Volkswagen Automobile Model 2025 Volkswagen Jetta

2025 Volkswagen Jetta

What is the 2025 Jetta

The 2025 Jetta is a compact sedan from Volkswagen — aimed at buyers who want a practical, efficient, affordable car with some European styling and solid everyday usability.

It seats five, offers a respectable trunk, and delivers a balance of comfort, economy, and value rather than luxury or high performance.

Powertrain & Performance

Engine: The 2025 Jetta uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 158 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque.

Transmission: An eight-speed automatic transmission.

Fuel economy: Combined fuel consumption is around 7.4 L/100 km (in Canadian-spec reference); in U.S-spec EPA terms, estimates are roughly 29 mpg city / 39–40 mpg highway / ~33 mpg combined depending on trim.

Performance: Adequate for daily commuting and highway driving — not a sports car, but the turbo helps make it responsive enough for everyday use.

Interior & Practicality

Seating & Space: Five-passenger layout with reasonable front and rear room. The trunk holds about 14.1 cubic feet — enough for groceries, luggage, or daily-use cargo.

Cabin & Features: For 2025 the Jetta sports a refreshed dash and interior layout. Even base trims get useful features such as LED lighting, power side mirrors, and basic comforts. Higher trims add nicer touches.

Infotainment & Tech: The base and mid trims offer standard touchscreen infotainment (with wireless smartphone integration on many trims), and higher trims bring nicer options like digital instrument display, better materials, and upgraded comfort.

Trim Levels & What You Get

The 2025 Jetta is offered in a few main trims; as trim increases, so do convenience, comfort, and available tech features. Roughly speaking:

Base (S) — budget-conscious, but still decently equipped for essentials.

Sport — a bit more style-orientation: different styling elements, sport-style touches, perhaps larger wheels.

SE — adds more comfort and tech upgrades: better interior trim, more convenience/features, nicer upholstery, more modern infotainment, and comfort touches.

SEL — the top version: more luxe touches, better materials, and the most complete feature set in the lineup.

This tiered approach means the Jetta can work as a simple daily driver or as a nicely-equipped sedan depending on your needs and budget.

Strengths — What the 2025 Jetta Does Well

Good fuel economy for a traditional gas sedan with a turbocharged engine — efficient for commuting, errands, and highway trips.

Balance between value and features — you get a lot of car for the price, especially in mid trims.

Practical everyday utility — five-seat sedan with decent trunk space, good for daily use, small families, commuters, or anyone needing a straightforward reliable car.

Reasonable performance for its class — the turbo engine gives adequate power for daily driving without feeling underpowered.

Modern touches in higher trims — upgraded materials, more comfort and tech in SE/SEL trims make it a step above basic economy cars.

Trade-offs & What to Know

This is not a performance car — while the turbo provides decent power, the Jetta is designed more for practicality, comfort, and efficiency than sporty driving.

Rear seat space and trunk room are modest compared with larger sedans or small crossovers — a compromise for compact-sedan size.

As with many cars in this class, the “nice” features (better materials, advanced infotainment, comfort upgrades) come only on higher trims — base trims are rather basic.

If you need AWD, off-road capability, or large cargo/passenger capacity — the Jetta won’t be ideal.

Who the 2025 Jetta Is Best For

The 2025 Jetta works well for:

Commuters who want a reliable, efficient sedan for daily driving.

Small families or individuals who need a practical, budget-friendly car with decent comfort and space.

Buyers who value a good balance of price, efficiency, and features — without needing luxury or big-SUV scale.

People looking for a simple, easy-to-own sedan that handles daily needs (work, errands, trips) without unnecessary complexity.

Bottom line: The 2025 Volkswagen Jetta remains a solid compact sedan — delivering a useful mix of practicality, economy, and value. It isn’t flashy or ultra-premium, but if you want a dependable, efficient, no-frills (or modest-luxury) car that covers the basics well, the Jetta hits the mark neatly.

On March 21st, my daughter was driving her friend to the airport when they smelled something burning. She has a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta Wolfsburg Edition (100K) that she bought when she turned 16 with a majority of her own money. The seat heater malfunctioned and burned a huge hole through her seat and right through her sweatshirt and t-shirt. We have read tons of complaints about the seat heaters. Since the black leather in her car is no longer being manufactured, they want to replace it with a light gray leather. The bottom seat will remain black and they will replace the portion your back rests on with light gray. This is a horrible remedy. She will have one light gray seat and the others will be black. An entire month has gone by and the parts are still not here. The first order was supposedly lost so they placed another order and its on backorder with no ETA. Volkswagen in NO WAY cares about their customers. This is the worst customer service we have ever dealt with. Dont buy a VOLKSWAGEN if you expect to be taken care of! All they do is string you along. I cannot believe that they can continue to get away with this. CUSTOMER Care is a total JOKE! You should honestly be ashamed of yourself for the way you handle serious issues. She was not part of their recall.

My daughters 1999 VW Beetle was parked in her college dorm parking lot (outside, thank goodness) when a friend walked by and noticed flames shooting out of it. Car is totaled. Not covered by insurance or VW who does not care nor do they assume any responsibility for it.

I own a Volkswagen Touareg and during a rainstorm, water drained into the fuse box and destroyed the system circuit. VW is claiming it is not a recall therefore, they will not repair the damage. The service dept told me there had been another VW in their shop two months prior with the same problem and it cost that owner $7,000. My cost is $15,000+. Why is it auto manufacturers do not have to stand by their products? If I sold a product that was defective, I would have to fix it or replace it. As a consumer, I am very dissatisfied and angry that I should have to pay for a manufacturing defect they know exists and refuses to fix it.

Until now I have always had good luck with the VW corrosion warranty. I recently submitted a claim that they have refused to cover. They are telling me that the damage is due to a factory installed molding and not covered by warranty. It is corroding from under the paint, causing it to bubble. They say that it should be covered under the 4 year paint warranty and not the 12 year corrosion warranty since there is no visible corrosion. I requested information, and they replied We would have to rely on the diagnosis determined by our dealerships. The dealership said they send the pictures in and do not make the decision. They will give me very little information about the denial and to the best of my knowledge the determination is being made by someone who has only seen cellphone pictures. It seems that VW has added plastic trim pieces in areas prone to rusting as an excuse to void their own warranty. I love the car, but it is very disappointing they will not stand behind their warranty. It is still one of the best warranties out there, but a warranty is only good if they are willing to stand behind it.

On August 21st, 2019, I went for the regular engine oil change in Volkswagen on Barnet Highway in Coquitlam, B.C. Also they offered me free pollen filter change. After a couple of hours, they called me to get my car back. On the way back I found the service reminder on the front window has not been changed. I drove back to them and asked them if whether they really did change the engine oil. If they did it, how come did they change the reminder. I really doubted it. Also they told me that they have changed the pollen filter for me today. Actually on the paper, it showed they did not change. How did that happen? Did they really do services for the customer or just fool us around? Besides, they even did not say sorry at the beginning.

In addition to feeling robbed every time we took the car in for service, we have now been waiting since early last November for our settlement from the diesel gate thing. We were initially told that Volkswagen had 20 business days to review our paperwork. That took 3 months. Then we were told once we received our final offer it would only take a couple of days to get an appointment to do the buyback thing. The earliest appointment we can get is the end of March. Meanwhile, we get penalized for the mileage we put on the car (my wife is in sales so its considerably more than the 12,500 per year limit). I have many other complaints about the car, the company, and the dealership, but they echo so many other reviews here I wont bother. Before you purchase a Volkswagen please consider how ethically bankrupt the company is and ask yourself if you really want to do business with them.

I was driving my 2002 Volkswagen Passat when the Stop Engine oil pressure light came on. I had my car towed to Maple Hill Auto Group, my authorized Volkswagen dealership and was told that this would cost me between $2400-$3300 to repair. In doing further investigation, I found out that it was a known problem with my make and model. There was a class action suit against Volkswagen and they extended the warranty.I am 5595 miles over the extended warranty on a fixed income and basically screwed as I can not afford to fix this. I am not asking them to replace my tires just fix a known problem with my engine which is no falt of mine but that of the manufacturer who has declined to help me.

