Would like to any other people have experienced this? Contacted GM and was told it passed warranty so it was my problem. Been buying new GM trucks for 35 plus years and could not even get anyone in management to discuss the matter. Requested warranty manager information and was informed that could not be given out. Anjelica dismissed my complaint and request by knowing how I feel? Now I have a vehicle that should be very valuable as a trade in that has lost most of its value due to a GM defect in its process.Working as a supplier for many years GM finds any defect products from a supplier they put them on third party inspection at the suppliers cost even if it puts them out of business. This is in stark contrast to Honda for example who send their best engineers from the company to help solve any issues with no cost to the supplier. Tried to find a place on the GM website to ask this but guess they did not provide that so people would not see their lack of quality control.
I purchased a new 2019 Chevy Blazer in June 2019. In October 2019 another driver ran a red light and hit me. My car had front end damage that I have now been waiting over 4 months for repair on. GM cannot tell the dealership or the repair shop when the parts will be in and will not assist in putting me in a replacement vehicle in the interim. I started a claim within their customer service department at corporate and cannot get anyone to assist me or return my calls. I have been waiting over a month to speak to an actual person to help me. In the interim I have no vehicle and am out of pocket almost $5,000 in rental car fees. GM has forgotten the customer in customer service and as someone whose last 4 vehicles were GM, it is disappointing to see. I will not be a return customer anymore after this horrible ongoing experience. Stay away. They cannot meet the demand for parts on anything, nor do they care.
I own a 2021 GMC Sierra with 9000 miles on it, I bought it in March 2021 and in September 2021 it received a check engine light. The dealership tells me its the cylinder heads and its a known defect. Its now mid October and GM has no idea when they will have the part for my truck. In the meantime, I have had no truck for moving me into my new home, Im worried that the vacation I planned with my truck will be with some crappy rental car, Im very frustrated with this situation.
Sign said Free engine code light analysis, so I did. They read the code then told me it would be $50 to diagnose it. I thought that was what they did. I gave them the money, then I was told $300 more for repair. I made the appointment, they reread codes again, and it was a different problem. But it would fix the first problem according to a bulletin. It was the same $300, but they charged $80 more for the part than GM online parts and somehow got the time to total 1.5 hr after a .5 credit for the first reading. And still, they had my vehicle in and out of the shop in 1 hr and 15 minutes. GM told me this is not within their control and when your warranty runs out, so does your luck and their responsibility for faulty builds.
I have been trying to resolve an issue with a dealership and with GM customer service regarding my 2014 Chevy Spark. This vehicle has had 3 (yes, three) piston replacements as well as a new engine put in. They are giving me the runaround regarding a buy back under the lemon law. They seem to have no interest in keeping a customer or accepting responsibility. I was warned about the dealership but I thought GM would step up to the plate. No such luck so far. So disappointed.
I contacted GM Financial a few months ago to inquire what I needed to do in order to pay my car off early. The young lady I spoke with informed me that all I needed to do was make extra payments and that would clear. She NEVER said anything about once making my final car payment that I would have a principal balance remaining. When GM Financial contacted me to inform me of this matter a few weeks ago, I was FURIOUS!!! All this time, I was thinking Im making my car payments and its allowing me to pay my car off early, but not even knowing that once I make my last car payment, I would still be stuck with a bill of over $1500. I filed a complaint and Im so upset. I just recently purchased a home and I did not want to go into this home with a car payment, but now I have to rearrange so many things to pay this off. I will never do business with GM Financial again and Im now better informed about what actually takes place AFTER you pay your car off.
The brakes on my 2017 Buick Envision squeak loudly when backing up and I only had 12,000 miles when this first occurred. I have taken the car twice to Suburban Buick GMC of Troy, Michigan and they said GM is aware of the issue but will not repair since it is life threatening. GM has notified all dealers that this is caused by performance brakes that have dust buildup. The service person stated they have had hundreds of complaint across all GM cars that have these performance brakes. I have purchased dozens of GM cars in the past but will consider other car companies in the future. Has anyone experienced this problem with other car manufacturers?
In October of 2016 the engine light came on, and it was discovered to have been caused by the mass airflow system. I had this part replaced but within a few days the light was on again. I brought the car back to the shop and the part was replaced a second time. Upon test drive, the light again came back on. A third part was ordered and replaced. When the light came on for the fourth time, my mechanic ran through the wiring system but did not find anything out of the ordinary. He ran checks on the gas pedal and various other sensors. He then deduced that the problem was not with any of the sensors, nor any of the mechanical systems in the vehicle. He thought it might be the ECM, but advised me to bring the car to Central Chevrolet to have them look deeper into the issue. The Astra was taken to Central Chevrolet, where they subsequently ran diagnostics and discovered that the ECM was, in fact, bad. I inquired about purchasing an ECM from a parts site that I will not name, but was informed that GM would be unable to or would not program the computer unless it was an OEM part. At this point, my hands were tied. I would have to spend $700 on the part if I wanted my car to run properly again. I bit the bullet and told them to go ahead and move forward with the repair.Central Chevrolet received the part and assigned one of their GM technicians to begin the programming. As the process neared completion, the ECM was bricked. A second ECM was purchased and a second, more qualified GM tech was assigned to do the programming. He was on the phone with either a TAC or TISS representative I cant recall which and together they went through the programming process step by step. Again, the programming failed toward the end and bricked the part. It was not until after this second part failed that GM decided to inform the service department at Central Chevrolet that the pre-2009 Saturn software for this part is no longer available. So here I am now, six months after the engine light first came on and at least six weeks without my vehicle. As I was without the car for several days here and there for troubleshooting between October and March, the inconvenience is even greater. How can GM just let software go away for a car that is not even ten years old? Its software, its not like its taking up a bunch of space in a warehouse somewhere. Additionally, how does GM sell a part to a repair shop TWICE without advising that the software required to make it work no longer exists? And then to wait until AFTER the second part bricks?I called GMs customer service line and spoke with Joe, who sent me to Shaneva. Shaneva informed me that she would call Central Chevrolet for more details, and that I would have to wait 24-72 hours before receiving an update. The call came at the 72nd hour. When Shaneva informed me that in lieu of a resolution, I was being offered an Owners Loyalty Certification, I asked to be directed to a supervisor. I was told my call would be returned within 24-48 hours. I received no response within that time frame, and I actually had to call back again.I have since retrieved my car from Central Chevrolet. It is now in much worse condition than it was when I brought it in, and the vehicle is simply not safe to drive. I expected the original issue to still be a problem. I did NOT expect to be left with a car that I can no longer drive AT ALL! I have been a GM customer/vehicle owner for over 20 years, and I have never had a problem, until now. I am extremely disappointed in the way this situation has been unfolding. When I purchase a car, I expect it to get old and to need repairs. I also expect to have the choice of whether to make those repairs. In this situation, not only do I have no choice, but GM has the gall to offer me an Owners Loyalty Certificate with the expectation that I would purchase another GM product.
They sure dont care about us after they sell the car. Safety recall in my car they refuse to honor because of vin #. Clearly it can be seen with ones eyes. Exact recall but they say no its not in their system? I have it saved in my phone. An official GM site with recall # and still refuse. What a joke and a very sad case. Shame on GM.
2015 Yukon rims peeling so bad, theyre not holding air and cant be balanced. Tried to resolve issue with dealer and customer care and finally a manager with customer care, she was rude, unhelpful. Ive always driving GM. Its disgusting how they treat loyal customers, I filed a complained with BBB and I encourage anyone with the same, because it is a safety issue.
Does anyone else have this problem? I bought my 2012 GMC Terrain in Jan 2012. During my first week of owning it, we had some bad snow storms. The state uses a lot of salt to battle ice. When I opened the door, I had some difficulty opening it. When I did get it open, I noticed snow, slush, dirt, etc. at the rocker panel area where the inside bottom of my door meets the vehicle. I showed this twice to the dealership and they mainly stated they had never seen anything like it. Now this summer, the vehicle is leaking dust into the vehicle and builds up mud and dust at the rocker panel area. I took it back to the dealer and they put mud guards to see if they will help. I still see dust and dirt at the rocker panel. Otherwise, I like my Terrain. Please, if anyone is having this problem, I would like to know.
We bought a 2017 Chevy Silverado new. We drove it off the lot and on our way home it started stuttering. We took it back several times to the dealership. We were told things such as: GM knew there was a problem but couldnt fix it, it needed to get used to the way we drive, it needs broke in. Two years down the road it continues to have problems and they are only getting bigger. GM will not stand behind the fact that there is something wrong with this truck and make it right. We drove our last Chevy truck for 12 years and now are hesitant to continue to drive GM products. They advertise as the working mans truck but wont stand behind it when there is a problem.
I love my GMC Envoy. Very enjoyable ride and mo mechanical problems at all. Im enjoying the multiple CD player and the deep bucket seats. I love the leather interior, the moonroof and the dual closure. I also like the door and window locks, the automatic seats and that they remember which driver you are. I like the interior design and the colors of both interior and exterior. The seats are very comfortable as well. I dislike however how far back the seat belts are attached. Also the center console takes up a lot of space but the way its designed it doesnt hold much so its wasting space.
My 2012 GMC Denali 2500 HD developed an issue with the heater in the DEF tank. I have been told that there are no replacement parts available in the US and there is no time frame on getting parts to repair my vehicle. There are 5 other trucks at my same dealer with the same or similar issue with the DEF tanks. I find it very hard to believe that there are no parts available, yet GM continues to produce new trucks. Stop the line and fix the vehicles that have already been purchased. To top it all off I was offered a rental CAR, not a TRUCK. I gave them a truck and was given nothing but stress when I asked for a truck in replacement. I didnt buy a CAR because I needed and use my TRUCK for the capabilities of a truck.
I purchased a truck from GM on June 20th. I was told that I would have the registration in a week or two because it had to be signed and go through their legal department. (Too long to begin with but whatever). So I pay at the dealership Brett Chevrolet in Saint John NB and I waited. After two weeks I call and Im told its still not ready. I call a few more times still nothing and yesterday July 11 their business department tells me they have the papers and now have to send them to motor vehicle and that it will be ready in a day or two. So again I wait. I decided to call today and check and the original guy is now on vacation and a different fella tells me they just got the paperwork from GM today and he will send it tomorrow and theres nothing I can do to speed it up. Needless to say its difficult to purchase a vehicle from them or rather get a registration from them for the vehicle that you purchased. The whole inter-departmental finger pointing dont work for me and GM needs to get their .... together on making these processes run smoother. I mean, I cant even legally drive a truck I bought almost a month ago because I dont have a registration, really?
As an owner of a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse, a GMC Sierra, and having previously owned a 2010 Buick Enclave, I know I will never choose to purchase another GM Vehicle. I have had almost identical problems with the two SUVs. Both had major problems with steering, where the steering wheel locks up and will not turn quickly (almost as if the power steering goes out). This is extremely scary when you are making a turn while yielding to oncoming traffic. I had this repaired in my Enclave and it required removing the motor to repair $$$. The Traverse has had very similar problems with the timing chain which needs to be replaced (just as it happened with the Enclave). I just had the AC blower and a tire sensor replaced and was told by the mechanic that the timing chain would still be covered under warranty since the car has less than 120K miles so I went ahead and let them do the other repairs ($600 worth) only to find out that the timing chain ($3500) would not be covered under the warranty. The car is now losing power so Im sure it wont last much longer. These cars are junk after a few years and each time I called Chevrolet Cares and they would do absolutely nothing to help.
As GM is fully aware of the noisy leaf spring issues with 2014-2018 Silverados and Sierras, BUT refuses to do anything about it. Talking to the local dealership (Davis Chevrolet-Gainesville, FL) was a real joke and of course getting an actual person to call back from Chevrolet Customer Assistance 866-790-5600 Extension: ** is a real joke. Always been a Chevy fan, my whole family has, but will shop for a Ford next time. What happened to a company that actually backs their products?!!! Lets be sure to outsource more so we can get more crappy products.
