Ford Automobile Reviews
For more than 100 years now, Ford Motor Company has been selling mass-produced automobiles in the United States and around the globe. Known as one of the Big Three American manufacturers, Ford has attracted millions of loyal customers with a wide range of vehicles that offer considerable value.

Paint is bubbling along edge of hood on passenger side. I understand, from other stories on Internet, prior TSBs and lawsuits, that this is due to contamination during painting (the hood is aluminum so would not rust). Ford and Ford dealer have no apparent interest in making this right.

2012 3.5 ltr Ecoboost. Shame on Ford. I purchased a used one owner 2012 with 90k miles on it. Got to use it for about 15k more miles and then it had the same problem so many others have. Timing chain issues. Quotes from 2500 to 3500 to repair. Very poor design for many year models. Ford should be ashamed for not taking care of such a major problem. I had to eat some major negative equity on a trade to be free of this problem. The days of holding your head high for being a Ford owner are long gone. Shame on you, Bill Ford.

I have a 2010 Ford Fusion Sport. I’ve been good to this car but it hasn’t been so good to me. In August of this year (2019) I would’ve had this car for 9 years. After many repairs later I’m starting to think I should give up. I’ve invested too much money into this car. Over this last weekend, I had to get my motor mounts done. For the second time! Conveniently enough, I got them done 4 years ago. Motor mounts failed again but guess what? Warranty is only 2 years. Another convenience is that when the repair was done, I went to pick my car up. Sure enough... 2 more problems. Power steering leaked out and ac doesn’t work. I’ve heard the horror stories of cars getting fixed just for the mechanics to break something else in the process. I’ve even recently had to get my left axle replaced. I’ve put in nearly 2 grand in repairs this year alone and the year hasn’t even met its halfway mark. Oh! And they also tell me my transmission might’ve been affected by the faulty motor mounts. It’s exasperating. After a long dialogue with a rep via Twitter direct messages, I’m exhausted and tired of explaining the story over and over again. They just seem to give me generic responses saying they can’t find any warranties or programs that can help me. They asked for my VIN and my mileage. I’ve pretty much poured my heart out to them explaining that I have two kids and I’m a single father struggling to keep the bills paid but they don’t seem to care. It’s crazy how Toyotas and Hondas even Chevys are out here still kicking since 92 and even older with their original engine components. What a rip off. I’ll never buy ford again. If I were to even win a new Ford in a contest I’d trade it immediately for a more reputable company brand car. Thanks a lot Ford. For nothing. But in all seriousness. Thanks to Joe at my local ford dealer for trying his best. But, at this point, I can’t keep doing it anymore. I refuse to put anymore money into this car. I’m done.

My overall experience is very great with this Mercury Mariner. I live in the northeast and I havent gotten stuck with this car at all. It is used, but it hasnt given me a problem. This vehicle has a lot of features that made me choose it. It was the first vehicle I test drove. I loved the sunroof, heated leather seats. I also like that it is AWD all the time. I enjoy the stock CD and sound. But I dont like the mpg of this car. It is a v6. I would have liked to have a navigation screen, a backup camera, and an information center with displaying mpg to empty and warning messages.

I just traded my 2013 Edge to get the new and improved 2015 Edge... Have the EcoBoost 4 cylinder in both and the 2015 improvement on the motor is great but the rest I am not impressed. It came with the cheap mats Ford installs and so I ordered the all weather mats for another 95.00 only to find the driver mat doesnt even go up under the pedals where most of the crud falls off... Whats up with that Ford. I sure some DS blamed his accident on a pedal catching on the mat. Next the driver seat is terrible uncomfortable with the seat portion bolster way higher than the seat so I carry my weight on the outside of my thighs. I am not a huge guy at 5-9 190 either... Other complaint is they shrunk the controls behind the steering wheel and I find them more difficult to use. They are quieter inside but overall I wish I had my trade money back and still driving my 2013 Edge... Not really any improvement overall in my book. I will be looking for something else in a couple years for sure.

I bought a Ford Fusion. Shortly after buying it and the extended warranty the heat on the drivers seat would not shut off and kept getting hotter and hotter to the point it burnt my leg! I still have a mark! I called the place I bought it from they told me to call Ford. I called Ford and they pretty much told me, Oh well. They wouldnt help me with anything! Never again will I buy a Ford!!! So much for the extended warranty! Rip off! Theyre lucky I dont sue them!

To be brief: More than a dozen phone calls. More than half a dozen emails. Two different Map Update Drives. Poor Customer Service - No knowledge of system, careless attitude, multiple call you backs (without a call back). No follow up. Completely messed up Navigation System in vehicle. System will not update, continues to flash screen throughout the day while driving about incomplete update, voice command Nav totally disabled, maps reverted to earlier version with missing data. Suggestion: Dont buy a FORD. They dont understand the tech they put in their vehicles and will give you the run around hoping you will go away instead of fixing the problem.

Just like everyone else here, I had a front spring (passengers side) on my 2002 Ford Taurus break and puncture my tire at a cost of $434, plus $103 for the tire. Being a former Ford dealership parts department manager, I know that there was a Field Service Action (recall) that did not involve the company actually calling the vehicles in to have the springs replaced, but provided extended warranty coverage for vehicles that experienced problems. I personally sold over 300 pairs of springs during the last year I worked. My vehicle no longer had coverage, like many of yours, apparently because either the vehicle was too old or had too many miles. I hate that I cant remember the FSA number or the age and mileage limitations.

On Oct 2010, my truck was parked and half hour later burst into flames. I have been run around by Ford for a year. I am now going to sue Ford after a year of being given the run around. It is clear it was caused by the cruise control switch. The truck is a 2002 Harley Davidson that was always maintained.

This was in 2017, my 2016 Ford Transit Connect Sunroof curtain was jammed and will not close when my warranty mileage was still under 30k miles. When I called the Ford dealer in Hagerstown MD to look at it they told me to bring it in on their next available date which was almost 1 wk plus away. I told them that I was traveling out of state; anyway when I finally took the van to them they told me that my warranty was 1k 100 miles off to call Ford motors. When I called them they told me to call my branch dealer which I told that I have already did & they told me that they cant do anything about it. So now Im stucked with this defective curtain rail that will not close. Still Love my little Transit connect.

I bought a brand new Mustang GT in the summer of 18. I traded a pristine 14 JKU and a 2003 Corvette in on this car. 2 vehicles I loved very much. The Jeep was still like brand new with almost no miles. Anyway, I bought this Mustang and drove this thing very cautiously hoping a gentle break in would ensure long drivetrain longevity. This car has never even done a burnout. Well, the engine started making a rattling noise like a diesel Around 500 miles. The interior had a random rattle and the transmission would often grind going in to 3rd and 4th as well as being resistant to pull out of 3rd gear. This car zat for a total of 32 days in the few months I owned it. Ford put a new short block in it at 2,000. Basically the car was no longer brand new as the front end was completely disassembled. I asked Ford for an msrp swap and they said no. I asked them to reimburse me the amount of monthly payments in proportion to how long the car zat and they said no because they dont have confidence Ill stay with the brand. I traded 2 fantastic vehicles for this pile of garbage and Ford had no interest in satisfying their customer. I buy a new car every few years and had Ford treated me well they would have had another guaranteed sale from me as I bought my wife a new car in Dec 19. We were going to buy an Explorer. Unfortunately Ill NEVER buy another Ford and I urge you to research the engine/ transmission failures in basically every Ford model in production. Im making it a life mission to share my experience with the general public in hopes that I can prevent them from having the same horrific experience I did. Have a nice day.

I was asleep and my husband took our son to school which is a mile away. He gets home and starts to get ready for work and someone came to our door to tell us his truck was on fire. He went outside, turned on hose and called 911. We had to evacuate our kids and animals to the backyard. My brother’s motorcycle which was parked next to the truck also caught fire. Melted our garage door and luckily firemen got here before it hit our house. This is insane and Ford should take responsibility for this as it could have killed someone or caught our home on fire.

I financed a vehicle two and a half years ago, at 9.00%, but theyve been charging me much more than that. In July 2011, I owed $17,678.00. I pay $399.00/mo., yet as of today, I still owe $16,100.00. This cannot be right. Do I have any recourse, please? Thank you.

Our 2011 Ford Edge has a leaky Transmission Power Unit (google Ford TPU leak to find more information), about 2,000 miles beyond than extended warranty. The cost to replace is estimated to be $1,800. I filed a case (**) with Ford and after multiple calls they still refuse to offer any compensation. This is the last Ford vehicle I will ever buy - why be loyal to Ford when their loyalty is a joke?

Ford Motor Company ignored and did not respond to our complaint about serious defect in the cruise control! We have a 2021 Ford Transit 3500 with only 2,200 miles. While cruise was set at 70 mph driving on I-5 in Late October it slowed automatically to about 40 MPH while in right lane as we were approaching a traffic slow down in both lanes. We moved into the left passing lane at about 35 MPH at that time and traffic was starting to slow down when suddenly and surprisingly the Adaptive Cruise Control accelerated violently towards a vehicle in the left lane which was stopping quickly directly in front of us. It was like we were going into warp drive on Star Trek Enterprise with another truck almost stopped right before us! It happened so fast that it seemed hitting the brakes did not slow us down or cancel the cruise control. We had a horrible collision with the truck in front of us at maybe going about 45 to 50MPH causing deployment of the front airbags. It has been so very disappointing that Ford Motor Company did not respond to my appeal on 10/29/2021 to answer our concern when I communicated with the online representative on the Ford Website. The associate I communicated with would not answer my questions or address the issue so I asked for her to forward this concern to her supervisor or manager, which she agreed to. I also called the general Manager at Damerow Ford in Beaverton Oregon and explained the situation. I had ordered the truck through them from the factory. The result was also zero help and guidance also.My auto insurance carrier did not want to address this issue saying that since the personal injury was minor it did not merit them getting involved investigating the possible defect in Fords product. We sustained back and neck injury and are still experiencing pain from the wreck 2 months ago. Also the truck is at a dealer now awaiting repairs and rebuilding. I would like to recommend that to save lives, injury and damage to property that Adaptive cruise control from Ford Motor Company be used with extreme caution until the manufacturer stops ignoring this concern and does their job to protect their customer.

I just bought a 2016 Ford FX4 crew cab truck. I have been driving Ford vehicles all my life and thought I would never even consider another make. Well, that may change. This truck has been a big disappointment from day one. Following is my review... I switched from a 3.5 EcoBoost to a 2.7 EcoBoost in hopes that I would get better mileage. Not only is it worse than the 3.5, the economy readout on the dash is consistently 2.5-3.5 mpg less than the actual mileage. I have Checked every tank since I bought it. The Ford SYNC is a joke. The most user unfriendly system I have encountered. And I leave my iPod connected all the time and never touch it. The radio recognizes it about 50% of the time. I have changed power cords twice thinking there may be a short. But no change. If it was a short it would also affect it while playing. But when it plays it works perfectly. The driver side window does what it wants to sometimes. It may go down when you want it up. Or vice versa. The structural rigidity of this truck is nothing like my 2014. It jiggles and shakes like a 1981 Pontiac when on uneven pavement. The worst gas filler ever! Every time I lock the fuel nozzle on and wait for it to fill up, it clicks off the nozzle like its supposed to, but you better not be standing behind it! Almost every fill up dumps a quart of gas all over the ground. The driver door speaker is already buzzing and vibrating. The coating in the bed is useless. Its like a sheet of greasy ice. Everything slides all over the bed, so I have to lock it down. I have yet to figure out how the trailer back up assist works. For the amount of money this truck costs, Ford really screwed up on this one. I will be looking elsewhere soon. Id like to have my 2014 back.

