If youre looking for a practical small SUV with decent fuel economy and plenty of usable space inside and comfortable ride. The 2017 Equinox is not a bad choice. Whether a long trip or a short trip around town. That being said. My experience owning this vehicle has been poor. In the short time that I have owned it. I have had to replace the power seat track and then back again 40k later to have the switch on the power seat replaced along with the fuse block. The front brakes dont last the expected average in normal driving conditions. Most recently I picked up on a issue the Equinox has had since the current version came out in 2010 and GM has never addressed it at the manufacturing level. The inner door seams on all four doors have rusted. Bulletin# 15136. Unfortunate I didnt notice the issue until 62 so paid out of pocket for repair. Outside of these issues there are other know issues that I have not experienced. And outside of regular maintenance and the issues I have mentioned. It is a good all around SUV that can be purchased at a more affordable price than most competitors. Also if safety is a concern. The equinox is one of the best at a 4 out of 5 stars. P.S. GM does not supports their product long term adequately enough.

GM sent me a letter telling me that some owners were having problems with their transmissions and that I needed to bring it in for just a reprogramming. After that I took the motorhome on a trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains and the truck shifted really bad going up hills at slow speeds. I had to call GM because I could not find a dealer that would work on it. The Dealer I bought it from is not licensed to work on GM products but can sell them. GM found a dealer who looked at it drove it and even wrote on the repair slip that he felt chugging on underload. Tech asst, told him to tell me to use higher octane. % years of driving it with no problems and they reprogram the tranny and now I have to use a higher octane. Called GM and this is where my nightmare started. I was put in touch with ** from Senior adviser and right from the beginning she had a attitude with me. Lying to and then making promises only to break them after. She promised she would call back and never did. And then said she wrote down the wrong number and I find that funny because after the weekend she called me but never asked me for the right number. I spent 4 hours on the phone with GM and only hung up after my cordless went dead. Worst experience I have ever had with a company. Now I find out my brand new Colorado has two open recalls. That means that GM does not have the parts or know how to fix them. But who needs front brakes or your front seat bolted in right. RUN people! GM has not changed and does not care one bit about you. Follow up. ** just called me 5/18/15 and left a message telling there are no other dealers in my state that will work on my motorhome even though there are hundreds of GM dealers in my state. Nice. I a truck under factory warranty that no one will fix and a new truck that has recalls that GM did not even let me know about. DO NOT BUY GM. They have not changed.

Was brushed off (should have been the 1st clue). Continued problems with Navigation unit, Radio, Heater, A/C, Infotainment issues; drive train and/or transmission, door handles constantly breaking and the dealership here in Tallahassee could care less. Have 2 open tickets with GMC and STILL not getting anywhere. Being dyslexic and fully disabled/handicapped; my husband bought this car specific to help me. NOT happy!!

I love the body style and the way this short lady sits up to see over the front dash. My only complaint is not as quiet on rough road. Most highways there is no wind or road noise. But other than that, Im very happy with my choice.

Own 3 Chevy Sonics. 2014 I bought mine, loved it so much we bought our 2 children one each in 11/16. In Jan of this year (2018) our sons car burnt up while it was parked and ignition was off for at least an hour. No modifications were made to this car. Fire department, and insurance company both said that the fire started under the hood. We called GM immediately. It took over 3 1/2 months for GM to even send anyone to look at it and it was after the insurance company had to threaten them. I went back to dealership, and was told that the car was still under factory warranty and they should have investigated it as soon as it happened. The GM investigator that did speak to me was rude and told me (3 months after the fire), I am sure the car has been scrapped for metal by now...which it had not been. He also said Well we dont know that the car catching on fire was fault due to the motor...and I replied You wouldnt know cause you sent no one out. On April 3, 2018 I emailed our insurance company and they said that GM would have a decision in 2 weeks. I have requested a status regularly and it has been 7 months with no response as in no call, email or letter from GM. All I asked was that they stand by their warranty. I understand that to GM this is a game of corporate bullying. They have no interest in providing a valid service to their customers. Their mission statement We at GM make a strong commitment to our customers, employees, partners, and other important stakeholders. They continue to promote that they are guided by five principles including Safety and Quality first...Create Lifelong Customers. GM has demonstrated to me that they do not stand by their product or their mission. GMs only mission is to serve themselves at the expense of their customers. I will never buy a GM vehicle again.

Easy to fix if something goes wrong. Truck has 4x4 drive, keypad alarm, and fog lights. Seats are automated. Its very easy to drive. It has back windshield wipers. Inside lights and brakes work great. Its good on gas. The truck lets us know if we need to check any kind of gadgets and lets us know gas and the mileage. It is very easy to handle and very easy to drive and fix. It can fit five people. Usually it has two adults, three kids in car seats in truck. Its comfortable to take it in long rides most of the dang time. It does good in the rain as long as you check the air in tires. Check everything else before you go out and about... And we can open the back to sit or even camp out or to sit by fire or go to park or even go through drive in. We can open back and lay back to watch the movie at the drive in. We like it very much cause of the room and what it has. Love it in every way. Best truck I ever got.

I called GM corporate office and spoke with a James, who apologized for my bad experience and told me that they will reimburse me the full cost of the repairs. The next day, he called to say that GM will not reimburse and that he would have to take the side of the service advisor. However, it is against GMs policy to work on a car without authorization from their customers. Of course the service advisor is trying to save his job by saying that I authorized the work. How can I authorized anything that you dont tell me about?

It is with regret that I am compelled to write about my Chevrolet/GM dealership with any negative comments, and I feel that I have been slighted due to the fact that I am a woman and men feel that they can tell me things and I am supposed to pretend that I can only grasp what is told to me and accept it unconditionally. I was experiencing wind noise from the drivers door of my new 2011 Chevy Silverado Extended Cab Pickup Truck. My first visit to address this problem was an adjustment to the door by the Service Manager who appeared concerned for my problem and wished to correct it. I reported back and explained that I was still experiencing the wind noise, plus there had been a recent dust storm and my husband pointed out to the service manager where dust had passed through the weather stripping. This time new weather stripping was installed.I drove to Colorado Springs to visit the grand kids for Christmas and I needed to drape a jacket over my left shoulder while driving as the air coming through the door was cold and my shoulder was freezing. My husband sat in the passenger side noticed that he could also feel wind coming in from the door on the passenger side of the truck.Last Friday, January 27th, I was again at Sands Chevrolet to once again address the wind noise, as well as a squeak under the hood. I was introduced to the Shop Foreman who was to ride with me to hear the wind noise and make recommendations to correct the problem. What I got instead is: What you are experiencing is turbulence much like that of an airplane. GM and Chevy trucks are designed like this so that the occupants do not suffer from Carbon Monoxide Poisoning. My 73 truck did it and my 81 truck did it too. I said that my 96 Mustang doesnt do it. He said that my Mustang is not square. I told him that the wind noise lessened after the new weather stripping was installed, but it was still present. I told him that I had used a pressure washer and showed my service manager where water had leaked in. He told me that I shouldnt have used the pressure washer as the truck is not designed to facilitate that type of pressure, it is designed to keep out rain water only. He said they have a smoke machine to locate air leaks. I told him that my next detection mode was going to be baby powder. He said yes it would work, by lining the door frames with baby powder then turn the air on full blast to see if any powder escapes to the outside. Because my truck is designed to keep the air in, not to keep the outside air from entering in. He said that in order to not have turbulence I would need to buy a Cadillac truck, but people who buy them do not use them for anything other than to haul people, and I would have to spend eighty thousand dollars not to have wind noise. Now if he could hear a whistling noise from either door, then something could be done. But nothing can be done about this. He suggested that I turn up the volume on my radio.I am returning to the dealership this AM to address the squeak under the hood. I really like my service manager but I think his foreman is overriding him on my complaint. My service manager seems genuinely concerned about me and my satisfaction. I feel that the Shop Foreman thought that since I am a woman he could give me this line of baloney and I would accept it as gospel because he is a man! This is a brand new truck and I should not have to cover my shoulder in cold weather, or hear wind noise at 65 75 miles per hour. Does any other Chevy truck owner have this same problem?

Since it was Friday, he told me to take the car and hell submit my app to Vystar on Monday. Then, he cautions me that people with HIGH FICO scores get declined all the time! How ethical is that? Then he suggests that he complete my paperwork at a higher rate, JUST IN CASE. I stuck to my guns on the lowest rate and didnt take the bait. 5. The car was sent to be cleaned (last car) but it seemed more like it was rinsed because it was still dirty.6. Monday came, no call. Tuesday came, no call. Wednesday came, no call. Thursday came, no call. Friday came, and I finally called to get the run around and a man said he THINKS I was okay. NO ONE EVER CALLED to follow up. It literally took 2 1/2 weeks for a confirmation letter. 7. I Noticed $300 accessory fee added to my sales price. 8. Received denial letter from the dealership not a finance co, that said I was denied for multiple accts in delinquency. That is inaccurate info, as I have no delinquencies at all, and would not have a FICO score of 803 if there were such. (see attached w/ score), yet I was APPROVED by VYSTAR at their best rate for used cars8. A so-called Customer Exp Mgr ** emailed and said some words followed by A HAND WASH for my troubles. Wow! That was very gracious. Never Again! The hallmark of a disorganized company is that they never finish what they start. Thus, me having to call over and over to get my status and no one could give me a definitive answer. If you like being both confused and getting the runaround - OR - a free hand-wash, choose this place. I hate to break the suspense to you, but if I ran the joint, I would offer more than a hand-wash! PLEEZ, Mr. **, that added about a GALLON of HIGH OCTANE FUEL to the FIRE. I even went as far as to share w/Mr. ** that my dissatisfaction with the dealership was too far gone and I have told over 15 people. No one cares, yet they talk like they do. P.S. Credit score is 803. As a woman, I truly hate having to give a negative review on any company, but this company deserves it.

Recently I changed my oil as I have always on time when prompted to. And replaced oil filter cap and the o-ring did not seal properly so needless to say without any warning lights or anything the engine pumped out 5 1/2 quarts of much needed 6 total of my oil. Didnt realize anything was wrong until the engine started making a loud noise. Of course GM says theyre not responsible for this mistake because I changed my own oil. But I ask GM why I can buy a $99 lawn mower with a low oil sensor in the engine to protect my investment but a $26,000 Camaro does not have a low oil sensor in the engine to protect my investment. I said even if I fix the car myself this can happen again.I have always been a Chevy man but this just makes no sense to me why they would not invest another $20-$30 to protect what the dealer said will cost me now at least $9500 for a new engine, which I totally disagree with because its only ticking and may not need a new engine but for now and the next 4-5 yrs. Ill be paying very high payments on a yellow lemon yard ornament... this should be a recall. Theres no excuse for this type of manufacturing, very disappointed in the brand Ive bragged about for many years. If this is their best they can build for consumers, they should stop building cars. At this point, I can promise I will always tell people about the warning of the disrespect for consumer investment that GM does not care one damn bit about you after you purchase their product. My 2013 GMC Terrain has turned into the worst investment I have ever made. The abs light keeps coming on along with the stabilitrak light. When this happens the abs activates and the car doesnt stop well. Also this error code shuts off the all wheel drive. This is a major safety issue and when I brought it to the dealer they said its a bearing and the hub needs to be replaced at my cost. So when I called gm I spoke to senior service advisor who assured me they would contact the dealer and assist me with the cost.After some 30 phone calls Mary sr#** never returned my call nor did she contact the dealer. So I called and spoke to someone else who told me that gmc was not going to help me and that I could not escalate the problem any further. I drive my kids around in this car and due to the safety issue I have no choice but to get the repair completed at more than $400 cost. I think the service is the worst part of the whole thing. I will be sure to tell everyone I know not to buy from gm, they do not care about their customers at all. My next car will be a Honda.

Part in back order since May of 2016!!! So not fair when you spend $70,000 on a car and the AC goes out in a year. I had a 2010 Suburban BF this Yukon that had electrical issues GM knew about and wouldn’t recall! NEVER EVER again will I buy a GM product and I’ve had them for the last 20 years buying a new one every 3-4 years. There should be some class action suit to get these condensers fixed on GM’s dollar. Not someone who just spent 70k on a luxury SUV! So frustrated.

