Sustainability: As an electric vehicle, the Soul EV is eco-friendly and contributes to reduced emissions and dependence on fossil fuels.

The 2019 Kia Soul EV offers a compact and practical electric vehicle option for those looking for emissions-free transportation. It's important to note that the Soul EV is designed primarily for urban and suburban driving, and its range is limited compared to some other electric vehicles. I purchased a brand new 2019 KIA Sportage two days ago. Its the first time I drove it today. It popped up a warning message (with yellow light) after one mile of driving, saying Low Tire Pressure. I called the road service to check it up. Based on the User Manual, the tire pressure should be around 35 in cold weather. But for my car, three tires were around 30 and one was 27. I am just wondering: Do they really check up everything and make sure it meets all the criteria before they deliver it to the customers??? Well, this is just the first day. The service guy inflated the tires. I will keep an eye on it in the following days to see whether its the problem that they didnt inflate it enough before delivering or the tires are really bad and they deflate gradually. Anyway, my first day of driving a brand new car, was ruined.

I made an appointment a week before my appointment. I was very specific about the recall over the phone when I made my appointment. I have came in. I was very specific when I talk to the front desk why I was there over my recall, I even told them if I need to pull out the paperwork, they corresponding with me acknowledging why I was there. They have told me it will take 2 1/2 hour. After sitting in the lobby for 30 minutes I went to the front and I noticed my car has not been pulled in the back so I asked them if they can take me home like some other dealerships do. After talking to them more about this recall they told me that the parts not there and they were trying to do something else with my vehicle that wasn’t approved. Now in February 5 they wanted to put a liner in my gas tank. I told them I did not wanted that done and that’s what they were trying to do and charge me $160 for it without my acknowledgment. Poor customer service. They don’t listen to the customers and after all this the man looked at me like I was the one confused. I would definitely not recommend this business. They honestly don’t care about their customers.

I have put up with 5 years of extremely poor customer service and vehicle service with KIA, Northland, Calgary. I have completed numerous surveys outlining my negative experiences and have never heard back once from KIA Canada. This last issue started on May 22, 2014, when I brought my car in for regular maintenance and to get the the defrost fixed as no air was blowing through the defrost vents. When I left I was told they had to order a part. I brought my vehicle back on June 13th. It was in the shop all afternoon. When I picked my car up I was told it was all fixed and right on the invoice it states retested all good. When I got in my car it was exactly the same, it was not fixed at all. Shane, the manager, came out and had a look and witnessed that the defrost was not working at all, no air was coming from the defrost! He changed a very dirty filter in the glove compartment. Of course I was very angry that I was told it was fixed and it was not, as the previous year I had the exact same experience but that time I had to bring my car back 3 times before it was fixed. Twice I was told verbally and in writing on the invoice, the problem was fixed when it was not. That is another KIA experience for another time. At this time I was told they would order every part possible to ensure it get fixed as now they are not sure what the problem is. So Shane said they will call when the part the comes in which should be within the next couple of weeks. I did not hear back from KIA at all. Finally I called KIA on Tuesday, August 26th (almost two months later) and spoke to Shane. He stated he would find out what was happening and call me back later in the day or first thing the next day. No return call, I finally called on Friday August 29th at 5 PM. I had to leave a message as all agents were busy so I left a very pointed message that I expected a call back regarding my issue. Their message indicated they were open till 5:30 PM. I did not get a return call from Shane until Monday at which time I was told the part would be in Tuesday or Thursday for sure and he would call me on one of those days to set up a time to come in. NO RETURN CALL YET AGAIN. I called today Monday, Sept 8 at 4:30 PM and spoke to Shane. And yes I was beyond angry, it is now snowing and cold and I have no defrost in my vehicle. I Do not believe the part was on back order. I do believe they did not order the part. Even if it was on back order not once was I contacted over the summer nor were calls ever returned as promised. I have had to initiate every contact during this whole issue. This does not really surprise me as the last 5 years (for warranty) I have dealt with much of the same and worse. I will never buy another KIA based on the horrible customer service and the apparently incompetent mechanics they employ. After all this time I even question whether or not the maintenance they say they do is actually done.

I drove a Toyota 4 Runner for the ten years preceding my purchase of a 2011 Sorento and never need an alignment even with almost 200000 miles. My Sorento has already had one expensive 4-wheel alignment due to pulling to one side and is now doing it again. The vehicle has 36,000 miles on it with the overwhelming majority of the mileage on the interstate. I do not travel on dirt or gravel roads. What is up with these alignment issues?

Rattle from under dashboard from new, told at 1500 service plastic settling in. Told at 15000 service not covered by warranty as it was due to plastic dash etc and classed as normal. 27000 rattle driving me mad, again not covered by warranty. Spoke to RACQ, they felt it was definitely a warranty problem. Contacted Kia Sydney, ** promised to ring back. Still waiting, contacted Kia in Korea no response. Service manager from Kia service in Bundamba Ipswich contacted me saying they will have a look at the car, but will take a WEEK to check it out and no promises it will be covered by warranty.

Kia has very disappointing customer service. I bought my Kia back into 2012. It is a 2013 Kia Sorento Ex. I have approximately 89,000 miles on it. My oil check light started coming on and off (it would flicker). I brought it into Kia and they said that my oil pressure sending unit is failing and that is why the light was going on and off and it would need to be replaced. They quoted me it would cost between $800-900 to fix. However, when I bought my Kia I got an extended all power train warranty good up to 200,000 miles. They said that it wasnt covered under the warranty though. Even though the actual part cost is $25 (where its located in the engine is why the labor is so expensive), but if you read the reviews of Kias, this is a huge failing part of the car. Many people have issues with this and its very common in kias. So why wouldnt they recall the part? They recalled them back on the 2011 models, but not the 2013. They are still a big problem. If this part fails, my engine would be destroyed. So then does Kia cover the cost under my power train warranty? Its a joke. When I called Kia to complain of this issue, they couldnt give me an answer after I asked them this question. It failed on my car while it was parked in my garage. I woke up to find an extreme amount of oil on my garage floor under my car. Checked my oil and there was zero in it. I had to have a service come to my house since my car was unable to move without ruining the engine. After replacing the part and labor it costed me $502.00. I would never buy a Kia again.

2006.5 Kia Optima EX - This is the worst car ever. I purchased it new and have had trouble ever since. First, the headlamps bulb on low burned out. The dealer rep said it was the alternator. A new one was put on and still the same problem. New headlamps were installed and still had the same problem. Lighting for nothing - I cant see driving after night on low beam. The starter went out. The factory alignment was bad and the dealer could not fix it; I had to pay to get an aftermarket cam for it and a front end alignment. The switch went bad on the 6-way power seat; the brakes wore out too soon for normal driving. Two sets of tires worn out due to not being in line when the dealer said there was nothing wrong with it. And the straw that broke the camel’s back: it is not worth anything, not even to a dealer. So having said all this, I would tell everyone to stay away from Kia. It’s a good looking car but a pile of junk.

I bought a Kia Cerato in February 2011. Since I had this vehicle I’ve experienced a vibration when it is in 3 gear. The car went in for the gearbox to be repaired or replaced. Unfortunately after 3 weeks being sent from one gearbox service center to the other, Kia South Africa can’t get authority from Korea to get the gearbox replaced under warranty. It will be send again today for a 3rd report but even this might not get Korea to condemn the gearbox. Kia SA are not prepared to provide a loan vehicle as it is not policy nor do they have a spare gearbox to replace until they can find the cause of vibration. In the meantime I can’t get to my customers and this can result in me losing my job. This will be my last Kia vehicle!

I just noticed a bubble on the hood of my 2010 KIA Soul. I called the dealer and they said that Kia only warranties paint for 3 years or 30,000 miles. Well, it just so happened that although its within the 3 years, I am over the mileage by about 15,000. First of all, what do miles driven have to do with paint? I told him I keep it garaged at home and under cover at work. It rarely gets sun exposure other than when Im driving. Im not happy!

Took my car to Kia East Syracuse for warranty service. Was told car needed to be kept overnight while they waited for a part. Was called next day. Salesman stated following: “Hi Rose, we just found out your part won’t be in until the first week in October, and your lease happens to end the first week in October. Why dont you come in and get a new lease vehicle. I stated I would not be purchasing a new vehicle. The service department is stating they dont have a loaner car for me, they want me to go almost three weeks without a vehicle. I contacted Kia Corporate and they state that they cant help, since the dealer is claiming they dont have a car they can offer as a loaner. They stated they could possibly rent me a car, but they need a manager to authorize and that takes 48 hours. Ive never heard of a car company doing warranty work on a car where the part takes 3 weeks to procure and will not offer a loaner car to drive. Not the happy Kia experience I see in their commercials. Won’t buy another Kia and neither will my family members unless they can make this right.

I purchased the 2018 Kia Sorento EX 3.3L AWD new in January 2018. I currently have 23k miles on the vehicle now. This vehicle has been one of the best vehicles Ive ever owned, and Ive owned a lot of cars. The AWD system works great, handling is great, power is there when you need it and its comfortable. Every vehicle has its cons, but I find it difficult to find one with the Sorento. I know a few other people who own a Sorento and couldnt be happier with the purchase. The interior has a great feel and well put together, unlike a lot of new vehicles and their cheap composite plastic. The lines are almost seamless. The warranty (10yr/100k) seems great until you read the fine print. A lot of components are dropped off the warranty at certain mileage intervals along the way to the 100k benchmark. I did pay for the better warranty which covers all components to 100k miles, but even then other companies have warranties only going out to 24k to 36k miles, which is convenient to drop the vehicles warranty the moment it leaves new car status.I would recommend this vehicle to anyone thats considering purchasing an mid size SUV. For what you pay its the best bang for the buck. There is a transmission software update available. I brought the vehicle back in at 5600 miles to have it completed. KIA sent a $50 Visa prepaid debit card in the mail due to the inconvenience. Ive never received anything from any other manufacturer for an inconvenience.

2013 KIA RIO5 SX, 77,000 miles. August 6, 2018. Driver side passenger door, electric window would not go down. Took to KIA dealer & found out the sound barrier material that was glued to inside of door was falling apart & jamming window. Dealer checked all 4 doors & found the drivers door sound barrier material was also falling apart. Dealer said no replacement is available. Dealer removed sound barrier material in drivers door and driver side passenger door. Mileage is over the 60,000 mile warranty so I was charged $186.03. I called KIA 800-333-4542 & opened case 12821760. KIA said car was out of warranty & there is nothing they can do. This car is well maintained & never in an accident. This sound barrier material should not have failed in under 5 years.

We are writing this because of an incident that we had on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Valencia, CA Kia dealership (a.k.a. CA superstores KIA). During our visit, weve had a very difficult situation and inappropriate matter with one of the sales managers, Raldo **. At the beginning of purchase transaction (after weve mentioned about the final quote that the dealership agreed on), Raldo ** started yelling with anger and stomped out on us. Offensively, he doubted us about the price that the dealership gave us. This made us very uncomfortable and it was extremely rude behavior. We couldnt find any reasons of Raldo **s attitude. Weve never had such an unpleasant experience and being insulted before.Later, he came back and weve tried to tell him that we didnt appreciate his demeanor. However, he totally ignored us and walked away again for the second time without any apologies. It seems like his main focus was on something else, not selling a car. Weve requested his business card, but he refused to give it out and told us that he doesnt have it. Therefore, we are doubting his qualification as a sales manager. Absolutely, we found zero customer skills and business ethic from this person. We werent expecting a top service, but at least he didnt need to be rude. Based on todays bad experience, we believed that we are not the first and only customer who have received this type of treatment. Weve lost our time and effort.Unfortunately, we could not purchase the vehicle because of the above incident with Raldo **. We are very disappointed and will not recommend to any friends and/or family members about this Kia dealership and his service. Finally, we strongly not recommend this person to any future Kia customers.

