I purchased a Riding Lawn Mower from Lowes in August 2019. Each time I try to start the mower it has been an issue which has gotten worse. The lawnmower was run 2 or 3 times before the winter. A friend came over to cut my grass the end of March. The lawnmower cut off and would not re-start. After sitting a few days and a few tries it finally started. During the month of April it has been a chore to get it started and sometimes I have to sit and wait until it wants to get started. There is a smoke coming out of the motor. In the month of April I have replaced the battery and put oil in it. The beginning of April the mower registered 4.8 hours, the end of April it is on 7 hours. A majority of this time is sitting and waiting for it to start!Of course Lowes does NOT want to help! I called Husqvarna several times they DO NOT ANSWER THEIR PHONE! I spoke with a Husqvarna Dealer in the area, who informed me Husqvarna says they will NOT be honoring their warranty and I have to pay a trip ticket fee and for it to be picked up. I have attempted in good faith to contact Lowes, Husqvarna and an authorized Husq. Dealer. Husqvarna is blaming me for putting too much oil in the mower causing it to smoke, even though it was smoking before I put oil in it and NO one has looked at it yet! You have chosen not to fix your lawnmower that is a lemon! Consumer Affairs give me what options I have. Thank you.

I BOUGHT A Husqvarna UTV. It had a 14 hp B&S Vanguard. After 60hrs the engine destroyed itself. I followed every maintenance instruction to the T. Husqvarna and B&s stonewalled every attempt to recover my loss. THE DEALER, not Husq or BS, absorbed the cost of a new engine after determining I was 100% correct. After 60hrs, the new engine is using excessive oil. DONT BUY ANYTHING THAT SAYS B&S OR HUSQVARNA.

I bought a new Husqvarna Zero turn Model RZ5426. I bought this larger scale because I have about 2 acres to mow. It has just over 4 hours on the machine. It has been in the shop more than it has been at my home. The first thing I never liked is they cut sloppy cut. I figured I could buy better blades, not a big thing. First time I was mowing this summer, I broke of a blade bracket. I ran over tree branch, not big by no means, but it broke it off in many pieces. I had that repaired and after trying it again, I broke another bracket off in less than an hour. And after talking to the Husqvarna dealer, all they said was it was a common problem. I got that back home and began using it and I noticed a lot of deck noise. After checking things out, I found a belt pulley completely worn off. I checked the others and they are all very badly worn, as well as the teeth on the blade brackets. So now, the dealer is basically rebuilding my deck I only have 4 hours on it. I have tried calling Husqvarna customer service all they do is make a report and send it to this so called Army Answer group whos supposed to handle their complaints and answer questions. I have left 3 questions with them and not one has been answered yet. Have left a bad review of the model of mower I have and that was rejected. I have not gotten any reply back from Husqvarna and am very angry with all the problems Im having. I believe its a flaw in the mover or very cheap parts. I do know that the pulleys are made out of very cheap extremely thin metal. I cant see how that would last at all. Every time I take it back, all they can do is replace the crap with the same cheap junk they had in the first place. If anyone has any advice, please let me know. If I could find stronger parts that would fit this deck, I would spend the money. All I know is Husqvarna will not stand behind this product at all. I cannot find any emails for Husqvarna. All they have is Answer Army which is a complete joke. If you have any idea what I can do, please let me know.

Last year, it started... (what looks like oil leaking out of the exhaust-muffler) and it had dripped onto my concrete floor. It had smoked at times when engaging the blades - when the load was put on the engine. I called Lowes Advantage and filed a work order. They had a company that they use in Virginia to check it out. When I got it back, I read the work order and what was done. They did a service tune up on it. They changed the spark plugs, changed the oil and filter, and changed the air filter. Their paperwork and one of their employees said that they also sharpened the blades and detailed (cleaned up the mower). But, they didnt sharpen the blades or detail (clean the mower). The blades hadnt been sharpened and there was still oil residue on the muffler and chassis area. They said that I would have to pay for it. I called the Lowes manager and complained. I clearly said that I dont think its been fixed, that there seems to be an engine problem with the rings or the block. He said he would make a note of it and I didnt have to pay anything. Well, I didnt know what to do. What could I do?... Last week I mowed with it for about the fifth time since I had this done... Still the same oil looking leak as before. Yep, I think Ive been right the whole time, wasnt fixed... I just called 7-31-14 to complain again to Lowes Advantage. Theyre setting up someone to check it out again. I dont know if its the same company or not. I asked the person filing the phone complaint if theyve had similar complaints and she said yes. By the way, I bought two Husqvarnas at the same time from Lowes. And I bought extended warranties with each. The other one has been used the most though. But, now its starting to drip too. And all of the riding mowers that Ive bought new came from Lowes. An 18 HP 42 Murray Yard Machines MTD back in 1997. It was still mowing fine when I bought a 24 HP 50 Cub Cadet in 2004. Both were still mowing/running fine, but I sold them when I bought the two new Husqvarnas in 2012. Both have the Kohler Engines. Both 26 HP 54 cut...Since I bought them, Ive noticed that theyre putting Briggs Engines on them now... Have they had problems with the Kohler Engines? I paid good money for each... $2200.00-ish for the standard style riding mower and $2600.00-ish for the zero turn style riding mower... plus the warranties for each... And, when I first complained, I went to the Lowes store in person. No one really wanted to help me or they couldnt. They said that I would have to call the phone number on the mower... Well, it was the Lowes Advantage number. Couldnt they have helped me in the store, or called for me, or set up my complaint there in the store? I dont want to get stuck with a high dollar mower that isnt going to give me the service that I paid for... Sorry. Thanks, please advise... Im not going to check the attorney box below for me to be contacted yet. I will see if we can make this right first... Please help.