Chevy Corsa 1.4i, vehicle not repaired properly - I bought a brand new vehicle. Three days later, I contacted the dealer and reported a faulty air con. I straightaway asked for a new car and was told that it has to be repaired and that it was the air con unit box in the dashboard. After a month and a half, I was told my car is ready for collection. On inspection, my fuse box cover was damaged and was replaced by a demo vehicle. The front of my bumper was damaged and had to go to the panel beaters for a re-spray after one of the workshop guys (unprofessional) try to touch it up with paint, causing more damage. After I received it back, I returned it within 24 hours complaining my left mirror cover is not lining up like the right hand side. One of the guys tried to repair it (not the same guy who assembled the job) after I received it back, they broke the right hand side leaving it out of its bracket and a big gap. I was told then, that I must return the vehicle in two weeks when the guy who assembled my car will be back from leave. When I try and put my car in reverse, the gears are scratching badly before it goes in. I feel that my car was not worked on by professional and my life is in danger with the gears scratching believing it might jam while I am driving or leave me stranded.

Well little did I know this first year production in the US would be a bad thing for this car. The engine eats water pumps to the tune of 3 since new, and then it also has used up 2 turbos as well. A case of poor design I guess on both, and yet customer service does very little but stroke you into thinking they care and issuing you a fancy customer service ticket. As if they will get these problems resolved for you ASAP. Yea, wishful thinking if you think GM will do this for you. I dont know which has turned me off of GM more, their poorly built automobiles or their terrible customer service. But lets not blame the local dealer here, who faces warranty rejection on claims not approved by GM. So they have little recourse too but to do what GM instructs them too. I definitely will never give GM any more of my business as long as I live. Consider yourself lucky if you get a reliable GM products.

Here is my ongoing log of what I have been going through since I leased a brand new 2015 Chevy Equinox on May 12, 2015. Please help by sharing this with everyone daily. I will keep posting updates until this matter has been resolved to my satisfaction!5/12/15 Tuesday, leased a brand new 2015 Chevy Equinox from Victor Chevrolet. Odometer reads 118. 5/17 Saturday, day 5, radio/Bluetooth went dead. Pushed all buttons, one of them reset radio. Bluetooth dead until I shut off car. Went in house, came back out and started car. Bluetooth worked. Hoping it was a one time deal. 5/21 Thursday a.m, on my way to work audio went dead, screen still lit. Went into Walmart, came out, started car, screen was dead. Bluetooth dead. Sent Kevin (my wonderful salesman who promised me before buying this lemon that he always takes care of his customers. What he meant by that has yet to been determined) an e-mail stating that I was having trouble with the radio/Bluetooth and needed it replaced with a functioning one. After all, it is brand new and under warranty!5/21 p.m., I spoke with Kevin and told him I would drop it off after I got out of work that day. After work that day, I had a friend follow me to Victor Chevrolet to drop off the car. I met Bill in Service. He told me he would call me when the car was fixed. I was surprised when Bill called me in less than an hour, telling me it was fixed. So my friend drove me back out to pick up my brand new repaired 2015 Equinox. When I got there to pick it up, Bill explained to me that the radio/Bluetooth system had what he called a glitch in it. GM was aware of the glitch and was working on a fix for it. He warned me that it may take 1-3 months to come up with a fix for the glitch. He said if it happened again, just press this button on the rear view mirror and it would reset. I left with the vehicle, foolishly thinking that it probably wouldnt happen immediately. Wrong!5/22 Friday, the next day it happened again. I pushed the button that Bill had told me to push, and yes the radio went back on, but the phone/Bluetooth wouldnt connect. 5/23 Saturday, called Victor Chevrolet. Told them this was absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable and I was bringing the lemon back and I wanted it fixed, or they would have to give me a new car, or cancel the lease. Their choice of the three options. When I brought it back, I met Phil the service manager. He immediately knew what the problem was! All it needed was a new module. Thats all, simple! He would order it and let me know when it was in. Really??? If it was that simple, why didnt Bill know this two nights ago when I had brought it in??? I said Im leaving it! I refuse to drive a brand new car without a radio/phone - fix it!. I did not agree to leasing a defective vehicle! Odometer approx. 450.5/28 Thursday, got a call from Phil. He told me he could not get the module he needed to fix the vehicle. Said GM has a hold on the part. They will not release this part. The part is VIN specific. It cant just be taken off another vehicle on the lot! I said so you cant fix it. He said no. I told him I wanted another car or the lease cancelled. He agreed that this is what should happen. 5/29 Friday, I was then pawned off on Ed **? spelling, who is the sales manager. Ed explained that he would have to get authorization from GM to do a buy back and then they would set me up with a new vehicle. Said he would get back to me on Monday 6/1. 6/1 Monday, getting the run around from Ed! Surprise!6/2 Tuesday, Phil gets on the phone and tells me that hes been talking with some people at GM and they have a solution! Really? I find this sudden revelation to be very interesting. These dirtbags will say anything and try anything to delay, delay, delay the end game here. Now they suddenly have a fix!? I doubt it, but Ill give them one last chance at this pathetic run-around game they are playing. I know they dont have a so called sudden fix, but whats another day, in this pathetic game? So now, Phil is going to reprogram the unit. GM is sending him by computer the new program. He will install the update in the lemon and he is going to miraculously fix the problem!!6/3 Wednesday, Phil has reprogrammed the unit and is now out test driving the lemon. Hes gone five miles and assures me its working well. I can come tomorrow to pick it up and drive away in my brand new 2015 Chevy Equinox. Cant wait! Im so excited, cant you tell? 6/4 Thursday, cant wait to spend my half day off, begging for a ride to go pick up my lemon! They fueled it up and even waxed it. Life is good! I pull out, stop home, go pick up my son, go to a store, go back home, get in the lemon again with both my sisters to go to visit a friend in the hospital. Guess what happens next? The audio goes dead, imagine that! I call Phil. Oh, hes going to call Onstar to see if they can get a code! There may be hope. He thinks they got a code. I bring it back to Victor Chevrolet. Phil is not there, I talk to Bill. I tell him I am done, keep it, I dont want it… EVER! Its worse than the boy who cried wolf. I cant stand it!Here is what I want. LEASE CANCELED. REFUND MY $3000.00 down payment before I have to make my first payment. Advised by Victor Chevrolet to Call GM Customer Service and set up a case number. Spoke with GM. Reiterated my complaint and was shuffled to DONNA (1-866-790-5600x**), who would now be in charge of my case. She assigned it a number: Service Request #**. This made me feel like maybe, just maybe, someone might be able to help. Hahaha, the joke was on me! Donna would later become known as worthless, non-responsive Donna, never to be heard from again, even after leaving several messages on her pathetic answering machine.6/8, message from Phil ** (service manager who seems to be the only one willing to talk about the lemon), he tells me he is talking with OnStar and he has forwarded all my info in an e-mail to them. 6/9, havent heard anything - as usual - so I text Phil and ask what hes heard. 6/10, Phil texts me that he is out with an infection. 6/11, Phil texts that he spoke with the TAC and OnStar people and they are sending a chassis overnight ship priority. 6/12 (Friday), told by Phil by text message that chassis has arrived and he was pulling the lemon in as he was texting me. Later texted that once it was installed, he would be test driving it to make sure all was well. Said I could plan on picking it up Saturday 6/13. 6/13 (Saturday), Phil was still testing it.6/15 (Monday), Phil reports that its all fine. Says he will deliver it to my house so I dont have to be inconvenienced for the umpteenth time. I agree. Texted Phil to thank him for the delivery at 5:06 p.m. Reported to Phil at 5:33 p.m. that I paired the vehicle with my phone, but when I dialed, it wanted to use OnStar Calling and not my phone. Reported to Phil at 7:50 p.m. that I pulled into my sons school parking lot and the radio went dead, no phone, no OnStar, no anything!!! Would not reset after pressing the suggested reset button. Turned vehicle off and back on, still nothing.6/16 Tuesday, started car in a.m to go to work. Everything working. 6/17 Wednesday, reported to Phil about working perfect on 6/16. Told him I would continue driving it and report back. 6/19 Friday, reported to Phil that it was working fine. Spoke too soon. 6/20 Saturday, went to a graduation party. Went to car, started it and made a phone call. The person didnt answer so I used the button on the steering wheel to cancel the call. My phone turned off, but the radio screen said connected to Marg cell at which time I couldnt use the radio or phone. I turned off the vehicle and the screen remained lit with that message. I turned the vehicle back on and the message remained for another 10 minutes before I gave up and shut it off and walked away. Went back to the graduation party. Returned to the vehicle about an hour later and it worked fine. (VIDEO).6/23 Tuesday, heading to work and screen goes dead. Same as usual. Hit reset button radio goes back on, but no phone and no OnStar. Come out after work, and all is working. Need car through the weekend for my sons High School graduation. Will take notes and return lemon for third and final BS no-fix attempt that is required by lemon law. Pathetic. 6/25 Thursday, same exact thing as 6/23. On the way to work. 6/27 Saturday, after graduation, on the way to Delmonicos. This time Jim is driving which allows me to videotape exactly what it does. (VIDEO).6/28 Sunday, texted Phil with the news. I will be bringing the lemon back. Will need a loaner off the lot. Unlike the rental car from Enterprise offered to me before, that would have required my credit card. When asked why they would need my credit card, their response at Enterprise was in case Victor Chevy doesnt pay. REALLY? Thanks, but no thanks!!! Of course I declined that snake oil offer.6/29 Monday, heard from Phil. They have a loaner. Told him I would be in to leave the lemon and take the loaner. Did that at 1 p.m. Nice way to spend my vacation day off. Ugh! 6/30 Tuesday, texted Phil the following: Hows it going Phil. Is the 3rd nonfix done? That was a joke!!! What is GMs response at this stage of the pathetic game that they are playing? They either have an immediate fix or they no fix at all! You and I both know there is no satisfactory repair for this car! We need to resolve this asap.7/1 Wednesday, texted Phil. Asked if anything was happening. Buying/Leasing a car is a major purchase and I want a car that would be problem free and reliable. I gave GM a chance but I wish I never bought this car! Since I leased this car, I had and still have several of issues with a rear noise coming from the window and bumper falling off. I brought the car to the dealership over 20 times. I took much time off from work for service drop off and pickups. The car has a history of issues and I exhausted my attempts, I called GM and asked for help after service said dont bring this back here for this issue. GM customer service was NO HELP and I was forced to use the Massachusetts lemon law. After I contacted the service team, the dealership service told me they will stand by my side so GM can buy the car back or replace it. I was misled and left in the dark when this matter became reality, the issues were described as minor by the dealership. I was shocked by this outcome and not sure why this happened. To be honest, Im not trying to make matters worse but I want a reliable car that Im paying for. GM is not going to do anything about this after the dealership lied. I have a car that is bad and still 18 month left on the lease. I tried to get out of this lease but I cant afford to and forced to keep this car. This is the worst experience I ever had with any company, how can a company run with dishonestly and built the worst cars ever made? I leavened and will NEVER buy a GM as long as I live. Any Visa card I have ever had does not expire until the money is used. They said this money is prepaid to Visa so Im guessing when the card expired, they got the money back from Visa and put in their account as the women I talked to refused to answer the question as to where the money went, so I guess they actually stole $648 from me, as if we dont pay enough for their vehicles to start with. It was hit on the driver side, front wheel and front. The body shop quoted a price of $8,400 for repairs. It ended up $9,633. The body shop had my vehicle for almost a month to repair. The second day, after I picked it up from the shop, the engine light came on. I took it back to the body shop. They had to take it to a GM shop to run a diagnostic test which they charged $97.00 which I paid. The #2 coil needed replacing. They said this was not covered under my 100,000 mile power train. They are saying this was not related to the accident. NOT A HAPPY PERSON HERE. I have bought 3 other GM cars. No problems. I thought that if you bought a vehicle new, you would have only basic minor problems. I have 76,425 miles on my vehicle and it should be worth about $14,000 to $17,000. Once this vehicle is repaired, Im trading it.. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER GM CAR. I WILL BUY NISSAN, FORD, OR TOYOTA. YOU JUST LOST ANOTHER CUSTOMER.

