Great car to look at but dangerous in city driving due to transmission. Nissans transmission would have to be the worst on the market. It does not work well in city where it has to change a lot. Very dangerous at take off, motor revs a lot and you go nowhere (does not change up), seems to just slip.
I purchase a 2015 last yr 2014. March of 2015 I was driving on the highway going about 60/70 when my car dropped on its own all the way down to 10/15. Me and my kids were in the car. Took it to Sheridan Nissan where I bought the car from, they couldnt find anything. Well it happen again, this time my husband recorded on his phone showed the service department. They replace the transmission. Now 10/2015 the transmission seal broke.
I own three Nissan, two rouge and a Moreno 2011and 2012 and three Infiniti. I recently trade in my other two Nissan rouge and Moreno for two Honda civic because I dont trust Nissan that is last year. I still have one rouge that is payoff. My son love the car, he dont let me sell this one so I keep it. Last week the car wont shift. I take to Nissan dealer, they told me need to replace a piece of part and cost me $618 - of course Im not OK. I told the guy my car 2011 and only have 24,586 miles on it, why happen so fast? Well after he explain everything to me, I paid and got it fix. My three Infiniti is a lease but I do not plan to lease another Inifniti or buy another Nissan.
Over the past 12 years, I have purchased 6 Nissan vehicles, with the last being in May of this year. In all those years, I have never been late on a payment and have sometimes paid my loans off early. Unfortunately, I filed for bankruptcy two years ago, which was granted. The only thing I kept from that was my Nissan vehicle. In May of 2012, I traded my 2006 Pathfinder for a 2012 Rogue and received financing at 1.9% from the dealership in California where I had purchased several other cars. Since then, I have retired from law enforcement and moved my family to Bowling Green, KY. On 11/07/12, we went to the local dealership to look at the new Nissan Pathfinders. At that time, while investigating trading in our recent purchase for a new Pathfinder, I was told NMAC wouldn’t give me a reasonable interest rate again since I was lucky to get the one in May because of my bankruptcy. Having been a loyal customer and having spent the money I have with your corporation, I felt pretty cheap having been treated that way. If Nissan feels like they were doing me a favor for buying their vehicle, I will have to go somewhere else to purchase my next one.
I bought a Certified Used 2010 Nissan Murano SL with 31,339 miles on 01/31/2013 from Crowley Chrysler Plymouth, Inc. I also opted for the Nissan Security Plus Extended Protection Plan when I bought the car. I am very happy with the car and all of the car’s features. It is exactly what my wife and I needed. I do, however, have one issue since buying the car.On 03/11/2013, I took the car in to my local dealer for routine servicing. The car had 34,099 miles at the time. The dealer asked if the car had its 30,000 mile servicing. I did not know, but I assumed the answer was yes since the car was certified. I had attempted to get the service records on the car from Crowley, but they declined to give them to me saying that there were privacy concerns giving me another client’s maintenance records (I thought this was odd at the time, but did not challenge it). My current dealer offered to check with Crowley service to see if the car did in fact receive its 30,000 mile servicing. The answer he got was no. So I requested that this servicing be done and also asked for the car to be inspected.Upon receiving my bill, I was a little shocked. The bill was $1,393.01! Here is what was done: 30,000 mile required maintenance per Nissan manual; the car needs 4 new tires to pass inspection. The rear two tires tread was below standard, and the front two were very close to being below standard. Since this is an all-wheel drive car, the dealers recommended that all four tires be replaced. I agreed; and the alignment was out on all four tires, therefore an alignment was required. Since I was buying a certified used car, I did not expect any of these issues to be present. Question: shouldnt these issues have been taken care of by the dealer that sold me the car? Resolution: after several conversations with Nissan, I was told that there was nothing that Nissan could do, and that I should try to work something out with the two dealerships.Nissan Certified Vehicles Program is a scam. It allows the dealership to ask more for a certified vehicle, but gives the client no assurance that they are getting something in the deal. Unless you are willing to check all of the 150+ items on the certified checklist prior to purchase, you will be holding the bag if something is wrong later. In my case, the rear tires were just in spec. (5/32) at the dealership where I bought the car and not able to be inspected (2/32) on my first visit to my local dealership a little over 2,000 miles later. Nissan did not stand behind their process and left me in the middle between two dealerships - a losing proposition for anyone finding themselves in this position.
I had horrible experience with Nissan Dealers in Atlanta, First of all, Their treatment is Lowest & never bothered about customer views. Sat down for 3/4 Hours & they even did not offer water. At least they asked us to sit. The second thing is about pricing. Over the phone, they told us that price for leasing the Nissan Leaf S model with Quick charge about $260 per month without VPP. After talking to them, they told us that price gone up to $363 per month. They wasted our complete Saturday with precious time for us since schools are opening on Monday. I want some senior officials from Nissan USA to look into this matter. You cannot cheat customers like this. I decided I will never buy/Lease any Nissan car in Future.
My situation is no different than most of these other complaints, so Ill be brief. My local Nissan dealership says that they have no idea why my 2011 Juke refuses to start from time to time. Even after replacing my alternator, (700.00) they still dont know. Its a pity that the Nissan dealership cant repair their own vehicles.
I purchased a Nissan Rogue in 2014. I absolutely loved my Rogue. Until one day I was driving and the rpms revved up and then started slowing down. My husband had to come follow me home so I didnt get slammed. My Rogue only had 90,000 miles. I called Nissan and was told, Oh you are out of warranty, sorry cant help you. I lost my job and then the bank took my vehicle. It has destroyed me financially. I was told that until people die because of these bad transmissions Nissan will never do anything about it. I will never be able to buy a car again because of this. I am 58 and always had good credit until now.
I have called your finance department Nissan Canada Finance on multiple occasions including today regarding an outstanding payment on my third lease with Nissan (2011 Maxima.) Payment overlooked due to family health issues. The outstanding balance was paid for earlier this year (2016) through your collection agency and payment confirmed by Nissan Finance. I am still getting letters and calls from Credit Risk Management Canada Ltd. asking for payment. I was told by your finance department to resolve it myself with CRM. (How rude and arrogant.) I have been wasting my valuable time dealing with various people regarding this issue. I find it very disturbing that your finance department would not contact the credit agency to confirm the payment. If the calls and letters continue from Credit Risk Management, I will be contacting my lawyer, as I feel this is a form of harassment. I am now on my fourth lease with Nissan and do not expect to renew or purchase with Nissan or Infinity in the future. Your finance department staff are uncaring, rude and condescending and have left me very dissatisfied and angry. UPDATE - Its now Feb 2017 and not one follow-up call or apologies. PS: I miss one payment after 14 years with Nissan and I am considered a criminal. They need to send their hounds after. Nissan - The Donald Trump of Car Companies.
Leased new Infiniti QX70 in 2017. Never missed a payment, or late. Reported as 30-day late to credit bureau 2 months before lease ended because the local sales tax had changed from 6% to 7%, and even though I made the payment, I was $5.38 short. Never knew the rate changed! I am paperless, and make automatic payments. Why would I imagine that my payment would change when I entered into a contract for a specified amount for 36 months? I have leased/owned 4 Infiniti vehicles (QX4, G35, EX35, and QX70) for more than 25 years, and only now have I ever had any issues. Their answer: TOO BAD. My response: Never will I lease/buy another Nissan or Infiniti. And will steer any I know away.
My Terrano 11s alternator went down and so I contacted my local garage who after ringing round said that the part would cost a massive £130-00 inc VAT. The part would take a couple of days as this was a Friday. I thought that I would also try to see if I could speed things up a little by contacting my local Nissan dealer, Nissan Bradford (Bristol St Motors), they also said that it would take a few days and the cost would be ONLY £1300-00, yes £1300-00. When I complained all I got was that Nissan set the cost and thats all there was to it. Is it that the warranty was different? NO. Both had 1 years warranty. Is the Nissan part made of Gold? No. It is in my opinion that They are BOTH profiteering.
I recently purchased a car from a Nissan Dealer and there was no mention about returning the car if you were not satisfied. I emailed the salesman who practically forced me to sign the deal and he has yet to respond. I was satisfied with the car until night time came and realized how important the extra features would have been. There are no power windows, no power locks, no light on the ignition keyhole, not even a mirror on the sun visor. Im basically paying for a 2015 glorified golf cart for the next 6 years. Im not saying I want to walk away completely from the deal because I know how much these clowns value their commission, but Id like to purchase a better car for the money.
In March of 2008, we purchased a 2008 Nissan Armada from a Nissan dealer in Georgia. We were told by the finance man that we would be able to refinance when we made 6 months of on-time payments. Well, 6 months passed and when we called to refinance, we found out that the company doesnt refinance. We decided to just chalk it up and continue paying. Since the economy fell and a serious health issue in our family, we have been making payments but have been struggling. We receive several harassing calls every hour about a payment. We have explained the situation with the reps (as useless as they are) but they dont want to listen or are willing to help. Im on the verge of telling them to come get the car and shove it where the sun doesnt shine!
The CVT Transmission failed in my 2012 Rogue with 86,000 mileage and Nissan is aware of this issue in other models and has never corrected the issue. Driving along and the gas pedal would not move the vehicle and this was very serious on the road. Someone could lose their life if this is not corrected! Nissan will not assist in the repairs even though they are aware of this issue because I had to take the vehicle to a local transmission garage and not a Nissan Dealership Service Center. I did contact them and they offered no assistance whatsoever. Pretty much told me I was out of luck. Never again will I purchase from Nissan.
2005 Nissan Xterra, low miles (less than 60,000). Oil in radiator (Listed on mechanics repair summary). Engine replacement cost $6,000. Submitted claim to Nissan as part of Class Action. Received settlement of $190. Should have been obvious that: 1) Engine shouldnt fail at 60,000 miles (Nissan mechanics have told me that engine is bullet-proof), 2) engine oil in radiator indicates some level of engine failure.
Never ever will I buy another Nissan. Let me share my experience with you. I was happy to lease my new Xterra last fall (8 months ago). However, they never sent me billing info or statements; yet, they began harassing phone calls immediately. I mean 8-10 calls per day and mostly from people that spoke very broken English. I would state that no payment book was ever sent nor any statement sent to my address. This was the case for the first three months. And yet, the harassing phone calls continued as well as late payment fees. I even drove to and spoke with the general manager at the Nissan dealership where I leased the vehicle. He stated that they had had many complaints about Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp from customers.My newest issue was this month when I moved into a new home and was also traveling for work (June 2012). Because so much was going on, I forgot to send out the payment the first of the month, and the harassing phone calls began immediately. Im not talking 3-4 weeks late. Im talking 7-10 days late and phone calls all day, every day, including weekends. I called Nissan to pay for this month and next and they told me that I have almost $500 in toll-booth violations I have to pay. This puts me over the edge. One, I use toll highways maybe once or twice a month. If that, two, I have EZ Pass and it comes right out of my account. After speaking to several reps who speak very limited English, I am put on hold for 20 minutes and am eventually disconnected. I called back and went through the entire experience again and finally got to speak with a supervisor. I tried to explain my situation after again giving all my info (which takes an eternity) and the supervisor begins talking over me from the very first moment, arguing and questioning everything I am saying. She will not listen to anything I say and tried to argue with me, basically calling me a liar. This continues until I can take no more and I snapped.Advice: regardless of how much you like the Nissan vehicle you are looking at purchasing, dont buy a Nissan. I have owned dozens of cars and have never ever had a negative experience like this from day one. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Most unprofessional people/organization I have ever had to deal with!
It was Friday July 3rd 2015 we and just arrived back home and it was storming and rain and my father had put the vehicle in park and then had said he was going to fix the gutter and I had went to go hold the ladder so my father wouldnt fall and he had asked me to go get the drill and returned back outside and my father and I had heard someone screaming and went to go see who it was and it was my mother. She was on the ground and couldnt get up. She said she had reached to go turn the truck off and was in the truck. Went to get out and the door had knocked her down and all of a sudden the vehicle ran over me. Now Im in a wheelchair And I have severe bruising and 8 inch cut behind my left leg and will be like this for at least two months. And then maybe have to have surgery on leg and foot. My truck is under a recall, a 2005 Armada Nissan... Please call me ASAP **.
Case number was opened because we were eligible for the battery replacement under warranty. We were unable to replace the battery, because the case number was prematurely closed without prior notification. Please advice, who should we contact regarding re-opening the case. Contacting customer service did not help.