Kia Motors wanted to charge me $470 to replace a timing belt on my auto. I refused and, two months later, my engine was destroyed. Kia stated I violated my warranty and failed to honor its Powertrain Warranty. It was brought out in litigation that the timing belt was covered and that Kia Motors has a conflict between their warranty and their required maintenance schedule. The issue that really needs to be addressed here is that the courts are allowing Kia Motors to enforce a limited liability clause to limit the damages in a lawsuit, but the clause the judges are using is not a clause that applies to Kia Motors express warranties.

I purchased a 2013 Kia Sorento in mid-2012. We love the model and its features; however, the car has less than 12,000 miles on it and its making us question the quality of the electronics installed in the brand. The electronic throttle control has now failed twice on my wife while heading to work. I mean, a total failure in rush hour traffic no less! It is a major safety related issue and KIA needs to man up and get it right. So far, however, Coleman KIA in Ewing, New Jersey has been anything but zealous, accommodating or attentive in this matter. IMO, Their 1st attempt at a fix was a software REBOOT/ UPDATE.This morning, it happened again (6 days later), again displaying a CEL/MIL and entering limp mode (correlating code P0638, 2nd time) along with 0 throttle response, on the interstate no less! My wife was fortunate enough to be able to coast it into the breakdown lane and restart it, though in limp mode. These incidents have put my family at great risk. Im not happy about this at all and can only wring my hands as I prepare for the We cleaned the throttle body again, statement noted on the service ticket. Make no bones, KIA. I will not hesitate to litigate if any harm befalls me or mine because of this. I just hope you got it right this time. If I have to apply for a lemon reimbursement and head for another brand, so be it. Right now though, I just pray you dont kill us all with unreliable electronics/build quality.

I purchased a used 2008 Kia Rondo in Houston, Texas in May of 2009. It had around 38,000 miles on it but appeared to be in a very good shape. About a month ago, which was in October, 2011, the air conditioner started blowing only hot air. I brought in to West Side Kia in Katy, TX and was told that I needed a new air conditioning compressor and it would cost me $1,300 to fix it. My car is out of warranty because it has around 62,000 miles on it. The service advisor told me that I need to consider whether or not I want to put that kind of money into my Rondo or just trade it in for something new. My God, the car is only 3 years old! I was in shock.I asked the service advisor if this was what the quality the consumer should expect--only three years use of a Kia before having to trade it in? I asked him how a car so young would already need a new air conditioning compressor. What made matters worst was I was approached by two very pushy sales people, one of which, I told that if I had to buy another car, it certainly would not be a Kia. Ive had cars that have had over 150,000 miles on it with air conditioners that still worked like they did when the car was brand new. I was also informed that a Kia cannot use anything but Kia parts and because of this, the cost of a new compressor was triple what a regular one would cost me. It seems to me that there is something very wrong about this. I feel as if Ive been ripped off and I cannot afford to buy another car right now.

I am a little perplexed with your judgement call Kia... I own a 2014 Kia Sorento that’s as apart of your engine recall. The car “passed” the tests ran on it to determine if a new engine was needed, only to have the engine completely cease going 50mph on a major highway in Virginia. I received a call today about an open recall on a fuel pump issue potentially causing fire. While I was aware of this situation due to the national news the issue has received I was not prepared for the supposed resolution to this issue... I was told that I needed to bring the vehicle in for inspection to determine “if they” thought the fuel pump needed to be replaced...So, let me get this straight you want me to yet again trust people that told me my engine was completely fine when it wasn’t to now tell me I don’t need a new fuel pump but potentially catch fire??? Something is seriously wrong with this situation! The fact that you are willing to put peoples safety at jeopardy is disheartening... I have zero trust that if I am told the fuel pump doesn’t need to be replaced that I am safe. You need a better resolution and you need one fast...

I bought a new 60,000 dollar vehicle Kia Sorrento, I have had to boost it first thing in morning, I have had to boost it when out shopping in parking lot. I went into Kia and they said they would charge me 140 if they could find nothing wrong. I should not be charged anything as there is definitely something wrong. Sorrento is loaded and they said if youre using a lot of things in car it takes 18 to 20 minutes to charge battery back up. I boosted it yesterday in parking lot of bed, bath and beyond drove around 20 min, came home parked it, just went out to start it dead again. I think either battery is not big enough to have enough reserve power or parasitic drain or it’s not fully charging (not my fault).Yesterday the light over the button for locking door went out. As I said vehicle is new under 12000 kilometres. I think it is terrible youre dead in the water after you buy a 60000 dollar vehicle. I regret buying a Kia, this was my first and never ever had this prob with another vehicle. People beware, I sure do not want to be left walking in 40 below weather.

Kia reported me late to the credit bureaus five months in a row. I didnt know this until we applied for a home loan. When I found out, I spent the next week on the phone every day. Spoke to many reps and supervisors. I was told that I needed to learn to make my payments and one even threatened to repo my car. I got a copy of my archived bank statements to Prove I made my payments. Two of the months they reported was due to an extension I applied for and they processed the paperwork late. The other months were because they simply lost my payments. Good thing Im a bit internet savvy because I finally located the number to corporate and the name of the CEO. Once I called there, all the sudden the payments were found and my credit cleared within five days. I then requested copies of my payment history to verify that my payments were applied appropriately and they accused me of having litigation going on and got very rude and hung up on me. Corporate is now refusing to let me speak with anyone. I contacted Better Business Bureau and Kia Financial responded to them denying even having an account with me. Now I have to send in a monthly statement to even prove that I have a business relationship with them... If anyone could like the number to corporate, I would be happy to provide. Its time we as consumers make them change how they operate...

My 2012 Sorento w/ keyless entry has intermittent starting issues. Sometimes it cranks over fast and starts immediately. Sometimes, intermittently, it will groan, have a voltage drop that resets the A & B trip odometers and struggles to turn over. On three occasions, weeks apart it has failed to start at all. It just grunts. Thinking the obvious, a weak battery, the voltage reading from the battery posts (not under load) is still good. 12.5 to 13.2.. With a meter connected during the first second of cranking the voltage drops down to 1.9 volts and the trip odometers are zeroed out. Could this be a defective relay failing to cut all accessory loads during cranking, or a bad starter motor pulling significantly more amps that it should or a bad battery. The volt meter when driving at 40 mph reads about 14.3v. Thanks for your opinion.

My experience with Kia Roadside Assistance has been a very positive one so far. If I need any type of roadside assistance, I give Kia Roadside Assistance a call or I use the app that is on my phone and begin whats needed to get the wheels turning as to me getting taken care of. Every time I have called Kia Roadside Assistance its usually concerning a battery dead issue. Someone from Kia Roadside takes my information and sends someone out right away to give me assistance. The wait for the technician sent out by Kia Roadside Assistance is never a long wait. The technician from Kia Roadside Assistance is usually kind and straightforward offering help and then solving the problem in what I feel is record time. So, based on my experiences with Kia Roadside Assistance this last year and a half Im well pleased.

Are you thinking of buying a 2011 or 2012 Kia Sorento? Forget it! My wife and I are both professionals who depend on our cars to get to work every day without fail. My wife is a pharmacist and I am an attorney. We are both in our 50s. In early 2010, we bought a 2011 Kia Sorento primarily because of the push-button ignition feature. My wife has advanced arthritis and the Honda Element she had been driving was hard for her to change gears with its dash-mounted shifter with the button on the thumb-side of the stick. We bought a brand new 2011 Kia Sorento from Lee Kia in Fort Walton Beach, Florida for under $26,000 financed through our credit union. The car performed well until 2 months ago, when we took it to the same dealer for a service recall we had gotten in the mail. When the car came back from the dealer, my wife said it was slow starting when she depressed the brake and pressed the push button ignition. On Monday, 7/18/11, the car would not start at all. It was completely dead. It then had 25,000 miles on it. I called Kia Roadside Assistance and they came and towed it to the same dealership that had done the recall work.It has been in the shop ever since then (18 days). I would repeatedly call the Service Department and speak with their manager Joe, who acted like he was annoyed at having to tell us anything! We were given a rental in the meantime at Kias expense, but this week they said they need a part that they cannot get and they have no idea when we will get the part back! I called the local General Manager at the beginning of this week. He was asked to call me back during the noon hour on my cell, but instead called me at 9:10 AM when I was in court and unavailable.I called and left messages for him the same day, but he did not return my call for 2 days. He then said that even though the car is built in Georgia – 6 hours from where we live here in Florida – his parts receiving facility in Atlanta was where he got his parts from and they did not have the part, a brake light component. In the meantime someone at the dealership told my wife that the problem with the push button ignition is endemic to Kia Sorentos, and they are trying to fix the Sorentos rolling off the line in Georgia with this problem now before they hit the public! So much for the security of buying a Korean car made in the USA. I told this to the local General Manager and his comment was that sounds like a story from the trenches, Ill check into it(!). The rental car we were given was a Ford fusion, low to the ground, which my wife cannot drive because she has a hip replacement. I told the General Manager this and he said he would have someone call the rental car agency to switch us out to something that rode higher. This was 2 days ago. That afternoon, the Service Manager Joe called and said he was trying to get us into another rental.I got tired of waiting for anyone to help us and 24 hours ago went to the rental car place and got put into another rental within 15 minutes of stopping by their office. I called the Service Manager after I left in the new rental and his sad story was he was still working on trying to find me another rental. I told him it would be nice if he would just call me daily with an update on the repair and the needed part. He said he would (this was at 3:30 PM yesterday). As of today at 1:30PM he has not called or left a message. Oh yeah, and when I called him earlier over 2 weeks ago, I was told I just got in. I have no idea what the status of your car is! This was at 7:35 AM (they open at 7:30AM) after no calls had been made to us the entire preceding day. Gee, sorry to distract you from chomping into that creme-filled doughnut buddy! As soon as we get this car back, if we ever do, I am running to replace it with a reliable Honda. If not repairable after 30 days I will be seeking an attorney to sue the company and the dealership for breach of warranties and fraud, under the Florida Lemon Law Act and any other cause of action that fits. Stay tuned.

I purchased the Kia about 1 1/2 years ago. I have 48000 miles on it. Last week it started blowing white smoke out of the tailpipe. I checked the oil, which was fine, and then called and made an appointment at the dealership since it is under warranty. I took it in yesterday only to be told that the engine was ready to blow. I thought my day couldnt get any worse until the Kia rep told me that I needed to gather up all of my receipts and that of all maintenance reports on my vehicle. It would then be submitted to Kia to see if it met their approval for their warranty. This would have been fine except for the fact that the service person told me that if I ever went over 3500 miles in between changes they would decline the warranty. I have completed oil changes at home and the service person said that would be fine except that I have to prove that it was for the Kia. Now, there was no indicator light that ever came on in this vehicle. I have faithfully changed or had changed my oil and again NO INDICATOR light came on that anything was wrong. Basically I was told good luck in getting it fixed. I have read the other complaints and it seems like I am not the only one. I owe 26000.00 on this vehicle and they said that if (when) Kia declines the work then they will be happy to replace my engine for the price of $5000.00-$6000.00. Even if I didnt complete the oil changes that I did a BRAND NEW car should not have a blown engine in 48000 miles. After speaking with their rep it was made very clear to me that they are going to decline anything that I give them. When I asked about it being a Kia issue that the indicator lights werent on I was told Well I dont know why they didnt come on and Slug in the tank means oil leak I stated to the rep that if the seals leaked because of a problem with their motor that would also cause slug in tank too right? The guy told me You would have to prove that. I will never buy another Kia. Their warranty sounds good but is full of loopholes to make a customer believe that they are getting amazing coverage when what it really is is a way to screw people out their money, their car, and their wellbeing.