On April 1st, 2012, we purchased Tractor Husqvarna Model YTH24K48 from Lowes store 0730 without first reading the horror stories depicted in here. On 9/15/12, after 5 sorties and only 11 hours of operation, the drive belt broke. I called Husqvarna Customer Service (no-service?). The agent arrogantly told me to read the warranty, Sir, it specifically says belts & blades are not under warranty, blah, blah. I felt like a kindergarten pupil lectured by a mean teacher. At the end, I even apologized for my ignorance. I went to Lowes (0730/Douglasville, GA). What a difference! Sandra, the customer service agent, attentively listened to my plight and decided to call Sonja, the store manager, who also politely listened to my story. I got the belt for free and she apologized for Husqvarnas rude service. Once again I was impressed with Lowes customer service. I know I purchased a bad product ($2K+) but I dont blame Lowes. On the contrary, Ill continue to buy there any product without hesitation. Caveat Emptor. Its my fault; I should have done more research, i.e. on this site!

I just finished my third mowing season with a 54 inch Husqvarna lawn tractor purchased from a dealer not a big box store. Mine has the kawasaki 26 HP engine which works fine, no issues. My problem started when I noticed the brackets that are welded to the deck were starting to tear off. I guess the weight of the deck is quite heavy for these under-engineered brackets. My old 42 craftsman lasted 5 seasons before I sold it for $500 to get this one. The brackets on that one lasted almost to end, I did weld those. We modified the Husqvarna bracket with additional supports to help with the weight. I did not call dealer after reading about all the negative feedback about the company, I just took care of it myself.

Not going to write a long and very boring POOR ME letter here. I owned a Husqvarna zero turn mower for over 11 years. I decided it was time to buy a new one. BIG mistake. I paid $3.500 and it arrived with a broken deck. But since they took away my brand new zero turn mower, they will not tell me when I can have it back. It seems that after two weeks they might consider just giving me a new one since that is what I paid for. I have tried and tried and tried to go through channels but they are 100% useless. I will leave you with one message: DO NOT BUY a Husqvarna Zero Turn mower. You will (for sure) regret it right away.

I bought a Husqvarna Lawn Tractor lgt2554. My mower deck lasted about 6 months. I have to buy a used 1. I also bought the SNOW PACKAGE. My problem is that I went out to plow about 6-8 inches of snow last week and the right rear axle broke off. This is first time that I used this snow blade. I was on this machine about 5 minutes and the right rear axle broke. I called Husqvarna and explained what had happened. They told me that they buy different and assemble them. They had me call Tuff Torq - this is the company that purchases these rear axles for Husqvarna. The lady from Tuff Torq stated that Husqvarna builds these tractors with light duty rear axles. The manager stated that Husqvarna should have put bigger rear axles on these and that have had numerous complaints. I talked with VAN at Husqvarna he is the manager- they sent me to three repair facilities and everyone stated that this rear axle was too light for snow plowing. Then Husqvarna refused to repair my tractor.Im going down to Detroit Michigan in two weeks and Im going to meet with a large law firm. When I called the law firm for some information, they stated in the Consumers Reports that Husqvarna has a 1 1/2 approval rating on a 5 scale. The attorney asked that I call Husqvarna one more time for them to send me a new axle or for them to pay for repair of this tractor. Then he stated that he was going to check if he can start a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against Husqvarna.

The front wheel appeared to have a bent axle. On closer inspection, I found the wheel support hand broken free of the deck. The mower deck metal was not strong enough in that area and metal fatigue caused the wheel to break free. I have never had this happen and suggest that it is a major product defect. There was no dealer once they knew that it was past the warranty. The Husqvarna customer service line goes to a loop. I was cut off every time I press the number as instructed. If I stayed on the line, it played the introduction over and over. I thought that Husqvarna was a quality product, but the best thing about the mower was the Honda engine. I think I will buy a Honda mower.

I purchased a blower #115351227 less than 2 years ago. I have gardeners so I only use this thing about 12 times a years. It crapped out and took it to Lowes (a separate story), sent to so called authorized repair center. Its nearly 60 days later and now he tells me corporate is not responding, so he cant repair it. Tried contacting Poulan eight hundred number and this is your worst nightmare. Bottom line, I have a blower that is now technically out of way because my unit sat at a so called approved repair store that apparently was not approved. The hundred bucks for the blower is not my issue. I most certainly dont need the aggravation. If the CEO of Husqvarna gets to read this, I would hope heads will roll. This no way to run a company. I have owned a Husqvarna Riding Mower LGT 2654 for 3 years and have had a number of problems with this product. First, I had problems with the Lowes in Gonzales, LA giving away my owners manual. Long story short, they had 2 mowers, one was outside and one inside. The manual outside was soggy wet. Both mowers sold on the same day but I had to get a trailer to get mine home. When I picked mine up later in the day, there was no manual. My real problem is with the mower. In the first year, I had to replace the deck belt once, excessive backfiring, and the engine stopped running. I discovered the push rods for the intake and exhaust valves came loose. Forget using the warranty - it took 3 months to get them to even look at it. I made the repairs myself. In the 2nd year, you better own a welding machine, deck wheel brackets x3 , replaced deck belts x2, deck adjustment rod fell off and went under the mower. The deck bent a blade and destroyed the rod. I replaced blades and rod. Now we are early in year 3 and I have cut about 8 times. I had to replace the spindle for the left deck pulley 2 weeks ago and yesterday I replaced the deck belt for the 3rd time this season (belt # 6). It still backfires but not as bad as before I made repairs to the push rods. As for the headlights, they are just for looks. What a joke. This mower has never had the power that I expected and it has never had an even cut. My old Murray had more power and cuts better. I just cant get parts anymore. I will never purchase another Husqvarna. If you choose to purchase one, you better be a mechanic, welder, and electrician. As for the couple of people who claim to have had no problems because they take such good care of their mower, well, mine got washed, oil changed, greased, and checked as required by the owners manual (once I got one). So consider yourself lucky.