Three months after we bought our Nissan Versa, we got a call from a very snotty representative informing us that they had given us the incorrect title for our car and wanting us to bring it back (an hour and a half drive one way) so they could straighten it out. The fuel mileage was grossly misrepresented on the vehicle. The sticker said it was supposed to get 38 mpg, and I only get 30 at most - all highway driving by the way.The warranty is worthless - a piece of trim flew off the car roughly 5 months after we bought the car, and shortly thereafter, the plastic fog lens replacement piece fell off. The local dealership gave the run-around, canceling two appointments because they didnt want to have to waste their time with us. Just recently (33,000 miles), we realized that the tires needed to be replaced. We called the dealership where we had originally bought the car and were told that unless we had detailed records showing we had done the rotations exactly per their schedule, we were out of luck. The warranty was supposed to be 3 years/36,000 miles bumper to bumper. What a crock!We were told at the Nationally Recognized Chain store we took it to, that Nissan purposely toes-in the tires on their small cars to make the car seem to handle better than it really does. They had badly over-toed the tires on this car, hence the exxagerrated baldness on the tires.
Had a life threatening experience with my 3 month old Nissan Leaf. It would stall while driving. Took it to the service center multiple times but they were not able to diagnose it. Horrible customer service. I will never recommend this car to anyone in my life.
I got a 2017 TITAN I pay 441 a month for. I have embarrassingly made 2 of the payments in a loaner vehicle, had to cancel 2 family trips, and continue to be inconvenienced by Nissan both at corporate level and at dealership level. What ever happened to customer satisfaction? What ever happened to making the bad situation or experience right? NISSAN USA doesnt understand these concepts. Seeing everything that I have gone through with my truck has turned off two neighbors of mine from buying Nissan product.
My car has been in the shop since December 13, 2016 and cannot be repaired because the wiring harness is not available. Nowhere in the USA and they do not want to bring it from JAPAN. Nobody answers you, the customer service and parts dont do anything to solve this problem, they do not give you an update, meanwhile I am paying for a lease car that I am not able to use, and they do not want to give me a loaner until they finally bring the part, and they do not want to pay for a rental. Nobody knows when the part will be available.
I have tried to open an online account to make lease payment 3 times. Every time, there is some issue. This time they wanted my account number. I dont walk around with my account number, and the letter they sent, has a lease number, which I guess, is not the same. When I called the cust. service number, I was put on hold so long, I finally hung up. In any event, you can bet your life that they would not of given me acct. number over the phone anyway. I like my new car, but being in cust. service myself, I find it laughable that I cannot find good cust. service anywhere. Based on these three call, which took up 3 lunch hours to try and complete, I WOULD NOT BUY ANOTHER NISSAN, NOR WOULD I RECOMMEND THEM EITHER... LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE AFTER THE SALE... Typical!!!
I am very disappointed to come on here and do this. I bought a 2012 Nissan Versa in 2014. I loved that car. At the time the dealership seemed nice. It was all handshakes and how can we help you. Fast forward till today and they are the single worst entity I have ever had to deal with. Background: I unfortunately was in a car accident (no one was hurt) but my car was totaled. I wasnt an idiot, I had all the insurance I needed including GAP. I put in all my paperwork, work with the loan company and my insurance and the GAP company. Everything was going fine. Then, the woman from the GAP company emailed me saying that Nissan was insisting that I received the Security Plus extended service contract for free (which it clearly states on my Finance contact I was charged $935 for). I think to myself, not a big deal, I have my copy of the finance contract. I had already sent it to her, so I didnt see a problem. But there was a huge problem.The Gap company gets a cancellation quote for these services. But since Nissan was insisting I got it for free she couldnt get a quote. So, she calls Nissan, Nissan tells her I have to call. I call them. They say I have to speak to the dealership (which I am not at all in close proximity to at this point), but they are more than happy to contact the dealership and have them reach out to me. They said it would take probably a day before I heard back. Well, I never heard back from Edison Nissan. I called the woman back, but she stopped answering her phone weeks ago. She also will not return any of my messages. Her name is Janeesha, run the other way if you have to talk to her.This is a unique thing I have run into with this. I called the dealership myself trying to speak to someone in Finance a few times. Well, what they always do is transfer me to someone with a full mailbox. I cant leave message (not that I think they would call me back if they did get my message), the phone doesnt even ring. I call back and when the sales person answers (there is not published number for Finance because why would anyone need that), I ask for a direct line. They cant give it to me.So, I have upped the game on them, so now its their turn to up the game (I guess, that is what it feels like, like they are playing games with me and my finances). They say, well, I can transfer you to reception and they should have numbers they can give you. Great I say, Put me through. I thank the guy on the other end of phone, he transfers me to a voicemail, that says for me to leave a message, then promptly hangs up the phone so I cant leave a message.Its a shame. Their cars are awesome in my opinion. But I would never ever buy another car from Nissan because I would have to deal with a horrible dealership or a terrible phone support team. These people are only interested in you when you are ready to give them money. I get that, I do. Im not trying to vilify them, I know theyre profit driven like any company. But I find the fact that I cant get 5 minutes of a single persons time when I actually need them to do something for me! I knew what I wanted to buy when I went in, I made the sale very easy on them. I test drove, I was satisfied, I bought. Now I need something from them and they dont give a damn. Never again, Nissan, never again. I love how at the bottom of my Finance Contract it reads: Customer/Lending in Truth Contract. Except for when its provided as proof and no one cares what it says.
I recently bought a Nissan Juke. My Cube had died at 260000 miles after it carried me through 7 of my 14 Caravan To Catch a killer tours for my daughter. It seemed I got a pretty good interest rate with Nissan finance. 3 days before the first payment was due March 13th I attempted to go online and was able to access the website. March 13th was my first payment since I bought the card January 28th but on March 12th it was telling me I was already past due one payment than that old 800 dollars. I still decided to try to play them and I knew was due. but when I tried to access the Bill Matrix every time I click on it it would not open. The next morning the 13th, I went on Nissan finances website and every time I click make a payment it kicked me off the website. Id sign back in, it kicked me out.Then I tried calling twice. First it said it couldnt find my account by my social security numbe. At first, it wouldnt take my account number then when it finally did, instead of giving payment options, it sent me to talk to somebody but people dont man phones on weekend and hung me up - ten-to-one it was sending me somewhere for being overdue which I wasnt. This was on the 12th and I didnt owe 2 payments. Finally last night I went on and got on the website and actually opened bill matrix. I needed an option putting it on the credit card and it listed discover as an option. I put in my account number and all the other information and click on choose payment, it only gave me the option of debit card or check... again possibly because it was saying I was past due which I wasnt.Today Monday, it is a day late. I have called 4 times and each time I was on hold for 33 minutes before I hung up. The last time I started at 515 Central Standard Time and was still on hold until 6 w. They closed their real life people at 7. Im right in the process of trying to push for a law here in Oklahoma and at times must use my credit to help support it through publications etc as well as travel on my CARAVAN tours to seek tips for daughters killer. And there is no email or direct way to get through.
I purchased my Night Armor colored Frontier new in 2011. It wasnt until after my paint began to flake off the front fender wells, that I researched online and found this to be a long standing problem with Nissan Frontiers. I expected the paint to fade and lose its luster over time but to have the paint just completely flake off is something I wasnt prepared for. The exterior of my truck was detailed on a regular basis that consisted of washing, clay bar, sealant and waxing and yet my paint is flaking off, along with rust in the water channels on the roof. This without a doubt is a manufacturers defect in the paint process or the paint itself that Nissan refuses to acknowledge. Toyota has a similar issue on some of their vehicles but they have gone as far as extending the paint warranty to 14 yrs for all of its customers, kudos Toyota. There is no indication that the problem has been resolved on the 2022 Frontier model... BUYER BEWARE. This is a clear indication why they are losing market share... Nissan has lost me as a repeat customer!!!
I recently purchased a 2011 Nissan Rogue, on August 26th at Concordville Nissan in Pennsylvania. At first, it seemed as though I purchased a very good vehicle. It was a certified car, the mileage was reasonable, it had only one owner and it looked great. This praise quickly turned into a nightmare. During the test drive the passenger side windshield was covered by the cars feature list and certified sticker, covering the small crack I noticed the next day. I called Concordville and informed my salesman (Pat) about the crack and he told me to bring it in to be fixed. I wasnt able to do that then because I was going away to New York and then to Baltimore.On both of my trips I noticed the front wheels were swaying slightly, gliding to the left or to the right. On my return, I immediately contacted the service department (Sept. 11) about this new concern. After the car was inspected (Sept. 14), the Service Advisor (Darren **) informed me that there is a crack in the right side axle. WOW! I tried to shun the idea of what could have happen if the axle would have broken with my family and me driving that car while on vacation. Even though, the problem was fixed the same day, I am now worried about what new problem will arise. I no longer enjoy driving this car in fear of what other unknown defect will surface. On the same day the car was being repaired, I spoke with the Sales Manager (Ryan **) about my issues, explaining the entire situation. He seemed concerned about my frustration and even said he would confer with the Service Manager (Mark) about getting me into a different car. After, I asked if that was an option. No promise was guaranteed. As I returned to pick up the Rogue I requested to speak with Ryan **, he was unavailable, but Ryan ** was. So, I explained to situation again and again talking about getting a different car. He said he would look into it. This was around 3:30 pm. After waiting around for about two hours a salesman name Mark approached me and asked if I was being helped. I told him I was waiting on Ryan **. Mark went to the counter where Ryan ** was, talked to him a little and came back over and said who is helping you again? Then Pat, the salesman who sold me the car came over and asked me was my car still being repaired? No, I replied. Now getting angry because, not only was I forgotten about, no one seemed to know what Im talking about. I explained my situation once again.After 3 hours I was finally called over to the counter where now both Ryans are. Theyre telling me that: (1.) the axle wasnt cracked. The problem was with the ball bearings, but I have an invoice explaining the issue was the right front drive shaft. (2.) I can get into another certified car, a 2012 Morano that is going to cost me $645 a month with a $4000 down payment. I left the dealership very confused and upset. I just want to express how disappointed and frustrated I am with this whole process, from the issues with the car to the poor customer service. Now I see why they wouldnt show me any other car. I will never purchase another nor, will I recommend any of my family, friends or co-workers to purchase a Nissan Certified Car. I am also filing a consumer complaint with the Attorney General office in my state.
I purchased my 2015 Nissan Murano June 2015 because my family and I love the new body design, overall performance is nice, I wished I did not have to send a bad review. My problem is with the tires installed on this vehicle by Continental Tire, I first started noticing the problem around 25k miles; I noticed cracks and pieces of rubber are coming off tires. At 26,000 I contact Nissan customer service and Continental Tire with no success. This experience is leaving a bad taste of customer satisfaction by Nissan USA for next time I decide to buy another new vehicle. I do not think is fair that buying a $40k vehicle should need new tires before the 50 to 60k miles. I took my vehicle in to Mossy Nissan in Houston the dealership I purchased from, and I been told that Nissan denied any warranty on tires. I am in the auto service industry and I know the importance of maintaining ones vehicle so I rotate the tires twice year. When I first notice the problem I check the alignment thinking that it may be alignment issue but was not the case; in fact my front end tech explained that a new vehicle should not need an alignment unless it had been on an accident or in abused driving. Our familys vehicle is used for pleasure weekend driving, and week wife works 5 minutes from home; so most of regular city driving about 7,500 miles per year, other highway miles 3 to 4 trips to the Valley in the last 3 years.
