Automobile Troubleshooting

The vehicle is not starting
If your vehicle either takes a long effort to start, or the vehicle just won't start by any means then the most predictable issue can be a dead battery.
You need to be very observant to correctly identify and troubleshoot such an issue with your vehicle. If in response to turning your ignition key the vehicle is silent then the issue is with the battery or connecting terminals for sure.
If there is a cranking sound while ignition then the issue might be with the fuel intake or the spark plug.
In any case, you can arrange a tow truck or if possible can jump start your vehicle using a jump starter kit to safely reach a nearby workshop for further investigation of the issue.

Engine Over-heating
Continuous over-heating of an engine can root for it to burn out. Engine temperature is shown with the help of a gauge on the dashboard –you do not want it to keep spiking toward the H on the meter.
Following are the major causes of engine overheating:
• Your vehicle might be over-burden, exceeding the load index rating
• Vigorously driving in the rough terrain
• Over-speeding
• Absence of oil or coolant
Stop as soon as you realize that the engine is heating up and trust that the motor will chill off. If possible, top up your vehicle with more coolant.

Battery
The battery is one of the principal components of a vehicle that needs to work appropriately. The life expectancy of a battery is around 5 years. The battery is made up of lead and highly corrosive acid. A normal problem that occurs with batteries is bad terminals.
By applying lubricants on the terminals of the battery you can keep the battery fit as a fiddle. In case you are not a big fan of maintaining a battery, what you can do is buy a maintenance-free battery, which will work for a very long period without any issues.
However, you can do the following to ensure the proper functioning of your battery:
1. Inspect battery terminal
2. Inspecting the connecting wires of the battery
3. Check the water level, if needed add distilled water. Be careful!
4. Using the voltmeter check the battery voltage for the output of 12 volts

Flat tire
When you have the correct tires, driving is sheltered and increasingly optimized. However, all the things considered, the landscapes that we drive on could influence and harm the tires in our vehicles. A flat tire is any driver's worst dream, but luckily many tire brands offer non-pneumatic tires. These non-pneumatic tires are not supported by the air, so they do not get flat.
In terms of battling a flat tire, you must have a spare tire and every one of the apparatuses for replacing a tire such as:
• Jack
• Wrench

Headlight
Driving with a bad headlight is dangerous; you basically become impaired to driving at night. Following are the scenarios of a bad headlight.
• Dim headlights
• Fuse bulb
To fix this you should always have an extra bulb in your car, as well as you must know to supplant it in the time of need.

Brakes
The most prominent issue among the most perilous issues is a bad brake, brakes normally wear out after some time. It is very imperative to stay aware of the upkeep of the brakes in terms of safety. Try to get the issue fixed before you face an evident disappointment.
Brake pads and rotors wearing out substantially more rapidly than anticipated – it commonly occurs due to the manufacturing fault. If you suspect such, make sure to consult a professional as soon as possible. Faulty brakes can be very dangerous.

Tire wear
It may not be realized when driving that your vehicle's tires are unevenly worn, however, worn tires can be risky because of their diminished grasp out and about. Make sure you do a proper inspection of your tires once a week and if possible every day. Walk around your vehicle to perform a speedy tire check, this will let you know whether your tires are worn out or not.
You can reduce or avoid tire wear by rotating your tires every 6000 miles. This will increase the life of your tire and reduce the rate of tire wear.

The gold part of my front Chevy bowtie emblem fell out on its own a few weeks ago, for no reason. The piece is gone. Car is out of warranty but like new. Called dealer/service... $40 for part, $100 for labor. The part fell out on its own. Submitted an email to GM customer care. After a week of phone tag all they did was call same dealer and confirm repair cost. The part is available online for $19. Chevy, GM and their dependent businesses all lost me as a customer today. Complete waste of time. No discount offered... NOTHING! Do not buy GM cars. They dont care about their customers after the sale at all. GM has no pride in their product.

I have bought 2 Chevy Cobalts and I will never buy another one in my life. First one I bought was about 3 years ago. I was on my way back from GA and a semi hit me and I spun out on the highway and totaled my car. Well my airbags did not deploy. No big deal. No one was hurt. I called Chevy to let them know that the airbags did not deploy. I heard nothing back from them. I bought my 2nd Chevy Cobalt in May. I let my niece drive my car and she pulled out in front of a car going 50 mph. Car spun out hit another car. GUESS WHAT. The airbags did not deploy... Everyone that was in the car was treated at the hospital. Called Chevy and reported it. LOL. Guess what they said the airbags will only deploy if they are hit head on. WOW really. So because the car was hit on the side and the back of the car, the airbags did not deploy. Getting hit at 50 mph should have deployed the airbag. But my claim DENIED because they were not hit head on. Thank God that they were not hit head on because I probably would not have my niece, son, nephew or grandbaby. I will NEVER buy a Chevy nor will any of my friend and family. What a joke this company is.

I have a 2012 GMC Acadia slt fwd. I have had over $12,000 done to this vehicle in just under 2 yrs at this time. Repairs are as follows: Front cover and rear main seal with motor mounts. Cylinder head replace due to oil in the spark plug tubes. All 6 fuel injectors replaced 3 at the dealer and 3 I DID myself. When the dealer DID the 3 they DID not change the oil (fuel was in the oil). After one day of driving the vehicle engine started to knock real bad (That is when I found out that the dealer DID not change the oil and the fuel dried the bearings inside the motor. One of the bearings spun on the cam shaft and put metal shaving in the engine.). New create engine was order the day after I got the vehicle back. The high pressure fuel pump on the engine failed and DID the same thing as the injector DID but DID not put as much fuel in the oil. Now that the vehicle is out of the factory warranty gm does not want to go back to one of the work orders and review the issue I had complained about at one point. The vehicle rpms fluctuate at low speeds between 1-2k rpm. Vehicle has a hard time pulling itself up a hill or on flat ground. The other one is vehicle feels rough until over 2k rpm. When we went to pick the vehicle up when they called us the service writer said that they could not reproduce the concern at that time. I believe the tech really DID not drive the vehicle and find the issue or DID not want to do anything under the factory warranty and that is why they said that. This is the worst I have been treated by a high corporation in not taking car of the customers issues. Now that the vehicle is out of warranty gm cares does not want to have anything to do with me, my wife or even the vehicle. They only care about the vehicles that are still under the warranty. The problem I am having now is that the torque converter is messed up and when the tech drove it in Aug he DID not feel anything due to he DID not drive the vehicle for a long enough time to feel the issue or DID not drive it the way the work order says when it happens.I am very unhappy for the way gm cares handled this issue. I think that they should put me out of the vehicle and put me into something different to keep me buying gm vehicle. If they do not help me I will not buy another one for the rest of my life. And I will make sure gm does not get any more money from me. I used to be all about gm and now I am turning to more like a toyota family instead of a gmc, chevrolet, and buick. I cant take anymore of gm bullcrap at this time. The torque converter from the dealer is around $1,800 for the work and part. I do not have that kind of money floating around like that. Gm just need to fix my vehicle under one of the work orders. Is possible to get it fixed without me having to pay for anything.

I wanted a taller vehicle and I like the 2003 GMC Envoy. I am tall and I really enjoy how easy it is to get in and out of. I also liked the price they were asking for it. I also favor GMC automobiles, I know they are dependable. This is the first SUV that have ever owned and I love it! I highly recommend this type of vehicle. I like the way it drives, the color and it isnt bad on gas. I also like the fact my heat blows hot as soon as I start my GMC. But I would make the leather seats heated. I have interior lights on floor in both front and back.

I took my 2015 GMC Terrain Denali Edition (Carport kept - excellent condition) to my local GMC dealer for service. My windshield wipers totally failed during a thunderstorm on a dark backroad at night. But for the Grace of God I wasnt hurt or killed - I had to figure out how to find a pull-off to address the problem. I took it in for service repair to my GMC shop and explained the problem - and also noted that wiper failure is a current problem with other year groups and models.I received a call that the wiper transmission failed - but due to it not being under recall I will be charged $351. I told them that it is absolutely unacceptable. Wiper transmissions should not fail at 85K miles - considering that I never experienced this type of problem before and have owned high mileage vehicles. They told me they had no power to do anything. I called GMC customer service and they claim they have no power to defer charges. Nonsense. I am lucky that I was not hurt or killed based upon their defective part. Further, GM was bailed out by my tax dollars because they are too big to fail. Well, my windshield wiper transmission was too important to fail, and it still did.

Buying a GMC is the biggest mistake ever. Their customer service is nonexistent & GM financial will ruin your credit. I’ve always paid ahead & am a year ahead now. They refuse to correct their mistakes - they just lost six figures in new personal & business truck sales. I have experienced terrible service from day 1 with GM - they do not care about people once you buy it. Will buy Ford from now on.

It is really bad and shame on GM to have a complaint from customer for more
It is really bad and shame on GM to have a complaint from customer for more than 17 months without resolving the issue that have found in the vehicle. It is kind of stealing people time and health. And I can say it is kind of procrastination to make the product out of warranty and forcing the customer to pay the price of faked warranty. Ive already lost my time with the dealer without having minimum profit. I tried to explain for GM that Ive got troubles with my Malibu 2012, but unfortunately they didnt consider it as a serious issue. Staff in GM has only the ability to ask the customer to take the vehicle to the dealer for service and checks, but they dont have the ability of sending a professional expert for diagnosing electrical and mechanical problems and find the suitable solutions.I know many Malibu owners who have same troubles with their vehicles, but they really get upset from the dealer and from products that come through GM. They dont want to waste their time within leader border or waiting a weak respond from GM. This lead customer to do service in other service centers that can be trusted more than GM service centers and more cheaper. For my personal issue, I went to the main service center for Chevrolet to do normal service and a check for engine light is on. Staff told me that they rectified the error. After about 50 km only, Engine light came back again, and then I took the vehicle to another service branch that belongs to GM/Dealer. Technician remove intake camshaft sensor on Engine, cleaned it by spray and air, and then put it back again. We went for road test to confirm that issue has gone. At that time no engine light comes on. After two hours Engine Light came back again. At this moment Dealer ask me to pay for checking and repairing. Where is the hell of warranty? It went immediately after the Gauge turns 100000 km (strategy of stealing customer money).I went to check the noise that comes from the wheels while driving. After road test and changing tire positions, they (dealer workshop) accuse the type of tires as it is the source of the noise. I checked my Malibu on my own. The Tech. informed me that the noise comes from the bearing that in long time the noise will increase and it will be necessary replaced by a new one. Surely, that result comes after several tests. I checked my Malibu on my own with electrician and he found that it has shortage in current in which causing flickering in lights and some movement issue. Light flickering is an issue that couldnt be solved by GM dealers. Ill be happy if this message will be forwarded to the Regional Director of General Motors. Where I can find the truth and who is responsible about such trouble? This is a customer has Chevrolet Malibu LTZ 2012. I got several troubles in different times. First I faced trouble in the A/C and it is solved. Recently it shows bad performance so I need to restart the engine. Then I found trouble in the touch button of the screen, and after complaint the dealer replaced the whole unit. After some time I notice that the vehicle has slow respond when I press on the accelerator to take off again if I reduce speed or if I want to increase it. The other problem is the flickering in the cabin lights that can be distinguished well and it can indicate that there is another problem in the vehicle, and unfortunately the dealer or GM couldnt solve this issue from long time. Last situation that I face with such model is that the engine shut off suddenly after it vibrate in strange way and the light of the check engine is turn on. After starting engine again there is a huge consumption of fuel and the smell of fuel is too much. I would like from you to give me the good way to solve such troubles. I was with contact with the GM to solve this troubles but I didnt get the suitable solutions that eliminate the whole problems. Troubles in list: Engine shut off suddenly on the road without any previous announcement. Slow respond from accelerator when need to speed up. Flickering in lights. Delay in the displayed timing. A/C components make noise and not cooling efficiently. Front Pumper in not fixed properly, so it starts tears slowly. Noise comes from bearing, and it increases with time. Dealer is not qualified to handle such products. Expensive spare parts. RECOMMENDATION: It is advised not buy GM products. If you buy a new product (car) means that you want to get relax with using it for at least 5 years without complaining or repairing. But with GM products, you will lose your time and money and nobody form GM will consider or respect that. I think it is time to let all people know about the fact of GM.

