2008 Honda Civic EX - Sept. 2013 with 105,000 miles, the AC intermittently would not work. Refrigerant was good. Eventually by early 2015 would hardly work at all. Taken to Honda dealer where I purchased the car new. There were metal shavings that looked like sand in the system. $3,800 to repair. Wife drove the car exclusively so here's what most likely happened. Compressor went bad in 2013 but still worked and probably made some noise at some point and should have been replaced then. Our fault to some degree, but the point is these compressors only have a shelf life. I've had numerous Honda's and never had compressor problems. Wish I had known, would have never bought the car. Also, I talked to the service rep and he advised me that HR-V have the same problem. Will do everything possible to have Honda reimburse all who had/will AC compressors going bad.

It has large front doors making it very easy for older or people with disabilities to enter easily. Very comfortable seats. Comfortable driving positions. Mirrors give good vision of vehicles on either side. Reversing camera is a god send. This car has 6 airbags for security. Great disc brakes. It feels a very safe car to drive. We had great service from Honda staff.

I was raised in a Ford family and we rode Honda bikes and three-wheelers because my dad, who was a mechanic until he became a fireman, drove Fords and rode Honda motorcycles. It's all I knew as a kid and years later, after I got married my husband - who raced motocross on a Mako - bought me a Honda ATC. I loved that ride and was completely confident in its safety. I have the 2 year Honda factory with an extended warranty on my 2016 Honda HRV. After 18 months I am having it serviced here in Naples and asked what coverage is offered to correct hazing headlight lenses to make this right. They told me because it was caused by the elements Honda does not cover this. I would classify this as poor quality and workmanship. Extremely disappointed lifelong Honda driver! Oh well.

I have complained for over a year to our local Honda Dealer concerning the dust that clings to the inside of the vehicle. The district manager was asked to look at it, and he could not see how the dust/dirt was entering the interior except around the door seals. The best they could do locally was to give me the customer service # for Honda Corporation. They gave me a case # and said they would call. 3 weeks later they called and said SORRY but there was nothing they would be willing to do. My husband and I have allergies that have escalated immensely. We have pictures and they also took pictures here in Helena at the dealership.

It's a good car. It's simple without a lot of bells and whistles, but it does the job and gets me around to where I need to be. Also, I liked how compact it was and that it had a sunroof. However, I wish it has a better engine.

BEWARE. I love the car (2019 Honda Fit LX) and it's almost perfect, with a few flaws that I had to get used to. One being the headlights don't turn off, the audio screen is always on, going from reverse to drive sometimes has me ending up in neutral, and the rear view camera is always getting dirty. Other than that I love the car and feel safe in it. Until today, after a month buying and driving this car NEW. I went to unlock the car and nothing worked. I went to try to unlock it manually with my key. The whole thing was dead. Had to call roadside assistants and they brought out AAA, who kept saying someone either was trying to break into my car or I pushed the panic button by mistake. No sir, all wrong. I'm in a personal gated garage. Anyway, nobody could figure it out but eventually they came to the conclusion that the alarm system just "glitched" and that I can come in and have the guy turn the alarm off. WTF so I can't use the car with a panic alarm or else I risk the car having me locked out until someone comes to fix it? What is this a stolen iphone. I mean come on! Being unable to get into my car was very scary considering the fact that if I had left my phone inside the car by mistake and needed to unlock the car there would be no way of doing so! Everything works fine again for now but I'm still feel uneasy about driving the car now. Again great customer service, nice car, and good driving vision from all views but one very unsafe experience. This car was purchased in Los Angeles, CA.

My 2001 Honda Accord EX V6 had transmission failure at 147k miles. I had the transmission rebuilt but not by Honda dealership. I serviced this car well and everyone knows there is a defect that will happen again. So I will be getting another car before my warranty from the tranny specialist expires (2 years or 24k). This cost me about $2800 for the rebuild.

The car is fantastic, but has a lot of nickel and dime expenses. It gets incredibly costly, but is a good family vehicle overall. It does what we need it to do. I like that it has a lot of room and three row seating. When you have a lot of kids that have a lot of stuff, you need a lot of room for car seats and leg room. But I dislike that it gets so expensive to keep it maintained. A low maintenance car would be much easier on our growing family. We could spend more on family activities if we were spending less on the car.
