Ford Automobile Model 2026 Ford Escape
Despite everybody telling me not to buy a Ford, the 2016 Ford Explorer Sport fit my familys needs and we like the looks and performance of the vehicle so I bought one for my wife. On the way home from a day out celebrating Mothers Day with my family, the transmission went out on the freeway and we barely made it home. With only 4,000 miles on the vehicle, the transmission had to be replaced. In addition, the vehicle made a loud squeaking noise from the fans when you turn the car off, and the leather on the drivers seat is already starting to deform. The dealer fixed the transmission, but said there was nothing they could do about the seats or the fan squeak. They stated this was normal. I have owned a lot of cars in my life, and in no way is this normal.I then took the Explorer in for a routine oil change service, and the vehicle only had 5/32 left of tread on the tires. This seemed like very excessive wear for a brand new vehicle. A month or so later I took the vehicle back in to the dealer to have the tires looked at and they were down to 4/32. The dealer said that it was up to the tire manufacturer, and Hankook was only willing to prorate 25%. There is no way I should have to replace tires on a vehicle that is 1 year old with only 12K miles on it. Come to find out, Fords New Vehicle Warranty is also supposed to warranty the tires and should cover 60% of the cost. I called Ford Customer Relations and what a disaster they are. I went back and forth for with them for a month. They never called me back as they promised, and some of the reps were extremely rude.I finally get a supervisor who says that he worked it out with the dealership and that I will only need to pay $407.57 for new tires, and that Ford will take care of the rest. Not quite 60% but at this point, I just want to be done with this. I call the dealer and talk to the person I was told to ask for, and they know nothing about this. I have always tried to stay loyal to the domestic automakers, but I can see why people dont buy American cars. I understand stuff can happen to anything vehicle, but the service Ford has provided has been terrible. If they were great in handling these issues, I would be happy that at least the service was good and that they were taking care of their customer and standing behind their product. Clearly that is not the case and the stereotype about Ford poor quality and service is unfortunately true.
Have had 4 door latches break on my 2013 Fiesta. 2 of them broke while the car was moving. Service guys at Southwest Ford were wonderful. But when they turned me over to customer service lead Amelia **, I tried to call her for 2 weeks to find out what they were going to do. Never did hear back from her. Finally one of the other flunkies called me back and was so rude and short that I could not even talk to her. Now just found out my case is closed without ever hearing from anyone. I volunteered to take any of their families for a drive in my piece of crap car, but no one accepted the offer. Wonder why. Cannot wait to pay this pathetic vehicle down enough to trade it in. Ford is the most disappointing company I have ever had to deal with and will never make that mistake again. Not that I really expect anyone from Ford to read this. Case **. Pathetic cars and customer service.
I was driving down the freeway when there was a noise as if a gear had shifted and then the car stopped responding to the gas pedal and kind of went into neutral with no power. I was lucky I was close to an exit, so I took that and went off to the side but a line formed behind me. Luckily no one hit the car because there are so many who get off the freeway at high speeds. I called the local Ford and they said they will take a look tomorrow. Car is about 3 years old.
My Ford 500 has been at the Ford dealership in MA since November 17 (almost 2 months). I am told it has a transmission problem. The entire transmission needs to be replaced because CVT is not repairable. However, Ford is out of stock. They provided a Hertz rental for a month but today they called and said they will not cover the rental and have no answer when they will have the part! How can you sell a car and not provide parts? How can they just dump a customer who has been loyal to them for 32 years?
My 98 F150 had been parked beside the garage for two weeks. It ran fine with no issues. Then Monday morning about seven, the truck started on fire. Luckily, nothing else was burnt, but the truck is a total lost. If you own a Ford truck, sell it or get it to a dealer now.
I have been a Ford Customer for over 30 years and I will NEVER buy another Ford. Ford refuses to cover the corrosion that is spreading on the hood of my 2014 Explorer. Now the paint is starting to chip off as well. Ford is well aware of this issue with several Ford models and will NOT do anything about it. (The local Ford Body Shop Manager told me so.) The issue is due to inadequate prep work before painting the vehicle. I have been going back and forth with Ford for over 6 months. I even sent a letter to the Ford Board of Directors. Ford simply does NOT care. FORD DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR VEHICLES!At first Ford tried to say that the warranty is 3/36000 miles, but later admitted that the warranty is actually 5 years/unlimited miles. Then they stated: Corrosion Warranty covers body sheet metal panels against corrosion due to a defect in factory supplied materials or workmanship. Corrosion coverage only applies if the corrosion causes perforation (holes) in body sheet metal panels. Corrosion Warranty coverage begins at the warranty start date and lasts for five years, regardless of miles drive. This is a defect in factory workmanship!
I want to sue Ford because they dont want to fix the problem with the rattling notice. Now they give a letter that explain why the notice. They should had give to me before I got my Fiesta or explain to the people what they should expect after driving for few miles. I REALLY NEED TO SUE THEM. I dont want money I just want them to take their car back and give my $4000 for the down payment.
Ford Flex SE 4dr Crossover 2013 car and I am experiencing for the 2nd time a door ajar issue. I fixed one door already and now a 2nd door is having the issue. Not a big problem but it triggers the alarm to go off randomly. And of course it goes off in the middle of the night 2 am, 5 am, its 3 nights in a row!!! I chatted with Ford and they took my feedback and ignored my issue. Online there are tons people experiencing this issue and Ford does not care or do a recall or fix it!!! WOW. Such terrible service. I have been a Ford driver for 30 years but this will be my last Ford!!!
I have a 2010 XLT with the paint blistering down to bare metal on both sides of the truck. (pictures attached) I am seeing this on many of the trucks of this vintage in my town and they all look very similar. Ford wont do anything about this unless there is a perforation right through. This is clearly related to the paint not being prepped properly. I also had to have the bonnet on this truck painted after 6 months after buying it new because it was blistering behind the edge of the grill. I had a 1998 xlt with 300K on it and I drove it until 2010. The driving conditions were exactly the same and the paint had no issues. I had a guy at Ford tell me on the QT that some people are drilling holes in the problem area and letting it rust to get around Fords policy and fix it. I didnt want to do this so I talked to the dealer, contacted national reps from the US and Canada on this forum.... Big fat nothing.So... after 24 straight years of driving nothing but Ford trucks my new Ram will be here on Friday. IMO Fords quality has gone down and their policy on paint sucks. Sour grapes, you bet!!! Please reply if you have paint problems. I think this is a widespread problem Ford should be dealing with. Get out your drills boys if you want this fixed.
Thousands of customers have experienced problems with changing spark plugs. Changing spark plugs should be a simple maintenance job. Thousands of people including myself have had their spark plugs break and get stuck in the cylinder head. Ford settled a class action suit because of the defective spark plugs, but the majority of those affected by this problem never saw a dime. Now the consumer is stuck footing the bills for what should have been Fords responsibility. Ford charges $600 to change the spark plugs, and if they break, thats considered the customers problem and costs more money. Often the broken plugs cannot be removed and the customer has to buy all new heads. This problem is affecting thousands of Ford owners, who are unknowing about the problem until they are stuck with broken plugs. This should be Fords responsibility to fix, not on the consumer!!!
2014 Ford transit van - This car isnt even 2 years old and I noticed hundreds of small holes in the paint. Took it into the local Ford dealership to see if the warranty covers it and, WELL OF COURSE!! No, it isnt covered because it is supposedly due to rock damage from the roads, that none of our other (more used) cars have. In addition, the dealership will not put this into writing so that I can complain to the road people. Now, I read all over the internet where Ford simply has cheap and terrible paint for their vehicles. Will be the last one I buy.
ETA on repairing their FACTORY-WARRANTIED transmission is 2+ months. Why? Because the parts they need are backordered throughout the world. THATS how bad this problem is! The kicker? THEY REFUSE TO EVEN GIVE ME A LOANER. I have called every Ford number, every person, every dealer, complained (respectfully, never belligerent) as high as I can possibly go. They refuse to help. Zero. Nada. Nothing. What I have learned from all of this is that they (Ford) hate their customers.
Driving yesterday at 80 km/h, when huge thumping noise started. Thought that my right rear tire had come off. Stopped immediately, tire was still on. Got a couple of my mechanically minded friends to look at the vehicle, they thought it might be the hanger bearing on the 2 piece drive shaft that had failed.I drove it at 3 km/h to a local garage about 5 km away to diagnose it. They suggested that they replace the entire drive shaft with another where the u bolts and the hanger bearing can be replaced. Apparently, the engineering design of the 2008 Ford F150 drive shaft is such that the hanger bearing cannot be replaced, that switching out the entire drive shaft is the only remedy. My concern is that a drive shaft failing after only 33,000 km is extraordinary. And Ford Canada should be willing to do something to help their customer.