Ive been a customer of Nissan since August 2018. Ive purchased my first brand new car on July of 2018 through Fairfax Browns Nissan. Since then, Ive had multiple incidents with my car having mechanical issues. First, I had issues with my radio/audio not working, more specifically, my car not connecting to my phone. This has been going on since 2018 and Ive reported it multiple times to the Nissan dealership but they failed to fix the issues. Initially, I was told that I needed to replace some parts with the USB but even after, it never got fixed. Second, my car stopped working (it would not turn on with the start/push engine starter).When I called Nissan, they instructed me to put the key close to the push/start starter and try to start the car. Initially, it did not work so I ended up getting my car towed from my employers parking garage which I ended up paying out of my own pocket. This initial problem happened late at night so I could not get in contact with Nissan. I called the Nissan during business hours, and was told it had something to do with the battery and they stated they would change the battery of the keys. After taking the time off work to go to Nissan to fix the problem, they finally changed the battery of my keys.Few days after, my car kept having the same issues. After talking to multiple mechanics and doing some research, I was told about some recalls on my car. The next day, I ended up calling Nissan again, and notified them about the recalls and the issues. I was told that they would look into it. During this whole time, I had to use a rental lended by Nissan. After about a week, Nissan told me that there was no issue and they asked me to pick up my car which I did.While I was at the shop, trying to start my car, my car stopped working again and would not start. I was furious at this point because I had to take off work AGAIN to get my car fixed. I drove the rental car again and went back home. I called Nissan the next day to check on the status of my car and asked what the issue was and why they didnt fix the issue. Nissan responded by saying we didnt fix the issue because the problem didnt occur while the car was in the shop. (After I told them about the recalls that needed to be fixed).After another week of not having my car, I finally got a call asking to pick up my vehicle from Nissan. I was told they fixed all the problems and my car should be working fine. On my way back home after picking up my car, it started having another issue. My car started making a loud beeping noise and had a big warning light on the screen. I immediately called Nissan again and told them about the issue and was told to turn around and bring the car back... Being frustrated and angry, I asked what was the issue and they said, the mechanic has to look at the issue and try to figure out what was wrong with it. After, I was told it had something to do with the sensor (I found this really weird because I never had this problem.). They ended up giving me another rental car and told me it would take about another week because they would have to order the parts and replace the problem.After reaching out to multiple Nissan customers, I was told that I could have possibly been sold a Lemon Car with multiple issues. With my warranty almost running out and not getting help from the service department and the sales department, I was told to contact the Nissans corporate office to file a complaint. Initially, I decided to change from Honda to Nissan because I really liked the looks of Nissan vehicles and was told by some people about their great experiences with customer service.Unfortunately, for me, I had a terrible and awful experience with Nissan customer service and felt like I was getting taken advantage of because the sales department kept calling me to come in for better deals (which never happened). They continuously kept convincing me to lease a brand new car with higher monthly payments to avoid future issues after Ive already made around $6000 of payments on my new car which already depreciated a lot in value. After talking to the corporate office, they basically told me according to the “Lemon Law”, they can’t do anything for me so now I’m stuck with a messed up brand new car. DONT EVER BUY A NISSAN! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!
The Nissan van I have purchased is having problems with its digital dash board (distance, gas, hot/cold readout). I live in Washington, D.C. My vehicle will not pass inspection if they cannot see the mileage on my vehicle. Through discussing this problem with the vehicle inspectors in Washington, D.C. area, they have informed me that most Nissan made cars are experiencing this similar problem. I have also found other Nissan owners who are experiencing the same problems. I feel as though, since this is an important issue and it seems to be a common issue, that Nissan should fix this problem with either no or minimal charge.
I bought a 2014 Pathfinder in January of 2017. It was just out of warranty by mileage and the ABS computer went bad. The Nissan Dealership here locally was very nice and helpful and had never seen this issue before. It is unsafe and unreliable because the speedometer, gas gauge, and the 4-wheel drive do not work when experiencing this issue (I live in a snowy area so I do need the 4 wheel drive to turn on when those conditions are present). I would also say that 36k miles and one prior owner with a clean CarFax Report is a bit early for the ABS computer to fail and so I do believe this is a manufacturing issue with the unit failing prematurely.I completely understand that once the car is out of warranty, Nissan does not have to do anything to help out. However, given the nature of the issue and how recently the car was out of warranty (and only by mileage), I would have thought they would be able to help out in some way. For instance, taking care of the labor or even just giving the dealership a direct purchase cost on the part without a markup. The part is $1400 and the labor is $600. I would have been happy with a minor discount on the repair. However, as other reviewers have commented, the consumer affairs department of Nissan exists to read you the warranty terms. This is my first Nissan, which I bought because of the name and associated reliability, but I will never buy another Nissan after this experience.
Never in my life will I return to this dealership (Power Nissan at South Bay) and I advise to be very careful when dealing with the people here. I came into the dealership requesting a Lease Buyout Packet which I was instructed to get from Nissan USA after calling over the phone. So I come in and I was told to wait for **. I waited over 1 hour to only be rushed out of his office, and after declining extended warranty, he literally threw me the purchase order. I couldnt believe the service this man was providing my father and I. I took the purchase order to my credit union to finalize the loan being that I didnt like the customer service given to me there at the dealership. The credit union mailed Power Nissan South Bay the check. I figured we were done and the loan was paid off. Well I was wrong. The same rude unprofessional man by the name of ** called my father and basically threatened him with returning the check back to the credit union if he didnt go in the dealership right there and then to sign the paper work for the extended warranty. My father told him “I don’t speak English.” He then told my father “You’re in America, not Mexico.” My dad couldnt believe his ears. He then called me to tell me what was going on. I then called Power Nissan and requested to speak to ** and then it all went down. This man began to yell and curse me out after I questioned him for harassing my father. He stated that we better go in there ASAP or else. I then asked to speak to his manager and he stated “I am the manager. I’m the senior manager and I don’t have time for you. Go somewhere else” and hung up on me. I called him back and told him Id be coming to pick up the check. He then said “Don’t bother its been destroyed.” So now my question is what’s going to happen to my loan. And where did all this come from. Never in my life have I seen or dealt with such an animal. Yes animal, he is not human. A human doesnt treat others this way. I am so disappointed and don’t even want my 2 Nissan vehicles anymore. I will never ever purchase or support a Nissan dealer after this horrific experience. I have reported this incident to Yelp, BBB, Nissan Corporate I want this to be known. You do not have the right to treat customers this way. I don’t know if this was an act of racism or if this man is just plain evil. Just because we are Mexican/Hispanic doesnt give you the right to treat us any less. The manager of Power South Bay is a total jerk - the rudest, meanest, ugliest person Ive ever met. Hope God forgives you.
I bought a brand new 2013 Versa with my hard-earned money. Within the first month, I had to bring it back to the dealer because the lock on the trunk broke and I was locked out of my trunk for three weeks waiting for the right part. My car has already broken down twice due to engine troubles. Thank God, I have the extended warranty. Seven months old and my car is already breaking down!!! Now, I have a rattling sound coming from the engine. I take good care of my car and I change the oil on time. Nissan service dept has been great but at this point, I just want my car to work the way it should!!!
Dropped off my 2013 Nissan Versa for the CVT recall. After I left and got onto the 101 freeway my car went from 60 MPH to about 10 right in front of a Big Rig truck. We crawled toward the nearest exit and went back to the dealer. They said it needed a new transmission and would be 4000 dollars. At 51,000 my warranty was up since it had been a few months over 5 years. They said it was still driveable since I didnt have the cash to fork over so we left and almost got hit as the car stopped on La Brea and Fountain. As I was in extreme distress and by the grace of God we were able to pull into an urgent care lot and the ladies said we could park the car there until we got a tow truck. This was the scariest thing that has ever happened to me and now I am unable to go anywhere as I have no car. Nissan... SHAME ON YOU!!!
This is a warning to all potential Nissan customers/owners. Nissan had my Son pay $130.00 for a diagnostic check to see if consumer affairs would fix his transmission that gave out exactly one year after purchasing his car from Paul Blanco dealership. Consumer affairs of Nissan denied his request for repairs due to my Son had too many miles on his car 11k to be exact. Instead of telling my Son this in the beginning, they took my Son $130.00 and went their merry way.I dont understand how a company can do so many people wrong. It is evident that there are issues with the transmissions to Nissan but no one is stopping to see why. I am frustrated to no end as a Mother watching her single parent Son pay for a vehicle he cant drive and if he turns the car back in gets a repo on his record. I needed to write this comment on behalf of my Son. We definitely would hate for someone else to have a similar experience. I pray God will vindicate my Son and the rest of the Nissan customers that have been bullied and robbed by Nissan. Thank you!
I had to have my 2009 370Z towed to the dealership twice. The dealership did not know the cause and the car just started after some testing. They released the car not knowing if it would do it again. 1-2 weeks later, on a Monday morning, the car did not start after my appointment with a client. The dealership, after weeks of review, could not test out or get the car started. In the meantime, I am working with a gal at consumer affairs. I told her what happened, and a week she called back stating they are not accepting the claim as if it were an owner maintenance issue and 3 months out of warranty. As we found, it was an electrical something in the steering column locking the car down as if it were being stolen. This is certainly not an owner maintenance issue and the car was only at about 32,000 miles. This little bit of time did not affect the outcome and certainly not the mileage. The problem is Nissan did not want to stand behind a known problem in other vehicles with the similar theft deterrent systems, but also because of the cost of replacing the whole steering columns - $1,200 plus. Welcome to my first Nissan experience. I will not buy another.
We ended our lease with Nissan through NMAC and had a balance due on our mileage. When we turned it in we bought TWO NEW ROGUES. Since we send monthly payments toward the balance on the lease instead of paying it all at once, they notified the credit bureau saying we did not pay the balance! We are paying them for three cars! Also, when we bought the cars they did not clean them meaning there is residue on the windows where the stickers were. Not even one follow up call, no notices for check ups. Really lousy customer service AFTER you close the deal. Totally disappointed. Cars run fine, the way they treat people is the problem. We will not buy from Nissan again.

2014 Versa Note SV bought New, found rust on the 3rd day of purchase in 12+ areas underneath including sub-frame and various components. Complained and requested replacement with a rust free car. Nissan wont replace or refund despite extensive correspondence, emails, phone calls, visits to the dealer, furnishing date stamped pictures of rust areas. Nissan is dragging its feet with feeble excuses - No excessive rust found, Rust is not affecting safety of the car, Rust not affecting performance of the car - which is why they will not replace it. Upon telling them that due to rust, the resale value of car is severely diminished to junk car value, they have nothing to say. Filed complaints with authorities including the Attorney General but they are slow to process so nothing has come of it so far and Nissan wont stand behind its products. BBB Autoline has sided with Nissan and they just pissed on the Lemon Law doing that - despite providing scores of date stamped photographs of the rust areas. Nissan is not giving me a charity car, nor it is a used car that they have sold me. I have paid full price with high interest for 6 years that I am going to be paying and I deserve a rust free car without defects but Nissan does not seem to agree to that. People, please think a thousand times before buying a Nissan. A company that is trying to get away using every lame excuse. I am afraid that Nissan may have sold a large number of cars to buyers with rust simply because the American buyer trusts manufacturers for their quality and integrity - but not in case of Nissan. If any law students/retired lawyers/lawyers are willing to help - for an affordable fee - as I can not afford a lot at this time - please help me and may God bless you for your kindness.
My 2017 Nissan Rogue on a dozen frightening occasions while I was accelerating uphill on a dry flat road dropped into lower gear and flashed the red alert triangle. Very scary. I have to take my foot off the gas pedal in order to be able to continue accelerating. Very terrifying especially with cars behind me. Nissan service manager and mechanics refuse to acknowledge the problem and treat me badly and tell me to come back with the incident recorded. I think that Nissan is very aware of the problem and is hiding it until there is a major fatality and they have to have recalls. I dont feel safe in my brand new car and I am treated terribly by the dealership management because they are sexist. Does anyone else have this problem? Please post if you do. This is very serious and I am terrified to drive my car.