I have a 2011 Terrain with the best gas mileage, 26 driving at 60 mph. I drive 120 miles a day to work and back, speed limit 55 mph and I have 63,000 miles on the car. On May 1st, I parked the car at work and when I went move it again, it would not go into gear. I had to get a tow truck and take it to the GMC dealership. They said they didnt have any loaners and I had no way of getting home. So, I found a car rental (only place in town) and all they had was a Chrysler van so I took it. The dealership said it was a bad transmission and replaced it on May 4. When I picked up my car, I asked about covering the cost of the rental. They asked what type of car I rented. I said Chrysler and they said it had to be another GMC. At that time, when they didnt have a loaner, nobody said you had to rent another GMC. When I got the car home, I noticed I had transmission fluid on the floor, so I had to take it back again on May 7 (no car for the weekend). They said they forgot the seal kit and were able to repair it the same day. On 7-20, coming to work, the transmission started to sound funny. Halfway to work, it would go into 1st gear. I had to drive to the dealership doing 35 mph, late for work. I did get a loaner car this time. Out of all the new cars I have bought (Chryslers), I have never had transmission problems and now I have two bad transmissions. Whats the chance of that? This vehicle is costing me time and money. I bought a new vehicle so I wouldnt have these problems. The company I work for supplies parts for this vehicle and you demand 0 defects. Im not sure why you would treat your customer this way!
Transmission wont upshift from 2 to 3 or 4 - I purchased this LS3 engine and 4L70 transmission, along with all the accessories, computers and wire harnesses. The engine works great, but the transmission wont shift. I have called GM Performances hotline techs for help and got a case number. I never get a good answer from them on connections I am supposed to make and the pinouts they send dont match up to what they are telling me to do. The last tech I talked to told me to bring it to my GM dealer with my case number. I did this yesterday, 12-5-12, and they were looking at it today. I had to bring them my laptop to look at the program and they called the techs twice, still with no answers? What is the big secret with the so-called plug and play units? Why cant I get the right wiring harness or computer program when I buy this unit? Not clear instructions even for an old GM mechanic. Can I get help with this? Thank you.
My father is 87 years old and leased a 2015 Buick Lacrosse as he had faithfully either purchased or leased General Motors cars for decades. Unfortunately, he has been diagnosed with cancer, was hospitalized and is now living in an assisted living facility in Cleveland, Ohio. His physician has recommended that he no longer drives due to him being a fall risk and just his overall decrease in acute motor skills, thus, enabling him to have the needed precision and rapid flexibility needed to drive effectively. As a result, my father turned his car in to General Motors only to be told, cancer or no cancer, unable to drive or not at now 87 years old, he still owes roughly $8,000 on the remainder of his lease and mind you the car has been sold or re-leased. To that end, General Motors will now receive double payment for a car my father can no longer drive. As his daughter, I think this is awful without regard for the plight of senior citizens. I think this is nothing less than highway robbery and greed on the part of General Motors. Why are they leasing cars to 87 year olds anyway without a clause that addresses acute illness or inability to drive by virtue of a doctors orders??? I believe General Motors should be ashamed of themselves for taking undue advantage of the elderly...but then again why should they care when the CEOs and CFOs responsible for making and executing leasing policy and procedures have been raking in money and reaping the benefits of million dollar bonuses forever... Bet you will not see one of them standing in a Walgreens line choosing between medication, food or assisted living rent while simultaneously paying for a sold, leased vehicle they no longer own... Way to go General Motors. Rape the elderly all the way to the bank!
I have purchased 25 or more GMC vehicles. I now have a Lemon. The worst part is that the dealership is not willing to assist. They have told me that they rotated my tires to fix the problem and the magic marker dots were still on the front so they dont do that. They also told me that they road tested several miles and the trip meter showed.04 tenth of a mile. I was told by the service overall supervisor that the problem was GM has a fault in the engine going from V8 to V4 at lower speeds and the vehicle will not ride well. I was told by GMC Corp that they would have a factory Rep ride with me and go over the problem and it never happened. The dealership will fix an employees vehicle with fast action but a customer has to beg and plead. Paying $48,000 dollars for a vehicle that is no fun to drive is poor and unacceptable. They are not even honoring their warranty by fixing the Lemon. My question is why does the customer have to be lied to at all phases of conversation and just fix it.
Our 2007 Pontiac G-5 is under the faulty ignition switch recall. The recall that has caused several deadly accidents. We received notification in the mail from GM in March of 2014. It stated that the parts would be available the second week of April 2014. We took our car to Brown & Wood dealership in Greenville NC. The part was supposedly ordered. We have checked back weekly like we were asked to. The part is never in. There was one car ahead of us to be fixed. A Chevy cobalt. That car and several others have been fixed. Our part is still not in?? When we call GM we are either hung up on, or are told we dont know where your part is or when it will come in?? For the past several weeks we have been asking the dealership for a receipt or something showing that our part had been ordered, and that we were going to talk to an attorney. They have continually put us off. Finally we get a call from the owner telling us not to call the dealership anymore and stop calling GM. We were also told giving us a receipt for when the part was ordered would not do any good??? We were due to go on vacation in June 2014. Our vacation was booked and paid for long before we found out about the recall and how dangerous the car is. We asked for a rental car with racks to haul our equipment. We were told in an e-mail to Congressman Walter Jones office (which we went to for some possible help) from GM that our car is arguably safe, we were instructed to drive the car with only one key, and to drive our own car on vacation. They would not provide a rental like they say they will. We have FULL RENTAL INSURANCE on our auto policy. The Pontiac that we bought from them in 2007 with our own racks on it, we bought in good faith that the car would stay in proper and safe working order. They should have and were responsible for providing a rental car under the circumstances to make sure that their consumers were safe. GM is a sorry company! Our taxpayer dollars bailed this sorry company out. Mary Barra recently did an interview on the Today Show on NBC. The interview was nothing but about herself. What she supposedly has done and is going to do. Mrs. Barra, where is the part for our death trap car you sold us in 2007? Where is the notification to your customers, you know CUSTOMERS people that keep you in business? If there is a delay with the parts you should notify consumers. Your are doing it by VIN Number. Explain please??? Are you fixing certain cars first, are you picking and choosing certain consumers cars to fix first??? Communicate with your customers. We think that a class action lawsuit should be brought against GM for everyones deadly car that has not been fixed in a timely manner for putting customers under the stress that they have put us under. Your notification GM states that the parts would be available the second week of April 2014. If there are any attorneys out there that have a class action against GM, please contact us, we are interested. This is unacceptable. These cars are dangerous. Living with the possibility that your car can just freeze up at any time and they are dragging their feet getting the parts made. We will never buy another GM car. NEVER! Folks think hard before you buy a GM vehicle. Shame on you Mary Barra. You are constantly on TV giving interviews not telling the whole truth. Oh, but what do we expect? You are a part of the government, and you and your company lied for 10 years about these cars. Stop making everyone believe that customers are being taken care of and for the most part are happy with GM. NO WE ARE NOT! Fix our deadly car. We encourage anyone that if their recalled cars have still not been fixed and you are getting no communication from GM please make complaints and write reviews.
I purchased a new 2018 Chevy Traverse in July of 2018 from Hendrick Chevrolet in Cary, NC. It has now been in the shop for the third time, this time for 6 weeks because the part is not available. I find it hard to believe that a large manufacturer like GM does not have the part needed to fix my car. I am in the second loaner from the dealership and they are trying to switch me out again. I really dont think customer service is GMs specialty.
2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Z71. Since the vehicle was picked up at the dealer, the truck was pulling to the right. Not drifting, it was pulling. Wasted time out of my day and brought it back to the dealer. They aligned the front end. When picked up it was still pulling to the right. I decided to bring it to a dealer closer to my office and they aligned the front end again and rotated the tires. Lo and behold, still pulling. I dropped it off again and they adjusted the steering sensor and rotated the tires from left to right. Still pulling. I called GM and after being on hold for over 45 minutes they told me they would look into it. 4 days later they called me and said it might be the tires and they are not covered under warranty that I would have to contact Goodyear. I have no idea what to do next. My advice: STAY AWAY FROM GM PRODUCTS. THEY DONT CARE ONE BIT ABOUT THEIR PRODUCTS OR CUSTOMERS.
I purchased a 2015 Silverado from Advantage Chevrolet in Bolingbrook, Il. After a short time I began to notice a vibration in the truck. When traveling between 45 mph and 55 mph and more so when traveling between 65 mph and 75 mph. The vibration is noticeable as the water bottle in the center council shakes and the hood and rear view mirror vibrate. This is a new truck, currently less than 6,000 miles. I am a long time GM owner, have purchased somewhere around 15 new GM vehicles and owned at least another 5 used vehicles. I am 54 years old and consider myself to be a long and faithful GM customer. This very well may change in the near future.I took my vehicle back to the dealer for service, they said it was operating within normal tolerances. I asked how that could be and how they came to that conclusion? I was told they hooked it up to monitors and compared it to another vehicle (same make and model) and they both gave the same results. After much discussion and me expressing my displeasure, I was told that there was a bulletin out from GM dated 6/23/2016 that tells the dealerships to not attempt to fix the issue any longer as they have changed tires, rotated tires, balanced tires and replaced rims with no success at eliminating the problem. The GM bulletin states that they are aware of the issue and trying to come up with a fix.I called a customer service number (800-222-1020) and created a case number (**). I was told by the dealer that this would create a case and it would elevate until it was resolved. I was told by the complaint line that they would contact the dealer and get back to me with their findings within 48 hours. When they got back to me (approximately 51 hours later) I was told that the dealer had done everything they could and the case was closed. I asked to speak with a higher level manager from the organization and was turned over to a senior consultant (Crystal). She reaffirmed that the case was resolved and that I could not speak to anyone else and have no other options. I attempted to call back to other times and speak with someone else, once I spoke with James who assured me that the case would be re-opened and Crystal would not be involved any longer. James also stated that Crystal should have let me speak to another consultant and what she did was wrong. In the end, the case went back to Crystal and she closed the case with no resolution.Needless to say, I am a very dissatisfied GM customer (soon to be a former GM customer) and am finding it very hard to get in contact with anyone at GM and seems to care about the customer. $40,000.00 truck that vibrates, a company that knows they have a problem as they sent out a bulletin but does not want to speak to the customer about the issue. The sad thing is, I just want to know what they are doing to try and identify the issue and fix it. Unfortunately, I will not own the truck much longer, will not buy GM products any longer and will lose money due to their poor customer service and lack of commitment to their customers. GM apparently doesnt need repeat customers. If by chance a GM Representative reads this, please contact me. I would love to discuss this issue and the extremely poor customer service representatives you have fielding your complaints at the 800 number above. I can say some of the representatives were trying to help. The senior rep should be in another line of work.
Went to local dealer in which my whole family uses and wanted to get a new car. Btw... bought 2 cars in Lake Orion area 10, 11 years ago with great experience. Anyways, went to get a Malibu (sales) to my local dealer in which my whole family uses so I trusted it to be okay. Saw a Malibu Elite with a 29 something sale sticker that I wanted. Went to talk to a sales person at Vic Canever, said interested in the deal, we had to go look, he was unaware. He said that there was criteria. I didnt have a lease, a criteria BUT, he could get me close to that deal. Going thru his hour and a half of mumble jumbo I kept asking the price of the car. I got 29750 oh then better 29595! Great! Very excited! Well after 3 1/2 hours later very tired!Finance guy told me my payments. 417 month well I had a trade in on 3800 plus put down 5000 seemed high, so called the next day and the sales person claimed that the total of the car that I kept asking the amount included my trade in, Really! Bunch of **! Well when we went to the parking lot to look at the sticker sale, he didnt even know that I had a trade in or what it was, anyways ended up paying $3000 more than I thought. I feel like I was taken advantage of. I will never go back to Vic Canever in Fenton again! I know the deal that I got was average and almost just went somewhere else, but thought if I didnt purchase it then I would never get one (personal thing) anyways, love the car but cant enjoy until I get over this horrible experience! IT JUST SUCKS! THANKS VIC CANEVER IN Fenton!