I purchased a new 2014 Chevy Malibu. Have been taking excellent care of it, oil changes regularly, etc. At 50,000 miles the engine locked up... no warning. Just quit while cruising along on my way to work. Now GM is replacing the engine with a reman but said my starter went out too and that isnt covered under the powertrain warranty and will cost $630. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER GM vehicle. Never. Engine replacement at 50K miles and I have to pay $650 and pay for my own car rental!? They should put in a NEW engine, starter and provide a loaner for free!!! Not happy with my lemon at all.

Bought a very expensive GMC Yukon Denali in Sep 2017 and almost a year from that, car started with engine malfunction and shaking while we are driving putting us on risk. We tried to take the car to the dealership 3 times for the same issue and nothing has been fixed. I scheduled the 4th visit this week on Wednesday but not sure if worthless. I do not trust anymore GM, GMC, the dealership and the customer relationship care. Definitely, the car maker do not take care of customers.

Car was purchased new less than 6 years ago, less than 66,000 on it. Have had oil consumption issues. Three weeks ago, check engine, StabiliTrak, and loss of engine power lights started coming on while idling at stop signs and lights and experiencing stalls at same stop signs and lights. Husband checked and even though the check oil light was not on, there was virtually no oil in the car, added 2 quarts. Took car in for service. Dealer said it was a stretched timing chain and fuel pump needed to be replaced. Take home and return the following Monday when parts are in. When they went to do the service, engine was found to have lots of metal in it and needed to be replaced at our cost as warranty is out. Dealer offered no other options.GM says they can offer no assistance as the engine was not torn down. Dealer then offered a 10% discount on labor. The engine is still costing me $3,900 plus tax etc. I am appalled that GM is making me pay as this the car was regularly serviced. An engine should not fail at less than 66,000. Customer service has pretty much said suck it up. We will never purchase GM again. Four of our last 6 vehicles have been GM cars and I feel really stupid that we purchased a 2015 Chevy Equinox for our childrens use last year.

I purchased a brand new 2021 trailblazer in September 2020. While driving home from work November 20, 2020 my breaks, power steering, and stabilitrack went out all at the same time. Mind you, I am driving on a very busy street in Indianapolis also coming up on a very busy intersection. Luckily the left turn lane had no vehicle in it, but there was a red light and I could not stop. I looked both ways and braced myself for a horrible accident. Thankfully, I was able to get my vehicle turned and into a parking lot without getting hit or hitting anyone. I had to have my vehicle towed to Hubler Chevrolet (who took very good care of me). I did not purchase my vehicle from them. When I got home and checked the mail, there was a recall letter from GM stating there has been a recall on my vehicle due to the breaking system and the parts being contaminated. Also, due to the vehicle being so new, there were no parts yet available to fix the issue. I opened a case through GM and it was a struggle from then. Over a month for them to let me know that it was not a manufactures issue, but they would fix my vehicle at no cost to me due to the recall. Fast forward two months. Mind you, I still do not have my vehicle, yet I’m still paying on it. I receive a call from Hubler that the parts came in, but they are not programming with my vehicle. Two weeks later I received another call that more parts came in and those were not programming with my vehicle. I then called GM to initiate a buy back. About two weeks later Hubler called and stated my vehicle is now fixed and I could come pick it up. I receive a call today from GM stating they refused my buy back because my vehicle is now working properly. I am livid to say the least!

Two weeks ago my engine light came on on my 2004 Chevrolet SSR. I took it in for routine maintenance and to have the light checked. About 10 days later, the Dealer contacted me and told me that they were unavailable to obtain the part needed and consequently, the engine light would not go off. The result of the lights staying on is that I am completely unable to use my eight year old vehicle which has fewer than 80,000 miles! I am unable to get the vehicle inspected, unable to sell it and if I were to drive it and something major went wrong I wouldnt know it because the light stays on!General Motors solution was to give me a list of internal websites? in order for me to search for the part myself. I had previously searched approximately twenty sites and a friend who owns a salvage yard is searching salvage yards for me. I have now searched another 29 internet sites GM provided to me and six salvage yards. When I bought this vehicle, I paid between $50,000 and $60,000 for it. It was the first vehicle I had ever bought by myself (following my husbands death). I am wondering if anyone has experience with suing GM over something like this. I consider this vehicle completely unusable and had planned to keep it until passing it down to a child of mine.

General Motors customer service personnel Romina refuses to call you back. If you do receive a call from her and miss it, she will leave you a message saying that she will call you back in 24 hours! If you call her right back and beg on her message to call you back, nothing! No calls! I have left her 16 voicemails begging for her help. I have left messages with her colleagues, where they in fact send her a message on her computer asking her to call me back. Nothing! Nothing! Nothing! Four days with no car and no repairs being authorized. By the way, this is all over a $35,000 Tahoe that the engine blew up in at 41,000 miles, a problem that should have been rectified in the first place.

This vehicle now has 308000 miles on it, and has only required normal maint and repairs the entire time I have owned it. The engine has only had the timing chain replace at 280000 miles. Still gets 20 mpg on highway, 17 around town, interior is still in good shape and body is tight & rust free. Although I have other newer vehicles I use this as my go to vehicle for daily use because I enjoy driving it. Just thought I would say something positive when it is deserved. My dealership attempted to assist me in filing a claim with GMC warranty department regarding my rims peeling. My bumper to bumper warranty expired a few hundred miles ago. I only have 36,000 miles on my vehicle and I havent even owned it for two years. GMC is attempting to state that I used harsh cleaner and will be responsible for replacing the rims. My dealership doesnt agree and believes it is a manufacturing defect.I researched the internet and found that many people have had the same issue. Those that still had a warranty were able to get them replaced but those that reported it after the warranty period were denied. Carla with GMC warranty was very rude and disrespectful. I asked to speak to management or another person and she stated rudely I am the final decision. Is this really how you treat your customers? While fighting this issue my gear shifter went out in my vehicle. This vehicle has more issues than my Toyota ever had with 75,000 miles on it! I do not recommend the 2017 Arcadia Denali to anyone.

We had to take our Buick in due to a leak in the sun roof. GM informed us that that is not covered under warranty. They stated the sun roof is not water tight. It is designed to have some water penetrate where it is collected in a channel and drained. The problem with our leak was that the drains were plugged by the material that landed on the roof and flowed into the drain channels with the water. Since it was foreign material clogging the drain and not a manufacturing defect it is not a warranty item on our car with 13,000 miles. Who knew that a roof was not water tight and cannot be allowed to get dirt or seed pods on it or it might leak. My dealer has stepped up to handle it but not GM as of yet. I have call my 2nd level customer service rep 12 times over 24 hrs and just get voicemail saying my call is important and they will call me back asap. GM has 2 things broken, 1 is obviously a poorly designed sun roof, the other is something you can only laughably call customer service.

Tale of woe with my Chevy Silverado. If you dont want to read this entire t
Tale of woe with my Chevy Silverado. If you dont want to read this entire tale of woe then let me sum it up here. Your Chevy truck may rust out to the point of being pulled off the road because of rust in as little as 84,000 miles making it a loss for resale or trade in. Ive had a Chevrolet Silverado since 2003. I purchased it new. It is an automatic V8 Z71. The off road sport model. This story isnt about the multitude of issues that it has had regarding brakes, brake lines, rotors, wheel hubs, and bearings. No, thats another story. Back in 2003 I worked out a price, with trade in of about $23,000. Since then, and as of this writing 2014, Ive put in about $7000 of non-maintenance work and parts into it. Yes, its going on 11 years old now but its only got 84,000 miles on it and it pretty much looks near new from about ten feet away. The other day I took it to my service station for an oil change and inspection. It seems that the frame is rusted out so much that an inspection sticker is impossible. The recommendation is to get rid of it as repair of the frame would be expensive as the rust is widespread and affects cross members that are pivot points. So, Im stuck with a truck that looks great on the outside but has a rusted frame that makes it junk status in a trade-in and unsellable privately as its not inspected. The vehicle has what I figure as half of its mileage. Id expect to get at least 160,000 miles instead of the 84,000 it currently has. Why? Because even though I do live in the snow belt in Maine where road salt is used, I have a Tahoe that is 14 years old, has 164,000 miles on it (double the mileage), has been driven in the same area and housed in the same garage and has a frame that has a few years left in it.I called GM. All Ill say is that I got a case number and promise of being called back. That never happened. I called and got another case number as there was no record of the first with the promise of a call back. That didnt happen. I took it to a chevy dealer, on my own, who lifted it and documented the issue. They called GM and I was promised a call from them. That didnt happen. I called again. My case number was classified as issue resolved. My last tussle with GM was a flat youre over warranty so theres nothing we can do. Two weeks to get that final answer. So what was I hoping for? A deal on a new vehicle? Some repair funding? An apology? Anything would have been okay. In looking for a new truck last week I did find out that Toyota had a horrendous frame rusting issue in some trucks from 2001-2004. What did they do about it? Up until 2012 they volunteered owners of these vehicles a new frame installed at Toyotas expense or 150% blue book value of the vehicle. Thousands of truck owners were contacted and restitution was made. What about after 2012? They will still come to some restitution on a case by case basis as long as you own the vehicle. So, a warning. If youve got a GM vehicle and have been happy with it like I have with my older tahoe, well thats wonderful. But, the next GM vehicle you purchase could be great or it could be a disaster that will drain your bank account and cause you to have to purchase a new vehicle before youre ready. With GM, its a crap shoot.Other notes: Notice driving/headlights out on cars as they pass. Most are GM. (my truck loses them all the time). Look for used trucks on Craigslist. You’ll see a bunch. 2/3 of them a Chevys. When I see someone in a parking lot with a Silverado truck that is about the same year as mine I ask about it. I hear the same tale of woe.

I took my 2011 Buick Regal in to the local Buick dealership two days after the car had turned 5 with around 92,000 miles on it. This was April 15, 2016. I was unaware that it had turned 5 and the warranty was expired and no one told me, so I thought the warranty was still valid. The check engine light was on and I called and insisted that they look at my car. The dealer tried to be too busy. They determined that there was around a quart of oil left in the car. The dealership told me that they were sure that the last oil change had been done improperly and that the place I had taken it to have the service had not filled up the oil. The dealer then changed the oil and charged me $100+ to do it.When I expressed my disbelief that I had driven 5,000 miles on 1 quart of oil with no indication of any issues the dealership, Halladay Motors Cheyenne, Wyoming, said to bring the car in every 500 miles for the next few weeks and they would check the oil to be sure there were no other issues. At around week 5 the car was over a quart low and the check engine light had come back on. The dealership began an oil consumption test at this point. I had to bring my car in every 500 miles/tank of gas and they checked the oil and topped it off as needed and indicated what they had done on a chart. At the end of the test they had determined that the car had failed the test and that the solution was to replace the pistons. The dealer ordered the parts and arranged for a rental car so the work could be done. They indicated that this would be warranty work, no cost was mentioned when I dropped it off.Later that day the dealer called me and said it was two days out of warranty the first time I brought it in and that the work would not be covered. Also, it would cost me about $2600 to get it fixed. I only own one car and I need it to drive to work etc. There is no public transportation available in my area. I really had no choice but to agree to have the work done and pay for it. I contacted GM Customer Service to ask if they would reconsider covering the issue since it was obvious that the issue pre-dated the warranty expiring. Also, it was within two days of the initial visit. I was told after I was passed around that there was a very good chance that that GM would reconsider and cover the issue, and that there were procedures in place that the dealership should have taken to make sure I was aware that the warranty had expired, but that there was a grace period and that cost assistance may be available. This was September 6, 2016.I received a various voicemails indicating that I should call back and was never able to re-connect with anyone until today, September 22, 2016. I received a call telling me that GM and the dealer had decided that they would not be covering the issue or helping with the cost in any way. Last week the check engine light came on again and I had to have the timing solenoid replaced for another $200. Until now I had been very happy with GM products and a 30 year customer. Im no longer going to be a customer of GM or Halladay Motors after the ridiculous amount of time and money I have spent that should not have been necessary.