We purchased a Ford Focus in 2013. Shortly after purchasing this car we started having transmission issues, had the clutch replaced and several other things done. We had to have the pcm/tcm reprogrammed a few times and have had a new one installed. Waiting on seals to be replaced. For the 3 years we have owned this car we have made numerous complaints to Ford and even called the corporate office for help, which does not come. We are unable to trade the car into anyone as it will not be paid off because of the transmission trouble. I just drove it for the first time since we have had the TCM replaced and I have to say this car is dangerous!Something needs to be done about this before I or my husband is killed because the car will not move. Stuttering or shuddering or whatever Ford calls it is wrong! We have been told that at least 35,000 customers are waiting for the same part!!! What is Ford going to do? This is by far the worst car we have ever owned!!! Ford needs to man up and take these cars back or pay them off so new cars can be purchased.
Called Roadside Assistance on Christmas Day due to a flat (which of course is a big problem since you no longer have a spare and the inflation kit is worthless if you have any sidewall damage). Here is what transpired. I called and they confirmed a tow in about an hour. After an hour they called back to inform me that they cannot tow me to a dealership that is closed. On December 25th there are no dealerships open in the country!!! I asked if they could tow me home as courtesy especially since it was Christmas Day. They said, No it is out of policy. FYI the Owners Manual states that roadside assistance is available 24/7. PERIOD! No other rules or exceptions.Bottom line they towed me 3 1/2 hours later to a tow lot in literally the worst part of the city from where I had to make home. Forget the fact that I spent 4 hours of Christmas stranded because of Fords unstated policies, missed most of Christmas with my family and my newborn first grandchild. All Ford showed is that their custom care is a fiction (and possibly a violation of several consumer laws as they do not disclose this to their consumers). Bottom line if you need roadside assistance good luck if you need a tow outside of Dealer Hours. They simply dont care about their customers.
I bought a 2016 Limited Ford Explorer in November 2016, I was actually spoiling myself with a vehicle that wasnt 5+ years old. When purchasing from the dealership I had nothing but problems with the driving, had to take back multiple times as the alignment was very off. Turns out I was being sold the vehicles with tires that wouldnt pass inspection. So I just decided never to go to or use that dealership again. Now fast forward not even 4 years later. I was driving down the highway when suddenly I lose all power steering. I managed to get my vehicle back to my local Ford Dealer. I now need the entire steering rack replaced. That costs $2100 plus tax. This is ridiculous for a vehicle that is less than 5 years old. Called customer service and they say they will mark it as a case but until they have many of the same complaints or problems and Ford releases a statement there is nothing they can do about it.I am just so appalled at lack of concern Ford has shown that this young vehicle has this serious of a problem. This is defective and should not be blowing like this. Weve always been a Chevy family & took a chance on this vehicle, what a wrong decision I have made. I have never had to drop that kind of money on any vehicle, I drove my Chevy Trailblazer well past 200,000 miles before I had anything more than your wear & tear issues.I remember over a course of a summer I had to drop about $3000 overall for those wear & tear issues. Now I have no vehicle of my own to drive until this is repaired and I have to wait a few days for parts to be shipped. So what am I driving while I wait for mine to be fixed? Well I am driving my Dads old pickup, a 2005 Chevy Silverado. I had loved this vehicle up until now, and I am going to now look at getting rid of it because what other major problem is going to happen next. Plus I was lucky this time that no one got hurt, that I didnt get into or cause an accident when I suddenly lost steering control on a highway of 65 mph.
I have a 2002 Sable. I was at work when I noticed that I had a flat tire. No biggie. Someone at work changed it and could not get the tire off. After a few minutes, they realized that the spring had broken and was logged in the tire. So naturally I had to have it towed to the shop. This problem cost me $968. I had to have the front springs replaced along with the lings that go with this and a new tire and I am just back at work after two years.
I have two recalls on my 2013 Fusion. I asked the dealership and customer service if I would be provided a loaner car if the repair took more than four hours. I was told that Ford does not provide loaners for either recall. This is totally unacceptable. Ford has sold me a defective vehicle and now to add insult to injury, they are telling me it is my responsibility to provide transportation for myself due to this defective vehicle. I am paying a car note to drive a vehicle, now I will either have to pay for a rental or inconvenience someone else and pay them for their gas. How does Ford think I should be responsible for additional costs because they sold me a defective product? I have informed the dealership and customer service that I will never purchase another Ford product because of this.
2008 super duty diesel super cab. 60,700 miles. Body mount bushing rotting away cause radiator to rest on frame broken end tank. Brake calipers replaced third time now, truck sits in a heated garage. Ford knows of all these issues and will not do a recall on faulty materials. Ive had Ford cars and trucks since 1975. The newer they get the cheaper their built, the more they cost. I wont buy another. Send out a recall on the cheap Wear out in time not usage parts body mount bushings. Stop using pencil erasers for rubber. A block of wood can last longer.
Having good experience with giving the exact point of view and rating in the market with showing the income of the company with employee treatment. Good information with pros and cons - lots of interaction with data.
My purchase was in April 2019, a used Ford Edge Ecoboost. 3 weeks after purchase I found myself stranded on my way home from work in rural Iowa. There were no prior warnings, notifications, etc; just a complete vehicle shutdown. Luckily I did not impact with anyone or vice versa. If I would have been on the highway only God knows what may have happened. Wound up having to have vehicle towed and engine replacement.... Bad start on a new to me purchase. Once again the vehicle is sitting dead in the water. This time came out of grocery store to a stalled vehicle. No indicators, it just wont start. The key fob is a possible cause, however over $300.00 for new key, it could be the battery, or the starter, or the alternator, or a fuse or 1 of the 10,000 electrical components under the hood....Hmmm I also find it ridiculous that Ford does not provide service repair manuals FREE to vehicle owners. Come on guys. With the amount of recalls on your branded vehicles its the least you could do. Anyhow Id like to know why there has not been a recall on the 2012 Edge 2.0 Ecoboost turbochargers; there are so many of the stall while driving complaints it should be mandatory and would be humane. Ford should fix these issues especially during this time of chaos, change and unexpected futures, the last thing I needed was to have a vehicle that is non functional during the winter in the middle of a PANDEMIC. Hats off to Ford manufacturers and prayers out to those who, like me, still own one of their vehicles.
2012 Ford Escape - Paint is peeling on both left and right rear wheel wells and the surface is starting to rust. When I reported problem to Ford Dealer they told me to get a repair estimate. I did and they told me they would have to submit it to Ford for approval. They said if I had purchased rust proofing it would have been covered. My position is that if the paint had not peeled there would be no rust. This problem has been identified on many other reviews and at the body shop where I obtained the estimate. I am prepared to take this issue to our provincial auto ombudsman if Ford does not take responsibility.
My Ford E-250 work van is essential for my service work. I do routine maintenance on the van and it has performed reliably for more than fifteen years. Considering the vintage, the vans six cylinder V-6 (original motor) delivers surprisingly good gas mileage.
Due to past help with constructing the PeaceNet a small International Network; that ultimately turned into the Internet, I can do things most people cannot. The e-mail explains the problems I am having with a Ford Escape. It is a new car with less than a thousand miles on it that is viewed as a deathtrap. Even more problems have come up by research that make the situation even worse. Every time the word Ford comes down the Internet, I am sent the e-mail address. Other words in the e-mail such as purchase can be used to define the list. I have amassed the e-mails of thousands of people that are considering purchasing something from Ford. The Ford resolution department has tried to solve the problem by giving me the X-Plan pricing. The problem is that I would purchase a Ford Edge which is a much safer car and I can get my wife and family to ride in. I have not been able to make a deal on an Edge even though I have the reduced pricing on the Edge because I cannot get the zero percent 72 month financing like I have on the Escape. I am 75 years old, my wife and I live on Social Security and have a house that has expenses plus living expenses that happen even though the house is paid for. I have a credit rating of 815. I live as economically as possible; no extra anything and never go to restaurants or any kind of entertainment. However, a large car payment does not fit into the budget. 72 month or 84 month would be ideal. I have had the Escape repaired at the finest body shop around and carries a lifetime guarantee on the work. Everybody at Ford Resolution is telling me I have to go to Ford Finance for the longer terms. I am going to lose money on the trade in even though it has only three digit miles on it. I have tried to get Ford to take the car back and they will not. Their resolution is that they give me a low price on the purchase, but the dealers will not give me the same finance arrangement. So I am appealing to Ford Finance. There are dealers in the far North area of Chicago that have longer Zero percent financing. I dont know if they use Ford Financing or not. Purchasing a car at a dealer 80 miles away makes no sense. If I cannot make a deal at a price and financing, then I must do my e-mail campaign. I am ready to send thousands of e-mails everyday to people around the world telling them the five points that I have found, as an Engineer by trade, that makes this car dangerous and risky to drive. I go into great detail about this. I have nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter. I would not let one of them ride in the rear area of this Ford Escape. The way that glass rear window just exploded after the accident is real scary. Glass came up into the front area like it was a bullet. It is my duty as a responsible citizen to do this.