The part which failed was not available at the Flagstaff dealership and was only available from the parts warehouse in Reno Nevada. 2. We offered several times to pay the expense to expedited the shipping of the part to the Flagstaff dealership from the GM parts warehouse in Reno by air, FedEx, Purolator or DHL. The Flagstaff dealer and GM turned us down both times. 3. GM’s inability to track the part from the GM parts warehouse in Reno and were not able to give us a clear delivery date. The part did not arrive until 13 days after it was ordered. Had we known the part would be in Flagstaff on a specific date we would have stayed in Flagstaff until the part arrived and the truck was fixed. As it was the dealership could not tell us when it would be there.4. This vehicle is under full warranty and only has 13890 kms.Here is a summary of events leading up to these excessive expenses. On March 17 this year, my wife and I were driving home back to Canada from Phoenix, Arizona. We were 20 miles south of Page, Arizona when the charger cooler tube on the turbo unit failed. We called AAA and had the truck and our trailer towed back to the nearest GM dealership, which was in Flagstaff.We met with the Service Advisor the next day, Wednesday March 18, and by 11 am the part was found at the GM parts depot in Reno Nevada and would be at the Flagstaff dealership 6 days later on Monday March 23. Because we were concerned the Canada/US border was closing, and with the excessive amount of time it was going to take to ship the part to the dealer, we offered several times to pay for the expense to expedited the shipping of the part to the Flagstaff dealership from the GM parts warehouse in Reno by air, FedEx, Purolator or DHL. The Flagstaff dealer and GM turned us down both times.Please note Reno is just over 700 miles (1132 kms) from Flagstaff. The parts did not arrive on Monday March 23. We met again with the Service Manager on Monday but were told the parts had not arrived and would arrive Wednesday March 25. Wednesday March 25 the parts did not arrive. The Flagstaff dealership said the parts were somewhere between Reno and Flagstaff and that GM did not have the ability to track any parts. They said the parts may arrive Monday March 30. At this point we decided to rent a truck ($2000 US) and tow our trailer back to Canada. Again both the US and Canadian Governments were threatening to close the borders. We left Thursday morning March 26 after stopping by the dealership one last time to see if the parts had arrived. The part still had not arrived.The parts finally arrived Monday March 30, 13 days after the parts were ordered and the truck repaired Tuesday March 31. Because the border between Canada and US now remains closed, the only way I could get the truck back was to have it shipped back into Canada is by a commercial transport company. The Flagstaff dealership said GM might offer to pay for the transport of the truck between Flagstaff and Great Falls Montana. I offered to pay for the remaining transport between Great Falls and Calgary. Again GM declined.Also why is it that only Cadillacs quality for a free 800 mile/km tow while other GM vehicles don’t? My total bill to transport the truck from the Flagstaff dealership to Lethbridge Canada was $1350 US, ($1995 Can). Cole International’s charges for inter-border documents was $150 Can. So I have spent over $5000 Canadian on a part that maybe worth $100 all because GM didn’t have the required part at the dealership, could not track the part from their warehouse in Reno and give us a clear delivery date, and would not let us pay to have the part fast-tracked from the warehouse in Reno to the dealership in Flagstaff. I finally picked up my truck today May 11, 2020 from the Davis GMC dealership in Lethbridge. I haven’t heard back from GM Customer Service Canada since I sent in all of my expenses at the end of May and I don’t expect to hear back from them.

Overall, I am very disappointed with both of my experiences with Todd ** and will not return for any service. My issues may be limited to the salesman I worked, with but I will never do business with them again. My husband and I have now leased 2 vehicles from Todd ** and have had terms misrepresented and glazed over leading to large unexpected bills. First, we took my wifes Terrain (November 2016) in that we had leased through another dealership to find out my options. We wanted to buy it out since there was some damage we were afraid of paying for. I kept asking what the buy out would look like monthly but was never given the option and told it would be dumb to buy it out as the price was over the fmv. I was told to not worry about the damage to the previous vehicle and that they would pop out the door ding and take care of the scratches and that they didnt think I would receive a bill. I kept reiterating that this is very important to me as I did not have cash at the time to pay for other things. On top of this we asked about the GMC family discount as to whether it would still apply to us because my grandfather had passed away and we were unsure if we still qualified. Once again, I was told to not worry about it and they would figure it out. I asked worse case scenario that we dont qualify what would the outcome be and was told we would figure it out. My lease term was signed that night including the discount. Upon realizing we do not qualify for the discount the sales agent asked us to pay the almost $1200 difference which I had asked if that would happen and was told they would figure it out. Fast forward to a month later, and I received a bill for $1300 on my vehicle for wear and tear after being told to expect nothing. I realize they cannot guarantee that we wouldnt owe anything but none of the dings or scratches were even taken care of as I was told they would be. Shame on me for not getting anything in writing but these practices led me to sign a contract on false pretenses. We left saying never again. Secondly, we leased a Sierra (February 2016) which is now up so we took it to another dealership to turn in and were slapped in the face with what we owed. It was a loaner vehicle which had roughly $5,000 miles on it. (The first Terrain was a loaner so we had experience leasing this type of vehicle.) We were told that the lease was for 10,000 miles a year for 2 years (20,000-mile lease). We kept discussing this as I was afraid 10,000 might be cutting it close for us. Cue the sales representative to sell us the extended coverage allowing $400 of extra mile coverage which equaled to be about 2,000 more miles which they explained meant 11,000 a year so we signed up. We watched our miles closely through the 2 years and calculated we may still owe around $100 due to an unexpected trip we took that had us a little over the 22,000 total miles we thought we had. Fast forward to trying to turn in this vehicle, we were told the lease was for 20,000 including the 5,000 that was previously on it meaning really, we only had roughly 7,500 a year. This fact was never remotely discussed to us but in a small box in the lease we see that number. I realize we signed the paperwork but how do you tell someone something and agree to terms and then fail to disclose some of the largest facts of the agreement. We also discovered there is a $495 disposition fee that was never discussed. It seems pertinent to me to disclose things like this rather than hide them in a long list of papers that they shove in front of you to sign.I am also against the survey they hand you on your experience to fill out in front of your sales rep. They hand you a piece of paper saying Todd ** only accepts exceptional here fill this out while I sit in front of you making it extremely uncomfortable to honestly respond. While I understand that there is nothing legally wrong with this, it is definitely not good practice.

To cut the long story short, my 2005 Malibu has less than 90,000 miles and is well maintained. I have it serviced on schedule and have repairs done upon them showing up. The rear main seal had to be replaced, which in all the years of owning vehicles, this has never ever occurred even with cars that were in the 70s models. The repair was in excess of $1,100.00. This is a lot of money to pay out of my budget. Even my service writer said that this should not have happened with as well as I take care of my car. He suggested I should contact GM to see if I could recoup some of the expense from them. After a week of calls and messages, the district specialist (who was out sick for over a week) told my spouse that they would not help. I dont even think he really looked at the information as he didnt even call to confirm with me. We dont have a problem with the dealership as they have always taken care of us and have been very professional. Its GM and their corporate morons who need to be given the boot. And they wonder why they are doing so poor.

I sent them photos and videos, etc. It is a danger and I cannot use my trunk without someone holding it open. Even when you do it can push down against you so you have to jump out of the way. They refuse to fix it or even have the car inspected. Horrible customer service and terribly rude. Stay far far away from this company and these cars. If this had landed on one of my kids it would have caused serious damage.

Truck was fixed and got it back in July. November 30 truck did the same thing, would not start, just turns over. Took truck back asked for a buy back (same part broke) or new truck. Dealer told me to call GM, start a claim. I did right then. Just received a call from GM corporate denying the claim saying the dealer has to start a technical claim. Tried to 3 way the dealer in to get all on the same page and the corporate rep hung up during the call. I have been given the runaround from both the dealer and Chevy, Florida laws says this is a lemon, both are trying their best to avoid the situation rather than correct it. Truck has 9000 miles on it, has been in the shop 3 times for the same problem and has been in the shop more than 30 days total. I spent days of my time dealing with it, spent $55,000 and its only 8 months old. Think twice before buying a GM product. I guess I am forced to hire help now. All I can do is share my experience and hope good people learn from it. Thank You.

I was unaware that it had turned 5 and the warranty was expired and no one told me, so I thought the warranty was still valid. The check engine light was on and I called and insisted that they look at my car. The dealer tried to be too busy. They determined that there was around a quart of oil left in the car. The dealership told me that they were sure that the last oil change had been done improperly and that the place I had taken it to have the service had not filled up the oil. The dealer then changed the oil and charged me $100+ to do it.When I expressed my disbelief that I had driven 5,000 miles on 1 quart of oil with no indication of any issues the dealership, Halladay Motors Cheyenne, Wyoming, said to bring the car in every 500 miles for the next few weeks and they would check the oil to be sure there were no other issues. At around week 5 the car was over a quart low and the check engine light had come back on. The dealership began an oil consumption test at this point. I had to bring my car in every 500 miles/tank of gas and they checked the oil and topped it off as needed and indicated what they had done on a chart. At the end of the test they had determined that the car had failed the test and that the solution was to replace the pistons. The dealer ordered the parts and arranged for a rental car so the work could be done. They indicated that this would be warranty work, no cost was mentioned when I dropped it off.Later that day the dealer called me and said it was two days out of warranty the first time I brought it in and that the work would not be covered. Also, it would cost me about $2600 to get it fixed. I only own one car and I need it to drive to work etc. There is no public transportation available in my area. I really had no choice but to agree to have the work done and pay for it. I contacted GM Customer Service to ask if they would reconsider covering the issue since it was obvious that the issue pre-dated the warranty expiring. Also, it was within two days of the initial visit. I was told after I was passed around that there was a very good chance that that GM would reconsider and cover the issue, and that there were procedures in place that the dealership should have taken to make sure I was aware that the warranty had expired, but that there was a grace period and that cost assistance may be available. This was September 6, 2016.I received a various voicemails indicating that I should call back and was never able to re-connect with anyone until today, September 22, 2016. I received a call telling me that GM and the dealer had decided that they would not be covering the issue or helping with the cost in any way. Last week the check engine light came on again and I had to have the timing solenoid replaced for another $200. Until now I had been very happy with GM products and a 30 year customer. Im no longer going to be a customer of GM or Halladay Motors after the ridiculous amount of time and money I have spent that should not have been necessary.

But, she continued, if you get go to a GM dealer and get it properly diagnosed we will still be able to help you out. I responded, you can still do something even though the warranty is out of date? She responded, yes, just call back after you have been to the dealership and have the paperwork. I told her, I can fix the problem myself if there is not going to be any coverage. She replied to get the truck diagnosed by GM and call back.So I went to the dealership and had it properly diagnosed as the problem, and had it fixed to a rate of almost $400. So then I called customer service back and got a different rep, who pulled up my file. She happened to be a tier 2 rep. She reviewed my file for a few minutes while putting me on hold, then came back and said, Im sorry but there is nothing we can do for you. I asked her to pull up the conversation that I had with the first rep, and she said that the first rep had given me improper information. I said thats great because that improper info cost me $400 instead of maybe $150 if I fix it myself. After battling back and forth with several managers over this they said as far as they are concerned that this was a she said-he said problem and they were not going to accept any fault. They said they could not find the original conversation transcripts.My family has been buying GM vehicles since 1974. Having spent 100s of thousands of dollars at their dealerships and they have no problem losing my business because one of their reps screwed up and they dont have the balls to put the customer first. Goodbye GM. You will never find me at one of your dealerships again. Youve lost one more loyal customer!!!