This is what happened - On November 11, 2015 the tow truck took my truck to Rudolph Chevrolet which they diagnostic my truck with a non working cam and lifters. My truck is well maintained with 107k miles. I did my research and I realized there are many cases identical or similar to my situation. The dealership quote $4K repair (parts and labor). I placed a complain at GM customer service and they contacted the dealership and both decided they will help with $950 which doesnt look fair to me specially when I know there are other GM customers facing a similar case. Today 11/16/15 I called GM customer service and spoke to a unprofessional representative named Alicia. She denied to transfer me a supervisor stating the supervisor was not available since she was at lunch time. After arguing for another 8 minutes she place me on hold for over 10 minutes until the supervisor answered. Supervisor said there was nothing else to do. I asked her if there was somebody else I could talk to and she said NO, I asked her if there was another department I could place a complain, and she said NO. Supervisor said since my warranty expired there was nothing else she could do. Im only asking for help, I bought my truck in good faith and Im only asking to GM to provide help to a loyal customer.

I have been a loyal GM owner for 20 years until now. The past 3 years have been pure hell and if I can help just 1 person by keeping them from experiencing the same then I am good with that. It began when we bought our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ. We loved the truck and never planned on getting rid of it. Around 18,000 miles on the vehicle and it began having a vibration on the interstate between 65-80 mph. We took it to the dealership and were told road force balance multiple times. We tried another shop and had them road force balance. Over the next couple months the vibration got worse. It became so severe that my child not only complained about his eyes hurting but even vomited from it shaking him so much. A week later the vibration turned more into a death wobble that was absolutely terrifying. With no answers from the dealer we were told it might be best to trade it in. After only 11 months of ownership we traded it in on a 2015 Yukon Denali thinking different drivetrain and suspension would be better. Boy were we wrong. The first week having the Yukon my transmission began slipping. The dealership went ahead and replaced the converter. A few weeks later it was raining severely so I decided to take my son to school. I ran outside and jumped into the Yukon only to find water dripping out from around my sun visor. I took a video of it and took it to the dealer. A few weeks later my transmission began jerking so back to the dealer only to be told I need a new transmission. A month later around 22,000 miles suddenly the Yukon begins having the same exact highway vibrations between 65-80 on the interstate. At this point Im exhausted and literally broken. All I wanted was a reliable vehicle that my family could travel in and enjoy. At this point we begin looking into other vehicles and considering a 3/4 ton diesel truck because they last right? But wait... We go to a dealership and look at trucks. They evaluate my trade in and thats when I almost passed out. At that time my trade value on my Yukon was I believe 48,000 give or take. I was offered (are you sitting down?) $25,000. Yes you read that right. Im going to quote the sales manager... Wholesalers are now aware of the major issues GM is having with their trucks and SUVs and many are scared to buy them so they are only going to offer half of the trade value. I sank. I then panicked. Was I going to be stuck with this vehicle that we cant utilize? I tried other dealerships and no help. Finally I went back to a GM dealership and called them about a diesel. They gave me fair trade for my Yukon so I traded it in on a brand new 2018 GMC 2500HD Denali.I drove out of state to pick it up only to leave in my new truck and feel a Vibration on the interstate. At first I thought it was just me being paranoid so I gave it a couple days. Sure enough it became worse. Highway vibration between 70-85 mph. It has now been almost 2 years and I am still fighting. My truck still vibrates and will shake you so severely that you cannot ride in it for long distances. My transmission clunks and slips. It constantly stays in regen mode cutting my fuel mileage in half making it almost impossible to even afford to drive daily in town. Both of my power mirrors malfunction. My AC has already molded and mildewed causing me to get sick. My local dealership has already lied to me trying to blame my tires, they have tried to say I had a bent rim when I didnt (I took it to the dealer I bought it from and the rim was fine) and Ive been told my tires were bad and then they were good.I have been told youre a small girl driving a big truck, youll get use to it. I had a technician tell me that since its a heavy duty truck it should have a load on it to make it ride better. Well, we hauled a trailer with a car on it and the vibration was still there. For over 2 years I never said anything to anyone other than attempting to work with the dealership and techs. Ive been nothing but polite and respectful only to be continuously lied to and pushed aside. The fact that there are thousands of other owners out there experiencing the same Vibration and getting the same treatment is only more proof that GM has a problem and will not acknowledge it nor help the loyal consumers that trusted them and their product. So much for GM standing behind their product. Instead they attempt to sweep the issues under the rug so to speak and leave their consumers begging for help and answers.I have not only lost thousands of dollars. I have lost time and sleep. Im tired of living in a constant state of anxiety constantly worrying if Im going to be stuck with a vehicle that I owe too much on to trade in and cant sell. A vehicle that I cant take my son on vacation in. Shame on you GM for doing this. Shame on you for turning your backs to thousands of loyal and faithful clientele that made you what you are. I hope the truth comes out and I hope GM makes it right.

This is terrible. I had my 2019 GMC Denali 2500HD in for an accident repair since August 23rd. Have use my one month insurance rental up and have been without a truck which I use to pull my boat to make a living. I have used and exhausted all remedies which include calling my insurance company to get extension, Going to the dealer and calling GMC to get something to drive with a no from each of them. They cant give me a timeline for a part to come in. Its not my fault GM is on strike and Im being held hostage for this part. I have bought 3 trucks in 3 years and will never buy a GM again. Another note hit a concrete pole doing around 40 mph. Broke the windshield with my head and the airbag didnt deploy. 18k in damages which includes frame damage. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do.

Small bump in the front deploys driver airbag. We have been waiting since May 10-2019. Until now the drivers airbag part is not available. More than 5 months waiting for a 2019 Cadillac xt4 drivers airbag. Completely unacceptable. Will definitely not recommend it. Not reliable. We still keep paying the car payment and insurance without able to use the car. Cadillac Dealership is not doing anything as well.

Updated on 02/01/2020: I didnt get the car back until Dec due to the strike. I filed a claim with GM and requested either a new car or reimbursement. They refused to give me a new car and agreed to the reimbursement. They are only willing to reimburse me 2 car payments but had my car for a total of 3 months. Ive had to provide statements from my finance company and personal bank statements to show proof that I made those car payments just so they can reimburse me. Talk about feeling like a valued customer! Me paying my car note has nothing to do with me being inconvenienced over a product that I bought from YOU! They are telling me the dealership has to process my reimbursement because it will move a lot faster, however I got my car back mid December, it is almost February and I am still dealing with this and havent received anything! I am very dissatisfied with GMs customer service and the way they treat their customers! I will never purchase another GM car and I definitely wont be referring any one to either! I have a cousin who experienced some of the same issues with Dodge and her experience was smooth sailing! Original Review: I purchased a 2019 Chevy Camaro in June 2019 due to a car accident and my previous car being totaled which was a Dodge (Challenger). I had the Camaro for 90 days then had to put it in the shop due to safety issues! Passenger Airbag broken! This is a brand new car in which I should not be experiencing these type of problems. My car has been in the shop for almost 2 months now due to GM being on strike and the part to fix my car has not been available and no one can tell me when. I was told GM would not give me a new car but would compensate me once the problem is fixed! **! Im having to pay a car note for a BRAND NEW CAR that I cant even enjoy! VERY UPSETTING! Im totally dissatisfied with GM and I wish I never purchased this car! Shouldve just stuck with DODGE!

I have gotten a 2012 GMC Terrain in May 2012. I had been driving it since and I had brought it back for service three times. My MPG had been dropping from 10-20mpg and I only drive about .7 miles and it drops to 15mpg. My car shut off a couple of times when I drove it after I auto-started it (which every other car my family own this never happen). I told the service department and dealership, and showed the picture of my car. They said there is no problem but they never showed me any reading on the scan test they did. My car pulls and shacks every time you fill it up. Also, when you drive on the highway and at 400 RPM, it gets stuck between 400-500 RPM. The major thing is its all controlled by a computer which turns my airbags on in the passenger seat when I have my hand across the middle of the seat without touching it. I only have 1980 miles on my car. I called GMC itself up and they said they cant do anything because service said no problem with car. The paperwork they gave said between 16 City and 23 Highway mpg but my car reads only 9.9mpg which doesnt meet what the law says on my car or what my paperwork state on the car. Also, I had two gallons left and my gas light never turns on. But two weeks ago, I had four gallons left and the light turned on.

Took my Silverado with 38000 miles with warranty ending less than 30 days prior to Ferman Chevrolet in Brandon Florida; air was not blowing cold and the AC compressor and smelled like it was burning. Took them two days to contact me back after several calls to them. Finally they tell me I had a leak in the hi pressure hose and it would cost $560.00. Then by the end of the next day I call them again “again no communication from them“ they tell me, -By the way- the compressor is bad too and it will now cost you $1580.00. So, at this point I tell them no way. Then I can’t believe my ears- the service guy tell me fine but you still owe us the $560.00 for the work you already approved. Wow (I won that battle). I googled GM issue with ac systems and omg it’s a known issue. There’s even a class action suit. So I call General Motors and the girl tries to contact Ferman Chevrolet and get no answer. A day later I call General Motors back and the girl tells me she has tried to call them seven times so she escalates the ticket to a senior advisor. It takes three days for the senior advisor to call me just to tell me “more or less” that there’s nothing they can do for me; it’s out of warranty. I finally had it fixed by an AC guy that was recommended to me by a friend. He found metal shavings throughout the entire system. For $1300 he has replace the entire system to make sure there was no parts that would have the metal shavings. I write this in hopes that something can be done for other customers with the same known issue.

I am disabled and have requested to correspond through email, which was completely ignored numerous times. So I succumbed and try to talk to your district supervisor and have left numerous message. (ALL RECORDED). Then I get a couple messages back from her to call. I call and get voice mail every time. Please again respond through email. Also I noticed some of my maintenance trips to the dealer were removed from my records. That is fine. I still have my emails that I have sent to Slim (Service advisor) at Findlay concerning my transmission issues. Thanks a lot Chevrolet!!!!!!!!!! This is utterly awful the way you treat a 20 yr plus Chevy owner. I was actually going to trade this vehicle in and get a New Transverse but no way after this treatment.

I purchased a new GMC Acadia in December 2012 from Circle Buick in Highland
I purchased a new GMC Acadia in December 2012 from Circle Buick in Highland, IN. I had to make several trips back to dealership due to problems with the vehicle and poor management of the facility. On one of the visits, they backed my new Acadia into a pole. The repair work done left me with a far from perfect new vehicle. I also now have 1000 miles on this car due to the number of trips to the dealership and the miles for the bodywork repair. I called and asked for the general manager several times (Wayne **) and was never routed to him; he was always busy. On one call after they told me he was not there, he picked up the phone and started screaming at me. This was my first conversation with him. He called me liar and promised me that his dealership would never take my car back and we would never get a new vehicle after they crashed it. He also said he personally approved the repair work to my car and it was perfect. After catching him in a lie on the phone, he admitted that he approved the repair work from a picture that was emailed to him. I tried to work through the district reps but that was ineffective because they said the dealerships were owned and operated independently. I inquired about how they advocate for the customer and ensure customer satisfaction if they have no influence. I could not get an answer from them as they did not have one. When I told them that the dealership was lying to me and to them, the district didn’t care because they were independently owned and operated. This is the worst experience of my life and I am convinced that General Motors as a whole does not care about the consumer. I have been documenting all correspondences with the dealership and district reps. I do not have enough characters here to write all of the history, but I am convinced that I should reach out to the public (newspapers, news stations, websites, etc.) and share my story. I believe that if General Motors doesn’t care for people, I should enlighten them to my purchasing experience so they are informed. On one additional note, my Acadia has also been in for service on a valve on the gas tank. I am suspicious that this is from the accident but cannot get confirmation from the service department. If General Motors (outside of the dealership or district reps) does care about protecting the customer and they are concerned about customer satisfaction, then I would love for someone to contact me. I purchased a new vehicle and I received an almost repaired vehicle with 1000 miles on it. All I ever asked for was a new vehicle like my payment to Circle Buick was for. They have received their money and I have received a crashed car, ~25 hours of lost time from phone conversations/trips, lies from the dealership and an overall disregard to customer satisfaction. I am willing to bet that all consumers would love to hear my story as it definitely highlights why General Motors products should never be purchased.