I own a 2012 Ford Edge with 40,000 miles on it. The leather seats are falling apart because of inferior quality leather. Ford will not take responsibility for their use of shoddy materials. Beware of Ford vehicles with leather because the leather is extremely low quality. My car with cloth seats is twice as old and shows no wear. My Ford Edge is a disgrace. And because of Ford Motor Companys lack of concern. No more Fords for me.

At the beginning of June I was lucky enough to notice that one of my doors was not closing before I left my parking spot. I had the car towed in to a Ford service center and was expecting it to have it fixed within a couple of days. I mean it is just a door latch (which they made out of PLASTIC by the way). After a few days of waiting I find out that they want to hold onto the car until at least September, for some reason they dont have this simple part anywhere in stock. Thats at least 3 MONTHS without a car that I am paying monthly and they are offering some rental car reimbursement for a small compact car which is only about $30 a day and I think the cheapest rental car is $35, nowhere near the value of the car I am leasing from them. If it was only for a week or two then I would have no problem with that. I have called them numerous times in order to work something out, maybe get the same value car rental compared to the one I am leasing, but they dont want to do anything. The customer means NOTHING to this company. You are absolutely 0 to them. As long as they are getting money from you they dont care how you are being inconvenienced.I had the pleasure of speaking to the regional manager of Ford in NY and she was utterly useless. The first time she called she couldnt even locate the car after I gave her the VIN and the dealership where the car is located. The second time she called she basically told me she cant do anything using her resources, another word I heard thrown around while on the phone with them. Its like they work on favors. She made it sound like I should feel privileged that they are even offering me a rental in the first place. She told me that the dealer can use their resources, again this word, and try to get the part faster or something. They are basically making me call everyone for them instead of them solving the issue. Its not my job do that, its theirs. Its the reason why they get paid. In my opinion this person gets paid for no reason and her job should be given to someone else that can actually help the customer. So to review: stuck 3 months without a car I am paying for, Ford is offering a partial reimbursement for a rental, Ford regional manager is useless (she does anything but manage). I will never in my life consider buying/leasing a Ford product again (including Lincoln).

I know Ford sells quite a few vehicles, but I hope that none of you Ford owners get a Lemon! I did and they agreed to do the right thing, but 5 shop visits, 65+ days out of service, and 6 months after they agreed to refund/replace a truck that is not even a year old... I am still waiting! All information has been turned in and have now gone thru 2 reps that do nothing including answering phone calls or returning emails. What is going on Ford Motor Company?

I tell everyone I know to stay as far away from Ford as possible! They are liars and they will do everything and anything to ruin people. They will ruin your credit over $44.00 instead of contacting the customer. They tell you they didn’t have your phone number to contact you even though you have proof that you received a call and spoke with someone 2 weeks earlier. They are out to ruin people!!!

We own a 2016 Ford eco boost F150 truck. At 20000 miles it had a catastrophic engine failure. The spark plug went into the piston which went into the head and destroyed it. We had it repaired at a Ford garage and after 3 weeks picked it up and on the way home from Alabama to Pennsylvania it failed on the interstate with major engine failure. At the time we were towing a trailer and used road side assist. We paid out of our pocket because they said we had to and have yet to be reimbursed even though they say we are approved and should never have had to pay ourselves. The truck had been repaired with zip ties and they did not hold and the fuel rail let fuel go over where and 6 heads needed replaced. We were told it was lucky we didn’t have a fire. We are asking for a buy back but we can’t get a response and none of our expenses have been paid. We were traveling and had hotel bills and rental vehicles as the parts for the first repair were not available. Disappointed in Ford.

I purchased a New 2017 F250 Lariat in June of 2017. IT IS A LEMON! I went through 5 trips for repairs with no success. The vehicle drifts to the right among other things. I went through arbitration with the BBB. This was forced do to signing an agreement to arbitrate when I bought the truck. The arbitrator found the truck to be unsafe but allowed Ford one more chance to repair (another month) with the same results, UNSAFE. I was then awarded a buy back. With a substantial cost for 6200 miles accumulated. It has been nearly a month and Fords repurchase department is not responding, I am told any day now. Thirteen months of living with a $70,000 lemon and Ford acts like it is my fault. WARNING WARNING. Stay away from FORD. They dont care after they get your money.

I bought my Ford F150 XLT brand new in 2010 and I have completely loved my truck! It has been great with no problems. So you can imagine how upset I am after only 93,000 miles my motor needs replaced because of how poorly the 4.6 engine was built. I would think the engine would last longer than that but I was wrong. My mechanic said that this has been the major problem with the 4.6 engine in these trucks so I am not sure why it never got recalled. Now I am out a pretty penny to get it fixed since it is my sole vehicle to get my family around in. I am not usually one to complain but this was defiantly an upset after spending $37,000 on the truck to begin with just to replace the engine 7 years later. Now that I will have a motor in it that was built right I should get a longer lifespan out of this truck!

Driving yesterday at 80 km/h, when huge thumping noise started. Thought that my right rear tire had come off. Stopped immediately, tire was still on. Got a couple of my mechanically minded friends to look at the vehicle, they thought it might be the hanger bearing on the 2 piece drive shaft that had failed.I drove it at 3 km/h to a local garage about 5 km away to diagnose it. They suggested that they replace the entire drive shaft with another where the u bolts and the hanger bearing can be replaced. Apparently, the engineering design of the 2008 Ford F150 drive shaft is such that the hanger bearing cannot be replaced, that switching out the entire drive shaft is the only remedy. My concern is that a drive shaft failing after only 33,000 km is extraordinary. And Ford Canada should be willing to do something to help their customer.

Every aspect of my 1st six months with Ford has been terrible.... The dealership was nothing but a typical bait and switch used car dealership even though I buy a new $54k truck.... I did all the negotiations via the phone only for the dealership (halfway through paper signing) state they quoted me the wrong truck. I could go on with another 1000 words. Lets move to Ford credit. 4 phone calls to set up auto pay and to find out that you can not AUTOMATICALLY pay each month over the monthly amount. You can manually make additional payments but can’t be set up automatically.Lets chat about service: My Touch went out in less than 4 months.... brought it in... Service says needs to order parts. 3 weeks later no follow-up except the email from the service department ask about the lengthy list of service they performed. Guess what? They didn’t do any of these services. And never followed up on the 1 thing I did ask them to do. I wonder if they billed Ford Motor Company for these bogus services. UGH come on Ford. Its 2019. Get rid of the bs sales tactics, update your finance software, and get a real service dept.

I will definitely add images of my Ford F150 truck explosions and how quick
I will definitely add images of my Ford F150 truck explosions and how quickly the truck burned up our home. My favorite Ford F150 4X4 $45,000.00 Lariat SuperCrew truck (which I usually park inside my home/garage) burned and exploded several times, burning down my home (especially half the home/roof). Flames and black smoke filled the home entirely. Ford advertised for years their Ford trucks are built Ford tough. My stepbrother, a 20-plus years New York police officer, worked many overtime hours at and around ground zero (after 9/11) and I decided to buy American, put money back into building the American economy after 9/11, help Americans keep their jobs in the car manufacturing business, etc. So I purchased a new 2001-2001 Ford F150 4x4 SuperCrew Lariat truck with the best intentions based on supporting the American economy after 9/11 and based on Fords advertisement for many years that Ford trucks are built Ford tough.Nevertheless, I found out at 12:30 am, August 10, 2006, after discovering my truck burning and exploding with flames shooting from the hood and quickly engulfing the truck, flames spreading and quickly covering my home, etc. Then years later, after being lied to and lied on repeatedly day after day, month after month, year after year, 5-6 years down the horrible road of complete fall out after a fire disaster and our lives have been completely disrupted, torn apart, traumatized so severely my health, family and a good decent spacious home, nicely furnished, great property and everything else has been ripped away and destroyed to a point of no return as a direct result of the horrible mistreatment, we were received by Ford Motor Co. and their investigators and representatives. We were told 5-6 years after the fire that Ford has had this problem since early 1990s and have allowed people to purchase their vehicles without sending customers recall notices; thus, many families and children have died in Ford fires and have had serious health issues that often lead to death as a result of the significant stress from dealing with the mistreatment by Ford and their affiliates, etc. See also Fire Under the Hood,” which discussed how a four-year-old beautiful soul, Blake Washington, died after the familys Ford Expedition spontaneously burned up in their garage. The family suffered for years after being mistreated, ignored, and disrespected so horribly. Blakes mom died 4-5 years later (around February 2009) from a broken heart, auto-immune system failure and many stress-related health issues spiraling from her losses. Around 2009-2011, I read an article written by Blakes mom and dad, Tanika and Juan Washington (a military family). They wrote a detailed article about how bad Ford and Texas Instruments treated them after their Ford Expeditions defect caused a fire and burned their home and daughter. When will the President, U.S. Congress, and responsible officials help all of us who have had our lives ruined and experienced significant losses as a direct result of Ford Motor Co., Texas Instrument, and DuPonts pure negligence and criminal responsibility of making defective products costing billions of dollars that they know cause significant loss of life, liberty, privacy, property and that has systematically destroyed the entire lives of many families? We need responsible officials to help, such as the, U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. President, Congress, the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Brenan Center for Justice and MoveOn.org, Change.Org and every human rights and U.S. Constitutional rights organizations and attorneys who are not afraid to step up and help make the lives better of millions of Americans citizens and millions of U.S. military families who have suffered profusely. As long as Ford Motor Co., Texas Instruments, DuPont, and all the Ford dealerships can get away with making billions in profits knowingly selling defective products that cause loss of life, health, property, etc., these companies will continue to do so without any mercy whatsoever on the American public. A little injustice anywhere leads to a whole lot of injustice everywhere. And when good people know that evil exist and fail to take action to stop it, then they too are just as evil as those committing evil act. This is nothing less than homegrown domestic terrorism: to purchase a truck thats like a ticking time bomb. You never know when it’ll explode. We learned 5 years after the fire by an expert in our case that when the gears start sticking in park or drive and you have to wiggle the gear handle to change gears, thats a sign that the vehicle is in trouble. Its a very, very small minor technicality that people dont even think twice about when they may have a little trouble changing gears from park to reverse or drive and most people are rushing off to get to work, home, etc., and never even suspecting this is a small signal to a major product defect. Ford would rather wait you out with their highly paid attorneys than pay middle class or working poor people any significant compensation to get your life back on track and make you whole after their trucks caused disaster.