I purchased a 2011 Chevy Impala LTZ from King Auto in 2012. It was certified pre-owned with very low mileage. It came with warranty coverage, but luckily I purchased additional extended warranty coverage. My first problem I had was the rack & pinion needing to be replaced. Then one day there was a knocking noise coming from the dashboard area, that turned out to be the acuator valves needing to be replaced. I had to go to the dealer twice about the acuator valves needing to be replaced. The acuator valves and rack & pinion problem was in 2013. For the next 3 years I did not experience any major problems, but in May of 2016 my L.E.D. readout display said SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL - SERVICE STABILITRAK!! Immediately after seeing that display, I experienced major engine failure and other mechanical problems. This happened without warning. My car was towed to Ourisman Chevy and they said that the engine needed to be replaced. The Chevy Impala only had 78,000 miles and it needed a new engine. My warranty plan paid for the engine to be replaced. Fast forward November 11, 2019. Im coming from visiting my mother. My Chevy is riding smooth, no problems. Then suddenly without warning, my check engine light begins flashing, the motor starts rumbling and losing power, and the display says SERVICE STABILITRAK - SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL. The same problem from 2013 happened again. Plus my Onstar daignostic report confirmed the same problems. The next day Im at the dealership, Ourisman Chevy, and after hours of diagnosing my car they bring me to the back of the shop, and the mechanic working on my car shows and tell me that my pistons were misfiring thousands of times and that the camshaft was damaged. He said there was no way to repair the damage and that the engine would have to be replaced. The service tech then tells me that its only going to cost $4,500 plus other expenses to get my Chevy back on the road. My car had 126,014 miles on the odometer. I want to say that my extended warranty company at the time replaced my engine with an engine that had 38,000 miles on it, and my car had 78,000 miles when the engine went bad in 2013. This means that the second engine only lasted for a little more than 48,000 miles. I want to also add that my neighbor and co-worker also owned the same Chevy, same year, and the also experienced the same exact problem with the rack & pinion, acuator valves and ultimately the STABILITRAK SYSTEM failing thereby causing all 3 of us disappointment in this product. My co-worker stated that his car had 126,000 miles when his STABILITRAK SYSTEM and other problems occurred. My neighbor and co-worker had to replace their Chevys too.On November 11, 2019 when my Chevy Impala died for the second time with the same problem, I did not have an extended warranty. I will never purchase another Chevy product. I am terribly disappointed, and I hope that they read this review. I also hope that they have corrected the STABILITRAK SYSTEM on the newer Chevy Impalas.
Product Safety recall 08411 fuel system control module - Turns out the fuel system control module failed on my GM SUV, exactly like they said in the recall notice, however since my trucks VIN # is only a few units past the group of numbers they assumed to be the bad ones, no help at the dealer. I sent a note to GM, still waiting on a response.
2011 GMC Acadia Timing Chain and HORRIBLE GM Customer Service - My parents who are in their 60s and 70s and on a fixed income, life long GM buyers, own a 2011 GM Acadia. The Acadia is only (116) miles outside the Power Train warranty, yes 1 1 6 when the timing chain went out. Now they are looking at a repair bill of nearly $3000 which they do not have to pay. My Mom has spent hours on the phone with GM reps asking for some assistance with the repairs and was told today that the only thing GM could do to help was to offer her a $100 voucher for an oil change, in a vehicle that she cant even drive. My parents are going out of state this weekend for their grandsons high school graduation and are having to borrow a car to make the trip. GM has repeatedly proven that this is of no concern whatsoever to them and they have no intention of honoring their poorly designed product, even though there are hundreds if not thousands of complaints about the Acadia online with this exact same issue. GM will not stand by their product or honor the loyalty of their lifelong customers, yet whenever they are in financial troubles they expect our government dollars to step in and assist them and bail them out. If this auto was out of warranty 10,000 miles I could understand but it is only out of the warranty 116 miles and still only being offered a $100 oil change voucher is a slap in the face.
In October I filed a complaint with Consumer Affairs and since then I got my car fixed at the same dealership and got cheated. In October when I bought the vehicle there was a problem with the steering and I mentioned to the sale guy and manager several times. Finally after many tries they decide to fix the steering. A month of owning the vehicle, the air went out. I went back and was told it, they have to fix two issues, one with the fan where there is a short in the wiring and the other was a hose from the compressor to condenser. Originally it was going to cost me $984 and the Sales manager took off about $200 which made it around $761. I called GM and file a complaint with them and the Service manager Michael called me and offer a 20% discount to fix both issues which made it $561. I called GM and express my concern and received another call from Michael where he advised me that he fixed the issue with the fan sometime back and didnt charge me but he had to still pay his tech. Now that I am getting the air fix he includes that charge for what they fixed at the time as no charge, but now there is a charge. On my invoice only showed the air being fixed. I need an invoice that shows the work that was done. Also, I will file a complaint with Consumer Affairs and BBB. I will never recommend anyone to come to this dealer.
I have been a loyal GM owner for 20 years until now. The past 3 years have been pure hell and if I can help just 1 person by keeping them from experiencing the same then I am good with that. It began when we bought our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ. We loved the truck and never planned on getting rid of it. Around 18,000 miles on the vehicle and it began having a vibration on the interstate between 65-80 mph. We took it to the dealership and were told road force balance multiple times. We tried another shop and had them road force balance. Over the next couple months the vibration got worse. It became so severe that my child not only complained about his eyes hurting but even vomited from it shaking him so much. A week later the vibration turned more into a death wobble that was absolutely terrifying. With no answers from the dealer we were told it might be best to trade it in. After only 11 months of ownership we traded it in on a 2015 Yukon Denali thinking different drivetrain and suspension would be better. Boy were we wrong. The first week having the Yukon my transmission began slipping. The dealership went ahead and replaced the converter. A few weeks later it was raining severely so I decided to take my son to school. I ran outside and jumped into the Yukon only to find water dripping out from around my sun visor. I took a video of it and took it to the dealer. A few weeks later my transmission began jerking so back to the dealer only to be told I need a new transmission. A month later around 22,000 miles suddenly the Yukon begins having the same exact highway vibrations between 65-80 on the interstate. At this point Im exhausted and literally broken. All I wanted was a reliable vehicle that my family could travel in and enjoy. At this point we begin looking into other vehicles and considering a 3/4 ton diesel truck because they last right? But wait... We go to a dealership and look at trucks. They evaluate my trade in and thats when I almost passed out. At that time my trade value on my Yukon was I believe 48,000 give or take. I was offered (are you sitting down?) $25,000. Yes you read that right. Im going to quote the sales manager... Wholesalers are now aware of the major issues GM is having with their trucks and SUVs and many are scared to buy them so they are only going to offer half of the trade value. I sank. I then panicked. Was I going to be stuck with this vehicle that we cant utilize? I tried other dealerships and no help. Finally I went back to a GM dealership and called them about a diesel. They gave me fair trade for my Yukon so I traded it in on a brand new 2018 GMC 2500HD Denali.I drove out of state to pick it up only to leave in my new truck and feel a Vibration on the interstate. At first I thought it was just me being paranoid so I gave it a couple days. Sure enough it became worse. Highway vibration between 70-85 mph. It has now been almost 2 years and I am still fighting. My truck still vibrates and will shake you so severely that you cannot ride in it for long distances. My transmission clunks and slips. It constantly stays in regen mode cutting my fuel mileage in half making it almost impossible to even afford to drive daily in town. Both of my power mirrors malfunction. My AC has already molded and mildewed causing me to get sick. My local dealership has already lied to me trying to blame my tires, they have tried to say I had a bent rim when I didnt (I took it to the dealer I bought it from and the rim was fine) and Ive been told my tires were bad and then they were good.I have been told youre a small girl driving a big truck, youll get use to it. I had a technician tell me that since its a heavy duty truck it should have a load on it to make it ride better. Well, we hauled a trailer with a car on it and the vibration was still there. For over 2 years I never said anything to anyone other than attempting to work with the dealership and techs. Ive been nothing but polite and respectful only to be continuously lied to and pushed aside. The fact that there are thousands of other owners out there experiencing the same Vibration and getting the same treatment is only more proof that GM has a problem and will not acknowledge it nor help the loyal consumers that trusted them and their product. So much for GM standing behind their product. Instead they attempt to sweep the issues under the rug so to speak and leave their consumers begging for help and answers.I have not only lost thousands of dollars. I have lost time and sleep. Im tired of living in a constant state of anxiety constantly worrying if Im going to be stuck with a vehicle that I owe too much on to trade in and cant sell. A vehicle that I cant take my son on vacation in. Shame on you GM for doing this. Shame on you for turning your backs to thousands of loyal and faithful clientele that made you what you are. I hope the truth comes out and I hope GM makes it right.
I bought a new Chevy because I was tired of sinking money into my old car, and I figured I would rather have a car payment and a reliable car than put money in my old car. But now Im doing both because the 2013 Chevy Sonic I have is a lemon. Every month now I make a $300 car payment and I sink money into the Sonic because its broke down. Last month I pay $900 to have a water pump and radiator put in the month before that it was $250 for the motor for the driver side window. I cant afford this anymore. I am a 53 year old disable single woman who is on SSDI and Chevy will not do anything to help me. This is the 3rd Chevy Ive owned in my lifetime. Never never again.
I purchased a 2012 Chevy Cruze in February of 2012 with 15 miles on it and have had it on the garage 3 times for major repairs. The first being a thermostat and seals on the coolant lines. Then had to have all the coolant seals replaced after it overheated again. All of this happened before the first 30000 miles. Most recently my check engine light came on so I took it in and found that a wire for the valve intake to the emission system had broken. All of this on a car barely 3 years old. Contacted GM with my concerns and was told that they would contact the dealership so that the dealership or GM would cover a portion of the repair expense. Was contacted 2 days later by dealership. They said it wasnt their problem that they did their part and would forward my concerns back to GM since my problem was with the car not the service I was given. Was contacted by GM the following day to be told that GM would not be covering anything because I was said to be bad mouthing GM by saying there was a problem with the car they made. How is stating that GM sold me a car that has been nothing but problems bad mouthing anyone. I was stating facts. I bought a new car to avoid these problems and got more than I could have imagined. GM you should take more concern in your customer satisfaction. At this point in time if I could I would trade in this car and never purchase a GM product again. Your company has done nothing to take care of my concerns or problems. All that has been done is a personal attack on me as a customer with your claims of bad mouthing. So now customers cannot speak negative of a product for fear of your company deciding to not help them. I will tell everyone I know what terrible service I received from GM.
I purchased 2011 Equinox Dec. 2010 new with 65 miles on it. It has been in the shop for repairs ten times from Feb. 2011 to Mar 2014. Engine problems (twice) same thing, transmission, air conditioning, seat belts. All was under warranty. Recently, my Equinox was hit by another car. It was hit on the driver side, front wheel and front. The body shop quoted a price of $8,400 for repairs. It ended up $9,633. The body shop had my vehicle for almost a month to repair. The second day, after I picked it up from the shop, the engine light came on. I took it back to the body shop. They had to take it to a GM shop to run a diagnostic test which they charged $97.00 which I paid. The #2 coil needed replacing. They said this was not covered under my 100,000 mile power train. They are saying this was not related to the accident. NOT A HAPPY PERSON HERE. I have bought 3 other GM cars. No problems. I thought that if you bought a vehicle new, you would have only basic minor problems. I have 76,425 miles on my vehicle and it should be worth about $14,000 to $17,000. Once this vehicle is repaired, Im trading it.. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER GM CAR. I WILL BUY NISSAN, FORD, OR TOYOTA. YOU JUST LOST ANOTHER CUSTOMER.
Brand new 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500 Carhartt Edition. Broke down 2 months later in the middle of nowhere, could have died. Had to have truck towed to nearest Chevy dealer over 6 hours away. No one paid for the tow even though I had it covered in my warranty. I had to pay out of pocket and 20 days later my truck still sits in the shop at the Chevy dealer. My wife and I paid for the truck cash with all the money we saved up. Please save yourself and do not buy Chevy. They do not care and give you the run around with no answers.
My 2011 GMC Terrain 4-cylinder has very poor fuel mileage, 23 max on hwy although advertised at 28+. It has jerky shifting between 4th and 5th gear, noisy front fuel pump and poor turning radius.