We walked into one of the dealerships to check out the new Cadillacs and the new Chevys and have an idea about the cars. When I walked into the dealership, I sat in the back of one of their cars and when I tried to get out, I couldnt. After that, the sales person at the Cadillac dealership approached us and I was disgusted by her attitude. We talked about leasing an SRX and she told us she would like to get us into a 2013 SRX. The car that we brought in had less than 8,000 miles on it. She offered to appraise the vehicle, but to our surprise, she came back with a high lease payment with high down payment for a 2013 SRX even when all incentives and discounts were applied to it. I was even more disgusted by her and her attitude. After that, we left. Personally, I would never do business with a dealership like that, and you would think that we would be treated better given the fact that we have been loyal customers with GM for 21 years.

I purchased a used 2010 Traverse from Peruzzi GMC. When I test drove it, it was fine. We go to leave the dealer with the vehicle and the check engine light was on! The salesman tells me, oh its probably just a gas cap, drive it and it will go away. I refused to take the vehicle without having something in writing. Good thing because we left and the light never went off. A few days later I had my wife bring it back and the code was for the timing chain! Dealer had no choice but to replace it being as I had it in writing although they act like they did us a favor...Apparently they changed the chains and never bothered changing the oil which had bits and pieces of debris from failing pieces in it. Not even 4,500 miles after purchasing the engine seized without any warning with my wife and 4 kids in the car on our way home. GM denied any responsibility and only went to the shop to try and find reasons as to why they wouldnt help. The service manager told me the motor failed because I didnt change the oil. Mind you, when replacing the chain the dealer should have changed the oil and didnt... Even still, the manual says to change it according to the light or if it has gone 1 year. Neither situations occurred. The oil life was still at 74%. I ended up paying $6500 out of pocket to have the motor replaced. Then a fuel injector fails and renders the vehicle un-drivable 4 miles after getting a new motor. Then the A/C stopped working. Only hot air. Dealer tells me its probably the evaporator which is behind the dash and is another few thousand to fix! After some diagnostic and research I found it to be the blend door actuator, a $50 piece and 30 minutes of my time. Huge difference and Im not the GM mechanic... THEN a coil pack goes bad. Need to remove the intake plenum to get to it. Another $330. Few days later, CEL AGAIN! Now its the catalytic converter and the dealer wants THOUSANDS to fix! The rear wiper stopped working, had to replace 2 front speakers. Since the purchase, I have spent just as much money fixing it as the vehicle cost me. GM takes no responsibility since I refused the extended warranty through some 3rd party company which Ive dealt with before and denied every claim submitted. Its a joke. GM and Chevrolet should be ashamed as a company with these products representing them. Ive owned 17 cars in my time and this is by far the WORST vehicle I have every purchased. Worse than my BMW 745Li which is one of its most problematic vehicles! I will NEVER purchase another Chevy and will recommend any and everyone to do the same. They produce junk vehicles with junk parts and force the consumer to pay for their cut corners! While enduring all of these issues Ive done a lot of research and come to the conclusion that most people who own these vehicles experience these problems which SHOULD lead to a class action suit. Even the re-manufacturing company where I purchased my motor said that motor is their top seller. They move more of those 3.6L v6 motors for GM than all others combined!

I own a 2013 Chevy Equinox that was part of a class action suit for excessive oil consumption. The suit was settled, but Poage Chevrolet and GM will not honor the warranty. The vehicle was under 120,000 miles when the suit was filed but is over 120,000 by the time the suit was settled. According to the settlement, they should be repairing the engine. However, they are saying that because the vehicle is now over 120,000 miles they will only pay half. I also had a $1,000 repair I paid before this suit was filed. Im not sure how they would expect miles not to be put on during the 5 months of litigation - I still had to drive it. Im disappointed in GM for not honoring the repairs and the dealership, Poage Chevrolet, for not advocating for their customer in this situation.

Ive had a horrible experience with GM customer service. The commercials and information put out by GM/Chevrolet completely contradicts its customer service standard. When my car had an issue I tried emailing and received emails with incorrect grammar from representatives. They asked me to explain what I wanted, when I had detailed a request for a refund and information on the failure in the original email. I then moved on to calling. Their customer service is contracted out and they admit they cant take any action on certain issues. They only provide an address if you ask for a contact at GM. They fully expect you to just give up on the issue by the third phone call. Each tier/level up I went, the person was ruder. I never once raised my voice, but at one point I was trying not to get emotional because the two failures of the part put me in life threatening situations.I had a part installed on my vehicle by a Chevrolet dealership in 2014 after my car lost power on the interstate. In 2017 the part failed AGAIN. In both situations I was traveling at 65/70mph and the loss of power was immediate. Monica, Charlene, Octavia, and Greg were emotionless the entire call. The dealerships said I had to go through GM to get a refund, and it was a nightmare. I am educated in the legal field, the negligence on the part on GM/Chevrolet is appalling. I have documented everything and filed a complaint with the NHTSA. I hope to have some resolution, as I still believe the car is unsafe. I never once felt reassured by the customer service team.

I took my 2016 Terrain into a dealership because there was a vibrating in the front when I braked. They said all the rotors were warped and had to be replaced under warranty but the pads were not covered. I asked if we could leave the pads and just do rotors. They said there was lots of pad left but it was uneven wear because of the warped rotors and if I didn’t change them it would void warranty if anything else happened. So I had no choice. I said, Fix it. Replacing both sets of pads was $410 and I called GM multiple times and they keep telling me it’s a wear and tear item and it’s not covered but in this case it’s not wear and tear. It was their defective rotors that ruined the pads. They won’t listen to me. They keep saying it’s wear and tear and they won’t cover it. I am absolutely frustrated and fuming. GM is trying to brush this off but it’s not going to happen! I am not going away!

GM customer care and service department are awful. On May 20th, I purchased a 2016 Camaro 2SS with 2700 miles on it. By May 30th it was acting up and in the shop for warranty work. It is now June 16th, and the dealership still has my car. And that is GMs fault. After a week the dealership was stumped and began requesting assistance from GM. After two weeks of still being stumped, the dealership began requesting a field engineer, since they had not been able to diagnose the issue in over two weeks. GM will not give them an answer. Its a less than one year old car with 2700 miles on it and its been in the shop now for three weeks straight and counting, dont you think at this point its an issue worth expediting? Its not an old car. It has very low mileage and should not have any issues. Its an almost $50,000 car for goodness sake. But in GM fashion they wont move until my attorney contacts them about a lemon law suit, and a civil suit for car payments, registration, taxes, loss of use, and being overall terrible to work with. Oh well, I guess GM doesnt care about another lemon on their record and another lawsuit lost.

So I hit a deer in Illinois (I live in New York) on November 12th and it took forever to get my parts. GM customer service had no time frame as to when my parts would be delivered. Finally my parts arrived January 3rd and my truck was completed January 6th. The whole time while we were waiting on parts customer care told me they would pay for the duration of the rental, well that was a complete lie. State Farm only covered 30 days of my rental and GM customer care said they would cover 35$ up to 30 days. I said, Great. It would cover most of the cost of the rental. They then call me a week after and tell me, We are ready to cut you a check but we are only paying up to January 6th because thats when your truck was finished. Now remember I live in New York, have a job and had to wait til I could drive back to get the truck. I explain this to them. They tell me they will get back to me with a answer. Few days later they get back to me and tell me, Sorry but we can only pay to January 6th. This made no sense at all as I explained you never called me to tell me I had to return the truck by a certain date and I had to travel from New York to Illinois. This all could of been avoided if they could of just got my parts on time but now I have to pay around 500$ or more out of my pocket. I am now going to sell my 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali pickup and never buy another GM product after this. To top it off GM has recalls and a major one is you lose brakes. So far its happen to me twice luckily Im not a idiot and caught it in time before I would crash. I turned truck off and back on and it went away. But all in all Im pissed and sure am not dealing with GM anymore.

On Christmas Day, 2014, at about 2 PM, my wife and I were driving in our 2013 Chevy Spark on the Cross Valley Expressway (PASR-309). It was a bright sunny day with very little traffic. The car was loaded with presents as we were on way to the family holiday dinner. Not long after we exited the rock-cuts (a reduced speed zone) and assumed normal highway speed, there was a horrendous, explosive noise and the sky vanished, or so it would seem. The hood of the Spark had blown open and smashed the windshield, completely obstructing or view. For some reason, I almost immediately realized what had happened and was able to maneuver the vehicle to the side of the highway using the only the view in the side-mounted rear-view mirrors. We were, each, covered in shattered glass, but neither of us was injured. After assessing the situation and realizing we were less than a mile from Bonner Chevrolet, I bungee-tied the hood down and nursed the vehicle to their lot. We called a family member to pick us up and tried to enjoy what was left of our holiday. Most of the day was spent retelling the story and hearing from everyone, just how lucky we were. Chevy had issued a recall for possible hood-latch rust and potential failure in mid-November. The recall letter stated, We will send you another notice to inform you when parts are available to repair your vehicle. No such letter had arrived prior to the above event; however, it did come in mid-January.The guys at Bonner were terrific. They were confident that this was a simple recall issue and that GM would pick up the tab. Were they ever wrong! Bonner assessed the damage at $5001.32. (New hood, fenders, hinges, windshield, paint.) The car had a KBB value of about $9500 at the time, so the repairs were warranted. Heres where it gets interesting. GM had Bonner recalculate the repairs using a higher labor rate (Corporate-Warranty Rate). The cost of repair went over $7,000, and exceeded GMs acceptable threshold to merit repair. Just like magic. The car was now a total loss in their eyes. GM offered me $7,500 and a $2,000 Customer Loyalty voucher. The following is an excerpt from my response to their offer: I am still considering your offer. The problem that I am having is that Chevy is asking me to spend a minimum of $9,000 dollars out of my pocket to resolve a problem created when my Chevy product failed. And yes, as structured, Chevy would get my $9,000 dollars. Lets do some math. The offer stands at $9,500. ($7,500 check and $2,000 Chevy voucher). I owe approximately $4,500 dollars on my defective vehicle. My dealer can put me in a new (hopefully non-defective) Spark for about $14,000 (title, tax, tags). That causes me to spend an unbudgeted $9,000 if I buy a Chevy or $11,000 if I choose a comparable vehicle from another manufacturer. Any rational human (including judges, jurors, arbiters, and customer service representatives) can see the folly in accepting such a deal. All I really want is the same car payment I currently have and a safe vehicle to drive. Fix my car or find me a different one (13-14-15, I dont care). Let me walk away owing my Credit Union $4500. Ill continue to sing the praises of the Spark and Chevy. Please forward this to anyone who might be able to help. After several phone calls (GM stopped replying to e-mail), Chevy held firm. I ended up having my insurance repair the vehicle at Bonner for the initial estimate and paid a $250 deductible. The whole process took six weeks (3 car payments).

It was the most painful experience. Not only are the representatives unprofessional they are pathetic liars. GM does not stand behind their product. I just had my motor rebuilt due to a manufacturer defect and poor engine design. My car is less than 3 yrs old with less than 50k miles. All scheduled maintenance has been preformed. They should be ashamed at how they treat their loyal customers. They claim that repairs are necessary, well thats an understatement. Nothing but the run around with everyone at GM giving you a different excuse at the horrible quality of their product. Complaints fall on deaf ears & trying to get the senior adviser ** to actually call you back was the icing on the cake. She has to be the utmost unprofessional person I have yet to talk to. Filed complaint on 3/4 & its the 16th still nothing. Unfortunate circumstances and even more unfortunate behavior from GM. Pathetic!!

