I have had my car in the dealership on several occasion. I have a 2014 Kia Cadenza. A very elegant car but it is misfiring and it vibrates like crazy on a cold start and a hot start. The service advisor is always nice and polite. But the service on my vehicle is horrible. Kia knows my vehicle is misfiring and vibrating like crazy its to the point where it Im moving in the car too it vibrates so bad. I work for a Kia dealership and if Kia tech will do me like this they would do anyone like this. I would not recommend anyone to purchase a Kia Cadenza. They are garbage. They look good on the outside but rotten on the outside. And I know they are trying to wait until my warranty go out so I would have to face this problem myself.

Just received first bill will three days notice to pay. I have been on phone over 2 hours and cant get an account set up. Their reply, You have to get another computer (had tried on a computer and my phone) and just keep trying. I then asked for a manager and was begrudgingly forwarded to a manager who kept trying to help and now 2 hours 20 minutes later, still do not have an account and they cant set one up for me (even though they have all my info on their computer system).

I have had my 2013 Kia Sorento for 2 years and I have never had an issue with the car up until this far. Recently my fuel pump went out and as inconvenient as it was Kias customer service helped make the situation quick and cost free. Even though I was the second owner of the car, therefore voiding the Extended warranty, Kia still covered the repairs at no cost to me. Even though it was a holiday weekend they had me in a rental car the same day and even covered the entire cost for the week I had it. The customer service representatives were all extremely nice and very accommodating to our needs. I would recommend Kia to my friends and family and plan to get one for my fiancé in the future as well.

This is the second KIA I have bought. The bumper I needed was the wrong one. When I got the right bumper, the brackets were not with the part. This tells me I will not ever purchase another one. I have recommended this car to a lot of my customers, and I will certainly will not do it any further. I will tell them to steer clear of KIA.

The headlamp developed a crack internally. No mark on the outside, Kia claims it must have been hit. There is no way, no mark of any kind on clear globe, no way to break from inside out. Their service has been terrible, they are rude, they have been called with questions, and pictures for two and a half months. They wont send anyone to look at it, and they offer nothing. I will never buy their product and I caution anyone else. Inside is plastic and falls apart.

Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency braking will not work. Took to Dealer and confirmed it was not operational. After having it in the shop for 7 days within the first 2 weeks after purchase, they contacted Kia to get representative to take a look. Thats been over 7 weeks and no response. I am very disappointed in Kias lack of customer service on this serious safety issue. Have ask the Dealer to follow up numerous times, but still no response from Kia.

I have been dealing with the same issue for 2 yrs when it was under warranty and my car is still not fix - I have a 2009 Kia. Now that the warranty is over, I did purchased an extended warranty which I cant even use cause the dealer tells me different stories so my extended warranty will expired already and they are giving me the run around scenario. So over it but this made my decision to buy a Nissan. I also own a nissan - best customer service ever.

It started on Wednesday Sept 3, 2014, my Kia was lacking its get up and go. I called the dealership and told them that my car was running rough and had a hard time starting but no warning lights. They were able to see me the following Monday. According to the diagnostic test nothing was wrong but that the oil was in rough shape. I told them keep looking. After further review they determined that the fuel pump was bad. They replaced it and I picked it up on Wednesday. I only drove about 2 miles and could tell that the car was still not running right. I called the shop when I got home but they were already closed for the day so I called right away Thursday morning. They got me in right away and called me about 4 hours later letting me know that the Turbo was burnt out and that I needed to show proof of oil changes since I purchased the car (2 1/2 years ago!). I am still fighting this, I cant find all my receipts. I may find myself stuck with a car that only has 38K miles and a payment but not a car that can be driven. What kind of company is Kia? Neither the engine or oil light NEVER came on ---EVER! Yet if I dont find evidence of enough satisfactory oil changes (they say 8) then the warranty is void!! This is crazy --- does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks.

Bought my Kia Rio in 2000 from Bert Ogden in Mission Texas. Had problems with the car stopping while driving the car. Worst experience in the expressway. Then I also had the problems with sludge on motor which end in overhauling engine then had the same problem with the car stopping while driving. Still 2016 trying to getting it fix, new alternator, new starter, overhaul motor, new battery and still having the problem. It’s just a piece of junk. Dont recommend this vehicle at all. Will never buy any Kia vehicles.

My 2010 Kia Soul has 113,000 miles and according to Kia needs a new crank shaft. Apparently the crank shaft bearing failed causing the damage and requiring a rebuilt engine costing $4000!!! Customer service was horrible... offering no assistance, excuses or closure. Apparently they stand by a vehicle only lasting 113,000 miles. I have done all of the required maintenance and then some. And I had to call the regional office customer service for 3 days before I talked to anyone. Now the dealership wants money for a misdiagnosis and a broken car... I am so disappointed and frustrated.

I bought a KIA Rio because I needed a car and first they charged me way too much around 10,000 dollars for it when it had 55,000 miles on it and on Kelly blue books, it only cost 5,000. I had it for a few days and the starter went, they fixed it but then about 2 weeks later the starter went again. This little car has problems kicking into gear as well. To me it is not a safe car and when driving it I feel as though it is a deathtrap. I will never buy a KIA ever again, I would like to get rid of it but unfortunately I am stuck with a payment. So if anyone knows how I can get rid of this junk car, please let me know. But KIA is definitely not safe rated for me.

I purchased a 2018 Kia Stinger the end of June 2018 and have had nothing but grief since the purchase. Presently the car has 3200 miles on it and has been in the garage multiple times. Ive made several trips to the dealer for a trunk rattle in which they had to put shims in the slam block in the hatch to resolve the problem. Then it was back in the garage because the interior lights quit working. And several weeks ago I backed it out of the garage and shut the car off for a brief time waiting for my husband to get into the car and when he went to start the car all the lights started flashing and the car would not start and the car would not recognize that the key fob was present. I immediately called the Kia dealer and the service manager went home for the evening and no techs available but was advised to have the car towed to Kia or call roadside assistance. This episode caused us to be late for an appointment. To make a long story short the battery had to be replaced the next day interfering with plans that were made for the day. Today my car is @ the dealership once AGAIN for them to monitor a violent jerk in the car which has occurred several times and was told the fuel pump will probably need replaced! They will be keeping the car for several days. Id like to note that I have to drive 35 miles one way to the Kia dealership. A new car is suppose to be a pleasurable satisfying experience and an investment in my hard earned money. This experience of owning my first Kia has been a nightmare causing me inconvenience, stress and grief. I regret the purchase and it was not a cheap purchase. No vehicle with this amount of mileage should have so many issues like I have had. Im making payments on a car that sits in a garage being repaired every month. I often wonder how much this unreliable car will cost me in the future when warranty runs out. Id like to note on the positive side that Kias service department has been awesome through this ordeal and has expressed concern and understanding with my frustrations and their customer service at Team Kia in Johnstown, Pa. is first class.

I purchased a KIA Sorento in 2013. It was brand new. In 2017 at about 30,000 miles, it started producing a lot of blue exhaust. It continued to produce the blue exhaust, so I took it into KIA Roseville to get it serviced. They changed the oil, did regular maintenance, and checked out the problem. When I went in to pick up my car, they said everything was fine, and there was some sludge, but it should work its way out. They also told me to call them if the problem persisted. The problem did persist, so I called KIA Roseville, and asked if I should bring the car back in. They said that the problem was probably caused by the sludge, and that I should just continue driving on it to work the sludge out. Well, I kept driving on it, and even drove from Sacramento to San Diego. When I got back from my trip to San Diego, my car started making a strange noise. I called KIA, and made an appointment to get it checked out again. I took my car in, and this time they told me my engine was about to fail, and that we needed to replace it. They also said that KIA would probably not cover the warranty, because we were missing some of our maintenance-receipts. They told us that there was excessive sludge. What kind of car gets excessive sludge in the engine at 30,000 miles? Oh, and mind you, I never had one warning light go on in the car. Well, it turns out this problem with KIA Sorentos, and other models, is happening everywhere. I have found hundreds of views with the exact same problem.

We bought our Kia used, (we werent told it was used at the time we bought it, we noticed it was used after we had bought it and got in it - as we didnt test drive this particular one). In any event, the warranty covered the electrical parts up to 12,000. At about 11,000 miles, I was driving down the highway and was told that break lights werent working. We had head light issues and just thought it was a the bulbs, but both break lights went out, then pulled into the parking deck and notice no running light and no head lights except for brakes. We had to get towed back to the dealership and they replaced all the bulbs saying they were burned out. By the time the lights went out again, it was out of warranty. Every month or so, a bulb will go out - a head light, a break light. Then we noticed when you hit the back of the break light, the lights will flicker on and off, so the bulbs werent actually burned out. Then we began to notice the electrical seats were burned out. And then the lights where the manual transmission gear stick was burned out. Then the license plate lights. And now, for the first time a new electrical issue surfaced in the electric side mirrors, they will no longer work. We noticed many burn marks within the electrical components. We are certain KIA was aware of the electrical issue when we brought the car in under its warranty period, but they refused to address and simply replaced the bulbs and said sometimes things like this happen. We have been stopped by police for headlights being out, brake lights not working and license plate light out. While I love my KIA Sorento and mechanically it has been a reliable vehicle, the electrical issues have been dismal, costly, and unsafe.

My car, a 2009 Kia Rondo, had the right front wheel bearing go out at 69114 miles. It was replaced. I just had the left front wheel bearing replaced at 75977 miles. I have a problem with this because these should not have been a problem at this low mileage. I feel, as a safety issue, that Kia should repair the back ones also since the bearings were probably installed poorly to begin with. They wont do it.

I bought a used 2009 Kia Spectra last year around the end of the year. They convinced me to add on Gap insurance and a shock censored alarm. Ive had to bring the car in several times because the alarm doesnt work. My power steering started making noises about 4 months ago. I took it to the dealership because their Warranty is supposed to cover it. They tell me Your power steering fluid is dirty and the filter needs to be replaced/changed. Its going to cost $220 dollars. I was told all the fluid had already been replaced when I initially bought the car. So they are telling me that not even a year after buying the car that somehow the power steering fluid became dirty and the warranty doesnt cover it. This is total **. I will never buy a Kia ever again. They are liars and every time I try to call their service department, they transfer me repeatedly and hang up. Never again. Haddad Kia Bakersfield, CA sucks and I recommend to never buy a car from this dealership ever!!The warranty is a joke. I refused to pay the $220 dollars and had to pay $120 just to get my car back from them. This is ridiculous! Im out over a thousand dollars already on what Ive paid on the car and when I get my tax return this year, I will be trading this stupid piece of junk in for a Honda.