You go through KBB or Auto-trader for a quote on what your car is worth and its nowhere near what you owe on the car even with a less than 4% finance rate. Even with your car being in great shape, you still cant get what its worth but then you check the dealerships for the same car and its 4000, 5000, even as much as 6000 more than your KBB and Auto Trader and these cars arent in as good of shape as yours. This is another problem that GM has caused and the dealerships are being paid to fix the cars by GM and then clearing $4000.00 or more on the sales of these cars. Its not right to the persons who have to pay for these cars to never get back what the cars are worth. Come on, GM. Step up and buy these cars back and then you try to sell them and see how quick your mistakes are putting the blue collar man in the hole.

I just would like to communicate that even if the vehicle was serviced under the recall the problem may still exist, In the affected vehicles, there may be a sudden loss of electric power steering (EPS) assist that could occur at any time while driving. Should that occur, greater driver effort would be required to steer the vehicle at low speeds, increasing the risk of a crash.

In Oct 2013, my wife and I purchased a new 2013 Sonic sedan. A few months later it developed a creaking noise in the steering at low speeds as well as a scrunching noise in the rear when sitting in the car each time. The dealer tried unsuccessfully to fix it on several occasions in which the car spent about 6 weeks at the dealership. They swapped out parts from other cars, replaced new parts; all unsuccessful. After owning the car for 6 months I had had enough so I traded it on a 2014 Sonic (what a mistake). The scrunching noise in the rear started soon after. But as winter set in 7 months after buying it, the creaking noise started in the newest car. Again the dealer attempted to fix it, telling me it was cured. But when I picked up the car the noise was still present. Again this car spent several weeks at the dealership - finally my car was dropped back off for the last time; creaking still there. GM customer service had been following the issue. I called the dealership and GM, told them the noise was still there. A few weeks went by and today GM call center called and explained that they could not fix the issue and that the creaking noise was a normal characteristic of the car and they would no longer try to fix this issue. I have never been so frustrated.

Just know 13 is a unlucky number and if you decide to purchase a Buick keep that number in your mind. Do not purchase a GM Buick.

From the day we took delivery of this new Hummer H2, it has been nothing short of a nightmare of repairs. The roof seam leaked from day 1 and it took at least a dozen trips to the dealer to fix. The check engine light was next and 2 trips to the dealer fixed that, a new fuel filler neck assembly. Next the speedometer quit working and we had to drive the truck for a year with no idea what the speed was before the parts were available at the dealer to fix. At the same time, the ignition switch failed and was replaced with 1 trip to the dealer. After that the climate control system quit working correctly, blows heat out of one side and A/C out of the other when in the A/C mode. A part called an actuator fixed the passenger side but now the drivers side is blowing heat out like the passenger side. The climate control system has never worked right and never will. Theres nothing like a family summer vacation with the heat on in a $52,000 truck. We have had to just roll the windows down and suck it up until you get home. I have lost tens of thousands of dollars in lost work time taking this truck to be repaired. Would I buy another GM product? I would not take it if you gave it to me. I cant afford the time off work or the repair bills. This truck is a 2004 with 54,000 miles on it and is garage kept, never been off road. It still has the original tires on it and they are only about 70% worn. The customer service dept stated that GM would buy the truck back during the dozen roof repair attempts, but the amount they wanted to give us back should have been a criminal offense after what we paid for this truck.

The cost for repair was $2705. GM made me believe that they would help me out but after the bill was paid 3 days later I received a phone call informing me that they would not help in this matter. At the GM dealer they did say that a head should not go bad after 83,0000 and thought the main office would do something. Just goes to show you why I will never buy GM the rest of my life and will make sure as many people as I know will know of this issue.

Now I currently live in PA and took it to the closest dealer. The dealership told me that cruise control was installed improperly and needs to be removed because the wiring is spliced and it would cost me $214 with the diagnostic fee and the uninstallation. I was upset at this point because I didnt understand why I would have to pay to have something I paid to have put in uninstalled and I wont have it now? So I then contacted the dealership in FL to see if they would credit me back since the cruise control was put in improperly according to the dealership my car is at currently. From going back and forth and waiting for a call back, I finally got a call back to find out from the FL dealership that it was an aftermarket cruise control that was installed and that the module just needed to be changed and that’s it. So I called the dealership in PA and they said since it’s an aftermarket piece they didnt know that and there is nothing they can do. So I contacted GM and spoke to a rep Lauren there who I have been dealing with over a week to only get NOTHING resolved, and everyone just wants to play the he said she said game and not take responsibility for this and their employees not knowing what they are doing! I am upset and dont know what to do at this point. I am out of a cruise control and now have to pay for their mistake? This just doesnt seem right to me. I am still waiting on a call back from Lauren’s supervisor at GM customer service as well. This is my third car I purchased from this company and this is by far the worst experience I have ever had. So last month went back to the same dealership and talked to another salesman, drove a Malibu and told him what I was looking for a lease, I was a GM employee. He said that he was busy with a client but would get back to me later that day. 3 weeks later, I received a call from the dealership saying he was sorry he forgot about me but had worked up something and I could come in and see what he had. Well I figured if he does not have time for me then I would go somewhere else.Christmas Eve day, I stepped into Jackie Cooper Cadillac in Norman. The salesman said he only had 9 months experience but would get me a great deal. Found a SUV on the showroom floor and asked how much would the lease would be on that vehicle. He told me that I could get the lease payment for $350.00 a month. Well I questioned him again and asked how much do I have to put down on the vehicle and was told $0. I asked him again if he was sure I could get that vehicle for $350.00 a month lease with no money down? Was assured again that I could, so I said lets do the paperwork and I will take delivery today. He told me great and got me in the Finance Dept. to do the paperwork. After going through the paperwork and signing everything, I was informed that the lease payment would be $550.00 a month. I looked at the finance manager and asked, What about the $350 lease that I was told by your salesman? He said that there was no way I could get a lease for that amount unless I was ready to put down almost $4000.00. I informed the finance manager that I was told I could get this lease for $350.00 a month. After being informed that there was no way I could get the vehicle, I informed the Manager that they had some training to do with their staff because they gave me the wrong information and I was very upset after wasting 2 to 3 hours dealing with new cars sales people. I walked out, never I am sorry, please come back and see what we can work on. So now I go to Ferguson GMC in Norman and inquire about a truck. They had advertised a truck in the paper for $25999.00. So I went out to take a look to see what they had to offer. Jeff the new cars sales Manager told me that since I was a GM employee I could pick out anything I wanted and that I would get a better price then what was advertised because of all the rebates and GM discounts that I was entitled to. So this salesman takes me out and asked what I was looking for and I told him I would like to have 4 wheel drive and towing package. Found a vehicle and went to the finance dept. to see what they could do. Well after spending a couple of hours doing paperwork, my payment would be $550.00 a month. I told them that I wanted the truck that they advertised and was told that I could not get that deal with 4 wheel drive. I said, Ok, lets see what you can do, so I told them that I had an appointment that I had to go to so find a truck and give me a call. So a few hours later, I get a call from Daniel from finance and he asked me if I could come in and see what they found for me. I told him that I had to go to a performance that evening and he asked if I could come in on Saturday around 10:30am. I said fine. I was feeling bad because it was 10 minutes to 11am and I do not like to have people waiting for me. So I go to the showroom floor and asked for Daniel, and after about 20 minutes I was informed that Daniel does not start working till noon. I told the manager that I was asked to be there at 10:30am to look at this truck that Daniel wanted me to see. Again I was told that Daniel does not come to work till noon. So they asked if someone else could help, I said no because apparently no one knows what Daniel had put aside for me, so I told him to have them call me when they think they can get their act together. About 4pm, I receive a call from the salesman that helped me out the 1st time I came to the store. He informed me that they had a truck for me to look at and could I come in... I said I would see. The following Monday, I get a call from Jeff the new car Manager, he said please come out and look at a truck that he had set aside for me. I told him I would be right there. He said make sure you ask for Jeff because he would treat me right. I asked Jeff if these trucks that they were advertising had fog lamps, he said, I am looking at them and they all have fog lamps. I asked, How many do you have left at that sales price? and he said 7 or 8. So again I go out to the store and Jeff told me he was with a customer and just give him a few minutes, I said no problem. A few minutes later, Jeff came back out and said it was taking longer than he expected, I said no problem. About 10 minutes later, Jeff came back and said, Would it be all right if I hand you off to a salesman? I said all right, so the salesman said he would go get the truck and pull it up for me. The truck that they brought out did not have fog lamps. So I asked about the advertised special with fog lamps, and the salesman said he had no idea what the advertisement had. So I went back to Jeff and asked about the fog lamps and he said, No problem, I will put fog lamps on that for you... I said, You told me that you had all kinds of trucks with fog lamps on it, and he said, I guess I was mistaken. So I asked, How many trucks do you have for the advertise special? and he said, I guess you are looking at it. Well I was again upset and told them that they were wasting my time when you tell me you a lot of trucks with the fog lamps and you had 7 or 8 vehicles that I could look at, and he said what you see is all that they have. So I walked out of the 3rd facility that sells GM vehicles. I really did not know that GM was doing that good and could afford to lose customers but seems to me that they could care less if I bought a vehicle from them or not. So I guess I will have to go to look at a competitor since GM does not know how to treat their customers.

I am not getting any assistance from the dealer and a customer “senior” case manager seems to forget our conversations EVERY TIME! I have been being pulled along for a ride regarding how important my business is and that they will have a resolution to either trade me out of my car with assistance or buy this lemon back. It is appalling how I am being treated right now after being patient for months and months and trying to work with a brand that I have been very loyal to, to receive zero action and all talk. I will be trading in my vehicle and leaving the brand after spending over 75k on a Denali and 60k on a Suburban brand new off the lot from a GMC dealer. All over poor customer service.

Mind you, I am driving on a very busy street in Indianapolis also coming up on a very busy intersection. Luckily the left turn lane had no vehicle in it, but there was a red light and I could not stop. I looked both ways and braced myself for a horrible accident. Thankfully, I was able to get my vehicle turned and into a parking lot without getting hit or hitting anyone. I had to have my vehicle towed to Hubler Chevrolet (who took very good care of me). I did not purchase my vehicle from them. When I got home and checked the mail, there was a recall letter from GM stating there has been a recall on my vehicle due to the breaking system and the parts being contaminated. Also, due to the vehicle being so new, there were no parts yet available to fix the issue. I opened a case through GM and it was a struggle from then. Over a month for them to let me know that it was not a manufactures issue, but they would fix my vehicle at no cost to me due to the recall. Fast forward two months. Mind you, I still do not have my vehicle, yet I’m still paying on it. I receive a call from Hubler that the parts came in, but they are not programming with my vehicle. Two weeks later I received another call that more parts came in and those were not programming with my vehicle. I then called GM to initiate a buy back. About two weeks later Hubler called and stated my vehicle is now fixed and I could come pick it up. I receive a call today from GM stating they refused my buy back because my vehicle is now working properly. I am livid to say the least!

When I walked into the dealership, I sat in the back of one of their cars and when I tried to get out, I couldnt. After that, the sales person at the Cadillac dealership approached us and I was disgusted by her attitude. We talked about leasing an SRX and she told us she would like to get us into a 2013 SRX. The car that we brought in had less than 8,000 miles on it. She offered to appraise the vehicle, but to our surprise, she came back with a high lease payment with high down payment for a 2013 SRX even when all incentives and discounts were applied to it. I was even more disgusted by her and her attitude. After that, we left. Personally, I would never do business with a dealership like that, and you would think that we would be treated better given the fact that we have been loyal customers with GM for 21 years.

Colonial GMC in Charlottesville, Va. was my selling dealer so I went there and requested it be replaced under the extended warranty that I purchased good for 100,000 miles. Was told it wasnt covered under that warranty and had to pay to have it replaced. Bill was in excess of $300. Ok, paid and moved on.4 months later another door handle broke off on the rear door and was even being used much. Thinking this was an unusual I researched this problem and to my surprise realized these door handles have been breaking on Silverados and Sierras routinely, but to date GM has not had a recall or a TSP for this problem. Contacted GM and they told me I would receive a callback to resolve the issue. 3 days later I got a call from the dealer telling me I was out of luck, they would not do anything unless I paid the full price. Ok, I thought, I paid $63000 for a truck and they wont help with a door handle. I bought and $40 to install it. Bottom line is I will go back to buying a Ford or Dodge, had good service from them. Done with GM for a $17 door handle.