The doors have been stuck open several times, which really sort of puts a damper on long trips. It is a severe safety issue. I have manual doors, and we have it towed when this happens. But they insist there was no latch issue, even though weve had multiple failings. (Our neighbor with power doors has had them open sporadically while traveling 70 mph with kids in the back!)Further, I have to change the headlights (both, and both high/low beams) quarterly, because the alternator doesnt regulate the voltage well and you can actually see the lights getting brighter/dimmer. They blow out fast, and I have been stopped by police no less than six times (three with fix-it tickets where I have to take it back in the next day and show them its been fixed).I also had to pay for new power steering hoses because of squeaking. Fairly costly. The latest is my breaks slip regularly, and ABS is not covered under not a warranty repair. Why brag up ABS if the brakes dont work at all? ?

Nov. to next Jan. is a good time for car buying, since automakers will put more incentive/rebates on new cars. But not every brand is honest with customers. In particular, as a recent buyer with PAINFUL experience, I recommend: stay away from KIA, if you look for non-cheating rebates. This is based on my painful car buying experience from KIA (it is not dealers issue, but just KIAs issue). To summarize the experience, I felt I was unfairly treated, discriminated or even insulted by KIA, who in the end took away rebate written in the car contract that I signed 3 weeks ago. Basically, the car I have already put >500 miles, But then KIA told me that I am suddenly not qualified for their rebate and I should come back to pay more). My detailed story was below. (I will post this to major auto websites to help buyers avoid painful experience of mine. Any question, please email me at **).I signed the contract and obtained a new KIA Niro 2017 on 11/24/2017 (Black Friday), attracted by low price with KIA rebate. I am a recent grad, with diploma dated on 09/2016, during that time I was with my F1 student visa (this matters). After graduation, I obtained EAD (employment authorization card granted by US government) and worked in the same university I studied. Basically, I have a work permit to be employed and my contract is annually signed due to nature of research task. ( this matters for KIA). My credit score ~790, with annual salary > 70K. With those info. I was qualified for KIA rebate (1000 dollar) and final price of the car is around 24K, checked by KIA and KIA dealer before we signed contract. I put 10K as down payment, leaving 14K as 4-years auto loan with KIA per rebates policy.I thought everything should work as the signed contract. However, from Dec. 4 the dealer contacted me for my visa and EAD, per KIAs requirement. I feel strange but I try to work with them so I send out my F1 visa and current EAD (C09 category) that my employer has on file. I even emailed my position/annual pay from HR, and leave contact of my employer HR so that they can verify files. Now KIA finance begins to send ridiculous statements like: Contract Returned (Unable to accept Employment Auth Card, Must have Visa) 1. Visa submitted expired 10.03.2014 - Not valid... acceptable visas H-1B, H-1B1, L-1, TN, O1, E1, E2, E3 2. We will need employer letter stating they will request reinstatement due to applicants Visa expired 10/3/2014.There are two hidden rules or tricks from KIA that they can not give me rebate: KIA does not accept my Employment Auth Card (EAD). They keep looking at my expired F1-visa but ignore my current EAD. They want me to have a visa in THEIR list, which is only a small portion of valid EAD from the US governments. (https://save.uscis.gov/web/media/resourcesContents/EAD_Code_Table.pdf). I wonder, if US government grants me EAD for work and I indeed got employed with a good salary (70K annually for 14K loan in 4 years), then Kias policy is a discrimination. Moreover, Kia is also ignorant, as visa does not mean you could work legally (like F-1 ), instead EAD is standard work permit. I and my employer felt very sad when KIA keep asking us valid visa and ignore my EAD.KIA could not finance with me under 4 years, as my current employer only sign a one-year contact. I need to have a employment with a 4-year contract from CURRENT employer AND 4-year valid visa (they do not say EAD). This is truly ridiculous. If 4-year finance requires: 4-year employment contract with the same current company, who can be qualified, given the uncertainty of many jobs? Dealer and I tried to satisfy this unfair KIAs requirement. After talking with KIA (from dealer), one way for me is to bug my HR +boss to write a letter stating that: they have a good intention to hire me for 4 years.I did that and my HR finally agreed to work on this. However, I was later told that even with the letter I still can not have the rebate, because my EAD (KIA always asked visa) was unaccepted, and I need to reinstate a 4-year valid visa in KIAs list by me or my employer. I felt truly insulted as KIA implied that they did not consider my employment as normal or even legal. My HR felt very unhappy, and asked me to leave KIA, why not choose other brand, like HONDA?. Unfortunately, I did not have choice since I drove the car for 3 weeks, returning the car will be very unfair/impossible to dealer. In the meantime, I tried to get KIA finance contact and talked to them directly. From the dealer, I got number and called KIA finance: 1866-337-5632. After reporting my case number: **, I was told that KIA finance would not talk with me directly, and they asked me to contact dealer. They just ignore my request. In the end, I and dealer have to take care about the extra money due to the loss of KIA rebate. I, dealer, even my employer, all harmed and felt this is unfair from KIA. I feel I am discriminated or insulted from the whole process. KIAs hidden rules on the rebate was a cheating and dishonest trick on customer or even KIA dealership. If one seeks honest rebate/incentive, stay away from KIA, and look at other brands (there are so many). If you insist on KIA, think about their two after-contract hidden rules/traps (that is after your employment/salary + credit score satisfies and contracted was signed) that I encountered: 4-year finance? OK, then do you have proof of 4-years of employment from your current job? Working on visa/EAD? OK, do you have current 4-year valid visa (not EAD) that must be in KIAs list? Other conditions (waiting to see other customers posting...)? Feel free to forward my experience to other potential autobuyers so that they do not have to experience I experienced.

I just bought a 2012 Kia Sorento in February. It started giving me problems. It stopped all of a sudden when I stopped in a stop sign and the engine was shut off. Two days ago, I was about to drive to work and when I went to the garage and sat in the van, it started but the gear wouldnt move as it was locked. I called the dealer and they told me to call the tow truck and get it towed to the dealership. They towed the van to the dealer, and the next day the guy from the service department called. This dealer is located in Avalon Blvd in Carson. He told me that both the engine and the computer are full of water like a swimming pool. How? I just took the car to the drive-through car wash a few times since I bought it. They told me that the warranty does not cover and I have to pay $1600 to get it fixed. When we first bought the car they lied to us that anything doesnt matter - big or small issues, the warranty is going to cover - and now they dont want to cover. I will never ever recommend anyone to Kia Carson or any other Kia dealer. It’s a bad experience that I have ever had.

I noticed about a year ago that my backseats were wet. I thought my child spilled water. However, they were really wet again about three weeks ago. Within the next couple of days the floorboards were soaked. It has rained a lot lately. Someone rarely sits back there so no telling how long this has been going on. I called the dealer and made an appointment on Friday for Monday morning. I was told I would need to pay an evaluation fee of $125.00. I have read that this is a problem with this car and other Fortes. They said it was the seal in the tail lights. Of course not covered by the warranty. They have replaced my tail lights in the past. How do I know that they did not cause this when they changed them. My car is so wet it fogs up and ice is on the windows in the mornings. They replaced the seals and sent me on my way ($230.00). I got home and noticed that the tire well (with no spare tire) was full of water. I cannot get this water out of my car. Also realized that my back windows will not roll down. I have done regular maintenance on this car at the dealer since I purchased it. You would have thought they would have noticed this when they do their inspections or when they changed the bulbs. I think they knew this was a problem with these cars. They should have done a recall or at least tell you they need to be replaced after a couple of years. Now my car is ruined and I will never get this mold out of my car. I purchased this car in April of 2013 (almost six years ago). While I was waiting for my car to get finished they had a salesman trying to get me to buy another car. He was trying to say that the sun caused the seals to go bad. Dont know what makes them think I would buy another Kia ever after this. I took it back to the dealer that night asking for suggestion on how to get all this dripping water out of my car. The back seats of rust stains now from the water. The trunk is growing mold under the carpet and on the well hole. They are suppose to call me back today. I have not heard a thing from them. They should have paid for this to be fixed. Had I brought it in the first time it would have been still under the warranty. I have been a loyal customer. I have replaced my tires twice there (which the first set went bad right after the warranty was out on them too). I have the weather mats in the car and in the trunk. I am in the trunk a lot. The mat was never wet. I had no reason to pull it up and look in and see that everything under it was wet and moldy. I did notice a mildew smell a few times in the car. A coworker asked me about a month ago if I had had any real problems with my car. If I had known about this I would have told him to stay away from Kia. I paid cash for this car and cannot afford to make payment on another one but if and when I can, IT WILL NOT BE A KIA. Shame on you Kia!!! I have seen several post about this problem on different websites. You know this is a problem and have done nothing about it.

This complaint is specific to Kia Motors Egypt. The vehicle, a 2010 model Cerato, rolled over 4 times and the airbags failed to deploy. The real tire on the passenger side burst, causing the above to occur. Kias website states the following: Ceratos standard safety protection includes dual front and side airbags, plus full length side curtain airbags to enhance the safety of driver and passenger side occupants in the event of a side impact or rollover. A Kia employee, whose name I shall not reveal, stated the following in a response: Kindly be informed that referring to your accident description and the photos you sent, the car rolled over without front impact. The front airbag system doesnt work in rollover accidents as you mentioned. The front airbag system was designed to work in the frontal accidents depending on the front impact circumstances. Kindly refer to the owners manual for non-working cases of front airbag system.

Thinking it was normal warranty work, I went to Pence KIA to get my 2010 Kia Soul (with a little over 30,000 miles) have its rear wiper motor looked at for a grinding noise it was making. I was told that it was an adjustment and lubrication issue and is not warranty covered. KIA installed a motor on the car with admitted insufficient grease inside the motor and would be deemed a defective manufacturing issue. Now, they do not want to honor their obligation under their warranty saying it is an adjustment and lubrication issue, which I need to pay for. Below is the TBS issued by KIA where they admit to insufficient grease inside the wiper motor.“Visibility: rear window wiper/washer: Kia: service action - rear wiper squeal noise repair (sa026). Provides information relating to some vehicles that may experience a rear wiper squeal noise when operating. This concern is due to insufficient grease inside the rear wiper motor. 2010 Kia Soul Technical Service Bulletin 2010/01/01 NHTSA #: 10033669, Service Bulletin #: TSB-054.”

I have a 2015 Kia K 900. It was 8 months since I purchased from Kia Escondido, I had about 5k miles on it when I was hit on the driver side at the rear quarter panel/back passenger door. I was pushed into a center divide and my entire front Qtr Panel and front end was demolished. NOT 1 AIRBAG DEPLOYED!! I called Kia and their engineers went out to study/test/read the circuit board to get all logistics at time of impact. They went to investigate the car more than once (car was at the auto body shop) and Kia would not release the car to been inspected by my Mercury Insurance to assess damage. The car sat at Tag Collision center for 51 days before they let Mercury assess the damage. The car was totaled out by Mercury and the engineers from Kia said that the airbags did not deploy because there were not enough factors involved for them to deploy. I personally was more concerned that considering where and how I was hit that if I had passengers in the back seat that there would have been skulls hitting the door window (place of impact). I figured that Kia would want to know in case they needed to do a recall on the K 900s to protect lives in future accidents. Kia did not allow me to see the report or tell me exactly what factors were involved to as why the airbags did not deploy. But the whole thing raised a red flag when they kept telling Mercury that the car was not ready to be inspected??? Im just a puzzled and concerned consumer who received no answers but instead a big storage bill from Tag Collision, no thanks to Kias control of when Mercury Insurance could do their job in a timely manner. Kia offered to sell me another K 900 but I just cant considering I would not feel safe or maybe be as lucky to escape injury if I were to get into another accident where if the airbags did not deploy and was extremely hurt instead of protected. This is for Kia to take notice and for there to be a record that Kia not only knew of this airbag situation but that there was an investigation done and a report on file (just in case there are future issues with consumers regarding this topic).

