at local dealer being repaired under warranty. All these issues in a $40k SUV that was under 40k miles and about a year old.Despite all these issues, the warranty covered fixing the exhaust (Melted catalytic converter), fixing the moonroof (Lubrication added and hardware adjustments), and a temporary fix on the tailgate sticking (Anti-Stick coating applied. Didnt help for long. Problem returned within a month). The dealer never acknowledged the keyless entry had any issue telling me I had to physically remove the key from my pocket for it to work properly. This defeats the entire purpose of KEYLESS entry. This is 100% unacceptable and they know it. Despite all these issues upfront, I enjoyed the value of the features in the car and wanted to keep it. I kept it for about year and traded it in 2018 for a Lexus (Ive never had a single poor experience with Lexus. They are worth every extra penny and their keyless entry JUST WORK!).For those considering buying a KIA here are some PROS and CONS based from my experiences with the product and company. PROS. 1. They honored warranty work. Never cost me anything other than inconvenience and time. 2. Cars come with high end features for less cost. 3. Buying a used KIA is very attractive from a price/value perspective. 4. Quality of KIA has improved dramatically over the years.CONS. 1. Car had tons of issues, some of which like the keyless entry that KIA refused to acknowledge were issues. 2. KIA vehicles DEPRECIATE LIKE A LEAD BALLOON. NEVER buy a brand new KIA. Youll get taken to the cleaners on your trade or when you decide to sell. Even if you buy used, the trade/value of their vehicles are TERRIBLE! Having owned the 2016 KIA Sorento for about a year and getting the mileage up to 60k miles, I was offered anywhere from 20-22k in trade AT A KIA DEALERSHIP! A Ford dealer offered me $23.8k. I paid $27k. Car dropped between 3.2-7k in value in 20k miles/1 year. Seriously? Even the KIA dealerships dont want their product back. Very disappointed in value retention of product. Some dealerships didnt even want to offer anything because of the KIA name. Maybe I just got unlucky and was delivered a LEMON. However I dont give KIA a pass for this since I purchased a practically brand new car from THEIR FRANCHISED DEALERSHIP and was delivered an absolute piece of garbage. I purchase a new 1-3 year old used car (Normally off lease) about every 1-3 years. I favor high end luxury cars in the price range of $30-40k. There are three car manufacturers I will never buy from again. BMW (These cars are fun to drive but absolutely trash and maintenance and repairs will eat you alive). KIA (These cars on the surface appear to be great values but you get what you pay for). Mitsubishi (My first car was a Galant. Head gasket blew up at 60k miles. Car was babied and I expected to get many more years of life out of it. This happened when I was just out of college.) Congratulations KIA. You made the list. Ill never buy your brand again because of the terrible experience and product you delivered.

I own a home in Sioux City and rented it out right away to move and start my job on December 5, 2015. Everything was going great here with the move and job and I was adjusting quickly. My brother in law and sister in law live here so having family here helped with move. The beginning of January came and my mother in law decided she wanted to visit for Christmas. My sister in law let me use her car to go pick her mother up but only after she had the oil changed on her vehicle. I also decided to have the oil changed in my 2012 Kia Sorento as driving all the miles back and forth to Iowa over the past few months with the move had put me at being due for an oil change. I planned on going to get it changed at the dealership as I had always done, but wanted/needed it done quickly, so decided to go to Jiffy Lube (#901 ran by Southwest Lubrication, Inc.) 8100 Crestline Ave Unit E-2 Littleton, CO 80123 (303) 933-9319. I went on January 8th, 2016 at 1:30 in the afternoon. They were not very busy, and were able to get me in quickly. They did their standard routine as far as letting me know what needed/should be done and their different classifications of oil changes. I chose the Signature Service as they recommended due to my vehicle being of foreign nature. I also had them replace the air filter as they recommended after showing me the old one. I was only there for about 45 minutes to an hour, it did not take them long to complete, paid for the service and was on my way. This is where things started to happen. The past few months, (November-current) my vehicle had been making a squeaking noise coming from the brakes, as they also needed to be replaced, but not to the point yet of absolutely having to have this done. On January 10th, two days after the oil change at Jiffy Lube, I noticed a noise not like the squeaking of the brakes, but more like plastic flapping or something with a belt or fan blade. I was only assuming these were what these noises could be as I have heard them before on previously owned vehicles and friends vehicles. The noise was bad up until the vehicle reached 30-40 mph or about 2 on the RPM scale in the dashboard. I drove to and from work at Advance America, which is about 6 miles from my home, so about a 12 mile round trip. I did this from January 11-13. I drove the vehicle to my sister in laws on January 14th, which is about 20 miles from my home, where it stayed parked for 24 hours while I took her vehicle to pick up her mother in Sioux Falls, SD. After I returned the next day, January 15, I picked up my vehicle and went to work where I did marketing, which involved driving my vehicle around to distribute flyers. This added an additional 50+ miles to my vehicle. January 16 I also went to work, round trip of about 12 miles. The 17th, I used my sister in law vehicle to return my mother in law home. My car sat for another 24 hours as I did this. The next day, the 18th I did not have work due to the holiday, but noticed the noise was getting worse. The evening of the 18th my brother in law had a friend come over to their home, where I was at the time, to check out my vehicle. We first started the vehicle and drove around the parking lot and down the street so he could hear the noise. My brother in laws friend is NOT a mechanic but his brother