Hyundai Motor Company, often abbreviated to Hyundai Motors and commonly known as Hyundai, is a South Korean multinational automotive manufacturer headquartered in Seoul, South Korea. Hyundai Motor Company was founded in 1967.

True to its maker's roots, the 2020 Hyundai Elantra is a no-nonsense, value-packed compact sedan. Every Elantra is a veritable bargain thanks to a long list of standard equipment. While the interior materials are decidedly budget-spec, the Elantra is easy to live with thanks in part to the intuitive, standard touchscreen that works with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The base engine is a competent but unexceptional 2.0-liter inline-four. More discerning buyers should look at either of the turbocharged models. The Elantra Eco is rated at 41 mpg on the highway, while the Elantra Sport makes a strong 201 horsepower.

Product Reviews:

I own a 2012 Hyundai Accent. It never has attained 40 MPG as advertised and stated on my car window sticker when purchased. A Class Action lawsuit was filed and reported settled in Feb 2013 and I am awaiting results. My experience with Hyundai has been the worst experience of any car company, and I am 61 years old. They are rude and arrogant. I will never own another Hyundai or Kia product... Ever!

My experience with this company since 2014 until now has been positive. Now this company has disappointed me greatly. One month ago I was told I could defer my car payments for up to 3 months. Two customer service agents informed me of this offer being available because of the COVID 19 outbreak and the job loss it caused. POLICY CHANGE PER HYUNDAI CORPORATE!! As of May 31, 2020 this policy has been changed without notice and definitely without consideration to millions of people still out of work. Hyundai Finance and Hyundai Customer Service will not defer any payments past May 31, 2020. If you call Assurance, they only help people who have loss their job not people on furlough. A billion dollar company just spit in their consumers' faces.

Most of the staff in Fairfax Hyundai Dealership, including supervisor, are rude and ruthless. The manager does not show up to the showroom, and does not return any calls. My Hyundai 2003 Sonata started smoking on New Year's day. The car battery got drained due to an electric short circuit. The car was towed, and after paying $582, within 24hrs, the car smoked again. The dealer explained that this is a different problem, and I must pay an additional $250 to fix the auxiliary plug in the trunk. The dealer blamed me and the things in my trunk, to cause the electric plug to fuse (never heard of this before). My car is stuck at the dealer, and I want to take them to court for cheating, not fixing the issue, and jeopardizing the life of my sister who got stranded with a smoking car in the middle of night. I have no car to get to work to, skipped doctors appointments, and my car is still with the dealer.

I purchased three Hyundai vehicles in less than 12 months. The third vehicle I purchased was the 2013 Hyundai Tucson. This vehicle has went to the shop for repairs from July to Today, September 16 for transmission problems. After replacing the transmission on August 13th, I had to tow it to dealer because I broke down on Sunday, September 14, 2014. This was the 4th visit to the dealer since the initial complaint in July. Wow to my surprise I was told at Hyundai Plaza Mall Service that it was the driving of the vehicle that made the axle jump out of the transmission. I or someone was throwing the vehicle in park, reverse without coming to a stop. I can't figure out if that was my driving behavior. Why did not this occur on the other cars I had bought from there? I give their service a thumbs down and I have definitely lost all trust in the Hyundai brand.

Hi all. I purchased my new Sonata in 2012. I have had 4 radios installed and 1 antenna. I have had the car in the dealer more times than I should have for a new car. I need a new radio again at 89000 kms. The first 4 were covered as the antenna was. Now they say I am not covered anymore as mileage is over the warranty. My dealer had told me it would be covered for the time I own the car as it is an ongoing problem. Well that's not the case according to Hyundai Canada. The radio I am told is $4000.00. I have had 9 lights replaced as they keep blowing after time. Hyundai says this is normal???I now have a recall about the engine but the dealer said they (Hyundai) don't have the parts available yet to fix the car. The car stalls out at any given time even on the highway. This has been very dangerous and I have had close calls trying to get to the side of the road. I just spent one hour and four min. on hold with customer service and still waiting to speak to someone. I will Never purchase another Hyundai ever. If anybody has the same issues I would like to read about them. Thanks.