Like any Ford product the company issues TSB`s, but not recalls. The Edge has issues with warning lights especially the YOU ARE NOT IN PARK warning. They will not recognize this and will have to be repaired at the owners expense.
Truck was parked in the driveway and caught fire under the hood. Local Ford dealership was aware of recall that could have caused the fire but refused to work on it. Their advice was to contact insurance company because the work that needed to be done was worth more than the trucks value.
We have a chronic problem with a function on our vehicle. We have had to call roadside assistance every other month for the past while. Almost every time they send a towing company that doesnt service this area. I tell them when I call that this is a problem and to please send someone who services this area. They dont. So, after waiting for the tow truck company that does not service the area we have to wait for a tow truck company that does service the area!
I bought a 2011 used Ford for my nephew. I have owned many Fords new and used. This car has power steering issues that has a recall, but Ford doesnt back it, so I have to pay 1400 dollars to replaced a steering gear. This car is dangerous. It goes out while driving making steering almost impossible. I will have it repaired and I will try to sell it. I will never buy another Ford product for myself or my family.
The truck is amazing. Great ride. Very smooth for a truck. Had it for 3 years and not one problem with anything. Ford f150 is a very dependable truck. It has lots of cab room a day. A very smooth ride. Easy to steer and to maneuver in traffic. Great visibility for a truck as well out all windows and mirrors.
Ford is refusing to fix our 09 Escapes power steering issue after issuing a NHTSA recall in July 2014. (14S05) At the time of recall our car didnt have any problems. Ford took the cheap way out and reprogrammed the steering module which fixed nothing. It was a way for Ford to clear our VIN number from the NHTSA recall list. 10,422 miles after the reprogramming the power steering failed. Ford says its now our problem and we have to pay to fix the car. $1,327.90. The car is now showing trouble code B1342 and needs its steering column replaced. If you are having the same problems please report it to NHTSA ASAP. They are investigating Ford for not fixing their recalls. As of right now they have 122 complaints.
I had to have the intake manifold replaced on my 1997 Ford Crown Victoria LX this year, 2014. Ford has acknowledged this flaw, avoided having an official recall issued, notified their Fleet & Commercial consumers and, quietly, without any sort of notification, offered private owners a repair/repair reimbursement offer that was only in effect for 90 days. This is an outrage! I want to be reimbursed for the money I had to spend to have this repair done. ANYBODY ELSE WITH ME ON THIS?!?
This is just a forewarning. Do not buy from Ford. They will sell you a bad car with a bad transmission. They will refuse the right to use your warranty that you paid for to fix it and then it will take you a week to get a hold of the customer service regional manager whom will respond back by email. Not even call you to tell you that they will not do anything to help resolve your issue! They dont care!!! They already got your money!!!
I bought a 2105 Ford 150 XLT 4WD and on Dec 22nd 2017 it seems fuel pump went out. Had to get truck towed so called roadside. They said it would be 3 hours so I waited. No one showed. Called roadside back come to find out someone cancelled. Did not tow until Dec 23 2017. Since truck has been in shop date changes on parts coming in to fix. First date was Jan 12th 2018. Now Jan 25th 2018. Still no action. Tried calling Ford direct 4 times. Cant get through and dealership keeps making excuses.
My F150 has 62000 miles. My service light came on and said transmission malfunction. Took to dealer very same day. After almost a month to repair because Ford dealer/Ford regional manager could not find the parts to repair the transmission, could not find the parts in the Ford system throughout the US. Picked up truck on a Saturday at a cost of $1200 and returned on Sunday. The transmission kept shifting between gears and when I stopped at a traffic light and then accelerated, it would race and then engage with a jolt. It has so far been TWO months and I still do not have my truck. I will never buy another truck from Ford again. All they have done is run you around in circles until you get exhausted and quit. The only good thing is they gave me a loaner two weeks after they took my truck so I dont have to rent a car anymore.
On Saturday, June 21, 2014, at 10:00pm my 2001 Ford F-150 started a fire under the hood after being parked for several hours. There was no trouble with the truck and we had just spent about $700 on maintenance services. Thank God my husband & kids were still up when they heard a loud noise outside, went to see what was going on, and found the truck in flames. The fire started to melt the vinyl siding on my house but the firefighters arrived just in time before the house caught on fire. I thank God for sparing my family and home. However, I would like to get any advice from those who has filed a case with Ford because something has to be done about these vehicles.
The Transit Connect wagon is a surprisingly well appointed mini van costing much less than the competitors. This vehicle has been a big hit in Europe for several years and is now breaking into the US market. It has great visibility, a very responsive engine, and plenty of room for 6 passengers. It drives and handles well. I especially like that the back seats fold down flat. We can safely haul our 4 dogs in 4 midsize hard shell dog crates (two side by side in the back, and two facing either sliding side doors) and still have room for gear and luggage. I’m very fond of the wireless cellphone cubby in the dash, no changing cables! It has separate climate controls and comfortable heated seats for the driver and front passenger.
I had a voluntary repossession in 2002, 10 years ago, which was charged off, according to Experian. Theyve ruined my credit since then, and expect me to pay interest on the property I dont even have. For 4 times, the write-off in 2008 according, to Experian now put another judgement I bought in Colorado. The judgement is in Missouri. Something isnt right. I need advice! Ford Motor Credit Customer Service is not, and has not done anything but repossess it, sell it, and write it off in 2008. Is this right? I dont have the property, and no change in my credit report. I need some help, and maybe some constructive advice in a letter, if possible. Can I avoid bankruptcy, after all this?
My 2010 Ford Edge Limited has to be one of my favorite autos Ive had over my 44+ yrs of driving. Since I bought my first SUV back in 1992-93 I have never owned a car again. This vehicle is very dependable, very comfortable, good mileage, and a great ride all in all. If I had to in the future for whatever reason, I would buy the same make & model but I just wish Ford didnt change the newer Edges in size, theyre smaller in and out.
The Ford Five Hundred has been a great car for me and I really like it. It has leather interior and has lots of cup holders. I like the way the back seats fold down to give me more trunk space. I really enjoy the heated seats the best. So great in the winter time and they really help. But I would like the car to have four wheel drive for better driving during the winter snow season. It does seem to slide easy on slick streets.
I have owned so many vehicles and finally purchased a Ford focus this past year. By far the worst experience of my life. I brought a 2013 Ford focus that had a recall on the transmission control modular. After taking it to a Ford dealer they told me the part was on backorder and they had no estimate of when it would be fixed. Fast forward 8 weeks later, still not fixed, they refuse to give me a rental saying there is none available, Ive called and spoke to supervisors of Ford company and get nowhere. They have the worst customer service. We are currently looking to buy another car while we wait for that piece of junk Ford to be fixed which could take anywhere from a day to years at this point and the second we get it back, we are listing it for sale!!! I will NEVER buy a Ford again!!!
A few years ago, I purchased a 2004 White Police Interceptor Crown Victoria. Shortly after the purchase, I noticed that the paint was peeling and blowing away with the wind. This was not my first experience with this condition, so I knew immediately what was wrong. Incompatibility between the paint and primer used at the factory. At the start of flaking, I scraped away the loose paint on the edges of the patch, primered it with a spray can hoping to seal the edges and not allow the wind to lift more of the paint. Then I repainted the spots with a spray can of white paint. Sorry to report that this patch only lasted a matter of weeks before the wind got under the original paint once again and flaking continued. I have a bunch of pictures showing this condition covering most of the roof and trunk lid as well spots on the rest of the car. I had thought of putting a sign on the car stating that this was an original Ford paint job that was flaking away, but I havent done that yet. I had to at least prime the roof spots because rust was starting to show. I called Ford service only to find out the people who answered were not Ford employees, but a company hired as gatekeepers to fend off pesky complaints that they probably dumped in the trash at the end of each shift. Apparently Ford is not interested in owning up to their mistake with the paint job as they have ignored my request for a fix. As I said above, this is not my first experience with this issue.I purchased a 1986 Ford F-150 that exhibited the exact same problem with the paint, and after much correspondence with Ford (at that time you could talk directly to a Ford rep.), they recalled the truck, stripped the paint completely and repainted the whole truck. I am very pleased with this car in every other way and would be forever grateful if someone out there could reach into Ford and bring this to their attention, and hopefully, a satisfactory resolution. Thanks.