I bought a Husqvarna riding mower. First mowing season a bolt to the blades fell off and I noticed it would spin and get stuck easy. Had problems when it got warmed up sometimes you had to wait for it to cool off to start it again. Next year to it to a dealer and had it repaired. Long story short it had less than one hundred hours and it doesn’t like to start when hot again and the transmission went out. If you want a dependable mower and one you don’t have to fix all the time don’t buy this brand. I will never buy anything from them. Even the dealer said it was a bad model and he doesn’t sale it so Husqvarna knows it’s junk and won’t make it right.2400 dollars wasted and over 700 to fix something that will break down again.

I bought this to replace an old Craftsman riding mower that had served me well. This model has essentially the same body as the Craftsman so I was able to look at the old Craftsman to see why the Husqvarna was so low to the ground. The Husqvarna body is directly bolted to the rear axle while the Craftsman has a bracket that lifts the body about an inch above the rear axle. Because of this, the mower deck on the Husqvarna cant be properly adjusted. Also, when I use it to pull a broadcast spreader, the spreader is tipped forward too much and the mover deck is dragged through the grass the whole time. Ive since found many reports of this problem. Too bad I hadnt seen these reports before I bought it earlier this year.

I bought this mower to replace a 25 year old John Deere. After a while one gets tired of working on them before using them. I purchased it at Lowes in April, In May the belt came off so I called Lowes and they told me to bring it in. I did and after three weeks I picked it up. Right away the belt came off again. This time I called Husqvarna and they told me to take it to a dealer, I did. Two weeks later the mower is back home, I have finally been able to cut the entire lawn, but guess what? The belt came off AGAIN! Husqvarna used to make really quality equipment, I have a 20 year old chainsaw that has never given me any problem. If I had known this was the way they treat their customers I would have bought another John Deere. Now I have to take it back to the dealer and hope they get it right this time.

We purchased an RZ5424 mower in May of 2010. It mowed beautifully for one season. At the start of this mowing season, an idler arm broke causing the spindle that turns the blades to come off. The mower is still under warranty and has been in the shop for 5 full weeks now because the idler arm is, apparently, not to be found anywhere in the country. Ive spent countless hours on the phone with the shop where we purchased it (The Mower Outlet in Mooresville, IN) and with Husqvarna customer service. The mechanic has agreed to take the part to a machine shop in an attempt to fab a replacement because Husqvarna is obviously not the least bit concerned about getting my 5 acres mowed before it consumes my house. Very disappointed, will definitely not be recommending this manufacturer.

I just bought a Husqvarna riding mower from Lowe’s that I paid $1600.00 in May 2014. THREE months later I called the local dealer to come pick it up because what I thought was the blade failing turned out to be a Spindle. They called me the next day to tell me that the repair wasnt covered under warranty and that it would cost $175.00. When I asked why it wasnt covered they told me that the spindle was broken by serious impact. BY WHAT the freaking GRASS??!! I live on 2 acres of flat land. The same land that I had been cutting for the past 3 months. It seems that they find any excuse to not to cover something under warranty. Then had the nerve to say there couldve been a rock or something in the grass??!! Seriously, if a little rock can break my $1600 piece of equipment just goes to show how shoddy these things are made. NO way it shouldve broken. They obviously do not care about customer satisfaction. After only having for 3 months and a measly $175 repair, they shouldve just fixed it at no charge. Very dissatisfied. Live and Learn. Will never purchase another piece of Husqvarna equipment EVER!!

Problem with blade and bolt falling off new Husqvarna GTH26V52LS Garden Tractor, three times in the 1st year of ownership: Will Husqvarna wait until someone is seriously injured or killed by loose blade? I am angry and dissatisfied. I have contacted the corporate offices as well as the dealership and their home office with no response. On 6/2/11, I purchased a new Husqvarna GTH26V52LS Garden Tractor from STI Turf Care in Colfax, NC. The 2nd day I used the mower with only 5 hours on it, a blade and bolt dropped from the mower. I never heard anything and had mowed a while before I saw the blade and bolt on the ground, together with bolt threads up from the center of the star hole of the blade. I mow a lot of grass and my lawn is certainly not a golf course, but was on smooth and level ground when this happened. The dealer was not going to even come and pick up the 2-day old mower with only 5 hours on it or cover under warranty. They insisted I must have hit something to shear off the bolt. I did not. After planning to return the mower for full refund, the dealer finally agreed to pick it up and make repairs. Im sure they put the same blade and bolt back on the machine. Then in October 2011 (5-month old mower with 88 hours on it), a blade fell off again and I found the bolt within one foot of the blade. Perfectly smooth and level ground once again. The dealer again flatly refused to pick up the mower and make repairs under warranty. I misplaced the bolt in my garage and they priced a new one for $10.00 (no warranty since it had to be my fault per the dealer). I went to LTD in King, NC and bought a new factory bolt for under $6.00. The local repairman I have always trusted to service three John Deere and Toro Wheelhorse (I have used on the same grounds past 15 years without ever having a blade fall off in any of them!). He made the repair, sharpened all the blades and serviced the machine. I decided after their ripoff price for the part that should be warrantied, overall poor service attitude and not standing behind their product, I would not deal with STI again. All went well until yesterday, 6/16/12, with 111.5 hours and just over one year old, the blade fell off again on perfectly smooth and level ground. As with other two times, no noise or any idea blade was off until I came around and saw it on the ground. This time, I cannot find the bolt. I am extremely aggravated and disappointed considering the price I paid for this machine. I am not abusing the tractor or subjecting it to anything or anywhere my two JD or Toro have gone before. Cutting at 2.5 to 3 and no obstacles. This problem is not from the operator; it has to be a mechanical defect. I have not marked the blades so I have no idea if it is the same blade each time. What do you suggest? I received no help from dealership.