is and he has been around cars his whole life, so I thought he would be able to quickly tell what was wrong and recommend what to do. After we returned to the parking lot, we opened the hood so he could look at that and check the oil, basic things everyone does with a car. We pulled the dipstick and there was absolutely NO oil on the end. We did this a couple times to verify it was correct in showing no oil. My brother in law unscrewed the cap of where the oil filter is housed to make sure there was one, he did this only after I told him to. There was a filter but no oil really on said filter. We screwed the cap back on the filter housing and examined around everything further to notice what looked to be oil covering most everywhere under the engine in the engine compartment. At this point I/they decided that I needed to go to the dealership to have it looked at further. We added 2 quarts of oil to make sure there was enough for me to get home and then to the dealership as soon as possible. I took my vehicle to Peak Kia Littleton 5077 S Wadsworth Way Littleton, CO 80123 (303) 904-7806 and spoke with **, the service adviser there. I did this on January 20th and he recommended and said the next step would be to have a diagnostic test done. The next available time to do this was Thursday January 21st. I was there right away on Thursday morning for the test as I had to be to work by 10 am. The test took longer than expected and I called my work and this was fine with them to show up a couple hours late due to this appointment. I ended up calling into work that day because the testing took longer than expected and that was due to Kia informing me that they had looked and done everything as far as they could diagnostic wise and advised me that my engine was done for and would need to be completely replaced. I immediately thought it was something Jiffy Lube had done and called and informed them I would be looking into this further and also would be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, which I did. The complaint number is **. I have not heard anything back yet from this complaint. I was then contacted back by Jiffy Lube to get more information from me and the manager there said he was investigating this. A few hours went by and the Jiffy Lube manager called to inform me that after reviewing their tapes and speaking with the service techs, that they did nothing wrong and everything had been done correctly. I did not agree and asked for their corporate number which he gave as their location number and for his bosses contact information. This location is owned as a franchise and the franchise owner just happened to be there at this time. He got on the phone, introduced himself as Doug ** owner/operator, and I explained what was going on to him. He informed me he would do his best to help resolve this and offered to go to the Kia dealership to take a look for himself and see what he could see. He spoke with the service people at the dealership and after he was done with that, informed me that he and they had come to the conclusion that the oil was coming from somewhere other than the filter housing. I do not know much of anything about auto parts or things like this as I explained to him and he told me it was basically between Kia and I, and that it was something faulty with the vehicle, and being under warranty should be covered and fixed by Kia. At this point, I figured that it could possibly be something wrong with the vehicle itself, because since I purchased it brand new in 2012, I had been to the dealership in Sioux City, IA many times with several different issues that they fixed and replaced under warranty. I contacted the Kia dealership in Littleton, Peak Kia, and spoke with ** once again. I told him what Doug from Jiffy Lube had told me and he informed me that it was NOT something that they did and said it was something that happened with or at Jiffy Lube. I told him I wasnt saying that it was something they had just recently done, but could be something with that particular vehicle as I had had numerous things done and fixed prior to moving here. When it came down to it, he told me that it would be $345.00 for them to tear down the engine to find out what the real problem was. I already owed/owe them (Peak Kia) $115 for the diagnostic test and did not have the extra money to pay the $345 to pay to do this to either find out if was something wrong with the vehicle, then they would refund me and it would be covered by warranty, OR it would be something Jiffy Lube did and would NOT be covered by warranty and I would be out there $345 and would have to pay OVER $8000 for a new engine. I did not/do not have the $345 to pay for then engine tear down since I lost my job due to NOT having reliable transportation, a requirement of my position there. They gave me the choice of either resigning or they would have to fire me since I was still in training and was losing my means of transportation. I chose to resign on January 22nd after working half the day and discussing all of these details with my boss. ** at Kia had told me, that day, Friday the 22nd of January that my vehicle was not drivable, and if I did, my engine would definitely seize up. I have left it sitting there at the dealership since. I have been back and forth with both Jiffy Lube and Kia, have filed a complaint with the BBB, tried to go and file a small claims case but after discussing with them the cost of an engine, advised that Colorado law on small claims limits at $7500 and it will be much more to fix my vehicle not to mention my loss of employment and now I am about to be evicted because I have no income. I have tried to contact numerous lawyers and other offices for assistance on what to do and how to find an attorney, but have not gotten anywhere yet. I have been in contact with a radio talk show and have been on the air with Tom Martino, who assists in consumer affairs, and has been helpful so far, but I think I need to hire an attorney or someone to help me with this. I know this is a VERY long plea for assistance, but wanted whomever read it to be fully aware of my situation so I could get some direction on where to go from here. ANY information you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Again thank you for reading this and I hope to hear from someone soon!!