I have a 2013 Ford Edge limited with throttle body issues. There are pages and pages and pages of complaints online but ford will not recall the vehicle. The car loses power and will not allow you to press the gas, it basically just rolls until you roll to a safe or not so safe place to pull over. I had this issue within the first two years of the purchase. It was repaired about 8 months ago and now again. It having the same issue. The salesman knew there was an issue and even said that he just drove a brand new one off the lot that had the same issue. FORD EDGE THROTTLE BODY NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE DIES!!!

Its been over 3 months since I have reported issues with Sync and Navigation to the Ford Dealer and over a month since I wrote to the President NA, of Ford. They did respond and send a FSE to a service dealership to resolve the issue. He upgraded the software and said this will fix everything, I dont think he even checked if the problem is resolved. I have had my Edge back from them for 9 days and the problem is the same, they wanted videos of the issues which I sent them and have followed up. It seems they have only FSE for SYNC in NA and they are waiting for him to return to MI. Its obvious that customers are not important to Ford, I suppose Ford is what Mercury used to be!!

Back in 2005 I purchased a brand new 2005 Ford Freestar, it had a faulty torque converter, and was replaced in 2013. Now then 1 year later I had the same problem (torque converter). I just got off the phone with a tech. at the Ford dealer and told him what happened... he said its not covered a recall is a 1 time fix, so even though they replaced my torque converter with another faulty 1 its not their problem... I dont think thats fair, but then again what do I know, Im just a consumer... What can a person do???

Purchase new Ford F-250. They have been running commercials about family discounts for Florida after Hurricane. Called Ford direct and was told it is only for people that already have Ford financing that they are giving extra time to make payments. A total lie as compared to their B.S commercial.

I love that for a small hatchback it sits higher and has more headroom than all its peers. It has excellent acceleration as well as a very responsive ABS braking system, compared to its competitors in this class. The Ford Sync system and USB plug-ins were state-of-the-art when I bought it in 2013, and still work great. It has good shocks and very comfortable seats with lumbar support. The split, lay-flat rear seat gives a huge cargo space for a small car. Of all the hybrids in this class, this one sounded like the best on paper and turned out to meet or exceed my expectations...and still gets nearly 40 mpg on the highway. The one thing that wasnt well made was the handle release for lowering the rear seats. One side broke away from the cables under the seat so it doesnt work to lower the seat and is very expensive to fix- requires a total seat replacement, over $1000. So not worth it to me now.

We bought a 2011 F150 brand new. We like the truck except for the shake we have in it. Every time we use it now, it shakes & we are scared that something will happen to it after the warranty is up. The first time we towed our 5th wheel travel trailer with it, it shook. When we got back home, we went to our dealership & they were more than willing to try to help us. They got in contact with Ford Motor Company & did everything that they were told to do. WE are more than happy with our dealership but we are totally disappointed in Ford Motor Company, as they will not do anything else to fix the problem. We have been calling them for 28 months now & all they have offered us was $1,000.00 towards another new truck. We have spent more than that just traveling back & forth to the dealership trying to get help from them.We have had 23 Ford automobiles in the last 40 years. We have been loyal to the Ford company all of these years but I guess our Loyalty doesnt mean much to Ford Motors. Three of our trucks was well over 65,000.00. I guess this goes to show it doesnt matter how much money you give them, you are not worth the effort to help us or gives a real good deal on another truck. Oh well, maybe some other company will be better to us, as we will not be buying a new FORD TRUCK in the near future.

My wife and I bought a 2012 Ford Flex limited with 42k miles in July of 2015 due to expecting twin babies. Well, it hasnt even been a full year and only 13k miles later and we are already having to spend $1100 on replacing the rack and pinion. Ive owned a BUNCH of vehicles in my life so far with FAR more miles than this and never had to have anything major replaced like this. I am disgusted at the reliability of this vehicle especially on how much it cost in the first place. I will NEVER buy a Ford again. There are too many other options out there.

May of 2012 we purchased a brand new Ford f150. Less than 2 years later (before 50000 miles) we noticed the check engine light and airbag light came on. Took it in and got charged to do diagnostic test $75 with a warranty. Ford told us someone has to get paid for the work. Results were a fuel sensor. Our gauges are off. We can have a full tank of gas and it says empty and even alarms us. We can be driving and put the truck in neutral, turn it off and on and it will then give a reading. The check engine light is not always on and same with the airbag. Never got a reason for the airbag. The Ford mechanic claims there are no problems. We even had an experience once while driving we noticed smoke coming from under the drivers seat and smelled a hot smell. We pulled over to check it out and it stopped and we found nothing wrong or signs of burning. We feel ripped off and with the mechanics claiming nothing is wrong (when we know there is). We feel cheated and endangered.

I ended up trading in my 2013 Ford Escape and got a really good deal. I found the sales person to be honest, very approachable, and knowledgeable. I was informed of what the car would automatically come with and what would be an additional charge. I was given information about the various warranties both verbally and in writing. My mother is currently on hospice. The Elkins Ford Edge team was most accommodating. I am most pleased with my 2019 Ford Edge St.

In 2005 my husband I purchased a 2000 Ford Windstar with 95,000 miles on it. Keep good upkeep on it. Blew a head gasket, as did two friends who owned Windstars. Owned a 1989 Areostar, motor blew. Bought 1999 Aerostar, lots of issues. Bought a 2005 Ford Taurus this past Nov. Rear suspension problems, left rear body was rubbing the tire. Had the struts replaced on both rear, but the left is still rubbing the tire on even small bumps so, I guess we will be replacing the springs. Any time I slow down on the highway, I cant get back to speed fast all all. It bogs down. If I press more on the gas it chugs like it going to die. Have to gradually pick up speed then I feel it kick in and go, then its fine til I have to slow down again. In town it sputters and chugs, surges. I bought this car thinking it would be safer than the 99 Aerostar...but I am scared in both vehicles now. Throwing money into them left and right. I know old cars are gonna have problems but this is unreal. I am still paying the 05 Taurus off. I keep saying each time we go get a new vehicle, I am not ever buying another Ford, I want a Chevy. But it is hard to find lower priced Chevys used because people seem to keep them forever. Fords are everywhere, so I keep buying other peoples headaches. Now I must replace all the springs on the 05, in fear of killing my grandson that is only 4 years old. I have finally established credit with my bank on this one and as soon as its paid off, Im getting a loan for a Chevy that I know I can trust and getting rid of this headache. Never a Ford again! Its pretty sad that I have a 96 Old Cutlass that I hit a big pregnant black angus at night at 65 miles per hour and still runs and drives better than any of the others.

This is dangerous; they should not be breaking. The left front tire blew out when I was backing out of the garage. When I removed the tire, I noticed that the coil spring had broken, leaving a jagged edge. The edge ripped out the sidewall of the tire (a fairly new studded snow tire that will be expensive to replace).

Truck has 40,000 miles on the odometer when it had a reading on dash panel that said service advance trac, also the turn signals would not work, took it to Ford service dept where they performed pin point test - found an internal fault in the power steering control sensor. Steering gear assumable needs to be replaced (this power rack is a 12volt system). They want $1,325 to replace. Ford has a better idea, called job security.

Id purchased a slightly used ford fusion but upon the garages inspection they hadnt bolted the calipers in place so it was being fixed. I had a loan of Taurus I was hit head on by a jeep grand Cherokee and it ran over the driver’s side of car, spun me around, tore their own tire completely off wires wheel and all but didnt even crack the windshield or dent the hood. There were tire tracks directly in from of my line of vision. Im glad the airbag blocked the view of underside of it. I did shortly after purchase an expedition smaller vehicles Im nervous in but do believe if Id had a different manufacturer the outcome would have been significantly worse.

I am embarrassed to say that I have continued to purchase Ford products through the years even though they have proven to be poorly manufactured. Well I have finally learned my lesson. Never again will I purchase a Ford vehicle. Some examples, Explorer 30,000 miles cracked engine block, Excursion 52,000 miles transmission failure, Expedition tailgate paint bubbling off (they all do), Raptor 50,000 miles garage kept. A hole rusted through the bed (common).Fords response to all of these defects Drop Dead. If you wish to experience the absolute worst imaginable customer service call (800) 392-3673. I honestly felt as though they were mentally challenged so I escalated the case first to Matt ** never replied then Phill badge # ** big zero then Brian badge # ** bigger zero and finally the head supervisor Rose ** whom I would best describe her as robotic nit wit unable to respond beyond cookie cutter prepared answers. As a small business owner I purchase multiple vehicles annually as well as personal vehicles so over the course of the last 35 years I have purchased more than 100 new vehicles. The majority of which were Fords. In 2017 alone F350 $50,000.00, A Expedition EL $70,000 and most recently a Raptor $70,000.00. So I hope Mr. Ford reads this and terminates each and every one of the inept, indifferent individuals at Ford who misrepresent themselves as a customer service department.

I bought a Ford car because I was tired of people in my community harassing me for not buying American. I previously owned a Toyota and a Mini Cooper. Sadly, Ford sold me a lemon. I took delivery on a Fiesta that came out of factory missing a wiring harness! I asked to replace this lemon. Instead, the service department at the dealership was sheepish about the problem. After a 40 minute wait, the workers emerged. They finally told me about the wiring harness after they said that it had already just been installed. Problem solved. There were other problems, but I racked up mileage and was told that my car is out of warranty, so Id have to pay for the repairs. Now, I have a key fob problem. Both the customer service representatives and the dealership are giving me the run around because replacement costs run over $250. Every time I get someone on the phone, their response changes. I was better off NOT buying a Ford.

I am on my 3rd Ford Vehicle. The first 2 were used and had issues. I thought if I bought new and kept up with maintenance it would last... I was wrong! Under 7 years old and 53,000 miles, I have a list of issues and Ford does not stand behind their product. The Dealership charges absorbent fees just to look at the issues, not even fix them. They really know how to push away customers. I took my car to another auto shop and I am now excited to buy my first Toyota. Dont buy Ford. You will regret it. I do.