My girlfriend and I bought a new Husqvarna GT52XLS FOR $3,339.00 IN CASH on
My girlfriend and I bought a new Husqvarna GT52XLS FOR $3,339.00 IN CASH on June 21, 2013. The dealer did their set-up and delivered it that afternoon. I noticed that they did not fill the gas tank like they promised. So I filled it up and started to mow the lawn. About an hour of mowing, I started to hear a noise coming from the engine. I stopped and checked the oil and there was NO oil on the stick. I called the dealer to let them know and went down to get a qt. of oil from them. The mower took the whole qt. to put it between the lines.I went back and finished the lawn and the mower had 2 1/2 hours on the meter. I looked it all over to see if there were any leaks at all and saw none. Then I checked the oil again and there was NO oil on the stick again. I cleaned it up like I do every time I mow the lawn. The following morning, I went to the dealer and told them about it and asked them to replace it with a new one. They came by Monday morning to look at the mower and also found that there was no oil on the stick. Andy put in another qt. of oil and that filled it up. He then ran it for about 15 minutes to check for leaks or to see if it was burning any oil. He did not find any. Later that morning, they came by to pick it up so they could check it at the shop. That afternoon, the owner called and said that they couldnt find anything wrong with it from having it sit and run for 5.2 hours. On Tuesday morning, we went down to the dealer to see what they would do. The owner was in the back and did not come out to talk with us. Instead we dealt with one his employees. After 1 1/2 hours of my girlfriend talking to them, they said there was nothing wrong with it and that they would only stand behind the warranty on the mower. We asked for a new mower, a new engine (Kawasaki motor to replace the one that was in there), and we asked if they would fix any problem with the Kawasaki engine after the warranty ran out. Their answer was NO!!! So we asked to return it. They had to check with the owner who was in the back during the whole time. They gave us a check for $3,339.00, the same price we paid for it. When we took it to the bank that it was written on, we had to pay $7.50 to cash it.

I purchased Husqvarna GHT2754 garden tractor 9 years ago from a local dealer. The first year all was well. The second year a pulley bracket broke. Brought the tractor to the dealer for repairs. Was told the tractor was out of warranty so I would have to pay for any repairs. The third year a similar thing happened. Dealer told me he feels the mower deck was under-designed for its size, (54). Would have been nice to know before purchase. Repairs were made. Later that year or possibly the next the deck broke for the third time. Again this was a pulley mount. This time the dealer asked if I would mind if he sent it to a friend who has experience fixing farm equipment. A year passed with no problems but the next year the mower deck front mounting plate broke. I was so frustrated I had a friend fabricate a reinforced part and weld it. Last year the steering stopped working. When disassembled the plastic bearing had failed and wore through the steel mount. Again a new much stronger mount and bearing were fabricated and installed. Yesterday while installing a new drive belt I found the bracket for yet another pulley was cracked to the point it will need to be welded and reinforced as well. Each time I had a failure it cost me time and money to make repairs, hire someone else to cut my grass and even pay to have the dealer pickup the tractor to bring in for repairs. I wish I had kept better records and photos because I think I would be talking to a lawyer regarding this. I should have researched Husqvarna better prior to buying this tractor. I would have been far better off and money ahead, if I had hired a lawn service these past 9 years. My recommendation is to stay away from Husqvarna products unless you enjoy spending your free time rebuilding poorly designed and manufactured products.

I purchased a Husqvarna MZ5424 last year and it keeps breaking mower deck mandrels (the bearing housing that the shaft for the blades goes thrown). I have broken 5 of these, and now I am told that the part is on BACK ORDER. I thought I was buying a good quality machine; instead, I find that I purchased a wimpy pos that cant even mow a yard without breaking, never mind a field or something heavier. My antique John Deer blows this thing away as far as reliability.

The mower was bought 6/5/17 and has given me starting problems plus grayish smoke last 2 times I used it. Yesterday while cutting grass it began blowing smoke like it was on fire! My wife spent over 2 hours on the phone waiting on customer service finally talking to a rep who took forever to tell her to take it back to Lowe’s. She was directed to call the local store and arrange for them to come out and fix the problem. However, when she called the local customer service she was told they wouldnt send anyone out but they would pick it up for a fee. She asked if we could bring it instead. They said yes, but before closing. Therefore, we borrowed a truck to take it back to the Knoxville Lowe’s, 210 N. Peters Rd. 37923. It was over 25 miles one way. When we got there and unloaded it they took it into the store. My wife went in to get papers saying we delivered it as instructed. She was then told we would have to take it to another place. She told them we were instructed to bring it there and was not interested and now moving it to another location. She was then told she would have to sign a paper stating we would be responsible to pay them up to $300.00 for resolving the problem. Less than 3 months old with a 1 year warranty and now Lowe’s is trying to Stick us with a bill for what they told us to do with no mention on the phone by either reps about any fees. Was this a bait and switch like scam? I believe it was! My wife told the original rep we wanted our money back and he told her to take have it picked up. The second rep looked the first rep’s information and then demanded my wife sign the paper described above. My wife came out to the truck and informed me of the changes they demanded, either take to Anderson Site or sign the note saying we would pay them. I told her to get in truck and we left. We were supposed to get our money back and then switched to paying for them to check it out. RIDICULOUS!!! All we want is our money refunded or another brand new mower like the original one, but not a LEMON! Invoice ** for $1375.57. Transaction #** on 6/5/17.

Model YTH2454 riding mower. One month and one week after warranty is done the mower decides it wants to have the rear axle separate (break) away from the rest of the mower and roll down my driveway unstoppable. I could have died that day. Called them about it and they say I need to call an authorized dealer to have it looked at to see if it can be fixed at my cost. They also say there is no recall and that there is no problem of their fault because the warranty has run out.