I am a GM retiree. I visited David Stanley Chevrolet in Norman back 3 months ago. I was interested in leasing a vehicle like a Malibu, talked to the salesman and told him what I was looking for and he said he would locate a vehicle and give me some information. Well that never happened. Never heard a word. So last month went back to the same dealership and talked to another salesman, drove a Malibu and told him what I was looking for a lease, I was a GM employee. He said that he was busy with a client but would get back to me later that day. 3 weeks later, I received a call from the dealership saying he was sorry he forgot about me but had worked up something and I could come in and see what he had. Well I figured if he does not have time for me then I would go somewhere else.Christmas Eve day, I stepped into Jackie Cooper Cadillac in Norman. The salesman said he only had 9 months experience but would get me a great deal. Found a SUV on the showroom floor and asked how much would the lease would be on that vehicle. He told me that I could get the lease payment for $350.00 a month. Well I questioned him again and asked how much do I have to put down on the vehicle and was told $0. I asked him again if he was sure I could get that vehicle for $350.00 a month lease with no money down? Was assured again that I could, so I said lets do the paperwork and I will take delivery today. He told me great and got me in the Finance Dept. to do the paperwork. After going through the paperwork and signing everything, I was informed that the lease payment would be $550.00 a month. I looked at the finance manager and asked, What about the $350 lease that I was told by your salesman? He said that there was no way I could get a lease for that amount unless I was ready to put down almost $4000.00. I informed the finance manager that I was told I could get this lease for $350.00 a month. After being informed that there was no way I could get the vehicle, I informed the Manager that they had some training to do with their staff because they gave me the wrong information and I was very upset after wasting 2 to 3 hours dealing with new cars sales people. I walked out, never I am sorry, please come back and see what we can work on. So now I go to Ferguson GMC in Norman and inquire about a truck. They had advertised a truck in the paper for $25999.00. So I went out to take a look to see what they had to offer. Jeff the new cars sales Manager told me that since I was a GM employee I could pick out anything I wanted and that I would get a better price then what was advertised because of all the rebates and GM discounts that I was entitled to. So this salesman takes me out and asked what I was looking for and I told him I would like to have 4 wheel drive and towing package. Found a vehicle and went to the finance dept. to see what they could do. Well after spending a couple of hours doing paperwork, my payment would be $550.00 a month. I told them that I wanted the truck that they advertised and was told that I could not get that deal with 4 wheel drive. I said, Ok, lets see what you can do, so I told them that I had an appointment that I had to go to so find a truck and give me a call. So a few hours later, I get a call from Daniel from finance and he asked me if I could come in and see what they found for me. I told him that I had to go to a performance that evening and he asked if I could come in on Saturday around 10:30am. I said fine. I was feeling bad because it was 10 minutes to 11am and I do not like to have people waiting for me. So I go to the showroom floor and asked for Daniel, and after about 20 minutes I was informed that Daniel does not start working till noon. I told the manager that I was asked to be there at 10:30am to look at this truck that Daniel wanted me to see. Again I was told that Daniel does not come to work till noon. So they asked if someone else could help, I said no because apparently no one knows what Daniel had put aside for me, so I told him to have them call me when they think they can get their act together. About 4pm, I receive a call from the salesman that helped me out the 1st time I came to the store. He informed me that they had a truck for me to look at and could I come in... I said I would see. The following Monday, I get a call from Jeff the new car Manager, he said please come out and look at a truck that he had set aside for me. I told him I would be right there. He said make sure you ask for Jeff because he would treat me right. I asked Jeff if these trucks that they were advertising had fog lamps, he said, I am looking at them and they all have fog lamps. I asked, How many do you have left at that sales price? and he said 7 or 8. So again I go out to the store and Jeff told me he was with a customer and just give him a few minutes, I said no problem. A few minutes later, Jeff came back out and said it was taking longer than he expected, I said no problem. About 10 minutes later, Jeff came back and said, Would it be all right if I hand you off to a salesman? I said all right, so the salesman said he would go get the truck and pull it up for me. The truck that they brought out did not have fog lamps. So I asked about the advertised special with fog lamps, and the salesman said he had no idea what the advertisement had. So I went back to Jeff and asked about the fog lamps and he said, No problem, I will put fog lamps on that for you... I said, You told me that you had all kinds of trucks with fog lamps on it, and he said, I guess I was mistaken. So I asked, How many trucks do you have for the advertise special? and he said, I guess you are looking at it. Well I was again upset and told them that they were wasting my time when you tell me you a lot of trucks with the fog lamps and you had 7 or 8 vehicles that I could look at, and he said what you see is all that they have. So I walked out of the 3rd facility that sells GM vehicles. I really did not know that GM was doing that good and could afford to lose customers but seems to me that they could care less if I bought a vehicle from them or not. So I guess I will have to go to look at a competitor since GM does not know how to treat their customers.
My transmission failed in my Saturn close to 100,000 miles. I bought a remanufactured transmission from GM which cost over $5,000 dollars. Over $1,200 to install. Lasted 16 months and 9,400 miles. GM/Saturn said Im over the year so although Im so far under the mileage they said sorry cant help you. 9,400 miles for over $6,000 dollars. They are selling us defective items and stealing our money. Shame on them and I hope all future consumers boycott GM. They could care less about you and are ripping us off. No more GM products and Im spreading the word to all friends, family, and any way I can get the word out. Everyone I know cant believe how they treat people. Shame on all of you and I hope no one is stupid enough to bail you out again. You dont deserve it.
I just came from the GM dealer on University and Atlantic Boulevard in Coral Springs. I own a 2016 Chevy Suburban yes a Chevy Suburban. I was having problems with it starting I wasnt sure if it was the battery or something else. Two days in a row I called Chevy in the Winston Park area Lou back row and tried to get service from my vehicle and was told they were too busy. My daughter-in-law Christina suggested I try the GM dealer in Coral Springs which I did. They not only greeted me upon arrival with a smile but they were actually happy to see me as if I was one of their own.Long story short Mr. ** is the gentleman that helped me from beginning to end. A perfect gentleman I will say. My car needed a new battery I just wasnt sure what the problem was until they put it on the diagnostic. I cannot say anything but good about this GM dealership. Mind you I did not purchase my vehicle from them but they treated me as one of their own. They took care of my problem and again treated me as family. In the future I will definitely seek them out first not only for any problems that might arise but also to purchase a new vehicle if need be.
At 9 pm Mon July 10, talked to Kyrie about my Cadillac DTS. The keys keep getting stuck in the ignition, it is all over the internet about all Cadillac keys getting stuck. Pages of it on the net says no recall for it. CANNOT DO ANYTHING FOR YOU. This is the kind of loyalty we should be getting from GM. Got stuck in Niagara. Had to get a tow truck this am to get my battery recharged.
Tedd Britt Chevrolet (Sterling, VA) and General Motors has given me the run around. They have shown gross negligence by refusing to replace my newly purchased 2020 Silverado 1500. I have been tossed around from manager to manager, from advisor to advisor. Nobody wants to be the one caught with the customer (me) in a potential lawsuit:I have put less than 15,000 miles on the vehicle, hardly owned six months. First owner. The vehicle has been in FIVE TIMES for various electrical issues including brake system failures (x3), and most recently the vehicle shut off while I was traveling +60mph. I fear for my safety. See attached invoice photos. Their staff sees you as a number - a price tag. Their “Customer Experience Manager” did not even look at me, he talked over me, and downright refused to help me - would not even give me the customer service phone number. He said it was not his problem. Incredible. Don’t waste your time, or your safety. Buy a Ford.
I have a 2005 Grand Prix GT which has only 53,068 KM on it. I got it straight from a GM dealer and Im the only owner this car has had. Its a prime example of a LEMON if there ever was one but GM has done nothing for me since the warranty expired. On Tuesday September 2, 2014 I drove across 2 lanes of oncoming traffic when my cars engine died without warning and I lost my power steering while entering a turn in the road while driving the speed limit of 80 KM. Aside from some possible divine intervention, the only thing that saved me was the fact that all the oncoming traffic had been stopped at a red light seconds before I crossed their lanes which left enough distance for them to stop and allow me to restart my car and move it off to the side of the road. After I regained my composure I noticed the cars info unit was displaying a message stating Reduced Engine Power. It started again with no issues but the same message would come back after clearing it from the info unit. I didnt have my cell phone with me and because I wasnt too far from home when this happened I put my hazards on and I creeped the rest of the way home. On the way it died a few more times and two of those times were when trying to make right turns which resulted in my making very wide turns and again crossing into the oncoming lane. After getting home I called the dealer and spoke to my service rep so he knew what had happened. I then had it towed to the dealers where they charged me $370 for work which consisted of replacing the gas pedal sensor because they said there was a history of diagnostic codes but after clearing them they took it for a test drive and the only code that came up was for the gas pedal sensor. Because of previous issues with my car and dealing with GM I had a complimentary oil, lube and 81 point inspection which I hadnt used yet so I asked them to perform the inspection after fixing the gas pedal sensor. The inspection showed everything passed except for 2 tires which had worn tread.I paid for all the repairs the afternoon of Thursday September 4th with the intention of picking the car up later that day when the dealership would be closed. That same night my daughter drove me to go pick up my car. As soon as I started the car I knew the gas pedal felt weird and that it didnt have the same response as it had prior to the repairs. I drove it around the dealers parking lot for a bit and even got my daughter to try driving it to see if she noticed the lack of response. Because she has only ever driven smaller cars she didnt think the lack of response was an issue. Luckily my daughter had driven me there and stayed with me because the car died once again without warning while attempting to drive home. After bringing the car back to the dealership it died 3 more times while it was idling and I was filling out the envelope for the dealerships key drop off.Friday September 5th I spoke to the service rep and waited to hear back from him. Late Friday he called to say that they had not been able to reproduce the problem and there was no diagnostic codes showing up so he asked to keep the car over the weekend in order to continue checking it out the following Monday. The early morning of Monday September 8th the service rep called to say that they believed the issue is the engine computer control module and that it would be another $560 on top of the $370 I just paid a couple days earlier for the same problem. He also informed me the part would take a week to be delivered so my car is sitting in the dealers lot right now.My problem now is that after coming close to getting killed or possibly killing somebody else and then being told the car is fixed and everything passes the inspection only to find out after I drive it off the lot that the problem still exists and once again somebody could have been killed or hurt if I had not been extra careful. How can I honestly pay for the next round of repairs and then get into this car and not be afraid that it could possibly happen again because they are just guessing and if the first fix didnt work well then lets try this next!I searched online and found a number of other people who owned 2005 Grand Prix GTs who experienced the exact same problem and after numerous failed attempts to have the problem fixed and spending hundreds of dollars visit after visit the problem still existed and they were forced to sell or trade the car in for another one because the warranty had already run out on all of their cars (two people I chatted with said they sold their cars as is and then prayed for the new owners).I called GM directly, this wasnt the first time I called related to my current Grand Prix. Before I had a chance to say anything to the GM rep about what I was called for she asked for my VIN and then informed me that my car was now listed in the group of cars being recalled for the infamous GM ignition problem and she then informed me of what to expect and until I get my appointment to bring the car in to be fixed I should remove anything I have on the keyring to lessen the chance of my car turning off while driving.I then informed her that I was having a problem which resulted in the engine dying and the same loss of control as what was experienced by people who had the sad misfortune of losing their lives because they lost control of their cars because of the ignition turning the car off... However I made it very clear to her that my problem was not related to the ignition. She said she would look into it and called me back the next day to say she spoke to the service rep and everything that was done has been necessary and she is sure the car will be ok after they get the new part and have completed the work. After stressing the fact that I no longer feel safe driving that car and I would never allow my kids to drive it she basically explained that because of the year of the car and regardless of the low mileage it has been driven there is nothing really she could do except make a note of it on my file and if I ever wanted to trade it in or purchase a new car they could give me a discount but she couldnt have any way of saying how much it would be worth. Now I have a car with just over 53,000 KMs on it that I believe could kill me or somebody at any time.
Purchased my car in late 2011. Battery went bad December 2012. They replaced the battery - supposedly with a new 48-month A/C delco battery. This morning I come out to a dead battery. I called to find out if they will replace it since obviously its not even 24 months and this thing is dead. No. The manager will not honor the warranty on the battery because it was installed during my warranty under the bumper to bumper. How convenient. Upon closer inspection, the battery does not have a date, which leads me to believe that they installed either an old battery or just did not even install one at all. Manager told me that if you have a battery installed UNDER THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY, it voids the batterys warranty. Does this make sense to anyone????? Sure doesnt to me. Like I said, I have a feeling they put an old used battery in my car.