The KIA Soul is advertised to get 27-34 miles per gallon. I have owned my Soul for 2 months and have logged just under 3000 miles. I have it on the Economy Mode and am conservative about how I drive. But Im only averaging 23-25 miles per gallon. I drive to different locations, usually a 70-80 mile round trip, at least 50 miles of which is freeway. Needless to say, Im very disappointed with the mileage. Its not even hitting the low end of 27, and its nowhere near the expected highway mileage of 34 mpg.Now onto a totally different subject, the Mr. Sandman commercial. Sheesh. They objectify women and men. They show beautiful sexy women and big burly muscled men in super macho endeavors like sawing logs and fighting. So? Back to a real problem. My mileage isnt what the TV commercials or the window sticker represent. The only reason I was even looking at a new car was to increase my mileage - by at least 10 mpg - from my beloved Pontiac Aztek, which averages 20 mpg. Anyone else have this mileage shortfall with the KIA Soul?

For two days my new vehicle with only 23000 miles was having trouble starting. The second day was a Saturday. Since this happened to me after 5pm on a Saturday there was no one at the service department. I spoke with an operator who had NO IDEA how to help me or who to direct me to. Frustrated, she directed me the 24 hour road side assistance. I called them and they too were unhelpful. They told me the only thing they could do was tow my vehicle. I said, My vehicle is running at the moment, so where would you tow it to? I asked if road side assistance could come check my battery and was told NO, the ONLY thing they can do is tow your vehicle. Since that would be of no help, I drove to an auto zone. Within 2 minutes a representative from their store was helping me and CHECKED THE BATTERY, which was DEAD. Having no choice but to replace the battery AND no assistance from ANYONE AT KIA, I had to purchase one from AUTO ZONE. Once home, I learned the battery is covered under warranty. Auto Zone would not take the battery back as it had already been put in. I was told that you might be willing to offer the customer service I did not receive in the beginning by refunding the money I spend on a battery. I called my customer service representative and he told me his hands were tied. What kind of service is this? Does KIA care more about $119 than customer service?!? I bought a KIA thinking that the customer service and vehicle would be better than those I have had in the past. So far, I am not thrilled with my purchase.

My husband was driving to town this past Sat. He lost control of the steering and brakes. We had a mechanic take a look. The crankshaft bolt broke and the pin sheared off. So we have had this Kia for 10 months. Paid almost $13,000 for it. It had 68,000 miles. It has almost 79,000 now. The mechanic said that the pin should have lasted the life of the Kia. So I go to a United States Government web site and am horrified. There are 5 recalls, and 12 suggested service calls for repair of parts that should last the life of the vehicle. Some of the repairs state that this default could cause serious accidents. Then on further investigation I find out there is a civil suit against Kia. There are 1,000s of people experiencing this problem. The real problem is that the gear behind the harmonic stabilizer was engineered wrong. Its too heavy. So even if you get the crankshaft pin replaced it happens again. The Govt. site is Odi.nhtsa.gov and I also found info at other credited web site and by reading the class action suit, Robinson et al v. Kia Motors Inc et al., case # 13-cv-00006 US District Court, type that into the tool bar. I have tried to contact Kia at 1800-333-4542, 1800-225-3193. I have emailed Greg **, Director of Regional Affairs at ** and Kia USA. My Kia is not safe to drive. It is alleged that Kia has known about these engineering defects for a long time. Its a lot to digest. I am heartbroken and with no funds to repair this Kia. I pay for a Kia Sorento that is unsafe to drive. When the crankshaft pin broke, it did damage to the belts, harmonic balancer, gear behind harmonic balancer. The cotter pin that sheared off as well, the oil pan seal. Wow, but I feel fortunate that no one was physically hurt. Maybe Consumer Affairs should do an article about this. 1,000s of Consumers are affected. Will it take fatalities for someone to address this?

I have a 2014 Kia with 130,000 highway miles. It is now using oil. In the 50+ years I have owned vehicles I have never had one that used oil. At 86,000 miles it needed rear calipers because they were rusted on. Four mechanics told me this was not normal. This car is either on the highway or in a dry garage. I took my Soul to Kia due to a screeching noise in the front while braking thinking there may be a stone stuck in the pad. Come to find out the rotors had rusted in the front only to the point that they were pitted. I bought the car a few months prior from an independent dealer and the Kia dealer said that the car must have sat for a while but they were not sure. Thus is just conjecture on their part. They said the rotors were not covered because the warranty does not cover rust. They recommended that I call Kia corporate and see if they will make an exception. I called and was treated poorly by Robin, a supervisor, but after an exercise in patience she agreed to escalate the issue to the district service manager. It has been 3 working days and I am still waiting to hear back from them. I had to take it back so they could get pictures of the rotors over the weekend. The funny thing is that rotors on the rear are fine which makes no sense unless poor rotor quality or substandard design with the front brake system. The service department says that the district service manager will likely approve it but it can take another day or two and it will take more time to get the parts in. Meanwhile I am driving a car that the front brakes sound terrible and I feel unsafe driving. Very poor customer service and quality.

My car has 52k miles and for some reason, the engine light came on one morning. I was driving to work and I was only a few blocks away from home so I return and asked my roommate if I can use his car to go to work while I take my KIA to the KIA service department. When I picked up my car, they told me the cars computer just needed an upgrade. I thought it was weird but I was happy it wasnt something worse. I automatically noticed a huge, I mean huge, drop in mpg. I bought the car because it was supposed to be good on mileage, otherwise I would have bought a Prius which was my other choice. I took it back the next day and they checked it and they said that they found nothing wrong. I was really upset. They gave me a pamphlet that I should read to show me how to get better gas mileage; I was really pissed. I know how to get the best gas mileage out of my car and I do regular oil changes using synthetic - nothing but the best and regular air filter changes everything. I went from getting between 33-37 mpg to 25-28. I am a very upset KIA own. I dont know what else to do.

Im being forced into getting a car loan. First off I was okay with the deal and signed the contract you know traditional deal I drove home. I got a letter in the mail stating I had to return it at their expense. I was all up for it since I felt they lied on the terms of the contract to me verbally. So they instead told me to come in to sign a 2nd contract, I refused to and they pushed to get the first contract financed. This was after I left the car there and had told them I did not want this deal and their business anymore. I went back and forth between the dealership Rally Kia in Palmdale, Kia consumer affairs, and Kia financial trying to get this straightened out but they were persistent on making me take all the blame.

So I was driving my car for a errand for my job and I reach my destination which is less than 10 mins from my job. I get back in the car, put it in reverse and the car will not move. I called for roadside, they were wonderful. The wait was a bit long but understandable since it was a Friday. But once I arrive at Braman Kia it was a disaster from there. I arrived Sat 7:55 p.m and they were closing instead of someone saying, Maam we are closing, everyone just rudely walks right past me and cuts off lights and etc. So I leave the car and pass by today to only be told that theres no techs today and that I cant be giving a loaner or told anything until the car is checked and they dont know if it will be checked today. Like seriously how can you not have a tech available, that they only have students today? Like seriously so what happens to your customer? They are just stuck with no means of transportation.

I have received my 2nd safety recall on my 2010 KIA Soul which I bought brand new at Terry Reid KIA in Cartersville, GA. I had to relocate to Green Valley, AZ in 7/13 to come under the treatment of a highly specialized physician after becoming extremely ill as I was unknowingly put into a hazardous toxic mold environment at a resort which we eventually found behind all the wallpapered areas -- this facility had been infested with this toxic molds, come to find out, for years with no action being taken. I am now multi-chemically sensitive and cannot be in any dealerships where there are smells and odors as it will complicate my situation even further. I was just directly exposed to poisonous pesticides at my complex as management did not put up advance warnings as to when these would be used around my building and have been extremely ill as a result. I have a KIA Soul which must be repaired and am unable to get it to the closest dealership (over 1 hr one-way from me) due to my health conditions, and this will take at least 3 hours to repair. I have emailed KIA Consumer Services to get my car towed into Jim Click KIA in Tucson to get this unsafe situation fixed. I would have to stay with my vehicle in an environment that I cannot be in as this is being repaired; no one to pick me up here, etc. So, we will wait and see what KIA will do to help me with this dilemma.

To start things off, I just want to say that I WILL NEVER purchase another
To start things off, I just want to say that I WILL NEVER purchase another Kia. Back in November of 2019, I hit a deer and had to have somebody work done at my local body shop. When that was completed, I had to take it to Kia of Lincoln, NE to have the new module that was put in by the body shop reprogrammed. What was supposed to be a simple fix, Kia of Lincoln ended up having my vehicle for almost a month and a half. They also had to fly a tech in from another state to figure out what was wrong with it and why the codes wouldnt clear. They hardly ever communicated with me on what was going on and when Id call in to get an update, they would have to call me back or say that they were still trying to figure out the problem. When I finally got it back, it seemed to function as it should. However, that didnt last long though. There was a several times where I would have sensor lights come on and the vehicle would act up. The most recent occurrence was when I was driving home from work and a bunch of sensor lights came on, my cruise control quit working and I had to pull over on the side of the interstate. I ended up having to shut my vehicle off and when I started it back up, it wouldnt shift out of park. I had to have it towed to a Kia dealership in Grand Island, NE the following day to see if they could diagnose the problem. They werent able to duplicate the vehicle not being able to shift out of park, but they did find that the module that was supposed to be reprogrammed when Kia of Lincoln had it, was never done correctly. This is why the sensor lights kept coming on. I ended up having a bill that I was told that I was responsible for since the issue was not covered under warranty due to it being related to the accident. I reached out to the dealership in Lincoln several times and they basically told me that they did everything correctly and that there wasnt anything else that they could do. This is when I decided to contact Kia Consumer Services to see if they could help me out. I explained what was going on to them and was told that Id get a call back the next day. A few days passed by and I still hadnt heard anything. I ended up calling back a little over a week later to find out that my case had been turned over to someone else. No one bothered to let me know once again. I reached out to them again a few days later to get some answers and was told by the person that I spoke with that it wasnt their problem, so I needed to contact my insurance company I had at the time of the accident. He also hung up on me after he proceeded to say that he wasnt going to argue with me. So, I contacted them see if they would help me out. I finally received an answer back and they agreed to cover the bill after they had already paid for the vehicle to be fixed correctly the first time when Kia of Lincoln had it. I think the part that irritates me the most is, the dealership that didnt fix it correctly the first time wouldnt even help me out and they are the same dealership that I purchased my vehicle from. Its going on a month now and Im still without my vehicle. Ive had to drive other peoples to get to and from when this could of easily been taken care of within a matter of a few days.

This has been the WORST experience I have EVER had. I went through USAA to buyout my Kia from a lease. Two months later I start getting collections calls saying Im two months behind because Indiana is a dealer only state, and not only was I never informed, records indicate that Kia CASHED the check from USAA. They claim they issued a refund check to USAA but a week later, USAA still doesnt have it. Now I am paying two car loans, both of which are accruing interest. THIS IS ILLEGAL!