In October of 2016 the engine light came on, and it was discovered to have been caused by the mass airflow system. I had this part replaced but within a few days the light was on again. I brought the car back to the shop and the part was replaced a second time. Upon test drive, the light again came back on. A third part was ordered and replaced. When the light came on for the fourth time, my mechanic ran through the wiring system but did not find anything out of the ordinary. He ran checks on the gas pedal and various other sensors. He then deduced that the problem was not with any of the sensors, nor any of the mechanical systems in the vehicle. He thought it might be the ECM, but advised me to bring the car to Central Chevrolet to have them look deeper into the issue.The Astra was taken to Central Chevrolet, where they subsequently ran diagnostics and discovered that the ECM was, in fact, bad. I inquired about purchasing an ECM from a parts site that I will not name, but was informed that GM would be unable to or would not program the computer unless it was an OEM part. At this point, my hands were tied. I would have to spend $700 on the part if I wanted my car to run properly again. I bit the bullet and told them to go ahead and move forward with the repair.Central Chevrolet received the part and assigned one of their GM technicians to begin the programming. As the process neared completion, the ECM was bricked. A second ECM was purchased and a second, more qualified GM tech was assigned to do the programming. He was on the phone with either a TAC or TISS representative I cant recall which and together they went through the programming process step by step. Again, the programming failed toward the end and bricked the part. It was not until after this second part failed that GM decided to inform the service department at Central Chevrolet that the pre-2009 Saturn software for this part is no longer available.So here I am now, six months after the engine light first came on and at least six weeks without my vehicle. As I was without the car for several days here and there for troubleshooting between October and March, the inconvenience is even greater. How can GM just let software go away for a car that is not even ten years old? Its software, its not like its taking up a bunch of space in a warehouse somewhere. Additionally, how does GM sell a part to a repair shop TWICE without advising that the software required to make it work no longer exists? And then to wait until AFTER the second part bricks?I called GMs customer service line and spoke with Joe, who sent me to Shaneva. Shaneva informed me that she would call Central Chevrolet for more details, and that I would have to wait 24-72 hours before receiving an update. The call came at the 72nd hour. When Shaneva informed me that in lieu of a resolution, I was being offered an Owners Loyalty Certification, I asked to be directed to a supervisor. I was told my call would be returned within 24-48 hours. I received no response within that time frame, and I actually had to call back again.I have since retrieved my car from Central Chevrolet. It is now in much worse condition than it was when I brought it in, and the vehicle is simply not safe to drive. I expected the original issue to still be a problem. I did NOT expect to be left with a car that I can no longer drive AT ALL! I have been a GM customer/vehicle owner for over 20 years, and I have never had a problem, until now. I am extremely disappointed in the way this situation has been unfolding. When I purchase a car, I expect it to get old and to need repairs. I also expect to have the choice of whether to make those repairs. In this situation, not only do I have no choice, but GM has the gall to offer me an Owners Loyalty Certificate with the expectation that I would purchase another GM product.

When we done the loan for the vehicle, we went through a local bank where my father has banked at for many, many years! My credit score is not the greatest, so my wonderful father agreed to co-sign for me so I could purchase the vehicle and help build my credit! When we done this loan, I was supposed to have been the main one on the loan and my father of course the co-signer! When we purchased the vehicle it did come with a warranty! I believe it was the second day that I had the vehicle, I was backing out of the parking lot where I work on my way to get lunch, and the vehicle started to shake and act as if it was going to quit! The whole way to McDonalds and back, which was about 10 minutes, the vehicle done this!It actually did quit on me once and I got it started back up and was able to make it back to work! I called the dealership and told them what the vehicle was doing and they told me just to bring the vehicle back over to them if it would make it and they would take care of it for me! I took the vehicle back to the dealership, and they gave me a rental and a couple days later they called and told me that it was a sensor that had went bad and that they got it fixed and the vehicle was ready to be picked up! It drove just fine for a while. Then I started having issues with the oil, it would go through oil like crazy, and I would go to start it up and it would sound horrible! The only way I can really describe the sound it would make, is it was a loud ticking noise and then when given the gas it would make a loud whining sound and when slowing the vehicle down or coming to a stop it would start jerking itself like it was trying to quit!I took it back to the dealership again, and If I remember correctly… they replaced the Fuel pump! Again... it drove fine for a while and then it started doing the same thing! We were constantly having to put oil in it, and drive around with it making the same horrible sound as before, and you didnt know if when you came to a stop or a low speed if it was just going to quit on ya! I ended up having to take the vehicle back to the dealership a couple more times over this issue and the last time I had it there they told me that the only thing they could do was an Oil Consumption Diagnostic Test which involved me having to bring the vehicle back to them, every so many miles to be checked and that I would have to pay to have it done because it was NOT covered under the warranty! I declined to have it done!Some may not understand this... but my fiancé and I are trying to raise three kids, provide for them and each other on top of bills and other everyday necessities, on very low income! It is a constant struggle for us just to keep our heads above the water and keep from drowning! We are trying to survive in todays world the best we can, and we did NOT have that extra money to pay to have that test done, nor the time to keep taking the vehicle back to them every so many miles to be checked! No one knows our situation but us, and we decided that we just couldnt do it and declined to have it done! So here I was... in debt for this vehicle that I hadnt had very long... that I kept having the same repetitive problem with over and over again! So this issue continued on!Some days it would run fine, then other days it would do the awful noise making and trying to quit on me... and we were still having to put oil in it about once a week… sometimes every two weeks! This past August we went on vacation with family, and of course my fiancé, kids and I were going to all go in the Equinox! We took the vehicle and had it serviced... oil change, and other things before we left! We went on vacation and the vehicle drove just fine there and back! About a month after we got back from vacation, I got in the vehicle to come to work one morning and it started making the same noise AGAIN as soon as I started it up! Only this time it was much worse! I mean it was SO loud that when I stopped to get breakfast and the bank to deposit my payroll check that I had to turn the vehicle off just so I could hear over the intercom! I mean it sounded so bad I just thought the motor was gonna blow right then and there!I made it to work and my fiancé called a different dealership that many people had recommended to us, and told them the problems we were having and asked if they could get it in to look at it! We had already decided that we were NOT dealing with the original dealership anymore because of the issues in the past and the poor customer service and rudeness that came along with it! This other dealership was not local, like the one we purchased it from, but we were told so many good things about them and I had known of several people that purchased vehicles from them and always had good luck, so thats why we decided to go with a different dealership this time!!! They were very nice to my fiancé, and tried to get the vehicle in as soon as possible to look at it! This was on a Thursday and they made us an appointment to bring the vehicle on the following Monday morning!My fiancé went and got THREE quarts of oil to put in the vehicle, thinking maybe that would quiet it down or at least keep it going until we could get it to the other dealership that following Monday! It got me home from work that night, and that next morning my fiancé got in it to take the kids to school, and he calls me and he says I really dont know if I’m going to make it back home in this thing, it sounds like its just going to blow any minute, and it will barely go up hills! He did make it home. And the second he pulled in the driveway the motor blew up! It was done for! Wouldnt do anything... Now what to do???We knew that we were going to have to have the vehicle towed no matter where we took it, and the dealership we had the appointment with the following Monday was a good ways away, and we didnt want an outrageous towing bill, so we decided to call the original dealership back... seeing how it was just 10 minutes away, and told them what had just happened! The guy my fiancé spoke with was very rude! Which was nothing new, because they had always been rude to us over the vehicle! He told my fiancé that it would be at least 3 to 4 weeks before they could even get the vehicle inside the garage to even look at it, because they were busy and shorthanded! He made it VERY clear that we would have to pay the tow bill and have it towed to them (which I knew that!). Im thinking... 3 to 4 weeks before they can even look at it??? What am I going to do!?So we call General Motors and we tell them the situation, and ALL the problems we have had with it, and they were very cooperative! They started a case and gave us a case number! Come to find out, they have had MANY issues with the Equinoxs. There was even a special coverage adjustment on it due to... Excessive Oil Consumption... and we were under the impression that they were going to help us out and do something about it, considering that was probably a big part in why the motor was blew up now!!! We were told that in order for them to start the case that we would HAVE to take it to the dealership we purchased it from and go through them... because right off the bat we asked if we could have it taken somewhere else!!!We were told that they would be contacting the dealership and let them know what was going on and that the vehicle would need to be towed over to the dealership and that they would be getting back in touch with us soon! We had the vehicle towed over to the dealership and the manager in the service department told us right of the bat that it was going to be awhile before they could even get in in the garage but he would try to get to it as soon as he could! They did give us another vehicle to drive! At first General motors was very cooperative and concerned over our issue and kept in contact with us, and then it was like... nothing! We would go a week or longer without hearing anything from the lady at GM that was handling our case, or the dealership!My fiancé and I would call and call GM trying to get through to the lady handling our case and we would get told Shes on the other line with another call, but Im sending a message through to her right now and she will get back with you as soon as possible! Or we would leave her messages on her voice mail and still never hear anything back from her! This was an everyday thing!!! We contacted the dealership to see if they had spoke with GM or knew what was going on and the manager at the service department was very rude with my fiancé and informed him that it looked to them as if the vehicle had been neglected and not kept up on its regular oil changes and that he wanted documentation where we had the oil changed in the vehicle!I do believe his exact words were And I dont mean some receipts from your buddies down to the local mechanic shop either. I want documentation from an actual dealership where they changed the oil in it!!! Okay... every car I have ever owned in my 30 years, my father or fiancé has changed the oil in them 90% of the time! So how was I going to get documentation from an actual dealership for an oil change... and why is it even the dealership’s say so on what we need to show them when GM motors is the one handling the case!? Because its not up to GM if the vehicle gets fixed, Im the one who has the say-so was the answer I got from the manager at the service department! So we try to contact GM and the lady handling our case. AGAIN to see what in the world is going on!When we finally got through to her, we told her what the dealership was telling us, and that we needed documentation from a dealership where we have had the oil changed, and how we change the oil ourselves, and how confused we were because we thought GM was calling the shots, but manager at the service department said he was! She told us that she understand that we changed our own oil, but if we COULD to try and get receipts where we have had it changed in the past or purchased the oil ourselves... and that they didnt understand why the dealership was making such a big deal over it because GM were the ones replacing the motor NOT the dealership!!!Then we get told from the dealership that GM doesnt pay to replace the motor... They replace the motor and then GM will reimburse them back, and that he (the manager at the service department) is the one that has to sign his name off to do that, and he couldnt until we turned him in receipts where we had the oil changed because to them it looked like we neglected the vehicle and it was our fault, and if GM decided not to reimburse them back, then they are the ones out thousands of dollars!!! Then we get told by GM that they dont handle it that way! They SEND the dealership the new motor so they didnt know why the dealership was making such a big deal over it!I go through this back and forth ** for about a week... and in the meantime my fiancé goes to a couple auto stores here in town to see if they would have any receipts where we purchased oil, and that was a no-go because he was told that their computer systems didnt keep records of oil purchases! They had records of other stuff we purchased... windshield wipers, filters etc. but not of oil! I know of a couple times we purchased oil from Walmart, so I even went on my Walmart app where I scan my receipts to get rewards back, and I still couldnt find anything, once my father purchased the oil and oil filter and changed it in his garage, but he didnt have the receipts! I could come up with one receipt showing where we had the oil changed back in August before we went on vacation!The lady at GM told me to fax it to her and she gave me all the info and I faxed it right away! She was supposed to contact us back the following day after she received the receipt, and did not! We went a week without hearing anything back from them! We called time after time, leaving her voice messages and being told shes not at her desk right now, but we will give her the message that its urgent and that you need to speak to her right away! Still wouldnt hear anything back! One afternoon I was out washing the rental car that the dealership had loaned me, and my fiancé calls to tell me that the dealership just called him and told him that if we didnt have some documentation where we changed the oil by Friday that we needed to return their rental car and that they were gonna shove mine out back!!!My fiancé had told the manager that we already faxed the receipt over to the lady handling our case at GM but she hadnt contacted us back, and once again he told fiancé, that HE wanted the receipts, they were the ones that called the shots!!! I was SO upset when he called and told me, that I wanted to take the rental car back over to them right then and there before they tried to say I mistreated their vehicle! I was SO upset and tired of getting the run-a-around over this damn vehicle that was blew up and that I still had to make the monthly payment on, that had been sitting over there to the dealership for almost a month now... that I just lost it! I sat on the back porch and just cried my eyes out, and I will never forget my 6 year old son coming and sitting down beside me and patting me on the back and telling me Dont cry mommy, we will get your car fixed... and when I get older Ill go buy you a new, better car!We contacted GM again and told them how the dealership was treating us and that we were SO confused on who was the one that was supposed to be handling this, because were getting told something totally different than what they were telling us! The lady at GM said she would contact the dealership and just to wait on taking the rental car back that day and she would figure out what was going on and get back with us the next day!!! Well that next day came, and Friday (when they told me to bring their car back if I couldnt provide them receipts) and the weekend... and Monday and we STILL never got a call back from the lady at GM nor the dealership! Tuesday evening around 3:30 the dealership calls and says they want their rental car back now! I take the rental car back over to them and at this point Im beyond and over the hill furious!My fiancé and I walk in the service department to give the keys back to the manager and he wants to know if we have those receipts for him!? I explained to him that... No. I did not. I faxed it over to Canedra (the lady handling the case) like I was told to! I started digging in my purse and luckily I still had the receipt in my purse! I gave it to him, and he immediately gets rude and starts shaking his head and tells us That’s unexpectable! We explained to him all the trouble we had went through to try and come up with some receipts where we purchased oil because we change the oil ourselves and we had no luck, but he didnt care one bit! I explained to him that Canedra (at GM) told us that it didnt really matter if we had records or not, so I was confused to as why he was even making such a big deal out of it!His exact words were I dont care who you talked to. One day you can get Shanequa... and the next you could get Tom. You aint talking to the right person, you need to call them and tell them YOU need to talk to someone in the US... because when you call them they’re sending you to someone overseas that dont know what they’re talking about! I told him that we would go out in the parking lot and call them right then and there! He said You need to tell them that they need to contact ME as of last month, because I got your vehicle sitting back there taking up space and we’re about ready to shove it out back! My fiancé and I go straight out into the parking lot and call GM... and OF COURSE we get told Shes not at her desk right now, but Im sending her a message right now to get back with you ASAP! We demanded to speak to someone NOW!My fiancé told her that we we’re standing out front of the dealership and they were needing to know something NOW, as well as us too! After about 10 minutes we finally got through to her! We told her what was going on and asked if she had got the receipt we faxed a week ago?! She told us she did, and that she was going to put us on hold and call the manager there at the service department now! We were on hold forever, and we knew the service station was closing soon so we decided to head back home, and my fiancé phone had went dead anyhow!We get halfway home and after trying to call the lady back 50 times she finally calls us back to tell us that she just spoke with the manager at the service department and he says that there was black sludge in the oil filter, and that we had neglected the vehicle and that was why it was in the shape it was in and the one receipt we had was not enough, so unfortunately they werent going to be able to replace the motor! My fiancé asked her... So even though the vehicle has a recall, or is under some extended warranty due to excessive oil consumption, which has probably led the vehicle to the shape its in, you’re telling me there is absolutely nothing you can do because the manager at the dealership told you we neglected the car and because we could only provide one receipt where we changed the oil???She replied Yes sir unfortunately so... He says there is some kind of black sludge due to not changing the oil, and the one receipt isnt enough proof! My fiancé asked her if there was some kind of law stating that we had to take our vehicles to an actual dealership to have an oil change and get documentation!? And she replied No sir there is no law! We both were just SO upset and mad that he just hung up on her and turned around to head back to the dealerships service station but they had already closed! I just cried the whole way home! Thinking... what am I going to do!? I have no vehicle. I havent had one for a month now. And its all up to me to fix it now! I went and talked to my father about it, because I didnt know what to do and needed his advice since his name was on the loan as well!He advised me to look into the Lemon Law... so I did! In the meantime I called the dealership to ask them where the vehicle was because I needed to have it towed back to the house until I figured out what to do. I didnt know if they still had it in the shop or had already shoved it out back like he said! He told me that yes it out back AND before they could even release the vehicle to us that I needed to take care of my bill for 600 dollars where they tore the motor apart to diagnose the problem and put it back together! Which I wasnt aware of... but he said I was because I signed a paper that stated that! Okay. Not only do I not have a vehicle but I just had to make the monthly payment on it which was 300 dollars but NOW I gotta come up with 600 dollars just to get the keys and have it towed outta there! In the meantime someone contacted me from a law firm through the Lemon Law website I went on!They told me I needed to get all the information on the vehicle and a copy of the warranty and all documentation that the dealership had record of from previous times I had the vehicle to them! So I did... only to get told that where I declined to have the oil consumption diagnostic test done before, that they wouldnt look into my case! What do I do now? My father called over to the dealership to tell them the vehicle was gonna have to sit for a while because I was still trying to come up with the 600 dollars to pay them! He asked them how much it would cost for them to just replace the motor, and for a new motor from GM 2 year warranty I do believe it was going to be around 7 thousand dollars, BUT they called around and found a used one with low mileage for 2,500! As of now mine had around 88,000 miles on it! I put a little 20,000 miles on it from the time I bought it!My father and I decided to just try and pay to have a used motor put in it because there was no way either one of us could come up with 7 thousand dollars for a new motor! We went to the bank where the loan was through and tried to have it refinanced, and get an extra 3000 to get it fixed, and that was a no go! We went to several other places to try and get a loan even just until I got my tax return in a few months and was able to pay it back and nowhere would help us out, as I stated before... My credit is not good, and my father’s debt to ratio was too much! What do I even do now? I’ve been without a vehicle for over a month, still making the payments on it and the motor is blew up, and I cant even get the money to fix it!I was in such a mess over this vehicle and so upset and stressed out on top of other things going on in my life that the only thing I could think of to do is file bankruptcy... So I made an appointment with a lawyer and gathered up all the information I needed to take to my appointment, and one of the things I had to do was get my credit report and write down everything I owed! When I looked at my credit report I noticed that the loan for the vehicle wasnt even showing up, and that was the whole reason I was going to file bankruptcy. Come to find out, my name isnt even on the loan! Just my father’s name. So thats a no go!So NOW it has been almost 2 months since I have been without a vehicle and dealt with all this **, and its still sitting over to the dealership in their building out back, with no way of getting it fixed until February or March when I get my tax return, and this WHOLE mess has now become all on my poor father (which just found out he has skin cancer on his nose) because the vehicle is only in his name! I have never in my life been in such a situation where I feel so helpless and like a total failure! I dont even know what to think, or say or even do about this mess! Im clueless! Thats my experience with GM Motors!