I bought a 2014 GMC truck with thirty one thousand miles and I drove it for three years to eighty four thousand miles and my family and I went for a road trip to Vegas Nevada and we were driving on a parking lot around 5 miles an hour and for no reason the motor broke down and Chevy wouldn’t honor the warranty. It cost me 10,000 dollars to get it fix at Fairway Chevrolet in Vegas and they didn’t do a good job. Now I have a check engine light on. Now a local dealer wants 1700 dollars to fix it. So I’m really mad at General Motors.
I purchased an extended warranty directly from GM, a Platinum warranty that was supposed to be bumper to bumper coverage at the cost of $3400 for my 2013 Chevy Avalanche. I did have to have 1 air shock and compressor replaced but I always replaced shocks in pairs but GM said no way. Then my dash started to crack and that was turned down as GM said this was a cosmetic item and it does NOT cover cosmetic items. Well after buying or leasing 6 vehicles from this same dealer in 6 years I sold the Avalanche and bought me a Ram pickup truck. That’s how GM treats its customers after 35 plus years of owning GM vehicles.
My recall file# is **. How many phone calls and messages must I leave with Darwin before he calls me back? He was assigned to my case and looks like he refuses to call me back. I have left messages. I have had managers in our call center leave him messages and send him emails and he does not respond. The bad customer service seems as if it has permeated to all levels of staffing. All I want is to know what the status of my reimbursement check is.I regret buying a GM product now, and probably will never buy one again because no one seems to care, even despite all the bad public GM has received over the last few months. Please wake up and see the harm that people like Darwin are doing to your company. darwins # is **. You all have no respect for peoples lives, and now it seems that you have no regard to take care issues.
I have a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado. Transmission went out 200 miles out of warranty. Never hauled or pulled anything out of the ordinary or out of what the specs allow for the truck. Obviously being a issue with transmission before the warranty was up, GM refuses any assistance at all. Said because I didnt buy it from a GM dealership, there is nothing they will do. So please be very careful buying any GM vehicle from anyone. They will not stand behind what they make, and you will be treated the same way I was.
I needed a vehicle as mine had died and I had been looking for a while not finding anything. Now that I found this 2002 Envoy, I love it! This is my first SUV and I have only had it for about a month. It rides nice. There is a lot of room in there and I like being able to sit up high. Its comfortable and the seats have lumbar support. The heat works very well and the radio sounds good too. The only thing I dont like is that it is bright red and also that the clear coat is peeling off on the front passenger side. Also the headlights are kind of cloudy.
I purchased a brand new 2021 trailblazer in September 2020. While driving home from work November 20, 2020 my breaks, power steering, and stabilitrack went out all at the same time. Mind you, I am driving on a very busy street in Indianapolis also coming up on a very busy intersection. Luckily the left turn lane had no vehicle in it, but there was a red light and I could not stop. I looked both ways and braced myself for a horrible accident. Thankfully, I was able to get my vehicle turned and into a parking lot without getting hit or hitting anyone. I had to have my vehicle towed to Hubler Chevrolet (who took very good care of me). I did not purchase my vehicle from them. When I got home and checked the mail, there was a recall letter from GM stating there has been a recall on my vehicle due to the breaking system and the parts being contaminated. Also, due to the vehicle being so new, there were no parts yet available to fix the issue. I opened a case through GM and it was a struggle from then. Over a month for them to let me know that it was not a manufactures issue, but they would fix my vehicle at no cost to me due to the recall. Fast forward two months. Mind you, I still do not have my vehicle, yet I’m still paying on it. I receive a call from Hubler that the parts came in, but they are not programming with my vehicle. Two weeks later I received another call that more parts came in and those were not programming with my vehicle. I then called GM to initiate a buy back. About two weeks later Hubler called and stated my vehicle is now fixed and I could come pick it up. I receive a call today from GM stating they refused my buy back because my vehicle is now working properly. I am livid to say the least!
Sad... to say the least... my family like many working paycheck to paycheck. I took our Truck a 2011 in for a tapping sound in engine. It was driving just fine. That made all kind of false claims. 1st aftermarket parts in engine they could not prove. 2nd they claimed that a engine treatment I had a year ago broke my piston. My Truck only way I have to get to work. They told me I needed a new engine rebuilt one for $5,000 or a new one for $12,000. They said the aftermarket parts and engine treatment I had voided the warranty. My Truck was towed from their location to a Auto Center where I had an auto expert look at my Truck. He stated they destroyed my engine. I ask him if he would sign a affidavit. He did. Stating that this dealership destroyed my engine and did other damage. I have a GM case number. My guy has all the affidavits to question anyone about this issues. I have spoken to him once in three weeks. Emailed and scanned and Faxed documents and instruments. No answer, no help... keep waiting... keep waiting... rent a car $800 a month plus keeping truck payment current is killing us. Cant last much longer. Single dad need help...
GM has a major design flaw in the 2.4 ltr engine. They have issued a TSB 14882 to extend the warranty to 10 yr 120,000 miles on a few series of motors for the stated problems. They are refusing to cover the other series of 2.4 engines that are experiencing the same issues with the explanation that they have not seen this issue in the engines not listed. But if you look on the web you will see hundreds upon hundreds of customers who are left with major engine repair bills for a known issue on the 2.4 ltr engine.
After buying my 3rd truck from GM at this point I’m potentially done with them. 2 year old Sierra needed the radiator replaced because of a faulty design which had a hole in the radiator. Dealership told me in exact words that this should not happen on a 2 year old vehicle. GM took over a week to review my case then to call me and explain that no reimbursement would happen because I didn’t leave my vehicle at the dealership until they had a answer. No coverage for the repairs would be happening. So if I had been without a vehicle for over a week waiting for GM they would just of potential offered to cover the repairs.GM customer service called me 4x during the week asking the same questions that were given to them from the initial complaint. I am not someone to expect or ask for assistance but felt it was only right after their only dealership stated this was something that should not be needing to be replaced. I’ve kept up on all maintenance and consistent service records through their dealership. I will be taking my business elsewhere as this company has gotten enough of my business buying 3 trucks over 60k each and they can’t even show any loyalty to a routine repeated customer.
I am a service manager for a large landscaping company. We have 41 one ton Chevy trucks with 6.0L motors in them. The first year I was here, we have replaced 12 manifolds, bolts and gaskets. I have contacted the dealership GM directly and have been told by them several times that GM has no intentions in fixing or refunding the money for parts, labor, etc. I have talked with several other companies that use the same trucks. They have had the same problem with the same answer. Altogether, we have over Chevy trucks from 3/4 to 1 ton trucks. All I can say is Ford will be getting our business from here on out!
This truck has been in the shop multiple times, the mirror failed and folded in while I was driving down the hi-way. They will not warranty it, the back up sensor did not work and I hit my bumper, they will not warranty it but thats how you know they are not working. You hit something as they say at the dealership. This truck is a 70,000 dollar paperweight. They do not stand behind their products at all. Its all junk. Ill definitely be buying a Ford.
I purchased a new GMC Acadia in December 2012 from Circle Buick in Highland, IN. I had to make several trips back to dealership due to problems with the vehicle and poor management of the facility. On one of the visits, they backed my new Acadia into a pole. The repair work done left me with a far from perfect new vehicle. I also now have 1000 miles on this car due to the number of trips to the dealership and the miles for the bodywork repair. I called and asked for the general manager several times (Wayne **) and was never routed to him; he was always busy. On one call after they told me he was not there, he picked up the phone and started screaming at me. This was my first conversation with him. He called me liar and promised me that his dealership would never take my car back and we would never get a new vehicle after they crashed it. He also said he personally approved the repair work to my car and it was perfect. After catching him in a lie on the phone, he admitted that he approved the repair work from a picture that was emailed to him. I tried to work through the district reps but that was ineffective because they said the dealerships were owned and operated independently. I inquired about how they advocate for the customer and ensure customer satisfaction if they have no influence. I could not get an answer from them as they did not have one. When I told them that the dealership was lying to me and to them, the district didn’t care because they were independently owned and operated. This is the worst experience of my life and I am convinced that General Motors as a whole does not care about the consumer. I have been documenting all correspondences with the dealership and district reps. I do not have enough characters here to write all of the history, but I am convinced that I should reach out to the public (newspapers, news stations, websites, etc.) and share my story. I believe that if General Motors doesn’t care for people, I should enlighten them to my purchasing experience so they are informed. On one additional note, my Acadia has also been in for service on a valve on the gas tank. I am suspicious that this is from the accident but cannot get confirmation from the service department. If General Motors (outside of the dealership or district reps) does care about protecting the customer and they are concerned about customer satisfaction, then I would love for someone to contact me. I purchased a new vehicle and I received an almost repaired vehicle with 1000 miles on it. All I ever asked for was a new vehicle like my payment to Circle Buick was for. They have received their money and I have received a crashed car, ~25 hours of lost time from phone conversations/trips, lies from the dealership and an overall disregard to customer satisfaction. I am willing to bet that all consumers would love to hear my story as it definitely highlights why General Motors products should never be purchased.
I purchased a used 2013 Buick LaCrosse. Never again will a GM product come into my house. This POS has been at the repair shop 13 times in the past year. I have contacted the dealer and GM and all I get is lip service. GM could care less about customer service and customer satisfaction. I have tried to be a reasonable person, but am beyond that now. Just know 13 is a unlucky number and if you decide to purchase a Buick keep that number in your mind. Do not purchase a GM Buick.
My wifes 2010 GMC Acadia has 60200 miles. We have had it in for the gauges not coming on right away. I still believe it is in the ignition switch. Vehicle was taken in for steering problems. Steering would lock up. Deal charged me 1400.00 to replace the power steering pump, rack and pinion, and struts. They advised GM recommends a 12 vain steering pump instead of a 6 vain pump. GM knows there is a problem with this but will not do a recall. I can believe they dont care about wives and grandchildren safety. I have owned 24 GM products since I was 16 years old. I am 60 now with three GM products including a Duramax Diesel. I dont like to buy foreign but I guess I will have to start.
I was driving on Oregon coast on a vacation. Just bought this truck with 39000 miles and all of the sudden the steering locking up and took everything I could do to turn to a safe stop. Had the vehicle repaired at a Chevrolet dealership in Newport who were great to work with. I called GM and this truck has been out of warranty for 4 thousand miles, and they only wanted to pay half, and give me credit for accessories. This could have cause me to get into a bad accident with my family in it. The steering gear failed all of a sudden with no warning. I have had paint issues with this truck and now safety problems. They will not stand up for craftsmanship of truck and is still worth around 48000 dollars. I have owned these trucks my whole life and now it will be the last.

Bought this 2014 Malibu. So far, it stinks. Gas gauge dont work right. Not dealers fault. Been back two times, cant find nothing wrong. Gauge is a piece of ** and it already lost 16,000 trade value. Has anyone else had problem with gas gauge?
I have seriously dangerous electrical issues since I purchased this 2018 Equinox. GM claim they dont have a fix for the electrical issues. When I lift my foot off brake several sensors come on as well as door locks unlock and relock. The vehicle jerk forward or rolls backwards when foot is removed from brake. I have no choice but drive it as it is my only source of transportation. Lemon law attorneys are only concerned about getting their fee and GM offer to buy back with drastic deductions for depreciation for a few thousand dollars when my car loan was 25,000 plus thousands still owed. I would review with half star or less.
I experienced the worst treatment and dishonesty at Young Buick GMC in Layton Utah. The utmost worst car buying experience I have ever had. I lodged a complaint with GM and they were wonderful with the initial complaint and then it fell apart after that. I did not receive a response first of all I had to keep inquiring on the matter. The case manager never followed up with me at all until I had to keep calling. I was then sent a generic email and cell phone message telling me that too bad so sad the dealer Young Buick GMC is an independent dealer and they cannot do anything regarding the matter.Well let me tell you what the matter was. I initially went to the dealer with the price listed on the internet for the vehicle I wanted. I was trying to trade in my vehicle that had less that 16k miles on it and I was low balled when they were selling the same car next door at their other dealership for thousands more. I tried to get some more so I could work the deal the sales lady didnt do anything. I was in desperate need of an AWD vehicle. After trying to get into the vehicle we went to signing papers. I was told the price listed online was not the price for me, that is the price that it could be. They lied to me about the warranty (which I didnt know until I did my own research) so I would buy the additional warranty and then I was told I needed another product because if my car was stolen the parts are not covered.I was in desperate need of an AWD so went ahead with deal like a idiot. They let me take the car when I told them I didnt think the deal was going to work out. I was very upside down on my trade. They assured me it was fine. My credit union received the papers and told me how awful the deal was and they wouldnt knowingly approve it. They showed me some figures and I went back to the dealer. I expressed my concerns and telling them about the lies they had told me about the warranty, the price, parts, and basically everything. The finance manager said hmmm. Then he told me they were losing money by even looking at taking my car as a trade. It is a 30k vehicle mind you.I demanded my vehicle back and left. GM had no response for someone representing the GM name! SHAME ON YOU GM!!! I will make it my lifes mission that no one I know ever buys a GM. We also have a book at my employer who is one of the largest employers in Utah. The book is called The Best and Worst of Utah and you are going in it! Very disappointed especially after my tax dollars bailed you out! This is how you treat customers! I am not some low life off the street.