I have had a YTH24V48 for over 3 years and it has been a great mower. We clean the air filter often and change the oil and filter as required. The only problems we have had is when I hit rocks. We move about 4 acres with it, during the summer each weekend during the winter about once every 4 weeks. Living in Texas the grass grows all year long. I recently purchased a Z254 and this is a beast. Great mower - starts and runs like a top. No problems with it at all. Again we change the oil, oil filter and air filter when required and clean it after every use.

Just to get ready for the upcoming winter, I took it out of my garage and tried, but the engine wont start. I bought a can of carburetor cleaner and applied it and check the gas line, but it still doesnt start. I called Lowes for warranty service as it is less than a year old, but they want to charge $130 for pick up and delivery charge for warranty service. LGTH22V48 - Bought mower new. Mowed my sparse lawn a few times and started to have issues with clods of cut grass falling from underside of mower deck where grass was packing excessively. When these clods fell into spinning blades the mower would bog and several times (5) the mower actually stalled (full engine stop). The last time it happened the left side blade arbor sheared all four mounting ears and tore out of the deck. This caused the belt to tear itself up, ruining it. I took mower to dealer who inspected and cleaned it trying to find cause. Dealer confirmed to me that he found NO indication of abuse/blade strike and in fact the broken arbor carried the least nicked blade of the 3. After several days dealer informed me that warranty was denied citing operator abuse. I was left with the bill and no resolution to the mower deck packing issue. I posted a summary of this issue on Husqvarnas facebook page and have had contact but no resolution to my complaint. Today after mowing my yard for the 2nd time since the repair I scraped out the mower deck and out came a pile of highly compacted grass 10 high and 23 across at the base. More than half of a five gallon pails worth! The packing issue persists with no resolution in sight.

From very beginning our 24HP YTA24V48 48 B&S INTEK V-TWIN with 3-year extended warranty would not pull upgrade once warmed up. The pedals also lock up and have to be stomped to work. Took to the same dealer twice during the first year. Each time they claimed they could find nothing wrong. Took to a different dealer. They said that the transmission is in a vinyl housing and that they have had many of these brought in with the same complaint. After two months, they said Husqvarna would not approve replacement of the transmission. After two more weeks they still told me the same. I picked the mower up and use only on level terrain. Bought a Cub Cadet for mowing the hillsides and it works beautifully. My three-year extended warranty was worthless.

I recently purchased a Husqvarna self-propelled mower from the local dealer. I could have gone to Lowes and gotten a slightly lower price, but why not? I thought I would get better service all around from a certified dealer. Boy, was I wrong. I brought the mower home and first off, it is way too heavy for a 70 year old man. The drive is jerky. The mower gets stopped by any irregularity in the yard. I end up raising the back and moving the wheels so it can get traction. What a pain. Well, after talking with the dealer I purchased from and an hour-long talk with Husqvarna customer service, bottom line is I cant trade it for another more appropriate model. I finally called the 800 number and was given a location where to take it. After a few days, I was contacted and advised that it would cost $82.00 to pick it up. First, they said it might be bad gas. Then they said it was trash in the carburetor and finally, I was told that they had to replace carburetor. If the carburetor was bad, it should have been covered by warranty. If it was changed just because it had scratches on it, I think I should have been called to see if I wanted to change it. I asked but was given the run around about why it was changed.

This is in reference with my Husqvarna rotary lawn mower (Model Number: 917.376822 21). My mower wouldnt start this spring. As it was still in warranty, I took it to an authorized repair center, Maximum Outdoor Equipment Service. Although I had prepared the mower for storage last fall by putting a fuel stabilizer in the gas tank, as described in the owners manual, I was told that the mower wasnt covered by warranty because the carburetor had gummed up. Apparently, the information in the manual was inaccurate and that a fuel stabilizer should never be used in a mower gas tank.I pointed out that the owners manual said to use stabilizer but I was told that it was erroneous information and that they were compelled to honor the warranty because Sears had their logo on the back of the book. I then went to Sears and was told that since Husqvarna had published the book, Sears could not be held responsible for the information in the manual.Additionally, I understand theres a bulletin from the factory regarding a fault in the carburetor on this model. So far, this farce has cost me $105 for something I feel should be covered by warranty. Your timely response with any help or guidance you can provide would be very much appreciated. After this experience, I will not ever purchase another Husqvarna product or anything powered by Kohler.

Each of our dealers is an independently owned business and we cannot control their business decisions. I have been very disappointed in the all wheel drive mower. I have a steep hill to mow and for over 25 years I have used Honda self propelled mowers without a problem pulling the hill. My Honda was in the shop and I needed a mower so I purchased the all wheel drive model - thinking it would work better on my hill. I used it three or four times and the mower stopped pulling, even on level ground. I took it back to dealer and it was repaired. Unfortunately, after it was repaired the same issue developed. The mower would not pull, even on level ground. Back to dealer for repair again. On its best day, this mower has not pulled as well as my Honda. I have two Husqvarna Rancher chainsaws and other Husqvarna products that I am very pleased with. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend an AWD all wheel drive mower. Based on other reviews, I am not the only person having issues with this model. I would hope that Husqvarna would research the issue I, and others are having, and provide a solution. I have no issue with the cranking or bagging with this unit. I do have an issue in having to push a self propelled mower on level ground.