I have had nothing but poor customer service experience with VW USA Custome
I have had nothing but poor customer service experience with VW USA Customer Care. When I called the dealership where I purchased the car in panic after my car brakes failed on the freeway - the salesman did not invite me - ever - to check my car, which is an accident waiting to happened. It is nothing short of a miracle my kids are still alive due to my car stalling at a major and busy street in Los Angeles at least on two different occasions.I have contacted VW Customer Care before the car was stalling - when the driver door was about to fall off - mind you I am 411 tall and weigh 100 lbs. I later contacted VW USA Customer Care again when I started having brake failures and they did nothing whatsoever except waiting for them to get back to me (in a week or so) and then saying that they cant do anything. So when my car started having stalling episodes (2 of them on major streets in Los Angeles), I did not bother contacting VW USA Customer Care but went to the dealership that said they do not see a problem and that they run the car computer system something of that sort and everything looks good.I also like to say that every time I went to the dealership, I had to make sure the right description of what has happened is put down on the work order and not what might look better on paper. Not having a loaner car when I pay almost $400 a month for my car that keeps breaking down is a terrible business practice. The Sun Visor hitting my eye could put me out of work. Fire coming out of the charger while I was driving traumatize both - my very young children and I - Please note that since then, none of the car chargers has been working so I have to rely on a portable charger I have purchased. I truly appreciate your willingness to help but I have lost faith that anything will be resolved because if VW Customer Care did not care that my childrens life and my life are in danger driving a Volkswagen, then why would they care now that my lease is almost ending? True. VW still does not care.

I have owned many VWs in my life and unfortunately, this will be my last. I have had nothing but problems with my 99 Passat 1.8T. It recently started to suffer the dreaded sludge issue. VW does not care. The car is old. Time to buy a new one, says the dealer. They give out the wrong information for maintenance with the vehicle and now its too bad for me the car is old apparently. The owners manual says to use conventional or synthetic. Conventional oil sludges these motors and now Im sol. So, I would highly suggest that no one buys a VW. Unfortunately, I just got a 2011 TDi. Now Ill have to find somewhere to trade it in before I need to service it somewhere and they tell me to buy a new one.

VW CC owner - VW customer care is by far the worst customer service I have
VW CC owner - VW customer care is by far the worst customer service I have ever received. I have 3 recalls on my car. The horn and steering controls don’t work because of the clock spring recall. The dealer only fixes the air bar but not the rest. So after the “work” was done my horn still doesn’t work and VW somehow doesn’t see how not being able to honk a horn in traffic is a safety issue especially if someone is about to hit me. I was also told that I would get a refund for a tow I had due to the fuel pump module recall. VW doesn’t offer refunds on that unless my mileage qualifies me. So 100$ gone due to their ** ups. I am selling the car after driving it for just one week after I bought it, or course I have to fix the transmission first. I will never buy a VW again.

Dealership is now closed and VW will not honor the service agreement or the extended warranties that I purchased because the dealership is no longer in business. Obviously I chose the wrong brand. VW told me they have no desire to make things right. I will now have to pay for all services (oil changes and maintenance) and all other extras I purchased and paid for are now null and void.

We bought a 2020 Tiguan six months ago. This car likes to stop itself in the middle of the street for no apparent reason. If you read more reviews online, you will find it’s a common problem. VW reviewed the case for 2 months only to let us know they weren’t going to do anything about it. Terrible customer service and seems to have no concern about driver safety. Would give 0 stars if I could.

Extended Warranty. I purchased a 2010 Volkswagen Passat with an in-service date of 10-18-10 (warranty coverage begins). After being a loyal customer for 10 years, the company refuses to cover an P2015 Intake Manifold Runner Sensor Engine issue covered by an extended warranty if the vehicle is 120K miles or less and within the 10-year warranty. My engine light alerted me on 10-23-20. So, over the weekend I had the codes ran at AutoZone which identified the problem. On Monday 10-26-20 I called my local dealer and they informed me of the extended warranty stating I was merely 6 business days outside of the 10 year requirement but well under mileage at 92K. They suggested I call VW corporate to get this approved. I spoke with a very nice lady and then her boss and despite their professionalism, they refuse to work with me to help get this fixed. They said they simply cannot go beyond the 10 years even if it is a few days and mileage is well under. This is a VW part issue, not something user caused. Needless to say, this leaves a very bad taste in my mouth that rigidity and greed come before flexibility & doing what is right, especially during these times. This organization seems to lack compassion and the know-how of retaining long term loyal customers relationships & viewing each situation and customer as valuable.

The engine in the 2013 VW GTI we leased burned up at 25,000 miles. Nine days before this happened, the dealership where we leased it from refused to honor the service agreement and misled us as to whether or not it was due for service. As a result at the BBB arbitration between us and the manufacturer, we were held responsible for 1/2 of the cost of replacing the engine on a 2013 vehicle with only 25,000 miles on it. We have had to sue the dealership for the balance we had to pay due to the breach of the service contract. As a result, we have been paying $260/mo five months, the court date is not for another 3 months and we STILL dont have the car back. VW sucks, the warranty sucks, and the service contract sucks. The Customer Care guy (Douglas **) was nice enough though -- Im sure hes just following orders -- not his fault VW corporation cheats its customers on the warranty and the service contract (while still taking our lease payments at $260/mo).

The intake manifold has failed on my boyfriends 2010 CC sport. This part has an extended 10 year/120,000 mi warranty on it. His vehicle is just outside of that warranty in mileage (121,500) and they wont do anything to ease the cost of replacing part. The whole reason they extended the warranty was because they expected the part to fail within 10 years, and its definitely less than 10 years old. Because other car manufacturers would take this into consideration and do some type of prorate of split the difference in parts & labor or something of the like, we called and asked them to do this. And they just dont care. No reason to build brand loyalty, I guess. Every time weve had to deal with them, it has been a head ache - the Takata airbag recall for instance. My mom has a Honda. Honda gave her a rental until they could fix the problem because it is unsafe to drive at the risk of having a collision and being pumped full of shrapnel from your airbags. She got her car back, fixed, 2 weeks ago, though she was in a rental for about a month. When we called VW about it then best response that we could get was why its safe to continue driving it around. Or how the NHTSA doesnt find it unsafe. The funny thing is, I research EVERYTHING. And according to everything I found, the NHTSA is who demanded the recall. VW responded with a letter as to why they should be exempt from it. The recall was issued in 2014, and VW just started recalling in February 2016. Shame on this company for caring so little about its drivers & for being so reckless with consumers lives in general. VERY disappointing. If you want reliability, you may want to go with a less expensive vehicle as they seem to have a better attitude and overall view of customer service.

My 2012 VW Tiguan (30,000 miles) has to have the engine replaced. I take it to Bethesda Oarsman dealer. Thankfully I had the extended warranty but they had my car for over 2 months. When I got it back this new engine was making clunking noise every time I turned right. Took it back and they said they fixed it but still had the noise with a new noise happening every time I started to accelerate. Took back it again. Then my sunroof starting leaking and mats were soaked. Took it in again and they said they fixed it.3 weeks later after I was away for 2 weeks and not using the car I got in and the entire car was damp with Mildew everywhere. Took it in again and they had it for 2.5 months and told me it was fixed so I came and picked it up. Drove it that night but the car still stank of mildew and it rained and water was dripping from all the windows. Defroster just made it worse and was dangerous driving. Took it back in again the next day and told them they didn’t fix anything. Left it there for another 2 weeks. Got a call telling me it was ready again so went to pick it up and car still stinks like mildew and mold is still on seatbelts. Left it there and this is where I am now. NEVER BUY A VW!!