In October 2011, I purchased a new 2012 Kia Soul. Within the year, I began to hear a knocking sound in my engine. On each maintenance visit, Id bring up this issue and was told they were unable to confirm the knocking sound. Fast forward to 06/24/2017, I get this loud noise on a cold start from my vehicle. Again, I take it to a Kia dealership. After years of trying to get someone to acknowledge the knocking sound, the dealership acknowledges it and states the noise is coming from the valve train and that Ill need a new engine. Dealership contacts Kia but Kia denies my warranty claim because the knocking sound isnt loud enough. Im the original owner of the vehicle with 88,500 miles so I dont have much time left before Im no longer eligible for the warranty. The dealership tells me that Ill have to contact Kias 800 number if I want to dispute the findings and obtain approval to proceed with the warranty work for the engine. My husband makes an initial call to the 800 number and after 30 minutes of arguing is told nothing can be done and thats the end of it. No case was opened or referred for further review. I then place my call. I am calm and collective and explain the issue Im having and get referred to a case manager by the name of Hei. I, again, go through the pain of explaining my issue. Initially she states that Kia would not have denied the claim because its covered under warranty. With this knowledge, I inquire to find out how were able to forward the approval over to the dealership so that they can begin the repairs on my work and provide me with a rental. She then tells me that my car is not under any recalls. Now Im just dumbfounded because nowhere in our conversation did I ever state I was there for a recall. The case manager then proceeds to tell me that she has nothing on file regarding my issue and will need to contact the dealer and provides me with a 2-3 business day turnaround. I explain that this is an ongoing issue and I have a 10.5 hr trip coming up and I need this resolved sooner. She then tries to tell me that she has to contact the dealer because the dealer hasnt reached out to Kia. This is when my frustration begins to set in. Now Ive been going around in circles for about 30 minutes and she hasnt heard any of what my complaint is. I reiterate our conversation and then she becomes hostile. Im frustrated and ask for a manager. Im then told I cant speak to a manager! I said Look, Im not getting any form of resolution and this is what I was sent to you for. Id like to speak to a manager. She then tells me I dont know you! I need to talk to the dealer. I said Thats fine, what I dont understand is why they cant be contacted right now? After requesting to be conferenced in with the dealer, the case manager felt I was going around in circles and informs me shes going to disconnect me, and she did. My case manager hung up on me with no offer to resolve my issue or follow up. About 2 hours later, I contact the 800 number again. I explain my situation, again, and kindly request to speak to a manager at this point due to the conversations that took place earlier that morning. The rep tried to review my situation and then begins the same vicious cycle that took place earlier that morning. Theres an obvious miscommunication issue and a lack of acknowledgement on Kias side. All Im asking for is to speak to someone who can actually do something to get the authorization out to the dealership so they can begin the repairs. When we finally hit a stopping point, the rep finally gives in and provides me with the name and extension number for a manager who conveniently isnt available. I leave a message and request a call back because Ive already spent over an hour and a half combined on these calls with Kia. Its been about 4 hours and I have not received a call back. Kia is avoiding the issue. Its been confirmed I need an engine replacement. They want to wait until the engine basically explodes is what Im gathering. When it does, theres a very good chance Ill be out of warranty. They dont care if my engine dies on my venture or if my family will be put at risk because my vehicles been disabled and Im literally stuck in the middle of the road, exposed to other drivers who may not be aware and smack right into us. Then what? Its ridiculous that I have to resort to this. I will file a suit in court if needed to get this issue resolved.

My 21 year old gr-daughter bought this brand new Kia. Put $4,000 down, financed $19,000. Car started to accelerate. Took it back to Monroeville Kia. They kept it from July 5th till middle of August. No rental car, nothing and insisted there is nothing wrong with it. Kara **, my granddaughter, was so afraid to drive it again as she was almost in accident and said take it back 1500 miles on it. After weeks of trying everything she had to settle for $17,000. A loss of more than $6,000. How can a dealership account for doing that to a 21 year old?? That is how Monroeville Kia treated a young girl who saved her money for a new car. Shame on them!!!!!!!!!!

The service guy tells me that it is not covered on the warranty and that it will be around 900 to fix... The strange part is... that I looked online for my own part, and I found a forum where there are almost 100 complaints of a phantom rock hitting condensers all over the US. I talked to the General Manager and I talked with corporate and there was nothing that could be done on their part... My lawyer will now have to take matters into his own hands.

Was told I need to let more fresh air in and not use the air circulating button so much. I got online and consumers from 2010 are complaining about the same problem. So we are breathing MOLD? Why did my valve stem for my 2010 Kia Soul break? This will cost me $200.00
Why did my valve stem for my 2010 Kia Soul break? This will cost me $200.00 to replace. I love driving my little Kia. I was told Montgomery Kia/Chevrolet Preston Hwy Louisville KY personnel that, it is not covered under bumper to bumper warranty. They said that it is manufacturing defect and it was not broken by them. The stem is not covered by the warranty. A reason why it broke is that a long stem air hose chuck was used to replace the air. Individuals wiggling the long extension air chuck can bend and break off the computerized air valve. I believe in keeping good air pressure in my tires saves gas and tire wear. I believe that whether I had used or service attendant had used a shorted air stem chuck on this valve stem to this tire. It still would have broken off. And when the air hose extension chuck used on this tire, air hose was removed for air stem of this tire, the stem came with the extension chuck. This tire on the driver side front has several times registered air pressure was low on my dash lights the last six months. The tires on vehicles sometime lose air pressure. The weather changes from normal temperatures to lower cold temperatures.I was told by one of Montgomery Kia technicians that this is manufacturing defect of the company that makes this computerized valve air stem. While I was making an appointment with the dealership to replace the defective stem, the air stem on this tire had lost air pressure while my Kia Soul was in motion on the highway. This would be considered a blow out. As my Kia Soul was sitting still, the tire went flat immediately.I have very good records of service done on my Kia, which all recommends service checks have been done at Montgomery Kia. The manufacture defective valve stem broke and deflated at car service station. I had them replace the air stem with regular valve stem, which since 2008 most vehicles have this feature letting you know when tire pressure is low. This is a very good feature on my Kia. By the way, if anyone has a Hyundai 2008-2012, you have the same computerized valve stems in your tires like mine. Valve stem on a tire before 2008, you basically had to rip up the metal rim of a tire or unscrew the core of valve stem out for a tire to go flat, not because the valve stems were manufactured with defect parts. The computerized valve stem to me has alloyed (metal) fatigued. I believe in safe lighter vehicles, but you need dependable tires, rims and valve stems on the vehicles. If your engine blow-up, you will come to a rolling stop. If your computerized valve stems break on one your tires, you may be in an accident. If this manufacturing defect from a company that produced this computerized valve stem to me, should this be a recall from Kia. How many vehicles that are on the road that this company manufacturing defective computerized valve stems? How many Fords, Chevrolets, Hondas, Toyotas and Kia on the road today?

So we purchased our Kia Optima Hybrid in 2016. We thought it will be more economical because it would save us money on gas. Well it did but a few months ago our battery died, had to replace that $400!!! Then the Hydraulic Unit had to be replaced spending a good total of $4000 with parts and labor. Now the car is back at the dealer. This time the engine got messed up... We have been given an estimate of $9000 to fix. The warranty we purchased from the dealership only covers $7000 so the rest we have to pay out of pocket... Like WTH. Why? We have been using a rental during this time and still no solution. I swear never again. If youre a 1st owner of the car you might have better luck in getting the car fixed with no issues - unfortunately for us we are second owners so we are screwed. SO DISAPPOINTED.

Firstly, let me start off by saying this is in regards to the Kendall Kia located in Miami, FL. I was initially greeted by Anika, salesperson, who is a great girl with lots of sales potential. Eventually, I left the dealership in my new 2012 Kia Soul. One (1) month later, I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner, Mr. Rod Rifai, after being unsuccessful at receiving a call back from any available sales representative. That conversation was trying, to say the least. My question for Mr. Rifai was when could I expect to receive my tag, as my temporary tag was expiring the following day. Somehow, that simple question turned into a screaming match between the two of us. He attempted to insult my intelligence throughout the entire conversation. I had to raise my voice just to be heard over his tirade and this was from the owner of the dealership. At the end of the conversation, I was promised that following Monday that Mr. Rifai would personally investigate the delay with my tag and get back to me. To date, I have yet to receive my tag or a follow-up call from Mr. Rifai and I am now on my second temporary tag. For obvious reasons, I will never recommend this dealership to anyone after my experience with the owner. He should not be in the business of customer service and, in my personal opinion, a hospitality class would do him wonders.

My 2.4 liter engine is part of a recall of over 1.5 Million cars. Well, my VIN number is not on this list!!! My engine blow for exactly what the recall is for... premature bearing wear causes the engine to throw a rod! Kia says its not covered because I am the second owner, the car has 89,000 miles on it and would have been covered if I was the original owner! THATS NOT THE POINT. This engine was recalled for this problem. End of story! But, NO mine is a Hybrid and they arent a MODEL that was under the recall! Its the same 2.4 liter engine! I have talked to customer service, they sent me to the ESCALATION department. They said its not on the recall list and isnt under warranty. So, now my car has been at Kemper Kia of Bridgewater New Jersey for 3 weeks. Have talked to a very reputable engine repair shop. They told me this is often how they let bad news out about recalls, a few models at a time. I cant wait for them to actually put my car on the list. This really sucks and so does KIA for not covering this AT ALL!!!!

To understand this KIA dealership in Burton UK, I need to back up a bit. I saw a car on the internet and arranged to view it. On the agreed day I checked to make sure that he car was still available and they said yes. I set off by train from Coventry UK. I had to change at Birmingham UK to catch a train to Burton. At Birmingham I got a call to say that the car has been sold. This sets the background to my subsequent dealings with KIA in Burton. They apologized and promised to let me have first look at another car. (With hindsight, I should have declined.)I did look at another car, the salesman told me that the car had had only one previous owner who gave up the car because he had epilepsy. We negotiated and agreed on a price based on what I had seen of the car and what I was told. He told me that (1) the car will be checked over and serviced (2) I will have two year free service in 2015 and 2016. When I received my V5C form from DVLA, it had two previous owners. I sent a text on 17/11/14 to the salesman and he did not reply to my query that he told me the car had only one previous owner from October 63. He did not reply. One morning as I was driving along the road I found that my windscreen washer had frozen. The temperature was barely -1 deg Celsius. When it thawed, I noticed that instead of the normal windscreen solution, it was pure water. Alarm bells started ringing. I checked the Service book and it was not stamped. I then wondered why the boot light has never come on.I wrote with a list of complaints to the CEO of KIA including that the car had not been serviced. My complaint was passed on to the customer services department saying that the garage was only obliged to top up the windscreen washer (with water by implication) and not to introduce a solution that lowered the freezing temperature of the windscreen washer. I found that astonishing. On the question of previous owners, because I had no documentary or audio evidence to support what I claimed was the gist of the conversation, that was dismissed. Apparently the bulb in the boot and had burnt out from use... by whom I wondered? They asked me to return the service book so that they will stamp it. I refused. I asked whether the two year verbal agreement on servicing the car still holds. No reply. I am intending to send it for servicing and bill the garage and if they refuse to pay, Ill try the small claims court. I paid for the car based on the information given to me which they deny. What should I do? Can I ask for my money back or reach some form of compromise? I also tend to write to KIA in Korea to complain. I suggested to the customer services that the point that the service book was not stamped is evidence that it was not serviced. There was no counter argument. The scan of the service document carried out had no page number so it could have been written any time. What can/shall I do? Anyone have the address of KIA in Korea?