I just read the posts and what happened to my truck was exactly what I read - 2000 F150 extended Cab, excellent condition, low mileage, parked for 5 hours, then spontaneous combustion. The engine looks like it was nuked. Though I am sure the Insurance will cover it, but not nearly the value of the truck or the contents that were destroyed. Does Ford provide any compensation?
2014 FORD EDGE - A high pitch noise started coming from engine compartment
2014 FORD EDGE - A high pitch noise started coming from engine compartment one evening with the vehicle sitting in the garage. The next morning the car was totally dead. Jumped it and local mechanic diagnosed it to a mechanism sticking in the transmission. With only 50,000 miles on the car he recommended dealer service since it should be warrantied still. Already knowing the problem, I made an appointment with the nearest Ford dealer, who was an hour away. I gave them all the information from my mechanic and they gave me a rental car so I could get home and work the next day.The following day they call and say the professionally installed aftermarket auto-start was malfunctioning and they unhooked it and the car was now fine. So I have to pay for the rental car and the shop time, couple hundred dollars. The day after I get home with my wifes car it will not start again. I put a charger on the battery and it will not take a charge. The dealer says they will warranty the battery so I bring it down again to get the battery replaced on a Saturday morning. This will be my 3rd round trip to the dealer, which is an hour away. They replace the battery but make me pay 50 dollars for the new one. The only reason the battery got wrecked was because they left the car outside after I dropped it off and allowed it to drain completely. This should not have happened. I specifically told them they need to bring the car in or put a battery maintainer on it due to the mechanism drawing power constantly with the car off. But they tell me it was not their fault and I have to pay for the battery. After paying for the battery and again being reassured that the auto-start is still the problem and it has been unhooked so I can drive the car until it is repaired, I head to my vehicle to go home. As I approach the car I hear the same high pitch noise that started the whole ordeal! So I promptly go back into the service department and bring the service manager out to hear the noise and tell him it still is not fixed and I am not leaving until they figure it out. They bring it in and actually do a diagnostic on the car and discover that the mechanism is sticking! Exactly what my original, non FORD TECHNICIAN, diagnosed two weeks earlier. They tell me they need to get it in to do more tests before they can order a part but it will not be for 3 weeks until they can look at it again.3 WEEK LATER. I drop the car off, not yet even knowing if they will be covering the repairs under warranty yet or not on this less than 2 yr old vehicle with just over 50000 miles on it. The next day they call and say they have to replace the mechanism and it will be under warranty. It is going be a few days to get the part and get it done. Understandable and we await them calling to tell us it is done.A few days go by and no word. I call and the Service manager says they put the part in but need to do more tests. He calls me back a few hours later and says the computer that is controlling the drive train is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced. It is under warranty and they are waiting on the part. I call them next week for a status, my wife and I both work full time and live 8 mile out of town so we rely on 2 vehicles. With different schedules to keep and her needing a vehicle to transport items during the day, we have been begging and borrowing rides for a month already. They say it is on back order and it will be another month and a half until the part is received. I ask if there is any kind of rental assistance or a loaner vehicle we can use until it is fixed. The main reason I am concerned is this is a week before christmas and that is the busiest time of the year for my wife and I and the worst time to be down to one vehicle. They tell me to come get a rental and Ford should cover it. A few days after we get the rental, the dealer calls and says Ford will not pay for a rental and we are going to have to pay for it ourselves. At this point I have made 5 trips to the dealer, who is an hr away one way, paid for mechanic time, battery replacement, and car rental on a problem that should have been covered under warranty. So I ask who I need to talk to about this because I feel as if the dealer is not handling it properly. I get referred to a regional manager 3 TIMES from for customer service and finally on the 3rd time the manager calls me. He, very rudely and arrogantly tells me that warranty does not cover rental or car assistance and we dont qualify for assistance programs. I ask him why we dont and he tells me that he cannot tell me why and he has the final say on it.So I call for corporate offices, feeling like there is no way they could treat someone so ** and care so little for their customers and their satisfaction with their products. After speaking with a very pleasant customer relations lady, the next day the dealer calls and says they will cover the car until the 1st of the year. The status as of today is we still do not have our car fixed. We returned the rental car and paid another 114 dollars for keeping 3 days past the 1st of the year, even though they were not open on the 1st to return the vehicle anyway. And we have no idea when we will even get our vehicle fixed because Ford cannot tell the dealer when a part will be available. Problem started November 10th 2015 and this was written on January 6th 2016. Do NOT buy any FORD PRODUCTS EVERY! Warning! Horrible customer service!

The Mercury Mountaineer was fun to drive, spacious interior, good mileage on long drives, roomy cargo area, comfortable seating for driver and passengers. The air quality of the air conditioning system was very good. But they could improve the interior fabrics. It was a used car that I purchased from the owner. The price was great for the car and it was kept in very good condition. I like the fact that it was a sport utility vehicle which is what I wanted to buy. The owner provided all the maintenance records for the vehicle. I really liked the car as it was. I would buy another one of these vehicles with no questions or concerns.

Need to know the review of used Ford Escape, 2013. Had bought Ford Fiesta in 2012, and eventually, Ford bought it back as a lemon. Put the money in the bank, and loaned dtr 5K to buy 14 Ford Taurus. A mistake, so far, a new windshield is needed, deep scratches need repair (dealer trying to get out of that one). This dealer has sold my family more than 5 cars. Maybe this is the year I change dealers.

The Transit Connect wagon is a surprisingly well appointed mini van costing much less than the competitors. This vehicle has been a big hit in Europe for several years and is now breaking into the US market. It has great visibility, a very responsive engine, and plenty of room for 6 passengers. It drives and handles well. I especially like that the back seats fold down flat. We can safely haul our 4 dogs in 4 midsize hard shell dog crates (two side by side in the back, and two facing either sliding side doors) and still have room for gear and luggage. I’m very fond of the wireless cellphone cubby in the dash, no changing cables! It has separate climate controls and comfortable heated seats for the driver and front passenger.

Ford Flex SE 4dr Crossover 2013 car and I am experiencing for the 2nd time a door ajar issue. I fixed one door already and now a 2nd door is having the issue. Not a big problem but it triggers the alarm to go off randomly. And of course it goes off in the middle of the night 2 am, 5 am, its 3 nights in a row!!! I chatted with Ford and they took my feedback and ignored my issue. Online there are tons people experiencing this issue and Ford does not care or do a recall or fix it!!! WOW. Such terrible service. I have been a Ford driver for 30 years but this will be my last Ford!!!

I have been a Ford Customer for over 30 years and I will NEVER buy another Ford. Ford refuses to cover the corrosion that is spreading on the hood of my 2014 Explorer. Now the paint is starting to chip off as well. Ford is well aware of this issue with several Ford models and will NOT do anything about it. (The local Ford Body Shop Manager told me so.) The issue is due to inadequate prep work before painting the vehicle. I have been going back and forth with Ford for over 6 months. I even sent a letter to the Ford Board of Directors. Ford simply does NOT care. FORD DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR VEHICLES!At first Ford tried to say that the warranty is 3/36000 miles, but later admitted that the warranty is actually 5 years/unlimited miles. Then they stated: Corrosion Warranty covers body sheet metal panels against corrosion due to a defect in factory supplied materials or workmanship. Corrosion coverage only applies if the corrosion causes perforation (holes) in body sheet metal panels. Corrosion Warranty coverage begins at the warranty start date and lasts for five years, regardless of miles drive. This is a defect in factory workmanship!

We purchased a 2016 Fusion from Auto Nation in Union City GA. The auto shift clutch immediately started vibrating, lunging and rolls backwards, I assumed it would be a warranty fix easily but the dealership and Ford refused saying it was “normal”. Now there is a class action lawsuit. After 50 years with Ford never again. Don’t buy.

I purchased my car brand new in 2011. I was excited, it was my first new car and I spent a lot of time researching cars. Within a few months I noticed that the car began to shake and vibrate and shudder real bad, especially in lower gears. It got worse and worse so I brought it in. Ford fixed it. It was fine for a few months then it began again. This time it was worse, even stalling out when crossing intersections when my kids were in the car. This frightened me and I reported it. They found nothing wrong with it. It was still doing it so I brought it back in and demanded someone drive it until they felt it and fixed it. On two other occasions it has been brought in and fixed. The letter Ford sent out stating that this is normal is bogus because it doesnt always do it especially right after a fix. The car is shaking and shuddering again. I also noticed that when I stop at lights or in my not so steep driveway the car rolls back significantly. Extending the warranty does not make the car safe. Now I have a recall notice that says the doors can break open while I am driving and the part to fix it is not available but I will be notified when it is. This car needs to be taken off the road!

The Ford Crown Victoria is well built and solid full sized car. Handles 5 adults with plenty of trunk space. Not manufactured anymore (last year produced - 2011) but is well worth buying used as these cars are extremely durable, reliable and hold up well under the harshest conditions. Smooth ride, excellent handling, 4 wheel disc brakes provide superior breaking, whisper quiet smooth V8 with plenty of power. Comfortable and stylish as well. Easy to repair and offers many safety features with excellent crash protection. Downside: can be hard to park due to large size, fair to decent gas consumption averaging 16-17 city / 20-25 hwy.
Buying the Ecosport was a mistake.
Buying the Ecosport was a mistake. 1) The size does not allow more than two to travel comfortably, especially on long trips. The trunk is tiny and the rear seats are needed for luggage. 2) The economy factor is negligent when compared to our former Ford Escape. Gas, upkeep, and general savings are costing about the same as before. 3) Comfort is absent. The seats do not present a good ride at all on anything but a good highway. Even then it’s noisy. Nor is it meant for country driving at all. I wish we had been told.4) The dealership was not helpful when I asked for their help in going back to an Escape. The sales man said it was cost prohibitive and to call him in a few months. That’s not happening.I’ve hated this car from day one. I can’t wait to change vehicles at another dealership and another company.

I had to take my 2006 Lincoln Mark LT with the 5.4 Triton motor into my local Ford Dealership to have the spark plugs replaced. I was told then that this engine had issues with these spark plugs getting stuck and breaking into two parts requiring extra time and effort to do this service procedure. The cost of a plug change was high to me at $300.00 and if a plug should break it would be $95.00 for each one extra. Ive read that Ford knew of this issue and still sold this engine without change after they became aware of it back in 2004. The total cost of the repair cost me over $1300.00 for what should have been a regular simple spark plug change (had Ford used a one piece plug or redesign socket) I am willing to pay a decent fee for a spark plug replacement but I do not feel that I should have to pay for plugs that break and take extra time to extract because of faulty parts and design. I am at a loss to find any help regarding this issue.

I bought a 2017 Mustang. Ive had it four months and in that time its been in the garage once a month for the same problem. My car is now in the garage again. The clutch has come out of it. The service manager said the car had been treated rough. I called the main company about this. Guess what? Its my problem. If, I have them fix it it will cost me 2000.00. If, I fix it itll cost me 800.00 and voids all warranties. I tried talking to the service manager. He told me to go away. I was wasting his time. Ive always been a fan of Ford. Not anymore. My family won’t buy them anymore. I tell people how they treated me. Now I have to pay this garage 90.00 to get my car back. This is a bunch of **. People dont buy a Ford.

Despite everybody telling me not to buy a Ford, the 2016 Ford Explorer Sport fit my familys needs and we like the looks and performance of the vehicle so I bought one for my wife. On the way home from a day out celebrating Mothers Day with my family, the transmission went out on the freeway and we barely made it home. With only 4,000 miles on the vehicle, the transmission had to be replaced. In addition, the vehicle made a loud squeaking noise from the fans when you turn the car off, and the leather on the drivers seat is already starting to deform. The dealer fixed the transmission, but said there was nothing they could do about the seats or the fan squeak. They stated this was normal. I have owned a lot of cars in my life, and in no way is this normal.I then took the Explorer in for a routine oil change service, and the vehicle only had 5/32 left of tread on the tires. This seemed like very excessive wear for a brand new vehicle. A month or so later I took the vehicle back in to the dealer to have the tires looked at and they were down to 4/32. The dealer said that it was up to the tire manufacturer, and Hankook was only willing to prorate 25%. There is no way I should have to replace tires on a vehicle that is 1 year old with only 12K miles on it. Come to find out, Fords New Vehicle Warranty is also supposed to warranty the tires and should cover 60% of the cost. I called Ford Customer Relations and what a disaster they are. I went back and forth for with them for a month. They never called me back as they promised, and some of the reps were extremely rude.I finally get a supervisor who says that he worked it out with the dealership and that I will only need to pay $407.57 for new tires, and that Ford will take care of the rest. Not quite 60% but at this point, I just want to be done with this. I call the dealer and talk to the person I was told to ask for, and they know nothing about this. I have always tried to stay loyal to the domestic automakers, but I can see why people dont buy American cars. I understand stuff can happen to anything vehicle, but the service Ford has provided has been terrible. If they were great in handling these issues, I would be happy that at least the service was good and that they were taking care of their customer and standing behind their product. Clearly that is not the case and the stereotype about Ford poor quality and service is unfortunately true.