They said that they sold a lot of these cars and only my car and one other had this issue, this is a lie, from the research and from speaking with a Customer Care Manager, all the R Lines experience this problem. These people should be ashamed of themselves, for being so dishonest. I would not buy another VW if someone paid me to, and for anyone considering this brand run for the hills. Purchased a used 2010 Volkswagen cc about a year ago with 70,000 miles. Clean carfax, no accidents. I did have the understanding Volkswagens are expensive to have worked on, but also thought they are supposed to be well built and reliable. The car has been a nightmare from day 1. Just the last 2 months alone the has been in and out of the dealership 5 times. The intake manifold, all the fuel injectors, the fuel pump, fuel pump control module, carbon build up... on and on and just as horrible as the car is the dealership. Ship is just as bad (maybe worse). Volkswagen doesnt stand by their product. They know about all the problems people have with them and they dont care.Just with the fuel system alone I truly dont believe all those parts I mentioned above failed. I think the techs just kept throwing parts at it until it ran at my expense of course. I could keep going and going... Long story short do yourself a favor and buy another brand. I hope the emissions scandal puts them out of business. Every time I drive the car I now wonder am I going to arrive at my destination? Totally disgusted!!!

I bought brand new Volkswagen 2010 from dealership in Kansas City. It was serviced regularly by the VW dealers. One evening, I came back from the work, parked the car in my driveway and next morning, the car would not start. I towed the car to the service center at the dealership and they say it needs a new motor. A 74K mile Volkswagen needs a new motor. I asked the reason and the service manager says oil level was low in the car and the car if out of the warranty now. This car was service by VW dealer in Lees Summit before 3 months of the breakdown, its Check Engine indicator never got turned on, the car does not consume oil and all of a sudden the engine failed. The service center says they serviced the car properly, dealership says its out of manufacturers warranty and I am stuck with this expense of $11000. The car does not have a single dent on its body, its trim, interior is all like a new car but the engine is bad. After spending enormous time talking to the dealership, service center, VW area manager, district manager and all, we concluded that this is the last Volkswagen in my life. And me and my entire family has become a great anti-Volkswagen advocate. Absolutely shameless managers, irresponsible service center and liar manufacturer. Extremely disappointed with my 2016 VW golf sportswagon and their customer
Extremely disappointed with my 2016 VW golf sportswagon and their customer care. I have been a VW owner for 20 years and didn’t have any problems with the quality until I purchased this car. The car had transmission problems only after 6 months and the same issue happened numerous time during the 5 years. Not to mention that there were a few recalls as well. The turbocharger also failed just shortly after the warranty expired. I called VW customer care to see if they can help given that I had been a loyal customer. The experience with customer care had been terrible and disappointing. It took 6 weeks for them to complete an assessment for the car. I had to follow up numerous times and was always given the answer that they will look into it and call me back. But they never did. It’s not until that we went to the dealership to talk to the service manager that customer care put effort to complete an assessment of the repairs. It’s disappointing that given the quality history of the car they are only willing to cover about half of the repair cost. Their decision is final and doesn’t given a chance to discuss further with them. The quality of this car is not what I expected from VW.What is also extremely disappointing is that they don’t offer basic customer service. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that I will get a call within 48 hours. It never happened as always and it took numerous follow up calls and 8 days later before a supervisor called. This is totally unacceptable customer service. Their “don’t care” attitude will drive away loyal customers. I will never buy another VW product or recommend them to a friend or family.

Volkswagen shouldnt be sold in the US. The customer service is awful and the warranty means nothing. I traveled to Michigan for a quick vacation. The car broke down hours away from my destination. Get a towing truck through road assistance was almost impossible. My car was sent to a dealership 2 hours away from where I was staying. 12 hours later I received a call to let me know they got my car and they were going to inspect it in 1 week, I was staying there for only 2 days. After spending 7 hours on the phone, I decided to take a taxi to get a rental car (the closest rental was 1 hour and a half away). Volkswagen couldnt provide me a loaner/rental. I had to paid for everything. Everybody I talked to over the phone told me to contact the trip interruption department. After spending 200 dollars in a taxi, I get a call that the car was ready. According to them, the car was not fixed correctly at the dealership in Chicago (Volkswagen Irving Park Chicago). Took another taxi the other way, another $200. Once I got there, the Muskegon Volkswagen rep told me the following: We reconnected a hose that they forgot to connect when they replace the crankshaft sensor in Chicago... Please note the car has only 25K miles and broke a few weeks before this. They charged me because a different Volkswagen made a mistake but trip interruption was going to take care of this. Long story short, I made it back to Chicago, mailed all the receipts as they told me to do and today I got a call to let me know the case was declined. This is not money related, I dont care about the money but I can tell that Volkswagen customer service is awful... In Muskegon, in Chicago... Everywhere... even the customer CARE. I dont understand how they do business with this poor customer care. Definitely, not buying a Volkswagen again. On top of that I bought the extended warranty!!! STAY AWAY FROM VW CHICAGO IRVING PARK... STAY AWAY FROM VW MUSKEGON... STAY AWAY FROM VOLKSWAGEN...

So I get a postcard in the mail for a recall in my ABS system in my car (2009 VW Jetta). I make an appt at VW in Clarksburg WV for 0900 on June 19th. After sitting for an hour and a half I check the status of my car. The service manager says it should only take 30 minutes for my car and I told him is already been waiting an hour and a half. He goes, checks on my car. States that they have to order a new ABS SYSTEM for my car which 9 out 10 times a car doesnt need it. But mine does. He then says they dont recommend me driving it until its fixed. So I ask if they are going to give me a temporary or loaner vehicle to which he says I cant. We dont have any. So I ask if they will provide a rental. He says VW doesnt do that.So what do I do? The manager says, If you want your car you have to sign a waiver and pushes my car keys into his pocket. So I was told I could have my car if I signed a waiver releasing them of liability if I get in an accident but they wont provide me with any type of vehicle to drive temporarily. So with great hesitation I sign and voice my opinion on how bad their service is and always has been but this was topping it. Told theyd call me when the replacement came in.11 days later, I just called them and asked why they havent called me about it. The manager again (how hes the service manager is beyond me bc he does a very poor job at retaining customers or helping them) says to me I havent called bc I havent had any available appts open to get you in! I said dont you think you should call me so that I can make an appt at least?!?!? After all I am driving around with a disabled ABS system!!!Without any regard to my well being or my kids who ride in my vehicle or others on the road, he says I guess I can get you in July 10th. You guess??? I am so appalled and so extremely angry at how incompetent and irresponsible this man is!! He lacks any concern for others and hes fat lazy **. Cannot and does not even attempt to help me in this situation. I highly suggest that VW replace him with someone who knows what theyre are doing. I will never, ever buy another vehicle from VW!!! They have done nothing but give me a run around from day 1.

I have a 2011 Volkswagen Golf TDI, which I bought new. Its one of the Diesel cars that VW was found to have lied about. About a year ago I signed up for the VW TDI settlement program and planned to turn in my TDI this fall. Now, to add insult to injury, the High Pressure Fuel Pump has failed, which I am told is catastrophic and will now cost $4500 to repair. Unless I repair the car I will not be eligible to turn the car back to VW or be able to have them retrofit it so that I may continue driving it. The car has 124,000 miles on it and the extended warranty, which I was not informed of, expired at 120000 miles, just a few months ago. I was never informed that there was an issue with VW fuel pumps. Apparently, the High Pressure Fuel Pump was the subject of a federal investigation which I never heard about. Further, Volkswagen has paid for this repair on vehicles outside the extended warranty period. A quick web search reveals thousands of these HPFP failures. Please consider looking into this, as VW has set a precedent by paying for these repairs past warranty and now they will not cover mine, leaving me with this huge burden. Thank you.