In August of 2012, it will be 2 years that I have owned my 2011 KIA Sorento. I bought the vehicle brand new. 3 weeks ago (at 30K miles), my 4 tires had steel threads poking out and the tires were very thin. The Sorento was also pulling to the right, very bad. I contacted the dealership, telling them that their manufacturers tires were bad and demanded they replace them and fix my alignment. Kia told me that it could have done 12 months prior, but that I am out of luck now and have to pay over $200 to get it fixed right. So, I went to another big time vehicle mechanic. They did my alignment and they also mentioned that the camber bolts needed to be replaced/fixed, but that would have to be something KIA needs to do. This place did do my alignment, after I forked over a thousand dollars for 4 brand new tires at Discount Tire Co. So, Kia Corporate Service told me to bring the vehicle in for a checkup after I told them what the other mechanic told me. After Kia was done, they hit me with a charge for another alignment! I explained to the guy that we had told him from the beginning that we had an alignment done and that we did not authorize this. Then, Kia told me that the camber bolts were installed backwards and the mechanic had to fix that too. I told the guy, How could that be? The other mechanic never even touched the bolts. After I was forced to pay in order to be able to drive it off, the Sorento went back to pulling off to the right again. So, back I went to the dealership today. I took this Kia service guy for a test drive in my Sorento. This guy said that driving down our bad city roads just makes it seems like our vehicle is pulling off to the right. That there are a lot of bumps in our city roads. The service guy said they will take another look at our Sorento, even though as he said, There is nothing wrong with it. Kia also refuses to give me my money back for the other alignment that was done, which the vehicle did not need. While there, I met another customer who had just gone through the same, exact thing we are now going through. She has hired an attorney and gave me the name of her attorney.

We are writing this because of an incident that we had on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Valencia, CA Kia dealership (a.k.a. CA superstores KIA). During our visit, weve had a very difficult situation and inappropriate matter with one of the sales managers, Raldo **. At the beginning of purchase transaction (after weve mentioned about the final quote that the dealership agreed on), Raldo ** started yelling with anger and stomped out on us. Offensively, he doubted us about the price that the dealership gave us. This made us very uncomfortable and it was extremely rude behavior. We couldnt find any reasons of Raldo **s attitude. Weve never had such an unpleasant experience and being insulted before.Later, he came back and weve tried to tell him that we didnt appreciate his demeanor. However, he totally ignored us and walked away again for the second time without any apologies. It seems like his main focus was on something else, not selling a car. Weve requested his business card, but he refused to give it out and told us that he doesnt have it. Therefore, we are doubting his qualification as a sales manager. Absolutely, we found zero customer skills and business ethic from this person. We werent expecting a top service, but at least he didnt need to be rude. Based on todays bad experience, we believed that we are not the first and only customer who have received this type of treatment. Weve lost our time and effort.Unfortunately, we could not purchase the vehicle because of the above incident with Raldo **. We are very disappointed and will not recommend to any friends and/or family members about this Kia dealership and his service. Finally, we strongly not recommend this person to any future Kia customers.

During a service oil change at 30,000 miles, I was presented with an affidavit from KIA stating that I must pay $275.95 every 15,000 miles in order to keep my KIA warranty in effect and this had to be signed. This charge is to check the valves for carbon build up. If I don’t do this the warranty will be nullified. This new requirement is 2 years after the purchase of my KIA Sorento. This is a new action after the fact and KIA is charging the customer to keep it in effect. This was not a condition of our original warranty. Since this was the first time it was implemented, my dealer, Martin Swanty in Kingman, AZ discounted this charge to $179.00 plus tax.

The Car is Kia cerato 2011 with identification number of KNAFW411BB5369214. The purchase date was15-7-2011 and the number of kilometers is 9000. The car has been received on 15-7-2011 from the main branch (Abu rRwash, Cairo /Alex. Desert road) and after one month from using the car, it was noted when two persons ride on the back seat that a crack sound in the suspension system is heard. I went to Kias agent Elgendy 3S Elmahalla Elkobra branch to solve this problem and accordingly, after the maintenance, the sound disappeared. After five days only from the maintenance, the sound comes back again. As of now, I went six times to Kias agents and every time sound disappears and comes back after 4-5 days from maintenance. I have sent more than one complaint to the Egyptian International Trading & Agencies Co. and until now the problem is not yet solved. Upon this, I have advised all of my friends and relatives not to buy any Kia cars as bad after sales services increase customer dissatisfaction and negatively affect Kias sales and reputation. Finally, I need my problem to be solved; otherwise my car needs to be replaced. Thanks and kind regards.

2014 KIA CADENZA. I have been a Kia owner for the past 10 yrs. I previously owned the AMANTI that I loved very very much, until the very end when I decided to trade in for a new Cadenza. But I seem to have a internal noise problem with the cadenza. I noticed the clicking noise about 200 mile. I took it to the dealer, however they said could not find a problem. I returned again after 300 miles, still with the problem. The sales manager advised me to wait until after 500 miles to open a case with Kia. I returned the auto after 900 miles, they looked into it. On Nov 13th 2014 they wrote the following on the work order PIT STOP P5282 SIDE CENTER OF SUNROOF, NOISE COMING FROM LOOSE SCREWS HOLDING SUNROOF CURTAIN IN PLACE: 85310R00 3.2 HEADLINER BAR, 81651 - 3R500... FAILED PART, RE-SECURED AND PREFORMED PIT STOP FOR RATTLE. Well after month later the problem return, I wrote an email complaining to dealer that noise appears to have return. On 01/06/15 I took the car back to the dealership for the same noise. The dealership found no problem and wrote the following: TEST DROVE CAR WITH TECHNICIAN FOR 7 MILES OVER VARIOUS ROAD SURFACES AND OVER BUMPS COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM, NO PROBLEM FOUND. Problem still exist. The dealership indicated that they drove the car for over 7 miles and found no problem, however I had noted the mileage on the car and found that the car had only been driven under a mile. I filed a complaint sales manager at the dealership, which the service manager admitted that they did not drive the car only around the block. I preceded to file a compliant with Kia customer service and meet with the District Manger. It took about 2 weeks to confirm the meeting at the dealership. I finally met with DM who drove with me and agree there was a problem. It took over 2 more weeks to schedule a repair date. On 3/25/15, Once again I returned the car to the dealership and they found a problem. Stating the following: C/S noise coming from roof of vehicle near the roof. Please check and advise. Effective part # 81630R500. Found edge of sunroof plate bolts were over torqued causing rail to sit improperly in track adjusted to Kia specs and road tested with technician and Kia DSPN, adjusted sunroof plates, no noise present at this time.Once again the noise has come back and even worst, metal bouncing inside of sunroof. I stop by the dealership on 4/14 and talked to the service manger, which rode with me and agreed there was a noise. He preceded to advise me that he would contact the DM of Kia and call me when arrangement made. On 4/16/15 the service manager called stating still waiting on DM call back. On April 22, he contacted me stating which day early next week was good. On April 24th contact SM and advised him that on April 28th at 10 am would be fine to meet with the SM and DM. To my surprise, the DM was not present. I advised the SM to contact me when the DM would show up so that I was involved in the loop. However, that did not occur. On 4/29 the service manger advised me by phone that no problem was found. I have requested once again to meet with the DM and take the service manager and District Kia manager on a ride, so they understand the noise factor. I have requested to meet the DM through the Kia customer service and Service manger at the dealer, once again review the problem and take test drive with me present. Still waiting for a response as of 5/1/15. I am extremely unhappy with the noise of this cadenza, most passenger hear the noise. Now the dealer is sending messages that I need to return the loaner car, because KIA is not going to pay for the use of the loaner. So now they are threatening me with billing my credit car for a dealer loaner. I have not heard from KIa regarding this matter as of yet. Frankly I am beginning to dislike the fact that I purchased this cadenza, though I was extremely happy with my KIA AMANTI. CASE # **. One of the solutions has been to have the sunroof completely changed according to other kia cadenza owners who have experienced the same situation.

We replaced the starter change the oil and air filter along with putting synthetic oil in it. It has always had a whining noise when you drove it and now it has a peck in the motor. Dont know whats going on but cant afford to take it back to the dealership. Does anyone know what the problem could be. Im just disgusting with this car.