Ford Billy Howell Cumming sold and serviced the Ford Fusion 2011, and said it was 100% when I bought it. But less than a month and half later the Power Steering Assist completely FAILED! I asked for them to apply the recall as shown on internet: 44,000 Fords (same model, same problem) have been recalled for this VERY SAME problem, but FORD claimed that based on the vin number we are DENIED the recall. They say for another $2,000 theyll fix it! Still, the same model, the SAME year, the SAME problem, has been recalled. But nobody at Ford can explain why we are NOT entitled to the same recall, nor how to submit a claim, and Ford NEVER called back no matter how many times we called and left messages. They promise to call back but never do. My car has now been standing at the shop for 6 months. It CANNOT be driven AT ALL without it being fixed! It should be replaced as per recall done to 44,000 other Ford cars!

My husband & I were Ford truck believers for many years until 2016! From our past experience, we expected our 2008 F450 diesel (with the 6.4L engine), would take us into retirement and beyond until the engine blew up this year, with just over 100,000 miles! $18455.66 later, and a lousy 2 year warranty on the new (same, defective engine), we found out that this engine is expected to fail around 100,000 miles making it the worst engine in the Ford truck line. (Our 1999 F350 is still on the road at 250,000+ miles!)I tried to contact Fords Customer Service (which is really their Customer Dis-service as the one answering the phone only has a first name and no boss to appeal to). My expectation was to get a reasonable 10 year / 100,000 mile warranty on the new engine instead of a crappy 2 year warranty (which is equivalent to a 30,000 mile warranty). The mechanics told us they could bulletproof the replacement engine, after the 2 year warranty expired, for about $8000! My question is, why isnt the replacement engine bulletproofed already? What was once a great company with integrity has been replaced by fraud and failure. I am embarrassed to be driving a Ford after my humble retirement account has been robbed of $20,000.
My 2015 Ford Taurus Limited has left me stranded 4 times since I purchased
My 2015 Ford Taurus Limited has left me stranded 4 times since I purchased the vehicle. The problem seems to be with the fuel pump module, which has now been replaced 3 times in less than 3 months. The reason I am complaining is because of Ford customer service. I reached out to them on 9/26/2016 at 10:33 AM, and I was told that a regional customer service manager would contact me in 1 day. It is currently 11:13 AM on 9/28, and I havent heard from anyone. First of all, I have been without a vehicle for 4 of the last 6 days which affects my job, family, income, and personal responsibilities. There seems to be no sense of urgency for Ford and its customer service department to help me. I currently own 3 Ford vehicles, but I feel as that means nothing to them, and they could care less that I am a loyal customer. I feel that Ford needs to step up and take some responsibility and do right to me by compensating me for the missed income and expenses that have occurred due to this faulty vehicle. I have rented cars because of being stranded, and last week spent the night in a parking garage in downtown Chicago in my car with my family due to the failed vehicle. This is not right Ford! I shouldnt be the person that is paying for a troubled car that has only 26K miles. Sure the warranty is still in effect, but what do I do when stranded places? I doubt this will go anywhere but maybe someone from Ford reads this and steps up.

Ford Motor Company dont want business from US citizens of Puerto Rico... On November 24, 2017 at the Central Florida International Auto Show I was enjoying a great Auto Show especially looking at the Pickup trucks inside the Orlando Convention Center. Ford, Nissan and Chevy pickups were my top pick for my next purchase, the only other thing that I needed to was to test drive them. So after spending all day at the show I went outside and test drove with Nissan, Dodge and others with my Puerto Rico drivers license with no issues. But when I stop at the Ford Test drive tent I show my Puerto Rico drivers license like I did with the other 3 locations and was notify that it was no good, only US driver license. I told the lady that Puerto Rico is part of the United States but she didnt care. Last time I check Ford has dealerships in the island of Puerto Rico. As a US citizen and a US service member, I felt disappointed, disrespect... Ford Motor Company lost a customer... and hopefully many more.

I have a 2010 XLT with the paint blistering down to bare metal on both sides of the truck. (pictures attached) I am seeing this on many of the trucks of this vintage in my town and they all look very similar. Ford wont do anything about this unless there is a perforation right through. This is clearly related to the paint not being prepped properly. I also had to have the bonnet on this truck painted after 6 months after buying it new because it was blistering behind the edge of the grill. I had a 1998 xlt with 300K on it and I drove it until 2010. The driving conditions were exactly the same and the paint had no issues. I had a guy at Ford tell me on the QT that some people are drilling holes in the problem area and letting it rust to get around Fords policy and fix it. I didnt want to do this so I talked to the dealer, contacted national reps from the US and Canada on this forum.... Big fat nothing.So... after 24 straight years of driving nothing but Ford trucks my new Ram will be here on Friday. IMO Fords quality has gone down and their policy on paint sucks. Sour grapes, you bet!!! Please reply if you have paint problems. I think this is a widespread problem Ford should be dealing with. Get out your drills boys if you want this fixed.

I have owned several Ford vehicles over the years. They have been mostly dependable. My worst experience so far has been the Ford 5.4L 3v in my latest pickup. I have had to do both cam phasers and the dreaded breaking spark plugs. It has otherwise been reliable and I have had no issues since the phasers were done 20,000 mi ago. Previous vehicles had only minor issues such as starters, alternators, O2 sensors, steering components, and other things you would expect to replace on an aging vehicle. I plan to buy another in the future.

I have a 2004 Mercury Mountaineer (same as Ford Explorer and now serviced by Ford). Vehicle has always been well maintained, garaged, and has low mileage of 68,000, but unfortunately Ive been the victim of 3 (so far) well known design flaws that were not covered because I was out of warranty. Each of these has carried a substantial price tag to correct. The first was the fan motor under the dash for heat. It made a loud clanking noise and there was no heat. I was told this was a common problem and the dash had to be pulled and the fan and motor replaced. The next issued appeared shortly after. The back panel just under the back windshield developed a vertical crack - top to bottom close to the center. Dealer told me it was a design flaw and pushing the panel to close in a spot other than center causes this area to flex and crack. Again, well known problem but not covered. (I have since noticed at least 50% of Explorers & Mountaineers I see on the road with a crack that are of this era). Most recently, I have developed rust behind the rear passenger wheel well. I have consulted 2 body shops and they both told me common problem with these models - usually just on one side. Design problem. This is a very expensive problem to fix, especially for a 10 year old vehicle. If not for these apparent common problems, Ive been pretty pleased with my vehicle, but I am very frustrated with Ford that they wont stand behind and repair these things. At 68,000 miles, I would like to continue driving this SUV, but Im afraid what could be next. Ive always bought Ford products, but their unwillingness to stand behind their product concerns me.

Have thought to write reviews before, then decided not for fear of upsetting local dealership who keeps my lesser half on an even keel. The thing is, I just spent the full first day of my vacation trying to make sure my Ford was not going to screw me over on this trip. And this is the 4th or 5th time that the Ford has played a major role on a vacation--as saboteur each time. Have never had a vehicle that actively impacted vacations before. Its like the Ford knows! All I can relate it to, is going on vacation with a passive-aggressive person that you are obligated to take along. Not pleasant.2016 New Ford: Dealership dragged butts getting customizations done, and even though gave weeks of lead time, was left taking loaner vehicle (without all the camping customizations) on the big trip I was excited that Ford was going to make amazing. 2016 First Camping Trip w/ *My* Ford: Had 3,000 miles on it. Camped in middle of nowhere with no cell coverage and no people. Ford blew its engine. Yes. It really did. A passing car relayed my info to the Platinum Plan Roadside Assistance for me (remember, I am left stranded in the forest). Fords roadside assistance apparently told them I was too remote for them to send a tow. So they abandoned me. Left me in forest to die. Totally Benghazid me. But these *strangers* did not. They called around and found a local tow guy who would go out there and get me and my new paper-weight: the Ford. The guy towed me to local dealership some 60 miles away. The Ford dealership could not be bothered on a weekend to get me a rental car, and was located outside of town. Me and dogs had to walk several miles into town and back out when Home Dealership from 200 miles away sent trailer to pick up the Ford. It turns out that each local dealer apparently has own way of handling warranty work and this other dealership did not consider me their problem since I did not buy it there, nor did they have any idea what this Platinum Plan amounted to.2017 Flat Tire In Middle of Nowhere: Could not figure out the surprisingly complicated tire delivery system that had to be assembled and unlocked and operated. So tried calling Ford Roadside Assistance. They had no idea either. Nor could they send a tow truck because it turns out Platinum Plan only good for $100 tow. No worries! I eventually figured it out, just thought could make a quick call and get a minute of help to seed things up but spent an hour getting zero help instead. Made it home tired from expedition, and in dark, also having spent 2 extra hours in the dark getting tire changed.2017 Flat Tire Near Home. Ok, this time I knew how to get tire down. But could not get flat wheel off truck! Had to call tow truck because wheel corrosion welded onto axle courtesy of Ford dissimilar metals causing electrolysis and corrosion. Sure, everyone uses aluminum wheels. Yet Ford is only one that wheel simply would not come off for me. I tried kicking it and almost broke foot. Tried prying it and damaged wheel. By the way, Ford Platinum Plan Roadside Assistance insisted I was over 60 miles away from my home or some such and so refused to tow me there (too far). However, the person was unable to make sense of where I was and could not even find me on map--so no idea how she knew the distance. At any rate, having lived here for 20 years, I assured her I was only 10 miles from house but she refused or could not override what the system that did not know where I was at was telling her for the distance. I called the roadside assistance that came with my car insurance and they sent a tow truck... to change the tire. The tow guy had to get under truck that was up on jack and pound on wheel with 5lb hammer. He suggested I carry 5lb hammer, block of wood, and some extra jack stands to make truck somewhat safer for crawling under it and pounding.2018 Flat Tire. Tried loosening lugs but lug wrench would not fit them?!? Had it been swapped at dealership? So made calls around neighborhood (over a few miles, I live in the country) and found one with a star wrench. Went and got it. Jacked up truck and wheel would not come off again. Tried pounding on it but had not invested in 5lb hammer yet. Presumed kicking it would not work. Did not bother with Fords POS Platinum Plan Roadside Assistance. Called the roadside assistance I got separately through my car insurance. They sent a tow truck. To change the tire. That guy was big and he gave the wheel a hard kick and it came loose. I am an AARP member and suspect I would have broken my foot. At any rate, got wheel swapped out. Next day I spent entire first day of my vacation on the Ford. It was a 70 mile round trip to take it to dealership to get patched. They could not he bothered and so it would take several hours for them to do it. I made a day of it and did some exploring to another town and left some lovely painted memorial rocks at a spot that was special to my departed ex. Rather than preparing for trip. Then I went to house, got the star and returned it to neighbor. Then rested a couple hours and went back to town to get patched spare. I took the truck. Here is where it gets extra interesting.I had them rotate all the tires so if I need to change a flat they will be temporarily broken loose. IF YOU HAVE A FORD TRUCK, do this before any expedition. Regarding the lug wrench, that turns out to be another issue with Ford materials and engineering (like with the dissimilar metals and no coating/treatment to prevent corrosion welds). The lug nuts *swell*. Thats right. Ford makes their lug nuts out of some high-tech passive-aggressive living metal that can sense a vacation and swell by a couple millimeters, rendering it impossible to remove them with the factory lug wrench!?! Who knew??? I did not. No, you cannot hammer wrench onto lug. I tried that. These things *really swell*. You have to get a 22mm wrench to fit on the 21mm lugs. You have to go buy a new wrench. IF YOU ARE A FORD TRUCK OWNER buy a new lug wrench after a year or so, or it may simply be impossible to change a tire on your expedition and you could die in the wilderness from a flat tire. So both the corrosion weld and the swollen nuts issues are known by Ford. In googling, there have even been lawsuits! Yet, here we still are.To wrap up this review, will say that back in the day, IBM had a list of priorities go meet when rolling out a new product whether it was a storage medium or a mainframe. Number 1 priority? Do the customer no harm. Customer safety was #1 priority. They did not want you to even cut your finger on a sharp edge. But Ford seems to think it is no big deal if you--surprise!--cant change your tire ‘cause their magical nuts swelled. Well they have not traveled with me.Back in the day I drove all through Mexico and Central America. I was careful in choosing my rigs for the expedition: Nissan pickup (with *3* spare tires--I went through *all* of them), BMW motorcycle. They both served me well, had zero problems other than tires. One flat was in the dangerous Peten region of Guatemala. The military had been hunting down and killing armed highwaymen in the area right when I was passing through. I got a flat!!! On the Nissan, it took 5 minutes to swap that ** out and be on my way. Thank you God I did not take a Ford Truck. IF YOU ARE A FORD TRUCK OWNER do not take it on any expedition where your life could be at risk from a breakdown. My experience is that they (based, admittedly, on only one ownership experience) simply are not reliable and trustworthy enough for that use. Use them as you would a Mini Cooper, for fun jaunts around town--except you can haul/tow stuff with the Ford! Not for an expedition, where lives are on the line and there is no safety net. Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, *Honduras*--even parts of Mexico? The magic lug nuts surprise would have almost surely cost me my life. Still might.Look, Im older now. Have had spinal surgeries and such. Really do not need to be under a truck raised up on a jack, pounding on wheel w/ 5lb hammer. Just might end up pinned under truck. So... if that happens and I am found dead in middle of nowhere under my hateful passive-aggressive Ford? Please someone sue the crap out of Ford for me, in my memory.