Im soo disappointed! Ive loved my Chevy up until now. It has been knocking for over 2 years. I know several others that own or have owned the same model as myself. They all have had the same issues! Horrible knocking of the motor. Found out May 8th there is a class action lawsuit against GM for piston wear, causes excessive oil use and knocking. I am within the mileage for repairs at no cost, but they have escaped repairing my vehicle due to the fact they did not send my letter sooner! Now I have a 4000.00 bill! I had planned on purchasing GM again. But never will I never. Ive had 3 recalls and damaged motor due to their production. They do not back their product. This should be handled by them. Please do not purchase GM. They do not take care of their buyers. If I had received my letter sooner It would be covered. Because of them I have a broken car, I have to fix.

I have an 2014 XTS Cadillac with 54000 miles. The transmission gave out with such low mileage. My warranty had expired 10 days prior to this happening. My mechanic bought a new transmission from GM dealership and was programmed by GM Representative. I called GM headquarters seeking for at least to help pay for the transmission not the labor since I realize it was installed by third party. I spoke with senior representatives, directors of customer service and even customer service to resolve issue when I complained to Better Business Services. They did not care that the car had only 54000 miles. They refused to even pay a portion of it. I will never buy a GM car! Nor will anyone in the my family. They showed such disservice to GM customer. What transmission gives out 54000 miles. Never again GM. I will only make displeasing comments about GM.

As an owner of a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse, a GMC Sierra, and having previously owned a 2010 Buick Enclave, I know I will never choose to purchase another GM Vehicle. I have had almost identical problems with the two SUVs. Both had major problems with steering, where the steering wheel locks up and will not turn quickly (almost as if the power steering goes out). This is extremely scary when you are making a turn while yielding to oncoming traffic. I had this repaired in my Enclave and it required removing the motor to repair $$$. The Traverse has had very similar problems with the timing chain which needs to be replaced (just as it happened with the Enclave). I just had the AC blower and a tire sensor replaced and was told by the mechanic that the timing chain would still be covered under warranty since the car has less than 120K miles so I went ahead and let them do the other repairs ($600 worth) only to find out that the timing chain ($3500) would not be covered under the warranty. The car is now losing power so Im sure it wont last much longer. These cars are junk after a few years and each time I called Chevrolet Cares and they would do absolutely nothing to help.

I am reasonably convinced that GM does not take pride in their work. My 2015 Chevy Equinox has a couple of design flaws that make this obvious. The front bumper is too low and seem intentionally designed to catch on standard parking bumper blocks. Not having key on the rear hatchback prevented me from being able to get my jumper cables out when my battery went dead and the electric locks would not work! The oil filter in an inconvenient location for consumer use. It also requires a special crows foot wrench to remove the filter housing. The electrical system goes haywire when the battery is low. What a nuisance. Try taking pride and does things right. Youll sell more cars!

I purchased a 2012 Chevy Sonic in 2012 and this was my husband and I first vehicle from GM. We were excited to have gotten our very first vehicle and I thought we were getting a good car. In 2013, we were in the process of moving and expecting another child and we received a recall letter in the mail. In March of this year, we took our car to the dealer and suddenly we have a leak with oil and we had no oil. We were able to get a rental car for a little over a week. Last week I was driving my car to the train station and car begins to shake and I wasnt able to accelerate and operate my car. I usually get on the expressway with my daughter every morning and thank God this didnt happen on the expressway because I could have gotten in a serious car accident. Im very unsatisfied with this vehicle and I dont feel safe at all. Now, its been a week and I was told its a trans problem but they will have to see what happened to cause the trans to go out. I dont believe this will be the only issue that will come up and I dont want to find out what else is going to go wrong. We have a high interest rate and Im starting to feel this was just a bad deal altogether.

I love the leather interior, the moonroof and the dual closure. I also like the door and window locks, the automatic seats and that they remember which driver you are. I like the interior design and the colors of both interior and exterior. The seats are very comfortable as well. I dislike however how far back the seat belts are attached. Also the center console takes up a lot of space but the way its designed it doesnt hold much so its wasting space.

In March 2014, I leased a Silverado double cab. No issues, truck running great. About 6 to 7 months into the lease, I started getting lights concerning the Trac Stabilizer system coming on. This came on with normal driving conditions (no wet roads or extra gravel on them). This came on a few times at first. Took it to the dealership (SeaCoast Chevrolet in Neptune, New Jersey). They could not duplicate the issue, so they gave me the truck back. Have been back 3 more times since then and still no resolution. This last time, truck stalled turning into a parking spot and the cruise control disengaged for no reason while I was doing 75 mph. This is dangerous and a major safety issue. It is now at the dealership and still have not been able to replicate the issue or come up with a solution. GM has been notified. The district manager (David **) has been involved. Have been told by many people at the dealership that they would call me back. No return calls. I have had to call them for answers. They are refusing to do anything extra besides wasting my time having make numerous trips to the dealership for repairs. They cannot perform along with major safety issues with the truck. On top of that, having to take time away from my work to do this. Extremely poor customer service on their part. Will not deal with them again once the lease is over. Handing in the keys and walking away never to return!!

I own a 2013 GMC Terrain. Suddenly my back up camera stopped working. Upon taking it to the dealership I was told that GM had done a systems update and that was why. I said ok update my car. They told me it would be 112.00. I said no. It should be free. Its not my fault or issue. Its GMs. So I contacted GM Customer services. The agent Sheila was not the brightest. She told me if I needed to update my computer I would have to pay for that.Apparently she does not know that this is not true. That you can do so for free online by downloading drivers. Or if you buy a Tom Tom or Garmin GPS you simply log into their sites and download updates. So where are the drivers for GMs Unexpected updates as obviously a way to make more money off you. This is a PAID FOR FEATURE on a car and should not simply fall off after 3-4 years. They would not pay for it. I will have to ask questions with different auto makers in the future regarding technology based upgrades on cars.

My truck had a problem where all 4 of my brakes locked up and the brake pedal would not depress at all. I had to drive from 2 to 4 miles to get where I was going with the accelerator pedal fully depressed and going 35 miles per hour. The brakes were all four very hot and smoking. Within 2 hours the brakes were back to normal. This happened approximately 5 times before I was able to get into a gm authorized dealer. They let me use a loaner until they could test drive my truck. They called me and told me that they found the problem with the front brakes. I confronted the service manager and told him that they had not found the problem because when the problem occurred all four brakes locked up. He quoted me a price of $850.00 to make the repairs the mechanic thought would solve the problem. I told him that he had not found the problem and If I agreed to the costs and the repairs and it continued he would have to absorb the cost of the necessary repairs. He stated I would do that anyway. I authorized the repairs and within two weeks the brakes all locked up again. I asked him if he could call technical services about the problem. He said he only had one mechanic who was authorized to call the gm technical service dept.I wanted me to return the vehicle for them to test drive it again. In the meantime I found another source of information and was told all I needed to do was replace the brake fluid reservoir cap and the problem would never happen again... I was promised a loaner vehicle while they test drove my truck. While I was for the loaner car I casually told the mechanic about the cap possibly could be the cause of the problem. Without my knowledge and without telling the service manager he changed the cap before they started test driving the truck. After a week I called to find out about my truck and they had had no failures. I returned the loaner car and spoke to the mechanic while they were making out the paperwork for my truck and the loaner. He told me that he had changed the cap and raised the hood to show me a new cap had been installed. I have filed a complaint with the dealership and asked for some relief on the cost of the repairs to my truck. I was told that he had met with the service manager and the mechanic and they believe that the cap was not the problem.I have driven the truck for over 3 months since the cap was replaced. As I was leaving the dealership I met the service manager and I asked him if he had called their technical service department about the problem. He stated that he and the mechanic did not believe the cap and since my truck was over 10 years old with over 175,000 miles he would not bother technical services with my trucks problem. I told him if he felt that way HE WAS AN IDIOT. He said thank you and turned and walked away. I really would like to know how to contact someone from GMC who can explain to me how the brakes are affected by the brake fluid cap. Thank you for your time and concern about my problem.

We just bought a 5 year old Terrain last month and so far we love it. We chose it based on mileage and condition. Its in great shape, has low mileage and is very clean and runs well. I have not owned a GMC before now but I am pretty impressed so far. We like the backup camera, ability to connect to our phone, CD player. I like the height and style of the SUV. I love the heated bucket seats and the roomy hatch area. There is plenty of leg room which my husband and son appreciate. The seats are nice and comfortable too. But I have trouble using the cruise control. Its awkward to use safely. I have to take my eyes off the road to see what Im doing which is certainly not safe. I also do not like the button on the hatch door instead of a handle. Im worried that it will malfunction quickly and be a pain to use afterwards.

I own a 2012 Chevy Equinox (52000 miles) that I purchased from my Chevy dealership. The key fab holds the brass key in pot metal and it broke last year. That key was replaced under warranty. Saturday, the key I got to replace that key broke in the same manner. (25,000 miles later) Saturday, I brought the key in and was told I need to talk with the Service Manager. I explained the problem to the Service Manager and he offered me a new key at a discount. If I had something to do with the key breaking, I would be fine with the offer. Plus, there is no guarantee that the same issue will not happen to the new key. I do not want to be purchasing a new key every so often because of poor design. I was only 2,000 miles out of warranty and they would not replace a recurring issue.I wrote the president of the dealership and she said sorry but would not do anything. My steering wheel has also worn away and I had to put a cover on it. Poor quality. I own a VW TDI which I will be trading in sometime in November. Today was a true test of your customer service. I planned on purchasing a ton crew cab truck to replace the VW. After this experience I do not plan on considering your dealership at this point. I also plan on taking my business elsewhere for service.

I am writing this complaint as I am very disappointed the way my whole purchase and ownership experience. I feel that a profit motivation has ruled the decision making process and customer service non existent. Firstly at the purchase of our 2012 Chevrolet Cruz, one major significant item was not offered and when we became aware of this item we were told it was too late. Then on the first trip we hit a pothole and damaged two tires. No problem, we have warranty. But even the dealership gave us the vehicle with three tires with a maximum of 21 PSI 2 at 18. We paid for this as no one was responsible. We noticed on the side mirror at the outset what we perceived to be polish dust. Upon the initial washing we became aware that it was actually a defect. We drove to the dealership only to be told we will sort it out. However, after repeated complaints we were told it was never written down and you now are out of warranty. GM in their infinite wisdom agreed and refused to change them. Managers looking at the mirrors have said off the record that it is definitely a flaw, but I guess in this experience it will be up to us to solve it. Other items which were not on the warranty. Replace the brake disk and the pads at 30,000 KM (As a former Rally racer this is absurd). The air conditioning works poorly to say the least, even I had to pay to change to replace all the filters. There is a power surge from the gearbox at gear change - still unresolved but we are out of warranty.I worked at GM and this is something I never saw from a quality perspective. I am also a second generation GM owner as my father lived and breathed GM and owned GM cars for approximately fifty years. At this point Big Brother and its profits have lost a customer and I will never consider a GM product again. I can assure you I will expound my experiences to prospective buyers as well. I have never favored Lemon Laws but I now realise that they have a place and are needed to protect customers. Thank you for reading.