Nov. to next Jan. is a good time for car buying, since automakers will put more incentive/rebates on new cars. But not every brand is honest with customers. In particular, as a recent buyer with PAINFUL experience, I recommend: stay away from KIA, if you look for non-cheating rebates. This is based on my painful car buying experience from KIA (it is not dealers issue, but just KIAs issue). To summarize the experience, I felt I was unfairly treated, discriminated or even insulted by KIA, who in the end took away rebate written in the car contract that I signed 3 weeks ago. Basically, the car I have already put >500 miles, But then KIA told me that I am suddenly not qualified for their rebate and I should come back to pay more). My detailed story was below. (I will post this to major auto websites to help buyers avoid painful experience of mine. Any question, please email me at **).I signed the contract and obtained a new KIA Niro 2017 on 11/24/2017 (Black Friday), attracted by low price with KIA rebate. I am a recent grad, with diploma dated on 09/2016, during that time I was with my F1 student visa (this matters). After graduation, I obtained EAD (employment authorization card granted by US government) and worked in the same university I studied. Basically, I have a work permit to be employed and my contract is annually signed due to nature of research task. ( this matters for KIA). My credit score ~790, with annual salary > 70K. With those info. I was qualified for KIA rebate (1000 dollar) and final price of the car is around 24K, checked by KIA and KIA dealer before we signed contract. I put 10K as down payment, leaving 14K as 4-years auto loan with KIA per rebates policy.I thought everything should work as the signed contract. However, from Dec. 4 the dealer contacted me for my visa and EAD, per KIAs requirement. I feel strange but I try to work with them so I send out my F1 visa and current EAD (C09 category) that my employer has on file. I even emailed my position/annual pay from HR, and leave contact of my employer HR so that they can verify files. Now KIA finance begins to send ridiculous statements like: Contract Returned (Unable to accept Employment Auth Card, Must have Visa) 1. Visa submitted expired 10.03.2014 - Not valid... acceptable visas H-1B, H-1B1, L-1, TN, O1, E1, E2, E3 2. We will need employer letter stating they will request reinstatement due to applicants Visa expired 10/3/2014.There are two hidden rules or tricks from KIA that they can not give me rebate: KIA does not accept my Employment Auth Card (EAD). They keep looking at my expired F1-visa but ignore my current EAD. They want me to have a visa in THEIR list, which is only a small portion of valid EAD from the US governments. (https://save.uscis.gov/web/media/resourcesContents/EAD_Code_Table.pdf). I wonder, if US government grants me EAD for work and I indeed got employed with a good salary (70K annually for 14K loan in 4 years), then Kias policy is a discrimination. Moreover, Kia is also ignorant, as visa does not mean you could work legally (like F-1 ), instead EAD is standard work permit. I and my employer felt very sad when KIA keep asking us valid visa and ignore my EAD.KIA could not finance with me under 4 years, as my current employer only sign a one-year contact. I need to have a employment with a 4-year contract from CURRENT employer AND 4-year valid visa (they do not say EAD). This is truly ridiculous. If 4-year finance requires: 4-year employment contract with the same current company, who can be qualified, given the uncertainty of many jobs? Dealer and I tried to satisfy this unfair KIAs requirement. After talking with KIA (from dealer), one way for me is to bug my HR +boss to write a letter stating that: they have a good intention to hire me for 4 years.I did that and my HR finally agreed to work on this. However, I was later told that even with the letter I still can not have the rebate, because my EAD (KIA always asked visa) was unaccepted, and I need to reinstate a 4-year valid visa in KIAs list by me or my employer. I felt truly insulted as KIA implied that they did not consider my employment as normal or even legal. My HR felt very unhappy, and asked me to leave KIA, why not choose other brand, like HONDA?. Unfortunately, I did not have choice since I drove the car for 3 weeks, returning the car will be very unfair/impossible to dealer. In the meantime, I tried to get KIA finance contact and talked to them directly. From the dealer, I got number and called KIA finance: 1866-337-5632. After reporting my case number: **, I was told that KIA finance would not talk with me directly, and they asked me to contact dealer. They just ignore my request. In the end, I and dealer have to take care about the extra money due to the loss of KIA rebate. I, dealer, even my employer, all harmed and felt this is unfair from KIA. I feel I am discriminated or insulted from the whole process. KIAs hidden rules on the rebate was a cheating and dishonest trick on customer or even KIA dealership. If one seeks honest rebate/incentive, stay away from KIA, and look at other brands (there are so many). If you insist on KIA, think about their two after-contract hidden rules/traps (that is after your employment/salary + credit score satisfies and contracted was signed) that I encountered: 4-year finance? OK, then do you have proof of 4-years of employment from your current job? Working on visa/EAD? OK, do you have current 4-year valid visa (not EAD) that must be in KIAs list? Other conditions (waiting to see other customers posting...)? Feel free to forward my experience to other potential autobuyers so that they do not have to experience I experienced.

I will start off with what everyone is thinking when reading these... Yes, I am only writing this because I am angry and if my experience was just normal I would probably not write anything, but they earned this. I am currently going through the passing of my mom and all the challenges that come with it. I returned her leased car 2 months early, even though she has multiple letters offering her deals to bring her car back early because it is in demand. Then I receive the bill in the mail weeks later advising she owes $950 for returning the car early and $65 for wear and tear which just seems made up. I attempted to discuss with them, but they said they would not talk to me if I am not on the account. I got the email to send the proof of what happened and sent in what was necessary. I sent it 3 times without any action. I called and finally got the one helpful person to help me with submitting these documents. A few days later I got a letter saying sorry for my loss and asking me what I plan on doing with the car. How is this not a joke? They had the car for over a month. I submitted a complaint to Kia America and after passing the 48 hour waiting period, I heard nothing. I just submitted an updated complaint as I just got another letter in the mail for my mom, thanking her for returning her car and another bill, as if they never interacted with me before. I guess they are playing ignorant to get to the strategy of what one of their workers said, Why dont you just ignore it for 120 days and then it will just go to collections. Thank you Kia, thank you for absolutely no help and adding more stress to the most stressful and sad time of my life.

So, this is the newest car Ive ever owned. Being 22, I finally established enough credit to buy a nicer car for myself! Yay! Ive only had my Rio for about six months. Its a 2013, so theres still a warranty left. Smooth sailing until my baby took a turn for the worst. My engine started making a knocking noise and I broke down 40 miles from home. Panicking, I wasnt sure what to do (as Ive never dealt with warranty issues). I then looked into my owners manual to see that I have roadside assistance! They stayed on the line with me, asked me if I was okay, and asked me if I had a way home (which I did). Eventually they towed the car to the nearest dealership. The dealership called me the next day letting me know that the engine had blown. My heart literally sank into the ground. He said he would put in a claim to Kia to fix up my little red car. I called everyday for a week, and the service manager hadnt heard anything back. So finally I called into corporate to see what was going on. They told me that they had trainees in the department that handles those things that were just getting the hang of things there and apologized for my wait. The next day I hear back from the service manager of my local dealership telling me that Kia approved my warranty claim because my car was well maintained, that I can pick up my rental car, and my Kia is getting fixed this week! Although having no car for week was kind of inconvenient, I understand that customer service can be kinda rough sometimes, especially with trainees. All in all Im happy that Kia took care of me. Thanks Kia! :)

Also need motor and transmission mounts. I have not even paid the vehicle off (have 6 months left) and cant justify spending $4700 to fix. Appealed to Kia for goodwill help and was denied. Hope this review is helpful to others.

Purchased a 2016 Kia Sorrento with only 49,880 miles. Carfax said it had 30 days and over 10,000 miles of powertrain warranty. Needs a engine and Kia is stating that their internal date was different and I was 2 weeks out of time but the Kia was at the dealership for a week and so I called to ask for some help. They said that they have a goodwill program since it just ran out but only in their internal system which I have ask for that info and had no response, and as you see by the 1 star they do not want to help in my case....

Yep, my paperwork from the dealer service center actually says the converter melted. They were unable to explain to me why this may have happened and only stated it was corrected now. Within the first 10 minutes of driving away from the dealership in heavy interstate traffic, I realized that sound was coming from my car. I immediately called the service center back to tell them the car now had engine noise that was not there previously and was told since it was the Friday before Labor Day to bring it back on Tuesday. Jump to Tuesday and after keeping my car all day, the service center decided that I probably needed an oil change even though it wasnt due. They then tried to tell me the technician recognized an 80% improvement in engine noise after the oil change was completed when there was no change in engine noise. After making yet another appointment with the dealer service center, I am informed that when the catalytic converter melted, debris was probably sucked up into the engine (which has less than 20k miles at this point) and they might be able to fix it or it may have to be replaced. Oh - but come and get my car and dont come back until I can provide them with service records showing that I have had the two required oil changes which were not performed by them. I am scanning and sending information that was requested yesterday today in hopes of..... I dont know what. I dont want to pay five more years on a car that has already been to the dealer going on five times (two by tow).

We bought a Kia Sorento and financed through Kia.... HUGE MISTAKE! This company is absolutely horrible to work with... We traded our Kia for a different vehicle in February. The Kia was paid off via the new dealership... BUT Kia has called us 3 and 4 times a day trying to collect on a vehicle that we no longer own. We have spoke to several people at Kia giving them the payoff information and at the end of each call they still ask for payment.... YES... They ask for payment for a vehicle that we no longer own. There is a time lapse on Kia from payoff to their collection department. These people are awful to work with. For a month they call us numerous times a day....even after giving them proof of payoff! Our Kia was a good vehicle.... Just do not finance through Kia financial. I wont ever buy another Kia just for that reason! Horrible, Horrible Customer Service!!!!

This car has been nothing but a headache! For starters, the mileage stated in my sales agreement is about 6,000 less than what was actually on the vehicle at the time of purchase. I didnt catch this discrepancy until about a month later when I brought it in for an oil change. I tried contacting a regional manager, who promised to look into the matter, but continuous staff turnover lead me nowhere and I was very pleased with the vehicle at the time, so I just gave up, which I clearly regret. After about a years time, I needed to replace the battery, which I paid for out of pocket because I was told it was only good for 30,000 miles. I just discovered this is not true and it should be covered for 2 years?! Soon after, my car broke down on Christmas Eve and I was told it was something to do with my fuel injectors. Once that was fixed, it broke down AGAIN a few months later and Kia kept it for weeks trying to figure out the problem. They put in a new computer, and when that didnt work, they replaced the whole transmission. This was covered under warranty.Just last week I was pulling out of a parking lot, and another car was speeding around a corner so I accelerated hard in order to avoid being hit. Then my car just stalled, so I pulled over and tried to restart it. All my warning lights came on and it wouldnt turn over. Also, a bit of smoke was coming from the engine. I had it towed to the dealership, and now they tell me the engine is seized because there was NO oil in the car. I had my oil changed less than 3 months ago, but I am just now due for one based on mileage. No oil lights came on prior to stalling, no signs of oil leaks anywhere, and no noises at all.The repairs are not covered under warranty because I am missing 2 service records, and there are times where I have gone about 1,000 miles over the recommended miles between oil changes (I was told about every 7,500 miles at time of purchase). There are 83,000 miles on the vehicle now, and I am so upside-down in my loan its not even funny.. not to mention I am 8 months pregnant! This car is the biggest regret of my life!

Kia Soul bought March 2014. 1 recall within 1st year. 6-18-15 the car would not start. I had to miss work and find someone to take me to the dealer. Hours later I was told nothing was wrong with the Battery. 7-24-15 the car would not start again. A little over a month since the last problem, I found someone to drive me to Kia after my car was towed and I had to miss work again. Hours later again, nothing wrong with my Battery. I called the Kia 800# while waiting, told there were 2 more recalls (they wont call them recalls anymore), these items noted as corrected on my invoice.7-27-15 the car would not start again. Kia called a tow truck again. I borrowed a car, could not call in work again. After multiple calls to Kia service, tow company and Kia at 800#. I was offered a loaner car and mine would be research more. Later that day per message on my voice mail, car is fixed, battery replaced. I bought a new car for the security and this is what I get. Stress on my mother and myself, miss many hours of work going on my record as missed work hours and gas for multiple trips to Kia.Updated on 9/07/2015: The parking and tail lights have come on in the middle of the night for no reason. It was discovered when going outside to get the newspaper 2 days and I woke up the next day worrying about my car at 3:00 am, the lights were in again. OBVIOUSLY the problem is not the battery. The computer needs checked with good machine for a short or something else, not the one at Dutch Miller Kia in South Charleston, WV. Car lights do not just come on in the middle of the night for no reason. Why this problem was not found after 3 visits in the summer? I am scheduling an appointment at my Kia in WV for 9-10-2015. I cannot miss another day of work.