I took my car in 2 months ago. My speedometer had stopped working, was consistently reading 0. In addition my passenger side blinker wasnt working. Also my seat belt had frayed. They checked into it, sent it home with me that day, said the computer didnt see anything wrong with the speedometer so it must be the cluster. We will order one in with your seat belt. 1 week later I received a phone call. My seat belt was in. I didnt want to lose my car twice so I said I would bring it in when the cluster was in too and was told she would get back to me. One month later I take my car in and ask about the cluster. Ive been driving without a speedometer too long. Turns out they needed my car in the shop to ship current cluster away, would have been nice to know! So it took 2-3 days, the rental was great and they said come pick up your car. Its fixed. They changed 3 light bulbs apparently, only the one signal was out though. And it cut in and out so I didnt figure bulbs did that but whatever. And the cluster was changed. I love how no one tested it!!! I was doing 0 on the Hwy home and called them to say its still doing 0 and my blinkers not working. So I had to go back the next day. They said they would look into it and call me. I asked for by 3:30 cause I had to pick up my kids with it or a car. At 3:30 the masters of communication at performance Kia had not yet called so once again I had to call them. A poor lady answered said they need my car to figure it out and the guy had already put me down for a rental. Thanks for telling me. Also thanks for not verifying with enterprise that they had a car. Wound up going through national, once again their customer service was great! Loved the rental. And had it not been for the people at national leaving me a voicemail and text message, I would not have known my car was ready for pick up. And if I got there any later than 4 Id have to pay that day myself (this message was at 2). I realized later I had one single missed call from Kia at 1:02 and no message was left and I dont have my phone on me but was consistently checking my messages! I had to cancel my appointment that is necessary for me to attend every two weeks to have time to get there. I get there they tell my speedometer had stopped working because of my accident. This accident they keep telling me about is me banging up my bumper on a snow bank 1 month after I got the car 2.5 years ago. So tell me how my speedometer runs off my bumper! My ex is a mechanic there is no way that could happen. They are attempting to cover their butts for their faulty wiring after they went through various parts and clusters. Needless to say once more they have sent me home with an unsafe car that they told me was safe and driveable!!! Due to their inability to navigate their own electrical system I now have absolutely no lights on my front driver side (Fog blinker and headlight all out completely illegal!! And it was fine when I brought it there.) and my passenger front blinker is still out. The customer service manager was rude and its impossible to communicate with ** who make it seem like theres never a problem and if it is its your own fault. Currently awaiting Kia Canadas call back because they can have it towed in because Im not getting in an accident because they continuously test life and ability to not get ticketed through their inability to do their jobs and test stuff before they send it home. :( Im just sick of the same problem and cant get anywhere with this! Im at a standstill.

I purchased a 2018 Kia Stinger the end of June 2018 and have had nothing but grief since the purchase. Presently the car has 3200 miles on it and has been in the garage multiple times. Ive made several trips to the dealer for a trunk rattle in which they had to put shims in the slam block in the hatch to resolve the problem. Then it was back in the garage because the interior lights quit working. And several weeks ago I backed it out of the garage and shut the car off for a brief time waiting for my husband to get into the car and when he went to start the car all the lights started flashing and the car would not start and the car would not recognize that the key fob was present. I immediately called the Kia dealer and the service manager went home for the evening and no techs available but was advised to have the car towed to Kia or call roadside assistance. This episode caused us to be late for an appointment. To make a long story short the battery had to be replaced the next day interfering with plans that were made for the day. Today my car is @ the dealership once AGAIN for them to monitor a violent jerk in the car which has occurred several times and was told the fuel pump will probably need replaced! They will be keeping the car for several days. Id like to note that I have to drive 35 miles one way to the Kia dealership. A new car is suppose to be a pleasurable satisfying experience and an investment in my hard earned money. This experience of owning my first Kia has been a nightmare causing me inconvenience, stress and grief. I regret the purchase and it was not a cheap purchase. No vehicle with this amount of mileage should have so many issues like I have had. Im making payments on a car that sits in a garage being repaired every month. I often wonder how much this unreliable car will cost me in the future when warranty runs out. Id like to note on the positive side that Kias service department has been awesome through this ordeal and has expressed concern and understanding with my frustrations and their customer service at Team Kia in Johnstown, Pa. is first class.

I am writing for my roommate **. She is not in the best health. One year ago she bought a 2008 Kia Rondo after her 2006 Kia blew up a few days after the warranty ended. This Kia was a certified used car which means to us it is just a regular car. The first day the rear door was stuck. The dealer had to cut the door off to open it and replace the door. They paid for it. Since then she went to get it inspected and the front coil spring had broken, the brakes all the way around are completely shot and an exhaust pipe is leaking before the cat converter. They refused as well as Kia to repair anything since it is out of warranty. She bought an extended warranty which is useless, since in my experience, they never pay for anything. But since the car was coming from one of the largest dealers in the area we thought they would stand behind it... What a joke!!! One other thing that slipped my mind but it is not something they would fix anyway. I was driving on the interstate last summer with cruise on at 65 mph, got pulled over and got a 200.00 ticket for speeding at 95 mph. I paid the ticket and got the charges reduced so as not to get my license suspended. I guess we will have to pay for the repairs, but both Kia and the dealer will lose our business and everyone we know as well!!

This is the second KIA I have bought. The bumper I needed was the wrong one. When I got the right bumper, the brackets were not with the part. This tells me I will not ever purchase another one. I have recommended this car to a lot of my customers, and I will certainly will not do it any further. I will tell them to steer clear of KIA.

I brought my used 2007 Kia Optima in June 2011. A few months later, the red air bag light on the drivers side start coming on. It stayed on. In April 2012, I thought my problem was solved when I received a recall letter about the air bag. The dealer stated that he fixed the problem but the red light is still on. He stated that there was another problem with the passenger side air bags. I did notice that side too. I will not pass car inspection in June if the light is still on. To fix the problem, it would cost $1,000.00 to replace the seat because Kia hasn’t recalled this air bag.

I bought the used Kia in Pietermaritzburg branch and a few days after purchasing it the car got stuck with me. All the gears didnt want to go in. The clutch pedal was normal but the gear itself was just stiff. I had to park on the side of the road and called for assistance. When their technical arrived the car was back to normal and he assumed the rubber mat was stuck under the clutch. I then drove off feeling a little embarrassed. Three days down the line driving around turn on my lunch break same thing happened and I parked on the side of the road, switched off the engine and waited a bit. I started the engine and the gears were back to normal. The following day driving a friend to airport I got stuck on heavy traffic wherein a truck had broken down on N3 to Durban. I tried to get myself a safer spot and parked the car for like 5 minutes and started the engine. Again it was ok. The following day I informed the sales manager at KIA who said I must drive with their technical to see if the car will have that problem. I informed her that the car does that especially when I am driving in traffic. So we drove off with the technician and the car was ok. We returned back and I was asked to bring in the car so they could do a diagnostic check. I brought it back the following day and the result that they told me was that the car did not show any problems on their computer. The implication of that was that they cannot help me if they cannot pick up the problem.I held a meeting with the owner of the branch and he told me same story. I was angry and confused not knowing what I need to do in this case. So I am currently stuck with a vehicle which is like new because it had 1500km when I bought it, but I am unhappy. I got stuck recently in the morning on my way to work, and every time it happens I have to park on the side and let it cool down I would say. It is very frustrating and even more frustrating to know that the company says they cannot assist with this problem.

I had a horrible experience at the classic Kia in Ellicott City MD. I had complained about an issue with my car that arose a few months after purchasing my Sorrento and they kept insisting it was nothing for over a year and then kept my car for a month where it sat unworked on for two weeks to fix it. I was lied to several times and as compensation they offered me three oil changes. They went out of business before I even needed my first oil change and now Kia is saying they cant do anything about the promise made to me by a specific dealer. As someone who works in customer service I cant imagine treating clients this way and not stepping up to make sure they are happy with my services and product. I would not recommend Kia based on customer service.

I was looking for a car with great gas mileage, comfortable in seating 5 people, and would last for many years. I bought the 2009 Kia Spectra LE and had some reservations as I had always owned either a Ford or Chevrolet all of the years I had driven but the salesman indicated that the nitrogen tires increased the gas mileage. After owning it for 2 years I developed an air leak and kept taking it to the dealership to get nitrogen in the tire until they could get me in for service on the tire. I finally just started using air and found absolutely no difference in my gas mileage so I have since replaced all 4 tires with regular air tires.

On Wednesday, October 31, my Kia Picanto broke down. It was towed to Kia in Alberton (arrived 09:30). I had called Bennie and arranged. He said they might not have a chance to look at it the same day, which I understood. The following day (Thursday, around 15:00) I had to call Bennie back to find out what was happening with my car. He told me they were stripping it and they were suspecting the crankshaft. The following day (Friday, around 15:00), I had to call back! Now Bennie was on leave. I asked to speak to the principal as I was not happy with the service. No one was getting back to me and now my car is standing while hes on leave? I spoke to Jaco, who promised he would find out and call me back. Paul called me back. They were putting in the warranty claim and I would have an answer by Monday. I asked for a loan car and Paul said I should contact Kia SA. Monday I contacted Kia SA as I still have had no call from Alberton. I asked for a loan car and told Jessica about my issues. Jessica said its up to the dealer to provide a loan car. She will call me back. Tuesday Sean called me and said they sent my claim on Monday. I then called Kia SA and spoke to Brendon. Both Jessica and Brendon have not returned the calls!

I’ve bought three Kia cars. I love the design and price but I’m done with Kia. Two of the cars have had engine problems. One the rod went through the engine (Kia Soul). They replaced it with no problem, gave me a rental car and everything went smoothly. This second one has been painful (Kia Sorento). After months and multiple trips to the dealer because a light was on but they couldn’t find any issue, the car finally stopped working in the middle of rural GA. Because of the pandemic, while they fixed the engine, I had to rent a rental car. Of course it took months, I understand parts etc are issues at this point. But in the almost three months since I’ve had the car back and I’ve had to take the car in for that same light twice with fixes that I’ve had to pay for, I haven’t received my rental reimbursement after submitting the request almost three months ago but they’ve said I went over their daily cap for reimbursement despite the fact I had the lowest tier rental and used a discount code. Note, nowhere in the paperwork or multiple conversations with the dealer and corporate did they say there was a daily cap. And they’re not responding to requests for an update. I’m going to look for a new SUV this weekend. I’m done with Kia!

This review is specific to Kias roadside service. Ive been very happy with my Kia vehicle. When I found myself needing a tow on a weekend night, Triple A phone wait times were 30+ minutes, but Kias roadside service responded right away. Apparently my policy had expired, but I said that I was willing to pay so that we could expedite this process and get me to a shop before it closed. At this time it was a bit before 7pm and the service center closed at 9pm, so I figured this wouldnt be a problem. Oh, how young and naive I was.First of all, after I hung up the phone with the representative, it took over an hour for some reason just for the Kia dispatch service to connect me with a towing service. I contacted an agent twice through the online chat system during this time and was both times given some generic message about how theyre working as fast as they can and your service is very important to us. Id like to add that Im in a major city, so its not like theres a shortage of tow companies around. THEN when they finally assigned me a tow company, I was told that my ETA for the tow truck to arrive was 45-60 minutes. Well, wouldnt you know it -- an hour goes by, and still no tow truck. This time I reach out to the tow truck company directly. He tells me that the driver got tied up with other tows but is now -- only just now! -- on his way over to me. Another hour goes by. Still no tow truck. Seattles big, but not that big. At this point the Kia service center is very, very closed. It takes another half hour just for the tow truck to arrive. During this time, Kia roadside assistance checks in a couple times -- once through a phone representative, and twice by text -- but each time when I tell them the tow truck still hasnt arrived, all they do is offer banal apologies and tell me my service matters. I understand that Kia roadside assistance only had so much control over the terrible tow truck company I was assigned. However, ultimately I ended up waiting over three and a half hours just for a simple tow job -- in the dark, by myself, in a part of town I didnt know well -- and Kia did nothing to help with this aside from offer meaningless phrases. No apology discount on service at their center, no attempt to find a faster tow service, nothing. Ill just stick with triple A next time; despite the initial long wait to speak with an agent, Ive never had such a ridiculous experience actually getting service from them.