CVT TRANSMISSION... BREAKS DOWN AND LEAVES YOU STRANDED. Ford will not back it and theres a class action suit against Ford and they dont care! Google CVT Mercury Montego or Ford Freestyle and hundreds of complaints. Do not buy Ford Mercury as they dont care!
I have enjoyed my Ford Edge very much. It is a Eco boost. It has a back up camera and it will beep if close to objects. Priceless. I am able to put a lot of items in the back and the back seats will lay down to be able to put more things into the back.
It maneuvers really great on the road & its driving comfort is perfect. Mileage is really good too? We have had several different makes of vehicles but the two Fords that we have are what we were looking for & to date the service has been excellent! Our prev vehicle had repairs/replacements that needed to be done at 100k and we were not advised when purchased. Ford was truthful & did their best to find what we were looking for including the color. Their service dept has notified us any time they see something of concern and its not always costly. The vehicles are a joy to drive. We were always Chev people but their sales staff were not very accommodating & refused to deal to make the sale. Their loss!
I purchased a new 2015 Ford Fusion Hybrid through my shared employee plan through Harley Davidson and Ford Motor Company. The car currently has 25K miles on it and I have had nothing but issues with it. The transmission went out at 20K miles. The radiator cracked at 25K. There has been faulty wiring in the seats and door panels to name a few. I wrote a letter to Ford Motor Company and they called me back with a case number and opened an investigation on their end. They never called me back when I left messages and provided no information to me on the buyback program. I was just informed today (as my car is on day 26 of being in service at the dealership) that my car does not qualify for a buyback. When I questioned as to why, she said, I dont know. Im not an attorney. Youd have to hire one.” I am so disappointed in Fords product, and horrible customer service.
I took my truck to Sheehy Ford for a engine issue. Basically the truck would shut off while driving down the road. The dealer said we should replace the head studs, head gaskets, injector seals, fuel seals, oil passage seals. I was okay with all of that costing estimated $7000 and about 26 labor hours. That was 4+ months ago. They have had my truck for 4+ months. They replaced my radiator, why??? I dont know and the service manager doesnt know either. But Im sure Im getting billed for that somehow. Face to face I asked the service manager why they replaced my radiator. He said I dont know. I went to the shop to get some camping stuff out of my truck and was there for about 25-30 minutes. There were 6 vehicles in the shop and not one technician in there working. At one point a tech walked in the back door and grabbed an oil pan and brought it over to a van but dropped it and walked up to the front. I dont trust what they are doing mechanically to my truck. They in theory replaced my high pressure oil pump, but once it was all back together they had zero oil pressure. Did they replace it??? Well even the old oil pump was giving some oil pressure. I cant get a response from the service manager anymore and I had to call Ford motor company. So far Tina has done a good job corresponding between me and the dealer but Im not getting anywhere. Again 4+ months and over $4000 in rental car bills. I have yet to get my truck back and am still making payments and insurance on a truck I can not use. I wouldnt trust them to change my head light.
I was going about 15 miles per hour after taking off from a stoplight. The truck started bucking and I could hear a popping sound from the engine. I pulled over and opened the hood and noticed the COP vibrating loose. I drove it 3 miles to the dealer. I opened the hood again and the COP was completely broken off. This was the second time this happened. Ford will not pay or own up to it because they have since fixed the issue in newer vehicles. They are waiting for these to be phased out so they can save money by turning their back on the customers. I am a US soldier and its sad that I defend such spineless cowards!
Ford Motor Company ignored and did not respond to our complaint about serious defect in the cruise control! We have a 2021 Ford Transit 3500 with only 2,200 miles. While cruise was set at 70 mph driving on I-5 in Late October it slowed automatically to about 40 MPH while in right lane as we were approaching a traffic slow down in both lanes. We moved into the left passing lane at about 35 MPH at that time and traffic was starting to slow down when suddenly and surprisingly the Adaptive Cruise Control accelerated violently towards a vehicle in the left lane which was stopping quickly directly in front of us. It was like we were going into warp drive on Star Trek Enterprise with another truck almost stopped right before us! It happened so fast that it seemed hitting the brakes did not slow us down or cancel the cruise control. We had a horrible collision with the truck in front of us at maybe going about 45 to 50MPH causing deployment of the front airbags. It has been so very disappointing that Ford Motor Company did not respond to my appeal on 10/29/2021 to answer our concern when I communicated with the online representative on the Ford Website. The associate I communicated with would not answer my questions or address the issue so I asked for her to forward this concern to her supervisor or manager, which she agreed to. I also called the general Manager at Damerow Ford in Beaverton Oregon and explained the situation. I had ordered the truck through them from the factory. The result was also zero help and guidance also.My auto insurance carrier did not want to address this issue saying that since the personal injury was minor it did not merit them getting involved investigating the possible defect in Fords product. We sustained back and neck injury and are still experiencing pain from the wreck 2 months ago. Also the truck is at a dealer now awaiting repairs and rebuilding. I would like to recommend that to save lives, injury and damage to property that Adaptive cruise control from Ford Motor Company be used with extreme caution until the manufacturer stops ignoring this concern and does their job to protect their customer.
I faced several safety-related issues with a FORD FUSION 2012. When I submitted a request for repurchase/replacement under the Lemon law, Ford agreed to repurchase/replace a lemon I purchased back in May 2012. I was negotiating the replacement option when FORD decided to cancel the offer. When I spoke to an attorney, they told me that the due date for filing under the lemon law had passed and hence, I was not eligible for an arbitration process under the Lemon law.I was told that FORD had essentially dragged the process to make my claim fall outside the Lemon law window and now I am forced to hire a private attorney to file a lawsuit. The attorney I spoke with advised that this can get very expensive if FORD decides to fight it, as they have a lot of resources. As a consumer, I feel cheated by this company - first when I was sold a lemon and then when they cancelled their offer for no apparent reason. This is just an abuse of the system.
We previously owned a Ford Taurus and had our minds set on another one. However, when we went to the Ford dealer we were pleasantly surprised at how big the inside of the Flex was and the large cargo space. The automatic folding seats and all the safety features plus room for 2 more passengers. Very pleased!
I’m a long time Ford owner. In July, 2017 the electronic power steering on my 2013 Mustang GT which had less than 40K miles, malfunctioned which in turn resulted in the loss of traction control, ABS and other electronic assist functions. After being informed that my warranty was expire, I was quoted over $2.2K. Annoyed that a low mileage car which was less than 4 years old could have an issue like this, I chose to drive it without power steering.Fast forward to January 2018, I brought the car to the dealership for an oil change which happened to lose all steering function while in their possession. The dealership explained that the car was a ticking time bomb and that I should be grateful that the steering didn’t go out while I was on the road. I was blown away because they never informed me that I would lose all steering in the original diagnosis 6 months earlier. I contacted Ford Consumer Affairs and they just filed it away and don’t want to acknowledge the issue due to the potential liability it can face for selling cars with faulty steering that are likely to fail on the road. Ford’s power steering issues are well-known, but the associated catastrophic steering failure is not. Basically, if you drive a Ford product and the power steering goes out, you are driving a death trap.
Im writing to express our extremely disappointing experience with Ford. My husband bought a 2010 F150 and back in May of this year 2015, he went to Ford about the extensive rust damage on the vehicle. He has owned nothing but Ford products through the years and he has never experienced such a problem. To make a long story short, he went back and forth with Ford regarding the extensive damage. His truck has been in the shop for five weeks waiting on Ford to at least agree to take some sort of responsibility and they will not do anything. We are so disappointed. We will never buy another Ford product.
Bought used in Nov 2014. After 3 days the smell of gas was overwhelming. Returned to dealer to discover there was a recall. It has been at the dealer ever since (9 months). Ford has been renting us a car since then! No word on ever getting it back.