Dec 2017 after 2 years of owning my car and 69000 miles my engine seized. T
Dec 2017 after 2 years of owning my car and 69000 miles my engine seized. This is a 2012 Kia Sorento. Ive argued with Kia dealership and Kia itself that I find it ridiculous that a car so new that the engine died all of a sudden. I was driving on a very busy road and it just stopped. No lights came on or anything. I was accused several times that it was my fault that there was sludge in the engine. I have corrected them each time that I have receipts of oil changes and not by their company. They wanted to charge me money for a diagnostic test that they never did until I disputed that and they waived the fee. I was forced to either pay over 5 grand for a new engine or I was almost convinced a few times to voluntarily repo my car and start new again with them by purchasing a new car. I still have 4 years left to pay off my car and in good faith I still going to try my best. I received a loan from my job and paid the rest. I have investigated before the fix and disputed that there is many other Kia engines failing and that Kia placed blame on the owners for not maintaining their cars for sludge being in the engines. I then read that there was an engine recall for the same issues but my VIN is not listed. Ive tried to bring this up to Kia that I find it a coincidence that my car has failed the same exact way as all of these other Kia engines. I believe that Kia is nothing but crooks and I will never deal with them again. They should pay for all of these faulty engines. 3 weeks after I replaced my engine I started leaking antifreeze. My Kia said theyd help me with coupons since I just did a huge service with them... 25$ coupon. Yeah thanks but no thanks for the help. I had to pay another 309$. I dont feel safe in my car. Oh and I forgot to mention that Kia neglected to tell me that the warranty on the used Kia engine is only for 90 days. I am disgusted the way that whole company treats their customers when it is us who gives them their paying jobs. As I said a bunch of crooks. My junker cars have lasted longer than this car. What is sad is I loved my car. At first it was great. Everything was working great. Then the engine went. Kia never told me about their common engine issues. I found this out myself and when I confronted them about it. They were all hush hush about it. After this car dies I will never again give my money to Kia.

2012 Kia Forte - On 6/18/13, I was driving the car and white smoke started coming out of the tailpipe. There were no warning lights or anything. I took it to Kia of Bedford, Cleveland, Ohio and was asked to provide service records because there was sludge in engine and they will not honor warranty. They wanted me to pay $8,000 for a new engine which I will not do. I researched Kias record and found all over the country complaints of not honoring warranties - Kia of Bedford had 81. When I talked to Kias Customer Service Manager, Ms. **, she was nasty and unconcerned and offered as goodwill - yeah right - to pay half and I pay half. I will not. I am trading that car in and will not ever, ever purchase a car from Kia.

Tower Hill Garage Chipperfield Kings Langley Hertfordshire WD4 9LR - I had my car serviced on 25 July 2012. When I went to get into my car, I noticed the driver’s seat was dirty. One of the managers walked behind me and could see I had not got into the car. I said the staff member who serviced my car must have had dirty overalls. We both could see the plastic cover that should go right over the seat was only covering the back and not the seat-base. The manager said in 20 years this has never happened at this garage, it must have happened before! I said that I do not use dirty clothing. He could clearly see how I was dressed, smartly. Also, I work in an office and have to drive smartly. The manager went on to talk about a hole in the mat, which had no bearing on what we were talking about. Then he went on to say he was happy to book it in to be cleaned, also the service manager walked past and smirked at me! The service manager originally told me when I arrived to pick up my car, to sit in the waiting area as they were having to complete my paperwork, which I later found out the car was still on the test drive, in which it had not been finished. I had to wait over 15 minutes to then pay for my car. This should have been explained to me! I am sorry to say the service manager did have a bad attitude. My conclusion to this was the garage staff did not like the fact that this is only a 22-month-old car with 11,950 miles on the clock and this was my first service and kept saying this should have been serviced, 10 months or 10,000 miles. The garage is fully aware that in the first year I had only completed 3,500 miles because I had to have an operation. Therefore, I did not see the sense in paying out good money for such small mileage. Again the garage staff were informed several times and clearly told me not to worry. All this experience has led me into - I will not be purchasing a Kia again nor will I be going back to this garage until I receive an apology and a gesture of goodwill.

My Kia Sorento 2009 diesel had 101,*** kms on it and since I bought it as new it has all type of mechanical problems. I told them the prob and I have a strong feeling it was the engine. They tested it and said that the car needed some parts. I changed the turbo and other parts which would cost over $1000 since warranty would not cover it cause its for maintenance and they charge me for filters more than $400. Since 2009 the car has in the mechanical shop more than 8 months, the last time the car was for 7 months, looking for some solution - at the end they changed the engine for a 3/4 engine. Two weeks after that the car was in the mechanic shop because did not turned on, and they change the turbo, and every week we need to return again for different failures. The car is in the mechanical shop again since more than 2 weeks without solution. This karma comes since 2009 and I do not have the chance to enjoy the car.I called back Kia and schedule an appointment to talk with somebody but nobody answer or return my calls. They never wanted to apply the warranty and in general charge me for a lot of parts that are warranty. We need to make a case for Kia to approve engine change. Since the car was under warranty although they never solve the problem and were waiting until the warranty expired. I tried to contact the corp many times but they never answer the mail or complaints. I decide to delegate this case to a lawyer cause I am so tired about this car and do not receive solution. The ECMs re-flash/recall, this ECM re-flash, consisted of updating the software originally supplied from the car maker, and changing the ECMs Air/Fuel Ratio Algorithms to suit the cars fuel air ratio. This new software seems to keep the turbos waste gate open too much during wide open throttle causing the turbo not to spool up all the way resulting in boost loss, and obviously power loss. My question is, why update the software, instead of replacing a potentially faulty part that part being the FCV or Fuel Control Valve? Oh yeah, its cheaper than re-engineering of the faulty FCV, and replacing it with one that does not have a design flaw, better and even more expensive is, why not replace it with a tried and true fuel pressure regulator? Oh yeah cost, so KIA decided to take the easy route it seems, and detune the car, so the car does not reach full boost saving the faulty FCV. It appears they want to remove the power because the turbo is located near the firewall and placed on the back side of the engine. If the pressurized part & the axial lode of the turbo fails, and is spinning at an average of 150,000, this can act like a grenade under the hood throwing shrapnel everywhere, possibly causing both driver and passenger injury or death, as the force of pieces of hot steel and aluminum from the axial load, plus the inertia of rotating blades at 150,000 rpm would penetrate through the firewall into the front seat. I am now afraid to drive this car, let alone trade it in knowing it could hurt someone.

I purchased this car new, have done all maintainer to car. At 64000 mile air go out, told my condenser was hit by a rock. Have seen over 1000 complaints about this same thing. This is a big problem with design. Told its not covered because I am over the 60000 mile warranty!! This is bull. I own 3 Kia, just purchased a 2016 Sorento and I am going to design something to stop this. I have own many different cars and this is the first to have this problem! KIA NEEDED TO RECALL THEIR DESIGN ON THIS CONDENSER and put mesh shield to protect it. Very disappointed with KIA.

I am writing for my roommate **. She is not in the best health. One year ago she bought a 2008 Kia Rondo after her 2006 Kia blew up a few days after the warranty ended. This Kia was a certified used car which means to us it is just a regular car. The first day the rear door was stuck. The dealer had to cut the door off to open it and replace the door. They paid for it. Since then she went to get it inspected and the front coil spring had broken, the brakes all the way around are completely shot and an exhaust pipe is leaking before the cat converter. They refused as well as Kia to repair anything since it is out of warranty. She bought an extended warranty which is useless, since in my experience, they never pay for anything. But since the car was coming from one of the largest dealers in the area we thought they would stand behind it... What a joke!!! One other thing that slipped my mind but it is not something they would fix anyway. I was driving on the interstate last summer with cruise on at 65 mph, got pulled over and got a 200.00 ticket for speeding at 95 mph. I paid the ticket and got the charges reduced so as not to get my license suspended. I guess we will have to pay for the repairs, but both Kia and the dealer will lose our business and everyone we know as well!!

I purchased a 2013 Kia Sorento from Drivetime in October 2018. In less than a year my cars engine seized up in August 2019, due to a recall dating back to 2014. My car was towed to kia and stayed there for a month, in that time I was not offered a rental car but had to pay out of pocket for one, A bill that exceeded $1,000 not to mention I had to continue to pay the car note on a car I didnt have. I received the car back in late September and was directed to the kia.com website to file my reimbursement claim. The claim took two months to process and yet here we are in January 2020 and I still dont have the money in which I provider full documentation for. The customer service line is the worst, they seem to have little to NO KNOWLEDGE on whats going on. Its ridiculous. I wouldnt recommend this company to ANYBODY!!!

On Wednesday, October 31, my Kia Picanto broke down. It was towed to Kia in Alberton (arrived 09:30). I had called Bennie and arranged. He said they might not have a chance to look at it the same day, which I understood. The following day (Thursday, around 15:00) I had to call Bennie back to find out what was happening with my car. He told me they were stripping it and they were suspecting the crankshaft. The following day (Friday, around 15:00), I had to call back! Now Bennie was on leave. I asked to speak to the principal as I was not happy with the service. No one was getting back to me and now my car is standing while hes on leave? I spoke to Jaco, who promised he would find out and call me back. Paul called me back. They were putting in the warranty claim and I would have an answer by Monday. I asked for a loan car and Paul said I should contact Kia SA. Monday I contacted Kia SA as I still have had no call from Alberton. I asked for a loan car and told Jessica about my issues. Jessica said its up to the dealer to provide a loan car. She will call me back. Tuesday Sean called me and said they sent my claim on Monday. I then called Kia SA and spoke to Brendon. Both Jessica and Brendon have not returned the calls!