My wife and I own three GM vehicles. A 2005 Cadillac CTS, 2006 Chevy Trailblazer EXT and a 1999 Chevy Corvette. Both my wife and I grew up GM fans. We have always driven GM, but no more. We do understand that we have older vehicles, but with how well we take care and maintain our vehicles they should drive like new. The Cadillac has 120,000 miles, the Trailblazer has 90,000 and the Corvette has 120,000. All three have the typical GM electrical bugs. The Cadillac leaked water from a rain storm into the rear seat and floor (where electrical wiring is stored) flooded it and fried wiring. This is a well known common problem and GM will do nothing. Drain tubes get clogged in the headliner (horrible design). It had the common timing chain and oil consumption problems. The Trailblazer has HVAC issues and many other electrical problems. The Corvette has had the transmission replaced twice and has a lot of electrical problems. The money we pay for the cars and then have to repair weekly is ridiculous. I am no longer a GM fan and will be looking for a better company to buy future vehicles from.
General Motors is the biggest pile of crap around. The 5 star Chevrolet dealership AutoNation Arrowhead totally screwed up my car after a routine oil change back on Dec 23 2017 and they ended up blowing out my engine so they ended up replacing the engine starter cooling fan along with the battery and at that point I told GM that I should rather have them replace my vehicle because it only had 16000 miles and all they wanted to do since it was under warranty but I didnt want that because then Id take a huge loss when I go trade it in or go sell it so then I got an attorney involved back on March 2018 and they still havent taken care of anything to this point. I even emailed Yvette Ibarra who is the CEO of GM and she didnt do a thing either so goes show you why then clowns went filed for government assistance. Thats because they arent worth a crap. They can all rot in hell as far as Im concerned. I have no sympathy for them clowns so whatever you do dont buy a GM vehicle because the moment you have a problem like I did they will blow you off 100%.
I crashed my 98 GMC Safari van into my garage when the ABS came on at a low speed. I replaced the sensors. Now it works but has a damaged bumper, and I have a damaged garage! I also have a 2000 Chevy Astro van that is now doing the same thing!
My 2021 GM Yukon Denali had about 2-3 months and less than 2000 miles when I first tried to use the rear seat entertainment. It didn’t work. Took to service dept. They only connect headset but screens didn’t work. Took it back, found it had electrical problems. They kept my vehicle for almost 30 days. The part was not available due to it being brand new. Finally after almost 30 days they got part but another electrical part went out. They had to order that too. Meantime I’m working with GM to get my $1200 car payment reimbursed. It’s a very expensive and brand new vehicle so I expect it to work correctly. I’m not able to drive it so why am I paying for it. They agreed to reimburse me. Lady I was working with no longer works there. New Person taking over case says they can’t and won’t reimburse me. They went back on their word. I will never buy GM again. Brand new vehicles should be inspected to make sure all parts are working correctly. This experience has been nothing but headaches for me and my family.
I bought my new (GMC Terrain 2012) 2 weeks back. I found a noise coming up from the steering when you turn left or right at parking position. Im asking, is this normal or need for checkup. Please advise.
Purchased new 2017 Chevy Volt with 24 miles on it 5/25/16. Drove from dealer 4 miles to home and into garage. Plug car in and did not use for 3 days. Returned to car and it was DEAD. Had towed to dealer and learned bad battery which was replaced and informed all was good. Drove two days while overnight charging. Then it sat for 4 days, no drive and plugged in. Car battery died again and is being towed to dealer a second time (100 miles & less than 15 days since taking delivery). Not pleased at all.
I purchased a 2018 GMC Terrain Denali in April of 2018. I have gone past the warranty period and I have noticed the paint has been coming off the rocker on both sides of the vehicle and now rusting. I contacted GM Canada customer service and after waiting almost 5 weeks for a answer if they would do anything the robot who called me said since its out of warranty and theres no recalls on the paint theres nothing they will do. They are saying its from my shoes. I wear running shoes all the time I have had a lot of gm cars and so has my son with a lot more mileage and never had this happen. I guess this shows me that gm doesnt care about its customers. My next purchase will definitely not be a gm product.
I have a 2005 Pontiac g6 and I received a letter saying my car was on recall for the power steering, which I was glad to find that out cause my steering has been messed up since I got the car. But heres my problem: sometimes my power steering light will come on across my dash and sometimes it dont and whats wrong is I lose complete steering and it jerks really bad, and I dont have no control over it. When I drive down the highway and it does it, Im lucky that Im able to pull over. When I called gmc and told them the problem they said that has nothing to do with my power steering recall, has to be something else. All I would like is answer or something. Im risking not only my life but my sons life driving this car the way it is. It also will shut off on me when the steering goes out and then dont wanna start back up. My headlights will fade and flash too.
My boyfriend and I drove over 2 hours to a dealership that had the 2016 GM Canyon Diesel in stock. Purchased the vehicle and everything was great. That was on a Tuesday. With less than 500 miles on the truck and being 5 hours away from home on Friday (3 days later), the truck wouldnt start. Completely disabled. GM had the truck towed to the closest dealership to evaluate and repair. That was Friday, February 26, 2016. Today is Tuesday, March 8, 2016 and we are NO closer to having our truck repaired or replaced. Have made dozens of calls to the dealership that is supposed to be fixing the truck, to the dealership that sold us the truck, and finally to GM company. Everyone is very sympathetic and agrees this is terrible but do nothing! We requested a new truck. No, have to go through the warranty channels. We have this truck 3 Days! It died with less than 500 miles on it. They have had the truck now for 12 days. No answers on when the truck will be fixed. The dealership with the truck doesnt sound like they know how to fix it. GM gives a different answer each time we call and get a different person. Asked for higher up, get nowhere. Worse customer service ever!!
After 83,000 miles on my Hummer 3 the head went out. The head has the same issue I was told by the dealer that the recalled 5 cylinder canyon head was having when GM recalled it. The cost for repair was $2705. GM made me believe that they would help me out but after the bill was paid 3 days later I received a phone call informing me that they would not help in this matter. At the GM dealer they did say that a head should not go bad after 83,0000 and thought the main office would do something. Just goes to show you why I will never buy GM the rest of my life and will make sure as many people as I know will know of this issue.
I bought the car used with only 7000 miles on it in May of 2010. This car is a 2010 Chevrolet HHR. This car has been a NIGHTMARE to own. It has been the most expensive car to date that I have ever had to repair. Right out of the gate, the car had turn signal issues where it would not shut off. They repaired. Then it was the front wheel bearings which ironically they do not consider to be part of the Drive Train Warranty so I replaced both of these out of pocket. The car immediately afterwards required 2 new rear shocks at 40 thousand miles and then the front struts replaced again out of pocket at 45 thousand.Front discs needed replaced because they put in soft metal for the brake discs. Driving down the road, the car was fine, get to a red light and the car start sputtering and jumping and acting like it was going to die. Take it in and the dealership tells me that the codes state that they have to replace all the cam shaft sensors in the car since they have no way to diagnose which one is going bad and it was going to cost me 600 to do the work with 4 hours labor. Went online and lo and behold there is a video on just this issue and how to fix it. I bought the parts for $152.00 and 20 minutes under the hood closed it and started my car, Voila fixed. Why was it 600 dollars to fix with 4 hours labor when a peon like me can do it in 20 minutes. I can tell you why GM has to pay for the RECALLS somehow. I then one day went out to my car started it up and heard a loud bang and then the front end started jumping up and down. The cooling fan came on when I turned on the AC and broke a blade off. Again the dealership wanted almost 500.00 dollars to replace. Went to the trusted internet and there is the repair on video. Bought the cooling fan for 70 bucks and 1 hour of my time later, I had the old one out and new one in. The power window switches have gone out. The speakers on the radio come in and out whenever they want to work. Next thing that went out on, the car the Fuel Lines. Drove home and smelled gas, kept smelling it off and on for several weeks before it finally became evident that it was happening as it was running down my carport and eating the paint off the drive. I told the dealership and guess what? DING DING DING, 780 dollars to repair, not trusting myself with this repair. I contacted my mechanic that quoted me 360 dollars to fix and told me yep, just had another one of those cars in here for the same thing with the same car. He stated that Chevrolet is aware of this and has put out a bulletin on it. Really, you have these cars going down the road as a potential fireball and all you do is put out a bulletin. Just got the car back from GM last night with a repair bill of 1,707 dollars. The car on Saturday 12/12/15 started off with the ESC (Electronic Stability Control) light went off and the front end started groaning and vibrating, I got the car off the highway and shut it off, waited about 15 minutes and started it back up. No Light on so I decided I need to turn around and go home. The check engine light came on and the car lost power and at 60 going down the highway, was running at 5 thousand RPM.I finally limped into the driveway and do research and there are THOUSANDS of these complaints. I take it to GM Dealership with the codes that it was throwing. They call me later that day. The transmission solenoids had gone out and that the wiring harness inside the transmission had start a small leak inside it which most likely was the reason it shorted out the solenoids again. This took them dropping the transmission out of the car and replacing all this. Disgusting, absolutely disgusting the way GM is, they do not care about you or that car you bought. You are a sucker when you buy their product. Now we have not even touched the recalls. This car has gone through 3 ignition switches and a Power Steering motor and an Air Bag recall (not Takata related) they just exploded on their own.I have filed complaint after complaint after complaint to GM to only have them ignored for 2 years. What got them jumping was a complaint to The Better Business Bureau. I spoke to Mary at GM Disputes and took them 4 days to decide that they wanted to give me $1,500 dollar Gift Cert for a New GM Car she called it a Customer Loyalty Certificate. Told her that was very unacceptable that there was no Customer Loyalty when GM Shows no loyalty to their customers. I will see what I can do by contacting a lawyer. This car is the WORST thing to come from Detroit and that is to include the Studabaker because Im sure as ** would take a Studebaker over this car.
2010 Buick LaCrosse had 94000 but was seven months pass warranty (5) years. November 17, the engine blew. Returned it to my dealership, no help. Text GM on the internet twice no response. 7200 dollar bill to replace the engine. Car had been well maintained. Why did I buy an American made car.
We just bought a 5 year old Terrain last month and so far we love it. We chose it based on mileage and condition. Its in great shape, has low mileage and is very clean and runs well. I have not owned a GMC before now but I am pretty impressed so far. We like the backup camera, ability to connect to our phone, CD player. I like the height and style of the SUV. I love the heated bucket seats and the roomy hatch area. There is plenty of leg room which my husband and son appreciate. The seats are nice and comfortable too. But I have trouble using the cruise control. Its awkward to use safely. I have to take my eyes off the road to see what Im doing which is certainly not safe. I also do not like the button on the hatch door instead of a handle. Im worried that it will malfunction quickly and be a pain to use afterwards.
I purchased a used 2014 Chevy Captiva Sportage with about 37,000 miles less than 1 year ago. Paid 20K cash and now I regret it since it looks like I was sold a lemon. A month ago the key started sticking in the ACC position when attempting to shut the car off after driving. It would require constant shutting on and off of car or sitting it out in car for 1 or more hour praying that the key would turn to the off position in the ignition and not get stuck in the ACC position, which drains the battery. This continued during the WORST of times, at medical appointments, arriving home at night, dining out and July 4th weekend. With the key in the ignition, it meant car door could not be locked, could not get keys to go into my house or to the doctors office, etc. We lost our hotel reservations and money since the battery died after the key was stuck in the ignition for hours over the Independence Day weekend and the dealerships were close. After spending more than a week in the dealership and them troubleshooting the issue - with the keys sticking in the ignition some days and with it coming out some days, with difficulty, the dealership diagnosed the issues with the lock cylinder being damaged and requiring replacement to a tune of nearly $400. GM and dealership basically said, Tough luck - youre not covered by warranty.