I love Ford vehicles. My first was an Explorer which I had for about 4-5 years but when both my dogs passed away, I needed to move on to help me forget but I sold it on my own and got a pretty penny for it. This was a rare occasion because I like to hold on to my vehicles. So I took the check I received for it and started my search for my next Ford. And of course there are the naysayers who will tell you that Ford stands for found on road dead But not in my case. My next Ford was in 1996, the last year they made the Bronco. I bought it in Nov of 1995 and I drove it for 20 years with regular upkeep but not one problem along the way. One month short of 20 years it got tired and had to go to Bronco heaven. I had more people asking me if I would consider selling it because I take care of my cars and even after 20 years, there was not a speck of rust on it. I was stopped at a light one day and the guy behind me got out of his car and came to my window just to tell me what a nice truck it was. Since then, I have been driving a non Ford car that I had in storage and I hate it. You cant see over other cars and trucks when you are stuck in traffic. But, never fear, the word is out that Ford will be bringing the Bronco back in 2018 and I will be the first in line. I just wish they would bring the little side windows back. They were awesome too.
The 2013 Ford Fiesta is a lemon! Ford needs to take back every one made and refund owners! Ive never been so disappointed in a Ford. Weve had the car in twice for transmission work and it still vibrates and drags. Ive had plenty of manual transmissions and the automatic tranny in this car drags bad like a person who doesnt know how to use a clutch or shift. To top it off, we already had to buy tires for it because the cheap crap Kumhos they put on the new car already split! I wont buy another Ford product. I stood by Ford when they didnt take a buyout from the Government, but this is how they treat loyal customers... Sell them lemons!
The 2016 Ford Fiesta is a great first car for my twenty year old daughter. It is dependable, and I love the color and the shiny blue really stands out. I bought it new from a Ford dealership and they were amazing and answered all of our questions. My daughter fell in love with the car at the dealership and I felt she would be safe driving it. I also purchased a bumper to bumper warranty and I have never had to use it even once. I really love the car. However, it doesnt have much power to get up and go. The only thing that could make it better is if it had a built in GPS and if the price was cheaper.
I have a 2013 Ford Edge limited with throttle body issues. There are pages and pages and pages of complaints online but ford will not recall the vehicle. The car loses power and will not allow you to press the gas, it basically just rolls until you roll to a safe or not so safe place to pull over. I had this issue within the first two years of the purchase. It was repaired about 8 months ago and now again. It having the same issue. The salesman knew there was an issue and even said that he just drove a brand new one off the lot that had the same issue. FORD EDGE THROTTLE BODY NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE DIES!!!
I am in South Africa and bought 2016/2017 Ford Everest Limited and have had endless issues with it. The latest is the sensor on the steering rack failure which Ford now has to replace the whole steering rack for the second time. Once the sensor fails it disables all the driver assist features. I am concerned for my safety and do not know what the future will be with this car. I have done some research and have seen that Ford in the past had similar problems with steering rack failures. Can you help in any way please?
Love the Ford Edge titanium! All the bells and whistles and is a v6. Great in snow and mud which I have a lot of both! Unfortunately the back light bar blew and was very expensive to replace. Most other issues, loose wires, happened under warranty. Love the product!
Bought a 2018 F-150 XLT FX4 off road in May of 2018 and have many of issues. The major issue is the warped dashboard. Ford knows about the issue but will not do anything about it. Many of the new car trucks on the lots have this issue. The other issues that you need to be made aware of is; leaking water at the fire wall onto the brake pedal (3rd time in the shop and cant find the leak), both fog lights replaced because of broken on the inside, both drive and passenger seatbelts had to be replaced, 2 tail light bulbs replaced before realizing that the house was leaking and holding water, and the transmission has been looked at more than 5 times now. Every little thing that was covered by warranty has found its way on to Carfax. The price in may was $60,000.00 now because of the work the value of the truck is only $37,000.00. Be careful.
Ford no longer has a fuel sensor and therefore if the fuel composition changes the computer does not adjust and you will be stranded. We have had our 2016 Explorer towed 3 times as the computer is not able to adjust to fuel composition and will not start, until the dealer resets the computer. DO NOT purchase this 2016. It is Fraud. They sell as a flex fuel. This is a lie and FORD needs to be sued.
Purchased the new 2014 Ford Fiesta in August 2014. By the time I went in for my first oil change I was having problems with the car shaking, jerking, slipping, shuddering upon light acceleration on gas from a complete stop. I expressed my complaint/problem with the service technician and he said its normal, people complain about the same issue all the time and theres nothing they can do. As of todays date the problem still exist, I been back to the dealership with the same complaint and nothing has ever been resolved. And it seems like its getting worse.
I arrived home from work on 3/26/2012 at approximately 3 pm. The truck (2001 F-150) was off and parked for a good hour. While in my kitchen, I heard a loud boom and smelled something burning. I looked outside and the driver’s side front fender was on fire. Flames were coming through the hood. The loud boom turned out to be my driver’s side front tire. I called the fire department of Midland County, TX. My truck is totaled. The entire front of my 4-door truck burned. The firemen got to my house before any structural damage occurred. My truck was paid for; therefore, I only carried liability insurance. I was willing to accept the loss and was grateful that my children were not harmed. Now, I am finding out that this is a problem that Ford knew about. Why am I not notified? I remember receiving notices about extended warranty options, but never about a potential fire hazard. As I learn more about this issue, it upsets me even more. I had problems with my cruise control within the last 6 months. I also replaced the rear light bulbs because of brake and emergency light problems. I repeat, I am grateful to God that no one was hurt, but I can’t help but to believe that this could have been prevented. Please respond with information and direction that I could go from this unnecessary burden that my family has to endure. Thank you for your time and consideration.
2012 Ford Edge. Electrical issues. Gas gauge sometimes works; ditto engine warning, over heating light, sun roof, transmission, brakes. Bought new 43,000. Gas gauge and engine warning I complained about to Heller then Perry while under warranty. Never seemed to find anything wrong (remember this). At 95k had 100k service done at Perry. Then tranny fails. Extended warranty (hassle) covered that. They didnt check cooling system, car warning light came on 50 miles from Las Vegas 114 degrees out. Went to Miller Ford in Provo UT. Just a radiator cap, two days and $600. Back to Perry, nothing wrong. Then turn indicator chimes come on, fan goes on automatically, cant turn off, then brakes fail. Send it to Heller now that it is out of warranty. Gee, gas tank sender unit is out (remember couldnt find anything wrong) 1000.00, fan motor bad 700.00, then in three days they cant find what is wrong with brakes - still waiting. Called Ford, they only go on word of dealers. I asked for a Ford field engineer (Ford first call said to ask for one). Ford field rep blew me off. So I have a 43k piece of crap that is unsafe and Ford blows me off. Any attorneys out there doing class action?
I wanted a Ford Edge for 8 years. Went through a terrible illness with husband that forced him to stop working. So when we finally could afford a vehicle I knew what I wanted. I love my Ford Edge and I think my husband does too. We have always had a bigger car. And the Edge is very roomy, extremely comfortable for traveling and have not had any problem. I also love the way it drives. My Edge has a lot of extras and I like the heated seats, reclining back seats, sunroof and color. Also, the only thing I dislike is the color of carpet. Its tan and thats too light. Darker carpet doesnt show any wear. But still, I will only buy Edges.
Need to know the review of used Ford Escape, 2013. Had bought Ford Fiesta in 2012, and eventually, Ford bought it back as a lemon. Put the money in the bank, and loaned dtr 5K to buy 14 Ford Taurus. A mistake, so far, a new windshield is needed, deep scratches need repair (dealer trying to get out of that one). This dealer has sold my family more than 5 cars. Maybe this is the year I change dealers.
I am very disappointed with the quality of the Ford edge car. I bought this car in Dec 2012 and it had 3 years free service and warranty. During the past 2.5 years the car has refused to start twice at crucial times and had to be sent to the workshop. I was told that the battery was faulty and it was replaced 2 times. On 1 occasion the car cooling hose burst in the middle of peak hour traffic on Sheikh Zayed road. I had to call a tow truck and sent to workshop. I got the car additional 2 years 20k km free servicing by paying over AED 3000 however as soon as the 60k km warranty was over the car started to miss engine beats and stopped in mid traffic many times. Again at the workshop I was billed for AED 1320 for labour and replacement of spark plugs and catalytic cleaning. Now the workshop has informed me that the battery needs to be replaced again 3rd time and I will have to pay for this. Any other competitors car would not have given me so much problem seeing that till date it is driven locally in Dubai only 68k km and is 2.5 years old. Very poor quality not expected from FORD.