After it ran into my camp trailer twice and putting a hole in the back of my garage wall it was a safety issue for my family! Dealership did everything they could - no issues with them! They even submitted a request for GM to buy the truck back. GM said no and they wanted to waste more time working on it. I ended up trading it in before it ran someone over. Now GM says you dont own it any more so we wont help with any cost... GM DID NOTHING during the 8 months it was in the shop. Why start now. I was told every step GM is here for you. NOPE! all I got was, were sorry, and we will get back to you. 1 week, 2 weeks later nothing!!! We will get you free oil changes. Nope! Never completed a thing they said they would. If I could give -1 star I would!

I have had warranty work 4 times and a recall once in 3 years 9 months. It is in its 3rd water pump. I have 85,000 km on the vehicle (52,000 miles). I asked the agent if he used an upgraded water pump since they were prone to failure. He said he did not know and that they were not prone to failure. (It is all over the internet - they leak from the shaft seal. Both mine did. It is unreasonable to expect to have to replace it every 2 years).I have lost many (uncompensated) days use of this vehicle waiting for warranty work. (The last time the pump went on June 26 & the dealer would not even look at it till July 6. I was vehicleless the entire time. The dealer does not provide a replacement until after they confirm warranty work is needed but then do not look to confirm such for many days). The first time I was vehicleless it was for several days too but I cannot confirm for how many. I have had other issues and now I am just frustrated.

I went to Beck service department in Palatka to have my transmission looked at on my Chevy Silverado 2500 6.0, it started slipping last week out of OD when going uphill and wouldnt go back into OD, I had to pull over, put the car in park, shut it off, let the computer reset, turn back on then be on way and it would be fine until next hill. My truck shifted smoothly in all gears and sounded fine until I got it back from the transmission check. Now the shifting is hard. Almost impossible from park to reverse and back to park and other gears are hard shifting transmission was not running hot. Now it is and someone apparently used inside driver door panel to yank door closed causing issues there. Now door sounds like tin can closing when window down, not to mention the vibration it has that it didnt have before bad and when it does shift from park to reverse the whole truck jerks and whining sound, vibration in the accelerator pedal and shaking as if they adjusted the shift linkage wrong but service check was only for that a check $85 but something happened even if it were in the test drive and it was shifted improperly or ran too hard at high RPM. Now the tranny is worse than before. I needed it to hold out for a while but they did it in now. Im screwed $4000. They say for new one because of tcc and say metal in tranny. But was still drivable. Now not so much, I contacted the service department they are refusing responsibility of doing anything and it is much much worse. Since I picked it up they claim they didnt do anything to the transmission. I didnt have problems shifting before. PLEASE HELP!!!

In January I had to have my timing belts replaced (under warranty), then in April there was a issue with the motor using too much oil. They had to replace half the motor (which was under a special warranty). Fast forward to last week, the transmission went!!! I took it back to the dealership just to find out that the 5 yr warranty had expired in the beginning of the month (never knew this was only good from the first time it was bought off the lot.) The dealership was able to get GM to cover a portion of it but I would still have to pay $1600 out of pocket. I feel that they should cover more than that stating all the issues I have been having.I called GM and spoke with a Kathy. She pretty much told me that I should be grateful that they are helping me at all and I can either take the offer or leave it. And that I should discuss with my family the best choice for us as the consumer. Appalling customer service, when asked to speak to someone higher up she told me that she was pretty high up and the decision is already made. I will never buy another Chevy. Buyer beware!

On May 1st, I parked the car at work and when I went move it again, it would not go into gear. I had to get a tow truck and take it to the GMC dealership. They said they didnt have any loaners and I had no way of getting home. So, I found a car rental (only place in town) and all they had was a Chrysler van so I took it. The dealership said it was a bad transmission and replaced it on May 4. When I picked up my car, I asked about covering the cost of the rental. They asked what type of car I rented. I said Chrysler and they said it had to be another GMC. At that time, when they didnt have a loaner, nobody said you had to rent another GMC. When I got the car home, I noticed I had transmission fluid on the floor, so I had to take it back again on May 7 (no car for the weekend). They said they forgot the seal kit and were able to repair it the same day. On 7-20, coming to work, the transmission started to sound funny. Halfway to work, it would go into 1st gear. I had to drive to the dealership doing 35 mph, late for work. I did get a loaner car this time. Out of all the new cars I have bought (Chryslers), I have never had transmission problems and now I have two bad transmissions. Whats the chance of that? This vehicle is costing me time and money. I bought a new vehicle so I wouldnt have these problems. The company I work for supplies parts for this vehicle and you demand 0 defects. Im not sure why you would treat your customer this way!

The first time I went to King GM, the customer service representative told me the GM doesnt cover sheet metal. After taking my vehicle to two auto body repair shops, one of them said that the vehicles in that model year were, in fact, covered by a rust through warranty. Checking my owners manual, it does state that rust through is covered for 6 years or 100,000 miles. I have a little over 33,000 miles on my vehicle, and we are well within the 6 year time frame.I went back to King GM and contacted John **, the service manager, from King GM in Longmont, Co. He took pictures of the problem and sent it to a regional specialist who promptly rejected the claim. It was then forwarded to a DMA who chimed in with the same rejection. I would like to know why someone who has actually seen the problem refers to it as a rust through problem, yet the GM people see a picture and reject any resolution. Please contact me with a resolution at your earliest convenience.