Go with the flow. You dont see us men whining and complaining about all of the feminine hygiene products that bombard us during our television time. Theyre just gross and disgusting. Yeah, you bleed, yeah, you stink. Deal with it. Men are breeders. We eat, sleep and think sex. Bought my 2015 Kia Sorento in March of 2017 and have had problems with it pretty much right away. Started with my key fob. The driver door does not recognize my key fob and I have to either open the passenger door to unlock my car or hit the fob multiple times before the drivers door opens. Ive replaced the batteries and it hasnt helped. My alternator dies at 66K miles, which I thought was ridiculous. I called Kia to see if they would grant any good will since I was out of warranty and they did nothing. Claimed they couldnt help since I was the 2nd owner. In my opinion, it shouldnt matter if Im the 2nd or 5th owner. The car only had 66k miles on it and the car was bought from a Kia Dealership in Buford, GA. From a dealership, it wasnt a private sale. No reason other than Kia is garbage that an alternator should die at 66k miles. And now, my window doesnt work. I rolled down the passenger side window this morning and it wont go back up. Im bringing it somewhere to get it looked at, not Kia. It looks like the motor is no good. Of course it is, its a Kia. Well, Ive learned my lesson with Kia cars and hope you will learn from this review. DO NOT BUY KIA!

I was at your website, OxenDaleForThePeople.com and it sent me here. I am sad to say that after sending you a letter about a bad deal we received from your Prescott Valley dealership, we gave them another try and got yet another bad car! On Saturday, August 4th, we bought a Kia Rio. On Monday, August 6th, I was stranded on the side of the road in Phoenix in an area I had never been before with a dead car. As it turned out, the engine seized. After having 2 more engines put in it - both of which either seized or didnt drive above 40 mph - we still have no vehicle. After asking to have our money and car back, we were blown off and told that the warranty company was providing us with a rental. We dont want a rental. We simply want this nightmare to be over so that we can find a reliable and trustworthy vehicle from a trustworthy dealership. I would like to get this resolved and have a happy outcome for everyone. As a teacher, I do not have a lot of money and definitely do not have any extra money! Buying that car used my entire savings and I have nothing in return except for another bad experience at your dealership. I will never buy or allow anyone I know to buy from this company again, ever! They tell you in the commercials that they inspect every vehicle. We now know it is to make sure a customer can drive it off the lot so they can pass it off to them and say, too late, its yours!

I bought a 2007 Kia Sorento off the showroom floor, and it has been good mechanically. Kia of Vero Beach has been the only one to service the vehicle. The problem is that there is a noise when it shifts gears and it is getting worse. I went to the dealership and asked the service manager, Mr. Danny **, to have them look at it to clear the noise. He informed me I would have to pay for them to analyze the problem, which is clearly under warranty. I refused to do so and the problem still has not been resolved. This is not right, and I will not purchase another Kia or recommend them at any of my functions in Vero - just the opposite.

All I can say is if you get a Kia, pray that nothing ever goes wrong with it and that you need to deal with Corporate Headquarters. They are the most irresponsible and useless group of people I have ever dealt with. I had a recall on my car that was unsafe to drive. After over a month of back and forth where I was told the part was ordered and it was not, and then I was told I would get loaner car and then I was told I could not get a loaner car and that I would have to be reimbursed for renting my own car. I spent almost $650 for a rental car for a week and a half plus having to UBER to and from the car rental place. On December 21st, they approved my reimbursement and told to allow 30-45 days for completion. On January 27th (31 days later) I contacted Kia to find out the status of my reimbursement. I was told on January 28 (32 days) it was in final review and would be processed shortly. After receiving and hearing nothing, I contacted again on Feb 5 (40 days) and have since had no response. It is now Feb 12 (47 days) and I have yet to receive reimbursement nor any response from Kia. I spoke to manager, Brenda ** at Kia today who also told me that the reimbursement is still processing and she would follow up with me. Brenda did not follow up with me so I had to email her 8 days later and she told me it was still being processed and she requested it to be expedited (I thought this had already been done?). Now it has been another 5 days since she responded to me. I am going on 66 days since my reimbursement was approved with no check and no ETA of when I will get it.I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Kia just responds stating my case is being worked on and to work with my case manager. And to note, my case manager, David, if he still is my case manager, hasnt responded to me since January 28th (28 days ago). This is insane. I just want my money. I have been charged 2 months of interest on my credit card now and still they cannot even tell me when to expect my check. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY A KIA AGAIN AND REGRET BUYING THIS ONE. KIA IS A JOKE.

I had the worst experience having a Kia car. This was my first time I chose Kia because I liked the car that I was going to lease. The previous two cars that I drove were Toyota and they never ever gave me problems that usually an older car gives (one Problem on top of another). Imagine you trust the company, you get a brand new car thinking that “hey it’s a new car. I’m not going to have all the problems that old cars give and then one day you wake up, your car is not starting, the next day brake lights don’t work, the following week another problem comes up.And my car was a 2018 car and it’s 2019 now and then you call them. They keep transferring you to different departments not willing to take responsibility and ownership that you could be that one in a 1 million customers that had all these different problems with the car and maybe we can take care of you somehow. I would NOT recommend getting a Kia if you want to lease a NEW car. It was my first experience and the worst one and when you know the company doesn’t want to take responsibility for it, it’s even worse and not worth your time or your money!!!

This vehicle has had over 20 major repairs and/or factory recalls in less than 60k miles at over $20,000.00 at retail. The problems are still there and they refused to resolve the issues during the last year of the warranty. I hired a lawyer and was paid for my inconveniences along with a promise in writing to repair the issues. I took it to a dealer and the factory Kia Service rep refused to inspect the vehicle. Paul ** is the National service manager and a pathological liar. This vehicle (and many other Kias) were given the lowest rating ever by J.D. Power and associates. In other words, they make very poor vehicles, using the cheapest of materials, and refuse to honor the written warranty. I am forwarding a substantial file to senior executive managers shortly to ensure that they are aware of the policy practices of staff like Paul, who is orchestrating fraud, with intent. This will also ensure the company cannot claim ignorance of the behavior of a rogue employee. It is clear this company is committing fraud on a massive scale and is well aware of this. Interestingly, Hyundai behaved in the same fashion, about 15/20 years ago, and were almost bankrupt as a result of consumer backlash. All the execs and directors were eventually fired. It is time for the same to happen to Kia execs. Hyundai owns the majority of Kia shares. It should be noted that Kia recalled 146,000 vehicles last years for airbags which did not work. My vehicle eventually got a similar recall (not included in the large recall). Kia and its dealers were aware of the airbag issues but refused to act upon it until they were forced to do so. In other words, they are responsible for possible deaths and/or serious injury to many people who trusted this company to behave ethically. They do not. They were aware of the airbag issues years before the recall was forced upon them. We need to start a large program to warn the world of this companys willingness to defraud and to injure without concern. If everyone starts talking on social media about the phony warranty and the inherent problems of all Kias - we will bring them to their knees - where they belong.

The Sansone dealership and Kia headquarters are denying warranty coverage despite faulty original wiring and/or fuse box. The wires should not burn out before the fuses are tripped. I just wanted to share my story. We bought a 2014 Kia. Shortly after my purchase I discovered I was charged $2100 extra for a service contract (100000 mile warranty). We put a large sum down on the car and would have only owed around $6000. When I checked my paperwork turned out I owed $8000. The dealer had charged me for an extended warranty that I didnt want. So I had to return in person to Cancel after almost two months - the dealer finally sent Kia finance a check for $2100 dollars. So I called Kia finance and ask them to adjust my payments - didnt owe as much money on the car and they told me they would not redo the payments because I agreed to the original payment. I had never heard of anything so asinine in my whole life. Turns out we had to get the car refinanced to lower the payment. What a bunch of rude jerks. They wanted me to pay the same payment on a lower balance!

I was the owner of a 2018 Kia Sorento. Upon getting close to the end of my lease, I went to the dealership Smithtown Kia on Long Island, NY. Between mileage and remaining payments, part of the deal/contract for exchanging the 2018 Sorento for a new 2020 Kia Optima is that the remaining balance on the Sorento would be paid off by the dealership. The check for the remaining balance (in excess of $2,600.00) was sent by the dealership upon closure of the deal in February 2020. In August of the same year I received a notification from Transunion (one of the major credit bureaus) that a reported missed payment in the amount of the payoff had been reported by Kia Motors Finance. What Kia neglected to do was send the letters claiming I owed them this money to the address listed when I got the 2020 Optima (my current address), not the address I lived in upon the lease of the 2018 Sorento.I was left in the dark about it due to their negligence to send letters to the right address informing me of their negligence to handle a contracted pay off properly. I checked my credit score which at the time of the deal back in February was well over 800. What happened to my credit score was more than just a drop in the bucket. The drop my credit had experienced put me in a terrible position with my mortgage lender during a refinance that was taking place at the same time frame I found out about this remaining balance on a vehicle I no longer owned nor was legally financially responsible for due to the terms of the balance being the responsibility of the dealership to pay off. I called the dealership right away and they claimed they had sent the check. They sent me a tracking number where the check was sent via Fedex. I looked into the tracking number and the check was signed for by Kia Finance that it had been received.I called Kia Finance. After waiting unbelievable amounts of time to speak with someone, they requested that I send them a picture of the front and back of the check that the dealership had sent them for the pay off. So they wanted a picture of a check they already physically received, yes you read that right. I called the dealership and got the run around for 4 days before they found it and sent it to me via email. Mind you, every day that goes by I am building a terrible mountain of late days on my credit regarding this pay off. Once I received the picture of the front and back of the check I called Kia Finance again where they gave me an email to forward the picture of the check. I sent the email twice in the same day. I called the next day and they put me on hold for 45 minutes only to tell me that I had to wait an additional 2 days before they could find and review the email with the picture attached.I waited 2 days and called back. When I got someone on the phone they put me on hold for 2 straight hours before I lost my patience and gave up. I called the next day and they had me on the phone for an hour before they found the email. Once they found the email the lady on the phone said she was sending it over to payment processing which would take another 3 days. Yes, another 3 days. I waited the 3 days and called back. I got a lady on the phone whom I explained the whole situation to. She puts me on hold to review the situation and once again never gets back to me. I waited on hold for almost a half hour before I gave up again. I have the background music for being on hold with Kia etched into the bad memory bank of my brain. I called back right away where the next lady proceeded to tell me that she needed to review the situation and asked if I would hold for 2 to 3 minutes.I lost it at this point and started pointlessly yelling at them because Im a human being thats been completely pushed to the limit. Finally after over 2 weeks of this horrible experience I get a payment processing person on the phone that seemed interested in helping. But in the end, Ive been instructed I need to wait another 3 days before theyll know anything else. Im literally fighting against the credit bureaus clock because of this company due to absolutely no fault of my own.As I wrote this review I have literally been on hold upon the resolution of the last call I explained for over 26 minutes. I have no hope or feeling of resolution to this awful situation these people have put me in. Gross customer negligence and incompetence that has cost me my financial health. Something needs to be done whether Im the only person this has happened to or whether its happened to multiple people. Its unethical, its immoral, its life altering. I dont know what else to do. I will never get a Kia ever again.

My passenger side air bag light went on and I was told that I would need a new bottom part of a seat which would cost me $1.542.00. I feel that this is a safety issue that KIA motors should cover. I bought this brand new 2008 KIA Spectra. I call KIA Motors about this and the man that I talked to was not a helpful person at all and said it would take two days to see if they could help. Well, they called me within a few hours and stated they would not help me out. 3 yrs old and the car has this kind of issue.

I hope this follow up gets posted also. The car went back again to the deal
I hope this follow up gets posted also. The car went back again to the dealer Grieco Kia for the Air Conditioner once again. The fuse keeps blowing after replacing the compressor on it. They have had the car since August 22, 2013, and it is now September 1, 2013. They have changed 3 parts on the Air Conditioning system and still, the fuses are blowing and they have driven the car approximately 500 miles of testing our car. They claim that they need to drive the car 100 miles each time they put a new part in. I never heard of such bull. They are doing this so we dont get the car back and bring it back again, because if it goes back 3 or 4 times for the same problem, we can return the car under the Florida Lemon Law. This is why they have not returned our new car to us as of yet. The funny part is that we are making the monthly payments on the car and they Grieco Kia is driving our car all over. The longer this goes on with our new car, the more I am telling people not to buy a Kia or any other brand cars that Grieco Kia sells.