2010 kia forte - door locks open automatically when stopped. I have had this issue for about a month now. The first time I took it to my kia dealership they said they couldnt re-enact the locks opening on their own and to bring it back when it was doing this. The issue is when I stop, the car is in drive, or reverse, the automatic door locks open...You cant manually or by pushing the button, get them to relock. I feel this is a real safety issue. We took the car back on a morning when the locks had just opened on their own and went straight to the dealerships and spoke again to the service manager, who sat in the car with my husband on dealership property and drove no more than 10 feet, locks opened... They drove a few more feet and they opened again. So the service manager had witnessed the problem himself which he said they needed to have happen to verify what I was telling them. He was supposed to at that time reach out to kia corporate to see if there were any other issues of this type on file or if there were any modules about the locks. We were told on the day the service mgr. witnessed the problem they didnt have time to fix it that day and to bring it back in a couple of weeks and leave it overnight so they could check it first thing in the am. This brings us to today. They have had my car all day and the tech is saying he cant recreate the problem. I dont know why he has to when the service manager has told him the problem. They hadnt done any checks for shorts or faults. I called kia corporate and spoke to customer care there who did call the dealership to see what they had done as there was no record of the dealership logging a record with corporate as they were supposed to do two weeks ago. The service manager wasnt in today. They called him at home and he told them what he witnessed. At that point they said they were going to check for shorts. They had my car all day and are still saying they cant recreate the problem. Apparently tomorrow the service manager will be in and he will try to recreate the problem and were told I want this resolved by end of day tomorrow. I told them I want them to reimburse me for the gas they are using up driving around in my car to diagnose a problem their service manager had already seen. I dont see why, upon the service managers word that there is a problem with the locks, that they dont just replace the door locks. So they have my car for another day, for which I am inconvenience. If they dont fix the problem tomorrow, I will be contacting the COO of Kia Canada and registering my extreme displeasure with this experience. This was my first kia and now it will be my last. The customer service is awful and it appears they just dont want to fix the problem because its still under warranty.

We bought our Kia used, (we werent told it was used at the time we bought it, we noticed it was used after we had bought it and got in it - as we didnt test drive this particular one). In any event, the warranty covered the electrical parts up to 12,000. At about 11,000 miles, I was driving down the highway and was told that break lights werent working. We had head light issues and just thought it was a the bulbs, but both break lights went out, then pulled into the parking deck and notice no running light and no head lights except for brakes. We had to get towed back to the dealership and they replaced all the bulbs saying they were burned out. By the time the lights went out again, it was out of warranty. Every month or so, a bulb will go out - a head light, a break light. Then we noticed when you hit the back of the break light, the lights will flicker on and off, so the bulbs werent actually burned out. Then we began to notice the electrical seats were burned out. And then the lights where the manual transmission gear stick was burned out. Then the license plate lights. And now, for the first time a new electrical issue surfaced in the electric side mirrors, they will no longer work. We noticed many burn marks within the electrical components. We are certain KIA was aware of the electrical issue when we brought the car in under its warranty period, but they refused to address and simply replaced the bulbs and said sometimes things like this happen. We have been stopped by police for headlights being out, brake lights not working and license plate light out. While I love my KIA Sorento and mechanically it has been a reliable vehicle, the electrical issues have been dismal, costly, and unsafe.

Kia was sued over their faulty harmonic balancer bolt yet will not stand behind the Sorento defect. Not a dependable company! I have been basically told too bad that the bolt broke on a car with 100,00 miles and still like new, they want me to pay to put a new motor in it, and pay for the towing of 475$. They told me they would fix it and pay towing. Now they backed out...again not a dependable company. Buy CHEVY OR DODGE!!!