This is my first SUV and I have only had it for about a month. It rides nice. There is a lot of room in there and I like being able to sit up high. Its comfortable and the seats have lumbar support. The heat works very well and the radio sounds good too. The only thing I dont like is that it is bright red and also that the clear coat is peeling off on the front passenger side. Also the headlights are kind of cloudy.

Which I think in my professional opinion it should have been a hard plastic that repels and prevents water intrusion and moisture from getting in the engine area department etc. Also for the tow hitch you have to remove the plastic panel in order to install a tow hitch that completely exposes the structure of the bumper which it looks awful. It should be a trim nicely around the tow hitch. Also you dont get any TVs nor USB MP3 configuration, the navigation is not accurate.

I love the truck but it’s financed so I have no choice but to keep repairing the things that go wrong. In less than 120k miles it got: rear struts, AC lines and condenser, and an ENGINE. Yes an entire replacement engine due to spinning a lifter and wiping out the cam leaving debris throughout the engine. No wonder there are so many used engines available. Plastic lifter guides, cheap terrible design. Wife and I were looking to upgrade her Cruze (which also got a new transmission at 87k miles) with a new Blazer. Between both our GM vehicles and the tons spent to repair them we went with the Nissan Murano instead. I have always been a die hard Chevy guy but I will never buy another new one as long as I live.

A couple months later I pulled into Casper Buick GMC Cadillac (“CASPER GMC”) and was told that 2 injectors had failed but they would be covered 100% by my warranty. Therefore, I approved the work. Later when I went to pick up my truck they told me it would not be covered by warranty and that I needed to personally pay them $2,231.04 or they would not give me my keys or release my truck to me.For two months since then, I’ve made repeated unsuccessful attempts to get a satisfactory resolution and have experienced:(i) Repeated broken promises from Matt **, of CASPER GMC and from and Jay from GM Customer Care (“GM”) to get back to me;(ii) CASPER GMC’s and GM’s willful disregard of the promises made to owners like me in GM’s Factory Power Train Warranty;(iii) CASPER GMC’s repeated and unwarranted refusal to file my warranty claim with GM, despite the fact that my truck is still under GM Factory Warranty for both the injectors (GM Factory Power Train Warranty), and the connector wires (GM Genuine Parts Warranty); and(iv) I was told by Jay at GM Customer Care that if I sought guidance from my attorney, even if such guidance did not include my filing suit, he would no longer be able to speak with me about this issue.(v) I was told by Casper GMC to contact GM Customer Care and was told by GM Customer Care to contact Casper GMC.Casper GMC and GM Customer Care do a good job of watching each other’s back but totally ignore the backs of customers like me.If this sounds like fun to you, please go straight to Casper GMC and buy a truck. They were suppose to dismantle the entire truck and powder coat the frame. The body shop manager said regional manager oked the work. After finally talking to the regional guy, I found the body shop manager was lying. I was told my truck would be fixed. But they did not know how or when. I was told they would call me on Monday. That was over a week and a half ago. I have heard nothing. The rust is so severe I do not feel safe in the truck. I do not want to put my family or my employees in the truck for the fear of failure. I expressed this concern to the body shop manager and regional manager Rich **, he said it was safe even though he had never seen my truck - only pictures of it. I need resolution ASAP. I told ** I need a vehicle to drive until he decides what the solution is. Because my family does not feel safe in the truck. He laughed and he refused the rental. How I was on the phone with ** and talking to the body shop manager. The conversation was getting heated. The owner of the dealership Mr Green was in the same room. Never asked what the issue was, how he help nothing. He was talking to contractor doing remodeling. He was even trying to talk over our conversation. This dealership does not represent GM very well. I have called the service manager 5 times, still have never heard a thing from him in the last 6 weeks. I have even went to dealer three time to talk to him - he is never around. His name Byrd. I need this issue resolved. I need a rental or a dealer loaner until they find a solution. Or just pay me the sticker price for my truck, I will go else where. Please respond.

Three weeks ago, check engine, StabiliTrak, and loss of engine power lights started coming on while idling at stop signs and lights and experiencing stalls at same stop signs and lights. Husband checked and even though the check oil light was not on, there was virtually no oil in the car, added 2 quarts. Took car in for service. Dealer said it was a stretched timing chain and fuel pump needed to be replaced. Take home and return the following Monday when parts are in. When they went to do the service, engine was found to have lots of metal in it and needed to be replaced at our cost as warranty is out. Dealer offered no other options.GM says they can offer no assistance as the engine was not torn down. Dealer then offered a 10% discount on labor. The engine is still costing me $3,900 plus tax etc. I am appalled that GM is making me pay as this the car was regularly serviced. An engine should not fail at less than 66,000. Customer service has pretty much said suck it up. We will never purchase GM again. Four of our last 6 vehicles have been GM cars and I feel really stupid that we purchased a 2015 Chevy Equinox for our childrens use last year.

Gas gauge issue is still not resolved. Requested a GM buyback of vehicle three weeks ago. (Truck has under 1000 miles on it) Have finally heard back from GM and they agree to buy back the truck. Now I have to figure out what to buy. Note: I also leased a 2019 Traverse LT for my wife the same day. I am thinking that these will be my last GM products.

He again asked if I was putting anything down. I told him no. He asked if I could put at least $1500 down. I again, said no that I couldnt. He said why dont we do a 7-day promissory agreement. If you have the $1500 within 7 days great, if not we can void this and do another contract.” I said that was fine, still standing firm to my no.” I signed contracts and the transferring of Insurance. I had full coverage on my Equinox so I drove off the lot with Full Coverage on my 2015 Cruze. The next day I got a text from Russ ** that stated I needed to come back by the dealership that they worked up a better deal for me. Happy and Excited, I went there. I met with Gabe ** again and he stated that he pulled the deal with the Lender and found a second lender that gave me a better rate. I said “oh, that’s great!” I brought up that I needed to sign a new contract because I wasnt going to be able to come up with the $1500. Then Gabe stopped... He said that he was going to have to talk to his boss because he put down for the new lender that I WAS putting the $1500 down. Gabe asked me if I could get a personal loan for $1500, he asked me if I could borrow the money from my family, and he also asked if I could just pay $200 here or there for 6 months to cover the $1500. Gabe left 4 times to speak to his boss (I did not catch his name) because I was adamant that I was not paying that. Gabe went behind my back without me giving him a definite answer on the $1500. He was in the wrong and I felt that I should not have paid that. At this point I was in tears because he had me feeling like I could not leave until I gave him a “Yes, I will pay it.” I was texting my husband throughout this whole ordeal. Finally my husband asked for Gabe to call him. Finally I told Gabe he needed to call my husband. When my husband was on the phone with Gabe I walked outside because I was starting to have an anxiety attack! When I came back in I stood at the doorway where I could not be seen. I overheard Gabe telling my husband that legally I could not leave because I had no insurance on the new vehicle!!! When in fact I did! I signed the form because I HAD full coverage, AND I had already contacted my insurance company and gave them the new Lender information! I was hysterical. I had already drove the car home and everything! My husband then asked to speak to Gabe’s boss who came in. Gabe’s boss walked into something that he had no idea what the hell was going on! So the 4 times that Gabe left to speak to his boss, where was he really going? His boss was informed of the promissory agreement and that I was told I could not legally leave. The boss looked at Gabe and said Gabe is this true? And Gabe said yes. The boss looked at me and said that I could go home. I left hysterical and irate! I almost called the police and an attorney for this. This has been the worst car buying experience EVER! So moving on my husband got a call the next day stating that they redid the deal but we still needed to put $400 down. WHY? I am still upset that we still paid that. I don’t know why we had to pay that. Gabe made this mistake and Gabe did this to himself. I told them I was not going to put any money down at all and still ended up putting $400 down.All of this happened August 31 to Sept 3rd. On Sept 21 I received a text from Gabe stating that my husband and I had to sign a form because my husband’s name was on the title to the old car. I refinanced that about a year or so ago so his name should not have been on the title or loan. I contacted my bank and turns out that when I refinanced it through the same bank, they did not remove my husband’s name. So... that tells me, the car should not have been sold to me in the first place without my husband being there to sign for it as well! Anyhow, I received yet another text from the salesman Russ ** stating Hey Kym, when you get the survey from GM make sure you answer each question Satisfied and when I get that survey Ill fill you up with some gas. That to me is bribery. I gave a very poor review when I got the survey from Country Chevrolet. And I have not received one from GM yet. When and IF I do get one, I will not lie and give any satisfied answers. I was very DISSATISFIED. I would not recommend anyone to go there to get a new vehicle. It takes $26.00 to fill my gas tank up and lying on this survey is not worth a free tank of gas! I felt that I was being taken advantage of because I am a woman who they must have thought I was stupid! My husband saved me from this. And how DARE Gabe ask me to get a personal loan or to borrow the money from family. That is NOT something that man should have asked! He did this! So if anything he should have paid for that or taken it out of his commission. I do not trust anyone there. I will have my car taken somewhere else for work to be done to it. This should have been a very fun and exciting experience for me. Instead it was a complete freaking nightmare. Turns out I’m not the only one Gabe screwed over either. I work with a girl who bought a car from there a week prior to me and he cashed a started check that he was supposed to hold and he ended up overdrawing her account and the salesman paid the overdraft fees AND a tank of gas out of his own pocket! I sure hope something comes from this. I will however contact my attorney regarding this. Paying the $400 dollars is something that should not have come from us since GABE MADE THIS MISTAKE.

In October when I bought the vehicle there was a problem with the steering and I mentioned to the sale guy and manager several times. Finally after many tries they decide to fix the steering. A month of owning the vehicle, the air went out. I went back and was told it, they have to fix two issues, one with the fan where there is a short in the wiring and the other was a hose from the compressor to condenser. Originally it was going to cost me $984 and the Sales manager took off about $200 which made it around $761. I called GM and file a complaint with them and the Service manager Michael called me and offer a 20% discount to fix both issues which made it $561. I called GM and express my concern and received another call from Michael where he advised me that he fixed the issue with the fan sometime back and didnt charge me but he had to still pay his tech. Now that I am getting the air fix he includes that charge for what they fixed at the time as no charge, but now there is a charge. On my invoice only showed the air being fixed. I need an invoice that shows the work that was done. Also, I will file a complaint with Consumer Affairs and BBB. I will never recommend anyone to come to this dealer.

Have use my one month insurance rental up and have been without a truck which I use to pull my boat to make a living. I have used and exhausted all remedies which include calling my insurance company to get extension, Going to the dealer and calling GMC to get something to drive with a no from each of them. They cant give me a timeline for a part to come in. Its not my fault GM is on strike and Im being held hostage for this part. I have bought 3 trucks in 3 years and will never buy a GM again. Another note hit a concrete pole doing around 40 mph. Broke the windshield with my head and the airbag didnt deploy. 18k in damages which includes frame damage. Oil change was completed on 6-30-2018. As of 11-20-2018, I have still not received my $30 rebate. Every time I call the 844-656-5369 rebate center phone number, I am given another excuse that will delay the distribution by 4 more weeks. There is no regard for customer service or a sense of urgency. This is my second experience with GM Service Rebates with the same results. Numerous calls are required resulting in extended delays. GM should honor distribution of the rebate in the advertised 8 week time frame. If I am lucky this time, I may receive the rebate within 25 weeks. Handling rebates in this way does not provide an incentive to service my Buick at the dealership.