Lawnmower 775BBC 21 rear-drive purchased 10/13. Ran great out of the box. Second mowing this spring, the blade-drive brake spring broke; visible inclusion at break. Disassembled and found out just how shoddy this thing is built. Everything under the deck is exceptionally cheap and lightweight. Nice paint-job, though. Repaired spring. Chief complaint has to do with design. You show this wonderful machine a picture of damp grass and it completely plugs. Have to hose it out, tons of chewed-up grass, big mess. Tilt it on its side to do so and it will not restart; wait an hour. In 3-4 of damp (not by any means wet) grass, it plugs in about 15 minutes. This is using the side chute, dont know how the bagger works. Deck washdown feature is utterly useless. The rear-drive differential consistently locks up when pulling backwards. Oh and the chute falls off at the slightest provocation. When I was a kid, Husqvarna was one of the names any self-respecting dirtbiker lusted after. I dont know if their other products suffer from the same globalization disease and I will not be finding out. Four hundred bucks shot on a piece of equipment that will not do what it was supposedly designed for. This aint rocket science, folks.

I was looking for a Chainsaw for my Wife. I choose Husqvarna. I found a 240 series 38.2 2 stroke motor. It was light, looked to be user friendly and really nice to look at. Before trying to start it I read the manual, gassed and oiled it up. I went to pull start it and it acted like the motor was locked up. I checked the chain break and it was off. We had a family emergency and I was not able to look at it for several weeks. I tried again to start it and it was so hard to pull. I then called the company called Innovations and told them my problem. They looked me up in their computer and found me. They did at that time let me know that it was not under warranty! I have only owned it for a few months I said, she told it has a 90 day warranty! I missed it on the paperwork that was sent with the saw. I then was stuck either taking it to the shop in Town or work on it myself. First thing on this saw I noticed three adjustment holes on the left side of the plastic cover. Husqvarna told me that the carb cannot be adjusted by the consumer and that I need a special tool that refuse to sell me! I then learned that it can be adjusted with a Bic pen with the ink inners removed. Armed with my pen and tearing this thing apart so I can get it freed up I finally got this thing to run and idle! This saw just ran rough and when I turned it off it was back to hard to pull! After working on freeing this thing up again, I got it to start and run. Well it stopped on its own and would not restart! After troubled shooting this thing again, I found a fouled Champion plug! I drove over to John Deere to buy a new plug. After I bought and paid for the plug I walked over to the saws. I found a Sthil saw on sale for almost the same price as the Husqvarna. So I bought it! The sales person that I have dealt with for years stated that that Husqvarna is not a Husqvarna, its a Sears Chainsaw!... Huh? I would if been better to buy one at Harbor Freight! This my experience with the Husqvarna 240 38.2 14 inch bar saw. The only thing I can say is if I would of known what I found out the hard way I would say to anyone that comes in contact with this saw is... RUN FORREST RUN!

I bought a LGT 2554 from Lowes in Muncie, In.. They also sold me a push plow for snow. The first winter I started pushing snow and broke the frame where the transaxle met. Called Lowes, they had a dealer come out and re-weld the frame (needless to say, I didnt have my tractor for the rest of the winter). The following summer I was mowing my yard for the first time that summer and again, broke the frame where they welded it. Called Husqvarna and complained. They had another guy come up from Milroy, In. to get it and fix it. I got to looking at the frame. It is a one piece stamped into the whole frame with a long throw off then bolted down. Got to looking at John Deere and Cubcadets and they both had a L piece angle iron running from the frame to the transaxle. I told the guy in Milroy about it and he got to checking it out. So that is how he fixed my Husqvarna. He was telling me that that tractor had too much torque for that frame. I have been pushing a lot of snow for 3 years now on that setup without a single breakage. Told Husqvarna about how to fix it, and they just simply said they would look into it.

Bought a Husqvarna YTH18542 Lawn Tractor from Lowe’s. After the first use, I found the parking brake would not lock in the on position. This is a safety issue, the mower could roll into someone or something. The problem was a pin or clip that joins the locking mechanism to the brake mechanism was missing. Whether it had fallen out or was never installed I don’t know. Called Lowe’s, they were great and replaced the tractor. Took the new one out, used it for two hours and guess what? Same thing. Contacted Husqvarna. Useless. “Take it to a dealer or we can send a part and you can fix it yourself”. No interest in trying to determine if it’s a design or quality issue. Thank God they don’t make aircraft!

3 trans in 3 years. Bought our new mower in 2016. We have less than an acre and only cut once a week during the season. We are now on our 3rd transmission and Husqvarna will not acknowledge that there is a problem with this, OR a recall. The honest repair manager at the dealership told me they are fixing a lot of these for this reason. He also told his boss that they should not sell this as they are not built well. There are plastic parts where there should be metal, which is one of the problems. If you are thinking about buying one, dont. If you are still going to get one, the first time you hear a grinding noise in back, take it in and hope that will be in the 12 month warranty, otherwise youre screwed. Terrible problem and Husqvarna doesnt give a crap. Sad.

An update on my mower: Since I am retired from the Military, I have the time to make sure I spend some days next spring, at the Lowes in Lima, Ohio where I purchased my Husqvarna, to inform potential customers to not buy a Husqvarna, to let them know Lowes orders Husqvarna products and has inferior parts installed so Lowes can sell them at a lower cost. The customers don’t know this, they think they are getting the genuine Husqvarna product with parts that are to specifications – not true. I am very confident I will be able to steer away at least 10 customers easily. I have done this type of tactic before, and it worked great. If I can steer 10 potential customers away that is an estimated 30K in lost revenue. ** Lowes and ** Husqvarna.

On June 10, 2008, I purchased a Craftsman/Husqvarna 19.5 HP/42 cut lawn tractor from Sears. Although I have owned it for eight years now, I have literally been unable to use it even once without the mower deck belt breaking. On average, it has cost me ~$40 for parts and labor to have the belt replaced then only to have it break again at the very next attempt to mow with it. The cost each time, when the repair shop charges for pickup and return delivery is more like $60. I have now concluded that the mower deck/pulley/belt design on this mower is very poor and certainly unreliable when compared to the Murray lawn tractors which I had owned and used over the past 25 years or so. In conclusion, this Sears/Husqvarna lawn tractor is worse than useless.