My fuel system control module failed at about 90,000 km. Looked up the information on the web and found an outstanding recall for failed FSCM on my truck manufactured from June to August. My truck was made in June. Took the truck to the dealer, and was told my VIN number was 92 trucks before the recall began. Thats made on the same day or the day before, and my part failed the exact same way as described in the recall. My part was not covered, so GM charged me $900 for the repair. This was annoying, but they do have a legal leg to stand on, as theyre the ones who set the beginning of the recall, not us. VIN numbers started for recall when they believed the faulty parts hit the production line, but obviously they were off by at least a hundred. How do we know whether they got it right? I assert they did not. All they offered me in compensation - because Ive been buying GM products for 24 years - was a $200 pre-paid visa card for use at a dealership, and only for regular service, not repairs. Since then Ive also had multiple incidences of a trio of fault codes that shut down all my winter safety systems - four-wheel drive, traction control, and stabilitrak. Every time I take the truck to the dealer they reset the codes and say theres nothing wrong with the truck. Im at $400 for this problem, with no resolution. These systems are vital to driving safely where I work in northern BC, so when these codes are activated I lose the things I need most. The computer will not reset the codes even though nothing is currently wrong with the vehicle, and Im forced to drive around without my main safety components until a dealer can make time to soak me for a repair bill to reset them.GM has built in faults that could reset on their own, but dont, and make you go to the dealer to pay plenty of money and fix what isnt broken. If the codes actually identified which part is intermittently causing them, at least I could have that part changed out and the vehicle would be reliable. To top it all off, the vehicle is much less safe to drive with these features disabled, so my life is at risk until I get there. This is flat out extortion.

I am SO frustrated with Buick - Shenandoah Motors - and my 2010 Enclave right now!!! Thousands of $ in repairs since September (like in the neighborhood of $6500) - not including the usual oil changes and new tires. Went to pick it up today after a new transmission installation and the car is whining like crazy. Do they even test drive these things before they turn them loose for customers to take out on the road?? This has been an ongoing issue and finally GM Corporate agreed to pay $1111.23 of this most recent repair (not included in OUR $6.5k to date). Now its back in the shop (fortunately we didnt even drive off the lot before we went right back in and said something was wrong - AGAIN). Called GM Corporate but its after 5:00 so my rant will have to wait until tomorrow when they call back. CRAPPY SERVICE @ SHENANDOAH MOTORS.

Service center completely scammed me. If I could give it a zero I would. Took my car in a year ago because it was stalling. They said they fixed it for $400 which some was covered under warranty. They replaced timing chain and gaskets. Still stalling so recently I had aftermarket solenoids put in. It was still stalling and check engine light came. Took it to Gordon’s and John ** told me it would be $542 and that’s it’s because I had aftermarket solenoids. I was hesitant, but he convinced me it would be running good after. Next day he calls me and tells me it will be over $1400. But at this point they already changed the solenoids and that didn’t work. They misdiagnosed the problem. I tell them forget it and pick up my car. On the work order for the 1400 they have timing chain, gaskets and actuator. The same things they supposedly fixed a year ago. They still charged me $500 for the solenoids. Paid $500 for absolutely nothing and check engine lights still on. Nothing fixed for $500. I will be putting in a complaint through the state of Michigan. We actually have also talked to our cousin who is a lawyer. I feel like they took advantage of me because I am a woman. Also when I questioned him he hung up on me!

October 20, 2019 my 2016 GMC Canyon Duramax went into limp mode. It has essentially been in dealer shop since then. Parts delays, major parts replacements have all resulted in the same failure codes. GMC resolution group (I’m now on my third rep) has admittedly trying and the local dealer as well, however it’s been over 150 days and still no ‘resolution’. On one hand I do have a loaner even though I am out of warranty, on the other I do not have my customized truck I use to manage my ranch where we live, and my most recent rep is essentially telling me ‘we are in the driver’s seat and you can wait until we fix it or you can come get it’. No more “yes sir we understand and we are trying”. I guess they are tired of my frustration but after 150 days one would think they could fix their own product. I don’t think they will be able to figure it out if they haven’t by now and wonder what the process is for my truck? Will they buy it back or simply tell me to come pick it up and charge me for repairs and parts that did not work??? Not happy with GMC but I guess they are doing what they can, which is not resulting in a successful repair of happy customer. :(

I bought a new engine $2200.00 from GM. I noticed damage on the block after installing at my expense. It should never have been sold. They say they will replace it. I have to remove and install it again at my expense. I was told it didnt matter if I put it in or the dealer, the same warranty applies. GM sucks. I am finished with them.

I was contacted by GM to extend the 3 yr warranty on my Chevy today. Forwarded to a man named Brad who eventually quoted me the price. I declined as I am a solo parent and unable to afford this additional coverage that would be $495/down plus 12x$274/month. Brad says he understands because he is a single dad. I reiterated that I am a solo parent--not the same as single, which generally means a child is shared by two parents. At this point, Brad explains his ex is in jail and says hes a single dad too - before anything else can be said, he gets nasty with me, adding, That was the rudest thing Ive ever heard in my life and I dont even want to help you... before hanging up on me. Brad, I still dont have that kind of extra money and am still a solo parent. Sorry to counter that what you just exhibited is a total lack of understanding and added aggression. No, thank you, GM.

I am the sorry owner of a Chevy Impala. I have been a GM customer for over 20 years. I have always tried to support American made cars. My experience with this Impala has been a nightmare. I have taken it to the dealer several times and have gotten treated very poorly. The rear defrost just quit working. Tire system failed, now I am waiting to be seen for the recall and need to have someone check out why my car gives me the message engine power reduced. Once I have these things done, I will be returning this car and I will never purchase an automobile from GM or any of its affiliates. I am so disgusted with this car. I depend on this car (I cant call it an automobile or vehicle) to take my child back and forth and I need to get to work. I cannot afford to jeopardize her safety. I will never recommend GM to anyone.

I bought a 2014 GMC truck with thirty one thousand miles and I drove it for three years to eighty four thousand miles and my family and I went for a road trip to Vegas Nevada and we were driving on a parking lot around 5 miles an hour and for no reason the motor broke down and Chevy wouldn’t honor the warranty. It cost me 10,000 dollars to get it fix at Fairway Chevrolet in Vegas and they didn’t do a good job. Now I have a check engine light on. Now a local dealer wants 1700 dollars to fix it. So I’m really mad at General Motors.

After 100,000 mile warranty, had to replace def tank as injector quit working. On trip to Texas, check engine light appeared, dealership could not find problem. Charged me $729 to tell me exhaust system needed to be replaced, cost $5,000, and would not be ready by the time we needed to leave for home. Service manager recommended a diesel repair shop, which did replace truck computer and altered exhaust system. Severe glow plugs later, plus back up sensors being replaced. Final blow was after moving cattle from one pasture to another appox. 3 hours away, a knock developed in the engine. Was able to get home and to our local service garage. Transmission removed to find a broken crankshaft. Cost expected to be $20,000 plus. This is my second Duramax diesel, first was a 2003, which I experienced 8 different occasions replacing injectors at GMs dealership. Each glow plug was replaced at least once. One blew out the head the second time, had to leave a trailer along side the road and had to be towed in. Final blow, check engine light came on, dealership said injector pump going out. Traded in for 2012, which has been as much expensive and troublesome as the 2003. GOODBYE, GMC!!!

I purchased a 2013 GMC Sierra new and always had the truck serviced at the selling dealer. Last Oct. my drivers side door handle came off in my hand. This has never happened to me with any vehicle I ever owned, and I have owned many. Colonial GMC in Charlottesville, Va. was my selling dealer so I went there and requested it be replaced under the extended warranty that I purchased good for 100,000 miles. Was told it wasnt covered under that warranty and had to pay to have it replaced. Bill was in excess of $300. Ok, paid and moved on.4 months later another door handle broke off on the rear door and was even being used much. Thinking this was an unusual I researched this problem and to my surprise realized these door handles have been breaking on Silverados and Sierras routinely, but to date GM has not had a recall or a TSP for this problem. Contacted GM and they told me I would receive a callback to resolve the issue. 3 days later I got a call from the dealer telling me I was out of luck, they would not do anything unless I paid the full price. Ok, I thought, I paid $63000 for a truck and they wont help with a door handle. I bought and $40 to install it. Bottom line is I will go back to buying a Ford or Dodge, had good service from them. Done with GM for a $17 door handle.

I have been complaining about the same concerns to GMC customer assistance for months. I am not getting any assistance from the dealer and a customer “senior” case manager seems to forget our conversations EVERY TIME! I have been being pulled along for a ride regarding how important my business is and that they will have a resolution to either trade me out of my car with assistance or buy this lemon back. It is appalling how I am being treated right now after being patient for months and months and trying to work with a brand that I have been very loyal to, to receive zero action and all talk. I will be trading in my vehicle and leaving the brand after spending over 75k on a Denali and 60k on a Suburban brand new off the lot from a GMC dealer. All over poor customer service.

We are the original owners of a 1999 GMC Suburban 1500, purchased new from
We are the original owners of a 1999 GMC Suburban 1500, purchased new from a dealership that is no longer in existence. The vehicle currently has a non-functioning air bag module. In or about mid-July, 2014, we took our vehicle to Seidners Collision Center in **, CA to have some work done due to a sideswipe accident. At the same time our vehicle was in the shop for repairs, we asked Seidners to take a look at the airbag light that was on. Seidners sent our vehicle out to a certified air bag diagnostic center and it was determined that we needed a new module. They also informed us that they had called at least five dealerships in our general area and were told the part was discontinued. They further informed us that if they were to obtain and install a third-party part, they would not warrant the work.On July 28, 2014, I called GMCs Corporate Offices (866) 363-2273 at approximately 2:00 p.m. I spoke with Jade in the Customer Assistance Department. She assigned us File #**. After explaining that we were told the air bag module for our vehicle was no longer available, Jade put us in touch via a 3-way conference call with a local dealership. A representative from said dealership informed me that part # 9378245, priced at $533.00, is listed as unavailable. When I asked what unavailable meant, he could not give me a direct answer. Jade then directed me to several external websites which she said were GMC approved. The websites I was directed to are as follows: acdelco, mycertifiedservice, chevy-classic-parts.None of the above websites had the part I was looking for. On July 28, 2014 at approximately 4:45, I received a call from ** the parts manager at the above dealership. He said he checked with his shop foreman who said if the airbag light is on, he cannot say definitively whether the airbag will deploy or not. ** said he would place an order for the part for us even though it is listed as unavailable. He also said he would follow up with me as more information becomes available. After I received the above phone call, I called GMC Customer Service again and spoke with Mary, one of the supervisors. I informed her about the safety concerns we have until the part comes in, especially given that there is no estimated time of arrival. I also informed her that I believe this problem is more of a corporate issue than a dealership issue. Corporate should be responsible for making sure that parts are available to the dealerships. The dealership has been as helpful as they can possibly be, but it is not their fault that the part is unavailable. On August 14, 2014, at approximately 9:00 a.m., I received a follow-up call from the parts manager at the above dealership. He informed me that the part is still on order and there is still no estimated time of arrival. He said he was merely making a courtesy call. After receiving the above phone call, I again called GMC Corporate. The phone call was made at 9:35 a.m. I spoke with Carla, another supervisor. She said she would call the parts manager at the above dealership to get the order number and would get a District Supervisor to call me within 48 hours. I have not received a call from any District Supervisor to date.On August 25, 2014 at approximately 5:20 p.m., I received a call from Cecelia, yet another GMC Customer Service representative. She informed me that the air bag module cannot be expedited and there is still no anticipated date of arrival. I again reiterated my safety concerns. Cecelias response was for me to rent a car. I asked if GMC would reimburse for a rental car and she said, No, its on you. I again asked to speak to a supervisor. Cecelia put me on hold and came back to say that no supervisors were available. I asked if I could hold on the line and she told me that All supervisors would be tied up for the rest of the day.I think all of the above illustrates GMC Corporates horrendous customer service. As you can see, I have at least had some follow-up with the dealership, but the same cannot be said of GMC Corporate. It has now been 6 weeks and we have made no progress whatsoever in obtaining the needed part. Every time we drive the vehicle, we are taking a safety risk. My husband frequently uses the car to transport kids for Boy Scout activities, and hypothetically, if an accident were to occur where the airbags did not deploy, we will certainly hold GMC responsible.I also did a Live Chat asking for an email address for whoever is above the GMC Customer Service supervisors and was told they were not allowed to give out email addresses. GMC Corporate is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. Why all the hiding?