I purchased a used 2016 Kia Sorento fully loaded SXL (Highest trim, original MSRP of $43,000) for $27,000 + TAX/FEE with just under 40,000 miles on it in 2017. I had the car shipped to me from Gary Rome KIA in ENFIELD, CT (Never do business with this dealership. They are dishonest). I live in TN and they shipped the car down to me after a brief negotiation of price over the phone. From the moment the car was delivered to me I had several issues that the KIA dealership that sold me the car should have taken care of. 1. The panoramic moonroof was sticking and wouldnt close properly. 2. The car had tires on it OLDER THAN THE SUV ITSELF! 3. The tailgate was sticking and not opening properly.4. The keyless entry and automatic tailgate opening both did not work properly (Less than 60% success on keyless entry, 90%+ failure on tailgate feature). 5. The car was delivered with only ONE key fob (Promised two, never made good on it. Thats $200). 6. The exhaust system on the SUV had a catastrophic failure resulting in complete loss of engine power and leaving me without a car for over a week while car was at local dealer being repaired under warranty. All these issues in a $40k SUV that was under 40k miles and about a year old.Despite all these issues, the warranty covered fixing the exhaust (Melted catalytic converter), fixing the moonroof (Lubrication added and hardware adjustments), and a temporary fix on the tailgate sticking (Anti-Stick coating applied. Didnt help for long. Problem returned within a month). The dealer never acknowledged the keyless entry had any issue telling me I had to physically remove the key from my pocket for it to work properly. This defeats the entire purpose of KEYLESS entry. This is 100% unacceptable and they know it. Despite all these issues upfront, I enjoyed the value of the features in the car and wanted to keep it. I kept it for about year and traded it in 2018 for a Lexus (Ive never had a single poor experience with Lexus. They are worth every extra penny and their keyless entry JUST WORK!).For those considering buying a KIA here are some PROS and CONS based from my experiences with the product and company. PROS. 1. They honored warranty work. Never cost me anything other than inconvenience and time. 2. Cars come with high end features for less cost. 3. Buying a used KIA is very attractive from a price/value perspective. 4. Quality of KIA has improved dramatically over the years.CONS. 1. Car had tons of issues, some of which like the keyless entry that KIA refused to acknowledge were issues. 2. KIA vehicles DEPRECIATE LIKE A LEAD BALLOON. NEVER buy a brand new KIA. Youll get taken to the cleaners on your trade or when you decide to sell. Even if you buy used, the trade/value of their vehicles are TERRIBLE! Having owned the 2016 KIA Sorento for about a year and getting the mileage up to 60k miles, I was offered anywhere from 20-22k in trade AT A KIA DEALERSHIP! A Ford dealer offered me $23.8k. I paid $27k. Car dropped between 3.2-7k in value in 20k miles/1 year. Seriously? Even the KIA dealerships dont want their product back. Very disappointed in value retention of product. Some dealerships didnt even want to offer anything because of the KIA name. Maybe I just got unlucky and was delivered a LEMON. However I dont give KIA a pass for this since I purchased a practically brand new car from THEIR FRANCHISED DEALERSHIP and was delivered an absolute piece of garbage. I purchase a new 1-3 year old used car (Normally off lease) about every 1-3 years. I favor high end luxury cars in the price range of $30-40k. There are three car manufacturers I will never buy from again. BMW (These cars are fun to drive but absolutely trash and maintenance and repairs will eat you alive). KIA (These cars on the surface appear to be great values but you get what you pay for). Mitsubishi (My first car was a Galant. Head gasket blew up at 60k miles. Car was babied and I expected to get many more years of life out of it. This happened when I was just out of college.) Congratulations KIA. You made the list. Ill never buy your brand again because of the terrible experience and product you delivered.

We have owned a 2012 KIA Sorento EX for four years. We have enjoyed the car and taken good care of it... hoping that it would last us for years. Last month our engine suddenly seized up and died as I was driving home from a routine shopping trip. The engine was still under warranty coverage and we had taken our car to the KIA dealer for recent maintenance and an oil change. After having the car towed to the dealer we were told that our warranty coverage was denied because we had neglected the car. We were aghast and suspected poor maintenance on the part of the dealer so we complained to KIAs customer service. They assigned us a customer number and investigator. It has been a month and we cannot get a call telling us where the investigation is going. KIA apparently does not want to honor its warranties for big issues. We tell everyone we know not to buy a KIA!

Purchased a new Kia Soul 2010 in Antigonish, NS. Fantastic dealership there
Purchased a new Kia Soul 2010 in Antigonish, NS. Fantastic dealership there. We wanted the burner model, but they only came in one color, so they custom made a green model as a burner for us. Moved to Charlottetown, PE and it all went downhill. The gas mileage was horrendous in the car, about 15L/100km. Took it to the dealership and they told us the following. The air filter needs to be replaced. All the fuel lines are good. The mechanic however did not check the plugs because he would have to take the engine cover off. They wanted to charge us quite a bit of money to proceed from there. I declined, I can replace an air filter myself. Purchased and ready to install. I then notice my engine cover is missing. Two bright and shiny holes where the 2 10 mm screws would hold it in place twinkling in the sunlight. Whaaaaaaat? Note: for the record, I know it did not come with one factory installed, it was aftermarket. So I call Kia up and ask where my engine cover is. They say I didnt have one. Wait for it! But.. You told me that YOU DID NOT CHECK THE PLUGS because of the engine cover. So whats the deal? Where is my cover? I even provided a picture of it to them. They said they did not have it. Grr.... So I then asked, if I never had one (I did) why would I be told you did not check the plug because of it, which is absurd because 2 10 mm screws take approximately 45 seconds to remove. The service manager told me repeatedly that my car never came with one and he doesnt know why they would tell me that. I lodged a complaint with Kia directly and all they would say is that they were aware of the incident. No apology, no offer to replace my cover.Skip ahead 1 year, car taken in for inspection. Was told the rear rotors needed replacement, they wanted 400$ to replace them. I said no, I can replace them myself. I pulled the wheels off and the rotors were fine, no scarring. I had already purchased new ones so I put them on, changed the brake pads and took the car back. They checked the car and now the front ones needed replacing. I said the hell and I took the car to a brake specialist where he will turn bad rotors on a lathe to fix them. NO ISSUES FOUND WITH THE ROTORS.I took the car back to the dealership and told them who I had check them. They then said oh, yeah they are fine, but your tires need to be replaced. I told them to put the passed inspection sticker on the car, the tires have the appropriate thread on them and that they need to stop the ** with fake issues. They put the sticker on the car. So as it stands now, I am out $80 for the after market engine cover and $100 on rear rotors I did not need. Thank you Kia Charlottetown, I think I will buy anything but Kia next time. So in the end, I am out an $80 after market cover.

I have been dealing with the same issue for 2 yrs when it was under warranty and my car is still not fix - I have a 2009 Kia. Now that the warranty is over, I did purchased an extended warranty which I cant even use cause the dealer tells me different stories so my extended warranty will expired already and they are giving me the run around scenario. So over it but this made my decision to buy a Nissan. I also own a nissan - best customer service ever.

Got in my car and the radio comes on and the volume is loud and the radio is on a channel that I never listens to. Tried to turn the radio volume down, that didnt work, tried to turn the radio off, that didnt work, tried to change to a different station, that didnt work. This was on a Saturday evening around 5pm. Turned the engine off and back on the radio, still would not turn off or allow me to change the volume or station. Drove by the dealership (of course service department was closed) and showed the salesmen what was going on. They had no clue as to why this was occurring or how to fix it. Suggested I bring the car back in on Monday to have it looked at. Also the following day, the cruise control would not work. Not sure if this is a fuse issue or what.

Dec 2017 after 2 years of owning my car and 69000 miles my engine seized. T
Dec 2017 after 2 years of owning my car and 69000 miles my engine seized. This is a 2012 Kia Sorento. Ive argued with Kia dealership and Kia itself that I find it ridiculous that a car so new that the engine died all of a sudden. I was driving on a very busy road and it just stopped. No lights came on or anything. I was accused several times that it was my fault that there was sludge in the engine. I have corrected them each time that I have receipts of oil changes and not by their company. They wanted to charge me money for a diagnostic test that they never did until I disputed that and they waived the fee. I was forced to either pay over 5 grand for a new engine or I was almost convinced a few times to voluntarily repo my car and start new again with them by purchasing a new car. I still have 4 years left to pay off my car and in good faith I still going to try my best. I received a loan from my job and paid the rest. I have investigated before the fix and disputed that there is many other Kia engines failing and that Kia placed blame on the owners for not maintaining their cars for sludge being in the engines. I then read that there was an engine recall for the same issues but my VIN is not listed. Ive tried to bring this up to Kia that I find it a coincidence that my car has failed the same exact way as all of these other Kia engines. I believe that Kia is nothing but crooks and I will never deal with them again. They should pay for all of these faulty engines. 3 weeks after I replaced my engine I started leaking antifreeze. My Kia said theyd help me with coupons since I just did a huge service with them... 25$ coupon. Yeah thanks but no thanks for the help. I had to pay another 309$. I dont feel safe in my car. Oh and I forgot to mention that Kia neglected to tell me that the warranty on the used Kia engine is only for 90 days. I am disgusted the way that whole company treats their customers when it is us who gives them their paying jobs. As I said a bunch of crooks. My junker cars have lasted longer than this car. What is sad is I loved my car. At first it was great. Everything was working great. Then the engine went. Kia never told me about their common engine issues. I found this out myself and when I confronted them about it. They were all hush hush about it. After this car dies I will never again give my money to Kia.

Kia Sorento wont start. When I get in the car to start it and push the butt
Kia Sorento wont start. When I get in the car to start it and push the button, everything on the inside will come on, but the engine wont turn over. I have been stranded 5 times this week, and now the piece of ** is sitting in the parking lot at work and wont start. Sometimes, if I sit there long enough, I can get it started. Several months ago, I could not get it started. I called Kia Emergency rescue and a wrecker driver showed up. He got in the car, pushed on the brake (to the floorboard) 3 times and it started right up. He said that this is a common problem with Kias and that is how you get it started. So - that is what I have been doing, but the problem is just getting worse. Two weeks ago, I was headed out of the office to my daughter in labor, and guess what - it wouldnt start. After about 15 minutes I got it started. I called service at the dealership where it was purchased, and at first they denied it, then the lady on the phone said that Kia was aware of this problem. I asked her why were the consumers not made aware of this. She had no answer. Earlier this week, again it happened. I called Kia direct and filed a complaint and was given a case number. Of course, they deny any knowledge of this problem. They asked me if I wanted the car replaced and I told them yes, but not with a Kia. That didnt go over very well. So on a Saturday, I have to get a ride to my office, pick the piece of ** up and go to the dealership with it. I have already been told they wont give me a loaner car. We will see about that tomorrow. I am very disappointed with this vehicle. Oh yes - the 3rd back up camera is out. This car is only 1 year old. Do not buy Kia. They do not back their product! As soon as I can, this thing will be traded for a more reliable vehicle.

I purchased a 2008 KIA rondo in 2012 with 19,000 miles on it from a Kia dealership. We are now into 2015 with 51,000 miles and the engine is locked up! All I can say is they make really crap cars for an engine to lock up at 51k. I took great care of my car, getting all oil changes and services done on time. I will never buy another Kia and I will steer anyone I know from Kia as well.