This Mercury is a 2005 yet still in great shape. It is comfortable. It drives great. This car has automatic seat adjustments that have proved to be so convenient. It is the second Marquis that I have owned. It has a really smooth ride. Its great on long trips. The color blue is my favorite. It starts in all kinds of weather so it is reliable. This car gets good gas mileage for a full size car. It has automatic mirror adjustments. I like that it has an automatic gear shift. I like the way the brakes work. I like that you can see out of the car well. I also like the sound of the radio and speakers. It tells you the temperature inside and outside the car. It has plenty leg room and headroom. You dont hear a lot of outside noise. It is easy to handle. I would include a backup camera and a GPS though. Other than that it is a perfect car and I love it. I wouldnt care if it was a little be smaller but not much. I would like that indicator that tells you when you are too close to a car on the side. I would like side airbags too. I would like that feature that stops the car when you get too close in front. I would like that indicator that beeps when you back too close to anything. I would also like a seat warmer for the winter.

I have two recalls on my 2013 Fusion. I asked the dealership and customer service if I would be provided a loaner car if the repair took more than four hours. I was told that Ford does not provide loaners for either recall. This is totally unacceptable. Ford has sold me a defective vehicle and now to add insult to injury, they are telling me it is my responsibility to provide transportation for myself due to this defective vehicle. I am paying a car note to drive a vehicle, now I will either have to pay for a rental or inconvenience someone else and pay them for their gas. How does Ford think I should be responsible for additional costs because they sold me a defective product? I have informed the dealership and customer service that I will never purchase another Ford product because of this.

Ive been driving a Ford Edge and found it to be an excellent SUV. It drives very nice and handles great. Its all-wheel drive, and was surprised how it just pulled out of the snow bank. It a little smaller than my Explorer and was worth the shot I gave it.

I purchased my Ford F450 Platinum (6.7 diesel fuel system) new. I have had this truck serviced at great expense since it was new and usually ahead of schedule. If ford service said it needed something I did it. If Ford service said it might need something I did it. I am now at 87k miles and had my High Pressure Fuel system go out. Ford dealer is telling me 10K dollars. Telling me I have purchased bad fuel but when they took a fuel sample there was no water in the fuel. So now Ford wont stand good for their product, the insurance probably wont pay for it because there is no evidence of contamination, and that leaves one option. I am going to be out 10K dollars. Not to mention at a time I am retiring from the military. Just plain sad. I am through with Ford.

My Ford Edge is black with sparkle in the paint and 22 in wheels. It drives smooth and has remote start. It is all wheel drive and includes a backup camera. The car drives well in the snow which we get a lot of here. The size of the car is perfect and the accessories. It has every option that you can think of. The interior is all leather. And overall, its a nice car. However, the entire top is glass which is cold. The back does not hold very much without putting the seats down. Also, there is so many accessories that things can go wrong. Still, I love the car.

I went to the Ford Credit website on January 9th to make January payment due January 7. After making payment, I checked the box to extract payments automatically on the due date heretofore, thinking that this would start in February. Apparently by checking that box, my payment was not applied to January. There is no smart feature on that site that applies the funds to the last payment due and no payment was made until February 7, skipping January. I did not notice this and on March 2, I received a robo-call stating that my account was seriously delinquent and to call Ford Credit ASAP. This came as a total surprise to me.I spoke to a very helpful rep named Windy, who read the situation clearly, but also told me that my account was reported delinquent to the credit bureaus. She understood what happened and it was obvious that I didnt check in on January 9 for any reason other than to make payment. She referred it to a supervisor. Over the next week, I spoke to 3 more reps and 2 supervisors. They told me that I should give it 30 days. Today Im at 30 days and dealt with two people this morning who were completely unsympathetic to my issue and kept reading me the rules. My contention that the system should be programmed to apply payment to the last payment due was met with deaf ears and was told that even after submitting written complaints electronically, that they must be written in pen and ink to be considered for reversal.I have invested at least 8 hours with this company to resolve an issue that was triggered by software that is programmed by them. Hence an internal Ford issue. This can easily be resolved by a company that actually values its customers. I had a similar technical issue with BMW a few years back and it was resolved efficiently and with great courtesy. Within 3 days I received a letter of reversal from them and all three credit bureaus were notified. Ford apparently has a banking arm that is way behind virtually every other I have dealt with regard to treating its customers fairly. I will continue this pursuit to clear my credit. I will never buy another Ford product again.
Quality and customer service are they a dinosaur of the past? It seems so.
Quality and customer service are they a dinosaur of the past? It seems so. We purchased a 2009 Ford Diesel truck in May of 2010 with the expectation that this truck with a diesel engine would last upwards in the 200,000-300,000 mileage range with proper maintenance and care, which is one of the major selling points of a diesel engine. The truck was paid off and in September of 2015 just one month out of warranty this truck had to have both turbochargers replaced at Henry Day Ford for a little over $5,000.00. The mileage was at 90,651. Just under the engine break in period as is normally advertised. We asked the service advisor at that time, what more can we do to prevent these costly repairs. The answer was nothing can be done, except regular oil changes at proper intervals. In May of this year we had what we thought to be the exact same problem and returned it to Henry Day Ford to get it repaired. We were told that it would be over $21,000.00 to repair the truck as the engine was beyond repair, two cylinders had low compression. The original price on the truck was just under $35,000.00 and adding in the costly repair in September we are now at $40,000 for a truck with 100,499 miles on it, and it is not running. My first question; what has happened to quality in a product? I remember in the past one of Fords main advertising statement was Quality is job one. Apparently in Fords case, quality is not a job at all. Do we as providers or manufacturers expect to deliver less than the best quality to our customers and consumers? Are we OK with the terrible quality of products and goods that we produce and pass along to the consumer or customer? The fact that we as providers do not put our foot down and say no, we will not sell an inferior product because we have to stand behind it. When it fails, and it will, we look bad too.I know at Tingey Plumbing & Heating we make that choice all the time. There are products that we will not carry from certain manufacturers because of the quality. What would happen if more companies would take that stand? My second question; does customer service even exist anymore? My answer is simple when dealing with Henry Day Ford. Not only no, but absolutely, without question no. We received one phone call from the service advisor to tell us the engine was gone, and when dissatisfaction was expressed, it was implied that it happens frequently. I have made the balance of the phone calls to try to resolve this massive financial disaster to our company with the service manager and he has never attempted to call me back, or give me a realistic resolution to solve the problem. Their answer was bringing the bill down from $21,000.00 to $16,000.00.In the meantime we had placed a call to Ford Motor Company to lodge a complaint and were given a confirmation number and were told someone from Ford Motor Company would call us back. We waited and waited and waited. Meanwhile we have a truck that is not on the road and a technician that does not have his truck to work out of. After a week we called Ford Motor Company back to be told we needed to call the service manager at Henry Day Ford. We took the truck to a different dealer to get a second opinion. We took it to Ken Garff (next door to Henry Day Ford), who has a Ford trained master mechanic that looked at the problem. At first inspection they thought it was a different problem and quoted us $6,300.00 dollars to repair it and when I asked if it was in fact the engine would they still charge us, I was told yes. This is where the huge difference in customer service comes in.Their mechanic decided to use a borescope and look at the cylinders to make sure their diagnosis was correct and he found out the truck had indeed lost two cylinders. Ken Garff then quoted after several calls to us to try to resolve the problem $13,999.00 to replace the engine. Great customer service from Ken Garff. When I called the service manager at Henry Day Ford in an attempt to get help from Ford Motor Company or Henry Day Ford, I was told by the service manager they do not build the trucks so do not take it out on them. He told me that they were not making any money on the engine replacement and that the other dealer could not possibly replace the engine for that price. I asked him if he had even called Ford Motor Company to see if they would do anything and he said no. He expressed over and over again how it would not be fair to him for me to write any bad reviews as they do not build the vehicle.I asked him to call Ford Motor Company and he said he could call the territorial manager and said he would get back to me... he never did. Its been over a week. It appears to me the customer service that Henry Day Ford gives, is to itself, they are more concerned about customers being fair to them than taking care of a serious defect in a diesel truck that is 6 years old with 100,499 miles on it. Yes Henry Day Ford, I know that you do not build the truck but you represent the company and honestly, I have had more customer service in the airport security line in LA, although the wait is about the same, deathly slow or non-existent. Which brings me to the question again, is customer service extinct? I know that in a majority of companies it is, but there are some that still believe that customer service is a top priority. I know that it makes a difference in our customers because they tell us that it does. Why should they settle for mediocrity? Why should any of us? I know that I will never buy another Ford product again; I will never go to Henry Day Ford again. I will not give money to a company that demonstrates a severe lack of quality in addition to an incredible lack of customer service. Can we make a difference? Yes we can if enough people cry out. You either listen to them and respond or you ignore them and hope they go away before you do. Eventually they go away because customer service sets you apart from others who provide the same product.