Now the dealership is saying they need to keep the car because the sd card is not communicating with the car. They also said they called Volkswagen and they said they couldnt help. What a joke. 2017 Alltrack. Had we known how dreadful our selling dealer and VWoA customer care related to a new vehicle purchase would be, we would have immediately turned around and never looked back. Upon delivery of our new Volkswagen, we found several issues that we addressed and were told that theres nothing we can do. VWoA is basically useless when customers have legitimate complaints, so much for VWoA s concerns about the customer purchase experience. Without going in to detail, lets just say our experience left a very unpleasant taste in our mouths. There was no delivery inspection record or documentation, the literature and accessories were unpackaged scattered around the cargo area, one of the remote keys was defective, the fluid levels were below minimum requirements, the Navigation SD Card was found under the front seat, but the dealers 4 metal logo was prominently affixed to the rear hatch with some type of super glue. This is our last Volkswagen purchase. We feel that all we are to the dealer is a number in their quota. Pathetic!

Faulty cord causing airbag light sensor. I have a 2003 volkswagen beetle. I had an airbag sensor light go off on my dashboard recently. I got it checked out by a local mechanic and he finally came to the conclusion that it had something to do with a cord under my passenger seat. I have researched this issue and found that it is a very common problem with volkswagen. I had never even seen this light on before. I contacted volkswagen of america and was told in a response email that I would be contacted within 2 business days. Over a week passed, and I had to call them to check on the status of my request. I was then told that they responded, which I never received. Also, they even admitted in the notes that the customer service advocate read back to me, that they conducted research and are simply not willing to cover the cost to correct the problem due to the age of my car. It is a 2003 not a 1980. At what point does a timeline for correcting a defect expire and who decides this? This is a major safety hazard for me and very inconvenient. With the sensor going off, the airbag is currently disabled. I cannot allow any passengers to ride with me. I do not feel that I should have to cover the cost of a faulty part out of my control, especially when there are many many other cases with the same issue. I am very disappointed in the way my request was handled.

Purchased low mileage 2011 Volkswagen CC. (39,000) Engine kept stalling, driven 100 yards and dies, several times over. Finally died on highway completely, and with no power steering, I rolled out of the mountains of Colorado. Rolled into 1st exit. Fuel pump control was replaced. Ran fine but now red power steering light on dash and no power steering. Into the dealer! Was told computer needs TSB update. (Reprogram the computer) $429.00 and two days! Got it home, next morning same thing, no power steering and the red power steering warning light on. Which means no power steering! When you try to turn a VW with electromechanical steering there is no comparison to anything save for the fact that your heart is in your throat and it is frighteningly hard.Back to the Dealer. Was told needs a new battery. Got a call after the new battery and was told it also needs a new Rack and pinion assembly. Total this time? $2300.00! The dealer in this case (O’Meara) helped immensely by warranting the Rack. I investigated this problem on the internet of course only to find that quite a few VW C.C. owners went through the same thing! Went through VW and a district manager and was told OUT OF WARRANTY! Period! My wife and I truly regret buying a VW. Now we drive it and think what’s next!

Well the remote start quit working the next day after I brought the car home. I reported it to the Dealership & Service Department & VW Customer Care & to no avail... No one has done absolutely nothing!! They say there’s an update or they’re working on to fix the issue. It’s going on 6 months after purchase & I have not heard anything from anyone. VW passat 2009 - I have seen many posts written about the tire cupping issue and was wondering if anyone had heard any explanations. I was told that the TDI and non diesel Passat have the same chassis, and this is the reason for the cupping. The suspension system should not be the same for the diesel as the non diesel due to the weight difference. Now, along with the FOURTH set of tires Im needing you buy (51000) I have learned two wheels have a crack on inner side which is causing tires to leak. Anyone else experience this?? I have never been in an accident nor have I hit any gigantic potholes! Also having issues with the brakes... 2015 VW Golf - After receiving the safely recall in the mail, I spoke (after many times trying) with service at the dealer I bought the car from. I have not even reached 10,000, my first oil change. They told me to wait until then, and I was fine. Two days ago, a light came on saying that my gas cap wasnt on.....okay. That message went off, but today my engine light is on. I bought this car in September of this year, brand new, and already this is happening. Things do happen, but when I called with the concern that I might die in a car fire (leak could cause this according to the recall) they couldnt get me in until next Monday. Annoyed, I called back and suggested I drop off my car and take a loaner. Nope.... Customer service is terrible so far, at least at my dealership. On top of this, a car wash knocked off the drivers side back of my side view mirror, and a plastic runner on the seat already broke off. Im completely disappointed, despite the quick handling and nice interior. I just needed to vent.

2012 Volkswagen EOS - I purchased this car used in Daytona Beach near the end of April 2017. Around September 9, the automatic transmission started slipping and clunking into gear. I brought it into the Volkswagen dealership. They looked at the transmission and told me that the transmission fluid had metal shavings. Of course they didnt know why. And because it has 64,000 miles (warranty is 60,000) I would have to pay for a new transmission. For parts and labor, $7,100! I bought it for $12,000 and it only books for $11,000. I went in because my car stopped in the middle of the road 5 times on a Friday. Volkswagen provided me a car for the weekend and then told me on that Monday which was October 9th that there was a recall on the fuel pump and module and that is why my car is stopping in the middle of the road. I called Tom Bush Volkswagen in Jacksonville on that Friday when my car stopped because I was in the middle of traffic and almost got hit. I was in tears and that is why the guy got me a car to drive for the weekend. They want me to pay $850.00 for parts that is not my fault. I dont have money for that and just recovering from Hurricane Irma. I do not have it. I am not mad at Tom Bush they tried everything to get my car fixed for the recall. I am more than frustrated with the Volkswagen company because I was told I have to pay for the parts and they know it’s a recall and then they will reimburse me. I feel in danger to drive my car and have not driven my car since then because it stops more than three times in traffic. I feel like Volkswagen should fix my car because they know it’s a recall. This is not my fault so why am I catching rides to and from work because I cant drive my car. This rating really deserves a zero. Volkswagen does not care about my safety or my familys safety when I have to try and drive a car that stops because of their faulty equipment. Something needs to be done and fast. I have had 6 VWs since 1968, and they do not work well. Yes I am a chump. I get drawn in by VWs nice fit and handling. But, believe me they make a very unreliable car. But the worst part is the arrogance that imbues every VW. Of course the TDI cheating scandal just underscores decades of this arrogance. When the Passat I had got bad coils a few years back they would not admit it. They would only replace them one at time as they failed. When a brand new Jetta gas model had the oil seal break all over my garage after 4k miles it was just business as usual. I have had every sort of fan failure, electric issue under the sun. Both my Passat and daughters Jetta heater blowers sound like birds chirping when you take left turn. Bring it under warranty and VW says no problem found. How about blinker signals that do not work when it get below 25 degrees F? Friends, any car can have problems but with VW they just dont care and that attitude just cost them billions of dollars, so far, and millions of USA customers. The brand is permanently sullied. I bet they dont care since they can make up their lost sales in China, they think.

My husband and me have been the proud owners of three new Volkswagen cars. We have always had our cars maintained only by the Donaldson Volkswagen dealership in Sayville, NY. Ever since I have owned my 2004 VW Beetle, I have noticed that the ignition cylinder lock. I verbally mentioned this several times to the Donaldsons Technicians and was told VW Beetle had been made this way and I was informed to wiggle the steering wheel and place my foot on the brake. I never check out this information given to me by the technicians. My beetle is now over 88,000 miles and without an extensive warranty. On 7/18/16 my car broke down and locked. My car had to be towed to the Donaldson dealership. I explained to technician this was an on going problems throughout the years that I owned the VW Beetle. I had to fix the car. The Donaldson Technician wrote: Found steering column locked. Mechanically faulty causing damage to ignition lock cylinder, removed and replaced ignition lock cylinder, removed and replaced steering column lock. This cost was $532.30 to repair. I asked the technician again if anything could be done with the cost of the repairs since this was an ongoing problem with the ignition lock cylinder. Technician replied, no, your warranty has expired and the car is over 88,000 miles. The technician gave me the VW Cares telephone number but I received the same comment from Improvement Customer Service person Martin ** as well as their team leader MaryJo ** who made the final decision. Both of them would not give me their last names. I learned two lessons from this experience. 1) I am not a value customer at VW Donaldson. 2) Check out an on going problem with your car and find out if this problem is ongoing with other VW 2004 Beetles. My husband and me were going to purchase two more VW cars but we learned our lesson from this experience.