I have had nothing but issues since I bought this car. I bought a 2015 Elantra Sport, with 800 miles on it in October of 2015. Seemed like a great car. I got a good deal (I paid 18,000), it's a top trim level so hopefully the quality would be good. First thing that happened, the dealership insisted I change the oil every 3,000 miles. The service manual clearly states 7,500 mile intervals. They scolded me and told me to bring it in more often. Okay fine, whatever.Second, the dealership did a recall repair (I never approved, they just did it) to my sunroof, which resulted in a damaged headliner, AND they dropped a screw in my defroster vent that I could hear roll around as I would make corners. I took it back and Hyundai approved replacing the headliner. They also took the dash apart to retrieve the screw. The work order said "removed debris", the tech didn't remember what he took out. It also still rattled and then produced a different rattle above 75 MPH. (So much more higher quality coming from the top end trim level). I should note they had the car for several days, no loaner car was given.Next, I noticed my steering column was loose after they disassembled my dash. I could move it side to side. Also the clutch squeaked when you released it. And the dash still rattled. So I took it back in. several days later and no rental car, the steering column was "within spec", they couldn't replicate the clutch squeak, and they weren't allowed to fix rattles and squeaks past 5,000 miles or something like that (came from the service manager). Next issue, the AC goes out. It's Texas. It's July. It's hot. "Can i get a loaner car?" No. They weren't sure if it could be fixed under warranty (30,000 miles now). How is this not under warranty?! They had the car for several days. Turned out the AC compressor "failed internally" so it was replaced under warranty. No loaner car. Now, most recently. The car has 59,700 miles. The engine starts to make a noise that sounds like a high speed rattle. My guess was the water pump impeller rubbing. So I took it into a different dealership. This time they can't diagnose it, but it's easy to replicate so there is no doubt there's a problem. 5 days goes by and they finally set me up with a rental car through Enterprise. One month goes by and they tell me they are going to replace the engine. That opened up a whole new set of issues. Apparently, the engine in my two year old car is now obsolete. Instead of buying a long block crate engine (like they originally told me) they are buying a short block and sending the engine off to an outside repair shop to build it.I went to the dealership to look at the engine (I do a lot of car repair, and I'm a Mechanical Engineer). The timing chain is hanging slack and they've removed one of the camshaft retainers. The car is parked outside, with no valve cover. Lovely. They tell me the engine is being replaced due to lack of lubrication (very vague and general). My guess was broken timing chain tensioner. I saw no low pressure light, and there was no presence of metal in the oil during the last oil change (I had a sample sent to a lab for analysis). They told me that it's a good thing I brought it in when I did. Because my Powertrain Warranty Expires at 60,000 miles! Apparently, because I bought it 'used' the 100,000 mile warranty doesn't apply to me.Well that was it. I'm getting rid of the car. I asked them to give me a price on what they'd buy it from me for. They responded with "because it's having major engine work, we can only give you $6,000". So basically. A $24,000 car, in two years, and 60,000 miles, becomes worth 25% of its original value. I am never buying another Hyundai.

My 2008 Hyundai Veracruz with roughly 60,000 miles on it has been at the dealership for two weeks not running. There is damage to the engine and excessive sludge build up which has also damage parts around the engine. I was told that the work is not covered under warranty because it is due to lack of maintenance. I was able to produce receipts that proved I get scheduled oil changes on my car and passed on this information to the dealership. I then called Hyundai North America and filed a complaint and requested to have this work covered under the warranty since it happened from no fault of my own. It has now been two weeks and a Hyundai North America regional manager has failed to reach out to me and contact me in regards to this. I call and email and still have no answers as to what is going on with my car. I have just received a phone call from the dealership that they received an email and that Hyundai will not cover the engine damage because they still find it happened due to lack of maintenance. Nobody from Hyundai North America has reached out to me to discuss these findings. This is the second Hyundai I purchased because I was sold on America's Best Warranty. This could not be less accurate. The customer service has been below par and the fact that they will not stand behind the warranty and fix what is broken is worse. I will never purchase a Hyundai vehicle again and I ask you to take my experience into consideration before you do. I understand that there is no guarantee that nothing will last forever and I accept that, I can deal with that. The customer service from Hyundai is what is completely dissatisfying and unacceptable.

I was a Hyundai customer for almost 15 years. I really liked my 2015 Genesis and was looking to get another Hyundai potentially upon turning in my lease. The dealership I leased from called me constantly to bring my car in early and told me I could get a better lease. I went into the dealership and they had nothing to offer me for a better lease that was close to the car I had and in fact they were quoting me a $150/month more for a lesser vehicle! Even after I left the dealership without a deal the same dealership kept calling me to come in as if they didn't know that I had gone there already. Terrible service! On top of all that, I tried returning my lease after finding a better deal and service at a Mazda dealership. All the local dealerships refused to take my car in at first! Finally, after a variety of different calls I was able to get the closest dealer to take my car in. Such a ridiculous process that I would probably not lease another Hyundai again.

I was surprised by my father when he got me a brand new Hyundai Tucson last May of 2011. My old car prior to this one was a Toyota Vios - manual transmission, so this is definitely something more special as it is bigger and it has an automatic transmission making the drive easier for me. I used my Hyundai going to work and it really did not disappoint me especially during rush hour. The handling of my Hyundai is very good. It is very fuel efficient and it accelerates smoothly - very zippy. It is very easy to drive and it doesn't seem to be too big especially for a girl like me who is not tall. The leg room at the back is also very spacious and could definitely accommodate tall people. The compartment at the back is also very big. I did not encounter any problems with my Hyundai up until the time that I sold it. I was really saddened when I have to say goodbye to it earlier this year because it was my favorite but my husband got a brand new Mitsubishi so we have to let go of our old Hyundai. Hyundai is definitely recommended!

The front panels forming the front end is opening up and the whole front seems loose. If I push on the fog light area it closes back up. This has happened to both sides. I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem.