I am the owner of a 2013 Nissan Rogue S AWD Special Edition. Prior to this vehicle I have bought Two and Leased Two, and believe me there is No Loyalty from this company. My complaint with Nissan is - on Sept. 2014 I brought my car to the Dealer MLG #34,387 Newburgh Nissan NY for CVT transmission problems. Whining and over heating causing loss of power while driving on the highway, very dangerous. They found an ABS code C1106. Had no problem until April 2015 and it happened again, whining and over heating causing loss of power while driving on the highway. So I brought it back to the Dealer MLG #45,452 Newburgh Nissan NY and they could not duplicate the problem and NO codes. OK so now I called Consumer Affairs of Nissan and I received a return call from ** (615) 725-7592 who gave my a REF. # **. Told her what was going on and she insisted that I take to a different Dealer for a Second Opinion. So thats what I did, I brought the car over to another Dealer MLG #45,963 April 2015 Middletown Nissan NY and they couldnt duplicate the problem as well and NO codes. And now to top it off, this problem its costing me money to a Rent A Car. OK So I picked up the car and on May 2, 2015 it happened again. On May 4, 2015 I had my friend hook up the scanner to check the system and found a stored code. Transmission Fault code P0744 Torque Converter ECU part # 31036-JM62A. So I brought the car back to the first Dealer Newburgh Nissan NY and thats where car is now, and they wouldnt give me a rent a car so I am stuck home. I purchased my Altima in 2011 from Newburgh Nissan, Harte Auto Group. Boy was I ripped off! I felt that I was bait & switched when it came to the deal and paperwork. Clearly, after I realized that I paid WAY too much for this vehicle, nobody wanted to hear about it. Not the dealership and not Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp. My payment is way too high for what I can afford since DAY 1. NMAC will NOT work with me regarding possibly modifying the terms of my loan. They dont care. Representatives there are very nasty. No notes was ever noted when I call. I seem to explain my story over and over again. Now nearly sinking clearly into a state of bankruptcy - JUST FOR THIS LOAN/CAR - Im sick to my stomach. In this day and age, you would think auto creditors would WANT to work with you - have a little bit of understanding and compassion to try and make it work. Nissan does NOT. I will NEVER recommend or purchase another Nissan product as long as I breathe and walk this earth. Ive made mistakes in my life - but this one was by far, the worst Ive ever done. Once again, not the dealer or NMAC will even try to listen to me or work with me to make my situation a little easier. DONT BUY A NISSAN!!!
I am trying to obtain the necessary form to transfer my lease. My original request was placed on July 19. I was told the form would be faxed and/or mailed to me. Several phone calls inquiring about the whereabouts of the document have produced only excuses and no results. My last three vehicles have been Nissan products but I can assure you, based on this experience, it will be my last. May I have the courtesy of a solution to this problem.
I leased a Nissan Leaf. I am very happy with the car; but after several attempts to initiate auto debits, NMAC began withdrawing payments from my bank account. But they never let me know that they considered my payments late. They never wrote to me to explain the situation. I only found out when I tried to refinance my mortgage that I had three late payments on my credit report. They respond to my letters with form letters that have nothing to do with my situation.
After reading so many bad reviews about Nissan Cars I thought I would weigh in. I owned a 2001 Nissan Altima 213,000 miles no major problems. Never changed anything major on this car. Its whole life oil every 3,000 and brakes. Drove this car to the Crusher in 2017 just for its age and bad sensor costing too much for the value of the car. I owned a 2005 Nissan Maxima SL 233,000 miles the transmission finally went. Engine is still strong. I only changed the 3 Timing chains at 160,000. Other than that I never changed anything major on this car. Its whole life oil every 3,000 and brakes. Got rid of this one because the transmission outweighs the cost of the car.I own a 2007 Nissan Altima S with about 80,000 miles on it and it still runs and drives well. The only thing I could say is it burns about a quart of oil in between oil changes. But is still very reliable. My next purchase is a 2010 SV Premium Maxima with 98,000 miles on it. And I have no problem with getting a Nissan with this mileage, because with proper care they will last well above 200,000 miles.
At 113,000 needed new transmission. After 18,000 heard same high whining noise after driving for 30 minutes. Said was transmission - gave me a new one. Its been 5,000 miles - same thing - and now say I need a transmission cooler kit which isnt covered under my transmission warranty. Will cost $1800. My question is how come when I got 2 new transmissions, the noise went away. If this was the original noise, how come it goes away after new transmission? The dealer and corp cant answer that. I believe wrong diagnosis and it is the transmission. I wont add $1800 to a used car without knowing thats the problem for sure. It may be the problem. Like I said every time I got a new transmission, it never made any noise. Only later after certain miles put on it. I will never buy a Nissan again and my family who owns will not either.
I purchased Nissan Murano from West Hills Nissan 2 years ago. Had no problem with them, treated me fairly, and I liked the car. Few weeks ago received a brochure from West Hills, offering me new car with lower monthly payment, so I went there, showed me Nissan Maxima and asking me $525 a month to lease. Told them it is expensive and they said ok. Few days later received a call from Kenny ** Nissan in Cranberry, PA and offering me a good deal. Told them the story about West Hills that I could not afford it, was told not to worry and they have many cars in their lot and I could get a deal. Called me few more times, so I agreed to go and see what kind of deal they got. I went with my son and we got there before noon. That was my biggest mistake to go there. 1st said $509 but I told them it is too high for me. I swear I tried to leave many times but they were keep asking me to wait to see what they can do for me. I was tired, my son was tired, but they didnt let us leave. It was late evening and we were still asked to stay. They had my Murano and because Murano was in excellent condition, they wanted to trade. By late evening the manager took me to Maxima in the showroom and reach out his hand to shake my hand and said he made mistake that $509 was for different color not for black one and asked me to shake his hand for $528 and he started shaking my hand. It is hard to believe but that is exactly what happened. They knew what type people we are, obviously not a smart one, who would pay $528 for Maxima for 3 years lease. They treated us like an idiot, took us to a room and said you have won something and asked us to pick a card from the board hanging on the wall to get our prize. He was one of the managers and congratulated us for winning the prize. He said you have to pay $35 or something similar to get an AAA insurance for road assistance. Told him I have road assistance included in my own Insurance. He got mad and for 10 minutes was pushing for me to sign up. Asked him about the car, said he does not know much about that car, that he was new, but still was asking for AAA to be added to my monthly lease payment. I had to force myself to leave that room. I asked almost everybody in there about some future in the car, they just wanted me to leave. They got their deal and I was not worth any more. I told them I had worth of $150 of dash cam accessories in the car that either let me take the car to outside shop to remove it or they have to do it for me. Was told to not worry they will remove it and I can come back to pick it up. The next day went back gave them the other key for Murano, but was told Murano was not there and they will call me. Waited 2 weeks and called the dealer was told they sold the Murano. I told the salesman that I am not happy and I am going to make a complaint, said he will call me back. 2 days later I called him myself said he talked to General Manager and they dont want unhappy customer so they offered 2 free oil changes. I just hung up on him. I dont know how many people were ripped off by these people, but its time to investigate their unhealthy business. I also contacted Nissan USA before make my case to public. I got a call from a very angry lady from NISSAN USA that kept telling I have to deal with the dealer.
This is a reliable vehicle. It is small and has a sporty feel but still feels safe. It handles well & acceleration. The trunk area is quite small but I can fit a surprising amount of stuff in the car with the seats down. One of the most important features I was looking for this time around was a vehicle with AWD. I found my previous car slip-sliding around in the big rainstorms we had over the last few years and I wanted to solve that problem for a safer, less-stressful commute. The Nissan Juke has good gas mileage, comfortable seats and good power uphill (my commute home includes a long trek into the foothills). My major complaint is the small gas tank! I have to refuel multiple times a week for commute. Stil, I would recommend this car.
So I bought a 2014 Nissan Sentra with 40k miles. I learned how to drive a stick in a 04 Sentra so I really wanted a new version after I sold my 04. Anyways. After about 4 months of having the vehicle my take off and accelerating was slow, if not completely gone. It took forever just to hit 50mph and I better not be on the highway because the minute I hit a hill whatever speed Im going will decrease even with my foot completely on the gas. It was over the time for a oil change so I took it in to get done. Problem went away so I thought I was in the clear but then it came back the next day. I forgot to mention that the engine light and traction light would come on every other day.I went to the Nissan dealership in Florence, SC where my mother was just incase I needed to steal her car. They ended up having to keep my car for 2 days because the engine lights werent on and they couldnt get a error code. Eventually they figured out it was a electrical problem and my backup communication system was failing and because of the 2 issues my battery was being drained so I needed a new battery too. The price ended up being $533. I called Nissan, started a claim, and within 24 hours I received a call back stated my claim had been approved and Nissan was going to pay 90%. Whoop whoop.The only issue was it took 10 days for the dealership to receive their check. Now those 10 days do include weekends and the 4th of July. My claim was approved Wednesday but I couldnt get my car back until the following Saturday. Even though the dealership talked to consumer affairs they wouldnt give me my car back until they got their 90%. Anyways since it was 10 days when I finally came to get my car my tech just gave it to me and forgave my 10%. I ended up paying nothing at all.
I have been very disappointed with Nissan and Bob Richards Nissan. My airbag light came on (not flashing). I was told that I had a sensor in the seat of the passenger that had gone bad. I was told that you could not replace the sensor only, but that you had to replace the whole seat to the tune of $4,300. My car doesnt even have electronic adjustments on the seat. After much discussion with Bob Richards Nissan and North Augusta, South Carolina and with consumer affairs for Nissan, I was told that I was out of warranty and that my extended warranty did not cover this. I am shocked that Nissan would not stand behind a safety feature on my car.I was told that my car had 90,000 miles on it, actually it has 99,090 miles on it and it was out of manufacture warranty. When I pick the car up I brought to their attention that my airbag light was not on anymore. I asked them did they disconnect something to cause the lights to go off and they said no that they could not do that. I told them that my light was not on anymore. One of the service guys said to the other one cant we just turn it back on. The other service guy said no we cannot do that. The technician who has been working on the car had reset the light and now it is off. I have driven about 60 miles and so far the light has not came back on. So, do I have a problem or not? What if I had given them $4,300 and did not even need to be fixed. The service guy wrote on my paperwork that he knew that the light has gone off and that the repairs still needed to be done. Well does it? I am very disappointed that Nissan or Bob Richards Nissan would not stand behind the safety feature on my car. I asked the service guy how many times something had to go bad on cars in order to have a recall on a feature, especially a safety feature. He said he did not know. I will never buy a Nissan again. I drove a Toyota Camry prior to this car and it had two hundred and eighty nine thousand miles on it in order to have a recall on a feature, especially a safety feature. He said he did not know. I will never buy Nissan again. I drove a Toyota Camry prior to this car and it had 289000 miles on it when I gave it to someone else and it is still on the road today. Next time I will buy Toyota, but not from Bob Richards Toyota. Again, I am disappointed and disgusted that a seat would cost $4,300.
My daughter decided to replace her Ford Fiesta 2010 which she had many problems with the dual clutch. She bought a new Nissan Juke 2017 at 417 Nissan (Ottawa, Ontario) thinking there wont be issues, its new right? The car had maybe 25 km on it when she left the dealer, drove for 10 km and service engine came up (just left the dealer). She went back to the dealer, it took 1 week for them to figure out that it was a manufactured pin that was not pushed completely down. She picked up her car, approx. 1.5 months after, she broke down again, got towed. Now they said it was the wiring harness that needed to be replaced, it took forever to get the part (4 wks). It got replaced and fixed, drove it again for not even 1 month. This time it was worse. She thought the car was going to explode, RPM going crazy and could hardly go forward, service engine everything was lighting up in the dash, she got towed the 3rd time. My daughter is only 18 years old, making her bi-weekly payments and working 4 jobs. Now Nissan Finance have no problem digging in her account to withdrawal the payment when she has been asking since the 2nd break down to replace it with another Juke. Nissan (head office) wont even return our calls, they are not professional at all. Now the car is in the garage, lord knows what is the issue but service is terrible, not keeping us up to date and Nissan (head office) senior person is supposed to call us back within 24 hrs, still nothing. This is not acceptable.
Number one, we purchased a new 2013 Nissan Juke from Peltier Nissan in Tyler Texas. The salesman really tried to sell us on the Gold extended warranty program, representing that it would take over when the manufacturers warranty ended, and would cover such things as the motor. They have not been making us aware of all recalls, and in fact, it was my Google research that turned up the timing chain recall, when my wife complained it was making an odd sound. I didnt know there had already been a class action lawsuit filed about this very issue, and presumably, the recall was activated AFTER they were sued.While our vehicle was in for that repair, the drivers seat was ripped by someone there, and they refused to take the responsibility, and were demanding WE pay for the torn seat. I contacted people higher up and we were able to get the seat tear repaired and even though they told us they had to order a new seat cover, after we received the car back, I could see where a repair was made in the seat cover, so it would appear, they were not being completely truthful. Around 70,000 miles or so, my wife, who drives a lot as part of her work, told me that the vehicle was going 70 mph, and suddenly started losing power and depressing the accelerator would not increase the decreasing speed.At the same time, she got a Service Engine light and she called the Peltier NISSAN dealer where she purchased the car. They told her over the phone it would most probably be covered under warranty and they would give her a loaner car. In the next day or so, she was told that the loaner car was now a rental car and she would have to pay for the Turbo, as the extended warranty department was saying the oil was not viscous enough (first tech) and then the second tech said the oil was too viscous (and burned). We had to rent a car from a national chain for a week. Were very much inconvenienced, and had to pay thousands of dollars to get the vehicle back from the dealership.From checking online, there are many other Nissan products that have had the bearings / Turbo to go bad prematurely, and it looks like the techs fall back on the viscosity of the oil problem. An interesting fact was that during repair at Peltier Nissan, when the techs received the new turbo, from the OEM supply place, that turbo was defective right out of the box. We made the representative at Nissan in Tennessee aware of this on the phone with the tech standing right by us, and she didnt seem to care. They were holding the line that somehow, it was OUR fault that THEIR product failed prematurely. It is not known if the bearings they are using are failing prematurely due to metal fatigue or some problem with the metals they are made from, or if there are design flaws in the turbo / engine that are causing these failures.My wife kept proper levels of oil in the car, changed the oil, and they should reimburse us for repairs and the one week rental car expense. Personally, I will make it known to everyone I meet that Nissan and their extended warranty company, are screwing customers, and advise no one to purchase either a Nissan or their GOLD EXTENDED WARRANTY.