I brought in my Mother-in-laws 2004 VW Touareg into the Kitchener dealership (Crosby VW) due to major rust concerns. VWs preferred auto body shop Mitek then saw it and drafted a quote which eventually VW Canada denied saying it was surface rust even though it clearly started beneath and was solidly through. I disagreed and while I was largely ignored by VW Canada my persistence eventually ended up getting me a written response but no real explanation, process or coverage and I had to take care of the $6000 repair myself. I drive a 2012 VW Golf R and I am a long term VW fan who feels very slighted. I am experienced with most forms of legal action largely due to my employment and I seriously considered legal action as I could easily take this to small claims court, but in the end I didnt feel it was worth the bother or the issues VW Canada would create. Anyway the same VW Touareg now has rust coming from beneath again on the right rear door in the same place as it occurred in the left rear door. Im guessing VW Canada will pull the same nonsense and fail to honor the warranty. I have filed a BBB complaint to which VW Canada has denied all liability. I responded with this.I do not accept the premise of this response on the grounds that: a) VW Canada cannot upon my many requests provide any supporting documentation or scientific evidence as to how this is as they call it corrosion perforation resulting from outside influences, failure to promptly repair paint damage, damaged undercoating, or surface corrosion; b) A third body panel (passenger rear door) is currently showing signs of rust from beneath the surface, but it takes many months to even get a check up to see if it is covered due to a backlog at VW. I believe that this is a deliberate attempt to present the damage as failure to promptly repair and circumnavigate VW Canada’s responsibility to honor their warranty.c) VW Canada’s response to the BBB complaint does not make effort to address the rear driver’s side door that was replaced due to rust from beneath and provided no explanation as to how it rusted nor any coverage; d) The license plate was not in contact with the tailgate until the day before inspection when I removed the plate and cover to better see the damage. I did not put the cover back on to take in into the dealership because it broke upon removal. VW Canada has made no effort to provide any evidence that this was a long-term situation. In summary I believe based on online posting investigations, that VW Canada is following a mandate issued by management to cut costs by lowering the amount of rust corrosion claims paid out.

Tried to go on their website. Malfunctioning. Frustrated, called the dealer where I bought it, they said bring it to them. I was penalized 400.00 for not buying another vw, even though they raised the price 8k on the same car no improvements, ridiculous!!! Then assessed another 400 for excessive wear. I refused to pay vw credit. They threatened to turn me into a collection agency which would ruin my credit. Funny thing is I had a body shop touch up the entire car before returning, I inspected it. Had Michelins on it in good shape. Read their lease before you sign, I will never buy a VW again.

We leased a 2015 Tiguan R for three years and drove it across the US three times, with no issues. Once the lease ended, we purchased the car from Camelback VW in Scottsdale, AZ. Because we purchased it from them, they had to do a pre owned certified test, which was last July. Since then, we have had to back to them over 18 times because it keeps dying on us. For some reason they can’t figure it out. They have now fired us as a customer because we are a nuisance. Without fixing our car mind you! We love the car but wish someone would help us.

I took my VW Polo Vivo sedan 2016 model in for a 90000ks service the 1st week in July. I told the technician that there is a cluck cluck noise coming from the drivers side. Can he please check it. When I got the car back he said the battery needed to be replaced and but I could still drive the car. A week later the car wouldnt start, so took it back to the dealer that did the service and had them replace the battery. I still told him there is this cluck cluck noise. They replaced the battery and he said that he heard the noise but I can still drive the car. They picked up that an irregularity on an injector but I can still drive the car. Only when the EPC light comes on then I must bring the car in. The same day I replaced the battery while on my way home the car wouldnt go faster than 40ks and this cluck cluck noise got louder and louder, eventually the car wouldnt go anymore and I had to get towed home. The next day I called a VW near my house and they said that they cant help me. They fully booked. They can only help me the Friday the 12Th. So I had the car towed in, the security guard at the gate closed the gate in the tow truck and let us drive around aimlessly trying to find the service department. Booked my car in and they took me home. I called in at 3pm that day to ask if they had found something and the guy said to me there is a waiting period of 24 to 48 hours for the technician to look at my car. So I called on every time to this dealer to find out what was wrong with my car. By Tuesday the 16th they still didnt know what was wrong with my car. Wednesday the 17th they said to me the spark plug melted, they couldnt explain how that happened. So they needed me to pay a R6500 stripping fee so they could strip the engine. Thursday they came back and said that the gasket between cylinder 1 and 2 is burnt, they would get back to me with a quote. Thursday even they came back to me with a quote of R45000 that the engine needs to be overhauled. Im still asking how can a car go in for service and a week later the car isnt working and now the engine needs to be overhauled. I logged a complaint with VW SA and they also of no help. Both dealerships are not willing to help me. So now its almost 3 weeks and I dont have a car, and no one is willing to help me. This whole experience has left a sour taste in my mouth and I will never buy another VW in my life. I will also tell people not to buy VWs and what service they in for.

Last night, my husband and I went to Ford to trade in our leased VW CC for a new car. The lease was supposed to be up in May. I was quoted a payoff amount of $15,500 by VW. The deal with Ford was made late at night when VW Credit was already closed. Ford agreed to pay off the lease, and we made the deal with the new car. The purchase with Ford was very easy and smooth.Ford called VW this morning to confirm the payoff amount, and VW added an additional $2000! Apparently, the 6 payments that were supposed to be due until the end of the lease, which was supposed to be in May, were not included in the payoff amount. How can that make sense? Payoff means final amount to completely pay off a car. So we had to pay an additional $2000 because VW Credit gave us the wrong payoff amount. Then they changed their story and said its a termination fee. $2000 termination fee? Are they serious? Never again will we ever return to VW for any future cars. They just lost 2 loyal clients due to their cheapness and carelessness!

I have taken my 2008 VW Jetta 2.0T to the dealer 4 or 5 times due to a hard-starting issue when the engine is cold. I spoke with a VW tech and told him what was happening and he said, Yes, that’s a bad fuel pump. I asked if he can please repair it now and he replied, Unless the computer on the car tells us what’s wrong, we cant do anything. A few weeks later, a service advisor called me from David Maus VW and told me that they had another VW Jetta with a 2.0T engine that had the same issues and they replaced the fuel pump and that fixed the problem. I asked why VW won’t replace the fuel pump in my car. He said, If we cant reproduce it, we cant fix it. I still have warranty and VW is giving me issues. To top this all off, VW says the seal around my headlight is bad and is allowing moisture in the headlight. They said that would cost me $589.15 to do that repair for the headlight. I asked why it would cost me anything when the car is still under warranty. His reply, VW doesn’t cover seals under warranty.

So I grew up fascinated with Volkswagens. I was obsessed with Herbie the love bug, and knew I always wanted a Beetle. I had a 1972 Standard Bug, I currently have a 1972 Volkswagen Bus and I have a 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible 2.0T. As most people in the Volkswagen Scene, Ive decided to modify my car. I took it to a dealer who specializes in a tune which has excellent ratings. Meanwhile Volkswagen knows that the Timing Chain Tensioner on the 2012-2013 betters were an issue. They denied my warranty coverage saying that the tune did this (which is a lie and failed to prove this with testing). I feel like this is another scam like the diesel issue.

Brian from Cardinal Way offered me $33K for an GTI Autobahn in black. I took a day off from work, hauled both my parents and myself and Uber to our destination. Once there it quickly turned into a circus. They dont have the car. Brian had car trouble of his own and was a no show. (He must own a VW.) Both the manager and another guy tried to get me to buy another trim which I declined. While they were tossing nonsense in the air, another dealer 10 miles away texted me for a better deal. I declined. Bridges burned. So we had to take Uber back home without the GTI. Not sure how these car dealers live with themselves but I do believe Karma is a **. Since 2011 I have been trying to dispute inaccurate information being reported by them on my credit file, every time I had disputed it they in return come back with worse information than before adding more 30 day lates. This can not be legal and they shouldnt get away with this. They are the most frustrating company in the world to deal with. Dont ever buy or lease through them. They will report incorrectly and when you try to dispute it they will report back with worse information than before.