My daughter was driving a 2005 Kia Sorento on the freeway when you got off an exit and just when she did she lost power steering, brake light and oil light went on. Luckily she had just got off the freeway or it could have been a very bad outcome. I am trying to find anyone who may have had a problem with this during the 2017 year (but missed the class action suit). I called Kia consumer line and they were nice at first. As soon the a case manager got my case, she completely back peddled and told me not only do I have to tow it, I have to pay for the diagnostics as well and probably to fix it too since its passed the warranty.I cant find a recall on the crank shaft pulley but I heard there was a voluntary recall. If anyone received a letter from Kia about the crank shaft bolt or anything similar for their Kia Sorento please let me know. I need something to hold them accountable. Just like many other forums Ive seen, they are washing their hands off it. Also willing to start a lawsuit with others as well.

My car has 52k miles and for some reason, the engine light came on one morning. I was driving to work and I was only a few blocks away from home so I return and asked my roommate if I can use his car to go to work while I take my KIA to the KIA service department. When I picked up my car, they told me the cars computer just needed an upgrade. I thought it was weird but I was happy it wasnt something worse. I automatically noticed a huge, I mean huge, drop in mpg. I bought the car because it was supposed to be good on mileage, otherwise I would have bought a Prius which was my other choice. I took it back the next day and they checked it and they said that they found nothing wrong. I was really upset. They gave me a pamphlet that I should read to show me how to get better gas mileage; I was really pissed. I know how to get the best gas mileage out of my car and I do regular oil changes using synthetic - nothing but the best and regular air filter changes everything. I went from getting between 33-37 mpg to 25-28. I am a very upset KIA own. I dont know what else to do.

Our problem seems minor when I read some of the complaints people have. The rear seat release, passenger side has broken which does not allow us to raise the seat back to a sitting position. This allows only one person to sit in the rear seat. The release was always balky but since it was used only sparingly we lived with it. Well it finally failed. If you look closely at it, the lever handle is connected by a flimsy plastic piece that broke. My dealer gave me price in excess of $600.00 to repair. Since we have 63,000 miles it is out of warranty. We were told to contact Kia Customer Services, which we have done with very little results. We have been waiting over two weeks for a response. We were told we could expect in two business days.

I bought a slightly used 2011 Kia in 2011. It was in amazing condition and I spent the next 7 years taking immaculate care of it -- never missing an oil change and keeping up with the regular maintenance. Last week, while driving, out of nowhere my car seizes and then starts making a very loud rapping noise. Engine is kaput. I had it towed to my mechanic (my cousin so he doesnt give me any bull -- he even does a diagnostic in front of me and shows me exactly what is wrong with the car and why). He says one of the pistons broke, causing tons of metal flecks in the oil (which I had recently changed). The piston had also hit one of my spark plugs, chipping off a tiny piece of it. He said the issue is the exact same as all of the thousands of Kias being recalled, and that this is a bad engine and its the manufacturer at fault for it, not me. Especially since I had taken such good care of it -- no sludge in the oil, no nothing.Call Kia customer care & open a case -- they say I have to have a Kia dealership diagnose it for them to help me. So I tow it to a dealership and they charge me $120+ just for the diagnostic. I try to give them the diagnostic from my mechanic and tell them about the broken engine and the spark plug and the piston, and they wont listen to me. I go home and wait thru the weekend. They call me Monday morning to say my car doesnt have a broken engine, but that the tiny piece of spark plug is causing the issue and they need another $350 to try to remove it and it may cost up to $1100. I tell them to wait and call my cousin to ask if that sounds right. He said, no, thats outrageous, and he calls them and makes them put the mechanic on the phone. Mechanic is a complete ** -- didnt even run a diagnostic, just looked at the spark and figured that was the problem. Cousin asked if he ran a compression test-- of course he didnt! Then the mechanic tried to say it would take 3 hours for a diagnostic then, and cousin said, how long does a compression test take? Guy says, I dont know, Id have to look it up to which my cousin replied, Its certainly less than 2 hours. You can send me an itemized list of what youre doing.I ended up making my cousin the one the dealership had to go thru. And, GEE WIZ! Turns out when they actually DID THE COMPRESSION TEST, the problem with the car is exactly what my cousin said was wrong! And do you think Kia stands by its 100,000 mile/10 Year Warranty??! Of course not! Because Im the 2nd owner. And does it say on the ads or the website that it doesnt apply to 2nd owners? Not unless you find your manual and look it up -- Intentionally deceptive and misleading. And REGARDLESS, this is THEIR FAULTY ENGINE. Customer care wont do a fricking thing and expects me to pay thousands of dollars for a new engine, even though they KNOW its their responsibility and theyve already had to recall all their other engines (but for some reason not the Rio...) My cousin even called Customer Care and said my engine is affected by the recall, theyre just trying to save face. I have years and years worth of oil change and maintenance receipts as proof that the fault is theirs, and they wont do a freaking thing to correct their mistakes.I have never been so disgusted. The incompetence of the dealership, the arrogance of Customer Care, the mistreatment of their customers, the lemons they wont take responsibility for... I WILL NEVER BUY A KIA AGAIN. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the inevitable headache and HUGE repair bills-- STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM KIA CARS AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN.I now have to junk my car after I had JUST replaced the breaks and done a bunch of other maintenance to it. I hope the company goes bankrupt and burns to the ground. They are the most corrupt lousy liars I have ever come across. Just do a quick freaking search online and you will find hundreds and hundreds of stories just like mine. It is unbelievable that an 8 yr old car with 98,000 miles on it would die with no warning and Kia just shrugs its shoulders. This is unacceptable. If anyone files a class action lawsuit please let me know -- they need to be taken down.

I purchased the Kia about 1 1/2 years ago. I have 48000 miles on it. Last week it started blowing white smoke out of the tailpipe. I checked the oil, which was fine, and then called and made an appointment at the dealership since it is under warranty. I took it in yesterday only to be told that the engine was ready to blow. I thought my day couldnt get any worse until the Kia rep told me that I needed to gather up all of my receipts and that of all maintenance reports on my vehicle. It would then be submitted to Kia to see if it met their approval for their warranty. This would have been fine except for the fact that the service person told me that if I ever went over 3500 miles in between changes they would decline the warranty. I have completed oil changes at home and the service person said that would be fine except that I have to prove that it was for the Kia. Now, there was no indicator light that ever came on in this vehicle. I have faithfully changed or had changed my oil and again NO INDICATOR light came on that anything was wrong. Basically I was told good luck in getting it fixed. I have read the other complaints and it seems like I am not the only one. I owe 26000.00 on this vehicle and they said that if (when) Kia declines the work then they will be happy to replace my engine for the price of $5000.00-$6000.00. Even if I didnt complete the oil changes that I did a BRAND NEW car should not have a blown engine in 48000 miles. After speaking with their rep it was made very clear to me that they are going to decline anything that I give them. When I asked about it being a Kia issue that the indicator lights werent on I was told Well I dont know why they didnt come on and Slug in the tank means oil leak I stated to the rep that if the seals leaked because of a problem with their motor that would also cause slug in tank too right? The guy told me You would have to prove that. I will never buy another Kia. Their warranty sounds good but is full of loopholes to make a customer believe that they are getting amazing coverage when what it really is is a way to screw people out their money, their car, and their wellbeing.

This is my second Kia Soul! I love the cars performance and the 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty (The best in the business)! That being said, several weeks ago, while driving northbound on the Interstate 5 freeway in densely automobile populated rush hour traffic, I got a flat tire. No big deal. That happens! What doesnt happen is calling Triple A and NOT FINDING A SPARE TIRE in the trunk upon the servicemans arrival! The serviceman was very accommodating. He explained that several years ago, spare tires were omitted as standard equipment (especially in small cars) to improve gas mileage (less weight equals increases fuel efficiency). My last Kia Soul was year 2011 so I didnt know there was no spare in the new models. Oh, by the way, I bought my Kia Soul from Alhambra Kia, Kia of Alhambra! NEVER BUY A CAR FROM THAT DEALERSHIP! Their customer service is absolutely horrible! In my hour of need, I called the dealership to ask why I had not been informed that there was no spare tire in my trunk and I was transferred to an answering machine! I left a message, but NO ONE EVER CALLED BACK!Anyway, I then called the national Kia Roadside Assistance Center where I spoke to an excellent receptionist whose goal was to serve my needs! She referred me to Downtown LA Kia. THIS IS ANOTHER KIA DEALERSHIP YOU SHOULD NEVER EXPECT PROPER SERVICE FROM! The national receptionist said changing the new tire I had bought elsewhere would be free! According to Downtown LA Kia, the service charge was $25. No big deal! EXCEPT FOR THE PRINCIPAL INVOLVED! I had already experienced a potentially traumatic event due to the companys negligence and now, I was just looking for someone, anyone from Kia to offer some form, any form of customer satisfaction! NO ONE SATISFIED MY NEEDS! The next day, I visited KIA OF ALHAMBRA and the manager apologized but HE DIDNT MAKE ME HAPPY! As result, I will never buy another Kia automobile! And I will never ever, never ever never buy a car from Kia of Alhambra!

Purchased a new Kia Soul 2010 in Antigonish, NS. Fantastic dealership there. We wanted the burner model, but they only came in one color, so they custom made a green model as a burner for us. Moved to Charlottetown, PE and it all went downhill. The gas mileage was horrendous in the car, about 15L/100km. Took it to the dealership and they told us the following. The air filter needs to be replaced. All the fuel lines are good. The mechanic however did not check the plugs because he would have to take the engine cover off. They wanted to charge us quite a bit of money to proceed from there. I declined, I can replace an air filter myself. Purchased and ready to install. I then notice my engine cover is missing. Two bright and shiny holes where the 2 10 mm screws would hold it in place twinkling in the sunlight. Whaaaaaaat? Note: for the record, I know it did not come with one factory installed, it was aftermarket. So I call Kia up and ask where my engine cover is. They say I didnt have one. Wait for it! But.. You told me that YOU DID NOT CHECK THE PLUGS because of the engine cover. So whats the deal? Where is my cover? I even provided a picture of it to them. They said they did not have it. Grr.... So I then asked, if I never had one (I did) why would I be told you did not check the plug because of it, which is absurd because 2 10 mm screws take approximately 45 seconds to remove. The service manager told me repeatedly that my car never came with one and he doesnt know why they would tell me that. I lodged a complaint with Kia directly and all they would say is that they were aware of the incident. No apology, no offer to replace my cover.Skip ahead 1 year, car taken in for inspection. Was told the rear rotors needed replacement, they wanted 400$ to replace them. I said no, I can replace them myself. I pulled the wheels off and the rotors were fine, no scarring. I had already purchased new ones so I put them on, changed the brake pads and took the car back. They checked the car and now the front ones needed replacing. I said the hell and I took the car to a brake specialist where he will turn bad rotors on a lathe to fix them. NO ISSUES FOUND WITH THE ROTORS.I took the car back to the dealership and told them who I had check them. They then said oh, yeah they are fine, but your tires need to be replaced. I told them to put the passed inspection sticker on the car, the tires have the appropriate thread on them and that they need to stop the ** with fake issues. They put the sticker on the car. So as it stands now, I am out $80 for the after market engine cover and $100 on rear rotors I did not need. Thank you Kia Charlottetown, I think I will buy anything but Kia next time. So in the end, I am out an $80 after market cover.