On December of 2010, I had transmission problems and we then had it replaced at Gates Automotive 73 Marway Circle Rochester, NY 14624; phone 585-247-3844. Then in March of 2012, we received a recall notice stating that there is a recall on the torque converter. So now that we received the notice this month that there is an official recall, they are denying the claim because it does not have specifics of the torque converter being the case, but does indicate the same problems of having park, no forward or reverse on van. I had them replace the transmission not knowing Ford was recalling it at that time because of it being two years prior to any letter. Now because the receipt does not indicate that it was a torque converter, they will not honor the refund on this job. I had spoken with a couple of individuals from the 1-800-232-5952 customer relationship center and still no headway. The company did not pull the transmission apart because no one knew of a recall. I would have rather paid for a torque converter than a whole transmission.
I paid $3600 for the Premium Service package that is contracted in my payments each month. I cant get that money back. Fletcher Ford in MO said that my Ford has never had my Premium service done. Ford complaint center said it has. Fletcher Ford service center said that my rotors were ground down so bad that I need new rotors. Ford Complaint center claims that they were never touched by any service according to my service records. Ford tried to say that I ride the brakes too hard and that is why they are ground down so much. I had another Ford truck that I put over 400,000 miles on and never had to change the rotors. I dont ride on my brakes. I believe that there was some dishonesty along the way.Ford has always serviced my Ford truck and they kept up the brakes. My brakes are right now 70% to the good so why would anyone grind down my rotors? The only thing I can think of, is so that I would get Ford service to replace them and thats how they make more money on your vehicle along the way. Thats what the Premium service is all about to me, is to get more money out of you along the way by doing dishonest service to your vehicle, so it seems!
Purchased a 2015 Transit Connect XLT for our business at the end of December. Put on the road mid-January. March 18th the truck made a large noise and then died. We had it towed to the Ford Dealership where we purchased it. The dealership spoke to Tech Support for Ford.. Did a few things suggested and nothing worked. No one could/can give me a date about when it will be fixed. A new part was accelerated with no time frame delayed twice. The truck is sitting at the dealership. FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE has been USELESS. Their only answer is part is accelerated.I then went onto corporate website and emailed Tier 1 support who referred me back to the People I had been speaking too. The Service Reps that have never had called to tell us what is going on. No One Cares. No one can tell us when the part is due in. This week the Dealership took the part Ford was hoping would fix the truck from another truck and still it is not fixed. Again, no follow up from Customer Service. We have 6 Ford Trucks and have never had a problem. I will have to think long and hard before we will purchase another after this experience.
Bought a new 2014 Ford Focus Titanium off the lot and within about 4 or 5 days my engine was already starting to shutter. I brought it back and they said thats just the way it is. I believed them sadly. Overtime it got a lot more aggressive, and finally they decided to look at my engine with only 20,000 miles. I had a recall and a few other things plus them looking at my transmission so they said they need to keep it a few days, and refused to give me a loaner car, or a rental. They did not call me, so I decided to call and I could not get a hold of the service adviser for the life of me. I even asked for the service manager and left several voicemails and he hasnt called me back to this day. Finally called corporate and they got a hold of the service adviser the next day. I had multiple things wrong, included a new clutch, bearings, transmission fluid, a part for my transmission (they werent very specific). Worst part is a check engine light never went on. He then said the parts will come in on Friday, so my car wont be ready until the following Tuesday, and yes... they still didnt want to give me a rental or a loaner. Well here comes Tuesday, and my car still isnt ready. This is about 13 days they have had my car. It is ridiculous, Ford will never own up to the problems people are having with their cars.
As my Ford lease was coming to a close, I went in to visit Sales Rep Stephen **. I expressed my needs, concerns and what I was looking for in my new Ford vehicle. I also stated the price range. Mr. ** listened to my needs! He presented me with a vehicle that not only met my needs and concerns but exceeded my expectations!!! Most Importantly, he helped me Stay Within My Budget!!! I am So Very Grateful!!! If you need a reliable, dependable car and need to stay within a budget I Recommend that you visit the Maplecrest Ford Lincoln Dealer of Union. Ask for Mr. Stephen **!!!
I just had a fire on my 2002 Escape. The ABS wire loom burnt. Lucky I was up, my whole car would have gone up in flames. I need my car fixed.
Im very happy with my Ford Fiesta. Ive had it for 3 years now and so far the ride is still smooth. The airconditioner is cold. The only thing I dont like is the space inside. Its quite small, you can only fit 3 small-medium size people in the back seat. I wish the space was a little bigger.
Writing this because people have been complaining about this and wondering which direction to turn? My daughters boyfriend was in need of a new car. I suggested the Ford Fusion so he purchased a new 2016 in December. The car now has 10,000 miles on it and it stopped running. We have had the car in the local dealership and they have found wires that have been chewed by rodents that number one are not covered by warranty. After going on to Google, I have found that this is a problem that many new car companies are finding. The wiring that is being used is of a material that rodents love and find irresistible to chew. My question is who is going to pay for this if warranty doesnt cover this? Do we have to sue? Also who do we sue? This is not going to be inexpensive? Just really cant believe with all the people complaining that something is not being done. Please respond -- you can call me **.
How can I file a complaint towards your shipping company, they have failed to provide me with updated delivery, my vehicle has been in Jacksonville terminal for several days while the final destination in Orlando is only an hour away!!!! I purchased the Mach E I put nearly 50% deposit and yet an exact delivery has not been provided to me. I AM THE ONE PAYING FOR DELIVERY! I deserve to know when, and where my car is. Norfolk Southern has been a nightmare to get a hold of. My dealership is working with the info from Fords tracking which has been useless and inaccurate. You risk more people canceling their orders if you continue to practice this way. Give your customers better information, keep them happy or they will turn away.
Ford Motor Company: your recall 18S20 has affected my vehicle. It is stuck in park because your bushings corroded and the cable between the gearshift and the transmission is inoperable. YOU have no solution at this time, but the dealership CAN fix it for $750 at my cost! And no rental!
First off if I could take away the star I was required to give I would. I own a 2001 Ford Excursion, have wanted one for some time, after purchasing the truck I was completely satisfied with it. But a very short time later I experienced my first spark plug that blew out. Luckily (why I dont know) it didnt take the threads the first time out. Well tonight I have now experienced my total of my third plug blowing out. Money for me does not come easy, and I can assure you the money I spend on a truck will not line the pockets of Ford Motor Company in the future. I know my claim alone is not enough to make a difference, after all its FORD MOTOR COMPANY, one of the if not the largest motor vehicle company in the world. They have all kinds of money. Well they have received the very last dollar from my pocket on anything of their products.Sure they have some nice looking cars/trucks. But that alone is not enough. I have other cars here with half a million miles on them, yes literally half a million miles and not once, not one time ever have they ever blown a plug out of the motor. And for a company the size of Ford to sit and do nothing, well thats just unacceptable to me. I am 100% interested in anyones class action lawsuit that they may put together, and I’ll make sure I spread the word in any forum, car boats or the like about the ongoing problem with FORD MOTOR COMPANY. We live in the age of internet, to have a problem like this and do nothing, well its a time bomb. Sure the company will carry on and probably never hear or see my issues but I can assure you that there are thousands of people that will. Thank you and I apologize to any other ford owners experiencing the same as I have. It just plain sucks. I can be reached **. Thank you for your time.
Part unavailable for my 2015 F-350. I purchased this truck in April of this year. It is a King Ranch. Shortly after picking up the truck a couple of warning lights came on. Took it back to the dealership and was told it needs a RCM Harness which was currently unavailable. The truck was still in warranty so I left it with the dealership awaiting a part. That was April 19, 2019. The truck is still there and there is no ETA on this part. Ford customer service has sent me an email regularly saying there is no idea when this will be available. In the meantime I have a brand new camper (5th wheel) and no way to use it. I have been told this is not uncommon for this model and I wonder why it is taking so long for a part to be available. I feel Ford as well as the dealership should offer some serious compensation for this as the previous owner traded it due to this problem (he told me) and the dealership did not disclose it however Ford has not addressed the issue.
On 12/1/2013, I started my car (2008 Ford Fusion) and it sounded & seemed normal. However, after driving less than 2 miles, my engine suddenly decelerated and the RPMs dropped dramatically. I tried to accelerate and it would not increase speed. I was able to get off the road safely. I had to have my car towed. The mechanic determined that the problem was due to a faulty power train control module which impacts the ignition coils and the estimated cost of repair is $2100! One of my ignition coils was melted. Ford has issued a Technical Service Bulletin (which suggests replacing the power train control module & all 6 ignition coils) on this issue; however, they do not deem this a safety issue! Cars that just stop running or decelerate quickly is most definitely a safety issue. I can think of many scenarios where this issue could cause injury or perhaps even death. Had I been on a freeway or driving at a greater speed where there was more traffic, I could certainly have ended up in an accident with another vehicle. I researched this concern and found that I am not alone and there have many others affected by the same exact situation. Ford is of the opinion that this should be the responsibility of the car owner and they do not hold themselves accountable. I understand how warranties work and I realize that cars age. However, this issue has nothing to do with wear and tear or age. This is a faulty piece of equipment that is causing a safety issue when it hampers a vehicles ability to continue in a forward motion at a normal rate of speed. Ford Motor Company should issue a safety recall...not just a technical service bulletin.