My husband and I bought a Nissan Rogue in California a couple years ago. It started having what we thought was transmission issues at about 95,000 miles. We immediately took it to the shop to be evaluated. They said there was nothing wrong. I continued to drive it and kept having problems. We took it in several times and every time they said there was nothing wrong. A few months ago we moved to Tennessee and drove our Nissan. We were in the middle of nowhere and suddenly my car stopped shifting. It was stuck in a high gear. We were finally able to make it to Tennessee to a Nissan dealership in Cookeville. We had an appointment for 8am. I took the day of so we could drop it off and came back to pick it up later in the evening. When we got there they were not friendly and clueless as to what was going on and where our keys were. Finally they figured out that nobody even looked at our car. They didnt apologize, take ownership of their mistake or offer us a discount! I had to take the next day off again to be able to go back and pick it up when they were done. They finally called and informed us that the transmission needed to be replaced. The reason my husband and I are so upset with Nissan is because we were then informed that the transmission had a warranty until 120,000 miles and we were actively trying to get it fixed since about 95,000 miles because we could tell it was going out! We have contacted Nissan to inform them of our experience and they dont seem to really care about their customers. The Nissan of Cookeville website states that their commitment is to provide their customers with top notch customer service but that is not near what we received!
A Service Advisor left me in the waiting area 8 hours and still didnt do the work. Within that time frame only the oil and tires were changed. Rushing to get my car to me, a technician or other help misplaced a lug nut, then entered a charge on the invoice as it were missing when I got there. I filed a complaint about my experience to Nissan of North America Consumer Affairs who informed management of the complaint. And management didnt reply. After the unpleasant and unethical experience I had my vehicle service elsewhere.
I have always wanted a truck and I really like purchasing my Nissan truck. It was reliable and it drives very good. I like the power it had to maintain a steady speed. It was good on gas to carry me far distances. My truck also had a stereo system in it which played very good. But I would add a DVD player to watch movies when Im on the road with my grand kids. I like the way it sits up high were I can see everything but I would also like to buy it with the windows tinted to keep the sun out in the summer time because I live in Florida. I would of also like more cup holders.
I have received one statement in the 5 months I have now had the car. I have not received one email, correspondence, or phone call from these people. I was not late in January for a payment and they lied and reported to the credit bureaus that I never made a payment in January when I paid $465 on 1/10/13. And then on 2/1/13, I made another payment which was supposed to be on 1/31/13 and then 2 payments in February as well on 2/23/13. They suck as a car manufacturer and as a lien holder. There was a reason that I had never purchased a car from them after 10 years ago and now I know why. I had leased a car with them for 7 months and got rid of it and now, after 5 months, I am ready to get rid of this car too. The fact is that it is a piece of crap and so is the company. They suck and they need to fix their error on my credit report as because of their screw up, my credit score dropped 40 points and now I will lose the new home I am buying.
I leased a brand new 2013 Nissan Altima SV a year ago (March 2013), 36 month lease, vehicle had 15 miles as a brand new lease. Gorgeous redesigned vehicle with all the bells and whistles that a consumer would really enjoy. In Feb. 2014 after an oil change at the dealer leased from, and with only 3,700 miles driven in less than a year, parked the car at a Parking Stall, in my development, car stopped, foot on the brake, while switching gears while parked and foot on the brake, while trying to shift gears from Drive to Park, car took off on its own, with an unintended acceleration and landed in the building in front of the parking spot (jumped the curb), causing an $8,000 damage to the vehicle that had no mechanical problems when purchased.Nissan Dealer when oil change, ran their inspection report and gave me a clean bill of health on this brand new car. I asked them about any recalls Nissan might have and all they said was, yes, the air bags are under recall, but you should BE FINE???? They did not have time to check they said, and when they ran their inspection report they said everything was fine...not sure how everything is fine when you only spend 15 minutes changing the oil and running inspection reports.I reported this accident to the dealer leased from and the dealer ignored me and said, we do not manufacture the vehicle. They were willing to RENT me another vehicle at $50 per day, or lease me a brand new one while I am still responsible for the lease in the malfunctioned vehicle, so they can profit from. No loaner offered. Reported this to Nissan Consumer Affairs, who I spent my personal time speaking with them for weeks and after several weeks of reporting this, they finally sent an investigator on 3/10, to the body shop where my vehicle is sitting not been able to repair, because Nissan Consumer Affairs was dragging their feet. Vehicle inspected for several hours on 3/10 and the latest from Nissan Consumer Affairs, sorry we cannot do anything for you until we get a report from the Nissan Investigator in a few weeks??? In the meantime, I am responsible for paying the lease payments and Nissan Lease company, offered me on option of getting out of the lease, if I paid them $6,000 since I have the lease for two more years, and never been late in payments. I know for a fact that I did not put my foot on the accelerator, while already stopped and lost control of the vehicle like this vehicle was possessed. The insurance company, is willing to give me the payment for repairs, but Nissan with their investigations prevented this, and needless to say, I am afraid after collision repairs to drive an unsafe vehicle that malfunctioned on its own. This vehicle obviously was not safe. If one of my neighbors was walking in front of this vehicle I could have killed someone, instead this vehicle was responsible for property damage and I have been without a vehicle that I am paying for over ONE MONTH.This has not only caused me time off work, medical bills for a head injury I did not know I had during this impact, but still have no solution and Nissan Consumer affairs seems too busy with other issues to worry about one more consumer complaining. If I was dead perhaps a better investigation will have taken place. How many other incidents have not been reported.
I bought a Nissan as my first vehicle because my mother always had a Nissan. Her mother and father always had a Nissan. When it came time for me to buy a vehicle, I wanted to go with someone I could trust, who always provided quality cars and service. Is that a thing of the past? My 2011 Nissan Cube with a CVT transmission is a piece of junk! After just 5 years and 72000 miles the CVT needs to be replaced. The dealership is asking $5000 for the repair. More than Ive been able to save since buying my first car.Since this happened Ive found out about their 2015 lawsuit, and the warranty extension for 2010 cubes. The CVT is still a safety hazard, but after talking to them I found out that denying theres a problem, and me help, is more important than maintaining a generational chain of Nissan customers and loyalty. An auto manufacturer I can trust with my life is worth generational loyalty. When they know their CVTs have a problem, I know they have a problem, the entire internet knows they have a problem, then the only thing I want to do is pay my car off and find a new manufacturer I can trust, and be loyal to... Because its obviously not Nissan.
Ive had the privilege of driving 3 Nissans because our family owns 3 models: a Sentra, a Vanette and an Exalta. I first learned how to drive using the Vanette. Simply put, its my favorite car brand. Ive also had the chance to drive other car brands, but I just dont get the same feeling as when I drive a Nissan. Ive been driving for 12 years and I hope that when I can finally afford to buy my own car, therell be an awesome Nissan car waiting for me to buy it. BTW - that Nissan Juke advertisement with the typo was genius. Kudos to Nissan for thinking of something brilliant to promote their SUV. Cant wait to see what they have to offer next!
Bought a new 2005 Nissan Sentra from Nissan in 2005. In 2015, only have 74,000 miles. Catalytic Converter and Engine still under warranty. Catalytic Converter went out and caused damage to the Engine. Let Nissan look at my car one day. Engine light was on. Could not find problem. Took car out and air conditioner not working! Only blew hot air! Had to pay over $500! Left car at Nissan. Kept given different dates to pick up car. Nissan claim they were waiting on parts, and kept my car for 6 weeks! Was given a free rental car under the warranty. Cannot drive rental car for my job! Lost six weeks of wages.
Cape Cod, MA: At the end of Jan. 13, I purchased a high-end 2010 luxury Maxima SV with 33k miles. The dealer pushed a $2000 extended warranty on me saying mine would run out at 36k. When I read it over carefully, I realized that this did not cover everyday issues (exp: brakes, tires, etc.) and every item that was covered were parts/issues that Nissan would be bound by LAW to correct anyway! (I know this as the previous Director of the BBB & of the Consumer Assistance Council in our region working closely with our State Attorney Generals Public Protection Bureau.)As an educated consumer, I cancelled this useless policy, and surprise - in December 13, 6k miles over the ridiculous 36k warranty (less than any other manufacturer to my knowledge), my beautiful Maxima had me, a woman, stranded in a dark parking lot on an icy rainy Sunday night. It was incapacitated due to a faulty part in the steering column connected to the push start. After research I found that there are MANY HUNDREDS of complaints and horror stories regarding this issue & that Nissan had recalled the defective part on 2009 models. Although I expect the 2010 Maximas also contain this defective part. This brought me on a journey to complain to Consumer Affairs and a regional rep. Neither were concerned with standing behind their expensive, luxury, top of the line vehicle, and were not even interested in extending the repair as a goodwill gesture as, after all, I didnt purchase the Extended Warranty! Try as I might, I could not get through to them that they were STILL bound by Implied Warranties in Massachusetts under MGL. Ch. 93A Consumer Protection provisions. Nissan CANNOT develop and sell extended warranties (Express Warranties) in order to avoid what they would be required to do under an implied warranty. Basically: a product must perform properly for a reasonable amount of time or it is the seller/manufacturers responsibility to rectify. Nissan is attempting to coerce purchasers of their vehicles into purchasing expensive extended warranties - therefore GETTING THE CONSUMER TO PAY FOR (NISSANS) RESPONSIBILITY BY LAW. This is fraud & misrepresentation to consumer and an illegal practice! I am SO disappointed in Nissan Corp. This was my fourth Nissan and the other 3 ran forever! Truly, one of the reasons I wasnt worried about an extended warranty is because in the past Nissans were exceptionally reliable. At this time I dont know WHAT is going on with Nissan Corp., but they apparently feel no responsibility towards the consumer if they havent purchased an expensive and unnecessary extended warranty, therefore absolving them of any financial liability (ie - YOU, the consumer, already paid for yours & everyone elses repairs by purchasing this so-called warranty). Ive filed a Consumer Complaint with Consumer Protection and intend to file a MGL. Ch. 93A claim for treble damages. I also intend to inform our Attorney General of this fraudulent practice to gather information to prepare a class action lawsuit to obtain monetary damages for consumers!
Right After my accident when the brakes locked up and gave out on me while going over an on ramp close to I-80. While in My 2017 NISSAN Rogue Sport while driving through Sacramento Ca. After the accident, I called Nissan Finance and Total Loss Recovery and explain to them that Nissan Momentum advice me to close out of my AAA INSURANCE in the month of May 2018 of last year and they would deal with my car INSURANCE for me. After Explain and doing so a few mins on the phone with a live rep that told me to take it up with the Momentum dealer himself Who so called sold me the car. I Explain to the rep on the on the other end of the phone that they shut down Fairfield Momentum cars dealership due to business financial problems. On top of all that 7 days later I finally get a call back from a lady rep from Nissan Consumer Affair. When talking about my car accident she start yelling and acting way very unprofessional yelling, I am closing the case for good, right after I told her Nissan Fairfield has closed down due to business problems. Can someone please help.