To start things off, I just want to say that I WILL NEVER purchase another
To start things off, I just want to say that I WILL NEVER purchase another Kia. Back in November of 2019, I hit a deer and had to have somebody work done at my local body shop. When that was completed, I had to take it to Kia of Lincoln, NE to have the new module that was put in by the body shop reprogrammed. What was supposed to be a simple fix, Kia of Lincoln ended up having my vehicle for almost a month and a half. They also had to fly a tech in from another state to figure out what was wrong with it and why the codes wouldnt clear. They hardly ever communicated with me on what was going on and when Id call in to get an update, they would have to call me back or say that they were still trying to figure out the problem. When I finally got it back, it seemed to function as it should. However, that didnt last long though. There was a several times where I would have sensor lights come on and the vehicle would act up. The most recent occurrence was when I was driving home from work and a bunch of sensor lights came on, my cruise control quit working and I had to pull over on the side of the interstate. I ended up having to shut my vehicle off and when I started it back up, it wouldnt shift out of park. I had to have it towed to a Kia dealership in Grand Island, NE the following day to see if they could diagnose the problem. They werent able to duplicate the vehicle not being able to shift out of park, but they did find that the module that was supposed to be reprogrammed when Kia of Lincoln had it, was never done correctly. This is why the sensor lights kept coming on. I ended up having a bill that I was told that I was responsible for since the issue was not covered under warranty due to it being related to the accident. I reached out to the dealership in Lincoln several times and they basically told me that they did everything correctly and that there wasnt anything else that they could do. This is when I decided to contact Kia Consumer Services to see if they could help me out. I explained what was going on to them and was told that Id get a call back the next day. A few days passed by and I still hadnt heard anything. I ended up calling back a little over a week later to find out that my case had been turned over to someone else. No one bothered to let me know once again. I reached out to them again a few days later to get some answers and was told by the person that I spoke with that it wasnt their problem, so I needed to contact my insurance company I had at the time of the accident. He also hung up on me after he proceeded to say that he wasnt going to argue with me. So, I contacted them see if they would help me out. I finally received an answer back and they agreed to cover the bill after they had already paid for the vehicle to be fixed correctly the first time when Kia of Lincoln had it. I think the part that irritates me the most is, the dealership that didnt fix it correctly the first time wouldnt even help me out and they are the same dealership that I purchased my vehicle from. Its going on a month now and Im still without my vehicle. Ive had to drive other peoples to get to and from when this could of easily been taken care of within a matter of a few days.

We took ownership of a brand new 2019 Kia Niro EX on 1/30/19, it would not start on 2/1/19. A tow company employee came by and took out a porta start battery jumper, hooked it up and the vehicle would still not start... It was put on trickle charge overnight and the battery was fully charged on [AM] 2/2/19 but same problem persisted... Resolution = have it towed in, no vehicle to use in the interim (UVO message says were closed, bye and roadside response says they do not deal with anything other than getting the vehicle hauled in). I have a hard time wrapping my head around what happened. The dealer says UVO should/can help but, unfortunately, if you need rental assistance and it is the weekend--- it appears you are out of luck (vacation with family/friends!). I think KIA needs to retool their customer relations department. Last KIA I buy and I will be sure to relate my experience (with no exaggeration) to those asking me how do you like your new car? ...Oh, do you mean the new (219) KIA Niro EX we bought on Wed and on Friday we had no vehicle to use, no communication/help except a tow company suppose I was out of town with my family... Cant make it up! I could go on but would rather focus my time on laying out my experience with KIA, which I will do. I would be more than happy to send documentation to anyone who is interested/in need of it.

I own a 2009 Kia Spectra and at 26,800 miles my transmission had to be replaced. At 82,200 miles, the 2nd transmission had to be replaced. This will be the 3rd transmission in 3 years. When I contacted the service manager of Kia of East Syracuse, he told me that headquarters will need to see the receipt for the transmission flush that should have been done at 30,000 miles. I mentioned to the manager that I thought it was at 60,000 miles? He stated that in areas where there are extreme conditions; i.e.; New York, a flush needs to be done every 30,000. I spoke to my mechanic and a number of people who are knowledgeable of automobiles stated that this is preposterous. I reviewed the manual and noticed that a flush wasnt needed until 105,000 miles for an automatic transmission. Secondly, the current transmission technically only has 57,000 miles. Since when do transmissions life expectancy only last less than 60,000? The dealership that I purchased the vehicle at is refusing to cover this under warranty. Headquarters is hemming and hawing about this and I still await their decision. As a result, I continue to be without a vehicle.

2013 Kia Sportage - I was driving on a parkway when the check engine, check oil and battery light came on and the engine completely seized. Thankfully I was able to pull over and not get into a possibly fatal accident with my wife in the car. I opened a case with Kia customer service. I have gotten nothing but the run around, explained that I am fully aware of the massive recall on thousands of thousands of Kias. This is exactly the issue that this recall is for and numerous reviews that Kia refuses to repair it and that they give the run around. I have filed a Better Business Bureau complaint and if need be fully plan to contact a lawyer. Repairs for a seized engine range from 3500-7000 for a new engine and I see countless reviews with the same issue with their cars and dealing with customer service.

Bought a 2016 Kia Sorento 10/2017. Was traveling for work related activity in FL. Engine seized. Had to be towed to nearest KIA in SE Alabama. Car has been down since 12/18/2018. KIA states will replace motor. But they dont seem to understand that when an original motor is pulled from a vehicle and the mileage on the chassis and body differs, the title becomes what is known to the States and lenders as a Salvaged title. You lose if any but all trade in value. Also articulating the circumstance to a future buyer can be complicating in itself. I will state for the record that this is my third KIA. First was a 14 Soul, 16 Optima I bought brand new left the lot with only 17 miles on the motor, at 40, was told the engine has a recall and would fail due to improper oil delivery system, so I trade up to the 16 Sorento, and well well, here we are at 22,miles and what do we have once again. A LEMON. KIA is ripping off American Consumers and should be banned from conducting business in the USA. They need to pack up and go back to Seoul. This is part of what is wrong with our economy. And the personal debt ceilings rise and rise, due to inadequate products, as soon as one car is paid for it breaks and time to repurchase again. We need to get back to the basics and make cars like they use to. I’ve got a 96 Chevy that runs as if it was just driven off the lot. Wake UP America.

My wife and I drove our vehicle on a service recall with KIA motors and during the conversation on the phone my wife mentioned the right directional was not working. Anthony current manager stated that he would give my wife a quoted price of 15.00 for the bulb holder instead of the regular price of 40.00 dollars. We were both grateful for the savings as we are now retirees. When walked up to parts and service counter we asked for the right directional signal and stated to the counter rep. that Anthony quoted us 15.00 Dol. for the part, he stated that the part is 40.00 dollars not 15.00. So my wife asked to speak to Anthony. My wife introduced herself as the one he quoted the discounted price to. Anthony denied the conversation. I was there next to my wife when this conversation was taking place. I told him, Why did you quote this part price if you were not going to honor it? My wife just spoke to you on the phone. How did we know your name and asked for you if this was not so. I told him as a previous manager for a marketing firm if you lack loyalty and good customer service you wont last long as quote (manager). For this reason my wife and I have decided to stay with Folsom KIA. Their quality of SERVICE IS AMAZING!!

Ive been buying a Kia since I was younger. And now I have had problems. First I had my back tire lock on me. Went to Kia and they told me that my car warrant was not in effect. Then my air conditioner went out and same no warrant, They said that 2 yrs ago. And now my clutch. My car is only 5 yrs old. And at this time Im at 10005 miles so again they say Im over just 5. I believe you owe me. Damn it. Wow I never had problems with a Kia. So how can I not have warrant back then when I was under 1000. You people are all lies... I will never buy another Kia again. I have not miss one payment or never been late. I cant wait to pay this car off and sell it.

I have had one problem after another since I first bought my 2011 Kia Rio one year ago. The day I purchased it I didnt even make it home before the check engine light was on. Last month the car began to shake, jerk, sputter and did not want to accelerate. Loses power at times and this is very scary in rush hour traffic. Check engine light flashed then stayed on. After getting it checked the code read multiple misfires. I have had a tune up and 2 of the 4 coil packs changed when they went bad. After getting new spark plugs the problem still was not fixed. Thinking maybe I got bad gas I got the fuel system flushed. Still not helping so I went ahead and got another complete tune up, throttle body cleaned, fuel injectors checked, all from a reputable ASE certified shop near my home because the car doesnt want to accelerate and wont make it very far. After all these the problem was still not fixed. I took the car back to the same shop because they did not know what was going on. It turns out this particular make and model has a TSB (technical service bulletin) that affects the electrical system. The shop did all the work for Kia and is for certain this is the problem. They feel that since Kia knows about the alert they should fix the problem. The shop kept my car for 3 days because they were determined to figure out the problem. When I called the Kia dealership they said they would not fix it since my car is no longer under warranty and it is not an official recall. When I went in person to present all my evidence and invoices they would not hear me out unless I agreed to pay the $100 an hour fee to diagnose electrical problems. My car has been deemed unsafe to drive and was towed back to my home for now. How dare they know about the issue and refuse to fix it. I have spent so much money on this car not to mention paying car notes when the car cannot be driven.