At the beginning of June I was lucky enough to notice that one of my doors was not closing before I left my parking spot. I had the car towed in to a Ford service center and was expecting it to have it fixed within a couple of days. I mean it is just a door latch (which they made out of PLASTIC by the way). After a few days of waiting I find out that they want to hold onto the car until at least September, for some reason they dont have this simple part anywhere in stock. Thats at least 3 MONTHS without a car that I am paying monthly and they are offering some rental car reimbursement for a small compact car which is only about $30 a day and I think the cheapest rental car is $35, nowhere near the value of the car I am leasing from them. If it was only for a week or two then I would have no problem with that. I have called them numerous times in order to work something out, maybe get the same value car rental compared to the one I am leasing, but they dont want to do anything. The customer means NOTHING to this company. You are absolutely 0 to them. As long as they are getting money from you they dont care how you are being inconvenienced.I had the pleasure of speaking to the regional manager of Ford in NY and she was utterly useless. The first time she called she couldnt even locate the car after I gave her the VIN and the dealership where the car is located. The second time she called she basically told me she cant do anything using her resources, another word I heard thrown around while on the phone with them. Its like they work on favors. She made it sound like I should feel privileged that they are even offering me a rental in the first place. She told me that the dealer can use their resources, again this word, and try to get the part faster or something. They are basically making me call everyone for them instead of them solving the issue. Its not my job do that, its theirs. Its the reason why they get paid. In my opinion this person gets paid for no reason and her job should be given to someone else that can actually help the customer. So to review: stuck 3 months without a car I am paying for, Ford is offering a partial reimbursement for a rental, Ford regional manager is useless (she does anything but manage). I will never in my life consider buying/leasing a Ford product again (including Lincoln).
I bought a brand new Mustang GT in the summer of 18. I traded a pristine 14 JKU and a 2003 Corvette in on this car. 2 vehicles I loved very much. The Jeep was still like brand new with almost no miles. Anyway, I bought this Mustang and drove this thing very cautiously hoping a gentle break in would ensure long drivetrain longevity. This car has never even done a burnout. Well, the engine started making a rattling noise like a diesel Around 500 miles. The interior had a random rattle and the transmission would often grind going in to 3rd and 4th as well as being resistant to pull out of 3rd gear. This car zat for a total of 32 days in the few months I owned it. Ford put a new short block in it at 2,000. Basically the car was no longer brand new as the front end was completely disassembled. I asked Ford for an msrp swap and they said no. I asked them to reimburse me the amount of monthly payments in proportion to how long the car zat and they said no because they dont have confidence Ill stay with the brand. I traded 2 fantastic vehicles for this pile of garbage and Ford had no interest in satisfying their customer. I buy a new car every few years and had Ford treated me well they would have had another guaranteed sale from me as I bought my wife a new car in Dec 19. We were going to buy an Explorer. Unfortunately Ill NEVER buy another Ford and I urge you to research the engine/ transmission failures in basically every Ford model in production. Im making it a life mission to share my experience with the general public in hopes that I can prevent them from having the same horrific experience I did. Have a nice day.
The Ford Edge Limited was well made and the fit & finish is very good. The vehicle has over 20K miles and no problems. The ride is comfortable and road noise is very low. The cargo area is a good size and can be doubled by lowering the rear seats. I recommend getting the V6 engine.
In July 2017 our 2013 Ford F-150 lost all braking power. Had truck towed and they replaced Master Cylinder and brake booster. I researched and found our truck was manufactured 4 months too early to be included in a recall for this very issue. Ford headquarters finally agreed to pay us $350 of our $574 bill. We have a complaint number and approval code. HOWEVER it is October and the local dealership Sam Packs Ford Country of Lewisville TX refuses to cut our partial hush payment! Ive emailed and called too many times to both headquarters and local shop!!! Im done with Ford and ready to spread the word of their refusal to admit to faulty parts and refusal to honor partial payment! They are liable and are trying to avoid all accountability. Shame on Ford as we all know BRAKES ARE OPTIONAL on Ford vehicles!!!
The Ford Flex is a wonderful vehicle. The interior is roomy and very comfortable and the ease of entry and exit is great. Also, the sound system is great and the seating and cargo capacity meets my needs as the father of seven.
Ford Freestar - Had car inspected 1/24/14 & had rear struts put on...no problem. Took my car in 1/2015 & when brakes where being put, guy noticed large hole in wheel well. There is a recall for this part and Ford said the corrosion is too large to fix under the recall.
I love my 2017 F350 Super Duty Platinum diesel dually. But there’s a minor flaw in the design of the side view mirrors on current Ford Super Duty trucks. The upper back half of the mirrors are available with a painted or chrome cap & the chrome option is the problem. The cap wraps around the inside upper edge of the mirror casing & the chrome acts like a mirror which reflects anything from whatever angle it’s set at. In my case, the driver’s side chrome cap reflects the white & yellow stripes from the center of the road. The passenger side reflects anything off to the right side of the road like construction barrels, signage on fences, light poles, etc.. These reflections are a distraction to the driver. When these items or paint lines flash in my peripheral vision, they can be a distraction. Or when I take a quick look in my side mirrors to check traffic around me, the flash reflections of other objects off the chrome caps makes it difficult to concentrate on the actual traffic I’m trying to quickly assess. Ford should paint the inside edge of the chrome caps with a flat black paint. I did this with my 2017 F350 Platinum dually & it solved the problem. Now the only movement I see is in the actual mirror itself. I painted only the inside edge of the chrome cap, which is not even noticeable to anyone looking at the truck from outside. This would be a very simple fix for Ford to do with the chrome mirror caps.
I just bought a 2016 Ford FX4 crew cab truck. I have been driving Ford vehicles all my life and thought I would never even consider another make. Well, that may change. This truck has been a big disappointment from day one. Following is my review... I switched from a 3.5 EcoBoost to a 2.7 EcoBoost in hopes that I would get better mileage. Not only is it worse than the 3.5, the economy readout on the dash is consistently 2.5-3.5 mpg less than the actual mileage. I have Checked every tank since I bought it. The Ford SYNC is a joke. The most user unfriendly system I have encountered. And I leave my iPod connected all the time and never touch it. The radio recognizes it about 50% of the time. I have changed power cords twice thinking there may be a short. But no change. If it was a short it would also affect it while playing. But when it plays it works perfectly. The driver side window does what it wants to sometimes. It may go down when you want it up. Or vice versa. The structural rigidity of this truck is nothing like my 2014. It jiggles and shakes like a 1981 Pontiac when on uneven pavement. The worst gas filler ever! Every time I lock the fuel nozzle on and wait for it to fill up, it clicks off the nozzle like its supposed to, but you better not be standing behind it! Almost every fill up dumps a quart of gas all over the ground. The driver door speaker is already buzzing and vibrating. The coating in the bed is useless. Its like a sheet of greasy ice. Everything slides all over the bed, so I have to lock it down. I have yet to figure out how the trailer back up assist works. For the amount of money this truck costs, Ford really screwed up on this one. I will be looking elsewhere soon. Id like to have my 2014 back.
I bought the car the Friday after Thanksgiving. A good time to shop. It is a 2018. Ive been looking for quite a while. I viewed many. This was the right one because the price was right! I love it!
Went to get a oil change at dealer, a scheduled maintenance (I didnt have a appointment). Was told that I had to have one. I asked if I could leave it and pick it up that later that day or pick it up the next day. They made me a appointment for the next day for a oil change and tire rotation. That was in the service agreement that was prepaid. Had my better half pick the truck up. She was charged for the service. Called them the next business day, a Monday, asked how we can fix this. They return the call telling me that I need to come back for the rest of the service and I would have a check. I took it back, was informed that I have a appointment for a tire rotation, but dont know nothing about a check. Talked to the service manager by phone, was told she had no idea about this that she would bring it to me. I told her that I will not be in town, to give me a call back on Monday. NEVER got a call back. I had to call them. I was told that the general manager will call me back, that didnt happen. Got a call that they needed my address, gave it them. Got another call 4 days later. Have check, but not signed. I told them that if dont have this in my hand by Monday, I will see a 3rd party on this. This individual out of his own pocket brought it to me. I told him, THIS DEALER GIVES FORD A BAD NAME. But I want to make others aware of this establishment and this is not the FIRST time I have had problems with this dealer, BUT IT WILL BE MY LAST.