If I could rate Nissan a 0 I would. All around terrible service from the advisors up to management. Brought my vehicle into Pine Belt Nissan of Tomsriver NJ. I had what I believed to be a stress crack across my windshield. The advisor along with the service manager both looked at it, and clearly said they could NOT find any point of impact, obviously with that being said it would be a factory defect. They sent all my info along with photos to Nissan corporate. Who I went back and forth with to have it covered since the glass had NOT been hit. Anyway it had been denied all across the board. Not a single person could provide an explanation on why the glass broke, of course they only work there but know NOTHING. I even asked them if they could Pay half the cost. Again was told NO. I would of happily taken aftermarket glass didnt have to come from the factory. Im guessing Nissan knows nothing of “goodwill”. Customer service is TERRIBLE! They cant even do the right thing for their customers, they would much rather lose them instead. Nissan is pathetic. I would never ever lease or purchase anything from this awful awful company again! Everyone else tell your friends and family! All they could come up with was, Sorry car is not in warranty, spare me Nissan. I will never serve my car in any Nissan service center again. Nissan does not do the right thing and thats the bottom line! Poor product and terrible employees.
I purchased a 2011 SL Nissan Juke a little over 2 years ago. I chose the Nissan Juke because, at the time, it seemed like the perfect balance of practicality and aesthetics for a car under 25k. About 1 year into ownership, the car began to lose its ability to retain a battery charge. Several times the car needed a jump start. I took it into the dealership, and was told the battery was faulty -- hard to believe for a car just 1-year off the lot. I changed the batter per the dealerships recommendations. At about 68,000 miles, I take in the car to get checked out because of a rattling noise coming from the engine. A diagnostic was run, and I was told that I would be looking at a $2500 repair to replace and/or repair the timing chain, which, according to the tech, I should do sometime soon. At 70,000 miles, the vehicle completely stalls out while driving and eventually decelerates to a complete stop. The car no longer started, and I had to have it towed to the dealership. Now, the Nissan dealership is telling me that I need a completely new engine because there was damage caused by the timing-chain, which end up costing nearly $10,000. Ive since then learned that there are countless other Nissan Juke owners that have had the exact same thing happen to them. Not surprisingly, a class-action lawsuit has been filed against Nissan on the exact same issue. I need information regarding becoming a part of a class-action lawsuit filed against Nissan for failure to disclose knowledge about a faulty timing-chain design, and subsequent failure to issue a necessary recall on the model to repair the defect.
Our 2007 Xterra with a little over 80,000 miles shut down. I had it taken to my local Nissan dealership and looks like 6,000 plus will fix it. I looked up the issue and was so surprised with how many other people have had this same issue. We have had the vehicle since it was new and have taken to the dealership for all maintenance, I wish someone would have said something there if they knew it could be an issue. Oh well, I guess I learned an expensive lesson.
Shame on Nissan! I am extremely disappointed by the way I was treated. My steering lock control unit went out and even though there was a petition to get this part recalled I had to pay for the part. It was past the warranty, but I was told that if I took my car to a dealership, I would get a fair review of my case by Megan, the regional consumer affairs specialist, in hopes of warranty assistance. She denied my claim in part because my 2009 Altima had not been to a dealership since 2011, implying that I was not a loyal customer. Why would I take my car to a dealership if there isnt any repairs that need to be done on it? I have owned FIVE , Nissans and bought 1 brand new car and 1 used car from Suntrup, not to mention personal recommendations. I have paid Nissan upwards of $40,000. If that isnt customer loyalty I dont know what is. Complaints have filed with the BBB, FTC, and NHTSA.
I have been scheduled for an inspection on the 15th of February 2022 between 1200 and 1700. I waited the whole time for the inspector which did not show up nor called to notify me. I called Nissan Inspection and they told me that someone is going to call me. Someones name John - phone number ** - called me after half an hour and told me that the inspection has been scheduled, but it did not go through the system. He said that he is going to schedule another inspection the next day, 16 February 2022 between 0800 and 1000, and if the inspector did not show up by 0900, the inspector is going to call me and let me know. John says that he is going to monitor this closely and notify me of any changes.The next day, 16 February 2022, the inspector did not show up. At 0910, I called John (and I am not sure if this is his real name) twice, but he did not pick up the phone. I called Nissan inspection and they told me that the inspection has been scheduled between 1000 and 1200. I have to travel at the beginning of March and thats a lot of time-wasting.
I’ve been a loyal Nissan customer nearly 20 years and always had my cars serviced at Nissan dealerships. Most recent bad experience with dealership, car was leaking fluid underneath. I was told it needed new rack and pinion so I told them to do the work. I paid $1,300. I always insisted on new genuine Nissan parts. The dealership replaced with used (re-manufactured), non-Nissan parts (but never told me) and it failed less than 2 months later. The dealership admitted they never got my authorization for used parts but wouldnt do more than just replace it again. How can I trust them now? I called Nisan Consumer Affairs for refund and replacement at no cost to me. I was told they couldnt offer me anything but the repair because my car is too old and out of warranty too long. Also, they told me they are under no obligation to use new genuine Nissan parts to even tell me. Seriously? The dealership is guilty of fraud and they cant do anything to make a 20 year customer happy? Unbelievable. Thats what loyalty gets you, crap. Save yourself the aggravation. Dont buy Nissan.
We had bought two Muranos from the same Nissan dealership without any problem. In 2010, I needed a smaller vehicle for my increased commute so we bought a Rogue. Transmission failed at 78K; replacement failed after another 46K miles. They will not cover this 2nd failed transmission. Their office of consumer affairs was unprofessional and dismissive. And we HAD been in the Nissan family for over 10+ years! Completely unprepared for this experience, as we thought Nissan would most definitely care and would most definitely replace this clearly defective AND DANGEROUS faulty transmission. How wrong we were! We no longer have any accolades to give this company, and will deter family and friends from buying from this dishonest company. The transmission is dangerous as gears would slip on the highway, stall at intersections, and decelerate when trying to merge into traffic. And they KNOW this transmission is defective. Weve never had such a scary driving experience on the road as well as such an outrageous experience with a customer service HA! department anywhere else. We are done with them unless they replace this transmission with no cost to us!
Saturday June 28, I went to drive to our community days festival when I started hearing a noise as if I was dragging something medal under my 2010 Nissan Titan Pro 4X with 26263 miles. I got out and found nothing under my truck but I definitely was not going to keep driving it. Monday morning I called my Nissan dealerships in the area and was told the soonest any of them could look at it was from a week to a month from now, so I called Nissan consumer affairs, got a case #** took it to my local mechanic and we found the parking brake assy was blown apart and jammed inside the rotor. Ive been calling Nissan for the past 2 days and havent got a response or call back. So if this is how they handle a repeat customer I will be going to another auto manuf when I need a new truck or car next time.
Nissan has to be one of the worst companies known to man. If youre having issues dont even bother to contact consumer affairs because all youre going to get is an Im sorry. Honestly sorry does nothing for the problem I am having. A little over 30 days ago I purchased a certified 2014 Nissan Sentra. All to find out I was infested with German roaches. The dealership refused to fix this issue until I personally went in there and threatened to tell all of their customers they sell cars with roaches in them. What makes it worst is I also need my brakes done and my ac filter changed. But to make things worse the mechanic wont touch my vehicle in the condition that it is in because it is infested with cockroaches. I called Nissan USA and only thing that they could say is Im sorry to hear that. My car has been bombed over 10 times and over a week later I still have only gotten a sorry from Nissan. Quite frankly I dont even want my car back after it had to be bombed 10 times.
Nissan Finance has been difficult and cumbersome from the very beginning. Currently, I am dealing with paying off my loan. I paid through their bill matrix system. I never received confirmation of my payment. When I phoned them, they informed me that it will take 60 days for them to process my pick slip. The customer service department did nothing to resolve my concern and seemed rather aloof. Thus, I will not be able to sell my car for another 2 months.
I sign for my daughter to have a new car for college. My daughter had a flat. I told her to take it to Kia, we bought the Gap Ins. The service dept told her that it was not covered so I told them just to put the spare on. Come to find out there was no spare or kit in the new vehicle. Well I was very upset about that. I should have been told that. Anyway, I call Consumer Affairs to report it, I talk to Bruce and he told me to email him my receipt and he would refund me for a new tire or kit. I emailed Bruce on July 29, 2014 and I have been getting the runaround ever since. Well they just lost a customer for a $106.00 dollars and now Bruce, I will be too busy telling everyone about how Great your customer Service Skills are.
Any Nissan dealership that has been in business since 2013 knowingly participated in consumer fraud with corporate guidance. They knowingly sold defective vehicles that put the consumers safety in jeopardy and our court system gave them a slap on the wrist. The class action lawsuit attorneys make bank and the consumers were stuck with the aftermath.At first Nissan claimed that a computer program upgrade would fix the issue and they knew it would not. They string you along stating that they are working on a fix, but it never came while I was under their warranty. They say they have a fix now but they want me to pay for half of it because I am just out of warranty. They never told me about the fix while I was in warranty. The fix is only as good as their word and their word has no value. What are they hiding currently? You will not know until it is too late. The whole lot of them are fraudsters that can not be trusted. Buy a Nissan of any make at your own peril. As Americans we should unite and stand outside of every Nissan dealer in America on as often as possible but especially on Saturdays until they go out of business in America. That is about the only recourse we have for these lawbreakers that our Government is allowing to stay in business in this country. Now you cannot say that you have not been warned.
It started out that my A/C would not work if I was sitting still. We called Nissan service and asked them what it could be. They listed a few different things. And none of them were your transmission could be getting contaminated with radiator fluid. Then on Christmas, our heat stopped working. My father-in-law had my husband check the radiator fluid. It was low so they filled it up. And everything was fine. No one still had any idea what was going wrong. Then in March 2010, I went to pull out into traffic. My car had a hard time switching gears and picking up speed. It just suddenly happened it was driving fine. And then, nope not anymore! Thank the Lord I am one of those drivers who wants the road to be almost clear. Because if not, I would have had a bad accident. So then, I called some people. And at that time, no one still knew what was going on. We have some Nissan techs that are friends. So, I guess Nissan finds out the problem somehow, but they will not help anyone out. Even if you got all your services, this would not have been caught. Nissan needs to man up and fix these cars! I have called National Highway at 888-327-4236 and have made a complaint! Please everyone, do the same.
I bought a new 2017 Nissan Rogue. The next day from purchase I when slowing down I felt a jerky lunge as if the break locked up and something is getting stuck or going to break, others have stated sounds like transmission issues I contacted the salesman the next day about returning the car and she said dont worry you have good warranty just bring it in we will fix it! So, I made the appointment and service said, We dont find anything wrong. A few weeks later there was a metal rattle noise low idle.Again, we dont find anything wrong with rattle. We will bend this plate, it still made noise. Service said, We drove your car 15 time. We dont feels issues. (lies!). Its been 1 year and the break, lunge pop issues has never been fixed, the sunroof rattles and squeaks, steering wheel squeaks when turning, radio sounds like static, vibrating in dashboard when accelerating are intake button for a/c gets stuck, air conditioning makes a water noise.during service wrong oil was added to my car, antifreeze was below the low line.Been there 5 times for repairs with waiting around 4 hours each visit with no repairs except for the idle. The new car warranty is basically a scam if Nissan doesnt use it. Service advisors all say, we have no problem using the warranty, but then refuse to use warranty to fix repairs. I have never had a car with this many problems in used or new cars. Service states this is Nissan not other cars you cannot compare, obviously because Nissan showed they are bad quality, customer and lower than other car with this many problems! On top of that Nissan has bad resale value only one year and lost more than 1/2 its value, basically buy 2 cars only get 1 - not complete, bad quality, junk car.
I gave my car for the service which supposed to be under warranty. Initial phone from customer service asking for $300 and later on final bill more than $500!!! For flushing the fuel path!!! The labor rate was $135.0 per hour and calculated for 3 hours. Most of the service person I encounter as novice apprentice!!! And the topping was the annoying service manager (Mike) seems that he was hand picked from. I believe the Nissan business in North Vancouver is very dull and slow and the service manager wants to make money but its a rip off.
On August 5th I wrote a review concerning my tires on the 2014 Nissan Altima with only 11000 miles on the tires. The follow-up review is that I notified Nissan company about this problem and in turn they reimbursed me the amount of the new tires that I bought. I informed them that they needed to drop the continental Tires from their new cars because of the safety issues concerning them. Because of this decision from Nissan to reimburse me for my new tires I was continue to be a loyal Nissan customer although will never buy another car with a Continental tire on it.