2006.5 Kia Optima EX - This is the worst car ever. I purchased it new and have had trouble ever since. First, the headlamps bulb on low burned out. The dealer rep said it was the alternator. A new one was put on and still the same problem. New headlamps were installed and still had the same problem. Lighting for nothing - I cant see driving after night on low beam. The starter went out. The factory alignment was bad and the dealer could not fix it; I had to pay to get an aftermarket cam for it and a front end alignment. The switch went bad on the 6-way power seat; the brakes wore out too soon for normal driving. Two sets of tires worn out due to not being in line when the dealer said there was nothing wrong with it. And the straw that broke the camel’s back: it is not worth anything, not even to a dealer. So having said all this, I would tell everyone to stay away from Kia. It’s a good looking car but a pile of junk.

I have gotten no help or updates from either the Moritz Kia in Hurst or heard back from anyone from your office. Im now being told by the dealership (18 Sep, 2015) that the vehicle is not cover under the 100k miles warranty! I would need to pay $1999.94 to get my car out. Why was this information not convey to me prior to all this work and time being spent on the car? If this was communicated to me ahead of time, I would have had my local mechanic correct your issue in less than a week for less the half the price. When the mechanic opened the hood did he not noticed the radiator had been replaced?Just so I have the sequence of event correctly stated: 02 August 2015, my vehicle overheated, with all ORIGINAL equipment. I have towing receipt. Vehicle has been in dealership since 05 August. 21 September 2015, I was told KIA will not Honor 100K mile warranty because I had replaced the original radiator that had leaked (AFTER the engine overheated). I never experienced such bad customer service. Bad practice... First and last time I will buy a KIA.

I took my 2015 Kia Rio into the dealership to have an electrical issue with my front passenger turn signal taken care of and was told that because the headlight assembly was cracked from the INSIDE, it was not covered under warranty. Now, I dont trust these weasels one iota, so I went in and look at this purported damage myself. What I found was a small crack in the plastic INSIDE of a capped off port, alongside a missing turn signal electrical contact. They claim that this damage indicates user fault and isnt covered under warranty. They further explained that because the car has damage on the front bumper (which is actually a minuscule scratch on the right wheel well that doesnt even reach the headlight) this indicates that impact damage was the probable cause. Now tell me, even if I somehow managed to hit something and miraculously avoid any damage to my front bumper or headlight or grill or anything else in the vicinity of the headlight assembly save for the aforementioned tiny scratch, how in the hell would I then have impacted hard enough to crack a tiny piece of plastic nestled deep inside of an assembly? No, the more logical conclusion is that this is a cheap piece of ** part on a cheap piece of ** car that this cheap piece of ** company will do anything to avoid having to own up to and pay for. Id recommend coughing up for a more quality vehicle from a more reputable and consumer friendly automaker. As it has become clear to me, KIA is neither of those things.

Yes, these cars have problems and they can be extremely expensive to repair at times, but I am a fan of the Sorento. I would not want to break the bank getting one because of the experience my mother had. She had to replace the transfer case at $140,000 for $4500, which was about equal to the value of the car. So she bought a Honda, sold me the Sorento and I had it fixed. Ive had a 3000 watt aftermarket stereo with just an interstate battery and the stock alternator, no problems. The white 03 Sorento is customized with double tinted windows, removed emblems, stock wheels and door handles painted black, headlights and tail lights tinted black, and aftermarket grille without the Kia symbol. People mistake it for a Mercedes all the time. Satisfied, but Id never buy one off the lot. Id get another high mileage one.

I purchased a 2015 KIA Sorento in July of 2014 at Brockville KIA. It was all I wanted it to be. On November 28/2014 I had an accident. I slid through a T-intersection and into a steep but not deep ditch. I expect I was going 10kph as it was in town and the streets were slippery. The Sorento sustained damage to the front lower bumper and front rim/wheel, however the air bags deployed (curtain bags-ceiling and both front seat air bags). The Sorento was taken to Carstar Brockville, which shares a lot with the Brockville KIA dealer where I had purchased. On Nov. 29th the estimate came in at approx. $23000 to repair. I was expecting to have truck ready in a couple weeks. It is now Jan. 26th 2015 and I still have no Sorento. Kia Canadas service has been frustrating and extremely disappointing, as they have made many promises about delivery, but to no avail. I have spoken to customer reps at KIA (claim#**) on too many occasions to mention. More frustrations....As far as Economical Mutual Insurance I believe, if they had done their job in November or early Dec. the Sorento would have been replaced. The parts (air bags/seats were and are still not available). Economical did provide me with a check for $1000 for non-use on rental for the month of Dec. (still in my pocket-not cashed), however it was the end of the benefit at 30 days. Kia Brockville, and Brister Insurance brokers are covering the charges for the vehicle I am using in month 2.Approaching the end of Jan. and still no delivery dates for missing parts. I have pressured for answers from all involved but have just encountered more frustrations and more false promises. As a first time Kia buyer it has tested my patience and understanding of the system. Economical has done a poor job, only doing what they had to and no more. They even suggested on several occasions that, It is not our fault and even suggested that the repair shop put the old seats in and let me drive until new seats arrive (no air bags). The shop refused... I am hoping that you can help.

I had the same issue with my 2011 KIA SORENTO. When I went to have my vehicle checked out in April 2013, no service indicator lights were on the dashboard. I actually went in due to a knocking noise when starting it. I was told I needed a new engine due to personal negligence. This information was determined at the second KIA dealership in Highland, Indiana. The first one I went to, in Calumet City, Illinois didnt want to service my vehicle at all even though I was just under the 60,000 mile warranty. My odometer was at 59,000 miles, give or take a few miles. They told me maybe Highland can take my car. Anyway, that same day and right after they turned my car away, I drive to Highland and Im told there is oil sludge everywhere and I need a new engine. At this point Im confused because my oil light and/or engine light was not on nor have they flashed or been lit up on the dashboard ever since I owned the vehicle. The mechanic at Highland was saying I never got my oil changed and even bad mouthed my husband when I said I didnt drive it often enough to know what was being done to my car.Anyhow, my husband and I can confirm that the oil has been changed. However, the auto shop we frequently use can only provide 1 year worth of receipts. The cars been sitting for about 8 months now. We could hear it getting worst as we were managing our money to have the engine replaced in 2013. We didnt want it getting worst while we were saving up the $6000. So its been sitting in our garage for the last 8 months until last month when we finally had the $6000 to get the engine replaced. That being said, our auto shop can only provide receipts for 2013 maybe one receipt for 2014. I got the car used in April 2012. So the car was serviced with oil changes from about July 2012 throughout 2013 and maybe one month at the beginning of 2014.My husband kept saying he never seen an oil light. After he brought it to my attention, I realized Id never seen an oil light either. We both can confirm having the oil changed as well as paying for an oil pan replacement. And not once did an oil light come on!! So we spent $6000 for an engine just recently at KIA and on the way home from the dealership, after dropping $6000, our car dies out! At this point, Im livid, and of course the dealership was closed and the next day was Sunday so I had to wait until Monday to call KIA. That Saturday evening we have our friend, a professional auto mechanic, come over to check out the car to give us his opinion on why the KIA died out on the way home from a $6000 engine repair job. He says we need an alternator! When I call KIA to explain what happened, the service guy says nothing was wrong with it when it left their service department. Our recommendations, written on the receipt, only described us needing new tires. Needless to say I am not trying to deal with KIA, so we let our friend, the professional auto mechanic, replace our alternator and while hes doing the job, he notices a bunch of screws missing!! Now Ive got to call KIA about that. Our friend explained that if everything isnt screwed in place that our car will start rattling and itll cause even more damage under the hood. Cant wait to hear KIAs excuse as to why they didnt screw everything back in where its supposed to be screwed in.

I have the KIA K900 year 2015. I have a recurring event my car tries to EAT
I have the KIA K900 year 2015. I have a recurring event my car tries to EAT me. Really I mean just that. To understand this let me let you know that this car is totally computer controlled. Everything is controlled by the onboard computer. There is no manual levers to work with. E Brake is computer controlled, shifting, starting, running, lighting, air conditioning and also the steering is drive by wire. So with that information here is how my car tries to eat me. I get into the car and put on my seat belt and step on the brake pedal and press the start button and my seat moves very fast all the way forward so much that I cannot move anything. Real, leg under the dash pressed hard into the dash well and the seat with not stop until it get where it wants to go then it stops moving. Now this is the terrorizing part. I cannot move the seat anywhere. It will not move back or anything at all. Now this is scary to me because I am thinking, Hey I am pressed hard against the steering wheel airbag if it goes off I am a dead man. I am a man with a disability and trying to get out of this was impossible. I had the police and fire to come help me and the fireman were able to twist me out of the car like a corkscrew. After this happen I had it towed to KIA Place I got it from and they worked on it and could not find anything wrong so to maybe fix this they did a complete computer reinstall of my car. Well this car eating me thing happened four more time and then the scariest thing happen. My car while I was drive down the road next to Safeway ate me. I could not move my feet to step on the brake and the right foot was on the gas pedal which I move sideways to prevent me from pressing on the gas. But the worst was I could not control the car because I was pressed so hard against the steering wheel I could not turn it but very little. Visions of hitting anything and having the airbag go off was scary. Of course this end ok, the fire department and police are the greatest and best people around. I was pulled from the vehicle again and the car when to KIA car company again. The company was really mad about this because my car tried to eat the service manager also. But KIA in the sky said not to repair it because they could not replicate the error. Now this top of the Line KIA Motors vehicle The all great K900 sit on the side of the road. I will never drive it again and the car company that I got it from understands but cannot help me and still to date KIA Motor in the sky will not make good on this car. Microsoft who programmed the car computer system says it is a defective BIO somethinga majiggy they are EPOMS thingies. But KIA Motors in the sky will not authorize a replacement of the computer thingy... I will never own another KIA Motors car at all.

I bought a 2018 KIA Soul in May of 2018. There was no visible signs of rust on the car at the time. After about a month of driving it I took it to the car wash. At close inspection after the wash I noticed rust on the lower part the back passenger doors (both sides of the car...same place). I contacted the KIA dealer, they took pictures and sent them with the info to a corp. office somewhere. Their response was that the rust was caused by an outside source and they would not cover it. So I contacted KIA in Cal. Got the same answer. Thats Bull. This is a new 2018 car...it should not have any rust on it, plus they should have took measures to prevent such an occurrence. I would not have bought the car if the rust was visible when I looked at it. Im still waiting on Higher Up to make their decision at the KIA Corp. in Cal.