Beware of the scam Half off the oil change. It looks like they might be putting half the oil!!! From day one always service my vehicle with Volkswagen. No one besides Volkswagen dealerships shop serviced my vehicle. A few days ago the car stopped on the freeway while driving. Lucky no one was hurt. When insurance inspector got back to me they stated that the cause of the accident was Engine fail due to zero oil in Engine. The engine had turned black inside and there was no sign of an oil change done for months. Which is not true. Also no sign of any leakage. None of the service light ever came on indicating that there was something wrong with the vehicle! The vehicle even states that Im not due for an oil change yet! When I called VW they gave me the runaround basically telling me that even though the car is not due for an oil change for another 2000 mile or months their hands are tied. Because The vehicle has too many mileage (94000) and to old (2011). But they would be happy to forward my complaint to the dealer that did my oil change. They didnt even offer to have my car inspected by one of their shop. Thought I was saving when I got that offer in the mail half off my oil change. Which now is going to cost me a new engine!

I have had a rattle since June in my 2018 Atlas. It has been in 5 times for this problem. Now they say I need a new seat frame and they have no clue when it will be in. It could take a month or 5 months. You cannot even listen to the radio because the noise is so loud. I have taken with customer care service and they are useless. They refuse to replace the seat from another VW Atlas that is on the lot. I am sure they can do a temp repair of putting foam in the seat frame but they wont even do that. I would strongly recommend not buying a VW product due to their very poor customer service and the futility of getting repair parts.

On the 19th October 2017 my Polo Gti which is still under warranty broke down at approximately 6 pm. This vehicle is currently doing 41000km and is still under warranty. My biggest concern or disappointment is that this car gave no warning and just breaks on a busy street with my family in the car. What if this car had broken down in the middle of nowhere or worst in a dangerous area putting mines and my familys life at risk?I then had to wait two hours for roadside assist to tow the vehicle away. I was told the next day by VW Umhlanga that they busy and my car will be only looked at on Monday. After phoning whoever I could I managed to get hold of service manager of VW Umhlanga who said that he will try have a look at the vehicle that afternoon.Saturday morning I got a call saying they did a software upgrade and the car is fine. 1. Why did roadside assist send a tow truck from Mount Edgecombe to tow the breakdown in Tongaat, is that the nearest breakdown services, because I know its not, I personally know a towing company in the area that is VW accredited. 2. Secondly why was the vehicle towed to Umhlanga who was clearly not willing to have a look at the car till Monday. Had I not made a fight about it, and to my knowledge VW Ballito is much closer.I am now worried as this vehicle has a warranty that ends at 45000km or next year 2018. There was no warning of it breaking and no explanations as to why it did. What if it has similar problems as soon as this warranty expires and the headache and costs of this vehicle now becomes mines. I spent 32000 rand on this vehicle and breaking down in the middle of a busy street was the last thing I expected.I am hoping VW comes up with a solution as to maybe extending this vehicles warranty and guarantee this problem never arises at all. If I do not get a reasonable solution from VW I will make sure I complain on every platform be it the ombudsmen or Hellopeter. I just think that breaking down in a vehicle that costs over 300000R without no warning and just be told by the agents its a software problem and we dont know why it has happened is unacceptable. I am hoping to get feedback from you soon.

Our 2018 Atlas went in for 8 software updates around Thanksgiving, 2018. We still had a COLD heater, meaning blowing cold air like middle of the summer. Our Atlas December 5th with scheduled pickup of Dec 7th. We were given a loaner (a tiny Jetta, not 3 seat Atlas we are used to). But we thought, ok, we were told the fix would be done by Wednesday. Then, the next Wednesday, then more excuses. Let me tell you, after 2 months! We went to the dealer to get OUR payment after 1 month, to pay on our vehicle we DID not have. To find the entire inside dash and more completely torn out! The excuse was, it was always the wrong part, going to take another week. Finally, we opened a case with the regional so called manager, Chris. What did he and VW do for us? NOTHING. They delayed, and delayed and finally gave us (after calling and begging repeatedly), a drop dead date of February 1st, claiming their Lawyer process takes 10 working days, we still got a sorry, were very sorry, but it will be Monday or Tuesday before I can give you an answer. In the meantime, leading us to believe they were going to replace the vehicle at full cost, or more, and give us our two month payment back. GUESS WHAT! NOT!!! Chris and Volkswagen KEPT leading us on giving excuses as the dealer didnt send us the forms, blah blah BS. Chris, the so called regional manger and VW lead us on and kept delaying, until, guess what, they say, Come get your vehicle. Its fixed. Thats the response!!! No joke. It is Feb 8th!! We have been BURIED in snow. Our family has ridden in a NOT EVEN comparable vehicle for over 2 months. We have lost work time and more dealing with the issues, and, oh yeah, made two full payments on a vehicle we did not have. Did VW or the dealership compensate us for any of this??? NO NO NO. Come get your so called fixed LEMON vehicle. DO NOT EVER, EVER...I repeat, EVER buy VW...PERIOD. Im also forwarding this story on to DATELINE, and CBS for 60 minutes. This is more than a problem of VW in America, and hard working people. This has been just wrong.

When I purchased my VW GTI it rode very rough. I asked if the PDI had been performed when I was completing the purchase paperwork and I was told that it had. After a week of a very rough ride in the front I checked to see if the shipping pucks had been removed from the front struts. They had not (3 pucks in each strut) leading me to believe that no PDI had been performed. I emailed the dealer manager to notify them of this and see if I could have my struts checked for damage and got no reply. Now today I brought my GTI in to have the first service completed. After waiting 2 hours from my appt. time/drop off I asked if my car was ready. I was informed that there was a mistake with my paperwork and they hadnt started! 45 minutes later I was informed my service was completed. I lifted the hood in front of the service desk to inspect the service but before I could pull the dipstick I noticed there was oil on my right fender, on the engine cover and my front license plate was bent out from the bumper at a 90 degree angle (not how it had arrived 3 hrs. Earlier). They bent back the plate and told me I was good to go. I was beyond furious so I headed home. After I got home I checked the oil to find it overfilled by 1qt. Horrible service. Completely unacceptable.

If they give the assurance I can take and drive without fear. But they denied to give. That means they have doubts, so that hesitate to give. In this situation how I get my vehicle AND drive without fear as affected twice. If I take my car without assurance I can put it my showcase rather than drive. Bought a brand new Volkswagen Beetle two months ago from West Cape Volkswagen. It was delivered with a fault on the sunroof and with the central locking function. Taken to the dealers workshop three times, each time failing to fix the problem and adding more problems. Now the headlights dont work either and I am unable to drive after dark or in bad weather. The car was also returned with a dent in the dash, for which the dealer is not accepting responsibility. They refuse to replace the vehicle, insisting on trying to fix it yet again. Took it to the nearest dealer today to get the lights fixed just so I can get by over the weekend. They couldnt assist. They advised me to call out the roadside assistance, which I did, only for them to pull up their shoulders in ignorance too. Over R300k spent on a car that is unsafe, not roadworthy and with several faults and damages caused by the dealership. Think twice about buying Volkswagen. What should have been the pleasure of a new car is now much more trouble than its worth. Volkswagen SA keeps referring me back to the dealer and refuses contact with their senior management.

Took my 2016 Golf R (with only 56,000 kms on it) in for servicing as it simply shut down. VW Service Tech told me it needed a new engine control module (ECM), turbocharger and thermostat housing - something they rarely see. Its one owner car, serviced exclusively at VW dealer, low kms, and babied. Final bill was $7,000 on a car that cost $46,000 new. I asked VW Canada to look into it and share (50/50) the cost of the repairs. While it was out of warranty, they offered me $1,500 credit on future VW sales and service - which is of little use to me as I sold the car to the VW dealer, and dont plan to ever buy a VW again. Guess theyre simply not interested in my future business (VW, Audi, Porsche) or my word of mouth. Unfortunate as Ive purchased 10+ Audis in the past and this was my first foray into VWs performance cars. Wiser for the experience and disappointed.