Overall experience of buying car was ok. When we were checking out the new car, I noticed dust in the engine compartment and requested that they wipe it clean. The salesman promised that they will take care of this during the detailing process. I did not check when I took the possession and later found out that it was never done. I emailed him with no response, meanwhile he keeps sending me emails about giving them a positive review. They gave me one wrong key for the car. I am trying to contact them to fix the key issue, NO response back from the dealer for over a week. Still waiting. Opened a case with Nissan Customer Service. Took them over 10 days to respond to say that they cannot do anything about this. Only thing I can do is take it to the dealership to evaluate the issue. Dealership is 100 miles away and no reimbursement of travel expenses.
I purchased a 2016 Nissan Altima 2.5 on February 19th 2016. I’ve had the car only 8 months and already the CVT transmission needs to be replaced. This is very frustrating and not acceptable for the fact I financed a newer car so I wouldn’t have this issue. Nissan only gives a 60,000 mile warranty and because of the work I do = Uber the car now has 83,000 miles but it’s all highway miles. Also my regular warranty ended at 75,000 miles so now for a vehicle that I’m still financing I have to pay $2500 out of pocket plus my standard car note. I contacted Nissan and they was suppose to call me back. I’ve never received a call but they keep telling me they did to give me a decision and nothing yet.
I have received poor customer service on a vehicle that has been nothing but trouble since the day I drove it off the lot. I have reached out to your department, the dealership, the warranty company (Security plus Extended Warranty) and gotten no resolution. I purchased the car in 2011 excited to have my second Nissan, my first was a Sentra back in 1988, this vehicle also had transmission issues but Nissan took care of it. I purchased the Murano along with a three thousand dollar extended gold plus warranty. I had to return the vehicle the next day because of a cracked windshield that was noticed upon my drive home.After a few days the windshield was fixed. Then the vehicle maintenance issues began. In review of my records I note that my car has spent at least 30 days in the shop getting fixed. I have missed a total of 40 hours of work on the phone with the warranty company, the dealership, consumer affairs and driving back and forth to the dealership. (dealership is in Costa Mesa and I work in Chino Hills and live in Brea) not to mention the gas I spent going back and forth and the pure stress of having to fix my car over and over again never feeling secure to drive it other than to work and back.I have attached a copy of proof that 3 different transmissions were put into this car and that multiple major items have had to be replaced, most recently the radiator which happened at night and I was not near a dealership and had to pay 900.00 dollars out of pocket to get fixed. I am still waiting for the warranty company to get back to me on this but from my previous experience I am not hopeful.The biggest disappointment came when my car had spent over 2 weeks in the repair shop having the entire engine rebuilt, transmission issues etc. and only after a couple weeks the vehicle began to have new issues, I took the vehicle to the dealership and they said it was the catalytic converter. I called the warranty company and was told by two representatives that this was a covered item. The dealership reported that it was not covered, which made no sense. I then contacted the warranty company again and they had a specialist review the issue. I was informed the catalytic converter was covered if it was welded on the vehicle but not if it was bolted and mine was bolted.This is absurd. How the company chooses to make it should not be the customers issue. This is a Nissan issue. Not to mention knowing that the vehicle had previously had so many serious problems how could they not correct this? That is just poor customer care! I filed a complaint with your consumer affairs department because I no longer wanted the vehicle and it was clear that the vehicle is a lemon and I could not afford to fix the catalytic converter. I had already paid too much for the car to begin with. I was informed that it did not qualify for the lemon law and there was nothing they would do. They mentioned something about it needing to have had more than one transmission replacement. I couldnt believe it. It was obvious Nissan did not care about their customers or their reputation and that they did not do their research because it had had more than one transmission issue.I used Yelp, Facebook and Twitter to express my justified dissatisfaction and was contacted by the Dealership but still nothing was done to correct the issue. The cooperate offices were aware of these issues and my dissatisfaction and still no one did anything to correct the problem. I am left with a broken vehicle which I cannot get rid of because I am paying for an extended warranty that will not help me. I am upside down, paying almost 500 dollars a month on a car I am afraid to drive. This is no longer a vehicle problem but an actual safety concern.A few weeks after the catalytic converter issue I was driving down a main hwy and the car stopped, the radiator was shot and the car was overheating, no warning at all. I was able to get help and pull it into a repair shop. The vehicle was fixed for 900.00 dollars, money I did not have. I was left with no car, stranded at night and for the next two days.Now just a month later the car is making another strange noise and I have issues with the steering. (the steering being something that was a problem before) I return again to the Costa Mesa Dealership where the maintenance supervisor sits with me and reviews my entire record. I explain my frustrations and he agrees to look at the car. I am waiting now to find out what is wrong but at this point I cannot pay to have it fixed and I do not want the vehicle. I should not have to roll the upside down amount into another car and I should not have to pay for the radiator or the extended warranty that did not cover everything as I was told at the time that it would. The exact words of the dealership were if you get this warranty it WILL COVER EVERYTHING but for regular items such as brakes, tires, oil changes. Apparently that is not true.I take my car in every 3,000 miles an oil change, I even use upgraded oil. I have tires rotated, I keep it clean and I drive it with care but it doesnt matter the car just doesnt run properly. Please review the service receipts and tell me how this issue can be resolved? I do not want this car any longer and I do not feel safe driving it. I want to be reimbursed for the warranty and the radiator, and I want the vehicle gone. I will be happy to purchase another vehicle from a NISSAN dealership but I do not want to be penalized for the issues with this car. In other words I still owe 11,000 (3,000 is the warranty) and the car is not worth that, this is not my fault and I should not be penalized for it.The bigger issue is that Nissan is showing that they do not care about their customers safety or the quality of their vehicles. When will Nissan correct this issue? When the car stops on the freeway because of another problem and I killed in an accident? I cant imagine that a company is that greedy and has that type of customer relations. Although it appears at this point that is accurate. I am hoping that this issue can be resolved and that I can once again take to the road in a safe vehicle. Thank you.
I have been trying to make payments for my son on his car. He has had issues keeping up with his payments, and I have offered to help out. I called NMAC to make a payment, and because I do not have a debit card that does not require a PIN, they will not accept the payment. Its unbelievable! I checked with my financial institution, and they never heard of this debit card without a PIN. They will not accept any other payment method over the phone. I have offered to give them my routing/account information to pay that way, but they said that he sent in a check that bounced, and they will not accept my check information for up to 13 months? They want me to Western Union every payment to them, for an additional $15 each month. All I want to do is help him get things straightened out with his car payments, and NMAC is not willing to help at all, as they told me dont bother sending us check (Greg-NMAC) either. This is very poor customer service! We will never ever deal with Nissan again!
I purchased my car about 6 months ago, a Nissan Versa 4-door sedan. My car ran fine up until I went in for scheduled maintenance and the dealer did a CVT reprogram. Now it is vibrating most of the time when idle. It was shaking so bad at one point that I can feel the vibration in my leg when my foot is on the break. Also on my hand when it is on the steering wheel. I only have around 38 k miles on this car. Prior to this update, I was really impressed at how my car performed almost like it was new. Now I am scared and very disappointed to say the least.
I recently signed financing papers for a 2011 Nissan Cube at Girard Nissan. 425 Gold Star Hwy. Groton CT USA. Monday 6/22/15 I just happened to be driving by the dealership when I decided to see what they had in stock. I checked online to see what the reviews were. Whilst in the parking lot, they seemed ok. So I decided to check the items they had in stock. I noticed an older gentleman walking out the door to approach me. He introduced himself as **. He brought me in to the showroom before I even had a chance to look at any vehicles on the lot. He asked what kind of payment I was looking for. I explained what payment I could do. I also told him I would prefer to put $0 down. But could put $500 down if absolutely necessary. Three hours after I gave them the down payment, 3 hours of sitting and waiting in the waiting room, chasing my children around, they stated that they needed $200 more. Flash forward to today 6/26/15 when I went to the dealership to give them back the vehicle because I was refusing to keep it on the terms that they did not follow through with implied warranty and implied quality of the vehicle. When I asked the sales manager ** why did you have me sit around for 4 hours the first day was here? The manager told me that the credit union was not open so they had to wait until the following day. My initial thought was if the credit union wasnt open, how would they have known that they needed another $200 to secure the financing? Seems a bit shady, but whats even more shady ** showed me my credit score, to assert the point that he had to work to get the financing, only to see the real credit score on the financing application was 40 points higher than the one he showed me just minutes earlier to convince me that I was not going to be able to secure financing elsewhere. I kept both reports to confirm this.Before I ever signed to purchase the vehicle on 6/23/15 the dealership had me take the car home, stating that they were going to work on getting a better financing rate. But to get to the point where I was sent home with the car, I waited 4 hours for them to work on the financing whilst my 2 children were running a muck through out the dealership. This seemed to be a tactic to stress me out to the point where I would just sign the papers without reading them just to get out of there. Luckily my husband was here to help with the children, but it was undoubtedly a very stressful time indeed.I took the car home 6/22/15 and drove it down the highway and notices something very strange about how the transmission was shifting. When going down a steep hill, the engine would rev at 3000. When going approximate 55 mph the car would not shift and would start to redline so I decided to bring it to be checked out. My friend who is a mechanic explained to me that the transmission was slipping. It wouldnt shift into a higher gear when driving down the highway and would rev at six grand until the accelerator pedal was released and furthermore the car would also raise the idol on declining ground. He explained that these are the first symptoms of a transmission issue.When I went back to the dealership the next day 6/23/15 my spouse was unable to go with me because he was working, which was disheartening for me because he is the one who deals with all of the finances in the household. But the men at the dealership insisted that I come back at this time, on this day, as soon as I got out of work, knowing I would be alone to sign the papers. I explained to the people at the dealership that I was not satisfied with the vehicle at all. I told them explicitly that I didnt want the vehicle. I cited the following reasons as to why I didnt want the vehicle. First there was a severe smoke smell in the car. I told them that the smell made me sick. I am currently fighting a sinus issue due to this. I explained that I wanted a vehicle history report and they wouldnt give me one. I also explained that my mechanic told me that the transmission isnt working properly. ** the manager stated that they could do an extended warranty on it. He didnt introduce himself but he did offer a warranty to me. I explained that I still didnt want the vehicle. Another salesman stated that he would take the vehicle out for a ride to check it out. This man was in his early 30s had a small build. So when he returned from the test drive he confirmed that the idle was odd whilst going down a hill. This man stated that this was normal for a cvt transmission. He didnt check it on a highway to witness the lack of shifting, but he was only a sales person. I cant see how a sales person would have known more than a mechanic but anyhow. The sales manager ** explained that he worked really hard to get me the loan, and that I wouldnt have gotten a loan if he didnt do that work, and also explained if I didnt get a car from them I wouldnt get financing. I asked him what kind of interest rate he got and he said, what does it matter!? And refused to tell me, I kept it within the price range you asked for. He made it seem like I owed him for doing that work. I felt backed into a corner at this point. This is where he hands me the modified credit score, which was 40 points lower than the one on the financing application. I told the staff that there were vehicles posted for sale online through other dealerships with far lower miles, at the same price. No one seemed to care, but it is posted on their website that they guarantee competitive prices. This is false advertisement.The sales manager ** explained that he could sell me a different vehicle, but explained that it would cost me more, and I would have to wait another day to see if the financing would come through. He was rushing me along and explained that because of my credit I wouldnt be able to get financing anywhere else. He stated that he could offer me a 2012 leaf at 13000. I explained that if I was going to purchase a different vehicle I wanted to do some research. He wasnt having that he continued rushing me. The dealership was about to close. I later looked the leaf up on their website and noticed that it was listed for 11000, after the fact this really made me worry about the integrity of the men I was dealing with.I didnt want to purchase the cube with the mileage on the vehicle. I felt forced to sign the papers. The men at the dealership knew I didnt have a ride home otherwise. Since my husband wasnt there, the staff at Girard Nissan knew this, and took advantage of me. While I was in doing the paperwork, ** explained that I couldnt not have the all inclusive warranty but could only get the one that covered certain parts. Not only that but he informed me that they would not throw it in as the manager had originally mentioned, but I would have to pay $1599 for it. They told me to come back Friday for the registration and plates for the vehicle. I called Girard Nissan Wednesday. No one returned my call. I called Thursday multiple times finally the sales manager ** called me back around 6pm. He fought with me over the phone about the car, and explained that I should just come in Friday to go over the situation.On 6/26/15 I went to the dealership explained my extreme dissatisfaction to the sales manager **, but he explained to me that the vehicle was mine now, so I would have to take it up with the bank. I explained that I would speak to a lawyer to see what my rights were. He boastingly said go again you better get two of them, and explained that I would not accept the vehicle and left the keys on the counter. Is there anything that can be done about this? I signed the papers on Wednesday evening, and the sales manager tells me the vehicle is my problem now.