We bought a 2008 Kia Rondo EX 2.4L brand new from the dealership and opted for the Kia Protect 5 Star plan extended warranty. Thankfully this covered repeated visits for struts and front end parts and included the premature timing chain (not belt) replacement at 140K. At 151K the engine throws a rod through the block. All oil changes performed and documented and reviewed and approved by Kia. However the Kia Protect warranty states two items: 1) Repair will be covered up to the wholesale value of the vehicle (originally I was told by Kia my wholesale value was $1500 but after a month Kia Protect reviewed and increased to $3500).2) Warranty repairs may include new or reconditioned Kia parts but also says at the discretion of the administrator .Response from the dealership: I spoke with the extended warranty company this morning and they gave me a max value they will cover, they will cover to a max of $1479.00, and they will only install OEM Kia parts, which means you would have to cover the difference, and new parts and install you’ll be looking upwards of 10,000.00 which would be a large difference to cover. Your other option is a used complete motor assembly that would be approx. 4700.00 plus taxes installed, but they will not cover any of it. Motor will take a few business days to get to us, then we would need a few days for install.I argued with both the dealership and Kia that may include does not mean must include. However Kia Protect will only replace the engine with a new Kia engine and will not consider a used engine. Estimate from Kia Protect (LGM FINANCIAL SERVICES INC.) The estimate is as follows: total estimate $9484.60. Kia protect: $3500 including taxes. Remaining balance to be paid by contract holder: $5984.60. There is a $500 difference in the amount if the head does not have be machined. Escalated issue from Kia Protect from adjuster, supervisor and manager to no avail. Will be looking for a new vehicle from someone more reliable that stands by their product.

For all of you people thinking of buying a Kia, read this. Bought a brand new 2012 Kia Sorento, not a demo, right out of the show room. At 800 km, head gasket had to be re-placed. At 1500 km, oil pan seal had to be replaced. At 2000 km, engine block had to be replaced. After arguing days with Kia Longueil and Kia Canada, we got them to replace the entire motor instead of re-building my engine. Then we went to pick up the truck and the electrical blew. Kia Canada does not stand behind their product at all! We requested to have the vehicle changed for a new one from the minute we started having these problems, and was told no but we will get free oil change. My truck that I paid over $40,000 for a new vehicle experience has been ruined by Kia Canada. I am now stuck with a hunk of junk. For my loss of time out of the office, anxiety and fear my truck will break down, Kia Canada offered me a free oil change. If I ever sell or trade in my truck which I will, what do I say when I am asked if any major repairs have been done to the vehicle? To my surprise Kia doesn’t stand behind their product. Too bad we do not have a lemon law in Canada. I would never buy a Kia again! If you research Kia Sorento, I am not the only person to have major problems with the vehicle or Kia Canada.Don’t buy a Kia!

This review is specific to Kias roadside service. Ive been very happy with my Kia vehicle. When I found myself needing a tow on a weekend night, Triple A phone wait times were 30+ minutes, but Kias roadside service responded right away. Apparently my policy had expired, but I said that I was willing to pay so that we could expedite this process and get me to a shop before it closed. At this time it was a bit before 7pm and the service center closed at 9pm, so I figured this wouldnt be a problem. Oh, how young and naive I was.First of all, after I hung up the phone with the representative, it took over an hour for some reason just for the Kia dispatch service to connect me with a towing service. I contacted an agent twice through the online chat system during this time and was both times given some generic message about how theyre working as fast as they can and your service is very important to us. Id like to add that Im in a major city, so its not like theres a shortage of tow companies around. THEN when they finally assigned me a tow company, I was told that my ETA for the tow truck to arrive was 45-60 minutes. Well, wouldnt you know it -- an hour goes by, and still no tow truck. This time I reach out to the tow truck company directly. He tells me that the driver got tied up with other tows but is now -- only just now! -- on his way over to me. Another hour goes by. Still no tow truck. Seattles big, but not that big. At this point the Kia service center is very, very closed. It takes another half hour just for the tow truck to arrive. During this time, Kia roadside assistance checks in a couple times -- once through a phone representative, and twice by text -- but each time when I tell them the tow truck still hasnt arrived, all they do is offer banal apologies and tell me my service matters. I understand that Kia roadside assistance only had so much control over the terrible tow truck company I was assigned. However, ultimately I ended up waiting over three and a half hours just for a simple tow job -- in the dark, by myself, in a part of town I didnt know well -- and Kia did nothing to help with this aside from offer meaningless phrases. No apology discount on service at their center, no attempt to find a faster tow service, nothing. Ill just stick with triple A next time; despite the initial long wait to speak with an agent, Ive never had such a ridiculous experience actually getting service from them.

I spoke to them and said I finally saw my year make and model was under recall. However, even though looking at their paperwork and agreed it was done, told me my car is not under the stated warranty recall of Kia Rio 2006 to 2008 because they assemble it in 05. Needless to say Im very displeased. And he was unwilling to discuss a solution as it has never been taken care of. I remain with warning light. And I like my little car but dont think I would buy again or my family... as they are aware of problem and will not correct. And the person I just spoke to said that their dealer was a liar, when they said the sensor was located in front passenger seat. Funny as Kia replaced seat free of charge during first year... but with same issue. My hopes to finally have fixed right when I saw the make year and model of my car under recall for my issue got slammed down again. I remain with red warning light and no resolve.. Kia has advised me recently that they had overstated the fuel economy ratings for the 2012 Kia Sorento that I purchased for my wife Barbara earlier this year. This is very disappointing to us as we bought this vehicle primarily based on the EPA mileage estimate on the window sticker. It is now obvious that we were deliberately misled by KIA. We feel like fools! Kia has proposed lowering the mileage estimate on our 2012 Sorento, only 1-2 mpg from 22/32mpg to 21/30mpg. Based on my experience, this is not enough. We are getting only about 25-27mpg highway and have done a lot of that type of driving since we bought the vehicle last spring. Reimbursing us for a 1-2mpg difference is woefully inadequate. If we knew that 26mpg highway was all we were going to get, we would never have purchased this vehicle in the first place.Every time we complained about the mileage disappointment, we were told by many different KIA personnel that we hadnt driven enough miles. Need to break in the engine and drive about 5,000 miles to realize the higher numbers, they said. Then when we passed 5,000 miles and didnt get the promised mileage numbers, they moved the bar and told us to drive 10,000 miles. Now we are at 13,000+ miles and still getting only about 26mpg hwy. This suggests a systemic issue where the entire Kia organization was involved in the cover up. The projected reimbursement of 1-2mpg for the difference between the EPA estimate and new EPA estimate does not come anywhere near making up for the difference between the promised 32mpg highway versus the 26mpg that we are getting. We are only experiencing 18mpg city and 26mpg highway, which is significantly less than the revised estimates of 21/30mpg. The proposed compensation for the additional fuel costs incurred based on 1-2mpg is insufficient and should be 3-4mpg higher. If Kia is truly committed to compensating affected owners fairly, for the unexpected fuel costs resulting from this lower fuel economy experience, they need to do more than this. As someone who spent over 30 years in the customer relations activities, I believe Kia will have 900,000 unhappy former customers who will do long lasting damage to the Kia/Hyundai brands. If Kia truly values its owners, they need to do more to make this right with them. This was the first Kia that we have ever purchased. Based on the way we feel, we will never consider buying another Kia or Hyundai product again.A car owner should have a special relationship with his vehicle. Being pleased at how it looks when he approaches the vehicle and fully satiated with how it performs when he is behind the wheel. However, every day when I drive our Sorento and watch the mpg readout on my dashboard consistently running 3-4mpg less than the revised estimates, I am overcome with feelings of buyers remorse and I feel deceived all over again. In addition, the proposed remedy does not address the negative impact on the value of our Sorento. Right now we feel duped, would never buy another Kia or Hyundai vehicle again and will tell everyone we know that they should not ever trust what Kia or Hyundai says.If Kia really wanted to build long term, trust-based relationships where customer satisfaction is central to their business, they would increase the proposed compensation. Apologies and regret wont cut it. I have significant regret at purchasing my first Kia product. If Kia is fully committed to doing everything to resolve this problem and want to make things right for those affected, increase our compensation.

My wife and I always bought Honda or Toyota vehicles but this time we decided to step out and give Kia a try. We spent time reviewing Kia Souls online and with people we knew owned them. And then we took the plunge and bought two. From the very first week we had problems. My wife could not get hers to start. We took it in three times and the manager over Kia side said You have to apply the break in Kias to start the vehicle. But I showed him in mine that it started just fine without applying the brake. Both Souls did not run right. They ran ragged and slow. It seemed to me that the direct fuel injected motor was not sync with the transmission. Our headlights would come on for no reason. My tire light would kick on but no tires were low and it would go off. The dash lights would dim in and out for no reason. The rain would leak in from poor sealant around windows. My brakes would lock with massive pressure for no reason. Each time we would go to dealer that would claim it was normal or could not duplicate the problem. After one month we were done! We traded them both in on two Toyotas. We had to go to 72 months to cover the loss on both Kias. Listen to me please!!! Listen!!! Look!!! Hear me!!! Kias are still junk! Do not buy one! The warranty is a sham to suck you in and make you into a sucker!!! This company should be forced out of business! They spend money on trying to improve their image but not on true research and quality!!! They make the outside and inside of their vehicles very appealing but the engine and components and electronics are still very bad!!! Please listen!!! Dont do it!!! I know you are reading this right now because you are diligent! Listen to me buyer! Dont buy a Kia!!!

We will never buy a Kia again. We have a 2011 Sorento and the 100,000 miles
We will never buy a Kia again. We have a 2011 Sorento and the 100,000 miles or 10 year warranty only applies to the first owner. We bought the car at 1 year old with only about 18,000 miles on it. The second owner warranty is only up to 60,000 miles. The transmission failed a little over that. I started looking and found the Kia Sorento does have a lot of transmission problems. They are fixing some of the 2-wheel drive Sorentos but as of now, not the 4-wheel drive. We took it to the dealer and was told they may do a good faith fix. Of course they came back with a NO. We had no choice but to pay $2400 to fix it. I have also read that people are on their 3rd transmission, so I can see why Kia only guarantees it for 12 months. They know it be break again, so we will sell it very soon. I find this completely unacceptable for a well kept 3 year old vehicle.