I bought my car new but within a few months my antifreeze was disappearing - no leaking onto driveway. It took GM mechanics 4 years to find it was leaking into my oil and thus thru engine. Antifreeze compromises the engine and it should be taken apart and cleaned or replaced. GM customer service said that I was responsible to pay for the engine replacement even tho the car was broken when I bought it because the engine passes whatever test the dealer did. Those mechanics also said they would not buy a car like mine because of the antifreeze leak. Maybe its working now but the engine is compromised and will cause an accident at some point.

Does anyone else have this problem? I bought my 2012 GMC Terrain in Jan 2012. During my first week of owning it, we had some bad snow storms. The state uses a lot of salt to battle ice. When I opened the door, I had some difficulty opening it. When I did get it open, I noticed snow, slush, dirt, etc. at the rocker panel area where the inside bottom of my door meets the vehicle. I showed this twice to the dealership and they mainly stated they had never seen anything like it. Now this summer, the vehicle is leaking dust into the vehicle and builds up mud and dust at the rocker panel area. I took it back to the dealer and they put mud guards to see if they will help. I still see dust and dirt at the rocker panel. Otherwise, I like my Terrain. Please, if anyone is having this problem, I would like to know.

NEVER Buy from GM!!! I purchased a 2019 Silverado 3500 and reported transmission issues and funky dash issues from the first week I owned it. The truck was in the shop 9-11 times in 8 months. Corporate case manager was useless and did nothing but say, sorry!!! Truck would surge when in regen mode.. radio would be stuck on full blast. Clock wouldnt hold correct time or sometimes go backwards! GM was happy to take my money but fixing the truck... NOPE! After it ran into my camp trailer twice and putting a hole in the back of my garage wall it was a safety issue for my family! Dealership did everything they could - no issues with them! They even submitted a request for GM to buy the truck back. GM said no and they wanted to waste more time working on it. I ended up trading it in before it ran someone over. Now GM says you dont own it any more so we wont help with any cost... GM DID NOTHING during the 8 months it was in the shop. Why start now. I was told every step GM is here for you. NOPE! all I got was, were sorry, and we will get back to you. 1 week, 2 weeks later nothing!!! We will get you free oil changes. Nope! Never completed a thing they said they would. If I could give -1 star I would!

Kind of like Frances in Houstons story, I had a similar experience with the customer service department for GM. To cut the long story short, my 2005 Malibu has less than 90,000 miles and is well maintained. I have it serviced on schedule and have repairs done upon them showing up. The rear main seal had to be replaced, which in all the years of owning vehicles, this has never ever occurred even with cars that were in the 70s models. The repair was in excess of $1,100.00. This is a lot of money to pay out of my budget. Even my service writer said that this should not have happened with as well as I take care of my car. He suggested I should contact GM to see if I could recoup some of the expense from them. After a week of calls and messages, the district specialist (who was out sick for over a week) told my spouse that they would not help. I dont even think he really looked at the information as he didnt even call to confirm with me. We dont have a problem with the dealership as they have always taken care of us and have been very professional. Its GM and their corporate morons who need to be given the boot. And they wonder why they are doing so poor.

Tried to get GM (Chevy) to take care of rusted cross member. Was told that I am a few years late and that it is on me. This would be close to $1000. Other consumers have complained in regard to the rusting. And Chevy is aware of this issue. Chevrolet issued a bulletin that alerts owners of 1999-2004 model year Chevrolet Trackers of the possibility that some of the front suspension crossmember did not receive adequate corrosion protection. If this occurs, may notice steering looseness, vehicle pulls to one side, front end noises (clunk, bang, rattle, etc) vehicle shaking, or steering wheel rotation when shifting from reverse to drive and drive to reverse.Corrosion may progress over time until the front lower control arm bracket separates from the crossmember.. If this condition occurs on your 1999-2004 Chevrolet Tracker within 10 years of the date that the vehicle was originally placed in service, or 150,000 miles, whichever occurs first, the condition will be repaired at no charge. This should have been a full recall, not a silent one. Shame on you GM or Chevy whatever your name is. I dont give a hoot how old it is, this needs to be corrected. My children will sue GM or Chevy, whatever your name is. If I die in twisted wreckage, thanks for nothing.

I purchased a 2010 GMC Terrain 3 years ago and have had nothing but problems with it. I have had to take it to the dealer numerous times to get the engine repaired as well as the transmission. I found the car to be unreliable and because of the frequent break downs, I have had to miss work and deal with the inconvenience of renting a vehicle. The last time I was there, they recommend that I speak to someone regarding the vehicle exchange program. They assured me that they would be able to help me get out of this vehicle and into something more reliable. I knew going in that I would probably have to extend the duration of my current loan. Unfortunately when I spoke to the sales manager, their way of helping me was to get me into a new Terrain with a brand new loan of 6 years and an interest rate of 3.6%. How is this helping me? The only reason why I was even considering the exchange was because the car that they sold me is not reliable - AKA lemon! I am sure that the dealership has better incentives than what they were trying to offer me. I do not believe GMC cares about their customers. I was willing to purchase the car with the same payment I have now, but I only wanted a 4 year loan. They were unwilling to help. Why would I want to purchase a car from GMC ever again after the kind of service I got? If I am going to start from scratch, I might as well go to another brand of car. The sales staff at GMC Cerritos were not understanding of my situation and were very condescending. Thank you.

I told GMC I did not want a vehicle coming out of the gate with wheels issues. They first spoke of buy out, then I was told they are not going to accept the vehicle back! Since then I have gotten 2 invoices one stating VEHICLE NEEDS RE WELDING OF RIGHT AND LEFT ARM. Took vehicle Friday and was told it didnt need a fix. Questioned them about their finding, and their manager said he stood by his mechanics report. Took it back to dealer who said it was needed. They informed me that they had to take vehicle, and that the other dealer called it wrong. Incompetent mechanics/and putting UNSAFE VEHICLES on road, tire issues? Not acceptable. I will be speaking to an Attorney. I dont want this vehicle and I will take measures, No one forces me to take a used car, sold as new, but work already has to be done! This fix will only last till warranty is up, and then all cost to me! I dont trust anything coming from GMC. Mechanic put me back in the road with a false safety report! 2 different invoices!? Wow.

I purchased my 2008 GMC in April of 2008 and was very nice truck. However the first thing was the heated windshield washers. GM sent me a letter saying that they needed to disconnect it due to fire hazard. I loved that option! Then I started to notice some erratic performance issues. The engine would run differently from time to time. One day you couldnt ask for it to run any better and the next day it would lose at least 25% of its power. Then about the same time the transmission on occasion would disengage when coasting and then accelerating, similar to shifting into neutral then drive. It still does this. Then the engine started using oil. About 1 quart every 500-1000 miles. After a year of fighting they rebuilt the engine. Then the front suspension (all upper and lower ball joints went bad) they did help me with cost of that. The whole time I have had to replace headlamps every 6 months. Now my blower motor for my heat has failed. After doing some research they had a problem with this in the previous model year. The problem is that the wire harness that goes to the blower motor melts. Took the truck back to dealer and was told $475 to repair since now I am out of warranty. So I called customer service once again and was basically told the same thing. I said to them that it is not a wear and tear item, it is a design/engineering problem. It is one thing for the motor to fail and another if the wiring is melting! After wiggling the wires to the blower motor, it has started working again. Hope my truck does not catch fire before I can get this issue resolved!! Not happy with GM and most of all the dealers and their service departments that represent their product. Most are not trained and or out for the money not customer satisfaction.

The district manager was supposed to call me in reference to the poor customer service that I have received and I have yet to hear from the district manager. I spoke to a lady by the name of Charisma on today and she stated that she was told that they would not allow me to trade the vehicle for another one neither are they willing to reimburse me for money that was lost during this time. There is no way that anyone could ever talk me into buying a GM vehicle. The customer service is past poor. They only care about themselves and how many cars they can sell. I have never ever experienced customer service like this. GM is the worst company I ever dealt with! I leased a new 2013 Chevrolet Malibu 2LT W/EASSIST Sedan 4 Door, VIN # 1G11F5SR8DF127280 July 2, 2013. Buying/Leasing a car is a major purchase and I want a car that would be problem free and reliable. I gave GM a chance but I wish I never bought this car! Since I leased this car, I had and still have several of issues with a rear noise coming from the window and bumper falling off. I brought the car to the dealership over 20 times. I took much time off from work for service drop off and pickups. The car has a history of issues and I exhausted my attempts, I called GM and asked for help after service said dont bring this back here for this issue. GM customer service was NO HELP and I was forced to use the Massachusetts lemon law. After I contacted the service team, the dealership service told me they will stand by my side so GM can buy the car back or replace it. I was misled and left in the dark when this matter became reality, the issues were described as minor by the dealership. I was shocked by this outcome and not sure why this happened. To be honest, Im not trying to make matters worse but I want a reliable car that Im paying for. GM is not going to do anything about this after the dealership lied. I have a car that is bad and still 18 month left on the lease. I tried to get out of this lease but I cant afford to and forced to keep this car. This is the worst experience I ever had with any company, how can a company run with dishonestly and built the worst cars ever made? I leavened and will NEVER buy a GM as long as I live. Please do you save yourself and buy something else! I hope no one will experience what I been through!

Purchased my car in late 2011. Battery went bad December 2012. They replaced the battery - supposedly with a new 48-month A/C delco battery. This morning I come out to a dead battery. I called to find out if they will replace it since obviously its not even 24 months and this thing is dead. No. The manager will not honor the warranty on the battery because it was installed during my warranty under the bumper to bumper. How convenient. Upon closer inspection, the battery does not have a date, which leads me to believe that they installed either an old battery or just did not even install one at all. Manager told me that if you have a battery installed UNDER THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY, it voids the batterys warranty. Does this make sense to anyone????? Sure doesnt to me. Like I said, I have a feeling they put an old used battery in my car.

I purchased a certified used 2016 Chevrolet Malibu in March 2017 that was still under factory and powertrain warranty. My vehicle has been in the shop over 11 times since then with 8 of the repairs pertaining to the transmission. The vehicle has almost because multiple accidents on the interstate, caused me to miss a flight, caused me to be stranded in a variety of cities on multiple occasions where I have had to book hotel rooms and spend unnecessary money.I have had a new engine put in my car, my transmission has been repaired twice, rebuilt twice, and replaced once, among many other minor repairs. On May 11th, my vehicle broke down on the highway while I was on my way to my college graduation. I was stranded 3 hours from my home and 2 hours from my destination. It was towed to the Orange Park Chevrolet Dealership where it remained until today, June 6th for another transmission issue. A case was opened for me with the GM Business Resource Center and Daniel was my case manager. After 1 week of my car being in the shop, I was presented with 2 offers. They would do an equal trade or buy my vehicle back. Of course there are calculations involved and I was told I would be charged a usage fee for the mileage that I have put on the vehicle, but Daniel could not know the figures yet. He asked me to fax both the service receipts for all of my repairs and my buyer’s agreement. I obliged and confirmed via VM that I had sent everything he had requested. He then called me back a week later to ask if I had a chance to send the paperwork. Once I told him I had done so last week he said he must have overlooked it and confirmed her now had it in front of him and would calculate everything. He also requested a copy of my registration. I told him that my registration was located in my vehicle that was 3 hours away. I suggested we contact the dealership that it was at and have them fax it to him. He said he would call them. The next day, the dealership called me to tell me my vehicle was ready for pickup and that they needed their loaner back. I was shocked, because I was under the impression that I would not be placed back into a faulty and dangerous vehicle. I called Daniel and could not get a hold of him, so I spoke to a supervisor. She told me I had to return the loaner and that my vehicle would still be eligible for repurchase, but that the entire process takes a few weeks. When I asked her what would happen if I break down again or crash during my 3 hour commute home, she said she would “cross her fingers and hope for the best”.On Tuesday, June 5th, Daniel called me to tell me that the buyer’s agreement I sent him on May 24th did not match their system. He couldn’t tell me exactly what did not match, but that they need to get the paperwork from the dealership I purchased it from. Daniel and I got into a heated debate about him sending me to collect all types of paperwork, yet he wasn’t doing his part. He continued to talk over me and blame me because I had not gotten him the registration even though he knew I could not. I mentioned that I should get an attorney and we were disconnected.I picked my vehicle up today, June 7th. Upon pickup, I realized my entire backseat, back floor, and trunk was full of mold. The dealership said I must have had a leak, but it is not their fault. They did add it to the comments on my repair order, but would not do anything about it. I had to drive home for 3 hours in the Florida heat with my windows down because the mold was burning my eyes, throat, and nose.I called GM today, June 7th to request that the mold issue be notated on my case and I was informed that Daniel closed my case on June 6th because I have an attorney. I never once said I was being legally represented nor did I request or agree to the case closure. My case is currently in the legal dept. Why would it be closed? Also, why would a supervisor not call me back. Daniel and I cannot communicate effectively and a supervisor should have stepped in. Your employees shouldn’t speak or blame their customers as he did me. Especially when I have been more than accommodating to all of his requests. As I was on the phone with a GM rep, my engine light came back on. So now my car is again shifting hard, the engine light is back on, and my vehicle is molded out.I have been requesting to speak to a supervisor in the legal department other than Daniel since Tuesday to no avail. This entire ordeal has been pure hell, from purchase to current. My car is in the shop on average, every 1k miles. The repairs have been in the thousands. I still have 35k miles of powertrain warranty. Wouldn’t it be a smarter business choice to just settle this case as they have already put more into my car than it is worth and will continue to have to repair anything powertrain related? As a corporation, why do they feel comfortable treating their customers this way?

NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. I test drove two Chevy trucks and had a $50 test drive coupon. The salesmen took the coupon to the back and said they would handle sending it off and I could expect the gift card in the mail. We came to actually buy a truck and kept asking for prices. It was obvious that they didnt want to sell us a truck. We went two streets over and bought a brand new GMC truck from Conklin-Fangman for 48,000. I called GM to inquire about my card only to find out that it was NEVER submitted. Called GM and had a three way conversation with the salesmen at CD (Steve ** ) that waited on me. He lied to the GM customer service rep. I got the other salesmen, (Jamie ** ) (we were passed among two salesmen) and he confirmed that the guy was lying. He denied that he even knew me or that I knew him; kept saying that I had him confused with someone else. He hung up on the GM rep and myself. Jamie ** also hung up the phone on the GM rep and myself. The GM rep was of NO HELP. I asked her did she condone this type of behavior from a GM dealership? She was speechless and offered no resolution about obtaining my gift card. She told me to call them back and ask for the five digit code. I refused and told her that this dealership did not deserve to carry the GM name. I have never been treated this way before by anyone, much less two car salesmen. This dealership has a terrible reputation (see their ratings), and obviously, GM doesnt care that they are carrying the brand in such a negative manner. I called and spoke to Donna ** , the customer service rep., and she was nice, but kept telling me how sorry that she was regarding our experience. I asked repeatedly to make an appointment with the owner. She asked that she have a chance to resolve the issue before I complained to GM. She had the general sales manager call me. His name was Rob. I passed the phone to my husband because he talked to me so rudely. He accused us of missing appointments, which we had an appointment to bring in our truck for trade in and we canceled the appointment by phone, and said he was reading our files and seeing that we had no intention of buying a truck. He said that he wanted to get to the point because he had wasted enough time with us. I asked how much time exactly had he wasted b/c I had wasted hours on this matter. He said, well, as of now, it is going on 9.5 minutes.” I told him to forget it and that I would deal with him through another source. He highly encouraged me, in a very sarcastic tone, to write my heart out, on any social media that I desired. He also told me that I should ask GM for more than the $50 gift card. I had told him that if my time was money, then I would have more than $50; which is when he laughed out loud and said, “go for more”; I wouldnt settle for $50 when you could get more. This guy was one of the rudest people that I have ever dealt with my phone. I am a LOYAL GM customer; I have a GM credit card which I have used to purchase 8 GM cars over the last ten years. I walked off Jim Bishop Chevrolet in Muscle Shoals, AL with THREE BRAND NEW vehicles in one day. Since then, two of the three have been trade for other BRAND NEW VEHICLES. I am driving my THIRD Buick Lacrosse. I can assure you that I will NEVER purchase another GM card and will be returning my GM card back to GM and will choose another credit card. Cable Dahmer does not deserve to carry the GM name. I cannot imagine that there could be ONE CUSTOMER that could assure me that they were treated with dignity and respect at that dealership. I am basing this review on the relationship with not one, but two salesmen and two customer service representatives. I have written another email requesting a meeting with the owner, all of which I have been denied. My guess is that these people are hiding this from the owner because I cannot seem to meet with him. I am writing this in SHEER FRUSTRATION and ANGER that ANY dealership has this type of deceit and power over customers. Again, all of this was over a $50 gift card, but has exploded into something far more serious than that. We bought a GMC truck and we are happy with it; we walked into CF, a few streets over, and walked out with a brand new truck. They made the deal without even seeing the truck we were trading in; we didnt know if we were trading or if we would sell and then buy. The CD dealership kept calling and saying they couldnt even give us a price without seeing our truck.” WE kept telling them that we didnt know if we wanted to trade or not; just give us a price. WE NEVER received a price on a truck! NEVER! They are the ones that lost the $48,000 sale and they are the ones that, with my reviews, hopefully, will lose many more sales. I will post if and when the owner decides to meet. I have been denied and have every expectation that it isnt going to come about.

I bought a new vehicle 2014 Chevy Camaro with a v6 3.7 engine and GM didnt think it was necessary to install a low oil sensor in their engines. Recently I changed my oil as I have always on time when prompted to. And replaced oil filter cap and the o-ring did not seal properly so needless to say without any warning lights or anything the engine pumped out 5 1/2 quarts of much needed 6 total of my oil. Didnt realize anything was wrong until the engine started making a loud noise. Of course GM says theyre not responsible for this mistake because I changed my own oil. But I ask GM why I can buy a $99 lawn mower with a low oil sensor in the engine to protect my investment but a $26,000 Camaro does not have a low oil sensor in the engine to protect my investment. I said even if I fix the car myself this can happen again.I have always been a Chevy man but this just makes no sense to me why they would not invest another $20-$30 to protect what the dealer said will cost me now at least $9500 for a new engine, which I totally disagree with because its only ticking and may not need a new engine but for now and the next 4-5 yrs. Ill be paying very high payments on a yellow lemon yard ornament... this should be a recall. Theres no excuse for this type of manufacturing, very disappointed in the brand Ive bragged about for many years. If this is their best they can build for consumers, they should stop building cars. At this point, I can promise I will always tell people about the warning of the disrespect for consumer investment that GM does not care one damn bit about you after you purchase their product. Thank you, Rick... a very disappointed consumer.

I contacted GM motors complaints department many times regarding a cracked passengers airbag section. The full airbag compartment is cracked perfectly around the bag and my car is showing the sign of service airbag. Clearly this is a manufacturing problem. However, they are refusing to pay the service to check to ensure the airbag is safe. I will hold GM responsible for ANY damage that happens if the airbag inflates for no reason since the compartment is obviously cracked and in a perfect shape around the bag. I am too scared to even have a passenger sit in my car in the front out of fear that it could inflate at anytime with no proper cause. They continually and in writing have refused to pay for the service. They will be paying a whole lot more than $100 if this bag opens up suddenly in my car.ZERO HELP from their staff. You have to contact them multiple times to actually receive a reply. Multiple emails to have someone call you back. They give you their number and extension but NEVER answer their calls. When they call you back if you are not available next to your phone, dont expect them to answer your call back even if its seconds later. NEVER EVER BUYING A GM CAR EVER IN MY LIFE AGAIN. Guaranteed am also telling everyone I know the same. They are great as long as you are signing your cheques over for them, otherwise, NO ONE CARES for your safety or anything else. Am sure this review will also be insignificant to them, but at least if anyone wants to know the truth about them, they can read all the different opinions of real people before deciding.

I have a 2010 and repeatedly have issues. It has been to the dealer as it completely lost power in rush hour. Car dash said Service ABS, power, saver mode, traction control, service ESC and then died. I took to shop and they replaced the PCM is what they told me. Car has since had lose of power, sluggish, dies periodically, and now almost 3 years after thousand dollar repair not to mention the air bag light that is on that they are telling me will cost at least 1000 dollars as well to repair as my car is out of warranty and that it is a safety concern. My car died again while coming through a intersection and the P0341 has come up and been replaced four times since February 2019. This car is a danger and I am forced to drive it when it runs as I have so much money invested I cant afford a new one. I have also replaced the throttle body and just about every sensor under the hood including spark plugs and battery and car is still acting up. Why are they not helping us. Someone is going to get killed. It stalls suddenly and with little to no warning. I am terrified to transport my kids in this car. Please help us…

In October I filed a complaint with Consumer Affairs and since then I got my car fixed at the same dealership and got cheated. In October when I bought the vehicle there was a problem with the steering and I mentioned to the sale guy and manager several times. Finally after many tries they decide to fix the steering. A month of owning the vehicle, the air went out. I went back and was told it, they have to fix two issues, one with the fan where there is a short in the wiring and the other was a hose from the compressor to condenser. Originally it was going to cost me $984 and the Sales manager took off about $200 which made it around $761. I called GM and file a complaint with them and the Service manager Michael called me and offer a 20% discount to fix both issues which made it $561. I called GM and express my concern and received another call from Michael where he advised me that he fixed the issue with the fan sometime back and didnt charge me but he had to still pay his tech. Now that I am getting the air fix he includes that charge for what they fixed at the time as no charge, but now there is a charge. On my invoice only showed the air being fixed. I need an invoice that shows the work that was done. Also, I will file a complaint with Consumer Affairs and BBB. I will never recommend anyone to come to this dealer.

I purchased my vehicle in October, 2019. A couple months later, the vehicle experiences 4 recalls - 1 battery, 2 brake and 1 seat belt. After the dealer performed the recalls, the update broke several safety features such as front camera system, driver collision alerts, lane keep assist and whatever else. After attempting to fix the issue, they were unable to do so and escalated the case within GM. After GM was involved, the recommended solution was to replace the front camera system but the part was not in stock with no ETA of when it could be delivered. Over 20 days later, my brand new vehicle remains at the dealership unfixed due to the lack of a part. I escalated the issue with GM customer service and was assigned to someone named Victoria. Case #: **.After several exchanges with Victoria, nothing has been resolved. Victoria has assured me of several updates and working on the case, but has not been able to deliver for this vehicle. At this point, Ive explained my discomfort with the vehicle due to the variety of safety recalls and safety features that have gone awry. Ive explained I would like a comparable vehicle or a resolution that would restore my faith in a vehicle that seems to have had a bad run. Nothing has been done.

I purchased my ‘16 Yukon in August of 2017 and by far this was the worst purchased I could’ve made. Since the day if purchase, I have to repair/replace the battery, motor mounts (~5 days after purchased), some plug for the transmission as the RPMs continuously revs up at highway speeds over 3000 rpms, several computer resets, the AC (2x), the weather strips around the door frame of the vehicle, fuel injection pump, and transmission. The truck often jerks forward while in low speeds almost causing me to rear end someone even while applying the brake. It seems as if I’m using an extensive amount of brake pressure as this truck is very unpredictable and unsafe. At times it has stuttered where it felt like I had no power while traffic causing vehicles to almost hit me. I’ve been told by the service department that they could not duplicate the issue. These concerns are very serious and definitely unsafe. It’s a shame that GM has taken the stance to ignore these issues.

After driving my 2010 Equinox purchased new for 18000 mi. with mostly highway driving at 55-60, the best I get is 22mpg. That is a far cry from the22/29 which was highly advertised for a 4 cylinder awd. It was the main selling point for me. The service manager at Richard Chev. told me that I will not see those numbers and he didnt know how they came up with them. After 45 yrs., this will be my last GM purchase. Just once, it would be nice if a company meant what they said and said what they meant.