I had to send it to be repaired to the place I bought it from. Two weeks later they installed a new part and I could use it again. But I had to pay $200 because they said that Husqvarna did not approve this repair to be covered under the warranty. I called Husqvarna to find out why. I could not get an answer. I have owned several riding mowers and have always bought them used, this is the first one I bought brand new. The used mowers never had any problems with, this Husqvarna is worst mower I ever bought! I do not recommend this brand at all! In October 2016 I purchased a Husqvarna 125BVX Leaf Blower from Lowes. After 13 months of use it refused to start. I replaced the spark plug and still no start. I checked the compression with my thumb over the plug hole while pulling the rope and thought it was low. I took it to my local Husqvarna repair shop and was told in fact the blower had 55 lbs of compression, about half what it was supposed to. It has a two year warranty but was told that since I didnt purchase it there they would have to disassemble the blower and send pictures to Husqvarna to see if they would repair it under warranty. If they did I would have to pay for the repairs and file a claim with the company to get re-reimbursed. I thanked them and took the blower with me. I then took it to Lowes and they sent it to their authorized repair center. The center called after about a week and informed me that the blower had been operated with improper lubrication and with water in the fuel mix. Both things I knew to be incorrect. They told me it would cost me $207.00 to replace the piston and rings and rebuild the carburetor. I told them I could replace it cheaper than that just send it back unrepaired. I went to pick it up and was presented with a $61.00 bill for diagnosis. I told them to just keep the blower for the fee and they couldnt do that. Lowes marked the fee off and gave me the blower back. It has no evidence of being disassembled. I contacted Husqvarna customer service and they stood behind the incorrect diagnosis, and said they were sorry. So now I have replaced it with another brand. I wouldnt recommend buying anything with the Husqvarna name on it. It seems that they will come up with any kind of lame excuse to refuse to do warranty repairs.

The choke was not adjusted properly at the factory. A simple turn of the screw on the bracket which holds the cable allowing it to move freely. Jumped on and turned the key and it started right up! 3rd. Issue: After running the L.T. for about a hour on 5/15/2015 went to start and it wouldnt. Gasoline was pouring out of the manifold. I bought this mower new at Sears in 2006. I mow about 1 acre, and have had nothing but problems with it - bent push rods, fuel system, electrical system, and the tires havent held air since day one. I have 102 hours on the meter, but my wife has left the key on 2 or 3 times, and the meter adds hours even with the motor not running. It’s probably 50-60 hours and 20 of them were trying to start it.I have spent more trying to keep it running than it cost new. I had to buy another old riding mower at a yard sale for $250. It has been 10 times the mower than the Husqvarna. This Husqvarna 2348 has been the biggest ** I have ever seen. My advice before you buy one - take the money, buy some goats, or a good pair of scissors. It would be faster in the long run if you buy them. Make sure you have a truck and trailer so you can haul it to the shop. Youll need it.

This is the WORST garden tractor I have ever owned, period. Mine had 3 hours on it when, on a flat grass field, the Weldment Front Deck Suspension Husqvarna part # 574822501 separated from deck and started tearing (ploughing) the grass, while it was badly bent as the result of going backwards for just a couple feet. I stopped operating and removed the Weldment Front Deck Suspension. It costs $61 to $100 to replace... but Im bringing it to the dealer as I suspect my garden tractor could be a LEMON, because of the following additional problems:As mentioned before, the fabricated deck is very heavy and thus the tractor consumes a lot of gasoline and is hard to drive. This tractors deck shaves the soil on every small bump instead of adjusting and cutting the grass properly. No matter how high or low the deck is raised/lowered, it just does not work right. The deck goes straight on a slight slope and cuts the grass unevenly. Steering wheel is a joke and the covering on it slides down preventing me from concentrating on what I should be doing, which is mowing the grass! No... I must watch the steering wheel and the cover on it keeps on sliding down! Plus the steering wheel is not exactly round and is hard to turn. The entire tractor is hard to handle because it is too heavy for the engine and too awkward made and it gulps gasoline by a bucket! Prepare a lot of gasoline to mow your field with this one! The left (clutch) pedal is jerking already while idling. Something is wrong. I dont know what. The battery could not handle the starting and died. Took too long to start it and so I bought a new batter already! This is a major one - while mowing grass on a flat and level field (had 3 hours on it) the Weldment Front Deck Suspension Husqvarna part # 574822501 separated from deck and started ploughing or tearing the grass, while it was badly bent. I stopped operating immediately when I noticed that and removed the Weldment Front Deck Suspension. It costs $61 to $100 to replace... but Im bringing it to the dealer as I suspect my garden tractor could be a LEMON. My first one GT52XLS had to be returned as it was spitting lots of oil and the engine kept dying. I had quite an effort (struggle) trying to get a replacement! Now this is my second one, again multiple problems!Hard to start when cold. Much harder than my older, smaller Husqvarna. I overpaid for it by at least $250. Cost wise this product is unsatisfactory. Rearing this tractor is a joke, because the deck grass shoot protector is only made to go drive forward. When you drive backwards, the black rubber shoot protector keeps on jumping up and down like crazy unless you bend over and hold it up with a hand risking getting stones into your face. The whole tractor is awkward to drive and handles rather like a stump. And did I mention the consumption of gasoline on it is through the roof! No wonder it got a 5 gallon tank! The deck lift has weird and confusing numbering on it and is hard to operate. It gets stuck and I cant lower it or raise it to the max. It is just plain weird. And this is a new tractor with 3 hours on it! One of the wheels on the tractor is wobbling and it feels like it is going to fall off soon! The rear push or drive wire is so thin and looks so out of place with this rather large garden tractor. Why not designs something that looks and feels good? The entire thing wants to go straight when I turn. The deck drives it straight and down into the ground. It feels really weird operating this tractor, as if I was driving a stump and the steering wheel feels like it is badly dented and is wrapped with some soft material that prevents me from mowing the grass properly! This is a COMPLETE FAILURE of a product and I demand my money back or another product of my choice. HUSQVARNA refuses to replace it with a new one either. They say it is my fault that the weldment suspension separated from a deck. Yes! My fault for mowing grass with it! I should have kept it in the garage instead! Husqvarna told me to bring it to the dealership for repairs. How can you repair a lemon or something that was badly designed and made? This tractor is PURE TROUBLE! No wonder there are no reviews on it! People are probably returning these in droves!Buy cheaper, smaller ones with stamped decks. You will be wasting your money, time and health buying this one! I would avoid Husqvarna products. Buy Japanese or whatever. One good thing so far - the engine seems to be quieter. It is a Japanese engine after all. Shame on the Japanese for allowing to use their engine on this POS.Conclusion - no more Husqvarna products for me. I will try with Kubota or some other. When I had a Volvo and Saab, I had many problems with them and the design was so ugly. Sorry, but no more Swedish products anymore for me either. And in general, I stopped consuming whatsoever, cut my spending on food and cut other bills, only keep spending on my hobby. Im tired of increasingly crappy products and especially the Planned Obsolescence thats being widely practiced by todays corporations.