Service Department issues-- NEVER AGAIN! My 2008 Rogue showed some weird transmission issues on a trip to Virginia on 4 occasions. After some research we learned about a CVT issue with the Nissan transmissions in these autos. Called our service department to report the issue and they took us right away. They acknowledged the transmission issue and related the steps that should be taken 1) schedule and service the transmission 2) a add-on cooler product 3) new transmission. Nissan, as an aside, has increased the warranty on these transmissions from 60,000 to 120,000 miles, acknowledging the issue.I called Nissans consumer affairs department to report the issue and to see if I was a candidate to replace my transmission. My car is used on long journeys often and this CVT issue only happens when the transmission has heated up because of a long journey - 200-300 miles. Once its cooled down, it corrects itself; however, when it happens, one loses all transmission power and acceleration ability. I also wanted Nissan consumer affairs to understand that we use this vehicle on Rt. 95 and we could be killed if we cannot get our car to accelerate.I spoke with 2 different reps who were empathetic, then my last encounter was with someone very rude. It was then I asked for a manager to call and she did. She was pleasant and understanding. I outlined my concern and she and I agreed that if there were any symptoms of the issue again, I would call her immediately and we would address it then. I was satisfied at this juncture and felt comfortable with our agreement. I then received a customer satisfaction survey from Nissan about my service experience. While the team at Hawthorne Nissans service department was nice and helpful, I didnt give Nissan a good customer satisfaction survey because I wasnt satisfied with my vehicles issue.The survey prompted a call from the service director who was concerned about his service departments score and wanted to do a deeper dive on my vehicle problem. I told him at the present time there werent any issues. He said he wanted to replicate the drive so they could experience the problem by taking my car for the weekend and giving it to the errand person and then having the service manager drive it home which is about an hour from the service center. I advised that this short driving would NEVER replicate the issue.Nevertheless, I was agreed and dropped my car off with the understanding that I would need a loaner vehicle. They hesitated but agreed. I stopped after work and picked up the loaner which had just over a quarter of a tank of gas and was given strict instructions that I must return it with exactly the same amount of gas. Ok. Then as I sat in the drivers seat they said, oh by the way, the passengers side door doesnt work.I took the loaner and parked it in my driveway. It was of no use to me without an operating passenger door. This is when my husband got involved. First thing Monday I called about my car and was told they couldnt find anything which I knew would be the case. I told them Id be in to get it. This was after my husband called and addressed the broken SERVICE department loaner issue with the director who seemed nonplussed about the entire situation.The story gets better because my car tire light was on when I got into my car. Remember the Service manager drove my car and I was appalled that he couldnt put a tire gauge on it and see if it needed air. What kind of service is that? Oh, and I had to throw away the lunch garbage that someone left in my vehicle too. Last, I learned that my car had been sitting in the service department parking lot the entire weekend.We did call back consumer affairs and reported the incident. My husband did re-engage with the service director who basically blew him off with an Oh well. This was after he told him never again would we service our car with Nissan or buy another Nissan vehicle. I pray that this transmission issue doesnt arise again and we arent killed on the highway. Im hoping to be rid of this car before anything else happens.
I purchased my 2014 Nissan Pathfinder brand new in June 2014. By October 2014 at around 8,000 miles my transmission began to fail as I was driving down the highway. The car would jolt down the road. I took my vehicle in to be checked. They did a software update and sent me on my way. I didnt have my vehicle out of the parking lot before it started happening again. I turned around and took it back. They kept my vehicle for several days and determined a new transmission was in order. The transmission was replaced. I was able to get about 35,000 miles on my vehicle and then the fuel sensor went out. Nissan dealership replaced it but I had to pay for it as it was not included in the warranty. The dealer did pay for the labor but Nissan REFUSED to cover the part and I had to pay for that. In August 2016, my transmission began to lag. As I would drive in low gears it would jolt and skip. It had a hard time making it up slight inclines, such as a parking garage. They did the software update again and sent me on my way. At first, the vehicle seemed to run ok but as more time passed the problems begin to rear up again. In October 2016 I brought my vehicle back. It was determined that my transmission had to be replaced at 49,000 miles (This would only be 41,000 on the new transmission). This car is unsafe and jolts down the highway and has even staled out in intersections. I have asked for Nissan to buy back my car and refund my down payment but they refused based on my history it does not qualify for a buyback. I do NOT recommend anyone to purchase a Nissan. The dealership has been great but Nissan has not. They do not care about their customers. They refuse to work with me. They dont want to ensure the safety of their drivers. They just want your money. Period. The end.
A 2015 Nissan Murano I leased in February 2015 was in the service department for 45 days. I was highly unhappy and wanted Nissan Consumer Affairs to either take the car back or exchange for a functioning one. Nissan consumer affairs was dismissive, vague, uninterested in the hardships I endured, and ignored the many valid complaints and concerns I had. They sent me generic letters only and in the last month never returned my calls. This company has become a joke, and I am proud to say I have already deterred 2 friends from buying a new Nissan. In customer service, the customer should be heard. Not dismissed!
I wanted a vehicle that would be low maintenance, fuel efficient, & nice to drive. Instead had disappointment after disappointment & not to mention poor customer service. Constant problem with the push to start button & Nissan dealer asking for $1000 to repair something that should be on recall. :(
Purchased a Pathfinder November 2013. Last year and a half we had a new transmission put in and then took it back for transmission issues after that. Now our electrical panel fried. Im almost at 29000 miles with a basic factory warranty. Help.
I am working in Turkish Airlines from Turkey. I want to explain my complaint. I have a Nissan Juke which has features 2012 model, 1.6 automatic transmission. It is now in 39000 km. When I went to periodic maintenance to Nissan Yzbaolu Service Center for 45 000 km maintenance, service consultant said that there is a problem with automatic transmission in my car and he send my car report which includes VDR data etc. to Nissan Center for Turkey. And they said me that I have to change my automatic transmission.Nissan Turkey gives me offer that it can be changed my automatic transmission with 5500 cost TL (Turkish Lira) approximately 1900 $ in Turkey. I made all periodic maintenance in Authorized Service Center and it is just for age and not having huge km. It is very, very little usage. How can it is possible to failure? I dont want to pay this cost. This has caused so much stress on me and my family. It has to be free for changing transmission or very less cost. Could you evaluate my complaint? Please help me and if my issue is not related with your department and emails account, please inform me that the correct email address.
Purchased a new Nissan. Been making payments online and on time for over a year. Nissan changed their website without notice. Stopped sending notifications to customers of billing due. Tried to collect two months when only one was due. Charged a late fee. Does not supply an email address, nor do they answer their phone, just IVR. Extremely poor customer service and planning. This was the first and last time Ill finance through them.
After I made the complaint, Nissan senior executive has personally respond to my case and guide to the sales representative to make the fair compensation to me, Im happy with the deal Nissan offering to me and I will accept to take this grey car.
The salesman troy said my credit wasnt good, only qualified for the Nissan Rogue, I could get refinanced in 3 months to lower my payment. The finance guy ran my credit 15 times without my permission and he wont remove the it by calling the credit bureaus. He had me sign the papers for a lender only to call me a week later and say the deal fell thru. Come back in and resign. When I refused and said I wanted to cancel the deal, he became loud and disgruntled. He said, You cant change your mind and we already sold your vehicle. I tried to refinance 3 months later and was told by the lender they dont do refinance on their loans. Now I am stuck with a high payment.
Based on the horrific service with the representatives for Consumer Affairs, I will not purchase another Nissan as I planned to next year. You call and your rep NEVER picks up phone. Play phone tag for days. Terrible service.
Got 2013 versa and brakes have been changed three times already. The fan went out and car ran hot. The ac leaks water on my right food which is going to mold and mildew my carpet. The ac at times took about ten min to blow cold air and the weatherstrip around my windshield has came out three times. Ive only had the car about six months. Also I notice it sputters sometimes when in accelerate. They, well, most of them were rude. Said they would put me in a new car for extra $100 a month which I cant afford and they said it would be another versa!!! I am fed up.
My 2011 Nissan Rogue with 62,000 miles on it needed a new transmission. Warranty said 6 yrs or 60,000 miles. My claim was rejected with a $147.50 diagnosis fee and a price of $5,440. Do not buy any Nissan products. Cant believe Nissan headquarters. With all their money cant help out customers when they know their transmissions are all defective.
Nissan has the worst customer service. I have been a valuable customer since 2011 and have never missed one payment. I was informed that the company did not receive one of my payments and instead of notifying me, they sent me to creditors. I am convinced someone from the company took that payment and pocketed it. Because of their carelessness, I have been put as delinquent after only missing one payment; and instead of helping to resolve the issue, they said theres nothing they can do! Horrible customer service and bad manager! Nissan needs better employees who know how to interact well with customers, try to find solutions and dont catch attitudes with customers who spend their money in this company. I will never recommend anyone to ever purchase a vehicle with Nissan!
I brought vehicle (90SX 240) in for service because there was a lifetime warranty on the seatbelt components, which I read included the motor. The motor pulls the chest restraint back when you close the doors of the vehicle. That was my number 1 concern. It wouldnt move! I was haggling with Nissan North Americas consumer affairs about its warranties and what it covered. My case# **, contact person, Richy **. They attempted to sell me a used motor for $600 and when I told them about a new motor for $98. After 15 days they gave me the vehicle back with the seatbelt repaired and a tampered frontend, which I didnt have when I trusted them with my vehicle.
I used to have a 2010 Nissan Altima which was great, never had any issues so when my lease was up I decided to lease a 2013 Altima. What a mistake. Ive been with my car for about 2 1/2 years, since the moment it left the dealer itd been a disaster. Couple of months after I leased my car, I noticed I had a weird noise coming from the transmission. I took in the car for service so they can take a look at it. They said they ran a few test and told me nothing was wrong with the transmission and that it was normal that it was making that noise. Couple of months passed by and I noticed that when I would accelerate the car would get stuck and it would stop. This is something very dangerous and could of caused an accident. April 24 2014 I took the car in AGAIN for the second time. This time I needed a new transmission. I also had a noise coming from my sunroof and my back window. The guy at the dealer said it was just a clip that needed to be fixed. Its now March 2015, almost a year and Im back at the dealer for the third time, not for the transmission but for the AC! My AC is now broken. The service told me my compressor has a leak. You would think they would lend me a car while they get it fixed, correct? Nope, they didnt. They put freon with a dye to see where the leak is coming from because thats the way their warranty works. Guy at the service told me to bring it back in a few days to see exactly where the leak was coming from. AC stopped working today (its now 90 degrees in Miami), I took it in for the fourth time hoping they can get this replaced ASAP!! NEGATIVE! They told me to come back Sunday because they didnt have any cars to let me borrow in the meantime. Im sure this isnt the last time the service area is going to see me. My transmission is making noise again, my right side windows gets stuck and I have the rattling noise again from my sunroof and my rear windshield. Words cant describe how upset I am with Nissan. I pay a pretty good amount for a car that has had so many issues. I cannot wait until the day I can turn this cheap car! Im currently getting prices with other dealers. I will never lease with Nissan again. My lease will be up in a couple of months, Im currently getting prices with other dealers. Bottom line if you dont want to spend most of your time in the service department, dont even bother with these people.
I have been trying to make my monthly payment my Visa card. Apparently, the third party vendor that Nissan uses for collection DOES NOT accept a credit card as a method of payment in California, New York, Connecticut and other states. Why is Nissan using this Mickey Mouse third party vendor for collecting payments? Now my credit will be affected because of non-payment??? I am trying to make my payment but Nissan/BillMatrix will not accept my payment because BillMatrix does not accept credit cards in California! I have look through the papers I signed when I bought my Altima Coupe. Nowhere in the paperwork does it indicate that I cannot use a credit card to make a payment! Now whats wrong with that?