Where do I begin? GM Canada is a joke. I bought a 2019 GMC elevation blacked out edition in summer of 2019 and the first 500 km the tailgate started falling on me for no reason so I went to Prouse Motors in Sault Ontario to get warranty for the tailgate. They got ahold of gm Canada and they told them they will not fix the tailgate BC there was no known issues with them yet (forgot to mention I had my utility trailer on the back and the jack stand scratched and dented the ** outta the tailgate) so basically they said I was ** and the only way I would get a new tailgate is if it drops when someone from prouse motors was driving it. What a joke right? So after 4 times they had my truck it finally dropped. Took close to 5 months to get a new tailgate after that and Ive been back 3 times because of the paint job on it and tailgate being loose. While all that crap was going on I started to have transmission problems and its been to the dealer many many times and still to this very day its still not fixed. Then at 4000 km the steering column locked up on me and they had to put a new column in and the speakers on the passenger side of the truck went all ** on me. Ive either called or been to the dealership every week since I own this truck this truck has been nothing but a nightmare. I tried to plead my case and to get gm to buy the truck off me and put me in something else BC the truck is a LEMON. The only thing they would do is give me 2000$ towards a trade in so they expect me to lose my ** on the trade in and Pay more monthly for a plain Jane p.o.s I never in my life had such piss poor service than gm and the dealer. I will NEVER in my lifetime own another gm product. I will go buy a Ford or a Dodge before Ill even think about gm piss poor trucks... Before you buy a truck from gm I recommend take the time and read all the review. The only review I noticed that have 5 stars is the people who only owned the truck for couple weeks to a month. Steer away from GMC or Chevy. Dont make the same mistake I did. One pissed off GMC truck owner
Bulletin 14116 covers model year 2004-2006 Chevrolet Malibu and Malibu Maxx, Dealer replace the torque sensor assembly and EPS motor controller unit on February 23rd of 2015, On November 7 of 2017 the steering failed, Took to a GM Dealer, Replaced the same parts under recall at my expense. When I contacted GM customer service the response was that warranty is only for 12 months on recall replacement parts. I just would like to communicate that even if the vehicle was serviced under the recall the problem may still exist, In the affected vehicles, there may be a sudden loss of electric power steering (EPS) assist that could occur at any time while driving. Should that occur, greater driver effort would be required to steer the vehicle at low speeds, increasing the risk of a crash.
I am the sorry owner of a Chevy Impala. I have been a GM customer for over 20 years. I have always tried to support American made cars. My experience with this Impala has been a nightmare. I have taken it to the dealer several times and have gotten treated very poorly. The rear defrost just quit working. Tire system failed, now I am waiting to be seen for the recall and need to have someone check out why my car gives me the message engine power reduced. Once I have these things done, I will be returning this car and I will never purchase an automobile from GM or any of its affiliates. I am so disgusted with this car. I depend on this car (I cant call it an automobile or vehicle) to take my child back and forth and I need to get to work. I cannot afford to jeopardize her safety. I will never recommend GM to anyone.
I purchased a 2006 Impala with 160,000 miles in 2011. Recently, I have been getting a Service Traction Control on my dash, as well as a Reduced Speed/Low Oil pressure message. When this happens, my car will not increase speed and it has little to no power at all. When this happened the first time, I drove directly to Bale Chevrolet here in Little Rock, Arkansas. I left my vehicle and warranty information with the service department. I received a call a day later telling me it isnt covered under warranty and isnt a recall issue. Mind you, I have read hundreds of post with Impala drivers saying the exact same thing; just something out of the blue happened on their car. The representative told me my car would cost over $400.00. I agreed to pay it. At that time, I felt good about Bale Chevrolet being able to fix the issue. Why not? I bought a 20003 Impala from them in 2004. I went and paid for it. Mind you that this was on 4/25/13; I am writing this on 5/16/13. So, I get in my car on lunch yesterday and my check engine light is on. Then later, when I had got off the Service Traction Control light error, the Low Oil pressure lights are right back on; and my car is doing the exact same thing it had done in April before it had been alleged to have been repaired. When this happened again this morning, my child was riding with me. I made a left turn and was almost side swiped because my car wouldnt accelerate at all. I called the Service Department at Bale and was told they will look at it and it may be a multiple issue problem. I had my car fully diagnosed back in April, so if it was a multiple issues thing, those multiple issues shouldve been addressed before allowing me to leave with a patched up car. He also told me I would be responsible for any new parts pertaining to the Service Traction/Low Oil Pressure issues. Also, I was told that I will have to wait until Monday before anybody can look at the car. Ive already paid for the repairs which werent done properly and now I have to wait 2 days before it can even be looked at. It is sad (me and my family are long time Chevy buyers) to be treated like this at a lot where Ive bought more than one car; to be told get in line and wait after my car when it wasnt fixed properly the first time. I am 100% sure that I, nor my immediate family, will ever purchase another Chevy car or truck as long as I live. This is from a company that my tax dollars helped to bail out. I still purchased from them to now be treated like a number. I almost had my car totaled out because of issues that should be a recall in the first place. Second, I paid to have it fixed. I know this email won’t be responded to, but I hope others will read and strongly consider not purchasing a GM vehicle at all. I will be trading my poor Impala for a Honda as soon as I have money to pay Bale Chevrolet a second time to fix what shouldve been fixed in April. Google Bale and you will see all the complaints about them having to fix the same problems two to three times, with the customer ending up paying more and more just to get something that shouldve been correctly diagnosed and fixed the first time.
I am having transmission acceleration problems that no mechanics or machine can diagnose. They can tell by driving the car, but cant come with a solution. Just keep telling that I have to wait for the check engine to come. But that could be too late and costly. The thought of waiting to be stranded on the highway is scary. I dont know what to do or trust at this point.
Takata admitted there was a passenger side airbag defect a decade past. I owned a 2008 Silverado with that airbag installed. GM continually said my vehicle was not due for a replacement for years. Today I got a notice that my Silverado WAS involved in GM Recall N212328760... the same recall they told me for years did not involve my vehicle. I sold that vehicle three months ago and just got the notice from GM... today. From the language in todays letter it becomes obvious to me that they were just fine with allowing me to drive a dangerous vehicle after telling me it wasnt dangerous. There seems to hint that something illegal has happened here wherein GM knowingly put the owners of these vehicles in mortal danger.
From the day we took delivery of this new Hummer H2, it has been nothing short of a nightmare of repairs. The roof seam leaked from day 1 and it took at least a dozen trips to the dealer to fix. The check engine light was next and 2 trips to the dealer fixed that, a new fuel filler neck assembly. Next the speedometer quit working and we had to drive the truck for a year with no idea what the speed was before the parts were available at the dealer to fix. At the same time, the ignition switch failed and was replaced with 1 trip to the dealer. After that the climate control system quit working correctly, blows heat out of one side and A/C out of the other when in the A/C mode. A part called an actuator fixed the passenger side but now the drivers side is blowing heat out like the passenger side. The climate control system has never worked right and never will. Theres nothing like a family summer vacation with the heat on in a $52,000 truck. We have had to just roll the windows down and suck it up until you get home. I have lost tens of thousands of dollars in lost work time taking this truck to be repaired. Would I buy another GM product? I would not take it if you gave it to me. I cant afford the time off work or the repair bills. This truck is a 2004 with 54,000 miles on it and is garage kept, never been off road. It still has the original tires on it and they are only about 70% worn. The customer service dept stated that GM would buy the truck back during the dozen roof repair attempts, but the amount they wanted to give us back should have been a criminal offense after what we paid for this truck.
15,000 miles on new 2021 Silverado 5.3 liter engine and my truck started hesitating and all sorts of lights and check engine….. turns out cracked head and busted lifters. Known problem with these engines and double whammy during tornado and hail storm on the way I could not get home to my garage due to stalled truck and got hail damage with $1,000 deductible. This should not have happened as my truck would have been home in the garage. GM needs to recall these engines or offer new ones.
Bought a 2018 Chevy Sonic in late August with only 220 miles. Several week ago went to get in my car and my car would not start. Called GM and they said since my car is new with only 5,000 miles everything will be covered under warranty and they will tow it to the nearest Chevy dealer. Had to call the dealer several times to see what the issue was and this went on for days. Finally get an answer back and they said that I will not be covered for a rental car or for the service because they claimed they found a high level of ethanol in my tank and it’s going to be $500 out of pocket for all these cleanings they need to do. I got completely ripped off. Ended up paying a total of $468 for “cleanings” plus the cost of my rental I had to get for several days. GM handled my complaint poorly and has taken weeks to get back to me and said they will not offer reimbursement because it was my fault I had ethanol in my tank and I can only use unleaded fuel. So I told them that I have only used unleaded fuel and the owner manual only states you can not use E85 of flex fuel which is common sense. So after all these weeks they refuse to help and shut me up by throwing me a $100 service certificate that I can only use all at once. So I’m out several hundred dollars on a brand new car. On top of that my fuel economy in my car is so poor now that I got it back from the dealer and I never had this issue prior to taking it in for service. Now I’m stuck with a Brand new car that they messed up. Never buy Gm cars again and they could care less about their customers.
GMC service reps informed us that the GMC 3500 trucks can sometimes have major problems with fuel system. Causing metal particles to travel throughout the engine and other parts. Had to leave my car truck for 20 days at Georges Chevrolet to be repaired. Not only did they not repair my truck properly the 1st time but the only loaner they could give me was a Chevrolet 1500 Silverado that not only leaked oil but didnt have the horsepower that I needed to pull my trailer. Im a landscaper and Im self-employed and need all my equipment for work, i.e. my GMC 3500 to pull trailer. I incurred loss of wages/revenue due to leaks from loaner truck and unable to pull equipment. GMC stepped in and assured me after several telephone calls later that I would be compensated for my loss of revenue and as a dissatisfied experience at Georges Chevrolet. Again after several other calls we finally agreed on compensation and that was basically an extended warranty. After several months later we still havent received extended warranty that was promised by Gilbert, GMC customer assistance. Gilbert called me several times to follow up and assure me it was approved and I would be able to take truck anywhere to get serviced in 2 days, 2 times this month. I received an email stating that I would have to wait another week. I took the day off of work to get my truck serviced and I am unable to do that now until I actually get documentation stating I can do so. When I called Gilbert at GMC asking him why he misled me he simply said I was wrong and there is nothing I can do about it. In other words OH WELL. I now need to wait for my documents to get my WORK TRUCK serviced and hope it doesnt break down or cause any further damages to my engine. This has been a nightmare. Not only has it hurt my wallet but my reputation as a dependable landscaper to my clients. As a self-employed landscaper my dependability is everything to stayed employed and get new clients/references. This has really cost me more than they can ever comprehend. As a long time and loyal customer to GMC I am very dissatisfied to say the least and will never recommend this company again. As soon as I can afford to get a new truck I will definitely not get another GMC. I know now that they are not dependable/reliable vehicles nor do they care about their consumers.
Service center completely scammed me. If I could give it a zero I would. Took my car in a year ago because it was stalling. They said they fixed it for $400 which some was covered under warranty. They replaced timing chain and gaskets. Still stalling so recently I had aftermarket solenoids put in. It was still stalling and check engine light came. Took it to Gordon’s and John ** told me it would be $542 and that’s it’s because I had aftermarket solenoids. I was hesitant, but he convinced me it would be running good after. Next day he calls me and tells me it will be over $1400. But at this point they already changed the solenoids and that didn’t work. They misdiagnosed the problem. I tell them forget it and pick up my car. On the work order for the 1400 they have timing chain, gaskets and actuator. The same things they supposedly fixed a year ago. They still charged me $500 for the solenoids. Paid $500 for absolutely nothing and check engine lights still on. Nothing fixed for $500. I will be putting in a complaint through the state of Michigan. We actually have also talked to our cousin who is a lawyer. I feel like they took advantage of me because I am a woman. Also when I questioned him he hung up on me!