Ford Edge is a nice car and sharp looking. However, the panoramic sunroof gets stuck and won’t close sometimes. Also, Microsoft sync hard to use. Otherwise I love it and gets good gas mileage.
My husband purchased a brand new 2014 Super Duty 250 diesel in July of 2014. He works his truck here in Alberta, Canada. He arrived at work on Jan. 7, 2015. He backed into a parking spot. He left his truck running beside the building like he does every morning. He went in the building, started coffee and then started his paper work. About 15 mins. later his boss walks in, they talk about work. About another 15 minutes later, my husband then ask his boss if he hears a horn. It was a continuous horn. As he is standing to look, another employee walks in and told my husband his truck is burning down. He runs outside to see his truck on fire and windows exploding out of the truck! The fire fighter on scene deemed no foul play. My children rode in this vehicle! This all happened with in a matter of a half hour! He was also in to Ford a few weeks earlier about his engine smelling hot and a strange ticking. Unfortunately, there was NO work order wrote up!
Recently the company I work for decided to go with the Ford F-550 for all of our tanker trucks. WORST decision they ever made! We have Ram 5500s that have had NO problems with the weight they carry. They weigh in at 17,000 empty and 22,000 full. The F-550s we have are overloaded right out of the box... sitting on the overload springs completely empty! They go through brakes every 15-20k miles as opposed to the RAMs every 50-60k. The Ford rides like a log wagon and sways like you wouldnt believe. Also, if you are looking for a more user friendly interior then the RAM is the way to go. The Ford will also make you want to find the designer and tie him to an ant hill the first time you go to do maintenance on this nightmare of a design! Both trucks costing about the same... go with the RAM. If you choose the Ford... Good luck!
2016 Ford Escape 1.6 engine - I bought this Ford Escape because I have always bought Fords, American made. When I bought this Ford I was happy with the deal and the vehicle, shook the salesman hand and was told, Youre getting a really good vehicle here. You keep up the oil changes and get new tires when needed, you probably will have this vehicle for a very long time. I commute 170 miles round trip per day to work from home. Averaging about 35,000-40,000 per year. Current mileage was 85,000 miles when driving down the road and vehicle began to lose power and the engine RPM increased. On the cluster red wrench light came on transmission fault service now and I could not accelerate. And the car decelerated rapidly. I managed to get the vehicle back to the house. Started it the next morning and got about 3 miles from the house when it repeated the same issues.I arranged for a flatbed to transport my vehicle to the local Ford dealership to get the vehicle diagnosed. Was informed from the service rep that the computer was indicating No Pressure and Improper Gear Ratio. Was told that Ford recommends to replace the entire transmission, which quoted a price of $4,700.00 for the part and an additional $1,500 to $2,000 for labor to remove and install the transmission. Warranty on a replaced transmission would be 100,000 miles and 3 years. What I do not understand is if a replacement transmission has this warranty, why does not a transmission in a vehicle built from the factory have the same warranty? Vehicle was no longer under the Ford standard Powertrain Warranty of 60,000 miles so, cost was all out of pocket.Service rep made the recommendation of contact Ford Service Customer Care and submit a claim. Made the call that evening and within 2 days received a response, stating: We have thoroughly reviewed your request and after careful consideration we regret that Ford is not able to provide financial assistance to address your issue. We are sorry that we were not able to meet your expectations at this time and recommend you continue to work with your Ford dealership to provide the best service for your vehicle in the future. So much for customer care. I understand that the vehicle has 85,000 but still it is only a 2 year old vehicle. Under the Ford Maintenance Schedule for a 2016 Ford Escape, the transmission is not to be serviced till 150,000 miles, which is just an oil change. I have had this vehicle serviced religiously with Ford for all oil changes, tire rotations or any other mechanical issue. Always have had a multi-point inspection done as well on the vehicle. Just had this vehicle serviced the month prior to this event and received a green check across the board on everything.Would recommend having your transmission looked at more closely in this vehicle, can be a costly overlook to you by your Ford service department. Needless to say, was not happy with Ford handling of this situation and especially the Ford Customer Care Relationship Center. Must be easy for someone to push a button saying No, when they do not need to put their name on a response and account for their actions.
I purchased an F150 in Aug 2016, and my bank account was scammed in Feb 2017. In April 2017 Ford sent me a notice of default and right to cure. I discovered that Ford credit had not updated my personal information even though I had the car in service at the Ford dealer and gave my personal information on two separate occasions when I went to get the truck serviced. Ford credit stated they did not have my phone number so just put me on the bad credit list and threatened to repossess the truck even after I had placed $10,675 down to purchase the vehicle. The dealership was given my new information in February when I needed an oil change, but they did not enter it into their system. This is a reflection of the shoddy, greedy and poor customer service of the Ford Dealer. I will never purchase another shoddy vehicle from Ford again. I have been a loyal customer for over 20+ years and realized that Ford could care less. I will NEVER again purchase a Ford and will discourage anyone else from considering a Ford EVER.
38 days ago my new 2015 Ford F150 broke down with 8000 miles on it. A part in the transmission is defective. It has now been 38 days and I still do not have an ETA on the repair of this vehicle. Parts are not available for this truck. Ford has been completely uncooperative and unsupportive. While a rental car has been provided, they expect me to pay the difference between what they pay and the baseline price of the lowest level rental provided by the rental company. At this point they state that they will ship an entirely new transmission, however they have no ETA on this and it could be up to two more weeks until this is resolved. When I escalated this to Ford customer service the only resolution is to keep waiting. I have never experienced such poor customer service. I will be escalating this to legal means.
This car started off my dream car. I moved from Louisiana to California about 4 years ago and the troubles began. Apparently the car cannot handle the hills and inclines of San Diego. About a year after moving here I started having a slight thud after putting far in reverse. My husband said I just needed to let the motor wind down before putting in drive. It wasnt an everyday all the time problem. Just intermittent then last year it began to shut off on me going down the road. I would stop at a stop sign or red light and the car literally would crawl then hard bang and take off. The problems got more frequent and worse. I was involved in a frontal collision doing about 30 miles an hour, enough to send the other car that ran the red light into a 360 turn and not one air bag in the car went off. $13000.00 dollars worth of damage to the front end of my car and not one air bag inflated. Thank god we were all buckled up. After the accident I drove the car for about 2 weeks before the car literally sounded like it was grinding rocks, transmission slipping severely and I was afraid to drive it. I take it into the local Ford dealership and after having it for 2 days I get a call saying they cant figure it out. 10 minutes later they call and say its ready. I get there and Im told you need a new transmission. $5700 for a transmission that apparently has some defects from all of the other people Ive read complaining having the same issues! Ford should be ashamed for putting a transmission in a family car that is potentially unsafe and unreliable. Beware when buying one of these.
The 90 Ford Thunderbird is a good running and dependable vehicle. Also, smooth, perfect and easy driving. Very comfortable and good gas mileage, too. Nice interior and awesome car. However, I dislike the seats leaning back and power steering, how the brakes work, the radio in it, the color of the interior, the cars weird looking color, the tires, the old radio cassette player and dashboard, the vehicles slowness, how the seats set and how I have to pull seat up to drive the vehicle.
I bought my Ford F150 XLT brand new in 2010 and I have completely loved my truck! It has been great with no problems. So you can imagine how upset I am after only 93,000 miles my motor needs replaced because of how poorly the 4.6 engine was built. I would think the engine would last longer than that but I was wrong. My mechanic said that this has been the major problem with the 4.6 engine in these trucks so I am not sure why it never got recalled. Now I am out a pretty penny to get it fixed since it is my sole vehicle to get my family around in. I am not usually one to complain but this was defiantly an upset after spending $37,000 on the truck to begin with just to replace the engine 7 years later. Now that I will have a motor in it that was built right I should get a longer lifespan out of this truck!
Purchased my car in June 2019 and with that purchased came reward points equaling the amount of $220. Well after talking with FordPass once a week basically if not every other day I still havent received my points. They say the turn around time is I believe a month but we are going on 4 months. They say the file has been expedited the last four times. And with Ford being a big company they just dont care. Im just one person. Buyers beware of promises.