I had to have the intake manifold replaced on my 1997 Ford Crown Victoria LX this year, 2014. Ford has acknowledged this flaw, avoided having an official recall issued, notified their Fleet & Commercial consumers and, quietly, without any sort of notification, offered private owners a repair/repair reimbursement offer that was only in effect for 90 days. This is an outrage! I want to be reimbursed for the money I had to spend to have this repair done. ANYBODY ELSE WITH ME ON THIS?!?

2011 Ford Fiesta - Waiting for third clutch assembly parts. Car shuttering, lunging and failing to accelerate. No longer feel safe in this car. Ford refuses to give me loaner car to drive while waiting the eight to ten weeks for back ordered parts. Have had the problem since I purchased the car and still nothing to fix it. Have had several computer updates and one replacement on the TCM. Why cant the manufacturer make it right for their customers? I will be looking for another manufacturer for my next automobile purchase.
This is a letter from one of your first-time customers. In the grand scale
This is a letter from one of your first-time customers. In the grand scale I mean very little to your company as far as your bottom line. I am one of the millions that pay you every month and understand that with a corporate company like yourselves I don’t really have any pull in the service relationship we have. However, I believe it is therapeutic to encapsulate this experience I have had with you, and also to caution others who may want to purchase a FORD vehicle in the future. I don’t believe in getting something for nothing. I do believe in fair and honest treatment and that’s where you have failed Ford.I leased my FORD Eco Sport 2018 in January 2018. Unfortunately, I was in an accident in late February 2018. Nothing huge just a fender bender but as I write this, it is September 13th, 2018 and I still don’t have my car back from the shop. You see you sold a vehicle that had no parts ready for it because they are made in India. (I’m not really sure if the location is to blame but that’s just what I have been told.) You take no responsibility for that, and believe that while it is unfortunate it is also not something you have any plan of action for or will do anything about. I have called, emailed, Facebooked, tweeted, and hoped for someone to help me and yet still there is nothing you “can” or will do. I have now not had a car for months while still paying my lease agreement. You wouldn’t even lend me a rental, so I had to pay for my own. $778.00 and one month later and I have just decided to be carless. I am 30 years old and I have a family. I have a 90-year-old grandfather I take to the doctors and shop for so Ive had to rely on friends and neighbours to go everywhere. I must Uber to and from work every day because I must make sure I can pay my ford credit bill this month for a car I haven’t seen in a half a year. I have spoken to two dealerships and they tell me stories about all their customers who are waiting on parts for the Eco Sport with no answers or timelines. How discouraging is this? My first new car and all I feel after this whole experience is abandoned and forgotten buy a company who made about 7.6 billion dollars last year off the very people they won’t help.I have called your customer service line; whose sole purpose is to never actually help anyone but rather read the same four lines of script sent down from some corporate manual to ensure that: A. Ford never has to help anyone. B. To make sure that the customer is so defeated and frustrated by the end of the call you won’t want to call back. On that front Ford I say that you have succeeded. As I have been doing some digging to see who else I could call I have seen thousands of terrible reviews about everything this letter is about and clearly no one cares. There should be a support group for every customer you have let down because honestly its outright abusive at this point. My family has always owned FORDS. Generation after generation it is the only car we buy, and after this whole experience I don’t see myself being a FORD customer in the future. Even though I feel very defeated by this whole situation I am still hoping that someone will read this and have a little heart to understand that I am only looking for what is fair, for a paying customer and what is right for a customer who has valued FORD their entire life.

This car can accelerate and stick at ANY given time! My car also sticks in Reverse, in the middle of the road. It shimmers, shudders, grinds, rattles, shifts when it wants and doesnt want and slips! How could they NOT possible return all of these vehicles, smash them and grind them like they did to Christine at the end!? These are death trap cars and are unsafe... Shame on Ford. NEVER EVER AGAIN!!! Now, I am stuck in this car, hoping and praying that nothing bad happens. All they do is lie after lie and say its normal just so they dont have to fix it under the lemon law. You are worse than Chevy and Toyota!

I had been hit on the head which caused damage to my brain in which I havent been able to work. My wife is in kidney failure awaiting treatment for chemo and had been infusing to stay alive! We have always been good payers with Ford credit company, have always, when we made an arrangement to pay, did pay my Ford account. My wife called and was not authorized on my account and talked to Ford customer service department in regards to payment arrangements on my truck, acct **, for an F250 truck. Ford spoke to her and she had asked about it in the future, since I was sick with head injury, if we had to give back vehicle voluntarily in the future, if something happened, what are the steps. The customer service advised her not to do that and to try to find another person to buy the contract and get out of name. The customer service looked at the account and said that as long as $45 was made and a payment of $175 was made in 7 days, the account would be fine and the vehicle would be okay. And, Ford would work with us on the truck until health was better as we were good customers with Ford! After the conversation with Ford, my wife said that she had asked about repossession, they werent interested in doing that. After she heard what would happen, payment then was made on the truck for $399.15 and another for $175 and $200 through the automated system on the phone.Anytime I tried to pay my account over the phone, the contract number would come up as fusion and SSN would not match. Ford was told several times about the error, something was done in refinance, several payments were made, and 3 days later, at 1:40 am, my truck was repossessed from my yard, after my being in the hospital with severe brain injury. Ford had told me a week before the vehicle was fine as long as arrangement was followed through and the Ford truck would not be in default or repossessed in which there was no letter, no warning, nothing. They came, got the truck with payment arrangement done and agreed to by Ford Credit! Payments that were made werent credited correctly on the truck or the other acct **. Edge is ahead, not due till August 2012 with $100 due in July 2012.Being sick, I requested help with the truck since I havent been able to work and I could have borrowed money to catch up payment if I knew of them coming to get the truck! There was no letter, no warning! Yolanda, in customer service, is rude. She told my wife and me on the speaker phone after the truck had been repossessed that the reason was because my wife had asked about voluntary surrendering of the truck if something happened in the future but not at present time. Ford should have not even spoken to my wife about the account. I should have been contacted with this information. It was my account, not my wifes! The repossession company, the driver for Carolina Lending out of Myrtle Beach, SC picked the truck up 3 days after payment arrangement was made and payment posted on Saturday, the 12th. The truck was picked up on the 10th.The repossession driver lied and was rude to my wife and taunted me at the repossession lot, laughed and said the only reason this happened was because of my last name, **. The driver held a grudge for the ** family and threatened that he was coming for my Edge that was current. The system at Ford doesnt post for 3 days or more. That is not my fault. My Edge is not due till August 2012. The driver was rude and threatening me on the lot with vulgar language and rudeness! The police have a report! Ford had no right to speak to an unauthorized person on the account and also, after payment arrangement was made and agreed, and customer service told me a week before and my wife, that nothing would happen and they repossessed. This was wrong. Please help me. Now they want me to pay my truck in full, $18,000. Yolanda is a rude and nasty person at customer service and the supervisor Ms. ** wont call me back! Please help me!

I have had most of the issues mentioned in other complaint threads; and then some. Just recently, I had more Edge issues when three (3) ignition coils exploded under light acceleration. Brought car to my mechanic, since FORD has been expensive and fixes never seem to be fixes, plus vehicle is out-of-warranty. This round of repairs was first estimated at $800 but after coils were replaced - they blew again, as the computer was shorting and surging the coils. My new estimate is $2000 for the coils and a new computer. My Edge has 140k miles and I was pondering even fixing the vehicle. Since I was already committed to the initial $800 repair, even if I chose to junk it afterwards, I decided to go with the fix. I pondered trying to use an aftermarket computer but mechanic said vehicle would have to be towed off his lot, as he could not allow vehicle to be driven. Apparently it is classified as an explosion/fire concern. Mechanic was actually surprised that vehicle didnt catch fire when the coils burst under the surge when computer malfunctioned while I was driving it. Prior issues: This issue is second time that I have had to replace ignition coils; first time was around 60k miles. As I think about it now, I cant help but think that this computer may be the root cause of my other Sync related issues. Those issues include: Sync GPS doesnt work at all. Ford wants $300 to reprogram for 4th time. I refuse. Back-up camera not going off after car is removed from reverse and placed back in Drive. Frequent battery replacements due to high draw of electronics.Other issues include: 3 different doors had sensors (including latches) replaced. I had to pay $700 for each as I couldnt worry about wife being stranded with 4 yr old (at the time). Power steering has never seemed right but no fix other than topping off fluid. Car master brake cylinder failure (first time car was confiscated) also caused premature brake wear and replacement of rotors and pads. However, the main reason that I will NEVER BUY A FORD AGAIN is the customer service and constant assertions that this is MY FAULT and NOT THEIR FAULT.My brake issues baffled me. On my first three trips to Ford service, the service reps said that they didnt see, hear or feel any issues with the brakes; even with a published possible recall concern in their hand. They treated me like I was lying about the issue. On fourth visit, the vehicle was held as unsafe and I was given a rental car. Turns out that it was such a common safety recall that the part was not available and back-ordered for two weeks. The faulty master cylinder caused premature pad wear and rotors required replacement as well. Go figure that the pads were a few weeks out of warranty when they needed to be replaced again. While on the topic, FORD OEM parts are horrible. Ford Corporate was not happy with my call from the dealership and they did not comply with my demands to remove me from their mailing list. To make matters worse, I was billed for the rental car because of poor accounting between dealership and rental agency. Thankfully, I noticed the charge on my credit card statement because I was never told that I was being billed. Rental agency just billed the card that I was required to place on file for incidentals. I fought for 3 weeks between two companies before they found where THEY WENT WRONG. So now I am sitting here - writing this review - wondering what else will go wrong with this vehicle after this round of repairs.

Ford refused to fully fix a recall that they issued and the damage it caused. It took over 6 weeks to get the parts in to fix the Ford Fiesta door locks. They had the car an excessive amount of time.