I have been complaining about the same concerns to GMC customer assistance for months. I am not getting any assistance from the dealer and a customer “senior” case manager seems to forget our conversations EVERY TIME! I have been being pulled along for a ride regarding how important my business is and that they will have a resolution to either trade me out of my car with assistance or buy this lemon back. It is appalling how I am being treated right now after being patient for months and months and trying to work with a brand that I have been very loyal to, to receive zero action and all talk. I will be trading in my vehicle and leaving the brand after spending over 75k on a Denali and 60k on a Suburban brand new off the lot from a GMC dealer. All over poor customer service.
I had been driving GM all my life and I love it. But on the past years it have become an experience brand to buy and keep when others brand have gained reputations on durability, longer warranty and lower cost in general.
I purchased a 2013 GMC Sierra new and always had the truck serviced at the selling dealer. Last Oct. my drivers side door handle came off in my hand. This has never happened to me with any vehicle I ever owned, and I have owned many. Colonial GMC in Charlottesville, Va. was my selling dealer so I went there and requested it be replaced under the extended warranty that I purchased good for 100,000 miles. Was told it wasnt covered under that warranty and had to pay to have it replaced. Bill was in excess of $300. Ok, paid and moved on.4 months later another door handle broke off on the rear door and was even being used much. Thinking this was an unusual I researched this problem and to my surprise realized these door handles have been breaking on Silverados and Sierras routinely, but to date GM has not had a recall or a TSP for this problem. Contacted GM and they told me I would receive a callback to resolve the issue. 3 days later I got a call from the dealer telling me I was out of luck, they would not do anything unless I paid the full price. Ok, I thought, I paid $63000 for a truck and they wont help with a door handle. I bought and $40 to install it. Bottom line is I will go back to buying a Ford or Dodge, had good service from them. Done with GM for a $17 door handle.
lb7 duramax injectors failed again - Nice person took my call, talked about problem. Warranty was to fix injector issue in 2009, gm was in financial crisis. No help for 1595.00 repair. Just finished repair on May/29/14 for 3800.00. Cassandra the gm. ambassador will not respond to phone messages, more than 4, emails at least 3, over the last two weeks. It seems strange they are so helpful on the first call then have no time to call or respond.
The following is a list or reasons why I feel General Motors needs to bear the expense incurred in this situation, the failure of the turbocharger cooling tube. 1. The part which failed was not available at the Flagstaff dealership and was only available from the parts warehouse in Reno Nevada. 2. We offered several times to pay the expense to expedited the shipping of the part to the Flagstaff dealership from the GM parts warehouse in Reno by air, FedEx, Purolator or DHL. The Flagstaff dealer and GM turned us down both times. 3. GM’s inability to track the part from the GM parts warehouse in Reno and were not able to give us a clear delivery date. The part did not arrive until 13 days after it was ordered. Had we known the part would be in Flagstaff on a specific date we would have stayed in Flagstaff until the part arrived and the truck was fixed. As it was the dealership could not tell us when it would be there.4. This vehicle is under full warranty and only has 13890 kms. Here is a summary of events leading up to these excessive expenses. On March 17 this year, my wife and I were driving home back to Canada from Phoenix, Arizona. We were 20 miles south of Page, Arizona when the charger cooler tube on the turbo unit failed. We called AAA and had the truck and our trailer towed back to the nearest GM dealership, which was in Flagstaff. We met with the Service Advisor the next day, Wednesday March 18, and by 11 am the part was found at the GM parts depot in Reno Nevada and would be at the Flagstaff dealership 6 days later on Monday March 23. Because we were concerned the Canada/US border was closing, and with the excessive amount of time it was going to take to ship the part to the dealer, we offered several times to pay for the expense to expedited the shipping of the part to the Flagstaff dealership from the GM parts warehouse in Reno by air, FedEx, Purolator or DHL. The Flagstaff dealer and GM turned us down both times. Please note Reno is just over 700 miles (1132 kms) from Flagstaff. The parts did not arrive on Monday March 23. We met again with the Service Manager on Monday but were told the parts had not arrived and would arrive Wednesday March 25. Wednesday March 25 the parts did not arrive. The Flagstaff dealership said the parts were somewhere between Reno and Flagstaff and that GM did not have the ability to track any parts. They said the parts may arrive Monday March 30. At this point we decided to rent a truck ($2000 US) and tow our trailer back to Canada. Again both the US and Canadian Governments were threatening to close the borders. We left Thursday morning March 26 after stopping by the dealership one last time to see if the parts had arrived. The part still had not arrived. The parts finally arrived Monday March 30, 13 days after the parts were ordered and the truck repaired Tuesday March 31. Because the border between Canada and US now remains closed, the only way I could get the truck back was to have it shipped back into Canada is by a commercial transport company. The Flagstaff dealership said GM might offer to pay for the transport of the truck between Flagstaff and Great Falls Montana. I offered to pay for the remaining transport between Great Falls and Calgary. Again GM declined. Also why is it that only Cadillacs quality for a free 800 mile/km tow while other GM vehicles don’t? My total bill to transport the truck from the Flagstaff dealership to Lethbridge Canada was $1350 US, ($1995 Can). Cole International’s charges for inter-border documents was $150 Can. So I have spent over $5000 Canadian on a part that maybe worth $100 all because GM didn’t have the required part at the dealership, could not track the part from their warehouse in Reno and give us a clear delivery date, and would not let us pay to have the part fast-tracked from the warehouse in Reno to the dealership in Flagstaff. I finally picked up my truck today May 11, 2020 from the Davis GMC dealership in Lethbridge. I haven’t heard back from GM Customer Service Canada since I sent in all of my expenses at the end of May and I don’t expect to hear back from them.
I have big paint blotches missing from the back of my black 2014 Equinox. I was mistreated by GM even though it is a clear problem with the quality control of their vehicles and it should be a recall. I am within warranty kms and only 4 months out of the stupid 3 year warranty period. I will never stop dissing this company for the poor customer care and the uncaring way they produce and back up their product. I will never buy GM again... 3 year old vehicle with big paint rust spots is not ok with me.
Updated on 02/01/2020: I didnt get the car back until Dec due to the strike. I filed a claim with GM and requested either a new car or reimbursement. They refused to give me a new car and agreed to the reimbursement. They are only willing to reimburse me 2 car payments but had my car for a total of 3 months. Ive had to provide statements from my finance company and personal bank statements to show proof that I made those car payments just so they can reimburse me. Talk about feeling like a valued customer! Me paying my car note has nothing to do with me being inconvenienced over a product that I bought from YOU! They are telling me the dealership has to process my reimbursement because it will move a lot faster, however I got my car back mid December, it is almost February and I am still dealing with this and havent received anything! I am very dissatisfied with GMs customer service and the way they treat their customers! I will never purchase another GM car and I definitely wont be referring any one to either! I have a cousin who experienced some of the same issues with Dodge and her experience was smooth sailing! Original Review: I purchased a 2019 Chevy Camaro in June 2019 due to a car accident and my previous car being totaled which was a Dodge (Challenger). I had the Camaro for 90 days then had to put it in the shop due to safety issues! Passenger Airbag broken! This is a brand new car in which I should not be experiencing these type of problems. My car has been in the shop for almost 2 months now due to GM being on strike and the part to fix my car has not been available and no one can tell me when. I was told GM would not give me a new car but would compensate me once the problem is fixed! **! Im having to pay a car note for a BRAND NEW CAR that I cant even enjoy! VERY UPSETTING! Im totally dissatisfied with GM and I wish I never purchased this car! Shouldve just stuck with DODGE!
My dashboard is caving in. I contacted GM. They asked me to take it to a dealer, which I did. Now, they are telling me that this is due to the age of my vehicle. I have owned plenty of vehicles and never have I experienced my dashboard to cave in. My vehicle has 120,000 miles. They are telling me it is no longer covered. My vehicle is a 2007. Ive owned vehicles with 200,000 miles and Ive never had my dashboard cave in. This is a safety concern. The airbag cover is popped out. And there are two cracks around the airbag. I dont feel safe to have people in the passenger seat of my vehicle. The door handles are also chipped, and have cut myself and passengers in my vehicle. Because of provisions in the special campaign, they are refusing to correct the problem. GM didnt have a problem financing me for 7 years, or taking my $30,000 plus when I purchased my vehicle. But now, they are refusing to fix their faulty product.
I am writing to complain about Ed Morse Buick GMC Mazda Autoplaza 10133 US Highway 19 Port Richey, FL 34668 727-862-5411. My 81-year-old mother purchased her Buick from the dealership and returned for just motor oil and a cabin filter service at 34k miles and was sold more service than the automobile needed completed. The total bill should have come to $107.95 but she was sold and charged $657.06 for work that was not required. My mother trusted the service adviser and was misled the car needed service performed that would not be required until 150k miles based on GM standards. I feel Ed Morses service adviser took advantage of an elderly customer that relied on a trusted source for car service similar to relying on a financial adviser for advice. The company policy seems to be to recommend service to unaware elderly people concerned for their cars care and then not to offer customer coupons on their website for a savings. The 2012 Buick is new with only 34,387 miles and the service attendant sold automatic transmission fluid replacement, brake fluid replacement, induction service repair work and tire rotation on 3/31/2016 that when only an oil change was needed. The service attendant did not offer the customer coupons for free tire rotation with purchase of oil, $10 off cabin filter or the spend and save offer for the service performed for $75.Since I help manage my mother with her monthly bills and when I learned of a motor oil and filter charge of $657.06 I was beside myself and went to confront the Service Manager for taking advantage of an elderly lady just needing an oil and filter change. We discussed that the replacement of automatic transmission fluid, brake fluid and induction service was not required and my mom was misled into purchasing these services for a 34k mile car. The service manager affirmed she would be refunded with a check of $189.86 plus a free oil change. My expectation was to be credited $486.76 for work not required for misleading an elderly lady on service. At this time we have not received credit to resolve this issue and expect $486.76.
GMC Terrain is cheaply made. The passenger door rubber came off and the Motor Company claimed I pulled it off. Wrong. Also the Modules on the Tires is going out and it only has 50,000 miles on it. The center module keeps saying that there is a low tire. They cost $125.00 each plus installation.
My 2013 GMC Terrain has turned into the worst investment I have ever made. The abs light keeps coming on along with the stabilitrak light. When this happens the abs activates and the car doesnt stop well. Also this error code shuts off the all wheel drive. This is a major safety issue and when I brought it to the dealer they said its a bearing and the hub needs to be replaced at my cost. So when I called gm I spoke to senior service advisor who assured me they would contact the dealer and assist me with the cost. After some 30 phone calls Mary sr#** never returned my call nor did she contact the dealer. So I called and spoke to someone else who told me that gmc was not going to help me and that I could not escalate the problem any further. I drive my kids around in this car and due to the safety issue I have no choice but to get the repair completed at more than $400 cost. I think the service is the worst part of the whole thing. I will be sure to tell everyone I know not to buy from gm, they do not care about their customers at all. My next car will be a Honda.
Imagine having a new car for two years and the clear starts lifting. My car is full of blotches of clear coat lifting. I am still in warranty and GM denies my claim. I wish I can post pics. I took my vehicle to Yeo body shops and was told to take it back to dealer due to clear coat lifting and leak in rearview window. It is so obvious that my paint job was botched and they blame it on the environment. I will never purchase a GM vehicle ever. There are several videos on their clear coat problems on the internet and they fail to take responsibility for their clear coat problem vehicles. They would rather sale it to the consumer and wash their hands concerning the problem. I will not stop posting until I get my vehicle on TV. It is a clear mess.
I bought a new 2020 3500 Duramax crew cab and got 1200 miles on it, fan came apart. It is now 6/4 and its been in the shop since 5/10 and still havent talked to a senior advisor. Made a lot of calls, and nothing. I am very disappointed in the way GM has handled this situation. It is not good when a person has to make thier first payment without being able to use the truck they bought. I have been a GM guy as long as Ive been driving and Ill tell you that if I was treated this way years ago I would be driving something else. I am tired of waiting for a human to contact me to try to get help on this so I will contact the dealer and see if the store manager has any options or if I need to go to the Dodge dealer a mile from them and see if they may have better customer service. My dealer told me that they have not had this fan issue yet but I have talked to other Chevy dealers and I am not the only one to go through this. I am only writing this review because GM has multiple records of me calling and requesting information and they just dont care. Good luck to anyone that have to deal with their senior advisors.