I purchased a 2015 Silverado in December 2015. Advertised MPG is 17/18 City and 21 HWY. According to my calculations AND the truck computer, it averages less than 11 MPG and has never averaged more than 12-13. Even on a long trip, the best MPG I have ever gotten has been in the 14 range. I took it to my dealer and was told that this is consistent with many trucks they see while others get better gas mileage; apparently lots of variation. Important to note that GM has been sued via class action on many other categories of vehicles for the exact same issue and has had to pay large settlements to owners.I also have a very expensive feature that I paid for called Radio Time shift. It is a DVR in the radio... one can rewind any radio station up to 15 minutes if you do not change the channel to listen to songs again. The feature does not work. Took to dealer and was told that there is no fix for the problem, in fact GM has a bulletin PIC6110B: Timeshift Audio Playback Choppy Distorted. Apparently, this is a widespread problem. This Time shift feature / option was removed from all GM models the following year (2017).

I purchased a certified used 2016 Chevrolet Malibu in March 2017 that was still under factory and powertrain warranty. My vehicle has been in the shop over 11 times since then with 8 of the repairs pertaining to the transmission. The vehicle has almost because multiple accidents on the interstate, caused me to miss a flight, caused me to be stranded in a variety of cities on multiple occasions where I have had to book hotel rooms and spend unnecessary money.I have had a new engine put in my car, my transmission has been repaired twice, rebuilt twice, and replaced once, among many other minor repairs. On May 11th, my vehicle broke down on the highway while I was on my way to my college graduation. I was stranded 3 hours from my home and 2 hours from my destination. It was towed to the Orange Park Chevrolet Dealership where it remained until today, June 6th for another transmission issue. A case was opened for me with the GM Business Resource Center and Daniel was my case manager. After 1 week of my car being in the shop, I was presented with 2 offers. They would do an equal trade or buy my vehicle back. Of course there are calculations involved and I was told I would be charged a usage fee for the mileage that I have put on the vehicle, but Daniel could not know the figures yet. He asked me to fax both the service receipts for all of my repairs and my buyer’s agreement. I obliged and confirmed via VM that I had sent everything he had requested.He then called me back a week later to ask if I had a chance to send the paperwork. Once I told him I had done so last week he said he must have overlooked it and confirmed her now had it in front of him and would calculate everything. He also requested a copy of my registration. I told him that my registration was located in my vehicle that was 3 hours away. I suggested we contact the dealership that it was at and have them fax it to him. He said he would call them. The next day, the dealership called me to tell me my vehicle was ready for pickup and that they needed their loaner back. I was shocked, because I was under the impression that I would not be placed back into a faulty and dangerous vehicle. I called Daniel and could not get a hold of him, so I spoke to a supervisor. She told me I had to return the loaner and that my vehicle would still be eligible for repurchase, but that the entire process takes a few weeks. When I asked her what would happen if I break down again or crash during my 3 hour commute home, she said she would “cross her fingers and hope for the best”.On Tuesday, June 5th, Daniel called me to tell me that the buyer’s agreement I sent him on May 24th did not match their system. He couldn’t tell me exactly what did not match, but that they need to get the paperwork from the dealership I purchased it from. Daniel and I got into a heated debate about him sending me to collect all types of paperwork, yet he wasn’t doing his part. He continued to talk over me and blame me because I had not gotten him the registration even though he knew I could not. I mentioned that I should get an attorney and we were disconnected.I picked my vehicle up today, June 7th. Upon pickup, I realized my entire backseat, back floor, and trunk was full of mold. The dealership said I must have had a leak, but it is not their fault. They did add it to the comments on my repair order, but would not do anything about it. I had to drive home for 3 hours in the Florida heat with my windows down because the mold was burning my eyes, throat, and nose.I called GM today, June 7th to request that the mold issue be notated on my case and I was informed that Daniel closed my case on June 6th because I have an attorney. I never once said I was being legally represented nor did I request or agree to the case closure. My case is currently in the legal dept. Why would it be closed? Also, why would a supervisor not call me back. Daniel and I cannot communicate effectively and a supervisor should have stepped in. Your employees shouldn’t speak or blame their customers as he did me. Especially when I have been more than accommodating to all of his requests. As I was on the phone with a GM rep, my engine light came back on. So now my car is again shifting hard, the engine light is back on, and my vehicle is molded out.I have been requesting to speak to a supervisor in the legal department other than Daniel since Tuesday to no avail. This entire ordeal has been pure hell, from purchase to current. My car is in the shop on average, every 1k miles. The repairs have been in the thousands. I still have 35k miles of powertrain warranty. Wouldn’t it be a smarter business choice to just settle this case as they have already put more into my car than it is worth and will continue to have to repair anything powertrain related? As a corporation, why do they feel comfortable treating their customers this way?

After 100,000 mile warranty, had to replace def tank as injector quit working. On trip to Texas, check engine light appeared, dealership could not find problem. Charged me $729 to tell me exhaust system needed to be replaced, cost $5,000, and would not be ready by the time we needed to leave for home. Service manager recommended a diesel repair shop, which did replace truck computer and altered exhaust system. Severe glow plugs later, plus back up sensors being replaced. Final blow was after moving cattle from one pasture to another appox. 3 hours away, a knock developed in the engine. Was able to get home and to our local service garage. Transmission removed to find a broken crankshaft. Cost expected to be $20,000 plus. This is my second Duramax diesel, first was a 2003, which I experienced 8 different occasions replacing injectors at GMs dealership. Each glow plug was replaced at least once. One blew out the head the second time, had to leave a trailer along side the road and had to be towed in. Final blow, check engine light came on, dealership said injector pump going out. Traded in for 2012, which has been as much expensive and troublesome as the 2003. GOODBYE, GMC!!!

My father is 87 years old and leased a 2015 Buick Lacrosse as he had faithfully either purchased or leased General Motors cars for decades. Unfortunately, he has been diagnosed with cancer, was hospitalized and is now living in an assisted living facility in Cleveland, Ohio. His physician has recommended that he no longer drives due to him being a fall risk and just his overall decrease in acute motor skills, thus, enabling him to have the needed precision and rapid flexibility needed to drive effectively. As a result, my father turned his car in to General Motors only to be told, cancer or no cancer, unable to drive or not at now 87 years old, he still owes roughly $8,000 on the remainder of his lease and mind you the car has been sold or re-leased. To that end, General Motors will now receive double payment for a car my father can no longer drive.As his daughter, I think this is awful without regard for the plight of senior citizens. I think this is nothing less than highway robbery and greed on the part of General Motors. Why are they leasing cars to 87 year olds anyway without a clause that addresses acute illness or inability to drive by virtue of a doctors orders??? I believe General Motors should be ashamed of themselves for taking undue advantage of the elderly...but then again why should they care when the CEOs and CFOs responsible for making and executing leasing policy and procedures have been raking in money and reaping the benefits of million dollar bonuses forever... Bet you will not see one of them standing in a Walgreens line choosing between medication, food or assisted living rent while simultaneously paying for a sold, leased vehicle they no longer own... Way to go General Motors. Rape the elderly all the way to the bank!

I purchased my ‘16 Yukon in August of 2017 and by far this was the worst purchased I could’ve made. Since the day if purchase, I have to repair/replace the battery, motor mounts (~5 days after purchased), some plug for the transmission as the RPMs continuously revs up at highway speeds over 3000 rpms, several computer resets, the AC (2x), the weather strips around the door frame of the vehicle, fuel injection pump, and transmission. The truck often jerks forward while in low speeds almost causing me to rear end someone even while applying the brake. It seems as if I’m using an extensive amount of brake pressure as this truck is very unpredictable and unsafe. At times it has stuttered where it felt like I had no power while traffic causing vehicles to almost hit me. I’ve been told by the service department that they could not duplicate the issue. These concerns are very serious and definitely unsafe. It’s a shame that GM has taken the stance to ignore these issues.

GM cannot tell the dealership or the repair shop when the parts will be in and will not assist in putting me in a replacement vehicle in the interim. I started a claim within their customer service department at corporate and cannot get anyone to assist me or return my calls. I have been waiting over a month to speak to an actual person to help me. In the interim I have no vehicle and am out of pocket almost $5,000 in rental car fees. GM has forgotten the customer in customer service and as someone whose last 4 vehicles were GM, it is disappointing to see. I will not be a return customer anymore after this horrible ongoing experience. Stay away. They cannot meet the demand for parts on anything, nor do they care.

Our friends own a collision repair and conduct state inspections in Wallis, TX. Our friend told us our fuel pump was the cause. So, at this point, we decided to get it towed to the nearest Chevrolet dealership for repair. Traditions Chevrolet in East Bernard, TX is only 10 minutes away from where it stopped. Gordon was the service manager assisting us in the repair. He assured us that he would run a diagnosis on the vehicle. At that time, I made him aware of the two messages on the dash which read: Stability Ride Control and Tire Pressure Gauge. I also mentioned that our friend told us it was the fuel pump. He then again reassured us that he will run a diagnosis and will contact us with the results.When Gordon called four days later, he advised us that it was the PCM (computer) and it would need to be replaced. We agreed. Nine days later, he called advising us that the fuel pump will need to be replaced. We agreed. At that time, I reminded him of our conversation about what my friend said and his assurance he gave us about running a diagnosis. He then stated he needed to get the car running before he runs a diagnosis on the vehicle. I found out later that was not true. When we went to retrieve the vehicle, it was running loud. Gordon said it was hot (the weather) and it was the fans needing to run to cool it off. We went on down the road about two minutes. The noise persisted, and we decided to go back to the dealership. When I took my foot off the gas to turn around, I noticed the odometer was ticking down. When arriving back at the dealership, Gordon said he would need to keep it to look at the problem. We agreed, telling Gordon that we understood if a mistake was made and that we just want it to be repaired correctly.A few weeks later, he called and told us it was ready. Since I was busy, my husband went to retrieve it. In the commute back, he noticed that it was shaking when it gets to certain speeds. He also stopped to get gas, and the pump would stop as if the vehicle was full. When he pumped slowly, the gas would go in; but after a while, gas would spit out of the tank. After talking with my husband, we weighed our options. We decided to call GM to get help. We first spoke with FJ, explaining all the problems. He contacted Gordon. FJ called us back stating that Gordon said they have never serviced our vehicle. When letting FJ know we have receipts and would be happy to fax them to him, he explained the policies and could not get faxes from consumers. FJ told us he will do further checking and he would get back to us. After that, I spoke with several people at GM to no avail. My husband became ill so my attention was on him. About a month later, I contacted FJ again. He in turn sent me to Regina, a district specialist for GM. FJ explained that Traditions Chevrolet was in her district. When speaking to Regina, I explained the issues, all of them. She said that she would look into it and will call us back. Upon talking to Regina again, I asked for a refund for work on our vehicle and for the two-week rental we accrued. I explained that we live in approximation of one plus hour away from that dealership and we would prefer to take it to another dealership closer to our home and have Traditions Chevrolet to pay the other dealership. She in turn called Davis Chevrolet, and Mike (the service manager) told me that we would have to pay for diagnosis in an excess of $100. After a back and forth missing each others calls for about three weeks, she called and I explained what Mike told us and explained that we just paid Traditions Chevrolet $1230 and we have more problems than which we started. We just couldnt afford to spend any more money on Traditionss mistake. She called Traditions again and spoke with Mark, the new service manager. When speaking to Regina again, she assured me that we would be reimbursed for the rental and they would correct the problems which were caused because they warranty all their work. We drove to our friends in Wallis on Tuesday (10/8/12) to meet the service manager Mark. He brought us a car (Impala) to drive. On Friday (10/12/12), I spoke with Regina and she told me that any repair will be up to Mark, the service manager. After the call, I called Mark. Mark told me that the problems were not related to the repair and all the issues were a coincidence. I asked, If they replaced the fuel pump, then they had to drop the fuel tank. He said no and that all they have to do is take off a few screws. They dont touch the tank. He then told me that I was not totally forthcoming with him and all of these problems are because our vehicle is too old. He then began to laugh. When I asked him Is it funny? he continued to laugh. Preceding this call, I contacted Regina and left a message about Mark - the blatant rudeness, the statements he made and I wanted to speak with her supervisor. Today Monday (10/15/12), I spoke with Regina and have it all recorded. She was just as rude and obviously not willing to help. She stated that all decisions were up to the service manager.