Bought a 2013 2.5 SE as a left over in 2014. Since then I have had the window master switch replaced, the front passenger window switch, the Bluetooth module, shifter and ignition replaced all due to failures and malfunctions. The one item was the AC where during summer temps the vent temperature fluctuated from 40 to 70 degrees, the AC would shut off humid air blow out for 10 minutes and then it would kick back on. I have brought my vehicle in many times for this issue at every 10k factory service and many times in between. The incompetent techs look for malfunction codes, check the charge level and run the car in the SHOP and say, Oh its cold...At the 40k mark outside of the B2B warranty they found the issue and told me a simple exact and recharge would fix it. Now if the charge level was fine at every AC service why would it be found now? That wasnt the case, the issue still remains. I got VWOA involved. They said nothing can be done other than having them look at it again (likely same results) where I may be liable for loaner expenses. I am never buying a VW for myself or recommending a VW to anyone again.

I am extremely disappointed in my recent experience with Volkswagon Roadsid
I am extremely disappointed in my recent experience with Volkswagon Roadside Assistance. On Friday, April 15, 2016 we accidentally put 1.5 gallons of gas in our nearly empty 2012 Jetta TDI. I called Roadside Assistance for support and they advised me to have the car delivered to the dealership. A master mechanic suggested that we could fill the tank the rest of the way with diesel and have no problem. Trying to make a decision, I asked the Roadside representative what they would do at the dealership. He explained that they would lift it up, drain the tank and flush out the fuel lines, and said that Roadside would pay for the service. I said Roadside will cover it? and he confirmed. Based on the fact that Roadside said they would cover the cost of the service, I chose to go ahead with the tow rather than dealing with the situation on my own.On Saturday, April 16 I called Harmony Motors, our local dealership in Asheville, NC to check the status of my car. I was directed to the voicemail of someone who would be out of town for a week. His message warned that no voicemails would be received until his return. I called Harmony Motors again on Monday, April 18. They were surprised to hear from me and said they had no record of my car being there and could not recall seeing it come in. The mechanic said he would search the lot and get back to me. After two hours of panicking that my car was stolen and several calls to the dealership, Roadside and tow service, I finally heard back that they had found my car. Roadside Assistance gave the dealership NO information about my vehicle. The tow service they hired left my keys in the car without notifying anyone in the service department. My car sat in the lot for three nights and two whole days before anyone knew it was there. Now its Tuesday, April 19. The mechanic finally called me back to tell me what service needs to be done, and that it will cost over $500. I told him Roadside said they would pay for it. He followed up with Roadside, then called me back to inform me that Roadside is not going to pay. So, obviously I followed up with Roadside. I explained the situation to the representative and she said the manager would listen to the recording of the call and get back to me. I was hopeful because the representative was very clear. The manager was Felicia ** from the St. Petersburg, FL office. She said she listened to the call and that Roadside Assistance does not cover repairs and that I misunderstood the representative. I urged her to have someone listen to the conversation for another opinion. I explained that I am confident it was not a misunderstanding, and that perhaps the representative was misinformed about the companys policy. Even so, they should adhere to any promises made by their company reps. She said that it states clearly in the manual that Roadside does not cover the cost of repairs and that this written policy overrides anything that is said in person. She would not let me speak to her supervisor and would not give me her full name (I retrieved that later from VW Customer Care). She was rude, impolite, insensitive, and crass.I then followed up with VW Customer Care. I waited on the line for 40 minutes before my call was answered. I filed a complaint about my experience and the representative I spoke with here was very nice and understanding. I received a follow-up phone call from the VW Roadside Customer Care manager who further confirmed that Roadside will not pay for the service even if the representative claimed that they would. The written policy overrides anything else. I explained that this is an unethical way to operate a business and its not how I operate my own. If a representative makes a claim to a customer, the company should honor that promise and then take it up with the representative.I have gone four days without my car, hours of stress and time away from work, and am now facing a $500 bill that I could have avoided if I had the correct information from VW. It is clear that this company is well rooted in dishonesty, misinformation, extremely poor customer relations and no understanding of ethics. I hope this story shares more on the truth of how VW operates and that their words cannot be trusted. So what have we learned from this? If you want an accurate representation of Volkswagens services, I guess you need to consult written documents. Unless you happen to be inquiring about clean diesel. Then, unfortunately, youre ** out of luck.

My five years old 2011 VW Tiguan had two major mechanical problems. One problem with the fuel injection was fixed for free because of the recall. Another problem was the antifreeze leak that would cost me more than $3K to fix. That made me decide to trade it in for the reliable Volvo. One week after giving away Tiguan, the second car made by VW Jetta Sport Wagon 2013 didnt start. The dealership diagnosed sensor problem that can be fixed for only $300. After few hours they call us back (probably thought they didnt ripped us off enough) and told us that the computer is broken and need to be replaced. It will be another $1600 + $300 for the sensor that might be broken or not. We are very scared to hear from those VW people tomorrow. The car is very expensive and in the hands of people we dont trust who keep finding wrong things with very costly parts. I already told my sad story everyone I know. At this point we used to have two new cars and ended up with nothing just because we shopped at VW. I hope people learn from our mistake and that VW manufacturing stop producing these very expensive but so below lowest quality cars.

One perk that sold me on my purchase of my Certified Volkswagen Tiguan was the car replacement or loaner auto promise (if car was disabled and had to be in the shop for over a day). However, I have had numerous occasions in which I had to leave my car at the VW service shop for repairs and was told there were no cars available or that there was nothing they could do. Either Volkswagen vehicles are spending more time in the shop than they are on the road or someone (i.e. Volkswagen) does not honor the promises made at the time of sale. Regardless of the answer, I would not recommend the purchase of a Volkswagen to anyone. This is my first and last Volkswagen vehicle purchase based on the poor service and misleading warranty information.

I bought my used 2009 Tiguan with 30,000 miles on it. At 46,000 miles the engine light came on. At the same time, my gas cap, stopped clicking when I tightened it. The local VW dealer says it is a water pump problem which they quoted as an $1100 repair. I replaced the gas cap, the engine light comes on and goes off for weeks at a time. Do I believe the dealership mechanics or go elsewhere?

I just took delivery of my 2014 Jetta Hybrid on Saturday. No easy way to put it but the claimed MPG for this Hybrid is BS. I have been driving it just highway miles and on cruise and only 2 mph over the speed limit 67 and I have been averaging 30 mpg. Which ** stinks. My reasoning for trading in my 2012 Audi was to get better gas mileage, which is not what is advertised on the sticker of 42 city and 48 highway. I am absolutely furious to say the least since I am well into a half a tank and only 200 miles. This is completely false advertising in the side of the manufacturer.I am so upset you have no idea. Just in the last 6 years, I have had 4 VWs and have been extremely loyal to the brand. I had an 2012 Audi and traded that since I was getting 28-30 mpg and driving much more. Since the Jetta is advertised at 42 city and 48 highway, I knew this was going to be a significant gain. This car is nowhere near what is claimed and I am completely upset about this. I will also be reach out to others on this matter.

I LOVED my car. I loved VW. My purchase experience and countless visits for maintenance through the years were nothing but superb. I bragged about VW to my friends. I planned to buy another VW when my current Jetta needed replaced. However.... two weeks ago I noticed the headliner on the roof of my car was pulling away from the center light and in the back. This was a part of the car that should not fail. I only have 63,000 miles on the car. I have kept it parked in garages both at home and work. The climate is only humid in Georgia in the summer, this isnt Florida or Hawaii. There is no reason this piece should fail. I contacted VW and they outright REFUSED to give me anything towards this repair. They claim my car is too old. SEVEN years is TOO OLD?!? So they expect their customers to replace their cars every 5 years or something? Thats absurd. Ive taken good care of my car this entire time. I planned on it lasting another 3 years and they wont cover a $600 repair? Nope. They would rather lose the 25K purchase they would have gotten from me for my next car. Good riddance VW.