May 27th 2013, I had purchased a brand new Husqvarna yth2348 riding mower the hour meter just turned 49 hrs yesterday on May 26 2014 as I was mowing my lawn for the 2nd time this year, as I was tuning a corner I heard a weird noise. I looked down at the mower and seen 3/4 of the mower deck hanging out of the passenger side of the mower. I put the parking brake on went to step down and the belt flew off and waked me in the left ankle making the side of my foot go numb shut the mower down and found that the welds holding the brackets on the mower deck broke right off, as a welder/mechanic by trade of 30 yrs. There were welds that didnt take the welds were rusted 3/4 percent only leaving maybe a 1/16 of an inch holding the brackets to the deck. Went to the hospital for my foot which I can no longer feel my big toe and the side of my foot, Dr. says possible nerve damage. I called sears and Husqvarna and explained to them what had happened. I do have a witness that seen this happen. I will say I will never buy another Husqvarna product as they have cheapened their products, no quality control cheap porous welds. I am now getting the atty. gen and my own atty involved. Buyers Beware.

Husqvarna Zero Turn Mower 4 years old and garbage. I am currently working on this thing and have since the first day I bought it. Just like some of the vehicles on the road today, there shouldve been a recall on this thing. Hydraulics are terrible due to weight distribution, any small grade going downhill you better get ready to bail, it cannot hold its own weight. Broke the casting on the handle second time using it. Tension pull keeps bending and had to add reinforcements. As for the motor, Briggs and Stratton do not make em like they use to. Kills all the mosquitoes for sure. Bent the push rods. Three other people that I know went and bought the same mower. All four of these machines broke the muffler off. Had to replace the stator. Just all and all I shouldve bought a Grasshopper. Dont waste your money.

Now being told it would be quicker for me to pay for it myself and fix myself than to wait for warranty to clear for authorization from Husqvarna/Kohler! Hoping the best, expecting the worst!

I purchased a T435 Chainsaw in February of 2011. It has never run correctly and I have brought it to 2 different dealers for repair. I have spent time and additional money on repairs and still have a saw that runs poorly. I have spoken with 3 levels of Husqvarna support and they refuse to do anything about this issue. They also refuse to warranty the expenses I paid to get my saw back from the second dealer.I am considering small claims action for this problem. I would like everyone to know that Husqvarna will not stand behind there products.

Ive had my lawn tractor about three seasons. And the experiences have not been all bad. Ive got only about 50 hours on my mower and Ive done the regular maintenance. I try to keep it up because it was very expensive over $2k. Ive replaced the normal blades, oil + filter, air filter, fuel filter, battery. But recently the deck just up and fell off the mower. I know Im not under warranty with Lowes where I purchased it, so I call the Husqvarna No Customer Service Line and explained the situation. They said I was on my own with this problem because I wasnt in the warranty period. Seriously the welds broke from a manufacturer defect and its my problem? I was extremely pissed off at this reply after spending my good earned money on this practically new tractor. So I ended up having to remove the deck and getting the brackets welded back on so I can fix this mower. I dont recommend buying this brand mower because the manufacturer does not stand behind their product. Snapper has lifetime warranties on their decks and Ive heard nothing but good from John Deere customers. Also dont buy in the big box stores, go to the local dealers. The guys that posted on this feed that works at Lowes was right, its not his fault, but Lowes is not worried about selling you a great product. I hope this post helps someone not make the same mistake. Thanks.

DONT BUY THIS MOWER!!!! Poor design. Put blades to close to roof of the deck and grass sticks and builds. While it compresses it hardens... It does not throw the grass out from under the deck! We bought one last summer and the grass sticks to the underside ceiling of the mowing deck, causing serious damage to the bearings and belt. Now I have to jack it up. Get underneath, take a ridged 3 putty knife after every other use and chisel out hardened (Concrete like) grass clippings. It is not an easy chore for anybody to do. You should not have to do this every 2 weeks after spending 3 grand on a mower.

I am amazed at the amount of people complaining about Husqvarna products on this site. I have always owned Husky products and never had problems. They made killer motorcycles when I was a teenager and now I use their home and garden machines constantly. I bought a 350 chainsaw when I lived in the Colorado mountains, burning seven cords of wood a season and it has never failed to start on the second or third pull. Now, I live in N.C. where everything grows like crazy, using a YTH 2348 lawn tractor mowing a two-acre yard. Other than replacing a drive belt and a front wheel bearing the keeper ring, it has never given me any problems. I wonder if some of these people just dont have a good working knowledge of power equipment maintenance.