I am EXTREMELY disappointed I am with Ford! This is my second bout with Ford... This time, I am just in awe of the treatment I am receiving. I will try to make this long story as short as possible. On 9/25, I was traveling from Stockbridge, GA back home to Winston Salem, NC. Once I got to Boiling Springs, SC, on my display- a message came up Low Oil pressure...my car started slowing down and making a weird noise- so I got off at the next exit and called Ford Roadside Assistance. The lady I spoke to first quoted me $361 to have my car towed from Boiling Springs, SC to Charlotte, NC; I told her Id call right back because Id have to make sure I would have transportation from Charlotte to Winston Salem. She said ok, she would document and someone would help me when I called.I call back- go through the entire story again about driving from GA, message, etc....I get quoted $569!!!! I tell THIS lady, that is NOT what I was literally just quoted 10 minutes ago on the phone. She puts me on hold, comes back asks me what location, blah, blah, blah- I tell her- she puts me on hold, comes back and says she cannot get this lady to understand what she is saying, Im like, That is not my problem- I am telling you what she told me and its not fair to me that she quoted me one price and you want to charge me an additional $200 more. She talks to her supervisor---she will NOT waive the $200! (Oh, I havent gotten to the best part).I wait 4 hours for a tow to come get me!!!! After the tow comes, the dealership gates are closed. I have to leave my car on the outside of the dealership with a note in the car. I go through the fence to put my keys in the lock box. I call the next morning. Now present: whats wrong with my 2019 Ford Ecosport--the engine and turbo. It only has 76K miles on it...I asked last week for a loaner because I work FT. They said they did not have any loaners.I called again 10/4 and I was told they did not. - My question was: Can you not contact the other dealerships in Charlotte, but I guess that would be too easy. I ask for Corporates number and Im told they can rent me a car from Enterprise BUT under the service plan they will only pay $35/day, I will have to pay $10/day AND I have to come to Charlotte to get the car--how the heck can I come get the car if you have my only mode of transportation? The customer care person I spoke with on 10/4 said she was escalating my issue and someone would contact me within in hour....this was at 12:43pm...I havent heard a peep from anyone.I have posted on my FB, Yelp, and Fords website. Someone from Fords Social Media contacted me via FB inquiring my case # and most preferred contact. I provided it and then he (Rick) said he saw where my case had been escalated and someone would be in touch. I still have not heard from anyone about the status of my car (which has been a week and 1/2 now) or anything about a rental! I dont know if this is sexual discrimination (because I am a female). They feel they can take advantage and run over me, but I am extremely upset and feel I am being treated unfairly. I also have found evidence on the internet that the issues with my car maybe a recall issue and I should not have to pay the deductible, but am sure because of the way this is going, they will attempt to strong arm me. I need assistance- PLEASE!!!!

Soon after purchasing a 2010 Ford Fusion... I noticed the interior had broken seat parts and each time I attempted to put it on it wouldnt fit. The tires needed rotating... There was no bulb light when backing out. The sales person said he would order the bulb... never got one. The ignition sometimes keeps going when I turn the key... The gas hand sometimes doesnt move. My minimum down payment was $600, salesman asked for $1000 and for me to not tell anyone. My payments I was told $300 monthly. I pay $389, I cannot afford to make repairs... and car payments. Went to several dealerships about trade options... and all three said I got screwed. Car might bring $5,000-$6,000. I owe over $15,000. I appreciate the Lender giving me an opportunity to re-establish my credit. And I have also hired Lexington Law Firm for assistance. I only ask that I be given a trade option. This has been and is very stressful.

I bought a 2016 F450 truck. I bought it brand new. I put 16203 miles on it. Its now 1 year old. The ac is not blowing so I bring it to the dealership that I bought it from. They tell me the evaporator coil is clogged up. They want $2400 to repair. They tell me this is not covered under warranty. I have a brand new truck with no air conditioning. I also bought a 2018 F450 and a 2018 Explorer for my wife. 3 trucks in one year from Ford. It seems like they would be a little more interested in fixing the problem instead of trying to make me pay $2400 to fix a brand new truck???

My car staked several times since last year and I did return it to Ford dealer in Rustenburg and my car is on 38800 kms but now they say failed to take my car for service and I was waiting for my car to be on 40 000 km and to my knowledge is that I should service my car on 40 000 km. The problem of the car started last year and is a return job. Ford is no longer reliable. Please assist me in this regard.

I purchased a 2016 about 13 months ago. Paid a little over 17000 and now they offered me 9000 for trade in at the same location. Not to mention the cars stayed stalling out when you stop and the air is on. Its the worst car ever.

My husband and I were watching a movie in Virginia Beach and are from Atlanta so we were visiting, and the phone kept buzzing. We knew no one in Virginia had our number so we went outside and answered the call. It was the VA Fire Dept. THE TRUCK (Ford F150 2006) was on FIRE. Now we had been in the movie for 2 hours and add an additional 45 minutes walking in the mall. So the truck had sat for almost 3 hours. What a waste. Now were waiting on FORD to tell us whats next.

I manage and run F-450 & F-550 trucks in extremely harsh environments. I can tell you for absolute certainty that if you maintain these trucks according and utilize the V10 gas engines you will get a very long life put of this piece of equipment. The number of fools that feel they need a diesel truck is shocking. I have extensive fleet Management experience and can assure you that for most of you buying a diesel is not a good idea. The modern emissions standards put on diesel engines ensures poor reliably and efficiency in comparison to the gas engines. For you sensible folks that want a durable and reliable machine, the V10 engine is all that you can ask for, just remember these are work trucks not mini vans.

1:00 this afternoon, my 2001 f150 was sitting in the driveway. My wife heard the horn honking, thought it was someone else... but when she looked out the window our truck was in flames. Total loss. We went online and found this blog about others having the same thing happen. Ford should be held accountable.

Ford Customer Service treats its customers like 2nd class citizens. They tell you one thing then do another. The settlement offer payment I sent in on 09/19/12 took almost 2 weeks to post. Now I was told that they are selling my vehicle at a private sale if I do not send in the balance plus repossession fee which I have already done. It was delivered at 8:57am on 10/09/12 and as of now it has not been posted to my account. I have sent the money both times and Ford has faltered on their end by not posting the payments in a timely manner. They have moved the vehicle from 100 miles to 200 miles away. Now I have to get someone to go with so that I can get my vehicle if Ford decided to post the payment. Do not worry that there will most likely be another post if I ended up losing my vehicle because of the way Ford does business. I would never recommend Ford or Ford Credit to even my worst enemy, much less a friend.

The second front spring has now broken. First it was the drivers side - now the passenger. I dont understand why the recall doesnt include the 2003 model, since they obviously have the same problem as the other ones that there has been a recall on. The mechanic said it wont be long before the rear passenger one goes too. This is a very dangerous position that we have been put in by Ford not recalling these. Who is responsible for starting a recall? This is not fair or good business.

I bought a 2105 Ford 150 XLT 4WD and on Dec 22nd 2017 it seems fuel pump went out. Had to get truck towed so called roadside. They said it would be 3 hours so I waited. No one showed. Called roadside back come to find out someone cancelled. Did not tow until Dec 23 2017. Since truck has been in shop date changes on parts coming in to fix. First date was Jan 12th 2018. Now Jan 25th 2018. Still no action. Tried calling Ford direct 4 times. Cant get through and dealership keeps making excuses.
For the past few months I have had my 2006 Ford F-150 with the 5.4 Triton V
For the past few months I have had my 2006 Ford F-150 with the 5.4 Triton V8 3 valve in and out of the shop trying to rectify a rough engine idle when stopping. First I was told that it had to do with a clogged fuel filter which was changed at a charge of $214.00 but I still had the same problem. Next, I was told that the air filter intake hose was clogged with leaves which was another charge of $180.00. Well, the rough idle persisted. So, at 88,000 miles I decided to let my mechanic do a tuneup which I was told would be around $450 thats if he didnt break any spark plugs.Well, day one I get a call and 3 spark plugs had broken off in the head. The next day I get a call and my mechanic was able to remove 2 of the broken off pieces but he couldnt get the third out. Day three I get a call and my mechanic explains to me that he tried to drill out the center of the stem and thread it so he could try and back it out. He got it to turn 4 times before it completely shredded and the piece fell into the #8 cylinder. So, he had to take off the head to get into the #8 cylinder to clean and remove all debris which he told me usually takes 21 hours. So, a week later I get a call from my mechanic to tell me that my truck is finally ready. Yep, it was ready all right at a cost of $3900... quite a shock considering this all started out at around $450. Of course, I was pretty mad and my mechanic did take $600 off of the bill. But, he has lost my business and the Better Business Bureau will get a complaint on behalf of this fiasco. Ford has known about this problem for quite awhile now and from what I have learned may have rectified the problem by replacing the spark plugs of later models with a one piece plug instead of a 2 piece plug that when affected by carbon build up seizes in the cylinder. Now, Ford states that the 5.4 Triton shouldnt have to have a tuneup until 100G miles. Yah, right!!! This is the second Ford product I have owned that has taken a good bit of my hard earned money. First was a failed transmission on a Mercury Villager that had only 62G on it. That fiasco cost me $2800. Now this total Charley Fox!!! Ford you have lost my business and will never get another dime out of me and yes I will be telling all of my friends to stay clear of Ford products.I currently own 2 Toyota vehicles. One a 2006 Toyota Camry that has 120G miles on it and the only thing I have done to that car in 5 years is replace tires and regular oil changes. The second is a 1989 Toyota extended cab 4x4 pickup truck that has 178G on it and I have had to replace the starter, the radiator, the power steering pump and the alternator, which I repaired all on my own at a minimal cost. The engine is still as strong as it was when I bought the truck in 1990. Now, if that doesnt speak quality and reliability then Im speechless. Guess who will be selling their F-150 and buying a Toyota Tundra. Ford get your act together!!! We are done!!

Bought a brand new 2016 250 Ford Transit 250 van at 12000 miles. Had a howling noise when backing up. Told me my bearings in the rear end were shot. Rebuilt the rear end to no avail. Now at 35000 miles my back brakes are completely wore out. Had big old tires. Tell me its as if Ive been driving with my e brake on. Took it to ford. They cover their ass and tell me its wear and tear and that theyre finding out with these vehicles the back brakes are wearing out quick. Oh did I mention my front brakes are like brand new. Bottom line this vehicle is a PIECE OF **.

Love the Ford Edge titanium! All the bells and whistles and is a v6. Great in snow and mud which I have a lot of both! Unfortunately the back light bar blew and was very expensive to replace. Most other issues, loose wires, happened under warranty. Love the product!

I have owned a Ford since I got my license at 16 years old. I have had nothing but issues with them, and I always think - Ill just try again. I will not be trying again. The last SUV I had was a Ford Edge. 58,000 miles the computer crashed it. Barely made warranty. 75k I had 2 different parts of the transmission go back to back, within months of each other. Shift solenoid one time, I believe the computer to the transmission the other. $4,000 later! Now, I have a 2015 Ford Fusion, bought brand new. I work from home and really do not drive a ton, but average, slightly under. Has 50,000 miles on it. Its already had the same shift solenoid transmission issue, and now it is back in the shop again - computer crashed. All done! The service guys are great, but the fact that this keeps happening on moderately new vehicles is absolutely unacceptable!