I purchased a 2012 VW cc from Michaels in Fresno, CA. Some companies were wanting to pack your furniture or your belongings and then store it overnight and then deliver it the next day. Almost immediately the car started breaking down. We have almost completely rebuilt the car by replacing the battery several times, the computer system, fuel injection system, transmission and now tire sensors. The car was not only prone to breaking down but was extremely dangerous as it would turn off or stall on the freeway at high speeds. Despite numerous attempts to get assistance from both the dealer and corporate I was turned away. I will never buy another VW product again or purchase from Michaels. They make and sell a product that they know is highly defective and subpar. Im going back to Honda.

Purchased our 2013 Tiguan new. Babied it... Changed oil early and often, always garaged. Tires replaced with Michelin Pilot Sport because original Michelins gone @ 14k. Rear window exploded in parking lot untouched (I was behind it when it happened). Tires shot AGAIN @ 40k... Would have been $1200 more but had warranty, so ONLY $600!!! Took it in for TX inspection @ 48k... Upper control arms/bushings shot... Replaced for $1300.00. Don’t buy VW... They’re not only crooks, they are also thieves!!!

So I bought a 09 golf in the UK 2 years ago with HID headlights in it (plug & play). I then realised they are bad for the car. I then had an issue with my indicator it would not turn off so was advised the body control module needed to be replaced. Volkswagen quoted me about €180 for diagnostic and whatever extra to get fixed (about €300) for new BCM. Had to get the keys recoded €75 and paid the 180 for the diagnostic and only coded one key. On top of this the diagnostic didnt work because the BCM was not correct. They told me to come back with a bcm from the same year and mark golf for it to work correctly. Asked could I book in a couple months later and keep it on site overnight to avoid taking time off work. We dont do that. After arranging work around the date I booked I Got Another BCM. This time the correct one with same part number. Back in today and could not pair either key and said I have to buy one direct for about €300 plus fitting but before that need to charge me €185 just to make sure this is the issue (again, as if its magically going to work the second time around). Collected it today and I was told neither key had been coded and I still have to pay the €45 because they wasted their time. This garage has disgraceful customer service and robbery for nothing. I will never in my life again buy Volkswagen and make sure none of my friends or family do. Each time I came into the showroom I spend 10 minutes before someone helps me and seems to think its acceptable to speak down to me. You dont take money off someone for a 5 minute key coding job you could not complete. Also not to Advise an alternative option of replacing a bcm that might not be the issue but in the end will charge me just to be sure. Back to square one but -€305. I also questioned why I paid more the last time to code the keys and I got no reply.

Beware of leasing through VW Credit! I have leased for 20+ years and I have never gone through the issues Im going through with VW Credit after turning in my 2009 Jetta 3,000 miles under mileage! They will rake you for every little ding, scratch, burn, tires, normal wear and tear, anything they can get from you. I will never lease from them again! I am starting a website for other people Ive had contact with to share similar stories. So when the site is complete, I will make sure everyone knows how they do business.Ive never had to pay for tires (they were exactly where they should have been when turning it in). You can turn in a Honda, Toyota, Lexus, etc. with bald tires and they wont bother you! It’s normal wear and tear after 36 months. Ive only ever had to pay for over mileage! VW Credit is ridiculous and I, nor my friends, family, neighbors or co-workers will ever do business with them again!

I bought my 2010 VW CC sport a few months ago. I was pretty happy with it at first. I rolled 60K and took it down to Hallmark (Henderson TN) dealership. I asked for the 60k service that my manual stated it needed which includes the following: oil change, spark plugs and coils change, tire rotation, brake inspection. I paid 300 for all this to be completed. After leaving the dealership my car starts misfiring after only 20 min. I drive it home and called the dealership only to be told CARBON build up in the motor needed to be cleaned. (There is no carbon build up.) I asked for more details and they hung up. So I decided to look into my car and see what they actually did. Lo and behold the spark plugs were still in the car from 2014. They charged me $90 for the tune up that they did not even do. I looked at the coils and it was the same thing. Except the coils were the original 2010 ones. Now my car wont even stay running because of something that they did during their SERVICE. They want to charge me another 1300 for them to re-diagnose the issue and clean the non existent carbon. (The carbon was previously cleaned before taking it to them.) MY advice, do the basic maintenance yourself and dont ever visit this dealership. If I could afford to swap this VW off it would be gone like yesterday.

My Advice to all the folks who are even planning to buy a Volkswagen vehicl
My Advice to all the folks who are even planning to buy a Volkswagen vehicle, Dont even think about it. Unless you have lots of money and use and throw car. Its a shame on you Volkswagen!! All the car manufacturers (Its shame for me to say your competitors) are building cars that last for 200K miles and your car is falling apart after 90K miles. I had this car which likes to go back to the workshop every 2 weeks once its marked 90K miles. Its shame on your assembly employees, quality control engineers. Are they sleeping? Or you are not paying them well? Please take all the money that you make from the repairs caused by these breaking parts and give them as bonus. Motivate them to at least build something so that at least you can call yourself as car company. I was always recommending friends about this company... Now I realized big mistake. Sorry VW. Not any more. I changed my advice. None of my friends/colleagues are no more going to buy VW if they get my feedback. To all the folks who are planning to buy - I would suggest instead of buying a vw, just drop $100 into the toilet daily and flush it. That will at least save time from going back and forth between the repairs.

Had the same issue on my 2019 Tiguan. Contacted VW customer service and they not only stated that “oil consumption” is normal but it’s acceptable to “consume”a quart per 2k miles… I traded the tiguan for a Toyota before it devalues further. After 4 VWs and 3 Audis it was time for change due to VW and the dealer not giving a flying **.

TDI Settlement - The initial process of having VW review my documents took much longer than the stated/required time and I anticipated a delay due to the volume. I received my final offer letter 12/28/2016 and before I could send them back my car was totaled on 12/30/2016. I have since called the 1-844-98-CLAIM number listed on the VW claim site 4 times. I have gotten a different answer every time on how to switch the claim to restitution only. I was advised that I do qualify for restitution and I hope that is true. Ive been advised to fill out the 24-page paper claim and send it in. I was then told that my login would be restarted and I would then file for restitution only. To restart the website would take 3 days. Its been a week and nothing has changed on the website. Ive asked for a supervisor to call me which would take 24-72 business hours and Im beyond that and no call.I called back today and was advised a new option to start a new claim on the website with a different email address. I again asked for a supervisor to call, however I have NO faith that it will ever happen. Im not about to fill out a 24-page paper claim form or create a new email address just to start the claim process all over again online. VW has all my ownership information and it has been verified. I can understand submitting proof that the car was in an accident and rendered a total loss. I have no problem submitting additional required documentation, but to start all over after months of waiting is ridiculous to ask their customers.

I purchased my 2009 Volkswagen cc at 72000 miles on November 2014. The same day I drove home I had a CEL turn on and off, I took it back, and the dealer changed 1 coil wire that was about to go bad. Thanks. Soon after (month later), my fuel pump and fuel pump module went out. I called and they said, No warranty. I went and purchased, 650 dollars with installation at brother in laws shop. Cheaper than dealer by $500. Then at 112000 miles my transmission went out. No warranty of course. That was 5k to replace and install. This was in March 2016. In April my fuel injector was misfiring. Replaced all injectors. Then in March 2017 my throttle body went out. No help all this time from VW group of America. Worthless to be honest. Now in October 2017 my fan went unbalanced. No more VW for me EVER!!!

VW TDI buy back - We turned in our car on Jan. 19, 2017. Today is Feb. 22, 2017 and they still have not paid us. Not only that, the car was a 2009 and was on track to be crushed but we were not told this when it broke down and they made us pay 4300 to repair it as supposedly VW would not take back a car if it wasnt running. Now I am wondering if it was the dealer - Ken Garff in Orem Utah.
